"Matters like oh you know he's doing this to me and it's like no actually you're getting the consequences of your actions exactly. Yep that's already that they suck. But your actions sucked. Olivia was really happy. To see. Lydia when lydia got in and olivia wanted to give ethan and lydia space. 'cause ethan was like do you want to come with us to look at trucks and olivia's like no. Yeah no that's not my place. And also i don't want to also yeah. That sounds awful but mostly it should just be. You know you guys should have some brother. Sister time yes actually. Since things are not like. I would be one thing if things were like really good and harmonious between olivia ethan. But since there's already tension there it's like why bring that onto the situation. Yep they get to the dealership and it ends up being closed but they do get to kind of look around and peek round at the shop and see what they had so it wasn't like a complete bust. Yeah and lydia was like you know. I wanted to look at cars but mostly i wanted to hang out with within which we know this. That's good They talk a little bit about stuff. Even still has no idea what's going on with the moving and they don't have any plans set it also. It's very stressful to me. Yep they go back to michael mariah's house. They stand outside the driveway and chitchat for awhile. And lydia asks ethan about the boy situation she's like. Hey i wanted to get your input on this. And so she says kevin berry wanted. Lydia take a step back from the boyfriend so she did and says that it wasn't their decision. It was her decision. Which again. I think you're just being played by cam berry but yeah it's hard to not be when you live in their house and they're the only like guiding light you have. You don't really have a choice. Sometimes it's easier to deal with stuff when you can kind of light yourself until you. It was your own choice so it's can't really blame her but this is where ethan says something like concerning things like he's talking about Really making sure you get to know somebody which is fair like if you if you're only like texting someone like that's one hundred percent way to get to know them but you need to meet them in person and get to know the person as well but yeah didn't says pretty much everyone is not what they seem and it just felt very ominous when he's at that yeah i think he's Getting a little dark on the inside with all that anger that just no one is trustworthy. No-one trustable now on as they say they are. Everyone will eventually betray you. Yeah which is not the way you want to be going. Please be ethan or a rage room. Yeah he touches a little bit about on getting married young He says he doesn't regret it. But it's i dunno i. It's i think they both seem both he. And ethan both he and ethan. He's married to himself both he and livia 'cause i know they've done couple's therapy together so i think both of them are just like you know. I wish we had more time to get to know each other to get to like be adults with each other first versus getting immediately married right..

"Well, it's Monday again. Here we are. Last Monday. I wasn't here. And, uh, I was out of action for three days on Julia. You were behind on action because yesterday or Friday when I mused aloud Would, Adele. Does anyone care? What has Adele done in the last five years? Uh, it was without any contacts because neither you or Rocco, we're up to the speed on the rumor last week. Was the Dow was putting out A new album album by Halid for Halloween. And you, too, But you knew that. No, None of us knew that not ever. I should make it seem like we were the bad guys here. Yeah, you are because you did not pay attention to any gas up then. But that was like, kind of huge news because the Del hasn't dropped an almond five years. Didn't they didn't even know. Roger Friedman just gave the comparison of what all of her peers had done in five years and I kept going out Why? He just picking on this? That why we begin an Adele? Adele Adele. Anyway, I looked. It was in the news, Julia, Like all the places that you go, but apparently you were not reading last week. Quick. Okay, Saul. So anyway, then yet, then yesterday, Adele Oh my God. She's on Instagram. She's hosting SNL who? She's been busy, he well, she's been busy. She's hosting SNL next week, which is now the ratings third week in a row. They've gone down down down. And this past week was disarray. And Justin Bieber who would have thought would have brought the young people, but no, I Yeah, but didn't you watch Iraq? Oh, at all. Did you just watch skits like the next morning? Yeah, I don't like Jim Carey is but I know it's bad. I just It's um it seems like the writing is just a bit off. I thought Bieber's performance was really good, but he didn't bring any young new eyes or anything. It's the third Eckenrode. The Chanels ratings have gone down. Does the first week you know, they were back after a long time and the novelty maybe of Jim Carrey, But a lot of people are with us on not liking Jim Carrey's Biden. It doesn't feel and even even Alec Baldwin's Trump is one note. Yeah, You're right. But I also know Think It kind of they go on too long, long at opening stuff. It's boring. I was interested in my click. Yeah, quick. Yes, so anyway, So Adele is super excited. Her is going to be the musical guest and Adele. He's not the musical guest just the host. She is the host. The Dell is hosting. The last time she was on SNL was November 2020 15 when she launched her 25 album. Her new album they're speculating is coming either this Friday, the 23rd or next Friday, the 30th and I'm thinking it might be the 30th because Sony has Bruce Springsteen coming out this Friday. Oh, you've done a deep dive Laurie into a record labels, and she's serious with that. He's very Adele's very excited, but she's not hosted it. She's terrified. I would be too if I was her. Ah, but we know well from her concert, the part that I remember I remember She's God. She kind of has a wicked sense of humor. I mean, she loves to say the f bomb. I mean, you can't say that on SNL, but but that's her. I wonder. I bet she'll be funny, I think should be good. But now we know why. That was being speculate on because Adele does have an album that is dropping in the next week or two. We