The Super Bowl With Two Black Starting Quarterbacks Went Viral
"So sunny hostin decided to make a commentary about the black quarterbacks in the Super Bowl. Mind you one of them is biracial. That means one of his parents is white and the other one is black, which is Patrick Mahomes. And then Jalen hurts his period of both his parents are black, they light skinned and so you know they mixed with something. But anyway, Jalen hurts being black, she gets on, and I'm paraphrasing that she made the statement to say that now we know that black people can run a team and there can be black quarterbacks. Well, first of all, that's why women y'all need to stick to y'all sports and leave our sports out of it. Especially if you ain't never watched football before, you know what you're talking about, you're just going on a rant about the Super Bowl the first one you've ever watched in your life. Black quarterbacks have been a thing for a very long time. Some of the greatest quarterbacks in history of the NFL were black quarterbacks. Somehow she forget about and I'm just going to say a brief number of them. Each of you get about one moon, way back in the day. Quincy Carter played for the cowboys. I mean, he was he great. He was a star quarterback on the cowboys. Dak Prescott. I mean, is he not black? I guess you don't count because he ain't in the Super Bowl. But then you go through Donovan McNabb, Steve, mcnair, Steve mcnair, you can go through college football and then go to the NFL. And they may not have panned out, but Vince Young was one of the best quarterbacks who ever played in college football in my opinion. He was one of the best quarterbacks to ever play. He got into the NFL may rookie of the year and then he didn't play after that because of his personal decision making. We can go down the list. Who you got, Nick. I mean, I think I got a few of them. Oh, you took my now. Lamar Jackson, which is the most dynamic quarterback in the NFL. And then you have Michael Vick way back in the day. Michael Vick came out. First round draft pick. Gun in it. Michael Vick was a tremendously great quarterback. I mean, I can go down a list of how many dynamic quarterbacks. In the funny thing is, is that they like to make a spectacle and try to point out everything they can to make us divided. And I talk about the black national anthem here in a second, but they try to make us divided.

Much like the Dallas Cowboys. Pretty good. All right, I mean, the 90s were great. I've often said that 90s were the best decade of all time. So it would make sense that we were the best team of the best decade of all time. So sure. We'll accept. We'll take that. How long ago that was a long time? It don't matter. Time ago, yeah. So I can repeat everything I said to you, pre show. Well, you were very angry with me. I mean, he was butter. You're a very angry with me. It was not butt hurt. Just put him up one more time. Put it one more time. I just want to see there's a team that's got 40 that's won 73% of their ball games all round down. And then the Red Sox are 12 and a half out despite playing their best baseball of the year, a dozen games out. I'm not good at matching a lot. That is 13 in the lost. June 14th. It gets later every time, doesn't it? I mean, because it's starting off, it was just like, let's do it for you too. Still June. Let's do this for you too. Oh, please. Let's do this for you too. Let's take a look at the national league east. Let's take a look at that team. The metropolitan city so nice. They named it twice. New York. New York. 64. We'll round up 65% of their baseball games. They have won. I love it. That's another 41 team right there. The braves have won an insane amount of games and they won their what? They're 1111. But they lost Ozzy albie's apparently for a significant amount of time. Broca's foot coming out of the fractured his left foot. Do you know the last time? The Phillies. Look what happened. They got rid of the binder. They were above 500. Now, but look at the metropolitans. You know the last time the metropolitans had 40 wins in this time of course. I mean, it was a long time ago. What year was it? It was 1986, but something could happen that year. Are you going to give me are we finally going to make a bed here? You guys will make a bag. I get the feel. And let me just tell you. No. Let me just know how it's going to just handle this. Let me just handle this, please. "On the previous underserved communities and want to continue to pay it forward and then we know that's the next generation or did a lot of work with the boys and girls club and renovations and want to do that in community centers. That's kind of my thing all across the world. And also, you know, just in the prison reform space helping out formerly incarcerated citizens to better their life and give them an opportunity. So diving in dabbling in a lot of those projects and trying to see what's out there what makes sense for the big family drinking farm brand and if anybody want to donate, you can go to big family and find out check out what you're doing all the information and become a part of what we try to do in terms of make changes in the community for all across the world. So two big excited about that, probably my greatest accomplishment. Well, me and my family's greatest accomplishment to this day. My wife is excited about it. She is the only four to just make an impact. And I can remember underserved communities all across the U.S. for years to come. Do you ever sit around and pause and reflect on what your life is now compared to what it was? Michael? Yeah, I do. A lot. And the thing is, which has been a lot of people there to help me along the way whether they gave me advice or they was always using something at some form of example and it was always tried to take that advice and use it correctly for the most part and I just reflect back on it. So I got four beautiful kids who also look up to me as well and I try to be an example for them and everybody else. Michael, thanks for the time. You be well. "What tour is doing, but what Kyrie can't get misconstrued is the fact that Patrick know how to throw people open and sometimes receivers might not