"Right here. Let's back. He's looking stepping up. He's psyched for a safety. He didn't throw on the way. Meryl Reese, my quick 94 wi PE. That's just inexcusable. It's disaster. But Doug Peterson said he never thought about benching wins for Jalen Hurts in the Cleveland rain, Despite the repeated issues where the game was going in the elements and we were just, you know, really a score from Wouldn't ourselves back into this football game. I did not consider that when Snow's the benching questions have come in, there's gonna ask whatever questions you want, bring up whatever you want, and for me, I'm just gonna put my head down go to work, and Peterson said Wentz will start next Monday night against the Seahawks. I think you're you're sending the wrong message to your football team that the season's over and And that's that's a bad message. Well in Carson Wentz had 14 interceptions as a rookie. So this matches his career worst. He had only seven last year. So now he has doubled that in the Eagles will at least briefly lose first place in the very bad NFC East to whoever wins the Dallas Washington game on Thanksgiving. All right, Dave, Thanks. "There was a great connection between those two guys went and hurts. On if if some people have critics and I disagreed with the critics, But if critics said anything, it's that Wentz relied on hurts too much. What do you see? This year? I see a combination of things. I see. No doubt, daughter. I see Earth with more responsibilities in line. I see not as many weapons around Zac's defense's could take him out. I see an odd and certainly saw last week and odd. Opportunities to get the Balzac and Carson missed him. And usually that never happened. And that could be a product of Carson feeling a bit harried in the offensive line, Not being there and then you look back. Maybe a little frustrated by all this so I want to make sure that Eagles find a way to get him free. Now again, if your defense fortunately, Travis Logan has stepped up, and hopefully that continues, and that makes open things up, Zach, but In general, if your game planning for the Eagles Passing game. You're taking out Zach Ertz, and you're trying to take Miles Sanders out of the passing game, which has also happened? Yeah, and so that you know, Defense's aren't stupid and they're taking back away. Look, he still works. Hardy. I thinkyou runs as well that he's always running, not particular. Everybody seems to run as well as he's run it. I think it is a combination of all that, but it's really more of a reflection on offense. It just has not been in. Think Ross again about 15 seconds. You want to add something. I really don't know what's going on. To be honest with you, Glen. That's one of the most puzzling things this year isn't necessarily his numbers, but that he and went don't appear to be on the same page. I don't think there's a very good explanation for that. Yeah, well, get into Maura's This show goes on. We're until one o'clock today. Leading right up to kickoff. Eagles Ravens Meryl Reese, my quick on the call. "Those winds firing and it is ray our pal Meryl Reese's pleasure is palpable there yeah and you know that's his guide that's the play eagles come back last week and win in a game where for the second week in a row and all too often in to perform early half to storm back and win in lieu Wensley them on a couple of great second half drive for the win good morning everybody it is a Saturday more the the Saturday morning before the day of all meaning here in the Delaware Valley with rated drunk when mac now we're Delaware park racetrack and casino where by the way we're until twelve thirty today and we are going to stick around after the show raise got his eagles encyclopedia I got my new book of Philadelphia sports list several of Big Daddy Graham we're going to be signing in selling to take air care of all of your holiday needs will get in and out later because ray we got to start with five questions for ray tomorrow is the day it's the only day that ever matters it's the game the only game the big game eagles win they have a clear path to the playoffs easel even eagles lose rainy season is over misery hits the Delaware Valley right before the holiday season yeah we don't want that we do not want that so here's your five questions question number one rate you believe all the holy on deck Prescott is it going to be impacted he got hurt in the game last week I saw that play and watched his performance after that play clearly he was dramatically affected he was on the injury report they took him off yesterday we don't know what is the rate didn't your instincts say certain you Sir and he's going to you know his name is not going to he's not gonna sit this one out not not at this time of the year not with everything that's in play but yeah I mean he's hurt I mean it's got it's got multiple injuries I mean he's got that he's got a sprained wrist and he's got a shoulder injury and he has this injury was passing hand that is either depending on who you talk to with either a it's either a bruise or a hairline fracture so yeah I mean he's got multiple and he's got multiple injuries it is in in the area where you gotta throw football so yeah he's not I mean I never thought he was going to sit this one out they're gonna do everything we can to get him on the field but I mean it's if the fact of the matter is he really hasn't thrown a ball pretty much all week in practice and and you'll just