"Interviews for Michael Malone, Tim Connelly coming up over the next couple of days today, Michael Malone spoke to US and Covered a wide range of topics. Tim Connelly will speak tomorrow. And now will help us You know, kind of set the course moving forward. Because it will be about the direction this team is heading and what potential moves they may want to make. With Michael Malone. A lot of it today was With some separation reflecting on what that run was In the bubble and Michael Malone talked about The thing that he's going to Remember the most takeaway. The biggest takeaway from his seems time down in Orlando. People won't understand if we just kind of way want to go home, but we never had that There was never a part of your process. There's never my fault process, my attitude that I brought the team every day, and just the fact that we were able to Face. Six great elimination means Azad mentioned after are being five walls to Lakers and look elimination in the face. And just walked right past events. That is something that you don't see very often. What they did was historic. To rally from 31 down. Twice Now, I would say moving forward as they found on Lakers. Siri's probably not the best way to go. And there will be jokes made. Between now and may be the end of time. About any time the Nuggets we are to fall down 31. They got him right where they want him. I don't know how you came with all the circumstances, not just how far the Nuggets win. Cause they've been to the Western Conference finals before. But how they did it the circumstances. The teams they went up against. The battles between like Jamal Murray and Donovan Mitchell. Look, I followed this team. When they upset the Sonics. I was locked in when the Nuggets made their run with chancing Carmelo. I don't know how you can say that This is not the greatest postseason run. In that franchise is history. Perhaps you want to take one from the Doug Mo days. But my Tom Bowen I think this is the best one and It's a little bit sad that that's the case because it didn't result and even a finals appearance. And that speaks Tio this franchise and what they've been over the course of their time in the MBA. But the run were they upset the Sonics. And ended up ultimately losing to Utah. And then When they ran through. New Orleans. They were the Hornets at that time in Dallas Mavericks. To lose to the Lakers. And now with this one has got to be the best postseason run with everything. It's certainly going to be the most memorable. I know decay. Mima Tembo is an indelible image in Colorado sports history. That's just an image. I think we're going to look at this whole run. And say that was as good as it has been with the Denver Nuggets. Mentioned your mall Murray in the epic battles he waged against Donovan Mitchell in the first First round, and I think The most important thing. From an individual standpoint. Is the development of Jamal Murray. His evolution, his his step up to stardom. I think was the most significant individual development. In the bubble, and Michael Malone talked about that. And what Now lies ahead for Jamal Murray, but he did not Utah Siri's Wass. History, making almost it was just so incredible to watch and to see him carried out through another seven game series into the Western Conference finals. But it was just a witness off clothes and personal. Oh, don't shoot. And now the Chandlers. But Jamal Murray is OK. I'm sure I could do this on the world's biggest stage against the best players the best teams in the world. Can I do this again, not just in the playoff next year before all 82 games. And Michael Malone makes a great point there because if Jamal Murray comes out next year And he's not at the level that he was during these playoffs. People will start to look at it like a flash in the pan. Right. A special circumstance. The bubble agreed with him. Call it a playoff version of Linsanity. Right, just a dude getting really hot. If he can't carry that over. And continuously because you have to do it until you get to the point where you are. You know LeBron or Steph Curry? Or one of these guys in a lot of it has to do with the rings. They have. You are going to be doubted. LeBron James is doubted the Warriors have been doubted, at times. Jamal Murray hasn't won anything. He's going to have to prove, as Michael Malone said night in a night out that he truly has become a star. And the tone for Michael Malone there when talking about Jamal Murray, it extended to a lot of different players..

