"You want some of that video foundation to i right now. Charles barkley has taken aim at politically correct. People and he said is taking the fun out of nba on on tnt. Now people are upset about what he's been saying about women in san antonio. This is the joke that he's been using for years now about large women from san antonio. Listen to this off. Never said they'd have good looking women. Senator jesse never said he got in front of all right. They are great. Look how long. How long did it take her to those five women. They're they all know man. This is a great city. I hope trump back paralympic. Listen i'm telling you know what i think is a great city. I think they got the best on an nba. But they do bigger women. I mean come on now. He also noted that he's overweight as well that makes it tightening limiting san antonio and when people were asked on the street about this. Here's what happy so i mean. I don't know if you heard. Charles barkley says that there are no beautiful wound in san antonio charles. Barkley the guy. That doesn't know how to golf club and victoria definitely a secret. Victoria's secret down a city. So what did you think of charles. Barkley's comments oh the man they call the round. Mound of rebound. Somebody like i to in fact all right yes. Let's not Here's the thing about political correctness. Charles we don't have to stop saying it. You keep talking like that if you want to got deal with the consequences of what happens when he talked like that. People have backlash people. We're not gonna agree with him. He you know might get in trouble but it is what it is. You gotta listen. He don't yeah he. Nobody's stopping from those. Some of the buses at the network are being cowards. With this whole cancel they probably just want him to heal charles. You've got to stop talking about fat people. Majority let him talk about anymore. He won't let them do it all right now. Let's talk about. Jay z his suing jonathan manian. Who's a photographer. Does a lot of hip hop photography and that is because he's been selling photos of jay z and profiting off his likeness without the rappers permission. So he hired. Jonathan mance photographer in the nineties and mania snapped hundreds of photographs of him per legal documents. That have been obtained by rolling stone. One of those photographs and we know this is the iconic one where jaycees wearing a suit and a hat holding a cigar that was a cover of reasonable doubt but he said manion was compensated for his work but never given permission to resell any of the images. He wasn't given permission to use his name. Likeness identity or persona for any purpose and he has no legal right to do so. According to the suit. Jay z has asked him to stop selling photos of him but manny and has refused and the lawsuit claims that manny and has now demanded jay z. Pay him tens of millions of dollars to put an end to using his likeness. A lot of photographers do that. Though you know they take pictures of you and then when you posted on instagram need they sue or they ask for money if he posted on your website stuff like that they say they own the rights to it. I'm just shocked. Jonathan would do that to somebody like jazy. I mean you shouldn't do that. The problem i think is him profiting off of it right and selling his likeness and selling prints they said. He's selling prints of the pictures on his website for thousands of dollars. I think that's why. I think it's the photographers take pictures of you. And so your pictures and then when you post pictures of yourself they sue you for your pictures of yourself. That sounds jonathan and my guy. Jonathan did both my book covers. But it's weird that he would do that to somebody like jay z because if jay z stops message to a lotta people might start messing with you. I mean future artists. You don't want that stain on your name. I could ask you to stop using his picks. Stop using his peaks. I just i just don't know they were tens of millions of dollars to me. Stop selling your likeness. Yeah i i just don't know how photography can take a picture of you and then when you post a picture of yourself. They say they want money for that. Or you want to buy the picture of your own. You have to pay for your own news. And his his art to play. Devil's advocate is his end of day though right. But i'm taking a picture of me so i should be charging you to take a picture of me. My likeness. yeah but it's the lens that it's me it's my personal odd the piggyback off withdrawal said also of you sign. A contract signed the rights over to that photographer photographer. Those pictures now but a lot of times photographers you you walk and you out and about in the photographer takes a picture carpet. Competent getty images here radio station post. Let's say to yourself crazy to me. It's tough to attend today. Though to as me they'd be able to profit off of like making prints of pictures and your likeness. I would like to hear jonathan's of the store he hasn't commented rolling stone did redoubts down and and jay z and they have not yet commented and that is your room a report. You gotta make that right withhold me hold is like the black godfather. You know what i mean. He got so much access to so many artists on many artists. Look up to him if they feel like home. Not messing with you. They may not shoot. That could mess of your business. You know what. I mean all right shout to revolt everybody else. The people's choice mixes up next to two mix breakfast global morning morning. Everybody is the envy into lee. The guy we oughta breakfast club neshat amigos for joining us. Coach at three is out right. Nah i mean listen. You got to celebrate amigo. That's why we celebrate them this morning. Because you know they've been the most impactful rap group for the past decade you know. They ought to father to a lot of different people style. "Give day. i'm a fat. No this is his man to dog and blows the tap what was going to be on the day. They chose you breakfast club bitch donkey. The day to day today for wanted to sixteen goes to a hospital worker in birmingham england. Name aisha by shirt issues twenty three years old and she works at heartland hospital which because of her at least for the moment should be known as heartless hospital now. Today's donkey today as a teachable moment. And it's as simple lesson one. We should all know and that is when you die. Life goes on the world will keep turning. The sun will come out tomorrow. The moon will set at night. Absolutely nothing is gonna stop when you cease to no longer exists in the physical form. Yes you that your family and friends mourn you hell. You may hope to trend on twitter for few hours. But what's guaranteed to happen is the world as we know it will move on mrs why you cannot live life for the people You know living life living your life other people living your life other folks. Validation is pointless okay. Live your life for you all right not to please other people's expectations. Because i promise you when you are in the ground nobody is going to truly care except the closest people to you and guess what dago move on with their life as well and this story is a prime example of that okay. Cia should boss. You're right works in kobe. Nineteen ward at heartland hospital in a eighty three year. Old woman who was a patient at the hospital died well. I don't know what the procedure is when a patient dies in your hospital worker. I'd like to know some all our hospital workers out there hit us up It's not like you have an emotional connection with the person it's not like the person is a family of friends so i don't expect you to be in tears grieving but there is a certain respect. What one must have for today. Correct even working as a hospital worker. You just can't get numb near death can you. Well i used to bash around his what. Some would call a cold peace with a cold hearts. The asia seventeen minutes after his eighty three year old woman was pronounced