"Of the season. Yeah. I don't know though. I mean, it is what it is, right? I think you had the chiefs that kind of three quarter speed. They're just kind of trying to stay ahead enough in order to keep the hopes of the number one seat alive and like I did not see a notable remember when Hugh Jackson was fired and then the browns just went absolutely hair on fire with Greg Williams and Freddie kitchens calling the plays. I don't think this was that. I didn't get that. The Broncos played the way that they played all year, but Russell Wilson ran for some touchdowns. And they got a red zone pick and they got, again, the muffed punt turnover to set up a touchdown. That was a great one. By the way. It was. They're a good defense. They got good players. Jaguars, Texans. All right, so the Jaguars get it set up for the AFC south title game with the Titans next week. Not a whole lot to get into for this one. You know, Trevor Lawrence had the toe injury coming in and just didn't really have to do a whole lot because the Texans offensively did not do anything. And then the run game had a real big day for the Jaguars here. Everyone scored stupid Connor scored. Michael hasty scored. Travis Etienne had a 62 yard touchdown run. Good day for the Jaguars. This was sort of the, I mean, we've had a couple home run plays, but not nearly as many as I would have thought out of Travis Etienne this year, but this was the first time where I think we saw what that can do to an opposing defense 'cause he's just so fast and when he gets second level, he's just absolutely gone. And I love the fact that I mean, again, home run run plays are not something you manufacture the things that just sort of happened. But if you can, if we can start to build that confidence, like if he breaks one more tackle, I think he is someone who can be a legitimate playoff altering presence. I really do. I think this run game can be really special. If hasty at the goal line, I really do think that this is something that could change. I'm much more afraid of Jacksonville in the AFC like sneaking in as that dangerous team than the packers sneaking in at the bottom of the NFC. Yeah. I agree. Rams, chargers. So the rams come back down to earth a little bit in this one. The thing that if you didn't watch this game and you're looking at the box score numbers, you're pumping out blown away by what the Chargers did offensively. Obviously they ran the ball really well, and that's all good, awesome Eckler continues to be very good. That passing game. It's starting to move its way upfield. It's starting to look like what it should look like when you have Justin Herbert's quarterback. Obviously, Mike Williams and Keenan Allen being back in healthy has a lot to do with that. But this looks like it is trending up and very quickly up for the Chargers. Yeah, I liked a lot of the things that they did today. I thought their back, you know, being able to manufacture touches for players. I thought got better than I've seen it in the last few weeks. I thought the offensive line play doh okay and I thought the way that they were able to test deep test often test early. I just think that's a good precedent to set for Justin Herbert, where it's kind of mahomes eating the fact that it's like, hey, this guy's got a rocket. We're just gonna show it off on the first or the second drive and just remind you that we can do this at any time if we so choose and we have a very good deep threat. And worst case scenario, he's probably pretty good at drawing a pass interference out of this. So I love the combination of all those things and then plus when you have Eckler just such an underrated weapon really is. Bears lions. Some wines take care of business and the bears look perfectly happy to clinch that number two pick in the draft. But yeah, for the Lions, big day for the offense, they give up some Justin Fields moments on defense, but again, just a nice team here. And if they beat the packers next week and the rams knock off the Seahawks, they would go to the playoffs. I am very happy for the lines. I really hope it happens. I wonder if you're the bears what you do here. This is gonna sound like wildly contrarian and inappropriate, but are you are you locked in with fields next year? Are you ready to go? Yeah, I think so. And I think the question is, is it at the point where it's even close to being questioned or not? Look, I think even if you, he's not a lock, I think there's obviously enough to move forward with him. I just don't think there is a I love Bryce young, I take price young over him, but I probably wouldn't take what is over him just because levis is such a question mark. And there's just no one else he'd really put in that conversation. So you sit there, you know, the move is probably you start to reload the entire thing, hopefully someone comes up and wants lettuce or something like that, and then you restock, well, basically the entire roster outside of the quarterback at this point. But, you know, it's a good spot for them to be in. I think it's