"He's got it. Touchdown. Bearcats. Alec pierce. So if you can imagine a Michael Pittman and his contested catch kind of capability and Alec pierce now a deep threat backing defense is off a little bit of Jonathan Taylor. He might be even better this year. So who knows? Well, Chris, now you're right in our Wheelhouse here. I mean, you're talking the wide receiver position and we have witnessed a massive re rating of the top, both in free agency. I'm talking to Monte Adams, Tyree kill, cop, AGB you name it, as well as the draft, right? I mean, we had a lot of wide receivers go in the first round. And so my question for you is with all this money that's getting paid to the wide receiver position. What does this mean for teams for general managers looking to build a champion? Yeah, it has me calling my agent and asking, do I have any potential of a comeback at all? Whenever they're making $40 million a year now it's insane. But I think it is exactly where the league is going. And even more so this year because it hasn't been talked about a whole lot yet, but the league is going to really crack down on illegal contact penalties this year. And the reason is that scoring has been moving downwards. Just ever so little, but a little bit. And one of the great breakthroughs that happened as far as you can look historically that when scoring really started to take off is when they really put that illegal contact play in, bump and run coverage was lessening the scoring around the league. So now they're going to really crack down on it and they make no bones about it. They send out a memo the other day. The reason we're doing this is we want more points scored to the National Football League. So now with devonte moving on to the Raiders with tyreek going to Miami and we're starting to see this influx of incredible town. I mean, think about the guys that are in the game these days and 6 foot three way 225 pounds and run four three 5 and all the insanity and you can't go up and play bump and run coverage against them. You're going to see some points scored and you're going to see the passing game be even bigger and more prevalent in what has been so far this year. So it's exciting times for the league and for wide receivers. So there's this need or this push to get higher scores in each of the games. Is that to generate excitement to make it more engaging for the viewer? How much of it is tied to the popularity, the growing popularity of sports betting? Well, like I always tell my kids if you don't know the answer to something and you answer money, you're going to be right 99 points. I don't know what the other one tenth of 1% might be. But yeah, it's all the above. And I don't think it's directly tied to gambling, but I think if you're gambling legally now, which we can all officially talk about at this point in time and certainly at TF athletes do a lot of talks about gambling and our new app that came out. So we're excited about that too. But yeah, I think that the overall excitement of the game and what differentiates it is are the skill positions, these great quarterbacks, the ability of the receivers to make incredible plays with these gloves that are made out of flypaper or something these days. I would have liked to have played one game with the plus on, but that's a whole other story there. But yeah, I think that we're seeing now what the fans want, clearly, are more points, more great plays, more games that end like the Kansas City buffalo game last year where whoever took the field last was going to win the football game and move on in the playoffs. So yes, that's what sells. No question about it. It's what the fans want. I want to talk about you, PFF, that because I think you just kicked it off the year before last year when we talked to you. If I got the app right, how has it been going recently? We actually, we were working on it last year when we talked. And it has just kicked off and I'm probably going to get in trouble for doing this because this is supposed to be our soft launch where they make sure nothing breaks down and they make sure that there's wrong. So I'm going to come on your show and we'll have $10 million check it out. Don't worry, I won't tell anybody, man. Okay. But yeah, it's just PFF and so now it's news, it's all the fantasy news and information you need, but more importantly, direct link to betting information and you can actually connect back to bed MGM and go make bets that you may want. "That should have been a category. I'm staying away from that team team. I think the car, I feel the same way about the cardinals. I don't want to bet on them. I don't want anyone on their fan. I just want to pretend they're not happening. Put them over in a corner. Craig, who do you have? Clyde Edwards. I hate myself for it, but I'm bad. You're bad. You're back on CH. You're three. I've done it every year. I'm not giving up yet. The second I read that the cheese are gonna opt for like a more power run offensive scheme. I was like the Michael Corleone godfather three move. It's like, damn you've changed. I'm back. You know, we should have done with Clyde Edwards to layer. We couldn't even make an acronym out of his name. That should have been our first sign that it might not have worked out for him. He doesn't really roll off the tongue. All right, next category is I wouldn't take him even if he was free guy. I'm just going to do it. It's a podcast. Let's make some noise. McCaffrey's not on my team. I'm Jesus not. He's played ten games up two years. I don't think he could stay in the field and he's not on my team. I have crossed him off my list. He's not in my draft board. I've told my scouts and everyone in my war room, we're not drafting him. He is a D and D do not draft. This is how the patriots number one draft too. Look at all the best players like AJ Brown, not on our board. I love high Fitz lab shots at the Patriots, like he's rooting for this amazing juggernaut of a drafting tape. You painted like the last 7 giant straps? Well, I hated the saquon fic and that you were out here just like trying to defend it for I'm still in. I'm still defending it. You caught me at a bad day with pat