WNBA Players Wear 'Vote Warnock' Shirts Opposing Atlanta Dream Co-Owner

"Ara guys, it's crunch time here on the jump wnba players were vote wore not t shirts game this week that was in support of Rafael Warnock, who is challenging Atlanta Dream co-owner. Kelly Lafler for his US Senate seat law has of course spoken out about her position to the black lives matter movement though Kendrick, what is your reaction to the entire Wnba League banding together to support for appointment? Rachel listen they have this ten and on the front line foot the from the beginning for years affect before the NBA started before the NBA players join. Though WNBA players would the forefathers it is. They would've was that started this and it drink down. So I always applaud them and again, rates outweighs telling you please women, they don't do a lot of talk and they take X. men do a lot of talking, and then accident comes a little later. It does women. And they me business and I want to applaud the John. WNBA Greg the WNBA players and female athletes in particular have led the way on social activism from the beginning, they are not beating around the bush. They're not being polite about it. They're being direct into the point about what they want. They've already tweeted from their union account that they want her out of the League. So they're not, they're not beating around the bush. They're telling you exactly what they want and like perks says they have constantly led the way. It's absolutely their right to use their voices as American citizens, and also we ask athletes all the time to be leaders in their community to participate in initiatives that the community, and if this is something they think is going to help their community. They certainly have every opportunity to use those voices and I'm so so proud to be associated with the WNBA for the amount of the these. These women hair and that they are willing to stick their necks out. It is so impressive.

"The NBA. We know that the WNBA has been the lab for a lot of changes. I love love by the way that they received in the playoffs. I would like to see the NBA. Adapt that vinyl spots. My dreams will never happen but the mid season tournament is definitely on the table able now the WNBA. This summer has a break for the Olympics. They kind of have a natural spot for the game. What do you think about the NBA? Adopting this though. Are we going to the Olympics are we as people as humans. Are we the jump start team. USA allowed around. Yeah I think this is not for me at all. I think I think this is a great great thing. I really do like it because people talk about Oh midseason Aziz internment. Where would you do but I think doing cup where it's like okay? This is a game these are points and I I think for the NBA. I think adding some home court advantage. I think there's some things that you can add to it but I think this is great. We have to find a way to spice it up but still keep to the tradition of the game. I am but this is what I like. I I usually central traditionalist so this is what I like about it or I don't know if they would do this but if the NBA was to adopt this doing in the second half of the season right to where non playoff teams. Yeah we'll have we'll be put in this tournament in there some perks for the non playoff team because Tom. This is the second half of the season. If you're not a playoff t players seems checked out you know we we ready. I didn't experience it often. But tell me more so anyways out who's used gifted gifted on some great playoff teams fact in your lucky. We'll be wearing his orange hall of Famer had color anyway. uh-huh no but I I just think you know it a keep fans more engaged the players in the team's more engaged because your plan for something other than just going out there. Are you a thirty one. Twenty five win team. You try you check. Does it. Difficult I don't know I don't know I am I'm I'm excited for the WNBA to still Olympics lympics gave me with Larry Raspy bronze. Because you know break because of Richard I the one last shot at WNBA blow to the interwebs check out the schedule. There's some really good games on there and again debut in this. Cool Commissioner's cup. It's going to have a ripple effect all all across. Both Leagues is going to be so much to watch this summer. Get excited and get excited for our next segment. "Is a team that the has championship potential considering that they have James Harden Russell Westbrook in the guys that they have surrounded him. They should be competing for championship. But because US I don't think there are sound defenders they're not Consistent that plan defense and therefore they're going to always fall short. Yeah and and look when we look if you want to compare them to the warriors when the were shooting a ton of threes very similar to Houston shooting a ton of the warriors still had a top five top ten depot. They were when they were focused. They had their Jeff Lineup. They had the Draymond Green Defensive Player of the year. You had steph curry leading the league in steals. Even though he wasn't a good defender he was contributing something on the defensive end. So this team and then you also have to start looking at personalities right. Are there personality clashes here. Why is it that certain things couldn't work in different places? I think Hardin and rest seem the beginning along better than we saw at the end of hardening Chris Paul but to me if I was James Harden I would not have agitated Chris Paul Russell Westbrook trade. I don't think that basketball style wise. Maybe Russ's your boy but the basketball style wise. I think Chris was a better fit for him. I'm also kind of done with the hamstring away. I think you lose lose. The we were a hamstring away. One game away thing when in this past year you had the chance of a Kevin Durant. Les I in a decisive game gene. We're steph curry. Didn't score a point in the first half and you couldn't close down with a hamstring. Nice people bad things. But I'm sorry rocket fans this is as good. Is this going to get with that. We will go to a quick break coming up. ZAC Levin.

"Answer that? Yes the front office. Salvage our jobs thank you thank you thank you for being on that is the front office is trying to salvage their jobs. This this is not a physical problem. Let me ask you a question though in just in terms of that and the way because it works differently obviously with every organization who knows but this one but would it salvage their jobs because these guys have now run through x number of coaches and certainly Steve Mills more so than Scott Perry at that point having another fire coach on your resume. If we'RE GONNA be one hundred percent honest by the situation has David Physio done a good job of creating style of play. No that she's done a good job of developing this is what we're going to be knighted a night out as and you know what your role is. You knew what he is not but for foreign seventeen is on. His head is not a foreign seventeen roster but it's not a five hundred roster. It's a bad team. He was given a bad team. He was given a team with five power forwards. He was given a team with no point guard and in the NBA Pointer. They're getting boat raced by the other teams back court art almost every night and that's a result of personnel so you can only sell things in the NBA hope or success. They can't sell success and right now. There's not even Sylvan in hope because they don't even have the free agent class that they thought they were having your face it might might. You're you're right right. The foreign seventeen is on him right. They probably should have seven win but seven wins would still have him in the exact same position. Eight wins would still have him in the exact same position and that's the type of roster that they have so like I look at another team. That's I struggling like the warriors they had stood another totally listened to selling hope. But this is what I'm saying. 'CAUSE Steph curry waiting in the world. But you started. It's hard to season with Steph Curry. You started this and then they were struggling. All I'm saying is not a I'm not saying the warriors are accomplished. I'm saying talent to talent right. The warriors had more talent talent and they were still struggling to start. The Knicks have far less talent and they are struggling and look like an like a very very terrible team so like would do the Knicks. Have that that should warrant any type of positivity from their fan base or from their organization. That's my only argument. I'm not saying that they're the warriors. I'm not saying that that's why really they're left with very very few options and option a is to change the coach and honestly because of the storm that was caused by that press conference changing. The coach might actually help by at least getting the uncertainty but David West Coast trip coming up. I don't care if you bring Red Auerbach back. He's not he's not going to be able to sell hope that would be. That would be different. Maybe they wait until the end of the west coast trip because they don't want to set whatever new coach they have up for this To Go back to the Front Office Steve Mills has been in charge of this for an office since two thousand thirteen obviously worked in the front office much longer in the last fifteen years The Knicks had the second worst record in the NBA. They have cycled through many many coaches in that time In the last twenty years they have the worst record in the NBA. But even if you just say the last fifteen they're winning percentage is thirty eight percent which is not what you were talking about them. Because they're in New York well but that's actually a good point though. This is a team with all the advantages and I think that is why sometimes there is frustration from the a fan base. Frankly more than almost any more than anyone else. No one is more frustrated the Knicks fans. I know that it feels sometimes like everyone else talks about them. Go sit down with the Knicks Fan so talk to you about how training camp the Front office sat down and said we believe we had a good summer no matter what anybody says and this is going to be better faces doing that again basis. I'm doing all we don't believe what anybody else is saying. Well everyone else isn't lying. I was always told that if everyone else is telling you something then you need to listen to what everybody's saying. They set it up that way either by not being truthful or being woeful in projecting their team either way. It's not good. Numbers was the biggest fan base in the NBA Eh. They have a huge resource in terms of money in terms of their local TV contract merchandising opportunities the ability to draw free agents the NBA would do better if this team talk so questions feeling better coming up Kyle. Kuzma has scored four.

