Now, we were mentioning how evil has become bolder, more brazen, more manifest, and it's waking a lot of people up. And you were talking about there's increased spiritual warfare from the dark side, the sorcery, people that are openly occultic. Talk about that. I had an encounter a couple of weeks ago, and a lot of people may not understand exactly what all this means. But, you know, I was praying, just minding my own business. And suddenly it's like the Holy Spirit just drew me into the spiritual realm. And at that particular point, I saw a vision. And in this vision, there was a large anvil that was there in front of me. And I saw a large metal hammer come crashing down on it. My first thought was, you know, this course hammers, anvils, that kind of stuff. But then I realized when the hammer hits the anvil with such force that it cracked the anvil. Something's different going on. That's not supposed to happen, right? Yeah, right. And so the Lord spoke to me and he began talking to me about how that he's bringing a hammer of justice against the anvil of idolatry and witchcraft. And so I looked this up and he said, I'm using the lion's army, in other words, the prayer warriors, third heaven authority warriors, to break that anvil. And he began talking to me about how that it's mixed up so much witchcraft, sorcery, magical arts, all talking about the same thing in scripture that's mixed up with Jezebel on the far left. In fact, Jezebel at one point by King Jehu, when he was coming against her, described and said that she was operating in witchcraft, sorcery. And so that form of demonic is actually involved in and connected with the far left. And the Lord said, there's so much sorcery mixed in with Jezebel's agenda. And when you look at all the things that are going on in America and he said, the body of Christ is bringing to stop to that, maybe not a complete stop, but we're paralyzing. We're exposing that form of wickedness that is behind it, because, you know, even the idolatry and false worship and false gods is demonic spirits. And so they're at play. Well, I know that you shared the kind of longer version of that story on your YouTube channel. I watched it. I don't know. It was a week ago or something like that. But so for people who want more of this, I highly recommend that you follow Pastor Mike Thompson on YouTube or wherever you can find him, Pastor Mike Thompson. "We have an obligation to care. Oh, exactly. You know, one of the good things that I want to say, Eric, is that I really believe that we are part of this pendulum swing that's coming back is not only on the political side and how God is beginning to bring righteousness and and justice back. But I think that there is a great spiritual release of goodness that's coming to the Kingdom of God. And I think that God's really moving people into a place to where I analogize that when Jesus was in the wilderness, trials, tribulations, all the things that he went through during that period of time, you know, the 40 days in the wilderness, that the Lord has been dealing with me, that we are coming out of the wilderness like Jesus. I'm talking about the body of Christ and those who are really spiritual warriors and really go for being released in the power of the Spirit. We're in a time of the power of the Spirit right now. And so that is changing individuals lives and is changing our nation in such significant ways right now. I want people to be encouraged if you're a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you are coming out of the time of testing, trials, tribulations, which this last three years has been. The power of the Spirit of God is going to propel you into great things, not only in your own individual life, but also for our nation. And I think that's another part of this whole thing we're talking about, the restoration of Donald Trump to political office, all of these things. There's such a shift everywhere in America right now, and it's so encouraging. Well, so to reiterate, you are really hopeful and you're hearing from God. I know you well enough, Mike, that you hear from God. You don't blow smoke. You're not just saying this because it's a nice idea, but you sense this in the Spirit. And you're an encouragement to those who listen to you because you're saying this is what God is saying is happening. We can see some of it in the natural. There is tremendous darkness. And I want to be clear to folks. We're in a war. We're dealing with very dark forces, but in a sense, they've outed themselves. The evilness has become more evil, more manifest, more obviously evil to people who normally would just be going through life. They look around at the madness and they say, wait a minute, what is happening? Men can't become women.

