Miami Heat's Goran Dragic, Bam Adebayo exit with injuries in loss to Los Angeles Lakers

"Is back in the house. Your quick thoughts on the NBA Finals last night game one laker domination. Liquor shoot the ball like that. They're the best team in MBA by far by far. There's nobody cloaks they made eleven threes in the first half, and at times you felt Miami's intensity defensively laps. Now they battled with injuries to Bam and Goren drugs I understand that. But when a Lakers may shots kentavious pope was shooting lights out Danny, green shot the ball. Well, AD was making threes and one side happens the game is over because then it opens up the paint for ad and Lebron James to attack and that's how both those guys end up having huge night's loss and that's the thing about it especially out in La when they put this team together one of the biggest. Things kept saying everybody and you notice Jay will cover the NBA on NBA down is that where are the shooter's Lebron James Ad but where the shooters there was no real of confidence in the Greens in the peas in those guys to take to be a consistent three point shooting team because when you look historically on Lebron James Teens, he's always had pure shooters around him and everybody was questioning what would that look like but they it to be on the playoffs I mean, what can you say they are right in front of you last night and I can say this if there's no Gordon dragoj on the floor if there is no Bam out of by on the floor. It's over. This thing is over, it's easily over. You could actually make a debate that it would be over even if they were on the floor well, there's no debating. Just. Say Gordon Rockets at. Times during Boston Celtics series he was their best player on the floor. Absolutely. We're Bam, right. So now you take those two guys out of the question only guy that can stop the Lakers to some degree from upfront right from getting offense rebound and things of that sort but he's not in the game you have Kelly Olympic Meyers Leonard hasn't played in a long time. There's really no chance and by the way you have Jimmy Butler who rolled his ankle and his knee twice last night. Yeah, and continue to try to play. In in typically when when when teams start losing players in sports, they just for whatever reason, it just goes

Orlando Magic's Jonathan Isaac explains why he didn't take knee or wear Black Lives Matter shirt Friday

"We had an incredible opening weekend of games name a star level player that player delivered at least once if not twice over the first three or four nights of the NBA's restart here in Orlando, we had crazy comeback wins. By the Houston Rockets, we had a dominant performance by. Jaanus over some little pesky pip squeak team from New England I forget who they might be. We got Marcus smart got fined for trying to work the officials. We've got storylines upon story lines. The clippers bounce back from their loss to the Lakers. Looking excellent and just throttling the New Orleans Pelicans. There's so many different directions that we can go Michael that I decided. Here's what we're GONNA do opening weekend heaters we're GONNA have just open ended questions are we're going to ping pong back and forth you give me your answers I'm going to give you my answers to these questions and try to cover as much ground as possible before we get there though I do want to double back quickly on the national anthem demonstrations that we touched on last episode, we got so many thoughtful emails from various members of the open floor globe on this subject, but I think there was a major development after we spoke on Friday. and. That involve Jonathan Isaac Meyers. Leonard Gregg Popovich Becky Hammon and one of the NBA referees all deciding to not kneel to not really participate in what had been in unified demonstration on Thursday. All of those people who chose to stand were obviously doing it on principle and they were doing it knowing there was going to be a lot of attention their direction. Now, if you look at Popovich amend the referee essentially, they were trying to just say, Hey, I support the the Social Justice Movement it's it's a private or personal decision for the referee said look I it's important to me to stand Meyers Leonard made a similar comment. Essentially. Saying that his brothers military service in the in the military service of close people in his life led him to WanNa stand to salute the flag. But within Isaac was a slightly different case and he actually used this entire demonstration opportunity to almost have a one man demonstration of his own. In his belief, the idea of the black lives matters movement quote unquote doesn't go hand in hand with supporting black lives. He also said that you know we shouldn't be necessarily judging things solely based on skin color that we should be trying to live a life basically you know in God's mold and try to live up to his standard, and that Jesus Christ was his personal savior and and that he wanted everyone to focus on that. Aspect of of living rather than the particular issue that was being brought forward with the black lives matter movement by the players he didn't really get any major pushback. Within the NBA Community people respected his right to make a stand. He actually not only did he stand during the national anthem? He didn't wear a black lives matter t shirt which many people notice because he was essentially the only player not to do that his whole personal story Michael took a crazy twist over the weekend and sad twist when he wound up tearing his ACL injury that's going to end his time here in Orlando obviously but also could cost him all of next season. So now talk about a whirlwind seventy, two hours for player who generated millions of us with his comments about the protests. I'm curious. Let's start with Jonathan Isaac. What did you make of his decision? After we've seen things settle in the last couple of days You know maybe it doesn't seem quite as Eye Opening as it did at that moment, but I'll admit I was I was surprised to see given the buy in from everybody on opening night. Right, I mean I just WanNa Start and say that it it really really is a bummer to see anyone get injured but particularly is ICK who was already on restriction he was already playing with a humongous brace on his leg from a previous injury that cost him a majority of this regular season before it was suspended. So I just I feel for him greatly. I I think generally speaking. The coverage of who stands in who sits I mean we talked about this heading in anticipated it I. Think I think the coverage is generally besides the point and it doesn't really get the point I feel like people are using. This as an opportunity to shame those who are standing in a little bit I mean Meyers Leonard. said, he couldn't sleep before he made the decision to stand and that's just like not. The whole focus or the point here right like. You can obviously Support Black lives and also stand for the national anthem. It is a symbolic gesture that is what it is in the case of Isaac. I really had a difficult time understanding even what his message was until you interpreted it the way that you did I mean I watched the clip of Him Multiple Times survey there I'm GonNa just GonNa read what he said I and then we can use that as a jumping off point because I don't WanNa torture what he said earlier and I might have done that. So sorry for that. He says quote absolutely I believe that black lives matter kneeling while wearing a black lives matter t shirt doesn't go hand in hand with supporting black lives. I. Don't think kneeling or putting on a T. shirt for me personally is the answer i. Feel like for me, black lives are supported through the Gospel. All lives are supported through the Gospel. We all have things that we do wrong. Sometimes, it gets into a place of pointing fingers. We all fall short of God's glory whoever will humble themselves and seek God and repent of their sins. We can see our mistakes and people's mistakes and evil in a different light. Racism isn't the only thing that flags our society, our nation and our world, and he basically said he wanted this conversation to get out of the realm of skin color because the answer to all of our problems in everything that goes on in our world is Jesus. So. when I watched the clip. I'll I'll be honest. I was a little confused where he was going to after typing it all out trying to marinate on what he was saying I think he essentially wanted to have a demonstration on behalf of his religious beliefs and that this was an opportunity for him to say look you know focusing only on one particular group I. Guess in his view, the black lives matter group and you know everybody wearing a t-shirt doesn't necessarily achieve the wider goal which would be presumably healthy living. You know honest living you know Living which to him as a higher priority I think that's where he was going with his statements.

