"All the remakes brought up a game. A new search and popularity of the song Dreams I saw the video and literally I've been listening to dreams driving my car to the grocery store because I just remembered. Oh, that's an amazing song that I really like, but I haven't heard it or I kind of like forgot about it. Yeah, and this prompted Mick Fleetwood himself to create a tick tock video feed were created a video on October 4th the sole purpose of posting a recreation of apodaca's video, which will also Link in a show dance and he wasn't the only one so Stevie Nicks joins the platform on October 14th specifically to post a video of her own in response. She might not be cruising down the road like Apodaca and Fleetwood, but she can be seen sitting at a piano wage lacing up a pair of roller skates with a bottle of Ocean Spray in the background just still perfectly capturing the mood and the vibe. It's really really great stuff and we'll put that in the show dog. As well and members of Fleetwood Mac were the only ones to respond to apodaca's viral video it became this Tick Tock challenge, even though Apodaca never meant it a challenge. He was just in a mood he was going to work and he was going through a tough time his car had broken down and he's like, hey, I'm gonna skateboard to work and I'm just going to choose to be positive and I'm just going off still feel good and I'm going to vibe to my song and so he didn't do it as a challenge but celebrities of all walks and regular people just everybody starts jumping in and piling on track to get a little piece of that positivity that he has and so then Ocean Spray reaches out to Apodaca on September 29th, just four days after he posts the video but Ocean spray's First public response didn't come all the way until October 6th. The stage was certainly set for oceanspray to jump in and acknowledge that their juice had Inadvertently acquired Global Fame by responding to the video sooner but instead the brand played it cool. Yeah, which I think is smart to first. Let it build up steam organically before they start harvesting the awareness from it because otherwise it's a lot of the secondary content creators. They wouldn't have jumped on the bandwagon because they wouldn't want to be associated with the brand new age. So they planned and organized their response while the meme unfolded naturally in gained more and more popularity online to your point two days after Mick Feet Work himself. He he joined the Hypes running the video ocean spray's CEO. Tom Hayes joined Tik-Tok as well posting re-creation of the video himself, which I think is pretty cool off and the caption read did we just become friends question mark any tagged Apodaca anus? So the video was represented as Hayes response the CEO but not the company per se what is considered the country's response came the day after October 7th and it.

He has generated a whole new home for this week. Let's put it that way for this week. He's generator a whole new challenge and stuff and a lot of people are going out there trying to replicate or or get the same kind of hits and likes and stuff. Well just you know because of that video and because he's got that little can of her little bottle of Ocean Spray cranberry juice was offered a truckload cranberry juice from Ocean Spray Nathan wage. Partyka from Idaho posted the video of him sipping cranberry juice while skateboarding to the soothing sounds of Fleetwood Mac. The video has been posted on Tik-Tok last month and got over 25 million years. Now. This is a month not a month old. This is a week old. So he's already up to Thirty 1 million views Fleetwood Mac singer, Mick Fleetwood enjoyed it and joined it and uploaded and did his own version of the same exact video. So he received see what it says the same when she received it just shows a truckload truckload of Ocean Spray drinks from the cans to the the thirty two ounce bottles and stuff. Now here's here's a great thing to actually talk to them. And this is what he had to say about the whole thing why he did the video and what's going on in his life this what Nathan had to say right now. I've gotten over ten thousand plus it's crazy. I was coming home or coming to walk. Like I said my car just shuts off sometimes, you know the battery. I don't know what it is. It just shuts up. So in case I run out of gas or something, so I just jumped out my longboard. I was like, I'll just come back and figure out after work started going home. I started going to work and then on my way to work, we have a little