"Some of that is being activated politically. Some of that is being outspoken culturally. Some of that is sharing things on social media. Get involved in every way you can. But for sure, without any question, one way you can be involved is through prayer. And obviously you talk about that in the book Third Heaven Authority. But you are hopeful that we could bring Trump back and that God would use him to restore this country. And I just had General Flynn on a few days ago. And I think that what we have ahead is huge. In other words, the work that has to be done. The government has to practically be gutted. We have a tremendously corrupt government. And the deep state needs to be gutted. The swamp needs to be drained and defunded. We need total reform in the FBI and in the intelligence community and on and on. If we don't do those things, then it continues to be corrupt. So we do have a lot of work to do. But at the heart of it is God's people doing what God calls them to do. Yeah, and I think one of the things that people ask me sometimes, they say, well, does Donald Trump matter? I mean, you know, the plan is more important than the man. And I say, no, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Who could have replaced Moses? Who could have replaced King David? Who could have replaced Jesus? Who could have replaced Peter or Paul? The man matters. And at this point, that man has a hand of the Lord on him. And look, we don't need to pretend like, you know, in case because I can hear people say, oh, you know, they're comparing Donald Trump to Jesus and David. And folks, we could have just said Lincoln. We could have just said George Washington. We could have said Winston Churchill. The fact of the matter is, if it hadn't been for George Washington, I do not believe we would have won the Revolutionary War and become America because God appointed George Washington to do what he did. I believe the same thing is true of Lincoln. I believe the same thing is true of Churchill. There are figures in history and you've just said it. It matters. The Lord picked that person. The Lord created that person for that specific role at that time in history. And that's the case you're making for Trump. And frankly, it makes sense to me. That's that's kind of just how I see it, you know. Right. And so my support for Trump is not based purely upon what I've rationalized and tried to figure out, oh, I like him or what he does or, you know, whatever. Of course I do. But it's because the Lord impressed it upon me. My conviction is so solid on that, that that's the only thing I can do is go forward in faith. And one of the things, Eric, too, is that I believe that the 2020 election needs to be fixed. What does that mean to be fixed? Well, I think that it needs to be brought back to righteousness in some manner. And without Trump coming back in 2024, I don't see how that can happen. OK, I agree with that. And we will continue this conversation with Pastor Mike Thompson. The book is Third Heaven Authority. Welcome back. I'm talking to Pastor Mike Thompson. The book is Third Heaven Authority. You were just saying that you believe, as many people who are paying attention believe, that the 2020 election was stolen. I wish that weren't true. I wish I were exaggerating. The more I look at it, the more I think people are foolish to think that the Democrats wouldn't do that. They would do anything for power. Many of them are convinced Donald Trump is Hitler. And they would, you know, take him out with a bullet, stealing ballots, whatever you need to do to cripple him while he's in office, to make sure he doesn't get back in office, anything. And so, yes, I do believe genuinely that that's what happened. And if you pay any attention to what happened, I'm sorry, folks, but that's real. So you say, Pastor Mike Thompson, that God wants to make that right. And it's kind of like I think you said, like, you know, if your car is stolen, how do you resolve that? Ideally, by getting the car back to its original owner. And somehow that's what you're talking about. Right. In that analogy I made a long time ago was that if it was stolen out of your driveway, the police find a guy and they call you and say, we found him. We're going to put him in jail, but we're going to keep the car. Let him keep the car. No, no, no. It's got to come back. So, yeah, I don't know, Eric, in all honesty, exactly how it's going to play out. But I do know that God is going to bring some kind of restoration to that. That's my firm conviction. And, you know, when we talk about how it was stolen there, they said, well, you don't have proof for that. You know, it's a conglomeration of all kinds of things and from voting laws being changed to ballot harvesting to I mean, the list goes on. In my state of Nevada, they had the reports of I think it was something like two thousand dead people voted, you know, and none of them were Republicans. So the conglomeration that needs to be fixed. And so I really believe that God's doing it this cycle. Well, again, the corruption is just despicable and it's huge level of corruption. And ladies and gentlemen, that is a moral issue. If you do not care about filthy corruption in your own government, in your electoral system, that's amazing to me. That's really it's immoral to look away when you have a responsibility as an American citizen to care that every person's vote counts. And, you know, as you said, Pastor Mike, it was it was a number of things. I was in the film Two Thousand Mules. That was one way that they did that. Messing with the machines. Some people don't know that in I think it was in 2016, HBO made a documentary on how all of those machines could be hacked and it was made with Democrat talking heads. They were complaining about how all those machines could be hacked. The whole film was on HBO. Once it worked to get Trump out of office, they stopped. They stopped talking about it. And they said, if you talk about that, you know, you're crazy, whatever. But HBO made a documentary on the subject of hacking the machines to steal elections. And so there are innumerable things you touched on on a few of them. But when people say, oh, you don't talk about that, I think to myself, why shouldn't we talk about it? This is America. We have the freedom to talk about what's in front of our own eyes.

