Tiffany Haddish Interview

"Tiffany Haddish is winning so big great. Now, she got three movies coming out this fall in September night school with Kevin Hart in October, the oath of political comedy in November Tyler. Perry's next one nobody's fool and next year she's already got the lego movie to secret life of pets to the kitchen with Melissa McCarthy and Elizabeth Moss Tiffany. So hot right now, there's not enough water in La to put out the fire. She's a Hollywood allaster and she built all this after being homeless for years. She built all this on the strength of her comedy and the strength of her spirit. She made this happen by thinking it into existence. What do I mean? That the last black Unicord tell you, it's Tiffany Haddish on Tori show. You see like overnight and I know you're not I know you've been grinding for a long time. We'll see that was all part of my plan and my manifestation I wanted everyone to think, oh, that's brand new where that come from and then. We'll be long time. What was was keeping you going when you were just grinding sleep in the car coming up no promise of that. It was going to work out like. What was keeping you going? Knowing that I that I am going to do it having the I knew is like. Like. A little girl knows periods gonNA come at some point. You don't know when it's going. But you know it's going to happen or like I know. I'M GONNA pay taxes when they win I, have to do my tax return. From my job to do but I know one Davis GonNa Happen. As just knew. How did you know? You believe in yourself you believed in the universe like I didn't know nothing about no university university global at that time was universal studios. and. I was a kid I just knew you just how you just you just like. You know you're going to have a job. You know you're going to have your own play like this is you know I didn't know how no win. Know like. In what capacity I just wanted to be a entertainment I knew I wanted to bring joy. So. Like every job that I've ever had is been it has been basically that I've been that in that job when I worked at the catering company I, was my job was to meal prep. Well, I'll be singing and dancing as everybody that was in the kitchen pair with me like you. So I was bringing joy you know when I worked at. Bar mitzvahs. Full blown entertainment right there. Energy produced wine thick. I'm in the and I'm cracking jokes on kids on the dance floor getting the old man on the killing people by accident I was. I was winning then I got a job at the airlines and I was like, well, they're give me a microphone they let me make announcements and I'm doing stand up comedy at the same time like every thing I've ever done is led to that when I worked at the Youth Center, I taught you know Improv. Classes dance. We had a I had a comedy class going we served we taught them how to Crochet seen the game banks crocheting it was slumped in something else but like always had some sort of you know artistic at. going. Somewhere. Good for me and good for whoever's around me.

"That's a comedy they're like. Oh I give it like a thirty Mike. Well the thing I particularly bristle about and Danny McBride and I had a nice bitch session about. It is the total failure to recognize how hard it is to make. Comedy work versus. I can push in a camera and I can play Peter. Gabriel and guess what you're gonNA feel an emotion. There's no cheating and comedy them to not even acknowledge that as frustrating like you go. Oh wasn't my brand of comedy but I could see that it's well made and I could see everyone's laughing around like the unwillingness to even recognize the architecture of it in respect it is I find offensive. Now you don't have to like something. But as a reviewer you should be knowledgeable enough to recognize the mechanics of it. Yes it is sometimes just like you can't be a food critic if you're like. I only like peanut butter and white bread. Everything else is terrible you. My friend should get a different job. Like if you're if you're saying I can look at everything with an open opinion and it doesn't have to be my thing but this was very good or this was done. Well I think people will like it but I also think a little bit of it is like instagram. Like you school. Scroll through instagram. You see the guy. Light a firework in his ass. And You KINDA CHUCK ALL RIGHT. You get a little chuckle. You can scratch your comedy. You can't really scratch your drama. It's you're not gonNa really see something in a thirty second video that fulfills you in that desire for drama part of it is. I feel like we're competing with this immediate thing but the thing that scares me as the thing you just mentioned which is that aside. The shared experience of being at wedding crashers opening night was so profound compared to evaluate watched it on my phone and that's a hard thing to convince younger. People don't have those fun memories of going to see the Bill Murray movie when it came out in that shared. Oh we all were with that audience or just roll and that laughter. What happened you? Do you leave the bit more of like humanity? Not just a laugh. But you're like I got in a room with a bunch of strangers which God knows when that will happen again and we have this shared experience e you feel it is someone to be like. Didn't affect me at all and it transient. You could be sitting next to a guy from Texas with a cowboy hat on. You could be sitting next to a rabbi to your left when Owen Wilson says we only use ten percent of our heart to see all of us. Laugh you're like Oh there's some unifying beauty to this thing. Yeah it says it brings people together. That would never normal late. You're right in the same room. Have the same opinion on something. Yeah there's a power to it. Yeah I just feel like it's verbally. It's fallen out of fashion but when people like the comments I get I get more people just being like. Please keep making the movies you make because we need it. I need to go home at the end of the day and laugh. And that's not everything you're doing is great. I just mean like that's the comment. I get all the time. It's like. Just keep it up because we need something. Yeah but then I. I don't feel like that sentiment gets through. May Be to the people kind of choosing and and commenting on the brass. Yeah Okay Well. Listen America. I was on the outside and I saw the beginning. I'm not Ben but I'm the next best thing you're going to hear from. Is that this Gal. I was around for most of the ride and I saw at the pinnacle on the boss. I'd even say you're kinder than you were when we are at the groundlings visions. And you weren't telling me about the volume versus ticket price. I'm just so happy that it all went the way it went that America got to see the thing I had been seen for free for years. It's just one of my happiest examples that I've been around in the fact that you stayed so beautiful and nice and kind generous. And you stayed in your pod. Your realist fuck. That's my conclusion. Real your real real real McCarthy. Well you're a sweeter peaches you ever were. I hope a little better even better that way. You're even better than you always were. Which is is saying something. Well I adore you and I look forward to seeing being over in us to go for a swim in your pool. Dead All right John. You Okay Bye love.

