Dolphins' Tagovailoa considered retirement after concussions
"Miami Dolphins quarterback to a tagovailoa revealed Wednesday he considered walking away from the game of football. It was a brief thought after he was diagnosed with two concussions last season, and many questioned if it was safe for the 25 year old to continue playing. Yeah, I think I considered it for a time. After talking to his family and doctors, tagovailoa ruled out retirement and started training in martial arts this off season to help reduce head injuries. Brian Flores was a head coach for the Miami Dolphins. The Miami Dolphins fired him. He was one of the very, very few black head coaches in the NFL when he was fired. He has since sued the NFL. He's calling attention to what's known as the Rooney rule, which requires teams to interview at least one black coach that since expanded to two for a head coaching position. But his point because of an experience that he had was at this role as a sham. The reporter who wrote about him is Ira boud way. Let's listen to him. When he got fired and they were down to one black head coach left in the NFL, that was Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Tomlin hired Flores as a linebackers coach is one of his defensive assistants, and that's where he is now. You know, Colin Kaepernick, who's mentioned in the case, has been blackballed, or at least many people believe blackballed by the NFL for taking a knee during the national anthem. And there was some sense that Flores by filing this suit had sort of made it so he would never coach in the NFL again. But that's not true. He's got an assistant coaching job, which is interesting because part of what this lawsuit alleges

"So we select three plays that are all and may not even be a play from the game. It may also be something off the field. But bone headed examples circus examples, you know, Alex and I didn't use the word clown necessarily last week. When we did our overview with the fin fans, but certainly both of us are of the opinion that we're managed by clowns and we're coached by clowns at this point, because every week we see just plays that are either called in horrible situations or executed so badly that they haven't been practiced enough. Whatever is just really boneheaded things, and this is yet another one of the worst bone headed plays, you want to start with the one that won, and then talk about the runners. Oh, no, let me give you the two runner up. Okay. The first one is Williams and red wine for being inactive, not allowed to travel for the team with the team for some whatever. It seems like you could deal with a different way. At just amazing, it's just a take away the potential opportunity for them to get just how juvenile what I would have done mistake they must have made. You know, I mean, again, it's showing lack of focus and that doesn't happen in good teams. It just doesn't. I'll take the next one. Let me take that. Because I woke up writing this one in my head and thought about it last night and had it all prepared and said, you know, no one else is gonna have this take. We have the ball and in the situation where you've got no chance to win whatever, just a few seconds left, no timeouts. We throw a screen pass to gaskin behind the line of scrimmage. And he gets blown up. Now, in every other game in every other situation, I find coaching it or if Don Shu is coaching it or any knowledgeable respectful whatever person they're either just going to hand the ball off to run up the middle to eat the clock. Or they're going to take a knee. Yeah, get out of there. Get out of there. Yeah. There's no football play that you can score whatever we do. With three scores, 17, 18 points. Right. So why are you putting players at risk by calling something absolutely asinine retarded? Put whatever insult you want to put on a clown show, clown show. So, terrible, terrible, terrible. You know, we have clowns. We have firing offenses, put on the field every week. It seems like. Well, you can introduce the winning. This is this team is so bad they can't snap the ball. Well, it was what 20 7 seconds left in the first half. We have the ball the 12 yard line. We have one timeout left. And is going nuts because everybody's lined up and correctly waddle is, and the whole confusion, he didn't want to get an illegal motion. Because he had to go in motion obviously. Finally, they do get settled and he does go in motion and of course the boss snapped hits him as fumble recovered by buffalo end of the game, more end of the half, but I thought more importantly end of the game because we knew every dolphin fan that that just symbolized our season or finding a way to lose. Our game and again, you know, just a total minimum wage to go to the half up 6 three. Dolphin clowning. Ideally, we would have gone up ten, three. The big top just came up and that's what happened in that. And that play just a civilized area to me the game was over and we were tied. So it's kind of double whammy coaching one for not having people in the right place, understanding what they're going to run, right? Two leadership on tua, big time on tour for not getting people in alignment quicker? We're not calling the damn timeout. We had a timeout left. 27 seconds at the 12 yard line sky. So two people can call time out, right? The quarterback quarterback and the head coach. When flow, who's supposed to be managing the game looks up, sees this happening, sees where the play cock is, he could have stepped on the field and he sees this clown show going on. He should be saying, please. We have time out. Let me ask you this. Let's talk about game management again. Okay, I'm sure he wants to save the timeout, right? He wanted to. But he's seeing things unfolding and going back. There's 27 seconds. You can either tight end, man. You could even complete a pass and kill the I mean, there's time left on the clock. Why on earth did they just call the timeout? And you could then you could run your play. Yeah. It's not a big deal. There's 27 seconds at the 12 yard line of buffalo. Again, coaching baby. I mean, don't know where to win up or go. Players were like, what the hell's going gets? He's going nuts again. It just, it was like the Keystone cops and we could have given two winners almost on that. Unbelievable. So it was a bunch of three and outs, you know? My defense was still bawling out at this point. I mean, you know, bill's got the ball and we forced them to three and frequently applying pressure. Not quite getting them, not taking them down, but at least getting his face getting.

