Governor Billy of Tennessee to his great credit has decided to not go in that direction. Governor Bill Lee listens to his voters. He saw it happen. Asa Hutchinson and governor Bill Lee decided to pass actually signed the bill. By the way, in Arkansas, they ended up overriding Hutchinson veto just so we're clear. The drag show Bill as some call it adds male and female impersonators to a state law on adult cabaret performances, limiting drag shows, exotic dancing, et cetera, where children are present or on public property. Governor Lee also signing a bill that bans gender transition surgery and puberty blocking medication for children in the state. This should not be controversial and I can't stand that phrase gender affirming care. I I don't get a day off here. It's okay. I'm done complaining. I'm just I'm really on edge. The left is getting really aggressive. In their push back against the Texas Pro life law. You know, the Texas people of Texas have come out. They have effectively banned abortion in the state for wonderful law. It's a Pretty effective law for right now, the Supreme Court has come out and allowed the law to go into effect. For now, while it works its way up the courts to determine the constitutionality of it. So the left is trying everything. They're trying boycotts. They're trying this that intimidation PSAs well. Now they're pulling out the big guns, folks. I think this is going to be the end of the pro life campaign in Texas. Bette Midler is threatening to withhold sex from Every man who supports this pro life law. Yes, That's right, folks. Bette Midler. A, uh A celebrity of a certain age. She has been around a while. Donald Trump famously referred to her as a washed up psycho. Bette Midler is so Dead set on making sure that more babies in Texas die that she has tweeted out quote. I suggest that all women refused to have sex with men until they are guaranteed the right to choose. By Congress. Now it's not. It's not just bed. Midler. There are other. There are other actresses who are saying this as well, including Alyssa Milano, who I had a crush on when I was but a wee lad. I'm sure a lot of us. Did she tweeted out quote. Reproductive rights are being erased. Until women have legal control over our own bodies. We just cannot risk pregnancy joined me by not having sex until we get bodily autonomy back. I'm calling for a sex strike. Pass it on this. This, uh Calls to mind. Lysistrata. This is an ancient Greek play that whole The women stopped having sex with the men until the men would stop going to war with each other. So this is this is a tried and true tactic throughout history. Of course, the The specific points that Alyssa Milano is making are ridiculous, referring for instance, to abortion as reproductive rights when abortion is the opposite of reproduction. Referring to the legal control of her own body when of course, the issue at play. An abortion is not the woman's body, but the baby's body said they got that wrong. But more than the specifics of abortion What they really get wrong is the conservative viewpoint on all of this. Concern as if we're supposed to be devastated that Bette Midler will not sleep with us and beyond even the Bette Midler of it all. Last time I checked. Conservatives are not the ones calling for promiscuous sex with everyone at any given time. Actually, The conservative point of view is that people should not just be sleeping with everyone. They see willy nilly that actually People should maybe consider I don't know, getting married, being in a committed relationship and and then giving of one's love to the other person, especially for conservative Catholics. Conservative Catholics don't even believe Catholics period. Do not believe in contraception. They won't. They won't do that. So what seems to be a threat? Or what? Bette Midler and Alyssa Milano think as a threat is actually giving conservatives what we want. We don't It's not good, and I know that some people on the left or maybe even the libertarians will call us old fuddy duddy Zor prudes or something like that. But if the me too movement has shown us anything, it's that I think the right has a much more serious, sensible view of sex. Then the left does The right does not advocate taking a little more caution with regard to sex because we don't know. Wild sex can be. It's because we do know how wild sex can be. Do you remember a few years ago? More than a few years ago Now when Mike Pence got in trouble because he wouldn't cheat on his wife? You know this was the big This is the best sex scandal they could find on Mike Pence is that he would not sleep with other women. He refused to have dinner dates alone with women if his wife were not present, or of some other staff members were not present. They said, This is awful. The anti woman Then two seconds later, you have the me too movement. Where all of these almost entirely Democrat and then we're caught harassing their staff members sleeping with their secretaries cheating on their wives and girlfriends and everybody else. How thought maybe they should follow the Mike Pence rule. Maybe then this would have resolved some of these issues. I think one of the One of the issues here. When we're talking about abortion is you'll hear the left say. Well, if you want less abortion, then you need to have more contraception. Well, if you want Less abortion, Then you need to have more. I don't know welfare programs for pregnancies for unintended pregnancies. But it misses the point. What What we're looking for is a coherent vision of what sex means. It's not just about your own pleasure. It's about The other person. It's about loving the other person. And then the product of your love is a baby. And then that baby is not a curse. Not a not, as some would say, a fatal sexually transmitted disease. It's a gift of God, that's a wonderful thing. So everyone's debating. Well, What do we do? Well, we now subsidized contraception. Do we have condoms in the schools? Do we do this to that? How about you just Have babies. How about you just get married and have babies and have a good life. Maybe you have a total vision here. And if that means that we can't have sex with Bette Midler. Soviet. I think that I I think that will be a sacrifice that people are willing to make. Thank you. Tibet. Midler. My life had changed. So for mendaciously. Where i what i was exposed to in seminary and going to rome and so forth and the struggles say had just of remaining married in them. Many of them were divorced. In fact one of the ice may said i that i Dated at one time. I was a junior going into the senior. She's inner with a husband. Ray type of thing so when i look at all those things in yes i certainly incited marriage at that time but in many ways i've grown so much because i've been asked god has stretched me and and and also as i said earlier the relationships i had with with men and women throughout you know my experiences a priest and parishes and working with staffs and he travels done so none of that would have been possible had absolutely not so making the hands of a couple of popes future saints part of it is yeah you you make sacrifices and they seem huge to make but there's really blessings that come and sometimes you don't always lit see the blessings until much later.