straps because we waved Devin assassin a couple days after waving. Our two third round tight ends that were so bad. We then had to overpay hunter Henry and Johnny Smith to make up for these two other third rounders. Anyway, it's kind of like the pitcher spot all these clothes after they got dumped and then like a couple months later you're like, man, these don't work for me. It's really bad. The last 6 years were tough from a job standpoint. Who do you have for wouldn't take them if you were free? So I probably would take it for free, but for me, it's Josh Jacobs, like for the Raiders. I just can't, there's no point in the draft he falls where I'm just like, when he had 250 carers a year, Josh Jacobs made nobody happy. And then now he's going into a Josh McDaniels timeshare where there's just no way he's going to make anyone happy. I would take him if he was literally free. The person I literally wouldn't take if they were unwavering is Kenny gallaudet. I wouldn't take him on my fantasy. Yeah, that's not fair. He doesn't count. He's going to get away with two damage. He's already pretty much free at this point. I got Darren Waller. Dan walking. I'm not walking away. He hasn't played all pre season he's been hurt. There's contract situations, devonta Adams is there. I don't love the Vegas offense in general this year and I don't need Darren Waller in the second or so. He's like fake hurt. I think he's waiting for his money to get his holding in. Yeah, that team definitely needs to spend more money on offense and ignore the lines in the defense. That was the wave leatherwood today. I couldn't believe it. I mean, if you just stack up all the John Gruden draft picks and you're like, every first rounder was a miss. It makes me feel better about the drafts. Who do you have DK? Well, I had gallaudet. He's trending towards being free anyway. That doesn't count. The other person I wrote down here is Michael Hardman. I'm just not falling for it again. The opposite of the Corleone. They're not sucking me back in with this equal Hardman thing. I refuse. That could have been a category, Craig. Michael Corleone? No, the you showed up at my door again. Batting your eyelashes at me and I'm not letting you in this time. That's my Cole Hardman. Somehow, we've all had him. He's been in the league three years. I feel like he's been on everybody's team. I've never been seduced. Oh my God. None of us took Zeke Elliott, which I think is an absolute outrage. I had him written down too. All right, high fits. Who's your somebody's got to get points on that team? Talk yourself into him guy. Craig mentioned him earlier. I mean, Michael Pittman for the cults, I mean, Michael Pittman literally has more receiving yards in his career than all the other culture receivers on the roster. Also, Michael Pittman played in the NFL for two seasons. And yet somehow that's true. They have nobody else. Who do you have, Craig? Christian Kirk on the Jags. Oh no. Who else is catching passes on this team? There's Evan engram. At tight end. The other receivers are Marvin Jones and zay Jones. He's the new Brandon cooks. I'm going to pay it right now. He will be the new Brandon cooks. You'll get a thousand yards every year with Trevor Lawrence and nobody will care about him. DK? I'm going to go with Wanda Robinson, rookie receiver for the Giants. Okay. Here's the deal. I'm nervous to get excited about a guy who's like 5 890 pounds. Or whatever. Like I got too excited about Ronda bor last year. You should learn from this. I should learn from my mistakes. I'm just not going to do it because the Giants don't have anyone else right now. They got Kenny gallaudet, who we've talked about. They have canaris Tony, who is, he plays once a week. The most chaotic player in the NFL maybe. We just don't know if he's going to play any given week. Starting shepherd coming off an Achilles, Colin Johnson, who was probably going to take over for Kenny holiday, tore his Achilles. The Rookie tight end, Bellinger, who Craig, San Diego state alone, Bellinger, he just got a concussion I don't think he's going to be playing week one. Who's going to be catching passes for the scene? They drafted him in the second round. Ostensibly with the plan. So I'm going with Wanda Robinson. I really like that one. I debated one day for my shameless Homer pick. Yeah. That's a great one. I can't believe I'm picking forth in this category that none of you took my guy.

"Is the tyreek hill being 12? How much of that is, again, this is dynasty. So we're looking three, four years out. How much is that? That he's 28 years old and how much is that that he came from potentially the best quarterback in the league to a little bit of the unknown with the new offense. And a big part of it too for me is I'm a big fan of Jalen waddle. I had him 5 in my rankings. He had a 104 catches, I believe, this past season set The Rookie record, right? Right. He already has that established connection with tua, are we just going to assume that Tyreke is going to come in and take that from him just because they paid him a lot of money? Just because the front office made that move doesn't mean that they're going to click like that and I don't think you can deny that the talent and the chemistry that Jalen waddle had with I agree. So I still have them as a wider shape for one of my rankings because he's a hell of a wide receiver because he's tyreek hill baby. He's got the game breaking speed that nobody else has. He's one of one type guy. So I'm still willing to take him as a wide receiver one. It's just a few question marks that have crept up that push them towards the back end of the wide receiver one rankings that he probably hasn't been right there and 5 6 years. He spread at the top for a long time. So awesome. My last question before we jump over to Ryan is your 1415 Michael Pittman junior, Terry McLaren, both extremely talented, receivers, does their quarterback play potentially scare you or does the fact that in Pittman's case that he has Ryan, is that part of the reason he might even be higher than some people have. Yeah, I don't know that it's too much higher than the people have him ranked right now.

