"She's I always say we're not going to play that again either. This is 60 minutes. And we play it again anyway. Maybe I'm effing around too much. I'm sure I'll find out. Mike's got a funny way of paying you back. It's all right. I'm used to it. Right in the whole book about my own failures, by the way. It's a doozy. Why would you write a book about your failures? 'cause I got tired of reading people's stupid 12 step books about their successes. Hey, look at me, how I made a $1 million. I don't give a crap how you made a $1 million. You know what I want to know? I want to know how you lost a $1 million. You know why? Because when you tell me how you lost a $1 million, I'm not going to repeat your stupid freaking mistakes. So I decided to write a book. It's not even available for presale. So don't worry I'm not trying to tell you this to say your book. I decided to write a book. The book's all about my failures, not my successes. You know why? Because I don't want you to repeat them. A guy came up to me in the gym. I've been talking about this book, nice guy. I was there about a week ago. And yes, unlike liberal stories, this actually happened. I do go to the gym and I did meet this guy local Martin county sheriff guy. He's got a promotion. And he said, you know, I'm interested in reading your book. What do you think the top line lesson is? I said, listen, tell the students and folks are going to be teaching and supervising. You know, I made a bunch of mistakes and my job with you is to not let you repeat mine for you to create your own new mistakes. And right? That's it. Then it shrinks the pool of mistakes. We can all make. So I'm putting them almost done. Monday is my, I think, last writing session on the book, it'll probably be out next year. And it's all about my failures and man, they are legion. Even the title of the book addresses failures. I addressed it the title may be a total failure. And even if the book is a failure, I may have to rethink the title. But I don't want to hear about your successes. I'd rather hear about your failures. And how they happen. You know that whole success of rumble only happened because of some of the mistakes made with parler. I only found myself in business school because I failed trying to get into medical school. Failed. I tell a story in the book about how I didn't get on the cat team, the counter assault team and the Secret Service because I couldn't try out because they had made it either could do this job or another job, and something that happened in the Secret Service beforehand. I explained the whole story and how I thought at the time it was some cataclysmic failure. But it turned out to be one of the best things that ever happened to me. Failures, I want to hear about failures. I want to hear about your successes. Speaking of failures, the media research center, who I love, they are spectacular. They have news busters at whole operation. The media research center, they put out their list of failures. They have their worst media quotes of the year. And I would be remiss if I did not go through this. So I'm not going to tell you who won yet. Jim, I'm going to let you and Mike pick your own, but they had the top four worst media quotes of the year. So let's go through them in order. Hot tip media research center. Worst goofball quotes of the year by lunatics on television. Number one entrant number one is Michael Beck lost a historian and I'm putting the air quotes around that. Who says that people will be nothing. People will be killed. If Republicans won in the midterms, well, thankfully, they lost the set of people dead bodies would be everywhere. This is contender number one, Michael beckwith. We could be 6 days away from losing our rule of law. A historian will say, what was at stake tonight and this week was the fact whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed, we're on the edge of a brutal authoritarian system and it could be a week away. This is what passes for commentary. What was that MSNBC or CNN matter same thing? The Republicans win the election. You'll be in hand called you'll be dead. Dead bodies everywhere. Blood coating the streets. The howls of children, Jim, it'll be a massacre like the river nad massacre yesterday to Thursday night massacre was. Jim knows what I'm talking about. We had an explosion of rain down here. I murdered yesterday at least 25 river net. Jim could hear their screams in the studio.

"Here is some bizarre audio This is out of MSNBC This is a historian Michael Beck loth Talking about this is the kind of stuff I'm telling you This is where the air If you were a Republican say oh my Fox show talking about or even hinting at a coming like Civil War that because Republicans are going to lose their minds and start attacking people They'd be like what are you doing You would be on the crazy media matters lunatics would be like screaming and peeing themselves Here's a guy in MSNBC saying as Supreme Court man you know Civil War it's a possibility Yeah check this out This country further in the direction of some kind of new Civil War I mean that's obviously something pretty alarming They're tell us what you mean by that while you think that I'm not saying that lightly Savannah I think you know why don't usually overstate things Here's a case where the Supreme Court is doing a decision that is going to fly in the face of at least what polls tell us is a majority of Americans maybe 60 to 70% And if you look at human history and American history that tends to push a society and the Civil War or at least towards Civil War if it's something that's as basic as this Now I get it because again I'm not a crazy leftist who's going to mischaracterize a man's words He says historian and he's going to say well I'm just looking at the data points throughout history and when polling is really bad on an issue like this You know you get societal strife and Civil War Okay you know what Fair enough But again this is the kind of thing whereas I'm a fair host I am I'm a conservative I'm an opinion guy I have conservative opinions But I do believe in fairness I promise you if Donald Trump would have mentioned that word Right now he would get no such deference None As a matter of fact when Donald Trump says something like go march peacefully and patriotically He accused of inciting a violent insurrection