"Most McCarthy Yes Jack Sheppard God I love you right back at you. But we're both from the mid west and I do wonder so I think my wife in particular. She's a very good person. The best person more good than me. Oh my God by a landslide. Yes and I knew a lot. I like you a lot but sometimes I think she's so good that it might in the end we're gonNA find out she's Super Shady because it just seems toogood. I couldn't agree more. That has secrets full. Because you know I'm never shocked when it's the guy like bill cosby. Where of course the guy was going around telling people they can't swear doing stand up and shaming for doing nudity. Yes that makes sense and this weather's I never trust sweaters. That can't be trusted but kristen. Stocks the house with very responsible cleaning ingredient. I know I actually I was like if I say pine saw I feel like going to texts me and be like there's all these I I use vinegar chew but today I just hit it hard and like you know what I want. Everybody all day to be like she really cleaned that bathroom exact so I wanted a little proof. Yes I couldn't agree more. This silly thing that happened where I had cut myself like in the afternoon and then I had used toilet paper to get rid all the blood and then I I purposely put the toilet paper like on top of the trash cans. So that when she got home she'd be like. Oh my goodness what happened to you but then someone threw something else out in there. And then I found myself rearranging the paper so the blood would be untouchable. I could get attention. That's so great. And then she's walking limping or like holding your wrists like Oh this is fine. Of course I tried to play it off like yeah like. I can't believe she found that I was trying to hide and then they came clean taller. That's why you're that's why. You're lovable weirdness. Plus the honesty is like a wonderful Combo. Yes scumbag and then apologetic about it like Ben his kristen. And I'm you and we're all doing fine. But benza much much better human a better person than I will ever be and most people that know us as you do are like yeah. That's that's pretty accurate and I'm glad you brought it up because I think that and I was like you know I don't know if I bring that up you know it'll be met with open arms but yeah I would say that's a really good each other. Where each other. Why in. What way is he better than you? I'd like him to prove it. He super patient and I'm always like hot anything like that so people. Let's figure out a way to help them. But I've gotta take seven laps around the house going. What's GonNa who which somebody has to do something? And meanwhile by the time I'm done ranting he's like so I called this. It can really help so I did that. And then might all I've been doing is outside swearing and like he just because it does it better and I'm like oh great. He goes great intentions. A process is not always wonderful efficient. Okay but okay our our defense. So I know Ben's Dad he's the sweetest calmest most patient man. My mom is a tornado of productivity and excitement. You know so I feel like I inherited it honestly are your parents is cool. And Calm is Ben's Dad. They're both really sweet funny. But my mom's much more quiet and just kind of like. Hey you WanNa go count pennies today. Oh Yeah Oh yeah let okay. I like pennies. Anything you say. She's just like Oh yeah. We're GONNA clean the bathroom. She was just here she left yesterday. My Mom and dad's stay with us for the winters and I left to go do a job in my dad went home to fish in the Illinois and my mom stayed an extra week to see me when I got home from job. And she got stuck here because she won't fly so she's been with me the last fifty days and we literally just put her on an RV yesterday to go back. And I'm like like you know thirty five hours and she's thinking I'll do my puzzles. Oh.

KT Tunstall (Live)

"Hello Hello Welcome. That's quite funny that you picked that lineup by the funnies because it was I said it in barons in Glasgow when we were recording a live album on the tour and finally is a very endearing to call someone in Glasgow. If you're being an idiot appeared fanny and it just came out. It was unplanned. It's on my live album so yeah I think is gonNA glass that one great. Hashtag stike five eight member to write the word five. So you've been based out in La for some time now and that's obviously a very different culture. Has that impacted on your song race in Seoul what you say. Yeah I think location is always GONNA be important ingredient in what material you come up with and I'd actually go night to La to sort of start again. Because I'd been through some really difficult stuff here in the UK a dotted past divorce. Everything owned just really needed a fresh start. I wanted some sunshine and I wanted to be somewhere just in this of replenishing environment. London's quite overwhelming very fast place city. Oh it was found it quite difficult to relax in London and I gone to Venice. Beach was onto an. I'd been going to La for a long time tour but it was the first time few years ago I went to Venice beach and it was the first place. I'd been where everyone is just bombing around every day of the week. You don't have to wait for the weekend and that's actually really helpful for what we did. Because we don't have weekends in London if I had a Wednesday off. Everyone's just giving me evil looks because I've got time off whereas there it's just a very laid back quite an alternative culture in that part of La and La's basically like twitter. It just totally depends who you follow. You can have an extremely different experience living in different parts of La knowing different people. It's very separate all these areas so you can. You can really have a completely opposed experience of living there from someone else and so I chose Venice and I was going to take a break. I felt very stagnated. It just felt like I was caught in an eddy of finding the mixer. He's mixing everybody's staff of being in competition with you know inevitably any other female musicians that anyone could think of. And I just wasn't very inspired to make a record so I've actually gone out to L. A. Really to study film composition which I did but it was really just listening to west coast rock sixties and seventies row. Tom Petty fleetwood. Mac Neil Young Joni that got me writing some real kind of Air Punch big choruses again and the world had sort of become darker at that stage that was like two thousand fifteen things were on the turn and so if I was writing similar stuff folk inspired stuff like I did on invisible empire crescent me my fourth record. I probably would have to shelve it and waited but I was writing these really. Big Pop. Choruses about overcoming difficulty so it felt like quite helpful thing to put out into the world. I was excited to do it. Yeah we're always fascinated by right zoo. Kinda take a break from when we spoke to front healy. He said it's Kinda like select the field life. Follow for Awhile and I think that's really important. I think that's why I mean. Some people can smoke fags burgers every day until they're one hundred and five and they're fine. Everyone's different but it certainly works for me to not be constantly trying to keep up a level of output people often ask about writer's block and I actually watched them a star is born. The other day was it as far as born. No it was the wife. It was that foam the wife. Brilliant Glenn Close Foam. And there's a line in it where they're at this really pretentious party. No it wasn't even the wife. Can you ever forgive me? It was one of the Oscar nominated movies when Melissa. Mccarthy goes to this book party. And someone's asking this really pretentious right or do you ever get writer's block and he goes well. I don't subscribe to writer's block I was like. Oh my God. I say that it sound so pretentious but I actually don't. I just think it's quite arrogant to expect your creative mind to just do what you tell it to do. I don't understand really where the gift of some rain comes from. And so if people ask me that question I'm like look how many books how many films how many plays how many museums of you said that you want to go and see Redo Watch ingest and you've done use that time. Fill yourself with some stuff. Get some input or sit and do nothing in your Pyjamas. Also very useful. I find but you shall time for creativity. Oh that sounds like a bit of a paradox book. Do you put a new. Yes so it's a great excuse to go on. Adventures. I love right now albums. I love albums that one piece of vinyl because I think that four or five minute cut off point is actually a really good of point for how much music you can ingest at one time. The same for podcasts. Yeah good to know. I'll keep my answers slightly shorter but yeah I think albums are a really extraordinary form of making music. Even if you're not I mean I'm in the middle of the matic are making three albums together in a trilogy at the moment. But even if you're not doing that there's a there's a familial kind of hermetically sealed world within which that record is made and so many people will come up to me and say that their favorite track is an album track. And IT WASN'T I. It would have been the single at first but Israeli side that we're kind of moving. I'm not a lot of people I know are not but in general. There is a move away from albums. And I think that that's a shame because it kind of is taking away that deep dive on a snapshot of an artist's life at that time so tell us about that idea that you've been chewing Kim and walks. Did you have a unifying concept of the trilogy before you even started? Nope that was the thing that was really funny trilogy. You would think that you would decide upon that before you started. And I didn't and I wrote can and it was so very healing experience. In that record it was coming with kind of really Fu blast Mojo but really feeling like it was the beginning of the second half of my life so I came to. Kim is quite a different person than I had been up until that point and in many ways the fourth record invisible empire crescent meeting. I kind of see funeral music. It's cold these titles because my dad died right in the middle of those sessions and it was. He wasn't very well but it wasn't expected. And then I kind of had this wake up where I just went on Gordon with the wrong person. I'm sort of in the wrong life. And so yeah. And this is when procurement was this kind of funeral march to that happening and so then became this real phoenix from the ashes. It was this real beginning of something completely new for me and you know it's very easy to take a show. L. A. N. It's completely deserved. It's total bullshit van. You know people go. Oh my God. You're amazing you've got to do the movie. Oh they never called me ever again but there is also this amazing element to la where it's really is the vanguard of a low of new thoughts from health to filmmaking to the arts. You don't get laughed at for trying weird stuff. And there's a brilliant Frank Lloyd Wright Amion love he's an intrinsic part of La's architecture and kind of culture and but he says if you turn America on its site everything falls in California and so you just get a low of Weirdos and a low of them eccentric people and the thing I particularly like about L. A. Is Wild in many ways but actually like literally you can drive twenty minutes and be at the top of a mountain and be killed by a lion and that's the truth and there's Koyo Cheese and eagles and it really is untamed and it's also completely untamed in Mississippi as well because there's not as with guns in their cars so it's just a really extreme place so meditation had been a big part an always wanted to get into yoga just healing myself and getting really healthy and it's very easy to do there and I did and I really enjoyed it. Meditation became quite an important part of my daily life. And very good doing this job to just actually learn to control your brain because a lot of the time the monkey brain is just jotting chatting biscuit to shut up for fifteen minutes Varvara Day but it was during a meditation session on the tour for Qin's Akin was all finished and I am. I just had a really really strong vision. That can was the first part of a trilogy. It was all about the soul owned by the spirit and I knew I wanted to make a real rock and roll record next and I knew I wanted to explore electric guitar because I hadn't really delved into that. It always been acoustic and that to me is the most visceral most physical Instrument Electric Guitar.

