"We haven't seen him now in the care of Henry Drummond. It'll be interesting to see when he reappears. He's bolted up and the reason I would pick him over the alternative, which is the mediator is because Jamie card was just able to look around. Left and right and just had the luxury of doing that. It was like putting the horse in sport mode and just cruising on through. Really like to have heard a lot about them from the point to point scene of a really good point to point expert who feeds me lots of information. And lots of data and this was a worse than his radar. He was too short to back. But you would imagine there will be staying down the bumper with him. I know there are definitely doing that with the media, or I don't know what the plan is with American mic, but maybe we'll find that out from Gordon. When we have the all of a sudden, open day at the weekend, maybe. A very excited to see what they do with them. And if cheltenham, there are say it is on the agenda, but certainly, in the meantime, I'd love to see him at leopardstown and various different places like that. So we'll see how it all pans out with them. But American Mike, that's the one I would put into the tracker. As one to follow because surely Willie Mullins will be unleashing talents and Joseph bridal have talents and then when they all meet, it'll be proper war. That's it. We are back with you on Wednesday for our ten to follow special. Thursday, we are Wednesday evening or Thursday. When the evening we're doing the British cup preview. And Thursday, Paul Ferguson is here alongside as we look ahead to the weekend. And then we'll look back on all that on Monday, a few stable tours in there for you as well. But given the fact that literally one of the two nerves, you're only supposed to have one nerve in your leg could snap at any second, leading to more otter torture. We just have to deal with that as it comes along and take the painkillers and get on with it, but yeah hopefully. There will be stable tours coming your way, whether it's this week or next week, just depends on whether or not this nerve snaps as the surgeon told me. Is imminent. That'll be fun. On that bombshell, Alexis told you to go to bed, go to bed, Roy, Larry. Good night. And thank you so much as always, my friend. I don't know what time you're listening to this show up. So don't listen to Alexa. Do whatever you want. In fact, if you are listening to it on the night before the Melbourne cup, just binge watch invasion. On.

"He'll obviously go up in the handicap for this, but the handicap of my decide that the spider room hasn't run before him and not punish him too much for that, but his his effort at Paris on his previous start is very solid form, the pair. He split, and he was given wit to have both one sin to the lit one 30 horses. So he should be around one 40. I think the handicapper will still leave him short of that after this. And he is still a novice. So he's got lots of options open to him. And I think he did really well for the Hamilton society. Okay. The other one I threw in there. I made up the other channel that was so important he looked at entirely different watch this year. The last season and I want to keep him outside as well. Champion hurdle? He's got you running off one four three and I always tell people not get carried away by handicap performances. When you've got to be running to the mid one 60s to be to be a proper champion hurdle more. So I think that's a bit of a pipe dream, but it's possible. He's improved at the right time. He's probably going to be running in a champion hurdle trial in his next start. So we could easily be taking those steps forward. Definitely good enough when a champion hurtled trial if they find that I want them. Yeah. You definitely win that stupid race at senda, anyway. I will go for X pointer and bumper horse and that is American mic who was long odds on, but won a race that Gordon Elliot says farmed over the years, including with last season's champion bumper winner, sir Gerard, who ironically did not run for Gordon for obvious reasons now and the care of Willie Mullins. But he had bolted up in this race world easy work was no longer with this long road who it was is extremely talented, but we haven't seen for since 2020..

"Hurdles and then if chases what you want to do, you're chasing sooner rather than later. So if you do two, three seasons of war hurdles, they tend to jump flat. You know, on horses do get away with it and you do get horses or kids winning top class chases, but it's not. It's not ideal. And I'm also not a fan of switching up what's defense is halfway through a season, depending on how they get on. I think you'd probably come up short in the long walk. I'd like obviously a minute. You know, he's been an absolute fashion horse over the years, but he's just looking a little a little bit low what we've seen in the last year or two. Even taking his issues into consideration. So given his age and given the fact that he doesn't click on demand these days, he's probably got his work cut on, but I'd rather see him on a really good race and finish in the frame and the long walk and stay over hurdles than for him to finish 5th and then go chasing. Not like to see that. I agree with you. This isn't for me. You know, it is entirely up to connections. And I would never be in a situation where I say you must not do this. You pay, you pay the bills, you make the call. But personally, I prefer not to see him go chasing at his age because I don't think it's massively beneficial. I think he'd be I think obviously he'd be able to you could play some to win with the reference as well too much trouble as an office. And then you're not that far away from me to be able to run him in veterans chases. Qualify for veterans chances in January. Yeah. So you want to give them an easier time with things. That's a way of doing it. But the very fact that you can say that sentence, he could run in veterans chases in the spring. And he hasn't seen a fence is maybe a sign that that's probably not the ideal thing to do. Yeah, exactly. And look, it's not a 14 situation Williams raised eyebrows when he said that the punches sound first of all. I could chase them beforehand next year. Yeah. What? But he did and started. He started his career over fences that season. It's a different story. I completely agree with you, if you're going to start over hurdles, particularly run twice over hurdles, and then go, oh, let's go chasing. It's different if you start out over fences and do an about turn bouvier style and go actually maybe we're better off of our hurdles. That's it completely different topic. And it's a different thing because you're learning about the horse and going, you know, might be better to do this. This is a stairs hurdle champion. We're talking about. He's clearly not at that level, but it was interesting to hear both Aidan Coleman directly after the race. Andrew Campbell is an absolute gentleman and an absolute legend. And as you said, it's not for us to tell them what to do. But in terms of betting and backing the horse, this is the conversation that we can have. If Andrew decides, they want to go chasing. That's fine. But he was saying just how well the horse was working in the lead up to the race on Thursday. I was pundit and ruper bell was presenting I was presenting on Friday. He was my pundit with Declan Rick's casting, and we had Rachel king the Australian jockey. Sorry. The English jockey who's based in Australia now has a full blown Australian accent bidding for history when the Melbourne cup and beyond the second woman to do so. Oh, max dynamite. How you should have won. How you should perform the Mel Bronco. But I really don't like the idea of let's go for another hurdle race and then go chasing when he's gonna be ten in the new year. It's just not the way to do it. But Aidan Coleman was saying, look, maybe he'll improve from this race and we'll see what he does in the long walk. And I would love to see him come back, but I think you either stick with what you have or don't I think changing now would be a bit of a dilemma. I saw Ricky getting into it on social media. Given Harry skeleton, the what for? For example, on getting slammed by bulky Lee. And a number of trolls, you know who you are. And a number of others. I have to say that he was very confident about chambal without surname. And he I think at the time, you could get 5 to two, because I think at the time he was 5. And that was Friday. He's ended up going off two to one favorite for the race. And that in itself tells its own story because I would like to deal with will obviously give fusion ruthless full price. But I want to deal with the puzzle that is surname. So he's drifted in the bedding it's not the first time we've seen this, he drifted like a barge when he took on LTR and slammed them. He won this race last year when being vindication horse we've already talked about, but he's now been pulled up, pulled up, had wind surgery, offered 252 days, comes back for this. Pulled up. And while he was very bold and prominent early on, he has folded like a cheap texture. How worried would.
"melbourne cup" Discussed on The Final Furlong Podcast
"Sound or unsound, it was the right thing to do to pull him up because if you don't feel like something's right, then you have to stop and he did say that the horse completely lost his action. But and as you've reported the shoes were gone and he was lame on his left hand, but he'll be back, though. He was obviously the big talking point going into the race. I did I was going to come back to double back to him afterwards, but he's a horse maintains a lot of intrigue and maintains a lot of potential. Like that second to surname when certainly was informed remains high on the short list. But at the same time, there's still just a little doubt in the back of my mind about them. So it would have been nice to see him come back here and win. But that being said, he hasn't in any way been able to run his race. Yeah, it's worth punching guns out as well that Kim Bailey is normally pretty reliable at this stage of the season, has had quite a few horses running over jumps in the last week or two disappoint at ascot a hero and one of the rules he also pulled up on the day. The only horses that have run pretty well from the yard have been in bumpers. As far as roommate had a massive chance on the figures in the colon Parker memorial, he was well doing third in the end. So the Billy yard, not quite not quite firing for whatever reason, but hopefully, I mean, Kim has been around since the late 70s. Pretty much the senior jumps trainer and I saw that he came back and forth. He's one of life's survivors. But this is a decent contest. I was curing all the enforcer. Who had put up a big price and he managed to sneak a better place money having gone off in front. I thought that was a, I thought it was an interesting approach from Gavin Xi. And I'd say on balance, it was the it was the right decision. It's a strong travel of land force. He's never hasn't always lived the strongest area of two and a half miles has been where he's shown his best form to do it. But he's an interesting project for new connections this year. And I was trying longer running in the marybel stable. Ireland's colors. This is a reminder. It's time to go to bed now. Thank you, Alexa. I've got a bad as soon as I'm done with this. This.