dead seventeen minutes after she was pronounced dead. She took this dead woman bankcard and use it to buy chips candy. In sodas from a vending machine. I totally get it. This eighty three owen can't take that money with her. What dead no respect for the dead. In england the author william gladstone once said show me the manner in which a nation our community cares for his dad and i will measure with math mathematical exactness that tended sympathies of its people their respect for the laws of the land and their loyalty to high ideals. Ideals here must be low. I'm not gonna judge the totality of twenty three year old. You know a woman's character foot is one situation would man. How can you not have some respect in reverence for a day. How hard is it to treat someone to where you would wanna be treated our treats them one way you would want them to treat your family members. How would you feel if your grandma a mother path and you found out. Someone used their bank card to buy some chili cheese. Fredo some orioles and a sprite seventeen minutes after they died. I mean damned body. Still warm land there. Can the next chain get contacted. Has the family been notified before you get the snacking on a dead person's dime also what makes you think you wouldn't get caught if you pronounced dead person you know dead at a certain time. Wouldn't someone see to bank transactions. All six of them that you made aisha after the time a definitely come on i issue another bad creation. Didn't make a whole classic record about you for you to be committing crimes like this. That was a reference kids. Google at your parents aunts and uncles. No exactly what. I'm talking about though. And yes she did. Commit a crime. She's being charged with theft and has been sentenced to five month jail term. It actually says to five month jail terms. What did that ten once. I don't know the marlins story is. She's going to jail and neither the consequences of her choices and her lack of respect for the day confucius said we should keep the dead before our eyes and honor them as still though living. We oughta breakfast club. We have assigned for ask us. Hello who's this alana alana. Which of course it for you. So i'm in. I started this relationship. But i'm about to leave to atlanta to start my own business And i want to know. Should i say orson is is embiid. Why do you have to end it. Well he's not coming with me. I don't it kinda new. So i don't know if i can trust along this relationship Listen baby girl. You haven't even tried it yet. How you ended somethin- just in anticipation of what might or might not happen. If you wanna give it a try long distance and see what happens. Maybe it'll work. Maybe it won't. But i don't know how you're trying to make these big decisions in a new relationship already. Yeah i mean he's a good guy but he also has a three month old daughter no mama city as his child you know i enjoy okay in detroit and first of all. I applaud people. Who even though. He's not with the mother he still wants to be there and take care of his child. I think that's an important thing i would think. It was the red flag if he picked up and moved to atlanta with a three month. Old in detroit. Why not just pick up and leave but at some point right and that's something that you can't predict like until you get to the point where there's a decision to be made. I don't know why you're making advanced decisions. Not based on anything. I feel like if you move and things don't work out then you move on. If you move maybe you are will still continue to grow close. Go and see each other. You'll come back to detroit. He'll come to atlanta and see you at times. Y'all go on vacations together. Long distance relationships can work. Okay so you wanna break up. That's what it sounds like. No i really don't wanna break though. Because he's really nice. Yeah give it a shot at listen. Sometimes you gotta take a risk. That's our relationships are even if you lived in the same city. It's still a risk true and it'll give you plenty of time to work on your new business in atlanta so every night job with talk. Yeah we'll facetime during the day. Get really close in that way or you won't but the worst thing that can happen is your break up. But i wouldn't and just break up with somebody who i really like and who's nice just because i'm moving. I was just curious. I right well. Good luck with your business. What is it causing pays. Charlie okay all right well. Good luck to. You was like okay party. I was trying to figure out what it was. I was to let you promote your new business. Thank you own. We'll be down there write girl. "Could copy those keys. If your copy any keys really dig about it. I could get an airbnb. Go copying right. So what is the safety here my life. Maybe there's a a password you can put on the door or something like that. Because that's why they were liable. Well yeah because that's that's a safety concern. And they talked about one woman especially if you own a home right. One woman talked about returning home from a trip to find. Her home ransacked her gets trashed her clothes burner belongings and smashed a hole through a lot closet door. They still her passport credit card laptop and hard drives and her grandmother's jewelry so she wrote a post about it. And that's when an airbnb co-founder contacted her and didn't offer her support instead said to remove the story from her blog because could hurt an upcoming funding round so that resulted in a public apology. A fifty thousand dollar damage guarantee for host at the time which now has been increased to one million dollars a twenty four hour customer support hotline and a new trust in safety department. So they're saying is grow so to the number of dangerous incidents that have happens. You gotta be careful. I've never stated. Aaron be and the reason why is for protection. I i like hotels. And the reason i like. Hotels is usually forms of protection. One is you have to go through the lobby and people have to see you to the library as always cameras to the lobby. Then you have to get an elevator and make it to my room and they want you get that elevated then. You have to have a key card to get in my room. So that's really three forms of protection because most a lot of hotels you have to use the key card to get elevator. That's why i've never stayed in airbnb right. Well you know the end. They've talked about it. The settlements right according to bloomberg businessweek they said in recent years airbnb spent an average about fifty million dollars annually on payouts to host and guests including on legal sediments and legal settlements damage to homes now airbnb response is that most of their payouts are related to property damage under their host guarantee insurance program and that even sicker settlements are exceptionally rare. So his anybody. Here's an airbnb. Ninety off yeah. No i mean i've rented houses but not airbnb f- all right well. This is just something to keep your eye on because they are very secretive about it and some of their former employees are now speaking but they have sign. Nda so They have to be really careful about what they say. Rent homes or leave the country on vacation All right well. That is your front page news. All right. yeah. But i i. I don't airbnb I mean. I guess eventing avila even if it's not on airbnb is just as dangerous because anything can happen. Is somebody's house going to rental rental property a lot of times especially out the country that gade pretending security is a little different than just popping up getting akia walk and and would those rentals. There's maintenance they come clean the rooms. They come change the sheets like standing up here. But he's just written a day right he had never. "Minute for me Sports Network exit in Esports organization founded by three former FaZe Clan execs and Mark Romero has continued to expand since it was founded this past summer. I've had the four Founders on the E Sports Network podcast split across two episodes. I think they have a unique vision for the org one big focus of theirs is the crossover with the music world LED primarily by DJ Clinton Sparks One of the founders yesterday that music crossover went to another level as exit received an investment from quality control a leading record label quality control or QC is a record label primarily foam on rap with major artists like Migos Lil. Yachty cardi B and the baby on its roster we've seen a lot more artists get involved with these Sports in the past years Drake is an investor in 100 thieves rektglobal has quite a few dead. Breland Talks Country, Hip Hop And Protests