a trade noun spot for them. And you go from there. Cardinals, falcons. Yeah, this is it. It was so bad. A Desmond Ritter. What else do you want? I just, I appreciated that young hoi coup, he had the game winning kick. It was like a 20 yard field goal or whatever it was to win it 20 to 19 as time expired. And it was just the most muted like he kicked it through and kind of like got a high 5. It just looked like a PAT. Was the reaction to it. There is no big celebration afterwards, but it doesn't Ritter gets a win here, and the falcons move to 6 and ten. They don't really, I was gonna say like, oh, they moved to 6 and 9 and avoid no, they already have ten losses here. So nobody, nobody won in this game. I finally figured out who the falcons head coach looks like. Do you want to follow me here on this? Yes. He looks like what Andy from Toy Story would grow up to be as a person. All right. That's pretty good. It's got a very Andy from Toy Story face. Yeah. But yeah, this game was just unwatchable. And you saw the extra points in the field goals during this one and it was just like half a dozen people just sitting there like it was, I can't say TCU, it's probably like, I don't know, what are bad college football teams now? I've logged off college football. College football teams. Like a Rutgers Maryland type of game. Yeah. Oh, poor rice. Piscataway in November. Oh, yeah. Yeah, this was, this was bad, but glad everybody's glad that game's over. This game was awful and unwatchable, but the good thing is, is that it's not still happening. Drake London's good though. Yeah, I don't know. They got maybe something cooking in Atlanta if they find a quarterback. I don't know if Desmond river is the guy or not, but boy.

I let everybody down, including myself. I said, we should start Curtis Samuel. And then he went out and had four carries for 13 yards, no targets. I say, how many targets did he get? None. He played like 60% of the offensive snaps had no targets, four carries for 13 yards. So I am sorry. I don't know what happened. This week. We're turning it around. We're going with Damien pierce. FanDuel running back 23, it costs 6500 Cleveland ranks 30th against RBs, their 23rd in rushing yards allowed and 30th in points allowed per game. Pierce has to be more involved in this game if they want a chance to win and this is the NFL. So I know fans talk about teams tanking and all that stuff. But we have to remember these players don't want a tank because they have to put out they have to showcase themselves for future teams. There are players. You're playing for jobs. Yeah, the coaches don't want a tank. Because they're not going to be around anymore if you lose. So this is a team that doesn't want to lose. So if you want to win, Damien Pearson needs to carry this offense. He could be very low ownership coming up just because he's had what? Three and four points in the last couple of weeks. So people are going to be hesitant to play him. So it could be a good opportunity to jump on that with the low salary. He was cheaper than like Jim Michael hasty. Yeah, he's dropping down in money here. The pure situation, like you said, I think that's why I bills fans are so crazy because when they were in the drought, that's when I'll stop loving you as a fan and as a player when you're going out there and not trying no matter the situation. "It was going to have the distance. Yeah, I just don't, I think I've said this on the podcast before I used to work for the NFL and we went to the last Pro Bowl in Hawaii and Justin Tucker was down there and I used to kind of just tag along with the social media team, Bryce Gustafson, who is the NFL's director of social media is really cool guy. And they used to let me come along and hang out with them. And I remember watching them just do stuff with Justin Tucker, like in the middle of practice, they were kind of just hanging out, whatever, whatever. And it's the most incredible. One of the most incredible things that I've ever seen in terms of just pure athleticism and the mastery of your craft, the guy is just unbelievable. So yeah, when I saw the kick go off and it looked so good. Everything looked perfect 'cause it was the back. It was the angle from behind where he was, everything looked right on that thing. I was like, oh, this is definitely in. No, no doubt in my mind. But, you know, even Michael Jordan, misses a few jump shots. I know. There was, I think it was a slightly longer run up for him that he took too. It was very nicely done. I just couldn't believe he missed it. That's just not what we're used to at this point. It's hard to put that on him too. You know what I mean? We've been like, we're to the point where it's like, oh, Justin Tucker can't hit this 70 yard field goal, you know? But, you know, that's also compliment to him, right? That he's that good. He's that talented. It's like watching Steph Curry like launch a 40 footer contested 40 footer and you're just like, yeah, of course going in. Wow, it rimmed out. And that was kind of it. The story