"I'm Kevin the ready's already for the Melbourne cup. Thanks for watching to Tim carwin. We'll hear from him. Again, during the week. Another international funnel from podcast, special. There's also stable tours coming your way. And we're doing our tent to follow special for the jumps. So tell her back. And we will be doing a number of TensorFlow specials with our good friends. We love working with them, as I said, Spotify. No brainer. There is some other news that we need to talk about, but we'll do that on another day. But on that show, which we're recording on Wednesday will be a certain Rory's a gravy, or as he's known in the Irish field, Rory zellar he joins me now I talk back on the weekend section, Rory. How are you, my friend? On ground Emma, tell me you have picked up the same thing as me. Back injury. I didn't think it was actually something that could be transmitted over the microphone. I didn't think it was an allergic reaction that you could pick up. So, sorry about that. It's obviously my fault. I'm just sitting in the same spot for a 5 hour podcast. Tim Carla was fine. He was just and that might be the longest year we've ever done. Which may lead to more Australian content, by the way, so yeah, shout out to the folks in Sydney. Sydney, we love you. Right. We're talking jumps racing. We've decided we're not going to discuss any of the flood. We're just going to talk about jobs racing. And we'll start with down royal. And the lab works champion chase, which went to briny frost, which must have, well, you could see it in her face and you could see I think every time Brian you wins a big race. It's a very emotional thing for her, but obviously there's been an awful lot going on. And winning a big grade one on a horse that she gets on so well with I don't think it's the case with briny that she's restricted to ocean she only gets on well with black ordnance. She only gets on the program. She gets on well with pretty much any worse you put her on. She's very, very talented jockey. But this meant an awful lot to her. And particularly, when you've got Jamie card, bearing down on you, and you've been making all and you're not fluent at a couple of fences and you managed to hold on and win. Shout out to our old friend Ricky. He called us exactly on talks for two on Friday when I was presenting alongside Lizzy Kelly. Ricky always guessed what this on Friday and he was very, very bullish the fraud on would win. How taken were you, Rory? With Frodo's performance. And for that matter, I thought this was a serious effort from galvin. The reappearance of the gold cup winner and a multiple grade one winner as well in delta working behind. So talk to me, my friend. What did you make of the race? This is the reminder. Oh, don't do the next thing. Alexa stop. That's from ironic. What was she reminding you of that? She was the reminder was don't be rude Alexa. I thought that. I think you'll find this is what it's like to have to have children of a certain age, certainly. That's not bad. Yeah. Just switch to Siri mate. Just switch this area. I'm telling you. Your life will be home pods, homepods in every room is just so much better. And also if you have Apple TV and you connect homepods to them or you use the Apple AirPods max, the headphones that go fully over your ears. Oh my God. Full Dolby atmos. It's just it's unbelievable. So can I just quickly shout out a new show? Called invasion. Every episode drops on Fridays. If you like The Walking Dead, it's not about zombies, but it is about an alien invasion. And they do it really really cleverly. It's very different countries, and the impact that is happening around the world through the eyes of these certain individuals. Including Sam Neill great the great thumbnail. So there's your early recommendation for a TV show. All right, talk to me about king George. Back with a win. Listen, the most important thing is about this race is that it was one of the most gripping chassis I've seen in two decades. An absolutely fantastic contest. We talk a bit small fields and how we need more runners to make good risks. But what you need is just two or three horses who are genuinely competitive. I don't know race where no quarter was asked. And none of them either. A tremendous fraud on doing what he does best. He's just a wonderful horse to watch when he's on song. And Brian was at her very best as well, there are tremendous partnership. I know that's a bit of a cliche, now. But just watching watching replays of this race, you've got there's an awful lot of anti briny sentiment from Irish wristbands who felt that some for a long time Rachel blackmore wasn't getting the credit she deserved. Brian frost is on the same league as Richard blackmore. And of course, I have no part of that argument. They're both fine Jeff is a racial, really took things to a new level when she was championing Jocko Joel. May I call that in the spring? But Brian is sure that on her day, she's a much for anyone. I think she might rule ritual here. That very rarely happens. Tactical writing. But Brian was very clever here. She got a full on doing what he does best. But she knew there were horses in here who could beat her and she knew she had to do something slightly different to go forward on home in front. She has invited racial blackboard up the inside of around our final band and then just closed the door a little bit on her. And you could see that that's definitely had a bit of an effect on metadata. I think largely needed Iran. Not the easiest ones to get fit. And I think you needed the wrong more than more than the other major contenders. But he still looked at baklava for a long way, trade adults on and running as did galvin galvin and moved up coming to the last fence seemingly traveling better than fraud on. But again, Brian's managed to talk to superb John by the fraud, not the last. And he's dug really deep as he tends to do. When he's competitive, he's very hard to pass. There are certain he had been risks sometimes where things were against him and running with the Ryanair couple of years ago where he got so shuffled back. And he's still not what I want to back for a gold cup. But he showed why he's won so many good races over the years with this display. When he when he has things in his favor, when he's able to dictate he's a very, very good horse. And this was the perfect setup for him smallfield. Three mile race early in the season where he had that fitness event advantage over the best horse and the race. And he's just he's just a little bit too cute for a Calvin for galvin rather than the finish. A tremendous race to watch because you really had an L and D one going out of Cameron's homes for most of the race. Or perhaps captain mice not because that's not a hammer and songs. Galvin and Delta were sat off them. Galvin loomed up looking a massive threat. And a great wife from Jimmy Carter. But Brian won out in the end. And again, just to see how much this horse means to her, the reaction that of Brian at the end of the race is tremendous to see as well. But fraud on an absolute star. He really is. It might have taken a few while to want to,.

"Then at AR comes along. It's there to be real. It's got to happen one day in the Melbourne cup store lag team will have a winner. But the most importantly Pearson is your each way bet and he was third to incentivize last beaten 5 and a quarter lengths which big and flat racing. But Pearson would be your each way back. Most firms are paying 5 places over here. And if they're not shame on you, in fact, there are some who are paying 6, which is very, very different to what you would get in Australia. But this all comes down to incentivized for you. I think so time form waked one 28 on him after the caulfield cup now. I know the guy is down there to do the time form ratings and I promise touched on this in the previous show. They're very conservative. I think some places right a little bit higher than others. And I wouldn't say Australia at the bottom of the heap, but I don't think there is high as some of the ratings you get elsewhere. If they're put in one 28 on this horse, he's a serious wait for aids force anywhere in the world. Let alone the strides with a mile and a half by the way. That's where you enter the right team. So he's definitely a group one horse going around in a handy camp. Okay, he's toward the top of the weight. He's number two on your program, but I don't think you'll have any problem here in the way. Apparently you got for the Melbourne cup of kilo and a half, which is about three and a half pounds. He'd be definitely earned that. I know it's really boring, but sometimes, you know, it's a little bit silly if you go against the obviously. He runs up to the level he showed in the core field cup. I don't think certainly the locals can't beat him. Put it that way, which basically means you've got two others. They have Twilight payment and also, of course, Spanish. Spanish mission from the Andrew gold. And yet, he was a really interesting runner. I quite like him last year, but they decided not to take him last year to build him up a little bit. So yeah, and you look at his forum, he has only a head behind and that was four run the race, because only head behind straight the barriers last time. And the start before that, he finished third in the ascot gold cup when he finished in front of the strada virus. I mean, that's pretty good form. Very good form, and he also passed the additional test that he had to overcome on Saturday and writer correct Williams was saying he had no doubt that he would, because he was feeling great. So it's the Spanish mission is there. Sorry for Ishmael Muhammad, the things didn't quite work out for him. It's a real shame. Look, we don't have the international interest in terms of Charlie appleby and Aiden O'Brien that we've had in recent years, but it is still the race to stop stimulation. It is a race that is coming under severe pressure. And if you think that doesn't matter, oh, that's only down in Australia. Believe me, if it's happening there, it will eventually happen here. So we need to support the Melbourne cup and racing in Sydney as much as we possibly can. And couldn't have a better person on board. To talk about it. So incentivize is going to win. But I want something at a bigger price. So I'm going to Pearson. I'm going to follow you in and sir Luke and will be my one two three. What's your one two three four? Well, I will call it instead of on top. I will put person in for second. Twilight payment. I do think even though he's a year older, even though he goes off to a wider city he's the wrong age and he's got the wrong sort of handicap now as well, but I do think he's going to run a heck of a race. Spanish mission and very early. And they're only going to run well in this race last year by goodness she's a tough man. She takes in group ones everywhere from 7 furlongs to two miles. She takes them all on. Don't be surprised if she runs well. And people keep saying she needs a wet traction needs a wet track. There's a good three last year and she ran a outside of the top few. She ran as well as anything in the race. So I'd put her in a little mix as well. But a push come to shove incentivize on top person for second Twilight payment for third Spanish mission for fourth. Seating Carroll on Sky Sports racing reedy's content on at the races dot com, a pleasure as always. And we'll be chatting to you again later in the week. Quite looking forward to take care of my friend. Our new international correspondent as opposed to Ivan, who normally, when I don't know if you're aware of this, but our international correspondent did have something to say about incentivize. And that was, well, if he gets beaten,.

"Spotify, which just means the world to us. So thank you so so much for that. It means a lot. But for those who are going to get up at four in the morning and don't want to take two to one and do have the doubts, who would be your best alternative? Well, I think Twilight will run well again. Okay, he's got the wrong way. He's the wrong age, but the bottom line is I think the race will set up for him mister royal nice and low again. He's going to go for what he could lead, he might not, but he will certainly be in the first few. And he's formed this year arguably is better than certainly as good as what it was last year, the second last time out in the allegedly Irish saint leger behind sunny boy liston was an excellent run and the rice will pan out. You would think very strongly for him. If you want one of the bit of a price, and I know a lot of people like a roughly purse and a 12 round, he's got to be a decent chance. He ran so well in this race last year. He sort of the story of the season last season he went from being a maiden to going around in the mountain he came from a long way back on the bend. And he finished 5th in the cup. Now he formed this year. It probably not quite as strong, but he did run very well when third in the caulfield cup. Okay, it was a long way behind incentivized. I have 5 links behind anybody less than two legs off the second. He's in with the light white again, 53 kilos, don't ask me to work that out in pounds, not straight away enough to get on the computer, but he is in with a very lightweight wood carry a very good rider he's from a good yard as well. I think if you go on the machine, I'd say he's probably around about the 33 to one Mark. He'd certainly be my best Rafi. Okay. I think with most sports books, if I could use my mouth words correctly, 9 minutes, 28 seconds from other words. Not including apologies. It could actually be over unders and ten minutes because I'm not sure what the pre roll is from Spotify. So maybe you got done there. Sorry about it. But in the recording, it was 9 minutes and 40 seconds in Spotify and it could very well Apple podcast land. It could very well be ten minutes 30 seconds. But number 12 coming out of stolen 11, is there an importance with the store? Because you look back at previous winners and Rachel was saying that she'd love to be drawn one to ten. And that's I think that's worked out for if I remember correctly. She's going to be on board pandas. Yeah, so she's going to stole one. Is that an important because I go through the historical record of the last ten years? It's not really. Yeah, it kind of depends on the style of the policy you've got. I mean, if I'm on a horse that wants to draw back, I know Peter moody said straight afterwards, it didn't incentivize the kind of glad that he hasn't drawn low because if he had been a little bit slower out of the stalls, even though he's got pace, you'll find yourself three four back on the rails straight away and now all of a sudden you're having a ride your race upside down. So even though he's drawn a little bit higher, I think they prefer to be out there than drawing in one. When you look at it statistically, it's a real mixed bag. The one thing I would say sir lucan, who's drawing in 18, it's the curse barrier. I'm sorry to say it. I haven't backed up yet, so this could be good. And cut from store 18. But given that there's been winners from 7 a.m. and 19, et cetera, I think that that's a little bit more coincidence than anything else. The way it kind of works in the Melbourne cup is you've got a nice long straight run. So you can normally find your spot. Now in the old days before the Europeans came over the Melvin cup, usually what would happen? They'd jump out. They'd go a little bit quick at the start because horses would be trying to find their spot. And then they dropped the anchor because you've got a typical Australian style. You've got a lot of horses that probably wouldn't run much further than a mile and a half. Let alone two mile. So they drop anchor trying to make sure that the horse would see out the trick. The race has changed complexion a little bit in recent years with so many European runners. They don't tend to go as quickly early as what they once did, but they tend to run the race a little bit true, but having said that as we know, we've only got two current Europeans in the race. There's still a fair few ex Europeans, but they get trained differently down there. I think it might be a little bit more like the old style. Melbourne cup and then they'll be able to pay certainly they'll drop anchor and then they'll look the sprint home. Speed angle wise, you've got a few little guy for the 500 incentives will go for it. I think he'll be allowed to roll forward from the outside like when this idea outside he's throwing in 16, but from toward the outside. Obviously, Twilight payments going to go forward. There's one or two others as well. And in fact, it wouldn't surprise me, especially off that lightweight if they go forward on seleucia as well. So I don't think it'll be a cruel or anything like that, but I don't think they're going to bells along. Okay, so the solo can be reasonable each way play and remember Brian told at the start of the season, this was one of his horses to follow for the year. Bombed out on his first start at sundown and then ended up beating wordsworth. And you put in some really good performances. But when he told me, yes, sirloin has been sold. I really shouldn't have stuck with him for the same ledger I should have just went to cash. Kilos, he's got no weight on the bank. Of course, was a broad macabi for all three victories. I mean, one thing about planning is a big money rider. The pressure does and get to him. He's been there. He's done that. He's in his 50s now. He's absolutely the right man for the job plus he can ride a nice lightweight very easily. So you know he'll turn up on the day fit as a malleable. And guy waterhouse now trains as well. So an exact no brain horse surgery. Who unfortunately, of course, we lost this year, but he went down under and ended up wing a massive race. Ironically enough beating the number one trend armory in the process. So it's not impossible that an X 8 and a brown horse can run a massive race. And they've said he's arrived in great order. And he's improved every day. So lucky would be on my mind for an each way despite what you said about the draw. You couldn't win from store one in the Derby,.

