"This podcast and good things will come from it but Anybody got questions out there for me. in regards to the nfl or anything Let's see who we got on here. Let's go to some questions i think. Michael jackson great advice pamela. You had a question for michael 'bout Hey jason how you doing buddy. You wanna come on jason. Help me out here. Of course we getting from champion jason on here from super Jason what did you think how. How do you think it went today. First of all. I think you're consummate professional. And i think it went very smoothly as somebody who hosts shows here on super. I'm learning a lot. And i've been taking notes as well I think michael is a fascinating guy. I think he's a brilliant guy and honestly Probably one of the nicest people you have started your time on super with. I think it was a heck of a bar to set. It's great yeah no it was. He was wonderful What a personality you know. And and i knew he had to go but yeah everything was he just kept talking. It's not like i was making them stay. No know when you have two people that love to talk a lot. Sometimes he showed me on forever. Yeah right yeah. So there's run believe he asked. What's the best part of living in pennsylvania. Now jason. You your from dc true. I'm from pittsburgh. Living pennsylvania to me. Is i love the four seasons right. I love the cooler weather. Sometimes we get a nice and hot. But i love the change in pittsburgh growing up and one of my favorite things ever a lot of places have friday night lights but i think western pennsylvania always had the best i mean. I've spent some time in pittsburgh. I do love western pennsylvania. I mean any place where i can go to You know a dramatic brothers can go. And i can get a the others brothers. You think like some of on your sandwich might like this is my first rodeo. I know good sandwiches. And i know where to go to get good sandwiches and pittsburgh But truthfully. I think i'm with you. I do love that about the mid atlantic and general mean certainly in dc. We had you know forces. Well i think the one downside though is that You know i mean. Don't get me wrong. You know pittsburgh's a fine town but the football team there. And just just herff average. I would say i hope we don't have any steelers nation on here. They're they're gonna come after you. You know what. I welcomed the opportunity. I mean it's not as bad as philadelphia. Let's be clear. But you know when i probably would agree with you on that one. I mean you know in a in a fight between washington and new york who loses the the answer is philly But no i think i think You know i. I loved him since. I'm here to ask you a quick question. You've done this. You've interviewed all sorts of folks. Both you know. Sort of a minor niche folks from the nfl. All the way to guys like michael or even some of my favourite washington votes like michael. Michael wilbon i just love to ask. Who's been your favorite interview. So far man. I have had so many incredible people that people that He was on one of them was was just the other day. I interviewed matthew lawrence. I don't know if you remember matthew from Sorry matthew for but he's he was a dad on nine. Oh two one. oh yeah. He was eddie anna cruisers. He was the guitar player. And it's just sometimes when you get on here and you connect with people and people that you've never met before like i know michael but i don't know no michael you. Sometimes you just connect with people every one of my guests. Maybe except for two or three. I've connected with them all and we have such a good conversation. And i think what michael said is so true. Yeah if you're just who you are even when you do a podcast and you don't try to fake or false. It always comes through. And that's who i really try to be when i interview. I guess but. I mean i've had some credit. My one of my favorites was when i head coach ditka on such a great interview so i had mike dick on. We're interviewing them. And you know i'd ask him questions and he'd go well i don't know then all of a sudden you'd hear his wife in the background say that was You know so and so from baghdad. Right so she was like you were interviewing the wrong person. Yeah she probably members more than coach but I had some incredible People on and it's so much fun to interview them and get to know them. Well i'm gonna. I want to step away from moment. And give you space to be able to bring other people on but i do wanna call out rich daniel. In the chat is asking about a describing. Rfk stadium and i. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it as a player there because as a fan. I not only went to go. See you play there. But also i went to concerts in anybody from the dc area. Went to the festival there every year. And like i have now. I go i used to go to. Dc united play their and it. It's it's still feels that kind of like defining monument to sort of old d sports in a lot of ways. You know it really was it. And michael hit the nail on the head like i know my man. Rich rich rich was up. He was a film guy with rennie. Not used to come in and they you know he would be the guy behind the camera all the time. And and he actually. I collect old vintage baseball cards so rich so his whole collection one time and i got so many committees out of it that i was so excited right. It was awesome. So thank you it but going back to the rfk thing. Mike it was right when you would come out even before the gain the fans were so close and there was so much. I'm trying to think of the word because you know you. You had the jets. Were there yet band there And the energy of the stadium was incredible because they were right on top of you and then when you would be beating the cowboys right the bleachers. Which ever happened nearly often enough right. The bleachers would just like to fans would be going crazy the belief and then monte coleman would stand up on the bench and each swing a towel and it was just everything and i never. Even though i played in a lot of stadiums. I never felt that same energy again. I get it. I mean as a as a resident you know. I mean fedex. Field is a beautiful field. I've gone to lots of great games there. But it's not it's not the same and there's something obviously it's probably structurally not the safest place to be anymore and i'm sure when you play there probably wasn't that way i feel is not my favorite place for many reasons right but We yeah we can't imagine. Tell anybody of that. Because they probably know the whole story but The other my other favorite thing about rfk was. I was playing there. And i don't know why but i got to know the people at rfk. They gave me a parking spot underneath the stadium when my daughter abby was little. Yeah pull up into the stadium and we park and sunny johnson and sam huff were always right there because they called the games yup and sam huff would always come over and pull abby out of her carseat and walk around and take her and my wife up to the elevator where they would go up to their seats and i would go into the locker room for whatever and then i'd go out and see sunny like those things to me like just were amazing and it makes me sad that i don't get to do that anymore but what inexperience with those people. I love it. I wish i wish that we had more stories like that from modern stadiums but it sounds to me like you had pretty good pretty good experiences there and and that's gotta count for something i love. Did you see what paul mccoy said he said. I remem. I remind her of jay leno. Well i'm not funny at all so you both have strong chins. I think that's minds big growing over the years. That's a good thing you're a bad thing and it just might be a thing. Don't listen i'm i'm. I'm in my late thirties. I'm certain find grey hairs everywhere. You and i are going to be identical twins in about five minutes graduate from college and yet in through that. That's where all these culture i mean. I didn't think that that those checks alone them. I'm starting to grow Well i'm going to get out of your way. Listen thanks for you know. That was a great chat with michael. I know i speak for everybody in the audience when i say that that we hope that there's more of that to come and you know great job hosting i'm gonna let you chat.