"And I thought that it was cool. Jonathan Taylor, the colts running back wants to win a championship. He talks about it. He's like, I didn't win him in high school in college, this kind of my last opportunity to do that. And I just think that the big takeaway here from cold hard knocks is I'm realizing how much I really like the colts organization, whether it be Jim air or say kind of crazy, but also invested owner who does genuinely care and want to win. And I think he'd be a good owner to play for it because he supports you. He's got your back. He's got a cool personality. He's not overbearing and crazy. He wants to help you guys win if he can. The colts GM Chris Ballard is amazing. Head coach Frank Reich is I like him as well. I mean, there's a lot to like in indie. And my buddy Brett Coleman has these really cool sweatshirts. So he's got like Brett Coleman makes you sweatshirts where they've got like a play design. And I'm like, I don't have a favorite team, so I'm like, I want to buy a sweatshirt from Brett to wear. But he makes them very specifically tailored to football fans of certain teams. I saw he made a Jess and fields bears one, right? I'm not a bears fan. I don't want to wear a Brett Coleman. Chicago Bears sweatshirt, but I'm like, well, what team could I buy a sweatshirt for to support? I kind of came down. I'm like, well, the colts or the Carolina Panthers because I like what the colts are doing. I support them. I like their organization. I would wear a cold sweatshirt. That'd be kind of cool. I'd be like, yeah, I like the colts. I like what they got going on. And I do legitimately I like them. I find myself reading them. I hope that Jonathan Taylor can win that Super Bowl. That would be awesome. And I want the colts to turn into a thing. I want to see them succeed. I really do. I would be so happy if the colts who, man, I think they need a left tackle, they need to figure that out permanently. Michael Pittman, they're junior, the receivers really turning into a big threat, offensively. Jonathan Taylor might be the best running back in the league. I think the colts, but they're doing and building, especially making that trade for cars. And when it's like, I want to see the colts become a thing. I want to see them win a Super Bowl. That'd be fantastic. And I'm like, which sweatshirt I'm gonna buy from Bret Coleman, Carolina or the colts? Right now, it's a hard decision because I like both of them. I like what they got going on. And hard knocks, colts is it's fun, man. It's interesting. I like it. And I think that this is the best iteration of hard knocks. We've seen in a long long time. It's gotten boring. It's gotten mundane. It's gotten really pretty meaningless during training camp. So to have it happening during the regular season, I can report it's good. It's fairly interesting. It's more interesting than I thought it would be and I came in various skeptical. And it'll be fun to talk about it as a week. Go on, what we learn and see behind the scenes with this colds organization. As they try to make a playoff push in front of a national audience on.

"And as Jenny rentas pointed out in her weekly Tuesday column, Jeffrey Simmons does lead the league in quarterback pressures among interior defenders one more than Aaron Donald at this point. But gosh, I was just, I was so young and. I just felt so just felt so good during that during that prediction there last summer. Just a different time in our lives. I don't need to remember it. I sounded quite ill back then. You did, yeah, I was gonna say, what contested? Glad that you're feeling healthy now. I don't sound like that all the time, right? No. Okay, good. No, you have the usual nasally high pitch voice, but you also happen to have a summer goal at that point. Don't get me wrong, your voice is super annoying, but it wasn't as bad as it was back then. I do have to give Connor a nod because that conversation was set up by Connor picking Simmons as his best non quarterback player in the AFC south. But this week, when we saw the Titans beat the rams in Los Angeles and it was a performance totally led by the defense. Simmons looked largely unblockable in the game. It was a great time for us to roll out this preseason prediction. And yes, as Gary reference, pro football focus has charted Jeffrey Simmons with 42 quarterback pressures for interior the most for an interior defender of the season. One more than Aaron Donald two S 41. Good for you, Gary. Guys, get ready to remember some more because I think Connor said something this summer. So the Indianapolis Colts put together the wildest winning and losing streaks in NFL history. Frank Reich bolsters his credentials as a masterful coach by steering Indianapolis out of the doldrums following an intense bad luck laden losing streak of 5 games and steadying the colts for a playoff run. Indianapolis season is almost comically ping Pong between unseen weather situations, injuries. Don't field goals, bounce passes and other did the stadium get built on a cursed ground kind of happenings, including one very high profile instance of food poisoning at a non coastal restaurant where the idea of ordering seafood might seem iffy, regardless they emerge stronger and more dangerous than ever before. Michael Pittman junior reaches a thousand yards and the seafood poisoning at the non coastal city becomes a rallying cry later in the year. Fans bring empty shrimp casings and clamshells to games and tape them to wooden signs. It bolsters their belief in the Midwest and in beef. After first downs, they can't be beef beef. We are Indiana. We are beef and it makes the whole community feel alive again and families dying together at the table with their cell phones rotting in distant garbage cans never to return. They begin practicing mindfulness meditation at schools, and we all start to inch back towards the middle again together. The colts clinched the playoffs and a 76 yard punt return during the season finale. Oh God. I hope that part return happened so bad. Also, Michael Pittman is on pace for a thousand yard season. It's like and the food poisoning thing, as we know, it happened to the FC south star, just not a cold. It happened to AJ Brown, but I just, boy, I mean, you spent all summer just set the ouija board, like letting the spirit sort of guide you as to what was going to go on. And just a couple of miscommunications there. But otherwise, that was really close..