"The problem is is that they're dear. Drafting has just been horrendous. You know you. You don't necessarily look at a guy like waddell and say well. He wasn't a bad draft pick. You know he. Then you don't understand player personnel as to call watch football game your entire life guy. How much input do you think. Flora's has in the personnel decisions. I think he is solely responsible for cutting players from the team. Yep that's all those people that have been cut and gone elsewhere and been successful. It's a sign of bad coaching for two reasons. One flow didn't understand the talent level. Well enough or You know whatever in order to cut them in into if they were truly performing that bad and then immediately i don't mean like a year later started doing better went somewhere else and immediately started playing at a higher level got three linemen then coaching. "Breaking news out of miami gardens. The miami dolphins will be without wide receiver willful or for sunday's matchup versus the buffalo bills. The team is calling it. A personal issue and brian flora's even when as far to say there was a possibility for may not suit up the rest of the season. Obviously a lot of unknowns. But what were your thoughts. Jake when you first heard this friday afternoon. But just i do have to say. I think we're kind of over-reacting about this. A little bit will fuller was in the building wednesday. I believe he was actually in the building thursday as well. I'm concerned for some things are bigger than football. I don't necessarily know. I mean ryan floors declined to say preston. Williams who is fully active is going to be playing on sunday. So i think that's more displays being bryant floors as much as odd. This is something that's gonna completely ruin season. I hope that isn't the case. And so the thing that a lot of people don't know ucla's. I'm like a lot of programs in the nation. He had another one concussion in high school. And so if the medical staff and ucla knows that you've had three concussions They will suggest you to medical medically retire because at four they will force you to keep you on. San Francisco 49ers trade up for the No. 3 pick
"The forty niners trade up to number three overall in the twenty twenty one draft. This was shocking. News to me. Came out right after my episode released on saturday or on friday after i sent over my episode but i normally just was not expecting Draft news to come this early. I feel like most years. The draft news comes a lot closer to the draft is still three or four weeks away but the forty niners did in their aggressive so they traded the twelfth overall. Pick a twenty twenty two third round compensatory pick and first round picks in twenty twenty two and twenty two thousand three for the miami dolphins number three overall selection so the dolphins moved to twelve where the four nine were previously listed. And now the forty niners move up to three. So what does this mean. First of all they swap a total of three first round picks. Is that smart to do. I think it is if they liked the guy. If they're convinced on one of these quarterbacks enough and they're confident that they can get them at number three. I think it's a great move because at this point the forty niners roster is loaded. They're trying to win now. And all they need is that future franchise cornerstone to kind of move that what roster forward and push them over the hump so they need to get the future of the franchise right while the roster and core are relatively young and talented like they are but overall. I think this is a great move by four hundred. Gm john lynch because he's been aggressive. He really inherited a mess in two thousand seventeen. They were coming off all the colin kaepernick drama Jim thome soula era. "Not in season. But March has been mad for the league, especially this week here, Schefty with what all went down. What happened here is that the 40 Niners have been trying to move up in the draft into the top five, frankly, for the last few weeks now, and they were able to cold together a deal with the Miami Dolphins at the same time that the Dolphins were going together a separate deal. With the Philadelphia Eagles that enabled the 40 Niners toe move up the third overall position to take a quarterback. And that means in all probability that we're gonna have quarterbacks go with the first three picks in this draft. We would think Trevor Laurence goes one Zack Wilson to and then the 40. "American stories and with the story of an American classic Stephen Ross is the largest real estate developer in America, the owner of the Miami Dolphins. And he shared his life story with our own Alex Cortez. Stephen Ross is a Detroiter born and bred until his parents dragged him against his will. Midway through his freshman year of high school from Miami Beach, Florida hated it down there, actually. And I kind of rebelled against my parents and E got toe little trouble. I mean, I mean, I suppose is studying, you know, go out. Quick. Give me a little bit, You know, I mean, I had a you know everything but study even though my parents really Try to be strict. You know, my father lectured all the time. As opposed because he was working and then he'd lecture me. I guess it didn't do any good, You know, but its ultimate I guess it's something e. I don't know. E wanted to get out of there. I went toe. My parents said. Well, if you're gonna leave, you don't want to go to school here. You have to go to military school. It's fed about four days of military schools that I go back to school, you know? And e talk to most of my friends. I mean, probably my background was probably different than most, because I've never excelled early in life, and I was We got into college because they had to accept me because I had a standardized test that I Scored well enough that the school had to take you and they flunked out two thirds of the freshman class. They tell you looking at left and looking. You're right. The person sitting next you won't be here next year and So you know, kind of a wake up call. But I also knew if I wanted something we didn't I wasn't doing anything for my parents. I wasn't left anything and they had nothing to give me. You know, so I knew Where was you know is either sink or swim? And then when I got to college, that's when I really kind of started to be able to do well to receive Florida then so I could transfer to Michigan and then law school and then I got my masters in tax law. Which I excelled in, and it's probably the best year of school I ever had. That really had found something enjoyed. It always get good marks. If I liked it, you know, I didn't like the subject. I didn't do very well. Confidence. I mean, you know, you have to first find your confidence. That you can succeed and do something well, Excel. Continue on me, as they say Success breeds success. Mean, teachers told my parents. They were wasting time sending me to college, which is really kind of funny, right when I look back at it now, So I mean, I look at myself I was the way it started. Life because it Probably spread about the least likely to succeed in my ass school class, you know? So you tell me how much teachers don't wouldn't so the environment of which were brought up on me Even when your parents As much as my parents emphasized that and I could see things Was really later that I really saw things a lot more clearly, you know, after getting his master's degree it and why you Stephen went back to his hometown to work in an accounting firm as a tax attorney. I was doing very well practicing law on it. You know, certain places really kind of funny. It's kind of impulsive.
