He's an author speaker una coach of just finish reading his fascinating book which is called waking up for transformation in the michael talks about his very unusual childhood so stilted all compensation by asking him about that so good morning michael. Thank you much feel time. This morning i've just finished show book which was a real page. Turner and i wanted to feud stole the national by setting the scene. Just talk to us about your your child because it was extremely unusual. Thank you for the question. i. I'd like to start by saying thank you very much for having me on and talking with me today a little. While after i was born my mother came in contact with a high mind. Controlled group Today i choose to call it a cult known as jehovah's witnesses you may be familiar with them and they hit all eight of the criteria of what cult belief systems are and so that was an unusual experience as we grew up but then on the other side of that my father who was not a witness or not jove's witnesses at the time i was criminal criminal so we saw really to a very far ends of the spectrum with my father living a criminal life and then my mother who was a ultra religious to the point of mind control and so it's hard to choose in that environment in which direction to go. You know what what is your path. What is the Also on top of that you don't get a lot of choice. When you're living in a mind controlling environment or a mind controlled group there's a lot of brainwashing that goes on our so those things i think made it unusual. I had three older brothers all of which were in the same situation as i was dealing dealing with on the one hand Our moms religion and on the other hand are fathers criminal lifestyle. He was kind of a dichotomy though. My father was a talk about this in the book because on the on one side of it we would hear stories about him from his associates of how violent the know the kind of life he was living. We didn't hear stories from him. He kept that away from her home but would hear very violent stories about you know someone that owed him money and so the things he did to them her several people that had been shot by him things like that and then on the other side when he was home and when he was with us he was one of the most loving kind men that i'd never known or anyone had would be around so it was a real dichotomy of who. Who was this person. And then as i grew up that was a struggle. Who do you choose as your hero. Is the person you've heard about the out in after he died We heard an awfully lot more about some of the things. He did I think there were about fifteen banks. He had robbed a twenty or thirty drugstores things like that so that was his life for many years. He was eventually when i was eight years old. He was shot in in armed robbery in the head did live through that and then he went to prison after he recuperated from that in the hospital..

"I don't see there was a cutoff period where I didn't I stopped downloading new APPS. Staff. I. Didn't do snapchat and anything that came after. To talk for a little bit only I was very I was like I hate this I don't like new things, but that was like, Oh, no adults do that. They're like we won't do new things I'm like I don't want to be that settling into that. So I started watching Tiktok with the pandemic when that happened 'cause I was like I got extra time now and actually. Thought, it was funny I kind of got the joke of it like what people do on it it's not like vine. It's like there's this just inside jokes basically inside trends and it it's kind of fun but it's Banned I think. But yeah, Ooh, got to sell. Late The next one? The next one? Yeah. There I am not against any of those things. That's just it became real hard to like manage all those. Yes. I just started like instagram ing like. Regularly You know where like I'm using the stories? Yeah. I could barely. Yeah. Go. Away. After twenty four hours, it goes reels reels. Now that's the new TIKTOK for instagram. Yes. Ain't. There, there was a lot and So yeah, there's there's a lot of things we can do now to kind of express whatever it is when you started instagram though 'cause I mean when I first got on, it was like two thousand eleven and there weren't that many people on like that I, knew actually mine was private at first because I didn't know it was going to be a social media APP I thought it was just a thing with friends but you were you post a lot of artsy stuff on there. It was just a Web website. Yeah. It's an old school a url. What's The www one? and. They they were like, Dude, you guys you gotta come up with this. APP soon, because like this other side instagram is like they're kind of doing what you're doing and they're not big yet, they will be and then they just kind of dropped the ball. Followers had daily. got. Deleted, and then I was like, okay I'll go. So move over to insecurity. And Yeah. That and that and I did just post like. Kind of fun little. Yeah. vignettes in at that was the thing is. At the. Like. Tight. Yeah it was fun. It was fun to like sit there and go through the photos that you took all day and then like spend thirty minutes on one photo and tweaking and yeah. When used to do the collages because that was back then to true I remember making a conscious decision and thinking should I keep the original for photos or shy keep us one photo and save the memory because my phone doesn't have a lot of space and I'm like you know what fuck I'm saving the originals because I'm probably going to regret not saving those but I never looked back on the there but it's so funny lead any of my my rose like. Need the memories I need to hold onto them I. Don't know why I always think I'm going to sit through them when I'm an old lady and then. We don't have physical photo albums city so it does make sense. But. He is a gimnastic on. INSTAGRAM. Yes. Some like. Like chubby little kid had. Really had. And I was like, can I get this handle and he was like, no I'll sell it to you. and. He lives for just a Chubby cheek like twelve year old. Yeah. Lefty Bucks I would've I would've never paid last I was originally at not Nikki on instagram and totally sketch.