"Welcome back. We're talking to Pastor Mike Thompson. His new book is Third Heaven Authority with a forward by Eric Metaxas. And I got to tell you, Pastor Mike, it's just a joy to know you personally and to get to introduce you to my audience because you've been such a real source of encouragement to me and to Suzanne. So you were just talking about that you believe firmly that it's God's will to call this nation back to himself, that we're on the verge of victories in that sense. Now, I never care how God does what he wants to do. That's the Lord's business. But has God shared with you whether Donald Trump would return to office? Because we are in a tremendous political battle right now. We know it's all spiritual ultimately, but is that something that you can talk about? And it doesn't matter what you say. I'm just curious. I believe that, well, two things. Number one is that God's hand is still on Donald Trump. Absolutely. I am a supporter of Donald Trump. So is my wife, CK, and those that are involved in this ministry and around. To say that God said beyond a shadow of a doubt that Donald Trump will be in office at the end of 2024, etc. I don't know that I can say that specifically, that God said. But what I can say is that God wants that. Absolutely. And one of the things that the Lord told me is that it's up to the body of Christ to pray him in. And, you know, when we talk about Trump, he does have the hand of the Lord on him. Some people say, well, well, others have the hand of the Lord on him. There are the candidates that are vying for the nomination and have the hand of the Lord. Everybody has the hand of the Lord on him. If they know Jesus Christ in the capacity of God is for them and they're in the kingdom, they're going. But when the hand of the Lord comes upon a person, there's a specific anointing. That anointing can be at times for a very specific function only. And so I believe that the anointing that God has placed on Donald Trump, which he told me in April of 2016, is for the office, for that work. And so I honestly believe that, yeah, he's going to make it to the presidency, but it's got to be with the prayers and the spiritual warfare of the body of Christ. Put him in there. OK, which is another reason I hope people will get a copy of Third Heaven Authority, because, folks, we need to be involved. We need to understand how this works. We need to understand how do I pray? If you follow Mike Thompson on YouTube, you begin to get a sense of that. But we need to be a part of this. This is not something that just happens because somebody said it's going to happen. God wants us to be involved. And I say that in my own capacity with my book, Letter to the American Church. God wants us all to be involved, to be doing everything we can.

"Well, it's an amazing thing. When I was in Omaha, Nebraska with Hank Cooneman, Jean Bailey was there and he and his wife were reading your book. And I was excited about that because I thought to myself, more and more people need to understand this. And so you are hopeful about America. Oh, totally. I don't think there's anything wrong with the system. I think it's a God ordained system. Just like you said, the problem is the people that occupy. And so the enemy has influenced a lot of people who hate America or don't like America or the, or the way that it has been going. And so they want to deviate and change it. God loves the system. He loves America. And so he's bringing us to a place. I firmly believe that what's happening is we're at a point right now where there's a complete pendulum switch. It's a swing rather. And that we are swinging back to the body of Christ and good, honest people in America, taking this country back for God. That's listen, that we're going to hit pause. We'll be right back. "Folks, welcome back. I'm talking to my friend, Pastor Mike Thompson. He has a new book out. I'm excited about the book. It's called Third Heaven Authority. I want to talk to you, Mike, about, in a sense, the argument of the book, the principle of Third Heaven Authority. And I want to say, kind of reiterate what I was saying a moment ago, that there have been a number of prophetic voices with whom I'm familiar. Hank Kunneman. I was with him in Omaha, Nebraska recently. Chris Reed, whom I know. And Dutch Sheets, all of them in different ways, have said God's hand is on this country. He's not done with this country. Be of good cheer, hope, pray, work for God's purposes. Dutch Sheets, I remember about a year ago, I guess, or maybe not quite. I was I was in maybe was in September. I was in Omaha, Nebraska, and there was a conference. And he said very, very boldly about how God had years before called him to, you know, to to to pray America back. In other words, to to to to to fight for America, not to let America go. And how God had said, I need my people to pray to be a part of bringing America back. We're the body of Christ, you know, we're the family of God, but we're also what I call lion's army and the lion of the tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ. We are his army. We are spiritual warriors. I'm a warrior, you know, to the bone. That's