Andrew Wilkow, the next D 'Souza, Brandon Tatum, and more. Open debate and free speech you won't find anywhere else. We're not like the other guys. We're Salem News Channel. Watch any time on any screen for free 24 -7 at snc .tv and on Local Now Channel 525. Welcome to this week's Mike Gallagher Show Week in Review. What a week it has been. We saw a president fail to acknowledge the events of 9 -11 by giving a speech in Anchorage, Alaska, of all places. Then he lied about it. It was an amazing thing. I mean, what a week he has had. The news for Joe Biden is bad and keeps getting worse. For example, we talked about Biden's visit to Vietnam where they literally had to pull him off the stage. Man, oh man, did you see him in Vietnam? Holy moly. They had to pull him off the stage because he started babbling like an idiot. That's the president of the United States. And listen, we better hope he runs in 2024. Let's pray for once that a Democrat's ego torpedoes their chances for reelection. Because if he runs, there's no way Americans can vote for that. There's no way. It's impossible. That's not wishful thinking. It's, it's, you know, September of 2023 and they have to yank him off the stage. They did everything but take out that old vaudeville, the big hook, you know, you put the whole, pull the hook out and drag and then do a little soft shoe off the stage. Some disembodied voice comes over the PA and says, that's it. The press conference is over. And he looks around baffled and says, thank you everybody. Thank you. Where do I go? Where do I go? Don't throw me down, Clark. Certain sharp -eared listeners know what reference I just made there. Let's listen together to grandpa Joe. I want you to, I want you to hear what it sounds like when a president of the United States literally gets, gets the hook. They're so embarrassed for him. For whatever reason, he wound up in Vietnam over the weekend. Maybe air force one took a wrong turn and it landed in Vietnam and his appearance there by, you're going to hear about it all day long today on the news, at least on normal news. You might not hear about it on ABC, CBS, or NBC, but I'm not sure that even they won't cover this because it was this bad. Check this out. We talked about, we talked about at the conference overall, we talked about stability. We talked about making sure that the third world, excuse me, third world, the Southern hemisphere had access to change. It had access. It wasn't confrontational at all. Thank you everybody. This ends the press conference. Thanks everyone. I mean, what a disaster. And then he, then he goes and shuffles off. That's the president of the United States. The music is the best part. When they started playing the lounge music, Robert is in Sarasota. Robert, you see that clip? Yeah. Can I first use your platform to say, um, my thoughts and prayers are going out to everybody today, uh, that we're victims or new people. Absolutely. 9 11. And to follow that up, our president of the United States is booked 3 ,467 miles away into Alaska. You can't get farther from New York than where he's going to be today, where he canceled oil and gas leases. And clearly there's a God because that's exactly where he belongs as far away from New York. Here's the headline that every American who is suffering through the Biden administration needs to know 22 years of never forget. And Biden is spending 9 11 in Alaska. Meantime, we still got the, uh, the occasional troll or the occasional malcontent caller to the Mike Gallagher show. And I had a texture who claims that it's not really free speech to yell fire in a crowded movie theater. Of course, we're talking about all of the Democrats efforts to shut down speech. They disagree with beginning with Trump on down. And I played a montage of the Democrats denying the 2016 election to anyone who says that Republicans are a bunch of election deniers. What do you say about all the prominent Democrats who insisted that Trump didn't win in 2016? I just got a text from Macomb County, Michigan that I want to share with you. And then I want to play a little clip for the benefit of Macomb County, Michigan, and listen to this Michigan texture. Thank you. I mean, I appreciate that you don't agree with me and you think I'm a, I'm rotten to the core and you, and you, you, you hate my, my message on, on the radio and TV, but that's okay. I appreciate dissent and I, and I am truly intrigued. I always wonder, does the left do leftists like Macomb County, Michigan really feel this way? Or are they just regurgitating talking points that they've heard on MSNBC and they've read in the New York Times? It is a fact that election laws were changed and the election process was wildly upended under the guise of COVID. It is a fact that we had an historic amount of mail -in ballots. It is a fact that we had a record number of ballot harvesting. We things know were changed in 2020 under the pretense of COVID. That's a fact. And I'm not