of this game, look, I am, I don't want to call it a Trevor Lawrence bandwagon because there can't really be a bandwagon for a guy who was considered a generational quarterback prospect. But he is playing so exceptionally well. And my favorite throw of his and he had a great two minute drive with no time out at the end of this game, or I think they had one time out to put the winning points on the board and then they get the two point conversion to win it. He had a throw. And it's probably going to go as a turnover worthy play because I think it did end up hitting a defensive back first, but he had to throw where he was sprinting left. And again, just one of those things. It's mahomes, Ian, the flexibility, and just the pure velocity coming out from a body position that it's just like, all right, well, this should not result in anything good. And it would have been a downfield completion down the left sideline had Christian Kirk knots or lost his footing and then ended up hitting a defensive back and was a dropped interception in the end, but it was such a stupidly good throw and just, again, his talent is just through the roof and it's coming together now. Like it's happening. It's happening right as Jackson DeVille is dotting the USA speedo and everything is just coming everything's coming up Jaguars. This is very exciting. It's very exciting time. Jamaica hasty, by the way. Another one where when Travis Etienne gets the foot sprain, not coming back into that game and he was spectacular. I admittedly did not know a lot about Jim Michael hasty before this game. Yeah, he was really good in this, and obviously they just went out and got Daryl Henderson because obviously they had traded James Robinson and they want some depth behind ETN for the reason we saw today with the injury. But yeah, he see if this is kind of like nearing the end here. This is not a bad way to kind of go out, put this on tape and unless some other teams see it. But yeah, he might have, he might have earned himself another contractor to going forward here. The ravens offensively still just don't really have a whole lot of answers aside from Lamar Jackson doing really good things with the ball in his hands. I was, I guess not surprised, Gus Edwards was back. I liked the juice that Kenyan Drake kind of brought as a compliment to Lamar Jackson, whereas Gus Edwards is very much he gets what the scheme presents to him. He's very much a north south straightforward runner. There just was no real big play element. Not that you should be leaning on a big play element in your run game, but it just didn't feel like they were going to break anything in this one. And Edwards obviously lost a big fumble as well, but I was a little bit bummed to see Kenyan Drake take a back seat to Edwards here. Yeah. I will say that it was a day for creative QB sneaking. We did see the ravens twice. Once successful and once not get into that, that rugby formation and but then they ran Lamar and kind of like a bootleg. He took a hesitation step and then he found an outside gap and then he allowed them to rumble down the field. I think he gained like 12 or 13 yards on it once pretty neat, but yeah, it lacks the, when they first started rolling out this offense and Lamar was Lamar and this is how it was. And maybe you don't do it as much when you have when you're playing kind of athletic front like you are with Jacksonville today, but the whole thing used to have a lot more rhythm. It all felt very tied in and this is now more of a sort of like a frantic, especially when they're behind late in the game. There's just a frantic Ness to it. You know what I mean? What's the difference between a in potent chutney. Chutney usually have a first of all turn comes from india. Originally chutney has vinegar or tamarind or lemon juice or some kind of souring agent. Compote does not so one is like more sour. One is more sweet. Would be like yeah. Compote is just basically it's dude fruits with With sugar or honey mar. And the chutney usually has a souring agent a often has chilies in it. What would you use a chutney with lifezette like pork pork into chutney. That goes along. Chutney would be. Chutney would be fantastic with pork. It would be That's a great with poultry of any sort. It's great with wild game component. I think of with my aunt annette sprays brisket. So i was. I'm really excited about it. It's going to be our first. Urban shoot a usually we shoot in a quiet country setting as you might have seen last year at the pearl stone retreat center. This time we're going to be in the heart of saint louis that the the old union station so i'm really excited about that. We have some great guests. We have more mystery boxes. I figure when i just talk about him. A little more than names in pop in my head So he's not as small as a as a tariq cohen by yet he could do a whole lot a whole lot more damage when running the ball. Mitchell had seven attempts to the right side of the often line for sixty four yards and a touchdown and then Left side wide left was