Co-Op Gaming Reflections
"Let's dive into co op gaming. What coop gaming is what our personal experiences with. It are what we love about it miss about it. Is it still in our lives. Let's talk about it. let's get into it. Let's do it for me. It co op. Gaming is kind of something that moore took place in highschool in anywhere else really growing up. I had a lot of friends that i lived in the same neighborhood. As but we didn't really play a whole ton of co op games really. It was kind strange. The we played a lot of smash brothers and a lot of stuff like that but for the most part we part time just kind of watching each other play single player games. It was fun. We enjoyed our time. But eventually i moved towns in kind of lost contact with those guys and got into high. School is kind of was around. The time. That online cooper really started to become a big thing and i talked about in the first episode. It's when i kind of transition to every friday would or not every month with games with gold on xbox they'd be dropping a new game in a lot of them just had online co op functionality. And mean a lot of friends from high school. Would just you know get together late nights and we would play together in go through these new games that we would have access to and we had a ton of fine and then also in college how You have a lot of time. Spent on co op gaming with a buddy of mine. Who who had a lot of fun your plane we also. We'll we'll talk about probably a little bit later in the podcast. A lot of the games that we time with. But yeah for me. They'll cobb gaming was a big part of you know school too early college years and even now to we did the stream together with halo and and i was a blast. I enjoyed that at ten. Yeah i think it was I think it was great. What's funny too is when i was thinking about that. When we played halo one in halo two the master chief collection online co op when thinking about this episode and brainstorm in my personal experience. What's crazy is that he didn't not even come to mind. Because you know i'm thinking couch co op and you know when i've you like an online game like oh it's it's just online multiplayer but it's like no that that was co op like there was a single objective. We're progressing through the story. It was both of us we were we were co op in it. Yeah yeah it's really. It really is strange to kind of take a look at things and see how they've changed over the years you know the traditional co op experiences. Kinda rare to see nowadays bright. And we've been discussing this. Just digging through you know has co op. Gaming declined is still present. Or does it just look different and well. The answer is like yes yes. It's all of that. It's taken different forms. It still existed in some ways. It has declined and it's just it looks differently. It's tough to get a real good grasp on on what it is right and and we can definitely died a little bit more. We wanted to in that in terms of my own personal experience with with coop. Kind of like you. I didn't really have a lot of co-op experiences as a kid. It was more of you know. Yeah i'm watching a friend play or i'm you know on playing pokemon single player on my own on the ds or gameboy. I'm not really doing any coop or even a or possibly like online multiplayer and call of duty online. Like there was there was not a significant. Like getting a friend sitting on the couch. Let's beat the story together until later in life. Literally twenty twenty with the halo one halo two as well as my wife niki. Were we played a decent amount of co-op games not a whole lot. But a cynic significant number. I'll probably just jump into the ones that i have played which includes zelda four swords adventure which we've already discussed and you can listen to episode to my quarrels with playing that game coop. If you played a single player you probably had a fantastic experience. coop. Be prepared period. I'll just say that. I'm not even going to give you some specific so we need to be prepared for just be prepared for source adventure and captain toad treasure tracker on the switch which is a highly recommended couch co op game. Very fun We both enjoyed it a lot in. It's not really one of those where you get mad at each other. Shore are some incidences. Or you're like okay. Come on you're lying behind or no. You should have done that. But it's a very tranquil calming. Let's work together. What you would envision a co-op game to be you know a co-op puzzle game specifically. We played a little bit of epic. Mickey i believe epic mickey to specifically one hundred three sixty have not beaten on one but we played a little bit of that one. I think that was actually two thousand. And nineteen another good one that we played the sheer couch. Co op is the knack. That was a very enjoyable op experience It was a little bit like a platformer beat em ups game. It was a game that was a launch title for the playstation four. But just a short sweet very very enjoyable couch co op experience. Which we'll get into kind of some things of why i love coop caming and use a knack as a reference but lastly the final title coop game that keep in mind this list this is my co op experience. After i name this last one i haven't really played a whole lot of co op games outside of this but i really do enjoy them and i really do wish there was

We still have our ups and downs. And you know our problems probably as bad as people that live together problems but when you're a far apart i think that's what breaks relationships because you can't get there and hug and salaries you know what i mean. In general you know we're we're trying to work things out in Who are still at the same level. How about that. that's good. No that's good. That's kind of what. Thank you great honestly. I love all routes. But you know what i think. You'd be great because we all need therapy on that stage. Oh i understand trust me i. I've taken notes on you guys but but it has been great entertainment during the lockdown. Right it has been one of the few things my wife had looked forward to at the end of the week on sunday nights and things and you start to pull for people you start to get very attached to you guys and your relationships and all the stuff you're facing and it's kind of in a way it's sort of good for americans to see the different cultures and how much americans Take for granted spoil. Yeah and then what how you stroke are spoiled because you know we have systems. Yeah and. I'm actually impressed with how well you got along in africa. You really just you jump right in. You seem like you're embraced his family. You embrace everything about his culture. Maybe not the food so much. The little day in the man's dominant will dash. But that's but that's the other thing so so you went toward you. Brought them pizza. Which i guess they already had it but you were sort of emphasizing pizza and and you took issue with the. I found that very interesting it was. This was my jiri right. Is that where you guys were. And there were three versions of marriage. Options in nigeria. Right right am i wrong. And that was kind of extraordinary they're all highly codified by the state. Like either you are committed to your partner and love and if you have any misadventures you've broken the law right. Yeah or or or you can go. Do whatever you want or this marriage or you can do the muslim marriage. Or it's the call your cultural marriage the muslim arabs. Or i what we call our regular marriage You know we can't she meet and all that and thank you know here. We don't go over there if you're caught with another woman. If you're doing the marriage that we picked out you can go to prison for five years. That's so crazy to me. It's really very interesting. And yet at the same time they have marriage that's essentially open but all of it seems to favor the male. Yes sir josh. I'm favor you know us being equal. You know some things you know. Of course. he's got to be the man of things but Michael shakes extreme. When i say. We're fifty mickey like if i get mad at hang up on him he'll call me back. Just hang up on me. That's not what. I mean. When i say no i think he knows it you mean. He's he's a pretty enlightened guys very smart. what's his what's his quick fairwood. His his professional background is he sold cars. But when i tell people this thinking like our sales people over here it's totally different. You know it'll take him all day to go so one car he just gets a percentage on it and he might not even sell it. So that's when. I told you know you're spending more gas. It draining your body every day to go. You know our just drive there back not might not sell car this message and even work. You know what. I mean because it's like it's not balancing or making nothing to me. I said i rub you. Stay home and take care of your mom. Your mom why you can and we take care of her together in. Would that make him dependent on you financially as the okay with that given this whole sort of male dominant kind of society he's grownup grown up in. Well you know. I think i really think i'm his first real relationship not girlfriend but real relationship. I am a song minded person you because i'm experiencing owner and that's what i try to tell them. I don't try to like. I know herbs because i honestly don't have done all this stuff you're due at your age and this is why when we first got together. I let him know how i am. No no flaws. No

