"Wake Up, wake up A. Wake Up, wake up A. I, said what wake up. You're listening to mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele Bennett. Is the season finale of mouthpiece a pretty sad. But at least today we're gonNA. Get an opportunity to go back and look at some of. The best quotes from. The best minds in some of the best people were really caring and thought very deeply about the questions rescue, and how they affected us in how to change our mindset also challenge. Some of our home is is during the season. We had a great year of just Heaven Open Dialogue about things that are really vulnerable and I think pretty good, and you know what also doing this podcast experience because of everything that has been happening this year I. Think has been really interesting. The conversation changed from. You know week to week because what something's? We thought we were GonNA talk about her. Going to. It had to completely change, and I think that was also a big learning curve that we had to do our own to adjust and. Really navigate through all these different things going on this year. I know because everything was so personally and needed like such like nurturing for people to you know some people can't understand certain things and being able to break it down to them in a way, too so compassionate, and I thought that was pretty important, too. Because this year was a crazy year, there was in one fucking person in the world. Who could say this wasn't a fucking crazy year December. Thirty first like yeah, twenty twenty great.

"Wake Up. WAKE UP A. Wake Up, wake up A. I. Say what Got Wake Up. You're listening to two mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele Bennett. It's been four months since we have heard of first case. Of Kobe, and sense of pandemic has spread, and we've been on lockdown in our homes, and our cities in our communities away from our family and friends, and now we're four months out as July. And now we're contemplating and thinking about what has changed in our society culturally and also. What hasn't you know what? Those, for like there, such a disconnect between reality and fantasy and I think like people feel like conspiracy is like all these things going on. I want so you don't know what is the virus real, or is it fake and all you know you see people dying you like viruses real, but then you see other people who aren't wearing masks, because they think is not real, so it's like it's a hard thing, and I think that's the thing that we're not really paying attention to American. Is How much empathy we have to have for other fellow human beings by wearing a mash, and doing all the proper things that you see in other countries and I think in America I'm not sure everybody takes a series of some of these other countries where you know I think in the beginning I even was. Not taking it ask your sale more like oh stay healthy. Wash your hands and have a positive spirit, but now after four months I'm like no, like you really have to go out of your way to take proper measurements of how you're interacting with people what you're doing, but but going out of your way where you're seeing someone walking towards you now you're like dodging person like you're really doing stuff that you normally wouldn't do every day, and then you're also still stocking up on food and stocking up. Up on your toilet trees in the beginning I was like a half enough for what you need, but because it's so unknown, the panic on everyone I think is still existing the s so crazy because like. If you rewind in October if somebody sneezed, you say, bless you if they coffee like, are you okay, but now it's like one of those things motherfucker cough or sneeze you looking for the tape and be like we need to put this. In segregation by herself. He is sick or she's sick. It's so crazy because you don't owe, AM I. Not affected so I just feel like in America. We we open up things like it's hard for this country to a capitalist society not to be open. You know what I'm saying, so it's like they're weighing humanity versus the capitalistic, Mesa. De! Cities, in the states are opening knowing that there's an opportunity and more chances of people actually in the virus, but the greed and a need to have these material things need to be I. The need to have those is actually feel like sitting us backwards as American society, as American culture, and you add in the riots, you add in protests you add it enjoys floyd. You have a cocktail. There's ready just to explode because there's so many different variations of people's paying happen once and I think the government. needs to do a better job of controlling are not since of controlling, but really giving people to true on his narrative is like. If we don't have that shoot, narrative, people don't trust, and unfortunately we dylan what the president five that people just don't trust. They don't trust them, so people aren't really like leaving. What's happening or some people are just like this disconnect between the powers-that-be in the governing body actual people that the government actually governs. Yeah, let's say one thing out of these four months that I've really noticed. That is really different amongst everyone at. Within Within governments within city states, countries is value I. Feel like that word value you know. Everybody has their own term on how they value something and like how you value your food. How do you value each other? You know humans your family. Had you value your government, you know. How do you value your mayors? Different things because of all of these bumps in our rose as we go through these four months I feel like the word value keeps coming up and everyone has their own definition and terminology on what how do you value something? How do we value this life like that? Unfortunately, it even has come to that. You know where people are like. Oh, it'll be have that separation. Than how do we value each other and help? That's different. Different how treating each other? How people are you know? Bullying and people are targeting people that had it you know, and then it goes into race people bullying people who are from China in the beginning this year and I think that we keep putting our own value on people on things on issues, and that is if keeping separated also L. knows lucky animalistic the way that we're like how people react in these times a survival. People go into this mode. I must survive in their survival is more important than the next person I think there's a bit of selfishness. I think we live. We breathe a culture of selfishness when we look at the amount of things that are happening around us. We look at Instagram facebook twitter, all these different types of platforms as we build up these identities for ourselves to. Be disconnected from society and have our opinions, but no onto. Ours is the most important, and it doesn't matter what other people think. I think in this situation. We're suffering from now because we're suffering from this idea that I just WanNa. Live my life Yolo Yolo. So, it's like when you think about that. It's like that's a terrible mindset to have when you think about the older generation of people who have lived a whole life, but for some reason we want to be in the pool. We want to be in the club. We want to be in everything that doesn't really matter when it comes to the idea of being into life and I think when we look at our society now. We just suffering from so many. Heart shirts because of those ideologies and is hard for us to move four when we think about the future of America because there's such a broken down connection between the haves, and the have not in this world, but that does take it back into what you said. Survival mode because you think.

"WAKE UP WAKE UP A. Wake Up, wake up A. I said what gut wake up. You're listening to mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele Bennett. Today. We have Francis mirrow. She's to owner and designer reef design and I actually love her stuff. I came across her stuff. Architecture digest DSP love Architectural Digest. Digest magazine quite often. But The colors were used it in the way that she was able to bring pattern to life. And two houses I had never seen before, and and now we're able to get her on the phone today. The extra about her design patterns how she got into design. WHAT MAKES UP DESIGN? And how do people in these times these trying times? Everything? That's happened to be able to. Find a way to redesign L. House in fall in love with interior design I have to you know talk about Youtube because. When Michael showed me your instagram and I was looking at the work, and the first thing like you said was a color is it wasn't just your normal primary? It was off shades. It was so much distinctiveness, but something different something unique, and also your prince see I have to highlight. Use them more because they hold on. You didn't say and all the proceeds I love the prince They're just fun and something different. I think so much in it within. It was so different and Michael knows I love offset colors. And it all drew into me and I was like Oh. Yes, yes, yes, we need to work with their so yeah. I had to put my two cents in there to to highlight you. All thank you I, mean we for us? We just want to work with people that are interested and willing to take risks I think people are so used to seeing one thing, and it's kind of scary. As it and You know what will other people saying. Someone recently that maybe one of the positive offshoots of everyone being at home is that people will just decorate their houses for themselves. Since they're not having anybody, come over anyway, and then they won't be afraid and they'll just like. Do the crazy stuff they love which would be great, I think 'cause everyone doesn't like the same thing so like why do so many houses look the same? Do you think that people are forced to. Do you think because it is to grab a because. How Trendy Culture is now? People are forced to be trendy like that, or is it even in their own mind, or is it like exception like people were playing is the criteria for design and.

"Up Wake Up A. Wake Up, wake up A. I say wake up. Wake Up. You're listening to mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele Bennett. Thanks for tuning into mouthy. This episode, really first airing on June eighteenth the day before June eighteenth, which apparently the NFL now wants to make a company holiday. for all listeners who don't know about. June T. It's the day that the slaves in Texas found out. That they were free, which is really called? Freedom Day, which is really kind of a folk. The holiday I mean to find out that you've been getting extra labor in now. You free and now you have a day. Just nineteen is a powerful day because people were free out from a group of Texas in pillow of Group at Texas. June nineteenth, there's always been crazy holiday. People love having barbecues and. I guess the NFL is having actually making it a holiday I don't know feel like they're a little bit too late. Almost for is like. Why now is June eighteenth? Important to know. That is the question. I think anything is kind of looked. At that now is now. Everyone wants to step up companies. WanNa step up people WANNA, step up, even with already with in leadership roles or not, but they wanna read or write everything. They're doing to this movement, but the question is is. Is it real or are they just doing to show face? And then on our end? Who are already going that path is do we believe them or You know I'm looking with a bad heart. I'll take an NFL also. Highlight Kwanza though she started having caused a district gone June team caused. It would be nice to have I was gonNA say there's a few things that people could start implementing especially to us. History which is interesting is that you think about all the holidays that we have in the US because? I have family everywhere right in when we visit them every talked to them in. They highlight our holidays. They know of so much of our history, but then I think about us being in the US celebrating things they kind of not. I think we don't celebrate them in the way that they should be celebrated. Like Christmas we all kind of go love Christmas because we get presents and it brings family together just like they give him, but I think because June eighteenth is like a almost like A. Holiday for those people of color who experienced something and other people don't highlight it so I guess, it is a great step for them to start to highlight. The injustice or the history of another culture with. American societies on little small silos I think. This is a great opportunity to highlight it. I think it should be should be is probably say what is the intent behind it is it intend to bring awareness of the historical context of African Americans in the United States and what they went through especially June tnt when everybody else was a message painted, and they still had to continue working. Or is it just to you know to say? Hey, we're doing is just show people that we care I. Mean I. Don't know I guess they're kind of tied in a my friend. We were talking yesterday when we were like. We're took them anger and sadness, and we were saying and how anger is, sadness is connected and I guess if the anger about was was happy. I guess highlighting can bring a little bit. Awareness increased empathy for the people who experienced it I. Think both of them are still pain. Yesterday's the pain. Thank you sad and angry. When someone's crying, it's like don't cry. Mad Calm down. But you do think about that all how I'm thinking right now. He's like pain. Pain connects sadness and anger in a hurts in. That's why it's so deep. Especially depending on what it is for that person, it can run so deep, so it's not something that you can calm down or that you can stop crying and I think that's the way we realized. America does momentum realizing with the NFL, and I think all these companies are starting to try to come around is that there's a lot of anger, but this connected the sadness and trauma of people's passed in in America and I think people have the these companies. Try hard to find a way. To really move, the needle would move the needle in progression, and I think those or slow baby, not even baby steps. They might be Feta steps. Foot not even fully formed yet I'll know the steps. They were real steps yet. But I think there's there's moments where we have to have were were highlight in this particular issue? I guess it shows support for the people who experienced and I think this this is step. You know, but so so is it. Do you take it in? Go Orgy, you say, hold on, wait no! The way you're doing this is not author should be very properly. Historians coming into these places in informed NFO. Because to just the have the holiday to just highlight the holiday with no information, no historical connection to it I think it's just a avoid a holiday at that point is about making the connection, so people can have an understanding of what other people experienced. Because you think about holidays, we think about Christmas. We get together depending on what faith you have your Christmas different from someone else's like in our family I think that might be for both of us, you know we bring in the Christian part of it and we talk about that.