Golden Globe Nominations: Netflix Leads — In Both Movies And Television

"Golden globe nominations came out of this morning so that's going to error the seventy seven golden globes will air on January fifth the Beverly Hilton hotel with Ricky Jr vase is the host the seventy seventh annual golden globe awards it's always it's always a fun time because the actors everybody very very relaxed that might be one way to say it they're very relaxed well a lot of them appear to be have snapped in old sold now Matt Roush is on the line Matt good morning how are you pretty good how you doing good to have this chance to chat with you John Heinz in for Dave Lee here and golden globe nominations coming out here and and we're learning more and more about this a couple of my favorites made the cut including Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin for the Kaminski method which is just a I just I just that is a a marvelous marvelous shell yeah and they really do love it it didn't get quite as much love by the Emmys and all but yeah it did well for them last year at the golden globes I think Michael Douglas one and maybe Alan Arkin dead but aunts and sort of the show so that was good so good showing from them although I do think when it comes down to it what's probably going to win the big prizes this year because of the show this what the Emmys last year is Amazon's flea bag starring Phoebe Waller bridge and she's a real rising star in the show was so traffic is only six episodes for to see them then and still that so made a big impact and it's what the critics awards as well so yeah and then the marvelous with this Maisel as well the the Amazon show that the just dropped last weekend and and so people are Startin side are just now binging a probably but that one does very well at the awards to be yes and the the Kaminski method is a favorite of the golden globes and the golden globes do love shows that have sort of really starry cast on them like Michael Douglas coming back to television and that was a really big deal so another another show I think somebody beat some people might be surprised got a bunch of nominations is the morning show from the brand new streaming service apple but it's a very starry inside the baseball behind the scenes look at a morning show that has the Matt Lauer type scandal it was nominated for best drama and the two stars Jennifer Aniston Reese Witherspoon were both nominated and they're just big stars and and the globe I mean people like Jennifer Aniston just like tailor made for a globe nomination so even though that still got some X. reviews it's in the top tier of the drama series being nominated for the clubs the thing about that let me mention mark marvelous Mrs Maisel how many episodes do they drop when they drop for a season something they do to him this time they did eight episodes episode so and then when we look at this when we look forward to what's going on I'm curious to know this doesn't ever become like a precursor though for the Emmys doesn't because the Emmys are quite a ways away it's not as it's not as tied to the Emmys as it is seen as like an Oscar precursors of right look at this is like a bellwether for what's going to happen the Oscar nominations and what's really happening there is the fact that Netflix is has just released dominated the field in both television and movies with movies like the Irishman M. marriage story and even smaller films like you well actually with the but that Eddie Murphy movie dolomite is my name got a comedy nomination so did very well they got seventeen nominations in movies they also got seventeen nominations in in television with shows like the crown which just happened just dropped in amazing affect the third season a few weeks ago with a brand new cast including Olivia Colman as the queen Tobias Menzies as prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter as the sister princess Margaret all three of those got globe nominations as well so they love that there is that a show that a lot of people milling would be familiar with called unbelievable it was a limited series true crime drama that's had a mirror weaver and Toni Collette played detectives and Kaelin beaver a young girl who was sexually assaulted and it dealt with this serial rapist is really just a great series but didn't get a lot of buzz because to get swallowed by all the Netflix stuff this would popped out and got four nominations which is as many of the crown and the most nominated TV mini series which was Chernobyl on HBO so again in a lot there's so much TV nowadays it's hard for anything to pop through well yes I heard you mention that more than once there is just an awful lot of television these days so that's pretty much the way it it what it comes down to to hear so what are you looking forward to see what's coming up what's new on the radar is there anything new on the radar well not a lot new but I will tell you one thing that is if you're watching TV this week in what if one of your habits of the watch wheel of fortune along with jeopardy that you're gonna notice the Pat Sajak is nowhere to be seen on the set of they're going into their big winner promotion they called the secret Santa give away and Vanna white is stepping in for Pat Sajak this the next week these episodes were filmed while he was recovering from a domino surgery and she's in a guest once before at least but but and then the many many years they've done the show but to have her doing the Pat Sajak they'll be startling for people if they didn't know this happened with those episodes airing this and next week and the Paley this budget Disney characters on the set as well because of the Disney promotion so I don't know what that means group is going to turn over letters or what it was in late night you know we were back in the days of Johnny Carson there used to be you know guest hosts were pretty much of a regular thing with the take a vacation they let celebrities coming together so the almost never see that anymore but for the next two weeks on James cordons sort of rambunctious late late show the show the comes on on CBS following call there he's got a guest host filling in while he goes in films with a Netflix movie and so we're gonna see Alicia keys and item later on you'll see Melissa McCarthy said and then Jeff Goldblum and and Harry styles field the rapper lots lots of the under some quite a few more so for the next two weeks are we different Gasol's every night on the on the James cordon show which is a really fun show a lot of people don't stay up that late to watch it but again I would like to see more of more of that like having people stepped in when when the when the when the host goes away so you don't want to repeat mode and just spread the wealth a little bit yeah one of one people are gonna that job all right well I'll tell you what Dave Lee will be back with you next Thursday I just get to fill in today and tomorrow he'll check back in with you next Thursday I mean next Monday it's Monday for goodness sake well it's a pleasure to talk to you John always yeah I was of a joint chatting with you Matt because you because you know the stuff and it's it's it's good thank you so much for the visit this morning my pleasure thanks again all right