just stared at you blindly like, uh, I mean, it's It's excellent because that's right November. It's clears a path you know for everything but and also area on a Grand Day. The rumors she might be just surprised, dropping something this Friday, too. No, she's been the busiest. Yes, I mean, that would be like her sixth album and five years ago. I think it anyway, so she's super excited about it, but nerve racked about it, and she's also suing the son. The London son. Why? For publishing a story about Chris Brown being at her house? Oh, which was just a lie. Why was he there? I don't know. All right. She's suing him for saying it, though. I have a question for you guys. Okay. All right. So Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis Yes, have cut a deal with BMG Entertainment. And this kind of what we talked about before is just do a duet album. Just do a duet, but they're going to be doing they're going to do their own very first album. Here's what they're calling. Okay, I know that's what I want. I know Draco and I record ru containing your statement. I do have some love for jamming Lewis. OK? Yeah, we'll see what Julie has to say. Okay. They're promising, iconic collaboration spanning their influential Discography or something. Tiger photography. Whatever word they've worked with. Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Connie West Friends Prance Gwen Stefani, George Michael Mariah Caring and Here's what they said about it. BMG immediately got our vision and understood where we wanted to go with this album. It was a really mutual respect. We found the perfect partner to kick off this next eras, so they expect this album. To come out in 2021. Of course we don't care daycare. Well, I'm trying to figure out Is it going to be brand new? You know, Aunt collaborations because it did say what Spanning there. Yeah, The forthcoming record will feature iconic collaboration spanning their influential discography. Yes, Does that mean they're going back tracks and they're back and they're re fixing is remarkable with on inspiring performances to create a career defining master work..

"The reason why they were able to mirror it to. Jordan is because of Kobe mind. He was mirroring what he saw Jordan. He's taking that style when everyone else was having lunch in this Jillian and hanging out near do job doing that fadeaway. Hiller Mama fadeaway. Well I was off the blocks back and forth to start doing and start doing start trying to see your how how I could be better than everyone else on. And that's the other thing it's not about the whole sometimes. It's that little thing whether it's just a how the ball Fingers in basketball or how? I entered the water. When I'm doing star all those little things to the big show. So yeah you're right when it came to the one hundred three it's forty seven seconds. Forty eight as it. It's the mindset which are doing all year long at brings you to that moment or you have forty six or six minutes or examine that kids super warm. But it's it's more than that. It's it's last night. Would you have for breakfast with your mindset when you love? What's your mindset when you're behind the blocks you're thinking about it over and over and over and over your body doesn't know anything different. It's just slowing it or not then retire. It's about all of these pieces branding. Correctly at that Raimondo. Nothing that's what separates people call it brain far behind the thinking about race. Okay this right or basketball or guidance. Make sure I'll miss that. Sean Sean. Birth half you're thinking second half that's GonNa mess up your whole game if I'm thinking about the rates that I had months ago it's GonNa miss rate now so different things being put into this one moment that one time to put it together performance for basketball to full game for me for his own sites. How do we get kids to think this way? Because they're surrounded by blame. Self-doubt parenting coaches the social media. I'm sure you didn't figure this out right away right. You had your own self doubt like we talked about that eating. WanNa get in the water. And that took five coaches he said. How do we get of someone is starting to kind of want to go to that next level? Or even if it's not about going to the elitist. The most elite level is just for the moment that they're in to not get lost into like you said what happened in the last game or two years ago or five minutes ago so my mom always was being a goal setting and if. I didn't make a goal. I got fifteen minutes to get upset but she after that was great. You're upset you didn't make it. It's okay with me. Do better with we face make this better and I would have to sit there for a few minutes and then re evaluate my goal while this attainable yet. All we need to do. You can do a better job in just me saying that. We're GONNA WORK SO TURNS. She didn't say do the whole race. We broke it up into little pieces into how we're going to get better at one thing and I think there's so much what we do as athletes young athletes especially we look at the whole. We look at the whole piece. Okay let's think about jump shot with Johnson. We figure out how balls tonight leave our hands in how we're going to be the air no finger hiding in Joe. Thinking about the smallest visa. What you're going to be going and then add to that for me was the flipped term are homages split. Homily GonNa do start getting all my strokes while I gotta work on breaking down to the smallest piece and then work on that way built. Read it builds. Stop thinking about this as a whole. Take a slice of that pie instead of trying to attack the whole thing because anytime Daunting and young athletes when they don't get the immediate satisfaction verification immediately so many athletes on those from elands which is something else all. I'm done with sports general. It's not bad song for a long time of my life. I wasn't drowsy Hampton Purple Ribbons six and seven because my mom was like area will migrate. But we're going to fix this work on a really good start. Okay wants for on Start and just progressive because we took a little bit for athletes. If you can say smaller individual he says what you're doing and make yourself better in great that one thing you will see so much addressing chain. We were talking about