"Heavy kid. So that are bought the herschel walker workout book and i bought the jane fonda. Vhs tapes anyway back then. And i do all that stuff during commercial breaks of Of tv show. My dad saw that and started working out with me when i was thirteen. And for the next three and a half years. We went to the gym almost every single day in worked out together. so how. How often did you check your bob. Oh man i still check for modern. Come back but it wouldn't be interesting because that was such aid. I think because of that. My dad saw my work ethic he saw. I didn't like something. I was willing to work for you to make it something that i wanted that. That's why he trusted me to go to the states get a scholarship but it also taught me. If you don't like something in your life you have the opportunity to change it. it's up to you. it's not to someone else to change it for you. We all wish that things could be given to at that time. And but for the most part you have to earn the opportunity or take advantage of the opportunity when there and it hasn't always been the i i've had so many knows and so many rejections and and the football stuff. I wanted to quit in college. And my dad. On the reason i went back. And he basically said you're not coming home. You better figure it out. Any me realize i had to get a job and continue to take care of me. Day became so. I worked hard and everything that i've ever done and to go from football. What i do now was. It's such a different business. Such a complete different mindset to to leave even to do fox was scary. And i knew i had a job when i retired. I was still scared. I feel mentally because my identity might identify myself as a football player. Not a guy who necessarily talks about is not the things feel but being set now with those guys for fourteen years. It's like this is a coastal locker room. I'm gonna get. But i'm amazing locker room. Yeah and i'm very happy with it because a bunch of guys are just want best for everybody in the best for the show and we laugh and we get to watch the game that we all loved the place and you guys get the you know you got terry there. I mean it's gonna you're probably gonna laugh all day long with him one. You know you laugh more with guys. We all laugh more when the cameras often. We don't on the air and the greatest again we don't know what does but a say. So i'm gonna know when terry's going to start telling the joke about cows or something we don't know me. That's like the long bracelet. I'll see what our locker rooms were like. They were the best the memories himself so good. But i love what i do. You're you're great at this. By the way i mean so great either to talk to you smooth like you had other gifts. We all have other gifts. You just have to not be afraid to try to tap into those. Yeah and like i said. Don't be afraid you're going to be told. No because before i did live with kelly i would go on On ellen degeneres this show. Yeah and and so. I i went to ellen. I did quite a few times. And they actually. The production company came to me. And said we would like to give you work with you to get to produce your own show. Yeah and i was really really like. Yeah we want to incubate you on ellen. Put you on ellen all these times let let the audience get to know you and then we bring you in one seat now. We need you to go out and kinda put it together. Find a co host on when you think in five with shot put out feelers. Man reached out the sole many people in the amount of nose or the amount of non responses. Isn't it. that's wow. And when. I got that. When i took over reduce. I never thought i'd get that job. That's why i was on that show. And i just was acting carefree. 'cause like i can't lose a job that i'm not gonna get right then once. I got the job. I realized being yourself on. Tv is what people wanna see artists for most people to do so Getting getting that job completely whether a life changing experience because it took me out of the the mindset of for people as football and put me into a more of a mindset where you recognized across all genre than all everybody moms dads grandmothers grandfathers sons daughters which was totally a trip. When you're going down the street and the same guy that used to like yell at you go giants go. You did this with the giants. Also awesome to on the same dues talking about cooking segments and and and like a story that you did on on on gm or on something you like. Wow this is a complete transformation which may not coming back. Hey do you remember that time. You hit gusts in ninety six at. Rfk don't ask you that anymore. Day right there about the right. Gm may one day hundred thousand dollars pyramid. Yeah hey i know. I know you got another gig to go to an odd man. I'm sorry we couldn't get all the questions michael had to go. But hey there's a lot of questions out there and i'm here if you wanna ask them questions we can go through them Love to answer your questions. We've had some incredible people watching everybody on. You know if you wanna talk. Nfl whatever you wanna talk about you know michael. What an incredible guest. I literally was. I mean i have terrible handwriting. But i was trying to write down everything that he does you know and i. It's just amazing. That michael has transitioned into this credible incredible entrepreneur and has taken everything like. He said he was so good at his job. And it led him to so many other things. And you can't be afraid to step into it. I know i've been afraid to try to transition into certain things and you just gotta go and do it. Just like when i started.

"So i started to take chances. I did think that we're kind of out of the ordinary unusual. Stop being afraid to fail and it was like okay if it works it works. If it doesn't it doesn't it's a learning experience and once. I kind of got over that and started doing that without without the fear of of of failure getting rejected. If i asked to do something and got to know things just kind of opened up. Yeah opened up and you know that that valid my advice. I think the guys don't don't just kind of put yourself in a in a trap. Don't put yourself in a in a hole in thinking. What you do is the only thing that you can do when you're done playing football. There's so much time in your life left god willing. Don't be afraid to try the thing. You be add more than just one. Profession and i love that you do so much i mean you're on. Gma their stories about you. You do nfl on fox but you also give back to the communities of bert. I think you say as little here you know. He's asking about the mental health with the vets and athlete communities. And you do such a good job. I think it's called merging vets and players. You're part of the nba players. Yeah and you do such a good job talks a little bit about how you've had so much success in your life and how you. I think it's just part of athletes that we love to give back to our communities and you do such a good job of that. Well i think when you're an athlete it kind of big you go these communities and in order to put your make yourself a part of them you have to give back. I think team do a great job of making you aware of the needs of the community. And i think we all want to be a part of it and merging veteran players was created by my best friend. Jay glazer who now works at fox. Yeah and his kitchen table he basically wrote it out on a napkin and he made it happen. And i'm so proud of him for that so i've always been there to support them. My dad's vet. What the yeah so i mean. How did i'm around military my entire life so to make sure that they have everything that they need or as much as you can be there to support them. I want to be there and j. Put it the best way we all. As football players as athletes as in military also also used to teams in in our teams and everything become our family but when the game is over when you get out of the military health it's over if you lose your family it feels like yeah. We're lonely and you need support in. That's what merging veteran players. Does that give you that support. You need that. You always have a team. You'll always have like minded people who their support you and listen to you. And the first meeting. I went to you know. Jay started this. Jim unbreakable and ally and they did intimate based group training workouts. And what they would do they would work out for half an hour or so and then they would sit in a circle all the vets and they would just talk in somebody would open up and talk about their experience and they were vets. Who would sit there and wouldn't talk for months a year and then one day just opened up and you talked about tears tears man because they have been through the wringer athletes in tears. Because they're a part of this of course to his special. it really is a special programs. I'm proud creighton. And i'm proud of these guys would be so welcoming layout i mean i. Yeah i get it. Because my dad was in the korean war he would never talk to it and talk to me about it unless he got drunk. I've seen two times in his life and that was the only time he would tell me. Stories being over there kazeem. They just didn't want to talk to. My wife's grandfather was in world war. Two he was in pearl harbor ever wanted to talk to it until my daughter got him on camera and ask them questions are so we talk about our dads right and i know how good of a dad you are because i've read all the stories about how you're flying all over the place but you take so much time to be with your kids so tell me a little bit about that. I love it man like you know about priority they guess. I love the smile. Like soon as i mentioned your kids. You it's about priorities and four kids. And i still have two of two out of school and working and i have my my twins who are juniors in high school and the absolute opportunity that every day to do something and yesterday assume you know some big dinners and business things. And then there's another dinner with some friends at this cool new spot manhattan and i said now. I'm good and i was sitting in the bleachers watching volleyball game demos uncomfortable bleachers other words those wooden winds like sit there and watch my daughter. my girls play volleyball Was really something and one didn't play yesterday's. She came watched her sister because they're separate schools but it was like man. It's like the biggest thrill. Because i'm literally going. Oh my goodness. I can see what my parents felt like me to watch herk compete and i think there are so many lesson that a learned with you're competing and especially with the team atmosphere so absolutely love is about priorities. It's about you know spending time with them as much as i can because at one point there shoe year. They're in college. They're out of the house. I'm lonely laugh. Move into to copy rodney dangerfield and go back to school. It'd be replicated pittsburgh. We'll golf but i'm the same way my kids just my last. My youngest just graduated from delaware. And it's such a treat. Actually the boys are home because we're both looking for jobs right cove. It was really. The pandemic was really hard for him. gave did an internship at the hall of fame this summer which was amazing probably. They're he probably was standing right behind you which was serious but i want you to. Can you express to our fans and everybody. Who's listening kinda like put it into words of how this success that you've had it wasn't easy like the struggle that you went through your whole life to make this the person who you are. Because i've read so many stories about you in the mental health and the things you do it. I'm so proud of you. Because i've gone through mental health stuff since i would plan. You had them when you were in high school and it you've just pushed yourself through all this and in please tell her fans a little bit about what it takes. Just to have that grit. Well i think gusto natural. I'm i'm the focus of on. Espn plus more than a athlete season. Two last year season on the braun this year. They follow me around. And the reason i wanted to do that it because i wanted to show people that it all weather smooth that it's just showed up and he the football player. Oh man i think he's on. Tv just all happened but it didn't happen that way. I was a kid in germany. The only reason. I got into football. Because when i was thirteen i would i my brother. My brothers in their friends called me. Bob was yeah. The nickname right. Bob and i'm the youngest of six kids for boy. Then i'm like. Oh wow i got a nickname brothers. And their friends. It'd be the cool part of the group until one of them told me that bob booty on beck.