"My older sister holly was there for a bit of it. Then my sister Hannah her twins are three holy cow her husband Josh Chris and Myself Lauren everybody that is there's a lot of people mover you stop in New York for a little bit. We flew straight. We stopped in Germany for a couple of days and then when I'm saying it's a long awesome. What about you we stayed kind of in the country this year and we went to we did a Deer Valley Utah because my kids are very into being an outdoor door stuff and then we also spent some time in Santa Barbara and and you know just relaxed had a good time we went we went to Cape Cod. That's right as you do every every year we because you're from the East Coast and you're wealthy and not east coast wealthy people. Do they go to Cape. That's exactly exactly what I did. A triathlon did yeah. I did a sprint triathlon what to sprint. Triathlon Sprint triathlon is you swim swim about a third of a mile. Okay you bike about nine miles and you run three miles to mazing regular triathlon. I think irregular triathlon every distance longer this school impresa seventy years of age was more sore after the pedicab cab. That's probably that's very impressive last year last year every year. It's trained throughout the year or so you get to Cape Go. Oh boy I got to get in shape. I try to train throughout the year and then I get to Cape Cod and go. I better get in shape right. Yeah Lauren will I was also in Cape. Cod briefly didn't do a triathlon when that smugglers ice cream instead almost every night ice cream delicious the best where'd you stay in Elizabeth's grandmother's home. Oh Wow that's quite it's next year next year. When you come to the Cape. You'll come do the triathlon. Maybe I'll change yeah with you on an Edward would you sorta homebound had the most eventful summer of any of us. I spent five weeks a love seat battle data surgery. I had a I had a knee injury that sort of a ball rolling downhill at blew up on me and I had knee surgery the week after we wrapped game of games what kind of knee surgery knee replacement surgery Mary. I went ahead and I got a new knee. Put into where the old knee was. That's a big deal. Yeah thing I'm hearing more and more about people having hip and knee anyway unbelievable the number of people who have it to me and like everyone you tell they own my mom had it done and she was seventy five and you just think well. This is going to be a walk in the park. It's not or at least it wasn't for me but but it's over and I feel better and we're getting back to health road. How long after surgery ah about two weeks yeah I'd say Andy I was GONNA say this. Andy who was local. Everybody else was traveling. Andy everyday wanted to come see me and for the first week I was like I just can't. I just feel like Shit. I look like shit like I just can't and then and then he my sister was coming to town for for previously planned vacation and Andy came on the day that they arrived and brought us all the most amazing lunch from the sandwich shop in June. It was so nice it was literally the first time I think I got off the couch and went outside and and sat down and it was it was amazing and is when I saw ed it was a real limp and he was wearing a stockton hot and and I thought wow this is going to be a road and then he showed me a little baggie with this is true with what you would think. It's from Home Depot. Some metal hardware like there was this couple of screws. There was what do you call the heck's heck's bolt whatever and it was all what was removed yeah that had some. I had had had a previous knee surgery in my twenties and it looks like what you would find just in a in a toolkit hardware. I might need to see that tomorrow and the surgeon bless his heart. He's a former New Yorker and he go after the surgery he comes in. He said two things that I remember in the hospital. He said he goes. I don't normally do this but I have to show you some pictures of what I took out. Look at this and he holds up US iphone he goes. That's a bone long spur. Look at the size of that thing. It was like it was as big as phone. He goes and of course the screw the one screw that was in there. I wish stripped he was but I got it. You know I got it. I got a vice my God. The guy had to go down to his car are up and take it into the or. I have to get out his name is Dr Robert Clapper and he is amazing as bedside manner is amazing then he and I have I have a body that doesn't fully cooperate with anything and he's just been phenomenal and now I'm nine weeks out did not miss a day of work which is very it's true and I feel really good to go but I feel really good. I've served on it so there you go how where where we own the podcast that is insane. It's let's talk about average. Andy love averaging average. Andy initially was a writers idea. Yeah man they even had the theme song. Give Troy's idea and b.j wrote the the theme song and still get the residual every time we use it. Wow does he really twelve dollars. That's amazing to keep doing it just for be well. I think we might have done our last episode. I Yeah I think tennis was good. I met with you better at stuff. We could stop as your average just trying the help you. This is going to be an endless wrong. Sean our staff pitches average. Andy ideas they sure do and then we pitch them into. Andy and he rejects nine out of ten. Even the truth is he rejects all of them and then a couple of them were able to talk him back into and invariably when when he does them I would say maybe not every time but most times he's happy that he did it when it's all over and in this case we wanted him to go to the US open to play I tennis with some of the greatest tennis players on earth. Yep and he wasn't really sure he wanted to put himself in that position no and then he went and he had a fantastic time didn't you yes I. I ended up having a good time because reading about it right now. No I ended up having a good you know I I was nervous because tennis is not really my sport. What is your sport. That's a good question but I ended up being sort of more than participating in it. What I like to do is watch. People who are really gifted really gifted at something and so that's cool is to be around them but he's he andy in his anxiety is is very self off deprecating but he's also really funny and so he just spontaneously very funny so pain in a moment that happens in the tape piece yes that wasn't planned for that. The writers didn't right but happened and was one of the biggest laughs at the whole thing. Your pants fell down yeah well. What happened is when you you watch the piece. You're not watching it. Necessarily in the order that things happened but basically what happened was we were supposed to do the playing tennis portion at a certain time and then suddenly I I was told Oh my God we're doing the tennis now and I jump into some thing that they make me change in and I throw everything on not knowing that those pants chance had lace that you need to tie. I pulled them up like gym shorts. They would've microphoning what could make that mistake. I run around around and the shorts took a little bit of a fall. Thank God you're wearing some sort of Spanish word. Let's throw provides me with some SORTA. SORTA spank show that was like a full girdle. I didn't know what was worse. That's why I was like. We're not using this use came down. I'm also wearing some some sort of compression. You look some sort of professional. Learning other may have worn in the fifties yeah so oh my Gosh God. It's a great piece was really really funny but here's a little clip of Andy Being Andy and and then you should go to your DVR and check it out on the show because it's really really fun I hi how are you took that twenty three and me tests you know the DNA thing and it said this is true that I had the same makeup as an elite athlete Asman so my question to you. I don't play tennis but if I started right now once a week for an hour how long till I could play in something like this in a tournament Jordan Mike. What would it be unfortunately really yeah so we need to do congratulations on winning. Wimbledon thank you. That's a huge deal. Yeah well special where it's very similar that way because last year a lot of people didn't think we would win the daytime. Emmy for best show which I'm sure you know and that that was so we're we both are under the lights and we know pressure okay so here's what I have. I have a backhand forehand serve. I WANNA point clear. Where do you get the score. Grow Jewish summer camp the only time I played. Show me your forehand. Oh you follow through to the base case. You guys saw all that. He put his arm around. We full on how to ghost moment. What does it feel like to be ranked number one in the world. I've never been ranked anything at anything. I think we're pretty pretty good and what you do. Of course you're with Ellen every morning..