CBS News reports person of interest identified in connection with Nashville bombing
"The name of a person of interest tied to the explosion that rocked Nashville on Christmas Day. Multiple sources say. Anthony Quinn Warner, a national area resident, had a similar make and model RV is the one in photos released to the public water described as a white male 63 years old. We're going live now to an FBI news conference from Nashville. I'm special agent in charge. Doug Corn, ask E. And then Mickey French. The special agent in charge of the FBI was a star. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms will also speak. Also joining us is Colonel Matt paired with the Tennessee Highway Patrol following the investigators update. Well, then hear from Mayor Cooper. At this time, I'll turn it over to United States Attorney Cochran Have known 2020 has been a tough year for Nashville. Started back in March with devastating tornadoes that we had the torch through some of our neighborhoods. Continued through the pandemic and the events of this past summer and now this Cowardly bombing on Christmas morning. Right here in the heart of our downtown. Yeah. When they haven't heard about Nashville use in the time I've lived here is that they're tough and they stick together as a team, and that's what we're doing now. And I want you to know that the team is behind me. And the folks that they represent are doing everything we can to. Find out what happened here to get the answers that you deserve. And to make sure that we're all safe. So One of the toughest groups of folks we've got here in middle Tennessee is our law, enforcement of first responders and nowhere in my experience in law enforcement. Has that ever been plainer to me and what happened early yesterday morning? 6 15 6 26 30 years. So on Christmas morning, Metro Nashville police officers just number of blocks north of here didn't run away from danger literally ran to danger. Vehicle that was announcing that it was going to blow up. And Metro Nashville police officers instead of heading in the other direction headed towards that. They evacuated that area got all the citizens out of there. I'm quite confident that their actions are part of the reason why there was less cost of life in this heinous act. Sorry. Yesterday morning we had a task force came together and it didn't No. One time thing. This is what we do all the time. The U. S attorney's office. We work together with our federal partners are state partners in our local partners. That's what immediately started happening yesterday. Teams of agents group together across agencies started handling leads its citizens are citizens were calling in. We've had over 500 leads and tips come in on every single one of those is being followed up by a team of investigators. That's the stage we're at in this investigation. We are still continuing to follow every lead that we have. On. We will continue to do so until we find out what's happened. We also have national resources here. The department justice, the acting attorney general has told me any resources we need. We can have the FBI and the A. T F have sent their most specialized bomb technicians here to Nashville. And as we speak, they are north of here, a number of blocks that he had a massive crime scene. Doing what they do. Doing frankly what they do better than anyone else in the world, and it's quite a challenge. Having been up there and seeing that scene, it's like a giant jigsaw puzzle created by bomb throws pieces of evidence across multiple city blocks. They've got to gather it. They've got to catalog it. They've got to put it back together and trying to find out what the picture of that puzzle looks like. But there's no one better to do it. Then the folks we've got on the ground here in Nashville, Tennessee, right now. So that's going on as we speak. The investigations of the Leeds was going on as we speak. I am Confident in the team. We have way will get to the bottom of this that we will find out the story of this individual or individuals. We don't know right now. But this this is ultimate Scrooge, who on Christmas morning instead of spreading joy and cheer decided to spread devastation and destruction. But We know how that story ends your Nashville. We're gonna stand together. We're gonna get back on her feet. We're gonna get our business is back up and running. We're gonna get our infrastructure and the cell coverage back up and running because that's what we do in Nashville. Thank you for your time. I

Giuliani peddles election conspiracy theories and falsehoods.
"Georgia audit now. Complete the hand count of nearly five million votes reaffirming biden the winner. The first democratic presidential candidate to win the state in nearly thirty years. There was news today about michigan as well where the president lost by about one hundred and forty eight thousand votes. we've now learned. The president has called hit called republican officials in wayne county home to detroit and michigan an eleventh-hour attempt to invalidate votes president trump calling on state. Republicans sleep tonight on your side. History will be on your side. You're conscious side and more knows when you go to meet your maker. Your soul is going to be very very war that along with legal challenges playing out in several states and a public campaign. Alleging voter fraud without evidence here to break it down for us. Chief white house correspondent. Jonathan karl jonathan. It is hard to know where to begin with all of the legal challenges that seem to spin each day. Let's backtrack just a little bit in michigan. With the on again off again certification of votes by canvassers in wayne county and the president reaching out to state leaders. Where does all the stand well You know the the these two republican members of the canvassing board had. I said that they were not going to certify the election and they said they agreed to certify it and then we we learned that the president called them directly. You imagine that you are a local local official on a canvassing board In wayne county michigan and your phone rings and it's donald trump the president of the united states. So it's quite a bit of you know it's quite a bit of leverage with president has and he talked to them but the bottom line is they have certified. It's hard to see out. There are no kind of take back. So we accept the wayne county certification just as we accepted every one of our eighty three counties certification as it was properly made in public vote in public meeting And now moving forward and calling on the board of state canvassers to do the same now. The president is also going to be reaching out in meeting with the republican leaders of the state legislature in In michigan Bringing them to the white house for a meeting and this as his legal team is suggesting that maybe the direction they want to go is to go directly to state legislatures to essentially overrule. How their states voted And to send their own electors to the electoral college. American democracy cracked last night. But it didn't break michelle. I gotta say it's it's a it's a crazy idea. It's basically it's talk of nullifying in election. And i and i should point out that even though these republican leaders From michigan or to meet with the president They have both been on record saying that. That is not the way. It works in michigan state. Legislature doesn't simply you know. Look the other way and not do something on its own in the face of what happened On election day but yet here we are and in terms of all of this is any of its seen as any type of interference. We've got a president a sitting president as well as a candidate in an election. Making phone calls as well as meeting with people that are involved directly with the election. Well there's a lot of strange activity is ranging a lot of questions and we also had a One of i think probably the most bizarre press conference. I've ever seen tied to a president. Good afternoon and thank you. Very much for coming guiliani. And the president's legal team held a press conference at the republican national committee headquarters in washington that you know. Frankly i i. I really don't know how to describe it as the except to say it was unhinged and what emerged very quickly is because it's not a singular voter fraud in one state. This pattern repeats itself in a number. Isn't there was vast conspiracy talk. President trump won by a landslide. We are going to prove it and there was a conspiracy that included a the clinton foundation. That could have been mickey mouse. That could have been a dead person even a mention of hugo chavez who died i don't know i think about seven years ago. These people were further away than my cousin. Vinny was from witnessed. They