the way that God put me together. And and so, you know, as warriors, we understand that we have the Lord with us. There's nothing impossible. There's nothing too big. That's why I don't focus on the negative that's out there. I know it. I see it. But I also know what the Lord God is doing. And so we've got to fight for America. And in the book on Third Heaven authority, that whole concept of authority, you know, we have the power of God, which is the ability to act. But we also have the authority of God, which is the right to act. We have the name of Jesus. We have the commission to go forward. We can bind and loose. We can cast out demons. We do spiritual warfare. And I think, Eric, that really is one of the premises of the book is to teach people that it's a spiritual warfare that's going on in the atmosphere that is around us. It's real. Everything that happens in the natural realm is a product of the spiritual realm. You know, the Lord began dealing with me in 2004 is when he introduced to me the concept of how that there is a ruling political spirit of Jezebel in America that's trying to take over America now translated. That actually is talking about the far left, you know, in political terms, social terms, all of that kind of stuff. But I always deal with the spiritual perspective because that's what God has me to do. That's my gifting and anointing. The body of Christ has an anointing and empowerment with the authority to do the spiritual warfare. And so I introduce people to that in the spiritual atmosphere, understanding what's going on. And that's where we have our true power and ability. I believe that the body of Christ is the greatest spiritual influence in the earth today. Yes, there's a negative side. Yes, there's the kingdom of Satan. There's the darkness. But we have the true power. And if we rise up, we can change this nation. We can take it forward into the covenant that God has built into this nation. So I just want to empower people on an individual basis because it's not just about the nation. It's about their life, their ministry, their family, the people they come in contact with. How do they just walk in that authority that God's given them? How can there be a spring in their step? How can there be an understanding and a knowledge and a confidence in who they are in God and that God's moving for them and through them? Those kind of things have a personal application to their own individual life and circumstances. And so I just want people to be raised up. Well, part of what you're talking about, because it's so fascinating to me how over the years I've met many Christians who there's something defeatist about them. Even when they're praying, they're kind of praying like, oh, Lord, like the Lord doesn't really want to do this, or I pray it in a way. But they don't pray with a kind of a joy and with an authority. And again, God is God. God is going to do his will. We only want his will to be done, but we forget who we are in him. And that's what your book, Third Heaven Authority deals with. It's like he doesn't save us so that we can be kind of hand wringing, you know, just waiting till we get to heaven. But he has given us a job to do. And it's not about buying a gun and going to war. It's about going to war in the spirit. It's about going to war in prayer and understanding that this is the joyful commission that God has given us, that we can affect eternity. We can affect history through our prayers. And of course, it's the Lord doing it, but he has deputized us. It is his will to deputize us so that we would in his name, like I come in the name of the king, we're coming in the name of the king with the authority of the king, the signet ring of the king. People say, well, that's, you know, it's like if it has Caesar's seal on it, that's got the weight of Caesar behind it. God has given us that authority. It's his will that we move in that authority. But what you write about in the book and what you've talked about for a number of years is that many Christians haven't discovered this. So there's something kind of defeatist or kind of they're hobbled in their faith. Yes. And so because of that, then they are sometimes disturbed by their inability to push through and to experience the promises of God in their own lives. And if they could just realize that who they are in the Lord Jesus Christ is that they are the righteousness of God in him, that they are new creations in. And, you know, this whole book on third heaven authority actually is premised around an encounter that I had where the Lord actually took me to heaven. I, I just found myself in this encounter, just raised up and into the throne room of God. And there's where he started talking to me about third heaven authority. He started teaching me and talking to me about who we are in the Lord Jesus Christ. And it's so important for people to understand that. I really want to encourage them. If they buy the book, it would help them a lot. But just get into the scripture, the book to the Ephesians and so forth, talk so much about who we are in him. And so we were created by God with great power and great victory.