seven attempts for twenty seven yards so is outside. Zone fits in well. He was explosive on those runs. He looked very very good. The niners have found something with this six round pick. And they're gonna need to perform. And they're all gonna trade sermons perform and their need to michael hasty to perform Where they do with another running back position. Maybe they've bring someone else in they cover with those three backs and jeff. Wilson is on the mend. You should be back by week six or you know week eight. That's a plus. Get him back over. The niners can survive these first six weeks. Just these three bags without having to go into the well of free agency or just other. Deebo nine receptions on twelve targets one hundred eighty nine yards and a touchdown had he not fumbled. He likely is the. I mean. he's probably still a player of the game. But he's definitely getting some player of the game recognition if that was if he didn't fumble that last reception he made dwell heard all the chatter. He's a extension of the run game. He's a glorified running back. No this is what we talked about. What i've been harping on with would him. He's more than that. He's going to be able to get down. The field deebo samuel. His average separation was three point. Nine eight according to next gen stats. The average for the league is two point. Eight seven yards. He literally had a yard more than the average and yes lobby was skimmed open. But a lot of is his route. Running into the ability to scrimmage and be guys to is point where he needs to get to in the routing touring and if you go look next gen stats with some of these charts. Divas route was absolutely beautiful So he's more than just this jets. We push past type of receiver. He's going to be able to get downfield run. Those jeff routes run those deep posts. Give jimmy garoppolo really good target to throw to I thought he had a hell of a game. He was really good in the run blocking and even blocking for george kit on on for his reception. So deebo gives you everything. I would've liked seila more. We'll get to that later. Deibel had himself a hell of a game. What i like about this. This game is seen him downfield seeing him in the third tier of a defense trying to break those tackles compared to having to get past the first here to the second tier then in the third tier. It's a It's an adjustment that you can't really get used to that quickly. So I think having a week out here World team bonding, you know, going to dinners and things like that. It always makes for a good week. Alright, who's buying the dinner? So that's the question? Yeah, we just went out last night. We are. We took care of it. A couple of couple of older guys, We got to take care of these young guys, man, you know? Wow, that's classic lot of times they stick into the rookie and be like, Hey, guess what, kid you're buying, you know? We had our rookie dinner. That was that was during camp. So we took care of that already. Did you just call yourself an old guy? Jimmy? Oh, hey, man. I mean, getting out there Now you know your eight inside their different game. Isn't that wild to think year eight. And it does it. Does that hit you? Kind of Does that like, Wow, When you look at these young kids walking in we had you on in the spring. And we talked about how young tray is in the musical references of the T V references. But you definitely look around the league now and you see yourself as one of the, uh, one of the veterans. Yeah, I mean, it's a I don't know. It's one of those things that you don't really realize it's going on. And all of a sudden you start talking to guys in the locker room and you know they don't They don't listen to music. They don't watch the same movies just, uh, things change. The How do you process the Raheem Mostert and Jason Verrett? Injuries, uh, for to start the season with those body blows. How are you guys talking about it? Yeah, It's a tough one, man. It really is just you know, you never want anyone get hurt, But, you know, just especially those two guys. I mean Ben with them for a little while now, JV just everything he's fought through to come back and Get to where he's at. And you know, he had a hell of a training camp how preseason he was, he was rolling. It's just It's so unfortunate that, uh, I don't know that's the nature of the beast, I guess, but I'm regime. The same thing just died. You know the guys in battling me and him last year kind of went through some injury stuff together. And it's just, uh, you know, it's just tough. I mean, there's no better way to put it. It sucks, but, uh, you know what we are. We have a deep team. We had a good group of guys who, you know, we'll bounce back and be ready to roll. Now you look in the back the back field room and you see Trey Sermon. Elijah Mitchell. Michael Hasty. These are young kids. So do you. Do you exert any kind of leadership on these guys? Now? What do you do as the QB? Yeah, I think you know. Naturally, that's just kind of happened. Like, uh, when he went down, we all kind of knew