turnaround spot, you know after turn off. Whatever it is, whatever it's called off the highway. So then I decided you know, this would be perfect for a video. You know what I mean? And then that underscore Matt eighteen. I think that's his name. They're all tunes featuring the guitar of the late Peter Green, who founded Fleetwood Mac, along with Mick Fleetwood. Back in the mid 19 sixties. Ah, he passed away in a sleep eater. Green did Ah, yesterday and ah, he was 73 years old and just an excellent Excellent guitarist one of my favorites. Peter Green, Jeremy Spencer, Danny Kerwin, Just an excellent band and Peter Green just had this understated, fluid style that ranks him among the best guitarist in the world of Rock and blues. History in Five Songs 47: Bands of Individuals
"So this is episode forty seven. We are going to be calling this bands of individuals. I couldn't think of a snappier title. But this basically explains this concept and it's actually a pretty elevated concept If you don't mind me saying this is something I've always felt and it's an episode. I've been burning to do So let's just get to it. I mean essentially One funny thing about this episode is it's not very heavy metal or hard rock. Although I am going to be mentioning a lot of bands that are hard. Rock and heavy metal but my examples per se are not particularly in that field. But I am going to end with a with a classic heavy metal band so So all shall be forgiven. I hope by the end of this. I might mention a few Honorable Mentions Myself All right so we're GONNA do this one a little bit differently. I hope it doesn't go on too long. I probably will shorten up when it comes to the actual entries but I have a little bit of a along intro here so I went to you the fine listeners. And and said hey give me some examples of this and it's kind of funny The example started flowing in and I'm going to read some of those in in a second But what I realized when I was reading these examples is I'm not too clear on what my concept is for this. I hope by the end of this episode and when you hear examples you're GonNa understand what has always been stuck in my brain for decades essentially about bands. That are like this why I think there are certain bands truly truly truly like this. So let's just get on with that so I sent. I sent off a facebook cry for help here So what did I say here so So here's a really cool concept that I'm at four at need one. More as I said bands of individuals and ecosystem is created with a clear north South East and West. It's an ecosystem that has not one world but four five teams that comprise a complex world. I've thought this for years about these four bands. But do you get my drift strode. A few band names and if one of them just hits me like a lightning bolt. I'll know it but I don't want to explain further or debated. Let's save that for the episode. Only one of my choices is remotely a metal band. So that's what I wrote And yet just to explain a little more before. I read some of these Entries the idea here is that these bands create almost like You know you think of a little Snow Globe that you shakeup and there. There's the snowflakes in there. There's this enclosed world that is a weird world but very importantly this world is not one that ends up being kind of a unified sounding thing that a lot of other band's sound like it is a world unto itself that's number one but number two it does have an east west North and south. I mean it. Basically sounds like a world of individual players or Feifdoms that is making this up so doesn't sound like particularly like a unified whole. It sounds like a band or a record or song that you listened to where you can't get the members themselves out of your head when you're listening to it. You don't think the band name you think all of these original members jumbled up together at once. I think that explains it probably pretty well but let me tell you quickly and what I'm going to do here is I'm going to leave out. The bans That were suggested that are actually my choices anyways. And I'm just going to go through some of these very quickly dispelled the notion of why didn't include the more. How they they? Almost clay came close. Oh so we've got vanya Derek. I mentioned led Zeppelin Queen Cream and Russia. Okay all of those are pretty close but no cigar. They had certain things about them. That were almost two unified Long Story But those ones are are all pretty close but let's see Jacob Tannahill said sons of Apollo Mister Big Asia. Any one of them fit the