"Their car. No doubt about it. But to me, it's not worth doing a 35 and below and the rubber gaskets. I would suspect that what When they freeze against the metal, you could be tearing up your door Gaskets exactly. Thank you, sir. Have we're We're gonna have a great day. You too, Ron. Thank you very much. All right. Bob is an Ellicott City. Hello there, Mr Bob. Good morning. God. Good morning, Kind. Um, listen, I'm in the market for an SUV. Okay? Or at least I thought I was until you saw the prices came across and Analogy. A six all rude, which is a station wagon, right? And I was wondering what your thoughts are on out. He's in general, and the three point no. The six that they have installed on that car. Well, the good news is there's really no bad cars out there like there used to be years ago. Ah, lot of good quality cars out there. But I'm going to tell you that the German cars, the German cars that Mercedes, Audi, BMW, and even Volkswagon, they need more loving care. Then a lot of the American and Japanese cars do and that loving care is extremely expensive. You're gonna be limited on the amount of people who could work on it. Like for example, the advertisers that we have working on the alleys would be star on a motive in Towson when you're in Ellicott City. There aren't too many places around you. That's strictly work on the German cars or know them really well, other than of course, the dealer and any time you're stuck using the deal, or only that's going to be something that's going to hurt your feelings on a regular basis. So it's not a car that I highly recommend. They're not bad cars, but when they do have issues, they have expensive issues, and that's something you have to be concerned about. I've always told by German car friends when you buy a German car. Be prepared to buy it again. And that means if you decide to keep a 10 to 15 years, you're probably gonna pay what you paid for in service. Already And then.

I saw list Tom of the top 10 vehicle makes That lead that that air defaulted on in loans, and I think seven of them were either Mercedes, Audi or BMW. So ah, lot of times. What people are doing or have done is reached for vehicles they can't afford. And then some kind of crisis like this just makes it unaffordable. In those circumstances, I wouldn't file a bankruptcy. You might need a bankruptcy, but I wouldn't file a bankruptcy to save a car. You probably should never have bought to begin with. "Over the next five years. Two hundred fifty billion dollars to develop more than two hundred electric cars. Two hundred different models. GM expects to sell one million electric cars by twenty twenty six. Volkswagen says it's going to have fifty electric models by twenty twenty-five BMW dozen Renault will have eight the International Energy Agency. She says thirty percent of all the cars in this country will be electric by twenty thirty by the way, where are you going to get your car charged? Oh, it's fine. Plug it in your garage, if you have one, but what if you're driving out of town, we're going to need thirty million public chargers. That's fifty times more than we have today. So guess what? Volkswagen Reseda vans, Ford BMW, they've all teamed up to build charging stations all across Europe. They're planning to do the same in the United States. Volkswagen says they're going to spend two billion dollars building charging stations in the US Porsche is working with BMW and Siemens to develop ultrafast charging because right now, it can take an hour or more to charge your car. "Up to the North American International auto show here in Detroit on the kind of impact it as WJR's to Cape talks with Jason Stein. The publisher of automotive news about the New York auto show. Well, New York is the last number of years has really risen to the top of the auto show pile to some extent, at least on a global basis, it has attracted the really the luxury brands when you look at Mercedes Audi Porsche, and then also some North American brands who really want to compete against those other brands the Lincoln's Cadillacs, so it's it's become a show that while maybe at one point more regional than than others is is now at a place where it is globally respected by the auto industry, kind of Detroit New York in LA, which is. The the trifecta if you will for the North American industry is New York outpacing our show in Detroit. New York is that a lot of debuts in the last number of years, and it has worked very hard to try to position as one of those so-called A-List shows, I think when you look at the the the big differentiator between Detroit and New York is the fact that the Germans have come to New York on mass. And we all know that BMW Mercedes Porsche in the last year have really stepped away from the Detroit show, and they like the the limelight of New York, they like the fact that they can kalibbu new products in the