"Sheridan, Michael Calhoun. This show covers it all we're going to go from cool to fire in this show. I like I like how you did that joke. We're gonna talk about cool fires solutions technology company. A software company that stealing in this. Artificial intelligence kind of world that we're entering into just raised a big amount of money to further their expansion plans. And so the CEO's going to stop by to explain how they're helping everybody from the military to enterprise rent a car streamline and make their operations more efficient and more responsive to you know, this is the probably the second or third week in a row where we've had people in entrepreneurs. And in the Saint Louis region are talking about the entrepreneurs in the Saint Louis region who are raising outside capital raising investment dollars to further their their operation. And this one's unique. You'll hear why and it's a it's a it's a route that Saint Louis companies are increasingly look to looking to. So we'll get the scoop on cool fire solutions, and then we'll head out to the air. Reports so to speak and find out about a big expansion that's planned for terminal to which a few years ago a decade or two ago was the small terminal the quaint terminal the big roaring TWA's and T one of the main terminal at the time and at the time it was the east terminal with upstart Southwest Airlines. Boy, how things have changed southwest just dominates that terminal. Now, they have a lounge out there they're expanding and they're adding and they keep expanding down into former TWA in the old concourse d they're labeled e now, but those are old gates that are being resurrected by south west. And you might wonder why are we talking about airport remodeling and expansion with we think about what really drives the economy and a lot of these especially fly over our fly to country as as it's been referred to you now Denver has spent billions on airport infrastructure to make sure that it's easy to get in and out of the city. So that business can get done. And so this expansion over at the airport is very relevant. And we'll find out why south west because they're paying for a lot of this. Most of this upgrade and renovation. So we'll find out why they're so interested in Saint Louis, and if this is really a long term commitment that we can be happy about with south west. And then we're going to stay on the global theme and talk about global hack. Yeah. We're gonna spend quite a bit of time in our and our final discussion with Matt Manetti, the executive director of global hack learning a little bit more about what it means to be a civic hacker. You know, you're not doing using your powers for evil, but you're using them for good, and what they're trying to do to tackle really assimilating and helping immigrants in on immigrants and foreign born people get connected in the Saint Louis region. This is the seventh global hack, I almost can't believe it it's gone by so fast, and they've.

You just have to hop on the elevator and hit floor one thousand thousand. Maybe it depends on how big the floors are. We'll have to find out. That's conversation is coming up. But right now we're talking about Rex sports leagues. And that guy that guy. Let's go to Danny on line one. You're on the voice of Saint Louis. What's your story? Danny. Oh, I tell you what. So so I'm a forty two year old guy that still plays baseball in a local rec league. And and the reason I play is to help me convince myself that I'm not as old fat in out of shape as I am. And and some of these other guys that play they really take it to another level last season. And my first at bat, I got a double off a guy and drove in a run and my second and bad guy purposely drilled me seventy five mile an hour pitch in my left knee. Okay. So I am not kidding. And so I went down when you're Molina met carpenter when they get hit. It looks awesome right there. Tough. It looks cool. First base. I had to go to the doctor. It hurts so bad. I. You know? And and and when I'm laying I'm sitting on the ground, and I look at the guy and he scowled at me. And I swear he said I have to protect my team. Well, I have to protect my job. I what what what is wrong with you. I mean, yeah, I had to actually go to the doctor my niece hold up so bad that that. And so that is like rec league, that's the worst. He should he should go back to his mom's basement. And where he does with his life is what he should be doing to protect his team. He must be getting paid a lot more than all the other wreck. Does he think he's Bob Gibson my so there was a bench clearing brawl? Maybe I don't know. Let's go to Cathy you play women's basketball. What's your story? Yeah. So it's kind of I've also had the softball story. I'll tell you the basketball when I. Used to play women's basketball in a leaked down in northern Arkansas. I'm from Saint Louis, but I was down there for fourteen years. There was something to do. Right. In the evenings. And we'd have our little league play. And some of these girls, I played a basketball and competitively when I was growing up, and I was, you know, back then that was quite a few years ago, even but there were people that had played in college and the women they when the rats would turn their back. They'd be pushing you out of the way, and of course, and cheap shots, and I found myself just doing the same thing because otherwise you're going to get beat up. So you didn't you joined if you couldn't beat the bad guy? You got to join join them. That's right, and yeah. And it was like it was it kind of reminded me when I used to play in high school because at some of the schools that got pretty rough and the rest couldn't keep up with the the foul. So you just said you can't beat them. Join them what about softball. What's the story from there? Yeah. It made me think here in Danny my before my call my daughter didn't play competitive softball, but she did play some, and she's pretty good athlete and not too many years ago. She was on a thoat team. And when I watch I was concerned for because sometimes they would drill the ball when they were throwing it, and she'd be on for space or whatever. And I do think they just lose tide of what age they are. And that it's supposed to be for fun. And all that good stuff. There was times. I wondered I think he's been her boyfriend at the time just is our told us that. Well, let me call. She doesn't date him anymore. It says is that he was so competitive at one time he was had having some kind of medical procedure done. He didn't wanna miss a softball game. So he brought his IT. See? But I thought okay, I think you've lost perspective. Here was a beer league was a standing at second with the red solo Cup in one hand, and the Ivy and the other Bud Light in the Ivy baby. It was just alcohol. That's what they were talking about. He actually didn't drink that much. So anyway, yeah, you just kinda crazy. People get something comes over you. If you have that competitive street because I also coached girls basketball for a number of years, and I have kinda remind myself that this is just kids playing a basketball game. What do you recommend to the kids? Do you say, hey, just close your eyes and take a deep breath or what's the best technique? If if you're like, oh my God. I'm that guy in this game. How do I calm down? What's your advice? Well, I think you have to recognize it in yourself. And I think sometimes you recognize that it now there are people. Maybe if you're at a game, and you just have to. It's kind of like, you know, alcoholics you, don't realize you don't have a problem. They're not gonna fix it. But anyway, I didn't know over the top or you know, any kids. I do remember though. And it's kind of on topic. I guess there was a soccer game. My daughter played a lot of competitive soccer. And we were at it was like traveling teams and all that. And it wasn't one of our games. But there was a little girl that had a haircut, but she was a really cute little girl. But I guess you could see that. She might look like a boy and one of the parents challenged that it was a boy playing on a girls team and made the raft. Coal the cards there ID cards, and it was a little girl. And I just thought I mean, everybody was just aside themselves with that was going on. And he was wrong. This this parent or coach that challenged it. And the next day. He brought the little girl some flowers, but I thought I don't know if you can fix that. That's tough to backpedal on that one. Yeah. And she made a bunch of really good point, especially bringing up the co Ed challenges. And I mean, it gets serious it yourself. I've played in a hockey game before where it's a, you know, a lot of hockey games are are co Ed or even like broomball broom ball's a big sport and the ice rinks in the summer and a girl played broomball and she scored and another guy didn't like the fact that a girl scored any slasher across the hand broke her hand. Yes. That guy better not have played again in a coed broomball league. It's ridiculous. That is ridiculous and also teammates who've had to go to court to testify against somebody because they considered it assault with a weapon a hockey stick the dark underside of intramural sports. Here league sports. Well, it's two twenty eight. If you want to get in on the conversation anything we're talking about here, Michael.