"Doing there. We laid scare with him when I was presenting on talks for two on Friday, because I had the honor of chatting to Rachel king. British jockey, who now has a full blown Australian accent. And she bids to make history by becoming only the second woman to win the Melbourne cup. It's her first ever arrived in the race, and she's writing the racing in the Lloyd William colors. And she's an absolute rockstar. Such an issue. And she's primarily based in Sydney. And we talked about this in our Australian special and obviously Sydney have a very different policy to Melbourne. But just briefly before we get your insight into the race. How much pressure is there continuing on the Melbourne cup and the Lexus Melbourne cup? How much pressure is there continuing that you described so eloquently on the last episode of the show from politicians from celebrities and from the local guard shots? I think the entire VRC in the industry over there, the main result they want to want to marry this might, who may win the race, they just want every horse to come back safely. If something touch wood and let's say, it doesn't. If something was to happen tomorrow it would be catastrophic. It really would be. So there's a lot of pressure there, but little type. It's a race for a 24 runners go out 24 runners come home and hopefully not too many hard like stories as well. Well, you know what the sad thing about this is that the likes of people, they want that to happen. They're waiting. They're waiting for us to break down. They're just awful awful people. But as you said, hopefully, all the horses will come home safe and sound and you made a staggering point on the show the last time you were on the death rate in the Melbourne cup is 16, 16. Of the international runners. One in 16 over the last 7 years. One in 16 and as you said, if that was happening in the ark, imagine the pressure that we would be under. And it's not Australian horses who are breaking down. It's Europeans or ex Europeans who are breaking down. So it's a tough one. But look, it's a racer. I love the alarms already set. I'll be up to watch it on sky annoying you're not presenting it, but hey, I don't have control over that. But you can tell us who's going to win. Moody, I need you to set up like a moody on the mic final for a podcast crossover because this guy is an absolute hero. And DRCs. The Aussies have a horse who can stay middle distances that was bred in Australia and his train by an Australian. So he's incentivized is the red hot favorite and he's expecting a really, really big, big run. I say big Ron, he should just about win the race is the last quote that he has about him. This is very exciting. And Rachel king on talks about two is talking about that as well. But look, we've got a leading Sarah from Europe and Spanish mission, who pushed stradivarius all the way. We've got the defending champion Twilight payment. It was currently around about a 12 to one shot. We have the X 8 and O'Brien trained sirloin, who I can not believe when you and I were talking about this that I didn't back in with 50s. The best you can get now is 20s and he's 14s with the vast majority of people. And given the fact that Aidan had said, he's one to follow all season. I don't know why I didn't just back him blindly but anyway, there you go, you live to fight another day. The good news is that you're going to give us the winner. And I should point out that you wrote an article a couple of years ago two years ago where you gave not only the exact you're the one, two, three, four. Yeah, I had to give my 5 selections. So if you had a box and the whole 5 would have cost you a 120 quid or a $120 in Australia. And there's a big there's a big bet over there are very popular Bitcoin the first four. It's a tri class, but one more place. You've got to pick the one, two, three, four, and of course, between the 5 of them they run one two, three, four and paid 80 K so that was a pretty good result. We also had Twilight payment last year. I tipped him up at 33 to one. I think he went off at about 20 or 25 to one. 25. I want to be really, really boring this year. I'm sorry, but I'd love to love to plug one up at 33. And I was like, and so I reckon this is the horse to beat, but his favorite. He looks absolutely looks bulletproof. Actually, look, I suppose the thing you could say is he's never been over two miles. He's only been over a mile and a half on two occasions. He's won both of those. The other thing is, he's by Seamus award who was a cocked plate. And in these out of a sprinting man, some of these direct pedigree, you wouldn't go near him over two miles. But you've got to have a look at the run. She got to have a look at the caulfield cup when he did plenty of work. He said on the front end all the way and then he had the audacity to show her incredible turn of fuller change a gear and leaves them all standing still the wind by three and a half four legs. It just seems the further he goes, the better he gets. I'll tell you something about himself incentivized. Now I'm sure that you listeners would have heard of the great father who many people say this is just a great source ever to come from Australia, slash New Zealand. This horse is going to go off or is it my ability way the shortest promise? I thought the shortest price won the full stop was seen in the Melvin cup since far left in 1930. Now, when you think that the yolks went down there, Kingston town, who some people might not know the Kingston town was probably the best horse I've seen from Australia in my lifetime. It was time for him right at one 36, so he was up and around that sea the stars area. So you think we said at the same time, it's amazing. My empower as well, he was the highest rated stay in the world when he won the belton cup. This horse is actually going to go off a shorter price than all of them. Now, to be fair, I don't think it's a fairness renewal that's why a lot of people are saying, but there is plenty of dead wood here. So in this race, so it's understandable that he's going to be a bit shorter in this sort of renewal than what he would say in previous renewals. But the bottom line is this looks like being the shortest priced favorite. We've had in 90 years and the shortest price favorite we've had since the horse that many people say is the greatest source ever to come out of the southern hemisphere. That says an awful lot about incentivizing. Look, he's a gelding. So obviously the plan will be to come back again next year. But for those who are clearly making the very strong case from and to be fair, you made a very strong case from on your last appearance and the epic Joe Rogan length level of a podcast. That went down really well. And went down very well down under as well. So thank you to the Australian audience and thank you to everybody in the UK and Ireland. You said such kind words. And the listenership figures were unbelievable..