"The music video for the hit song. My truck starts off like mini country music videos, country star Sam honey with a wide brimmed hat walks through a cloud of dust. Yoke and drank my leg. Come you. Can Take Mama and Yuka small. Schools these horns you can say you hate me you. Down to my truck. Then a young black man appears wire brimmed glasses and a huge grand shoves him out of the frame. Out. At the start of this year, he was just a recent college graduate trying to break into music then truck up and the song hit number one on spotify viral fifty chart back in February. The music video now has over twenty four million views and counting religious music defies definition. He's country trap hip hop aren be and so much more, and he joins us now from his home in Nashville to reflect on his music and his life as part of our series on how artists are reimagining and reflecting the current moment in their work. Thanks so much for being here. Thank you for having such a glowing introduction to bring you with me everywhere now. Oh Yeah I'll do it. So you're a recent college Grad, writing songs trying to break down the doors of the music business, and then all of a sudden you're going viral with this country song what what was it that actually got you to try your hand at Country Music Just. Always trying to do things that I think can can push the boundaries. I don't like to feel stagnant. So this was kind of came about kind of a challenge show in the studio with with some friends of mine, and we were kind of talking about the new wave of. Country Crossover records that had been that have been coming out like Old Town road and I was just like I feel like I can make a song like that and it would be pretty dope and they were like Nah man you can't make like that and I was like, okay challenge accepted so. Just started. Working on it and was able to come up with something. I guess that that stuck with people you've mentioned other artists like a little gnaws, of course, with Old Town road We also know though about the massive debate over what country is and who country belongs to. What is country to? country to me is a genre of music that is really just defined by strong songwriting and storytelling I think anyone can can make it. I think anyone can you know their based country music stars who are from? Other countries you know between. Fine and have been there some others, and then it really just comes down to the music and then whether or not people accept you I want to deepen that a little bit though because the New York Times reports that my truck isn't really picking up steam on traditional country music stations which are known to be pretty conservative. Do you even about that? I mean it would be it would be nice to have gotten more country radio support I. Think like Sirius Xm, the highways played it a lot. But in terms of traditional country radio, I don't think we got any spends I was hoping when I put Sam Hi on the remixed that would have probably validated it a little bit but it wasn't quite enough and I I understand it though because if you listen to country radio, it's. Tends to be wide dudes over forty so. For me to be a twenty five year old black dude. I, have a song, eight hundred weights and like hip hop production on it like it would've been a lot different than what was currently being played. My thing is if all of these country music fans are these a lot of them who are under thirty for example, are also listening to like drake and Migos, and even like our day and those cat, why do they have to leave the genre to get their fix of like bars and like hard beats like I feel like? Especially, with after after my truck came out I, realized that audience needs music and I know how to make it and I can I kinda stand in my in my own lane and help carve out a sub genre of music that speaks to the millennial modern country fan

Takeoff, member of Migos, is accused of rape in lawsuit

"Takeoff from Migas has been a accused of raping an unknown unnamed woman in a at a party in June and Los Angeles. Now, this lawsuit says she was invited by their D. J. He was staring at her the whole time. She didn't like it, she told the deejay walked away, went upstairs to the DJs room and laid in his bed. The deejay and takeoff exchange. Words, then take off walked into the room. It happened immediately after she sought medical care at a nearby hospital for sad quote, observed visible evidence of rape. On the LAPD has on open investigation going. They did not comment any further. But, uh, I mean, she went to the hospital read afterwards, she's filing a lawsuit. It's literally two months after it happened, Not maybe a little over a month since it's happened, So it's not like she waited it so it doesn't look good. They're going right away for medical treatment. Is that going I know that that's really leans towards her argument. You watch law and order s view as much as I do, And that's what they always say. Well, why didn't you go get help right away. She's she did. Yeah, There's a lot of graphic details about it. I don't want to go too far into it. Matt Dillahunty & Scott Clifton: Christian Husband and Atheist Wife

"Let's try Josh in Tennessee. Area There Josh. Hi, this is Josh. You're almost got mad. How are you josh? Hi. I'm. Just wanted I. Actually my life wanted me to call in she's. She's an atheist. I'm. I'm a Christian and so you know. so she's she's. She's really on top of her. Bible, knowledge and And so we're always kind of you know. She's trying to prove God and I'm trying to prove that it's it's the. So her. Yeah I just I just kind of I kind of feel like there's so many. Different personal experiences with with God. that that kind of Kind proves that. That he does exist and Even, we can't see him. But we can certainly. Feel that he is, he's around and in my opinion. How would your wife respond to that she? Basically. Just says that. You got to prove it. and. You mentioned you mentioned personal experiences. You mentioned personal experiences with God I'm wondering if you could give an example of a personal experience with God, and how you know that it's a personal experience of God, because there are people who claim personal experiences with all kinds of gods and with alien abductions and other. How do we know that because you've experienced something that you think is an experience with God that you're right? Prayer and just going kinda going through the motions. Basically, it's you know when obviously everyone has their hard times and everyone has has good times, and I'll let me fallen on hard times. Read you know we. Just. My personal experience I've. You know there's there's You Know God is always proven himself to. You. Know to help me. In the end. So any struggle that had. been really me down completely but I've always. Came out better on the other side yeah. So I understand what you believe happened when I was Africa's. How can we know that's what happened like? You think that God has helped you God spoke to you and you've had some experience God's help you in trying times. How do we show that that's true? Not just you think that God has helped you in those trying to. Well, it's I guess. It's. You. Get that feeling I. Don't know you ever heard of. God bombs like Kinda like the. migos! was bumped channels. You just kind