"Should more players jumping on this. Because I mean you know now this is this thing. Leave him alone. There will be a time. Where like five years from now? There'll be some young player that saw it and thought it was the funniest thing he'll be doing it but yeah it's definitely worth it. Are you saying it goes on purpose because I think he should be an actor after his career thousand. Look he's doing it like ten seconds later. Oh no he's not ten seconds. That's what I think. Now he's I think he's doing this. Come on yes. He's doing it as a reaction action. Miss St Pat's we're GONNA throw some basketball's later we had last night. Yata Server Julius Randle uh-huh Joel embiid here and that's just a grown man. All right so who is the bigger bullying buser. He did that to Randall. Randall his six foot. Nine hundred pound shoved him in the chest. He Royce O'Neil. He just saw smaller man and said it'd thieves like I mean look. There are other teams contending in the east. I'm not disrespecting the raptors the Celtics the heat there is the idea that it could come down to these east two guys going at each other finals just because of the big presence on both in dealing with them is one of the reasons why the Celtics as great as they're playing. I don't know if they can if they can do. Dwarf Someone Trade Danny mic to me. Poppy engrave big nights starting with that poster and then to huge threes late eight. This beat the Hornets. Brian Nami poppies music. This was one of the strangest games I've seen all season. Kelly oubre eight was just average to below average and then the last two. You mentioned this game look like Lebron. He had three steals. It's really wanted to watch. It was that Steve Watch. It was like Carmelo how about that in the end this game. This ain't being in Phoenix has been great for him. It has been great for him. He was the topic. It was a good idea. Well I think they weren't. "This did not play for a year in your Middle Thirties. I have seen well condition and guys who are in A. We're in a rhythm. Come into training camp. Richard in their thirties and get hurt their first week of training camp. I know that you did this little weekend. Training Camp in New York before he signed with the but for them to he. He didn't even have a shoot around. I was when they started and I was like. Oh my God here. We are going to hurt him in his first couple of days. That only he shown the he's physically good condition he's excelled I've been blown away by how he's been able to physically contribute right away. I think that's a compliment. Then I know that he talks about being mentally ready. I have no doubt that that was a huge thing for him. But the physical thing which I can judge has been very impressive to me. I mean look. He has been an elite athlete since he was a teenager so the fact that he is still an elite athlete in his thirties thirties. It's not a shock when Pudi queens younger it is hard there is no soul cycle. They're trained minutes. You can do you. You have to eat everything right in your older. have to train for hours every single day. That to your point is so impressive. Seen a number of players that I've watched up close close comeback after a summer off. Yes not a year and lose it and be done. Yes your point. The part I saw Richard point out when during the interview. He said you wake up. And you don't even really. We know what to work on a training camp coaches showing you film. You're not anything you just have to sort of do it from scratch every day and it has been successful the blazers of one a season. Best for them three straight games with Mellow Damon. Cj they've all been scoring so let's take a look here at sort of where they are. You've seen his his impact. What do you think.