"I'll be able to get over and if it's a cornerback, they can't out muscle me for it. You know, so just just give it to me. And Carson's been given it to passing him the ball more and more over the last four weeks and he's he's making something out of it. So I'm hoping to see more of that going into the future as well. So especially this season it's another one of those stories where I think he's learning how to play with Michael Pittman. He's like, oh, I can throw the ball up. I can really just man launch it up and let him knock the pull the ball away from a defender. He's also learning what Molly Cox does well. And I think cold fans should be actually glad that Molly Cox is not a bigger name because then he would demand more money. So it's actually he's kind of sneaking under the radar right now, which is keeping him lower on the salary cap and I think there's so much potential there, which is going to be fantastic. I think he was an RDA last season. And so, you know, which was 63 agent restricted create restricted free agent and so that's something that's kind of funny that you mentioned that if he was a bigger name, some other team would have snagged him up. You know, and given whatever a third or a second round pick, whatever he was tagged as for the off season. So absolutely. Absolutely. I fully agree. I'm gonna play some audio for you. I'm gonna do it the jank way, like the old like where you hold up the phone and you play it in the microphone and we'll see if you can hear it. I think I gotta play it here, and then we'll see if you can hear it through there. But you corrected me with something on your show. And I saw something because you were right, by the way. You talked about something and I was like, oh, he's totally right. And then I saw something at contradicted what you said, but also contradicted a guy had said about it. He himself contradicted himself. So I'll play it and then.

"We've seen we've seen what he can do. I mean, it's USC and a lot of people like you know USC. USC doesn't necessarily coach their receivers to be NFL ready. You know what I mean? They've had that problem in the past. But Michael Pittman, as you talk about, he has this natural ability. He has like three hours of highlights of him just mawson people and catching it at USC and coming down with it turning around. And last year you didn't see that at all when Philip Rivers was at quarterback, which is weird because when he was with the Chargers, that's all you saw Philip dude was hey Williams, go get this, you know? Hey, Alan, go get this. And he didn't do that at all with Michael Pittman. I don't know if it was just because he was a rookie or if he wasn't trusting him or what. And you didn't see that a lot in the first three weeks, either. When the colt started off Owen three, you know? With with Carson Wentz. And now as the season progresses, and they've been practicing together, I think Carson Wentz is starting to realize, I've got something here with this kid. You know, he has really, really good hands, even like he's talking about I don't know if he would call all those. You know, in The Rain, in San Francisco, I mean, he was targeted taking out the PI penalties. He was targeted four times, caught all four balls for over a hundred yards and that touchdown. You know, so that's a huge benefit knowing that even under duress and under special circumstances that are going against the receiver he can still throw that ball out there, and it's not a 50. They like to call that a 50 50 ball, but when you're throwing at the Michael Pittman, it seems more like an 80, 20 ball. You know what I mean?.