"Wake up wake up a wake up. WAKE UP A. I say wake up. Wake up! You're listening. To mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele Penny. Finding. What is authentic like that word authentic? It's like. I think kind of disappeared. You know sure sure for a long time now and if you really think about it like what does that word mean, and what does it mean to you as a person and things that you're trying to do in life for yourself for your family for your loved ones I think like re grounding yourself and filling out what is authentic within your being within your work. You know whatever your work is if it's a creative work if it's. Your Job Your career, your passionately, what is authentic to you would just interested, though because people don't know, this is hard to be authentic when you have other people the pin and it's kind of weird, because like I'm like a AFLAC. We're at the stage and life is like if we for like something we don't want to do. We can't go like it's okay to have that power, but sometime I feel like is individuals. We don't want to tell people know and Dan we ended up doing something that does really validate who we truly are like. We really are mentoring and candidates like we were reading the Bible today. It was saying. You talking about like being a stranger right as seeking asking for help and I think a lot of us are looking in the mirror, and we see in a stranger, but we really don't know how to ask for help like we forgot will be like we forgot who we what we do, the music and it's like. I don't know it's just a weird combination when I look in around the world, and I'm Kinda just seeing the reflection like of seeing like. On a couple of weeks ago when we were talking about the value of the NFL like you know, it's like it's just one of those things where you just kind of like looking just like what is the true value of the fan? Experience was really the true value. Like at what point do you do something so much that you become it right right? You become the character that you started to that you in the road that you are in like. Have the character and if you are. GonNa, you're feeling. The pressures of those expectations you know and I feel like when you're starting to feel pressures of expectations. You have to really go back again and figure out who's expectations are those because sometimes you are assuming it's you know someone else's, but really it's your own that you're putting on yourself and those are not achievable. You're not going to reach those because they're made up. Making empty fake expectations that nobody ever was really wanting out of you and so now to go back and really feel like what is it that I want for myself before taking someone else's perceptions on such a profound statement that came from my wife. Yard at first. Mouthpiece, but yeah, it is, it is super is tough. Oh, because what really is who? We are acts, everybody's question. Who are you really? What do you really like? What is your true hobbies? What are the things that you really WanNa do in life like you know what actually makes me think about it, because I know a lot of times for me, personally I'm like you know we have so many thoughts and. And influences in our head from different sources. I think that it is important to talk it out with someone to people, because then those ideas just kind of float around in your head, this kind of stagnant instill and have anything to come out from. It's like it doesn't. It doesn't change right like it might read something. I don't to you about it. My thought in my head could just stay the same, but if If I. Talk With You then we'll think about it I'm like Oh you know what that's a different perspective? That's a different idea about it I, think like sometimes you know coming back to your own being is to journal because we have so many conversations with other people, we have ideas and things that we see through the news social media. TV, movies music. You know sometimes. It's like going back to the beginning and. And being in your own thought, but writing down and just kind of journaling your thoughts on daily just to kind of have that conversation with yourself, not making you sound like a crazy person, but just kind of like sometimes you don't need all the outside when you're trying to get creative zone, you really just yourself in sometimes we want those outsources for people to be like. Hey, like we need inspiration we need. and. It's like you really don't. People are inspired by themselves anymore more basic. You can be inspired. Of course you walk outside Your House. beautiful grassy area. Mike inspired from the clouds like icy that, but sometimes it's like also try interest being in your own self and drilling those thoughts in daily things that you're thinking randomly in kind of go back until like your own brain and know that you are, you can be your own inspiration that can be your on wanted to come out with your new creative. You know whatever that is through your work through your passion so true. I accomplished a lot. People all my listeners in Asia. Accomplish a lot, but there's only one thing that I truly enjoy. Accomplish me, Pele put the bike rack back at a car and put the bikes on there. Correctly. We have been bikes on. We've been tying them wrong and we did it. We also expire, but it was like those simple things amount of even though I did like so many different things at the moment time the bike. Bike around and getting the thing on their also inspire so i. do think you can get inspired by yourself and I think Philly's definitely write about US getting not own prison right because we formed his prison of ourselves in his prison, the being that we used to be imprisoned right now and everything on a shell of us is not really. It's a really big facade and. And I think we have to unshackle ourselves. Unleash our beings on these are chew cells unleash what we truly a passionate about, and not try to be into the group when it was cool to be an outlier again really have your own true free thoughts and free spirited. It's like the people who say are really want to be that way are being ostracised and it's like if. If you, don't follow line with the way that things are supposed to be of your NFL player. You take a neo you do this and people were like Oh my God. You not do what you're supposed to do. If you're doing more than what you're doing more than people like all, you're doing too much. It's like there's no Bisbee you could be you. Be You be.

Sex Talk we my mom like having sex talk with your parents is always hard but they have a podcast and they talk about it quite open our podcast sex with my mom. It's still extremely awkward. Even five years after doing this I was wondering that I had told Michael Up. Because we've been together so long. Both of us know each other's parents really well and I said Hey who. What would be more awkward? You're me talking to our moms about sex and definitely was both of ours would be awkward but then it kind of makes me think that I'm like way. We were really young when we had our first child also and so now I'm like Damn we should've been having a sex talk when we're that young teenagers so we like miss that part and I mean it i. It was like tough to talk. We thought this podcast would just be fun to do because the or stories kind of like my mom was dating. She wrote this book called the cougars guide to get your ass out there and then I started using that my stand up comedy and so eventually I was like we should just collaborate since we're both using the same material. We usually ask our guests. Have they ever walked an apparent having sex or vice versa? Of course how I never have nine nine kids either seven of us and I've never walked here. Maybe she don't remember it. Would trauma are built up these sick? And maybe the wall of her catching her parents was built up brain. She did something else I can't live. That's one fear I have. Now is the curls walking in on us. We have three girls so I feel like I'd be mortified if they ever walked in on us. I.
Federal judge rules New York must hold June primary canceled over coronavirus risks
"Race Andrew Yang strikes again well there's an old timey name you haven't heard the inter Yang yeah no Yang is a disruptive force in the Democratic Party at least this week he is because remember New York state and its board of elections had canceled their democratic primary for June twenty third and said not we're not gonna have it anymore we've got Joe Biden don't worry about it and for the health and safety of our people are not gonna have this and that was widely seen as something of a coup attempt because Bernie Sanders made it really clear when he quote endorsed Joe Biden but he still wants his own voters to vote for him even though he's out of the race another reason for that is because he wants to crude delegate delegate strength by the time he shows up at the convention whatever form that takes but the democratic convention if he's gotten a lot of delegates behind him he can use that to advance the more socialist elements of the democratic platform that he's interested in seeing and then that's why Bernie was doing that so in New York it was believed that this was an effort to basically say never out we're not going to participate in this game we're just gonna try to get as many delegates as we can over to Joe Biden and Bernie you can go home but what ended up happening yesterday thank Dan thanks Dan regarding a lawsuit he filed he's a federal judge ruled that New York must go forward with its presidential primary the judge U. S. district judge Anil Lisa Torah's of Manhattan made the ruling yesterday evening that they will hold the primary in June and that tore as ruled in favor of Yang and the lawsuit as it was filed by young's office and the young lawyers said this quote this unprecedented and unwarranted move infringes the rights of plaintiffs and all New York state Democratic Party voters of which are estimated to be more than six million as it is fundamentally denies them the right to choose our next candidate for the office of president of the United States the court agreeing there and saying that this that the removing that Alexion merry was unconstitutional interesting that inter Yang we get involved in this the old Yang gang has not broken up they got the gang back together looks like that's right interesting I guess he's a he's a Bernie bro now I guess he's making it known that he is part of the resistance within the Democratic Party with this little move either that or he just likes getting votes you know he's like he still has his name on the ballot again alongside a bunch of other people you realize this you about this June twenty third ballot will include Yang Sanders Warren and Michael Bennett Amy Klobuchar Tulsi Gabbard Michael Bloomberg digest of all Patrick Tom's tire all their names are gonna show up on that ballot in New York in June and that every I released a statement yesterday said quote I'm glad that a federal judge agreed that depriving millions of new Yorkers of the right to vote was wrong I hope the New York board of elections takes from this ruling a new found appreciation of their role in safeguarding our

