"Are you, by the way? I'm so great being on set with you. I thought you were a deep fake for the longest time. For context of the global audience, I'm visiting from San Francisco, but it's been a long week, the highlight which has been the fed. Yes. And digital assets essentially did not escape the volatility that we saw across financial markets, post fed? Not at all. So you actually saw Bitcoin outperform traditional stocks a little bit on Thursday, but if you zoom out and people on Twitter will always tell you to zoom out, it's just been a brutal stretch for Bitcoin down 58%, almost 59% year to date. You compare that to the NASDAQ 100. These two tend to trade in lockstep, but the magnitude of losses in Bitcoin so much greater. The NASDAQ 100 down only only in quotes 30% or so year to date. I'm going to ask you the most 2021 question I can. Whatever happened to Bitcoin being an inflation hedge. Well, it's a bit of a tortured answer that I'm going to give you because again, if you post a note touring me, it's torturing the audience. So if you posted a chart of Bitcoin on Twitter, everyone will always tell you to zoom out. And that's sort of the answer that I have to give about Bitcoin as an inflation head to advocates will still say in the grand fullness of time, it is an inflation hedge. When you have central banks really printing money is the answer you would get. I feel that right now we are at the test of that thesis because now you have central banks around the globe removing stimulus tightening liquidity hiking Central Bank rates. We haven't seen this environment with Bitcoin as a mainstream asset. This is really never happened before. So we're watching that experiment. It's kind of funny because it's the first time in our lifetime at least where we've had a pandemic, but we've also had inflation. So it's been a lot. It's been a lot. Volatility in digital currencies, digital assets, volatility in the industry. There have been a lot of well-known founders, CEOs of some of the more well-known crypto related startups departing. Absolutely. Of course, the big headline which this program covered while yesterday. Jesse Powell, the kraken CEO and cofounder stepping down from the exchange from that role. Of course, chief operating officer David Ripley is going to succeed him. But they're just, that's just part of the trend that we're seeing to your point, of course, Michael saylor stepping down as micro strategy, CEO, in August, really kicked this off a few weeks later, you have had Michael morrow from genesis do the same. So it's this interesting moment in the industry where you are seeing a lot of upheaval in the C suite. A lot of transition and it seems like the face of who's actually leading the industry right now is changing. Of course, we do have a lot of stalwarts, such as Sam bankman freed, such as Michael novogratz, still in their position. So it's not completely new, but definitely a time of transition. I'll go to my question. You know, is somebody that's covered Silicon Valley startups, forget necessarily crypto. A lot of this is like a changing of the guard, right? Sometimes they're pushed out. Exactly. Sometimes they've had enough. Sometimes investors get involved, right? This is a really critical time for the industry. Talk to us about that changing of the garden. The moment it falls in. To your experience to put this in your world, covering Silicon Valley, it's hard to transition away from a founder leading the company. And we are seeing a little bit of that. Of course, it'll be really interesting to see where cracking goes from here because the founders become really the identity of the company. So it's going to be interesting to see how the crypto industry handles this moment. Who's going to step up to the plate and who ultimately continues to hang around and transition who becomes sort of the Mark Zuckerberg of the crypto industry. In just the sense that he's been there. Hey, real quick. Did the merge matter? That's a really good question. It turned it mattered in that it looks like it turned to a cell the news event obviously ether rallied so heavily into the merge. It doesn't much matter for the end experience of your holder of ether. It's going to be important to see whether it does lead to this sort of influx of development in terms of the apps on the Ethereum blockchain. And we still have a few more tests to go through when it comes to the merge. It's not completely over yet, but the bulk of it is out of the way. Did the merge matter. Bloomberg's Katie gray failed. Thank you very much. Coming up impossible foods, pledges

Get your movie pick in. This week's movie review is a movie from nineteen eighty seven grilled. Yes but no surprise. Nineteen seventy-nine nine. Yeah we'll talk about that. And you would think it's from the late seventies. No it's from nineteen eighty-seven defied. It is called st trash here. I'll tell you what hit street trash on rotten tomatoes. You guys may be surprised to learn is sitting at sixty seven percent hit. Anybody surprised disbelief right now. I mean if you look on letterbox star move which is like pretty decent movie. It's pretty good. Average is five point seven out of ten. Let's just remember last week. We reviewed stallone's cobra was thirteen percent. All right just keep that in sixty seven percent the estimated budget on this movie. I found out. It's hard to find out seven dollars. Close five hundred thousand dollars. Whoa okay maybe more deaths. What a waste of five hundred k you know. They needed a lot of paint And apparently this was a straight to video movie did have a limited theatrical release surprisingly This movie is directed by j michael monroe. Who goes by jim morrow credited and written by roy from kiss. Nj michael morrow now anthony. This is going to be pretty easy. This movie barely has a plot. What the fuck happened in st which about these homeless hobos that One of them comes comes across some old liquor and they all start dying because of his liquor melting. Yes becoming paint. I don't know And on the side. There's a leader from the vietnam war. That's leading these hobos. And he's just crazy and killing people. That's it. I don't really know there's nothing else getting these two different than they really isn't a plot per se. Okay wow you saw this the most recently Finished it minutes. Mara what you were feeling while you're watching this movie what you were feeling after this movie what you feel about. It's well. I'll just start off by saying that. I was supposed to watch it friday night but stupid me. I'm not gonna watch it on. Chicago's baby girl. So then i was gonna watch it sunday night and then i was convinced to do a sunday funday. That turned into a sunday. Funday sunday night and i came home all drunk. Those like still gonna watch that movie. And then i threw a burrito in me. And i'm like yeah. I have no desire to watch a movie and i might fall asleep so i'm not gonna watch this movie. I pushed it all the way today. Where i'm hungover from doing a sunday funday which by the way i should stop doing being in this type of type of shape for the first one it sounds like exactly i Weekend except had no fun sunday. Watch it today right before the show two hours before the show i started it and the i wish i could have got back at hundred and eight minutes of my life or whatever the hell will never. I will never see that that again. I don't know if that was time well spent at probably would have helped year. Their whole thing was Not us i mean. This is my. It's i'm not even. I'm not going to cut to the my rating yet but this is one of the worst movies ever seen Okay that's pretty much says it all rugs. What are your thoughts. Let street trash here. I was so fucking confused. About what the fuck they were trying to do now. I it's so fucking inconsistent in inconceivable. That i don't even know what the deal was so okay. The movie opens up with this kind of like hand held like a panning and zooming and i was like oh. This looks like a real movie. Have seconds sweeping shots rub all the sudden like then also they forget about like any kind of camera and then it looks amateur hour and like me that been alva blocking in the staging of the actors and the actors themselves are like super amateur hour and they all look like it looks like it. It was filmed in nineteen eighty seven. But it looks like it's taking place in nineteen seventy nine. Yeah it has the feel of old trashy late seventies body or film and What else i. The plot has no has no slice. The audio was so bad. Even hear what the fuck we're seeing. This movie is so cheap. They couldn't afford fucking captions. Oh i couldn't understand anything. They were saying either. There was no x ray anthony. How they have the x ray on amazon. Nothing no those up character actors They could even afford any of that will be. I don't know if any of these people have ever done anything since they have it. I have a little bit of backstory apply you mentioned about the hobos fighting the booze and drinking it and melting is addressed in the beginning and at the end and they forget about it for a long time in.
