So incongruous to have enjoy yourself, Kathy Lee. Jackson. I found another YouTube clip of her called game show, or I guess variety show called tell me your favorite joke real she just walks around the streets of Newark, and stopping cab drivers and get them to tell their favorite jokes. How long that show? It didn't last very long and the jokes and terrible. All right. So we like to tell you who's been on the morning talk shows and guess who showed up exclusively on CBS, your favorite attorney, Michael Manati. You betcha. Oh, yeah. Charged with trying to shake down Nike also in charge in a separate case with fraud, stealing a client's money that was put up an escrow and making falsehoods applying for insurance and unbelievable anyway, unbelievable. Nadia's claiming that the the guy who's accusing him from Nike is is a criminal himself. The client who is accusing me of embezzlement. Is this is the other one? Okay. This is the other case, California. This the client is accusing him of embezzlement. The client who is accusing me of embezzlement is currently on felony probation in California. You know, when he was convicted of multiple counts of the Teini money under false pretenses. Okay. They got him on tape. Let's. The Nike deal. They have. Yeah. He says he told Nike that he'd have to go to federal authorities because they were doing illegal stuff from the very first moment that we had any meeting with Nike. We made it clear that under no circumstances. Would we participate in anything that did not require full disclosure to investigators and the federal government who's gonna fight this thing? Even the tape. He says that Nike has been paying high school athletes. Well, that's not a big shock. The truth is for years Nike and its executives have been funneling payments to amateur players high school players and to their handlers and family members. But everybody knew that all everyone alleges that from all the companies totally he denies to CBS and he tried to extort Nike. Did you try to extort Nike for millions of dollars? No in any suggestion is absolutely absurd Nike new from the very first moment that I had any contact with Nike that I was insisting that the truth. About what Nike had done be disclosed to federal prosecutors and investigators I will say this guy's got a set of balls out. They supposedly have tapes. Yeah. I know everyb- to go out there. That's pretty amazing. He's very Trumpian in that sense. Yes. Well, how's this going to do for his presidential aspirations? I can't stand this guy. Geez. Reptilian character. All right. Speaking of attorneys who was on ABC. Good Morning America, small jesse's mullets attorney Jesse smell. Let's attorney her name is Tina Glendon. And really I mean, you're gonna you're going to think about suing really sue for false arrest. What weighing our options now for just see what's really important is he really just wants his career and his life back. Again. He did not ask for any of this. He was a victim of a crime. This has completely spiraled out of control and become a political event at this point and his goal and focus right now is just getting his life back on track. He has not even started healing from the initial attack because he's been dealing with everything that's happened since then of sparrows initial attack which he lied about totally lied about it and talk about a lawyer having a set of ball, she's claiming or listen to this. She's claiming that they don't know who attacked him. The attackers were. Mask. He only saw one of them one of them approached him from behind and he was wearing a mask, and so he did not identify them. He initially had a really hard time believing that they could be involved because he knew one of them, and we can only speculate as to wait us. I mean, I thought isn't there a check that was paid to these to Nigeria wrote a check to them with his signature on it. He's guilty. Something happened. Somebody got to somebody the fix was in an got the charges dropped. Well, Chicago mayor Rahm Emmanuel was also on ABC's. Good Morning, America. You have the state attorney's office saying he's not exonerated. He actually did commit this host. He's saying he's innocent. And his words are true. They better get their story straight because this is actually making a fool of all of us. Well, yeah, Nago is looking kind of stupid abused the city of Chicago. He actually committed a crime here. He lied about something and remember the grand jury indicted him when only seeing a portion of the evidence, and he said he wanted to get his name clear that is what I want for him. Let's get to the bottom of this. Let's find out what happened. Well. I don't know. I mean, there's gotta be something more that they can do. They're going to turn it over the feds. Now, it could become a possible federal investigation and a federal crime, and they can also charge him sue him for the amount of money that the police department spent tracking down this hoax. Did he commit this hoax? That is the question that has I be answered the second question is what happened here that allow the state's attorney's office. It was in the room with the police department when they decided to actually bring the charges to the grand jury that actually brought the indictments what made them all of a sudden and say, you know, what on second thought this is enough. Rob Emmanuel he's the mayor of Chicago for another couple of weeks, and they're having a new election, and he's not running and the on we go. But it's got to be a