of just get that overwhelming feeling that he's there and yes, so for the record I'm a former Southern Baptist who was going to be a preacher, and who has stood in church, and while praising and singing I've had God bumps goosebumps. EUPHORIA BEEN ECSTATIC convinced that I was in the presence of Holy Spirit. But that's what I was convinced at the. And when investigating and it turns out that I can't demonstrate that that was true. There's no good reason to think it was true. So a couple of occasions here of asked you. How would you know that this is true? And you just keep coming back with the you're convinced. I mean how could all all? It's got jumping because he may have a different take on this but Hawkins. Scott and I know that when you experience God, you're actually experienced God, and not just saying you're experiencing go. I guess that's based on on. You know it's a I would say we you have the. Believe in the Bible and I consider the Bible history, but it's. Don't did all the way from From the old Old Testament New Testament sold. It's basically basically history book. and. you know a lot of the things that? Happened in the Bible reaching kind of some. You can use in our personal experiences and. And I and I do I. Do know that my wife. I obviously pointed out the scriptures that are you know are bad and stuff like that and I get all that you know what about the ones that aren't true like when you go to genesis and the order of events in creation, don't match up with what science says. The order of events would be. Doesn't that Kinda show that that's not accurate. I'm I san as far as you know but we really don't long. What really happened in the beginning? So I mean, but we know there was never a time where there was one man and one woman whose names we knew who were. The originators and progenitor of the entire human species. We know that's not true. Well, we don't. Do, go ahead Scott? Yes. Sure so a Josh a couple of things. Stood out in in what you said. Was that You know based on your experiences? Whenever you've had a hard time, it was God that lifted you up again. Are you familiar with? Confirmation bias this this this biased that we do where we kinda count hits and ignore the MRS, when it comes to interpreting data in light of what we already believe like like. If you're driving on the road and you have this, you have this belief that Asians are bad drivers right anytime. Somebody cuts you off and they happen to be Asian you'RE GONNA. GonNa go see see I, told you. Asians were bad drivers, but you're exploring the hundreds of times. Somebody cuts you off and they're not Asian or the hundreds of times. Somebody doesn't cut you off and they are Asian do. Do you know that that concept where we we kinda? Pick out what fits with our previously existing worldview when we ignore the rest. On my idea I mean I i. See what you're saying that. You know yeah, so. Do you think it's? Possible that the your doing that. I mean when you say that every time you've had a hard time in life God lifted you up again. Is it possible that you're remembering all the times that maybe you prayed and you felt like that prayer was answered, but you're forgetting the hundreds more times when you're having a hard time and God didn't answer you, and maybe maybe you explain that away. Away by saying God works in mysterious ways or got has a lot of people to take care of or God wanted me to learn a lesson from this, but doesn't it seem like we live in a world? That's indistinguishable from God, not existing at all. Would you be saying the same thing if you were a refugee family in in Saudi, Arabia or You see what I'm saying.

An Interview with Jamie Bell of 'Skin'

"His popcorn where I tell you what's happening at the movies and I'm going to tell you about a movie called skin. Today you already know about a movie called rocket man. They both starred my guest Jamie Bow. I don't know when you have time your new father again. GotTa hang out with your kid true. <hes> I'm not working right now. Okay so it's all good. It's all good now. We can see by this with skin in the poster and this is a true story. I knew nothing about the story you know when I whenever the script the first time time you know as a movie that <hes> <hes> with with everything that was going on the news it was quite an century was a movie that felt very urgent yeah exactly and I felt like it. It Sean a light on something that <hes> I think ordinarily we could choose to ignore and I think any kind of normalization of this is dangerous. <hes> there's obviously a redemptive element to this and no as the phone kind of tying things up in a nice boat because life isn't like that right but we'll tell us a little bit though for those people that don't that you're playing somebody who decides basically the PAT. He took as a white supremacist is not the way he should go and how basically you get rid of that. I really love how literally he tries to get rid of that ink that stuff on his. Let's get to do it but it's a way to dramatize what he's doing what he's ripping off. I mean like the Brian wine was a career <hes> Neo Nazi that worries when when we first meet him he's completely linked up from that to <hes> and he's the way the journey the characters very much one of an unconscious man who comes to an awakening <hes> <hes> he he realizes the choices he has made a bad ones. He meets this woman who changes his life forever. She has these beautiful goes. He becomes obsessed with and he tries to get himself fat which for a lot of people who try and do that has a lot of very grave consequences but it's difficult. I think for these people to leave the ideology so strong <hes> there's almost kind of <hes> this <hes> almost an addictive quality to to to the to the families that they're in into these groups that are in most of these people are very very wayward within get involved with this <hes>. Suddenly you belong should they have. They have a <hes>. They feel like that. There's a pat on the back and there's a kind of a good job. <hes> <hes> said by somebody so <hes> yeah this. Is this the real hero the stories this guy called Daryl Lamont Jenkins. He worked for the one people's project. He is literally the people out in the street opposing these people and he can spot the good in some of these people in with an amazing sense of compassion reach out to them and and and say you know I can get you out of this if you're willing and he does US and through two years of Surgery Brian is given a gift. It's all removed from his face and and he has the potential to change his life and start again. Well we watch the movie and we can by watching the movie and watching your performance and watching how it's done put ourselves in that position kid but it's hard in the beginning with it hard for you when they said. Would you play this guy he I think so I was kind of a kind of moral see-saw for me. I like the first time I talked to the real. Brian was the dish Charlottesville for example. I remember ending that conversation with him and calling the director immediately after thinking <hes>. I don't think this is a good idea. I think this is some uh-huh feels the wrong time to tell the story <hes> also filmmaker by the way is Israeli filmmaker <hes> <hes> his yeah exactly his family went through the atrocities of the Holocaust. I'm so for him to want to tell the story and have that unique sense of compassionate <hes> that extension of kindness. I thought it was quite interesting. <hes> uh-huh and again you know when I would walk around <hes> the small town of Kingston was shot this film it would have been covered in tattoos and human nature is to usually ignore the monster next they don't. WanNa look at things that are challenging in any way or scary yeah. They look and I feel like that if we do that as a culture that's dangerous because we can radically normalize. These kinds of people and I think that's very dangerous so hopefully this film. If nothing else is