bill and I actually almost thought Asia that I would include But Yeah I think he's getting the point here Sons of Apollo definitely. You know the big the big You know important band members. Asia supergroup The police New York Doll says Thomas Hackney also the pretenders I would say no on the pretenders I would. That wouldn't have come to mind. I wouldn't New York dolls that come to mind. Police is one of my honorable mention so with that band. You know you are thinking This this chicken scratch sort of textured a guitar playing from Andy. You know base. I don't think you think of sting so much base but you think of that vocalist and then also I with Stewart Copeland. You definitely get a unique drummer. That is a distraction. I mean you're thinking of him when you're hearing these police songs so yes that's a good example of what we're getting at here. Augusta Garcia parade. As mentioned the clash. I would say no I don't. It doesn't really fit the bill here. Thomas Hackney comes up with AKS little bit. That's kind of cool. One Eagles Blazed Barshop. Says no I wouldn't say so Going to leave Well no I'm not going to leave this one because I kick them out. Pat conners has fleetwood Mac. I actually was include fleetwood Mac but I couldn't see myself playing a fleetwood Mac song as one of our five choices here but definitely you get the yet. This is a perfect example. And like I say I was one of mine that was on the at the top of my head. You get. Basically these. Three distinct vocalists are all with their personalities and their baggage in their own solo albums. The whole bit Stevie Nicks Christie. Make Christine mcvie his Christine. Yeah and Lindsey Buckingham All very distinct vocalists. And you also get You Know Mick. Fleetwood is the is kind of the the patriarch of the ban. But you had get this very stripped down drumming John mcvie Idaho. Don't really think of him too much in this but Lindsay as well you think of a very distinct Sort of I said chicken. Scratch already with Andy Summers. Chicken scratch makes a lot more sense with Lindsay So again you're listening to fleetwood Mac song or a few in a row and you're thinking oh when's this focus gonNA sing or that one or oh. They're they're doing this together And then and then. Lindsey gives you this very stark guitar Solo And and you get this very sort of straight line B line kind of Feel to a of their songs so that is a ban when you're listening to them. I can't get the members individually out of their heads hence bands of individuals. Okay

"For Tana. Yeah. All right. Let me fill the Blake for you. She could see what she wants publicly, but behind the scenes, Jennifer Aniston who, of course played Rachel on friends wants no part of a friends reunion. And by the way, Jennifer Aniston is the main person blocking any reunion. Wow. This is this is this is what I love is it, though. Why wouldn't she what does she have to lose? It's not like her career is like on fire because I think she would end up coming off. Gosh, I don't know how to say this. I feel like what do I feel like I feel like her ego is such that she doesn't want to risk? You know, there's no need for her, right? Like what, what, what would be the benefit for her doing this on publicity? I mean they write articles about her pretty much every week. Anything? That's true. That's the only reason that I think that Jennifer Aniston would wanna do friends reunion is to help out other cast members. Yeah, I mean, but you see ban members do it all the time. You know, go on reunion tours to help out, you know, Mick Fleetwood, for example, who's down out. All right. Let's do this for him. Back on his feet. Is there anybody like that? Like, where's every what's, oh, what's going on with what's his name? The one Matthew Perry, like his hand good place. Had some health problems last year. I feel like he's had a rough go thing. He's, he's had a lot of failures as far as like TV shows. Right. Internal organs that do also, I don't know. I struggle with all I struggle with the whole notion of going back to that thing, 'cause I get we're that could seem him somewhat oppressive for the people involved what if they did a one time just live show like they did with all on the family and the Jefferson that would be huge. Why not? TV off would be great. I also think TV is not what it used to be. You know, it's not like a step down necessarily maybe network TV might feel that way to some of these movie. Now one episode why can't we just do one Chen? What are you gonna be such a pain in the? Range..