yelling fire in a crowded theater by stating those facts. That's their go -to. So let me read the whole text to you. And then I want to give you a video response, Macomb County, Michigan. And I challenge you to text me again. I don't want to embarrass you, but I'm going to challenge you to at least text me your response when I ask you about the video response that I have to your text. Here's the text. It is not free speech to yell fire in a crowded theater. It is not free speech to perpetuate a well -proven lie that there is some absurd sweeping conspiracy that stole the 2020 election and use that lie to divide people and disenfranchise millions and millions of voters. What you people are doing is destroying this country. You are working to drive the wedge between everyday Americans deeper and deeper. And you're just doing it because there's a market for it. Either you are willfully lying and towing your party line, or you're dumb enough to believe this trash yourself. You should feel deep, deep shame for perpetuating your lies. I hope one day you realize the damage you're doing and are tormented by your own guilt forever. Okay. Now, over the top drama queen hysterics aside from that text, let's take a look at the substance of what that person wrote. They want to sit there and accuse anybody who questioned the outcome of the 2020 election as somebody advancing an absurd sweeping conspiracy. So Macomb County, Michigan, what do you say about this? Trump didn't actually win the election in 2016. He lost the election and he was put in office because the Russians didn't appear. Trump knows he's an illegitimate president. The president of the lack of a legally elected is not legitimate. I don't see the president as elect a legitimate president. You said you believe that Russia's interference altered the outcome of the election. I do. We have a president who is in fact it is proven has been assisted by the Russians and may in fact not be a legitimate president. The one thing that Trump is fearful of when it comes to his being president is that finally we will see how illegitimate his victory actually was. I have an objection. I object to the 15 votes from the state of North Carolina. I object because people are horrified. He's an illegitimate president. Do you believe Trump is illegitimate president? What I believe is that there's no question that the outcome of this election was affected by the Russian interference. There absolutely is a cloud of illegitimacy. So that legitimacy is in question. Yes. That was a very tainted election. And in that sense, it's illegitimate. Now, Macomb County, Michigan, I dare you to write me back and follow up to your original text and condemn all of your hero Democrats the way you condemned any of us who questioned 2020. You see, you don't get to have it both ways. Meanwhile, back to Grandpa Joe's refusal to attend any of the 9 -11 ceremonies in New York or Shanksville, PA, or even where he lives in Washington, D .C., to commemorate that awful historic day in America's history. Tulsi Gabbard said it best on Fox News. Biden has decided he wasn't going to be bothered. He'd be up in Anchorage, Alaska. It's outrageous. It's last night on Fox News for those like myself, many patriotic Americans across the country who enlisted because of the jihadist attacks on 9 -11. I find it deeply offensive that he specifically chose to turn his backs on all of those families and all of those Americans. White House is saying that, you know, presidents don't show up to Hawaii on Pearl Harbor after all these years. What's the point? It's insulting beyond words. It was even more insulting. I don't want to say even more insulting. It was also insulting to hear in the speech that he delivered during that fuel stop in Alaska, him lecturing the American people about how it is our responsibility that we must take seriously to defend democracy. And he is saying these words, lecturing us as he and his administration, every step of the way, are undermining our own democracy, both by his politicizing the Department of Justice to go after Donald Trump, his major political opponent in this upcoming presidential election, his going after and changing the rules of the DNC to make it so people who vote for RFK Jr., their votes won't actually count. He is sending his Department of Justice after parents who are trying to stand up for their right to their children's education. I've been thinking a lot about the difference, the major differences between the right and the left in America. For example, the MAGA movement. The putting America first philosophy is met with such disdain from progressives and leftists and Democrats. But when you think about it, putting America first is something best exemplified by Donald Trump's policies. Putting America last best sums up the Biden Democrat approach. Judge Jeanine Pirro summed it up that way last night on Fox News as well. Well, it's consistent with his America last mentality. I