"Do primary job right now at twenty something year though Whatever it may be is to. Is that your professional football player. Professional athletes don't get distracted by the other trapping. There are other things that come around where you think you want to own this company and be this rap star on that record label in on this business. Those things are distractions and you have to focus on what's important. What really helps you earn a living if you can be a great football player. Great athlete opened up so many other doors in every other avenue. What you wanna do in learn. Use those use the app user. The a the fact that you aren't at professional athlete to get yourself into rooms now once you get in that room. You need to prove that you can stay in that room. Yeah it'd be starting understand. Why are you in that room. And what that businesses. If there's something that you're interested in don't be afraid to intern. Don't be afraid to be humble in understand that in every business everybody starts at the bottom. You didn't grow up and just like come out of the wound. A great football player not gonna go into every other business be great so i was a focus on your primary job as an athlete. And once you have that down then you can start to do some things in dabble in and take some more energy along. Don't take too much away or enough away. Defect your game and put into other things and also learned to. Everybody has great ideas as long as it comes out of your checkbook. Save you money. Go somewhere and learn off somebody else's dime so if you ever want to start a business of your own then you you've learned of somebody else's financial entrepreneurship is tough isn't it. It's very tough. And i'm done it and i do it. Nigga has been very tough. Everything does not work. Thanks fail You gotta know win. Let go sometimes. But i think the biggest thing is you have to understand your strengths weaknesses. Who you can work with. You can't work with you have to understand how to build a team. 'cause teams are so important outside of the game of football at the thing that i learned to multiple football that carry over to business is building a great team and having great people around you and Makes makes your work a lot. Easier merchant makes your life a lot easier. Yeah all right. Hey i got a question so you travel so much you said you're on a plane gun or wants to know. Do you ever have time to golf. Oh yeah come on her. I'm playing golf. I am on the plane tomorrow. Night after work and i will get off that plane and go straight to the golf course. I usually don't play on fridays. But i have some buddies wanna play california. Fridays play on friday. Then i will again play on saturday. And then i will work all day. Sunday fly back to new york. And i will play on monday and then i'll work all. We can do it all over again so absolutely man. Golf is my. That's my thing. All right so i want to. I want to transition into a play that you and i were part of right and i want to know if you hit your driver as hard as you hit me so this video right here It's pretty tough. you're on the end. All joepat gets burnt. All he picks the ball up. Like me up you in the almost joepat and picked it up. Oh my gosh down for tenure goes. I'm sorry i had to talk to you i. I'm sorry here though. Mm okay. I remember that play like yesterday. I remember my mindset like yesterday. That was like that was my league. I was young. i was a strong bull. A little young bore right. I didn't understand the mechanics of not the mechanic but how to set up a game plan to pass for us. That's what i was learning to like. Show a guy something and like sleight of hand. Let make them look. Like i'm gonna do this and then do that komo game. I've been giving him a bowl rushing around the outside edge. And then i said i had him set up. Why you gotta score. That was a two point play. Burn and i. And i were actually. I was surprised when i said oh my god my plan work. I've been playing that. Let me give him something different at work and home the ball but found is holding the bottom. Hold it just hold it. don't let it go. Almost people may think. I'm very very primal. But being out there on the football fields it is kind of survival the fittest and it's like i looked at it at me on on every play like i couldn't think about the game every single play. I have to beat you. it's mere you. We're gonna watch film tomorrow. I'm going to get a plus or minus. i want a lot more pluses and minuses. And i'm runnin. You crime lead was. I'll never forget. I am thinking you're just standing there man looking so pretty sweet and i might accord your helmet. I want to hit you so hard in your spine that it comes out the front of your chest well to think like that. That's what i was thinking I believe so. I show my sons right dash. Show him this video when they were younger but i show them the video and you know what they said. They said dad. Why don't you hold on the ball so long. So they're like on your side i can. What is going on here right. Smart kid you gotta have that internal clock. Yeah yeah well that one point five second internal clock hardest. I've ever hit anybody my entire career. I've been asked and i said gus rot. Washington nineteen ninety-five the hardest hit. I've ever hit anybody earth k. I i think the bleachers were bouncing. After that the ground author leeches were bouncing ban. Put the thing is like i love. That stadium was beat up. And i know you've got to go with you. Dugout love the grass. I loved the proximity of the fan to you on the band with a special place man and i go to these new state and even even the giants met my not giant stadium right. And it's a little bit of the grant giant stadium. They used to open those big doors in the end zone off when we had the ball win win would be going crazy and it got so cold and then our defense will go out and close. The doors unites more. They were smart so tell me about. Now we've gone over a lot of this. Your your career was amazing. And now you have this second career. That's that's really hard for a lot of players to do but we see it more and more today with players and you you're right out there in front so tell me what advice you would give us as former athletes or anyone. How do you transition into something that you found what you love to do. And you're really really good at it. I mean and it's not. It wasn't what you did before it was completely now. One eighty was a lot of failure though a lot of failure along the way a lot of knows along the way a lot of a lot of that stuff that people don't see and i i think for me. I had to get over the fact that i only saw myself as an athlete. Yeah truly and when they say more than an athlete at that is really a true mindset because at first i was literally like oh man. I'm a football player. everybody's gonna see me at the football player. No one really gives football player that much respect outside of the football field when it comes to business or any sports but i had to get over my myself.