Yeah first of all obviously credit goes to missy for allowing me to participate in on her and kind of recreate that timeless moment you've gotten in a lot of attention since then you have a million followers right conveniently. I reached a million soon after you re shared the clip so all right so so I thought we would take a Selfie so we can add more so let's do office is awesome all right ready colored to all right. I heard that you downsize i. I heard that you got rid of all of your worldly possessions. What made you want to do that. Oh I think it's very simple. The simpler your life is the more more room you have for your health and relationships to flourish and it was very easy to sort of go as as wild wild and luxurious as the entertainment industry can seem to be again. That's how much I WANNA counter. It and I can fit all my belongings in in my car and you just have this weightlessness. And what did you do with all your belongings donated. Oh that's good. 'The Kitchen' cooks up a half-baked mob drama

"Frank gonna start off with a Melissa McCarthy film called the kitchen almost everyone has been anything but have babies two men have forgotten what family means so we remind now a few minutes ago we were talking about Melissa McCarthy awhile she's generally known for and a silly comedies she's actually a pretty good actress what about this movie yeah she is a pretty good actor she was in a film last year of live action and and the powerful drama will you ever forgive me in which she played a an author who got into trouble for faking biographies of people this is another drama and she's good in it Tiffany had issues in it too a comedian whose turn to dramatic acting this is about three wives of mob figures in nineteen seventies New York who take over the protection of racquets after their husbands get sent to prison and they become powerful mob figures in hell's kitchen which is what the film is named after this is based on a comic book series actually and it's rather than being edgy and and very deep it's sort of pulp fiction trashy but it's kind of entertaining trash if you know what I mean it's it's not a terrible movie is not a terribly good and perceptive one either but McCarthy and had a sure very good and it is an excellent supporting class cast in it as well but you have to be ready to accept some pretty graphic violence in this movie this is not an easy movie to watch in some of the sequences so you should be forewarned about that it's a kind of a medium grade movie but if you're in the right frame of mind you might find it

Disney+ Will Reboot Four Fox Movie Franchises

"Us about disney's plans to boot several popular fox properties so disney snitch chief robert iger announced on an earnings call with investors that the studios developing several reboots and reimagining of fox's family friendly hits including being titles like home alone ninth museum dairy of wimpy kid and cheaper by the dozen and these reboots would be debuting on disney plus according to a new report from collider rider so these are fox's most recent <hes> family friendly hits apart from cheaper by the dozen which is actually slee remake in a ended of itself so and it seems like disney plus is building its titles original content to be largely reboots reboots in a sense <hes> and <hes> recognizable i._p. In addition to this there are also seeing some disney live action makes his animated films like lady and the tramp as as well as just the marvel and star wars titles but <hes> that seems to be the strategy that disney plus is going forward in the coming streaming wars. I mean that's kind kind of depressing isn't it that that disney acquired fox just to sort of push off some of these like remix fox properties onto disney plus yep <hes> they can't just have these <hes> these classics on their <hes> streaming platform as in the archives to slap the disney brand and on it and put a little twist up apparently <hes> the home alone reimagining for example would <hes> put a twist on the story and make it without a husband and wife could go to with a young boy who has stolen something from them so that's something along the lines of what will likely be seeing with these remakes interest. It's not even home alone yeah. What what a bizarre. That's like a yeah. It's a totally different concept. They could just make you know original movies themselves but you know you gotta have that i._p. I guess 'cause that's disney strategy and they're making a lot of money from it hub so brad. I was going to throw to you and say. Is there any hope that these projects addicts could be you know maybe better than we think and maybe not quite as crass as we're making them out to be but that particular <hes> synopsis or description of what they're planning to do with home alone get makes me even more worried than i was. You know thirty seconds ago do you do you even with that in mind do you. I think that there's any chance that these are going to be like worth seeking out or do you think it's just mining these properties for name recognition alone. I mean there's always a chance when it comes to stuff like this. I i've tried to be a little more understanding and less judgmental <hes> when it comes to remakes re boots. There have been some really good remake reboots. There've been some really bad remakes in reboots and so there's always a chance that they could figure something out. <hes> disney does have a lot of talented people working for for them and a lot of people who want to work for them so it wouldn't have their own possibility for you know some of these movies to work. I just wish that they would you know invest their time in making the things that really haven't been done yet or at least adapting more interesting stories that come from other you know media i see this slate the titles and i can't help but get frustrated that they scrapped the mouse guard adaptation which looked fantastic <hes> all in favor of doing you know more remakes like this so that is frustrating rating but i kind of just a wait and see scenario for me. I i don't know what to expect from the quality of these movies that will go into disney plus but i guess i'll will be hoping for the best a._t. Do we know any other like notable information about any of these particular projects or is it still too early to talk about casting and stuff like that. It's still a little too early <hes> home alone remake is a reboot is the one that we have the most information on apparently a brat scribe. Dan mazer is being i to direct the film while melissa mccarthy is reportedly being to star in it as one of the parents so so but other than that we don't know if that's settled yet