mean, this is unprecedented. No president since this happened has not been at one of the sites, whether it's Washington, Shanksville or ground zero. And if you're from New York City, especially, I mean, I was in the city that day. I remember the smoke in the towers. I remember, you know, my investigators saying we've got to get home. We've got to get back to Westchester. This is a very sacred day for so many people. And the president doesn't see it that way. And the sad part about it is that, you know, the world is not a safer place now. It's because of Biden now that the Taliban is back in control in Afghanistan with all the weapons that we left there. We've got an open border now with people coming in that we don't even know who they are. And you can thank Joe Biden for all of that. You sure can. You know, one of the great mysteries of life for me is wondering if this kind of crap is intentional or accidental. And I ask this question all the time. Does Joe Biden and his team say, you know what, we're going to be the first administration in 22 years not to attend a ceremony in Shanksville or Washington, D .C. at the Pentagon or at Ground Zero in New York City? We're going to we're going to change the game a little bit. We're not going to appear. Is that a mistake? And as if the actions of Joe Biden weren't bad enough, egregious enough, the governor of New Mexico, some woman by the name of Michelle Lujan Grisham, decided to amend the rights of citizens of her state. Albuquerque in particular, she declared an emergency because of an incident involving the death of an 11 year old child. The governor said, well, there's gun violence. I get to declare a declare an emergency and nobody gets to carry their lawfully registered and certified guns. We must remember. The liberties, the freedoms that so many have fought and died for. And this new New Mexico governor has literally banned Americans who have a constitutional right to protect themselves from being able to carry in Albuquerque and the surrounding county for at least the next 30 days after a child was killed in a road rage incident. It's it's it's extraordinary. What's law enforcement doing in Albuquerque? What's the sheriff doing? The police chief. She's sitting at this press conference next to a guy who looks like a police authority. He's got a big gold badge on. And he looks very uncomfortable where this lunatic governor is shredding the Constitution, declaring an emergency, a gun emergency. This is what Democrats, if you dared to question a lockdown, if you had any skepticism about vaccines, if you wondered about masks, they came after you. They shut you down. Be kind of interesting to talk to an airline pilot who lost his job or her job because they wouldn't want to get they didn't want to get a vaccine. Do you realize we were firing people for not getting vaccinated? You recognize the absurdity of where we were just just a very short while ago? It's called tyranny. What the New Mexico governor, Michelle Grisham, is doing is tyrannical. She's acting like she's the emperor, the king, the dictator of New Mexico. And they're going to keep doing this and they're going to keep doing this and they're going to keep doing this until they can't do it anymore. Everybody ought to be aware of what she's doing, because what she's doing is absolutely un -American. What she's doing is obscene, where on Friday, this New Mexico governor banned people from being able to carry guns because a child was killed during a road rage incident. She's decided to declare an emergency. Oh, we have a gun emergency here. So now I get to ban your right to keep and bear arms. Check out this exchange. I want to play it one more time in case you're not paying attention. Isn't it unconstitutional to say you cannot exercise your carrying license? With one exception, and that is if there's an emergency and I've declared an emergency for a temporary amount of time, I can invoke additional powers. No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute. There are restrictions on free speech. There are restrictions on my freedoms. In this emergency, this 11 -year -old and all these parents who have lost all these children, they deserve my attention to have the debate about whether or not in an emergency we can create a safer environment. Because what about their constitutional rights? I took an oath to uphold those two. And if we ignore this growing problem without being bold, I've said to every other New Mexican, your rights are segregated to theirs. And they are not, in my view. I mean, this is lunacy. I pray for her safety. I pray for Joe Biden's safety. I pray for Trump's safety. I pray for all of our elected officials' safety. So let me make sure you know where I'm coming from, where my heart is. I would never want anything to happen to any of the people who are elected to hold office. But I wonder if she would be willing to have her security detail suspend their right to protect her.