"Wake up. Wake up a wake up. Wake up a I said what wake up you're listening to mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele Bennett. Today he loosened into mouthpiece in your humble abode or wherever you at stop toning into net flicks tune into some real shit and s mouthpiece. And today we're GONNA talk about a world without sports to some people that's pretty normal but to us not that normal sports have been part of our lives for how long. I've known a long time a so so funny about that. The other day my cousins have been pitcher and he's a pitcher of me. I had a purpose. I was very stylish to this. Was like nineteen ninety. Five nineteen ninety-six ahead. The Purple Jumpsuit. On with I Jordan wins. Now I know the head onto has enjoyed ones on and It is on my shoes but I had to Jordan ones awe and open up the president and the basketball and it was a foot bottom realized that the football is in my hand that long. I might you know what I'm a shot. The Sheriff Pitcher when episode comes out of there because really the whole life world has been with the football hand longtime ago now. It's funny that you said that because Michael doesn't have a lot of fun as a child. Jesus Yeah so. I don't really know exactly to any incident. Xactly what they look like so for Michaelides reference to Blake our second house. But that photo was need to save you because you were held eating all really but yeah you didn't have a purple outfit. Articles like matching purple top on me with Actually Hugh you thank you for a while. But as you're saying that the football was a Mahan and didn't think about a world of sports like I never thought in American history in even in world wars every war all even in Vietnam still have fight and he still has sports going on nine eleven. They still had a football game. He still had all these sports basketball. And this is the only moment in time that I can remember that. Possibly a history A standstill the words literally at a standstill and sports would not be happening. And what does that look like for us? As Americans? They were US sports so much for. All kinds of every season knows support. Where this fall spring summer winter like we use those sports to use it as downtime and they might not be happy. And what is it? Like not only res- it's all over the world every country in dealing with the same thing of sports but then it's also like the student just high-school college you know just grade school. You know all the kids that are involved in their own athletic. It's like literally four Zero Year. And it's kind of like you feel sorry for people who were gonNA use sports for collegiate opportunities to get an education. You gotta think like that's not going to happen or so maybe somebody who's planning to play maybe an NFL. Luckily play collegiate season last year. So those guys are going to get opportunity be drafted but they're still might not be a season and basketball. I never thought that basketball within you know and but the NBA. I would've I think because the NBA players some of those NBA players got the disease. Dad was when if those players did not get those diseases. I think that the seasons would have kept going on but soon as they possibly. Those guys got it kind of changed everything. I remember that happened. We saw it on something. They like. They're just not gonNA have any fans that you know but then we were watching TV and we saw the red. Yes they're wrestler's wrestling and there was nobody you know wrestling is like it's tons of people it's noise and yourself those you can see the fans redefines so for me. That was such a strange eerie almost to see a bunch of people on days no audio and then when you watch wrestling with no fans coverages look dumb. He like what I've been watching this. This is terrible and I think of every sport that happens to every people are just going to be like. I'll be watching basketball. It's not as fun if there's not a crowd there's not as much enthusiasm is looks boring like even the people doing the wrestling look like they didn't want to be there. Bassey take the back to advance into people. How like your energy? Is You get so much energy from the fans from people from people supporting you so watching the people who are wrestling. It was almost like I had to give it up to them. They did a good job. They were warming to me as if they were people there. But that was the theory part Zone Miss. Imagining if other sports when you don't have those people like for you ask professional How important or did you not realize that the imports and I'll think you don't think maybe we didn't realize the importance of fans because I think a lot of times when you just don't have the fantasy kind of like practice. People don't take it to the next level but those fans the ability for people to see you that gives people more energy and a lot of times. People feed off the home crowd. I think if you look at Kansas City chiefs Seattle seahawks are teams. Great crowds in the New Orleans. Saints people feed off that the Lakers people think about the celtics they took about paying for the Yankees Stadium in an environment provides a whole `nother level of competitiveness. And I think without that I don't know people are going to be able to generate that type of enthusiasm for two hours is looking at doing things. It almost feels like. It doesn't even matter and I think when you're watching the wrestling you kinda see that is like well. These guys freshwater's men between other MS LEG. Flipping them up into his face into his crouch and then he falls between a man's leg and he just got been watching this at also at all. No we don't do not like wrestling. There was there was a whole `nother level but I think what the fans you kind of look at. Stowe for really what it is. I think what fans and people are watching football and people watching practice. People actually might see how violent sports are are unnecessary. They really are when you start thinking about baseball players. Get in five hundred million dollar contracts and really if you really watch it. Nobody really wants to hit this dance. But we CAN'T HAVE THE JERSEY SELF-CARE THE TV. We can't have this in the players. Contracts are going to reduce tremendously. I think like if we're looking at a sized it also shows you how sports is used as entertainment. It really is entertainment. So it's kind of light makes you think about your view on it like washing people you know have. He's making skill worries at the actual active side of it. Where he's looking to the job. It's like what is sports. I notice interesting until it professionals. That is because it's interesting too because you see a lot of artists on instagram and twitter and all the different forms of a medium. They're able to have these concerts online. And it'll need much. They could just have a couple of friends. That have a live deejay producer battle but in sports. I don't think they can do that. Oh they possible for them to be by themselves and have a high production where people wanNA watch something of value because sports. This doesn't happen. I mean you can't do that because of the social distancing so you can be by someone but if you're a basketball player and you WANNA show us your you know having both. I mean technically you can do that in posted born. It's not like when they're doing a concert. They like nearly put into some work on me. They're competing against themselves Easter music. Just maybe if somebody is China play sports On your social than they played some like good music. It'll help enhance it. Also WanNa know if somebody can find the numbers in tweet us. What is really sports piece of Pie? To the American economy. What is that really look like for cities because a lot of cities depend on these games if you think about fans money being spent all small businesses that are dependent on. Nfl depending on basketball baseball like sports plays a significant part of a lot of cities economies a lot of cities. Like nobody would go to fucking Green Bay. Just keep your room. Nobody wants to go to fucking Green Bay. Wisconsin like his Co. is cheesy. There's no good food. There's no good hotels the places terrible right but with the packers people drive always Chicago Minnesota to go watch the Green Bay packers that city out. That team is just another small town city in America and without those organizations have those teams auto cities having those organizations is just not going to be the same if you look at Super Bowl like billions of dollars are generated by the Super Bowl from TV revenue from just TV in general and it also from people being in the city. Now you're right. I think there are so many different events that happened within sport superbowl probable all different things. But maybe also gives time to like okay. How can we still thri without having these event because then you think about in your city you only have so much so many people in the city? But when you have these viz more people show what more people come. More people are traveling to DC airlines the hotels peck. The restaurants pay it turns sports Always pure entertainment in a now. It's also pure business. You're sitting comey booster to have those people come into those teams and think about and there's been so many rumors about what teams are going to do like there's rumors that the NFL is going to by going to move to the Bahamas and use hotels in the Bahamas exclusive. News or courses exclusive DJ. Kelly we the best warrior sourcing a real reporter journalist doesn't give up his sources always protect the sources. There's saying that they might buy Go-to Bahamas and used the Bahamas as a place tech about is really a great idea. Honestly because if you go to the Bahamas the Bahamas has a lot of hotels able to create a bubble where everybody could be tested as. Just the teams. You don't really have to have the fans if you can find Bill Stadium Bill Bill Stadiums. He got put bill group TURF fields. Well the answer there. They're just not in person so now since everything's virtual they will be actual networks and I dunno apps ways of where they can stream this live you know gain but people are still tuning in so. I'm sure if we're looking at it a difference on Thursday do streaming. Those numbers are GonNa even obviously skyrocket. Don't like now you can catch any game at anytime you're and I think the NFL is probably going to re renegotiate the TV contract. That happens because at that point I mean because you take the Bahamas an might be a perfect place is a short distance from Elena's closed. It all off okay. So we're going to livestream ALR- games from our own hours like they're not gonNA participate. Anybody they might do to. You never know they might end up. Doing it. Might be a great idea for them to because if you look this thing about the bombers there's enough hotels were the city is it's a lot of the city. Nassau is a tourism city so they have a bunch of accommodations for each organization every team cow thrown hotel. Everything have their own who can help another economy so it just it just always crazy. That's the level that they willing to do. Their level of them is willing to spend a couple hundred million dollars to change a whole country's economy to bring import people to do all types of things just to get season going Sports took America is probably is not real affleck. America's are going to push their level an envelope because people use as a form entertainment that also use sports as a reference to the history of the things they love people are entrenched into their city's teams. People have been Chicago bears fans forever if you watch the Michael Jordan documentary and you see like the Michael Jordan came and change. That city is a lot of people who are entrenched in their cities teams and they will go on the ledge to be and watch those games..

"Wake up wake up a wake up. Wake up a a said. Wake up wake up. You're listening to mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele. Benny could the other night. I was talking about. How in relationships couples get mad at each other for the simplest things. How do you stay in a relationship? Where big things matters? Small things matter to but we're so hard on each other about the smallest things. Let's just say one of my friends told me? His wife told him that she's not going to have sex with him anymore because or she doesn't want to have sex with him because sometimes she falls too close and he takes to close out and she leaves him in the four. And that's the reason why I don't WanNa fuck you and I was thinking like Damn Best. Kinda harsh to be in a relationship with each other in some of the simplest things that we take so serious are really serious. Are they really worth our anger? Really worth our attention. There's a really mess up our relationship ardy worth it. I think it depends on the person because like you just said if something is small you know to the woman and the husband's thinking that it's not a big deal or something big to the woman in the Hudson thinking it's a big deal. He has to like almost come down a notch and be like. Oh this actually is a big deal in her mind. So how do you come to that over that issue? But the thing is that how she's GONNA use sex. Sex is something that I feel like. A woman should not use as a weapon. Like women are using that as a weapon. They use the net as a bargaining chip in relationship. If you don't do this you're not getting no ask if you're not doing this. You're not getting no head and that's a lot for men to have to deal with. Of course someone district die lies. I'm living in Russia if a woman is using her vagina as a bargaining chip. That's unfair for the husband because dude because of one man can go so much longer. Sex are now. Let's stop there right there. You just said it yourself. You just had a woman can go without sex longer than a man that she'll be fine. Is that true? I don't know if there's true but it's it's not well. She's doing a great job. But that's why because a man expresses himself sexually differently from a woman so I see why a woman could use that as a weapon which I don't agree as right or actually maybe wrong depending on the situation but.