"Studio to the next that's a great thing to do with maybe not last year, but the year before I went to every artist on the trail and absolutely wore myself out going but enjoyed absolutely everything of it and I'm sad to say I had to drop off between each to do it in a certain time. So it's really worth doing I know and we don't get to do that. I never get to see I never get to see anybody else's work, which is a terrible shame. I did the trail before I joined it. I think this year might be my sixth year fifth or sixth year something like that and it's different every year some people especially locals. They I love that people in my strong all come to see me and I get to meet new people every time and a lot of people who follow you on social media love to come and see where you were off. That's that's also a great thing. So I get visitors from all over Sydney literally that drive to Greenwich they want to come and see your work and then they want to see all the other lovely people. You know, we're so lucky to get the most out of it. You need to grab the Greenwich Village Arts trail map. Where would I get that? I G A Hazard the Bottle Shop has it all the stores birth. In front of the school have it and as well as that the we will have him as well in our Studios, but you can also see them on what's the all the information on Facebook and Instagram. Okay. So what is the Facebook site to go to so that we I can make sure that it's the Greenwich Village Arts Trail, right? And there's also the Greenwich Village Arts Trail in strength in this year though. We're limiting the amount of people to twenty that come into the studios. That's right. So you'll just you'll you'll comply with all the code regulations. Yeah, make sure that absolutely and the people are home have them distancing and you'll have little crossed little x's on the on the the road and everything like that. There are award-winning artists on this Trail and and Donna is sitting here hiding her light under the bush. You must have won so many awards. Can you just quickly tell us all the different Wards You've Won because you are amazing. I've won several Awards. Yes. Come on the line covid-19 me. Saudi Hunters Hill, come on. Give me a few don't be and the biggest one was the Gosford. I prize 2017. That was a big prize that I won six hundred to fifteen hundred people would entertain her and then they select maybe 42 a hundred. I don't know depends on the gallery and then there's one winner. Yeah. So if people want to know more about you your website is, it's Donna Dion, and you spelled d a n a d i o n. Nicola. How do we find out about you? You can find me on Instagram page is probably the best way Nicola heart Studios and also have a website heart studios.com. So, that's Nicholas n i c o l a Hart h a r t e Studios studios. I'm reading a beautiful brochure called the Greenwich Village Arts Trail Open studio weekend 7th to 8th of November 2020 10 a.m. P.m. Meet the artists say they work by direct and so the very first place I go to I'll grab this and then it'll give me the map and I walk and I can do it in one day or two off. Thank you so much guys, thank you. Thanks so much for having us in the Cove because local matters. So Jackie that was out second episode down very exciting. Now. Apparently there was a TV personality in Lane Cove recently while yesterday was it was Tom Tom Gleason was it? No, it was a much bigger brush of Personality called coaster. What was he doing? Kosta came to interview to land code Legends who run each year each plant sale the huge plant cell is run by Keith and Maureen Smith and they have raised over $100,000 for charity and the funds go to the National Cancer Foundation and cost of a really good interview with them and it's available on I view it was the episode the 16th of October. You should have a look at it because it really does show some great Glen Cove identities and look, I love cost rental that bit has been he's been growing that before covid-19. Was great to have him come to Lane Cove and he's So passionate about you know plants flowers native Wildlife everything. So what a pleasure do yourself a favor jump onto I've you and have a look at that and you know, he was controversial home button in the gold Logie Race by Tom Gleason, but if the parent has been a sighting of Tom Gleason, well, yes there was but unfortunately not in Lane Cove, but by Lancome residents not nearly counts up in Byron Bay Sublime Cove residents saw Tom in the distance and who would believe that men has a turn of speed. He outwitted them by choice ducking and weaving so they couldn't go and see him and say hey Glen Cove is not boring. Yes. I looked the challenges out there to Gleason come to Lane Cove. "Jackie Gina that coming up in November will be the ninth year of the Greenwich Village Arts Trail. I do Rob and I've gone to it for the last couple of years and it is a great weekend and it's sort of a page him. So that's why I've got two of The Fabulous artists who are involved in the British Arts Trail to come along we've got Donna Dion and Nicola heart. Thank you so much for coming. Thank you pleasure to be here. Thanks for having us. How many ounces will there be on this year's Greenwich Village Arts Trail this year. We have 22 people on board. Wow, and Nicola thought the things will it be what Ceramics painting tell me tell me all about it. It's an amazing selection of artworks. There's painters sculptors ceramicist people like me who do several things. We've got a really great collection of interesting people who make a wide variety of so, This really this is so much to see I know it's great. I I remember doing it one year when there were twenty-nine artists and I was running from from house to house and and I wanted to buy something from everything. I've got this husband. He doesn't believe that I should spend money. Well, don't bring him along then. Okay, so I I grew up in a parts house, but I want to find out about both of your types of Arts. So Donna firstly what part do you do? What's your art? I mainly paint usually larger Works than smaller pieces. May I use mainly acrylics? But I also use oils and I use them on canvas or bored. I do contemporary work. It's inspired by the landscape home and it used to be a lot more of actual depicting the landscape or creating a place. I used to make the Landscapes as to create a place where I belong or I feel like I belongs I made my own language. But now it's more it's less about the landscape and more about how I feel when I am in the landscape and during covered has your style of art change or is it an influence what you've been producing? I don't think I think the fact that Covetous here is what is kind of in the beginning was a very often. I felt very blocked. I couldn't create I couldn't really find any freedom of creation. I think now I'm just starting to get back into find finding my mojo or my my thing again off, but I don't think it's influenced my work as far as the actual landscape. It's just more about what's going on in the world and it just gets in the way of creating. I try and break between several mediums. I make Ceramics and mostly in porcelain and stone where Clays and I do functional we're dead. That can also be used as a decorative piece. I love I really honestly make things that make me happy. I love to use beautiful colors. I hand paint actually when I started making Ceramics, it was really just another excuse to paint another way to paint. So I honestly make things that off of there's nothing more exciting than opening their Kiln and it's full of beautiful pieces. It really honestly brings me so much. Joy, and the other thing I love to do is paint on canvas mostly at the moment. I'm painting still lifes. I love to paint flowers and they need to me. They're so fleeting. And so beautiful. I love to capture that moment of beauty and I suppose I like to paint quite expressively but it's figurative. Painting in fact, I've seen some of your beautiful Ceramics with the most stunning pastel colors in bu natural in the lanco varcade. So six people still get that there. Are you still doing that? Actually she sold out of everything and she needs to come and and get some more off my shelves because they sold out so we haven't had a chance to do that. But I sell a lot through my website and several Galleries and you know a lot directly. So the Greenwich Village trial is really about meeting the artists and seeing their workshops in action and finding out more about the artists. Yeah. I think people I think people love to not only bought by work but meet the artists see where they make the work enjoy being in their space. There's nothing more exciting than coming in and seeing where the workers made being able to see the e Paint the paint brushes the Kiln whatever it is that you use and then to be able to purchase a piece of that person's heart is it adds thought it really adds when you're buying something to get to know how it was made and where it came from. It's also beautiful day out because Greenwich is such a beautiful suburb and it's on the Harbor and off and has all come out. So it's just a really amazing event for also all the locals to bump into each other because all the artists lived quite close proximity to one another you don't have to drive from one place to the next you can just walk the whole thing. So the streets are full of people just come to life and people bump into each other the Greenwich Village Arts trial is really about enjoying the beautiful suburb of Grinch enjoying walking and enjoying meeting the artists. Yeah, and I just want to tell you that a couple of years ago the Sydney Morning Herald had an off Call on Creative suburbs Greenwich was named a creative cluster. Normally what happens is that people find a place that inspires them and they all move there and then they feed off each other and that's exactly what you guys have done. And you've created This brilliant event now because of covert there's twenty two hours. I'm I'm sure there's a few less than last year, but it's still going to be a great great day. How long would it take if someone started it at house one and went to twenty-two? I don't think anybody's done it and why would you really like in and out in and out in and out? Well, the good thing is to that we're open for 2 days. So you can do one part on Saturday and the other part on Sunday and you can stretch it out and have a coffee in the middle. That's always a good way to go or work around the kids thought and come for Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. We're there 10:00 till 4 both days. So the lot to fit in actually last year was our record year. We had 29 artist a.m. Last year, so this year slightly less but I think it will still be wonderful day. I mean when I think one of the interesting, you know issues that's happened with covid-19. We're not really sure where and how to go out and there's nothing better than having something where you can move around a little bit of exercise as well and see creativity. I I'm very excited and people can come over on the ferry as well. And on the train to Wilson craft station and we have people who do that and they come on their bikes and then they cycle from one house to the next and one.

"What it's about. So where could they where can I buy it isn't someone is in the burns baseball career out in the been separated on their life by amount then I'll give him some more and and then Spade bookery is located on burns Bay Road not far from the old Coles building the News bws That's awful. People know, you know what I slang. Cove people drink a lot easier. Sorry. I should have said they WS I'm a non-drinker. So that's probably why I didn't do it. We responsible drinkers in Yanukovych. That's how that's how I know where it's being self-defense Maple Curry and I don't even the library, of course in like like a library, which is where I wrote a lot of the book like a library. I sat in that log. And wrote A lot of it and I think they've even got a stack of them for their book club thing. So I've I've interviewed quite a lot of authors in in my time and you'd be amazed how many of those write books in libraries? I think there's something about the ability to be in a public place but quiet. Hm. Well, that's it. I mean I had when I was writing it we had wage, you know, I think a toddler at home and stuff like that and it was all a bit crazy. So yeah, I just walked up the road and went to the library and it's great. I wrote it I reckon I reckon all right about 15 to book. They're a bunch of it also wrote the stand not sound library in the in the in the New South Wales library that beautiful Mitchell Mitchell the Mitchell gorgeous room. That is so you sit there you feel smarter Choice when you're surrounded by books like that. That's why away glasses of people assume. There's like these actually do nothing, but they give me 10 IQ points that they do nothing. You know, it's well, it's you surrounded by books you think well wage Some of its go sink in somehow. I don't know fun fact, the line code library has one of the highest borrowing rates of any library in New South Wales. It's a brilliant Library. It's brilliant and not really if you want to find any information about land growth. You just email the local studies section of the line code library and they'll come back to you with the information. It is brilliant, you know, we love it and Thursday we spend have spent a lot of time there with the kids that are kids are bigger now, but they still go in there. It's good. So well Simon, thank you so much. As I said, I really want to get back when we can do a full book podcast and good luck on Election Day, which is what I remember the first Tuesday in November. It is Melbourne cup so you can bet on two races. How do you feel about the election coming up because obviously, you know getting Trump re-elected will bring you some business. However, it may kind of send the world into a bit of an Armageddon spin. Yeah off. I honestly people say oh, you don't want him to leave cuz cuz of the comedy and you know what the world and and and the piece that could be created with that man off as far more important to me than any joke, I could ride and on the flip side as well. There's nothing I could come up with that is part is makes you crazy as the stuff that Trump came.