"For her movie, the kitchen with Elizabeth moss and haddish, Billy said that she wanted to come and scare Malysz yeti that doesn't happen everywhere, Kev, you do a good job, scaring know who doesn't think you do. Good job. Well, sometimes Ellen tells. Don't come around far enough. Right. So it's, it's not it's not easy. There's an approach to scare people. Artist type. It's easy to be in a box, and pop up. See, I was going to say have the I have the easiest one because I can only see where I'm going right. Let these people are popping out. The person is. Only one place, so. Well, that's true. Billy, Billy, I wish had never done this before I had never done, our particular kind of scared. She had not. And oh my God. She nailed it. She was fan test. You certainly no bigger fan of Billy Allison this room than me. But let's be clear. I don't know about that at the scares going to work. Yeah, that's true. It's going to work because I go go Billy was so, okay. So here's a taking credit for the share for Ellen. Scare of Billy eyelash, Melissa McCarthy. So we'll, we'll shoot will play the clip of the scare we'll play the clip of the of the scare of Billy is scaring, Melissa McCarthy Elizabeth moss, and Tiffany, haddish. But go to your DVR 's watch it watch Melissa McCarthy may still be shaking. She. Oh, she it was hilarious. And then watch what Elizabeth moss does as, as she also get scared. She tries to sort of hide fine Tiffany haddish sort of underneath kaddish Melissa was huge Billy fan and wanted to be in a in a video. So we kind of made that happen. Billy knew she was wasn't sanctioned by Billy. I don't think she was hankering for forty eight year old mother to be video, but it happened. We made it happen. Have you heard from her? I haven't somebody's I think she put it out. So I'm hoping that, that she's okay with it. I think she's pretty funny and her mom, I think I said, maybe this for her mom, was my first improv teacher, who is amazing. So they were I think this came out. They were on tour. Do you know that if she probably? What, what if you knocked me out? Like. Oh my holy. Hanging out in a minute. And she's going on tour. So she she rushed to do. This is a favorite. Can you got? She's an okay. Everyone knows Ed is in the ear of whoever's doing the scaring, and gives them the queue of when to join. So if the team is always been. And when I do this, that's when he should cure, and then she will start to do that. And I will cure and then elommal stop doing that. And then. It wasn't ready. Canto back to. Right. You can't go is go. I would say no one consistently disappoints. Ellen as much as that. For sure I would say consistently. I think. I think if we look over the span of the sixteen years. Yeah, yeah, you're correct. Okay. Thanks confirm. We're also busy with the show during the week. It's hard to find time to fit in hot breakfast. "Today's the day we have to MD's coming on today to talk r I n d is Dr Patel. Her new book is out. It's called the oil solution. Treat chronic pain, anxiety, and som- Neha and more without the high. So this is a book that includes over forty recipes for edibles and wellness products and wonderful things that you can do right in your own kitchen. And so Dr Patel has been internationally recognized as an expert in the field of medical medical cannabis. She teaches her patients how to use oil to relieve their symptoms transform their health and live a better quality of life. And it is such a pleasure. Dr welcome to the program. Thank you for having me. I have to just ask you a question. I don't know if you heard the news story that. Melissa McCarthy has been using her stylist recommended CBD oil for her feet after all of the awards the awards shows her feet were really really killing her and her stylist said, well, we just have to start using CBD oil on your feet, and so she's been using CBD on her sheep. Well. It became a featured segment on one of the morning shows this week where all the experts that they interviewed. Including many of your colleagues with with all due respect that said there's no evidence. This is absolutely at field that we just don't know enough about we need to have more evidence. It may sound good. But I couldn't believe that a major network. I would even say that at this point in time about the Canada. Dial portion the CBD the non high version of this plant, and I'd love for you to comment on that. Yeah. I mean, look granted there there. There is an EPA thicken amount of evidence. At the fact of the matter is it better work expect when it comes to muscular pink. He'll for multiple hours at a time. The muck are gonna hurt and. Been shown very affected force back. Tippety specifically in patients who have multiple imagine just have severe the cramping gives that they experience. Yes. Something like that. It's not certainly affected for for some cramping that you have in your heat treated, thousands of patients at this point. And for me. Know that the evidence is very obvious that my patients have experienced I I have to tell you have after doing this show for over two years. Now, I absolutely agree with you. But I also think that there is evidence we have been studying this plant for a very long time. Other countries are leaders and pioneers, as you all know as you are as you know, Dr. In Spain leading pioneers, Israel. Oh my gosh. They the forerunners in Israel. They are truly the pioneers. So we do have some studies. We do have evidence. We do have clinical. This is not just take this. This is also it is a lot of it is anecdote, but the question becomes who. Do you trust with the information, and it's very confusing when? Information is put out there. That's not correct. Yep. I agree with you. And it's actually important because it's an onion regulated industry. So anybody can you out any crap out of their mouth, and you know, there there's no one to say that hey that wrong or there's no one out there to regulate what they're saying. Okay. You have to turn to have knowledge and experience in the field, right knowledge faith on on research and experience from actually tweeting people your particular condition, and with move particular symptom the other area where what's important to go to knowledgeable company is in the quality of the product. Obviously product that you're purchasing. Yes. Show that seventy percent. New product little does. Could be buying overpriced bottle of Oliver coconut oil, and and and and get no effect from it. But that's another area where you've, you know advocates swimming is willing to pay attention because it's not a regulated industry. Okay. That's the main thing to look for are the are the main way to look for that. Laboratory tests results laboratory should be done a third party lab. One sec lights and five state. Okay. Oscar nominations 2019 predictions: From A Star is Born to Roma

"Eight. I saw green book most recently, which I thought was great that may end up being my pick to to win the best picture. You've seen all best picture movies except for Roma. So you've got Black Panther black klansman bohemian rhapsody, by the way, Adam Lambert and Queen are going to perform Sunday, that'd be cool. That'll be really lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper performing. Which will also be cool. You really cool the favorite green book Romo rumour, aroma. Tony Romo model a star is born and vice. And who you picking unpicking green book to win because I think it made you feel the best and it was well done a period piece based on a true story, Rome. I think is getting a lot of a lot of buzz too. But maybe the director Affonso who also I think one best picture for gravity in our best director in two thousand thirteen for gravity Black Panther, which I know dragon scene for sure is definitely the best of all the marvel movies ever made. And it's interesting because it was such a big deal about their cast being all black the director and writer Ryan Kugler African American and so I'm surprised that he wasn't nominated for best director as well, Spike, Lee. This is his fifth nomination for best director. He's never one. But I'm picking green book to win that wouldn't be surprised if Roma does I loved bohemian rhapsody. But you remember when it came out, and we talked about they took some liberties with the story joke that Freddie Mercury doesn't die of aids in the movie because I remember making that joke. They changed a bunch of stuff around in that movie. Why did you read the bio and Freddie Mercury? I talked to friends that have seen it the no a lot more about Queen and the timetable with how the movie plays out and how he got in the band and stuff, but it's an entertaining movie. What's the best movie you've seen this year because I'm picking green book to win? I haven't seen any of them, by the way. So I got nothing. Oh. Yeah. Set a best picture you haven't seen Black Panther either. No. But are you a superhero movie guy? No, not at all. No. I I haven't seen any of those. I'm gonna say that I I like bohemian rhapsody a lot and I'm not a huge Queen fan. But I really liked it. But I'm gonna go with the stars four stars born it was it was really really I think the biggest reason reasonable win. Cathy, is that it's already been this is the fourth. They've done this story. I know that they've tweaked it. I didn't lady Gaga is gonna pull the upset for best actress, I hope so I you know, it really really made me like lady Gaga put her in a total different category fro. Yes. She's fantastic. A great singer. But you know, I I like her music, but I never put her like on this pedestal you've tried to act not try you weren't actor try. That's a bit of a stretch. But yeah, but the point is imagine the first real you ever play you get nominated for an Oscar, and I get that she's playing a struggling musician, and she can easily identify with that and go back to what it took to get discovered and all of that. And and you know, toiling in nothing jobs hoping for that break, but to execute that onscreen, and she was she was the best part of the movie by far Bradley Cooper is really good. But I hope she wins. Even though Glenn Close, it's seven nation. She's never one. So she could be a lifetime achievement kind of winner. If you will she's phenomenally talented, she s I don't know. But I liked Ramey. Malik as I think he's going to go. I mean, he did a great impersonation. So let's go actor in a leading role, you got Christian bale? Vice Bradley Cooper, a star is born Willem Defoe at eternity gate. Remmy Romney Malik bohemian rhapsody Vigo Mortenson green book, jussie smollet for the Chicago hope. Very funny. Avi next next year. He'll get one for that bright. Yeah. Like when Golden Globes. Yeah. So that it plus you're combining acting and singing did he really singing. Oh, okay. So we he was acting like a cigarette. Huber really saying. Yeah, he did having Adam Lambert seeing at the goal K, so okay. And at the Oscars, maybe Bradley Cooper, then because he's singing and acting and this is any directed it. This is Bradley Cooper's forced nomination as an actor, and he's never won Christian bale. One once Willem Dafoe. This is his fifth nomination. He's never won. And I don't I know Vigo Mortenson hasn't won. And certainly Rami Malik first nomination. Still picking me Malik to win. I thought he was great. Actress in a leading role you have low LIZA appereciation from Roma. You have Glenn Close. Everybody knows here from the wife Livia Coleman from the favorite lady. Gaga stars born Melissa McCarthy, can you ever forgive him in a more serious turn not a not a comedic role. She's awesome. The best lady Gaga for that. I think it's upset Glenn Close as the heavy favorite. But I'm I'm pulling a lady Gaga upset as my pick feel like Glenn Close because she's been around. So long performance is great. And then maybe it's like her turn kind of thing. Maybe and, but they did it lady Gaga's gonna keep acting and have another shot seems far-fetched at this point. Right. So is leader thirty. So, but how come Bradley Cooper, gene, get a directing because he did for American sniper? So that's about those are the biggies right there. Yeah. Supporting actor and actress, Marcia Lee who is in green book, I bet you. He wins a second. You don't want to talk about making hairstyling best animated feature. Incredible to come on. I don't know about best editing. The spider verse hairstyling best song song about best picture. Or did. We did that already songs. Best. The song. Okay. What are your choices? I don't see all the stars Black Panther. I'll fight RV g the place where lost things go. Mary. Poppins returns. Shallow. A star is born when a cowboy change Spurs for wings, the ballot BUSTER Scruggs, and that's different from original score original scores of music throughout the movie right songs. I think it'll be almost impossible. For lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper not to win. I think they win. Okay. We're we're out of time. I'll watch part of it. Yeah. It's like a four hour show. Four hours. It's hard to it gets here. It's one of my favorite my favorite nights of the year. I used to always do with my mom. That guy picks. I'm that guy. I have a couple of friends getting together to watch the show. I get it. I mean, if you watch I haven't seen all the movies. I wait to watch him on the Denver Broncos play. Year later used be all the movies. It'll be of several of these. Oh, I gave did your wife end up watching bohemian a couple times guide and really liked.

