"The main focus of spider tech is to help law enforcement agencies improve the services that they provide and the customer service they provide more specifically which ultimately improves public. Perception of that agency and public perception is essentially the most important success metric for any chief executive at a police department or sheriff's department the united states and the way we kind of approached this is is similarly tau the private sector. Approach it when you buy something from a company like amazon or any other website. You're going to get these automated customer communications constantly throughout the process of of of fulfilling your order for example. You'll get that email immediately when you click submit. Your order goes through joke confirmation. You'll get you'll be told when expecter item you'll get emails and text messages across the band and saying hey right in the ship drive. It's delivered you. Click here to track the satisfy your order. Then at the end they're gonna be. Put your feedback loop because they won't understand how you like the item and how if the services they provided were adequate and and whether they can make improvements all this is done through an automated system that they either build in house to the external and we built that same type of automated essentially customer service platform for public safety agencies specifically in carrollton if were right next door. If you're driving through hilton you call nine one when you hang up the phone. A text message from carrollton. Pd saying hey. Here's everything that you need to know about an officers going to be showing up and giving you updates about that. When the officer leaves you'll get an email or text message saying here's everything you need. Nobody report your your detectives assigned you know your an arrest has been made. I mean they're going to hold your hand through that entire process. And while they're doing that they're also gonna send you a surveys to get a better sense of of how you felt about the austerity interact with how you're feeling about the services what other information you can give them. So they can improve their services and optimize it on there and you're giving them the ability to utilize that data to serve the community better. And that's that's the name of the game that first. Mvp first pilot that you built how long it took you to build. What sort of tools you use to bring it to life. They they tell you that there's a lesson learned when you build an mvp they tell you to kind of start with a. You know like a roller skate. And and trying to brainstorm what we can do from there and one of the things he left us with. It's just keep it simple and help. We want to make sure that we're providing the best service we possibly can help us compete while the customer service side with these companies like amazon. Etcetera that are driving up expectations consumer expectations on you know what to expect when they enacted services that kind of clicked for us and we decided to start something simple which is just an automated email or text that goes out to people if a report gets filed for them but just give them some basic information. That's it started. i remember. We met a police chief john. Peters in grover beach california central california and he no he was he was a nice guy. Said hey if you guys have something. You wanted to try. Happy to to to talk to you about it. We drove up there. We we asked him about it. We said hey look. Here's what we got. He gave us thumbs up. Go ahead give shot small department at twenty cops a little less and we split up there. No no to to make sure it worked and it worked and then from there we started building a customer base but having your customer that was willing to take a bet on us and saw the value and it was kind of not wasn't like a high expectations type deal. It was like let's see what you guys can do in a friendship and a partnership there. It was really important. Now see that grew because a second agency that we started working with was much larger than that of tucson arizona one of the major cities in arizona and they gave us a shot to again that starts on page that eventually turned into a pay contract but started starts on page and in tucson. They really worked with us. We had members of staff were driving our product decisions in a variety of ways. We're testing a product at scale and that from there that's where this product really took took off and is now used by over sixty agencies in the united states and canada. I want to dig into that. Mvp a little more with decisions and trade offs. but before. I think it's a really important thing to point out that you did that. Twice for for free. How did you. How did you go through that process. Was it hard to deal with. Was it was like oh man. We're putting our our goods out there for nothing. Tell me a little bit about that. Process especially with enterprise deals and especially government like any industry that is very very slow to change and is essentially risk. Averse doesn't really like working with startups. You have to find ways to incentivize them to give you a shot and if they feel like the risk is not necessarily financial. There might be some manpower risk their end. You can basically bring the risk down to a level that is acceptable for that for us. It wasn't about making immediate cash is about testing this out in the first place and seeing if there is true value when you're in that stage sometimes getting ten fifteen twenty thousand dollars if you have venture capital funding by the way ten fifteen twenty. Two thousand dollars isn't as important as getting a product to market now instead of having to wait six to nine months to get something across the finish line to get a little bit of cash and we made the choice to basically try this for free and if that worked immediately us that's accelerate real sales. I will say that. It wasn't about six months after we deployed the product. The first time for free to original customers that are first paying customer came around and then it was paying all the way cross. Could we never had to give the product way forever yet but that was a necessary sacrifice for us in an industry like that. Well let me double back on the mvp little bit so you decided to keep it simple right. You decided to go with kind of a minimal product.

"Michael Sherline and this is episode Number Forty Eight today is September twenty, second twenty twenty and joining me this episode is someone you guys are probably question at first because he is the current Blackhawks beat writer for the athletic and you'll probably be saying well, why the heck is he on your podcast this is an islanders podcast Mike and you guys have called me out on stuff like that in the past, but it's all for good reason. So joining me I'd like to introduce Mark Lazarus mark what's going on? I thought I was here to talk about Andrew Ladd nickelodeon nobody else. what about Islanders Lee? Not, a Chicago is in, MINNESOTA Listen to me see I've had such a crazy week this week already that my brain is already shot. So I'm sure that'd be great. That'd be great reviews of the podcast like always. So, the reason why I wanted to have mark on and if you guys follow the athletic or subscribe to the athletic, he had a couple of weeks back a fantastic article outlying some of the crazy thoughts that were banging around in his head. And Look. We're all guilty of that from time to time. But if you don't know marker up on Long Island and we'll get to that and. he grew up in islander fan and as a pro rider especially one who covers another team and he lives in. CHICAGO Just, it would be really fun to just kick around what we both saw at the islanders the last couple of series ultimately losing to Tampa in the eastern conference final and I. Guess we'll kick it off from there. So mark were you born in nineteen eighty also? I was. All right. So that's that's two things now that we have in common and this is why that article Kinda hit home for me. I recently turned forty in August and obviously the both of us have an experienced a run like this by the islanders since we were thirteen and fourteen basically, I, think it was like ninth grade in high school. So you know just take me back through your time long island in you know how you came to be an islanders fan we'll.

"Do THEY NOT Sarokin has seems like he was gonna come over and Friday. It seemed like that the islanders had traded his rights supposedly to Chicago. Suppose I had read you know and I don't know if this was an incarcerated Bob tweet or not. I am not sure Was Alex debrincat and Brandon. Saad for the rights to Sarokin. I would have thought maybe the Leonard would have come back. It would obviously raise some eyebrows in a lot of people had said the same thing on twitter ultimately not true. You had the the big Russian guy eager over there Shoot down right away. He's been spot on for all Russian things especially with Sarokin over the last couple of seasons so glad that that didn't happen but Sarokin obviously GONNA come in next year solidify the back end with Varlamov in. He's going to need a deal. So that's another thing you got going on overall lot. A lot of crazy fund things today and You know I guess. We'll we'll see if jeff and I get together. What other avenues we can get down and talk about some of the Games here Over the losing streak and the previous jeff four here where the islanders Kind of answered back. Got Two games in a row with it. They wanted home which was good to see Friday on Sunday so Thanks for listening. This is going to be a little short one just as your trade analysis so to speak and I mean hope you enjoyed it. This has been Michael Sherline with the aisles. Faithful podcast episode number. I don't even know what episode forty four of the twenty fourth and February let's go..

"You know what I mean. It's not that far between Long Island bridgeport but they had a very. I don't even think they take the ferry. I think just take the through the whole not the three ninety five the whole way so I could alcohol. Ultimately you know be dangled. Sure it could even see you know. I honestly don't see I mean it depends on what teams are looking for. Obviously but if I'm a GM was looking to make a trade. I'm not really looking at delco specifically just because looking from the stats. Sheet is nothing. That's going to jump out at me. That said Oh yeah. This is going to help my team down the road could he? Absolutely he could turn into next season. You know at ten fifteen twenty goalscorer. We don't know I just at this moment in time. I don't personally see him. Being dangled as a trade chip to another team says yeah. We'll give you that. Sounds like a fair trade for us. Here Take Player X. I could see them definitely dangling ho-sang as a throw in Plus a mix of like I said before be prospect and and maybe a second rounder. At most or second and third. Yeah because they have all their picks for the next four years so there's definitely some Some picks to be moved. But you also want keep up. Some of the higher picks in case there is a hockey trade to be made where you're going to bring in a legitimate talent Like they tried to sign Panorama in the off season in ultimately failed where he went to the Rangers. Boo allows kind of predetermined. Anyway I think we answered that question so Robert. Thank you for that question and We're gonNA close things out with something already touched on. But Obi one Maroney Ryan Moroni. One of my favorite twitter followers always seems to have a great question. Always good for a laugh. Always good for some smart analysis. He's a really good fan for you. Don't work with him. Yes me the force. Be with him. he says. I'm just about done with Nicoletti. Don't know how I feel about him but I feel he could be appeased dangled for a trade. He can skate semi control. The puck other than that. You're uses to shoot when there's chaos in front and have never seen so many ill-advised passes at the opposing team's sticks and skates. How do you feel about a DVD trade? If there's one that we had that is so we kind of touched on this a little bit and i. I mentioned earlier in the episode how I had read that Tim when it came in last night. And wouldn't you know it about three seconds later? Nicoletti did exactly what Ryan has said. Multiple Times took show in the second period on software. Poker rahlves Shin Pads Philly. Takes it back the other way. Actually that that specific one turned into that that show and a breakaway. It did. Yeah so again you know I can see them moving Nicoletti he has become somewhat expendable Kinda bounced around on some of the pairings with pelvic out obviously Berry has kinda put the defensive lines in a blender and I think he's Kinda struck gold with some of his new defensive pairs here over the last five or six games but I I again I can see them if not for a D. They definitely move him for some offensive help Instead of prospect like hey you know. We'll we'll throw in leading ho-sang if you know we get a patio or you know we'll throw in a second rounder as well I can. I can maybe see something like that happening Other than that definitely definitely be good trailer for auto it would be a good trade fraud where you have a veteran defenceman that can move the puck. Somebody that they haven't really had since Erik Karlsson eka sixty five moved on to San Jose. So you know I watching watching Anthony Clarin and knowing Joshua saying those to be an electric pair for Ottawa to down the road. Yeah then you move. Ho-sang back to his native country of Canada so that could kind of stir things up in that respect as well but His his time might be done. He has been playing. Okay for Bridgeport here over the last company. I don't have the stats in front of me but I was looking on this morning. And they're they've been getting better. He's not bearing the puck in the back. Napoli who's got fewest assist of the last couple of games. And He's been quiet. You haven't heard any drama. He's probably been just keeping his head down and being a pro and you know you like we said before he's got land down there so you know as long as you got someone like him even Thomas. Hickey kind of keeping you in check. I'm sure that's good for the organization is good for Josh. Ho saying you know. I'm not going to agree with the fans. Tell me that they need to bring ho-sang 'cause I don't think that's ever going to happen. That ship has sailed definitely not with this organization. We can compare him to. We can compare him to those poor souls on that cruise ship that keeps getting denied entry to every port it tries to go to do the corona virus fierce. So those those people have been stuck on that ship now for two weeks whether analogy. I know that's because I read the news today while I was at lunch so anyway I I think that pretty much wraps it up. Thanks for all the great questions Tim Thanks for coming in studio. Thanks for having me. Hopefully this sounds okay. I have two microphones plugged in and I I could see that. The other microphones picking up my voice. But we we've played around with it. The beginning of the episode seems to be. Okay if not I could. I could work some editing magic in the and see where it goes from there and if your stuff I'm going to sit back and Nabokov one wants to go to work. That works for me if I did not say that. The bidding began about at the beginning of the episode. This is episode number forty. Three I am your host. Michael Sherline is always again. You can follow me.