"It's a it's a description of something that exists in human history. It's something you without what you cannot understand human history michael look. I did some preliminary research on this. Because i've heard you mentioned this before. And i'm not claiming that. I did deep research on it but i did. Enough research on it to contend that the ride now voyager was not a jewish group. It was a group made up of disgruntled russian aristocrats. It was actually antisemitic. And it was founded by michael beck conan who was an anti semite and who attacked jewish bankers and a lot of the cliches and those only later that they let in jews after they had become communists it was inspired originally by italian communists who i assume had some catholic roots people like bruno and others and that it had no connection to speak up to judaism. I mean. i'm sorry to disagree with you. But i just think that This this isn't it you know it's the yes. There were a lot of jews who were attracted to bolshevism. There's no question about that. It is one of the stains on jewish history in my opinion in the same way that there were a lot of catholics. Who were attracted to nazism in it was a diversion. It was an anti-christian and anti jewish movement eventually the jews of course pay the price in russia that because under stalin they were. They were executed and exiled. I i again i. I have to disagree with you. If you're talking about charity parallels black paths. If you're talking about that that was a broad-based back to the land movement that wanted reform in russia. Now okay so. How are you going to do that. Back to the land while you go back to the peasants and you start talking about. I don't know the french revolution something like that. And what happened is that there were jews. Jews were. Nash are always going to be drawn to these movements. Because because they're jews some because and and and they were drawn to it and they realized okay the hand of the anti communist movement to. I mean we can talk about that too. Okay but i'm talking. I wanted to talk about this part. Okay so the jew goes to the village. And he's obviously a jew. He's obviously an alien. He's trying to preach something. That sounds revolutionary. So they go to the cops and it goes nowhere. Okay at this point. The jews are starting to feel frustrated. And they break away from that original back to the land movement and they create nodar. Diavolo which is a terrorist organization history and that is right. Okay all right then. We're going to have to disagree. We're an arm triangle. I'm going to say. Is i would ask you to read those chapters in the jewish revolutionary spirit and see if i made my case because i broke off the these the history group..

"Stride jeff harmon here with as always every friday in the second segment. Michael beck joins us now. Michael before we talk about anything else. I don't know if you listened to my podcast. On wednesday where i answered question the mail we had someone submit a question. There was about your name now. I've constantly added to your name to make it down even more ridiculous every single time. i think. now it's coach. Mr captain blue checkmark unease and what if you just called them. Blue check back. I said i'd have to coach their coach. Blue check back. Which one do you like that. I mean that's a pretty good ring to blue check back. What what are your thoughts michael. I'm always down for good rhymes. it's less of a mouthful all the titles are Are definitely wanted. Say but maybe we should go with the forty franken check baghdad. I blanked on a late five minutes after he asked the question anyways. Okay so maybe we'll do that but we're here with michael back coach. I gotta ask. How did last week go last time we talked you had you were coming off of a pretty bad loss. You're gearing up hoping to see some improvement in the squad. How did you do last week right. So we were again unsuccessful but Uh saw a little bit of fight from the guy Thankfully we got our home opener this year. Brand new stadium Appeared simon fraser river excited to to play some action from some fans of pure for the first time a very long time. This course d. To play last yourself Said about the getting in front of the people in front of some friends and family and the getting to hall. It's pretty exciting It setting. I gotta get the i w home is it. A winnable game is a matchup bureau before to. Oh it definitely looking forward to it at any time This is our first conference game of the year. Two and it you notice like at any time you're playing the steelers planet. Say the bengals last year when they lost Anything can happen when you're playing those division game sewer works for the challenge. Got central washington coming up here so Matches your sound. More like mike tyler. Every week keep it up. I like it all right. Let's get to the pittsburgh steelers. They obviously victorious in week one Not many people thought they were going to win. Michael what was the one aspect of this game that after the steelers win which were all happy about. No one wants to see the steelers lose. But i think there are some fans at due for release sadistic reasons but nonetheless when you saw when you're man i never saw that happening in. That's what might have led to a win. What was that thing for you. And we've one. Oh you know what. Playing excellent defense from whistle the whistle Being the entirety of the game like you rarely see it in today's nfl. Let alone just at any specific team but the way the rules were set up at it just so everything also nicely the offense be able to move the ball but this dealers defense was dominant for sixty eight minutes. So that's the reason why one's game they were able to To hold that high park bills offense in check at home in front of all those crazy bills fans and they were able to do that for sixty minutes that honestly. That's the reason weather successful if they can fear out a way to do that. Each and every game. I don't i don't just steam losing love football gates yet. No doubt for me. It was the special teams touchdown. Special teams touchdowns. It's like you can never bank on them. If they happen sometimes happened in an entire season. Let alone the week. One game on the road in that fashion. It was such a quick turnaround after the t. j. watts. I think it was a watts. Aggrava- sacked josh allen. Next thing you know. They're putting a seven more points on the board. But let's go ahead and let's look ahead now to the week. Two matchup with the las. Vegas raiders the raiders. Come to town coming off of a big overtime win over the baltimore ravens on monday night. Football there banged up but michael. I want to ask you a simple question. Think back to week one. Give me a player on offense and a player on defense. You might not have played up to the standard. If we're using mike tomlin's. The standard is the standard slogan motto. Whatever you wanna call it. Give me a player on offense and defense that needs to play better in week. Two for the steelers to start the year off to announce. Well i think on offense. It is not surprising to say the least forty to have a great game. We saw max crosby did to former up. Its fuel around villanueva. just absolutely. I ate his lunch game long. So jukes needs a big game. He needs to be excellent. Impasse broking able to drive guys off the ball and run game. He needs to step up with that right tackle that he keeps somehow finding himself into but he definitely needs to play better defensively. There really isn't too many people the point the finger at Jeffrey benedict love schubert's game. But there's a number of people out there that say the opposite. It's tough to point to someone. Let's say they need to play better on that defense out of the football because it how well they did play. But i pointed trout Say is getting too big week this week. Because he's going to be getting a healthy dose of waller who's probably the greatest stretch of games that a tight ends ever played in the history the nfl. About what eight straight games. Over a hundred yards multiple touchdown so Slowing down is going to be key. So i'm putting the finger at troll admits for guy that needs a big big game.