it on the sideline just went up to Elijah and haste. And you know, it kind of got them going a little bit Hasty is always ready to roll. I knew that from last year playing with him. Just keep that He's a gamer man. He was ready to roll. As soon as he got the call, and Elijah I mean, you guys start on game data, he came out ready to play. And when his number was called, he was ready. While he was for sure. And then in and we'll see what happens Sunday in Philadelphia. Let's talk a little bit before we get to the Eagles about the game. You guys got to win. It was huge, and and you had your longest touchdown pass of your career. Did you know that 79 yards was your longest? But I actually didn't. I mean, I didn't even know I threw a touchdown pass. And so I looked up. Be honest. Yeah, I heard you. You said you got it from the pile to see Debo crossing. Is that right? Yeah, There's a There's a pretty good pile of us, uh, helping a couple guys up there helping me up and turned over my shoulder. Me and Sharon Williams got together. We're like, Oh, all right, was it was kind of funny, actually. But you know, it's Devo made a hell of a play on it was good. And you look back on that play on film. You know the way the replays were showing you. You got a lot of praise for hanging in on that one is that Is that when you look in that film are you proud of the way you You got that throw off or do you still like, man? I could have put that in a different place. No. I was going for the back shoulder, saw the guy running with Tebow and he just He had no vision on me. And so I just want to give Devo chance with them. So we had one on one on the outside, you know, devoted the rest. But yet, uh Our lines are playing great man. They really gave me a lot of clean pockets. They helped me out of time just made my life easy made the run game easy, and whenever we could get rolling like that, it makes for a good day. How about this dude takes 2019 off, and, uh I mean, last year we It was one of those things where you realised, boy not having that catcher back there. Regardless of the offence. This guy can put up or had put up and had not put up in the previous couple of seasons. Regardless of that, or you separate that you go boy, the defense and the way he handled the pitching staff. Some we have not thought about for over a decade, so you don't have to worry about and he's not only like fantastic that back there where you don't think about it. He's Lou, probably the best, if not second, Best in the game behind Yadi Molina when it comes to how you handle a pitching staff as a catcher. He's just been the best in baseball Get capture, says he goes to him at times and asked his opinion on strategic situations in games and rights to pick busters brain and get his take. And Evan Longoria, I think is another one, a guy who he played with so Buster Posey back into the postseason, a guy who spent the first several years of his career going to the playoffs winning World Series. It's been a long time 2016. The last time Buster was in the playoffs, they asked him Um, how this felt Especial. It's been a while, Um you know, it's been five years, I guess since we've been able to do this, so, um, obviously, uh, like there's still more work to do, But I think it's important to celebrate just the opportunity to have to play in the playoffs and, uh, a lot of hard work going into it. And it was good to celebrate with everybody. Yeah, it was really cool. As far as the celebration goes, Gabe Kapler. We were talking about this earlier, the subdued celebration on the field. Which I think was Again. I think it was sort of the right way to do it. Just in that the Giants fans have bigger aspirations. Fans who are around now remember the World Series. It's not just like going to the post season is the end all be all. So while it's the first game capital and his staff wants the first for some of these young guys on this roster guys like Logan Web Marie should abandon. It was option down yesterday. But you've got guys who had not been to the postseason in a long time, if ever on this roster, and so you've got to have some celebration for game capture, talked a little bit about doing the celebration quite or On the field and then celebrating sort of behind the scenes bigger with each other. I maybe I I think these this is a pretty focused and even killed team or you've got Quite a few World Series champion World Series champions in that room, and, um people who understand that this is you know, one step in the direction that we want to go, but not the not the ultimate goal. Um and I thought it was. I thought it was celebrated appropriately by by our group on the field and probably a little bit more a little rowdier and You know, kind of getting after it a little bit more in the clubhouse, which is no 11. Good way to do 85 of the cash through Texas and Texans as Giants clinched in 2010 against the Padres, But it was on the last day still, But yeah, the potteries had a crap the bed like all of August. "They're going to run the football