But i feel like i'm very t shirt jeans national very casual very down to earth and what. I'm seeing reflected. Because even i was looking at pictures of roslyn brewer who has been a very high senior executive for vicious paul. Well that's the thing. You can't see that evolution right like all i see is the hair makeup wardrobe. Like a risk picks. And i'm like do. I need to show up like that and even like some of the senior leaders that i've worked with in seeing that are black women over the course of my career and i'm like oh i'm not that and that scares me because i'm like do i have to show up and it's sad right so that's why when you say your prime model and part of it is image wall you've got the image down on that sign. That's why i was like it's just unfortunate right. Because i do think you type of person ever since i've known you try to bring your full authentic sell after that includes your image ray and in some cases and i'm sure you'd think you know you get some reactions like whoa. Whoa okay. oh so. She just gone crown. Don't call about george floyd hell. Yeah you see these tears day. I'm keeping the scam raw. Raymond china this from coming up with her head round to work or something yes yes in on the zoom with my head wrap Sure did sure. Did i listen. And you should be able to do that. But i do. Think there's a tax. I feel attacks and that i'm trying to propel. Yeah it's like. I don't know the right answer to that. I definitely seen black women under your audience is very now who have Evolved and they feel like they have a persona or brand that they need to Portray yet yet to those executor been old senior levels. Yeah so not a you feel that. Do you feel that pressure. I don't think i'd feel that pressure as a man. I don't think we have that much pressure. That way right because you just have to put on the suit right. Well you know. Honestly i don't they gonna ever work anywhere that required a suit fan. At this point. I would never work anywhere that required a suit. Okay way but i feel like everybody got a number michael and i feel like a certain role with a certain number. You put that suit on. And you don't think i don't know i would have to be really high number but again this is like dang true to who you are knowing yourself. How do you want to come to work. And what makes them comfortable. I just don't think i would be comfortable or any type of role where the expectation where it's aiming to come every day like i think every day to snow sometimes no not not at this point right. I go and invest in nicely fitted tailored shirt. That are meant to be worn on john. I be comfortable. Yeah the other part of that model. Which is huge is exposure yet. Do you feel like us have mastered that that you understand how to get the right exposure. I think i know how to get the right exposure. Do i always know where i'm going. Sometimes you know. I just don't care about it and i think i understand the need for exposure. I wanted to be authentic and meaningful exposure as opposed to just exposure for exposure sake. So i've worked with people we worked with nubile. They're just out there trying to make sure they're showing on eighty and their name on all the projects even if they're not really super bowl and so getting a lot more exposure but it's not quality exposure died look more for quality over quantity and something that's impact on me so dry get less exposure. Yes but the exposure i get is pretty big exposure It's on big meaty projects where i'm leading it. I'm presenting it on talking about the impact of it can have on the organization inside found that to being better approach right and that approach in the right organization will well definitely play off. It's gotta be in the right or to be in the right If you listeners out there are in an organization where let's just say becky running around organization and always trying to get on half his ability partner so myself she might be in a meeting. Say this is a high visibility project. Just know that game right pete. Game that your organization where again performances already low and i think in those organizations performances even a lower bar. I think there's some rule. I don't think that ten thirty sixty percentage i don't think that holds true for every organization. I think i some organizations where. I think it's been like five. Maybe four three thing. Is you this. Make sure you make up that you did some shit like this right now because things change one thing you have those urine organization where things change a lot. It's hard to track your actual performance. If you're working on you know one thing this month another thing another month and it's just you're just trying to you know juggle balls in the air and you look back at the end of the year and you like so what did i do. I mean you tired you busy. You did a lot of powerpoint. That's how marketers tom powerpoint. Yeah that's that's that's the language right so but then at the end of the year. What have you really accomplish. So one thing i want to ask you is how do you keep track of that or do you track it like in your organization in your efficiency like 'cause i know like for you. You're very much like. I stay focused. Don't multitask that trip me. You said that. I was like you know what so wait. Do you close your email down when you're working like if you're working on a slide or slides for a project do you close your email down. I mean but it's not a i'm working on slide. Heard one thing at a time. Focus on one thing. That's the most important thing. Focus on one thing at a time. A kit that done done or get it to whatever the milestone.