"And rowdy in the room tonight. Folks if you were you could have been a part of the pre show discussion roof between the other two guys on this show. I don't know they were in the same room. I'd have been to blows but anyway let's bring those two individuals weighing in. I'm not gonna guess brian. Anthony davis podcast. What's up brian. Dave eats dirt any other corner waiting in. And i'm not gonna gas dave scofield. The editor steel curtain day. Hey if someone else thinks that they can understand numbers better than me. They could try try. That's why i sat there and laugh. Okay let's get this show on the road all right. The pittsburgh steelers are wanna know. We talked about that ad nauseam. This week it's now time to start to turn our attention to the las. Vegas raiders coming to pittsburgh at heinz field in week two. It's it's before we get started. I want to get urologist overall. Gist of this game. There's there's the fans that are like michael beck. Michael beck has been saying. He said it in his live. Mike podcasts on tuesday. He reiterated that to me on. Let's ride when he was on with me. Let's ride on a friday debut on our audio side. He thinks game's laugher. He thinks it's going to be a blow out double digit win for the double digit lead. Win for the steelers. How do you all think this game is gonna play. I don't want predictions right now. But i'm just thinking how you feeling about this game as we sit here on thursday night. Brian will serve with you. I feel that this is a very dangerous game. And the reason i'm saying. That is because the raiders could come in with a very bad team. We've seen it in two thousand nine with prescribed cousy. We saw in two thousand eighteen when everything broke down and everything went wrong. Josh dobbs was in there the broken x ray machines. Ray machine gained chris. Boswell falling down where we lost that game sitting next to how you know what not invited anymore after tonight. We're allowed to fight a lot of talent. when you're being poopie head. I mean yeah but you know it's dangerous now. I remember week to in two thousand to one brian. Anthony davis did not know that he was sitting among greatness when he was there. Because one tony jeff was in the house too and the steelers were supposed to roll in that game. And the raiders. Silly things happened in that game too. It always seems like silly things happen. Then lynn swann. Blew me off in the concourse and i swore i would never vote for him again and i didn't so i cursed him in the few thousand four election but with that being said this is a team that just played the baltimore ravens and we were rooting hard for this team the other night and they had no business winning that game two or three times they had they screwed up and they kept on getting second chances in that game i stayed up for the entire thing and when you come away with a victory like that one of two things happen you wanna to get cocky or to. You're like wait a second we can do this. And it's not the cockiness. It's the fact that you're out there and youth you you get that mojo and you feel like you're going to be able to do so much more. They have some stars on that team. That i think are really tough. One on defense one on offense and they. You cannot overlook this team. So don't get cocky steelers after that week one win when you were not exactly stellar okay. So you found my camp Dave are you in the jeff hartmann. Be careful in this game or you in the michael back. This game is going to be pretty easy. I am definitely more in the jeff. Hartmann camp I guess the best way to say it is. I probably had more confidence in the steelers with this game before last week. If you know what. I mean because now it almost seems like the expectations are so much more and it doesn't mean that the steelers do it. Because i'm going to say it all the time. The i feel the steelers can absolutely win every game but i also see where they could absolutely lose it as well when you look at it game by game. There's a reason you can see it as you go. And and sorry. Love michael beck but if you remember last year he was convinced way. Steelers could come up anywhere short of the afc jp agip game and we all know how that played out. That's what happens when you're so certain that a team was going to do well but it doesn't matter how certain we are. What we don't want is the steelers feeling that way yet. I mean this team and really. I'd not every can say they can win every single game. Play the steelers. I believe are in that category. Every team can lose every game as well. I mean you turn the ball over and some. We'll get to that. We're going to get what i want to talk about today. Though in this podcast least for the first half is think back to last week. Who are some players. That did not play bless. Just say up to your standard and need to improve their game in some way shape or form. This is completely subjective. You can pick whoever you like and you give your own justification. That's your list. It doesn't matt. So dave always pooh-poohed gona brian. i. I'm gonna go to dave. I civil making equities important dave. Gimme a player that you feel like needs to play better this sunday at hinds you okay. Well i'm gonna. I'm not gonna give dave answer. I'm just gonna kinda change up. How i'm looking at it because you know i'm a numbers guy. I'm not saying i'm not saying that. This player didn't play well. But i would like to see based on opportunity and everything else i would like to see more numbers from najji harris. I would like to see you know more yards more. We're not going to say anymore. A greater number and percentage of offensive snaps. Because you can't you can't top. That would because he was out there every snap. But i'm just saying even overall yards like make those connections on the short passes to where he can. He can get some yards in in the passing game as well. I'm not saying that. i think that. Oh he didn't do. You didn't step up. And i'm not saying that i'm saying just like to see more of a numbers production Based on the offensive game plan. Yeah for sure. I could see that. Yeah absolutely absolutely brian What do you think he's a player that you want to see a little bit better this..