Thanks <Speech_Male> why can't <Speech_Male> I go out like that. Why <Speech_Male> do I have to be the guy that <Speech_Male> goes out <Speech_Male> being cut by the <Speech_Male> Houston Rockets? I <Speech_Male> mean this guy is going to go to the <Speech_Male> hall of fame <Speech_Male> and he's been out of the <Speech_Male> NBA for a year. <Speech_Male> Dying dying to <Speech_Male> get back in <Silence> and I think <Speech_Male> a lot of it has to do <Speech_Male> with you know look at the way. Tim <Speech_Male> Duncan out. Dirk <Speech_Male> Nowitzki <Speech_Male> Dwayne Wade <Speech_Male> and he looks at that <Speech_Male> and says you know. Maybe <Speech_Male> I wasn't those guys in terms <Speech_Male> of winning championships but I <Speech_Male> was still pretty good <Speech_Male> and I deserve a little <Speech_Male> bit better than that <Speech_Male> and I feel that <Speech_Male> I still have something <Speech_Male> to contribute and I think <Speech_Male> that's why he wanted to <Speech_Male> come back so even <Speech_Male> if it ends for for him this <Speech_Male> year I think that even <Speech_Male> right now I <Speech_Male> think he feels like he's accomplished <Speech_Male> something <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> and looking back <Speech_Female> at mellows <Speech_Female> entire career. <Speech_Female> What's his <Speech_Female> legacy like? <Speech_Female> How how do you compare <Speech_Female> him to other <Speech_Female> great players <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> you know? I <Speech_Male> think <Advertisement> it's <Speech_Male> a little weird about the whole <Speech_Male> thing with Carmelo. <Speech_Male> You know <Silence> Chris. Paul was <Speech_Male> his buddy playing for the <Speech_Male> rockets and <Speech_Male> like Chris Paul really never <Speech_Male> said anything to Carmelo <Speech_Male> got let go and <Speech_Male> then Lebron <Speech_Male> and Carmelo <Speech_Male> have always been really <Speech_Male> close in the Lakers have <Speech_Male> had openings and <Speech_Male> he didn't end up on the Laker <Speech_Male> so a lot of that stuff <Speech_Male> was a little <Speech_Male> odd kind of <Speech_Male> his friends in the League. <Speech_Male> Because I'll say this about Carmelo <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> if you ask when <Speech_Male> Kobe Bryant was in the <Speech_Male> League Lebron Twain <Speech_Male> Way Crispell <Speech_Male> you ask any of <Speech_Male> the big time players in the <Speech_Male> League name <Speech_Male> your three best friends <Speech_Male> in the NBA. All <Speech_Male> them will say Carmelo <Speech_Male> does. That's just <Speech_Male> the kind of Guy Carlos <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Music> <Music> <Speech_Music_Male> <SpeakerChange> I look <Speech_Music_Male> at Kobe. Bryant <Speech_Music_Male> Kobe Bryant <Speech_Male> on the basketball <Speech_Music_Male> court when it <Speech_Music_Male> comes to winning <Speech_Music_Male> is a killer <Speech_Music_Male> and I think a <Speech_Male> lot of players players. I think <Speech_Male> Dwayne Wade was there. <Speech_Music_Male> I think at times <Speech_Music_Male> Lebron is like that <Speech_Music_Male> the ultimate guide <Speech_Music_Male> would be Michael <Speech_Music_Male> Jordan. I always feel <Speech_Music_Male> like Carmelo. <Speech_Music_Male> When he's out there here he <Speech_Music_Male> wants to win? He's going <Speech_Male> to be competitive <Speech_Male> but it is like a part <Speech_Male> of him where he's <Speech_Male> this great roll <Speech_Music_Male> out of here played basketball having <Speech_Male> a good time. We're all friends <Speech_Music_Male> like his. <Speech_Music_Male> His demeanor <Speech_Music_Male> is just a little bit <Speech_Music_Male> different than some <Speech_Music_Male> of the other guys is where they're <Speech_Male> kind of like a win <Speech_Music_Male> at all costs <Speech_Music_Male> and sometimes Carmelo <Speech_Music_Male> is. I'M <Speech_Music_Male> GONNA get thirty. <Speech_Music_Male> I'm going to score a lot. <Speech_Music_Male> I'll have fun out here. <Speech_Music_Male> And then after the game we'll <Speech_Male> just hang out and be friends <Speech_Male> that's sometimes <Speech_Music_Male> has been his attitude. <Speech_Music_Male> Not that makes <Speech_Music_Male> him a terrible person. <Speech_Male> It just puts <Speech_Male> him in a different class and <Speech_Music_Male> some of those guys that are smashing <Speech_Music_Male> while. <Speech_Music_Female> Thank you so much <Speech_Music_Female> frank. "So frank when mellows treated to the Nixon twenty eleven seven. He joins a team that looks like they could turn a corner. They already had a star in Amari stottlemyre. So now the question becomes how do the next round out out this team with the addition of mellow that was a struggle. Like how do you build around him. And then they kind of hit on something where they brought in. Jr Smith who we've been playing in China so they got him on the cheap. They made a good trade in broaden Tyson Chandler then they went out and signed four free agents. Jason Jason Kidd Rasheed Wallace. Marcus Camby Kurt Thomas now Kurt. Thomas was just about done Rashid walls. I think played a handful of games. He had a foot injury. Camby be was in and out of the lineup. Jason Kidd contributed a lot on the court. What all four of them contributed? Though was in the locker room they brought a lot of leadership to the locker room. A A lot of toughness and I think for Carmelo that was important because I think a lot of times people think the best plan your team and a lot of ways. He's always going to be your leader. He's not necessarily going to be your vocal leader. Carmelo Anthony finished third in the MVP voting that season. That's when the next one fifty four games shot they. They beat Boston in the first round. They basically ended the Paul Pierce Kevin Garnett era because once they lost ended up trading those guys off but the Knicks had really hit on something by surrounding Carmelo with older players in Carmelo. Just kind of go out and do what he does you know. be a terrific score and things like that not. That's a worry so much about being the leader on the team. Yeah and like whether it's fair or not. mellows legacy is largely based on his time in New York where he earns reputation for being a bit of a ball hog and even guys who liked playing with him like Chauncey billips have talked about. That was like a good teammate. eight-man practice every day. He didn't miss any games. Now the only thing I will say and I've even told mellows scoring thirty demint too much to mellow. It meant so much because he can have guys where he had twenty twenty two. We win the game. And he's mad and so frank. If that that fifty four win season in twenty twelve thirteen was the peak. How did things Kinda go downhill for mellow from there? If you go back to that year the All Star game was in New York early in the season. Carmelo was complaining about a knee injury that he had he knew eventually he was going to have surgery. He kind of made it clear that his goal was to play in the All Star game. It seemed absurd because he needed surgery in December but he actually waited just to play in the All Star game play. Yes I get it at. The All Star game is in the city that you play in. It's going to be a big deal but you're putting all the emphasis on one game. Where in the long run you're hurting your team and Carmelo Anthony Right? After the All Star game ended up having surgery limited him to only forty games and that to me is when everything started to turn and that all star game was actually the last game he played that season and he had just signed a five year. One hundred twenty four million dollar deal with the Knicks. And then there's this public falling out between Carmelo and Knicks President President Phil Jackson Phil Jackson. It's spent basically a whole year taking potshots at Carmelo. I've never I've never criticized ever criticized cargo although that's all supposition by papers whatever speculation. My opinion people holding the ball is not a criticism. That's what he does as pure fat Carmelo never went back. Once through the media I think on the one hand I thought it was Kinda smart but there was also a part of it where it looked like Phil Jackson's treating treating Carmelo like a punching bag personnel to be able to take that if they're going to be coached. Rosa can't be part of this organization and so all throughout that season. It was kind of like like this Cold War between Phil Jackson and Carmelo. Anthony reached the point. Where Really Carmelo didn't want to be there anymore right well so eventually you know the Knicks trade 'em into okay since one thousand seventeen and surprising news on Saturday? The New York Knicks agreed to trade the ten time all star Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City thunder in exchange receiving. It kind of hurt himself when he first got to because when people asked about coming off the bench or even coming off the bench and the second question I mean. I don't know what I started with. I K I got to come off the bench. He kind of snickered. And you know we didn't really want to hear it but even though a lot of people in New York for a couple years felt like you know what maybe the best best role for him would be coming off the bench. You know if you're going to be a sixth man be a sixth man. Kevin Mikhail's hall of fame player. He was a six man. Manage nobly for most of his career was a six man. He's going to go to the hall of fame so I think Carmelo kind of not accepting that six men role maybe a couple of years ago. I think that hurt his reputation and then a year later. There is this kind of bizarre and hard to explain chapter of Mello's career he signs. What the rockets to team up with Chris? Paul and James Harden but very early in the season that marriage runs its course Carmelo. Anthony Time with rockets not officially officially over but the teens expected to announce before their game against Golden State on Thursday that he's Kaput. It's done don. The relationship is over. Here's my question. Why did it not work out in Houston for Carmelo? That one is confusing. Because you know if you look at some of the Games that he had his last game was terrible. I think he might have been like one for ten but there was a game where you know early in the season they came to Brooklyn and he did really well. He's twenty plus points and Houston just in at the time they had a Lotta guys banged up so it was just weird that remember. They didn't get rid of him right away. They basically just send them home and said you know you're still in the contract with us but we really don't want you on the team and if you've seen some of those interviews with Carmelo he doesn't seem to understand. I don't think one person to say that I wasn't professional. I did what I had to do my work and then Tim game come. I just didn't understand where I come from. I really don't understand it. Like what was the rush to get rid of with him right. Then I mean Houston the roster was a bit depleted. He wasn't a superstar player anymore by any stretch imagination but I thought that he can help. He said he's still confused. ADV used by. I gotta be honest I am too. I didn't I don't know why the rockets decided then to send away right and yet mellow is an all time. Great talent and sensibly Sibley. He's still got something left in the tank so it seems a little strange that it took a year for someone to sign him after he left the rockets. Why do you think so? Few teams were interested. So think about it if you're a team that doesn't think you're going to be a playoff team. First of all this Carmelo Anthony Really WanNa go play. You probably not but if you're a young team which you rather invest two million dollars in a player that you feel that you can develop into an asset or do you give two million in dollars to Carmelo Anthony. Who you know is kind of on his last legs and really? What's he gonNa do for a team? That's probably not that good to begin with so already you're eliminating in my opinion even more than half the teams in the League. So now you're going to the contending teams and do the contending teams have a need like that too. They need a score off the bench. Who's not not really going to be the greatest defensive player? He hasn't played for a year. So yes there are thirty teams in the League but there weren't thirty teams looking for Carmelo Anthony and now he's gotten this chance with the blazers a team that wants to win now. When are we really going to see? Is this the end of Camillo or not. We're going to really get an opportunity. I think in Houston last year it was too short. Even tell what was going on Then after it wasn't like they played that much better without him and he hadn't played in a game since November of last year December eighth. So was this just a case of Portland really having no other options. Let's face it. You had to be a little bit desperate. At this point to add Carmelo that the time that they acquired Carmella where they signed him their front court players forwards and centers were averaging a combined thirty six points per game that was twenty seventh in the League so there was a need there. So you know Portland was desperate as was Carmelo so in that way made the perfect marriage. What are you looking for from him? Leading up to the January roster deadline when his contract does become fully guaranteed. I hope that he sticks with Portland for the rest of the year. I hope they make the playoffs and he kind of goes out the way that he wants to go out if assuming that this is it for him who knows maybe a WanNa play again next season but I think this part of him and I think this kind of talks the kind of person he is I think he looks like what Wade had his final season with the Miami Heat and he looks at Dirk. Nowitzki went through with Dallas as you guys might expect This is my last asshole game..