Big Apple, which is one of the largest markets. And and so as such you have almost a half dozen Mercedes vehicles from the geo less to jail see to the class of CLA all being unveiled here in different variants AM g also the performance brand of Mercedes has a big spot here. So. They're they're definitely looking to to try to make New York a much much bigger player. Interestingly BMW is not in New York. And that is the one outlier here BMW has decided much like in in the Detroit area to not do big auto shows right now, and there are many who feel that BMW will come back to the frame once they see all the Mercedes and Audi product that is here. Is the do emphasis in new success? The New York show part of why they Detroit auto show change that state. I think that the changing the dates for the Detroit auto show was was predicated more on the fact that you can have a better climate, and you could reduce some of the cost that was associated with along move in. You know at times Detroit was asking for sixty day move ins, very expensive union rates are incredibly high obviously, New York has issues too. But New York does this in a much more, truncated fashion. So you'll they'll move in and move out of the Javits center within a much shorter timeframe. So New York in the calendar will now be number one. Because it's always gonna follow the Easter timeframe springtime frame and Detroit moves a little further back in the list when it comes to the big list shows, New York, New York will be the first one out of the gate from this point going forward, Jason Stein. Publisher of automotive news chasing, what type of vehicles are most likely to be unveiled at the New York auto show. And and what are the big on veiling that we have going at at the show this year big unveilings will come from Cadillac and Lincoln, and they are really going to highlight some of the contrasting strategies that they have. So traditionally heavy on luxury vehicle, debuts New York is now going to include that unveiling of the Lincoln, of course, there which is a compact crossover that effectively going to switch out for the M K KC, and it's going to signal Lincoln's focus on utilities, and it continued perch of those dreaded alpha numeric monikers. For real names. So getting away from some of the tease of the past. So that's Lincoln's big news, and I would say the Cadillac, although it doesn't have a scheduled press conference is also expected to debut a CD five sedan, which is the new ATS. Unlike its rival, though Cadillac is continuing to use names made from letters and numbers and believes that there's more room in applying for sedans, so both we are gonna take their Big Apple debuts amid what I would call a transition period for both of those brands Lincoln's trying to rebound from two straight years of US sales. Declines wants to continue some of that momentum started with the navigator the Nautilus the gator and collects really overhauling its whole portfolio. He's in the midst of launching a new or redesigned product every six months through twenty twenty one. So that's Lincoln Cadillac story. And beyond that, you're gonna have a flashy Audi.

Going from passenger cars to SUV's seems to be having some great success. Well, it really is. Ed, you're exactly right because in two thousand eleven we were at fifty eight percent of the market was pickups, vans and SUV's. And now, we're it's seventy six percent of the market. So huge growth just in the past ten years. We've just published a I sent it over to your team earlier, but listen to this between the depths of the recession in two thousand eighteen car sales in Colorado more than doubled overall. And of course, most of those in that SUV pickup category listening top brands Jaguar is at five hundred ninety six percent on the power of its I pace SUV Jeep, which is known for these up three hundred and seventy eight percent, Porsche three hundred and fifty seven percents landrover three hundred fifty one. These numbers blow you away. Anyway, Subaru up three hundred forty four percent. And if you look through all the top ten which also has Mercedes Audi Buick BMW, and even Volkswagen there's one common thread for all ten brands. And that is they've had a lot of movement and a lot of growth in their SUV side of their business. And with those new SUV's? Virtually every manufacturer is coming out with an SUV. We'll have a Bentley SUB kershow this here. Bentley been taken and then Rolls Royce just came out with an SUV and January Ferraris coming out with an SUV Aston Martin. I think I looked at something day in the only manufacturer that doesn't have an SUV is Lotus. And I was trying to think what the letter says he would look like what these things would cost. What's a rolls? Royce gonna cost me that's going to be that's going to set you back about three hundred thirty thousand. Level. Okay. Well, then. Yeah.