"michael strahan" Discussed on Huddle Up with Gus

"Like in college. I with a nice mild manner guide. Why that's out of your edged in. Come out yet My edge didn't come out yet on the football field. I was a hustling running guy technique. Y i did not have much what i was just going to run and run and run into the tackle eventually fell over a gave me or just like to to block me average. What i was gonna do in the pros. A lot of my game was built on on. i used to think about mike tyson. The fighter like what made mike tyson. The most feared fighter in the league world that mike tyson would just keep pressure on you once. He came out the pressure just unbearable. He was always in your face. Yeah and other pass rusher. That was my thing. Just boo boo us. That keep the pressure on you until eventually you're going to be good to give up. Something was that older. I learned how to you know kind of have more game plan when it came to pass rush. Yeah was that a little bit of your dad right. 'cause like when i would get hit my dad was always in the back of my head said get up right and for you thinking about. Your dad was in the military. How he worked out how he did all those things to me. It's like don't we don't quit right. And that was that part of it for you well. It was weird because my dad was more of the working out part in being tired like we don't quit. Yeah i got hit on the field. And i felt it and i was like ooh that hurt. That get up was more. My mom mom would be like that grabbed. Nobody told you to go play. You wouldn't play it on your own. So you know my my not a joke when it came to that like she wasn't one mom out there and push everybody baby. You told me. I hear you suck and so but as far as out there working and running and when it got tough i definitely thought about my dad when it was like injured and i really just can't have the cart come out here and pick me up off the field. That was my mom. Yeah okay. I understand that. So you're texas southern. It's on a huge school it's kind of like tulsa. I go to dc. You went to new york in ninety three. How big of a of a like a shock was that for you because you're on a giants and there's some incredible players there it's in the media capital of the world right and so there's all these new things for you. What was that like for you. Well come to new york. And i when i went to germany the houston to go to college. I in high school that senior high school in college. I love houston. I thought houston was the fastest city in the world. It just wasn right. So what's going on here. Until i came to new york first day here. I said i will never live in the city. I will never driving the city. I don't know why they picked me to come to the city because this place is crazy and then i ended up in Is at the stadium. And i'll never forget. Lawrence taylor walked into that locker room. And i remember him just floating in there. He was like a god to me when it came to the game of football. Oh man much glide budget crazy dog and have some fun. Like i watched everything that lawrence taylor did so it was the it was unbelievable to be on the team with him. And then be scout team right on the opposite side of him running the plays or the walk-throughs like i'm the office player yet the play against and it really gave me a greater appreciation. For how hard you have to work in football. I always looked at lt. Just raw talent Guy was just incredible football player. Once i got closer gotta look under the hood. I could see that. This is a guy who understood the game in practice. And i said he practiced every day. Maybe so day but when he practices every time he's on that field he was one hundred percent all out. Yeah play scout team where he was not or in the drill where he was not all out and scout team. He was sometimes tell the young got. I wanna do scout team. I wanna mimic the offense other defense for our team to get better and he would go all out there. And i just learned from that like we'll get that's harder you practice is what you're going to get out of yourself in the game if you practice if you cheat yourself in the weight room you cheat yourself with with with the running. And all these other sprints in trying to get in shape. You won't be paired on sunday to be successful. You can mediocre. You can pass but at the player. But you won't pass. The great player is right right. Yeah that makes a difference. I learned that from darryl green my my rookie year. When i'm doing scouting and i'm throwing the ball or the coaches circle right. They circle spot for the defense because they want it to look good and darryl goes what are you doing. I said i'm thrown to the guy. They tell me to go now. He goes no. You're not making me any better. You're not making you any better. Throw where you're supposed to it. And so i did that. The coaches defense coach yelled at me. Darryl said leave him alone and that was it. I was like okay. I'm gonna do what i do you know. And that's why green is like you in a hall of famer darryl green with the mazing man and derek still run a four to forty a mantra candidates. Fast fast i'll never forget him running down the dickerson door or somebody who this guy. But i found that that that you know all great player than a guy like yourself you last so many years in a league. You don't do that by mistake. it's not by mistake. it's not they don't give you a job because they They feel sorry for you. They don't give you a job because you're just good enough. They made because you can really contribute help. And it takes a lot of work to get into the nfl Takes a hell of a lot of work to stay in the nfl. And you know. I think the can i can answer the aso. I was gonna ask you so jan jan garrett has a question for you she says what advice would michael give young. Nfl players to help them ensure success in the league and also be successful beyond the game. I think that's a perfect question. Michael i agree jen. Great question thank you. I think that for me always focused on your primary job.

Morgan Wallen Speaks on Using Racial Slur in 'GMA' Interview

"And a lot of people thought maybe it would be the end of things for the country music star Morgan Wallen. But despite the fact that he was recorded on a doorbell camera, I think or some sort of camera. Saying the N word after a bender. I knew a part of you kind of wonders a little bit like how much of that was to just stick it to everybody else that wanted to cancel them. Four saying the n word on that. But he did. He did get pulled off of all the radio stations for at least a while, I think And what I'm saying all I mean, they're probably some that just did their own thing. But I recall the radio stations kind of banding together and saying we're going to halt playing Morgan Wallen music. And then everybody goes over to iTunes has suffered his songs, Rocket up the charts, and so now he's finally even went to rehab at one point, But now he's finally breaking his silence on this, and he sat down with Michael Strahan. "To do that. Excellent sarah do you see the point. That mush was making. Yeah actually do see the point. She was making. I think the flag has been somewhat co opted mainly during this this former trump era kind of like the masks it became like a rallying cry of spotting people in a crowd but when i think of the flag i think of you know growing up and seeing all the the military displays of it as as megan mention when they put it over a casket that reverence and honor you feel for the ultimate sacrifice the fact that we lower and do to key leaders and important people that have left their mark here in this country and i love i love it. I love it on fourth of july. And i refused to let people take that away that power away because anyone who has a family knows where the most critical of the things we love the most so i often think that when people on the left or democrats are critical of it. Some people misinterpret that to mean that we must not be patriotic. And i believe that this flag can come back to what it always has been flying high. But i also think of the olympics and how proud you feel when someone wins and you hear the national anthem and so i do. I do understand what she was saying. 'cause i think it has become politicized but i also believe that we can gang that back as fast as it was taken away and let it fly high as a work in progress. All the work. How far we've come. How far we have to go. And that. We're all here and i agree. It's the best place on earth. I wouldn't be anywhere else. So i have a legal note. The new york times has stated that mara gays comments on msnbc have been irresponsibly taken out of context. Her argument was that trump in many of his supporters have politicized the american flag. The attacks on her. Ill informed and grounded in bad faith. And i just if i may add one thing i think that James baldwin said it best when he said that i love america more than any other country in the world and exactly for that reason. I insist on the right to criticize her. Perpetually well that's the. That's the point. I was going to make. Everybody has the right to their opinion. And this is marsha opinion and no one has the right to say. That's not right because you don't like it when we say. Hey don't criticize. Because i feel the flag is strong enough to take me kneeling and saying this is why kneeling i think. The flag is strong enough to take you saying well. I don't like how you think. That's the beauty of the flag. Everyone who is an american is represented by that flag. It doesn't belong to white people. Black people native american people. It belongs to all americans and if you're not an american you may not understand what we're talking about because that's the beauty. We don't have to agree. We can agree to disagree. We'll.

Alex Trebek, long-running 'Jeopardy' host, dead at 80

"And I get the a P alert that Alex Trebek had passed away. Hey, lost his fight against cancer. And what a life though I watched the 2020 special lesson, Did you? How was it? Yes. Oh, so good. Michael Strahan interviewed him recently. And he was already getting up on his roof and like snow, blowing the leaves off and stuff. I mean, he was still very active. He hosted his last jeopardy game just less than two weeks ago. Oh, my goodness. Yes, it is working, but I didn't realize this about him. And maybe this was common knowledge. Just how charitable he waas how much he gave back and how he decided to write a book because he wanted that advance money to give to the charity Is he already supported and new Cherries? That kind of came into his consciousness and he was just A very generous man and to hear the stories about that was pretty cool. All right. Here's a little bit of that interview Lex from last night's 2020. Alex talking about charity and laughter. What do you want? Your legacy to be? A nice man helped people through hiss charity work. Was kind to everybody encounter, you know, Enjoy life. Make somebody laugh. I believe laughter is one of the greatest cures. That we can possibly have. It's right up there with prayer. Believe me, it is. I think it really is. You know, they're he's a even a 36 years. He's 36 years. What's crazy? I mean, even though he's Canadian, you know Alex. Alex is one of those pop culture icons. You know, he really is. He's one of those he's He's in the fabric of Americana. I mean, your other than maybe prices right and well, I think there's a trifecta there. When you look at game shows You in jeopardy is is just classic American culture and and the success of that show, I think can be summed up by the format. And host. I think jeopardy is Alex Trebek and Alex Trebek is jeopardy and it's going to be very interesting to see what the next chapter of that show was like. Um Because you know the old saying and and Shobha everybody's replaceable but showing the line but my goodness that's going to be those are big shoes to fill. I would not write down. I would not want to be The producers of that show. It's crazy. Um, speaking of the show, Lex, I know you saw this on 2020. Here's the story of him getting the job on jeopardy. This is you know. Ah Ah, This is interesting. What brought Alex Trebek to America that phone call? Alex got a call from Alan Thicke, another Canadian from Northern Ontario, well known from growing pains. Of course, he was developing a game show for NBC called Wizard of Odds. Wizard of Odds. And when it came time for him to think of a host, he merely thought of Alex Trebek. I had accumulated 16 weeks of leave at the CBC and I took a leave of absence. Ah, holiday with pay and went in audition for a show Alex audition for the job and got it. And in 1973, he moved to California to host Wizard of Odds Now here's Wiley. I first met Alex in 1973. You just knew right away. He was smart. This is a former executive producer of Jeopardy in control. He has an amazing capacity. Take it all in. I started with Wizard of Odds I did that three year they can't riding high replaced it on a Monday with so called high rollers with Alec. It was cancelled and replaced by a show called Battle stars. They kept lately for Layla, but they can't keep the host. That's funny. Yeah. And then eventually they decided to bring back jeopardy and, ah And and Alex got the job on DH then, like I said, became just a sliver of pop culture and you know that you've made in pop culture when you're spoofed on SNL. And you know, they reference that last night on the special mean he was everywhere. Here's a here's a little bit of Alex's influence on pop culture enjoyed stepping out from behind the podium. There were women here in Jeopardy. You're feeling very sleepy. Oh, I'm sorry, Peter. We were looking for King Louis. The 11th. This automotive tool is used to tighten bolts. And let's just go from soup to nuts. He has been in one of the greatest shows of all time. The Simpsons and he has made an appearance in one of the worst shows of all time. Baywatch. Did you see Who you just rescue Hey, Alex, Meet Alex. Alex Trebek from jeopardy! I don't believe this. And of course, there are the unforgettable Saturday Night Live parodies of Celebrity Jeopardy in which will Ferrell channels a deadpan Trebek Aziz mercilessly taunted by Darrell Hammond As Sean Connery. We meet again, you longer headed, tickle brained pump you Enough people often ask me. How did you feel about Sean Connery on? Have you ever met him in person? I said no, I haven't. But if I ever meet him, I'm going to get one of these. It's time for final jeopardy. And so this Wass never be afraid of poking fun at yourself self deprecating humor. Is worth its weight in gold. Mark Gastineau wants his single-season sack record back