"At Max over over here. I mean look you knew. This kid was great. When you found out that it's Max with two XS Dan? His parents made sure this kid was bound for greatness. Could've he's supposed to stop at ten point. Victory as just show isn't just raining down with perfect hair from every spot on the court. I mean it's nice but do what a defender in front of your face made by anybody. We may anybody anybody can make those buckets. Do What Handy your face cross clearly. Seeing these halftime shows I've seen them but that doesn't mean that he he gets extra credit because everyone else is bad. You WanNa come out here and step on the court and makes them sad to do with your hand in your face. This is what you're GONNA do. You're gonNA have hard about the space. Based on the sports landscape of being the Guy who attacks ten year olds eight or nine. He's good enough so that we don't even talk about Anthony Davis and Lebron James's triple double them being the best team in the league all of a sudden. And Wow Max Max is even greater. You're not giving him any credit. Dan Did you say eight or nine so what was wrong with. That knife won miss the last one. Yes he did yes all right there. Nobody cares about all that understands. Work Harder Max. Work Harder was was GROFF's performance more impressive than both Lebron and Max. I'm here for the idea of celebrities trying to make their way through some of the dancing entertainment growth curve. Yeah he's a bit stiff here. Come on you gotta give him credit you. Don't you step out there with professional breath beer professional. He's offbeat he doesn't know the moves and he stiff loosen up talking about. He merely spent time with this group choreographing choreographing. He knows right there. He's no these moods just because he's not good at it doesn't mean it's not impressive. He's not keeping time is. Are you watching a different clip to me. He is he's been part of one of the best teams. NFL history that requires timing and precision. And he's lost it to demand can't get back into league obviously he. He knows the moves but the most impressive part about to me the Lakers they have James Corden Venus Williams Rob Gronkowski not only being part of some skits but having practice. Is this get clearly multiple tirelessly. Just because Lebron's around practice did in fact that's the first proof. I have a brain function that provides memory for that dude because because he might have been off rhythm but it wasn't a memory problem remember that grant just recently told us. Hey I've got big press conference the Patriots haven't been able to get the ball downfield and we were wondering hey is grahn coming back and grind. The real spirit of drunk is never left because all these nonsense then is a beach party here in Miami during the civil and now the dancing with the laker girl does Alabama still desire to be number five and the College Football playoff rankings without to this is not about computers or data data or committees. This is about what I'm about to say if I had asked you about four or five weeks ago before that. Lsu Game Does Alabama. Have the talent Alan to beat you with a third string quarterback and win the championship the way that Urban Meyer did with Ohio state you probably would have answered yes or you would have said. I don't think they to beat Clemson that way but because of what we saw against Lsu a lot of us are like well wait a minute if that happened with two of. There's no way they can win with their backup quarterback but perhaps they they can against anybody because they've done this before where they lose early in the season and at the end of the season they're holding up the trophy when we think they're out and everybody wants Alabama in this game even if you hate Alabama at the end of the season because you wanna see somebody be able to knock them off with their backup quarterback. I hate to see them lose because their quarterback I hurt I. I think that when we say it's a beauty contest sometimes it comes down to how well you win the game. But I don't think it should come down to whether your players are injured in. I've always hated that as an argument to excuse losses for teams but they didn't have their starting quarterback or to dismiss teams that have a legitimate chance of running or making a run in the playoffs. So I think that they might not make it but I don't think it'll be because to hurt. Hang on a second hang on a second so the committee chair says that too is injury did not affect their ranking. And you both are saying that you agree with that that you would not change their ranking than you. You can't project and say they're clearly not as good without to it in there as the starting quarterback because I saw that Lsu game it looked like to was the primary reason they even came back back. I think with the backup in there. They shouldn't be considered. And you're gonNa tell me that if clemson loses its quarterback I'd say in the SEC championship game. They can't project and say hey. They're not as good without him at quarterback. I think that's nonsense. What's the point of the Games at this point? Is he like you just want to project. We don't have to play at all. We can just look at rosters and project like I think that is likely that they won't be as good but we have games. They've been just as good up until this point. We'll see if they play poorly going forward. Then they go back and they continue to play well. If savings able to put together some sort of scheme that props up Matt Jones. They deserve to continue to play well or not. Just Star cornerback. It is your most important player. Prompt the quarterback up as the most important important position in sports and you lose the potential number one draft pick. And you're supposed to be just the same team. I think it's kind of ridiculous I will not stand for this cornerback. Slander you lucky yeah. We should be rooting for Alabama to get the fourth spot or get into the playoffs. And let's get to the third string quarterback of Alabama because it happens to be to his younger. I'm good brother and then we can have them win the championship with his younger brother. We could come back with a controversy next year when he has to go back to school because he can't go to the NFL because he's hurt between between two brothers for the position of playing quarterback on the champion Crimson. Tide totally changed my mind. Keep them at number four. Move them up up number one. Let's make sure that happens coming up next on my I saw Stevie show the Golden Knights have been good here for a while and.

"Welcome again to highly questionable. No old old guy again today. Thank you for all of you. Who have expressed your concerns? He is happy he is healthy. He's just seventy six years old he's been working punching a clock for fifty a years and he doesn't feel like working that hard right now. Oh come in when he wants to. Let's get started with that. And we know he's the one who makes the show special different and awful depending on your perspective. We miss him as much as you do. But he's happy and healthy. Thank you for your concern. Let's get started Kerry. Stotts thought mellow looked good did you. Oh Okay you've heard of the stages of grief there are three stages of desperation and basketball one is signing mellow the second is starting mellow and and then the third we saw last night is feeding mellow. Fourteen shots the third wars plus minus of his career because he missed most of them. Turn the ball over. Because it's really hard hard to parachute in and play something that moves as fast as an NBA game. No matter how much of a score he's been in your past. I didn't think he looked good. Because they got their heads caved in and they're so decimated along the front court that they actually need him to shoot those inefficient mid-range Jumpers think that Terry Stotts was right about this. I think it will get better other than that though at least in part because it can't get a lot worse well this is just unfair. SORTA for all parties involved because this version of Carmelo Anthony for any team. Good good or bad. Should be a seventh eighth ninth guy off the bench. Just like Dwayne Wade in his final year was a guy who came off the bench him needing to be an offensive. The threat for this team is not great for him. And it's not great for the team but this is partially why Carmella was out of the League for as long as he was because when you bring him in. This is the sort sort of mess you get yourself into. This is Terry stotts having to say yeah I think he looked good when he was all the negative statistics that Dan just said and your starting him. I mean I saw trailblazers trailblazers talking about men when Damian Lillard back that one four pick and roll with him Carmelo Anthony. He's GonNa Look Great. No it's GonNa look like him. In any other power forward you can get that can shoot an eighteen eighteen foot jumper. This is Carmelo Anthony's final story. This story is not really that big a deal for the trailblazers. I don't know Terry Stotts but I'm GONNA assume that he's a unreasonable person. And I'M GONNA give the benefit of the doubt and say that he wasn't talking about mellow the basketball player looking good. He was saying melody human. Look good but I mean in in mellows defense. I think the way how good someone looks is based on the expectations and you couldn't have had any expectations for someone who's been out of the game. As long as he has and someone who hasn't even practice with his team so poor for fourteen. That's pretty good for someone who hasn't even practice with the team but there was one moment where I guess even Carmella was failing himself and he went up for the dunk on. How many years ago would he have completed? bleated that five years ago probably not. You're probably looking at a decade a decade ago there born Presa performance last night. Lebron or Max. Are we going to all give Lebron James and apology for overreacting to sixteen games. He missed last year with what was clearly a groin injury that held him back because last night he now has triple doubles against every damn team in the league. Because he's the best you've ever seen and the most versus versus you've ever seen but there was a Max last night and Max is ten years old and Max was drilling them from wherever you want to look.