"It on the elbow off over the yolk, and she spends it on Guzman Beatem. Riverside is up in a little aggressive. Yes, sir. About that shot near the end of the second quarter, where Anthony Davis played incredible defense and joker still hits a turnaround off 1 ft. With the shot clock running down, Paris gets to the free throw line. He dribbles down. He gets double team throws out of it to Yokich, guarded by Davis. He's hounded by Davis leans in on shoots over. How you can do about that. I mean, when a guy like that hits a shot like that, you've got no choice but to acknowledge it. Tip your cap. Put your head down, run back up the floor. But don't get it twisted. This was not about joker, bailing them out with those crazy one legged shots. This was about a team that came in with a plan and they executed that plan. Michael Malone had Jeremy Grant playing the five at one point Not only did he have Jeremy Graham playing the five a one point the Lakers double grant in the post at one point, and by the way, grant was damn good. Last night, 26 points Good. Monte Morris had 14 off the bench. Michael Porter Jr had nine points, six rebounds to assist in Tuesday. Lt's So if you want to call these guys, the others go right ahead. Just know that the guys that aren't Joker or Jamal showed up huge last night. They're more than just two stars. What the stars did show up, especially Jamal 28 12 assists, eight rebounds to steals. And this bit of filth hasn't.

"With head coach Michael Malone before tonight's game against the Clippers and coach. I was listening in the postgame show after that last game, and you know you're right. It was a game you could have one. But you know, at the end of the day when you get down to this few teams left in the N B. A great teams are great teams for a reason. And you know what? They just they found a way to do it. Yeah, You have to give them credit. No doubt they are vory team. I just felt the two crucial runs one being at the end of the second quarter, 12 to Lakers and the clothes again pulled the six Lakers. Those were deciding runs on. I felt their offense could have been a lot better turnovers down you. She could have been better and obviously could have been defensively. But you know they convention ways and all this day about sound on that court, but I still see a we still feel is a team that we let one go tonight. Now that's our challenge going into Game four. Let's get that game back. And even this Syriza did the fast break points. Surprise you. Obviously, that's the first time in the playoffs. That NOAA number was even close to being that I 30,000 points is ah, a real number. That is a very disconcerting You don't want to give up no more than 15 best points little on 30. Andi. Obviously I turned over steal their break that times, uh, steals a double team, the coal on the bounce, they're able to force him into seven turnover That is very unlike Nicola. And they turn those into easy points. But we watched the film. We have a better job of sprinting back, stopping the ball locating their shooters, and I think players realise the importance of that going into tonight's game make that team play in the half court. Coach Jamal Murray has been getting the business by a bunch of people that don't understand the game of basketball. But what everybody needs to understand is that for a big large part of the game he's got Paul George Kawai Leonard Patrick Beverly on. I mean, you know, come on, get real people. I mean, Jamal, was you looking against Utah you have is 32 points. A gain 50 plus in the field, But keep us from three and we don't get past your jobs without Jamal Sorority was Unbelievable. And then we're going to the second round against a big, tough, deep, defensive minded Clipper team. As you mentioned they have the ability to throw all defensive players at 48 minutes. I don't top of that. When I'm not playing a one on one with allied with Patrick Beverly and Paul George, they start double teaming them. They get in a ball out of his hands. So I think last game he had nine assists, only two turnovers. I talked him. I think you can even have more assists because they're putting two on him so much. He suspected off the ball quickly and trust his teammates. Then that's like you. Don't listen to people. This is your job. I don't read the sports pages. I don't read the Internet because people sometimes don't have a very good understanding of what your mom or he's trying to go through and how much he's trying to give to this team into the city. Coach. You bring up assists. And now listen. I understand that. You know, when you put a dude into a game, he doesn't think to himself. I was checking in like a man. I think I'm gonna go out there Mr Shots right now. But having said that What is aggravating is when Joker gets double teamed, and he makes the right play out of that most of the time. And then you know his teammates don't make him them pay for the double team. That's frustrating to guys like me. Yeah, I think it's rather frustrating to Nicola, the state a lot of people because Echo is making the right play. He's got two defenders on him broken Ln