"Like instrument new on it now but I just I was wondering since says we're getting ready for twenty twenty four can be been Obata. I'll be in front and you could be second So that that that would make vice president view second so you still get a good job but are you on the shortlist for any vice presidency of being involved in that way or manner. You don't WanNa tell actually don't tell us. Actually I don't want you to give me Michael Doesn't want to lose you right now but if you decided right now who would be somebody that you could get behind our would you do you see yourself being a shortlist for that or would you do it. I don't see myself being on a shortlist. First of all presumptious. Amita think that anybody would want me to be on the ticket with them. I don't know that that would be the case but I I I don't know if you saw this but I We were talking about. You mentioned the the young woman. The girl in Idaho with the air. Fifteen strapped her back Gone before the city council the State Legislature There was a picture of these armed masked white men with weapons of war marching up the steps of the state capital in Kentucky and tweeted that picture out and the the the words that company were wake the fuck up America like look what is happening right now like this is going down in America as we speak. I WANNA feel free to say. Wake the fuck up America when it needs to be said if I if I were drawn to album do what you do with that company in DC doing do that where rap every type of music music needs that right now. There's so much love. Is Music like there's so many live music. And and the way to have music shaping our kids in the weather until no young girls address. What are they telling our young men to do things like that? Positively tiffany of honesty that needs to be back in the music. So I say you drop the label. Gang gets you a couple of rappers ditching studio come out to Hawaii record. Get Your Faith Pele and ask you if I know. You're you've got a million things on your plate but if you could help manage my career the albums that we've got to produce the the BNB ticket that we gotta get ready for and twenty four. No I like you. I hope in in some way I WANNA be able to speak my mind. And and Feel free to do that without worrying about you can. Do I upset the party? Do I upset the president at the top of the ticket? Do I I I just think this is a moment that cries out for truth and honesty in in the most raw in real terms that we can possibly express them in and again. I think that is why I was drawn to your book. And why my son? Who's thirteen years old? I wondered if you want to read a book titled Things That Make White People uncomfortable. And he's a big big sports fan and it's his entire life and I said hey ulysses you know this Guy Michael Bennett. Yeah of course Michael Bennett. Well he wrote this book. I just finished it. You may or may not like it. elite by your your your bed and if you pick it up. Great if not. That's okay too. You know. Two days later he'd finished the book was really into it and and I think you know. Even though he's thirteen years old he also craves discount of truth in an understanding of where we are right now too much has been to safe and to Saccharin and two produced and we haven't gotten at the tough truths underlying some of the problems that we have in America and until we do. We're GONNA keep repeating the same mistakes and we're going to continue to have people like Donald Trump In this country making life even that much harder for for so many millions of our fellow Americans. So yeah this is the time to be honest. And that's what I WANNA do but I want to ask in go back and talk about your wife. Don't WanNa say shot to amy. Because she sounds like an amazing person. She's you'll be on track number three. You're putting your truth out there and being publican how your family also has to engage in that you know what is the role that she plays in your life and your family. And how does she mean to? I wish I wish she could be here and An answer that question too in terms of what she does. So she's very involved in education in El Paso in our in our school systems trying to improve the teachers and the pipeline of teachers coming in working with public schools outside funders and organizations who want to make sure that every kid in El Paso has a great shot at a world class education and so on top of everything that she does for our family very committed in her career to improving the quality of public education. And I'm super proud of what she does there in the community. At home she is. She is part of every decision. I make in my life. I just I don't do it in less Amy Good with it or Very often the idea might originate with amy for example when we were first thinking about running for Senate and we had this conversation about you know. How do we talk about trump with our kids? This was back in two thousand sixteen two thousand seventeen. And how do we explain all this stuff to them? And then amy ask the even better question she said well. How are we going to explain ourselves if we fail to meet this challenge and so she really was the one who helped make the decision to run for Senate? She knew that this was something that we could do. Where we might have something offer in and it might very well Make a difference and then also is very often the backbone or the spine of the operation. I'll be tempted to take the easy way out of an issue or not. Take a position on something. She'll she'll call bullshit on that she'll say hey hold on a second You've got to be honest about this stuff and look. I know it's not going to be easy. I know you're GONNA take a lot of gruff for For saying this but but tell people how you really feel about this even if it's if it's not popular her integrity her ethics. Her moral compass is is second to none and I always want to be a better person because of her you know I always want to be worthy of her love and the fact that she chose me and that we get to do this to go. I want her to be proud of me. And I'm super super proud of of her. She means the world to me. I mean I think that's really cool. Though because a lot of times people don't really highlight they wives like that and we'd like to highlight both sides. Both sides of the highlight my wife for her to highlight me. And I just so much positivity to bring something to make to make sure it sounds so beautiful McNary something this commitment but the same time. There's honesty and there's some growth is is you need the support says yeah we call it crap paddlers so. I looked at the loaded. Assembly are not that not that Microwave Pasha real real. Should we cook and Gumbo and you got third row. So it is nice The wife like that manages and it gives your kids away to look at how they treat spouses like you are being the example of that and I think you should put in a hallmark card. That was that was beautiful man like out. We got actually GONNA cut that part out because the rest of the people. I don't know if I can live up to that. So you said the standards right man how you should love you a woman and how you go about your family and I think for me. I know you very well. I heard what you did but when I watched a documentary and at the end and how you embrace your kids I knew I was like. That's a man who loves his family when he came home. Any filter emotions of his family with his family was going through. It wasn't like you were being selfish so I just want to thank you for coming out to the thank. You are really am honored that you all asked me I've loved learning about both of you. Both through the book and the PODCASTS. And how you all make your marriage work and how you make decisions together And how you are you. Keep your family together and stuff's not easy but it's important and it's really good when it works out. Our everybody listened to this. Go vote twenty twenty four BB Benny Battle. Yeah as a matter. Who's I mean I'm not into the? Who's who second aching type thing..

"I gotTa Tell You I still am inspired by Colin Kaepernick by you by Lebron James by by others who have worked really hard to attain a position and status and are seen by by millions by hundreds of millions all over the world and who are willing in some way to compromise that earn position or or to put it on the line in order to stand up for something that they really believe in. That's important not just to them and not just the people who look like them and have had experiences like they've had but are important to all of us in this country and and I really feel that there's nothing more American than doing that than than than willing to put your your career and your status in your position on the line for something that you believe in and there are so many ways to serve. There's so many ways to sacrifice and I'm grateful for all of them. The men and women in uniform right now and I read from Your Book that Your Dad served in the Navy so you come from a family of those who serve The the people who are willing to stand up in their day to day lives and stand up against things that they know might cost them position or status or in some cases their lives or at a minimum their freedom. When someone's willing to do that I can you to call that out and make sure that you give credit where credit is due. It's the only way that I think. This country becomes a better one and has any hope of realizing its potential and its promise that you know as we said in the Declaration of independence we are all created equal. We've never realized that We never truly acted that way in this country. But I'd like to think we've never really given up on trying to achieve that and and the leaders may come in. The halls of Congress may come in military uniform Maybe wearing a football jersey or may be out on the court. They may just be leaders in day to day life in their community. But that's what it's GonNa take to make America better so no. I was very happy to say that on the campaign trail. Although I got to tell you that there were folks on my campaign who are who are asking me. What in the hell are you doing answering that question that way like we? We don't need that fight right now. We're trying to beat Ted Cruz in Texas. Become the first Democrat to win a Senate race since nineteen eighty eight. And you'll need to be taken on controversial positions. I think the the truth is it's actually not that controversial. It's just do. It's an honest thing and it needs to be said. But that's what makes you great. I think there's a lack of what people are calling honesty days. It seems more like a lie in any time you try to show the truth to try to build people up. It's like when a hate starts to come because it's like everybody is so silent defining with somebody speaks. They're super shocked. That somebody would really bring attention to something like that. But as a as a as I said as a black man as an American Human being like I I was like. Oh Yeah. That's the Guy Accuracy am. I think that's why everybody was so drawn to you in democratic grace or just everything grownup Texas. I think that's why we're both from Texas so that also addressed. We spent an and you'll appreciate this. We spent a lot of time in Bryan Texas in college station. Texas and at am not a place where I thought I'd be welcomed a Democrat and a very progressive Democrat at that talking about some of these issues including a criminal justice system. That disproportionately is Seeing black men and women round men and women behind bars for crimes or infractions committed by all people of all races or a healthcare system. That is the least insured in the country and is at the heart of maternal mortality crisis. That is two to three times as deadly for women of color. I wanted to say that because it's true and I wanted to say it everywhere I went and Texas in all two hundred and fifty four counties but to be honest with you when I went to college station Bryan Texas Raynham. I thought this is not going to be Received very well but I was surprised it was And I think in in in all these places in Texas that Democrats have written off or taken for granted or thinker to read or rural or too conservative. I think if you're willing to speak the truth if you're willing to call things out for for what they are and then willing to offer a solution for how we make things better. You might be surprised at the way that people respond to that and And and that's what I found in some of these places in in Texas including When I talked about Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players taking a knee We don't have to be limited by what we think is popular or possible. According to the conventional wisdom we speak our mind. We speak the truth and I really do think that good things will follow so we have to of course dive into the Democratic candidates that are still in the twenty twenty presidential race. Will you enter this? Do you have a favorite? I'm really interested in seeing how these Democratic candidates respond to the issues that are really important to us in Texas. And how they're going to help these down ballot candidates we have a racist gerrymandering in place that has drawn. African American and Latinos out of congressional districts solely based on their race and ethnicity to diminish the likelihood that they ever vote or participate in civic life that with voter. Id Laws With other suppressive tactics have been Alarmingly effective if we get a democratic majority. We start drawing people in and start making progress on things that are important to us like health care and gun violence and criminal justice and immigration so Bernie Sanders was just here in El Paso actually was really grateful that he came to El Paso. We are an afterthought if we're ever thought of at all in this far west Texas County. That is a Mexican American majority community one that saw the mass violence against Mexican Americans in US history. Twenty two killed by a white nationalist racist in August. Armed with an AK forty seven a weapon of war that has no business being in our lives and our streets or our communities. A guy who was not only fueled by hatred but in some ways was directed by president trump who's talked about Mexicans and Mexican immigrants as invaders as subhuman laughs when people talk about shooting them to to stop them. The fact that Bernie Sanders came to El Paso Texas meant meant a lot to me and others in this community. The fact frankly that that Michael Bloomberg came to El Paso Texas mental. I don't want to see if the other candidates are are going to come here and speak to us and you know Michael you talk a lot about this about going to where people are being open to new experiences and the experiences that may not be your own on what those candidates to come here and do this El Paso so I'm very interested of course and and will support the hell out of whoever the nominee is But I really WanNa see what they WANNA do for us here in Texas and I'm hoping in the remaining days we get to see that may and you talk about the gun violence and I just saw somebody. Idaho went to State House in. His granddaughter brought a loaded weapon into there. And I'm just like is a far cry between the right to bear arms and actually safety of our citizens like you said like. There's shouldn't be war. Weapons in our classrooms are kids are having to learn about this gun violence. They feel so unsafe to think that we grew up. Feeling safe like so. I'm glad that you have the courage to bring those issues But how do you convince somebody? Who's a gun as part of their life and and now they're being told that for the be taken away but in a sense you try to get them understand but it's not really about the gun is really about the safety of our citizens. I think you just said it. I'm sorry I shouldn't bail Michael Bennett. Twenty twenty four. Let's do it. I'm in I'm in no. You're absolutely right. That was a chilling photo to see an eleven year old girl with a weapon of war strapped to her back brought in by her father. Grandfather in front of the legislators who will make a decision on this issue to to say that that weapon is not intimidating would be ally and when you see it. Play out across this country in the State House in Kentucky guys in combat camouflage with body armor face masks so that you cannot see their identities wherein AK47's Ar fifteen th these are weapons designed exclusively for the purpose of killing. People are not meant for hunting not meant for self defense. They're supposed to kill as many people as effectively as efficiently as possible on a battlefield to bring that into a State House and try to intimidate lawmakers. Same thing happened in in Virginia to State House there in a red from your book. What it meant to you to see the Charlottesville white nationalist riot those marchers saying Jews. You will not replace Shouting racial epithets and the president saying that there were very fine people on both sides to see in that same state masked gunmen all of them. Almost white men try to intimidate lawmakers that is terrorism by another name. You do not have to kill somebody with that gun to try to terrify them into taking action based on your political beliefs and when you match that with terror that was expressed in murder like in El Paso where a guy came to to kill Mexicans as he said afterwards to police Then you understand what we're up against what I say to that. Lifelong gun owner. You know and and I know from reading your biography. You were raised to hunt into fishing to shoot and a farm. You understand what life is like in a rural community. What I say to you is I don't want to take hunting rifle and WanNa take your your handgun Our Little WanNa take any of your weapons but I do think that an ar fifteen AK47 which is designed for for war. Which can be used to terrify? Terrorize and intimidate. That has no place in civil society or in our in our communities in a country that loses more than one hundred human beings a day more than we see almost any other country on the face of the planet disproportionately Black Latino Men and women boys and girls disproportionate in Texas women who are not protected against domestic abusers. You've got to agree even if you're a gun owner even if you're a republican even if you don't like me even if you hate my guts than what we're doing right now is is not working and you have kids..