"People can use. Once you learn that you'll never be the same again. You guys know who. That's philosopher is screaming out right that's philosopher so question. The walls the artificial walls up the world around us he went to create things that you guys now carry in your pants such as the iphone right but the interesting thing is look listen to what he said he said you're told not to bash into the walls too much but pretty soon you realize that all of these rules were made up by people know smarter than you and you can question them. You can challenge them. You can build your own things that people can use. And that's where at this stage of awakening questioning starts entering your mind but we also train this culture to not question. How many of you hear us kids when you ask questions you know how kids go. There like why why why. Why why and your parents are always going to say. Because i told you so. And so we're trained to not ask these questions at level tudo you start going back to that childhood nature of questioning you start realizing the world is bendable. You don't like the nine to five great you start your own company or you introduce flexi-time you don't like religion no problem you join mine valley and just learned from spiritual teachers life can happen to you or life can happen from you and this world at this level. Life is emerging from you. You are creating the world as you want to see it. You don't like the university system you create mine value. You don't like the way mobile phones work. You create the iphone now. That's not something as big a that. It could be the way you hack your education. It could be the way you start your business. It could be the way you told your parents that you are not going to blindly. Follow their fundamentalist religious ideas. Even though they had been part of your family for three hundred years you create your own rules and this is when this great awakening starts happening so all of us have beliefs about the world the thing about beliefs this right. Your beliefs are not you. We confuse beliefs with who we are rather your beliefs possess you all your beliefs about the world are implanted in you by society by media by parents by purchased by teachers by religion by dog my by culture and you can pluck out those beliefs. And when you start doing that you really start questioning the rules. Michael beck would said it best yesterday. He said this the world is you see. It is an artifact of a previously held point of view. Your eyes are always looking at the past everything we see in this room as we get out of this room as we go home as we survive in the world as we go to our jobs. It's looking at artifacts of the pass and at this level the level of awakening. You come to see that and so you're constantly thinking about how can create a new world. That suits how you want to live life. And so you know that thing. About how thoughts create reality at this point. It's true and it's not the mumbo jumbo version of your mind creating reality not that. That's not real. Heal your thoughts are actually creating reality because you are questioning the cognitive plane. You are questioning the rules. And the assumptions and the culture and the beliefs that we hold onto so tightly thinking they are real many of these have kit their expiration date but people still leave it. Leave it in their fridge like sour milk now. What you're doing is opening the refrigerator door looking at what rules. What believes hit that expiration date and discarding it and then creating your own stuff to put in that refrigerator. Now we come to the three questions. Who am i. What do i desire. What do i know and you find that how you answer. These questions is really really really different. Who am i. You may no longer be traditional vocation you decide that you are a philosopher mystic or. You are a try builder engineer. You're creating your own vacations. What do i desire often. You desire things that other people do not desire because their desires are coming from this rule book. The culture escape. You have your remorse important questions. You have your life book. You want to create a new life for yourself but the biggest question that really really really gets addressed. When you hit this level is what do i know. What do i know alan. Watts suggest an exercise. He calls it the to list. He says make list and please do this when you get home. Make a list of everything that you know because you experienced it and then make a list of everything that you know because someone told you it was true. It's a really interesting exercise because pretty soon you understand that so many things that you think are true are only true because someone told you they were true. Somebody told you that you need to own a car. Somebody told you that you need to send your kids to school. Somebody told you that your body is going to be prone to aging. Somebody told you that obesity was in your genetics. What is it that you know that is true because you experienced it directly. And what do you know is true because you were programmed and you had a belief installed in you that is level too ambitionless kiani. And this is the mind valley podcasts..