"Sack success for more casting mark Gastineau it's something that he certainly had of the NFL well the single season sack record from nineteen eighty four until two thousand one and now after keeping quiet for eighteen years he's speaking out the former jet says the single season mark should belong to him and not hall of Famer Michael Strahan destino had twenty two sacks of the nineteen eighty four season stray hand broke that mark in two thousand one against the Packers when quarterback Brett farb seem to take a dive which gave straight and twenty two and a half sacks destino was on hand he graduated strain on the field and hasn't really said anything negative about it until now Gastineau saying nothing against farmer straight and he just wants to be recognized for the record and he's surprised the NFL didn't step in what happened ESPN's ridge so many mark why now it's been eighteen years it happened and he said that you know he's sixty three years old you know you realize he's he is battling H. you know like a lot of us when we get the you know you start putting life perspective it is also had a lot of health issues I don't know if the listeners know what the market's been battling colon cancer is tested for about a year he's battled colon yeah his prognosis looks pretty good right now but he still going for additional follow up tests so I think that coupled with his age may of change things for him a little bit looking at things a little bit differently and he just wants to come out and and he feels like that should be his record any once the recognition he wants people to know that that should be his record I don't disagree with them but rich you you spoke with do you think that he understands that it's not going to be overturned at it that's not going to happen yeah I think you know that you know and I think it actually by the way we should mention that also Jared Allen former Minnesota Viking ingested Houston former Kansas City Chiefs also had twenty two stacked up to a tie with gas to know who did it in nineteen eighty four I think so and security and of course with twenty two and a half and yeah I mean they're never going to change the one little side note a friend of mine the NFL statistician he works games for an NFL team reached out to me and showed me the actual rules that statisticians go by with you know assigning sacks and technically that should not have been recorded as a staff it was no attempt to make a pass on that place so it really should have been ruled like a minus yardage for a rush and not a sack the thing is neither team the Packers or the giants filed a protest at the time so when in the book as a stack but really at the statistician pointed out by the letter of the law it should not have been a sack what is Michael Strahan has here and said anything about this yeah you know that's a really good question of the five years ago six years ago he did NFL life like it was on him you know the NFL network those those documentaries and that came up in the and I were and I re watched it and he was really candid about it and he talked about all the anguish that record has cost him because he's been teased about it and people say well as an asterisk next to it because that check last sack with a cheap one it really giving so he really opened up as to really how much you know like I said English it cost him and I know from talking to Gastineau eight which is somebody would break it I mean someone with disco pass them both and break it cleanly that way this whole issue dies and I know from watching that video with straight hair he two wishes someone would break it just to remove the shadow we circumstances that it happened first Reagan national saying he was also inspired after hearing a recent interview with Pete rose in gas and says that like rose he's trying to get what is rightfully

Kelly Ripa responds to backlash over son in 'extreme poverty' joke

"There may not know Jimmy Kimmel is in Brooklyn this week broadcasting from there is why he does every couple of years but it comes comes to Brooklyn which means you get for the New York people who won't fly to LA to do his show and they all do the show here in New York Kelly ripa was on Jimmy Kimmel because her son lives in Brooklyn so her son is attending and why you and why you I don't know if you know this but and why you right now if you don't live on campus I think it's a little cheaper so is anywhere between seventy and fifty thousand dollars a year to go to and why you just to attend and why you how much between fifty and seventy thousand dollars a year I believe it yeah we went to school Maryland that's over fifty grand a year and where my old let's say I know people went to Georgetown seventy five sound now yeah I mean think about that that's three hundred thousand dollars for a four year college education that doesn't include the other stuff the purple stuff the public puts it like three fifty right and you're familiar to earn that set and your mom is Kelly rep but she makes twenty million dollars a year that says salaries that twin for that one hour show that's right I guess she has some endorsements to the probably add to a but for the most part a B. C. just pays or for that nine o'clock show twenty million Bucks in there a long time member she replaced Kathie Lee yeah I know and then she said a lot of men through their Michael Strahan was with her for a while now she's with Ryan Seacrest is so strong she's been the constant yeah I suppose so but I know that show generates that kind of money at that hour of the day at nine o'clock in the morning it's heard a lover yeah she let her she's a great show woman yeah right now she's very good on that show but they but people living a little bit less is getting a lot of slack for this and I and I say kudos to the slack people because this is kind of offensive so here's our son lives in Brooklyn gone and why you she's paying all the money we just said yeah she wants to let him learn how to take care of himself so he's working and paying his own rent but in celebrity world that just means that she co signed the lease she bottom is furniture and he's just you know whatever money he makes is going to pay his rent with it so here here's what she told Jimmy Kimmel last night alright let's hear in Jimmy by the way is in Brooklyn yeah I think he loves the freedom he hates up paying his own rent and he is chronically poor I don't think he ever really experience you know extreme poverty that is not extreme poverty the fact that she called extreme poverty that her because her son as a friend angry about this are everybody is you should see Twitter is blowing up over this is articles everywhere being written about Kelly right but saying that her son paying his own rent is extreme poverty it's a way that celebrities try to to appear relatable to her this is what happens which from we're taking her to literally I'm sure she was kind of making a pseudo joke they're living in extreme poverty you know like when you say like when I was in my twenties boy I was poor and have a dime to my name did you really not have a dime to your name or were you living kind of you know day to day I did she went on with the story and she talked about how like his grandparents sent him money every year for Halloween yeah he was a kid so he's affable the grandparents of money yeah he said like a kit kat bar something they sent it they always sent money to send cash an envelope that's what she said for Halloween yeah Iran has nothing to do with money I understand that but that's a story that she told what would happen when he lost a tooth did they get like a big get a bond under his pillow maybe I don't know it she goes on to say that he called her and said when a grandma grandpa going to be sending my twenty dollars for Halloween I need the money and how like he's living res really living up like below the poverty line he's living in an apartment in Bushwick Brooklyn that she had a co sign for bush what is not a country closely at a show no no bills which wick goes to NYU which is as we just said anywhere between fifty and seventy five thousand dollars a year depending on what he's studying that she's paying for he's not living in poverty yeah but like he's not even though he's not paying for the education in his living and how big the apartment I don't know didn't didn't say it's probably in a pretty subpar apartment rent I doubt it which is pretty nice is it depends where bush okay trust me with Kelly ripa's son is in Bushwick yes nice he lives in a nice building that she had a co sign to get him into I think her point is that she very easily could put him up like a really nice apartment in pay for everything but now he's going through a character building experience where he doesn't have the luxuries he had when he was growing up so relatively yeah he is living in poverty compared to what he grew up with them saying listen the extreme poverty that term has a very specific definition yeah you know and it's it's characterized by severe deprivation of basic human needs no water no sanitation it's not only income but also access to services so even even and by that definition if this kid decides he wants to he wants help he has access to mommy