"You and I have known each other a long time watching T, B, t the basketball tournament Joe, Johnson, who may be on his way to the hall of fame Sunday with was dominant Team elite did lose yesterday in the finals. In dwayne Wade who is tweeting about? SCALISE, said Joe Johnson get twenty points in his sleep right now on a winning team in the NBA to scale. I think you're the perfect guy to ask this question because I remember in Boston when there was a gallon, people wanted in listeners who don't know what that is. fans who were talking trash to scalp finally scalp frustrating, said all right fine. You know what we'll play one on one to see you. The best guy is so scale to. To close out the show. Can you please let our listeners know what the difference is between players in NBA? Players so so I'm a little neutral on this. Ryan. Because I recognized that there's a lot of great players that could beat me one on one I. do recognize that because you as you know, that's not my skill set. That's not what I'm good at right and there's a lot of players that can't play basketball lick, but can play one on one right two more variables you have. Have, the easier it is for me like basketball was played ten on ten I'd still be playing right now, but nonetheless Joe. Johnson wasn't leat one on one player in the NBA, so any of these guys who are elite in the NBA can be any any joe any overseas. Any of those guys out there. They're just on a different level like my personal opinion. Yes, I could any average Joe, but the reason why an and you could mention this as as evaluating, there's usually something missing with is. Is who were playing in the G. League or playing overseas? In sometimes it size sometimes Athleti athleticism, but a lot of times it's just feel for the game, and even though they're good at one on one. They don't have a great deal for the game. That's what they sort of missed. So I love doing this gallage. I would roast any normal human being, but I'm pretty sure now. Some of the normal guys who play overseas like me league guys who play overseas could probably beat me now. I agree with that scale, but you're in your early forties now and to me. What stood out was the difference between pros. Joe Johnson and look. There are some very good players in the basketball tournament. Guys, we've had a lot of success and the G. League and overseas but I. Joe's at a different level and he's a borderline NBA player at this point. Point so I I do think there's a difference as we wrap up the show here on Scallon Pals between guys who outplayed in the NBA or good enough to play in the NBA and those who are just a tier two below. Although you again, you can make a lot of money and have a very nice life playing basketball at high level overseas. So. We cover anything I feel like going into the show. We thought we were worried. It might be a little light. And then news broke throughout the show. We had westbrook. We had Rondo we. We had to positive covid nineteen testing the bubble. We had sean homes, not really understanding the bubble in addition to cocoa schedule twenty four hours ago. I didn't know how he'd fill show, but seems like we covered a lot of territory today. Yeah, no doubt about it I'M I. I, am I have to admit Manam a little bit worried about this about these two players and wondering how this all unfold, so we'll have to see how how how it plays out, and what happens in. If hopefully we want the bubble to have like that slowly. We don't want this distinct. Blow Up. I think it's imperative on so many levels for our show. Other people show for the human human beings out to believe that something good and positive could happen so. I'm glad to NBA sort of stopped hissing early, but I think we covered all of it. But I'm not GonNa live you Ryan a little bit worried about this. I'm worried as well scowl. We'll be back with you later this week. We'll have an update by then. We may know who the players are. Who tested positive over the last hour, so four cove and nineteen again I'm Ryan. mcdonagh I was joined by Brian Scale, brainy, and unlike Bruno Camacho owner sean homes. We try to not to miss anything on radio. Dot Com here on Scallon PELS..

"Remove those two guys from the bubble safely and that you know currently it seems. The league's approaches that nobody they know of has corona virus in the bubble right now. Okay, so you're saying these these guys are other guys who have showed up late. These guys are one of those players were said of the three hundred and twenty two players tested for covid nineteen since arriving on the NBA's campus July seventh. To have returned confirmed positive tests wall in quarantine. Oh I think these guys who arrived with their team My guess is these two guys did test positive in their markets or else? They would not have traveled with their teams, and I've been on the team plane to travel to Orlando but upon arrival scale. Over the last week or so they tested positive and seems like the League shut it down, did not let those guys out of quarantine and then remove them from the group to try to keep everybody. WHO's currently in the bubble as healthy as possible. Then where do they get it? If they if they picked it up somewhere on the team plane on the flight down there sitting next to other people on the bus I don't how? This is. Now I'm really confused. They a win in the took their two days during those two days they took tests during those tests. Two of the three hundred and fifty people that were there kicked it up, but did that. Those two people definitely interacted with somebody from their own team during this time. Is that right? They had to jump on the plane together. Yeah. That's why there's so many questions about the virus scale about the transmission of it. You know the the lagging in in symptoms, shoring or in positive test results you know some people? Obviously, it's affected horribly. There've been over one hundred thirty thousand deaths. Some people have it and seemed to not know they haven't don't feel any symptoms. So I think that's why it's so hard to measure. People are smarter no a lot more about science than you and I do get get into more why they think. Think that is, but it does seem like two guys over last week tested positive and what the League in the Players Association is saying is that they have a separated isolated those players, and and they have removed those players from the bubble environment and again hopefully nobody else gets it, but I I do think those teams one or two teams that those players play for will be under increased scrutiny especially over next week or so, and and hopefully we we don't have spread within the bubble. So. Are we calling the bubble popped leak or nothing? I think there's a little a pinprick in the bubble. Still, very good. In the air, you gotta fill up the tire like every like ten days, and sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's not always like that little leak in the tire. They tested three hundred twenty two players, three, hundred, twenty, tested negative. They're fine and to tested positive, and they're scale like survivor. They got voted off your Orlando bubble. Real quick to round out the show again. Ryan mcdonagh and Brian Scale Brainy with you as always on Scallon pals upscale, our guy one of our favorite Sharon Scallon. Pals Kyrie Irving had some interesting comments this weekend. All directed at perk. Probably was directed at our friend. Kendrick Perkins Got Kyrie was talking to his sister Asia in an instagram live chat. They were talking about the Kyri six color way that she designed when. Sneakers and here's what Kyrie said. Scalia said it's about on the court. Look at my resume. Look at the classics. Look at my art. He said I created it going on for ten plus years now don't play with me. Don't play with what I do day in day out basis to provide and go out there and create close quote scale. What do you think about Kyrie irvings comments about him being an artist. What is the resume? Can Can I get to resume because you can look at the resume as hit the biggest shy in Cleveland Cavalier history you know won the championship with the Braun, or you can also look at it like. Like the most guy who is dysfunctional and didn't talk to his own team for two weeks with the Boston did the exact same thing and was dysfunctional. They're the nets are better without you like which resume. Are we looking at the Kyri? Because he sells a bunch of shoes and he can like one of. His players to watch in the NBA. Just strictly entertainment, or are we talking about the other resume well I think it's all factored in, and that's why he's such a controversial and polarizing player as talented. Is there any anyone in the league with the ball in his hands off the dribble creating? But how does that impact winning as far as getting teammates involved as far as defending, and then recently as far as Labrador, ability I I think those are all criticisms of Kyrie and You know we've been critical of them on the show. In my opinion, I don't think comments like this. Help that that you know he's artist. You know look at the classics, but by the way he didn't WanNA play in Orlando and in fact, he thought that most of Lake should not play there. I don't I don't know it's. It is good stuff for radio, but you gotTA. Remember Ryan I lived through this last two years, and I'm Kinda sick of it, but it is great content. Speaking of great contents Gals, we round out the show. There was a beer chugging contests in the was started by JJ rhetoric. He was playing golf. Round of golf got cancelled. He said he chug Bud light if he got ten thousand retweets which he did. Jj redick shotgun, a beer scowl. Meyers Leonard continued at the Center for the Miami Heat continued it. Both showing pretty good technique, and I was impressed with how quickly those guys could get down a beer and now Jordan Clarkson scowl breaking news urine. Gallon Pals Jordan Clarkson has challenged Meyers Leonard to a beer judge chugging contests. A Leonard has said that he accepts the challenge. So who do you like in that matchup scale? Meyers, Leonard Versus Jordan. Clarkson in a beer, chugging contests, and then you know, take a broader approach. Who Do you think would be the best beer charter in the entire NBA? So Meyers Leonard came in the. The League seven foot, like he's supposed to be able to shoot all this athletic and all that stuff like he has never impressed me one second remember that big game he had in the playoffs talking down. All those threes Meyers Leonard has never impressed me as a basketball player as a beer chugging. I got him taking anybody down in the NBA. He talked a beer in one point eight seconds one point eight seconds like it was incredible, so I got Meyers Leonard Best Beer. In the NBA hands down by far it is. The only thing he'll ever be the best in the NBA at is beer chugging? Like Leonard in that matchup as well and fairly or not schedule, and these kind of scenarios I tend to gravitate toward the bigger. Guys I'm Mike Meyers Leonard. The giant human beings, basically he can just the can poke a hole in the side and import down his throat as fast as he can pour it out, he can drink it a one other darkhorse who is not mentioned. You know being in this contest. He is on a contending team, but I'd be interested to see PJ Tucker Yoga Beers well. We had PJ with with the sons. I think those big kind of rugged strong tough guys. you know Leonard Fits that description to some extent scale PJ tucker definitely fits it when I think of beer checkers. I think a man's man so I'd be interested to see PG. PG H Tucker Chug a beer and see how he can do in that. Yeah, I didn't know Meyers Leonard could do what he did. I would pick Steven Adams I. feel like Stephen Adams could take down a beer in no time at all like he just got massive hands, big old head like I would. I would bet on Stephen Adams but watching virus Leonard. It was ridiculous how Passi drink that beer. Yeah, Stephen Adams could probably chug a pony keg or something bigger than one beer if he wants to. I! I wouldn't underestimate that guy as far as doing any anything physical. Feats of strength or or beer-drinking, finally on the show scalise, I thought of you over the weekend..