"Instead of instead of michael backhoe scene and throwing it over to me with me tonight is kevin tate from the no one else podcast. You may have seen him. He's been on the very first. Know your enemy of the season before the hall of fame game. He was on with michael beck. He's been on with on tales from two a m with brian. Anthony davis kevin tate. Welcome back to know your enemy. Thanks jeffrey thanks for having been i love working with you guys man and you know. You're you're playing michael tonight. But i can't let you. Because i don't know the exit knows like you. I'ma might know personnel. But seen those. That's okay because this is all about personnel. This show all about the the players always as always know your enemy. We have guests from the other team. We are planning to have bruce nolan from buffalo rumblings here to talk about the bills in the second half of our show but before we get to that we're gonna talk about the steelers and we're and as they prepare to head to buffalo for week one so kevin was here right before the hall of fame game him and michael got to talk a lot about the steelers roster players on it makes some predictions. So we're gonna go back over the roster now that we have the finish fifty three man roster heading into week wine and we'll start you off with a with with a tough question here kevin When you look at the steelers offense this year. Is there a position. You look at and say outside of quarterback outside of ben rothlisberger that you say that position really needs to be or really could be a big strength for this offense kind of drives. The team's success will. The offense goes my personal opinion. I think they're tied in group. And i think it's all three of them. Wet what e. Brian offers in the in the passing game. You know being being able to being able to can be that that pass catching tiny in in in being the rookie fryer move. He's he's like both he's leaves a passenger tidy inline tiny and and i just like gentry size. He brings his. He's gotten better over the past couple two three years and he brings me brings that big frame that six eight three to sixty to sixty five. I like that. So i think if we're talking about a particular group outside a quarterback that could they can really surprise us this year especially in offense. I would probably role with the tiny and group. That's actually that's actually my pick as well. I think i kinda high on zach gentry as that number three. I don't think he's going to be like a major impact player but like you said he's big. He showed a lot of blocking talent in the pre season. And he's not good enough hands like if you leave him alone he's gonna catch the ball and he's frigging huge we all fryer moose dead in his little bit of action with ben rothlisberger that that was that was incredible looking. It was yeah. I like that big team proving. Oh yeah yup all right. So we're both high on the tight end roof. I want to ask you. Is this the best tight end room. The pittsburgh steelers have ever had three deep. Is this the best tight end room. The pittsburgh steelers of ever had. I think i think in this day and era thing. I think we're we're all guilty of some type of reasons. He bias so i'm really thinking we are but just thinking back i mean. He's he's obviously the all time but he did he play with spaeth. Yeah he space in. I don't even remember. The third guy wasn't room. Yeah he he played for. Think with jeremy tumen as well jeremy arcane and it wasn't like he played with mark bruener right right right well. That was way back. Yeah so i i. You know what. I'd say. So i mean just just just from what what each those guys brings to the table. I mean if. Brian cannot drop balls. You know i mean really. And he obviously blocking better. I read something about it the pharmacist. Pf gray was really good. This preseason fars is blocking which which which is much better than it's been in the other times career foreign blocking goes if we can get some semblance of the whether the twenty twenty eighteen twenty nineteen ron in andy. What we hear like twelve thirteen touchdowns anymore. He won't get that much production but if he's just that type of threat him wit wit fryer move and then if we ever need to bring in january. Yeah think this tightened group is probably the best. I can recall. I mean i go back as far as remember. Benny cunningham and eric green. I remember all those guys bowel remember. Who played with them to say. Oh that room was better than this one this. This is a talented room. Yeah they might not have. This might not have the best number one tight end. Because he's miller's obviously better narrow green out of either. These guys are better than eric green yet. We haven't seen that yet right there. Their second tied at number two. Count either lebron's Is probably the best number to tie down. The steelers of ever fielded receiving threat absolutely agree as a collective it is. That's exciting to me because in two thousand eighteen we saw vance mcdonald and jesse james I believe they set the receiver like the receiving record for tight ends as for the team as a group for your okay. Yeah for those two. Just like jesse james advance mcdonald like that's that's not. That's not easy right right right right. Yeah i mean this. Is those those guys. Those guys were were were good to average. These guys have the potential to be.

"Salary cap. Updates breaks it down into every single way when you're talking with someone and they say oh well the steelers have this much money you. You're smart enough and intelligent enough to say well. Technically they don't because of deferments and the rule of fifty one and all that stuff that goes into it. I guess what i'm trying to say is that i hope that you are learning something. I'm not perfect. I don't know everything there is to know. I will defer to jeffrey benedict and kevin smith and even scofield. And even the michael beck when it comes to xs knows about the game of football. That's just not my forte. I don't even know what my forte is. Come to think of it. I guess it's just being allowed now. That has a show every monday wednesday and friday but nonetheless. You're never never too late to learn a little bit about football. And i hope that we have behind the curtain are helping in some way shape or form. All right folks. That does it for me. I hope you enjoy the game tonight. I will be back with dave and brian to talk about the game afterwards. The post game press conference not post game press conference but the post game podcast and make sure you check us out there behind the curtain dot com should be your one-stop shop for all things steelers and as we always say to finish it out here be safe. Be kind in god. Bless have a great weekend. I'll be back on monday. Doing some predictions all right folks have a good one burner..

