"U.S. district judge James Selma in Southern California says it's time for Michael avenatti to pay his debts to his victims, the IRS and society. Avenatti has been sentenced to another 14 years behind bars for negotiating settlements for clients, but keeping the money to support his own lavish lifestyle. Avenatti is currently serving a 5 year sentence for stealing from client stormy Daniels after her legal battles against Donald Trump. All right, so that's him. Good old Michael avenatti, who, I don't know, what was it 15 months ago, maybe? Maybe a little more. He was all over CNN all over MSNBC, and they were saying, this guy is going to be the Democrat nominee in 2024. You wait and see. Yeah, good old Michael avenatti. So he's already in jail for stealing $5 million. I think it was what he got in trouble for. And now he's been ordered to pay $11 million in restitution for embezzling millions of dollars from four of his other clients, so it's not just stormy Daniels that got ripped off. Unbelievable. She got used and abused by this guy. And it's a shame, but that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes, but it's interesting to see how this went. And I guess like the saying goes, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy, right? Anyway, we will continue mister avenatti, who will keep you up to speed on this. Let's go to pat in Sedona, Arizona. Hey pat, what's on your mind, brother? Hey, rich, how you doing? I'd love your thinking about the media and how they handle certain stories, like some like the guy with. I mean, keep doing what talks about that guy. And what he did at such a such a big crime. And when we're talking about all of the other people, I mean, if you Donald Trump, you got to target on your back. But you know why? I think old Donald's probably is pretty tough guy and I think he's used to this by now. I mean, there's every time they come out and these stories usually turn out to be false two, three months later, he just goes on because there's going to be another one. And then I went after that. I think the media should be they should have licenses. And I think these people should lose their license for lying to the American public. I mean, they're lying in it. And the American public know it now. And I think a lot of people are not cheap anymore. They're learning and they're getting surprised when they find out my goodness. I mean, that the laptop was real. I mean, come on. I mean, I stopped watching the national news two years ago. I just said enough enough. It drove me nuts. And I didn't want to have the anger of it. As you probably know, I've told you this, I'm a Walter Cronkite. I was a kid when he was on national news. And I like watching him. And I love believing him. And he was such an incredible newscaster. And his value in telling the truth, even though it may Americans, he did it in a way that was really good. And I think we need that again. And at this, I don't know the colleges are teaching media today. There is something going on there that they may need to check and go light on because I'll tell you what, they're not doing it. I mean, these young people, they don't care if it's a lie. And they know what's aligned. It doesn't bother them. They can drive really good. And here's the thing. Let me just back up a little bit because you're making a lot of good points and I want to make sure we don't lose any of them. The first thing is that was that they should have licenses. Now, in terms of like broadcast ability, radio stations, television stations, they do have licenses, broadcasting licenses from the FCC. However, what you're referring to, I believe, is an actual license to like practice like a lawyer or a doctor would have a license. And if they make a mistake, then they could be charged with malpractice. And in a perfect world, that would be a good thing, but we're not in a perfect world. We're in a world now where, for example, Rudy Giuliani has been on this program. Rudy Giuliani is not even allowed to practice law in New York. Now some people will hear that statement and say good because he's a crazy liar and he was peddling misinformation. Others would say, wow, what a tangled web, we've, all right? Because Democrats that disagreed with his position on his court case and whatnot, which he won and also won in federal court, they disagreed with that, and they said that you're guilty of this statin whatever. Without any trial, just because they had the power to disbar or suspend his ability to practice, and that's what they did. So his ability to practice in New York and in D.C. has been halted. And this is one of the ways he made his living. So to me, incredibly unfortunate, and I could see the same exact thing happening if tomorrow I said, well, I'm going to for you or me or anybody else. That says they want to become a journalist. And now they need a license. And if you lie, they'll take it away. What they'll say is you don't qualify for the license. You can't get one. Why? Because you don't meet the