"Because he's probably going to be an upgrade for you at either power forward or center but there are a few teams that have both power for anti centers. Better than Al Horford right. Yeah that's why. Include him and it was kind of the same idea for Dr Mitchell where he can play the one he completed two. They're very few teams. That have that are so deep at those spots where he can't start we'll so what. Who would danny green nuts art for? I guess you would start the two on the clippers and slide Kawai and Paul George Up. Yeah I think so. And at the further full-strength Warriors started three arclight. The three I don't know for even counting the warriors for this would he. WHAT ABOUT UTAH? Oh yeah he's better than any other small Ford's yes you start have been three. You're playing playbook claimed Buchnevich at the foreign. Just I guess I guess that works. Well enough rockets early. I think it'd be Simmons Josh. Richardson and Tobias Harris. Actually if it were for me I would probably actually start Danny Green and bring buys hers off the bench with that group. I just go with the best defensive five in the history of the Yup but that would never happen though Yeah Yeah I think he probably would start forever team at least at least for me now of course we were bigger believers in him than than some are. WHO's the other guy who said Mitchell? I said Mitchell. Aw Luca and Horford. Luca's an interesting one is not that good defensively. You'd saying he would serve the clippers full-strength clippers team. I think so. I mean he would be a great fit. But I'd rather I'd rather start him over there guard options and be defensively pointers. No you probably start. You put quiet the four so then I guess you'd play heap. Maybe you'd have guard ones depending on how you want to structure it with Sheridan. And Yeah and Pat Beth well. Luca's Danny Green is worth player. Lucas so if we're saying right reading here already already answered. Luca was an interesting one in that conversation. Just because he's he's such you wouldn't think of a player with who relies on the ball in their hands to be this type of player. But but I think that he's in the conversation all right next one here. have any surprise. Young role player type stood out to you. Brandon Clark has been very very impressive in Memphis so far the one that just right off the top of my head occurred to me. How about you is young enough still to count as a young girl player? Because I've always twenty-seven yeah I know but but with the way his career has gone like I've really liked what he's been able to do in Dallas and th- The concept of like their lineups in the rotations is pretty pretty interesting. I continue to like. Oh Gee he's had some rough shooting games but just his defense grade and his physical strength and I. I wouldn't say that he's surprised me or anything. But he's continue to impress me. I've liked staying in Memphis. I've liked dillon brooks defenses. He's so he's so wax and wane on the shots Amis scoring thirty points one night and like six the next I liked cody. Martin's energy defensively. That's been earth. Yeah that's been something I've liked. Alex crusoes gotta be on that list to me. I mean I think they do. Their season really took off when he started playing a little bit. More of an should to see where you fit in now with Rondo being back Kendrick nuns only twenty four. I think and I think his role Oakland though I mean he's got a pretty twenty five percent usage. Yeah but that will a lot of that was without Jimmy. I WanNa see where where his spot is but if he ends up being best off the bench I think even even if he's a high usage guy if he ends up in that role that still there. Yeah I wouldn't say ERC. Paskal has been playing like a role player but he's good but I think he profiles well in that spot eventually eventually. Yeah that'll be really interesting to see With when they get everyone back a How that's GONNA look They've been playing it to three lately just because they have nobody else in. That's it's actually stabilized. Their defense slight To play him and Draymond Green together. But I'm not sure he's a good of shooter at the three ultimate but maybe maybe he could be. When you've got me I guess just just probably would have to come off the bench? Maybe he plays the four and dream on plays the five with Klay Russell and and curry if they keep all those guys Do we want to talk about mark. Folks I wanNA talk about him a lot more tomorrow Yeah Yeah I out no visa role player either but PG Washington Oh yeah Jalen. Yeah still still want to keep an eye on devante green in Boston that that could be an interesting one to okay. actually Jabari Parker playing a role more in Atlanta where. He's actually rolling to the basket more. They haven't put the ball in his hands really at all to initiate the play but he's just been an excellent finisher at the rim. He's up at the top of the League and dunks getting passes from trae young. I didn't expect him to be a role player but he has fit in there pretty well so that assigning. I didn't like that especially in the absence of John Collins has worked pretty well. He's fit into that role of art. Where do you WANNA go here? Question from Jasper Stringer. Who are the most likely new allstars? An some of some of the challenges here is you can think of somebody like Rudy Gobert. I mean Gobert to me should be but he also should have been last year. So That's interesting part of the conversation and I think he's up there. Pascal Siaka just the role that he has taken on and also being in the eastern conference is particularly useful. Had had a little bit of an exodus is there. That could be opened up. Luca I think I think this is the I haven't really squared up my rosters but it would be trae young in the east. I mean that's if he keeps playing because he has to make trae trae young has to be in it. I think they're going to actually be a bunch in the east just because the the exodus of guys like why and obviously Brown was two years ago a bit Lebron and said they're they're just more slots open there than in the West which is just kind of overstuffed on the guard line in the perimeter spots I think are going to be lined up pretty quickly so Dutch young and Siachen the three that really come to mind for me anybody else it stands out to you go bare yeah because he somehow still hasn't made it and I mean he's he's doing what about Donovan Mitchell Yeah I we're have to really go through in the West there's also injuries right like Steph curry could still get voted in and that just won't be healthy by then most likely I hope that it'd be it'd be funny if he played in the All Star game and then didn't play for another month Yeah it did come out to the second procedure on that hand to get them oops crews out quick. Read here to tell you about my favorite mattress on earth that I cannot wait to sleep in tonight supposed to because I am absolutely exhausted. The flight back from Japan was not kind of me in terms asleep. The Nation of Japan was kinder but as Nice as those matches may be they are not.

