"Comedy shows years ago. They had black shows with black comedies. But they were they would always or trays. Twelve people with no education cleaning white people's houses and stuff like that married with children's co-creator. Michael gene is black. Man who had written on some of those shows like good times. he was also a producer on the jeffersons. He and co-creator ron levitt called married with children. The anti cosby's the show ran for eleven seasons on box. Seagal says five years into that success the actors renegotiated their contracts but she always knew her pay wasn't on par with her co star. At o'neill i can tell you that. I played I played a lot of people's lives and a lot of people's Mothers and a lot of people's You know the second to a very strong man done that. A lot and I'm going to say the men always make more money. They always have. And the you know. In what i do kind of starts you started a certain number and then it kind of goes You know you get more money but you never get what they're getting so And the way that i've ever asked for more money as to have really great representatives that just tell me to hang tough and forget unmarried children when we were all trying to get more money in this is in the day. I guess i can talk about this idea when you you know you you tell the network or the studio that you were sick that you couldn't come to work as you couldn't show up and really what you're doing is is is trying to get what you were worse and you know the things that i would hear the like. We're going to write her out or we're gonna you know there's gonna be a new wise for he's gonna get divorced or you know all this stuff and you just have to hold your ground you just have to. I mean i can remember literally having to stay home and having to get in my car with my husband at the time and hide my face so that nobody could see. I've left the house. Because i told my work. You know and this was like paparazzi time and all that so there were those conversations. But i've always had really good representation. That has backed me up on that and been probably stronger than knee in terms of no you. You deserve to get this. It was early on in the show when you your pregnancy was written into the show and you had a stillborn daughter after you were seven months pregnant then it sounds like you had to go back to the show i if you could kind of take us through what it was like to have to go through personal trauma and have it be so intertwined with your creative and professional life and you know how involved you were in writing the new arc for the character and what that process was like was a pretty dark period there Yeah we're they decided to write the pregnancy in. That was very exciting. That was great and then The outcome of it was horrible and they decided to deal with it as a dream sequence like they like there was a dream pregnancy. I mean it was this. It was actually. I'm thinking about it now. It was clever. I think at the time. But it was no less heartbreaking. It was weird and and then You know. I had my other. Might i have three children. I had two of them while. I was on the show the rest of the time and at that point they were. We were all so freaked out because You know stillbirth is something that They call it an act of god at of sixty percent of still born children. There's no medical reason and my ruby. I called her. ruby Was that there was no medical reason. And so which is a very difficult thing to wrap your brain around. Because i as you know i felt like i did. I did something wrong and you know the big lesson i learned is that no i didn't and but we were all very Scared after that. 'cause then i took took me another year to get pregnant. I didn't even wanna try. I was so freaked out so then my other to the show was equally as freaked out. And so i got pregnant than they'd send me home and i do all my step on the phone i think with sour. They sent me home at five months of pregnancy. And i just laid around the house and still got paid which was awesome which was great and then with jackson also. I think they kind of sent me home. And i did some because with ruby i. I worked to the entire time until there was a problem and so nobody newest that had contributed. That was a weird that was a horrible time and it was horrible to be in the press with it. It was horrible to have it so public. It was just you know it's kind of a mixed blessing and the curse of being successful. Is that you know. Sometimes people know too much and this decade of success ago had playing peg bundy. It had its professional drawbacks too. She says she developed a lot of bad habits as an actor. That were difficult to shake later on. I sucked i was terrible and so i never went to acting school really. I just didn't. I just learned on the job so i've worked with coach ever since i still work with a coach and because i wanna be i wanna learn more i just wanna be i wanna learn more and so with every role that offered or give you know anything that comes my way. There's now i feel like i know. How do the work of an actor which is a real craft. I really wanted to be a dramatic actor. Nobody would taken seriously. I had been you know peg bundy this bigger than life tariff so many years it took a minute it took me. I didn't really have a plant will ensure i told my manager my agent. I'm sure this is what i wanna do next. But i don't think any of it worked out. I think that then what happens. Is you know you do some jobs. You don't really want to do. But their jobs and you need a job. So i would do that and then i think my biggest bowl was. I didn't wanna keep doing comedy. I wanted to also broaden my own creatives space. So i remember when i did I got a on lost on that. Tv show and i had to audition at two or three times. They had to seem navy for. They would believe it that i can come in and do a dramatic arc.