In the relief factor dot com studios. Here's Mike. Got some good news out of New Mexico for you. If you were disgusted at the New Mexico governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, who tried to shred the Constitution and take away the right to keep and bear arms in Albuquerque, where do you hear an update on that story that I think is going to put a smile on your face? Portions of our show are brought to you in part by Americans for Prosperity. And they put a smile on my face because they are a terrific organization leading the charge to cut the reckless spending in Washington that got us into this nightmare to begin with. We've all watched interest rates rise. These these rising rates aren't coming from nowhere. They're the result of President Biden's out of control spending and the inflation it cost. Well, no one works harder at the grassroots level to end wasteful government spending and make the make life more affordable for all of us. I have made a personal commitment. And make sure you tell Mike Gallagher sent you a whole bunch of text messages on the MyPillow text line regarding Mitt Romney's decision not to run for reelection. South Carolina, Mike, I've been voting for over 40 years, hoping for a candidate like Donald Trump. President Trump was everything I could have hoped for. And I can't wait for him to return to the White House. Illinois, thank you, Mitt Romney, for saying the quiet part out loud. You are a rhino. You are an elitist. You're exactly who the progressives manipulate to spend trillions of our dollars. And finally, from Austin and Clearwater, Romney lost and Trump got a Republican back in the White House. His jealousy over that has never, ever subsided. Austin, as usual, is right. Let me give you some good news from New Mexico. First, I want to hear Judge Jeanine yesterday on Pete Hegseth. Did I see news? Did Lawrence Jones get named to be a Fox and Friends co-host? And I think it said Fox and Friends, not Fox and Friends weekend. Is he replacing somebody? Is Peter or Steve Doocy or Brian Kilmeade out? What's going on there? See if you can check that for me, Derek, because I saw that on TV when I was walking by one of the monitors here in the Salem, Orlando studios. It looks like Lawrence Jones got a big promotion over there at Fox News Channel. I'll give you an update on that here in just a moment. But speaking of Fox News, here was Judge Jeanine Pirro with Pete Hegseth this morning talking about this. Insane attempt by the New Mexico governor to take away the Second Amendment constitutional right to carry in New Mexico. She was asked, this governor is asked, you know, do you think this will stop people with illegal guns? She said no. And, you know, there is no point. You know, if she really wanted to fight crime, she could start getting rid of the cashless bail. She might consider upping or amping up police departments, making sure that they start closing cases, issuing arrest warrants, do sting operations on gun sales. I mean, there's a million things she could do. But the arrogance and by the way, as soon as she said it, her own attorney general said that's unconstitutional. I'm not going to defend you. And the judge who says this is unconstitutional was appointed by Biden. So I don't know if she's just trying to up her profile. You know, you know, I'm a female governor. Maybe you want to think about me. And then as the party starts moving away from Joe Biden, which I think is is starting to be kind of a given given David Ignatius column the other day. But it is it's a sad commentary on the left, totalitarian kind of thinking that we're going to suspend the Constitution on a public health emergency. You can't you won't. And that's the end of it. Well, she's right, of course. And here's some good news. Yesterday, a federal judge has blocked the ban on carrying guns in New Mexico's largest city. U.S. District Court Judge David Urias said the governor's suspension is absolutely unconstitutional. The judge said and this was a judge appointed by Biden. They just want the right to carry their guns. And he has suspended that. So, you know, good news for a change.