lot more. See I would have asked him. Maybe they did we didn't have time to play with. I would have asked him. What are you guys going to do about this? Yeah. That's right. We want to know. Hey, Steven, Connecticut. You wanted to comment on everyone's favourite attorney, Michael. Hey, steve. You know, I was thinking about and and what's going on with his presidents run. And rather than avenue twenty twenty. I think we're going for avenue twenty to twenty five. Ten to twenty. All right. Very good. Our in our audience comes up with humor jokes that we do. Well, sometimes. Most of the time. So George popadopoulos remember him. He's seen days in jail. Now writing a book he lied to the FBI. But now he's claiming he was coerced into that lie. But he's got a book out. He's a petitioner. He has petitioned the president already for a pardon. And he's going to get one. I think he may he was on CNN this morning in retrospect, of course, I probably should have gone to some thirty one. This person told me this information. But in retrospect, maybe it was a good idea. I didn't go and speak to anyone because as I described in my book this man Joseph Minnesota's no Russian asset is no Russian agent. And it's quite Arizona book. So there you go. What does he have this? How old is he read his life story or something? What he's done also wants to talk about Abadi fill in new Hyde Park. What do you feel? Good morning, April. Boy that was quick gentlemen. Do you? Remember over Nadi was the legal analyst for CNN and MSNBC for two whole months. They couldn't get him off for that show as stormy Daniels. They made headlines last month when a woman named Lorraine Parsons said it had reached out to her about Robert Muller. They're offering money right for anyone. He'll say they did it. She said the man offered her fifty four thousand dollars while they retreats at fifty four thousand. Well, she turned you down, and they found somebody else domain records for sure. I don't know where he's coming up with the money to pay just random people to say, I did it. Yeah. Yeah. How pathetic is that one that he would do it in to that? Somebody would take the money. All this on the same day. We're talking about the homeless scam. I mean what we should be cynical people. I guess it guy easy guy to dislike. Sure. Yeah. We twenty lives with his mom. Here's a headline. Creepy porn lawyer, Michael Manati, arrested Wednesday creepy corn law. If he did it more power to you. But you know for everybody talked about false accusations and Cavanaugh where are you now? Paying people. Right. Allegedly paying people. To say that they've done this. Where did you come up with the numbers, fifty forty four thousand dollars is so ram? We'll give you fifty four thousand somebody took it. Yeah. So. Veered climbed to believe it out of ATI had they not quickly had he and his lawyer quickly outed. The dude in the wife came up and said, wait what what he's never touched me. It here here for those people who don't hear this show or just read what they saw yesterday. He's a wife beater wife beater now, unlike Cavanaugh, this guy was arrested. He's going to be charged with a felony the cavenaugh story for all the discussion out for all the discussions about. Law says cavenaugh deal was years and years and years ago. Sure, but it wasn't. He was not being arrested and charged with the well, I don't believe avenue. He's been charged arrested on a claim a woman made that he hit her. I thought he was charged with a felony. I don't know that he was charged yet. And having I was not it was just in the context of right again hearings, which doesn't make it right either. No. But he wasn't getting off the deck in the jail. Well, cavenaugh one thirty five years ago true. Just saying that. He he wasn't. He wasn't arrested in a career. I mean, he had been arrested. And twenty year old. "Here's what we know. This is what we know. We know there's going to be a hearing tomorrow, we know that there will be an opening statement. By chairman Grassley by minutes, excuse me, opened same by German Grassley and ranking member Dianne Feinstein, there will be then five minute rounds of questioning by the senators doctor phobia question, I followed by judge cabinet Republicans have fired Rachel Mitchell a career prosecutor with decades of experience prosecuting sex crime cases is outside counsel. The question STAN was saying during the break. Just now we're talking to friends on Facebook periscope that it is likely that the democratic senators, although they will be asking questions themselves directly. They can go to their Senate counsel as well. But the rules allow that there has been a third alligators in made it is just come out within the last hour by client represented by Michael avenue. The client's name is Julie sweat, Nick. And she's made some very serious allegations doesn't seem to be a tremendous amount of cooperating evidence in here. But that doesn't mean they're not cooperating evidence. I want to be very cautious and not little any of these allegations. I think Brad cabinet is gonna have to defend himself tomorrow when he's these allegations of race. And I think these this third allegation is going to be raised at this hearing the one that came out in the New Yorker heading zero cooperating evidence this one doesn't indicate cooperating evidence. But it doesn't mean that she saying there, I think either Michael Manati or someone who said there is cooperating evidence here. So I don't know if there is or isn't we're gonna find