going to wake up call we don't see him in a really good light in the beginning. No no no no and we're basically seeing somebody where you do. WanNa look away not just because of the tattoos you WanNa look away because you're thinking this is reprehensible bowl. What's your he's a character. In initially who is completely detached from <hes> empathy he's detached from compassionate and love from kindness <hes> he's. He's literally I think he's Com- completely lost touch with his ideology even means he's in a drunken stupor most of the time <hes> and he's he's indoctrinated by these people. I mean the the ideology that this group follow is based in kind of Viking Odin mythology which is about bloodlines and just complete nonsense so <hes> sure it was about that character finding something in this <hes> Julie Character Daniel McDonald placed finding some sense of stability and finding that there are these chasms of empathy Kathy that he has and tenderness and <hes> and suddenly that coming to the surface is a family that is kind of ready made for him knocked his family and he begins to see a bigger world through them and she's really good. She's an incredible downtown yeah yeah. That's quite remarkable. You see that through this movie I mean the performances are all spectacular that people are giving especially when you see veer for Migo Goer Bill camp or people play that people you really don't yeah I mean I gotta say especially with some like very much of that was kind of unscripted and she really just turned up and we didn't have much prep time with her at all and she just came in doing this wonderful. Three dimensional fully realized character that was really a scary to all of us the places she was phenomenal whenever I felt like literally terrified and I was meant to be the one that was scary which is great eight but it was it was a hardship I think for all of us. We all knew what was in the headlines. We all knew the kind of will that we were living in and and now important this was to portray these people the way they are and I think what about this menu playing. What was your relationship with him complicated <hes> purely because of the things he's done you know I i.? I'm someone who finds forgiveness quite difficult to come by. You know <hes>. I really liked to hold people accountable for their actions. <HES> I go meet with them. He's in the witness protection program and I spent like a week just kind of chatting to him and mostly talking about <hes> with them about stuff that wasn't in the script his childhood and <hes> you know <hes> what it's early life was like <hes> he's the other thing about him as if if you didn't know that he wants look like that. I mean ee you would have no idea that he was once covered in from I mean he has been given a gift. He's been given a new lease on life but he's an extremely paranoid person. He lives in constant fear. He's he lives in constant reckoning and that that's what he has to atone for for the things. He's <hes> things he's done. The great thing that you literally do and that we see in this is that we see somebody removed food than ink and then we wonder that gone you could take it away goes but what has to come away has to come from here and from here as well. That's only proven through action. That's only proven to <hes> but I think certainly right now. I think it's worthwhile question to ask how much compassionate we have and how far does that go and in the hope and this movie for me is that there really is <hes> the kindness of strangers people like. Dr Lamont Jenkins who might call to pleasants phone is solely responsible for getting mad at this movement you know <hes> the the money and the funds that were provided for surgery provided by an anonymous donor <hes> you know if anything that's the hope of the the move me is that there are there are human beings out there willing to extend this compassion and to say I'll. I'll extend myself if you do but you do that as an actor right when you're putting on somebody's skin no matter what part you're playing whether there's any disguise into what do what made you do this. I mean I know Billy Elliot. It is the beginning and Billy Elliot is a lot like you yeah well. He that movie exactly like me yeah. I mean anything. All of this show the old. You said yes sure it was a time when a film set for me that movie <hes> I remember being very overwhelming like God circus really did come to town and now the cameras pointing at me and this is very extreme and just really trusting got like I had no idea what I was doing this film and the decision to make this <hes> was one about really challenging myself and seeing <hes>. Is it possible to completely transform myself to degree. I'd never done before for <hes> and it was still challenging. Thing that is one of the most challenging things for me was was not holding the character in any form of judgement. That's what they always say like. ECON judge yes you difficult the circumstances of course <hes> it was important that I met him and introduced myself and everything else but then also just that that level of detachment that the character has and the reason I bring up Billy Elliot in addition to being such a seminal thing for you and what was happening to you is that you're bringing brought. Brought up this way you you've got a sister who's a dancer. You know this is. This is so much like you and yet. There's all these cameras around. I'm sure you're saying what what what my way through that movie for the first time you know but I think also me. I'd never met my father before <hes> the relationship that billy has with his father in that film is very challenging. Certainly this is a character who certainly lacked male presents a male role model and that guidance and that leadership that is looking for Elton John when he saw Billy Elliot and Ken wept he was weeping when I met him when supposedly easy in the movie version before he writes the kid when you're a kid yes exactly he's weeping. He's weeping because he his own a father <hes> he's he's passed but <hes> <hes> as if you've seen we have very good relations with his own sexuality and everything else and I think the most heartbreaking thing for him was that he never showed up to one of the show's not one so I think when Billy's father tons up into that film and tons up for his son and ED performing with the Royal Ballet School I think that really destroyed him but you know that the looking up to people in having examples and they're so crucial crucial is so important you know <hes> in this instance maybe Brian his life would have done it differently. What happens now after you meet l.. Well John Again and you're playing burnt-out movie. It's like really weird. I don't know what the next connection is very strange because obviously did the musical <hes>. Lee Hall who wrote wrote the musical euro rocket man. There's a kind of cosmic tethers to this <music> <hes> and I love that as top in it which is again antithesis to this character is such a loving supportive accepting human being and such a loyal oil friend <hes> it was really nice after doing this which is quite an unpleasant experience <hes> <hes> to play a character like that. That was just someone who so I'm lovely. So is that made you have years and years of therapy are have you been living sort of relatively normal life. I mean I would. I hope relatively normal. It seems relatively normal to me. <hes> you know I mean I think it's all relative experience but I think you know works for me is a real form of therapy. Get to play some characters from lots of different places in different walks of life and <hes> <hes> that to me is very interesting. I get to meet all the people that I'm playing most of the time with US revolutionary <hes> he's he's long since passed. Even people P turn. I did a phone call. Film Stars don't die in Liverpool with Annette Benning. He was around. He was extremely useful. Extremely love the guy to hang out with.