"Odell Beckham you had Michael Strahan thank you you've had some good players there. but Ben during the regular season Ben is a better quarterback. they're both E. light has had better moments although I will say what Ben did against Arizona and that two minute drill should be in the in the pay as you can make a case that is. as quote you would drive as we've ever seen with the stakes that high. and I know you I had that is that a couple of clutch drives absolutely but I think Ben is Abe a better he's more consistent quarterback. any more fun to watch too that helps. but it is interesting that the touchdowns in and passing yards they're really really really close and course they run the same ground but it feels like in a band is a better quarterback. although that first Super Bowl they won as some of the players on the team of told me. and was scared out of his pants. no bad to telling dude chill is he was almost going to lose it any did lose a Superbowl as well. yes my clone it's funny because we were looking the items he had some monster seasons when the team is just no good at all I can put these Odell Beckham seasons in it gigantic numbers but they were at a completely non threatening gives funny any a bad numbers and they won the Superbowl nearly always seven here's here's a our two poll question at least a possibility who finished the season with a different team E. line Jaylen Ramsey Jamal Adams the jets. did anybody else we put in there who finishes the season with another team yes it feels like jaelen rams is going to finish the week with. only year December third and I came yes. that's a little hiccup he would have to play one more game with the team yeah basically I mean nothing to get this done next eight minutes they sit on. yet wacky press conference yesterday. here is a jail Ramsey a doesn't want to answer everybody's question on is servicing low question it's our guard about different situations and and what came about to lead to this point I have the embed a negative to say around about anybody in this building. happens it is what it is out there by for the most part nose was a. okay if it is what it is did you ask for trade. did you or your people as for trade that's All I Want to know it's yes or no. let's all. amber the media Jaylen. did you ask or you or somebody close to you as for trade. so. because then they started me information leaking out here here's a jail in Ramsey on that topic. minimize and we we are not the one who leaked the information and I was very strict about that because I did not want to get out of town I don't want to be a distraction I want everybody asking my teammates all type of questions throughout the week so let me be real clear about that I was not the one me and my team okay way way way okay okay okay so there is information that got leaked but you didn't leak it so who came up with the information to be late your your agent. did you ask for trade and you say it's not a distraction that yes for trade only Tuesday or Monday yes you. yeah I don't understand what you're saying there. about Jaylen Ramsey yes yeah can we delete Mason but then you know who came up with the information to leak I don't what does that mean well there's information so what is the information right so he is so he asked for a trade right and he says like I think every but at this point everybody Berman everybody knows what's up yeah but he didn't confirm it yes yes did you ever trade I'm I'm assuming that they did I don't know I did I wasn't there but there's information there they got leaked so who came up with that a. Jacksonville say Hey we we're the one requesting a trade. the jail in Ramsey is quoted as saying he asked for a trade yeah if you want if you want to trade they have to shop on right. yeah. but I mean they could have leaked it but there's information to be late if he says Hey there's nothing to leak because I I know I don't want to be traded he never said that. right. yes for trade yeah yeah. so who leaked the. using the team did yeah then I thought I want to know okay did you ask for trade. I don't he didn't say yes for trade he said it is what it is. we're not on the same page. if that's what he said to the ramps none I immediately the Jack okay that's he said we're not on the same yet so I want to trade it is what it is it is what it is this is what it is is what it is whatever it is yes if you watch a video of reporter asked do you not want to be traded and generous he looks over at the team PR person. and it's are you can ask me a question but he still doesn't answer the question because you know what I want to make this about me. I'm guessing that you know you discuss this with your agent that you want to be traded and the information came out of what does Jacksonville want and then it was all you know ESPN reported two first round picks they're not getting two first round picks for but you asked for two and you get one first round pick and this third you know you ask for too much you will you put out there that you want to unless the Texans you know say Hey we'll give you the same thing we gave for Laramie tonsil because tonsils in the same situation Jaylen Ramsey ready to get paid and Jaylen Ramsey's bettered his position in Laramie tonsil is but I don't know what Jacksonville once. it's not surprising that this was going to happen I'm surprised it happen this soon but I like that he says he wants to win if they said you know what we're gonna make you the highest paid cornerback in the league. the stand. that's a huge win win that's a huge window so what he didn't say what he wants to win. yeah I wanna W. either way as to my bank account or unfilled it's a win that's a win. it is what it is yeah Randy wants to win here we want to be treated like a young team that's defensively focused which has a lot of talent and is close to the Superbowl that the country would like to join I think as a team that he's on right now they were close the symbol eighteen months ago man it seems so far away does it really does they were a couple breaks away in that game from being in this it's really really far away. a jail in Ramsey. you got the game on Thursday night like how all out is he gonna play in that game. that's where you play do not get hurt is there like a I'm not gonna put it out there for my team. jail Ramsey wants out and I still goes back to what I said yesterday these players are looking at the NBA players and that model and saying why can't we control our own future. AB did it Jalin Ramsey they've been quite a few players are like Odell Beckham like I hate you know control my own future here lady on bell. so I think this is just the start. you start to see you it's like load management in the NBA. marijuana first came out you're like oh come on load management the spurs were doing load management before was called load management. Gregg Popovich is saying look I want my guys ready for the posi. why does it lebron doesn't. get used to it. is now you the NBA is going to have to look at this and say let's get all my stars together and let's ask Hey people coming out to see you what is a reasonable regular season schedule here. and I think that Adam silver has at least contemplated shortening the regular season but if your stars are only plain sixty five games they're missing seventeen and chances are they're probably not missing a lot of home games there is you're certainly want to please the owner yeah apple wouldn't shortening the regular season not addressed load manager whatsoever they would just a just load management to a six a seven game schedule it's still okay now I'm start play fifty seven noon I know I'm going to I'm going from seventy games now to fifty seven but when do football players to load management. wiki sixteen seventeen bike I'm just you know these guys love to play and they love to rack up numbers here but I wonder at some point do you say you know I've had I got three hundred touches and that's all I'm gonna do this year like I I don't know where we're headed with that but load management load management is a real thing in the NBA. Emma club are the rams doing that with Todd Gurley now they sure use him as a a platoon guy well they said no but I would I thought he looked great you know it's great to see that burst in whatever allows me to keep him in that form then I do it now he may not want that but privately we have a conversation where I say to him Hey I want to limit your touches because in December and January and hopefully February you're ready to go. I mean it's likely he got paid but if he hadn't gotten paid yet he would say no way give me as many characters that you can well unless you're on the same page with Sean McVay and you say look I want to get paid don't base this on my number's base this on what I'm going to mean for this team come post season time and that's what I would do with Dallas with Ezekiel Elliott I mean I I want you fresh for the post season that's our goal to win a championship. take a break here more phone calls coming up..