"Times. We do stuff and we'd never really reach back to try to find a sourcing movie to came out in the seventies. That was called superfly in the. I remember that when I'm older cousins. Took me to that movie in. That movie. Touched me in a way that I never been touched before. You know back then. We didn't have many Michael Bennett's in the NFL and We didn't have Lebron James and basketball so you know most of our heroes came from black export movies and superfly was one of those movies that touched me in a way that I don't think I'd ever been touch before in what identified as a given a priest who was a star. His power was cocaine in that descent. Inside of me you know about fourteen years old when I first saw a movie in The First Time Aerosol cane run nineteen and I never forgot that is you know made his endeavour markup on me that Still This Day has an impact on my life. You sort of have an impact on your life when you first toast. I break or whatever versus what winning break from and who. We was broke man. We couldn't buy gas was like fifty nine a gallon. That's legitimate question. That's a question people want to know because it's like people who people watch TV and they watched movies the first CDC scarface. They see them. Start off with a tons amount of drugs and he started off with this powerful click. They don't see like the other parts of.
"michael bennett" Discussed on Mouthpeace with Michael Bennett & Pele Bennett
"Wake up wake up. Wake up wake up. I said wake up. Wake Up. You're listening to mouthpiece Michael Bennett and Pele. This week. We have against recross not the regression. I listen to recross. His one of my favorite artists remember when Blake. I heard Rick Ross. That's not my daughter. Blake she hurt regressing. She was a baby her historic Now she would be she would be sleeping and we put Rick Ross has beat when his beats come on this she would wake up. Do a dance and we cut it off and come back to sleep. Talk about drugs and we'll talk about guesses but come. Drugs is a very interesting because some things that are illegal drugs is something finally goal. How could you really determine what drugs are good for you address bad for you because some people think bike marijuana like the russified in Bleed? I like marijuana's gateway to everything is up. People smoke marijuana. Get Away but this people are addicted to things that are served over the counter. You know I think it's kind of confusing. It gets more difficult when you talk about using drugs as you're saying like with Rastafarian like a way of living or someone user does religion you know way of life. I think that does make it difficult to separate on how it should be used why it should be used and that's the hardest part because you know you gotta like somebody like Rick Ross. Who gets prosecuted for his role in the drug business and his role in supplying people with a narcotic that they shouldn't have that is deemed irresponsible and deemed to ruin family favorites but from the pharmaceutical companies who supply people. Were drugs every single day? You go to you. All these different places people get all types of drugs and people just get addicted to. I feel that there should be some kind of fairness in the prosecution of the because some medicine is used for healing actual medicinal purposes or homeopathic ways of healing. But I do think once it starts to have that trigger. You know you feeling the need the one then it does change it or domestic kind of gives me though 'cause you are drug dealers who supply drugs and they do things right but then there's companies who have a drug that can potentially help somebody dealing with something and they hold back because they want to create a bigger supply and demand. I guess if you look I thought you were just about to say is that they both can cause addiction on both addiction. We know like it's just a different type of dealer but you don't have to say I'm like okay. Like pharmaceutical companies like they should be held accountable for not giving people narcotics that they need for health reasons. Like like how like somebody this like selling drugs and be persecuted for doing something illegally has not deemed illegal. When there's a company WHO's a pharmaceutical company is? Somebody needs a drug too for the for to stay alive but they can't get it because they ain't got no money. I was just like a dirty game. Jerry came because we don't set the system up that wait for us. It set up for us not by US so in order to get what we need. We have to go around those loops and you know all those different ups and downs of ways to get to the end but it's not set up for us. That's why it's so much more difficult. Affleck.

"Wake up wake up. Wake up wake up. I said what got wake up. You're listening to mouthpiece with Michael Bennett and Pele Bennett. In today's episode. We have a great interview with an important topic on activism in sports something that Michael Relates to we have Mr John Carlos. He's been a figure. Not only within the nineteen sixties as. He raised his fist at the Olympics. But he's very relevant today and things that are still going on in its two thousand twenty and is always been issued as draw a line between what is nationalism and what is it to be a Patriot in America. Is it that you stand up? Stafford right since the rules of society is or you sit down and still have the same belief. I think there's a lot of people in America who are still at odds about. What does this really mean? What does this statement mean and I think has had a lot of attacks on the culture and has a lot of controversy of into the Culture. News brought a lot of conversations. Are things been some good and bad from this thing right so I think that in the beginning when capitalism kneeling you decided to get involved also into a movement that it created a movement and I think sometimes it's hard because movements are lead by influence and sometimes now how we get information is not always correct or maybe the person that it's following this movement needs to do more homework not just join and follow because you feel like it's the right thing to do? It's like what is the work behind it so like for you because at that time you you know decided yourself to Neil. What is it that made you feel that you need to get involved in? What work behind it and homework. Did you do to make sure that that was the right decision off like that's a good question? You sound like a Goddamn over there asking that question but seriously I feel like I've always had a PhD in it because it's just been my experience in society as a black man like from the beginning of always had details of the father. The my dad always said.
The state of the Democratic primary race
"With the New Hampshire primary in the rear view mirror the democratic contest for the presidential nomination shifts west and south with Nevada being the next day to vote followed by South Carolina he can be the senior editor for politics and government Scot Shafer is here to talk about the state of the race and California is a role in it hi Scott Hey Nina so New Hampshire often clarifies the front runners but to what extent if that happened last night Bernie Sanders well it did clarify things but not as much as I would say is it does usually so yes Bernie Sanders people to judge clearly the top tier they're now essentially tied coming out of Iowa and New Hampshire in delegates it really put of course former vice president Joe Biden came in fifth he's really on the ropes and was with war and kind of a surprise her neighboring state she's from Massachusetts she came in fourth place behind Amy club which are so her campaign is a little bit on red alert I would save and it it definitely New Hampshire gave a new life to Amy club which are and we did see three candidates drop out and Yang senator Bennett for Michael Bennett from Colorado and of all Patrick the former governor of Massachusetts I'm not sure many people knew that they were even running but they are now out so in that sense it does narrow the field at the criticism of both Iowa and New Hampshire having so much influence in the races that they're overwhelmingly white the next few contests will be in more racially diverse state Scott so what does that mean for the various candidates well it means a lot I mean Bernie Sanders he is you know really the front runner right now he does quite well with Latinos he does reasonably well with African Americans but he's the only one in that top three from last night they can say that both booted judging Amy club which are of really really struggle to get any traction at all with African Americans and Latinos so now moving into these more diverse states they really got their work cut out for them Biden he's been really held up by African American voters but the question now is with you know two very weak for initiatives in the first two contests are they gonna stick with him or they gonna look at other candidates and if so you know who does that benefit Tom Stiers is kind of making a move in South Carolina he's been spending a lot of money there on the air waves and he's doing reasonably well with African Americans and then of course you've got waiting in the wings Mike Bloomberg who is also spending a lot of money not in the first four contests become super Tuesday he's gonna be a big player there as well well what do the results of New Hampshire and Iowa mean for the importance of California's March third primary well California has been like pining for relevance and I think finally this year we're going to have it I mean just to give you some context California has four hundred and ninety four delegates to up for grabs that is compared to New Hampshire which had twenty four to twenty times more delegates just here in California we're part of super Tuesday which includes states like Texas Virginia Colorado and Bernie Sanders is really well positioned here he's got a lot of union support he's got a great field operation he's got a lot of money but you also have Michael Bloomberg really poise for the first time on super Tuesday to make a splash he's spending tons of money on television he's got field offices and not just the usual places like Los Angeles and San Francisco but also stocked in Fresno riverside so he could be a factor as well you know California is now have fifteen million ballots that have been mailed out to them and the question is are they going to mail them in soon or are they going to kind of sit on them and wait and see who's left they don't wanna you know voters never want to vote for somebody who's dropped out of the race so you know they think California's really want to have their voice heard this time