Yeah. Little Kate Hudson school carpal action. Yeah. Off with Kate. Hudson was talking to Kate this morning. All of those things are true in all of those things happen. I have the most famous friends but McCarthy, you meet other celebrities. Oh my God. Most McCarthy has two daughters. I happen to have two daughters. But Melissa McCarthy has found herself the mother of two daughters who are playing basketball, and she has found herself now in the stands being the mother she always feared that she might be in terms of how she reacts while her kids play basketball. So listen to that now. And then after you hear it, you're gonna wanna see it to go watch it on the show. So there how do I know? I asked you that every time and George turning nine this week, George is the she's gonna turn nine she's she's the she's a little one. That's just always ready for war. Yeah. "And all of a sudden, there's thirty five people there in your naked for four hours. So it was it was fun though. Comfortable cool said we were just jumping and doing crazy things. And you look at the proofs and say, well, we can't use that one. Could use. And you know, I mean like your powerful guy, and you wonder why you can keep going when they're trying to tackle you. And then you see those legs. And you're like, oh, you're very very strong. I mean, your arms, I always look at your arms every time you play because do you wear shorter sleeves in the other guys because your armed somehow stick out more. I I do. So I actually have them. I got my guy new. He's a manager who takes care of me. And I always like it cut extremely super tight. So there's less service area that they could put a hand on me or grab. So I like my it takes two people to put my jersey on literally like afterwards. It's like the worst thing ever after a game getting it on or getting because it's so tight and sweaty without a doubt. Yeah. But we definitely have that going pretty tight could they just grabbed your beard and hall you down. I was watching you throughout the season, and it's sticking out more and more of the it was anyway, don't worry about that. We send Andy to the Super Bowl a couple years ago. And he got too close to you. I think we have a clip of this. So. Juon? I do not remember that. I do not remember that. But. Rescues him on the football field. That's like what's up? It is you know. I mean, it's just a job, buddy. And he hadn't shaved all season long. He had a pretty thick beard. Yeah. Yeah. Ridiculous. Right. Yeah. Not great. Looking looked like it got lost in the woods her. Right. Yeah. Yeah. But the thing about him is that he lets Ellen shave it off for charity. Here's the thing under that beard whole lot of handsomeness, very was never been more buzz about anyone. Yes. Yeah. I mean, the guy so Ellen goes Hooper nice. I know you love the boys and Girls Club a Boston. And if you let me shave your beard, I will make a ten thousand dollar donation and Julian Edelman without missing a beat goes. Okay. But if you're gonna make a ten thousand dollar donation, I'm going to match it because he's a meant we had the Super Bowl MVP last year as well. Yeah. Thing that that makes me so happy is to see the just the genuine, unfiltered, joy, they are in when they. Here. It's like five days later, and he it's like a life highlight that they it's a high. They still have it's so fun to just be near it. Really? Well, they've worked so hard to make it happen. And then it happens in the work is over and now, it's just the enjoying of it. All speaking of all stars Mary. Yes. Oh my gosh. I love I love her so much you do that is show. I love her as well. But it's possible you love here's what I'm gonna tell you generally. In our household were either. Watching a Boston sports team on television. Right or we're watching a Melissa McCarthy movie. Yeah. The one that you, quote, the most I believe is the heat is the heat. Yeah. Keep the heat. There's just so many lines to quote from the the heat like. You got burned you got burned big drunk, Patty. Knows what she's doing my favorite is from bridesmaids when she says I'm gonna climb him like tree. Funny. And when Melissa McCarthy was on the set, we show it a photo of her from bridesmaids, which was just hilarious, and the outfit the character that she had created made Melissa McCarthy laugh like she was like, oh my God a memory. These people were. They were human in in their mistakes than not villains. You know, they did something illegal. They did something that was kinda shitty. But you know, they you, you know, you're not meant to root for them. But you don't think that they're bad people? They're just very flawed people, man. And I know she was a bad person. She was I never got anything. She was a bad person. I thought that she was you know, she had a problem socializing with people. And you know, what she did with this? Because he had a problem socializing. She couldn't get you know, she couldn't write too. Well, and people didn't want to give you know, she, and I get it 'cause she was rude to people. She new opportunities to not if she just kept going just keep. Like, I say, I that's what I was saying that meant to like her really, I didn't hate her. You know, something where I didn't feel bad for yet. That's exactly it. You know, there's somebody who's doing something bad. And you you have sympathy for them. It's a weird I feel bad for you. But I don't feel bad for you. Because you have to know where the no tell you how belter this. I feel bad for you. But I can't wait for your call. Okay. Yeah. Need to be stopped. But there, but those. And I was glad to see them. Get a nomination. I thought the movie would be so small because I already kinda settled for to get snubbed in everything. Yeah. But because it's so small, and it didn't really have a big theatrical run. But I love both of them in there. And he really did still the show when he when he was when he popped up on the screen. I like the movie a lot. Let me ask you this. What's up did she receiver? So from a life of the party. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. She did. Remember, that's he's Biegman's. Every time you go to like, all right? I'm done with her. Yes. She doesn't my business. Can't can't just let it go. That's why I love this movie to men because I find myself constantly rooting for Melissa McCarthy. 'cause I know she's a good actress, I know, she's very talented. She's just taking easy paychecks. Are people are just giving her what they know would make money. Sure. And I'm just I'm I'm happy to see her getting knowledge or something that not only I knew she could do. But I thought was a damn good film. "A lot of those questions are answered in the longer video that is available out there. You can see it. It's about two hours worth it shows what was happening before this little showdown between these two the high school student in the native American and different group. Also, the black Hebrew Israelites. In fact, it's one member of that group whose video sort of a more complete picture of what was happening there. Nathan Phillips was the elder with the Mahad tried and he was there with a drum as part of the end digital indigenous peoples demonstration was happening outside the Lincoln Memorial. Nick Sanmen with Covington Catholic high school. Was there waiting for a bus with his classmates? They had been at the national right to life March show was going on. So those three groups kinda came together at one moment on Friday that snap picture that came out on social media on Saturday morning that showed Nathan Phillips in Nick Sanmen. Locked in a stair is. Let's say there's extra security at Covington Catholic high in Kentucky have there been specific threats. Well, we don't know if they've been specific threats, but the prosecutor and the police there in Covington are looking at them, very carefully and they do intend to have extra security there on campus. There are protests planned there at the school as well. Native American groups two of them from Kentucky and elsewhere are planning a demonstration there at the school. That's always been my problem with Hollywood a little bit. What they help out a lot too. Yeah. The one the biggest the midterms with the voting like Hollywood, my issue is a lot of people with Hollywood like they can paint a narrative