"Play to make as a center. Where you snap the ball. And you've gotta get your hands up and you gotta get underneath your opponent. Stand him up when you have someone like brandon williams or claes campbell from baltimore. That's right over top of you. That's a tough play to make. And so i feel like there's going to be more issues in pass blocking than there were last season. But let's also not forget. That last season was when ben rothlisberger was swinging the ball. Two point two seconds and part of me now in hindsight looks and says maybe dow was based on the fact that the steelers could not protect him for a four five. Six seven six step dropback. They couldn't do it. It makes me feel like last. Season's offensive line. The passing numbers they in terms of sacks allowed was nothing but a mirage. It was nothing but smoke and mirrors. And so we'll see. I wish cy hip hop that. I had some type of more tangible answer for you. But i don't think anyone knows i do think they're going to be better in rushing and i do think they might struggle in pass blocking but i do think there'll be okay. I really really do okay last question here in the mail bag. Rob davis asked. Do you think the cornerbacks are good enough to compete. Well one side is fine. And now it'd be none other than joe haden. Joe haden in my opinion is still a really really good cornerback. Now is he what he was ten years ago. Now is he what he was. Five years ago. Joe haden himself joe haden himself said he thinks he's every bit as fast as he was five years ago and now he has. That veteran mind that veteran presence. I'm not worried about joe haden. i'm. I'm worried about him staying healthy. But i'm not worried about joe haden who's opposite of joe haden. I mean james. Peer is he the guy or is cam sutton the guy or are the steelers going to be running this gambit of rotating defensive backs what is going to look like this the one position in my opinion other than say the battle which i don't even think that's a competition anymore but still it's a one position where i don't think anyone knows we know the projected offensive line now. We don't know how they're going to do. But we know who they are. We are the wide receivers the quarterbacks we know the safeties even linebackers defensive front cornerback. No clue no clue especially with our antoni. Hindle internal antwon brooks getting released waived injured. No clue not one. So it's going to be interesting. It's going to be interesting. I do think that if they can find a either a player whether that is james pierre air or whether that someone else i do feel like if they can find that player that can go opposite joe haden in even even if they have to have some situation changes. I think they'll be okay. That defense is good enough. They're going to get pressure on the quarterback. But that's going to be tough question. Mark that i have on this team really is From a personnel standpoint is cornerback. All right so. I know there's a lot of stuff to cover. I know i had to do the breaking news at the beginning. Talking about the five players released in idaho. I'll be back on friday. And i will be talking more about this panther's game. Hopefully we as fans will know something about who's playing who's not. I'll do my segment with mr captain. Blue checkmark mr michael beck will be joining me and You know we'll be getting you ready for the weekend. So in in the meantime have a happy hump day. "The charge. So you're going to read the charge as if you are the judge. That's part three part four. You're going to feel the anger and pain zoo. Cops said something interesting. He said you don't push away emotions. You fully feel it that you feel the emotion from the point of view as an observer so in my case like i really no longer feel anger for my principle but i feel the emotion i felt when i did right and if it's something that i haven't forgiven yet i let the emotion bubble up and at this point you can hit your pillow. You can yell. You can scream. Just let the emotion come do not push away. The emotion let the emotion come. Don't text personal. What separate personnel scream at them but let the emotion come for two minutes and then you stop now. How do you know two minutes while you can set a timer. What they teach you in this training facilities if you feel the emotion for two minutes no more than two minutes and then you stop and when you stop. This is what you do necks. You think of what you learn from the event. What did i learn from standing on the basketball. I learned that. I was much tougher than what i thought i was. What did you learn from that person who cheated on you. What did you learn from that man or woman who abused you. What did you learn from that friend. Who violated your trust. Odds are you learn something. Michael beck would set. We grow true satori moments or insight. We go through. Ken show or pain. Ken show is growth. True pain odds. Are you experience pain. You grew somehow. So what did you learn from that event and then we come to number six and this is the hard part. Think about how the other person may have been hurt in the past. This is where you see it from the is you remember the phrase people hurt people. What happened. I think about my principal. I knew that he was a weightlifter in his past life. I knew that He came from a developing country where the culture was really really really strict. I knew he was a military man. I wonder did. He have an abusive father. Was he put through a lot of strain in the military as a weightlifter. Was he punished by his coach. I think about how he must have been hurt so bad that he believed that hurting other people was the way to set someone straight. Maybe that was his upbringing his culture. And so you see it from the other person is and you think about. How could they have been hurt. It helps if you suddenly reduced them to a child and you wonder what the day experience in the childhood and then you come to part seven. See the situation from the are is. How would they see you. This gets a little bit harder. I wonder how did it. My principal see me. Did he see me as a kid who deliberately chose to forget my p. e. shorts because i did respect him. That have an issue with respect. How did they see you. And this is the really tricky one. Because the forces you to develop a really powerful sense of empathy and now you forgive into love and forgiving into love means you make a commitment to forgive them and the test is if you can see yourself hugging them. You're good and that is really.