"You know on the back line you know I I'm certainly vastly improved as individual defender, but I. don't I don't mind being the guy that's just absolute that it's okay to me and I don't also don't mind bossing at the five every single bloodletting damn complaining to three months off transition. I don't care about sets. Some people do some people. No judgment on that doesn't and it helps our team because it allows for everyone else to excel in my opinion. Okay, so we're! We're like four days into the bubble K.. One was like Troy Daniels tweets a photo of the appetizer and NBA outrage. Twitter immediately goes crazy, not even taking the five seconds to realize that it's just the appetizer. It's not the actual meal now. You guys of settled in your past the forty eight hour. Mandatory like you can't leave your room. Whoops Bruno close stage of the quarantine. You're in a rhythm. You know like where your meal room is. How long the walk is from the to the meal you can. You can socialize with guys from other teams if you want. That are staying in your hotel. So what's what's the VIBE? I mean you're close with your teammates. Obviously guys on other teams like now that it's settled in once the what's the vibe? What's what's the gripe that maybe still remains that some players have in what what has what have guys already kind of gotten used to? What's what's the Chitchat? Okay so Also start with myself. I just say that I. Don't I don't need much I think it's just fine. My rooms plenty big. Everything is literally organized the way I wanted. The bed is on. The phone now for me Nutritional Weight I am very dialed, so that admittedly has been a little bit difficult for me. I've eaten like man. Hundred level bars already which yes, it is my wife and I S-, company, but very Altenburg and says. So! That's the piece where. They, starting yesterday, we can order like del Friscos. Joe's different places in had it ordered in. Tillman for INC you know owns most of those places and you have. That's out of pocket correct. On Your? Can I just send? You can stay silent for this student saying. That is such a bad look for the NBA to be like. Here's the list just F- fly. They're all owned by the owner of the Houston Rockets. Just just you you. You can just then all him money if you want Myers. Leave that aside a continue with the food stuff. Yes, so so for me. Personally, that's going to be good. have been were. A stake in salmon in different things that I'm accustomed to. That's that's the only thing that's been tough for me, math. The meals that we were getting actually. Aren't that bad like seriously? They are just fine now. Some of them have dairy, so them have glue which things I'm not supposed to be so that's the heart, but outside of that it seems like everyone's pretty good vibe with the mobile so far now we get three weeks a month in two months in some of these teams. Then maybe you're going to start to see you know I'm away from my family. I'm I'm used to you know among the road. All is I'm at least ever now. That I'm back at home in my own bed. You know for me personally. The last thing would be my wife and my dog. Though I love them dearly in it's. It's going to be tough, but again. Keep media millions of dollars basketball. There's plenty of people taking care of. Your people will covet in teaching. Young kids and my brother Aghanistan very closely bunched Mayfield suit. Had some of the most insane operations A. On the face of the planet I have nothing to complain about man. You know there are people out there doing what they do honestly. When I talked to similar says No. I love doing it because I love watching sports, and therefore you know, thank you for what you do at. So that. That you. What do you sense? Your teammates are are also getting used to because you have to. You have teammates that run the spectrum. You have like Jimmy Butler Alpha. Superstar Max contract to Duncan Robinson like dude was a at doing postgraduate exeter years ago and is now in the NBA. So what's what's the VIBE amongst those guys? Question. It's cease good and let me say this as we said earlier, he culture is. It's very real I always wondered about Hugh Culture. You're not on the inside. I think that there's an understanding that yeah. There's GonNa. Be Some bumps along the way, but. Gaza ready to compete in have one goal in mind. Let's Jimmy. And, so you know. It's a couple of people had talked about our heat. Meal Room. They did an unbelievable job. It's not an average meal room here at the NBA bubbles they were covered it with all our families. Photos of big I was so there's two pictures of my wife and I and a picture of my brother and everybody else Jimmy's gotTa. Push up, there Plenty of them and of playing, so he just feels more homey, basically but there's plenty of things to do. Like dray loves to Golf, so I'm pretty sure he's been on the course at least once or twice. you know I, think Kelly. Duncan Clinton when golf with him. You know you see all these things about guys out about fishing in in doing different thinks was. The turn of the matter is everyone's doing their best. In the NBA, in the players. Association I've done an unbelievable job. Setting up for success in the current state wasn't Spoiled is Mangum was take about it, so we just need to overcome the situation and in do our jobs up. How did you end up on accords light yesterday? Okay so first of all. It was a little rusty novels. GonNa say Martin. Stop that no. I come from the State Zach as easy money from me mega mistake. Two point six was a little slow, but I saw JJ's shotgun I thought to myself. I'm a little bored in the mobile guest outside streaming practicing. Let me, just go ahead. And put my stake in the ground here. We'll see what happens. So AH GUMMA coors. Had to obtain the course is good is called. Live like I want specifically i. want the worst beer you have. Bring bring bring me a six pack of the worst beer. You've got roots new stop. "We're about to hit that window at some point, which is a huge milestone for the league to hit if when they hit it. Other than that. You're talking about players getting out and the danger of not players anyone getting out, and again have faith in the adaptability of human beings in the resiliency of human beings, and be I heard from so many people this weekend. That were like Zach. Even if I wanted to get out I don't know how I could do it. It's not like call. By my hotel is like miles from any exit of this premises. It's not like I can call an uber to come. Get me like I. I don't even know how I would do it so. We'll see, but I have faith because like, I like in the hotels are far from each other teams have told me it was like a ten minute drive for us to get to our practice site. Yeah and the bus drivers have to be tested they're assigning bus drivers to drive the same teams around, so they're not having that extra contact with more people than they need to have contact with there are dates when you try to drive in that. Even when I came with a staff approved vehicle initially get in had to roll down. The window had to say who you had in the car had to say why you were there. All of those things have to be done in order to get within the driveway that gets to the hotel, not even getting the hotel, just the driveway. I'm glad you brought up the bus drivers because you know that's something. I reported from the beginning in in in a piece several now probably six weeks ago. About what this was gonNA look you know. There was a lot of justified wondering. Why aren't the Disney employees getting tested? Is that dangerous? I think the NBA and and all the epidemiologists I interviewed agreed like they've done as good a job as possible limiting. Contact between those Disney employees who are not getting tested and. NBA Staff, but there was always going to be a subset of whether they were Disney employees or third party employees in this case, their third party employees, who were going to be subject to some testing with the goal of those being the people who see the players, the most and bus drivers I don't know who the vendors, but the bus drivers are getting tested. We don't have freak. We don't have frequently or no getting tested. They were getting tested every day. In fact, the bus driver that I had initially so when I got campus I had to stay for the first three nights. Nights at an off location hotel because this hotel wasn't even open yet, and so for those three days we had to actually be bust. The Yacht Club where several teams of staying to get tested there and on the boss we were driven by two drivers, one very chatty, lovely man, who is the clippers driver for the duration of when they are here in Orlando and the driver said if he has to get tested every day, and even on his office. They're paying him for four hours to come in to make that time to go. Get tested even if he's not driving though. I think he should get a ring of the clippers. Win and I'm not even joking, I think. I'm not joking. I could see it. I have the tears brings to. He should absolutely getting at least one of the you know who he doesn't. He doesn't get the good one, but it's a ring. The other thing I will say is an agent. If I were an agent of any player that was. The eighth best player on a team or down. What I would be saying to that player is. My Man I don't really care if you WANNA. Get out if you're getting antsy if you are the one who goes out and somehow brings this back in out, even if it's possible, because I guess you have to quarantine for ten days in a row when you get back in so I don't even know if there would be any lag time when someone goes out and is in is in the campus publicly. At without being quarantine, but if I were an agent, I if you're the guy. Eighth Ninth Tenth Guy and you bring it back in, and this thing ends up spreading and the bubble collapses because you are done forever. No one is ever signing you again. Your career is over, so please just do what. And I've you know this isn't? This isn't about, but I've I've just said I'm not trying to be the first domino. That's when people say. How do you know? What are you I'm trying to be as distance where my mass Mike. Love is possible because the thing is so contagious i. just don't want to be the the first domino and I would think that players. They feel the exact same way because. It will get out. It will be known. And if the bubble collapses because of it, that person would feel I, would imagine pretty horrible aside from you know what their intentions were initially. I think they would feel pretty Dang bad. came back in the whole bubble collapse because they needed to go. Out For a little bit. How have practices been? And how are you getting to practices? Are Friends with nears the Mir's bus drivers. We drive in these an enormous charter buses that say a Disney cruise line on the side and have Mickey Mouse on them. and we take those buses to one of the practice now there are. Or courts or practice courts actually in the hotel that I'm staying in and teams are staying in this hotel. Still sometimes are scheduled to come through and practice on this court, so it's a four minute walk from my room to get to those actual practices. It's a five to ten minute drive to get to the other practice sites, and that is done in these dance lead at scheduled times in order to get in the van. You have to have entered your your whole socks meter reading and your thermometer into an half that the league created that then correlates with your magic band that. That you have to wear at all times and on the way out the door, you've to scan your magic, and if it lights up green, that means the information you put in is congruent with being healthy. You're free to get on the bus at a social distance place. They have signs every other seat on the bus saying, please do not sit here because they don't want any two people to be next to each other, which is kind of funny, because right now there's only four or five people on any given bus at any given time, and the actual practices the basketball look. Look similar protocol surrounding it are that are different so yesterday. I was at the Dallas. Mavericks Practice in the trainers were wearing blue gloves, and wiping balls down with clorox wipes between drills. There are seats that are set up around the outside of the court that are all six feet apart that the players have to sit in after they go play, which is funny because they were all just up in.