Bernie Sanders wins New Hampshire as Buttigieg and Klobuchar gain momentum
"Name well after the New Hampshire primary results Paul and lease of more than one Democrat can claim momentum Bernie Sanders did come away with first place but he was followed closely plot by Pete Buttigieg age just about one percentage point to separate the two a surging Amy clover shark came in third place last night Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden were a distant fourth and fifth place respectively but they are vowing to press on with their campaigns and Yang ended his last night along with Michael Bennett and all Yang isn't endorsing anyone yet he says he is open being someone's running mate hi Laurie
Sanders wins New Hampshire but Biden drops in the polls
"Road to the White House Bernie Sanders one new Hampshire's primary Pete but a judge finished two points back any global shark trailed by six two more hopefuls bit the campaign trail dust I am not someone who wants to accept donations and support in a race that we will not win and so tonight I am announcing I am suspending my campaign for president Andrew Yang getting out of the democratic sweepstakes after a miserable performance in New Hampshire also exiting long shot candidate Michael Bennett the senator from Colorado I wish all those candidates welder going beyond New Hampshire I think it's fitting for us to in the campaign another poor showing for Joe Biden who moved on to South Carolina and a more diverse electorates part of his message was electability which I always thought was a flawed message anyway because if you're the most to like you could describe yourself is the most electable candidate and then you lose it basically completely burst that
Analysis Sanders gets narrow New Hampshire win
"The argument making over the court last year in an expanded base there are many more candidates running then we're in twenty fifteen the reality is that he has so far struggled to do that in terms of numbers so would you say that he might actually be people are judging Amy called chart for the winter is coming out of New Hampshire hoping that you can get the momentum from big surprise third place that nobody would have thought two weeks ago she had any job of doing that and that is certainly the way that you tried in the but what that ultimately come down to be on the vote count is too big momentum which all three of the top three finishers are up and down and delegate and it looks like it will be pretty much a time delegate Joe Biden's and he knew about this result in fifth place and went on to South Carolina to campaign is South Carolina Joe Biden's last stand we will be hoping that it is not but he has before that in about a car coming up on the twenty Caroline and it goes right into super Tuesday the Tuesday right afterwards on March third so that the very complicated and huge number of weeks for the right to Jenna dropped out Andrew Yang and Michael Bennett Yang was an attention getter I don't have to tell you what did he tell you personally about his role going forward does he look to be somebody running mate or does he look to be an advocate in some way eight out of the city of activating order Hanggang maybe running for president maybe even running for mayor of New York or serving in the administration of a Democrat who might win you want to be very active in the campaign he hopes to really be committed to meeting downtown but he is clearly aware of how much he is touched off and the support that he's generated out of the country and not want to see that and with the end since the Atlantic's Edward Isaac deal there who has a new interview right now with entry Yang who just dropped out of the democratic presidential race looking there were
Two presidential candidates bite the dust after New Hampshire primary
"ABC news projects Bernie Sanders wins new Hampshire's presidential primary with Pete but a judge of two percentage points behind in any clubs are trailing by six two more hopefuls bit the campaign trail dust I am not someone who wants to accept donations and support in a race that we will not win and so tonight I am announcing I am suspending my campaign for president Andrew Yang getting out also exiting long shot candidate Michael Bennett senator from Colorado another poor showing for Joe Biden has moved on to South Carolina you're morally your support your commitment to this party have been taken for granted I have not once in my career is taken for granted and I give you my word as a Biden I never ever ever will south Carolina's primary set for February twenty
Klobuchar, rising in New Hampshire polls, hopes for surprise ending
"Campaign twenty twenty the New Hampshire primary the primary results are still being tallied up up but but as as of of right right now now Bernie Bernie Sanders Sanders projected projected to to be be the the winner winner he's he's got got twenty twenty six six percent percent of of the the vote vote behind behind him him former former south south bend bend mayor mayor people people to to judge judge with with twenty twenty four four percent percent the big surprise tonight Amy Klobuchar the senator got close to twenty percent more than doubling her support verses Elizabeth Warren to more than double the votes when Joe Biden the former vice president left early for South Carolina he held the campaign event there tonight he says he's not going anywhere together we will insure in our time that we deliver the day when your race has no bearing on your health or your well your access to education we deliver that it's Pete booted judge talking about unity here's Joe Biden talking about staying in the race inane over man we're just who has for Elizabeth Warren as mentioned not a strong night for her but she is still trying to stay optimistic if we have the courage to fight hard we are going to win coming up next we have two nominating contest we have no data and South Carolina two debates to one before each one of those events so again Bernie Sanders the winner tonight in New Hampshire with twenty six percent followed by people to judge with twenty four out almost twenty four and a half and then Amy clover chart in that third spot we had two candidates drop out tonight Andrew gang and Michael Bennett Tulsi Gabbard addressed her supporters say she's not dropping out and devol Patrick according to CBS news expected to suspend his campaign tomorrow lot of moving parts will keep you updated throughout the night it's eleven forty eight A. Everything You Need To Know About The New Hampshire Primary
"Number so far fifty percent of the votes counted and the New Hampshire primary Bernie Sanders is leading with twenty seven percent of the vote the British Asian at twenty four Amy clovers shar at twenty Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden nine percent of peace and Chris pork is joining us he's a political science professor at Muhlenberg college and Chris joining us on the disc institute of Pittsburgh Newsline interesting number so far what do you make of them hi MD Robert screen great night for for folks that like elections New Hampshire primaries always at a must see and yeah you know we we have a repeat if you will of Ohio in terms of standard and better check at the top of the the the ticket you know Sanders with a few point lead but that might be expected given as it is proximity to New Hampshire is a Vermont senator I think the big surprise or maybe the big mover is insane people to our center for Minnesota at twenty percent you look you mentioned a little bit born in Joe Biden two high profile Democrats with the with their total combined not adding up to what she has at least in the in the early the results and that that's a big sign that that she might be emerging as as a player for that more moderate wing of the Democratic Party do you see you anyone besides the injury Yang stepping aside he suspended his campaign today do you see anybody else doing that as a result of these results well that's probably not a lot of folks are thinking about somebody else who is still in the race is Michael Bennett a senator from Colorado and he officially ended his campaign okay tonight you yeah I I think you're probably gonna have Warren and Biden hang around to Nevada and and South Carolina to see if after this is a little gap here between tonight in those those primaries and or the caucus in in the matter then with more diverse demographics bigger state population wise the probably rolled the dice there if they can if they can hang on to have enough resources to do so but that those are our most wins for for those two candidates or or must you know perform really really well if they're going to have to be able to continue their campaign because what happens is why are they so important it's all about momentum there's hardly any delegates at stake in Iowa New Hampshire delegates are are really irrelevant at this point it's all about momentum and and if you can get the money you can't hang in and out that of course is the one thing that Michael Bloomberg we haven't talked about doesn't really care about he doesn't need the momentum out of these races because we have the resources of its owner if you want to to play hard to tell C. Gabbard is still in this and for whatever reason the C. B. S. and a is interviewing I'm not quite sure why she has like forty seven hundred votes or whatever she's coming in it the Billy the polling is three percent of the possible votes with fifty percent reporting do you see her just riding this thing all the way to the end and figuring why not nothing much better to do with my time yeah I do I think she's she's someone that'll probably hang around she she tried to make a fairly substantial presence in New Hampshire and and campaign pretty hard up there but as you said that didn't realize of a big sure the votes and and she's kind of you know she's she's very interested I think and and just being in the continued discussion and in terms of her national profile if you like the spotlight I think she's more than happy to to hang around even if there is really no path forward while I think for folks like maybe Elizabeth Warren and Joe Biden if this becomes clear there is no path for they're gonna step aside there's no reason for them to continue speaking a path forward Joe Biden is hoping for a big showing in September what do you think Elizabeth Warren needs out of Nevada in order to justify continuing to move forward yeah they're gonna need you know yeah I talked to a top two finish and have have or at least if it if it's really competitive now that they're close to where were the front runners are to say that you've exceeded expectations and you're back in the game you can change the narrative Robert if you if you do have one of those nights right say here Biden has a big big night in and there at the end or sad girl and all of a sudden you're in get to steal from Bill Clinton near the comeback kid even though there's no definitely not kids at their age but but they can they can claim that mantle and so but it's hard to hard to generate momentum it's hard to generate and especially if you don't have really strong on the ground presents a that's one thing Joe Biden's problems right from the start he doesn't have yes name recognition yeah some like ability among Democrats but it doesn't necessarily have a lot of resources form on the ground presence and that might be is on doing even in a place like South Carolina where I think he he feels that he can be competitive and dizzy need to win big in South Carolina if he just eats at a victory is that a virtual loss for him you know I is it guaranteed expectation game in okay I think if you want in South Carolina he would he would certainly be happy with that if it's by one one point can he so he could say look I've re establish myself I want to speak with a large African American presence that's gonna be important on super Tuesday and a lot of southern states and he'd be back in the game if you will with any type of a win but the pressure certainly on vice president he he needs something significant positively that happen or all the winds gonna be sucked out of a salesman and TV made my step aside early in this race so oftentimes debates don't really register with people yet so it's hard to find real clear winners and losers like to debate from last Friday but it sure seems as though in the call bush are came out is the huge Victor from that debate at least when you look at the post debate bounce that she's received yeah I have to agree with that and in on both those points yeah debates usually don't have an enormous affect their viewership not not gigantic in the usually the other bounces are all are marginal in this case you know I think a lot of people were watching in New Hampshire since the last debate they're seeking alternatives there's there's such a deal on the specially more moderates looking for someone that they think can be edited for that group include which are had an impressive nine and she's had a decent night in in Iowa and she seems to be the the the flavor right now for some folks here here's what here's the cabbie out for any clover try though okay she doesn't have like like Biden lots of resources to date you might get a bounce now in those resources but she certainly doesn't have any enormous field operation in compared good to be J. H. R. or Sanders and a lot of these places and so can she put that together really quickly and be competitive in those aspects of the race you gotta you gotta see that opportunity really quickly and this is our window Chris Bork is with us from Muhlenberg college interesting numbers that I've been looking at recent polls he asked looking at a general election match up trump Biden Sanders warm Bloomberg Bodish age clover shar everyone of them beat trump in a popular vote poll it can the considering that we ARE Clinton beat trump in the popular vote can those numbers be really deceiving just because you're able to wait in the heads up match up that if you don't want in the right states in the right ways then it doesn't make a difference that you are being in the polls by four points that so so right and soon enough the people didn't learn a lesson from twenty sixteen I mean ever yeah the the the having national lead in the polls it is good and match ups with the president but that's not how the game is played it's played to the electoral college and and I can see a pop for this is early in the game where are the president loses even bigger in terms of a popular vote because of margins being around up in places like California and New York going on more and left leaning states and have some modest close victories again in in key states like like this one of Pennsylvania and can win the electoral college so yeah I could see those polls number while being the the deal and you know they're holding up for for awhile even maybe into the fallen and at the end of the day the doesn't matter if if you don't get two hundred seventy electoral votes that game and we take snapshots there on a regular basis when it comes to pulling because it they day very so much from time to time and you'd like to see a Michael which are really responding from the debate on Friday when you look at the front runners at this point who which one do you see playing the bass when it comes to getting supporters of the Commonwealth yeah that's the you know so much of the game in the coming right through to here Robert and I you know if someone's follow Pennsylvania politics and called complaining politics I think you win enough speed through the middle of a hold to that today I think it's much harder path to do it by energizing the last like some claim can happen look who wins are Democrats do governor wall Bob Casey folks that have have won easily in the state are generally considered to be more moderate that doesn't mean there you know weekly to the the center but they're among Democrats that lean that way they win he's only in the state it's a challenge I believe for a more progressive person to carry Pennsylvania it's not that it can't be done I just think that path harder so I tend to think a candidate that that emerge yes someone gave me a quote which I would be an interesting match up in the state I also think of course even though the struggling Joe Biden I have one an Irish strong democratic of of nominee and the and the Commonwealth and I also look to someone like Mike Bloomberg keep an eye on on Bloomberg with his resources and if if imagine this race continues on a base model what we might be in the mix in Pennsylvania's primary on on April twenty eight this as having some some states plane and these run a lot of ads are ready here so those can it certainly I think it one one one have any good natural fit for the state let's go back to the two thousand sixteen primary with Republicans to compare it to the Democrats today in New Hampshire exit polling showed that north of forty percent of New Hampshire primary voters made their decision within the past twenty four to forty eight hours comparatively speaking what does that say to you I think you know it it it it says Searchin in Ohio for his phone we we pull in the Democrats in in Pennsylvania and I've seen in the national polls the single biggest desire of democratic candidates this this year a static in at that that could be the president and they if the trade off is that you have someone that doesn't align as much with you as other candidates because the president can't individual say they'll go that way I think Democrats are speaking for that sure there's you know passion for certain cannot senator Sanders being an example of that but I think you have a lot of of those people that are making up their mind at the last minute and this could be article matar's relative success tonight is that they are looking for someone that they think meets that expectation and are not yet satisfied that they found that
Democratic race starts in earnest with Iowa caucuses
"Let's go to Ohio what since you're just talking about Iowa in Iowa I've never been Iowa yeah I've actually gone to the caucuses I went in twenty sixteen okay how are they fascinating really totally fascinating it's because I ones by and large I was just talking to somebody last night his parents live in Iowa they know everything about politics they said they study they do would really seriously they study all the candidates they they know the intricacies of the policies and the differences between them and the other their consulate kicking the tires I get to meet a lot of the candidates is really fascinating to watch and by the time they make it a caucus night where you have to sit there and you watch like a pep rally essentially we a series of speeches are given by surrogate for the candidates who will give up and give like in a two minute speeches or whatever to try and convince the room to support them and in the democratic caucus what they do by the end of it they just got they'll stand in corners of the room as a mass of people to show you who they support and if you don't reach a fifteen percent threshold tonight you've got to pick another candidate you got to go to can't with more support so if your candidate fails three fifteen percent in that room move your massive people somewhere else one now and how long does this take what is this all start when did when did the games begin eight o'clock tonight and so they that kind of time to go at eight o'clock tonight I get it and then stand there and be involved in this for hours with under the get to bed the ida B. you got to be an adult I don't think I think you can bring your kids if you want but it's eighteen or older have to it you know loading loading age yeah and you go and you just do you pick a candidate it's really it's really neat honestly I it's one of the most fascinating political things I've ever sent all right well we know that Bernie Sanders is leading in Iowa and New Hampshire he has taken the lead in both of those states which is interesting considering that he has been kept in Washington DC with Elizabeth Warren and Amy clover charm Michael Bennett during the impeachment trial her trial where is Joe Biden has been out on the campaign trail and a lot of people have seen I've been saying this all along they're doing this to hose Bernie the reason close he held on to those impeachment articles I firmly believe is because she wanted a hose Bernie she is she did not wish you want to give by now a little bit of a boost a little bit of an edge and we joked about them doing everything by carrying him you know on their shoulders over the line if she's clearly out to get him and she she since she was even saying in a newspaper interview this weekend this out to the South Florida sun Sentinel is that she is very nervous about how progress of these candidates are how left left wing they are even her she said as a San Francisco liberal she says what are you thinking in terms of like government run health care she's like Nancy Pelosi speaking out against government run healthcare woman who was behind obamacare yes the woman who's a probably walked with the with the not valid you know down down the street you know you know she was so proud of you barely had right hold on to it yes to the woman who was behind that the government take over a darker the woman who didn't read the bill zero eight all right so in South Carolina though so Bernie's guy Iowa New Hampshire wrapped up in South Carolina of course Biden leading by thirty one points right no wait yes it's happening in South Carolina what's happening at one point a Biden Joe by misleading as much as thirty one percentage points in South Carolina he now only holds a five point lead over Bernie Sanders this is wild it's crazy that that that's it that is big news it's huge it this is the latest post and career change research poll which is a local South Carolina so it's of no local paper in South Carolina and Biden is at twenty five percent Sanders is at twenty now what's interesting is guess was in third place place there visit Bloomberg no Tom style the other billion Tom Stoddard believe it or not is in third place he has made to South Carolina priority in he's spent a boatload of money in in that state with advertising right and now he is it eighteen percent so he's only two percentage points behind Sanders St amazing it's crazy Elizabeth Warren is a fourth at eleven percent body judges at seven percent I know other Democrat is polling above three percent in South Carolina and ten percent of voters have no no pack ten percent of voters have no pack in South Carolina well I think I mean if your campaign and you're about to roll through Iowa New Hampshire you're looking at the South Carolina numbers and saying ten percent have no choice yet here's my opportunity yep no challenger to buy no has pulled up more than twenty percent you know Bernie Sanders may do that he only has a five point lead over burnt over Bernie Sanders what's happening I I know someone who's big huge very supporter yeah and I go out it will go back and forth it is a very friendly conversation but I have to tell you there and she's just dumb as a rock and I hate to say that but it's true and I have to say like one just so much more to but there's a disconnect in her brain were you can put the facts out there and put links to articles about certain things yes and she just thinks that she's just gonna save more money by the government taking it off sure it's it's a weird the weirdest thing here's a here's my problem with Bernie supporters is that it's the socialism and but the socialism particularly it's a weird thing the critique from the socialists from Bernie Sanders is vis gross concentrations of power lead to corruption what they're going to prison where they could have with the gross concentration of power going to consume into the governor exactly so what they'll do is they'll say they they basically attack gross concentrations of power which lead to corruption and I think that diamond is is right on course concentrations of power do lead to corruption so they're gonna make the government corrupt they're just gonna bring in more money and in the end what is that too it never results in better government it always results in more hands being plunged into that pot and people being explored yeah well she struck the cool a big time so Joe Biden receives thirty percent backing from black South Carolina voters gets his number two in support among African Americans in South Carolina among African American in South Carolina I'm sorry yes wow Tom dire I he has been he has been visiting here is a large black populations hiring blacks staffers he's a twenty four percent of following Joe Biden's thirty percent backing among black voters and then sixteen percent Sanders at sixteen percent and worn a ten percent chance of courses at two percent a boy meanwhile our media doesn't even pay any attention to
Senate defeats motion to call witnesses in Trump impeachment trial
"A fifty one forty nine split. The Senate has blocked emotion to subpoena new witnesses in the impeachment trial. The trial is now in recess. Senator Susan Susan Collins and Mitt Romney were the only Republicans to cross party lines and vote in favor of hearing witnesses. After days of arguments and questions from senators a vote on whether to acquit president trump is still outstanding to discuss where things go from here as Wall Street Journal reporter Natalie Andrews from the capital Natalie. Now that this motion the Senate has failed to pass. What's next Senate leader Mitch? McConnell and Chuck Schumer are working to negotiate some sort of resolution to end and the trial would democrats have power right now. They have leverage to bring in a lot of motions which could result in a late Friday nights and given the partisan nature of the Senate. Most of the motions aren't likely to pass so Mitch. McConnell is trying to negotiate a deal that gives Democrats something they want on timing and also oh results in Democrats yielding. Maybe on the floor control that they that the resolution gives them Hong Timeframe. Are we talking about potentially aides. It's around the Senate and senators themselves seemed to be thinking that the trial will end on Wednesday. The schedule that has kind of been pitched to them would be that Monday in Tuesday could be speeches. The senators could give up about the trial on the floor and then the final vote could be Wednesday but that is not set again. That is why the leaders are shading. Isn't the mood likely to become more partisan than ever. Now that this vote has been taken again. It was very interesting to see the reasoning of that. A lot of senators put out about why they opposed the witnesses. Senators like we. We him Kawasaki. Who is considered an unknown possible? Swing vote. She said that she didn't have confidence. That Congress could give the president of fair trial so she was was voting to end the trial early by not voting to bring in new witnesses and information. She's a member of Congress so for her to acknowledge that Congress can't give the president a fair trial. It's striking Republican. Senators have acknowledged. The president has done some wrong. Doing but say the impeachment will be harmful for the country or that. The offense doesn't rise missile of impeachment. So certainly the reasons that we're seeing on. Why Republicans want to end? This trial are broad and speak to the partisan. Addison divides in the country out of the timing work. And all this there are a lot of things happening over the next week What were the state of the Union speech and campaigning? Having vote on Wednesday means that you could break in Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders Mea Culpa. Michael Bennett all presidential candidates will probably go to Iowa this weekend and campaign. Because they're looking at the Iowa caucuses on Monday and then you would have Donald. Trump's stated union speech each which is scheduled for Tuesday and then acquittal. Vote or vote that will likely end in acquittal of the president on Wednesday so pretty big weaken American politics next week. We're looking at
How will Trump's impeachment affect November elections?
"Even as the Senate impeachment trial is set to get underway president Donald Trump touts his economic success while at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Tuesday he said that the US has regained its edge against other nations in areas like trade job creation and energy when I spoke at this forum two years ago I told you that we had launched the great American come back today I'm proud to declare that the United States is in the midst of an economic boom the likes of which the world has never seen before Rick Davis we were talking earlier about all the other things going on in addition to impeachment the the broad expectation is that president trump will not be convicted he will stay in office finish out his term with all that being said the presidential election coming up what is the game here what are the Democrats to take it from that perspective hoping trying to accomplish here well I do think there's a element of trying to change the narrative trump just had a big success signing a trade deal with China that he said he was gonna bring China to their knees and arguably he can he can declare some success and the ratification even in the midst of all this impeachment of the U. S. M. C. A. the trade deal between Canada and US it's quite a feather in his cap I mean he's gonna have a signing ceremony while impeachment is going on showing the American public that he's out there doing the hard work the presidency in in you load on top of that low unemployment and investment breaks great stock market records and and he's got a story to tell that that doesn't include impeachment so I think the fact that the Democrats have made a huge gambit on saying we want to start this year an election year talking about impeachment means they have confidence that somehow this is gonna nor to their benefit sure they're gonna tell yeah all we're doing this because the right thing to do and the country needs to have written you know this this this catharsis because otherwise gosh this guy will be uncontrolled and the remainder of his presidency but the reality is this is all about elections and there is an election in ten months and regardless of what happens with impeachment there's gonna be an up or down vote on Donald Trump and and Democrats I think believe that somehow this is going to help them I think the jury's out just like it is on impeachment Craig when all this is said and done in a few weeks months whatever it is how would one define success for Democrats here is it winning over a few Republican votes is at getting John Bolton up there and and saying embarrassing things about the president what what how would you define success is they're they're democratic fetching involves trying to get no Republican votes the expectation is that if you were down from twenty sixteen you're still gonna go from a twenty twenty year dug in your ear dug in deep and you're gone you're either going up with the server down with the ship this is all aimed at those moderates in the middle and again as we talk about every cycle rate can talk about it better than I can even but you know there are those I think it's people things maybe ten or fifteen percent people kind of in the middle who are like you know twenty sixteen act much care for Hillary from kinda like the cut of trump's J. about love that guy from the apprentice he seems like a real decisive guy I'm gonna roll the dice and take my chances you know three years and they're like oh my gosh what have I done they don't let you talk to Democrats when they do focus groups people say they talk about the tweets like I don't really like to tweets which is become kind of a substitute for like I really like his style like he's got a real not very nice to people in the in the you know whatever so I think that the I mean it's a kind of I don't want to sound so cynical but a lot of this impeachment is aimed at maybe that ten percent fifteen percent twenty percent of the way outside the Democrats think are persuaded bowl you know former trump voters are people least took a took a walk on the trump side of the street maybe could come over to the Democrats and really want to dirty up trump as best they can you know he was he was shady and that way you don't Ukrainians and etcetera I think it's a huge gamble I think you know again as we just talked about a last second if you are not exactly riveted by the impeachment yet at least so far and I think Democrats put a lot of chips on this particular square it may work it may not but what they have what trump has is always of Rick said great economy two or three good trade deals and and a real you know telling his back yeah I would say just to add to that is that part of the play for the Democrats as defensive right I mean if you blow see the speaker of the house did not want to DO impeachment and it was the left wing of her party that forced her into it I mean she resisted resisted and she finally caved in because the one thing they can't afford is a disenfranchised base right I mean Hillary Clinton lost in states like Wisconsin because she underperformed what Barack Obama got there by eight in this case in two thousand sixteen she got two hundred fifty thousand fewer votes than Barack Obama did Donald Trump got twenty thousand fewer votes than Mitt Romney did but was able to beat Hillary Clinton that state because she didn't turn out base so a lot of the democratic strategy is fire up that base make sure they're happy if they deliver at the scale that they did for a bomb it's very hard to see a scenario where Donald Trump wins Craig this of course is going on right is were approaching the first presidential primary in Iowa it is there an easy way to describe what impact it's going to have on on the primary especially with some of the leading candidates not all of them but some of them here in Washington and sitting quietly in their seats drinking well yeah sort of at the tactical level it's a great day for Joe Biden or people to judge because you're not a member the United States Senate and so you're free to is moved to Iowa for the next two weeks and and set up shop for the senators running obviously Sanders and Warren called which are really Michael Bennett is still running for president someone told me today so I guess for senators you know it's it's actually trick here I do think out of the more on the strategic level though this is kind of baked into the cake for democratic primary voters and I will you don't really here the campus talk that much about it it's kind of understood of your democratic primary voters like accepted that you don't much care for Donald Trump weather's being in Peter not impeach or convicted or acquitted it it's all it's sort of like the backdrop against which the whole campaign is being run so the the rallies I attended when I was in I was people I've talked to it doesn't come up that much but I do think it's on the front of the minds of primary voters in one important way which is we need to find a candidate that can beat Donald Trump that's really good news for Joe Biden let's goodness for some of the others but that is really the the sort of the driving force behind the caucuses in the primaries are to come Rick isn't about thirty seconds if you can we get to November where is impeachment in Ukraine where to those rank on the panoply of of the issues that voters are going to think about when they well I think I'm on a piece of it I mean we blow through issues so quickly nowadays because of the mass media and how quickly we cycled through things that I would be surprised that the trend actually carries much weight November I would say though that that that Ukraine scandal will continue all right even though impeachment will end in a couple of weeks they'll still be reporting about these crazy deals that we're trying to be struck and what was happening so I wouldn't be surprised if Ukraine has a doesn't have that were porting on it doesn't have a bigger impact in the impeachment itself okay my thanks to Rick Davis former John McCain national campaign manager in Bloomberg contributor in Craig Gordan Bloomberg's Washington