they'll just tape it up shoot it up but it really got to do they'll be out there but it's going to be out there way less on a percent that he took in the rams game but but from clay Matthews laid the first half right after that he threw only seven passes in the second half of the game they didn't have to right I mean they're running down the road they're crushing with yellow knack of running back at a hundred yards as well so I'm the you know I'm putting that in is as part of the circumstance but of the seven passes he threw four of them were behind the line of scrimmage right so again circumstances dictated he didn't have to but he didn't throw the ball we'll see how that plays out in that could be a huge factor more well when you consider how many big plays the eagles have given up in the passing game this year how many thirty yard plus forty yard plus the art plus passes if you can't push the ball down the field and if you're the eagles are pretty happy about you are very happy about that let's look at another aspect of this thing we we all agree I think any any honest van agrees the cowboys have more talent than the eagles in terms of just there because their roster in somehow Dallas is seven and seven Dallas but we as a ninety point differential in point score but they're still seven seven the eagles are seven and seven right actually I don't know the few weeks of the years had a negative path point differentials probably even a couple points but anyway what we do know what we do believe is that the eagles have a superior head coach does it help the eagles tomorrow at the guys on Dallas look over at the sidelines see their head coach Jason Garrett and think one or both of these two things one is I got we got a boob there uhhuh and two is you know he's probably not coming back next year and I don't know how that impacts me uhhuh factor could be I I think it's on a case to case basis I think some guys probably looking to feel that way and I think there are probably some other guys are just going to play to the occasion they're just going to recognize look there's a big game I know our coach maybe here maybe not be here but that's beside the point we just got to go out and play I don't I don't know how many folks saw the the locker room speech that that Jason Garrett gave the team after the after the win over the rams last week that was up on YouTube was the was his talk to the team immediately after the game right ginger looking to you to whom I do once in awhile I'm very impressed ray like it you well the the the red hat the redheaded head coach genius is the red a genius got up there and told the team that today that what we did was we got back to our DNA we got back to playing cowboys football were tough where physical we you know and I'm I'm looking I think and okay where was that the first fourteen pieces yeah these it yeah why did it take you to this time to the to remember what your DNA was I mean that's sort of an indictment of you as a coach in it but that's beside the point of yeah I think that the if it comes and no matter how the players perceive Jason Garrett and I can't imagine they have a whole lot of respect for me at this point they I think it's pretty clear that the the eagles if you're if you're doing the match ups down the board I I would think the eagles you give you the eagles a big check ahead code all right question number that was at two three that was two to three here we go we know what we just played the game winning touchdown against the Washington's last week course and went springs and back second week in a row now let's be honest he played terribly in the first half of both of those games he's had a real problem holding on to the ball but how important do you think those fourth quarter comebacks in the last two weeks are in terms of Carson Wentz moving forward and may be regaining the status yet a few years ago is in a league young quarterback in this league very important I think it's very important in back to back games he he did what you want a great quarterback to do what he did what you want your franchise quarterback to do which is in the fourth quarter when the games there to be one he won it and did it you know with with tremendous efficiency I mean you took the team the length of the field in a couple situations made every throw what was eleven for eleven or twelve for twelve yeah right now yeah so I mean at the end in games were really going to either either keep your season alive or blood expire and it's all right there and he's playing with a lot of guys were back up guys in practice what guys you know he was able to drive the team down the field and put the ball in the end zone we had to do it and I think to do that consecutively since you know we can talk all we want about the giants and Redskins and the fact that they're not very good teams and I'm not going to argue that point but the fact is that they were up against it two weeks in a row and he can't he blade you back and won those games so I think it means a lot to him I think it means a lot to the team that are fit find themselves in that situation the second if you don't be trailing the cowboys but if you find yourself in a situation where you're down in the second half at least you have that knowledge that Hey we've come back before we can do it again yeah I agree I agree question number for a denture the Pro Bowl players were announced this past week we'll go over the details of that in the