"meyers leonard" Discussed on LightHarted Podcast with Josh Hart

"Went to vegas and had my physical at a long lunch with coach spoelstra i met in many many of their assistants shooting coach and all these different people and they all just seem so excited to have me be a part of the culture and they said believe believe me i've we've all done our due diligence like from the security guy all the way down and it was like from what we've heard and what we know you seem like the kind of guy we want around someone who's ready to put their work someone who is loyal and in ambitious in wants to win and so i'm excited for them to you have this belief in me and also just how i feel personally as a player again in his man i'm excited for this next step and and will it be different sure but i'm prepared for this opportunity and i'm ready to take my career to a new level yeah i think it's the same same thing with you josh i found out obviously there's that initial shock like well i've the real human problems of moving house and yeah i found out in the middle of an off season workout yeah and i spent seven years in poland but now i'm still trying to find a place miami anyways yeah i mean there's i mean we talked about this larry too but there's this very real human human problems albums that you have to face when immediately told that you're moving across the country geographically by the way portland miami or the furthest by far yeah but i mean once you get past that i think from a basketball standpoint you begin to look at it as a new opportunity and it's exciting so you're refreshed it's a new start and like i said i wanna actually talk about that quickly because i think you know i don't know how much you've talked about your your transition and everything that you fell and everything but you're again i spent seven years in portland now so like when i saw that he was like druid told me to call your age and i was like what are you talking about and he turned his phone around because his his buddy had shown him the tweet and i was like shocked you know when it happens you always wonder like what is going to feel like or maybe maybe i'm gonna play in portland for my whole career was that probably going to happen no but you know i was like in shock and then i was like upset because i didn't understand but then now the realization is i'm excited it's a new opportunity is in a fresh start kind of and but the human aspect of it uh-huh moving from portland miami the geographically the furthest NBA cities from each other i have to sell my house in portland i have to pack packing my entire house my cars i have to find someone who i can trust that when ellie comes on the road that can watch our house like i have to find someone for cocoa like all these things are very real by the way i don't trust normal people with my dog my like my daughter now you know like there's a lot of real human and stuff that comes with kidding trait yeah like this is not this is not some easy like oh yeah cool i'm going to miami yes great and everything but there's a lot that goes as with that for sure kind of talking you know you're very active on the business side of it and we kind of want to hear about no you wouldn't have been this out so you have your own clothing brand foundation guys you and ellie started a they bar bar that we definitely want to hear about home do you invest in split you know the you guys that don't know what split is like peanut butter and jelly sandwich without the bread so basically that was basically a little laura pouches peanut peanut butter i'm butter all oughta stuff jelly whatever so it's like you really just rip it off and you know this snack on there that phase claim which made a huge announcement you know with the the custom shoes so discount about you want to business i what you want to accomplish but it's kind of what made you so active in business for sure i mean well first of all my wife certainly helps with that stuff because she's very smart very driven and wants to learn new things dive into i guess new sectors as whatever you wanna call it and you know i always say this like i guess being in the NBA for seven years i can understand how people would go broke if they've made a decent decent amount of money just because of the private points this and the you know the rodin trip that and whatever you know it's it's easy i guess to to spend a lot of money without actually knowing it but i have been pouring i'm not willing to go back so what i'm trying to tell you as i save my money and i invest my money and in good ways in smart ways and so so yeah i mean split for starters is an investment we made number one because i liked the product it's actually what i use for my pre workout because it's on butter and strawberry or raspberry jim we deliver behalf halftime time guy the guy that just get one like protein good energy perfect it's literally exactly so so we love that so we made the investment there because we believed in the product itself and in where it was going but of course we also like it the phase clan stuff you know you and i both are the very very into the east it's world i think we both understand where where it is and also where it's going i mean it's it's an exciting space i mean i guess in the past people thought well if you're a game you're a nerd or you're not cooling whatever you should be playing sports you should be doing this and doing that let let me just tell you that all the top games right now are out earning dams are out on our earning me well they're out earning a vast majority any of any white collar worker any athlete anybody i mean these guys are bringing in an amazing because they're entertaining they're playing you know they're playing their video games uh-huh the face clan announcement was was super dope for me just because it's authentic to me and not only do i get to stream even do my thing as my own brand but i also believe in phase clinton how you know how big o. following they have and all the content they're producing in the the young talented they're bringing in not only that obviously the established players that they have as well it was just that was an investment that was authentic to me like eliot was even like look i think it's awesome i she she looked at all the numbers and everything of course but she's like you know what that's authentic to you if that's something you would have put in our portfolio let's do it so i i respected her for that of course you know stocks and bonds and all that stuff like that's just hiring somebody that you trust you keep your checks and balances and whatnot but you know when you hire somebody address you say look on it'd be moderately aggressive i'm not you know not shooting for the moon i'm not trying to you know i'm rich because of basketball not because of the money i invest and that's not what my intentions are in the stock market do not lose my money is keeping keeping like and one of my sayings is like when people were talking yeah well i don't wanna have you bought this car that car in a why don't use men were my whenever take private jets and mike look i don't want to act rich now i want to be wealthy later so making wise investments not blowing your fricking money like a lot of times guys are spending it like it's always gonna be there rather rather than letting a compound i don't know i don't know why that you know either they don't have the right people around them i don't want to speak for other people but i understand how money can combat the rescue richard because as they frigging invest it with you know related to rich people a cheap as hell hell they may be driving s. five fifty eighty dinners every now and then sixty either way i i can i'm not willing to go back to being so then then the last minute of courses elliott i starting level foods which the i product is a protein bar nutrition bar damn good by the way thank you damn i gotta get us now you gotta try it on we'll we'll get you some so honestly honestly that that all it's been elliott who is who's been doing a vast majority of the work you know i'm i'm heavily involved behind the scenes but you know with the NBA season such it becomes difficult to put a lot of time in that when i'm constantly focused on basketball but it all started because of all my internal medicine issues and my dietary stuff so a lot of times for me i feel my best play my best when i don't eat gluten dairy and sugar so some people can get away with that i can't and honestly most people don't need any of that and they're dying anyways but unfortunately that's the stuff that tastes good quote unquote so she i literally went on like a ten day road east coast swing you know those go and i came home and she had whipped up protein bars and like what in the worried what are these so she had literally just looked at a couple of packages of popular protein bars and said i whipped him up and i put little carmine i'm just so you'd like him because i love caramel flavor thanks sure enough they were pretty good and she was like do you think maybe we can make this into something i said i don't so why not we both love health wellness you know we're both very active we both love to eat clean so why not so long story short sixteen seventeen eight months later here we are we already had trial run packaging is pretty much done i mean but i gotta say my my wife has just absolutely really crush it i mean she is on her computer doing emails or on the phone you know talking through ingredients or you know margins whatever it is yes i mean day in day out all day long and i have an immense matter respect for how much worse she's put in and where this is going because i i just truly believe in the product we have i think once people taste it number one that's of course that's the number one thing if someone didn't pick up approaching barton on tastes like who who wants to do that so we've kind of said that it's like whole foods mitch GNC so it's like a good performance bar but it also has clean ingredients and it also tastes really really good so that was kind of.