"Guitar player magazine once asked me who who is your influence, and I said, Hank Williams. And they said Hank Williams doesn't play electric guitar. And, but that's where it was and music to me is like a facet in my life. I I love many things I've trained lions and Tigers for raising for thirty years and been in the Marshall with thirty years when flying airplanes and just doing so many things that are very interesting and music was just one of them. And I was raised actually listening to the big band era like guy Lombardo, Harry James in the first person that I really listen to us chain coupon drums, and that's where I get this. This heavy staccato drumming affect on playing like, Mick Fleetwood Fleetwood MAC once said to me watching me said my my God, he says you play your the most progressive Garissa I've ever seen in my life. You look like you're playing drums, and and I do I'm playing all the different parts of the drums when I play my guitar. So actually drums was my first and Jeanne Cooper was my first big influence. Some of the surf music stars didn't really serve most most notably the beach, boys. But you did you actually did serve. Is there a connection between the sounds that you'd hear surfing in the kind of music you were playing yesterday actually sounds were actually compared to? Actually, my lions and Tigers and the ocean the power of my Tigers and the power of the ocean. When I would get thrown across the cage with one blow or seeing the cat goes with twenty two hundred pounds per square inch by four stainless, steel pan. And you just marvel at man cannot control that and then you get out in the wave, and then you get out in and you stop paddling, and you're facing a six footer or an eight footer and let alone a ten footer. It is the most frightening thing in the world, and you just have to just dig down and go for it. And then when you get sucked up and taken over, you never feel strength like that and your life, and you just can't stop that that policy you must ride with it. And that's when I learned to really go with the flow of everything in life and the waves did create my feelings of that sound like a deliver wave coming over the top of my head. I stick my finger in the wall and get my ear up as close as I could get into that tube. Or then doing a bottom turn and missing it and getting sucked up over the top. And being just crunched right through your board. And those days we used to big big ten footers, you know, did the sound of the ocean. Making wanna get that that loud amplified sound that you want it. Yeah. It was it's a combination of the ocean. And the roar off my Tigers and lions and just putting it all together that force and the of the ocean just has. Has the two sounds. It has to one that comes over the top of your head. It's a lacy sound. And then it has that bottom rumbling sound. And then it has that wipe out sound and with my big sixty gauge strings guitar players are using sevens and eights nines, the slinky's know, intense, Mike, my thinnest string is a fourteen and wound. And then I use to eighteen and one's for my second and third string. And then my fostering, I here's a thirty eight wound in my fifth. They use a fifty eight forty eight and then I use have fifty eight or a sixty once I can get. So this is like really thick strings, you're using and that gives you. Yeah. It gives it a big. Joe Sullivan calls him bridge, cables, he. It gives you a real real fat thick thick sound along with the combination of what goes into the amplifier and the guitar, and the the speaker, it's a combination of everything but playing them it's very hard. It's it's very painful because it's like sticking taking your finger and and going up and down the sidewalk with it. That's why I make faces everybody goes. Oh, man. You make the neatest faces because that's pain. Now, what about the picking style that you developed the picking came from my father, my parents? My father's side of the family, his grandparents his mother and father were born in Beirut, Lebanon, and my my mother's side of the family were born in Poland. So they I was subject to the the musical styles of both countries. But when I had an influence of that Arabic music. When I came to California kid asked me said can you play on one string 'cause I was playing, but I called rockabilly, and I developed a rocket style of strumming guitar because I didn't have a whole band. So I I would go. So now when I did that this little boy is probably about ten and at my first show at the rendezvous balm and Balboa, that's when it opened up like seventeen surfers and the surfing when he says can you play on one string? And I didn't know what to do. And I says we'll come back tomorrow night. And I'll have something for you just to get get rid of them. And then when I went home, I says, oh my God. I'm going to get caught. I'm going to be found out that I'm a fake that I can't play on one string or something. And and I I thought and I says visiting new and miss Lewis played very slowly, I wouldn't and quadrupled the sound. I went because I wanted a machine gun staccato picking sat style which is very difficult to play. Because you have to keep your meter properly. And as a result, you break stainless steel strings, and you melt picks down two or three of them in a song. I'm they melt, and that's why I have a special pick pickle reach down. I throwing out when I play pick one up, and I continue melting. But that's how I get that sound like a machine gun, stop picking style. Let's hear your original recording of miserable which you made back in one thousand nine hundred sixty two. Yeah. I think the original people that did it was are probably turning over in their grave. And the way I play it. What was the scene like on the beach when you started surfing and flying? We would.