eagles got there and later and Fletcher **** got in and that's good for him but Miley Spidey sense tells me that he got in really more by reputation and by his performance this year I think that would be the first guy no you certainly would not be the first guy and I think particularly at you know positions that are not yours statistically based skill positions that happens a lot and listen pledge Cox's had a terrific career but I don't think he's at a particularly good season he started he was injured I thought the middle the seasoning played very well I guess in the last I don't know what three games are so he has not been a factor in eight do you agree and be if you do agree do you have a good reason for that I do agree and I think he's I think he's played out I think you know he's beat up by you know I met with the injuries that had on the defensive line I mean he has had to play a ton of snaps I mean the last to the last two weeks he's had a plate ninety four percent your defense of snaps and that's not the way this that's not the way that this defense to set up and that's not the way most defenses in the NFL or set up now that everybody plays everybody relies on a rotating defensive line where guys play a certain portion of the game in your best players play more than the others but in this day and age there aren't that many guys are playing ninety four snaps and that's what you've asked Fletcher **** to do down the stretch here and you know you play ninety four snaps to take on a double team every single time the ball snapped one take a toll on and I mean seven I kinda disagreed on this point after the Redskins game last week seven bare bow said they thought that it what the **** they thought was a lack of effort on his part and I just think he's tired I just got a benefit I just got tired of his beat up yeah which given the number of plays he's plan I think that that's exactly right early in the season coming back from a foot surgery yeah he was he was slow he was off his game is not a factor right around the Green Bay game it'll take you started to get better and a place for plain really well and through the middle of the season I thought he played well the sack total wasn't what you normally would expect but I thought he was playing good good football but now I'd say the last three weeks maybe going on for weeks I'm seeing him to start to wear down but if they're gonna have any chance to beat the cowboys tomorrow they're gonna need they're gonna need vintage Fletcher **** there's no question about it and and I'm I'm let's listen Seth and bearable played the game I strongly respect their points of view but I would not suggest that Fletcher **** as a lack effort exhaustion can look like lack of back efforts sure that's what I all right real quick five because we go out we will move on to but we'll get into this more later markets Hayes what a compelling column this week for the Philadelphia Enquirer The Daily News I was gonna get a mom but then I heard he was he was on Angelus so like I don't need to get him on and he said this he said of Jim Schwartz and Corey onlin can't be Jason Garrett and dak Prescott and they haven't beaten over the years you know that the cowboys being morally this year the cowboys weapon last year the cowboys have done very well against the eagles both here and in Dallas I hate to say it if they can't then what's the point you fire them in hire somebody who can and I've always thought you know Jim Schwartz is a safe can save convey but if you're Ford's loses four games in two years the Dow boys maybe Jim Schwartz is job should be on the line your thoughts I don't agree I don't agree I I think that George is a good defensive coach I know you believe me I sit neck every Sunday I sit next to a guy who who is very exasperated with cheap Schwartz set the set is not a fan and we have that discussion back and forth you know I mean it's it's a philosophical thing I mean he's you know set is a is a you know he he came up under the buddy Ryan school which is we're going after the quarterback resent everything we got at the quarterback every single snap and that's diametrically opposed to what Jim Schwartz as Jim Schwartz place to the situation in the personality ads and a lot of times this year I understood what he was doing when his secondary when he was playing with in the Orlando standards of the world he did he didn't want to sell out on the blitz because he knew we didn't have anything anybody plan on the back and so he had a play conservative when he started to get some guys back later in the year he began to send more guys is blitz ratio went up over twenty percent which for him is high and they started to play well I mean they had a terrible game in Miami and which which she certainly admitted to but I think if you look at the points allowed over and not just this year but over the time is here I think the above allow the seven fewest points in the leg in his time here so as a defensive coordinator I really don't have a problem with a man I I I would be surprised if he was in any jeopardy I would be I would be surprised if he's any jeopardy but I think mark's makes a really good point in a results based business you have to beat the cowboys I mean I remind you cover Dick vermeil at the time I've talked to Dick vermeil over the years about you know he came into the whole point was we gotta be Dallas we got there they're in the head of the division we gotta be Dallas.