criteria. We don't like you. And that's where it'll end. So the minute that they're able to actually credential members of the media, then they will literally handpick the members of the media. Right now, what they've been doing is they have co opted how people learn. So you've got teachers, colleges, where they train teachers, that's been completely co opted. Journalism schools or J schools as they're known, that's also been completely co opted. I'd say you're going to be hard pressed to find one, two, three, gun to your head, name three schools that conservative journalism schools. You're probably going to drop dead on that one. Because it's not going to happen. And it's because there's been a push towards what they call advocacy journalism or activist journalism. Where they feel that it's not about the truth and it's not about reporting and deciding it's about trying to right wrong. It's kind of like that term social justice that was concocted, you know, 30, 40 years ago. Same thing. It's a movement towards trying to fix things by whatever means you have available to you. So the purpose is no longer to be the watchdog of the government, the purpose is no longer to report so that people can make their own decisions. The purpose is to promote an agenda. And it comes as no surprise to me, although it's saddening. That there's so many teachers that adhere and embrace Marxist ideals and they're the ones that are in the classrooms with our children. It sucks. It sucks, but that's exactly where we are. Now, that was the media part. What else did you want to talk about? Things are happening out there. I mean, there are things are breaking up and people are seeing things. I mean, is it the Biden laptop has been put out there and people do believe it does exist. They almost bite their tongue when they have to say it. But. It takes time and I guess what we need rich is patients. And it's going to be a lot of patients and 24 can't happen. 2024 can't happen quicker for me

Avenatti sentenced to 14 years in California fraud case

"Disgraced attorney Michael avenatti has been sentenced to another 14 years behind bars. In a California fraud case and ordered to pay millions in restitution. The imprisoned lawyer who became famous representing stormy Daniels against Donald Trump and then stealing from her has pleaded guilty to four new counts of wire fraud and tax related charges. He's accused of negotiating big settlements behind his client's backs. And then using the money for himself, including the purchase of a private jet and opening a sideline coffee business. Avenatti apologized to the clients he built, including a man left paraplegic who'd been awarded a $4 million settlement from Los Angeles County, avenatti asked the court to consider the good he had done as a lawyer, but the judge said he had also done great evil. In addition to jail time, there's a $10 million restitution order. I'm Jackie Quinn

'The Devil's Triangle' Author Mark Judge Talks Threats of Extortion

"This is tough stuff. I mean, the idea, you know, lying, we know is wrong. Sexual assault. We know is wrong. Accusing someone of sexual assault, wow, that's huge. You destroy lives that way. So you Eric, excuse me for interrupting, but extortion is wrong. People were trying to extort me and Leland Kaiser. I was getting phone calls from a number in California, and I think we all know who it was. Trying to extort me and Leland Kaiser's friends from high school were saying, she's a stumbling block. Somebody has to give her a talking to and we better do something and we better threaten her because she's had an addiction issue in her past to back blasey Ford or else. So I didn't mean to interrupt her, but that's exciting. Well, first of all, interrupt. I'm the only one that's, as my audience knows, I'm the one doing all the interrupting. It's hard for me to shut up because I want to be clear, but you're not interrupting. This is, I want to hear you. But let me ask you when you say you think we all know who it was in California who's trying to extort Leland Kaiser or you. What do you mean? I don't know who we're talking about. Remember avenatti? Michael avenatti. The creepy. Now I can't prove that. All I know is I got a call on my birthday September 24th, very threatening saying you like to F with people. I like to F with people too. You better call me back. I told the FBI. The FBI has the part of the reason I'm going to interrupt forever is because I forgot, you know, I read your book. I read every word of it, but I'm forgetting stuff, but obviously now I'm being reminded. So you believe it was Michael avenatti. Anybody familiar if they read your book, and again, the book is called the devil's triangle. But if they read your book, or they know the story, they understand how involved he was and the players that were involved. But what you're telling me, Mark, what are you telling my audience is that you are basically threatened that you better play ball or we're coming after you. This