"The same room because you know one they would the same NATO static into if they did i like our somebody obviously it ended like no one's gonna like say eight at to you like interface but like they're they reason why you know their stuff that you know wh- kahlo and a finals or you know russ in utah like because at the end of the day like where people were grown men like there are starting stuff that you just should not say whether it has rosalie you know or or whether it's just totally foul you know stuff you know it's just certain things like you just can't say to another human being and at the end of the day like man-to-man no because at the end of the day if he was in the same room and you had energy like go move sofas to the side and like we're we're gonna see what's what but they're going to figure out who the hammers you but at the end of the day like don't wrong we love the position that we're in reality we know we're put on a pedestal but at the end of the day you know basketball player that's our profession that's not who we are like i'm not josh hard to basketball player i'm josh are are the person at the end of the day i think that's what a lot of people kind of lose track of ended today we've saint people blonder forget i'll go on your twitter stream and i was like honestly immensely impressed like you're going through your chat and someone asked well why don't you play to k- josh progress i don't wanna fricken sing about basketball when i'm linda exam lake con constantly flooding about getting traded or about you know we'll wedge did you learn you know whatever basketball basketball you're like look as something else exactly and there's nothing wrong with it josh heart the human being asked me about about me that there's a reason why like and you and you stream so you know i you know and we can talk a little more about it but you know i love playing video games so one i'm competitive so it kind of helps that competitive aspect of it but to no i gotta find something that helps me get away from from basketball from up by like people don't understand people are saying they're like all you play video games too much you do this you do does you did this but so i i said this to one person on twitter i said okay do me a favor go you know go working nine to five when you're done you're ninety five go home when you go home continue working until oh eleven twelve o'clock go to sleep wake up eight thirty gordy nine to five and do that every single day that's what people from us so so you and you're doing it i know i need to get a break i got one i got to do this i gotta do this mr same thing with us like i can't sit there no no matter who it is and you know i don't care if it's jordan colby whatever you still have the have avenues where you have an escape gate and you have things to do not revolve around your profession could if you do that every second of the day it just mentally draining physically is draining so i never understand this i when people sit there oh you know just just play basketball just do this do you do this too much you have ever you have another hobby that you do way too much bro at the end of the day i'm a professional athlete but that's not who i am you know i am a regular person who likes playing video games like watching the office who loves games of thrones who loves dogs like who who do all these things and it's like those kind the people like even like meyer said it's like we're probably as regular as regular people get you know what i mean like we love doing this disappoint i love watching forties and fire i i love watching animal documentaries on netflix that's why people even like regular nerd practice habits good playing basketball i guess what it is all my socials basketball is what i do it's who you are and that's what i feel like no brown on did a great job will uninterrupted and you know the more than ad lib movement but as i s something as real and not at least at the end of the day where regular people who have different interests and we just happen to be good at one you know i don't wanna say having to be good we have to be really good at it just one specific thing that you know we love and you know we can make a living off of but at the end of the day you know no matter who it is we're not just baffled by greg people who you know love to have fun love to have you know having to escape of our you you know our job and no those kind of things so that's what people don't really realize and you know it's it's sad to see at tom 'cause i people really go on social media or tweets or whatever it is and just just atrocious to talk shows and it's like a lot of time do say something and then like some would say on me and i'll call him out on it and then i i'll look randomly like i have like a democrat messing person like they say like some wild stuff and they'd black y'all man i was just trying to get you know it's like a killing i was trying to get like seen by you like bro not the way to do it you know what i mean but especially with video games it's like say you're cranking out a stream at one AM it's like would you rather me be in the club like what you know what i mean right bro i'm in LA there's anything you want like whatever you go look for whether it's girls clubs whether it's you know fame blogs like no matter what but what would you like there's an either or but it's like i'm sitting home playing video games at one o'clock i could be ten shots end of nineteen forty two which would be way more detrimental to my body then playing video games so it's like y'all we all are really talking about me playing a video game got like twenty four seven oh yeah they were i wanna talk about that because we and some of the research we're doing you know when you were going through our issue in your inflammatory issues you you learn that pretty quickly it's like you know kids growing up think that the more you work out the better if you know if there's hours of your spending not working out that's when you could be getting better you learn the hard way that the you get better in the kitchen and an in bed with your s fascinating and your recovery so talk about that process of of realizing that and how you change your behavior going forward no question will say this for any young listeners or the parents that are listening do not specialize your kid in one sport at a young age donde you wanna be athletic and you wanted to be good at sports you want to be good at listening to a coach understanding how to play on a team all those things what plausible sports they can figure it out later but yeah as i mentioned earlier being a true professional at something i have to do i and i literally just had tell myself after sleeping seven hours versus getting my eight to nine i didn't feel good in my work and i was not happy with myself but i knew then the next night i would get my sleep and everything but sleep is immensely immensely immensely important for any athlete anyone who says like all i don't really need slim is going to catch up with the eventually okay mister tough guy good job so sleep super important i always say cut his in the kitchen it is like some people are blessed in like you can get away with it for a while but i was just talking to actually miami strength conditioning coach because obviously i'm making this transition and he was like you guys can get away with it at a young age but eventually it really does catch up to no matter who you are near it is a matter if you're like last guy on the bench or superstar eventually it's going to catch up to so diet and nutrition sleep keep recovery so i like josh jackson i'll just expand on that a little bit more recovered from me technically is kind of play video like literally committee allows me to get away from this crazy lifestyle i'm living like people understand what it's like some people do because their performance but to walk onto that basketball for and to engage as much as we have to and performance such a level on a night tonight basis is it is it is emotionally mentally physically all that draining so for us to have that outlet to sit there whether it's enjoying reading chat or just simply playing playing video games or whatever it is honestly a big thing for me was also been able to play with my buddies that was like our new way of communication yeah can facetime me i can call you on the phone but it was fun you know like that is just like old times getting hopping on like modern warfare two and light slain out with your buddies you know it's just like a pastime of mine that just allowed me remind myself myself like being a kid in in like disengaging from this NBA like macho man always on red alert like not possible so like gaming was was a good escape from me not not only to just mentally get away but also be off my feet and then what else i i mean i do a lot of cryotherapy bodywork osteopaths to make sure i'm all aligned i mean everything is is literally scheduled out for me pretty much all throughout throughout the summer it's just that important of recovery aspect i think it's just a push push yourself for those like like listening hopefully i'm your favorite player or myers is your player but you know obviously yeah at least your favorite podcast oh but but now a lot of people that fair players bron steph you know russell westbrook you know you can just go down like whatever why why do you think these guys go to final after finals they played late make deep playoff runs why do you think this summer though what the the what is the wind china the cup the fiba world cup or whatever it is you have superstars not plane because they've made deep runs into the playoffs you know and now it's like i need my body to rest and this is this this isn't like now obviously the final by far the biggest thing for for any basketball player it doesn't matter what it is but next to that i represent the US so you know the USA i get to represent my country in no somewhere else am play on a world stage i guess you know a lot of kids dreamed but for guys like you know what i can't do this i need rest i needed take notice take a.