and that is just part of the system. I mean, just look back at the Mike Shanahan years with Denver and Washington. Different guy every year. And even this, you know, even with Kyle, you know four seasons that he's been the head coach. He's he's had four different leading rushers. And guess what? This year there will be 1/5 because I don't think it's don't think the leading Russia at the end of season is going to be Raheem Mostert, and I don't think the leading Russia at the end of season is going to be Jeff Wilson. So you know anybody other than the three guys that are going to be active on Sunday are going to be traced. Sermon ELISA, Malaysia, Mitchell and Michael Hasty. And again, I guess if it's uh if it's Elijah Mitchell stays healthy at this point. I think he's going to be the leading Russia this season, so no, I don't think it changes at all. And at some point help is going to be on the way to you know, they hope to get Mostert back middle of the season. Same thing with Jeff Wilson. They hope to get him back. So, uh, I just I think that the other their formula is with outstanding offensive line when it comes to run blocking in the actual yesterday. They're pretty good impact. Great yesterday. Yeah. Yeah. So with that run, blocking offensive line. It was basically 1/6 offensive lineman it in George Kittle. Now I don't think it changes at all. I think there that the formula stays the same, regardless of who it is that they're handing the ball off to Matt Male Co. Joining us as he does every week here on the Tolbert, Kruger and Brooks Show that nine or offensive line Open up holes in the run game, but Jimmy Garoppolo all sorts of time He had no pressure coming from the ends. He had no pressure coming from up the middle, which is always problematic for any quarterback, and I guess the The formula is, If Garoppolo has a clean pocket to operate in, he's gonna make some throws. He's gonna make some plays. That was the case yesterday. Yeah. I mean, I think that's you know any NFL quarterback That's probably the thing And I think he feeds well off of this formula. I mean, I don't think Jimmy is the kind of guy and we saw him. Do it in 2019, though, against the Saints in particular and It's the Rams and the Seahawks Games later in the season. You know, there were times where they put it on him. You know, Jimmy, go win a football game. I don't think that The standard, though you know, I don't think they do that every week. You know, it's kind of it's a I think they make it easy on him or easier on him because of The running game and just how everything fits together. And you know, the defense has always been strong. The defense yesterday certainly has a lot of room for improvement, but you know, there's there's always this kind of feeling that deal before year's defense is going to be good, so You know the worst thing there. I should say the, um you know, I'm a 3rd and 12. They can do a whole lot worse than drop loads, throwing the ball out of bounds and putting, you know and playing defense and getting the ball back and Going forward again. So, um, no, I think I think Rob Lowe. He's definitely coming off his best offseason, his best training camp. And I think we saw yesterday where he just He looked in control. He looks he looks good. He looks solid. He looked better than solid, so if they can get that kind of performance from him More times than not, or on a weekly basis. You know, he will keep Trey Lance at arm's length, I think throughout this season Maddie. You know, we Warner is incredible and green laws. Incredible. Uh, do do you think Greenlaw is going to go against Philly? And and to me that the big eye opener in this game was just How incredible. Um, as as these out Shakira has become, I mean, he just starts his people and he's so fast. He's so aggressive, but now he really knows the defense. He's playing fast. And he had, you know, I would say three or four impact hits where he separated the ball carrier or the receiver from the football talk a little bit about this linebacking corps. I mean, we all thought they were good, but I mean, if you're going to play like that, This might be the best linebacking corps or at least among them in the game. In just a young group. Two guys who just haven't been in the league all that long. You know the heat his final season in college. He had a CL tear, and it was just Heartbreaking for him because you know he grew up in a very rough situation, the homeless for a period of time, and he kind of saw football as his Skills that was kind of the end game and and he had the terror he would have been probably a mid round draft pick. That year, The 49 ers ended up sending him as a free agent and undrafted rookie. And yet he was on the bubble that first year, But there was I forget who the veteran guy is that they kept him over. But the thinking was that this guy can be a starter in this league, and he can be a starter pretty soon and that my dad already had Green Law and and Fred Warner. So I think what you saw on Sunday was he's now in his