couldn't see a thing. It would vary very strange. Strange press conference the real thing you need to know though. Is that the legal cases that have been brought by the by. The trump team are going nowhere. They have lost over and over again and they've been forced to withdraw lawsuits while there quickly running out of time on this and so with where we're at with this giuliani and his briefing in the president. Set to meet with people today from those canvassers in that area where republicans at what's the endgame. Republicans for the most part are saying that the president should be allowed to pursue his legal challenges. A as far as they may go to be proof but they're also not for the most part repeating these crazy allegations and privately. They're saying that they know the president's laws have you seen that. I haven't seen proof yet. How many lives do you think are at risk here if this transition remained stalled. Well look. We've you've heard the projections projections. Are that if nothing fundamentally changes between now and beginning february we're like to lose up to four hundred total of four hundred thousand lives and other one hundred fifty thousand lives but of course we're in the middle of the national health crisis we're in the middle of a pandemic and the world doesn't stop. Stir president-elect what do you think the president is doing. What are americans witnessing here. We choose my words think. They're witnessing an incredible irresponsibility credibly damaging messages being sent to the rest of the world about how democracy functions. And i think it is and because of the president's refusal to acknowledge What happened in the election. Well i don't know his motive. But i just think it's totally irresponsible. The team of president elect now biden is not getting the briefings. They're not coordinating with the warp speed team on the vaccine. All all the things that are going to have to be carried out by the biden administration They've been stonewalled by by the president's refusal to accept the election

McRib fans rejoice: McDonald's is bringing back the popular sandwich nationwide
"It's been a long one, hardly fought by fans of the polarizing sandwich, and now they're seeing the results. McDonald's finally bringing back the mcrib back to menus across the U. S. After demands from desperate super fans of the sandwich. If there is a desperate superfan of the sandwich out there right now, I really want to hear from you. Or does somebody is like I mean, anybody who's driving around right now are just sitting at home. Chilling out like some people that are texting in and joined the weed conversation. I is anybody sitting at home just pumping the fist, right? Oh, my God! Sweet. I am going to head out to my local Mickey D's. And I'm going to crush a mcrib. Like for you know, I don't go to McDonald's very often. I just had my physical I'm As I mentioned earlier getting close to 50. I got a limit my fast food here trying to live a long, healthy life. Very interesting moment. By the way at the physical yesterday, Doc saying I look up to deeper for the docks like you know you got we're going for the full inspection here. And you know all of it and and he looks at me. He's like I'm like, Uh huh. I got it, and he's like he's like, Look, I don't like it either. I'm like I know, Doc. I know it's not your favorite thing. I get it. I get it, but it's It's that's like a weird moment in time right now. I don't like it either. I know. I know I wouldn't want to be you either doing that all day long with different dudes coming in there and you got to do the quote unquote full inspection. But my point is that you know I can't eat. I can't eat. Fast food a lot, So I'm going to go to McDonald's. It's It's a It's a big day. I mean, huge day. And my standard order is that you give me the two cheeseburger. Give me a nice crispy fry. Let me get a hot fudge sundae and let's live the dream thrown in. Throw in a nice Delicious Coca Cola and we're having. I mean, we're having a day. And asked to use on Lee his first name. This is unbelievable. Mick Ribas here comes from McDonald's.
Invisible marketing with Jeff Lotman
"Great Gun and welcome to the future podcast. Today's guest is the founder and CEO of Brand Licensing Agency global icons. Now, you may be asking yourself what exactly is that? And Russ assured you're not alone as he puts it they operate in an incredibly misunderstood field that no one knows about except we see every day. Remember Flintstones, vitamins. You. Don't think hanna-barbera actually created those do. Yeah totally neither did I. In, this episode he and Chris Talk About the world of invisible marketing pairing brands with products that you wouldn't think necessarily go together. BMW Strollers Porsches Sunglasses. Forever Twenty One and the US Postal Service. It is a super interesting field that I had no idea existed but after hearing about it seems so obvious and brilliant. Please, enjoy our conversation with Jeff Lyman. Okay. So my my audience might be familiar with this idea. It's called a mash up it's when to artists or maybe through a DJ or mixer puts things together two genres that don't belong like rap and country The most famous examples I can think of as an artist whose name is danger mouse he took Jay z's black album and the Beatles white album and put them together and created magic between I. I think if I understand what you do correctly jeff that it's kind of like what you do you take two things that we love and you smash them together and it's just wonderful thing and most. Of US are completely oblivious to this happening you write about this in your book called invisible marketing now do I have this Jeff? No I think that's a really interesting way of looking at it and I've never ended describe like that. But I think you're right. I mean that's exactly what we do. We really put a manufacturer together with the brand usually have someone that wants to create a product and he's trying to break into the market and they're trying to figure out the best way of doing it, and of course, they could call it jeff or they call it Lamborghini including the their name WanNa, compare to my name what goes up dramatically. Okay. So this is fascinating because this is a world that we all kind of are somewhat subconsciously aware but until we learn about what Jeff does, then it becomes very clear what's happening. So Jeff for people who don't know who you are, can you introduce yourself and let let us all know kind of what it is that you do. Short. So my name is Jeff Lottman. I'm the CEO Global Icons, which is a company that I started almost twenty years ago and were a brand licensing agency and we work in a field that is incredibly misunderstood and no one knows about it. It's really crazy when you. When you tell people what you do, you only have to give them an example for them to understand it because otherwise they won't get. It's very frustrating at times apart parts. Well, it's interesting because I have imagined that you probably don't have as much competition because not that many people understand what it is is that true or now? It's also really s could feel there's not really many people that work in the brand licensing company in our world probably are. Ten fifteen agencies is probably no more than four or five or six of any real size. It's a great business i. mean it's been around really got in. Thirty years ago when really hit his stride compared to entertainment licensing like you know, Mickey Mouse on t shirts have been around. Since the early twenties. Right, so I guess a lot of people don't understand is like a company like Disney makes a lot of their money, maybe most of it through merchandising and licensing and building products based on entertainment Ip, and some some reference or some examples that you gave on different podcasts that are heard you talk about, which will help you understand truly what we're talking about is flintstones vitamins. The flintstones hanna-barbera did not make those vitamins the BMW stroller a BMW. BMW. Did Not make that stroller and then one that I can think of I think is Porsche Sunglasses? Maybe they did make it but it's licensing. Right. So it's a licensing, the brand equity that somebody has built up and moving into different product categories right. Exactly. I also called rarified air because let's face it. What is a brand a brand by you buying something and says a lot about how you feel you WanNa feel. So when you're going to buy apple the great, let's face it apple has built a business not about making the best computers but really telling people that when you use their computers, you're more creative you're more clever. You're you're on. Tran-. You're on edge or Microsoft, is always about we're GONNA make the best computers in our numbers in our ram is this and this and Mac never really sold that I mean they talk about benefits but it's really more about what it does for you and how it releases your freedom and because of that people look at it very differently and that's why there's so much passion for apple compared to Microsoft.