"I need to see that somewhere in the organization but it doesn't always necessarily need to be in the function of the team that i'm on But i do want to see people that i think. Think that same way that i do but yet challenged me to think differently. Pushed my thinking and organizations where they embrace people with different skill sets and different personalities. So dots more. What i'm looking for. When i'd say i need somebody that i can learn from. It doesn't have to be diverse. it doesn't have to be a a male right But it is important that i feel like i'm challenged on pushed and i'm learning and so with that. There has to be elements of the discomfort by at bats. Not there not learning anything. That's fair what do you say to you know for me. I think what. I'm looking for on my journey. Is we grew. I'll look of entrepreneurship. No i don't wanna go. I think you have to know that to some people are born to be entrepreneurs released their. You're born to be entrepreneurs right on people with michael heavy without being entrepreneur. No not really. I don't know that's really what i wanted to do. I'm like i want to be you know. A high level corporate executives good. Yeah i think know you'll sell. This is the thing i like. So i remember when i was in business school. It was the summer in between my first and second year. I was on my way to my internship on the east coast and the nouncement came out. That arcelor burns was the first black woman. Ceo of a fortune. Five hundred company. And i was like yes. I can do it right because i mean i had worked for these mid size companies before business school and i always thought like oh i could. I could run this right guy. Just always i was acting. I would look at the leaders like hot like the c. suite let c. e. o.'s. And they're doing it right. Like i was real arrogant as a child as a younger junior person before i went to business school and then i got really excited because they gave me hope you know and she had natural hair and i was lying. I graduated and i started working. Jesus christ you lost all hope you know one thing. I'm really excited about is to see roslin brewer yet named Ceo walgreen. She starts mush fifteenth. Very excited about that. She is the second one. And there's always a asterix next to that because mary winston and two thousand nineteen. She's on the board of bed bath and beyond and they made her interim ceo until they found the guy that they wanted a black woman. Always clean up shit so you know. I don't count debt then to me. That doesn't count like she was on the board. She is capable yes like clearly. She's on the board like the board is the boss of the ones are really good so she just you know it's like your direct report leaves and you fill in the gap until you have somebody else. That's what she up So you know. I'm torn still right because right now. I'm in this holding pattern. And i don't know where i'm going but i know for sure that if i continue on this corporate path i have got to find an organization that sees me as future. Ceo i have got to get there. I just i have yet to get there. And it's been a struggle and i want to be honest about that with my listeners. Because you know. I had a coaching client was talking to yesterday. And we were having a great discussion and she was like. I just don't know how to get them to let me in and i was like they. It's not the organization you want to be part of right. I think that's the top. Yeah and so. That's why when you asked me earlier. What do you think is key for you to continue to move up in your career. It is finding organization bat seeds huge potential new to move multiple levels and be an executive level. Seats swing offers or whether or not you get their Right things come up. You want that right And i think we've all had you know bumps in a row. But i do think sometimes it's really challenging for Anybody but i think minorities in particular who they need to continue to go into these big organizations small corporate organizations and proved themselves. Because that's the way that we grow now by jamaican see that. I had its potential and that i can do this and i think being self aware being comfortable in your own skin. That comes with time but even myself. I've had my own struggle. We talked about this where you have to start to take that step back and say if they don't see it i know my value under my work and then that just not the organization for me. Yeah i would say the only advice i would give to. Everybody is trying to design that as fast as possible. Spencer soon as you can us added do not ignore the small signs and signals right and when you see you know he'd still think there's something there that can work to your advantage but then develop a game plan what's going to be that exit strategy right and i think you know one thing. I'm really learning is the importance of our networks. Now look at every opportunity. I've gotten eight is truly stemmed from this. School could wreck story like all through network. I can learn something from you on that one out. My what is happening. But i really one thing i tell. People and people are like a way to reach out to people. They're afraid to network. And i say win. You're in a place of okay. I have a job. i'm good. Don't stop having intention alley around networking. And what i try to do is. I'm always trying to connect people right. And i'm always trying to put pennies in that piggy bank because it some day. I'm gonna have to smash that bitch open and be like okay. Gotta go to bang right. Tackle you going to need a withdrawal research and so i'm always focused on. How can i put in. how can i put in. How can i put in and always trying to help us right like especially but also my mom's from kelley consortium alums hill. I wasn't multi. But i'm down for multi to write like so all all those people who you know there's a mission that we're trying to do and we're really trying to bring society along to the better places really meant to be outside of this craziness. That still persist.