"I mean, you could go down a list of things that are impeachable since the guy came into office. All right, anything else in sports? That's a wrap, big D, right there. That's a wrap. All right, very good. We'll do some more sports. Sports is brought to you by Mike Lindell. Let's do a little, some new, oh, let's do some theories. Oh, you want to do my theory? We didn't get to your theory because we had Phil Patrick from Birch Gold on, so let's go. Theory on the New Mexico governor. Jumping back. New Mexico governor, Michelle Lujan Grisham, of course, she offered the 30 day edict on grabbing everybody's guns, everybody's pushing back. And like I said, my theory is this is something that the Democrats probably wanted to do, but just they didn't want her to do it. And they, and she did it too early because when you see the AG, the attorney general for the state, the ACLU, like I mentioned, Ted Lieu, David Hogg, the kid from Florida, the sheriffs, the police, everybody's come out against this as unconstitutional. But then it got me thinking, I'm like, did she inadvertently destroy the Democrats plan for what they had for the election, right? Because what do we keep hearing? We keep hearing about, oh my goodness, there needs to be a climate emergency declared, right? Declare a climate emergency. And with that, there come certain powers that the president can take and certain things that he can do. And I think by this governor taking this position of this health emergency and having everybody just smash it back at her, now you look at the attempt for the climate emergency next year that they're gonna try and declare climate emergency. We need to vote from home. You need to wear a mask. You need to do this. You need to do that because the climate needs to be saved. We can't let you out of the house to vote. You have to mail in your vote. I think that she inadvertently screwed up their entire theory, their entire plan. When did you come up with a theory that it's gonna be climate that they focus on? Oh, because they've been signaling it for the last, I don't know, six, eight months, climate. What the reporter asked Joe Biden last week or two weeks ago in Hawaii. Oh, when will you declare a climate emergency? I already did. Meanwhile, he didn't. So I think that's gonna be what they're gonna go to because let's face it. The media has already just gotten their marching orders. I don't know if you saw the dude from, I think it was Washington Post, Ignatius. David Ignatius, yes. Biden shouldn't run in 2024. And he's kind of like the go-to guy, right? Everybody follows his lead. Go check out Charlie Cook today in National Review, which I shared on our social media. And it's called A Little Crack in the Media. That's the title of the piece in National Review. David Ignatius and Axios herald a new movement in a new moment in left-wing media as he's starting to see a little bit of crack in the media on Biden running in 24. I'm not gonna read the whole thing to you. I posted it on our social media. Go check it out. It's called A Little Crack in the Media. Very important piece, I think, from Charlie Cook today in National Review. Yeah, and that's not a little crack. That's basically, they're giving them the high sign. They're giving them the old, here you go. Go to it, go get them. It's fair game now. I'll give you a good climate vicious take down that I actually saw today. Shared it on social media as well. Make sure you follow us on social media at LFS6B. Hour two, we'll start with that when we get back right after this. Yes. We'll be right back.

New Mexico Governor Suspends Right to Carry Guns in Public
"A Democrat Here's Michelle Lujan Grisham, hilariously, again, one of the top five dumbest governors in the in history, claiming that constitutional rights are not absolute. Someone get this woman a competent attorney, please, before she buries the state of New Mexico in billions of dollars in litigation. Listen to this. He took a note to the Constitution. Isn't it unconstitutional to say you cannot exercise your carrying license, with one exception. And that is, if there's an emergency, and I've declared an emergency for a temporary amount of time, I can invoke additional powers. No constitutional right, in my view, including my oath, is intended to be absolute. There are restrictions on free speech. There are restrictions on my freedoms. In this emergency, this 11 -year -old and all these parents who have lost all these children, they deserve my attention to have the debate about whether or not, in an emergency, we can create a safer environment. Because what about their constitutional rights? I took an oath to uphold those two. Oh my gosh, someone rights? Get this woman a Charlie Brown encyclopedia?