the find the open man, and the only way you're going to stop them from putting you on the ball is if you do make them stay, for example, we won Game two. They were doubling Jamal and Nicole in the fourth quarter, and Gary Harris stepped up in a three big three stress which enabled us to hold on for that win. So they continue to put you on Jamal and two on the coal and we don't make them pay. We're only going to see more of the same, so the guys have to step up. We had a ton of open looks last game. You know, I was in Germany and Jamal really struggled to make shots. There were four of 12 on threes that were considered wide open for the nearest defender was more than 60 it away. So you're generating good looks at what you can ask. For now we just have to step in and knocked him down. But we can stop getting frustrated Coach last question for you. But in what n ba world we live in where Evita Zoo bots all due respect gets more free throw attempts than Nicole, you OK? Welcome to the bubble baby coming. That's why I thought it was just, you know, honest, made by Patrick Beverley after the game that was saying they've been brought to me by so many different people, So it's hard to ignore it because people bring it to you all the time. But Nicola shot less free throws and robots. We shot 10. They shot 26. There's no real story there, but, yeah, I think Nicola Being a first team all MBA center, you know, and getting as much as they used to, not like He's just out there and we don't play and I give him the ball. He's got the ball whole lot and obviously, hopefully tonight he can get to the free throw line and allow us to set our defense because That was definitely the beneficial for us on both ends before. Well, I mean, you know how average where you want to put it. I hope he flails his way into. Ah, it's victory tonight. Good luck Coach appreciated their areas. Head coach Michael Malone. We have tip off right around the corner on the altitude radio network. Denver.
Nuggets' Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray lead improved energetic effort to beat Clippers in Game 2
"Yesterday the nuggets lead. wire-to-wire top the clippers tie the series at one game apiece a little surprising sure I mean they got off to a huge lead and held onto the victory lead biggest takeaway from the nuggets game two victory over lic. So many positives take of this from Denver they jump. The clippers gave him the off punch in the mouth from the start, which is to say it was led by their styles, Jamal and nickel Yokich. They got lots of contributions from other guys as well. MILLSAP I thought was good in this game. Gary. Harris Marco Porter Jr. coming off the bench gays in the middle of a lift as well and even rant. Jeremy Grant was their defense I thought was exceptional. There was a several times where the clippers were in the pint and there was two or three Denver Nuggets, contesting shot blocking shots, and really making the clippers feel them in the paint, which is important. But the biggest takeaway for me is we knew the clippers we're GONNA come back. This is a twenty point late in the first half and it. was like in the NBA that never lost especially in the playoffs. The biggest question for me would the nuggets be able to hold onto this game and win it, and there was a crucial moment that minutes ago in the fourth quarter I think it was Po Georgia to three brought to a five point game and that was the sliding doors moment of the game. What would the nuggets through from? And began to our and just show that that first quarter net hop surge was nothing more than like. All right. We don't get swept all would they actually be able to maintain what they've played up to for that point and they did they came out and hit three threes after that and basically stretch the game out and Kinda sealed it from there. You know like it was sort of sent the message that the clippers like we're. Not going away and and again, it wasn't just Murray and Yokich was other guy is contributing and so to me it did sort of say, Oh, I, picked I, think the clippers to win this five. But after watching that performance in the way that they won that wire to wire, I'm a little more now convinced that the the the nuggets can make this series and an an a longer series I still think clip is ultimately win it. But if it goes six or seven, now, I wouldn't be surprised because I just thought that the Denver Nuggets after Guy Wander the first quarter they thought it off well, and then they just Kinda sunk from there and Michael Malone said we need to have better energy for the entire game and they absolutely did last night. So very impressive performance from everyone yokich again was great and so is Mary but really important that those other. Guys contribute and make this more than just a sort of a like a like a run in that first quarter just to get just to get system, they actually sustain that the entire game. So that's what I thought was most important for the nuggets at the something there that they can build on going forward in this
Michael Malone -- Shame on NBA for not allowing coaches' families in bubble
