"I pitch you one question by breaking into multiple parts. Oh man. So two of us so that gives us both an opportunity to go ahead. Yeah, look, I think I'm going to probably say someone here that Meredith will often refer to and we'll see whether she adds to someone else to the mix. But I think an industry leading restaurant right now is chipotle. And one of the reasons why I put them out there is a because they are operation in the back of house is set up to really optimize the operation for the food development part of it. But the rise of the chipotle is something that we often talk about because it's an ability where they're encouraging their guests to say you have to use our first party ordering platform, first of all. But when you do that, you can then drive through this lane and we will know it's you because of geofence and the like and we will be able to just pass over the bag into your car as soon as you arrive. That seamless level that frictionless level experience is amazing. So that clearly is a differentiator, not just to the smaller establishments, but many other larger establishments out there. So what can the smaller establishments do? Well, they should certainly think about first party frictionless ordering. How many steps does it take to order versus a marketplace? And secondly, how do you make that pick up experience as seamless as possible as well? Even the location of your pickup area. If you haven't got a pickup shelf at the front of your restaurant, area where your drivers know to come and collect the orders from. Find the ways to make those types of experiences easier because that will differentiate you for most.

"I'm gonna try to sneak in four stories in one minute, so start the clock. There's a big shake up going down on Grey's Anatomy. Ellen Pompeo is scaling back her role after 17 years as the lead. He news has learned that she'll only be appearing at 8 out of the 20 plus episodes of the upcoming season, which is season 19 for them. Now, she'll remain as the executive producer and her character Meredith will still be the narrator. Speaking of big moves, Days of Our Lives is ending its run on NBC after almost 60 years. The fans don't panic, new episodes will premiere exclusively on peacock starting September 12th. Now, you know what they say? Beauty is pain, just ask Kim K she posted this photo on Instagram after undergoing laser treatment to tighten her stomach. She says the treatment was painful, but worth it. Yikes. And congrats to Chrissy Teigen and John Legend, Chrissy took to Instagram to announce she's pregnant with their third child. Chrissy's been very open about undergoing IVF treatment, and she says she's feeling hopeful and amazing. And that's your Hollywood minute. Lonnie, now you know John, this is such great news for them. It's great news for me too 'cause I've got to be an auntie. Luna and miles are gonna be a new baby brother or baby girl, we don't know what it is, but I am so happy for Chrissy and Tom. Congratulations. John, not time. Okay. Live, yeah. It's time. He's watching this right now. Like, wait a minute. I know. I love you, John and Chrissy. Now, Kristin Cavallari is revealing why she ended her toxic marriage to Jay Cutler. Oh, she is letting it all out on a podcast called call her daddy. I was really unhappy. I mean, and that was the bottom line. And I was in an unhealthy relationship. And so that to me is not worth it. Also, I didn't want my kids thinking that that was normal and I wanted them to see me happy and see me eventually, not right now, but eventually see me with someone who really respects me. And treats me the way I need to be treated. I ended the or I called off the engagement the same reason I got a divorce. Same reason, I should say. And so I guess if there's any takeaway from that, is you can't ignore red flags. People don't change. And you gotta trust your gut. She also said it took her a few years to actually pull the trigger and in the marriage. Do you think people can ever truly change? Wow. So here's what I think about this. She said she saw the reasons why she canceled the engagement, but still went ahead with it and ultimately those are the same reasons why she wanted a divorce. So people can change if you see them putting actively the work in, just simply acknowledging it saying, I know I do this. I'm gonna do better, but they don't take steps to do it. No one's gonna have the same end result, you know? Absolutely. I think people can change. But you have to see it and when someone says, I'm sorry I made a mistake or I know that this or that that I do or that I did hurt you. It's never gonna happen again. Everybody deserves a second chance, and yes, people, especially before marriage, you know, things happen. But you know. But do you ignore it though? Because you said that there were kids. No. And you know, but sometimes, you know, when you have somebody like him, you know, who was, you know, popular. He's well-known. She's well known. You're trying to make it work. You will ignore those red flags. Yeah. And then in the end, and especially when you start having children, that's the thing is like, once you start having friends, you know, I'm just glad that she was able to get out of it because she said for her children. She didn't want her children to see that this is supposed to be a healthy relationship. Right. I agree with that. That's smart of her because that is important. But you know what I think when it comes to red flags, we never really pay attention to them. Ask your Friends. Because they're seeing all the red flags. And they will tell you. They won't be on things to not upset you. Right. We all have those friends who the minute you say to them, they're like, I didn't want to say nothing, but I thought that would just say something. But I'm the friend that'll ask a question. I won't come straight out. Yeah. I will ask you an example. So how do you feel about, you know, what he said to you? How does he make you feel? Oh. I'm not going to say he makes you feel bad or I see him. No, I'm going to ask you because I'm trying to pull. And wake my friends up. That's the true friend. And come back and say, oh, I'm fine with it. And you're like, okay. Okay. If you find what it, I'm fine. You know? You like it. I love it. You know? I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut in situations like that. Because I don't want to, I don't want to have to be that person who later on goes, well, you know, I was going to say something, but I didn't. I try to soften the blow, but always kind of put it out there. And it ultimately doesn't matter, you know, love blinds us all. Yeah. That's true. Well, you love and money, too. And he got money. Yeah. You were like, oh, I can put up with this for a couple more years. We like save your money, don't sit. Say go, buddy, okay. Up next, we got my sis tisha Campbell. She's here telling us all about her sexy new show. And she's on that with our very own Jay Rodriguez. What it does it take to truly uncouple. We gonna find out. Come on, T-shirt. Second notice on the liquor bill for Colin's party. Based on this, everyone there should have died of alcohol poisoning. He should really help you out with all that. Tell him