that out. This has been a request from her lawyer was for a DOJ FBI investigation. I want to go to our director of policy because he'll look this is this is the hearings tomorrow, I want to go to professor Hutchinson. And get your sense of where we are with us. Well, I j I would suggest that we should be both cautious and careful in. Examining each and every allegation allegations of sexual misconduct are very very serious. So we shouldn't ignore those allegations. But at the same time, we should seek a fair process. And so we should examine the affidavits. We should seek corroboration we should seek verification, and we should give both the accused and the accuser a fair opportunity to state their case before the United States Senate. I've been saying the process part is important here. Now. What is your latest understand? Now, you got this new allegation coming in. What is what is this that? You're what do you think this? How do you think? This is the process mardi think it goes forward. Well, I think the first step is what happens tomorrow, and it starts with Harry said, you gotta give the accused and the accuser both a chance to be heard Jay the committee has done that. We'll see if the accuser shows up to make our case, we know the accused is is gonna show up as far as the new claim j I know that the committee investigators are already seeking to interview both the attorney and the ledger here on the on the claims. So I know these are going to be looked into. I think what they get from that investigation will determine how they proceed just just one other note, though, Jay on the FBI piece. The Senate can't demand that so what they have done is they have referred Michael avenue ATI to the FBI field office as it would be the FBI field office that would make a determination on whether or not it warranted. An investigation. So people who are calling for the committee to make that call j it's not in their purview to make the call me FBI will make that call. All right. Let's go ahead and take some phone calls. One eight hundred six eight four thirty. It's very important that we hear from you on this. Let's go ahead and get another call. Let's go to Jennifer calling from California on line six, Jennifer. Welcome to Jay segula live. Hi, jennifer. Hey there, you know. I just wanted to comment and say how frustrating it is to watch this as the general public unfold and feel like the Democrats are just trying to, you know, throw different bomb. That's a whole process. It's just so disheartening. Well, the process look the process that's going to go forward with the process is set forth in the constitution. The Senate rules constitution says the senate's role is advice and consent. Then that's not that's not a mere rubber-stamp, Harry. I mean, that's when the vice had sent me they get to have earrings investigators. They put people under oath. I swear in witnesses. Absolutely. So essentially the constitution allows for four from the perspective of listeners a frustrating process because the Senate has a role in providing advice and consent to the president and nothing essentially is off limits with respect to what the Senate can. Ask or inquire about. And so we have serious allegations raised and we should pursue the evidence to the extent that the evidence exists. But again, we should allow this process to play out allow the senators to ask questions the Republicans will employ outside counsel and experienced outside counsel to question both judge Cavanaugh and the accuser tomorrow, and we all also should see follow up with respect to the latest allegation. Yes, I recognize this is frustrating. But this is consistent with the senate's advice and consent. Yes. That was a really good explanation. I know I agree. I agree with Harry, it appears frustrating. But this is the role set out in the United States constitution the way, it's set up to work, and it sometimes is frustrating and sometimes it's slow. But nevertheless, that's the nature of the process. Let's go ahead and grab another phone call. We're gonna try to take some calls throughout the we'll take call throughout the broadcast free lines up for you. But we do want to hear from American people. Debbie's calling from South Carolina on line five, Debbie. Welcome the jaysekulow live II, Debbie. Hi, thank you for taking my call. I have a question is these people that are accusing him are proven to be totally uncritical. Incredible. Not valid at all. The chances that they will actually be facing perjury charges. I mean, I'm very skeptical that they would actually ever be charged. And I can't tell you that. They would bet anybody we'd be charged. But let me tell you who's under oath here Brad Kavanagh, and Dr Fourtou both be under oath in front of the Senate Judiciary committee. So they should tell the truth. The Julie, sweat, Nick. Who's just issued her declaration is made under the penalty of perjury. So I think at any of these situations that that people need to tell the truth because the whatever side you're on on this the sides don't matter right now, what matters is the law and the law is if you're under under oath, you you have to tell the truth or you could be subject to perjury. If you're making a false statement to a federal official here. It would be the Senate Judiciary committee. Yes, I do think there's more pressure here on judge Cavanaugh. That's the truth. Is that moving forward as he's even said about Dr Ford, it may just be his opinion. That even question what happened to her? But say