Pastor Mike Thompson, welcome back. Oh, I'm so glad to be here, Eric. Wow. It's a great day to talk about wonderful things in the United States and about the power of the kingdom of God here. Yes. A little excitement and encouragement is not a bad thing, especially when it's not phony. And it's not phony. You're not blowing smoke. I tell people this whenever they ask about you. What initially attracted me to you and kept me listening to you on YouTube is that you are very sober-minded. When you say something positive, I know you're not putting it on. I know that it's real. It's true. I want to tell people, if they're not familiar with you, that you've just written a book, which I recommend very highly. It's called Third Heaven Authority. I want to talk about that in a few minutes. But I think so much of you and so much of the book, Third Heaven Authority, that, of course, I wrote the foreword to the book because I really want people to be familiar with you. And they can be familiar with you by reading the book because there are tons of stories in there of who you are and things you've experienced and about the concept of Third Heaven Authority. So I want to be talking about that. But you, I believe I've said it before probably a few times, that you were one of those very, very few people, in some ways the main one, who gave me hope during the darkest days after the stolen election of 2020 and all of the things that were happening. And your voice from your pulpit on your YouTube channel gave me hope because it didn't feel like you were in some kind of an echo chamber telling people what they wanted to hear or what they hoped was true. But you were really saying what you'd heard from God. Now, I'm sure there are people listening who say, heard from God? What are these people, nuts? Turns out we're not nuts. Turns out you're mistaking us with people who are nuts. This is serious. But we do take it so seriously that we understand that it would challenge some people. They say, well, that's, you know, that's a bridge too far. I'm not sure I can go there. Well, stick around or you can read Mike's book, Third Heaven Authority, because these are important things that we know that we can hear from God and we know when we hear from God and when we don't hear from God and then we don't make it up and say we did hear from God. So but you've been encouraging, Mike, very encouraging to me because you have said over and over that God is not done with this country. And he has spoken to you in various ways explicitly about that. So I want to talk about that a little bit. What why do you say that, you know, God is not done with America and that it is his will that we pray America back to God? Oh, absolutely. You know, I firmly believe that in the natural realm, so to speak, I mean, you got to understand, of course, we're human beings. We live in the natural realm, but we also live in the spiritual realm because, you know, we have a human spirit on the inside that it receives Jesus as our Lord and Savior when we accept him. Holy Spirit lives on the inside of us. That's the eternal part that when we go through physical death that goes on in to heaven to be with the Lord. So there's a natural realm and there's a spiritual realm. My point being, Eric, is that it's easy sometimes because of our training to see what the devil is doing in the natural realm to see what's going wrong. And if we just focus in on that, then of course, we're going to be discouraged. But we're also spiritual beings. And so we have the capacity to be able to see the form of the Lord, to see what God is doing, to hear it by revelation from the scripture. And, you know, the Lord, I'm one of those guys, you mentioned it, you know, very prophetic, been having those encounters all of my life, 45 years of ministry. And I just I see things, I hear things, I know things in the Spirit, and they're all encouraging when you see what the Lord is doing in the circumstances that may be ominous, that may be dark. We focus on what the Lord is doing. And that kind of faith is what brings us to the point where even I wrote the book on Third Heaven Authority, a prayer book to teach people how to see in the spiritual realm, to see the form of the Lord. And then with the spiritual authority to be able to engage in that and help God. A lot of people say, well, help God? God doesn't need any help. He does, because it is God moving through his body, his believers, those who have accepted him. Let's be clear. The Lord designed it that way. So, you know, on some level, God doesn't need help, but he chose us and created us in his image to be a part of what he wants to do. So if we don't do his will, he has given us the freedom because we're made in his image to not do his will or to do his will. He's given us that freedom. And so he exhorts us to do his will to participate with him in what he is doing. So when people act, as you just said, like, I don't need to do anything. It's like, well, that's not God's design. God's design is that he created you to do something, but he can't force you to do something. So it's an amazing privilege that we have as those made in his image and born again and filled with his Holy Spirit, that we actually get to participate in his will and in being a part of what he wants to do in history. And I think that's a big it's important that you brought that up, because a lot of people have a misunderstanding on that. You get people that are really fatalistic and they think, oh, it's all over. And they act like there's nothing they can do, even potentially, to make things move in the right direction, like it's been decided. And you and I know that that's that's not right until the Lord decides he hasn't decided. And they're acting. They're putting themselves in the role of God and saying, oh, it's done. It's got we're under judgment. It's over. And God hasn't said that. No, not at all. I believe that God's hand is still on America. You know, Jesus gathered his disciples together and he said, go into all the world and preach the gospel. He didn't say go home, make bologna sandwiches and wait for me to do it all. He said, go. And in Matthew 16, you know, where he said that I've given unto the ecclesia of the church, the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whatever they bind on earth is bound or shall have been bound in heaven. And whatever they loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. So he uses us. He flows through us and hence your book on the letter to the American church. You know, it's activate. Believers need to be activated. They