"Nuggets coach Mike Malone went after the NBA, on Friday, calling their policy of not allowing coaches to bring family into the bubble quo criminal in nature. So you're speaking to reporters ahead of game two and Malone answered a different question about the bubble by saying, he needed to get something off of his chest. So let's play the clip is day number sixty and and the reason I bring that up is because The players have their families here, which which they deserve, which is the right thing to do. Referees are allowed to being one guest, which is great for the referees. The coaches, the coaches are not allowed to bring anybody. I say shame on you NBA. This is crazy. I. Miss My family and I think I speak for me speak for my coaches and probably all the coaches down here sixty days and not having access and not being granted the privileged to have my family come here to me is criminal in nature and that shouldn't be Jin at all so I want to get that off my chest. So. Nuggets coach Mike Malone very upset there I know some other coaches sort of a you know had his back with these comments. Tasks way. What do you think is Malone overreacting is fair. What's your opinion? Well, let's just clear this scenario here just to make sure everybody's got it. Straight the players didn't have their families until this round either so they went. Fifty fifty five sixty days without seeing their families either and thinking back. I. It's Kinda surprising that they didn't demand that from the beginning or or at least a lot earlier right. So other twenty, two teams that came down there. Now, there's only eight fourteen of the teams didn't see their families whatsoever but now to to Michael Malone's part of it because it is surprising that. The players are allowed. So about fifteen of the thirty five people that come with each organization, the fifteen players get their families to come with them but the other twenty don't, and that's surprising a really surprising that I I didn't know the referee ruled that the refusal. To know that at all, I'm not sure win that took place if if that was from the beginning or what, but it would make sense for the coaches to have somebody a significant other possibly there are there are probably they're older as well most of these coaches. So a lot of them probably don't have little kids that would wanna be down the bubble, but significant other would make sense and and I'm just surprised looking back. We didn't go. We talked about the hundred and thirty five page manual over and over and over again in the months of April and May and June while this was happening. And all the rules and know we weren't really up in arms about it because we know it's a players league and they get first crack at everything about looking back. Yeah. It would be make sense not just for the coaches and the party to have somebody there but the players as well from the beginning and. I don't I'm not I'm not gonna get nickel and dime in think this hotel room is gonNa cost much I. Know It's costing the the NBA A lot, but they can afford to put up. Or even. An older these coaches are older may not even cost them another hotel room they could just be in the same hotel. Now I'm nickel and diming make sense that have their families there at least. One or two people they don't have to have a cousin Joe and cousin bill come on but at least their their their nuclear core family. That would that would make sense. So I'm with I Echo I echo coach Michael Malone. Salon couple months, but they probably should have had it for the whole time and not even now? Well, no, you can't say I don't think we can say they everybody should have had it from the whole from the jump from the start because we let's try and remember like months ago how insane like this ideal even was and whether it was even going to work and we were pretty convinced the more people you try to add into the bubble, the less likely it is going to be successful. So that meets sense like I'm sorry guys you are going to be away from your. Family's players included I. Think we're the frustration is coming from with the coaches and I think rightfully is it sounded like the NBA at the time when they're making the manual going through all the logistics and say, okay, well, the players like you know if they're here the playoffs, they can bring people down coaches. We don't WanNa lock that in right now because we're not convinced this whole experiments going to work this whole campus things going to work, but we will revisit it. That's what it sounded like they sort of said to them they didn't say no, you never see your family again. You want coach come down here and your coaching. It sounded like, yeah, that might be a possibility. We'll put that on the side burner and then we'll revisit that and now we're at the point to revisiting it and they have decided that they're not going to do it and it sort of probably you're a coach down there going look this is working. This is a safe you know why can't we now the coaches that remain here with now opening up of rooms and stuff like that I think. That's a fair like frustration if I was a coach.