"I'm kind of enjoying it. I think one of the interesting things about the you know Zoom world that we're in at the moment and it's actually similar for podcasts. Strangely all your you know performing it feels quite intimate when you're on these Zoom chats or with that person like it does feel 121 and stand-ups. Obviously you get the energy from the audience traditionally, but are you finding that you're you know, you feel closer to the people that you're performing to it is more interesting really good observation, you know, you have the crowd and you can interact with the Front Range, but it's still very much but but you feel like you're like you're literally in someone's house like I'll get someone on there I go. Hey, you know Janine, how are you going love with your dog hair and you might want to close the cupboard behind you cuz I can see your washing, you know, things like that. So it's actually he's very intimate and it's different and I think I like it a bit more off. And many years in in radio. So I started when I was a young bloke in radio Regional radio and one thing you learn when you're in radio was a it's a you're not talking to an audience in radio. You're talking to one person at a time on multiple levels. So it's very it's a very personal communication. So I found that bought those skills that I learned through doing radio came into play during this Zoom. I basically I reckon I've joined together radio and stand up together because what I'm doing is I'm doing jokes knowing I want hear the audience laugh. I can see them laughing which is okay. So yeah that you can see their heads reply back and see them smiling alone. Okay, it's working. You know how long I've had some interesting. I did have a group that I was doing it doing a zoom thing for and and the girl I was I was I do one-on-one when I'm doing it. So I talked to the group and then I'll take someone and talk to them for a bit odd. You know, yeah do some of my jokes do one person in a way with everyone else. There's one girl in Victoria and her flatmate walked past with no shirt on was a bloke. So it was nothing weird, but definitely a bit of an well, that's that's not a very corporate thing. Is it I say your your flatmates be stripped isn't what's going on there. You know, it's it's it's interesting. This is fascinating Simon that you've taken a live performance and you've adapted and you've moved on and it's great that people there's so many corporates in Lane Cove that should that need someone like, you know again, how do they find you? Yeah. Look. I mean honest. I mean, I've got a website you can just go to Simon Kennedy, which is really easy and then you can click through to whoever needs me there. So, you know, I remember me a bit of a multifaceted individual. I mean to keep in Australia to make a you know, a good living out of entertainment. You've got to be you've always going to be willing to Pivot, you know, so so this year off It is unusual. But trying new things isn't unusual for me. Like I say I started out in radio when I was about twenty-three and worked in that realm worked out that I really wanted to get in front of people. So turn my hand to stand up comedy and was doing stand-up comedy and radio at the same time whilst also writing for people, you know, like a copywriting in commercial and doing voice-over work. So for me, it's not unusual to yeah to to make a sharp left Simon has every year then the embassy at the line code cats Sports dinner which Again Sports lunch which again we haven't had this year and people love you there and it's amazing because you are a great MC off and you'll very funny and I have to say when you've got work Kappa as one of the guests and you managed to keep him under control. That was a work of art, basically birth. Because that man can go off work Kappa. That was one of the that was certainly an interesting, you know. Jeeze. I was listening to some Van Halen last week and you know, cuz Eddie Van Halen we lost in the other way and I love in Highland always did and I think about David Lee Roth who was the frontman of Van Halen. I think of him as the Warwick Capper of music like like these characters. They're so large the larger than life. You wonder say idiots or they just genius is pretending to be idiots. I don't know but work was certainly entertaining in ways. Yeah. That was a I wasn't my toes kept me on my toes. I love doing the lanco cat cat's Sports lunch as I mean, I mean you say it's one you're nice for me to do it. But quite frankly. It's nice for them to support me as a local performer get me involved as well like and that is what is great about Lane Cove. Is that so many so much reciprocal support that goes on so you do something, you know, you might do one thing for free and someone comes back wage. With a job for you and you know and it's and you don't always expected you to do it because of that but it is that's one great thing about this town is that it's it's a it's a very supportive Community College that you know, I love the way house Simon just called Lane Cove a town. It's like our own little city in the city. It could be a country town with but not in the country. I know I know and now with string to Simon's bow is I think he is the best Donald Trump impersonator in Australia. What do you think Simon do you think that this that you're greater? Oh, that's that's a big one. You know what I was home. I was driving to Orange actually to do some shows the other the other week and I was questioning, you know, everything, you know, is there a god? I don't know all that sort of stuff. But then I heard on the radio the trunk got covid-19 that I maybe there's a God, I don't know and and but but I wanted to hear what he had to say, but he was quiet for a little while on it. But I wanted to hear him come out and tell everyone he got he was a diag know he goes off. I tested positive. I tested positive the covin more positive than anyone else has ever tested the most positive ever. In fact, they took they did my temperature the numbers off of high incredibly High higher than anyone. It's amazing. I got better cope with than sleepy Joe Biden. Okay so good. I think I do a pretty good job for an effective one needs a Donald Trump impersonator again. Simon canon.com not only a Simon a great comedian. But Simon also has written the most amazing book and we're going to get Simon back later on a podcast and I think I might be dedicated full podcast because it's such an amazing story. So we're just going to touch on it now and then get you back because of the the subject matter needs much more than a short interview song Simon. Your book is called 911 and the Art of Happiness. Just could you tell me why you wrote that book? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, so my mother was passenger on flight 7 a.m. Seven that crashed into the Pentagon and so that that's been obviously part of my life story since 2001 and it's something I kept very much under a bushel for a long time. I didn't want to be you know known for that. I didn't want too much attention because of that. So basically I didn't I didn't talk about it publicly. I didn't let me make people knew me New Age and and I kind of felt like the story was being told by other people, you know constantly reading articles and like you know what I think I would like to be the one to tell this story if that's okay. So I did write the book and yeah, I'm glad I did cuz I kind of one thing about a book as opposed to if you do an interview or whatever you do is is you really do control the story from from a to z z whatever you know, so yeah, I I wanted to do that and so I did so that was released in 2014. And has been taking along ever since and really glad it's out there because people people respond to it and really lovely way and so I want people to go out and buy off living in the out of happiness and read it so that when we interview you again, they'll just they'll know exactly.

"Think it might have added to the value of the house. I'm very happy with it. I don't want to change. I just think that's amazing that you've Change the suburbs but never moved and also Max your lots of your family live in Lane Cove. Absolutely. Yes, there we have three daughters all went to to school in Chicago in Sydney and although they were all born in Maury. I'm going to test you because you keep on saying, you know, the first second and third horses for the last one hundred years of the Melbourne cup only four hundred years 100,000. Okay. So, how long is the Melbourne cup been going since I didn't 61 / who won the First Melbourne cup that was Archer Archer Archer and it also on the second Melbourne cup, but you've gone back too far. I said only a hundred years David Koch asked me that on television. He said next I understand you can you can tell me the winners for the last or ever since the Melbourne cup again? And I thought now car she only for the last hundred years. He said that'll do who won in 1994 and I only need the first place on the Jean one in in nineteen ninety four years. I'm in 2009. Oh, that's a shocking thing to ask me because that was the name of the horse. Oh, you're a good one in nineteen. Fifty-eight not in eighty-seven was a kensai in nineteen eighty-eight was Empire Rose. Who won in nineteen fifty-seven in fifty-seven was McDougal was 59057 was straight straight draw at last one who won in nineteen fifty horse called, Court. Oh my God am coming this table. You are one amazing one amazing amazing person and just before we go, I love telling people about the Lane Cove creds credibility off and you'll connection. You've also got a daughter who has a business online which love lots of land have people love and that's called the lighting up candles. Absolutely. That's my daughter Sally very proud of my daughter Samsung. Yes, it does lots of good stuff and they're the most beautiful statement candles and I suggest that people look up her website. So it's you light me up. One other thing that I need to tell you is wrong time. I ever place a bet as I'm Melbourne Cobb before I met you Max. I just did it on their names and whether that and what colors and last year I decided that I would use your system and I got the six horses. I put a trifecta Iran and I got two out of the three and I told everybody else what what they should bet on and they just did on the nose and they all were money and I won nothing. Nothing zero zilch. I love a good Trifecta, but it is a tough nut to crack Max. I put my final selections off on a password protected page on cap morning after 8 a.m. So people can go there after if they've they've got the book they can can go to their site download the app say exactly my total thinking on that. And the reason I do it by the way like that Melbourne where that can change people say to me three or four days before and Melbourne a church can change so dramatically, so it's always after 8:00 on Captain morning. Thanks so much Max. You always such a pleasure to talk to. What happens in The Cove stay is in the cove? Sleepy Tom Gleason, he's not good. He's the opposite of good. He's ungood. This is fantastic. I love it here in the Cove. It's almost as good as Riverview took longer bill. I'm with Simon Kennedy local comedian an expert Trump impersonator. And when I say local comedian, I mean a comedian who has been who has performed all over Australia off every network, but it just happens to live in Lane Cove and he's very funny and I don't know if you ever saw him at the all when he did some lanco of jokes, but he had them rolling in the aisles. Hello, and I I gotta say I'm not we're rolling in the aisles at the old cut didn't technically have aisles. So we kind of rolling between tables any of the Pokey room as they do Zahm and tell me. How did you how did you get into, a twenty years ago? It was the sea was angry that day my friends and it was September nineteen. Ninety nine actually is where I first set foot on stage and doing an open mic comedy night and woke up and I thought I had the arrogance of a young man of twenty five year old men who thought? Yeah. I'm good. I'm good. I'm funny people need to hear this and like I wasn't amazing when I started but I just kept going wage. Getting back up and yeah, eventually something started paying me money. And yeah, I've been doing it for twenty years and then some it takes a lot of guts to get up in front of people funny. Look, you know people often say all comedy that must be the hardest job in the world and they say that a lot and I say it is if you're bad at it like if you have York rapid comedy, it is hardest job in the world, but not if you like it not if you you don't know if you adapt adapted. I mean, I love it. I do not want a real job. So I'm happy people think it's hard cuz it leaves more work for me. So I I saw a segment that you posted on Linked In showing how you'd pivoted during the covid-19 and you set up the most amazing studio in your lane Cove home. It has a green screen off sound booth and you do lots of zooms. So tell me exactly how you do it and how people could contact you if they wanted some wanted to Diamond to be involved with them. Yeah. I mean obviously when wage They really hit hard. They just turned the tap right off on live performance. And that is pretty bad for business right for musicians for Comedians and and various, you know English teachers for instance. But for me, I'm like well this is kind of sucks like someone very quiet this year and it was actually one of the one of the one of the dads from school who's a local a big shout-out to my name is whose works, you know, he's an innovator and works in startups and that sort of thing and he said to me have you ever thought about you know doing comedy shows on Zoom? This is this is as it all just fell apart. I think you might have read my Facebook page. I had about 50 gigs canceled today and and my immediate thought was yeah, they had never worked, you know, and because it's all about that live interaction and that's all. Well. Yeah. Well, you can say that Simon or you can just try it and so I did sort of assumed that show if you if you want for his team. I said look, I'll do it for your team and let's see what happens. Let's see how it works and I woke. What worked and what didn't and I went I can improve on that the bits that worked really worked. So I kept you know, adapting it all changing it and what of ended up where there's a product actually does work. I mean it's not stand up live stand-up it's different to new format. And and I think I've worked at how it works and I've been doing quite a few of them recently and thought you know, my manager is really, you know, he's supportive cuz he's like, whoa, cuz I've got I'm out of ideas here and so he's been really good at marketing things and making it happen with corporates and corporate clients. So yeah so off here, we are months into it and you know, I'm probably doing yeah, maybe three a week two or three a week of these things. Obviously Victoria have quite the urge with their lockdown they needed. Yeah. So so if you do want to, you know, get it for your company just just hit up Marquis at stand-up comedians, easy to remember that. Yep. Yeah, and it's actually.