"Qb mcdaniels counted Brandon Scott Laverne as one of her good friends. I mean he was that good of a guy in my opinion. I mean that I would want to set one of my friends up with him. He may have seemed like a catch to her. Police now felt they almost had him on the hook for the murder of Mickey Shooting. For One thing detectives determined that the story Laverne had allegedly told his future. Father in law about being stabbed in a mugging at a gas station wasn't holding up any evidence that he reported that mugging to police. The Jefferson parish detects respond to the scene interviewed the The gas station attendant and reviewed the video surveillance and his truck and he was nowhere near that that site and as detectives look deeper into Laverne Past. They found themselves heading down a rabbit hole into a very dark place. We found out that he had girlfriends. All over the place that More or less thrived on the game of Seducing women what's more detective say? Laverne had an addiction to prostitutes. Something is beyond say. Didn't know he would leave her residence and contact sexual escorts. You found that up a checking his cellphone records correct so this is a guy who sort of had a life that didn't show anybody else exactly but this seemingly normal everyday guy detectives learned was also a registered sex offender having been convicted of sexual battery back in two thousand. Those definitely attention getter as provocative as all this was there was nothing connecting laverne to Mickey Shoe Nick's disappearance so detective barshop turned his attention to Laverne White Chevy pickup and other tip coming from the local car dealer. The tipster had said that his truck was stolen. Out of Texas insurance records indicated where in Texas Laverne said his truck had been stolen when I called the sheriff there? He learned the truck and then found abandoned and badly burned it. We went recovered in and brought it. Back Louisiana's evidence and what's in there and that was absolutely nothing. You couldn't even tell the color of the the pain so if Mickey was over in that truck. You couldn't tell that's correct. The heat was intense but Lafayette PD now had laverne license plate number and from that it turned out came an extraordinary piece of police work. We did a little bit of research and found a An image that had been taken from a traffic camera of his tra- about eight hours prior to the time that Mickey disappeared. That traffic camera not only snapped a photo of laverne plate number but amazingly it also managed to capture. What was in the bed of his truck? We were able to see that. There's a four by four posts as well as a white styrofoam ice chest. That's an in the bed of the pickup truck then compared the trucking image to the mysterious one scene following Mickey when we looked at the footage again on the night that Mickey disappeared. We could clearly see A four by four posts well as on a wide ice chest in the same position that it was on the traffic ham eight hours earlier suddenly after six long weeks Lafayette. Pd felt they had their man. That was That was his trump. All roads were now leading to Brandon Laverne but detectives couldn't with absolute certainty place laverne behind the wheel of that truck. At that moment most important of all they still had no clue what had become of. Mickey the rooms aware that you guys were looking at him no. I don't think he was in that. That was part of our thinking that if he had killed. Mickey we could keep them under surveillance and hopefully he would lead us to a gravesite but Lavar never did so now. Investigators raise the stakes decided to arrest Laverne and sitting down for some quality time. There is a list issues. We need to address regarding the disappearance shooting at first laverne denied knowing anything about Mickey then a veteran of the criminal justice system. He asked for his attorney newest girls this games of now turn owned. That's when detectives turned to the One person they hoped could break the case they brought in Lebron's fiance for questioning undergo nervous. This is basically just want to know about Brandon. Did you ever get angry at every push you hit you not one time? You don't see that at our. He's never showed that I've never seen it. I don't even see that in him. I don't he's been so gentle and Colleen Compassionate. It's he's amazing as I would've never said Yes to America as it turned out. Police ended up telling her more than she told them. Her reaction would only confirm for investigators just how sinister Laverne was you know brandon? Relishing things you like to. If there's something I don't know I need to know it would take the work of two detectives to reveal the rest really honest person. Brandon is under arrest perverse creamer. He is without a reasonable doubt. The man who kidnapped in you okay. I'll walk in here and tell you this. I can listen to me depressed because you asked me improve. Hey it's hard for you to believe him but we know that you're taking you want to hear the facts right. Heritage cannot lay out one. Not At this point you. He's good at what he does. He's a sociopath and manipulate okay. Say May have been shocked but detectives weren't they knew something else brand laver's past was far darker than anyone had imagined we learned that. Brennan's name had come up in a neighboring parish that he was a suspect of murder back in one thousand nine he. In fact prosecutors took the case to the grand jury but it failed to indict citing insufficient evidence for detectives. It was the final piece of the puzzle that put this case over the top for the shoe necks. Any lingering hopes that Mickey would be found alive was now gone me and my mom shut down after that we just and then. I got to listen to Charlie through the wall. Cry All night know aching crop but prosecutors were now struggling with worries of their own. Could they get a conviction without knowing what had happened to the victim? Coming up. Heartbreaking new details emerge. He was fighting for her life and she did what she had did. Mickey help solve her own case. Amazing good for Mickey when Dateline Continues.