"The Isles Vehicle podcast with your host Michael Shirley Line Alo- and welcome back to the Isles faithful podcast. It has been a minute you can say. I think I might have said that the last time we did this a little bit of a gap year between episodes as you know I had had a busy holiday like the rest of you was home with the kids. Did a bunch of stuff with them had a good time for Christmas. They all enjoyed everything. They're having some good times with families going back and forth and then in the middle of all that or after I should say started a new job so I I kinda trying to get caught up there and get get acclimated and it's it's been great Working with some fantastic new people a lot closer to home So just all settled in there now. So which is why we're we're here. I've said over the last couple of weeks that I've wanted get an episode out and I said I was going going to and then something else came up and regardless I'm here now that's what's important Today is January twenty six twenty twenty two new decade. Were into something new here. Something New and exciting twenty twenty. I am going to be forty this year. I can't believe it. That's just amazing. Anyway this is episode so number forty two and I am your host as always Michael Sherline. So would've what are we GONNA get ourselves into today if you follow me on twitter at Aisles Blogger Auger. I have been complaining nonstop about the same type things. I guess everybody else has really been complaining about Nazi. The aisles have been rather rather pedestrian as of late What I mean by that is since the amazing stretch of games that they had earlier in the season and The aisles were twenty seven in to the last time we spoke there now. Twenty nine fifteen and five so they still have a winning record. Haven't really played all that great. So it's a difference of nine eight and three. They're they're over five hundred which is good Nica break that down even further and say maybe they aren't five hundred over the last ten or so games. I'm not one hundred percent. Sure I did write five pages of notes here. But that's not one of the things. Of course I looked up. Unfortunately you don't I got all this paper right here. So what are we gonNA do over those twenty games. The owls have obviously been pretty pedestrian as we spoke about they've struggled in all areas Ali League against some lesser teams with lower standings in them lower in the in the standings And there's been some blowout losses Some legals against some power goals against late. I'm looking at you dark persad against your former team. No less which again could go either way. I didn't necessarily think it was a penalty I said said on twitter when guys head goes low and his feet go over his head. It's an embellishment in you know. We'll get into that in a little while as well So we got some non calls. That still continue here and we'll get into that as well. I Al- Zor currently third in the metro but just three points from not not being in a playoff spot at all Columbus one point back Carolina to in Philly three respectively. And this is going into the last game last week before the all-star break the gals are also now that the all-star break is over are going into their CBA mandated by week so we won't see another game here until February first day before super bowl which is next weekend so we have a bunch of days to sit in mill about in wonder what's going to happen on the other end of the spectrum. They are four points back of Pittsburgh who just can't seem to lose no matter. How many injuries they they have their seven back Boston in eight back of first place? Washington to the East is very tight. So if you do the quick math there there's only think eleven points between first and the last wildcard spot maybe a little more at parody for you. That's the new. NHL That's what they want. It is exciting. I love hockey. Okay I love this time of year. Granted him a little stress about a couple of different things. But you know the aisles did manage to bank all those points earlier in the year so they were riding on that it and we'll see what happens during the twenty games. The aisles have scored sixty goals in allowed sixty two so for the rest of this or for that season to this point. The goal differential is plus eleven. I don't know exactly where they were last year at this point I know it's probably a little worse because the goaltending while well it has been good. Defensively the aisles have struggled They've also struggled offensively as well so that. That number is a little tighter than maybe we have wanted edited and we saw last year so I tweeted during this stretch of poor play that the leading score is since Christmas had had five points each and that was bars Elson. It's improved a little bit and I'm GonNa go through some numbers here. Bear with me. I know it can be a little boring when I read stats. But it's it's pretty important for the whole picture So now I'm going back to the twenty seventh of December which is when I had tweeted that out On the fourteenth of January that you know the leading to scores Air Bars L. Nelson with five points so over this last A bunch of games Barzel has ten points. One goal and nine assists Nelson seven goals three assists Bailey. Eight points three goals. Five six Lee has seven points. Five goals two assists Bo. Villa has seven points. Three goals IOS four cysts broussard. Only has four cysts everyday who struggled with the combat from the injuries kind of turned it on a little bit. He has seven points. four-goal street assists. Now you got a bunch of defenseman here who are kind of outscoring most of the forwards which is kind of funny but Ryan polack has six points points. One goal five assists DEVANTE has five points one goal for cysts let has forced cysts. Zeke's has five goals Mayfield. Three three points one goal two assists boy Chuck Scott No points during that stretch. Calmer off you know. And he has played less games and some of the rest of the forwards here. Yes six points in in those games. One goal five assists. He's really looked very good. especially with clutter buck out Surprised he's playing his as well as he has. But I mean that's a veteran guy right. They're going to do whatever berry tells them. The do dow coal again played less games history assists Martin. He was out a little bit with injury. Scott three points one goal and two assists coup knuckle and now he has a bunch of less games played. He was injured there for awhile. He's come on pretty strong as as of late as well. Six points three goals three assists dopson three points. He's only played about eight games or so over the stretch here. He's scored toward his. NHL is first goal in the NHL. And he's got three points that one goal and two assists and Johnston. He's only played a bunch of games names as well but two points one goal cysts. So it's thirty eight goals thirty eight you know. And that's my math is right. It's it's hard to you know Kinda try to weed through all the different game notes and all the stats on the NFL website. But by my count. Thirty eight goals at just unacceptable You can't can't continue to win these one goal games and We're GONNA talk about exactly how they can remedy that here. Moving forward powerplays been pretty stagnant. The last first few games before the break here they did score a couple of power play goals which is good to see but they they keep deferring the puck back to the point Very little action down loan one in front the ones that they have been successful. They've moved the puck through the slot area and down low or even behind the net But they always seem that just defer back to the point and they let these point shots go that they're shooting right into blocked. Lanes shots are blocked causing turnovers. And how many times do do you hear Brendan and Bucci say that the puck goes high and door wide. I mean if you're a betting man you could probably venture to say that ninety nine percent of the shots they take they take any at all going to be blocked and that's just either trying too hard or you know being a little too slow on their decision making But I WANNA see that improve here when they come back from the break. We are a month from the trade deadline. Basically and we've been saying here this whole entire season so far you are that you know it's time to maybe address. Some of the needs of the team you had berry say at the end of last year he needed a a little more pop up front. If there was going to be anything in what had lou give him gave him every way to a new contract Nelson came back on a new. The contract Lee came back on a new contract and they swapped out PHILP four broussard. Who isn't what they wanted him to be? But not a terrible replacement. I guess you can kind of argue maybe not Arthur staple had a really good article here last week with awesome potential trade targets especially with the pellet being out with torn Achilles for the rest of the regular season. You could see him. Try to bolster the back end with That somebody with term. Who knows you know we have? Thomas is down in bridgeport. He's still injured. I believe so he would be one of the first call ups. I mean we did see our Ho- get called up and do the bridgeport shuffle without making any appearances in the NHL aside from his practice time with the team So we definitely need a first line wing. We need third line center and some of the names that Arthur brought up We're Ilya Kovalchuk Melker Karlsson. Trevor Lewis. Chris Kreider Kreider which is probably never going to happen. You're not going to see the rangers and the Islanders Hook up on a trade Connor Sheree from Buffalo Tyler. Ennis from the sends. Then you've got some other guys that are are F as like Andreas Athens see you from the wings. Kevin the blank from sharks Andy Green his name mentioned. Jj Patio which which that's a risk. He's playing first line. Minutes up there and auto honor struggling team. Would he come in to this Organization with this coaching staff and find the same success with more limited minutes on the third line. You never know. He's also in a contract year so it's curious to see what's going to happen there. I'm not saying he wouldn't help. He would definitely help tyler. Toffoli from the King's Craig Smith from the prides Brenden Dillon was his name was brought up there for another defenseman and then we go to the next page here. I got players with term like Kyle Palmer from New Jersey Andrei case from the Ducks Brandon. Saad from Chicago Alec Martinez from the Kings. I think that would be a really good fit Nick Bonino from the prides and Travis Ajax who Elliott Friedman in his thirty one thoughts last week supposedly XLII the islanders could be one of the teams that inquired about him and He declines to be traded at this time he wants to stick it out. New Jersey annoys. Close the Games played in that organization and to be honest with you. I don't really think he'd be a good fit on the island especially with his cap hit. He's more year left. So if anybody anybody is going to be brought into the team it would be a guy like Andreas ethnicities speedy player. He's doing decent on a really bad wings team as we saw a couple weeks ago or last week. I don't remember when exactly when the island is trounced them and put up a snowman So I mean remains to be seen. The reality of the situation is Lou. Lamoriello has not made a trade and over six hundred days. I know if you follow me and also Jeff Capellini on twitter. You'll you'll we'll see he constantly puts out the the amount of days that have transpired since the last time. Lose me to hockey trade and it's easy to say from this side you know now what needs to be done but you don't really know from the GM side if he's tried to do things if he's struggling to do things you know or or teams are just trying to get way too much out of the islanders in in order to help them improve. So I mean we don't really know that's part of the lore of the whole Lamour Carello way of hockey. You don't really know anything until it's going to happen. And you see some of the people who cover the sport Andrew Gross and Arthur staple and steep has said on his podcast that it's a little frustrating at times because they don't really get much to write about. Sometimes you know outside of the interviews with the players fire so it's it's kind of like a crazy thing there you know you genuinely feel though that the the lack of tinkering is hindering this team. You even even have a reluctance when they do bring up somebody who could potentially help from bridgeport. That player doesn't necessarily draw in. It's absolutely necessary. And if they do.