He made about Nebraska blues or Kimmy, Nebraska soul singer and songwriter his name being Rudy loved the film is called. This is love rubies. Written songs have been recorded by many, many, many people and many of those people he didn't even know that they were recording this song. Songs? And anyway, it's very interesting story about Rudy. Knows a lot of people recorded with a lot of people in the film is produced by musicians like Mick Fleetwood, and we talked to John yesterday, and he'll be in Santa Fe for the film and Rudy level. Be Santa Fe for the film and people heard about it. And now Rudy is looking for a blues band. Because he wants to perform, you know, he went through the UN to gig. Live somehow a passer, and one of these searches churches the Vineland over in Tampa. I just have to weigh in on this issue 'cause it's really pissing me off. All right. I don't understand. I don't understand. Why people are hating on me so much. I worked my butt off to get where I'm at and the good Lord bless me with this. What is what is wrong with people? Why can't they appreciate this way? They appreciate it. Dr. Okay. Thank you, seventy seven five seven nine one or two five. I was thinking about this and I'm getting deep. So you have a big time problem with this. Because you don't really believe in organized religion feel like probably most people that do are weak, and you feel like really really weak people that might not be a smart are the ones giving up all their money. You feel like they're preying upon the week. And not so intelligent to you. There's an element of that. But Moreover, I don't think that people should cloak themselves in God's name to make money. I think it's detestable that you would want to live a lavish lifestyle in the name of the Lord. And that's what this is to me. Do you think that in? This guy's one point eight million dollars. Do you think that he has people from his church ever to sleep over that, you know, when times are tough? No because member makes you let me stay in the Mick Fleetwood sweet out in LA. And I'm sure that the pastor would let people stay at his guesthouse for sure I mean, if he's leading people take test drives in that Lamborghini eras, which by the way is an SUV. So the kids stuff would feel good. Good perfect. Yeah. Lamborghini SUV. What was it? What was the national natural disaster? When wouldn't even let inside his church when RV shamed. And opening up his church for Harvey. To live. Julio julio. Jay, I I really I really want to say that. I think. Should live much more than their own members. Plus these days, it's not even past as this is all a business. Merchants. Do not really pass this. My man Julio when the church has doing people. Themselves b. A little bit of money. Honky glasses is ridiculous right on Julio. I'm totally with you. Let's let.

"No one tell tell anyone that that just happened? Okay. Sure. Mic Fleetwood sweet. What's that? For very important guests day like Mick Fleetwood. We're going to call it sweet would. Is a life. I can't even relate to yet. I love does does Billy get to sniff the guitars too. Sniff. My. You got so many hers dude when he took us into the Qatar room at the van. That was the. Okay. A house. John don't join commodity. Edge from you too. Like if you've got a guitar. Guitar guitar. Some spread Grimson. William what's up? I've actually got a question for the author's book. Yes. I am basically in the mode of actually becoming stepfather. I'm actually helping taking care of an absolutely wonderful three little boys. And like my goal is is I want him to know, right and wrong. I want him to be able to be able to to give to society. And I want him to know how to treat people like, especially so many so many people that they like so many guys today, they better women and other things like that. And I kind of want to bring them up that that's not okay. I mean, I'm a veteran very hot. I just want him to know the right and wrong. And and and I'm kind of having a tough time at certain things because he's not my child per se. Yeah. That's what I was going to say the number one thing you can do is lead, by example, because you think they're not looking or they're not watching or they're not paying attention. And it will come back every single time one hundred percent day. See every single thing you do even when you don't remember it. They watch everything they're little sponges. And is the only thing you can do is the best. You can do. I mean, honestly, you just can't you can't over think you, but try not to be a jerk yourself. If you want him, you treat women, well, then treat women. Well. Yeah. Because he is going to treat them, exactly. Like, you treat them even even if he's a step yet. I follow you know. Everything's set. Does I follow? Could be a good role model and a good influence in every chance. You get make sure he knows that he's loved. But that he also is sort of everyone is kind of on their everyone has to do their thing. Do your part. Yeah. And the other key is if you you know, if something happens that if. That you see that isn't appropriate right. That you don't agree with it's important to explain to them. Why like give them a reason don't just say no don't do that like get on their level? And explain it in a way that they can stand because I said, so..