"Guess I would have a different perspective on it. So that's good. Your humble you keep things in perspective. When you win the gold in 2022, then you're going to be wearing it around right? Oh, yeah, For sure. Where that everywhere. Wait. We want figure skating and you're all your credit. You're also incredibly graceful. And and you see you all seem like Just amazing human beings. I'm getting the vibe from you. They that you're as advertised, but behind the scenes Brady like when An athlete from Russia or something is walking by you. You know, D do you say anything is their trash talking among figure skaters. Um Certainly not from my end. I think there's like a mutual respect that we all have for each other because You know to be at these high level events and to compete at this level all the athletes in the locker room and backstage, but we all know what it takes to get there. Andi think we all have kind of a mutual understanding that we all love what we do. And at the end of the day, we're all just there because we love it on because we love to compete, So I think there's kind of like an unspoken come on camaraderie between everybody. And that's the Olympic spirit. Right? That's what it's about that no matter where, what country you come from, no matter what is going on in the countries that you come from you all come on the one big stage all respect each other in the you know, in the spirit of competition, and everything like that, like the Olympic spirit is a really thing, right? Oh, yeah, For sure, For sure. I mean, I have so many friends from all over the world, and I think that's so cool and it's It's a very unique thing that I have. Um, I've been ableto have in my life now for Gosh, probably. I think my first international was when I was 15 for like, seven years on. I feel so incredibly lucky that I've had these amazing opportunities. You know that. Not everybody gets tohave. Griner. You're goingto compete again was the calendar look like Um, you know, so far are grand pretty season is still on except it's going to be a little bit different this year, so I I'm believe it's going to be like domestic. Um, but skate America is going on in Las Vegas. I think the third week of October so be on the watch for that. Yeah, we definitely well with all these sports coming back, we You know we're all taking all of these in and watching them maniacally, and when you guys get back out there to compete. Will consume it as maniacally as any of these other sports. Brady really appreciate you taking some time. I know that. You know you're an Olympian, so your schedule is pretty tie as you're getting ready. For 2022. I certainly appreciate it. Welcome to Colorado Springs and we'll see you around, I guess. Yeah, Yeah. Thank you so much for having me. My pleasure. Brady will talk to you very soon. Brady Tunnel joining us here on drive time sports. If you see her in the safe way, just like say, hi door. OK, make her feel welcome. Here in car offsprings. It never ceases to blow my mind. When you hear about the athletes who not on Ly come to train here but live here. And we had quite a few of Brady's teammates like Marai, Nagasu like Lexus, and Chris can Arum. Hat on the program leading up to the last Winter Olympics. And they're just right here in our backyard. It just never ceases to amaze me. Will the number ofthe elite world class athletes that air just like down the street? And I certainly appreciate Brady taking time. Tio come on, and I appreciate everybody at U. S figure skating for making that happen. We've been trying to make it happen for A few days now, and I'm glad it it got done. So thanks to Michael and everyone there at U. S figure skating that was cool to get Brady to No. One. 5 to 29872. I guess this gives us a chance to kind of shift. Here's a little bit. We got game one Nuggets and the Clippers coming up at 6 30. Let's hear from Michael Malone in the last few minutes that we have Together. I hears. Michael Malone on a couple things first. I talked about this during wine Ahmad that the one player that I feel supremely confident that's going to be able to get his numbers is Nicole Yokich. And Michael Malone after practice was asked about Whether Nicole Yokich is the guy on the court that has a decided advantage over the L. A Clippers Here's clip number eight. I think every serious Nicole Yokich has an advantage. You know, He's a great player. He's a first team All N Ba Center, the best center in the MBA. So regardless of who we play, I think Nicole has always gotten advantage because of Who he is and how talented he is. No, But you know, the Clippers present a lot of problems. As I mentioned they have a tremendous depth and the other perimeter to give guys like Jamal Murray different looks. Last time we played them. They had Kawai autumn They had pulled George on. They had Patrick Bradley on him, so we will have to find ways to help Jamal. Get up and get quality looks. Yes, McCall Yolks will have to be a focal point of our offense. I look to be very aggressive in terms of scoring the ball on say, how do we know we guard a great three point shooting team, a team that is one of the leading leaders in isolation place for game for guys like, Oh, I pulled George Williams. In defending them without fouling is gonna be huge, limiting their free throws jumps, but, um Our biggest challenge, I think is how do we go from emotional high last night and get rammed up to play a game one tomorrow night without being a lead out Because if there's a letdown we've seen what Ella Khun duty teams there. There. There are Well, the talented team is going to a great challenge for us collectively. Other than that the Clippers are pretty garbage. Oh, I mean, we're under no misconceptions. Right? I mean, this was the stage that we wanted the Nuggets to be on. We didn't We didn't know how they would D'oh. But this is the stage that we wanted them to be on that they should have been on. And now here we are. I think it will be very interesting to see How things get matched up. I think Jeremy Grant has done a really good job in the past against Kawai, and I think he did a good job against Kawai in the bubble game..