Wizards send rookie Admiral Schofield down to the G League

"Seeps alongside Brian Scallop Greeny? And we do we officially. We have our guy wizards rookie admiral. Scofield we got the headphone issues. Figured out he's hanging out with us for the next ten fifteen minutes. What's up dude? How we doing? I'm doing you guys doing. We're doing great which great admiral I want to ask you this I you know I followed sort of your G. League stuff like you. You had to pretty great games to start your career. What's it like now? We're talking about this a little bit before when we were trying to figure out the audio stuff. What's it like now? 'cause you go from Tennessee where you're playing a ton the minute you're one of the main guys and I was saying one of the hardest things about going to the NBA. Must be you know you have to make the most a very limited minute stuff that you're not used to and then you go back to the G. League where you're getting all these myths like. What's that transition been like for you? I mean I would. I would say it was easy. It's been tough but I think the biggest thing it's been more helpful than anything Than they would actually shoot the ball in touch the ball and bring the ball of the floor and you know sometimes can get lost in the game and during the little engine you lose flow. You'll slow an offense and things like that but snow problem I think the biggest thing is that you know go to Julie's allow me to see the game slower so allow me to understand. You know where my spots are in our offense because you know the G. League wins the same thing Offensively that we do with the wisdom so I think the biggest thing is just going out there playing with confidence picking my spots learning offense inside and out from different positions. So I know where would it be helpful. So that when I get my time with the wizards that can come in right away. Contribute but be a goddess in the way on offense or you know. Oh Gimme driving lanes or Brad and those guys so just learning just learning the game at a different level of different speed but I think the biggest thing is just you know developing that unger again a hunger to go out and just repairs going floor. So it's been fun My lasy league game. I had like three hundred dollars in the first quarter. I was on pace for a great game and I just I. I was so frustrated also frustrated because you know every time I play with them. I just want to prove a point. You know not not anyone but myself that you know I am who I think I am so I as many great honestly is made solid because the wizards have been doing the best but at the same time you know I just have to knows no pay my dues in. Stay prepared to contribute when My name is golf. Do you notice a difference like the four you go. You play a couple of games. You get back to the wizards in practice. We all three after whatever. It is a big difference. I would say the differences. The efficiency to see guys is every movement they do you know. Gaza is very efficient. They don't waste energy in almost seems effortless for a lot of those guys of just China followed that trend in learn how to slow the game down not ways energy not waste movement but be a smart basketball player on both ends type player. I WanNa be I I WANNA be a two way player. You know I think in this day and age noted Three D. guy is a is a great role for me but I want to develop into two way player like the Co is in the paw. Aw Georgia's I WANNA be great like those guys but you do it in my own way But like I say I'm a winner and I just want to contribute in help the wizards win but also Gogo. Winter Games will You know there was a video that was circulating of John Wall dunking in the pre game the other night and he got everybody excited. Everybody's like when is y'all come back. When are we gonna see this backward again? What can you tell us about sort of his rehab? What minds it is how? He looks like what he's playing in. What's he how has he been like around you to interact with what you like is a guy you know You know coming in. You know you don't know what to expect. What the stars Um? Tom And I can honestly say John. Wall Brad Bill has been very helpful to me and John even more so because you know he just gives you a different personality. John's going to be John Doc He's he's about energy he's like a kid honestly is hilarious but he comes in every day pushes burke in his his rehab is is very entertaining he takes very seriously but our court. He's definitely getting working as you can see. He's dunking game. But no he's taking his time Make sure they fully healed in one hundred percent again his body in his mind riding. He understands you know what's at stake this season in right now. He's just focused on his health No these in the middle of his career and you know you got to take care of his body so I think the biggest right now. I know what's best for John. His body in the wages are on board for him. Hanso baby steps right now but you know his greatest Sam jumping you know making shots knocking down threes in a jam band. John Wall the during the fancy moves in the spans. Different things on finish. Your source is Great Sam. Every day I mean he's a great guy and also you know he's been a great guy on the bench just encouraging urging brad encouraging the young guys it really being a big time leader in our locker room. Put your hat on for me. I just watched row. Gotcha more of the other day Boston. Encargado look what is very Maura. Is he quite Leonard Account. Be Help me understand. Because he looked so athletic so strong and other times. You just like all right and you can't really shoot shoot fifteen third so help me out more he to me you know watching him play he definitely has that is I think I think when you compare players you know these days. It's more of how they play not so of what they do. If you know what I mean so like I would say you know the way ruined removes the way he how efficient he is like when we play it almost looks like he's playing at his own speed because he doesn't wait in as you like I was saying not to have that. Ah Coming into the League is big time. Because guys like Kuwa- Paul George. They had that pace. They had the different speeds home now. Allows them to create themselves and create spacing facing now. He has that tooling rule is actually very very athletic. Our teammates get him a lot about not knocking the ball. You know it's just I think it's a I think for him it he'll get it But he can do ball on me. He's a very he's he's a very smart player you know he doesn't weights Zanji He sees two points two points a Dunkin Alab was equaling him. So he's just he just a basketball player may solid He's so she's very strong stronger than he looks. Definitely looks in he competes. He competes every day just like A. He's a quiet assassin. Honestly but you know you you respect his work ethic in in no way does on the floor and I think you know. We're his talent. He I mean he can he can grow. Who wants to be but I definitely see coli Colli asking them because of the way moves away he plays but no? I'm not a person likes to compare players to other players because I just think you know your your own manual in your own player your Harbor you do. A certain thing should be catered to how you do it in in God. I just don't like putting people in other people's got yours. The wizards are are. You know you guys are like this young team and you got a deal and walls kind of on the bench Isaiah Thomas but you know you're it's become a more of a fun team to watch and I I think a lot of people thought maybe especially the League ask through that are now seeing you know which teams the best wishes vaccine been a really really entertaining team this year. It'll be interesting to kind of see how you guys develop. Because you've got to. I got a good good combination of veteran players and young guys like yourself and Rui. I want to ask you about this too. We opened the show with Carmelo Anthony being back in the league. He signs a a contract with the Blazers and non-guaranteed deal. They need a ton of health kind of in that front court situation. Tell us what you think about about mellow being back in the league like how and how much like Melo is a Guy Outta you looked up to kind of coming up because I'm just talking about this early so many guys seemed to love somebody basketball guys guys in the NBA guys like yourself. That are younger. Really looked up to mellow and and love him as a basketball player. Keith Mellow being back. Leading getting another shot honestly Mid Post game after mellow ever since I was I mean maybe middle-school on me mellow is our main mellows. Everyone loves mellow because of high. Play the game and you know just flavor in the Saudi brought to the game to see him get a deal is just great Deserves the being this league. I think and I think a lot of guys in his league believed that his wailing to see him get another opportunity is always a great great thing And he's a legend to the game. He changed the game in many ways. avenues for different players. That are like him And play the game the way he plays so just to see him. Back in League is Great. Man You know guys like Jamal Crawford. medals guys are adjudged. Think that you know they can still play and I think they deserve opportunities will. Oh dislike. Tom guys opportunity. Not See what he's doing on our team saving is great for us but also is great for him knows confidence for him and not think he's building building day by day and to see what he does and not see him as a veteran. You know trying to help lead. I think that as like that are a great fit. Is League specially with a lot of young gods coming in so this is new you but I've been I've been a part of the. Va Now for about eighteen. Years and rookies never came. animate the type of impact that we're seeing right now that you've ever reason for that what what is. How are these guys coming in and make an impact right off the jump? I mean and I'm not just talking top pits. We're talking second round draft guy these guys to come in and they get a different tapping teams win the reason for that. Is I think if you really look did the tree and you know it's it's a lot of guys that are staying more than one year staying more than two years that are coming in really he make an impact but also guys that are only.