reading the other day. It's like you read when you want to read and keep reading what you wanna read in that genre that you want to read and then maybe later but you have to be good that one thing one thing that you're really good and then see a love and just breaking it down to the smallest part and easy to talk about. It's easy to say it's hard to execute we always have to. I'm sure you're still reminding yourself. I know I remind myself all the time to like. Don't get lost in that. Don't think about that. Think about this thing that you're doing and I appreciate you sharing that and there's the other thing is you see it with with anybody else and you hear about it. Going to the Olympics we were talking about las of might as well stay with this talk about the original Dream Team and there was a stories of some of the best games. They say they've ever played. Were in the gym when no one else there Michael on one side magic on the other Karl Malone Charles Barkley and these guys are going at it and nobody's watching and the lights are on but basically the lights are off no one's there and it is about surrounding yourself with elite level with elite people with elite talent. We talk about that. A lot and takes himself awareness in L. M. I in the place where there's some elite people around me but you're going through training your with team. Usa your trying to see. Where am I going to fit in here? Do I belong here. Talk to us a little bit about being around these elite people. 'cause you already mentioned Michael Phelps. I know you're friends with a lot of these other swimmers to be in the pool with these guys. Yes as many people were about this interview. Recently they were like heard the U. Ryan Michael Valves. He always played hearts together. We always play spades with moves like and I was like Ryan my brother in like you would always room together and everything but Mike always plays better as a team on some by the point of that. Was that these guys who swarms Amo bad. There's so much rivalry but respect for each other. They hated to lose. And that was the one thing that babies are code so as they sat on your on the Olympic team is not as you guys like to win. It's because of all these guys hate to lose. And it was one of those moments that we started looking around and the first two people that was Michael and Ryan up the lose and I think that's the power of genus especially speaks about swimming. We travel as it seems for about two weeks namely that. You're speaking about the Dream Team. We would have his chance where it was just seniors together. We have realized where. Just go head to head. And they were some of the most intense. I remember watching Michael. Mariah brace against the charter was there. It was just the two of them going at it and the rest of the team is literally just sitting there watching these titans going at it and it was one of the coolest things because at the end the Bloomberg. They weren't at the bars but just saw like it was so inspiring for everyone in that we all had those marooned did realize the all hired each other up in its being surrounding yourself of excellence and it's something that the weight sent me once he goes after the two thousand eight win than records like your lifespan to change the biggest thing that she needs to recognize as leaders. Some of those people that you have around you are not going to be people rich. Need our out a need to have the right people around people that want to see you succeed people that want to push you further in. I got to get a taste of that every single time team you say Annan watching does go get up on the block. Then let's go to fifty. Let's do one hundred listening to do two hundred. I am right out higher. Let's do it in watching. Is things like they were at the Olympics. It didn't matter we were closed. Doors if you can take that into the business world views will take that into your whatever your field is and have the right people around you. There's no way game success. I've watched it over and over and over again. I swear I've seen things come out of the races. That are my. Where did that come from? My coach comfortably always convenience to hear what D- Wade said you and they've caught him not caught him but like all star game two years ago and he's walking out there with the Ngelo Russell and his first all star game and he's saying something similar he's like you know you're one of the best right and he was like start talking. You couldn't hear what you're saying but something along those lines it's like man you gotta surround yourself with the right people which is again a lot of these things easier said than done because you don't know and you have this unique story of like this is the guy that almost drown. He shouldn't be here right now. And had all these other obstacles that head to overcome. 'cause you would talk to me about showing up to the poor me like what's this guy doing here like you hear those stories and it's angering it's frustrating. That's one of the most ridiculous things but it's the reality so it's it's not fake it's real and so you're having to deal with more than probably just the average swimmer who grew up in a pool. Right Right No. I mean growing up a set of my dad. He wanted me to play. Says Women Uses like all right? Well if you're gonNA give a basketball slower gonNA do it then. He just almost a little too much just supported me in what I was doing. He was just always there against the rights especially when he got sick you pass for against Burns. Esteem started going in every single bracket certainly looking at other storms as tensions valid. This Couch Watch Wasi student of the sport and that was one of the things he left with me and I remember. I started getting better as starting at singing things because of him making me realize I needed to be a suitable for and that's what needs to start looking at other people how other people are doing just like holding watching Jordan me watching others trying to get better and be a student loans or that's hard to do when the people that you're looking at starting to notice almo biking. I was part of the JC Jewish community center. And let me tell you everybody on that team welcomes me like no other in. I fell more home. That's probably any other team when.