are the enforcers in the earth realm of the kingdom of heaven. When I wrote the book, Letter to the American Church, I'm not prophetic, obviously, in the way that you're prophetic or or or Chris Reed or Dutch Eats or Hank Kunneman or, you know, but I do know that the Lord called me to write that and spoke through me in that in a different way than he speaks to you and to others who are gifted as prophets in the office of prophets who move in the prophetic as we as we say. But I don't believe the Lord would have called me to write Letter to the American Church unless it was his will that people would read it and be activated by it. Brought to repentance because of their inaction and say, you know what? I got it wrong. I believe God is exhorting me to to get involved, to speak out, to be part of God's solution and stop being apathetic and really selfish and doing nothing because so many lives depend on it. Pastor Mike Thompson, welcome back. Oh, I'm so glad to be here, Eric. Wow. It's a great day to talk about wonderful things in the United States and about the power of the kingdom of God here. Yes. A little excitement and encouragement is not a bad thing, especially when it's not phony. And it's not phony. You're not blowing smoke. I tell people this whenever they ask about you. attracted What initially me to you and kept me listening to you on YouTube is that you are very sober -minded. When you say something positive, I know you're not putting it on. I know that it's real. It's true. I want to tell people, if they're not familiar with you, that you've just written a book, which I recommend very highly. It's called Third Heaven Authority. I want to talk about that in a few minutes. But I think so much of you and so much of the book, Third Heaven Authority, that, of course, I wrote the foreword to the book because I really want people to be familiar with you. And they can be familiar with you by reading the book because there are tons of stories in there of who you are and things you've experienced and about the concept of Third Heaven Authority. So I want to be talking about that. But you, I believe I've said it before probably a few times, that you were one of those very, very few people, in some ways the main one, who gave me hope during the darkest days after the stolen election of 2020 and all of the things that were happening. And voice your from your pulpit on your YouTube channel gave me hope because it didn't feel like you were in some kind of an echo chamber telling people what they wanted to hear or what they hoped was true. But you were really saying what you'd heard from God. Now, I'm sure there are people listening who say, heard from God? What are these people, nuts? Turns out we're not nuts. you're Turns out mistaking us with people who are nuts. This is serious. But we do take it so seriously that we understand that it would challenge some people. They say, well, that's, you know, that's a bridge too far. I'm not sure I can go there. Well, stick around or you can read Mike's book, Third Heaven Authority, because these are important things that we know that we can hear from God and we know when we hear from God and when we don't hear from God and then we don't make it up and say we did hear from God. So but you've been encouraging, Mike, very encouraging to me because you have said over and over that God is not done with this country. And he has spoken to you in various ways explicitly about that. So I want to talk about that a little bit. What why do you say that, you know, God is not done with America and that it is his will that we pray America back to God? Oh, absolutely. You know, I firmly believe that in the natural realm, so to speak, I mean, you got to understand, of course, we're human beings. We live in the natural realm, but we also live in the spiritual realm because, you know, we have a human spirit on the inside that it receives Jesus as our Lord and Savior when we accept him. Holy Spirit lives on the inside of us. That's the eternal part that when we go through physical death that goes on in to heaven to be with the Lord. So there's a natural realm and there's a spiritual realm. My point being, Eric, is that it's easy sometimes because of our training to see what the devil is doing in the natural realm to see what's going wrong. And if we just focus in on that, then of course, we're going to be discouraged. But we're also spiritual beings. And so we have the capacity to be able to see the form of the Lord, to see what God is doing, to hear it by revelation from the scripture. And, you know, the Lord, I'm one of those guys, you mentioned it, you know, very prophetic, been having those encounters all of my life, 45 years of ministry. And I just I see things, I hear things, I know things in the Spirit, and they're all encouraging when you see what the Lord is doing in the circumstances that may be ominous, that may be dark. We focus on what the Lord is doing. "Got a lot to talk about today. The Lakers coming off a win against the Golden State Warriors. So we get to actually talk about some positive things for a change. We've got a few other topics to get into that might get a little negative to some stuff about Russell Westbrook that we need to talk about as well. Joining me today might go buddy ESPN's Alan sliwa, Alan. Thanks so much for coming on. Trev, what is going on, man? Long time no talk. Appreciate you having me on looking forward to chat some Lakers off of wind. Are we supposed to win? I forgot doing postgame shows where there's wins. I was so surprised. I did our Lakers nation postgame show and I was like, I don't even know how to approach I'm used to just most of our postgame shows have become like group therapy sessions where we're bemoaning the Lakers laws and we're talking about how we're managing it and all that kind of stuff. And they won and we got to celebrate a victory, which was great. But I'll tell you what. Before we even get into Lakers warriors, something was sent to me, I think it was either yesterday or day before, that was kind of funny. They blamed the Lakers season on the two of us. And me and said the reason why the Lakers season has not gone according to plan, it's because you and I still have not played one on one basketball. I agree with them. I agree with them. You know, I think if there's one thing that this team needs, it needs you and I way past our prime to try to play some basketball and probably get if we're going up to 11, I think by the time the score is three three, I need a timeout, a breather. I might have to finish the game the next