"Now you got a chip and playing it in your wrist and then you know he actually communicates to him and then the drivers show up and then the orders food on the go and the drone flies and drops off in his taxi. I was like, oh my God, where did that happen? I'm ready for that. So I love that chapter. I mean, it really made me like, oh my God, the possibilities are endless, really. Where we're going, what would you say in this bright different for each of you? What's the one chapter in your book that you say is a must read for every restaurant operating in 2022? If you had to pick one chapter, one child, okay? Well, I'll give a very functional practical answer. And it's a chapter that we really debated hard on as to whether we should write it. Because it's what I call the elephant in the room. And that is chapter 7, where we discuss the profitability of off premise and the whole idea of third parties and the fees and is it even worth it and really trying to just get into the nuts and bolts of it. And it's a chapter. And ashamedly that we have with a whole bunch of P and L statements. And we basically break it down. And we break it down to be able to demonstrate that actually when you look at this through a marginal profit lens, actually it starts to make more sense. And when you start to understand about building in your first party channel and looking to a convert customers that you perhaps acquired through a third party marketplace and brought them across to your own private channel, that's the way in which this will grow. And then, of course, the way in which you'll start to accumulate customer data and be able to have at your disposal and ability to market and create amazing guest experiences forevermore. So for us, that was a really important chapter, but it's one that certainly creates a level of debate too. Meredith will be your favorite chapter. Well, for me, yeah. For me, it's why pizza works. And I love that one. I love this chapter because pizza to me is a glimpse of the future. Pizza wasn't always the way that we experience it today. It didn't always come delivered in a box. There used to be a few of them out there, but that used to be a sit down red roof dine in Pizza Hut, right? And to see that shift from that old sit down dine in restaurant. Now today to it always comes delivery and how the business models change to enable that. I think is really telling of where the restaurant industry is likely to go. And you know, there's a lot of people in keeping with what Carl just said, a lot of restaurant people who say, oh, it's deliver stuff. It'll never be profitable, you know, the venture capitalists are subsidizing all these platforms and I hate it, and I wish it would just go away. And I point to domino. And I say, well, they're delivering they've been doing a lot. They make a lot of money. So if they do it, I think the rest of us can figure it out too. Yeah. I know, I know you mentioned like Pizza Hut in the book and stuff like that. And I remember, so again, a lot of our early memories are about food and when we were kids and stuff like that, and I remember going to Pizza Hut when I was a kid. I was like, that was like going to Ruth Chris nowadays, I go into an high end steakhouse, like when we were a kid, we're going to Pizza Hut. We were so excited, you know? It was like amazing, yeah. Yeah. I mean, those are good days, and stuff like that..

"Look home design. They may getting a new roof. Easy, Then 21. Now a just released long awaited report on school redistricting in Montgomery County gets the county nowhere close to settling any of the debates that have been spawned by the idea. The county is out with a nearly 200 page report that make some suggestions but gets into no specifics about exactly where to implement any of the changes that it recommends. Instead, it's only going to be used to begin discussions on the topic again later this fall. But the report argues, shifting boundaries that affect only 10% of the county would reduce overcrowding where that happens, fill empty seats and other schools and help the county achieve economic and racial diversity. In general, it would had less than a mile to each student's trip to school. It calls The current cluster set up where the same elementary and middle schools feed into the same high schools on impediments all that well, not really reducing distances to schools, either. Now that i'm talking about it but it's really just a lawsuit that will cost money at the right thing and lost and found you. She'll take a donation she also if you want to give her money for the things that she has found. You can do that as well you know. She's elected officials right exactly.