That very same chant we just heard here in just a few minutes ago. Now the clock is ticking, a little less than 20 minutes left to play is the United States looks to battle back in this knockout stage, round of 16 game. It's a very tough Netherlands team. It's been a roller coaster of emotions for fans here that enthusiasm, dejection, disappointment. There was a sense of optimism heading into the second half of the team will get on the scoreboard, but so far and still down by two goals. Now, despite the score of fans, I still getting loud here showing them the support for their team or plenty of fight songs and a chance here. Just that team hoping that hope for a miracle here to get on the board. Now McQueen's own pole 'cause a popular spot for soccer fans year round. Calling Out Media Hypocrisy With Ari Fleischer

"All right, I'm going to play a piece of tape here. I want you to tell me how you think the media would react if Melania Trump did the following play cut 25. Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community as distinct as the bogus of The Bronx as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio. As unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio, pander much, Ari, how would the media react to such a thing? Race this xenophobic stereotypical bigotry. Has she never been asked this again, the hypocrisy of the media in so many different things. You know, Charlie, one of the other things in my book I discovered that if it's along the same line of how when Republicans do it, they get hammered Democrats do what they get a pass. Here's CNN's judgment for you. CNN booked Michael avenatti twice as much over the same period of time as they did the entire Trump administration to talk about COVID. The secretary of Health and Human Services, the surge in general, Doctor Fauci, doctor bricks. Everyone in the Trump administration combined. They booked Michael avenatti almost twice as much to talk about stormy Daniels. If that doesn't tell you how the mainstream media and especially CNN's values were warped how the coverage decisions were flawed, you know, if it was anti Trump, it got a bump. And that's what we saw at the four years of Trump

"Attorney Michael avenatti has been found guilty of what? Stealing $300,000 from his own client stormy Daniels. And now avenatti has had it not to The White House, but to the big House. It remains an open question, what his sentence is going to be. But just to refresh, I've talked about this case before. Avenatti was accused and he's now found guilty of doing what? Well. When stormy Daniels signed up to write a book, she was apparently offered an advance of $800,000, but payable in three installments. So she got the first installment, but then avenatti when the second and third installment were due, avenatti set up his own account. And he essentially masqueraded as stormy Daniels. And he got the money sent not to stormy Daniels, but to his account, so he intercepted her money and took it for himself and used it on his own luxuries and to buy this and to buy that and to settle this debt and so on. And so stormy Dan is like, where's the money? And avenatti kept sort of putting her off and lying to her and in any case so she finally reported him. And so it turns out that he was found guilty, not just a theft, but also of wire fraud and of impersonating another person. So this is bad because when you add all this up, we're looking at, well, the aggravated identity theft charge. That carries a mandatory two years. So we know we're not going to be seeing avenatti for the next two years unless he's going to be doing CNN interviews with Brian stelter from prison. Reinstalled. What happened? What happened to you? I thought you were such a promising prospect. And then of course there was Anna Navarro who compared avenatti to the Holy Spirit. So the Holy Spirit is apparently now going to be eating prison food. But the wire fraud charge is carries a maximum penalty of 20 years now. Do I think avenatti will get 20 or is no, but he's gonna get some years. And those will be on top of the two years, so this is a guy we may not be seeing for a while. And of course he has avenatti the jury. I was her advocate. I was her champion. I put everything on the line. But this is the standard recipe of it. I was doing her a favor. You know, robbing her was really in her own best interest. And U.S. assistant attorney assistant U.S. attorney Robert sobelman quote the defendant was a lawyer who stole from his own client. She thought he was her advocate, but he betrayed her and he told lies to try to cover it up. The defendant's lies in betrayal were all exposed. I can say, well, I don't feel shot in Freud or just sort of delight in avenatti's misery, but this is a vicious dude who thought he was unstoppable who was apparently Trump's gonna end up in jail. I'm gonna make sure the trumps and from ends up in jail and of course Trump it's not Trump was put avenatti in jail. The guy who's responsible for avenatti being heading to prison is none other than.