understand why we might offset the ball or put it in a certain spot until you go back and watch the film. And it's been a lot of passes that I felt like Patrick put in a great spot that all these tyreek can get to because it's not the biggest guy. Obviously athletic and he can jump, but don't question your quarterback's accuracy when he's drawing you open and if he go talk to tour about what throwing you open really names of I think he had that conversation with Patrick so if you hear this conversation I'm having now. He knows what's throwing them open me and even just watching the highlights yesterday is it was circulating throughout talk shows I just seen that and a lot of those instances he was drawing them open and putting the ball with only Tyreke could get it. You know, that's accuracy too. So it helps out completion percentage. So, you know, Tariq is in a good situation right now. Definitely crane financial situation. I think right now it's just for him to enjoy being in Miami and try to make that thing better. You know, he got a new offensive new head coach who you look at what they did and San Francisco with debo and that's probably what he's going to be doing with tyreek. So he'll touch the ball more, but hey man, you know, just be proud of what he had to accomplish in Kansas City. Well, I mean, should I be concerned, Michael Michael Vick here and rich as a show? You tell me. Should I be concerned hearing, by the way, heck of a splash of a first podcast for tyreek hill. Should I, should I be concerned here that he's texting drew rosenhaus about his situation, which he kept in-house? This did not become public last year, but now that he's gone and somewhere else, that he's texting after a huge game one but game two wasn't filled on the stat sheet and he didn't get a lot of targets complaining. Should I be concerned that if he's doing that in Kansas City with mahomes and read and everything else that he's in a new spot that he's paid with a quarterback who I think the world of, but mahomes is a unicorn, should I be concerned about that if Tyreke was having complaints about that in Kansas City and now here he is a paid full pocketed guy in Miami with a new system, a new quarterback. Well, it just seems to me that Tariq just wants the ball in his hands and obviously if you look at the way Andy used them, he handed it off to him out the backfield. He swung it to him out the backfield. And I think he just want to touch it in any way he can and sometimes when you're a fierce competitor and you know the guys across from you really can't hold you or can't stop you. You know, it can turn into frustration and not saying a lot of the receivers go through that. Because they just want to touch the ball and they know exactly what they can do. But you got to remember, you got other guys that's running routes and trying to get open and just question is to get to be successful in their own right. So, you know, ball distribution is the real thing. And as you get older, you need to definitely monitor how much you touch the ball because as longevity becomes a key. And tareq is not getting any younger, you know, just so you know, just be careful what you wish for and just watch your workload. And one last one for you on this. Are you like tua as well? Throw it left handed, but do everything else right handed? Is that you too? I'm the exact opposite. The only thing I do with my right hand is right. Everything else in life I do with my left hand. Left hand is all sports left handed. Anything I'm grabbing with my left yeah. So that's kind of weird. That's different. So pencil or pen though you're grabbing with your right. So how many reps will it take? Do you think for tyreek to get used to a ball being thrown with a quarterback left handed quarterback? That is significant. I mean, there's no question about that. We won't take long about a week and two to one in the left hand. It's a beautiful pass when it comes out. Two ball is very soft. This is not like mine. And I was throwing it and it had a lot of velocity behind it. So it would take Desean and anybody that would work with Antonio Brown and Rodney Brown. This thing goes guys like, maybe a week to get adjusted, but they all, you know, they complained about it early. You know, it was just different to him. But when you throw a softer ball like two of throws is a lot easier to catch. Michael Vick here on the rich eisen show. Tell me about your new gig with level sports group. What's going on with you, Michael? Yeah, well, it's a great partnership to be a part of levels, just after doing expensive research and what they do and what they provide is what I've been doing for a long time with kids who come up through my camps over the years through our camp series in 2016, 2017. And these kids are growing up now and a lot of them are, you know, taking the next level and they reaching out to me and speaking advice and then I met you guys some of the guys over at levels and we was able to merge it all together to make it make sense for the future. So, you know, just trying to help young kids and whatever way we can. Especially going into college, you know, maximize the opportunities to make money, manage it, still stay hungry, still stay focused. And keep the eyes on the prize. So, you know, it's life-changing opportunities, but a lot of things, you know, take precedent, you know, the financial literacy part of it, the mental wellness part of it, on the mentorship aspect of it, and they're also the NI O the business side of it. So just trying to build something that, you know, in the future and it can be used to correctly and we can change a lot of kids lives and help a lot of kids, you know, growth for all the right reasons. Well, getting to know the NIL world a little bit better now, perhaps with the level sports group, Michael, how much do you think you could have made at Virginia tech if there was in name image and likeness back in the day? Michael. Yeah, well, I definitely think it would have been dynamic members. Definitely been enough to, like I said, definitely been enough to keep being around in school. You know, I wasn't the guy who wanted to leave early, but because of