"michael sherline" Discussed on The Isles Faithful Podcast

"The Isles Faithful. PODCAST I'm your host as always Michael Sherline and this is episode number. Forty number forty seems like yesterday that we just started this last summer but here we are at episode forty. Today is Saturday November Twenty Third Twenty nineteen and that. We have a little bit talk about since Monday don't we. It's been a really fun week. Even the islanders only played two games between episodes that we recorded here and honestly everything has been very fun. It's a little hard to wrap your mind around when you think about it with all the records streaks and everything else and I promise you I am not going to add. Add the word streak into this title. Two episodes in a row is enough of that. We already know what they're doing and we're going to go into it and again I have have written down a whole bunch of stuff on my notebook here. Another couple of pages. I'm going to try to keep this episode under an hour and twenty minutes because I get a little long winded sometimes when I have a guest but you guys seem to enjoy that and I promise we will continue to have a guest regularly. Clearly I have a couple of things still in the works here. I am not going to name any names until they're nailed down. But I promise you you're going to enjoy the next couple of episodes with with guests but now that I am. I'm back to a regular recording schedule. I want to try to get a longer episode out early in the week and then a shorter thirty to forty minute episode Inbetween Games Just to kind of catch up and and talk about some of the things that have transpired. So let's get into it shelley. Obviously the the big news or the big talking points right now are going to be this islanders streak the point streak creek a franchise record point streak that they recently set on Thursday For the first time in islanders history they have recorded points in sixteen. Straight Games We are we or the islanders are fifteen own one in their last sixteen games With thirty one of thirty two possible points that is pretty darn good is it. Not they have won all sorts of different ways Come from behind a couple a couple of times which I'll go into a minute Eric Horneck on the NY skinny blog had so many different things to choose from to talk about today. I can honestly make an episode of all the hard work that he does. If you don't follow him on twitter you should you should also file his blog and everything that he writes on the new orlands website as well but just crazy amount of things. Here it's hard to kind of focus. We have rock Nelson as the overtime hero We talked about in episode thirty nine with Mike Tracy. This week that you know going into the game on Tuesday against Pittsburgh Berg. He hadn't scored and ten games here. We are after the last two against Pittsburgh. He has three goals into games. And like I said I wasn't really worried about brock. Because he he was shooting the puck a whole bunch in. And that's usually a good sign for me of a player who might not really be contributing points wise. But he's still doing the right things on the ice so I mean I know. He's streaky. Player as Anthony Beauvilliers but rock has two game winning overtime. Goals in back to back games. Eric Horneck Brought up in his blog that brock Nelson is in overtime hero. He's got to overtime winning goals in back to back games the second on Thursday coming in his five hundred. NHL Game All as a New York. Islander that's pretty darn good if I do not say so myself which I just did The only other fired a record three overtime goals besides Brock Nelson in a season is John Varas and Vars did that two times. He had three goals in twenty e. Eleven twenty ten twenty eleven and four in the two thousand fourteen two thousand fifteen season but hopefully brock can surpass him and we can kind of a race number ninety one there from the record books. Obviously as we talked about the team has broken a franchise record with their current aren't streak and the former fifteen game point streak in New York islanders history or nineteen seventy eight seventy nine nine hundred eighty nine hundred eighty one and nineteen eighty one. Eighty two two of those years. You obviously know were cup winning seasons. I'M NOT SAYING THE NEW YORK. Islanders can win the Cup this year. I mean any team can win the Cup right. It look at Saint Louis. They fired their coach early in the season they were doing terrible. Come from behind storm through the rest of the League the second half of the season and ultimately win the Stanley Cup. Anything can happen. This is the parody in this league is ridiculous and I mean you talk about parity already while we're on that subject the capitals are still I in the metro as much as the islanders have been winning here. What seems like every game? The last time like we spoke spoke about last episode. The islanders lost regulation was October eleventh at just insane. So you never know per Erik Horneck Nelson is the first player in islanders history to record ot winners in consecutive games. So that's another little bit of record setting things here. The aisles record of sixteen eighteen three and one is the most wins and points. The aisles have ever had three twenty games some other. Notables and this is a mixture of stuff from air cornick and Arthur staple on twitter order fourteen. Three and three in seventy six seventy seven which they also did again in seventy eight seventy nine. They're fourteen five in one. Eighty seven eighty eighty eight fourteen six. Oh in twenty fourteen twenty fifteen and twelve four and four in eighty one eighty two so obviously there are some good with teams. They're the they're in their own great company with this season of fifteen on one. I loved to see this magic continue. It's been so fun to watch. I mean a little stressful stressful at times with how. They've had to come back which they seem to do. Almost every game that they are Mormons the last time that aside from last year if if opponent scores I you're like it's fine. Everything's fine islanders are GonNa do what they do. They're gonNA come back. They're going to play strong. They might come out a little slow. Hello especially that Tuesday game earlier this week and the game against Philly on Saturday last weekend but you know teams can play good with elite. League teams can also play good when they're behind. It doesn't really matter. The islanders have done both And it's remarkable. I think that like Mike and I had talked about an episode thirty nine again. This is the type of hockey that you need to be able to play if you WANNA play deep into the playoffs through May and into June June if it goes out for so I love it the NHL also put out a fun graphic post game on Thursday and they had had A bunch of fantastic stats on there as well that I tweeted out. Did you know that the islanders have had seventeen different goalscorers during this streak of sixteen games with points. Eleven different players have had a game winning goal. They've had three multiple comeback wins and nine. Total Comeback Wins. This streak would not be possible without in from long island information like that but without play like that it could be be a completely different thing if they would have lost those one goal games we would be at the bottom of the standings if they didn't really pull out these winds so it's important to bank points surly and the islanders have I believe Arthur staple had said or somebody maybe was on any NHL network radio that the islanders at this point having banked so many points in and you know having the record that they they do can go five hundred for the rest of the season and still be on pace to have ninety five points which should be good enough to make the playoffs. Obviously we don't want to go in as a wildcard in the eighth seed there but this is why it's so important to win games early. The aisles have also finally gotten the attention of a lot of people throughout the league. And not just here in the United States this kind of happening north of the border as well they are at the top or near the top of every power ranking that I have seen over the last couple holidays now this is good and bad. Obviously we want the attention. The islanders deserve the attention. And you know the media attention but with that comes a little bit of scrutiny. Now obviously the rest of the teams in the League. No what the islanders are not gonNA take them lightly. I'm sure it's at the top of all bulletin boards. You know during the practice meetings and pre-game skates and everything like that. You just look at what Pittsburgh did for Barzel on Tuesday by keeping them off the scoresheet and they were double covering him most of the game. He Act- actually got benched for that turnover. That led to a goal on Tuesday. So you're GONNA look at these next three games in California and they're going to obviously be keen to some of the guys who found success. Did you also see Robin Bin. Liner was quoted yesterday afternoon saying he watches most of the Islanders Games and obviously he has a lot of friends on the team. But when was the last time you saw are you saw you saw a former player of a organization take up so much interest in the current one. Once he's gone that's kind of remarkable. It's pretty cool to see such a great guy character guy who's been hot lately to Anthony Beauvilliers four straight games. The goal or at least a goal he had the two games. They're backed backward scored two goals last week Going into the weekend to love to see it. He's just riding this hot streak. That whole line of I think I saw it says the. BNB Line Vo Bracken Actually Brock Nelson would be the end. I digress but brock's got three goals in two games after being goal is in the last ten previous of to Pittsburgh Games. Obviously like we said the two overtime winners which is huge bazaar points in the last. Five Barzel has three assists Thursday like I previously mentioned again. He was held off the scoresheet against Pittsburgh on Tuesday but he's the islanders unders hottest goalscorer and leading the islanders in points with twenty and brock Nelson. Right underneath him there at number two with nineteen this. This is a great time to hit the road. The team has been reported being so close the last two seasons. Obviously this group has been together by and large complete with a couple of editions in Varma love and dark brisard. Obviously with some of the kids that have come into the line of two with Auto Koya villa everybody else that has gone out there and the injuries here but this is a really good time. They hit the road they are going to continue to just grow. Closer for in road gives them time to kind of really spend time away from home. They're going to have a bunch of team dinners and gluttony and enjoy the sights. It's over there in California which is fantastic. If you've never been to California I've been a couple of cities now not for hockey. Obviously but I always love going California. Only the weather is just fantastic. And you know it's been pretty cold here in New York so they're going to enjoy that west coast life there for a couple of days on this west coast trip as I refer to my notes here again. They're going to start tonight. Saturday in San Jose two games at ten thirty eastern Monday in Anaheim at ten P. M. Eastern in La on Wednesday at ten thirty eastern. which is Thanksgiving Eve? They return home Saturday..