"Not attacking. Any particular person. Or group. He just spouting some crazy right wing theories. And while I wonder very much. The Household day. He's that he grew up in and the people that he's associating with that This is a common thought process. Don't I don't know that we should rake him over the coals. Gasp at his Clear Miss Education on the subject. He's not trying to hurt anyone. You know, we've been dealing with Racist comments, anti Semitic comments These Aren't that So While it is baffling. That a young, college educated man would say such things. Not the worst thing. That people have said. That NBA players have said in recent times. Michael Malone was asked about Michael Porter's comments and whether they were a distraction for his team. Here's Malone on M. P. J. Yeah, It's not a distraction for me. You know? Obviously I'm not the thought. Police. I'm not gonna tell anybody players, but they can and can't say all I would say is that just be Sensitive Tio current Situation in our country and throughout the world in regards secure on the virus, But um Michael Porter and any other player in a roster rod, they're entitled to their opinions, their intelligence and their ability to have free speech. And I will respect that. Anthony puts it perfectly there. You're allowed to say stupid things. But when it gets to the point that you're attacking people Or deliberately hurting people with your words, then that's when somebody needs to step in and say this is not okay. It's ah And to Michael Malone's point. You. You have to know the room. Okay, so some Yahoo on your Snapchat. I want you to weigh in on How overblown the corona virus pandemic is. Don't take the bait. Don't take the bait. You're in Orlando in a bubble because of this pandemic. There are people around you. Who are risking Their health, the health of people around them or they're leaving their families for a period of time. There's people who have lost loved ones because of this The problem. I have More on on top of everything else. Is that in It would be so easy for him. Did you say Man. Things are crazy right now. Crazy stuff going on. That's it. Maybe we kind of tilt her head and be like, What do you mean by that? But Michael Porter's trying to come off as the smartest guy in the room. And saying those things And that's the price he could have. Nobody would have blamed Michael Porter Jr and said, Oh, really miss opportunity for Michael Porter to bring delight the mass conspiracy to control the population. Through the Corona virus pandemic. Nobody would have said that if you just said Yeah, I don't know the easiest thing to do right now. And I'll raise my hand on this, and I think a lot of us are guilty of this. It's so easy for us to say I'm not a health expert, and and we should do more of that. Right. I think we as a society on both sides should raise our hands and like I don't know. I'm not. I'm not a health expert. I'm listening to this health expert, but I'm not a health expert. And that's what Michael Portage and then he went into the vaccines. It's just not not a smart thing to say it's insensitive. It can be potentially hurtful. To some people. Fight. Given what some athletes have said. Over the last few weeks. Especially when it comes to the Jewish population. I could just dismiss Michael Porter as Just a kid saying some really dumb stuff that he heard on You know, red on a message board somewhere, whatever. 5 to 2987 to your thoughts on Michael Porter Junior's comments Michael Malone had Mohr to say today not on Michael Porter. Jokic, Grant lead Nuggets to a 117-104 win over Wizards
"Six in a row for the nutty how bout that yeah I love that they are getting it done they beat the wizards one seventeen to one oh four Jeremy grant off the bench with a season high twenty points to coach Michael Malone will take the W. but he knows there's plenty of room for improvement you build a twenty point lead in the third quarter long we had ten turnovers fifteen points and that's what the fourth the fifth time this year when we built lead and just did not execute or handle the ball and value the ball at a high enough level so we have to be a lot better in that regard but we scored that many points in the second our defense was really good we didn't turn it over we got out and ran after the second unit was really good for us nuggets at Sacramento