"WT lawyer Michael avenatti was convicted today by a New York jury on charges that he cheated his former client porn actor stormy Daniels out of nearly $300,000 and Daniels was supposed to get that money for writing a book about an alleged fear with former president Donald Trump before he was in office of a naughty still faces other legal problems He has yet to begin a two and a half year prison sentence he received in 2020 for trying to extort up to $25 million from Nike Stay with us We'll have more on this as we go through the afternoon on three 11 The January jobs report is out and it shows the economy added 467,000 jobs despite the recent wave of COVID cases because of all Macron the unemployment rate did tick up a bit 3.9% last month It's now at 4% It also showed that revised job gains for November and December were way better than had been estimated Adjoining us now to unpack these latest numbers is bankrate senior economic analyst Mark Hamrick only yesterday we were talking about how there were all these predictions that this would be a pretty dismal reporter Are you surprised by what came out today Well of course otherwise I would have been lying right That wouldn't be a good look So you know it's a little like we're warming up to the Super Bowl and you know how commentators very often say you know it's going to be a great game and maybe 50% of the time it ends up being a dud Well they got to play the game We got to get this report out And so that's why the report is important And so the difference between a 29 and 8 31 this morning is like the difference between having a defibrillator because coming into the report there was a thought that we could have a decline in payrolls and we had as you said more than 400,000 jobs added in the month and then upward revisions of the previous two months of 700,000 So between those two minutes we had a difference of about 1.2 million jobs that we didn't know we had before So that's a big difference Any reason why we have so many new jobs Employers of prioritized hiring and rotating workers and it appears they're having some success And I think that over time with the known facts that we're having high levels of people who are quitting their jobs and finding new work that we're having rising wages and that we have a near record number of job openings those are all sort of green lights to workers who are inclined to work or search for work to do just that And the other part is that the tailwinds that it propelled the economy forward that include a lot of fiscal stimulus from Congress and the presidents over two terms and eventually we're going to say higher retro rates those tailwinds are going away And so people are going to have to work And they're not necessarily going to have the backstops that the government had provided previously Really quickly here you talk about rising wages but are they keeping up with inflation What does this report tell us No they aren't but they are making some progress And we'll get an update on the consumer price index next week The last read on that was a year over year gain of 7% And this report we were up a little more than 1% shy of that So it's called a wage gap as we like to say and that's a source of tension for consumers There's not much good to be said about burgeoning inflation that has been sustained as it has All right Mark thanks enjoy the weekend You too thank you Bank rate senior economic analyst Mark.

Not so that white readers could read it and say, Wow, that's horrible, but so that other people could read it and say, I relate to that now, the news Live from NPR News in Culver City, California I'm Duane Brown. In a virtual meeting today, President Biden told some skeptical G seven leaders The United States remains on track to finish its withdrawal from Afghanistan one week from today. The August 31st deadline comes in the face of the Taliban takeover of the war torn country. President Biden says the U. S military objective is complete. We want to Afghanistan. With our allies in 2000 and one for clear reasons. One to get the people who attacked us on 9 11 and to get Osama bin Laden. And to make sure that Afghanistan was not used again as a base from which to attack the United States or our allies. We achieved that objective. Some G seven leaders expressed disappointment They could not persuade President Biden to extend the U. S operations at the Kabul airport so more Europeans and Afghan partners can safely exit the country. In South Carolina. The L. She then laid out a program for making schools safer during the pandemic when kids go back to class in mid September. We need to require vaccinations for all school personnel with an option to test out weekly, at least for now. I'm also immediately directing the Department of Health to Institute Universal masking for anyone entering our schools. You know because there is this waiting game because you see what kristi nome to where it's like this thing of well if trump doesn't end up being the nominee. I wanna be trumpy fuck. So when that moment arrives there will be no like maga- world will know where i'm at. That's why she's sending seventy five more national guard. I mean let's be real seventy five more mercenaries that are being paid by tennessee. Billionaire down to the border so she because she's clearly trying to raise her maga- credits by doing some stuff all this performance of nonsense and same with the santa. So it's just it's a satish shit in haiti. Remember michael avenue nadi of course duties box. He's a feinerman live feeling is from a different world. I different reality different lifetime. Yeah i