in like with their followers. And you look at a lot of influential people like they can get people to do some shatman. But my here's my problem with Hollywood, it's a super short attention span. So for one Oscars, it was gender reassignment surgery. And being transgender was something that was celebrated and we're behind you and stuff, then it's Oscars to two white. And now it's like. We're. Let me two minutes, then it's the metoo Melik stuck right? But it's super than it was before that was global warming, and they were making speeches. They tend to go from Asia issue. Well, what I hope we can do is just briefly touch on a bunch of these other great, hilarious things that have followed completing up to. Can you ever forgive me here? The first one released after bridesmaids was a film in which the part you played was originally written for man, but I guess changed for you, which is a testament to people's feelings about you coming off of bridesmaids. Also, I guess a test in a way. How's Melissa McCarthy? Starring central vehicle to play. And the answer was very well open at number one and ultimately gross one hundred thirty five million. This was identified thief that must've been confidence, both third, pretty wild. It was so fun. Bateman is just, you know, he's so funny. He so good and I remember, you know, we met and couldn't believe I was meeting him. I mean, it just seemed kind of surreal that we were talking about like a movie together. I'd never been like to sit and talk about a movie. I was like. Would you like to read them on lock? So that was just a blast. It was really fun later that same year was the heat. We should say that you are playing detective here who ends up partnered with Sandra Milic and back with puffy from bridesmaids. Gross one hundred sixty million dollars fund to have another female female kind of central. That was, I mean, sandy psych truly one of the most awesome people on the planet. So it's just also I kept doing things like this is so fun like this is crazy, right, Tammy, you and your husband had ridden this together, I guess with the always with the hope that you would star in it, he would direct for his debut according to Toby. I'm Rick new line. He said that he saw bridesmaids over the weekend that it came out and then on Monday reached out and said, do you have anything you wanna do and set in twenty two years? He'd never blindly greenlighted anything, but this was the first. Is that correct? It was all pretty fast. If you're. Yeah, it made us like falsely go, like I mega movies pretty. Call. Just call me let you do it. Nobody originally Ben was not supposed to direct, really? Yeah, we, we'd written in, we're producing it and and we just couldn't quite get the right fit. We had somebody in, they dropped out and then it just couldn't get the right fit. And they later we went and you know, it was again Toby that we're like, is it crazy bender exit, like he knows the story. He knows it better than anyone else in. It's not like we can do it. We need tons of help. We don't know how to do this, but we also feel like people were meeting with maybe don't have the same tone because it was a different town. It was more of an independent movie. It was. It wasn't just straight comedy. That one was just remind people your fast food worker who wizard job and embarks on a road trip with alcohol, grandmother, Susan, serandon just generally because it's happened now several times which will touch upon, but what's it like working that closely with your husband professionally? I mean, you obviously done it at the groundlings, but this is same. Same thing. I mean, I think it's why. I mean, it's truly how we met. And why would we became such good friends? Like if I wasn't married to him, we'd probably still be business partners. It's he's my favorite person to write with. I mean, vivid definitely bench. She looks exactly like me and is Ben. And then the younger one looks just like Ben in his me. So the younger one is just always like. Just like girls and the girls. They're very into Halloween and the debate going into what was being made because I always want to make their costumes. I, I only got one question and so there went that but, but yeah, those were a couple and well the, you're well, oh, I have to have to learn to because when a your friends wanted someone who really knows Jamie in black girl nerds, we've interviewed him before as Tyco TD, and he came up and put his arm around Jamie, and we took pictures, and he was so fun. And that was very shocking to me. I'm like, oh, you're the director of Thor. And in you've. Got arm rounding taking a picture, and you're talking to us and your record of Thor. Kiss me. "That she making a lot of meteoric commies where she's the best thing about them and i think audiences are kind of starting to catch on on that same theme for an actress melissa melissa mccarthy larger than life comedic roles over the top a lot of blue language what's what's the future like for for people with with that kind of background and that kind of identification person and you want her to succeed but there's a lot of kind of i guess you could say you go girl moments which sort of empowering a there's nothing wrong with that but it just seems like that's often part and parcel what we see in comedies today where they're putting so much emphasis on that the script in the story and the motivation doesn't seem as bright as it should be think of i think of lucille ball if i think of a comedic actor who had a along very successful career john goodman in his early roles especially with roseanne i mean these were this was a comedic actor but he was able to mature into dramatic actor as well goldie hawn is kind of bounced around at that she kind of did more screwball stuff and then she did more sophisticated dramas melissa mccarthy in the name is escaping she's got a movie out later this year i believe it's based on a true story about a woman who is forging signatures and letters from famous authors in order to make a living and get her career back on track so i'm really curious to see how she does with that kind of parole because this isn't that's not a comedy per se may be comedic elements in it but if you watch the trailer it's gonna check it out the second like the title for you it's a real straight ahead drama and so i'll see if audiences except her for that and if she pulls it off with enough skill that she can do more of those kind of films we talked about amy schumer last week who's similar of melissa mccarthy there's some distinctions but she's also trying to move up to the next level doing dramatic performances.

"And he's right 'cause y'all know me man i can't stand if very me do of melissa mccarthy review i can't stand what she does all this old tripping and falling miss the comedy when i saw that with that have been if she was actually on fire let's see if the movie would end very fun it would have been awesome and not because he was dead but because the moving would have been over but but you know day would have been a bonus that i saw that the trailer no i'm out call me when it's done marta i think that you could probably agree on something about tosses you little bit but i don't wanna make this personal because it's not anything is melissa mccarthy i don't wanna come across as me spirited but i can tell you why hate this so much because look i can take bad i love bad movies you know that i bet bad to me sometimes it's good as as a good movie bad is interesting to talk about bad as fun sometimes to talk about bad as fun to watch but i can't take lazy band lazy as five get joe asks up and do something there is shit ms movie where the cameras out of focus they have like lighting looks like it's a soap opera solely in the writing lazy yeah the writing is what i'm talking about the writing to me is just atrocious lazy i feel that while much of it is lazy more of it is incompetent it's it's because like my biggest will not biggest problem with a big problem i have this movie is that is directed about bill benfield cone was her husband so you got nepotism already and you just heard throwing him a bone or the two of them thinking they're funny together and if i say he he's the one who's directed her worst movies you go like come on man which will hunts the worst other words.