"Only covers covers of popular songs. I it helps though that that is my favorite TLC song. So unless it's like way far out there. I think I'm probably going to like any cover. Yeah. Jenny. No. There's a song that goes against the no scrubs another band called no pigeons. This is this was talking about was scrubby women. I guess pigeons. Arnaldo no pigeons. I forget what the words were. But I always thought it was pretty funny. Now, if you like TLC songs, and you like comedy, then you need to watch the movie the other guys with will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg. There's a character on the show that keeps making references to TLC songs. He'll say terms like, you know, I don't want no scrubs. And they're like you did it again. He's like what it's a TLC song. What are you talking about a very funny movie the other guys? All right, what movie franchise features VIN diesel ludicrous, the rock and Paul Walker that is the fast and the furious. And there are how many now one hundred seven seven and they're working number eight. All right. And they're not gonna stop true or false, Michael Strahan and Kelly. Ripa have not spoken a long time. That is true. They had a bad break up again. Now, Michael Strahan, the seem phony to me. I don't get his success. I don't I just don't like him very much as a as a television host. I don't either. But I don't watch them on sports. But I'm Kelly. You know, I was like multiple shows somehow. No, he's obviously. He's got something. He must have the same agent as John CENA. Yeah. If you have a little list, he does he does. He does. Good for him for overcoming that? I mean, his sports analysis is okay. Even that think he's great. Yeah. Good Morning, America. And it was on Kelly Michael on FOX NFL Sunday. Okay. I hate to say this. But maybe you know, how hugs is voices the state. Yeah. Right. Like, seventy two right? Right. Right. Right. Minimum. Right. Right. The maybe Michael Strahan with list is it's identifies him. So it could be it's a memorable hugs his voices memorable. Michael Strahan's voices memorable. Yeah. It's not the same. So maybe if he didn't have the list, it just wouldn't be interesting. Maybe not maybe not it's subconscious. But I'm just telling you, I've never really also heard him, honest talk shows have that strong of an opinion on anything. And I don't think anything I don't think you need to have a strong opinion on everything. But. Is what it is. It's like I don't feel like I know who he is. I don't even football. He kind of like, well, you know, gives both. Nothing's like, well, what are you thinking? You're really thinking. Kelly Ripa is still friends with an in touch with Regis. I mean, who she did the show with for years and years and years, and she just they just did not have a good break up at the end of that show, tough if you're moving onto something. Yeah. Both making a lot of money. And then last question pop quiz who sings this. Lovely the band. Yeah. Katie all five, correct? Next chance to play tomorrow morning at seven twenty Super Bowl smack super bowl's coming up as you know. And this is getting out of control Tom Brady versus Harry Potter. That is the latest beef is that even real Super Bowl fifty three not Tom Brady and Jared Goff Bill. Ballot. Check, and Sean McVeigh Tom Brady and the actor who plays Harry pyre say, Harry Potter dies, started it. He did. Yeah. I don't know. If Tom Brady's even responded. I don't think I wouldn't. Yeah. "See custody that was like such a random thing for that. Judge to do like it's obvious that he's like friends of the man's. You know out totally took demands outside and all this. But that she's never strayed from Joe this like leakage is just to prepare us for what's going to happen. Because right now as a society are not prepared if my tip was right. Your tips at the and miniature boyfriend, no on the reunion. She told the ladies that she enjoy her divorcing. And she is seeing someone else. This isn't percent. But this might be preparing us for that. Right. Because as right now, we wouldn't have been prepared make her people are like, it's fine. If you want to do this. But you've been like been so gung ho like you're sticking with Joe. You don't have a boyfriend. You guys are going to be together. You're going to be a family or not spending up your family. They have to sort of prepare people for coming. Right. Well, I was really interesting things get leaked from the reunion because I read Andy's books and for a while. They don't really big problem where like shit could not stop getting everyone knew everything and then. Then they would turn off the audio for the in the hair and makeup green rooms because it used to be when there and make a people were just sitting around. They would watch the stream they turn the audio off in the green rooms they had like fifty like one hundred percent less league. So I wonder who leaked this unless it was on purpose. I'm feeling some purpose. That lawyer of hers was like you have to cook pair of this cushion, the blow preparedness his k it is. Okay. Next story. A little morning show. Jarama Levent heat to see. But. Michael Strahan says he hasn't spoken to former co host Kelly Ripa quote in a long time. I wouldn't either nearly three years after Michael Strahan's controversial decision to leave live with Kelly and Michael controversial for GM. The former giants defensive end still isn't speaking to his former co host Kelly Ripa because she's a job in a new interview with time magazine for its fourth issue. Strahan reveals that he and rip are no longer in touch despite four years of working together. Quote. I haven't spoken to her in a longtime Strahan told time. I learned through all that went down with that. You can't convince people to like you a rep for did not immediately respond to people's request for comment. Okay. Explained to me why they say his controversial decision to leave a job for a better job. Like you promoted. Congrats. Yeah. I don't know. I don't think this is controversial. I think like literally I like Kelly Ripa because her husband is in Riverdale. She's friends with Andy. She's a cute little fella morning show or bunny. But that whole situation was so fucked up and she handled it so poorly. Like, I will never forget it. She didn't show up to work for a week when she makes twenty one million dollars a year fucking kidding me. Because you're. Your co worker quit because he got a better job, and he didn't wanna be your side piece anymore. But the show it's the Kelly show, whoever sits next it really doesn't fucking matter. So sorry. Yeah. That really pissed me off that whole thing. She was so out of control. She really was so diva and like so out of control, and she wouldn't just be happy for her friend. No or just be happy for what she has written a sheets, like only industry insiders bigwigs can even tell the difference between that morning show in like us. It's all the same procedures this help. Also you to go on later to sleep in a little bit cheating. But she did just that she was live with Regis and Kelly, and it was really Regis his show. And he had a different women every time Kathy Griffin was on. And she turned it intern show and good for her and then she had met. And so who fucking cares. He did what she did took the better job. Yeah. Anyone would do that in? It's show biz. No one's g you talk to your old coworkers my God. I don't have any..

You know, and I feel like kind of a pawn in a political game and totally powerless house. Speaker Nancy Pelosi is asking President Trump to postpone his January twenty ninth state of the union address, citing security concerns, but Republicans say this is just politics shutdown politics. "We have no shopping. I ran into one of your lineman at a Springsteen concert. And he I said, hey, how's Eli going to go? He's lost. He has no idea what he's doing. And he said, he's got talent. But he has no idea what he's doing right now. Yeah. I mean, he has a lot of talent. But then when you look at it safety, we've looked like. What the hell hell on that? And that look at it chain. But he, but he you know, when they put him in there. I'll just never forget. What do we do? We just kinda just through the season behind his young out can't handle it. And but he'd crude with all wrong. But I think that's what you gotta do. And I think Eli is that he realizes that. And the worst thing. Smart athletes realized that when it goes, and I was told by Earl legged, you know, my coach I defended line goes also how long's coach when he was with the raiders when it goes it goes fast. You don't know if you're gonna lose it at the beginning middle or end of the season. But when it goes it goes fast. So that was always conscious in my mind when I retired that oh, I could come back, and I could play a little bit more. But what if I'm in the middle of the season, the beginning of the season, all of a sudden, I just lose it. I can't play performed the way that I used to death of miserable feeling so you only got to get out with a little bit left in the tank, or when you get out you always leave something behind by trying to mentor, the younger players, and I think Eli that kind of guy who will invite younger younger quarterback in and we'll help him out because he realized he has helped the giants immensely one to Super Bowls advanced them as much as he couldn't have done the best that he could be any always be revered here. New york. Michael good to talk to you again. Safe travels till the boys at FOX, we set a low and. And man in those clips and Tigers great win GM May Day. We wanna pay for that lobster, and caviar whatever the young guys want because they deserve it, man. The great win by them and coach Dabo Sweeney. So congrats to them. Thank you for having me on you. Call me, I'm dropping everything. And I'm your meal to how about that. Thank you, Michael. Michael Strahan NFL and FOX hall of Famer and good Morning America co host, you know, pulling guys got a little bit of an ad to little jerky. No, you think. Yeah. Yeah. So nice. Yeah disturbing. I still love a quote that he gave me when I was asking him about Brady. And he said, you know, what I have even more respect for him because we hit him every single time in the Super Bowl. We our goal was even if we didn't get to him to sack him we were going gonna hit him. But Justin talk and stray hand that defensive line won the Super Bowl because the the pressure. They put on Brady and I got to watch the fourth quarter down on the sidelines. Does that game move so fast down there? It's it's it's so different than on your TV. And it's like watching you same Bolden person as opposed on TV man as he faster, and you're watching these linemen, and you you're wondering how Brady has the time to try to even throw. Where's he throwing it too? And they hit him and Michael Strahan said Brady never said a word. He never. Said a word, and we hit him with everything we had we'll come back this day in sports history. What we learn. What's in store tomorrow? We'll do. So after this in the Dan Patrick show. Okay. This is just a thirty second commercial. And I'm gonna throw a lot of numbers.