"Thousand nine hundred ninety six man of the year finalist Mantras Herrell stopping by the studio. Oh today to talk about his expectations for the team going to be a big one for them but I so when news got out yesterday that the Pistons were bringing back Joe Johnson after he'd. I spent a year out of the NBA. The first thing you heard from a lot of players was wow good for him. The second set of tech I got from players was now. What about Mellow so fine fine. Let's talk about mellow. One of the top twenty scorers of all time he is a ten time all star three time Olympic champion and AA champion. He's also the guy who was chased out out of Madison Square Garden by a Knicks Organization. That seemed inexplicably. Hell bent on diminishing is trade value before they traded him then Oklahoma City where he fit fit like a sweater. That was two sizes too small. There was the infamous. Hey p they want me to come off the bench moment right at the start of that season and at the end of that season well there was mellow mellow on the sideline Crestfallen. He couldn't get subs back into a playoff game. The thunder clearly and it turned out rightly thought they had a better chance of winning without him and it got even worse than Houston. Despite that great summer of Hoodie mellow workouts yeah even more the Hoodie on the beach at that players only preseason trip to the Bahamas and talk about mellow being able able to accept his bowl. The rockets spent the first month that that season in a total free fall and the coaches decided instead of watching to see if he could really handle sitting at the end ended the bench. They just send him away instead. What followed was an entire season of mellow just sitting at home dangling his reputation taking a beating by the time we got to this summer. Almelo wanted was to find a team to finish his career with except no one has wanted him even. USA Basketball didn't want him for its Fiba World Cup team despite that nearly every other big name player on the roster had dropped out despite that this was an organization he had given his heart and soul to I mean the man sat on a plane it listened to Jimmy Butler and Kyrie Irving thing at him and that still wasn't enough for team. USA To feel that they owed him. I mean come on still though players in the NBA. Hey have kept pushing for Mela. When myles Turner wrote a heartfelt twitter post about how hard team USA had fought in China Markeith Morris answered him. Lol should select mellow play. There's been video of mellow in pick up games here. He is crossing up two time. NBA Champion Danny Green and the guys who have played with him in the summer runs keep vouching for him. Kyle Kuzma told the LA times quote mental easily better than half the league right now. There's no question about it. He should be on a team right now. The athletic Sola also reports that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving had been pushing for the net to sign mellow and considering the nets also reportedly had their eye on Joe uh-huh Johnson and he is as noted now off the board. Does that be mellow is in fact a risk. Brooklyn should take that of course depends in part on mellow. He sat on the first take set it earlier this summer and decreed he was happy to take a bench role. And of course it's okay to ask if he really means it personally. I think he does He. Watch dwayne. Wade do it last season. I also think he's finally come to terms with no longer trying to be a part of a team in contention for a championship something a guy like say. Vince Carter realized a couple years ago which has allowed him to keep playing well. Mellow is now is someone who can provide a little bit of punch to someone's second unit who can be a real draw for fans who can pass along at this point very hard earned wisdom to the next generation and certainly if you look at his numbers even just over the past two seasons they are in line or better than with a chunk so the players who do have jobs right now for example there have been some comparisons out there this summer between mellow and Jared Dudley and here are the stats and no I am not suggesting testing the Lakers made a mistake in taking Dudley over mellow the spotlight Nah. It's already so hot that I get the Lakers fearing Melo would turn it into something flat out combustible and and maybe that's what most teams are afraid of general but if you look at the numbers not every team should be afraid of that. I mean let's be honest there are plenty of MBA markets. Suka us a little more spotlight right and they could get it with the basketball player who does still have some hope in him. The bottom line is that someone's answer to okay now. Now what about mellow should probably be why not Richard. What do you think why do you think mellow in the League anymore. Do you think he should be. I think he should be I. I think he's done everything he could to up up until this point to just let people know like hey. I'm willing to accept it now. Don't forget in that interview. He also said there was a little bit of a lack of maturity at certain points in time in his career and I think right now that you know the NBA is constantly evolving is constantly changing and I just really believed that now that he's willing to who accepted. I think he just needs to wait a little longer. Joe Johnson went out and played in the big three dominated dominated the Big Three's best player out there hitting game winning shots and they were like okay. We can use this this with Joe also never had that Joe had been coming off the bench for years. Joy already accepted that role many years prior same Vince Carter so I don't really I think mellow will will get an opportunity to play basketball again. Just might not be when he wants on his terms the biggest concern. I think the League has for him right now. Stephen Smith said this interview this week that he's put but NBA coach who said I can't look down the bench nab a hall of Famer sitting there and be reluctant to play him because then it becomes the storyline. Zeh doesn't want to blaming a blowout or you know. He wants to develop a younger guy then there's questions about wise Carmelo Anthony the hall of Famer not playing rather than wise Komo Anthony. The role player not playing. I think it's the weight of that reputation that is causing teams present right now. I don't think it's right you see that resume did you see that resumes resumes and even the USA basketball. I think of all the things that that you should be if you WANNA look at I and again I know. USA Basketball is moving on the here. You have Jerry Colangelo talking about. I'm not GonNa Forget who would come and guess guess milk come over and over and over and over again and even if this this was like Hey Carmelo. This will be the last time just calm be this. We can't guarantee that you that you're going to play in this and that that was the one that I think probably was the most eye opening. Now is not coach k. It's pop up now so he's going a different route but still when you're complaining about the guys that won't comment guy that is the greatest Olympian in the history of American basketball not being able able to even get an invite like that's kind of eye opening that was the one I feel like probably hurts the most don't really by the hall of Famer at the end of the bench we've Seen Hall of famers and their career on the bench. I mean Vince Carter and Dwayne Wade right event. Says says this is finally his final season but I mean we've seen these guys who have taken that role and I think if especially after after everything that's happened with mellow in the last two seasons he came out in his opening press conference and it wasn't. Up they want me to be off the bench. It was hey I've totally changed changed how I look at the game and even in that interview with Stephen. He talked about look in that moment. I felt like I love the game so much. Why isn't it loving me back and he said and I've shifted a two. Hey I love the game so much. I just want to be a part of it. In any way I can and Dwayne Wade recently talked about the mellow deserve that and I know that that's not how you get jobs in the NBA. Hey but I don't think it's that I think that a team deserves Carmelo Anthony and he can still give something to a lot of teams. We'll see I wanNA move onto his team. The rockets who come into every season and with a highest of high hopes why should this. You're any different after all. They've got Russell Westbrook pretty much everyone else back not named Chris Paul from last season rockets owner Tillman for Tita spoke to Kris Haines of Yahoo sports about his expectations going into this coming year. Here's the money quote I think we put ourselves in the position that if we don't win it in the the next three or four years. He said we probably aren't going to win one in the next ten years. He said this is the time. I just resigned Erik Gordon who is thirty. I've got Russell and James and Eric and Clint Capella for the next four years. PJ Tucker's thirty four or two stars thirty so this is their window. Let's seize the opportunity. Do you buy it. Ah I love it when smart people say smart things. This is their window and they're in the win now. Mode this is not. We're worried about luxury tax. We're not worried about the repeater tax. I I'll go back to Cleveland even when they had the number one pick and they had Andrew Wiggins and Lebron James came in and you're just like well hey andrew we really appreciate it but we need to win now and that's what Kevin Love was for them he he gave him that opportunity. Look they went to four straight finals and won a championship so I think the Houston Rockets owner if he's looking at basketball improper specter he's like this is our window if not we we probably going to have to wait another ten years. Sometimes I don't like these declarations when rob Pelinka said with the Lakers I felt like it was bringing a little bit undue pressure but also he isn't a position as a front office remember. The owner is really dictating what the expectations are for the group because he's the person paying the checks and employing people in the front office so I really like I think it sets the tone on everything. It's just being realistic. If this how he feels why hide it by everyone no this is where we wanna be in I last year the rockets were kind of begging for that rematch against the warriors and it kind of blew up in their face obviously the way the playoffs played out though but I like it put your make your intentions be known and go after I agree creates their window anyone looking at Russell Westbrook contract knows it's an James Harden's contract frankly to knows that this is their window right. Now you mentioned luxury tax. He hasn't been so excited to pay luxury. Tax Acts the past couple of years. There's been some moves cut corners that he has said haven't been for tax reasons but it just mysteriously gotten them right under the tax. Richard and I do wonder what they're doing with with their coach. WHO's coming into the season. I mean you've been in this position on teams with coaches who don't quite know where they stand with management. What is it like when the coach wants. The extension hasn't gotten it. Everyone is kind of like Whoa WHOA and look this in no different than when rap link are an owner says. It's like okay well. If that's what it's going to be look at all the teams that have won championships in the last twenty a years right the last fifteen years. You're going to have to spend some money. Come that come that all-star break. Come that trade deadline if there's a free agent guy that you feel like an send you a few million in over. You're going to trade your picks. You're going to do whatever you have to do to bring in these types of players because this is your window and it's the same thing happened in Cleveland us the same thing that's happening golden state. You're going to have to make the one thing that I really liked this statement is because the parody in the NBA right now. They have two of the top ten superstars in this league. Maybe two of the top seven so you have that and you have quality players around that means yes. This is not no longer the Golden State Warriors dominance. It's not going to be them so now if you can't get it done with them them taking a step back. This is your window trade deadline sixteen Caz Ed channing Frye who added some salary and he was a you know a role player..