day. It's not good, Trevor. If we're ever gonna do it, we're gonna have to do it too, because I'm starting to feel it. I'm definitely slowing down. What was probably what three or four years ago when we first started talking about this at this point, I had a little bit more spring in my step back then and I had to now, I am definitely on the downside of my career there. But in any event, the Lakers, they beat the warriors, LeBron James, 37 years old, goes for 56 points, maybe it's a one off. Maybe it's just a one night thing, but didn't that just feel nice to get to talk about a Lakers win and not not be down in the dumps about the Lakers losing again? Trev, not only did it feel good, I could tell you the place was rocking. You know, it's a for a season that you've had really the emotions of only been one side. You know, there's a lot of news what was it last week when they got blown out by the pelicans about the crowd booing at the players and booing at the Lakers team. You had the loss at crypto dot com read against the clippers where Reggie Jackson is kind of kind of show bolt on the entire time. That's how the season has gone. So when you say, doesn't it just feel good to get away? And it also feels good to be at the arena and the place feels like it feels like you thought it was going to feel like all season before the season started. So it is just one game. You're right. It only counts as one game, but I think for how bad the season has gone, you started off own force since the all star break. It was nice for a lot of Laker fans. The probably enjoy their Saturday night, enjoy their Sunday. And yes, there's another game coming up on Monday, but for a quick second there, you could kick back, you can just enjoy and appreciate a way that in the process, Braun dropping 50 plus. And I think that's part of it too, right? It's LeBron going from 56 points. So if you're there in the arena, it's not just, hey, the Lakers are beating one of the better teams in the Western Conference. It's that plus we're saying something special out of LeBron James and 37 years old. I just talked about how I feel like I'm already slowing down here. What are we expecting out of LeBron at this point? I mean, I don't think they're winning a championship this year. What is LeBron have left in the tank moving forward for the Lakers to build around? I mean, it feels like every year we're talking about is this the year that he finally starts to decline and then here he is. I've been saying all season if the Lakers were like the two seed right now, we'd be talking about MVP campaign. 37 years old drops 56 points. This is unreal. So I think I've kind of gone to this point of the conversation about while the bronze is going to slow down LeBron's going to slow down. You can only look stupid so many times before you start saying to yourself, you know what, maybe I should just stop saying that. Here's the reality, trev. You know, he's talked about this in postgame shows. He talked about how he takes care of his body. Yesterday was actually, it's a perfect example. Doing the pregame show of Michael Thompson. And Michael Thompson, we were talking about Andre Iguodala, godala was out there warming up. And Iguodala's played very sparingly all season long, and we were kind of like, well, are they just going to save him for the playoffs? And I said, yeah, they probably should. And Michael goes, well, they're not saving LeBron for the classical bronze plane every night. There's a year difference between Andre Iguodala and LeBron James. And just think about how idol at his age is being used compared to what LeBron James does on a night at night out basis. I don't know why for me, that's just stuck with me. It was like, yeah, Michael is right. Like, just think about that. Iguodala is being used a certain way. LeBron's dropping 40 minutes a game or 35 minutes or putting in 56 points like you mentioned. So I think it's wise to not question anymore, well, how long can LeBron do this? I think it's probably better to just kind of kick back, relax and enjoy what LBJ is doing. Unfortunately, for the Lakers, it has it. It hasn't stacked up in a lot of wins. But yesterday was, it was a very unique performance to drop 56, but he's been dropping almost 30 a game on average. It really is incredible. He's talked about how much he credits sleep and all of that, of course, all of that for his longevity here. But in terms of the scoring, the thing that I keep coming back to, and I mentioned this a few times in the last few weeks, is that LeBron is actually getting fouled or getting foul calls at a lower rate than he has historically gotten Val calls. And it's not just, oh my gosh, he's shooting more threes. He's actually attacking the basket more than just about anybody in the NBA last I looked and this was about a week or so ago. He was second in the NBA in shots at the rim and was not far behind and the number one was Yanis taco. So LeBron is still attacking the basket. He's just not getting a lot of calls there. And that's been a source of frustration for him. This season, but when you look at the stats, if you were to somehow give LeBron just his average free throw attempts that he's gotten over the course of his career, give him that this season, he's leading the NBA in scoring, or another way to look at it is if you just take out free throws, LeBron James is leading the NBA in scoring. He's 37 years old. This is unreal and the only reason why I continue on this topic is I want to make sure Lakers fans, we got to have to take a moment and appreciate what LeBron is doing right now because this is, this is not the norm for a guy who's 37 years old to be able to do the things that he's doing. So this is the best comp that I could give. And we just saw this, you know, obviously this past season. Tom Brady was doing things at his age that is just, you can't describe it, you can't explain it. And Tom Brady decided, you know, obviously to retire one day that's going to happen when LeBron James. And I know it's, you know, I think the wrong things always unique with Laker fans because I get this a lot and you do as well. Colby played 20 years in the league. Magic never rocked another Jersey. I think there's a lot of times Laker fans have this affinity for their guy or, hey, this is a guy that's been a Laker his entire career. Put all that to the side just for a second. He played for the Cavs many years, won them a championship. Did what he did in Miami and he's got a chip with a Los Angeles Lakers. Just what he's accomplishing going out there on the night at night off basis, just.