This isn't the first bank to cover expenses back in March, Citigroup did the same due to newly enhanced restrictions in Texas. The national labor relations board is accusing Starbucks of using illegal tactics against workers trying to unionize their stores. Mark Mayfield has the story. The more it filed a petition this week in U.S. district court in western New York, calling on Starbucks to reinstate 7 buffalo workers that they claim were illegally fired for trying to start a union. It also calls for Starbucks to negotiate with the store whose union election they say was harmed by anti union efforts. The board is accusing Starbucks of using an array of illegal tactics to discourage union activity at its stores. Starbucks says the claims are false, and that they are prepared to defend their case. I'm Mark Mayfield. Pop star Taylor Swift is speaking out against the Supreme Court's ruling to overturn roe V wade. Swift took to social media to share that she is absolutely terrified that women no longer have the right to abortion after decades of turmoil around women's rights. The singer has been outspoken about politics in recent years following the 2016 presidential election. She also shared a statement from Michelle Obama, who had similar thoughts on the ruling, saying she is heartbroken from the decision. New home sales are on the rise for the first time this year. The commerce department says sales of new single-family homes jumped 10.7% in May to an annual rate of 696,000 units, the gain surprised industry experts given the steady rise in home prices and mortgage rates. There's going to be at least one more NHL game this season, the Tampa Bay lightning forced the game 6 in the Stanley Cup finals beating the Colorado avalanche three two. I'm Julie Ryan. And I've do these Pellegrini in the Bloomberg newsroom. Some of the most recognized financial companies in the U.S. are also stepping in and saying they'll cover abortion travel after roe V wade was overturned. JPMorgan Chase Bank of America Deutsche Bank Citigroup American Express Goldman Sachs and Mastercard on that list. New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez among the House Democrats denouncing the Supreme Court's decision. AOC taking to the House floor to express her outrage. We know that this house has passed and is willing to codify row. But what we also need is answers from our colleagues in the United States Senate. New York representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Meantime, more big changes could be coming from the Supreme Court if it deals with a closely watched case on the clean air act. Former Deputy Attorney General and former deputy solicitor general down the air in the Reagan and Bush administration. The court is pretty likely to take a narrow textualist reading of that statute, which may well lead us to a very narrow reading of the clean air act and an impairing the function of government and that could limit the EPA's ability to fight climate change. More calls for another 75 basis point rate hike in July. This time from San Francisco fed president Mary Daly, who also says the fed needs to make sure it doesn't go too far. You don't know everything at any point in time. You have to look for every possible way in which the desired outcome could be unraveled by the things around you. And daily commenting at a speech in orange, California. And former treasury secretary Larry summers warning of a sharp economic downturn as the fed hikes. A little more on that coming up here on Bloomberg radio. And Chevron shifting more operations to Texas will warn that coming up as well. Cape Up with Jonathan Capehart
Michelle Lujan Grisham on U.S. covid-19 response
"Jonathan, Kaye part, and this is Cape Up. My guest has been her states. Secretary of Health sees represented her State in Congress today. She is said to be on Joe. Biden's vice presidential shortlist in chose it. She would be the first lat next American on a presidential ticket. She is New Mexico Governor Michelle Luhan Grisham. Hear what she has to say about that and her states response to Corona virus in this special case up live episode right now. Governor Welcome! You know I'm delighted to be on your show. Nice to meet you spend a little time with you Jonathan. Likewise. Thank you very much for being here now. I mentioned that you were the health secretary. You are a member of Congress because they gave you incredible insight, I think and how to deal with the corona virus early on you declared a statewide health emergency on March eleventh when there were only four cases in your state. What did you see that pushed? The pushed you to move so quickly. Well two things that you know that this virus is moving, and so it comes with travelers we've got commuters were movie Hijab I was still dealing with folks who were trapped on a cruise and California and I've dealt with the pandemic before and the. You Start and the more aggressively you start, the better control and management efforts you have in. This is the problem because you can't see the pandemic everyone I think falsely assumes it won't come here. The it'll be easy, and we'll wait until we see what's happening because I think for too many leaders. It's easier to explain you have to move immediately. Otherwise it rages out of control and we're seeing that all across the country now. What we follow up, you said you've been through a pandemic before. which are you talking Ebola or something else? Blue so we had two issues. We had a flu epidemic I said pandemic epidemic in two, thousand, seven, two, thousand eight, and then in two, thousand and five. We had a flu vaccine shortage so when you are in a state where you've got higher. Per Capita. Issues related to chronic issues for children and adults, and that you have a higher death rate then from influenza we'd have a third of the capacity of healthcare providers and hospitalizations I literally had to join with illiinois to. Import