who did it? And so people have been very careful about that. So I think that this idea we always sort of rushed to say put them in jail. Lost them up. That that's not how anyone is respond to this situation. Who's actually they've all said we've got to very carefully. Very carefully. Take these individuals have to say, maybe they have confused some details about the individuals that were involved, but not necessarily question that they had these are horrific experiences. Yeah. But this is all very so that's fine line between. Yes, this remembering something actively by. Yeah. What do you think? Well, I think Jordan is absolutely correct. It's important to recognize that there is a possibility that both the accuser and the accused are telling the truth. But there may indeed be a mistake with respect to who was the perpetrator. And so it's very very possible that both what witnesses tomorrow could indeed be credible, but not necessarily with respect to the same timing and the perpetrator, then what is your sense of as we close this segment of broadcasts out. What do you think? Well, I think we're going to learn a lot they're both going to be under penalty of felony. And I'm reading breath cabinet statement.

"Of hush money to stormy Daniels of legal fees, of course, being deduct tax deductible to a business. If the business did tack deduct those as legal fees that would be a criminal tax violation. And there are other business records violations that are particular to New York state law. If the business included fraudulent entries in their bookkeeping about those payments, we are joined now by Michael avenue, the attorney four stormy Daniels. And Michael, once again, tonight we have this New York Times report of a new criminal legal investigation of Donald Trump and Donald Trump's business because of the payments to stormy Daniels that you have helped make public. Well, you know, Lawrence, what would we do? Without all of quote, this thinking close to quote the president's interview. I mean, it's truly amazing. You know, when I think about the great philosophers in the great thinkers in history, I think of Socrates and Plato, and obviously Donald Trump. I mean, there's no question that he goes with the other two. You know what? What's amazing Lawrence is quote. This thinking, close quote is all timidly going to be the downfall of this president. This is crumbling around him, this criminal enterprise that he led for so many years. The people that he's surrounded himself with the actions that they undertook all of this is unraveling at a breakneck pace, and it's only going to get quicker. It's only going to get faster in the coming weeks and months, and my view. Now, the discovery in your civil lawsuit against Donald Trump and Michael. Cohen was stopped by the judge pending the outcome of the criminal case involving Michael Cohen. It's your position now that that case is complete, and you're going to now ask the judge to go forward with your discovery, which is to say, go forward with issuing a subpoena for a deposition to the president of the United States. What's going to happen next? Well, you're absolutely right on September. Tenth. We're gonna have a hearing in Los Angeles, and I'm going to demand that the case be restarted or allowed to proceed. I want to take a deposition of Michael Cohen under oath. I then want to proceed forthwith with the deposition of Donald Trump under oath, and I want to ask them the questions that all of us want to know the answers to, namely what was the flow of the money? What did the president know? What did he communicate with Michael Cohen about how did they handle the funneling of the money? How is it decided that it would be four hundred thirty thousand dollars. The president's gonna have a lot. Of explaining to do lords. And I've taken a lot of depositions in my career, but I will tell you, I am counting the days to this deposition. We might even use that Air Force One video and ask him to explain those comments in light of what we know now to be the facts and based on the court's ruling and Bill Clinton's of dealing with a similar civil subpoenas in a civil lawsuit involving Paula Jones. The precedent is that the courts do require the president to submit to a deposition like this. You're absolutely right. We have solid precedent from the US supreme court. In the case of Jones v Clinton. We all know that resulted in. I don't think I don't think the president's gonna have a leg to stand on relating to attempting to avoid this deposition. I think there's little question we're going to get Michael Cohen's deposition in light of the plea that he entered two days ago in New York. And I think that we have only scratched the surface relating to the amount of evidence in. The facts that are going to come to light as to what really happened here in what Michael Cohen, what information he conveyed to the president and what the president conveyed to Michael Cohen. Michael Manati. Thank you very much for joining us. Not appreciate it. Thank you. It's coming up. More Republicans struggled to set today with what to say about what has happened this week involving the president and attorney general Jeff Sessions and everything else that Donald Trump has thrown their way. They are responding in ways. They have never responded before. It is a very different response to the way they responded to the investigation of President Bill Clinton, Dan rather covered the investigation of Bill Clinton for CBS news. Dan rather will join us..