If you strike someone intoxicated. That's foul play so it looked promising. I only spoke to him one time. He denied any involvement ultimately when pressured. Yes for an attorney for a town on edge and still determined the fine. Mickey News quickly leaked police. Were questioning a person of interest and when it did the name Rocky McGee went viral. And it's like all over the news all over the social media pages and everything in the mixed you know everybody was talking about Iraqi MiG correct. And it spread like wildfire. The tip line was suddenly full of callers including one claiming to have first hand knowledge that not only Iraqi killed Mickey also had an accomplice. This individual came forward and said that rockies girlfriend she was present when he was drunk and hit her and that they picked up the bike in the body and disposed of her. Andy Cornea is the girlfriend accused of helping rocky she. I learned the accusations against her and her boyfriend. From Rocky's mother his mom comes up to me and she tells me that Iraqi has been taken by Lafayette police to be questioned in the Makishi case. She's hysterical. She's crawling She's confused and she was like what they think you did it to like her significant other rocky. Indie cormet found herself grilled like a red fish. It never happened and never happened for days. Police worked around the clock investigating McGee's alleged involvement. They process is White pick-up looking for any DNA that could be traced back to Mickey. We spend a lot of manpower and and a lot of time investigating. This actually thought that we were really going to be blamed for something. We didn't do when I was praying for somebody to come forward and admit what they said was false limb almost as quickly as rocky McGee surfaced as Mickey's alleged killer. The case around him collapsed. When police brought McGee's first accuser back to be questioned again. The original tipster admitted that he had fabricated the story. It turned out that neither rocky McGee nor his girlfriend Andy had anything to do with Mickey's disappearance. They were instead the victims of what turned out to be a hoax. And so this tip that you got. This was what just somebody who had it out for him. I think it what it was was. It turned out to be someone who just wanted attention. And a lot of your a lot of our time and it turned out to be absolutely yes Sir and that was probably the the negative aspect of the social media frustrating very but the saying once burned twice. Shy was a luxury. Detectives couldn't afford so went to new. Tips came in about another owner of a white pick-up truck who'd been acting suspiciously. Detective Bajour rolled up his sleeves. Once again and both tips. They came in a week apart and they were independent of of themselves. And who were they telling you to look at brand new Scotland Brandon? Scott Laverne was thirty-three-year-old mechanic. Who worked on oil rigs just offshore told me with the tips at the first tip that came in from an acquaintance That had close knowledge of him. That said that he was acting suspiciously. The tipster also said that on the weekend Mickey went missing laverne travel to New Orleans and came back with some serious stab wounds on his upper body. He was telling them that he had been robbed and mugged in New Orleans while he was down there. What they found suspicious was that he had no reason to go to New Orleans that weekend. and historisches that makes sense and it wasn't just what the tipster was saying that interested. Detective Barshop. It was also who the tipster was the tipster. That called in. Was the future father-in-law Mr Lebron and that second tip only tighten the net around Laverne came from an employee of Lafayette car dealership. Who said that soon? After Mickey Vanished Laverne came and looking to buy a white pick-up. The second tip said that Brandon Laverne had gone into purchase. A vehicle was acting suspiciously and said that he had owned a Y Z. Seventy one that was stolen and that he's here to buy another one. What was he behaving suspiciously during the time that he was purchasing a truck on the news They showed a story about Mickey and he got really suspicious and really nervous. They said it was visibly nervous. Detectives also learned that the soon to be married Brandon. Lavergne lived the little town of Church Point Louisiana forty minutes outside Lafayette. It was funny. I mean he really was that's where Laverne got to know his friend. Candy mcdaniels I met. I think man. He's a great guy. He's got a great job. He's good looking. He's perfect guy. I was like I gotta find one of my girlfriends. Who's single and see if they would hit it off with the more detectives delved into Brandon. Scotla versions passed the more they realize. Just how much wasn't known to those around him and even those closest to him didn't know that he had that secret life and that would include his fiancee. You don't why we're police questioning her..

"A blonde auto bicycle a white truck pursuing her now. Investigators were pursuing that truck. And it wouldn't be easy. You're on the Gulf coast. White Chevy pickups are as common as hot sauce definitely didn't narrow down the search was probably one of the more popular vehicles in the area. Different kept US busy. Those images did prove one thing conclusively. They were taken after Bradley. Wilson says he last saw Maki proving he was telling the truth. Mickey had left his house alive and well when he said she did. That was a big deal because Bradley was cleared. It proved that someone didn't know probably took her. As the relentlessly hot Louisiana summer days slowly came and Wet Charlie. Shouli proved to be equally relentless. Continuing her appeals to the public determined to find her sister. Mickey nothing else really seemed very important at the time. Either aside from what were you doing so all the other things in your life. Kinda just fade away. Yeah Yeah bye week to. The fear of the unknown began to take its toll on the family which was now forced to reexamine just what it was. They were hoping it happened to make. I thought you know so someone saw this cute little girl riding her bike down the street and hit her on purpose and they have and are doing what God knows. What was but what you still alive. We're thanking absolutely. As for Mickey's mom. Nancy was a hope. Only a mother could feel anybody who spends any time with her is not going to want to hurt her. Because if you spend a few minutes with her you like her you love her and you don't want to hurt her. Without Mickey. Your mom was very tough time. Yeah Yeah I don't. It's just I feel so bad for my mom you know She always said that if she ever lost one of us she would not be able to go on in life and it was pretty hard on her. It was just so shocking who this has happened to them. And then eight days. After Mickey vanished the investigation took a huge leap forward Steven Bosch Attorney me and said Okay. I don't want you to freak out or anything but I think we found her bike to fishermen had found Mickey's bike east of Lafayette in a body of water. Called Whiskey Bay just under the interstate was covered in mud and you know dried water from being in the swamp so far away from where she disappeared was the bicycle found. Twenty five miles. That's not a good sign though. It's not now. Police had hard physical evidence with which to build a theory of the crime. What could you tell from looking at the y? But there was significant damage to the back tire at look like it had been impacted. Somebody had her. That's what it looked like scary. Yeah I almost passed out actually had to brace myself up against the table and so I was thinking okay this militia act and who did. This police immediately began the sober task of searching for Mickey in the several thousand acres of Louisiana's largest swampland. We focused a lot of manpower and efforts into the into the search. This area We had the individuals airboats like we're on now Atv's we had Officers on horseback