"During the state of the union. Don't Trump introduced guy. Matthew, charles. He was one of the first people released under the first step Dak, and he has an amazing story. He was arrested for selling crack cocaine and he spent twenty one years in prison on a thirty five year prison sentence. He was released in two thousand sixteen. He walks out of prison with nothing, but he changes his life. And he had never had any infractions any right of all imprisoned. He was a model citizen. He had turned his life over to Christ goes out. And he starts, you know, immediately getting involved in his community in his church. Then he finds out in may of twenty eighteen two years later that was a mistake. You have to go back and serve the remaining decade back in prison. He doesn't throw it. He goes back. He goes back. He was one of the first released on the new criminal Justice reform, and we're thrilled to have him. Matthew, welcome to the program. How are you, sir? Matthew there? Yes. I am. Hi. How are you, sir? I'm I'm great. It is it is a great to talk to you. I remember when they sent you back, and I read that story. And I thought how is this happening? First of all the guys turned into a model citizen, and how is he dealing with that when when you heard you had to go back and serve ten years. What was that like? I was disappointed. Because at the time I had already served nearly twenty two years, and I've been out for two years, and because the government had successfully sent back and the fact that they couldn't take into account in rehabilitation taking place, they may get area house me to be very disciplined into skirts. Why couldn't they take into account anything that you had done anything that you had become because at the time that was actually incentives for rehabilitation about Pasa tation when you take a person out of society for particular period of time, then when time is up whether or not released him, and because that was released based on the changes made two thousand ten minutes guidelines and not being may retroactive too many therefore required. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. So Matthew back into prison, and how long were you in prison before the prison? Justice reform happened seven I went back make fourteen was released January third, and how did you find out about you know, when you were released where were you what happened? I was in Kentucky and waiting to go back to federal prison to serve that remained in ten years. And the time that was rearrested being hailed in Kentucky. And at the time that makes their speaking about our step, and they were talking about two different incentives at the discretion just had their own courtrooms. They'll be mandatory minimums, but I didn't know that it was going to actually affect me until late November early December. When I say that one of the provisions retroactive, the two thousand ten and so did you apply for did. Somebody else apply. Vendors office and Nashville. Tennessee miss the Michael Mariah Wooten because they already appealing. My reincarceration already have before the court was President Donald Trump sanded, December twenty first and it became applicable after his signature, they just went on to district court already doing behave asking him to release me on the first epic. So Matthew, it it? I mean, I'd like to hear you talk about the I was sitting in the chamber during the state of the union. First of all, how did you get there? The president call you how did you how did you end up at the state of the union? It would've been nice to the president. Actually been invited by his stale the Email twice person, but it didn't take place because it was a government shutdown in a second time they reinvited made. And once I went there, I was able to go to the White House and meet him going over to state of the Union Congress. So it was an experience, but I had actually got the invite from his stamp home is like money Trump's. So now, you are you're sitting there the president speaks about you. We all stand up and give you a standing ovation. What was that moment? Like to a guy who had spent twenty one years in prison. Nobody was thinking of the you are your release. Then you're pulled back in the system is just grinding you down. What was that moment? Light to have the president tell your story. Have you stand up and every the the members of congress and the Senate and the and the White House the justices everybody standing up. Giving you a round of applause. It was a moment that would never be Illinois. The only thing was expression. My mind was like a cartoon character where the roof obey of the character. Just takes choose to this guy because it was like unbelievable. So for me, it just like that it was presently overwhelming. While just completely amazed without in a million years that will be at the state of the union, let alone having President Trump to actually speak about that. And state. Welcome home to me. I will I will tell you that what it said to me is. I was I was watching you. Stand there in the same room with you as I'm watching that. I thought this is what the American Justice system should be the guy committed a crime. He not only paid for it. But he went and he was reformed, and he found redemption, and he found his way, and he's now welcome back into society with open arms with with