"michael sherline" Discussed on The Isles Faithful Podcast

"The Isles. Faithful podcast with your host. Michael Shirley Line. Welcome back to the Isles Faithful. PODCAST I'm your host says always Michael Sherline and this. This is episode number thirty eight today is what is today. Wednesday Tuesday Tuesday October. Twenty ninth the week of Halloween scary very still brock Tober. He got one more game in joining me this week. Is Dan Saracini. You know him from Lighthouse Hockey. He has had some amazing using stories that he written over had written over there over the years. He also has a fantastic islanders. PODCAST himself which you know as is island raising Zaidi and we're GONNA talk about a couple of other new things. He's got going on over at Lighthouse hockey as we move into this episode. So Dan what's up. I much Mike how are you. I'm doing pretty well. It's a very strange having all these weird breaks so early in the season without islander's hockey. You know it's like like they tease you by giving you a little. Then they give you a little more than they take it away and then we're GONNA have three games in four nights again. It is weird I I don't know how schedule's like this get made but you know it in a way. It's Kinda cool 'cause I I feel like the islanders. Don't mind the practice time. And Uh if they come out of this break the way they came out of the last break though they should be pretty good As long as they don't get to the how what was their break. How long was there breaking In the playoffs wasn't it was almost like two weeks. Wasn't it was like ten days or something like that. It was like ten or eleven days or something that doesn't happen again. They'll be all right. Bud Light four days I guess is probably okay. Four days is fine. Gives them a chance to work on the power play and the penalty kill which has looked much better which will also get into with the ridiculous calls for or lack thereof. I think we should say But Yeah I mean obviously this year has gone pretty much the way that last year went. I mean maybe a little bit better of start We had Varma love and somebody Kinda told me they cringe every time. I would say that wrong. So I feel like Andrew Gross sometimes with the way that I mispronounced names but Varma has looked fantastic He had a couple of games where he struggled the little bit. But he's Kinda settled in grace's looked fantastic as well and You know they get. They're getting the defense. They're getting the goals in some aspects. I I think they look a little better here right out of the gate than they did last season. Oh Yeah for sure I mean it took them twenty games last year. I would say to to kind of start to not even not even embody what has come to be known. Barry Trots Islander's hockey but just to kind of look cohesive hockey team had some pretty bad games and I remember a couple of them. trots looked pretty exasperated. You know that kind of look like and we went over this. Why is this happening And they you know whatever ever points they got. Were almost kinda stolen by either grace or Robin Leonard who also was actually mostly Greis in October until lender started kind of getting in the act in November. But you now this season It's funny you mentioned Andrew Roses podcast but on on Arthur stapler mark parishes podcast Peres said something really interesting this kind of stuck with me. which is that you know in the first part of the game? I part of the season you just trying to collect wins like even the players are just sorta like you know it's GonNa take us a while to get into this until we get into a rhythm and so the fact that the islanders are picking up points is basically kind of what they want to do and the fact that over the last couple of games. They've looked like themselves From last year is probably pretty encouraging raging. I mean they were phenomenal against Philli For the most part and they were really really good against Would they play before In the they played really well and I totally forgot. Ah But yeah they they look at Phoenix Arizona. They look really really good against Arizona They they had them kind of running out of the building winging until the third period SOA now they've looked and then they played Ottawa the next night and look really good in there to all. That game was kind of a circus. Oh the fact that they look more or less like they look are supposed to look is pretty encouraging. And we're not even out of October you. It's fantastic to see. I mean there's been times already where I've been excited sighted to like sit through the entire game where there hasn't been like a stretch for more than five or ten minutes were like. Oh God here we go. You know in early on like like maybe the first week of the season like over the first couple of games you saw that but yet then you also saw glimmer of what eventually they would become here eight games or however many games into the season eleven games into the season so I think we really need to discuss right out of the gate is the seven wins in a row. And how that's the longest win streak for the islanders since one thousand nine hundred nine. I can't believe that I had I. I can't even believe I mean I. I know they've been pretty bad for the better part of two decades Dow. But you know that's crazy to me because I remember the beginning of the two thousand and one two thousand two season where they went eleven one in one in their first. You know whenever that is thirteen games I guess at no point. Did they win seven in a row at that and yet so that's pretty wild and it's funny in Reading Eric Cornicks stats. You know he did mention that As like the last time they really had a start like do not start. Start but a stretch like this and these sixteen points that they have is the highs total through eleven sin in the Cup or in the Post Cup era he said but then you also went on to say that you know the twenty points that you just mentioned were the only other time but it was an eleven consecutive wins. Yeah that's pretty wild and again Berry Trots said today. He's like we haven't even played our best and I'm just like we said yesterday on Monday and I'm just like man he gets like he just gets it you know. It's it's amazing that this team has won seven in a row and he's like yeah. We could do a little bit better better than this this. Okay sure I'll take. What is what is this feeling that I'm feeling right now and I was nodding as you were saying that Anna and now it's crazy it's crazy but and the the players I think? Say too like they all they all kind of Echo. What Berry says so yeah? It's it's been really cool and it's good to see and yeah a couple of those early winds might have been a little bit sloppy but I mean everybody kind of plays those games basically and so now you know you're trying to get running a shape and again like we said right off the top having that extra practice time is probably pretty cool because you know a lot of teams probably wish they had had that kind of that kind of practice time in the islanders got it and they wanNA use it so not only that they're at home here for you know most of these first eleven games. I mean. They had the little tiny road trip that they went on to Winnipeg but then they were in Columbus they were back. You know this way on towards the East Coast And then they've been back at home and they don't play at the Barclays. I don't think until I think was a Friday is the first year Barclay's Yeah for sure idea definitely November Our Friday's game on November first Friday. So Yeah Yeah they've done all this at the Coliseum and then go to the Barclays for a little while in the back of the kind of do it in chunks. Though I mean I don't even really WanNa talk about attendance Eh but I will say you know an and you didn't get a chance to listen to grossest podcast and they him in Jim bombeck went into that a a little bit with Some of the struggles that they they went through. And you know so far this year and then there's been you know the Sunday night games. Don't typically draw. Ah Very well I mean I know for me like we were just talking about. I have a long way to go and yes I do. I work on our way from home so she could. I spend the night at like my dad's who lives right by the calcium shirt. But it's a night away from my fans idols from the kids and you look at all these other people especially especially if it was a Barclays night. Seven o'clock in Brooklyn when all these people have to go to work. The kids have to go to school. I know for me getting back in one hour from the Barclays even even. I'm not getting to bed until after midnight by the time the train rolls in so. That's a tough thing to do. And then you have the Columbus Day where traditionally again not a very a good draw yes. The schools are closed but a lot of people have to work. I had to work as much as I work for. A school was working while I was sitting at home watching the game. Yes yeah yeah and it's funny. I talked about this with With Jeff Kelly the last episode which was like two weeks ago now. That's why the schedule. I'm sorry guys I know you want as much content as you could possibly get but we do have lives. You were sick. People get sick and I. That's true too I I did. I was not feeling well and And Yeah I I took literally like I up until yesterday I was still sniffling and sneezing and everything so almost two weeks weeks of being down. But you have all these people who who don't get off traditionally and and who's still have a lot of stuff going on so I I kind of understand in a sense. The reluctance to maybe dragged a family to a game on top of the fact that ticket prices are kind of ridiculous across the League. I mean you're even seeing gate drops ops in Canada and this is supposed to be candidates sport so You know I it. Just it's Mike Leave off and I talked about this on Ireland anxiety the day and we kind of have to like deal with the fact that this is the way it. It's and it's kind of always going to be that way..

