Anyway, let's get serious for moment. A federal court judge here in Boston yesterday. Agreed with a couple of district attorney's from Massachusetts. The district attorney's of Suffolk and Middlesex County and agreed to bar immigration agents from arresting fugitives in any Massachusetts courthouse. And with us on the line is Joe an L. The, the reporter investigative reporter of the Boston Herald last night, Joe, I mentioned, your name because you had followed through on the story. We talked about last week and filed a freedom of information act at the state courts in Massachusetts to admit to you that they paid was one hundred twenty seven. Two thousand fifty three dollars and ten cents to a lawyer on behalf of a state judge. That is under federal indictment, so kudos forgetting that information looks to me like this, this judge in, in my opinion, my humble opinion, this judge Indira tell Wani. Might have a little bit of a conflict of interest. She's an appointee of President Barack Obama going back to two thousand fourteen but I guess you found out that, that she had expressed a fairly strong opinion on this issue. Previously right the the center for immigration studies, their DC think-tank on all things immigration. They've been tracking our and base. They reported and I dug up that he has has spoken out from the bench here in Boston. Choose upset that a prosecutor allowed in her words, the immigration offices to sit in on her court when a student from China by Chinese national was being sentenced for visa fraud. And they stay quotas is saying this is the judge speaking here quoting to the center for immigration studies, quote. I'm upset at the notion that thinks a courtroom is a place to go and pick up people. So she said it in court, and I agree with you. That is being pointed out that this could be grounds for an appeal, but certainly should be grounds for an appeal. I don't understand the even the theory on on Monday night. We had met US, attorney, US attorney for Massachusetts into letting in studio, and we asked him about this, this case it had not been decided, and he, he expressed to me and to Nancy, who, by the way is alongside tonight in studio. Our producer, no Niyazi shack expressed to me. I thought pretty solid rationale. Why accord house might be a pretty good place to pick up someone who's wanted on some sort of a federal warrant or federal detainers and he talked about it's it's safer. It's safer for the agents to do that, as opposed to trying to arrest people in, in, in an apartment building or out on the street this into lowering and, and I want people to listen to this. And I want to find out who you agree with the agree with the judge and the district attorney's district. Attorney Ryan in Rollins Rollins of Suffolk County and Marian. Ryan, Rachel Rollins of Suffolk County Marian. Ryan a Middlesex County or the US attorney into letting talking about the need for ice agents to have access to the courts. Pretty obvious. Why is an issue so important that ice agents should be able to be in it wherever they need to be to enforce the law up to, and including courthouses, because I think that's the federal argument as I understand, is going on here. One is the majority of arrests that ice makes are not in court houses, you just hear about the courthouse issue all the time. So it seems like it happens. More than actually happens. One of the reasons why ice officers Yaro officers, make these arrests in courthouses is because state authorities at jails will no longer cooperate with the ice officers. And the ice officers are looking for a safe environment in which no one's going to get hurt when they make the arrest so often what they are targeting is people who are in the country illegally and who've committed some other crime, like drug, dealing, you want to arrest that person environment, where they're not going to be armed. So you can go arrest them in a working class neighborhood and Lawrence. Or you could go arrest them at a courthouse. Reno no one's gonna get hurt. You'd rather rest them at the courthouse. And of course, anyone who's inside courthouse has to pass through a metal detector, and that would diminish the likelihood that that'd be hearing a heavy duty weapon. So Joe, this is going to be interesting. Did you have a chance to sit in on the arguments on this case when they were made or no? I have the documents in front of me. And I also have both the preliminary injunction and a twenty nine page memorandum where the judge explains her reasoning. And. This stating that on this side. This saying, look some people come to the courts of other reasons, you know, family, family matters, they wanted to the family court. They, they, they come to support a loved one. But my my experience with ice. Is that exactly what the US attorney said is it's they don't want to have a shootout. Because innocent people are sometimes in the crossfire, so they use the courts when they want someone who's, who's already been criminally charged. Now this this, this injunction does not stop. If someone is bright in to the courthouse on a federal custody or criminal rest so they can still do in those instances, they still can do it. So that's deep into the injunction. So this still allowed, but this does take a major tool away from them, and, you know, the federal government, you know, they're going to have it open right in front of me federal, I don't see an appeal yet, but, you know, it's coming. I think there's no doubt. And certainly, I think this judge should have recused herself under the circumstances. If the, the statements that are now being attributed her. We're, we're actually made Joe I appreciate his always being available for us on the on such short notice. And we'll continue to read the herald and read and read your reports in the herald. I'm sure people you probably got something in the newspaper tomorrow morning. I suspect oh, we have a good one, but I just want to add one