It's a very special day. What goes on in Jack's I think it's the dog Huh? I'm very excited for the Melbourne cup. I always going with hope that I will win and I think you've given us a tool of winning potentially Jack I have normally I look at the list go. I like that name and boy that shot. He's got some really great great colors, but I met a lanco's legend Melbourne cup Max who has helped me have a few little whinging. So we look forward to talking to Max but you know something else that's happening on the first Tuesday in November. Where abouts would it be it's not a local event. It's actually an event that's going to affect the world is the American election. You may have heard a bit about it if it happens in Lane Cove I know about it, but I also do happen to know that there is a u.s. Election. Why would we be speaking about the selection off on in the Cove podcast? Well, the answer is is that in Lane Cove? We have a Lane Cove resident called Simon Kennedy who was a brilliant comedian and a wonderful job. Trump impersonator, and we wanted to speak to him about how his handled covid-19. So just to give us a little bit of his trumpisms and it is funny. So you got wait for that one. Okay. So a bit of the thoughts on will make it to the in the Cove podcast. Yes. That's right lane code will be made greater again. But Jack, you know when I win something in the Melbourne cup and I'm winning big this year after talking to Max. I want to spend my money and the thing that I like spending my money on is beautiful art any suggestions of you know, how I can do that. Well funny, you should say that in the first full weekend of November. It's the annual Greenwich Village Arts Trail where all these creative Greenwich people get together and showcase their working environment and the studio and you grab a map you walk through the beautiful Jacaranda line streets of Greenwich. You stop at the Greenwich shops. You have a cappuccino and you if you beautiful Stay tuned everyone. We've got a great podcast happening. in the Cove in the no we are blessed at in the Cove today to have Melbourne Office Max telling us about what's going to happen in this year's 2020 covert. Hit Melbourne cup. Hello Max. Hello, Rob. Hello Jackie. It's great to be here blessed. That's pretty interesting. I like that blessed to be here. That's got a nice ring about it. So I'd like to tell you a little bit about Melbourne cup Max or as he might be known by lots of people in Lane Cove Max Hitchens. Max is Australia's number one expert on the Melbourne cup and has a record that is amazing. How many times have you picked the winner of the Melbourne cup Max? I have a system that has not worked for twenty-six out of the last thirty-two years and the system as a is a matter of breaking the field down from from the 24 horses dead. To to bring it down to a six and then reducing it to 3 and reducing it to one now for 26 of the years. The winner has been in those chosen six 4:15 over the years the the the when I break it down to the one winning horse. I've been right fifteen out of out of 32. So it's it's a reason wage. It's reasonable Max tell us a little bit about how someone would find out about your predictions and and how you let them know who's going to win the cup. I do a an ebook each year Jackie and it's at pick the Cup winner. Which is easy to remember because you're good. Just got to think about what are we trying do each year we try to pick the Cup winner and I do an ebook and we sell it from the from the site and in the book is every race wage. Disconnected or has any connection to the Melbourne cup I've researched and I can and I'd put it all in the in the e-book telling you exactly who ran where what race long distance the everything connected with and I'm talking about all around the world. You see I focus on One race per year the Melbourne cup and any time there is anything written about the Melbourne cup anywhere in the world. I've got it on my computer the very next day. And so I really do focus on the the Melbourne cup totally Melbourne 2020s going to be a bit different. Okay the covert, we know what's going to be running in Melbourne. Will Sydney jockeys be allowed to ride Sydney jockeys are certainly allowed to ride some of the month already there Haley Bowman who is a I was I regard as one of the best jockeys in the in the country if not the world and he's already down there. He's chosen to go down. Live in Melbourne for the next 3 weeks too and he's been writing was writing last weekend. So yes that some will be some will choose just to stay in Sydney. Now, I'm looking through and I have the luxury and we haven't let you have this other luxury of of all the Melbourne cup horses. Yes, you know who won in nineteen thirty-seven? Yes, the Trump one another page 37. Do you think that's a vitamin and Iron Man? Cuz the election is the same days now because I don't think Trump is going to win in in America I think is going to be beaten soundly in in America. So is there another horse in the race called Biden? I'd be looking for something like that. You are always on demand on Melbourne cup you've been on a national television radio. They.

"Tuned for that. It's going to be right. Get I- pontes. Well a Ponta education this week. I'm GonNa Focus on the twenty twenty Melbourne Cup. We've seen some really good horses. Stike they climb for the Twenty Twenty Cup recently and auto. I'm going to try and do is. I'm going to try and find the whites of these horses that are going to be running in this race in the first week in November. Still five months. Obviously Greg Carpenter releases the whites for this rice usually the second week in September. Plenty to happen. But I think we've seen a lot of the contenders running look of context. I did have very very lucky to be able to work with great cop into for a number of years in the Victorian handicapping panel so I walked worked under Nathan or no hail. He will try and work at these whites. I want to start by giving you the principles by six that Greg will work off to try and come up with the whites of these horses that I'm going to talk with you today. The stock is the benchmark. Wake the white for over thirty. Two hundred is where we begin five year olds and plus. We work fifty nine and a half kilos four year olds? These are the horses that have won the diary in the eggs this year. Obviously Birthday August one fifty and then we have the really interesting horses. The Northern Hemisphere three year olds fifty six and a half kilos a couple of years ago. The benchmark White was fifty five and a half kilos. Greg in east team went up a kilo extra after we saw rekindling and Cross Canada win at the Melbourne Cups in recent times in terms of the purpose of the ballot minus one and a half kilos for the mayor. So the mayor's get a kilo and a half off in terms of the benchmark whites just for the purpose of the ballot. Now when I say the purpose of the ballot it's the order of injury. Obviously it can be very tricky to try and get into the Melbourne Cup. There's an order of entry it. He's tombs of much. White below white varieties these writings. These white here. H Horse has is his hair. Greg identifies the order of entry. So they're the basic principles. The next part I'm going to mention here which is probably going to be really important. This Shia I want. I throw so a stray and rule of rising state to the Mass Bay. Top white of fifty kilos at the declaration of white so the second wake in September when Greg releases his whites there is going to need to be a horse. Fifty eight kilos near. This is really important this year because last Melbourne Cup we had Q. Gardens talk with fifty kilos or an international. I think you'll be coming. We also had a Vilius at fifty seven and a half kilos. I don't think he will nominate for the rice. So what we're probably going to say. Is Greg probably going to decide? Well I think these horse need to certain white. And then he's going to have to rise these white all by the same relativity to get to a fifty. I talk white when we're talking about benchmarking on we're talking about wanting a rice. Greg always try and find the horse that deserves the top white and then we were damn damn we. Don't start from the bottom up you try and find the horse a deserves the most white and work. Its Way Dan. I'm going to work off the principles that Greg would've worked. We'll be working off to try and give you an idea and it gives you a basis if you want to do your own whites to have a crack at this. We start with last year's Valen declare surveillance eclair won the Melbourne Cup last year with fifty two kilos. Now we did this as a four year old. So he's benchmark White was fifty idealize previous winners and penalties for the following year. So this is. Greg is a major a student of history. He lost go through history. Destroying at justify. He's reasons for why horses should get penalties. Much carry usually goes through history and a lot of other factors but histories. One of cross Cana fifty-one kilos. He was a northern hemisphere three year. Old Plus six and a half kilos the Knicks Jia. He was asked to carry. Fifty seven and a half kilo is now. There's a lot of white for building that okay so the actual penalty for winning the rice around three and a half kilos get him to fifty seven and a half kilos almond and fifty two kilos. Greg Build. That was a really impressive win. He wanted him to carry fifty-six half kilos fried building to that the penalty for winning the rice with four and a half kilos l mean and get fifty six and a half Prince of penzance where we know he wanted to one hundred to one fifty three kilos. He went to three and a half kilos. Extra fifty six and a half kilos. Valen declare since winning this Melbourne Cup. He has since ran third in the strike up so he was very good behind fifty stars winning deep twice in the Melbourne Cup. So that's a white fried rice. So where does this end up where I saw what white I'm going to give veil and declare the white of disorder to declare through all these factors through going through history fifty two last year. The white fried benchmarks building a kilo and a half. So we have to to give him that he has to get that one and a half kilos before I do anything else. So that's fifty three and a half and giving three and a half kilos for winning the Melbourne Cup. Four point six million goes into the accounts of the owners. It deserves to get a three and a half kilo. Even if it wasn't much of a margin it comes with fifty seven kilos. Oh I think they're on declare will probably get fifty seven kilos for these. She is twenty twenty Melbourne Cup. Now don't forget as I spoke about that rule of rising I think when declare will be the highest rated horse. He'll be the he'll probably end up with fifty. I get to that at the end when I do my summary Pace but I think greg originally will decide fifty seven kilos for and declare next. I want to talk about is very elegant horse. Last year given fifty two kilos for winning the folks and Avineri Steak so two group one races and very elegant one on both in Sydney her performances seats in staying races in Australia of nothing but at standing in the autumn in Sydney one the Tankard stikes. Twenty four hundred meters white varieties rice. Probably the premier wife address staying rice in the country in the order ran second in the ravaged stakes and ran second in the coin. Elizabeth stakes at two really strong white fried rice in the autumn and both rent second in the winner was a dive. So standing performance boy very elegant. So what does this mean for very elegant year in the two thousand and Twenty Melvin Cup? Well this is what the white I give her very elegant fifty from year a kilo and a half because she was a four year old got to build that in that white for age benchmark. She goes to fifty three and a half. And here's the tricky thing for very elegant. I think she'll probably end up with fifty five and a half of fifty six fifty five and a half will be the same as what. Valen declare is fifty six. We'll probably make these horse. The highest rated horse in terms of a kilo and a half four maze. Remember again. That's still might go up fifty six and a half fifty seven because we're not gonNA have an original top light. That's what I think very elegant going to get for those who was next horses. I'm going to talk about. Are The oaks winners? So we're going to talk a bit coal it. We're going to talk about Miami bound and we're going to talk about toffee tongue. And now what we need to do is when we focus on these oaks when we want to try and get some history. So where's their history come from Malaysia? We know very elegant. Go fifty two kilos. She won the Varner in the she wants to group ones and Greg Disorder to give her fifty two kilos. Kapila didn't win and Oaks but won the South Australian Darby and was given fifty one kilos so just from last year we get a pretty good biased of where Greg seat stays near four year old is in the pecking order. What does that mean for these horses? He will Miami Beyond toffee tongue. Call it Adrian. Knox Group Three over two thousand meters and then the when she went to theaters and made a she was dominant. I think she gets fifty one and a half or fifty to fifty two could be the chance. Just because when she went to two hundred thousand maters she was dominated no performances and she absolutely smacked him in the great good say win over two thousand meters. She was brilliant. She she could match. What very elegant got last year. But I'm sort of airing around fifty one and a half but don't be surprised if you've got fifty two kilos Miami band. She won the group to wake for end the visa oaks in November. I think bang on fifty one and a half kilos for Miami band. In the autumn. She can get her own way. That will have no impact on. Greg gives a white for Miami Banjo. I think I think fifty one and a half for Miami Band toffee tongue which she won the Australasian Oaks and she rents second in the seahawks winning this race. She ran second to call it so give her any more than co it and I think fifty one kilos the signed more or less as could did get last year is about Roy even now. Obviously you feel it when adobe I think for Australasia think Greg would probably give toffee tongue. Fifty-one kilos these. The oaks winners from the year. And that's where I think these horses will get whited in Loin. The Dhabi win as so. We've got warning end. Quick thinker so the w winners here. We don't have a Queensland so we won't have won their past winners again. We want to go back through history. Just say we GREG's these horses. He'll look at this is angel of truth. Got Fifty three and a half kilos for winning the Dhabi. Mr quickey fifty two and a half for winning the Queensland Dhabi just want to go back a couple of years ice hoy was actually given fifty four kilos in the Melbourne Cup for winning the Dhabi and ran second in the Derby so he was a very very good for the three year olds in knows Premiere Events. He runs first run second and was given a fearing pasta. Fifty five kilos. Where do I say warning and quick thinking feeding in and the white I have ended up coming up with is fifty three and a half kilos for both warning end for quick thing? I think that matches up really well last year. With Angel of truth fifty three and a half I. We'll be back after the break we're GONNA couple of X. factors including Mostra voin.