"Daddy. What are you doing? We're recording a podcast. He's listening islander fans are listening. Where are they the right here? Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael sherline. Hello and welcome back to the isles faithful podcast. I am your host Michael sherline as always. And this is episode number. Thirty five today is Sunday may fifth Cinco de mayo. Normally we would be celebrating on this glorious taco day or a Mexican fiesta day. But today. We're a little sad. At least. I'm a little said, I'm sure most of you guys out there in islanders nation. The aisles faithful nation are also a little said because we're obviously still reeling from being swept by the Carolina Hurricanes who knew at the beginning of the playoffs that the New York Islanders would sweep the Pittsburgh Penguins. And then ultimately face the buzzsaw of Carolina. But here we were we went through a ten day stretch. Or we like, I always make that mistake. They as in the New York Islanders and company would go through a ten day stretch of inactivity, some practices and everything which we've spoken about. And Carolina went seven games with Washington only had a couple of days rests. We obviously know where that went and we'll get into that in a little while as well. But came off that sweep. Islanders looked good and games. One and two didn't really look so great and game strain for what could have been. But what's not? And again, we'll get into that in a little bit. I wanna start off this episode. I have a lot of stuff written down here. I don't wanna be accused of not preparing things all that much. And I don't have a lot of statistical information here because it's not really what the episodes going to be about just wanted to get a few key points down. Get some discussion going. We'll talk a little bit on Twitter, maybe will fire up the discord channel. Again, it gets you guys involved in that way to here. I know there's just there's a lot of people who wanna say a lot of things. And if you follow along on Twitter, it's just been insane. I know aisles read it has also been insane. Some of the boards like Linders main are islander mania and h f boards. Just lots of awesome discussion will touch on some of those things. And then maybe we'll have a two part thing here once break-up day happens tomorrow. So first things first, congratulations. Go out to Brendan Burke for being nominated for bets. Best sports play by play some others. That were in that group were Mike Breen of MSG network's Ian eagle of. Yes. Network's Michael Kay. Who's that guy? Michael kay. I have no idea who he is. Right jeeze. Also, obviously have. Yes networks and Ryan ru Oko of. Yes. Network's as well. So congratulations, all those guys. I don't know who ultimately won. I'm sure we'll see some of that here in the next day or so. But again, congratulations to Brendan Burke. Thank you for doing everything that you do you are a godsend to the New York. Islanders fan base and Emma. She networks you're so good at what you do. And I told you earlier this year via Twitter that you had big shoes to fill once you came in filling in for how he rose or replacing Howie rose. And you've outgrown them ready as evident by all of the games that you've been. Asked to call for NBC and some of the other. Networks across the nation here in on the national stage show. It's good to see you get the recognition you deserve. We love you as honor fans, obviously. And can't wait to hear you. Call a game soon. Another little thing. I wanted to talk about is Jack Foley, and you know, him as super Jack I had his mom and Jack on a couple episodes ago. Jack Foley, and they are going to be in a walk for the children's heart foundation. It's known as congenital heart walk it. Sometime this month in may here, I think towards the end of the month and they're raising money for their team. So their current totals up at three hundred and twenty five dollars if you can go, and you could donate that would be great. I set up a little short link, obviously. So that if you're listening to this it's easy to pop it in your phone. It'll also be in the show notes. I'll throw it up on Twitter as well. But if you wanna donate to the cause you can go to bit B, I T dot L Y forward. Slash super Jack. That's B IT dot L Y slash super, Jack. So head over there donate if you can let's get them to their goal. I believe it's twelve hundred dollars thirteen hundred dollars something like that. So let's surpassed that goal Jackson superkid. Obviously if you don't know at this point keys, the little boy who had the sign for Robin Lener at the Toronto game. The last game of the season at the calcium got to meet, Robin. Leonard got to be Thomas Christ. Some of the other players wanna believing there to goalie sticks autographed and a bunch of other things as well. So good to see that. I met up with him a couple times during the playoffs, and his is awesome. Mom. Lauren miss you guys. Can't wait to see you again soon. I know he's got some really fun things going the summer for him with the Matt

"On besides. Known expecting them to really do what they're doing as much as the islanders weren't expected to do what they're doing. This is the first time. They've made the postseason since two thousand eight two thousand nine. So you've got all these years for them coming out their fan base is just as rabid as ours. You saw them the last game of the season when they were the second to last game is the season when they secured a playoff spot. How raucous they were. And it's good for the NHL. This is a good up. It's the first time that these two teams are matching up in the postseason and this hour rival rivalries are built, and that's good for the aisles meet up group down there. You know, might get a little harder to get tickets here. The more Carolina and the islanders find success. But no, you guys have your own ticket rep down there. And I'm happy that. This is. Happening. I it's it's fun for hockey. It's it's fun for us as fans it's fun to talk about here on the podcast and about that. You know, you've got other podcasts here all over the place. You know that we have tons of island podcasts. There's a bunch of Carolina Hurricanes podcasts as well. And next week. I'm going to be popping on a section three twenty eight podcast. It's going to be pretty exciting. I know I'm looking forward to talking about islander's hockey to some of the Carolina fans out there and vice versa. I'm sure that they're gonna pop on the isles faith, lots on point is well during the series, so. Just keep in mind. Obviously guys, I know fans can get a little crazy from time to time in. I'm not gonna tell you how to act just try to treat everybody with a little respect. We don't wanna be over the top. And. Sending death threats like some of their fan bases. Such just a bad. Look, and look it is just hockey. Right. It's it's fun to talk about it's fun to have heated conversations, just be respectful. That's all I ask. I I know I don't really like reading stuff like that. Kinda turns me off a little bit. And it's just a game. You know, we are fans of one of the greatest games in the world. And yeah, everybody has their own opinion. You have the right to your opinion as much as I have mine. I know I'm in a little different position. Because you're listening to mine you don't necessarily have to agree with mine either. That's cool. Just let's just be respectful. That's all I ask. I brought up the islanders meet up groups before and aisles meet up. Charlotte ahead posted this awesome. Little info graphic about where to watch with the rest of the aisles meet up groups around the country for game one of the second round of the playoffs. "Daddy. What are you doing? We're recording a podcast. He's listening islander fans are listening. Where are they the right here? Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael sherline. Welcome back to the isles fateful podcast. I am your host as always Michael Shirley line. And this is episode number thirty four the preview of tonight's match up in Brooklyn against the Carolina Hurricanes who knew a bunch of months ago that it was going to come down to this a bunch of jerks against the bunch of greasy. Curse words, thanks for that, Sean Avery. But here we are right. Lots to go over lots of fun and exciting things to talk about. We've got an interesting match up in a young speedy team in Carolina. That's not supposed to be there. We have a young defensively minded team in the New York. Islanders also not supposed to be here with the islanders also have home ice for the second time. Now. This postseason again, something we didn't really expect. I'm going to apologize. If the sounds any different than it. Normally does I'm not recording my normal occasion or on the microphone I record at at home. But I got it sounding as good as I could. I wanted to get something out this morning. I thought it was important. So. We're going to Brooklyn tonight. I'm gonna be in attendance. I'm going to be there on Sunday as well. That game the other night against the Washington Capitals. Some fifty hours ago I thought that game if it didn't end in the second overtime. It would have still been going on when I woke up for work yesterday morning at four AM, but alas it ended on that amazing pass from Justin Williams, Mr. game seven. I think he leads the NHL in game seven points now from that mistaken. I think I heard on the radio the other morning, but. Some keys to the game tonight in Brooklyn. I think we got a goaltending duel of up here. We have Robin Leonard on one side Puma Razek on the other two goaltenders who has been spoken about here on numerous podcasts and different websites over the last day. Or so two goaltenders didn't seem that anybody really wanted in the postseason last year in free agency, I should say but during the playoffs we have lender who's four no one hundred and thirty saves one hundred thirty six shots against. So he's got six goals against a one point four seven goals against average and a nine fifty six save percentage. The islanders had fourteen goals. Four six goals against Razek was foreign three in the postseason. Obviously numbers are going to be a little more skewed because of the games played. But he had a hundred seventy saves and one hundred eighty nine shots against nineteen goals against. Two fifty three goals against eight ninety nine save percentage in one shutout Carolina had twenty one goals for twenty goals against so pretty interesting match up. I think this series is gonna come down to defense and goaltending obviously. And if the islanders can keep the younger speedy forwards of Carolina at bay. Maybe do what Washington did against Dougie Hamilton and kinda hammer him and them Rene's dyke. I think they will find some success there. The real keys we're going to be on the power play. Just like it would have been against Washington. Just like it was against Pittsburgh, obviously, the the forward depth for Carolina is a lot different than it is against Washington. It's a lot different than it was against Pittsburgh. But I think if the islanders stick to their game plan, obviously. There's a good chance of finding success in the series the one factor. I think is a big big thing for either team. There's only one team in this postseason that can look to the coach and know that he wants Stanley Cup the year prior. And that's not Dallas. That's not the avalanche. That's not the sharks. It's not even Boston. It's not Columbus. Although there are other teams that have coaches at one Stanley Cups in the past. But Barry trots is the only coach currently in the postseason who won the Stanley Cup last year. Think about that for a minute. I've been talking about this all year long. That's crazy. I I didn't think that. It would have come into play history wise. But the NHL has a nice little Stanley Cup preview thing here. And there was some interesting notes on the islanders.

Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael Sherlock. Welcome back to the isles faithful podcast. I am your host as always Michael sherline. And this is episode number thirty three the sweep addition of the playoffs on the heels of the islanders completely shutting the Pittsburgh Penguins down and advancing to the second round for the first time while the second time really in the last three years, but very special guest laughing in the background right now. Somebody you guys love somebody. I love he was on the show earlier this season. I'm talking about Mark Parrish. Mark. What's up? Not a whole lot in the middle of playoff hockey, watching the islanders sweet my buddy collie, and I loved it. Don't tell him. I said that that was awesome. I should've waited a few more episodes to episode thirty seven you can always come back. You let me know. We'll just make it just everything about number. Thirty seven are favored guy here. Mr presences. I introduced you the last time. Only because I was too slow to keep up with Bates you anywhere else. Speaking of Bates, how about that little odd to him at the call Sam less Friday how how was that? You know as hockey players never dry all brought a tear to buy that was just awesome that moments. You know, obviously Bates will be part of Ireland or lower forever from that one moment in that's those. That's exactly what you dream for as a player just to be part of something like that. Of course, we wanted to be Stanley Cup. But at the same time, you never know when that when the time when that moment might present himself present itself, and he took advantage of it. And what can I say I love that Boston? Boy. You know once islander always an islander. It doesn't matter whether you play your entire career here or you play bits and pieces of one season. Only do one great thing. It doesn't really matter. You're always going to be endured islander fans and always remembered as you know, very well yourself do and I can't thank that offense. Still in yourself. Everybody for the support. I still get for crying out loud. Boy, we were a long ways away from HD when I watched the videos of us in out to probably good thing is I probably would have got called goalie interference back then. But the game was different. But man, I can't thank you guys enough. It's. I honestly feel like an honorary New Yorker through this midwestern slow talk in boys. It's pretty special something I will hold near dear to my heart forever. I I love every second of it in every chance you get to be around islander's hockey is great. And I know since the last time we've spoken you're now an analyst on any channel network for everybody out there who can catch Mark stuff from time to time. I know he he tends to give us all heads up when he's going to be on. And it's awesome. The see you up there on the national stage. I I love it. It's it's the best excuse ever to tell my wife. I've got to do my homework and watch every game sweetheart and can't you know, it's not just the islanders was not just the wild year. Minnesota. I gotta watch every hockey game. It's it's my job. Now, the grace excuse just to watch hockey, which is probably why she posted the picture of you the other day in your crocs loves and stick watching. I just I I would love to kind of. Oh, I would love to watch every gimmick. But I just got brand new gloves. There was a charity gain the next day. I was kinda wanna see oh, they feel good break him in a little bit sneaky wifey. I would've taken the crocs off by not to take a picture, dude. Come on, they're comfortable. All right. I love crocs wearing the same pair right now. Look at least they weren't. If you're wearing eggs. I think everyone would have given you more of a hard time. Those those are only during the season because when the back starts getting sore socks suck. So you just throw to go to the practice. Mets. It another that nobody ever sees those. I always kinda felt a little bit kinda like my wife on those. You know, what my brother-in-law wears them all the time. And they look like construction boots almost when he's got his pants over them. But I still make sure buses chops. That's 'cause you love him. I mean, he's okay. If he's listening doubt he is. But he's okay. He's a cop. So I mean, you got a return. I love man. He's a good guy. He's a good guy. He he's he's a nerd. That's why we love him. So we all are absolutely certain different things. We're all nerds. I gonna give me going game of thrones not watched. And if we go down that road. This is going to be the least listened to episode. I'm sure.

"Daddy. What are you doing? We're recording a podcast. He's listening islander fans are listening. Where are they the right here? Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael sherline. Hello and welcome back to the isles faithful podcast. I'm your host as always Michael sherline. And this is episode number. Thirty two today is Sunday April fourteenth twenty nineteen. And this is the playoff addition as you could tell by my raspy voice. I'm sure the rest of you who attended games one and two at NASA. Calcium raw raucous NASA. Calcium sound pretty much the same ways. May I got my little side kick right here. So FIA my daughter who you always hear in the intro. She's over here watching her ipad. So if you hear some noise from time to time that's just her so say, hi. Say hi. She's ready to go for some play of hockey. She got to experience her first game at Nassau Coliseum against buffalo. Couple of weeks back. She had a great time. I don't know if some of you saw the pictures I posted on Twitter everything, but she loved it. She had been to the Coliseum with us the last week of the season. So she got the seat close out. She was only one at the time. She doesn't remember. But what about these near islanders? Unbelievable to nothing lead really really really bringing it to Pittsburgh the fact that they shut Crosby and Malkin down Crosby only has three shots. I believe Malcolm looked really frustrated the other day love it. Love the intensity is nothing in the world like playoff hockey, there really isn't. So you have guys now stepping up. We saw Ebola really bringing it to the last week of the season bringing it into the playoffs. He's got two goals into a sec- leads all islanders points. Josh bay. Early. Two goals looks amazing. Then you have map bars. L a relative unknown here for the playoffs. He's really bringing it that line of Eber lay Barzel and Lee just is fantastic. Brock Nelson, really getting it done. I know there's a lot of you out there who are nervous about that. And the season that he's been having. But it looks like it's just continuing into the off season of that off season. Listen to me it's continuing into the playoffs. And I'm really really liking everything that I'm seeing from pretty much everybody on the team, but unbelievable storylines here with Robin letter and everything that he dealt with in the off season and the support that he's been given by the team and fans to hear that the chance for him. Amazing. I just love it. He needs to be signed. I know again, some of you out there may disagree. But he's proved at this point that he deserves a contract, especially here on the island. I wanna. See him stick around. What else? Do we have? We've got so many things to talk about a little bit of rough play the end of game two on Friday night. I'm sure that's going to continue to to this afternoon here at noon in Pittsburgh. Just gotta continue to sty stifled play. You gotta just continue to do all the things that you're doing berry trots said really great things. He's got them executing the game plan down to a T pretty much. Just perfection. You had all these people wanting Pittsburgh or having Pittsburgh coming in and steamrolling the islanders and to go into Pittsburg with a to nothing lead in the series is just so key. And you know, you have to expect Pittsburgh to bring it a little harder this afternoon in their home rink. So you just stay out of the box. If you do take penalties you keep doing those defensive things that they've been doing and good things will happen. What else? Do we have the talk about? Just the Josh Bailey chant section three twenty nine is really brought it everybody chimed in the whole entire arena was saying it on Wednesday night. And again on Friday was the coolest playoff experience for me. I think in my entire life. I've never experienced fourteen thousand people chanting in unison for for one player. It was fantastic. I mean, I'm sure the Shawn Bates penalty shot. Everybody was chanting then to Shawn Bates. Shawn Bates who Friday was in attendance. And there was a really cool moment. The crowd had given him. And he seemed to really enjoy that as well. I I love it. I love everything about the playoffs. I love everything. I can't say it enough. I've had the smile on my face relaxed two days or three days, really unbelievable. We have to talk

"Daddy. What are you doing? We're recording a podcast. He's listening islander fans are listening. Where are they the right here? Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael sherline. Welcome back to the isles faithful podcast. I am your host Michael sherline as always. And this is episode thirty one joining me this week is or this episode. I should say is Roger loose of WB a be Long Island Roger has gone through. Thank you. Good gun. Thanks. I was making fun of myself for fallen asleep in the abyss of my daughters. Sorry about that. As not not a good look for me. No. That's quite. All right. You know? It's funny. I said to my wife, you know, we had to reschedule it. I said to my wife, I said Michael fell asleep at his daughter's veggie started laughing I go I know when on my daughter's younger, they're twenty five and twenty three now. But when they were younger used to read to them at night, and I had this similar schedule and at seven thirty eight o'clock at night, I'd be reading a book lane and one of those little, you know, the kids beds that are like a little low the ground little sparks daughters were really young at the time. And I would does off while maybe like daddy open your eyes, and like sometimes I have memorized the books because we're the same over and over. And so I could actually read them with my eyes closed, but then I fall asleep. So that's not good. No. And I always tell my wife too. I feel like my daughter's bed is way more comfortable in ours. And we just bought a mattress. But I hate it. As leap number, bro. Sleep number bed. You know, I'm gonna let her as the best. I'm gonna let her listen to this because I've really pushing for one of those, but she's dead set against it. So whatever four years, it's amazing. Wow. I'll have full full full disclosure, I endorse it on BB. So I'm just saying, but but it's honest let me we found sitting on right now. We've had four years. It's great. I will again, let her listen to this. She's she's only listened to one episode in. That was the episode. I posted this morning with the super Jack. I don't know if you've got a chance to to see all that. Awesome stuff with the islanders did for him with the meeting mentioned on Twitter Twitter. Oh, and I saw the picture. Yes. Of him meeting, Robin. Yeah. That was pretty cool. I was great. It's awesome. And just he was on any NHL. Now this afternoon with his mom. So he was EJ Radic and everything, and it was it was pretty cool. It's good things. They're doing a walk in may also then a Minna totally get behind and try to get some rallying things. For them. Good. So obviously, I wanted to have you on for your ties to the New York Islanders, and for those that don't know you're listening of Roger is or has been the longtime voice in the arena that you would hear for penalties for goals for everything else. He's got a pretty unique experience in that. So I'm gonna kick over to him. And he's gonna let us know how long he's oh just go to ice goal. Nice. Sorry. Yes, we did. There's like a weird delay over on my end. But yes, I just saw that you gotta like two three seconds after I did. Yes. See I have a maybe we have a little bed with over here in his is labata. You know, what it is? It takes a really long time for those packets to get all the way out to east Hampton, right? Oh is that where you are? Yes. Oh my God. No wonder is three like three seconds delayed. Yeah. Yeah. That's it. Speed of light. Sorry. That was just a nice a nice pass. Nice goal. That was all so. Yeah, it's been been doing it since ninety eight and actually then we were up in the press row at the Coliseum. The first two seasons. I announced from up next to the organist and really far away from the office officials, and that's just the way it normally was and then kinda got around the NHL about putting the guy the announcer down in between the penalty boxes at man at is the best job ever just that switch made the job. Just so great. You know, it's already good. But made a great to be have the best eaten house. I sit actually on the red light and has nothing better than that being able to see the POC going toward the goalie knowing going in before even sees it. That's the angle that we have, you know, it's pretty cool. So I've loved talking I was a kid. So having this job is it's pretty amazing. So I'm very fortunate to be where I am. And I don't do as many games I used to. Because my schedule, but the games I get to do I love to do. So I'm hoping to do a playoff game here. And there, you know, I don't deserve to many. Honestly, I didn't do that many games this year. But Alex does a great job, and he deserves all of them. But if I get a game at the Coliseum I'd be thrilled. And then after that you can have as many as he wants.