thing, Dan, did this does also relate to the judge Joseph case talking about taxpayers paid a hundred twenty seven thousand dollars. She led she's accused of leading an illegal immigrant go out of basement. Do awhile ice agents were in the lobby. So it's you can see it's all kind of it's all strung together threaded together. So, so, so I I'm very familiar with that case. So do you think that, that case somehow someway comes into play? I these cases should be separate. The there's, there's different different fact patterns than this should not be an overlap. But clearly there's some commonality in in terms of the, the underlying arguments. Do you think that this judge this federal judge might be trying to send a signal to maybe even the US attorney? I think it's very puzzle because both the as you said Rachel Rawlins, and Marian Ryan the two district attorneys filed their lawsuit in April a few days after judge Joseph was hit with that federal indictment. So her rest, her her sentencing, not sensing, her indictment has sent shockwaves through through the legal community in Massachusetts, because they like a judge just got charged knowing that, but you would also you would also think that a federal judge might want to say, look, this is what a federal law enforcement officer has decided that is necessary. I e the entitlement of a of a district judge in Massachusetts. It is just interesting where the where the elite alliances and the allegiances will be here. It's, it's pretty pretty interesting stuff, Joe politically, as well. And again, whenever you whenever you inject politics into anything, including the. Criminal Justice system is going to skew the result. That is something of which I am convinced. Oh, I think you're right on, I think it's coming to a boil that's what I think's going to happen. I mean, this is starting to build and it's really getting heated on all sides. And it's very interesting story that I don't think it's obviously, it's, it's oh no question. New question, Joe L. Thanks so much. We'll talk again. Okay. Have a great day Conine. Okay. Here's we're gonna do. I want to open up the phone lines. And I want to hear from you. Who do you think has a stronger argument? The US attorney who not only has indicted, a Massachusetts judge for leading an illegal a slip out the back door of her courthouse. But also makes the argument that you just heard that arresting someone who ISIS looking for is more easily accomplished and more safely accomplished inside a courthouse as opposed to having to go and find these individuals in the communities where they live and where they might have access to, to weaponry, which they would not have inside a courthouse. Or are you with the judge the federal judge Indira toll toll Lonnie? I I'm hoping I don't mean to mispronounce her name Indira, tell Wani who seems to me as a federal judge to be handcuffing and making the job of ice agents on difficult. This is fraught with politics, folks, and it's, it's troubling six one seven two five four..

And unfortunately, what happens sometimes is when that ice gets on the trees and power lines can bring down power lines and caused power outages. So that's one thing we'll be closely monitoring throughout the day. We have representatives here in the studio. See from the department of public utilities is also as well as eversource a national grid are ready to respond. If necessary. We have a flash freeze coming later this afternoon. What should people know about that? So the biggest concern with the flash freezes at the temperatures will be dropping very quickly in a short amount of time. So really any liquid? That's out there on the roads wash water, we'll be freezing and turning tight. So that may make for some difficult travel conditions later on throughout the day. So if people can get out in in clear, some of that snow and slop kind of throughout the day before it freezes that may make it a lot easier on the and one last question is going to be very cold tomorrow should people be concerned about that. Tomorrow. After the storm ends tonight. You really be quite cold and the wind chills will be anywhere from fifteen to.

"One and only with Shanti Nick Shen onto several occasion, she referred to ice age inch as thugs never want swift ferring to MS thirteen as stunts because that was within the context that they would discuss what we now have a real life story wear it might give pause to Andrew utilize Cuomo and others who have labeled them as stugotz. Do. We think they position I take you to Middlesex County, New Jersey. One Louis Rodrigue. Oh Perez age Twenty-three illegal Mexican was caught prosecuted and put into the Middlesex County lockup for crimes committed in New Brunswick while there he was assuming because of illegal status. At the moment. He was released that ice enforcement and removal would be there with the detain her to pick them up bring him to the facility that's over in Elizabeth, and then obviously he would await deportation back to his country of origin in Mexico. Well, lo and behold, he's released his girlfriend from New Brunswick is outside. There is no ice detention unit because Middlesex has refused to have a working relationship with him because of their freeloaders aka freehold, this who have declared Middlesex to be a sanctuary county. And so he walks out expecting to be putting changing shackles by ice as anybody would in that position. And all of a sudden he looks around. No ice is girlfriend says getting the car let's go to the crib. New brunswick. Let's pack. All belongings. Let's get the hell outta here before they realized that we've slipped through the cracks. But the union slip through the cracks Middlesex was not going to cooperate with ice. So what did he do next Rita? They got on a greyhound bus both him the Mexican who was able to scrape by by the skin of his teeth and drop through the cracks. They took it all the way to the heartland of America. You can't get any more