mean talk about another guy who has had people being like you do. Talk that shit we what you suck Anyways he's facing two and a half years for some some men at manner of ski murray trying to extort nike. Yeah that's right for twenty five million. We've all been there at what the what was trying to do. What was that. What was the i vaguely. Remember the details around this but is basically extort nike is such a wild wild plan of attack it was that they say i guess he was. They said he hijacked his clients claims any used and use them to further his own agenda which was to extort nike of millions of dollars for himself. so he like he had clients. I guess that were in some sort of litigation and yeah someone apparently Was retained him to get like reforms to happen at nike and then I guess you know. Because i think this is when he was saying that nike was paying like amateurs and their families like giving them no money. You know what i mean to be like. Hey come to the swoosh. Will you know when you're when you're up out of there. But then he used that claim in twenty nineteen to like demand a settlement with franklin his client but also like a bigger lucrative consulting agreement from nike for him. So yeah yeah. I mean what what are you gonna do. Apparently he was crying during his sentencing. Yeah sentenced to two and a half years in prison so yeah. Won't somebody think of nike. Please want somebody think of the people who are like. Oh man. I need ten million dollars. That's how i'm gonna get there. Are it's euro cup date time. Big big news. England is through to the final matches. Harry every kane messy there it is instead it all. Yeah they had a real real tight match with denmark. Some we'll say a bit of a dubious penalty gang will come out to say. I think raheem sterling did a bit of diving for the penalty. that eventually led to The english winner in the match. English winner the harry kane mate. Massive massive bra ov. He's massive yeah. He came through. He had the like he kicked the penalty. Casper's michael saved it but then it dribbled out like right back to hurricane and he's buried in the corner. You know so. English fans are very excited. I'm excited mostly. Because one of the arsenal players bouquet osaka made history by being the youngest english national team player to feature in a match of the but the stakes being that high semi final Even outdoing wayne rooney so yeah good to see our young man. Striving for this is the first time england's been to the final since like what the sixties the last time they were in a final is when they won the world cup in nineteen sixty six so this is the first time they have been. It's always been like you know quarterfinal semifinal heartache heartbreak and now they're there and you know what the english media typically they just. They'll start turner's like these guys sunk math fuck tournament and say l. Before he was started but the things have changed a bit. And they're they're a little more supportive so it's nice to see everyone having a little bit of optimism. Guess and they have a new coach. This time around is that right. And he's a little bit our fun garrett southgate your home yeah keeping a keeping one eye on it. I got to got to watch a game. One finally on record okay and Yeah chris paul is the man i mean not much more to say de'andre eaten is a fucking is bad ass man. He's he's incredible. Yeah some i i. Also i'm tired of people like fans trying to use this as a chance to talk shit about. Lebron is there was like a a mean going around that was like lebron traded. His young core chris. Paul took his young core to the finals. First of all the brom won that title last year. I don't know if you all remember that. Also the chris. Paul's young core is de'andre and devon booker. Were like going to be light years ahead. Maybe yeah slightly. Better than the the young core lebron treadway anyways you know. They want to kick a man when they're down. You know i get. I think it's some people just have a lot of it's weird. How much like lebron hate. I think got even bigger when he came to the lakers too. So look oh yeah yes. It is. What it is like era joining the yankees. It's like wow. I already wanted to hate that guy. And now he's writing the evil empire. Yeah the team with no cam. Yeah what what is a. What's the latest with the lakers. Y'all trying to trade kuzma. Is that what that what i'm hearing with your like. We're always trying to trade. Who's honestly like i. Yeah sure You know we'll see i. I'm i'm really everything i like especially when you know. There's the time comes for trays. And things like that. So man you can just ride the weirdest waves of excitement or like cynicism because of rumors and shit and i just try and be like just hit me up. When the shit's done please right. I don't have the heart rate to go through this. Like up and down thing on like we're gonna sign carmelo like okay. I mean sure. When you're in town. I love i love to see it. And of course there are people like me thirsting for dame time But you know it. That's why it's like too much fantasy too much Me being you're my own fantasy world in terms of being a laker fan. So i just. I'll let reality play out and do its thing. One of those people who follows the off season moves more than the actual games. That's why i. I've never understood that like the now is learn all the fucking salary cap. Oh yeah. I have friends like that. Who are like not happened because the what was was left on his deal bulb on the extension. I'm like i don't know. Can't he come now or no. Just say that. I remember what tim play basketball can.