just amazing search efforts. Is that where you sort of begin to think? We're probably no longer looking for somebody who's alive right where it was more of a recovery effort at that point but several days of searching turned up nothing. Meanwhile investigators appealed for help in identifying the owner of a white Chevrolet Z. Seventy one pick up that vehicle should be able to be spotted by the public. We've got a lot of tips. Well over a thousand tips from The tips line that alone that we had tip saying. There's a white pick-up here women calling on their boyfriends or husbands saying he's kind of deviant and we We I think he could be responsible for the disappearance of making. I mean it ran the whole gamut of of tips. It's interesting I mean you have the community sort of pulling the other define Mickey and like the other half sort of informing on each other about that gays. I don't know about that but we certainly had a lot of tips coming in. And that's how police received their best lead yet a story rich in detail involving this man rocky. Mcgee tip that. He was intoxicated and that he had encountered Mickey riding her bicycle struck her with his vehicle And picked up her bike and and and the her body and dumped her in the Whiskey. Bay Area nineteen-year-old Rocky McGee did indeed drive a white pick-up truck he also had a history of drinking and driving was involved in a traffic crash involved. Alcohol and tally. In fact at the time Mickey disappeared rocky was about to be tried for d. wine manslaughter to frustrated. Detectives all the pieces of the puzzle. Were coming together. He had a prior and going through a court process at the time so it would fit and be feasible that he would try and dispose of a bicycle. Antibodies so that she would eliminate the crime completely head. Mickey Shuna Come Rocky McGee's second victim. It seemed to be great information quote in Louisiana. Just like its waterways. Things in this case. Seldom were predictable or followed a logical path if detectives were ready to believe this was simply the work of a drunk driver they would soon be proven completely wrong coming up a tantalising new lead. Even those closest to him didn't know that he had that secret life and later a dramatic police interrogation unsuspecting. Young Fiance Help Police crack this case.

"There is not a single name that we came up with. That could of someone who could be responsible for this. No one can think of even one person enemies. Everyone I know lighter one ever said anything bad about no obvious suspects. No real evidence of foul play. A beautiful girl gone without a trace. There was very little physical evidence that we had to follow the last message that she received on her on her cell phone was around one forty six in the morning on. May Nineteenth but after that there has been no activity. I mean that in and of itself sounds ominous. Yes it's a truism of police work that the last person to see a victim alive is the first focus of the investigation. So police brought in. Mickey's friend Bradley. Wilson for questioning. At First. It was just help us eliminate you. And then it transitioned into mistakes. Happen you can. You can tell us that there was a mistake and that segue into you loved her. Didn't you I mean you know pretty girl loved you. You spurned her You know maybe you should just let us now. Wilson insisted he had nothing to do with his good friends disappearance. I remember yelling. That repeatedly no no. We were just friends. No I didn't do anything to hurt. No that was the last time I saw is unrelenting was pretty seriously absolutely. We could take nothing for granted as the investigation gathered steam. Several hundred friends and neighbors of the Shoe Nick family came together to scour the streets of Lafayette Really Small City with a lot of people on it. Everyone knew someone knew someone who knew us and it. Just kind of set like wildfire. Everyone got involved whole community. Was there just Just in case you couldn't believe the outpouring just overwhelming people who knew or people who just felt your pain both soon more than eighteen hundred people from in and around Lafayette were filtering through a makeshift search headquarters. Set up on the University of Louisiana campus. Goes amazing just be people coming in covered in rashes and poison ivy and bug bites and dirt in their hair and they've been climbing up trees and digging through brush and looking for a girl that had never met yeah? Social media played a big partners. Facebook is like the number one way we reached anyone and leading the charge was charlie. She talked to everybody. She did radio interviews at midnight. Quadrants got up at three in the morning and went over to a TV station. We're searching every day was always the same thing making we. GotTa bring making home. We just want her back. We'll twenty four year old five foot. Two sometimes blonde. Sometimes redhead had become the tip of the spear in multi-state multinational search effort. Charlie had had all the the missing posters translated into Spanish and people went and flooded all the border towns and the border crossings. I was telling the social media team what to say. And what they say. And how they should phrase things and telling the headquarter coordinators where to put bottles of water and the sandwiches and stuff to worry about your sister. Maybe that was the idea. That's just what happen. What was this due in early man? She she stood up. She turned out to have a spine of that kid. I felt like everyone was depending on me to stay positive. And you know the Rock. I think it was tougher on your then your leading on to put up barriers. Otherwise can't function a week. Went by and then a major breakthrough in coming from a security camera that had captured this haunting image. A bicyclist heading down a dark deserted street in the direction of Mickey's on the night she disappeared. Police call you to come in and look at that video. Was that making. Yes you could see the big blonde Afro that you know very well known for it was her mannerisms it was. Her bike. Wants that like to see her. It was exciting. It proves that she got Elisa's far so now we have a place where we can start from. Instead of searching the whole city. Police came to believe that whatever happened to make. It probably happened right around here on this lonely stretch of road. That was part of her normal route home now. Police saw making unsecurity cameras during the early part of her journey. But not on the cameras that you would have passed later on. The only problem was that a detailed and extensive search of this area turned up nothing but there was something else detective saw on that security video. Something much more ominous here just after Mickey cycles out of frame someone in a White pick-up truck drives into Frayne. Following Mickey at an uncomfortably close distance. Now for the first time police felt they had evidence someone else was involved. Charlie knew that if Nikki had been abducted it wouldn't have happened without a fight if someone took her and she's conscious they're hurting have broken ribs. A broken arm broken nose. I kept saying that. Look for someone who's beat up around the office around your neighborhood. Because they might be responsible for this it would have been totally in character for her to fight back but the clue in that video would prove as frustrating to detectives as it was fascinating. They're going to be allowed. A White pick-up trucks in Louisiana within Lafayette Parish and surrounding parishes over three thousand coming up a giant. Turn in the case. Stephen Barshop tournament said okay. I want you to freak out or anything but I think we found her bike. Where was it what had happened US thinking? Who did this dig like continues? Where'd you see her going? I was pretty. She's GonNa end up teaching horseback riding lessons and big job working for an equestrian owning her own someday. When Mickey wasn't with her animals you could see her whizzing around