"Riding and see twenty like your fav- Instagram thought on this airplane tried to go to the bathroom, and first class light attendant reminded me Twas for premium first class. Passengers only in blocked the door back to the ghetto. I went line was long as how humble yourself airplane lands at the same time standing is CJ McCollum bright about this. You should he be able to go up the first class. Why isn't a first class private jet in the first place is beyond me? But stairs exude CJ McCollum in the back of the plane be able to go up and use the first class bathroom. I say, yes, my inclination would be yes. But. I think if we let one version road, twenty then what's to stop every single person from using that, that you have CGI. I wasn't really upset about blocking the door. I was upset that there was a line in the back of the plate. It had to wait in for ten minutes. Jeez. And I normally would fly first class, but I'm a last minute type of person. And I need to get the New Yorker. Hurry. And it was only seen it was that or ability. So I took the exit row in the recorder, you know, it was a good three hundred and seventy dollars well-spent. Boy, did anyone recognize you on that point. Yes. Absolutely. Actually, like a team. I think it was a girls basketball across one of those types of teams traveling. There is a lot of passengers who have United kind of confused. Like, why, why? Why are you sitting in the twentieth row? Man. What are you doing here? Why is he in on three for boarding? Now, if you're a first class at someone comes from Rhode twenty to use your bathroom up certain, you're okay with that. Of course you are. Yeah. I mean, honestly, as long as it's not like a crazy, deuce band, dropping as changed, Malcolm front. I don't mind it. Right. That's problematic static producers. Attic, diversify law flight who who on your team. Or who have you played with that is most likely just to tear up an airplane, bathroom crazy dues? Yeah. I'm going. Who are you going with a lot nurture cantor? For sure. Oh, It it is. is too good. Watch. Yes. Yes. Larry's what before you give you answer. I was gonna go. I want to say Jake layman, but I think Jake's to go or Meyers Leonard. But both those guys are pretty to do that, if you know what I mean. Agree. I don't I don't know who would Lipik somebody, they'd be where whenever I last life, because it was unbelievable. There couldn't believe it. It might have been scou-. I think I've lame scou- because he was the one that wanted about before me. He says before. I'm not sure it might have been scou- but. Oh I anyone is equally. Table of doing serious damage is about. Maybe we wanna fifty guys, okay? So you've done it is what you're saying. No. I haven't underplaying. Recreating before, before it's time to go to the hotel or home. Wait. So how do you get to that? Like, what if you can't take me through that routine if you get quick? Everyday. I mean historically honestly historically, like if I'm in the airport, I will use the bathroom in the airport before we take off. And if I'm flying we flying private with a team, you just use the bathroom before you leave the arena or before you leave your home. And you talking about six years now. I mean I definitely did in this season for sure out of six seasons. Maybe twice. But I don't think I have honestly because it's I have it down to a science pre rapper toilet perfectly. But if it's in the airport, and you got to always say, I used to take a picture of the rap job and say, trustees play Drake song rapid. Rapid information for the listeners and always not know there's never enough information. I regret actually talking basketball with you. I only want to talk about Dayton number twos. And airplane at again, that's it. This is tremendous what else stands at. Ask them, you have airplane etiquette. Questions. Esca we have an expert on the line right now. Yeah. See, I got to know what people are doing as soon as the airplane lands at taxis. The seatbelt, sign goes.