"Really to trust the spirit speak for the word speak to you. As we always want to do. But the first thing we're going to see is question of whose shaping us. Are we being shaped by our circumstances? Or we being shaped by the story of stories that is centered on Jesus Christ. As you look at these men beginning at verse thirteen that very day. That is the resurrection day they were traveling and they had unmet expectations. We see their unmet expectations beginning verse twenty one we had hoped that this Jesus would be the one who would redeem Israel. What did they experience? Instead verse twenty tells us that the chief priests and the rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death and crucified him. You see the story of the two men was they had had expect. -tations for life four following Jesus. Those expectations had been met. They were in fact, spiriting discouragment and despondency. Here's a question. We have to ask though, were they completely blindsided. Did they know this was coming the answers? Of course, they knew it's right here in the narrative, you can look back in chapter twenty four hope that your bible is still open in beginning. At verse five we see that when the women came to the grave. They saw an angel the angel said to them I love this. Why do you seek the living among the dead? He's not here. But he has risen now. If you have a bible circle this next word, remember how he told you? He was still in Galilee. The son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified on the third day rise. Remember ecorse? The two men had heard the head just chose not to listen in more than that. If you keep falling down. Narrative the women went and they told the disciples in verse eleven says, but the word seem to them in. I'd tale. The disciples had heard Jesus teach. The hid been reminded by an angel. Here's just a free piece of advice for Migo free of charge value, right? If an angel talks to you, listen. But they ignored it. And not only that. But when the women came were like, oh, just an idle tale. That's just a fairy tale. It's not really true Jesus didn't rise. Really? Of course, they had been warned. But their circumstances spoke louder than the truth as they travelled rather than trusting the facts of the gospel that had been accomplished the.

Why do you think he's nominated? They're saying they're sitting in a nowhere. Now. Apparently we were going to a game to watch Cal State Northridge their season finale season finale as we were heading there. We got an update that Mark Godfrey to officially in hall. Payment plan so much that he was writing checks himself. Congratulations Bagai nominee. Oh, no. I don't remember that count. That sounds crazy. That sounds the next nominee for bag of the year. Devante smarts guy called came up in conversation. And we'll wait again, of course, was dismissed ad in the LSU. Schmidt. Nice will run the tournament without him. But we'll wait how many for bad guys. And finally our final nominee for Bagai of the year is Jeff capable. You're defending champion as I said takes over at last year. He won forgetting Williamson to Duke this year. I believe he's nominated for as I said earlier win landing the best recruiting class in the last five years at Pittsburgh within two months of being on the job. So those are nominees and the Duffy goes to. We'll waive while for his strong offer. Devante smart. So yeah, it had to be. We'll wait. I guess that makes the most sense to me in the sense that I mean this man was Margaret for the bag. He went down for the bag and Somalia's way to the bottom. Yeah. And he never broke character. No, never an interview news broke that he was going down and he handled it maybe not maybe not Shawn Miller ask, but he handled it. He was interesting to say, the least I still have my office keys. Everything's going. Well, so we'll way congratulations Bagai the year. That is a big big tip of the cap to think about this. Who just won the national championship and won Duffy last year for good guy. The year is now nominated for coach of the year Tate. Congratulations, coach Bennett next nominee. We have for coach of the year was the runner up to that team. And that is of course, Texas Tech head coach Chris beard, Arthur nominee is Matt painter of Purdue who took produced to the elite eight for the first time since two thousand nine and nineteen years almost made the final four almost almost so close hang the banner anyway off yet who gives a shit. You don't have anything else to hang so Robbie Hummel because man the man was poor. He was broken about every lashing out at us three thing. He he's throwing a lot of insults. Our way your way, very direct because we did it. We did the trash talking segment and one of he was talking trash about high never played in the one of the lines the one that I'd know cut him, the deepest. I said something about his knees. I don't think that wouldn't even bother is what I said that I personally been more final fours in last four years than produce entire program that has to sting that had distinct a little bit. And then he started lashing out. To me. And granted you tape..