"I started noticing that he would always make sure he would stay there before that time and he would not leave and so after i left. I quickly pulled him from the side. Said look that's not. How operate does that's not going to be good for you. you know. He would some married starting his own family. I'm like you need to make sure that you're spending time. And you have the right boundary. That's going to work for you. I could care less if you're sitting here in front of me doing work or you're doing world somewhere someplace else as long as we have open line of communication and when we need to talk we can have an avenue and we'd find a way to do that but outside of that please don't right and so i tried to open up that line of communication so that they know that they can do that and then you have to demonstrate it yourself so i always make sure that we're not stayed at then they start to see okay you serious because he doesn't respond to my notes after this time people say it's quitting time. What are you still doing here. And if i don't get up is going to be like what i'm gonna wait to pack your stuff and we're leaving right right so you have to model the behavior to so. Have you ever worked for a manager that expected response and expected you to be there. If they late at night you gonna stay there late night with or if there early in the morning you going to beat you early in the morning with them. I mean we know one incident And that is the only time that i had a situation like that But it was one of those instances where i felt like okay. This may have positive implications for me down the road from a career trajectory perspective or open up avenues. But i will say that it's once it got to the point where i felt like my life was fully out of balance and there was no way that i was going to be able to continue That's the conversation. I had right right with that leader. That leader and that leaders are team. Which was this is not gonna work right. Once i had that conversation. They pulled back a little but then they found other opportunities for me W a better fit. Oh good it actually turned out well. Because then i ended up working on a project that really tapped into Marketing expertise and other areas. Where have patching which you know around people development Are you afraid of any negative consequences. I think over time. I've learned to be less afraid of negative consequences. But i always think had a little bit of bet streak anyway or bad You mean that f you a little bit but you know when you're and associate brand manager you're bp's calling you and you just don't return their call day they're like. I was calling your at my responses and it was not sign of corporate since hours so we can talk about it today right so i've always had that But i think as you become more comfortable in your own skin and you know the value and what you bring to the table. I'm not as scared about it. And if there's some negative ramification than there is with it. And you know regrets weaker weiner on the other side and ultimately usually end up in a better break your sanity dak exactly and understand these people you dealing with like. They're not queens. Kings holy grails like that. I mean even if they were again the kings and queens name. These people with these designations they still. They still to sit on the toilet every day. Like everybody very true. That's a tip. That people need to understand the the thing that i've been seeing. Tell me what you've seen in your career. The separation between people who are ready for the next level and people who aren't are the people who don't have that fear around communicating with senior leaders. They don't have a fear of senior leaders. They don't they're not constantly thinking about like. Oh my god. I'm gonna make a mistake or whatever. They like owner mistakes. They they take risks. They try new things and that signals to the organization like oh. We have a leader because leaders. They don't necessarily this -rupt to disrupt but they disrupt with intention and with goodwill and they're trying to push the envelope for better things and so when the organization who actually wants that and they see that they realize oh. This is a leader. We have the same person who was like. I'm only giving you eighty for. That person would admire about them is. They're like you know. I have passion around this and so they told leaders. I have passion around. This is what. I want to work on this. Why it's important is how the company makes money like put it all together and that wasn't necessarily their role at the time but then though just like oh yeah and they gave Promoted right like because this is a leader. This is somebody who has shown and demonstrated that they can carry parts of the company on their own without somebody telling them what to do under percent agree. I i mean. I don't really have anything to add to that. I think you're spot on when you see somebody who's ready to step into a leader wall. It's not always waiting for somebody. Tell you what to do it. Seeing the opportunity being comfortable expressing that point of view and then trying to champion that you know michael. We're going to take a quick break to pay some bills governor do that when we come back i want to talk about how you create processes and then i have something. We're going to give our listeners that you created that. I'm so excited. So we're gonna talk about that when we get back all right so as you heard. Chris put me on blast the last episode of season four and pretty much said you go ask these people for help and you start this patriots so i started patriot on page working on additional content. Go on over to patriarch dot com slash trilling. Ba show and become patron and help us make more dope content to help us survive and thrive in corporate america. All right now. let's start to show. Okay guys i am back with the phenomenal marketing. Executive michael pittman. He is a member of my mba network. And i have learned so much from michael. One thing that i was so surprised with as you were staring some of your tips and tricks and tactics. These you have several different documents over the course of your career that you've created and i was like well obviously this and so when we were talking earlier about how you set those boundaries. I think one of the documents you've created is so key and it is an on boarding document it is somewhat drove you. Tell me the story behind like where were you. What level where you in your career you like. You know what i'm saudi. I'm let me write some shit down for.