"Is and I'm not saying that Michael Bennett season through six games played with the New England Patriots Video Clip I tweeted it's on my twitter at arduous show in the blog on the voice twitter at blog on the boys if you want to go see that it's also on the blood on the voice instagram I'm blogging dot the dot boys are username you can also check it out on the block Boyz facebook they'll give us a like but so he has two and a half sacks to six games the Dallas cowboys have played seven games tarrant Crawford on injured reserve has one endurance Armstrong has one in late and vander has half of a sack so that's interesting you know again I'm not saying up two and a half sacks XLII you know Bob Bob game this is over whatever no but it is an interesting data point nonetheless it also is interesting by the way the cowboys will visit the Patriots in New England clearly Fine dealing Michael Bennett to a team that's going to visit them in about a month so in fact exactly a month today that we're recording this you know again you're listening on Friday but it is October twenty fourth is I'm sitting here talking to you and the cowboys will be a New England on November twenty fourth my wife my dad my mom I will be there are brand new puppy bear will not be there and a big thank you by the way through those of you who continue to provide feedback and help when it comes to raising a puppy this is a new venture for me but okay it's time for some comments questions whatever if you want to see these questions or whatever you can go to the tweet that I had and just sort of click on it and see the thread Chris Rendell on twitter Akron Dawson's I'm cautiously optimistic about this move but is this a defensive end move I don't need help on the interior of the line a little confused on valuable versus need in this scenario I definitely believe that Michael Bennett is a defensive end but this absolutely addresses the issues that have had a long the interior it gives them again those are the sexiest words in the Dallas Cowboys Front Office Position Flex it gives them that ability to put him inside to kick him in to do whatever they want because now they have some bodies now they have some options had that what tyrone Crawford and now they have that with Michael Bennett by the way a little bit I don't know if this makes you feel better we got some great feedback about the show Michael Kit from bleeding green nation radio joining us last week by the way he joined us to talk about the Cowboys Eagles game and if you didn't know the cowboys beat the Eagles thirty seven to ten so I just want to make sure everybody that should tell you a lot coming from somebody very smart Stephen on twitter at yellow goes yards is unless you can play inside I don't know the trade there's a lot of tweets like this I'm telling you Michael Bennett can play in side this is a very very very good move look at these questions there are a lot of people who are missed again considering Michael Bennett's off the field excursions off the field situations off the field history but I don't think you have to worry about that I mean this locker room is very strong or very tight I mean think the demarcus Lawrence is a leader in this locker room Jalen Smith is a leader. leaders I mean the cowboys have a lot of guys in there that are very very very strong in their roles about to let a guy like Michael Bennett come in and just along for the ride he's just a puppet but if you Jason Garrett would you allow this move to happen if you were in a contractor everything was sort of hanging in the balance of your Jerry Jones and you were this close I mean would you really really jeopardize things by bringing in a Michael Bennett no I think that the cow was absolute really believe in this working out to their benefit because of the fact that they have done their homework on this again Russian from on twitter at Shane Underscore Anthony Ninety four do you think Chris was shot in on this move since it used to be as coach and Seattle absolutely there's no way the always make this move without questioning questioning but without running a by Chris Rashard and running a buy in terms of what you think man what's the guy like how is he etc I mean it's a really able to have somebody that knows him that well in Chris Shar the cavs are certainly a group of people that have done their homework so good for that I I'm really truly not worried about him in that regard but I get why you are on twitter Tony Underwood at Tony underwood eighty seven I liked the move just hope he doesn't get upset with playing time and in part of a rotation that's a fair concern I mean it's not like they're starting opportunities available for the cowboys again he's going to be somebody that has snaps he's going to see he's GonNa his abilities to contribute as a player that's undeniable we know that about Michael Bennett we know that about the state of this defensive line because they need help they need that you need that body remember Antoine Woods was hurt I mean they need that guy maybe if anyone's upset it's Christian Covington I don't know but I I think the is a great move another question from the detoxified detox four three zero four three did they get them for depth absolutely this is a depth move and to answer the other question about while hopefully he's not upset about playing time whatever there are very very few times where in late October trading for a guy that is going to be a legitimate starter especially on defense the offense sniff things happen but is is depth think about you go get death because the NFL we say this all the time is a battle of attrition you have to survive and the cowboys are their low nup. I mean there's no other way to put it they are putting up so overall again I really from an onfield football only perspective really like this move I get it while you might have concerns but my gut instinct is that all of those things are going to be okay and nobody really has to worry so again this will serve as our Friday episodes will make sure you have an agree We can't just have an absolutely fantastic weekend there is no cowboys game going on Abbott enjoy the rest of the NFL Games again. Wow can't believe with the Vikings did.