Travis Scott, Missy Elliott. Dave Matthews band, Janelle Monae and ferrall and friends. Wow. So that's already like a huge list. But there's more. Have time to read. Everybody list is huge. It looks like like Coachella lineup where you've got all the big names in the little names underneath it. Right. We do know that it will happen. The weekend of April twenty six twenty seven twenty eight that's the same week in his college beach weekend. And we're pretty sure tickets are going seal. Yeah. But we don't know how much. So we don't know much. It's always changing, but I will say the thing that you should be really really paying attention to is the Furlan friends because I feel like if you look on that list, you can go well for unannounced, any of those people that's on the list, and that takes away from the quote, unquote, friends, who are these friends that's true. To keep thinking of I keep thinking of that fade to black concert. The Jay Z did what he said. I'm retiring after this album. So he went to Madison Square Garden and everybody he's ever worked with was back stage like for L came on a couple of songs, Mary J Blige came out. I mean, everybody came out during this evening R Kelly I think showed up for that concert. So, but but yeah. So that's what I keep thinking this. Maybe maybe this'll be forever version of that. Yeah. Well, everybody I've worked with over the years comes into town. And does a great song or two and becomes the best concert. You've ever seen lying ever is going to be it's going to be pretty and Coachella incredible. Yeah. That's me. Cool exciting coming up on the next one of your favorite. Baseball movies is actually being turned into to TV show. And you won't be mad though, because it's a reboot. This is. Three. Movies probably of all time..

'Green Book' suffers from Hollywood's Common 'Magical Negro' Problem

"I know we talked about green book Schorr did. But the Oscars are this Sunday. And this will be might win best picture Lord. No Roma please let Roma win. I think we have to talk about it. Because there's one scene that I cannot get out of my mind. Okay. Which one so it's the scene were Tony Villalonga. Who is the Italian American guy from the Bronx who's been hired to drive. Don, Shirley, this black musician, two gigs. Okay. So it's a scene where Tony saves dawn from a bunch of unruly racist at a bar. I mean, I can imagine. What bothered you about that? But why bother you? This scene is meant to teach the audience that the guys that are beating up Don are the real racists. And Tony is kind of like a milk toast racist. He's not that bad of a racist. He's only ever called Don a couple of names behind his back and kind to face and the whole movie up into this point has given you the impression that Tony doesn't like black people. But the moment the movie takes you into the scene in the bar. You understand actually these are the real racist because they're capable of physical violence against someone just because they're black and Tony he's not really a bad guy after all a little bit of needing. He needs a little bit of coaxing. But you know, what he's actually on the right side of things, and you can bring him back over to the right side to the good side of history. And it's inferior eating it's infuriating Wesley. The idea that racism is only bad if it escalates into physical violence, and that's the tiny little microaggressions things that dehumanize. Is and demoralize and stereotype aren't actually really bad types of racism after all, so maybe they get a pass. Right. It feels like a very sanitize seen about racial mix that's designed specifically to make audiences fill better about themselves, and is amazing that you're bringing this up on the weekend of the Academy Awards. Yes. These same Academy Awards in which green book is nominated for five Oscars and is likely to win two or three including picture. Yeah. And you know, it's in company with movies like star is born in the favorite and vice about Dick Cheney, and of course, black klansman and Black Panther, right? Boy, if green book does win it'll be a really good company with the best picture winners of the last thirty years specifically when it comes to films about race, right? I just think America is obsessed with this sort of racial healing fantasy where there is a work that like being near. A black person can do to rehabilitate prejudice people and all that rubbing up against yelling at friction tension touching. Hugging. Driving will bring him to the light. Right. It's its own trope. Yeah. Right. What other films in the past have done this? What are you thinking about? I don't know. I mean, if we're just staying in the in the thirty year window, something like Forrest Gump. Ninety four win best picture ninety five the story of the very simple man name. Forrest Gump mom, always said life was lack of box chocolates sits on a bench and start just talking to anybody who sits down next to him about his his life. Never know what you're going to get. He winds up befriending. This other guy named Bubba Goodall. Bubba good day. You can catch pounds. Shrimp. Shrimp is the fruit of deceit. You can vote ball broad bike it so both have the same IQ. But the point is that force is the person on the journey and a person like Bubba is another step along the way. So one of which puts them on campus when George Wallace's denouncing the integration of university of Alabama. Right. And part of that sequence when Vivian Malone was one of the new black students drops her notebook on the way inside the school, the visual effects, people make it. So that forced picks up the notebook enhance it to Vivian. And it's just weird to me. Like, you realize like that like the movies about forest, not Vivian who? I would say has a much more interesting American story to tell. I country is all about and it isn't the forest gets made a better person because of black people. But it is the forest gets to look scans or not even see a lot of the problems in this country, all of which are shoulder by Jenny who played by Robin rate who is near some Black Panthers who do nothing when she's beaten up by her white piece boyfriend, the racial politics. This movie are crazy anyway, all the politics in this movie to be fair are crazy, but they all sort of benefit for his Gump the fantasy here, of course, if you're good enough and simple enough, America's racial problems can be hailed give this movie a best picture Oscar. Okay. I mean, what else crash best picture winner a two thousand six Lord. A movie. So frightening. The Geno worth refuses to watch it facts facts, only, basically, it's one of these race and racism are driving. Everybody in Los Angeles out of their minds, the Persians the Mexicans the white people the black people, but the thing that really takes me out. His you have all of these different people of different races all being nasty to each other because of race, but guess who the redeemed characters are in this movie. Oh my God. I don't even want to know, Sandra. Bullock, of course, like the second biggest racist in the movie, she gets carjacked, by ludicrous and Lorenzo Tate. Maybe I'm Alexis really tough. My think it'd be best. If you just went upstairs random, wait for them to break in. I just had a gun pointed in my favorite lower. Your voice was my fault. Because I knew it was going to happen. But the white person's he's two black men walking towards her. And she turns and walks in the other direction. She's a racist. Right. Well, I. Got scared, and I didn't say anything attend seconds later. I had a gun in my face. Now. I am telling you you're a Migo in. There is going to sell are key to one of his homes and miss time. It'd be really fucking great. If you acted like you actually gave us shit. And then what happens? She falls down the steps on a lot of pain killers or something. And decides at her Mexican-made Maria is her new best friend. I assume area wants to go home. But you know, we don't know 'cause movies out about Maria. It's about Sandra Bullock, but the real star that movie is Matt Dillon racists cop. Matt Dillon feels up Tandy Newton at a traffic doesn't like black people, but certainly put his hands all over a black woman. So she gets into a horrible car crash cars on fire cast who comes in to save the day. Hear me permissible be your. To get an extinguisher. Good that fire. Best supporting actor nomination for that gentleman. Okay. I'll get you out not Dylan approves he's not a racist because he's capable of saving some black person's life. Even after he's violated it and then driving miss daisy. Of this sort of problem. And it wins. Best picture nineteen ninety came out in eighty nine huge hit. Yeah. Better movie than you think. Actually, because I think it understands the thing that you and I are talking about right? There is something inherently impossible about black people and white people being friends at least, according to the way, the country is set up to like have both those friends be equal in the friendship. So it is a story of this old Jewish woman. Daisy were them. Sorry. This old named daisy were than related I hope. hope Not. not. Our son bully hires Hoke Morgan Freeman to drive her. And home nowhere else.