with with the president of the United States saying welcome back. Welcome back home. Telling about the the pastor tell me about your conversion from guy that belonged in prison to guy that didn't belong in prison. What it took place was I got arrested in December of nineteen ninety five for selling crack cocaine and once I was arrested and taken to the county jail. How it is there awaiting pre-trial sentencing guide their name. Hey, just rain who actually had his sentence and was being transported out. So he let me some hygiene. I you know, so to pace, and he also lent me bible, and it was Brown getting King James about. So I didn't even know about religion or anything that nature so to give city game any live. But I started reading about them and through reading about him his started coming I guess to reality, waking, my spiritual side of me. And I started to study at the county jail and the preacher come in. And do about study and they often tracks on how to receive. How Bachchan took one that attracts, and I continued to read it Bob on my own time. Because you know, in the kind of j you got a lot of time on your hand, therefore. Made to stayed into words still on the track thing going to study classes and opening pay for them as well. And that decision that I made in nineteen ninety six I wanna say two months at that was arrested in place in county jail change my life forever. But everything used used had twenty one years before you would see the light of day. And when you get out it's hard for somebody like you to get a job into acclimate. How did you stay the path? It was because of my age and Christ once I made that decision to surrender my life to Jesus Christ. I will say all guys as guys to know. So therefore with guys, you know, how to make the right decisions how they to beget an protected by God during that time of my incarceration because at that time, I didn't know I was going to twenty one and twenty two years out of the spec to serve thirty one or thirty two years because I had her thirty five year sentence. You know, this is such an amazing story and in the middle of this somewhat divisive time that we're in it's hard to find the path toward Glen even talking about this forever. There's only really one solution to this. Yeah. I mean, you look at the world it it was in nineteen ninety-five. It's a different Americas and Matthew. Oh, yes. It is very much. So. And we've been looking for solutions, we keep going back and forth. And the only thing I can think of is that we've got to turn back to God. And it seem so trite it seems so simple. It's it's so simple people will dismiss it. But it's the only answer that will save us because we have to return to the the principles of just be decent to each other. Just be good to each other. Just let's not lie. Let's not cheap. Let's not steal. And that's correct because. Through like say through through. Kristen and experiences sale is shows how the low one another as well as respect one another. And as you stated day, the difference aside in nineteen ninety five there's a lot of divisiveness and that nature. So I would say that only thing that really going to bring true harmony piece is once everyone or someone Sorrenstam's sales over to the low. You're the beneficiary of very rare by partisan moment as you were able to get out because of what President Trump and Jared Kushner in particular fought very hard for as long as Jones. I mean, it was it's really an amazing story. What do you think the next step? Is there more that needs to be done in this area of criminal Justice reform? Oh, yes. So there's a lot more that needs to be done because they're still those that are postulated that I won't even fate because they've already done served. Same amount of time. I have on a little bit less than that. But they still have the expensive centers that they saying on their harsh penal system, whereas the Senate or the punishment is not a quilting or in proportion to the crime actually committed. So there's things that we need to do to reach those people will also changed second chance. And then also those that are now coming into getting in trouble in going to quit. And in the prison, we need to say what type of treatments are. Diversion to incarceration, maybe they may have a mental illness drug addiction where they need treatment, and you know, medicine for as opposed to just and cost rate. What do you think the percentages of people that are in the prison system that are just mentally unwell? They're just this is this is a mental illness. I would say anywhere from thirty to forty percent of those because. Yeah. And they're saying to them there because it's like they in a completely different world. But yet they're place in saying sometimes ballot atmosphere like the Valent MA saw the regular MA Sar. And then because they have those mental problems. They really are not able to cope, and I get they either get hurt or her somebody and at the time that was ill separate place to put these people they committed a crime they need to pay for the crime they committed. So the only thing that was giving them a Senate and putting them in prison. What everybody else? Well, matthew. Thank you so much. God bless you. And I'm glad you're out and. As the president said, welcome home. Okay. Thank you. Now. Pretty she ate it. And God bless you. God bless you..