"NFL Hill offer seventh round draft they say no he'll just hang up that phone this is the kind of move that people have clamored for the cops to and I would honestly say that they'd been doing this for a while now and I know you're probably going to say Oh yeah I know you're talking about the trade that six round pick Robert Quinn I got you bro I would actually go a step further last year they traded a sixth round traffic on Austin the cowboys they're now realizing look I'm not trying to say that sixth and seventh round draft picks aren't valuable but the cowboys are now saying you know what let's go get that a kind of cute sort of spicy veteran that guy that we can help our football team let's give up that six hundred picks go into get Austin think about it as you and I sit here talking listening to this precision tape on Austin scored the opening touchdown against Eagles last week he's a valuable player on this cowboys team certainly on this cowboys offense they're going to Robert Quinn this past offseason for six hundred epic I don't have to tell you how great of a move that's been for them they go now and trade for Michael Bennett and this is again from a price perspective this is a home run all right we're talking about a want to test a fantasy but a shot to my Saturday morning hangover coast pleasure we pulled off a trade in our dynasty that we have with a couple of buddies and some people and stuff and and I you know in in getting the blended Amari Cooper that's the point of the trade but I threw in a two thousand twenty one on third round draft pick and when I pulled up the traders like dude two thousand twenty one that's like five years from now like who cares about that and that's exactly what this is two thousand twenty one and again that's a five years away from now that's not even next year's draft and it is a seventh round draft pick at absolute best case in over the cowboys at worst case it's a sixth round draft pick so tell me I'm losing my sixth round draft pick a year and a half or now for a really good player really good player with position flags can play outside play inside we'll get to that in a second that is again I'll do that deal all day long and I feel fantastic about it and that's exactly what to do with Michael Bennett so good could for them from a price perspective thought number two again five quick thoughts on the cowboys trading Michael Bennett this is very clearly the answer tarrant Crawford we know the tunnel Crawford was put on injured reserve.

You never know how it's going to be a separate into the world. So it was always cool. So I, I'm curious because you're obviously a guy who has played football at the highest level won a Super Bowl, but you are a lot more than that. And you say that all the time you're like, I'm not just a football player a lot more than that. When did when did that like when when did the feeling like, hey, I have a platform and I want to speak out when did that start to kind of come through? Was it because of Pete Carroll was because of a certain coach was or or where did that happen? Because my parents, I think my parents have always instilled us to have a voice being able to get back to community and finding ways to impact people around us. Think you know when you grew up in a household, full leadership ill house, you to go out into the world and find your place, I think, but also think being around somebody like p Carroll that allows you to neither here lousy too, but the atmosphere. Your allows people to be more open. It is. Creativity is always like the Google approach to new ways. People are doing business in..