"Then Meyers Leonard had the night of his life Dame CJ loosen up a little bit. And they make plays. But today, we know forty eight fifty three minutes whatever it takes. You know, there's still time for us to leave our imprint on a gain. Now, we never lose your composure panic at all. It's just gotta buckle down and played a full game. What it took on Monday as the warriors win. It sweep the series in advance of the NBA finals. Steph curry triple-double drape, Ron green triple double for a second consecutive game. First warriors player in history to record a triple double in consecutive games. Warriors also the first team in the last twenty seasons to come back from fifteen or more down to win three straight playoff games. The game was here on ESPN radio guys that record side for ESPN radio at Amine and John berry what a game in the clincher game for Golden State comes in with a three zero series lead. They trailed by seventeen in game two in one by eighteen in game three and one they trailed by seventeen late in the third quarter. Here they come all the way back in the fourth. They force in overtime, and they win it in overtime one nineteen to one seventeen and for a fifth consecutive season. The Golden State Warriors are headed to the NBA. It's an amazing group. It's one of the great runs in the history of the NBA, regardless of any wants to admit that fact in today's day and age to be will be this dominant. I believe that could be getting five championships in a row of Draymond green, didn't get suspended a few years back chirp. It's incredible. What they've been able to do what Steve Kerr and his staff the culture that's been created of guys that don't get a chance to play all season long or playing in the Western Conference final close out games, Jordan. Bell starts tonight. Mckinney, Affonso McKinney. A huge impact Andrew bogut who they bring back from down under a couple of months ago who who would have thought that they would have needed him like they needed him, every single guy contribute to this group, and it's incredible able answer, the belt win it when you're behind it. And you know that you have to start making plays. They do Steph curry incredible. Averages over thirty five in the series triple double the night, while dream on green two triple doubles in a row in games, three and four it's it's. Insatiable group and boy, I'd hate to be Milwaukee Toronto, you're gonna bring back health healthy. Kevin Durant potentially with rest. Maybe DeMarcus cousins, possibly the Marcus cousins. Andrea who did not play tonight with a calf injury. He'll be available and think about the confidence level of his group. Yeah. You're doing this and Klay Thompson goes seven for twenty one tonight. He didn't shoot the ball very well in the whole series forty-two percent from the floor thirty four percent from for an you win. Four straight, you get by the Houston Rockets in game six at a lot of people didn't give you the chance. This is the Brooks KEPCO of the NBA. Wow. That's great convinces, disrespected group, for some reason, I don't know why world champions three times in the last four years in about two before incredible incredible stuff. A four zero sweep they win game four in overtime. And they win the last three games having come back from seventeen eighteen and seventeen down. They do it without Kevin Durant without DeMarcus cousins and without Andrea dollar in the. Clincher Steph curry and Draymond green become the first teammates. NBA playoff history to each post a triple double in the same game. Part of thirty seven point night for Steph curry as he leads the warriors to a one nineteen one seventeen overtime win in game four over Portland to sweep the series and for a fifth straight year head to the NBA finals for John Kerry, Adam Amine, right here on your home for the NBA finals ESPN radio and the ESPN app. Speaking of the number five and a postseason sweep the blazers become the fifth team in NBA playoff history to be swept in three consecutive postseasons. Their coach Terry Stotts hats off to Golden State. They're they've shown how, how good they are championship pedigree. We played three really good games and couldn't get over the hump. But I think is more of a demonstration of, of how good they are. And how good they've been over the years, and they find ways to win so disappointing loss, but. It was for me. Outstanding season with the guys in the locker room special, and it's it's been a special season. It's always tough to lose the last year, but I couldn't be more proud of the group that we've had they have a confidence about them. They, they feel like they're never out of a game, and they had the experience and they've done it before. So mean Draymond green hitting three. I mean that's he dream on carried them in game three last game you know, with his with his energy and his spirit defensively, they're experienced, they know how to make things difficult for for opponents. They help and they help each other. They passed they trust each other. I think it's when they have been rewarded year after year after year with that style of play. There's a reason to trust it. "Meyers Leonard had the night of his life. David CJ loosened a little bit, and they may plays. But today, we know forty eight fifty three minutes whatever it takes. You know there's still time for us to leave our input on a game. Now, we never lose Yar composer paying at office. Got a buckle down and played a full game fifty three hundred took on Monday as the warriors win. It sweep the series in advance of the NBA finals. Steph curry triple-double, drink Ron green triple double for a second consecutive game. First warriors player in history to record a triple double in consecutive games. Warriors also the first team in the last twenty seasons to come back from fifteen or more down to win three straight playoff games. The game was here on ESPN radio. The guys that record side for ESPN radio at Amine and John berry what a game in the clincher game for Golden State comes in with a three zero series lead. They trailed by seventeen in game two in one by eighteen in game three and one they trailed by seventeen late in the third quarter. Here they come all the way back in the fourth. They force in overtime. And they win it at overtime one nineteen to one seventeen and for a fifth consecutive season. The Golden State Warriors are headed to the NBA. It's an amazing group. It's one of the great runs in the history of the NBA, regardless of any wants to admit that fact in today's day and age to be will be this dominant. I believe that could be getting five championships in a row. Draymond green didn't get suspended a few years back. It's incredible. What they've been able to do what Steve Kerr and his staff the culture that's been created of guys that don't get a chance to play all season long or playing in the Western Conference, final closeout games, Jordan. Bell starts tonight. Mckinney, Affonso McKinney. A huge impact Andrew bogut who they bring back from down under a couple of months ago who who would have thought that they would have needed him like they needed him, every single guy contributes to this group. And it's incredible able answer the belt win it when you're behind it. And you know that you have to start making plays. They do Steph curry incredible. Averages over thirty five in the series, triple double the night, while Draymond green two triple doubles in a row in games, three and four it's it's. Concessional group and boy, I'd hate to be Milwaukee Toronto, you're gonna bring back health healthy. Kevin Durant potentially with rest. Maybe DeMarcus cousins possibly DeMarcus cousins. Andrea who did not play tonight with a calf injury. He'll be available and think about the confidence level of his group. Yeah. You're doing this and clear. Thompson seven for twenty one tonight he didn't shoot the ball very well in the whole series forty-two percent from the floor thirty four percent from three and you win four straight. You get by the Houston Rockets in game six at a lot of people didn't give you the chance. This is the Brooks KEPCO of the MBA. Wow. That's a great. This is disrespected group for some reason. I don't know why world champions three times in the last four years in about two before incredible incredible stuff. A four zero sweep they win game four in overtime. And they win the last three games having come back from seventeen eighteen and seventeen down. They do it without Kevin Durant without DeMarcus cousins and without Andrea dollar in the. Clincher Steph curry and dream on green become the first teammates, NBA playoff history to each post a triple double in the same game part of a thirty seven point night for Steph curry as he leads the warriors to a one nineteen one seventeen overtime win in game four over Portland to sweep the series and for a fifth straight year head to the NBA finals for John berry, Adam eat right here on your home for the NBA finals ESPN radio and the ESPN app. Speaking of the number five and a postseason sweep the blazers become the fifth team NBA playoff history to be swept in three consecutive postseasons. Their coach Terry Stotts hats off to Golden State. They're they're showing how, how good they are championship pedigree. We played them three really good games and couldn't get over the hump. But I think it was more of a demonstration of, of how good they are. And how good they've been over the years, and they find ways to win so disappointing loss, but. It was for me as an outstanding season with the guys in the locker room special, and it's it's been a special season. "Good minutes, even go again out there just hold his own. And they. Yeah, they're just they're locked in. And this last night felt a little bit like a microcosm of their whole season, right? Like the fits and starts not playing warrior basketball too many losses bunch together. When are they going to figure it out and then admittedly, so last night, they kinda slept walked the first half a bunch of turnovers led to Portland points? Blazers built that big league getting basically no point Damian Lillard, non. He was doing other things but Lillard not scoring would make you think that they couldn't be up on the road in Golden State by double figures. But there they were and something at halftime reminded, Golden State, we might wanna pay attention and try a little bit harder. And that's third quarter. Again, was just funeral thirty nine point the intensity on defense. Nothing was easy for Portland. They were vulnerable guys in their face. They were rushing shots forcing shots contested shots. And then they just made them. I think he carried over to defense where they were forgetting assignments, forgetting rotations a step slow getting beat down the floor and golden. State was just flying. Well and and Lillard is up played well as late now well enough. I mean that what they're going to need from him. Well game seven against Denver. When you compare him to McCollum just didn't. And they need more from him moving forward here Portland as a team overall did not play well in game one and they were much better in game two but they need more from Damian Lillard moving forward and everything that you just mentioned Andrew's dead on correct. I mean if you stay up late last night, we were watching the warriors play. I mean that third quarter should strike fear in the heart of any team here Portland the rest of the way down two games on by the way in Western Conference finals history in the NBA teams that go up to in their respective