"Daddy. What are you doing? We're recording a podcast. He's listening islander fans are listening. Where are they the right here? Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael sherline. Welcome back to the isles faithful podcast. I am your host as always Michael sherline. And this is episode number thirty. I cannot believe it episode number thirty already today is Wednesday April third twenty nineteen in. Joining me. This episode is the best little man around super Jack Foley, Jack, Michael Foley. I have to introduce them the correct way and his awesome mother. Loren Loren has gone. Good. Thanks. How are you Mike? I'm doing really really really well. I'm still riding the high of what we experienced the other night. I think we all are believable story if you guys out there are not aware of Jack story, I'm never gonna really going to be able to do this Justice, but a little bit of background. He made a fantastic sign. He survived, you know, three early open heart surgeries in his young life here. And he approached Robin lenna really on social media saying, you know, he checked off a bunch of different boxes. He actually plays hockey himself and requested stick the islanders and Robin. Saw it they made it happen. The other night we have a little bit of fate involved in our story, which will get into. But I'm gonna kick it over to Lauren and wanted you explain, you know, pretty much everything else for our listeners. Okay. So a little bit of background about Jack's condition. He has what is called hypoplastic left heart syndrome. H L H S for short. We found out at our twenty sonogram that there was definitely something wrong with his heart. But basically hypoplastic left heart syndrome is the absence of the left side of the heart the left ventricle. So essentially Jack was born with literally only half of a functioning heart and in order for him to survive we needed to embark on a series of three open heart surgeries. But what was very troublesome to my husband. And I was that from the start. There was really no doctor out there that was giving us hope everybody told us that you know, if your child survived that was that was always how they started every sentence if your child survive if you're trying to Mayes, and we obviously were very scared. And there was only one doctor one out of all of them who gave us hope, and that's Jack's cardiologists, Dr Shawn left. Chunk who's also a huge hockey fan. And he believes that there was hope and because of him we decided against other doctors suggestions, and we continued with our pregnancy and Jack was born on April twenty fifth of two thousand eleven he had his first open heart surgery, four days later, and from that point on Jack literally did every single thing. The doctor said he never would as a matter of fact, when he was discharged from the Nick, you we were told to expect at least three to four months in the hospital after surgery, Jack was discharged twelve days later that just show you right from the start what a fighter this kid was. And we were also told that he would absolutely come home on a feeding tube. He never did that. And one of the nurses had said, you know, this in my thirty two years of being a nurse. I've never discharged a baby with H L h s that did not go home on a feeding tube. So in thirty two years, she never saw that before. But are Jack did it. So even like I said from playing hockey and any kind of sport the doctor's always said he's going to tire before everybody. He's you know, he's gonna he's gonna come in last. He's you know, he's not gonna be able to play sports. You might want to have him get involved in maybe music or something like that. Because he's not going to be able to to do sports. And here he is playing hockey at odds how a park at north well rank and just proven the mole wrong as Jack said the best rink there in it is, you know, believe it or not I have not played their yet. I've been invited to play. They're a couple times, but living all the way out east 'cause I live on the east end a Long Island. It's it's tough for me to get you know, that far west I actually play at like the rinks and Kings Park and Dix hills the furthest rank west that I play it. So well, you're going to have to come out and play with Jack. And you're missing, I know I'm sorry, man. You know, what we will make a plan where we get on the ice together. I think that would be really really fun, and we'll get into that in a minute. So now, this is a departure from what I normally do. And I know a lot of guys out there like, well, what's this got to do with islander hockey? And it has a lot to do with it. Like, I mentioned previously, you know, super jackpot a stick from Robin, Leonard. He also got a stick from Thomas Greis, and Jack why don't you tell us a little bit about what you experienced? And why you wanted Robbins stick in particular? This is why wanted Robin winters stick. It was state guys. He'd been through law in hockey and in my life. I have to. One. Pretty much. What was it like to to meet him and get that big old hug that we saw the picture there?

"Daddy. What are you doing? We're recording a podcast. He's listening islander fans are listening. Where are they the right here? Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael sherline. Welcome back to the isles faithful podcast. I am your host as always Michael Shirley line. And this episode twenty nine twenty nine the number twenty nine Brock Nelson today is Saturday March thirtieth twenty nineteen and today's the day that the islanders could clinch a postseason berth for the first time in three seasons. Pretty exciting. We play buffalo couldn't have worked out any better. Hopefully, it's not going to be one of those clunkers of game where Buffalo's gonna come out and spank us. They have nothing to play for. They're just trying to finish out their season some guys playing for contracts. They're still pretty dangerous team. Obviously, they have some some scoring depth. And you never know what's going to happen. Hopefully, the islanders come out and seal the deal this afternoon or the evening rather. I ll actually be. Attendance tonight. Now that I'm home from vacation I convinced my wife that we should go because it's a pretty important game. How about that game the other night? That was fantastic wasn't it. I know I yelled like lunatic from the couch. I woke up half the house at ten o'clock ten thirty at night there came from behind to win was unexpected there in Winnipeg was a great game didn't start very well. I know I tweeted some stupid things early in the night one of which I deleted. I had said season's over that. I know that's not really like me. I was just frustrated. But they came from behind biggest game of the season. Probably the best forty minutes of hockey. We seem them play in quite some time. Why was away in Florida? I missed a couple of games the islanders. Had a shutout, Robin. Leonard looked fantastic over the weekend on Sunday against what was that. That was gonna Arizona's a nice quick team too. So it was a good effort around that the islanders had three doughnuts. Unfortunately, which not very good. But you know, again this team has shown its struggled to score times. They may be stingy defensively. But when there's some kinks in the armor. You know, you never know what's going to happen if they can't score especially on the power play. There is a great article the other day on the athletic that said this is prior to the game the other night where they want and Winnipeg because they did score power play goal. But the aisles were seven for sixty seven on the power places, February I seven for sixty seven that's ridiculous. You cannot have that. And I know I have blasted the power play here on the Ostrava podcast the entire season. And I it's something that still to this day. It really bothers me a couple of games ago. The islanders started having two guys below the goal line. It looked like an inverted umbrella. I had said which is the complete opposite of what an umbrella should be should have the play typically would be three guys high and two guys down low towards the slot area. You have the bumper. You have the guy out in front of the net. It looks like. An umbrella. If you look at it on a diagram, but it was like an upside down. Knbr Ella that got blown down the street. Bad. I don't understand the logic there. I mean, they wanna go east west I guess to to move the puck around and they're in a safer spot. Because they'll the coverage is going to be out front, but it just plays into the fact of they're just moving around the perimeter. And I've I've brought this up to Arthur staple. Even last episode episode twenty eight I said teams are going to be content with the islanders passing around the perimeter of the whole entire play. Go ahead you wanna shoot from non-dangerous angles. Low scoring angles. Be my guest we're going to clog the center of the ice pass it around. We're gonna block pass because we know you're gonna pass back out to the point. And we're going to block shots. We're gonna clog lanes, but we didn't see that the other night they manage to get the puck to the front of the net. Andres Lee tip that point shot. Boom power-play goal. It was a five on three. We saw them fail. How many times over the last couple of games against philli? I believe we had to five on threes. If I'm not mistaken. So. So good to see them finally finally go, and then the article went on to say through seventy seven games lenders powerplays operating just fourteen point five percent, which ranks twenty ninth in the league. Only Nashville Montreal had less success at converting chances in play situations. The islanders of generated offense at a rate of eighty eight point four five shot attempts per sixty which also ranks twenty ninth in the league ahead of only Detroit and Ottawa. So you look at stuff like that and all the fancy stats, and they're not nearly generating the shots that they should if they are they're not getting through or like I had previously mentioned there from low dangerous scoring areas. And we've seen that over the last couple of games where they'd be shooting from wide out on the wing. The goaltender is going to be over there hug in the post or not going east and west in the front through the Royal roads. So to speak there in the slot area. So we've seen some changes. Barry trots is implemented here down the stretch. And. Seemed to work the other night against Winnipeg Winnipeg is a very tough team to play against their one of the powerhouses in the west. They were favored prior to the trade deadline to be a Cup contender out in the west. They're they're just big shrunk bodies. And I know buffalo and has been hurt which if he was in the lineup the other night, it might have been a different story. They're late game. But how about that play by Anthony Bo villa he talks under a check? And you know, the the Winnipeg coach talked about this in the post game. It was a breakdown defensively. But what he didn't really mention was the fact that Beauvilliers got under the check and the player who went to go and hit him was dazed Villier gets the puck rims it around. And that's when I believe that this is goal or the the first ever legal or the whatever it was. It was the game tying goal or whatever. The momentum swing was there. I don't remember off the top of my head. But without Anthony Beauvilliers making that play smartly to get under and. Accepting the Pat not the past. But getting the puck for the turnover that whole play was contingent on his little move there. So that was fantastic to see he might not have chipped in on the scoresheet really so to speak, and I know everyone's been kind of hammering him. He's very streaky. But it was it was good to see some some hard work in the islanders worked hard the whole entire game. Speakeasies? Zeke's the twentieth of the season for him. How amazing is that? I had joked a couple of days ago on Twitter. I think what we should do as a fan base is now for the remaining four five games you're throughout the season or the rest of the season every goal. He gets over twenty should be the amount that we as fans donate to charity of his choice. So let's make that happen. We'll get that trending. Hopefully, we can get that done. I think it would be pretty cool. He's having a banner year. And if you really think about it, he from tencent purposes is going to be buried trots new Tom Wilson, he may not be the dirty player that Tom Wilson is. And I know nobody's really going to like to hear this. But Tom Wilson minus the dirtiness is a hell of a hockey player. He's the type of guy you hate to play against. But if he was on your team aside from the fact that he hurts you in certain situations, both physically and. You know on the roster with spot that he keeps getting suspended. He's really turned Casey's game around in Casey's been the type of guy who's an energy guy. Maybe not utilized the right way under previous regimes. But I'm happy to see him finally break out and have the year that he is. He is looked great. I've said this all year, the skating, he has come around. He's always been a great skater. But he looks like he's healthy. He's doing really well. He's got that dad. Strength like Bailey. I guess you can say same for clutter buck and Martin those three. Oh, my God all year back to the way that they were the bash brothers the best fourth line in hockey. I'm just so happy. They go out there. They get things done. They make their opponents have a tough time. Banging bodies good on the four. Check get in their cost turnovers. Really just set the tone for the rest of the guys March to the beat their drum. That's what you need especially coming down the stretch here and into the playoffs you need those energy guy. Is to kind of go out there and be the metronome if you're making music, you know, you set the tone based on them. So we should call them the metronome. Which I have turned off right now as recording, thankfully because you guys would be annoyed. So what else can you say? Obviously we've struggled. They've caused us some stress here every day it's up and it's down it's up and it's down it's up and it's down. But the islanders for all intents and purposes, like we've said all year, they have not lost more than three games in regulation. They may have a clunker too. But they bounce back. They always respond. I don't know what Barry tends to say to them behind closed doors, but they come out, and they respond, and we need that type of response today. We did have that big win the other night and Winnipeg but tonight is one of the most important games for them. They control their own destiny for once. How many times over the last couple of seasons? Have the islanders had to rely on the schedules of other teams around them or teams in the west or teams that are out of it to do their during work for them tonight. It's the first time in. A long time. I think since like two thousand two or two thousand three that the islanders can come out on their own terms on home ice back at the Coliseum and secure a playoff spot on home ice on their own terms. That is just huge. And that is testament to the job that Barry trots done here. I know I'm happy. That's why I decided to buy tickets last minute the other night. I wanna see this person the costumes going to be off the charts. Loud. Again, maybe not as loud as it was against Toronto. And you know, who's here on Monday. That's right, April first Toronto Gionta Vars is coming back. And you know, what I'm going to be there for that game as well. I've like waited all year long for these big games. It's really hard for me to get there. It just seems the opportunities here late season have been popping up for me to attend. And I'm going to jump at them here, especially moving into the playoffs because I have not missed a home islanders playoff game since two thousand to two thousand three so we're talking what? Fifteen years of playoff hockey, I've been there for and even before that. So I'm excited you could obviously tell by the tone of my voice, I'm coming off the high of AK shin. We had a great time. I really wanted to record earlier in the week. I just could not have the time to get it done on. Fortunately, obviously work comes first, and I've been busy because I missed a couple of days there. So here we are. We're gonna continue to roll on the islanders. Meet up groups are just growing ridiculous. This one in Boston. Now believe there was one that popped up in queens or something those guys continue to have awesome, events and tailgates. I believe there's going to be one down in Tampa tonight. If I'm not mistaken there our or was it the other night. It was last Sunday. I got invited down there. I was so close guys. But so far away. I just could not drive two hours up the Tampa much as I wanted. Plus we went to the Yankee game as well. So I wouldn't have been able to make it. We went the Yankees twins Yankees. Had a nice five three win over the twins. Both my kids. Got baseball's Tyler Austin on the twins former Yankee through my stepson, a baseball. And then Luke Voight saw my little girl over there by the wall pointed at my stepson gave him the ball and said, you make sure you give it to him. So that was cool too. They both loved that. We had good opening baseball for New York. The other day we had the Mets win. We had the Yankees win against Baltimore looks like it's going to be a fun baseball season for both New York teams. But that's not why you're listening to the podcast. But guess what? Spring baseball means only one thing playoff hockey. And that's why I'm excited about it. All this is like the best time of year for sports. He got the