"They don't have faith in alex smith. I did see a comment somewhere. It was on twitter. And i almost commented. I don't say much on twitter. Like i have a facebook account owner so i can be the. Bts's tough. i don't do anything facebook but sometimes you see. I wanted to comment on it and i didn't put it was. It was going to say this is the winner. This is the comment that just one for the day. And it was about belva ming ingram and they said and they and after someone said about all they're going have been highsmith he said no i it's it's not about highsmith there's you know there's a the the steelers feel that tj wada's properly conditioned coming into this so if you didn't get the reference that goes back to the the whole tray turner signing but that's that's pretty funny so that's kind of the stuff with ingram adamant we'll too much too. But i don't think he starts. I mean it could take split them three ways now. That's what you want. Well you've got nothing about this. I'm back here. You got what. I smith in england an inside linebacker. You've got bush splaine and williams. Yeah exactly don't you do a heck of a lot better about that linebacking unit. When you've got those six guys lined up to go out there absolutely absolutely absolutely. Michael michael beck wrote this article today about this whole thing with with with ingram ingram had to know that was the deal coming in. We're like he's gonna. You might not get the little. If you go to pro football reference. Did you get the little astro next to you. Which means you started at the game. You might not get the first nap of the game. But you're going to get this number snaps. And i think that's better for ingram because he's he's thirty two. He's done with some injuries if he's not having to be out there all the time that's fantastic. It's i mean he's going to get enough playing time but i don't think he's gonna be forced into too much playing time. And that's exactly what you want and then if there is something let's say something happens in the development of one alex smith. I don't expect it. I really don't. Let's say some something there that then you have to. Then you actually have another option there. It's fantastic this whole situation and we'll talk about that a little bit more first. Let's get some super chats. Okay heard before. I wanna finish went off okay. Dietrich delaney on facebook said something that that actually thought about today when this in some of this conversation with ingram you think there could be times where we see ingram highsmith wa all on the field. Yeah what are we talking about. That was that inver tax was that in that was somewhere with my crew that this is a discussion that we were having what it might have been in the comments of. What are the articles. I can't remember but yeah. I think there were times last year where you had watched duprey and high smithfield so be times where we see the same thing with with ingram. High smith watt all three on the field. Absolutely so here. We go all right. Projets mike smith five dollars into the tip jar. We thank you very much mike..

"Goodness we have so much news going on today. It's insane if you didn't hear by the way this is just kind of coming out. The i believe. I can't believe it. Kendrick green is siamese contract. Holy cow there. We go right here on. let's ride. Let's ride podcast kind of breaking news. this is from jason bernstein congrats to the fridge. Fifty-three that would be a kendrick rains. Twitter handle on signing his contract with the steelers so kudos to kendrick green. The kudos the steelers forgetting all nine of their draft picks locked up all my gosh. I can't believe it. it's it's finally done. Everyone's been asking me on this for weeks. What the heck's taking so long what the heck taking so long here it is here. It is finally done so good news. Congratulations to Kendrick green for sure on that that was And i've been waiting for that to happen. I talked about a lot about the pre rate that we had done all right so like i said he told me on twitter at j hartman underscore p. I t. every tuesday. I was a little bit late today. Getting this tweet out. Based on the fact that i was taking wallpaper off the wall in the house. Which by the way whoever invented wallpaper. I'd like to have a conversation with you. I'm sure they're not alive anymore but still that is kind of like cruel and unusual punishment. I've done it before. It's not my first time. But my gosh awful absolutely awful. If you're someone out there. I i just bought a house and i need to. I need to take the wallpaper off steak week. Take week in egypt chip away a little bit of the time anyways. So i've kind of forgot about it. I put the the tweet up. Wait but my writer. Diker obviously never let me down. And some people. Like for instance the first question from michael beck. He's mr blue checkmark. Michael beck because look at me. That's a this is michael. This is why i envisioned michael on twitter is because now he has a blue check and he's verified and he thinks he's so important he says jack and with michael valet. He's who's the most annoying number on the bts's slack channel and you're not allowed to save me so well michael that's it. Those are just now listening. Like what is the slack channel. It is a way for an organization to communicate. And you can have an app on your phone. You can also have it on your laptop or desktop. It's a great way for someone like me. Who runs a website and has that might say in the podcast as well. We have channels and we can definitely go in. And it's one of those situations where they have A we all chime in and sometimes it's just for fun. I had to be honest though. I'm gonna say brian. Anthony davis is. I can't say michael back. I'm gonna go with brian. Ent davis is the most annoying member on the slack channel the good brian. Will he so sporadic okay. So hill chime in with news that is. I don't know two hours old and we've already published the story. Had it on facebook. Page user clanking in brian to send the link. Hey guys did you see again. And we have this article sometimes. Activating brian's also a little bit late on a lot of things. Still i if i depict that to all day every i like all the people on our staff short. Eric says the league didn't do much in regards to the whole brady. Mc l. injury not being reported yet. The steelers got reprimanded quite a bit for not disclosing. There's favortism at its finest extenuating circumstances so When you look at this the league didn't do much regret he's talking about the brady he Now it's coming out that he tore his mc l. Have surgery in. The offseason was pretty legitimate knee injury. And he's asking what the heck because the steelers with ben roethlisberger doesn't nineteen his elbow and they sit. There was never reported. They were david. Castro's injury that was another big story. Which oh my gosh. This ankle injury was lingering. And now you've got cut because of its What is the deal there in. So i can see where eric is thinking. Well what's going on here. Where where are these two sides coming from. And i honestly don't know that much about the buccaneers story. I don't know if he was ever on the injury report. That's what they need. That's what they're looking for when pittsburgh got reprimanded because of lady on del. This was his groin injury. I think it was two thousand sixteen when they got reprimanded were fine. They might have gotten to that. It's because they never reported the injury so in this case if they did report the brady had a knee injury and even if you just missed portions of practice than absolutely. They're fine they're fine. That's what it all comes down to. It comes down to the team saying okay. So let's go back to jim. Sixteen news that okay. Hey lady on coin injury. We don't think it's gonna hurt him too much in terms of participation helped he should be good to go then. They're fine than they talked about. They put it on an injury report. That's the big thing kit. Ask confident in our tackle depth after chaz green signing reports of dan more being slow to learned many camp not as surely developmental only this year. Are we comfortable with only. Hey backup. Chaz his nfl experience but injuries saxon pressures allowed or not good. This is this is tough meeting answer for multiple reasons. Hey does have a lot of experience and chas. his numbers. Don't look great on paper at the same time. These are different systems. You have a new coordinator new offensive line coach. I'm going to hold judgment on any offensive line whether that's kendrick greenwood. That's pj finney. Joe hague you name. It doesn't matter..