And of all the defensive assignments that we had, you know, you had strategies for different people what birds gonna do, but you were probably the most difficult one to guard because Kareem was okay defensive player, but we knew that you could get your shot off on him. So our main focus was to contain you Robert. It really was through all our children. Everyone kept getting velveteen. You got a huge opportunity, Kevin. That magic came down on you quick, and you knew the main focus of us because we knew he said, you know what? If we can keep Robert's points down a little bit, maybe that might help us because you kind of figure that we know you could get yours one on one, but you knew Larry and then Larry's a good passer. If he got doubled, he's gonna pass it right but you had that turnaround high high shot that nobody could affect. So we knew we had to get you before you got into the motion. Yeah, you were one of our nemesis. You were that kind of guy that was off to the side, but we always paid attention to you. For the record, I noticed it too. Almost every time I touched the ball and I got doubled. Quickly, Robert 85 comes. We come back in 86. He used to go out and get the twin towers and that just was a debacle year for us because we just had all kind of problems. So they ended up with that Ralph Sampson throwing the ball over his head. Why is Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer ignoring our calls to release Michael Thompson from prison?
"Twenty six years ago with Bill Clinton still in his first term as President Michael Thompson. I need you understand this. Who was forty two years old at the time? He wasn't a cave. Not that being in prison for twenty six years when you're a kid is any different but Michael Thompson was forty two years ago and sold some weed to an old friend. It was a harmless transaction. That's it that's the crime Michael Thompson committed accept. It turned out that his old friend had become a police informant in police. Were using Michael's old friend to set up anybody and everybody they could. Michael of course had no idea that his friend was working for. The police sold the we to his friend and got arrested. This exchange of we'd of marijuana from money. It didn't take place in Michael's home but police used the moment as an excuse to later raid. Michael's home and when they did so again. This is all the way back in Nineteen ninety-four. They found an antique gun in a safe along with a handgun that belonged to his wife. Mind you Michael. Didn't have these guns on him when he sold the weed. He wasn't even at the house when he sold it. So you can't say. He committed a drug crime with a firearm but police and prosecutors packaged the weed. And the guns together like they were one big crime and ultimately sentenced. Michael to forty to sixty years in prison which is basically a life sentence for a forty two year old man and they never looked back. That was twenty six years ago. Now the sentence for having unregistered guns in your home would have been one to two years at most some people get probation for such a thing. It's a victimless crime. Michael didn't use the guns in a crime. They guns were just in his home. You get one to two years for that. The sentence for selling the weed typically would have been a few years. Marijuana is now legal in Michigan a harsh sentence for Michael Thompson selling we to his friends and then later under very suspicious circumstances getting arrested or getting charged with guns in the home the the warrant in that case is very suspect but a harsh sentence from Michael in that case would have been four to five years. Ten years would have been excessive. Fifteen years would have been extreme. Twenty years would have been outrageous. We're now at twenty six years. This is a human rights violation. I speak to Michael on the phone regularly. And He's struggling. He's a senior citizen and prison ages. You in dog years a year in prison with horrible sleep on a cheap mattress with the worst food in the country. Entire meal sometimes cost less than a dollar per person to make and being under in living under the constant threat of violence with the worst healthcare imaginable. A single year in prison is hard time. Michael is twenty six years. He has underlying several underlying health conditions including diabetes and respiratory problems. That now put him at grave risk with the threat of the corona virus sweeping across America's jails and prisons and one person cassette. Michael Free. Right now no questions asked.