"If it was experience lacking talent, they have experience and feel they have talent. So that was that's what makes these two guys dangerous. And in the case of Kansas City, you're going to get almost a the past of the patriots right now. If you look on paper Kansas City, the better team you look at stabs Kansas City is by far the better team. But when you look at just the way they performed. A playoff the way. They they they take control sits game to win game that it looks like the author them you have to get a patriots that that that you know, that lead in that. And on the other end of the ram very talented team defensively not to sue sewer sometimes gonna show up and how well they're gonna play and automatically as well. So the Rams are kind of the wild card of the two and the and the saints even though to go to a slow start last last week once they get rolling they probably had one of the better defenses. And they do have a quarterback who you feel at any point could make anything happen. He's Michael Strahan hall of Famer FOX NFL Sunday analyst in good Morning, America co host which the number one thing that you that people ask you when they see you on the street. How do you do all those? When did you winter you sleep? Heck, I'm sleek right now, you didn't even know it. Did you have you ever come close to a physical altercation with Jimmy? How are you Terry? In my mind. Out of those three how he's the one size wise. You don't wanna mess with Terry? Feels like he could be crazy. Yeah. Well, I think I think the thing. the thing with how if you gotta fight how we just don't hit him in the head guaranteed. A broken. That's a big hit gotta give them some body size. It's a big big big head. That's a that's a solid noggin. He has I was surprised that the Panthers owner came out publicly in talked about Cam Newton shoulder saying he might have to sit out like, Andrew luck. Why what would be the game plan or logic behind that of now that question comes up every time the coaches in front of the media or the quarterback or the owner is I don't know why you would offer up. No that distraction. I think that's speaking without thinking, you know, you're kinda in that moment. And you're thinking oh so billion sodas messed up. We saw Andrew luck with through throwing it out there. But now you do create an issue where where you're going to have to deal with this going to be a distraction for your team. And and and you just hope it's not true. Can Cam is one of my favorite quarterbacks to watch these dynamic. He's all those things but go Soeda injury the serious quarterback. And and but the throw it out there like that. The ownership and probably not the best move to do..

"So this story yesterday at Michael Strahan course, if Fox Sports and good Morning America offered to pay for the dinner. The Clemson Tigers football team didn't get at the White House. They got celebrate Tori, fast food dinner. And Michael was saying that he would offer up lobster and caviar. He joins us on the program. That's a big tab to pick up their Mike. Are you going to do it? Yeah. Of course, if the guys wanna come to town, you say it, you gotta do it. So I mean, it's stated they're better than what they got. I just I understand it in that position. For wack come from a big deal for these kids phenomenal game. And I love watching it. And I they sent celebrate celebrated. Heck, I would do it for you. If I had just you would be. Wow. But you're too busy for me. Mike, you're way too busy. I never would would Patrick. Yeah. When you were a rookie. Did you get caught with a big tab? Yeah. You know? What would I was rookie? We had to do all the doughnuts and the juices every weekend for the whole team. And and that got to be a few thousand dollars a week and there are sixteen weeks. So that was thirty something thousand and then dinners and back then you had to pay for your minutes on your cell phone and you had to pay for long distance. So we would go in the west coast. And the guy was hey rook my phone. Did they run up your bills paid my fair share tabs? Did you ever run up a big win on on rookies? Now, man. No never really did that I always knew that was in that situation. And and I've been around for a while and made enough money to head of all Bill. So not that I never made them pay for anything breakfast sandwiches, other than that. I didn't run a big bills on the young guys, and you didn't make more than one hundred and fifty hundred seventy five thousand year rookie year. I don't think I've made a and I wanna say twenty five or thirty five thousand my Ricky, excluding the signing bonus. But I didn't know about Uncle Sam and all these other things so you know, has relatives that crept in there, and ate up a lot of that. But it was great. I mean, come on. I'm twenty one years old at the time. I wasn't gonna make that you know, working anywhere else outside of football. Not. So I was happy with it. When you look at these teams that are still left. You got the four highest scoring teams in the NFL. Is they're too much offense. Can there be too much offense? There can't be too much often. But it is a pretty amazing. Usually you have one team that's a super dominant defense. That's in it at this point. And in this case, you don't have any you almost have a four great offense than what Steve with defense could be the least worst. And and and I gotta say that the saints defense is probably one of the best out here out of it all even though they all pretty much stepped up in the play offs. But it's gonna be interesting. This is the offense offense driven playoff this year. And nothing better than the fan in watch point. So they're going to get what they want. How surprised are you? The Brady is still Brady at forty one man really how we how he was joking on set all weekend after they'd put up all the point forty one on last week about oh, he's done. They say he's done. And and they've been saying he's been done for the last five years. You say it enough eventually she'll be done. But it's just not now the guy the maze. The take care of themselves and. There's no body better in the clutch than Brady. And when you're the playoffs and the team you want somebody who you know can pull you out of any situation. So you never gonna give up and that's the danger of a plan the patriots because the game has never over. And they have a guy who's proven time and time again, he can get you out of any jam and pull you back victory. So does that give the saints patriots of you know, a little bit of an edge or bigger edge? Because drew Brees and Tom Brady going against two relatively young inexperienced quarterbacks. Well, I I think in. Yeah. I think in a way it does exp. It would be different..

"It depends upon what the meaning of the word is. Is this anything? Hammerhead we play is this anything I'm gonna tell you about some of these stories that some people would find interesting some would not I want you to be the one to decide if it's anything or not. His this anything Michael Strahan spent a full segment this morning trying to talk to Kevin Hart. Former Oscars host comedian Kevin Hart about his past homophobic comments that cost him his Oscars hosting gig. Now, Kevin Hart wasn't having it. He just kept saying he was over talking about it. This is from good Morning America. You apologize. You said you were sorry. But there are a lot of people who've taken an issue to the way that you apologize. So so what do you say to that? I it it gives me more energy for me. There's the more conversation about it. I'm literally I'm over that. I'm over the moment. And I'm about today. So if it's accepted, great, and it's not it's nothing I can control some things are left out of your hands. So. Dealt with it. I'm I'm over it. That's why I personally how have you all I had explain how I vault which makes me Thang. I'm over it. I'm not saying how about changed anymore. I'm not saying what I've done and what the new me is. I'm not giving. No more explanation. Of who? I am. I'm done. I've addressed it. Everything. You say some over it. Good.