into the heartland in Springfield, Missouri. They ended up staying at a flop house got a series of jobs. There were other guys in the flop house with sharing space. So this guy Louis Rodrigue L parades gets you into an argument with some of the people who were staying there. They throw them out. They said we can't have him in his girlfriend here any longer. This guy is insane. In the brain. He comes back with a loaded gun. He shot. He kills three of those. There in two more. He's been charged with eleven major felony counts by the state of Missouri and in Springfield itself. And actually all the law enforcement officials are saying how come we ended up with this problem? How come you didn't take care of it back in Middlesex County in New Brunswick when you first pinch this guy, and you realize he was an illegal alien who had committed major crimes, and that's why he was doing time in county jail. You know, it's amazing Curtis in this case, you have the acting executive director of ice saying why were we not notified that? This guy was out. You know, it's bad when it's law enforcement pointing the finger at other law enforcement, basically Middlesex County, you have blood on your hands that this guy never should have been out. And you look at it. He had domestic violence charges. He's not supposed to be here, and you send him out. And then when you hear this guy, it doesn't take a rocket scientist. When you look at the on this guy clearly is a looney toon e because they kick them out of the house. He kills the two roommates. And apparently somebody hears him on the phone. It reminds me sadly, a little bit of the Herman bell situation where the officer was pleading for his life. And apparently one of the witnesses said that they heard he was on the phone with the guy, and here's one of the people begging for their lives, and he still kills and this is like a ruthless disgusting killer. And then he kills the girl. The next day. I mean, they're all of these horrible things. So. Right. But we look at the situation. Ladies and gentlemen, I switched prepared to do its job. It notified the jail. We've got a detained on this. Louis rodrigue. Oh perez. The moment he finishes his sentence county. Lockup inform us will be there to pick them up. Bring him to keep him there until we deported. No problem. But because the freeloaders aka the free holders in Middlesex County have declared themselves to be a sanctuary county. They have forbidden the jailers to inform or work with ice. So the jail is saying, gee, we would have been more than happy to hand this guy over we know he was a medicine. But our elected freeloaders aka freeholder should telling us we can't have any communication. We can't have any cooperation. So you can imagine. Okay. Android and others out there who want to vilify is she gonna call ice, stugotz. When in fact, they were more than happy to take this thug into custody put through the ringer and then deport him back to Mexico where he belonged one eight hundred eight four eight WABC that's one eight hundred eight four eight nine two two two. Let's go to Pete who's calling from New York. Welcome the Kurdish and Rita. Cosby WABC? Hey, Curtis w what's actually Steve? That's fine. A bit called a lot worse than okay. Steve head. When does king Cuomo make any kind of cage in the right direction. Will he be the victims of crime or one of his friends or family members be raped or murdered by one of these illegals before he actually does something? Well, this is New Jersey. You got that? Right. It's New Jersey. But as you say policy. Yeah. This is the way it is is that I've always said when ice catch this detainers deportation order because it spit out by the computer is that it should be taken case by case if it's a guy who's been here for thirty years. He never got into trouble. You know, he's been a good law abiding citizen taking care of his family, you might wanna reconsider deporting him. But in this case, this guy at criminal written all over him menace to society and the Middlesex jail is handcuffs because they're freeloaders aka freeholder sale. You can't do that. Because we are a sanctuary for illegal aliens share Middlesex County. And you know, it's interesting Middlesex County officials are now saying that the way that detain or was written. It didn't reach the criteria. I mean, they're like they're like enough playing bureaucratic little you didn't stop the is. Or you didn't cross the t's com on one eight hundred eight four eight WABC that's one eight hundred eight. Four eight nine hundred eighty two two let's go to Nigel calling from flatbush. Welcome the Kurdish and Rita Cosby here Nigel. So President Trump I believe last week. This is all you. We're talking about Mexico talking about Mexico. You want to go in Mexico? Mr. Well, you can't do that. You can't you can't go in Mexico. World War One. Via did a towards to nineteen and we had a call patent to kick his ass out you aware Nigel as we celebrated the one hundred armistice of World War One that Mexico was friendly to Germany and president Wilson at that time sent the cavalry down to the board. Right. Right. And then actually the cavalry went into Mexico illegally. By the point is Nigel. What's your boy come on? What is this? The point. Guy. They're not gonna be deported. No more. No. That's exactly the opposite. City on the. If he gets in the day may do you're not listening. What Trump is saying is that he doesn't even want them in. Louis rodrigue. Oh perez. I didn't question was not seeking asylum. He didn't say I'm here because you know, MS thirteen trying to kill me or I was a political adversary of the government back in Mexico. No, he wasn't he trying to seek asylum. He was a criminal who should have been picked up by is ice was trying to do its job, but Middlesex, freeloaders interfered and wouldn't let ice do their job. Maybe they thought he was working in construction. You bring up. You're right. You house. Yeah..