circumstances in my life, I was felt like I was forced to leave early. But I wanted to enjoy that college experience. I felt like I was just growing to my own growing to a man and that just didn't want to make life super serious, but sometimes as a young man you got to make adult decisions and I was a decision I made in time, but I would have boomed in the aerospace and I know it would have been done the right way. So man, you know, great thing about it is now these kids get an opportunity to not have that pressure on themselves. Now we get to pay it forward. Yeah, I mean, it seems to be that it's going to change it's already changing and it will change forever the landscape of college sports. I mean, you're already seeing some coaches can't handle it. And is this an opportunity for everybody to be proactive and understand what's out there, you know, who they're dealing with with the kids and why they want to try to specifically make them a part of their program and their brand and I think you just look at it from that standpoint and of course it's going to make it tougher. But it was already tough. Recruiting is tough as it is. So now, you know, some of these programs get to even the playing field and it's nothing wrong with that. It just evens out the competition amongst college football. I love that. I use the word. It would have been a dynamic number, right? It's dynamic. Dynamic. That's 7 letters. Probably like the figures it would have been. North of a million. Yeah. I couldn't settle for no less than that. I imagine so. I mean, you're Michael Vick. He's not holding out. And now, you know, what we saw from TJ watt and others where you hold in, hold in, which is I'm showing up, I'll be there at training camp and mandatory events, but this hurts that hurts, you know? I'm holding in. These days, you're not holding out because you're showing up, but you're not doing everything when you're showing up, you're holding in. I'm going to play my games indoors and I'm going to be in a division that Tom Brady is about to leave. I have that decision in front of me. All of a sudden he's like, Cleveland sounds great. That, you know, that would cause management to say to do one thing and say one thing and do another, certainly if, let's say you're a general manager and you're like, there's no way D and Jimmy haslam are going to guarantee you on it $30 million for this guy. Call, hey, Jimmy. Here's the way it's working. You've got to guarantee every dollar in order to get him. What does that mean? Well, that means about a 180 some odd million, you got to scratch that check now, and that's got to go into escrow because we're guaranteeing every dollar and that's the way it works in the NFL. Not as I'm not saying that general manager had to explain it to an owner, but it's possible. Hey baker, guess what? Yeah, we're going to go with Desean after all. That's a disrespect. And I'm sure he's kind of like, you know, one thing doing another. Yeah. Because in the same answer, he pointed out he had four different coaches over four years. Jerking me around. The issue with Lamar Jackson not taking what the ravens want from him is I don't think the issue the ravens have with it isn't that they're afraid Lamar is going to leave. That's your thought. Do you not want to be here? He says he wants to be here. And if you know his tweets about it, have been, hey, I guess media. I'm clearly paraphrasing here. Hey, media don't make anything out of this. There's nothing to see here. I love being a Raven. Let's go. And the ravens and we had John Harbaugh on last week on Friday. And his comments on the situation have been reported on and seen in other places and he essentially said, he said it when it's God's will and Lamar's will, it'll get done. The issue with it not being done again isn't that they're afraid he's going to leave because technically they've got franchise tags on him not once not twice it, but even a third time if they need it and the question about that is how much the price tag goes up and that's the problem. Not because the ravens don't want to give him the money, they can't plan properly, I think somebody I don't know who that is and I don't know if he needs it explained to him. But the longer he goes without signing a contract with Baltimore, the more he cap hamstrings the ravens from being creative enough to move numbers around and surround Lamar Jackson with the people and the team he needs to win the Super Bowl. That's the issue here is there's no like Kurt cousins went year to year with Washington because Washington didn't believe in him essentially. They didn't want to give him that long-term deal or the numbers that he was putting on the table. They said, go ahead and find it somewhere else and he goes, oh yes, hold my beer. And they found it. The issue is to plan appropriately to surround the man with the team that's necessary to win a championship and the longer he goes without signing, the more it's just going to be straight up one year deals and one year deals and one year deals and that might benefit his. Dollars and cents bottom line just look again at Kirk Cousins generationally wealthy and so are his grandchildren who don't exist yet. But if you want to win a Super Bowl and you're saying I'm all about winning a Super Bowl and the owner believes as Steve bisciotti said that the reason why Lamar is not asking for the money is he doesn't think he's deep down worthy of it until he wins one. And that's admirable. There's no question you could say that that is noble and admirable and humble and but in the long run for the team to build a team that can help them win a Super Bowl, it's not the most helpful way to go about it. You just got to focus more and you got to put more time into it and if I was a young quarterback now what I will be doing is sitting down with my coach figuring out how we get exploit defenses and try to anticipate what they're going to do so we can be ready, got to change things, modify the offensive a little bit. I would take on the role of being super proactive in the offense to how things materialized and.

No no not at all but it andrew luck is a guy who is a guy who was good at playing football.