That's why love you hashtag bad company. You are the best in all. These comments are great. And i'm not even doing it for the comments. I'm just doing it because i'm sharing this special day. This is the day every year. I make my kids listening to jim. Valvano speech from the sp's in nineteen ninety-three in if you never had a chance to download that i know each and every one of you has had somebody close to you that you love. That has had cancer in their life. I'm one of the lucky ones. I have so many people that aren't there. Some people are fighting right now and fighting hard. So i wanna say to. My buddy pat. My friend jen. Keep fighting keep fighting so anyways let's go forward been talking a lot about pretenders all right and this is this is come out this week and i'm just gonna late on the line because i'm kind of tired of you know i'm tired of my gosh. Every time i go to twitter. We're fighting the battle. And it's not that i'm tired of it. It's just like look. this is simple. This is just talk. we've got a well-known. I'm not going to mention his name because this is what he lops. He used to be professional wrestling announcer. He loves this. He loves the stirred up. And he's you know what he's good at it and he's good at his job and he takes a lot of heat. He takes a lot of heat because that's what he wants. His people conham the nastiest things. But my gosh. She's a pittsburgh broadcasting legend. The problem is he tells everybody about it and looks down on everybody else and he went after tony feel and he went after michael beck and turn he was able to really go after kinda started with tony. A lot of people don't know that just like little going back and forth on twitter. But then he was able to dig into michael beck looking to see was from. Canada started calling the pretend media and then went after everybody else. And when i say everybody else he went after all the blog sites when after all the people that aren't in terrestrial radio not the the people that aren't in traditional radio anyone after him and you know what i'm not afraid to say it we're competitors with steelersdepot where competitors with other blog sites. You know that's fine but everybody else might competitors those guys at depot. I don't want you to listen to their podcasts. But pretty damn good.

"The nfc west in our hypothetical breakdown. I still had i if i'm looking at the division right now. I even put the steelers as high as number two. I think the browns win the division. This year i think the steelers best them in the playoffs. And that's something i said. Last year i thought the ravens would win the division but the steelers would best them in the playoffs. So and brian brown wire steelers fans picking rival teams to win our division eight. You know for me. You've you've just gotta think. And i'm not saying you're not nothing all i'm saying is you gotta think on how you think this whole thing is going to shake out if you man if you put on your black and gold goggles and you look at the schedule and you say this is a seventeen team. No you know. It's just not is just not going to happen so we're going to see what's going to happen. I think the steelers in the playoffs could be dangerous this year. And i really think that they're going to put this whole thing together. I like how clearances steelers have a chip on their shoulder. I like how dole with it says no way bad. You know. I mean man but this is kind of an exercise when you want to see who is going to be the best team excuse me the best division in football. I still from the beginning. I thought it was the afc north. That's why we put these teams together. We can make some around again. And i think that we're going to still have the afc north. Come up we can put the seahawks against the steelers and the browns against the rams and the ravens against the forty niners. We could do that and we're still going to come up and it's gonna come up. Afc north. i think it is the best team in the division. So apparently i have one down and i don't care i'm cool with that i. It's probably from mrs bad. Misses bad. probably came in and put one thumb down on me. So that's i three people in my immediate family here. They're probably the three thumbs down that i get. I mean that this means an astrid the thumbs up bad because we're done other everyday so well we're running out of time we were going to have. We were going to have matt go in his bathroom and flush so we can see go the opposite way but we. We don't have time for that. So hey look. It is ok guys to be a homer. We have no problem. If you listen to michael beck this morning. It's okay to be positive about the steelers. And i'm very positive about the steelers but for me. I think this is gonna be a great season and let's put on. I want to rank the steelers. Lo i love when the pundits put the steelers far down and say you know. They're going to not make the playoffs because to me. That means that it's going to be a really good season. And it's going to be a great season and i'm glad we're gonna have it. You know if we go ahead and rank tuesday night shows. I'm still rank in the sco boroughs. I miss those guys. they're fantastic. I hope we did you guys proud. Thanks for giving us your spots tonight. We appreciate it for one time. Only it's the day bro.