I believe you even hopped on a train. Recently i recently went down to san diego on something called the pacific surf liner and it is. It was so fun so comfortable. By far i will not be traveling any other way. Up and down california going forward and the people who work on it or so friendly The kids loved it. We could walk around with a look out the window. It's there's so much to do and also no middle seats which means you can stretch out and enjoy the right. Yeah enough to feel cramped or sitting next to people. You don't really wanna be next to you know just kind of keep your own vibe in the train amtrak even as private room so you can have your own space to yourself and you can sleep in peace without having somebody watching over you looking at you or you know how people get their their head nodding in the suddenly your shoulder a pillow for someone. You don't even know right so get ready to travel safely and comfortably on your next getaway. Everything you're missing is just an amtrak away book now at amtrak dot com and miles me. Jack are you ready Are you ready for the slam dunk of the summer. I'm not talking about myself. Which i can barely get net at this point. I am talking about spaceship. Oh i know. On july sixteenth the iconic looney tunes are back like you've never seen them before in space jam anew legacy and they're teaming up with lebron james and other stars from the nba and wnba in an epic adventure that will take you beyond your world and into a whole new dimension man. This movie has everything heart. Comedy action huge stars and of course the beloved looney tunes who. I'm talking bug good. You got daffy you got lola bun yes yes miles. I know tweedy tez. Speedy gonzales yosemite. Sam road runner wiley coyote. All the beloved tunes and more are teaming up with basketball's finest of course lebron also got dame who damian lillard sir klay thompson who anthony davis. The list goes on and on. All i heard was lola. Bunny well on july sixteenth prepared to enter a new dimension explore new worlds and experience the event of the summer. Whether you're team tune squad or team goon squad. You won't want to miss this one. It's space jam a new legacy and it is in theaters and on hbo. Max july sixteenth rated p g and we're back a see there are five under vaccinated clusters that are putting the entire. Us at risk you know kind of self explanatory but yeah there. There's these big dots on the us map mostly in northern texas louisiana. And they're fucking us right. Couldn't be a better time to vaccinated if you haven't from my variant of cova that you can be protected by with the vaccination if you live in one of those areas but don't do the math of thinking other people are vaccinated because you can't honestly if you really break it down. You can pretty much figure damn near one into people isn't if he has you know. Look sort of statistically or at least like you know regionally i know other places have much higher rates but yet it's it's scary and and the sad thing too is now like those people are actually bearing the brunt of it because people were vaccinated while they may test positive. They're not going with they're not. It's not going arriving at a place where they're being hospitalized or even you know succumbing to the virus so the i don't know man got a real interesting way of thinking out here in these united states Really interesting way of thinking you got there. The scientists is it's it's kinda like approaching trump levels where it seems like. He's just hoping to do whatever is going to seem the craziest to like normal. Rational people like ak the mainstream media that or like trump like sort of trump analogs which are real estate owners and condominium building owners has right now given the horrific condominium collapse that happened in surf. Side run to santa's is now refusing to commit to like a stricter review of like building conditions in florida. Like not even interested in like reviewing it and this is what he said when they asked about like. You know like you're the governor and if it's happening here i'd imagine that this can't this might not be just a unique instance and he says well we obviously want to be able to identify. Why did this happen because the buildings were probably maintained and okay. Is this something that was unique to this building. Is that something that was unique to the person that may be developed it because obviously their sister properties is something that buildings of that age that would have implications beyond that whether southern florida or the entire state of florida. I think we need to get those definitive answers. What are you seeing. Sixty people are confirmed. Dead and the rescue operators are saying there's basically zero percent chance that there will. They'll recover survivors at this point. And all you're doing pulling up for the condo the real estate people. Yeah yeah well. We wouldn't want to be too hasty with their with our changing of rules to make bowl do extra inspections guys come on. That's just that's just wild. That's out of control. You know and obviously i'm the governor but like what are you going to protect the residents of my state from avoidable. Death come on right But yeah i mean really this is. This is how this part especially conservatives operate which is will hold on. Because it's not just that he doesn't care it's that if there is a review and all these other buildings are in really bad shape that means. The owners of those buildings are screwed financially and not say screwed because i've empathy but screwed in their narrow view of how their life works. Which is i. don't wanna pay anything. I'm just here to set up these like wealth. Siphons better called a condo right. It'll be interesting to see. I'm looking forward to the war of attrition between two santa's and trump like 'cause you know that they're not going to back down from one another you know they. They both have two big egos It'll be interesting to see how that how that goes. It's like truly like this weird shitty poker game or like the santa's has to if if he really is. He has his sights set to blow trump out and be that new guy like how yes did sort of draft behind trump until the very last second and cut that inside straight to break ahead of him. You know what. I mean I i don't know full metaphor a perfect metaphor using f. One yup get down imagery to but yeah. That's exactly right like he's basically having to be let trumpy his lead blocker and then also needs to destroy.