Eagles' DeSean Jackson reportedly to miss two weeks with an abdominal strain

"Eagles wide receivers DeSean Jackson is reportedly expected to miss a couple of more games and a wide W. stave you ram has more on that in a minute with Meryl day hi guys good morning yeah I got the voice of the eagles Meryl Reese with me he sponsored by Duncan good morning Meryl yesterday ESPN reported the Shawn Jackson is expected to miss two weeks with an abdominal strain we'll take it for what it is it's a report nothing official from the team but the birds are without Jackson over the next couple of games how did they handle that it's a difficult thing to handle because he is such an important part of the offense let's face it he turned the Washington game around with a book the big plays that he makes and there's nobody on that roster who can replace to Sean Jackson do the things that he can do now it's not that they're without a speed receiver they do have speed but the Shawn Jackson is almost in a class by himself but fortunately they do have depth in that area certainly Nelson AG lore has great speed they also have the depth but have hopefully Alshon Jeffery will be back we'll see about that and of course they are always strong at that position and they have they have J. J. R. thank a white so we saw a little bit of him but he's a different kind of receiver he's more of a possession type of receiver and we saw mac Collins play an increased role the other night so they have some depth the wide receiver but nobody who can really do what the Shawn Jackson does he have always been

"For that the great meryl reese longtime voice of the philadelphia eagles in my pal mike quick on that call so how exciting is that the eagles the under dog team never won a super bowl and guess what they finally win a super bowl and boy was in a big one of what a wild crazy game highest scoring game as far as yards were concerned insane forty one to thirty three i don't think this is exactly what everybody thought was going to happen in the game including myself i thought philadelphia was going to win but i do didn't think we'd see that much offense although i gave them credit for getting into the 30's and they ended up exceeding that since really really crazy the fumble finally happens with tom brady and then the eagle's even missed a twopoint conversion and with two 21 left to play seemed to have given brady way way way too much time but on the second play of that dr brandon graham that you heard there sacked radi knocked the ball loose so there you go and it really was just absolutely crazy so close so close because brady a give him too much time is going to come back you give him a nanosecond he can come back so nick folz the backup quarterback was the mvp he finishes with three hundred seventy three yards and three touchdowns just one interception he was again so much like a super bowl mvp he was in there because carson once the star of the show had a torn acl nzl in week four team so he had to take over the team people were so dejected thinking this guy couldn't do it and he soared he's sword in that role and he absolutely soared this team to victory he let loose right in the beginning and he certainly played like he owned the joint and that made a huge huge difference i think in what we saw happening maher so so crazy crazy wild to watch the super bowl somebody who grew up and you all know this i feel so fortunate to have lived in so.

"Voice of the philadelphia eagles meryl reese who's going to join us there'll be a few minutes from now got a lot to talk to him about but let's talk a little bit more about what seahawks have to do tonight to what watch for you guys gives throughout the seahawks you got a couple of games without richard sherman without without cam adjustments or you're seeing them making too france believes it just the next man up thing for the seahawks or the doing things to adjust in accommodate for those two guys be now well i i think you make some adjustments i think the adjustments are more the players that have come in again example i think you know maxwell lead played true kicked step the hour richard sherman does when he's up in jambi does more mirror and he's he's going to really try standing up old children not get beat i i think this eeoc to what they did get mcdougal in the offseason was brilliant at the time we were going okay that's nice he is a fantastic football player and there's a time where he said he's actually even better in some situation the cameras because he is such a good cover guy so when they do put their you know three wide receiver tight end package in there he he can move ride in and cover a slot and he could play a tight end he's good the right he's not cam on the run but he is very good the run so i think what they've done depth wise i you know we're a little different but i don't think we're changing anything from a scheme standpoint i think the other thing that pick adjust from that you make is the communication it just it's different like you've been playing with a guy for that long good example is an i'm sure earlde cam have that relationship but bobby and k j when you talk to those two guys they know how that one and others going to take take on a block and they know certain place so now all of a sudden you have to turn to bradley mcdougal and verbalize that because these guys have been playing together for so long not so much sure i'm just because corners are typically.

"Once comes packed would join the rate meryl reese of wip with the call jj i started eagles career with a bang and the eagle's brought the rocky mountain avalanche to its knees a fifty one 23 win mark carson wants threw for four more touchdowns he now has an nfl best 23 for the season he's got seventy in the last five games the fdp drumbeat of getting louder in the eagle's look like the team to beat in the nfc well the way that they're winning games right now is very reminiscent of dominant old nfc teams that were built to thrash opponents down the stretch and they have a deep in versatile backfield and let's start with carson wentz because what we saw today was a continuation of the high moments we seen this whole season where he is throwing a very good broncos defense offsides multiple times in the first half with his cadence his presnap reads the guy can make every type of throw he's aggressive he had a couple of throws today where he he threw a right into denver secondary and he put it right in the window early in the receiver could get it and it was just absolutely no let up and then so there they were so dominant there in the bite that will have time to get a halftime you then are allowed to take carson went essentially out of the game plan to some degree he's hitting the ball off to jaeger jyle to corey clement to look garrett blunt and they are all hammering denver's defense which is tired out by the second half and you get a fifty one to twenty three you scored 51 points on the denver broncos defense and not a single item about that it was a morale is their loves this eagles i do because they you know what there's a lot of sloppy football there's a lot of water down teams this is the opposite right now.