"Oversensitive Brian Baldinger and company Cold's got stopped JAG. So now Philip Rivers and company will started their 22 moving left to right, Jonathan Taylor of alone running back and he's got the call sweep on the left side of the 25 carries his tackler all the way past the marker to get the first down in one more. Up to the 33 Yard line Rookie from Wisconsin 84 yards coming into this game needed for 1000 and Brian. He's off to a good start, right right behind the new left tackle Jared Bell during that time, who got the outside linebacker? Look Amon Chase on down on the ground, and it got Taylor into the alley. And he just carried Wilson for that first and trips to the right to receivers top left for rivers. Empty backfield works out of the gun and back to throw sense. It upfield. Little miscommunication there tried to Damn it and asked him doing one of his wide receivers that passing complete. It'll be second down and fend this 10. This is Philip Rivers 244th game in the National Football League. Is 240th consecutive start. Brett Fav, of course, has the most to 97. But Brian This'll Guy has been durable. He plays hurt, and that's why he's been around a long time. Well, he's got that durable genes, Bill. I mean, it's just there's really no answer for why he just can't keep lining up and delay. Here's Taylor cuts left at the 40 and off to the races. 50 far sideline 41 man trying to catch him at the 20. Any forces him out of bounds along the far sideline inside the 10 yard line. They're gonna market of the sixth. Jonathan Taylor just turned it outside left. How about 61 yards? He has a big cut back that time. He's going right? And then he saw the back door open, and then he hit the Jets. Just another gear and clay books just took a good angle to get him out of bounds. But That's what Jonathan Taylor didn't Wisconsin for four years there. The pride of Salem, New Jersey, Bill I mean, not many people from Salem, New Jersey, on his father raised him right and he's gonna be a good pro and he's having a great rookie season and they actually said he went out of bounds of 11. So it's first down and 10. He'll get the call again. Running right bounces off a tackle on down. He goes short game on the product played Christmas. Quite. Brooks actually saved the touchdown over 27. Starting right corner isn't on the tackle their game down to the eight yard line. Pick up a three, so it'll be second down on seven yards to go. Colts Nothing. Jaguars Nothing. Clock is ticking. We're early in the first quarter with 11 16 to go in it. Michael Pittman is back in the lineup. He's was on IR for about three games, and he's listed as a wide receiver. He's out far side left on second down in 10 rivers out of it. Got hands it off. Taylor trying to cut back left, and they got him stopped at the six yard line. Two more tough yards and that'll set up a third down and five You mentioned Michael Pittman. You know, in the second round, they have a first round pick with because they gave it up for the forest Buckner. In the second round. They picked up Michael Pittman Jr. And Jonathan Taylor. People question why draft John Taylor? They had Marlon Mack, who's coming off the 1000 yard season and thank goodness they did Marley back her earlier this year. Jonathan Taylor got kind of a slow start, but well, he's really come on here in the second half of the season on Mac Tourist Achilles in the opener against Jacksonville and Taylor is taking over hasn't been a smooth ride for him. But he's been on a group lately. Third down and 57 back to throw rivers tosses near the goal line caught See why help Touchdown colts. Hey, jammed between two defenders in the number 13 6 yards striking the culture on the board. Well, that was some drive by the Colts. I mean, just one positive play after another, but the Y Hilton It's just so experienced. He saw the opening in the zone that you talked about Bill between two defenders and Philip Rivers. Put it right on just a stick Throw And Philip Rivers still looks like he just pushes that ball, but he pushed it really fast. T y Hilton Rodrigo's Blankinship on to try the extra point. Former Georgia Bulldog snap kick is on the way and inside the left up right and good. Nice drive for the Colts as they marched downfield. So we've got 10 16 to go in the first quarter. Our.

"Tom Allen and Indiana, the head coach, said critical execution and critical moments. Is such an important element for a team to master and right. There is a critical moment you're in a two minute drive. You're trying to keep your game your team in this game. Your quarterback execute your wide receiver executes. But one of those all offensive lineman doesn't matter if all other 10 guys do perfectly one guy make miss executes and has a hold. And everybody pays the penalty. Stephen Jones, filling in at right tackle called for the whole 10 yard penalty back to the 37. Brown loading up throws right side into coverage. It's incomplete. Two receivers were in the area. Michael Pittman and the tight end hunter can't lawyer goes in, complete with 32 seconds left here in the half that looked like it. Elementary soccer scrum right there were about playing a hall. The kids get around the ball, and they just kick each other in the sins. Shin's. There were two or three receivers, all banging off each other, and defenders all banging off each other. That was not a beautifully executed, executed college football player right there. Second down in 20 coming up for the Ducks, trailing 28 to 14 32 seconds on the clock, second quarter from the Iowa State 37 yard line. Three receivers right one to the left. Steptoe Brown Brown with pressure coming throws over the middle. It is complete to Devin Williams at the 30 Yard line. He's surrounded by Io state defenders and taken down day Trone Young takes him down 25 seconds left in Oregon's going to stop the clock here. And use a time out. They have one remaining. Get back about half of the yardage that a lost they were 2nd 20. Now they're gonna be 3rd and 10. And it was Anthony Brown, looking down the barrel of a blitz. It was a seven man pressure that I was state has brought. They haven't brought a tremendous amount of pressure. They've been more content. Dropping into coverage and tightening those coverage windows and it was Anthony Brown, looking down stairs down the Blitzer that was unblocked delivers to the open receiver over the middle of the field. Let's get back half of that yard it but that the impact of that holding penalty to go now from a situation where you got touchdown put points on the board. Now you're in a situation where you're trying to survive. 13 12 now and if you can't convert here, you're limited to a field goal. Gotta look in replay it that hold on. That was that was an obvious call to make. As Stephen Jones had full grasp of the defender on the line of scrimmage, so 25 seconds to go third down in 12. Now for Anthony Brown in relief of Tyler Shuck. It was no surprise that Brown Get some time. But this'll is now his second full Syriza's on the 29 of Iowa.
