"So far, there have been a takers from $1000 tickets. Does this run afoul of the governor's rule here in the state that that you can't utilize vaccine passwords, and it was also passed by the Florida Legislature to Or is this a clever way around it a loophole? I would think this is a loop like that. I think it's a brilliant loophole in its perfect capitalism. If somebody really wants to go and doesn't want to get vaccinated, I think $1000 a little bit much. But if you would have charged 100, I would have had this perfect capitalism that what's waves should work. Yeah, because you are requiring proof of vaccination, but you're not banning them from entering your just charging them more on. Maybe this is a well Maybe this is a loophole The cruise line should think about. Yeah, exactly that. Maybe that's something they look into. Maybe this is the loop all I don't know, I I gotta We gotta talk to some legal expert about this, but I think I think this Florida promoter as found a way around that vaccine, passport ban it be interesting to see if anybody takes him up on the $1000 tickets more. "In Florida a Miami Dade police officer has been relieved of duty after video emerged of him hitting a black woman at the Miami International Airport yesterday. Body Cam footage shows the woman arguing with the officer before she moved just inches away from his face, and it escalates from. You just heard the officer hitting the woman. She then falls to the ground as more police. Rush into the frame, the Miami Dade Police Director Alfredo Ramirez says he was shocked and angered by the video and has asked the Miami Dade State Attorney to investigate the use of force Miami Herald reporter. David Ovalles has been covering this and David, the body cam footage begins after the woman and the police officer appear to have already been in something of a dispute. Do? We know how this started. Yes, so the woman is twenty one year old pairs, Anderson she was at the airport and had missed a flight, so she was according to the police yelling at the ticket agent. They call. The police tried to calm her down according to them, you see her yelling at the police officer taunting him about one point. He kind of steps back. Back a little bit, and then she steps into his face, and then he claims it was a head bud, and then he just you know delivers a slap. That <hes> is very visceral when you watch it, it is for sure and when you see the video, and from what you can tell from your reporting a in reference to the officer saying that she had headbutted him. Is there any indication that that had happened in? What are you hearing about whether? It would have been an appropriate response to hit her like that. I wouldn't say it's a head, but but certainly one could argue that perception, but as for whether it's inappropriate use of force. It's it's Kinda hard to tell I mean in Florida. The stand your ground law allows anybody not just police officers, no duty to retreat so whether it would be a criminal charge that's going to be debatable. Certainly administrative you talk to police, officers and I've had more than a few reach out to me and say that's absolutely how they're taught. They call it a diversionary strike. Now there's the other element in that. She wasn't wearing a mask and so there's this whole Cova vid angle as well so it's messy. It's not. optically, it looks really really bad <hes>, but I think there's going to be a lot more nuance to a case like this. Then a few of the other use of force cases we've seen in south Florida in the last couple of weeks. Right and look tensions between black people and white officers has been at the center of so many of these cases that we've been. been talking about. But how are people reacting to this incident? Given the both the woman and the officer are black well. That's one of the sort of grey areas that POPs up in Miami more than than other places because we are such diverse community, white officers here are in the minority. Most are Hispanic and there's a pretty good amount of black officers here to. In this case, the officer Tony Rodriguez is a black Puerto Rican officer, so there is a sort of added element of that you know I. Think a case like this also underscores what a lot of block officers are feeling in terms of tension and conflict block officers really know too well what it's like to grow up black, but also feel very conflicted because they're devoted to their jobs, and they feel like they're being singled out as quote, unquote sellouts, and so it also underscores. A lot of the dynamics in these really precarious times.

"This brighter job picture comes even as the US reported nearly fifty thousand new cases of Covid nineteen yesterday and many states are now putting their reopening plans on hold. Some are closing businesses for a second time for more now. Let's bring in Ellie vel she. MSNBC anchor in economics reporter highly. Finally saw so as we heard there. The presence is pretty enthusiastic about the numbers today, but given that the June jobs report likely doesn't reflect the rise in infections and states such as California now closing bars and restaurants once again and even fireworks displays this weekend. are not supposed to happen. How does he asked? SHOULD WE BE? Well I think we have to look at the the way. The data is gathered right. The monthly jobs survey is compiled between June. Seventh and thirteenth, basically between the you know the beginning of in the middle of the month that's before coronavirus cases began to spike in the big states, including in Florida re spiking in California, Arizona and several other states and we also have. Have the weekly initial unemployment claims and we know that since June twentieth that was the Fifteenth Straight Week of unemployment claims that exceeded one million, so we sort of have to accept that we're in this time where the data's going to be competing and on a lag. Obviously, it's good that some people are coming back I. Think going back to work I. Think it's not. Accurate, for the president to suggest the economy is roaring back and whatever these numbers are, they'll have been a dip. Since the survey was taken one of the industries that had picked up a little bit last month was hospitality and we're hearing from some restaurant owners who say they probably have to close for good as reopenings are being delayed. What do we know so far about how many restaurants are having to close permanently? Well so the jobs number we saw one and a half million jobs added in June, so of all the job gains in this job report thirty percent are from hospitality, but the sector is still way down. There are a number of restaurants a according to the National Restaurant Association Association, there are six hundred sixty thousand restaurants that have closed in in the country. Three percent of them are closed permanently, and many more of them will now be closing. A number of restaurants have said they could maintain themselves for two months or three months. That becomes very difficult because the average restaurant in America doesn't have that sort of they. They work off of cash flow. Most restaurant owners give themselves a fifteen percent chance of surviving according to a poll by the National Bureau of Economic Research. If Corona, virus lasts for six months and we're. We're now almost at that point. I'll ask you one other thing. There was some racial data in the Labor Department's report today. Whites have the lowest unemployment rate at ten percent blacks, the highest at fifteen, Hispanic, and Asian unemployment slightly lower hovering around fourteen. What's driving these disparities? Well in general African Americans earn less other quicker to be laid off their slower to be rehired, and they're less likely to be promoted. That's a normal situation outside of krona virus, but right now black and Hispanic workers are most likely to be in the types of jobs affected by crow virus that can't be done remotely, and that require face to face contact like food service, hospitality, manufacturing, temporary work nursing The statistics indicate that only sixteen percent of Hispanic workers and nineteen percent of black workers are in jobs in which they can tell a work or work from home. So that is part of what this issue is. L. E..