Michael Malone rightfully calls out Nikola Jokic after late-game ejection

"Head coach Michael Malone. Loved the return of the D guys. Understood losing three in a row the numbers that we've been allowing would not anywhere close to the standards that we set for. Self defense starts from the ball. I thought did a good job of picking up making them feel as early Mason. Plumlee was everywhere. I thought Nicole was really active in his pick and roll defence. And we got some great multiple effort possessions, Nicola Yokich at twenty three points and twelve rebounds. Melik Beasley twenty three points nuggets. Got win. They had to have one more game before the all-star break. Sacramento comes to town tomorrow night in football. Just breaking now on Twitter multiple reports saying that the Houston Texans are expected to release wide receiver Thomas for whom they traded with the Denver Broncos earlier this season. So DT looks like he will be on the market. Of course, he tore his achilles. And he's recovering from that is been trophy winning quarterback Cuyler Murray from Oklahoma will enter the NFL draft tweeting yesterday he is giving himself full-time to becoming an NFL quarterback. The Oakland A's drafted Murray ninth overall last summer as manager Bob Melvin said they were hardly surprise. By Murray's decision. It was a Heisman Trophy winner. So do you do all you, can you know, obviously, we draft him for reason. Like I was saying earlier, but I it's not a shock to me. So, you know, we still have the rights to them, but looks to be he's going to have a nice little football career. And and we are going to be rooting for them Murray was scheduled to report for spring training with the as in four days the Browns signed former chiefs running back Kareem hunt NFL still yet to rule on that shocking. Video that showed hunt kicking and beating a woman earlier this year that prompted his release from the chiefs. And when that investigation is done expect some sort of pretty heavy suspension. One would think Rockies pitchers and catchers officially reporting to Scottsdale today. What will the future hold for John gray will explore.

"Shoes next week for a holiday edition because you know, me as your hey taken weeks off, you know, I know people like to celebrate holidays and so forth not here at open floor. We we are gonna continue the content rolling throughout the holiday breaks. So you know, I won't spoil the surprise. But I'm sure people be very excited about who have got lined up. All right. Well, for now Colby says the nuggets are unreal right now, they are missing three starters that usually means struggles or about to hit hard but not for Denver. They just keep winning and with Yokich leading the charge and playing phenomenal basketball. I'm wondering should we be putting Yokich in serious and the conversations then what say you? I feel like this is a. Pivotal stage of any superstars evolution in the NBA. Like before you become a real MVP candidate, you have to go through this trial phase where you're sort of quote unquote in the conversation and your ear like a token inclusion in any serious discussion about VP. Do you feel like that's where we are with Yokich? Or is that selling short? I don't know. Do we call this like the memorial? Isaiah Thomas conversation pollution. I mean as what we call it. Yeah. Absolutely. Here's where I feel about Yogesh. First of all, it's nice that nuggets. Coach Michael Malone is emailing in with the nickname Colby. We discovered his burner account because within seconds of that Email coming in Michael Malone was trying to start the same conversation. I wrote a little bit about, you know, Yokich this week shameless plug at the Washington Post he had a really nice game on Tuesday night against Dallas that I thought showed off what would be his sort of MVP conversation. Shen case he's pounding guys in the post with these great pump fake moves ducats sweeping finishes left. And right. He's stepping out to the three point line canning three pointers. He's pump fakey from the three point line taking one or two dribbles getting himself in for the nice, you know, mid range touch shots going left or going, right. He is clearing the defensive glass, turning pivoting and just rocketing outlet passes to create offense in transition. He's working his tail off defensively, and it doesn't always look pretty it doesn't always get the job