In two thousand eighteen. things had changed donald trump. And whether or not he had done wrong. Things were very much in the news but she was limited by this. All the president's lawyers says of a noddy is a virtuoso at working the media joining us now is the lawyer representing stormy daniels. This is about the extent that mr cohen and the president have gone to intimidate this woman to silence her so the benefit of his approach. Was that it really. No longer mattered. Ultimately happened in the cakes everything she could possibly want to say about. The relationship about the president of the united states is willingness to pay one hundred thirty thousand dollars in hush money adult actress. All that was out. Were you physically attracted to him now. Not at all now. Did you want to have sex with. But i didn't. I didn't say no. I'm not a victim. I'm not. It was entirely consensual. Oh yes so you could not force. The horseback into the barn does even know the law. He's a thug friend is wrong. Thank you in a lot of respects. He was the perfect foil for donald trump. Because he was a lot like him he would say pithy comments. It makes the nixon tapes look like a church picnic. He got right in the middle of it. We were never going to participate in any cover-up he was a fighter. Yes it was an absolute disaster for the president so he became overnight sensation a liberal folk hero. I mean people really loved michael al-banadi for taking on the president tonight. I want to speak with you about the fight. Manati lawyers are two page summary of coverage of his presidential ambitions. Comparing his visit to iowa with barack obama's in two thousand six and quoting supporters saying. I haven't been this excited since. Jfk the public chest. Thumping privately of anonymous finances are a mess. According to his longtime office manager qi will later testify that his firm is hemorrhaging money. Unfortunately with a lot of people do as they get out in front of their skis a lot. They have a good month or a good year and they make an awful lot of money and suddenly. They have an italian sports car in the garage of a ninety. Each cash and federal indictment accused him of stealing from clients including nearly three hundred thousand dollars from stormy daniels. The southern district is alleging. That michael avenue helped stormy daniels negotiate a book deal and then when the payments came due for that book deal instead of giving them the stormy daniels. Michael doughty took them put them into his client trust account and paid himself. All the while lulling stormy on the money's on its way the money's on its way when allegedly ended already been paid and spent and it's not just his most famous client. That avenue is accused of leasing indictments say he victimizes the most helpless to in two thousand twelve. A man named jeffrey johnson is locked up in l. A. county jail for a crime. He didn't commit during that period of time. She was depressed and attempted suicide on two occasions. In both suicide attempts johnson jumps of balcony to the concrete floor below the first time he avoided major injury but the second time he breaks his back. Kim severed his spinal cord to his paralyzed from the waist down. He'll be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. During the period of time is in jail. He's abused by the deputies so he has had a very very difficult life. And we're doing our very best right now to help him like mr. Kelly had told you my name is jeffrey johnson. Dan callahan is the lawyer who now the judge but back in two thousand twelve johnson had hired michael abernathy ever nutty shoes. La county for negligence in allowing johnson to attempt suicide in full view of the guards. What actually he did a fine job. He recovered a settlement. And that's where things broke down. This is a copy of the check that the county of los angeles issued any amount of four million dollars after getting a settlement in january of two thousand fifteen. He told the client several lies. He told the client that has the money would come in over ten years and be paid quarterly. That was a lie. Miss robin ati had the payment. Within five days he told mr johnson the settlement would be confidential. He couldn't tell anybody that was a lot. In fact the four million dollar settlement was approved by the board of supervisors and posted on its website. So what happened was he withheld the money from mr johnson for a period of four years. Always leaving him on saying it's coming it's coming. But meanwhile he made periodic payments to mr johnson between nine hundred and one thousand nine hundred dollars basically monthly for a total of one hundred twenty four thousand dollars and mr johnson better. He believed entrusted misr of nadi while presenting himself as a champion of the downtrodden with our country under an unprecedented assault by a con man. Who fights only for himself was allegedly doing the very thing he railed against and degrades the vulnerable and the powerless ivan. Naughty has been charged with ten counts of wire fraud. In the case of jeffrey johnson and three other clients he has pleaded not guilty and awaits trial ever now. He's lawyer says in part. The government allegations are categorically false. The government fails to account for all of the money. That was spent for.