"It's something more about who gets tension in our media culture, and Michael is very good at getting attention in our media culture. Yeah. I mean, I think this whole idea of Democrats gonna fight the the problem with it to me is we're not really, really clear on what. Fight means, you know, I mean, you can use, Democrats need to fight or aren't fighting hard enough and a whole bunch of different ways. Like we have talked for example about how Senate Democrats like did not fight hard enough on keeping the government shutdown until Trump did something on the dreamers, you know. And so there are legislative battles where you can say, okay, Senate Democrats have been too cautious too worried and they should fight harder then there. But that's that's something separate than the whole Michelle Obama. When they go low, we go hi thing. Which like if you look back at twenty sixteen, we can say a lot of things about Hillary Clinton's campaign, and we have the idea that Hillary Clinton didn't fight Donald Trump. Hard enough is in Saint, look back at her speeches. Look back at the debate performances. She called him a racist every day for the last two months. She was like, Hillary Clinton did not pull her punches against Donald Trump. So the idea that we are in some, you know, the democrat. Party is still caught in some, you know, Abacha era. Let's all get along. And let's not say mean things about Donald Trump is just sort of absurd on its face. Everyone is attacking Trump. Everyone is saying everything there is to say about Donald Trump now. But if you wanna talk about fighting in terms of fighting on behalf of people fighting for a big, bold set of progressive ideas, like yes, then of course we should fight. But my my problem right now is that it is an ill defined phrase that is that excels at capturing media attention because there is a narrative out there that because Democrats have lost that. Therefore we haven't fought even though in can actually describe what fighting means. Yeah, so I'd say two more things about this, and then we can just shoot this topic in the head and move on. Perfect. By is one, you're right. There is a market like our Senator on among democratic activists strictly on Twitter on the CD of the Democrats don't fight hard enough and it is totally defined. And I don't think actually holds up to scrutiny. Are there things Democrats could do better and smarter? Absolutely. Are there things the Clinton campaign could have done better? It's absolutely this idea that the recent Donald Trump was in power in the reason that Donald Trump stays in power is because Democrats aren't fighting is just absurd. And maybe you could have an argument of Democrats controlled some liver of power. You could point to thing, right? They're not subpoenaing Jared Kushner, or they're not holding a vote to repeal the tax cut. But right now, all they have is their tweets. And then it's a sad statement about where are pretty is, but that is true at least until eighteen election's where we can change that fact other thing that really irked me about the of ninety analysis from the press all these reporters who know in the like, look, if you think Mike Lavin on he can't win the new, learn nothing from two thousand sixteen. And that. Is a level political analysis that is so simplistic that it is an insult to one dimensional thinking because Donald Trump is not was not some. Attorney who showed up on the scene in with a bunch of cable hits in June of two thousand fifteen. He had a hundred percent name recognition. He could self fund. He had a long history of scratching the itch. The Republican base wanted which was racism and people forget that in when he was thinking of running for president in two for the two thousand twelve election against Brock Obama in the early polls he was leading. So this is a person with tremendous political sway influence in name recognition and just the it is so fucking simplistic to say, one outsider who is a real fighter one. So obviously that can happen again, that is just lists police, be smarter than that. I also Donald Trump had more of a message in a platform. Michael Manati does right now. Donald Trump wasn't just fighting. He said that he wanted to build a wall..