Now, if Corey wins, he obviously wouldn't be the first African American presidents, but he would make history as the first president named Cory which might be an even bigger achievements. Yeah. Corey is not the name of a president core is the name of the hot guy in high school who now runs these dad gestation. That's what that is. Well, though, I will say he's already got one advantage on Trump. He's wind proof that'll work. And finally Saturday was groundhog day, which leads me to ask what the hell is groundhog day. People put a rodents out of the ground. And then they asked the animal to predict the weather. This is so unfair because if Africans were doing shit like this, and you heard that we pulled animals out of ground, but there are villages in Africa where people were animals skill skin. And if I tried to explain that Americans used groundhog's to predict the weather they'd be like, oh, but why not use this data? What's going on in America? All right. Let's move on to our top story. The governor of Judea if you had most people to pick his face out of lineup. They probably would have been like, I guess the bald eagle in the wig off this weekend. Everyone knows the governor of Judea and for all the wrong reasons. Breaking tonight, a racist yearbook photo taken over three decades ago has surface this picture of two unidentified individuals one painted in black face, the other K K K, robe and hood appears on the nineteen Eighty-four medical school yearbook page of current Virginia. Governor Ralph Northam the photo triggering calls for Northerns whereas nation north and says, I am deeply sorry for the decision. I made to appear as I did in this photo and further hurt that decision caused then. And now, I cannot change the decision I made, but I accept responsibility for my past actions. And I'm ready to do the hard work of regaining your trust. Wow. Black face and a Klan outfit. And the same photo these are two things that should never see the light of day kind of like, Adam Levine's nipples. So on Friday Virginia's democratic governor. Ralph Northam admitted to being one of the people in this old yearbook photo, right? But he didn't say which person he was and I don't blame him because neither option is good. It's taking a trip and your only choices are the Titanic and spirit airlines. Yeah. I mean, at least on the Titanic, you might get Leo. But I mean. Although I will say I suppose admitting to black face is actually worse. Yeah. Because then everyone's mad at you. But if you say, you're a Clinton, but now you're part of a community upside. You know, what the real shame is is that if these one costumes, and it was a black guy in a clan member having a drink together. This would be a huge step forward, racial hominy. We did it folks. But because it was costumes it's extremely offensive and to his credit governor north and came out, and he apologized for being in the photo to his credit. He took it back the next day north now backtracking the governor saying that after a closer, look, it's not him. But he doesn't mitt to wearing black face at one point in the past my belief that I did not wear that costume or attend that party stems in part from my clear memory of other mistakes. I made in the same period of my life. That same year. I did participate in a dance contest in San Antonio in which darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume. Guys alleged of his new defense is that he knows he didn't do this black face because he clearly remembers doing different black face. Although it does make it more believable that it wasn't him in the photo because who would defend themselves by admitting to a different crime your honor. That's had anybody that had measles is is is more likely candidate for getting it just comes down to very painful. I know. But I I want to focus on measles today. I'm just I'm looking at we got we got a measles outbreak. That's the problem. It's all of a sudden growing, leaps and bounds. I hate to see the government get more involved in our lives. But I think you have to draw the line if you're gonna send your child to a public institution or they're exposed to many. Many different children. Of a varying degrees of immune immune status. I think it's important. I require it is is not unreasonable. I'm I'm right there. You want your child vaccinated don't send them to public school? Yeah. That's exactly right guy. You gotta you. Gotta follow the rules. All right Kirk. Thank you very much. Caroline. We got you back on the on the on a good phone. I hope I. Yeah. Yeah. Tom. Can you hear me better? You can hear you perfect. Well, really good point. We don't trust government. We don't trust big pharma. We don't trust the media. And just recently, she'll Adkison I know, you know, who she is brought out a a guy a doctor said organization canned him because he said that there is a segment of the population that does get autism because of vaccinations is that the doctor for is that the doctor from England. He was one of the doctors. A doctor from England who has been absolutely excoriated by everybody because of the fact that he has. All kinds of publications, and and comments and writes things that are not held up by any other part of medical science Kook. I think that's him. I heard him interviewed. He didn't have an English accent. This guy used to work for the World Health Organization. They canned him. I don't think he wrote books about it. But he had written a every point years ago, and they did not want that to get out. But that that is not actually why I called I had the measles. All my friends had the measles. It is not the bluebonnets plague. It.