flu vaccine from Canada Rich. You really couldn't do then and we found A. Soft, can I say loophole and brought it in and I protected Mexica residents then we took. Out of flu vaccine, so I took all the mercury out of it to further protect new Mexicans. I wouldn't buy anything that had. Mirasol in it, and then when the epidemic was coming in the same thing, he didn't have sufficient investments in public health, so getting to people getting them vaccinated partnering with limited. A. Private Provider Group was really challenging so probably answering this too long Jonathan but in December I knew this was coming. I asked my teams to start planning in early January, so we began to have round tables and start looking about where we was secure. And testing supplies. That's really interesting. You started focusing this on in December. And then moving with your staff in January, so you anticipated what could happen, but didn't you anticipate the inaction from the federal government in terms of having a national strategy? No in my wildest dreams I would not be spending my known specific time finding supplies testing supplies, and the right manufacturers, trying to figure out which instruments right the FDA was going to authorize in an emergency use environment, then test for the for the virus, so not every instrument was available. Not every then re agent is available every testing because they're not all. They weren't at the time universal, getting swabs and then chasing. And, then, in my wildest dreams I wouldn't be dealing with the federal government who would literally then take the things that you secured and redistributes them for the country while you want it to be a country focus. Because it wasn't it meant that you were fighting? Frankly with other governors and FEMA to get the adequate supplies into your state, and now we're seeing it occur again because there was without any federal strategies, still now that you have these outbreaks, governors are in the same situation chasing down supplies and P P and trying to adequately cover their first responders is the most outrageous environment I've ever worked on worked in in my entire career.

Michael Brown
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham gives update on coronavirus in New Mexico
"New Mexico has been one of the states that took advanced measures to flatten the curve and slow the spread governor Michelle lu Han Grisham has been at the forefront of that battle and she's here to talk more about the impact code nineteen is had on her state welcome governor we appreciate your time and we know just this past Monday you extended the emergency stay at home order to April thirtieth it had been it April tenth do you believe that will be enough time it's really hard to say I know that it's too soon to change what we're doing in terms of our instructions to stay home and we also limited further what we identified as exception ins to businesses that needed to be closed in order to make sure that folks are staying home I think the whole country is looking at when can we safely began to think about moving into going back to work and engaging with our families again and I used to say it's too soon to tell but April thirtieth is where we are today and we are prepared to make additional tough decisions if we need to I know that you spoke with president trump about being very concerned for the Navajo Nation during the corona virus pandemic access to food is one of your greatest concerns how are you addressing this well it's those food and water and just sort of essential services and supplies in New Mexico we've got twenty three different sovereign nations native American tribes the Navajo Nation area in their chapters which is their local bodies of government you can have individuals that are forty miles from any kind of a grocery store gas station and so we are using the National Guard to set up food delivery stations were working on any number of sort of triage centers so that with limiting it needing to come in to get supplies were also not allowing anyone to be in a situation where they don't have what they need to you need a stay at home instruction and it's really tough this is an underserved population in every state it's true in New Mexico all of our sovereign nations by the federal trust responsibilities never been that they don't have adequate health care and other support and so this is just an apparatus population we're beginning to see real risks all of our sovereign nation so we're doing extra community containment measures that extra support and we're working very closely with the national service to increase testing every single one of our publicist for us and speaking of all of those big needs you have in your state do you believe the federal government has been responding with enough so far and now I can there's not a governor I think in the country that's gonna say it's enough I will tell you that the federal government has been much more responsive about trying to figure out what we're gonna do to adequately serve and protect tribal communities in the state another states we're looking at a regional potential operation for Utah in Arizona the Navajo Nation is in all three of those states they have increased our opportunity by declaring a national dental emergency for the state so that we can call up more of the guard they're making sure that we don't have an interruption in our food supply they're giving us field hospitals I think we're getting the right attention is any state in the position to how security for food and he he he and related supplies no we are not there yet yeah I am aggressively working on additional testing even though we're one of the states that signed fairly well because we got into the game of testing early but in so you can do a complete surveillance and testing in your state you are not prepared to serve your state adequately and this continues to be a source of significant frustration