Weekend Racing Preview - Pakenham
"Get started where we always Josie track report. He's focusing on Paknum. Is that Roger Riot true good for for their cap. Mating expecting nightline around saw should be beautiful conditions. A little bit of wind. Fifteen to twenty five says Wesley. So it'll be in their faces in the strike but look twenty-five Kaiser that track is very exposed so you can be partial to a lot of wind but only twenty five. You'll have too much impact but if it does it'll be in a headwind in the strike. Usually we always speak abaout back. Nakas Nakas really. Low percentage apply but they even packing him a little bit. You can swing moored such a long strike. Get your opportunities. So I expect to play fairly daily but not as big a disadvantage being off the spade was a couple of other tracks like awful prices. spayed it's not such a big disadvantage banging packing on the the soft six a drawing soft six. We hope can help these conditions move on the worst of that five and the troops truce off six just going to have have to say this race play. These track plays. I think it's in that because they've obviously had to irrigate heavily throughout the WACO. I just can't imagine come rice my warning that track. He's a fix it from the way that we've got coming up. So this is one of those guys. Josie we talk about it. You can get the older. One is my wife until the day before. Let's apply on the die in. Let's have good advice there are. We have pointed caveat here we're going to cover off plenty of rice from packing them and then we're going to have the group stop. Where else would we stop the sports bed packing them? Cop shows you might not be the the greatest of fields but there is definitely a winner here to be fan and the boys duvall on sacred buys is your fiber to two dollars. Forty five Chapada at six dollars ca calves off at seven dollars credence seven fifty nine dollars. Fifty Midterm Return Twelve Bucks back then the bottom the big awards strapping. Who they're at the doors Josie the Matt Pretty Canaan Valiquette Alec Is? Let's be honest does Ram trucks. y'All want me having a sin south probably get up there. I'm I absolutely the Rondo full with James Locks to go forward meet term probably lost two weeks ago with a capital loss whenever it was to actually go run away to go forward guys horses and usually put some genuine Tampa sacred wise and Chapada. They've got sticky guides. It'd just be interesting. I think Chapada probably goes back sacred on the seven day backup. Wouldn't be surprised if they beat. The bullet sort of went forward and try to find a spot of us even want to be posted. Three Ward Dare nightside with no Kebab imortant just carry much just bought the bulletin go forward and if it does find a spot I think it is the winner or I have marked opted to thirty four. I think the price is pretty good at the moment tales. Forty five dollars fifty. You can get. I think he's got to be Mardi heart debate. I think he's just the raw vine form fourth up here. He's on the quake seven dieback which we love. We ask dying offices. He's very good at many valley. It was only moderate Tampa but hyman about eleven on last week which is pretty good for the die. He's got twenty four hundred meter win at core field backing April and that was in good time ran a terrible light section. But it doesn't matter if you're on like section. It's terrible if you live in front who absolutely ks not may not getting that I am with sacred I I think he's perfectly placed. Twenty five hundred meters. No concern has one of the twenty four caufield teamwork. And he's a really good bit very good Josie and instead you have to give this pushes is wow. You're be very keen on cigarettes yell at the process of live nation. When you look at the field what invading? He tends to pick himself. Lock the backup as well as three eight nine cava facing the braves. It was a solid test to bait rupture who ran quite well in Bendigo Cup on dog running that Benny. CK kept backing behind. Him Wasn't too far beyond him. Control on through that the cows off he loomed to win but then didn't unquote run an ad. It at Ballarat Ballarat sports bit Beller at Cup. So more question Maki's a strong two thousand five hundred for Loyd cows off at that value. He was fourth close. But I can't seem running strong twenty-five and Beta sake replies if you look carry and you're running the best in the rice with the lack of speed I think across in use it and then lock and load after the first four hundred Maracaibo is interesting drawn. Lie He can roll. Fold and hold a Pasi Savvy Oak just court shaw with him but I think Chapada is the is the binding and the reason for that. He's got attach a class in a little bit of expecter about him and I'll side is because he still a young horse trying to form. These Weinstein ranks third against the autumn Sun a group living in Sydney and and then the southern France. He wasn't far off at seven France. who was you know some form of Melbourne Cup? Chance going into that Mobile Cup this year. So he's drawing awkward could but he's got fifty five and a half if he can find tile and get some Cabot Chapada up. Capitalism is a danger to sacred on the backups differently. The debate Vandeweghe because he can in sty. He'll run the two thousand five hundred and he's drawing low and you'll get a soft around. I think the full wakes fresh. He's the value so I'm gonNA clued in time. Rice moldy a little bit lighter. We'll talk to that right. A choice they josie just very quickly. You spoke about the Quick Seven Day backup has backed up. Before Sake reply back it was twelve hundred boy. Mouse Madrid renforce. Enforce was twenty to one side nine on the quick seven day. Backup
Dick Powell Discuss Melbourne Cup
"And you know Haskins brought up Melbourne Cup and boy you I wanNA talk about a firestorm. We thought the Derby had an aftermath. The this Melbourne Cups had an aftermath. Well uh-huh they disqualified point Aboard Master reality. He had the lead As he's I've been doing all year he's been riding aggressively and trying to use all the skills to get home. He looked like he was going to do it. And then balanced declare was on the inside Pencil Barron on the outside of fighting duck then tightened up paradiso. who was making this phenomenal for Wayne Lorden and that one little bit of a chain reaction with the winner Alan declare but it was hard to tell on the head on? When did it happen the stretch like they were right on the wires? So did it happen to strike. Before strike after SORTA stewards took quite a while to go over it and it turned out to be way. The inquiry work turned out to be Aidan. O'Brien's rider claiming against Joseph Brian's right doc. So they took Joseph them and they move up to third they put they put Joseph back the fourth. And then me off mine. WHO's Donald? But he wound up winning Craig Williams aboard the Toy. William Bill just tremendous the Spanish on the wire and They took my keys on the the mind. veg suspensions actually out it's always it's always entertaining and one of those special days and I was in such a blur. You know coming out of the weekend and then traveling link so i. I was behind Catching up to it and all the and all the hubbub and speaking of Catching up and everything deck. Let's get your right before we talk Hong Kong and there is plenty there. There's actually a lot of news That I've seen from around the world Horses is that are starting to announce their intention to run on champions On the Champions Card but before we do that you're breeders cup takes so they would kind of disappointing my handicap and was just not what it should be. I was on with you when we're cavalry was on and I talked about tracking your father. Santa Neither Steve with that so that was no surprise the way the track played away from me. I just didn't have the right voices. I seven degrees with about if you tell me do tries. It's IT'S GONNA run back good in the first half. I gotTA figure Dunbar Road. It's GonNa be light in and she wasn't so that that cost and then I you know I I I knew track was going to be the way it was. I was right about that. And I know code honor the relatively small horse that Kinda gets over the popped track down too far and sure comes up the way. They're even like that goes on her and don't see was he. He didn't look before the race. Though I can't I can't blame it all on the track because in the post sprayed he was very antsy he was very not wash now going into the game but he was started warm. And that's to me. That's unlike him so even with the track he didn't look at going in and then obviously than handle the track so so it wasn't it wasn't a they want a lot of high five point Friday and Saturday and other than that originally this great I kind of had the opinion and Europeans Warren to strongest companion. Especially when magical make the trip turned out to be probably true but the one the one I really screwed up on sale sponsored that's That's that's when you go back and look how about applesauce episodes come up and I've been so so so I was just two more days of back getting it done okay. Well and that just shows you that you don't as I say repeatedly and I write that the introduction to keep people I don't want people to get completely flummoxed by by Breeders Cup and that they they you know they didn't do well and I. Can't you know you do well this weekend. delmar opens tomorrow and the Churchill. Fields Terrific You don't it's two days. It seems like they're the most important on the calendar when it comes to wagering opportunities but the money you make in the Melbourne Cup is just as just as valuable as the money you. You didn't make on Breeders Cup weekend and it's why it was one of those things where I kind of recognized that nothing seems to be working so I a lot of money Friday and Saturday. The thing is like when you're playing blackjack and you get really good cards. And then he keeps feeding him. So you're betting more than shirt because you're getting really good parts. Oh you get bad cards you just get that. Take your losses so I kinda problem everything down on Saturday. So wasn't you know I didn't that anywhere near the funding that I take him out. Taken out of my bank account too but the rights coming up and I look forward to the multiple foul and I got lucky because I could have just as easily been shoving second exactly. And that's what the that's what makes that's what makes it so much fun so maddening reddening or or so exciting. It's just it's gotta run for you That that's always the bottom line and on a day day on days like we had Friday and Saturday there were as as Paul. Matisse laid out brilliantly today there are things that are going to conspire against you. And you can't can't. You can't completely alter your game plan or abandoned your your approach. You can adjust maybe a B and tinker and throw in some savers and whatnot. But if it's not going to be your you know your day or your two days. Ah Ah but it doesn't reflect doesn't reflect on what lies ahead and and there's still a lot of good racing November's of terrific racing month that we got all the the action of Churchill leading up to the Clark And the stars of tomorrow to Ecuador off off to a tremendous start. I mean if they can if they can maintain this before people break camp and start the head to Florida and whatnot. It's going to be a very good Ecuador meet because the fields are competitive racing is interesting so that's often and del Mar With the first two cards sat and that looks like give. There's always a lot of good turf racing at del Mar so often. Go off we go. How about to spend the last couple of minutes? The Hong Kong updates about four minutes shopping rich sharpton ran on Sunday We now have a true Sunday. We have a high fifty races favorites at one. Twenty six percent the average field sizes twelve and one and the average win price is twenty dollars and fifty cents so prices again value. You and Twenty Six hundred seventy is pretty thoughtful considering twelve twelve though horses surveys Shopping on fat set Sunday very fast track is good too terminate running raid this time so when you look back at those races understand that they worked on pretty quick. Nothing really stood out on on. That took yesterday at Happy Valley They Rennes nine. Nine on the paraffin and interesting things Steve Race sex with the fifty six to one shot that one and you WanNa talk about how different things are from talk to them and I keep saying we want to be like the rest of the world that we used to be so the horse that won training by Begnaud young he was called into the stewards to try to explain this big former. There's a whole explanation the nation and and the chart comments and China's that easy stated that this was the second. Start off the way off. As I started at some mucous in his trachea they they trained him and congre which is inland about three hours minded China Trade Centre pollution and everything else and Hong Kong. Long time that's awesome but here stewards are paying attention not just You know I've done horses that I have run poorly a horse. Who when often you John? Why did he run so well? And that's that's you know that's called transparency and integrity.