done. But he he's working really hard this season on that end as well. And there's no question about it. He is the lifeblood of that franchise. He's on pace to become the first seven footer since Wilt Chamberlain in nineteen sixty eight to average seven assists per game. That's ridiculous. And it's not surprising because of how much offense of their offense revolves around what he's doing. I think. For the MVP conversation, though. Let's not disrespect Jaanus. Okay. Jaanus is playing out of his freaking mind this season. I think the conversation starts with him. I think LeBron's right there in the mix. But I do think Yokich belongs on that buffer. Because like Hobie rightly mentioned, he's kept him a float through a lot of tough injuries injuries. That would have sabotage their seasons in previous years. And frankly, did like the nuggets were not the same team last year without Millsap this year Millsap goes down, and they had this sort of unwavering belief because most nights Yokich is the best player on the court. Well, yeah. And it's not just Millsap. I mean, they're missing Gary Harris, they've missed will bargain for two and a half months now and Yokich has has kept it rolling. I don't think he deserves all the credit. I think some of the other guys up there like Tori, Craig has come out of nowhere over the last year and a half to be pretty useful for them and watch o'hearn Gomez is also pretty useful depending on the night. Andrew isn't that one of those signs of an MVP level where you've got these random guys who all look good because they're playing with them? Yeah. That's true. I just think that the nuggets have done a nice job stocking that roster like Gary Harris goes down and Malee. Beasley is a guy who I've loved for two years. He finally gets shot and he's been playing well for them when they need him and knows not only start the Rostro. They've also had some addition by subtraction moves of guys who are maybe not totally bought into the team culture there over these last couple of years, and I think when you're getting in more of these guys who are hungry and trying to find a b rolls and trying to make name for themselves that winds up helping.
NBA: Nuggets' Jamal Murray drops 48 on Celtics

I tell you nineteen points in the fourth because he ended up with a career high forty eight to end the game nuggets. Head coach Michael Malone on Dubov Murray's ever into a big basket the whole night throughout the game. And even when they tried to turn out the pressure. He found ways to get to the rim. "To i read a story actually today online about how it's been difficult for the minnesota coach sibito to get them to buy into a defensive mindset and i had to go back to the headline and see if they're actually writing about the denver they're they're two very similar and he's you know he's a coach that has really made his mark from the celtics to the bulls to now the minnesota on defense of principles and being one of the better defense of teams in the league so i think that shows michael malone is not alone in his efforts historical efforts so far to turn the nuggets into a defensive juggernaut this one is the biggest game that malone has coached in denver industry seasons and i think it's the biggest game denver has had since george karl was fired in two thousand thirteen if they can win this game you not only pick up a full game one of the teams ahead of you you plant that seed of doubt into the timber wolves because you gotta go back to minnesota and play them next week so this is a this is as big as it has been here at pepsi center in a while which speaks to their struggles the last two years and i like him tonight i think the nuggets play really well tonight i think they beat the timber wolves and then it's gonna come down to you know i think you have to go three and one over these last four and two of those wins against minnesota to get in but the nice thing is if you do win all four which your plenty capable of doing your in regardless and so i don't think this is a bad spot for the nuggets really good challenge for a young team that i think is starting to figure out who it is they have an identity now and it starts with nikola yokich so paul i've been locked brian's got me on board i've been locked into the nuggets for probably the last couple of months paying attention really hard to every game but your job ryan the.