series. Have won ninety one percent of those series. That's stupid throw a like, oh, just just protecting home court. Because now you had to beat the beat those warriors now four out of five. If you're Portland, which is difficult to imagine. Right, which is difficult division Portland's gotta tell one game at Tom. We'd go back home to Portland. Let's win game three. Let's see if we, can we, let's see we can put a little fear into the heart of the Golden State Warriors, which the Houston Rockets did for basically nanosecond after the Kevin Durant injury. And then the warriors basically looked at themselves and say, we're good enough to do this without him, especially against this rocket team. And they did just that. But that's why you know, I looked at this series and even though Portland and I thought the blazers were play a much better game going into the game last night. And they did. That's the game for Portland. That, that's a long flight back home to work in. Yeah. That's, that's a long that's a long game film to roll through for starts at a staff. And for those players if they're not able to compartmentalize move on because after game they should have one when, when you're getting, when, when Steph curry, is hitting a big three for you late to give you the lead. You've gotta find a way. That's why Meyers Leonard and Mars Leonard had a thirty footer. You've gotta find a way to win that basketball game very similar when you look at Toronto now Toronto, I've more confidence in making this a lengthy series. Yeah. I had that discussion yesterday. I thought Portland would play better last night. I didn't think it was the game would go the way that it went when I envision game, too, and I thought for when they had a fifteen point lead at half when they answered the warriors charge and had an eight point lead with under five minutes ago and regulation. I'll Portland was actually gonna win the game outright until they didn't finish the warriors did. Yeah. It was. It was impressive. When they get back up with four twenty last, I don't know that I thought they were going to win, but I remember going like this was at least they've answered this now that game could have just completely stayed in the warriors direction all the way through the second half. So for them to show the fight there to get back in it, and get back on top. But have somewhat of a cushion was definitely impressive. But go to Lillard. He didn't score for the last seven forty two problem. And he he's at the point. Now, you know, he's an elite player these tire over these worn down. It can't be doing that. And you just got to find a way to score. Get yourself for the free throw line. I thought you know, he I know he complained about the last sequence, but I actually thought it was good defense and defense. I thought it was a terrible offense upset, and I thought he actually did more initiative, he hooked Igwe dollars arm. I and that Legua dollar to kind of, like rip it free, if there was anything going on. So I thought that was a good no call. He's, he's just gotta find a way early on when he was scoring with setting guys up and they just they went one for nine to close couldn't rebound either. It just they survived the third quarter rally and then fell apart in the final hundred second. Right. And that's the problem. And you mentioned in terms I thought it was a bad offensive set late down three aware dollar gets the steel and Pessoa off the curry, and then he throws it into the air and the game. I thought I thought that was a bad offenses sent. The one thing that the NBA needs to make an adjustment. I know it's difficult that we've talked about the non call on harden early in that series against the Golden State Warriors, and the rockets were complaining and. Put together you know investigating last year's game seven of the Western Conference finals. But I his one thing, the NBA needs to adjust is the three point shooter that jumps into the defender. That's one thing that's gotta end or you've got to be consistent calling it because there was one where Lillard Lillard was attempting at three defender went straight up in the air. He went into the player to try and draw contact. There was no foul. But if I bring up, the example earlier on, I think it was the third quarter. Same thing happened with Steph curry, and he got the foul call. So you've got to be consistent in terms of the NBA, and I hate that if I'm a defender bogus, and I go straight up in the air and you try to me, and you come into me, and you initiate, contact that can't be foul on me. That's just can't be a foul me. And you see the time and time again, especially on the three point shot three point line. Because you're seeing guys do the ball fake to get the defender up in the air. And when they do that, then. All the sudden jumping into the defender that to me is different. And it it it is technically a smart play by the offense of play. But it is it is amazing to me, how many almost like design sequences are to draw foul, which I think is kind of what the rockets problem was as a whole in the last round is if they were almost trying too hard to draw contact like just go score the ball, we get fouled green, don't necessarily seek the contact and let the referee's not make a call that you think you're supposed to get there. And I think that's the trap teams can fall into and kind of not themselves of rhythm and hurt them in the long term. And I thought that was that's still my head from the rockets that at times, they try to hard, they're, they're either planets and get fouled not to make the hoop. And that to me is not necessarily your best option or acted the game two of the Western Conference finals last night, that went the warriors way one fourteen to one.

"I I thought it was so interesting in the second half when cantor is out in in game two that it took Meyers Leonard checking into the game for them to really try and go to Steven Adams a bunch. That's not that. Leonard is some superstar defender, but he's better. I think objectively better than in his canter yet. It took. It was really weird for me that they that. They haven't looked for Kanter and look to attack canton because of that Cantor's had this has had a confidence and has really been able to be a dominant factor on the offensive end. They haven't done anything to neutralize him. And because of that like as weird as it sounds the blazers haven't really missed use of Nur kitchen the series. So I don't they gotta wake up and once they're back in Oklahoma City, find a way to punish Kanter. Because then I think maybe that can get the blazers to take him off the foursome. And then they're forced to play Zach Collins, or or Leonard more who are much lesser offensive threats like, yeah. That that seems like it would be one to one in the in the coaches meeting like all, right? Here's our opportunity. Let's do it. And they did it the first couple possessions like of the of game one and you're like, okay. This is gonna be this is going to be problematic like Stephen Adams is going to eat in the series. And then they just kind of went back into their. Okay. See ways where they're overly reliant on Russ to get up a million shots. And then they want PG to do something. And he's not himself. Like you need. He need to start attacking the weaknesses of the blazes. Because just the some of the Oklahoma city's parts is not is not a dynamic. I don't know. It's dynamic team at this point in Greg. Typically, I would want to try to get like three or four or five them in on a series book for okay, see, I really think it is all about how they're deploying atoms. Both office the physically they and I just talked about attacking cancer with Adams wonderful do that. But on defense the scheme the Oakland city plays all the time. It's pretty easy to get see them as away from the basket when you have dynamic guard slake Dame CJ they're going to require attention at the point of the ball screen, and that opens up really Kanter to be able to do what he does best is to eat on the office of glass. So it's just strange to me that Billy Donovan's not adjusting the scheme conceiving. Way better player in his canter. But the the scheme is really opened things up for king to not be able to make an impact. And we're Kanter to Pratima Pratima thought. thought they could impact and for cancer to do what he does best. He's in change guys. Interesting because the name of the game in the NBA, especially in the postseason is try to get the switch you want in the one thing that that loses without a hell of atoms. His great player, but he doesn't give outside shot. So you can sack under the pick and roll on. You don't have to switch if you don't want to. And it's the same thing Utah struggles with with Ruediger bearish. You don't have to you don't have to respect his shot, even twelve empty basket. So you can sack under the you don't have to give up the switch when the opposing team is trying to get a switch because ideally, but you like to do with force to switch in end up with Paul chores going this or even Westbrook going in his cancer or something like that. But there's no reason for them not to work through Stephen Adams. There's no reason not to try to get cantor in foul. Trouble on there's a reason why brought Kanter end because Meyers Leonard, and that Collins, are you? You know or not bad players, but they're not playoff-caliber players in. I would be doing what I could to one. Let's see that was a little bit and try to get into scheduling Cepal trouble in then then the he's in foul trouble..

"Meyers leonard is kind of in a category on his own i'm not really going to touch that one but you know if you're going to be reliant on him to be the kind of peace that he seems to think that he is insurances overall ability and talent and i think he has good reason based on last season to think of himself in now way he just has to play smarter in in a bunch of different respects and we haven't really seen that so far this young season he certainly moving very well i think overall the things that you liked about his game or still pretty much there but you know the playmaking has dropped off a little bit the decision making is still pretty suspect you know he's a strong player but i think if you're expecting to jump up and be kind of like a fringe allstar then that's probably a little bit of misplaced confidence year let's say that let's say that everyone's healthy going into the first round of the playoffs which what a fantastical world this would be let's start the season look they everyone's healthy in the west going into the playoffs is there a matchup that you think portland could actually get the upset victory in the series because i'm kinda leaning towards okc which which i think we'll probably look very stupid at some point not but i think they will take down okc but i i kind of love the way that they would attack that um you know you have alfred amino to to put on your either melo or or paul george you can throw evan turner on one of those guys and maybe tricked them into taking some some heat checks against him of ulimo heartless can do some can do some defensive work i you know roberson is a great defender obviously but him trend to check someone like cj is a little tricky you know or westbrook than having to check cj zyl is a little tricky and then it's you get down to our if nurkic can be you know even seventy five percent of what he thinks he's freighter or what he thinks he should be against even adams like that's kind of a fascinating match up to me.
