In the NBA, the Knicks visited Barclays center in hung around, but then the nets prevailed one 22 one 15, thanks to Kyrie Irving in part who went off for 20 of his 32 in the fourth quarter. Just had some good looks and transitions. Just wanted to play making play on the heels a little bit in the second half. Jalen Brunson came out very aggressive in the third quarter, so he paid him a little bit, but once we got in that fourth quarter, we started out on like a 6 O run or 8 O run. I knew we had some good momentum. We just had to keep it up. New York won the battle of the boards, but they were more than doubled up from deep, 22 to ten beyond the ark nicks, they haven't beaten the Nats in three years. But performance attracts investors and we've seen 30% rebound in the European market since October, at least in dollar terms. And that is starting to energize a bit of interest in the region. And it reflects the big shift we've seen towards value. Again, something we haven't seen now for more than a decade. So clearly we've priced that recession with priced Instagram stagnation and investors are focused on the difference between the two. I get all that. But now we need to talk about the difference between stagnation and real recovery and expansion and that's been a theme for us this week. When do we start to focus on the fact that there is no growth in Europe is just an absence of a recession and what we've seen so far is a bit of a squeeze of relief rally and perhaps nothing else. Well, I think we need to put it in context here. We think that the global economy is in a relatively good shape and we expect to see a soft landing in the U.S., but we also now expect to see a relatively soft landing in Europe. The falls in gas prices have helped to pick up in China as well. But the absence of recession, as you say, doesn't mean we're yet into a strong recovery cycle. And I think the rebound that we've seen in risk assets in the last couple of months is overstating the potential from here at the index level. We've got flat returns in the U.S. this year, slightly positive returns in Europe. So we prefer Europe. We think most of the action is

On the latest balance of power podcast, I talk with House oversight committee chair, James comer, about his investigation priorities for this year. But we're finally going to provide some oversight to this administration. Look, the Biden administration has enjoyed two years without any type of congressional oversight from the House of Representatives. And you look at that to your time period and there's been record spending. And we can make arguments and I'm sure you have gas that will argue whether or not we have inflation because of overspending because of overstimulation or whatever, but at the end of the end of the day, the facts remain that there was record there was a record amount of spending in the name of COVID and in the name of stimulus. But yet nobody in the House of Representatives has had anything type of oversight over that spending and we hear reports every day about PPP loan fraud, about unemployment insurance fraud and about stimulus fraud, but yet nobody's looked into that. So our very very cheering will be next week. And that we're just going to roll our sleeves and start trying to go back over the past two years and try to determine if there was indeed massive amounts of waste around abuse. And we're going to see if number one, we can call any of that money back. And number two, hold people accountable who made decisions that led to potential fraud with our tax dollars. You're talking about maybe misspent money, not just the fact that we were spending. We were miss spending it. Is that your number one priority? For the oversight committee, we want to get the backs of the American taxpayer. We're also going to be the committee tasked with investigations. And we have several high profile investigations that are in the news a lot. We're very concerned about some of the decisions that this administration has made that have led to an open border policy. "The 5 police officers late Friday were fired from their jobs by the Memphis police department. All of them had been on the job for just a few years, so you had 5 basically rookie cops doing a working a sting operation in a very dangerous part of Memphis. Now the young man who was who was who was killed, he is an employee at FedEx, a big time skateboarder to our knowledge did not have a criminal record. He was pulled over on a traffic violation. Now, the reporting is that these officers were in an unmarked car, and they were not wearing uniforms. And Memphis right now, I will tell you, we are dealing with a massive carjacking crisis. People are getting carjacked and shot all over the place, and it's happening everywhere, including the wealthier parts of town. So there was some sort of a confrontation between these officers not in uniform, and mister Nichols, the mister Nichols ran, they caught up with him, and that's when apparently the beating happened. And that was back on January the 7th. And the city has been hemming and hawing about releasing all of the footage. And the city is on edge. I can tell you that right now, they are bracing for what could be very, very, very bad night for the city of Memphis. People are on edge. They're just on edge. They don't know what's going to happen. I mean, God forbid antifa decides to get on the interstate and come over here. By and large, the people of Memphis are peaceful, it's a violent town, but the people are peaceful. So I can't imagine that we're going to have the city burned to the ground like they did in Minneapolis, but nobody knows. But I can tell you that everybody's ready. For whatever happened. So all you people in Memphis, UB safe tonight. And if you don't have to be anywhere, I would recommend just staying home tonight. And just play it safe.