third year. He understands his role. He knows that defense and so I think because of him, there's no reason to push it with Greenlaw. Greenland has the groin. So I think there because of because of the guys they have there and Demetrius plan against thousands is a pretty good player as well. Good special teams guy and learning more and more how to play. Uh, linebacker in the NFL after being a safety in college, So I think because of that, um out here has a chance to be this week and every down linebacker right now he's playing that Sam position. Which in today's NFL means you're on the field about a third of the time because when they go with the Nickelback Key. Juan Williams comes in and I'll share it goes out, so I would think that if it's close, and if there's they feel that there's a risk of Greenlaw aggravating that injury and having it become worse..

"In. The news is not good. Jason Bright was expected. They have confirmed the torn knee cartilage for Raheem Mostert, which will put them on the shelf, The report says. Eight weeks what are your thoughts there? Well, it's not a ligament. It's a cartilage, but that's uh you know, that's what we figured It would be weeks, but I was hoping you'd be weeks and not months and This is one where it's both. I mean, we're talking two months. So you know Jeff Wilson Jr the meniscus injury that he has is going to be Out for several weeks. But you are going to get him back at some point. So right away, Trey sermon. He's going to be up on game day. You're going to take three running backs into a game, so It's going to be three young guys. Sermon Mitchell and John Michael Hasty. The Wayne Goldman was a calculated risk. And, uh, you know, he's a veteran guy. If he's on the roster week one you got to pay them, so they let him go figure and he could bounce back and get on the practice squad, But the Atlanta Falcons jumped all over him. So, um You've got to look at it all the available running backs as far as, uh, you know, practice squad because you're not going to be able to To get anybody. I mean, you could make a trade to get somebody, Uh, Baltimore just went through all these different injuries. Uh, so they know they've signed quite a few, including the train, Latavius Murray, you know they have activated Levian Bell. Um, So those were a couple of streets, guys that are available. Uh, I mean, there are a couple of names out there that are big time players and you are looking at I would think of veteran player because you're so young. So, you know, do you want to get in the child girly business? Adrian Peterson. Is out there as well. Gurley would clearly fit the scheme here. Uh, he's you know, He was the best player in pro football when the Rams ran their way to the Super Bowl. Just a few years ago, the signature play in pro football was the outside zone left Todd Gurley. Behind Whitworth and Saffold and Sullivan and that offensive line. Then he wasn't as strong. I thought he played better last year. I think it's a financial Component there. Um, and they just did rework Jimmy awards contracts, so they have a little bit of money. Uh, but, you know, these guys are not going to come in, uh, wouldn't think for the veteran minimum, you know, maybe all day, Adrian. But he's a different kind of back, but he's a great jump cutter. Who would work here? I mean, it's up to Bobby Turner. But I think you probably have to go out and get a veteran guy. I mean, the very least you gotta sign a couple of guys, maybe to the practice squad. To have some buffer because backs get hurt. You may lose bags. Um, and right away. I think for this game and particular, you know Philadelphia, you'd go into the game sermon would be up with Mitchell and hasty because they know your system. And then you got the ready, listed running back and Adam Peters is working the phones right now, and there are other names. Probably. We're not thinking of you could sign somebody off of practice squad. Right away. I have to go through all the teams in their practice squad, but as far as veteran guys if you wanted to Because they both do know the scheme and can run the outside zone and up gaps. Game and inside zone as well would be two of the most accomplished players that have ever played Todd Gurley and Adrian Peterson. That'll be up to Bobby Turner and whether or not they fit in the running back room. Yeah, I think it's tough with running backs is once they hit their expiration date, and I know that people are you know, I haven't even looked at the text line, but I know people going to say Frank Gorman. He's 38 years old. And you know it. It just It happens very fast. Just off the top of my head because they're so young in the in the in the running back room, I think maybe they bring in a vet just Just in case because I like hasty, you know, like Mitchell and sermons got to get a little bit better. He's gonna hit the whole faster like we've been talking about, but that's a really, really young running back room, and Joe Staley joined us a bit earlier and was saying the transition that part