town on her bike. Lafayette's a small town. You can get anywhere and that city on a bike and twenty or thirty minutes which was one on a late Friday night back in May of two thousand twelve. Having listened to live music with France Nikki planned on riding her bike home. We grew up there. It seemed really save. Ricky's brothers high. The graduation walked into the door and turned and told her good night to be safe. That did not at the time. Seem like an important moment but it would later be revisited and re examined again and again because somewhere at some point and for Bradley says she left his house. Mickey Shuler vanished. Nobody knows what the Stop because it's not about it's about the high the rush you know. It's tricky because it's like every time he put on one of them little stickers. I did a real shitty thing when I was a kid. I worked in this place at a cash till and that always scoop an extra twenty or thirty dollars. I myself because I was getting paid underpaid. I was like no one's going to miss this money. That's what people do in their underpaid. Eight yeah I know I was worked at drugfree. Paul produced a project that that I worked on. Yeah come out and they do it. There is not a name for yet so we got into a situation where we did this show and it's called scroll wheel of time because there's like based on an old school ipod and then after we kinda finish. Oh we've realized that there is a giant property operative Lord of the rings style thing called Scroll Wheel of time or something like that. It's very close to the name. So Amazon is releasing that as a giant series series so our title just almost exact same title so now we have to run the gauntlet and people are testing it out. I think last time there's a few you on the table. They're all they're fine. I think it I don't know what it is right now avenue email I can tell you okay. Yeah it'll be good. It'll be coming out and it'll be good. The deadlines came at at the same time. I think very confusing. Because they were like this show. And also this show with the same name but different people and people kept looking up the other ones and congratulating when I was like I'm not that white lady no no it's a tricky one and yeah and I feel like I just heard that that show had problems and they shut down so right now we do have a a little bit of lead times. I think we should get out there and the name the name to take that name. That's a scam that I am for. What's your relationship with scams? You see have you been scammed. I have a good scam story so I was going to. NYU And I came from a pretty pretty safe suburban lifestyle like now. What city are you from? Long Island I was like from Huntington northport think that that area but I spent a lot of time in the city with my dad. My Dad lived in Queens and I worked in the Bronx with my dad every weekend and all summer long long so it was like in the Bronx debt and I felt like I was aware but I also still had like my like suburban naivete and when I went to NYU one day. I was out in front of the building that I was staying in my dorm building. And this guy came up to me. And he was very meek looking guy and he who was crying and he just looked scattered and upset little spike Jones picture spoke with Spike Jones. I'll like like way fee. Yes sad man airy way he said man and I fucked up fucked up so bad I am a costume designer for Ridley Scott and I I have his eye. I'm doing a costume fitting and I'm supposed to be down here in downtown but I left my keys to my car car in my apartment and but to get into the place I need to get is. It's here but I need to get back there and I need to. I need to get up to train because I have to do this. An Hour. The the SOB story of basically like Keeney get keys to get into this place and look I'm looking at this guy. He's freaking out and it was like. Oh Oh my God like yeah. Of course I'm GONNA help you at least got costume designer so many random details so many so many random details and I believe at this point in my life like me and my friends were also all like rollerblading out on Fifth Avenue where we are a dorm building. Wesner all learning blamed roller blading in New York. He's like this guy's got money. Well this is at a certain point to where everyone was like rollerblades. It's cool right. We're all in on that and you know I once I mean ice scam. Somebody one time where I told them I could. ROLLERBLADE did not know how to rollerblade. Even though I was out in front trying in and around New York City and all I do is hide out all day and cut my twenty five dollars an hour but but so we he but he was so nice and he gave us some rollerblading tips and we were so disguised. The Best I can not in a hurry. It seems like it was in a hurry. He was but he was. Like you guys rollerblade. I know it wasn't like it wasn't a long lesson but it was a sweet moment and so I gave him twenty bucks and my friend gave him twenty bucks and he's all right this is where's your dorm. I'm like this is my dorm is I'm going to come here. He wrote down our room numbers. I'll just put your address because we were in front of the building and it was like he's going to put it back in our mailbox again. Of course twenty abuts so it never came the twentieth of course right and and so then doing it negate any as I'm doing it again so and it became this legend of this guy. 'cause everyone got scammed by this guy so when I saw him doing it again islas I literally guys like you and I yelled real out very aggressive. Not Not me at all and he turned and like fucking took my the money and he was like. I don't know what you're talking about. I was like me and my friend that confronted him different friends. He was also scammed by him. Not with me so we both like we both around him and again waifish dude two guys that are basically freshmen in college. So I feel like we have an energy that is probably a little bit more aggressive as I am now older and I look at like. They're scary to me but we we kind of moved on him. Can you be dismantled before we got in there. And then all of a sudden his muscle came out from behind a phone booth like this giant mountain. Another man who was like. Oh clearly this is a two man. Operation in this guy came out and was like an just gotten this guy. Was the scariest looking dude. Dude I just remember like like being like I level at his peck like that's about how high was and I was like Oh Fox Terry crews came out and I and I was like Oh is going to help you guys and we're like nope we left then cut to like four years later. See this guy again. Same Area Working Pretty Much Fifth Avenue from tenth all the way to Park in like twenty third which is not in New York City. Not that big of an area and and I see him again and this now it's been years later and he looks worse for wear like this. He's running the same scam now and it must be exhausted. You've gotTA gotTa Cry Every Day John Q.. Several Times a day you gotta give people rollerblading. Jeff's wild oh you're probably lucky that you were in college because if he asked for your address address hit Your House Rob I mean the only benefit is that apartment buildings in New York. I feel like our harder at that. Point had nothing. But you're right and and now that I have things I don't give out my address but before I was like sure I had like a computer from Radio Shack in my am I think so But yeah so then I saw him and this is the way I got my revenge. Revenge him three more times in petty I I have to go after him very modest. Okay people over small amounts of money Paula. Years thing. You did your duty like so what I what. What I did was every time I saw him? I would be I liar. He's a liar. Just say as long as I could to whoever you look crazy on the street no because then people like walkaway because they'd be like oh right 'cause it's like oh you did it in the middle of his hustle. Okay Yes oh yeah no no no no. I wasn't just like following a random man around the state of whenever I saw him doing I will get in there and liar. He's