"Daddy. What are you doing? We're recording a podcast. He's listening islander fans are listening. Where are they the right here? Welcome to the isles fateful podcast with your host, Michael sherline. Welcome back to the isles faithful podcast. I'm your host as always Michael sherline. In this episode. Twenty eight today is March eighteenth twenty nineteen in joined once again joining me once again is Arthur staple of the athletic, art. How's it going? I'm good might you do. Well, like, I was talking to you a minute ago heading out on vacation tomorrow. So I'm looking forward to that wanted to get another podcast out before we shuffled off. So here we are. I'm liking what I'm seeing from the team the last couple of games. I'm sure that you've been pretty happy had some good positive things right about. Yeah. You know, it's I think just over the last week. It's it's not it's not always the prettiest. But but I think when you you drill down a little bit. They're they're generating scoring chances for sure it's you know, it's the time of year where goalies are playing a little bit better. Other teams are doing what the islanders have done for most the are which is kind of clogged the shooting lanes and box people out in and there's a little there's extra effort, especially from the teams they've been facing. I think the maybe the most important thing for the islanders is past week was it'd be Columbus. Who's trying to get into the playoffs. They'd be Montreal also trying to get in the playoffs. Lose a game that Detroit they definitely shouldn't have lost anyone else in Detroit is one of the three worst seems in the league. And then maybe beat a team in Minnesota that they probably shouldn't have. But again another team that's desperately trying to get in the playoffs. So that's you know, that's that's a good sign for the islanders at they're able to raise their level against teams. Are probably more desperate than they are. It's human nature the Anders in a little bit more of a comfortable position. Even other not nothing is secure yet. But but yeah, definitely some encouraging signs from the past week that maybe it slipped a little bit over the previous couple of weeks. We'll go into goaltending. A little more in depth in a minute. I have a obviously a couple of questions primed and ready to go here. I wanted to really focus on, you know, their mentality and the way that like you just mentioned they've been a little comfortable because the islanders over the past couple of seasons haven't really been afforded, the luxury of being comfortable, or at least playing with the fact that they're I in the metro and were I in the metro for almost what almost two months, right? So this is this is kind of like uncharted territory for a lot of the team in a lot. I'm sure has to do with obviously the defensive play of you know, the Barry trots is installed the clutch goaltending. Because when was the last time the islanders had two goaltenders playing. Out of their minds like Tom Thomas, Grayson, Robin, Leonard have so I wanted to talk a little about Barry trots, and how important it is for a guy like him to come in especially going deep into the playoffs. The last couple of years with the capitals and ultimately winning a Stanley Cup. So has he been priming the islanders here for the last couple of months, and maybe like showing them that they need is much as they need to play hard for the whole season. For long stretches have has he been showing them that it's important to maybe hold off a little bit and to pace themselves for the stretch run. I don't know about that. I think I think the message from him and certainly message from inside the rumors that there's no, you know, it's ten points them and being out of the playoffs. Now, just ten games to go looks pretty good. But that's kinda the way it was for the last three weeks or so, and they're just you know, I think he recognizes the seem. Not is not built on enough skill to be able to turn it on and off whenever they need to. And they obviously learned that lesson over kind of the blast second part of February beginning March, they had you know, they're they're built on will and determination working together. And all that other stuff that you hear lots of coaches talk about, but you know, to be honest, even us look years in the past the fourteen fifteen fifteen sixteen teams had enough firepower to do that, you know, they they both kinda faltered down the stretch. But those were hundred point teams that you know, pretty securely made the playoffs took to the last weekend. In fifteen sixteen took a little before that, and then you know, the disappointing last game of the year with lost home ice. But those were those are solid playoff teams with high-scoring guys and enough enough skilled overcome a dreary night. This is not that kind of team in. I think Barry trots recognized that early on. And you know, I think in researching the long. Said did about him when he got eight hundred wins talking to some guys from his very first team in Nashville NS, you guys who played further long in those in that in those Nashville days, then guys in Washington when he comes in. He's prepared. He's determined. He said, you know, the you set the standard from from very early on. This is the way we're gonna play have you don't wanna do it. You can let me know. Now, you'll let me know by how you contribute and will move on from you. So I think I think maybe this this team looked lot more like those Nashville teams that were very very, you know, filled with third line guys in third pair defensemen from everybody else's scrap heap, but but managed to compete every night because of the way that he he set them up, and I think you know, this team with the low expectations that everybody had for them. You know, I think they were they were craving someone to come in and put that discipline that structure in a lot of veteran guys who know how to play that way. You know, it's it's just worked. But I think also, you know, it's natural have a few few stretches of mediocrity in there or not being able to compete as hard as you can. But I think this last week like we said, and you know, this next couple of weeks coming up important for them because there's no pace themselves with this group. You know, you start to slip a little bit you drop down the standings, you end up not getting home ice you end up. Maybe getting a division winner. Instead of being a division winner your shells. So yeah, I don't I think the message has been pretty consistent that nobody takes their foot off the pedal with this group. I maybe should've re phrase my question, it may be a little different. But I'm glad to hear that it seems that everybody's on the same page. They they are really buying into the system. It seems in you know, when they stick to the structure and they stick to the game plan, and they play island or hockey, which is funny because Barry is adopted what some of the previous coaches have been. Saying at least over the course of the time that I covered the team but islander's hockey. So it's good to see now Casey's Ezekiel how injured is he