that's tough to the NFL is. You've got to try to To attach yourself to a mentor. So who in the running back room and I dont Bobby Turner's a great coach, but who in that running back room can be a mentor? Is there somebody out there that Kyle has a connection to or the organization does. He knows the system can pick it up? And maybe that player is not going to play a ton. That's where the veteran practice squad thing comes in. But I think that they need to go with the veteran route just to get somebody in that room. That's been there done that so they can talk to these young guys because that's three really young backs that you're now relying on They just need a body. They need a body, so they're going to sign someone's going to get signed right away to the practice squad. There's no doubt you may you may sign too. But you need a body..

"Game that you called to expertly with the kids play and all that. That was just a great win in New Orleans. That's the last time he threw for 300, Elijah Mitchell. 104 yards. Debo Samuel, nine for 1. 89 is the first time in a while that they've had 33 New York passed 100 Yard receive 100 Yard Russia. Those are all the good things There are 41 17. So you see it feel good. But then the end it ends up 41 33 in the big story, obviously Jason Verrett and what we're going to do at the corner position long term, because if you looked or watched yesterday, Matthew Stafford is great Kyler Murray at Tennessee was great. And Russell Wilson at Indianapolis is great. You're gonna play great quarterbacks in the division. Oh, by the way, week three, probably a fist off Aaron Rodgers, who wasn't good yesterday. In fact, his worst professional game they got beat 38 3 by the scenes. We get more into the NFL, but a lot of quarterbacks coming and they got to get that figured out. We will talk about it in about nine minutes. With Dante Wittner, who was great on TV. As was Joe. I actually went back and watched those guys to check it out. So Dante in about 10 minutes on all of it, and the Joe show later, so we got them both. So we're very well covered. We gotta get to kill spokes on the air as well. And Laura. But Elijah Mitchell, Um we didn't see him much in the preseason. He had the abductor. Injury did not play into the last preseason game against the Raiders, and there he is on kickoff coverage immediately making a tackle, and he did not play on coverage and, uh in college, Louisiana Lafayette Ah, he was going to be the number one kickoff returner. And that all changed when Raheem carried the ball twice and he goes out. So I'm sure a lot of people are wondering about Trey Sermon versus Elijah Mitchell. We could feel that coming Once Mitchell got healthy and clearly the week of practice leading up to the lion game, and even before that, Trey sermon. The one thing that's good about him is he runs kind of like a veteran. He's a patient runner kind of Levian bell like, But lady in Bell is Levian Bell, and he's not leaving on bell anymore. We'll see in the night against the Raiders. Playing for Baltimore, but he's lost his juice, but If you want to play for Bobby Turner, uh, being patient is not the way to go. You've got to hit that It's one cut and it's downhill and you go and Trey sermon is got to figure out how to run this system. Now he ran a lot of it. At Ohio State. He ran at Oklahoma who did and eventually But he's got to hit it harder the way Elijah Mitchell hits it, and he just hits it and he's got great speed. Rain of 433. And you can see the speed when he got into the second level. But then the power £200 and you know, he was played bigger and college, he was up to 2 15 and his prayer. Initial of 40 times. Not great, so he tapered down. Uh, he ran about four or five and now at 200 to 433. But the ability to run through a tackle at the second level, so this is big time. Elijah Mitchell. Uh, what he did right away is not, you know, overall, took over 104 yards as a rookie round six draft pick in your first game. Wow. Who is this guy see the next coming of Terrell Davis. I don't know about that. But let let let's just see where it all goes. And then the big thing will be today, John. When Kyle meets the media and Dr McAdams, they do an MRI on Rahim's knee and see exactly what Is going on with that knee, how long he's going to be out. J. Michael Hasty is a good back. You lost Wayne Goldman. That's one of the things we talked about was which one of these bags could you cut and bring back? I thought you could cut calm and then bring him back. But Atlanta jumped all over him, so he is no longer available. If you get bad news on Mostert, and I think you have to brace for he's going to be out a period of time. Hopefully, it's not extended time. But you know what's the likelihood will be able to play in Philadelphia on Sunday would trace sermon then be up for the game? More than likely would you have to bring somebody else in it? Uh, Jeff Wilson Jr is still weeks away from being able to come back. But that was a hell of a performance yesterday from Elijah Mitchell.