"These both these some cannonfodder as what you're saying that the result the cannon fodder is what what you have a few problems one of them is that some of the justice feel i feel like any human rights group would have a lot of issues with what went on during he's episodes by right well with some of a problem one of the like real inherent having the international team is that they they had a bunch of people who english was either nonexistent or they're playing it up to be nonexistent or or it's worth subpar and also like if if we're trying to have these like rapidfire relationships it's not real like if i'm a guy in the house and i have a choice between know women i relatively equally like and one is from los angeles in one lives in helsinki finland like it you know there's a practical per you know like if we're actually trying to like make some couples out of this it's not realistic that i'm going to start dating someone who lives in a like an eleven airplane right exactly yeah there is definitely are definitely stacked with who has cast from arm a us and just kind of who we are shown get air as well with certain of the international contestants i know hayley you and i we talked about some of the people who are cast um from the us seasons were a little surprise about such as on michael gene and cheney who i think gotten not even a sound bite on episode 1 so that they did throw in a few uh american cannon fodder contestants as wildest i think for the first episode i'm looking at him jamie and i like it says rachel season in i cannot place him whatsoever his faces just late nothing to me i think he was a night one casualty so i don't know yeah yeah i i truly am i look in a mike auto now like michael i remember her because he was desert oases on eight yen who's armed bathroom here eichel's too old by note was too old for this and like he's the only person there was not good looking.

"And so the results played out the way they were well we've had some ownership meetings going on in dallas the last couple of days and you could imagine this was a topic that came up and gave roger goodell a chance to speak glowingly about his relationship with jerry jones my relationship he rejoined he's been great i we we don't always agree and i'm not a paid to agree and he's now pay degree to his me i think that's again with the strength of our leakers and so as a league we're stronger when thirty two teams are together we have our differences but we work together to try to solve those differences and address them in a way that we think is going to be responsible i think we've done it first and last michael gene yeah that's all a fancy way as saying yeah we realized that was ugly navy do the same thing we're doing and try and put that behind us for now because i'm gonna be here for a wild cash in these checks get used to it and that's fine and at the interesting portion of this has beaten for me is always been what happens now because jerry jones tried and failed to unseat roger goodell he tried and failed to some extent now we understand the structure of roger goodell 's contract almost eighty five percent made up of escalators and bonuses that will kick in based off of what roger goodell was able to accomplish as the commissioner the nfl going forward and so some of that may have been deemed successful four jerry jones but now it's trying to figure out okay how do we effect is going forward because the one thing that's going to keep popping up in is as an issue is the amount of power roger goodell has that was something with jerry jones called into question and in light of what's happened recently as far as player punishment whether goes back to what happened zeke you'll elliot whether goes back to player discipline issues that we've seen pop up in recent weeks with what's gone on with rob drunk housekey with some of the headshot that we've seen in the nfl what just happened in the seattle jet.

"We are going to have off in different directions for awhile you because if i was the whole to get another fight against going to take some time and a uh big win you also i kinda figure we're heading in a different direction and you'll system by ended it was all every conversation i had with my management with michael gene were was how do we find a way to do this again and end up bomb cook was like i think the john old stories a bit over said but we can be creative if that's what you really want so i guadeloupe outta we get it done and that's all we thought about in terms of the fight aspects of it but to hear something like this something again that's not really has nothing to do with me is good said it's very frustrating and my my whole issue is just i don't understand all in these situations you could be you can put your so in no is he's in trouble then i mean i gotta be honest with you you know i think he's gonna turn trouble now uh based on based on uh this things come comeback positive at all uh uh they and again i've been in this program for a long time it a lot of times uh it's you take a pistol a company split between two cubs you know that's what your bsample is not like came from two different uh sure sample right it's one it's one one time to use the bathroom a spirited split into two cups uh so to think that half would be messed up in the other half is it is very very rare uh in in the times of you saw that there has been some bsample that have come back different but that's whenever they've been store for a really long time sometimes uh uh uh sometimes with epo in a hormone because we produce a natural in our body so sometimes that may happen but uh for a steroid especially fourth an answer especially if it is what they're saying that it was going to be very difficult for this thing to.