lying to you. Have these making it all up. He's GonNa take your money and then I would watch and that was the vindication I did so I did that three times now. Paul is very hairy of you is it. Yeah why isn't he eatery of means you gotTa let this man to his profession or twenty one years old man's taking twenty dollars to me under twenty one years old was like five hundred dollars on. Okay let's put it this way. I was on a meal plan. Listen we all wear. Let's twenty dollars just to give me hype. I don't know how I would make twenty dollars the twenty bucks a subway say cut that in the half I can have two different meals on different days. Like Shit was working on twenty dollar. Listen all right. Well here's the thing. Though whether he is the costume designer Zainab for Ridley or they will weather not who we be not the design of Ridley Scott whether he is or not Dan you see oh twenty again I know but then why do I have to. Why would I let anybody else get skin? It's like a go find me like whether the little baby he gets legs or not look if he came up to me and asked me if he came up to me and asked me for twenty bucks I would have more respect for it now. We'll give I give money. I'll give money because you'll be on your dedicated a good push into your life. I tricked. I felt tricked. I felt like I don't like that. I think that that's that's like I don't like when people are not on the level like that to me. I'm like well like that. Like rubs me the wrong way. In a way that is I will give money. I will like I will do things I am. I'll put myself out there but when I feel like when I got like like that like con. We're talking about younger me me me now. I wouldn't it has given out twenty dollars. Well over a whole different thing it would just be like it was I think the first moment of feeling this is the first one. I got like scam scam. What are the cities of a terrible place city? Play exactly which is amazing to me. And then the second time when his muscle came came out and I was like. Oh we're GONNA get fucked up so then it was like a little bit of fear and then there's three times we're trying to razz him. I didn't it didn't deter you though and also like what a stop walking. Yeah I yeah. The first confronted them. Because what if this man is like ally prostitute you know what I mean like. What if he goes out and he did he makes the money beat them at night? Oh I definitely believe there's some fucked up relationship with that guy and the two guys there's totally fucked up relationship. They're also just getting twenty. Is this a big deal. I also is in college a long time ago. So account inflation in. I'm just saying there's a lot of shit going on there. I haven't been petty. You're right like I normally. If someone asked me to borrow money give them money. I don't expect it back. I live you gotTa do uh-huh if you give someone money expected never see it again. So don't ever give more money than you would expect like if you give the money and the next time you see them you like. Oh well you get starbucks from starbucks. Yeah me too much even like what my mom moved out here to La And like my mom's always back I'm GonNa pay you back. I'll get this I. I don't know I'm a I'm not. I'm not in this game of like payback or anything. I like just being like. was that the masking my mom for money. But it is my Mama You see below petty man. He really holds me down to this twenty year old career two decades ago. So how you doing how you doing. Yeah Yeah you got some new bat but by the way if I fucking guy today I would still go after. Walk that guy. I appreciate that that. Have you ever gotten scammed like that. Like I've had that exact same scam game. Having to make good on those times and I saw shaking people download like good for uses like. She was the gas like I just need money for gasoline. They can because my mom and the hospital but my daughter Daycare scam okay to the ATM and got the money. The only reason that her is because I heard on my school campus blotted that she has star the people up this shit. That's what I'm saying. I believe now that you just said to me I went to the ATM to it may have been more than forty. It may have been more than twenty bucks because now remembering that we went to an ATM. And that's how I learned about the rollerblading stuff. It's all coming back to me because that's why he had to entertain y'all on the wall. Yeah exactly man I know but that's my I mean look every now and then I'll get. I'll get caught.

You can live in the trailer in in front of it. So they cool and she said she that she wasn't going to hear from me for six months. But I just jumped on the Greyhound the next day and then she brought me in. She helped me a A class to learn how to use a computer is a graphic design class. But you also. I didn't even know how to use a computer. So learn like email and all that stuff. Yeah so and then I went to a at the time I met a bunch of people and then that's when like making websites was like a big thing making websites should people bowl for like extra cash. I moved out of the trailer and I was making website for this like Like small indie record label thing kind of came and went pretty quick that label but then in the room and I never wrapped in front of everyone. Just Kinda shot like that and then I was just on the thing. I didn't know anyone who's behind me wrapping. And then the guy came in and like he had a few records he was going to press like few different people. Then he's the what was that like. Nothing they know really what like that. I was like singing the song. So what's wrong with that and mine. He's you're the next one we're GONNA do so then the first time in the studio and the now is the first waiting reading today. That was the first time I ever did. And then just from that and then with the Simon Rax with dirt nasty. I'd go to his house a lot. We record she together so it was kind of those does two things and then I was on his cribs on MTV so as those things and then I got a manager like you found me. That's Kinda Funny Story Story to call me up and I thought it was. Simon pranking may yeah and then just kind of took off that's when we started handing out the CDs CD's but if it was left to my own my own skills were to happen. It was basically that manager. who was like we're going to do the show? And then he kind of and then those unhappy with your smile tired of feeling self conscious and photos..

"Mickey D's bagging seventy nine it'll be off fortieth anniversary since I started the guardian angels, February we're getting old cops and the four six nwc Rier avenue. They come in. They never looked for free food the guys from the five to precinct of north. They'd always one free food any come in. And naturally I'd be coming to the counter and say, well, let's Mattie Sergey got alligator arms. And he looked at me. And he said, no, I just don't have any cash on me right now. You know, you know, and I'd say, well why not reach into that pocket where you keep your blackjack. Oh, man. That's a way to yourself up for local events. A lot of the cops back then won a free food. Now. Amazing politicians will get you know, five star top shell file wined, dined the pilot. Yes, they will get into trouble. But if a cop takes a free Cup of coffee, he could have a turtle affairs all over. But what cops like to do is. Let's face it eat donuts, right? A little bit of a stereotype that may not be accurate. Cops. I know are very good shape on wait for the fresh buttermilk twist to come out of the Tonkin donuts. Everybody knows that he say not cops. I'm big issues, impounded doughnuts. And a lot of cops will let you know. Even though they running after much in scale all day right win, and whatever that guy, but they also pack on the pounds because he eaten a lot of bad food out there other than just doughnuts. Look, you might have that kind of an occupation in which you trying to lose weight you're on the treadmill? But the only food you're eating bad food fattening food, you need to.