The Giants Actually Won A Game

"About the New York football giants. They actually won a game night. Football matchup against two powerhouses the giants and the forty Niners. Look pretty good about it around the pocket. Odell Beckham in the end zone Beckham had two touchdowns saquon Barkley look good look at this past there in the same. Twice in a row. Saw that one Jalen is there a little civil dark cloud. That is the giants season the silver lining is the person that ally shaking his hand. Nobody knows who it is Nick Mullins because the San Francisco forty Niners are not a good football team. They're not feel from my brother Richard Sherman. Having a play with this team this. This basically vying for top pig. The giants are talented group. Ofensive Lii in their perfect example of trying to build your squat through the skill players. Isn't probably the smartest way. Look dare division. If you were going to talk about who has the most talent just sheer touto question that USA giants have more than Philly, Washington and Dallas maybe combine. But why the last couple of seasons have all of those teams been better than them. Because he's not that good. The line is not that good the substance the lines, correct? And so for that. I'm not surprised clearly that Dale TD's saquon Barkley terrific sterling shepherd caught the game winning touchdown. But we know what's going to happen. Right. You know, it's gonna happen. Right. Cannot cannot break. Some news breaks news right now, what's gonna happen here. As a news happened bench. La. For the guy that ran over the cop. Big bench. Eli ran away just in want to do it. Because that guy had just gotten trouble have been playing attention for national media consumption. He's been in trouble with the law. Couple of times for some reason. We just don't talk about it. So I think later in this year sued they dream of Alah struggling he my stomach coming out of the tunnel. They bench. We know what's going to happen. This is last year allies last year in the National Football League. No, he's a man play as long as he wants to play in a different uniform next year. Kevin Durant, Kevin Durant Clapper And Draymond Green discussed on The Stephen A. Smith Show

"In regulation score. Todd. Draymond green grabs the rebound. Kevin Durant is slapping for the ball. Draymond green ignores. Him dribbles the ball up the court trying to make a play here is right here. He's trying to make the play. Where an ignorance Kevin Durant Clapper for the ball, essentially. Doesn't isn't able to get a shot off because he gets stripped. And obviously the game goes into overtime Draymond green. And Kevin Durant thereafter had to be separated because Kevin Durant clearly said something to him about it and Draymond green. Didn't like it. Or appreciate it and was willing to get into his face. 'cause that's what dream on does. And had to be restrained by DeMarcus boogie cousins of all people. Only say that about we not saying that the slight DeMarcus cousins in any way, we only saying it because he is a known as the most cool calm collected individual in the world. But boogie cousins is a bad brother healthy averages twenty eight and twelve you can't tell them anything and he's a rough ride aid scared and nobody either so it's to be respected. But here is the point. Kevin durant? And Draymond green. We're getting into it. Andrea dollar has to tell Kevin Durant chill out. Boogie cousins has to tell Draymond green to kill out to chill out. And that is that I will tell you. This arguments happened is not that big of a deal. I didn't think either was agreed Asli role. But let's be clear if Kevin Durant is clapping for the ball and your dream on green you give. Kevin durant? Damn ball. This is one of the greatest scores. We have ever seen in NBA history. I don't think Draymond was wrong per se in this regard. If you were dribbling the ball up the court because you aren't at forward that serves as the playmaker for the warriors. So I can understand instinctually you grabbing a rebound and pushing the ball up the floor. What I'm seeing in response is that it's six seconds. Kevin Durant clearly can handle the ball. He clearly could pull up from thirty. We've seen him do it in an NBA finals in LeBron James face. I might add. You get Kevin Durant. The damn ball. I don't think it was agreed GIS. I don't think it was intentional on Draymond green. What he was doing. What he always does which is handling rot passing the ball try to make place and in this case, he messed up. I don't think it was any agreed this here. But if I have to pick a side, I'm going to say, you get Kevin Durant. The damn ball. Was this argument indicative of something else that's going on that we don't know about. I don't think so. Look. Kevin Durant may end up leaving the Golden State Warriors. But guess what? He's there and since he's been there. He's done nothing, but won championships and in the process of being a two-time champion and the two time NBA finals MVP, let's remember that one of the people who recruited him which drained mongering. Yes. Steph curry and Klay Thompson and Audrey good dollar all joined in the Hampton five. But in the end, what this comes down to is that they all recruited dre mongering. I'm sorry. Kevin durant? Kevin Durant has answered the call and as paid them back in dividends. Now. Kevin Durant may choose to lead. I don't believe it's for one second. It's because you're gonna hate dream on dream house. Cleveland Browns: Is the defense getting too close to Baker Mayfield?

"Are getting hot in Cleveland. Here's a story for you. Seize the team gets ready for their second preseason game against the bills. Baker Mayfield has been the center of drama this week. The Browns coordinators got testing practice yesterday over this one Browns reporter tweeted this out, Todd Haley, upset with the defense getting too close to Baker Mayfield said, quote, good teams don't touch the bleep in quarterback to which Greg Williams responded will block them, then artsy see, is this a big deal? Which side are you on here? No, I don't have to be on the side. This is info football. A lot of times now, because Cleveland, they have the microphones. They have the cameras there. And then I'm just going to tell you in recent weeks. I haven't talked about a team that won one game until. More than I've talked about the Brown. So I guess that's that's a positive thing. But these are normal things in practice. The defense, they have an agenda. They have a call sheet. They have the defense they're going to run and they're going to run blitzes the offense. They have a call. She, the plays, the protections, and all those protections call for a guy to block almost every guy on the defense when people don't do their job, coaches, yell at players. Both of these coaches are right. You are not going to be a good team by hitting your quarterback in practice. Every team that knows this from high school where we put them in jerseys there in jersey, for reason that guy's value to the team. It can't be replaced and you have to learn as young football team white Cleveland. You have to learn how to practice, right, and I don't care bakers, rookie. Learn how to practice because of the game has changed. You have to learn how to practice in short. You have to learn how. To be competitive, but not combative. You have to learn how to get guys better and learn how to not guys down and Bill to help guys up and not worry about how looks because there are certain things you just cannot do on the football field in practice that because you're trying to get ready for the game like you don't take certain angles once you have a lime in if I've drive all the way back up by your Nick, I'll take my hand down. I'm put it more on your breastplate, right?