Three Wide, No Cover | Melbourne Cup Runner by Runner Preview
"Hello hello and welcome to a very special edition of three while had no cover a Melbourne cap spatial we're going to go through every runner in the rise and fall and you will win out in a rice that stops a nation Russian and more to co host as always went on I'm in the chair and Julian Velazquez in white hot form of the moment if Russia on Saturday you went with Miami Band and Rice to over fleet you are on far at the moment you hit can easily change your on the good as you last election bought we going by but this rice is tough if there's an idea but we're gonNA raw knows all about it and you'll be able to put us in the right direction recently does these group one winning jockey many many times I'll tell you what when you come ad for Melbourne Cup wake what do you do you know you're going to be on TV beat you get rid of the beat and you go clean shy of any loops ten years younger that man is some and Marshall thank you good to have view I in the pigskins tonight especial Melvin competition this is a good feel this is a great field there's stack question marks recognize genuine chances in the Rice Sarah dissecting talking about them and maybe a COUPLA fees for the panels at home as we always liked the play the motorcycles watch this show all the time we're laws that are not always here markle wall will make wall or skipper as we now him macy's full alive and apparently he's got appendicitis and he organized they shouted out he was the driver behind Z.? LOVES BEING ON THE CAMERA LOVES BEING ON TV now apparently appendicitis apparently rushed to hospital but this video always target only twenty four hours ago and show you video on will the background camera legal round the block a man in the back dead who is going to pin this on us now are always the doctor boys I would be looking getting nowhere near the appendix I'll be working towards the leveraging as the light scratching on vets at voice box towel enjoys Dhabi heavy wealth to talk about on Taylor downdraft on Saturday fans wind the Melbourne Cup the Siamese Prince of aerated law she came third in the rice has that changed anything look into the rice it's now seven eight dollars and obviously we've seen through history that you win the Lexus the wholesome the SOB whatever it's called utain to run really well in the Melbourne Cop in the the market seems to gravitate toward you we'll get to that very shortly bought the market did change a little bit off to the barriers or war we're going to get the market up a brand new let's go through the market rocket as it stands at the moment and glass who's coming to five or tim that was a bad I fifty a couple of weeks ago Constantinople touch sevens at had fiend Shit tain bound declares in the cross Cantu the extra kilos this she is surprised by being Il Paradiso having a lot of pundits h. y. the Prince of Erin and move always at either over the table and Raymond Tusk at Nineteen downdraft is the one that came means southern France bits bits two thousand dollars on on the five southern France at twenty one dollars all the way Dan Hunting Horn who won two weeks ago at forty one dollars here it's a big rice guys on the page and there's still some genuine probably live chances there as well toy that we've had since the barrier to that the punishment the most sports bit the favorite mode aglow I told is into six fifty after the barrier draw guy to probably a big advantage for that horse obviously it's good it's about thirty two hundred meters but maybe the guy alleviates it's a couple of those problems with that and the other one was lying there the to the pun is one of the moment for us at sports is there anything out of Sessa die the why the trek plied that you can take in the Melbourne Cup look other than the fact that you are dandruff obviously going really well he's going to be fit we still have these trucks going apply to be honest it was quite wet on Saturday there's GonNa be some rain today on Monday and supposedly drawing we know it's a joint track but he's going to draw on add some confidence seem Flemington because what we saw on Saturday Dhabi is they used the entire tract I didn't just stick to the fence that didn't stick for the day in the middle like I'm Dan wide and we sold melody battle-winning Michael Grand and also fees impact and then towards the end of the day that I wish shifting off and leaving the fence about four horses of a gap to the inside running row also it was a great spread right across the track all wouldn't expect it to be too much I've got to get through it on Melbourne Cup Day and jockeys go to pick their best path so Jewish touched on it a little bit of inclement weather I think it'll just help Flemington because it's such a great draining track they've prepared these track for the full days play on Oregon it was really fair on Saturday more I'm really looking forward to catching up with the hall of fame trying to dive is he's got three runners in the Melbourne Cup and we're going to get him on the final on a little bit lighter so he won't be able to help some throughout the show today I'm looking forward to that is your task done well let let's go through all the runners one by one in Reis Book Order Starting With Number One cross candidate last year obviously a little bit more white penalty the she does a two-horse classy Ohio UCS V8's now with goodell from blue forever because of course Canis Ripa but that's last year that's irrelevant now you go to carry fifty seven and a half doing now you can get thirty two hundred Mehta's after one the Melvin copy he wants him otherwise he went to do boy I wanNA group to their he started two dollars fifty in this ledger most recent run looking Ren fourth I think back in that rice it was a little bit of a worrying run but he has the pay over a lot of these other international forces put it this way Celli police and absolutely gun he's done it before these horses this is done it before he can win the rice he's not my talk for everybody can definitely win the rice is to have been more helpful because I'm going to trust him at Flemington Lymington as a genuine style what we saw last year was that three year old northern hemisphere hemisphere foam come to the fore carried fifty two key allies he was the best background Gripe Gripe profile leading into that rice since then Josie mentioned you want my which was terrific winning out of the thirty two hundred meters so to me that look walk a whole studied improved to travel back tonight in and then he ran out of a full thousand meters he got one point nine links off stratovarius in gripe form rice in the Gold Cup with D. XP just let's be in front of him as well and then he wasn't far why beyond Stratovarius again in the goodwood and then Dayton full links I'll forgive him for that he's had a really good I think he's a better whole this year and net foam and those four runs within twelve months suggest that he's a bit holes that's fifty seven and a half the reason Gordon Moore top four is because I'm going to trust him as the genuine style in the rice think if you've got class law came you can come back drawing a good guy with fifty seven and a half get locked away and he's going to use he's that he's going to be more top four for those reasons I think we're going to see a bit of a patent horses that can win absolutely smell them cap so that is a big number one cross cannock came winless got the number to murder glass obviously after the barrier draw eight fifty six dollars fifty dining line on board came in as well Ken Wayne counting anyway any of that process of six dollars fifty Moran knowing nine dollars fifty but of a winning chance look he wanted to cool field cop I think the inside guy is the positive Damian line is absolutely able when he's a fantastic jockey there is concerns whether it gets thirty two hundred meters stay in that's probably the concern for the Japanese but I think the inside guy allows him to maybe get a bomb and just because up clued up if you can be with four hundred maters guy I've got no daddy can win the rice doubts on the coffee cupping teams if he had every opportunity to win that rice and still on the run high twenty four and a half twelve and a half so it wasn't sensational last four hundred dollars two hundred a pretty moderate Tampa he's got meaningful the Japan and as a guns I think sometimes we can fall into the brains of twenty four hundred a Coffee Cup win locked that didn't right off the roof in terms of figures that was he's I have a twenty four hundred proud of that he was a two-time winner I have a twenty two hundred police phones brain around the mall and a quarter so easy to to brilliant and is he wanted to he's best at fifty-six kilos against genuine thirty two hundred natal's GonNa be strong that you can trust at the end of the rice with that Madam on top four and now he gets the best run but he's going to need the bush guidance it'll suck up beyond side he can use that tune afoot but easy the brain Ho slot the Saudi thinks these talk horses that we've saying come through at the mall and a quarter and right really well and Hoy but just with the fifty six and not being tested beyond twenty four hundred meters of got that question macaroni happy to him on Kenny Win Not yes yes okay number three mass reality twenty six dollars at at the moment Frankie Dettori onboard can't win yes but I just don't know enough about the tone four one hundred twenty three matches up pretty well but time for one hundred twenty three fifty four and a half roy it up there I mean that's a fair wack he's the handicap has got a hold of him there's no doubting that he ran fifty alleged that cross Canada ran fourteen cross Canada Tudo is fifty Master Valley started fifteen does he can win but I've got him into bat twenty one twenty six dollars look I wouldn't be knocked over but he won't be my betting strategy is to he can he can running the top bite for show this horse because he's a genuine style and he's trolling barrier wine he gets a fifty five and a half and he's foolish stratovarius there's a lot of this

"Time guest to the show this man is responsible for love American racing he was part of the old eighty or one of his favourite beds is the box and not only is he abetting genius he's also one of racing's nice guys it is my absolute privilege to welcome to the show Barry Faulkner on bushing onto one suit box exact barry it's about time you made your debut in the final furlong my friend India and great to have you onboard as well looking forward to your thoughts your expert thoughts for what should be too exciting nights of racing on sky sports racing and you can hear in the background making his little giggling cab can be over the last five years we've been doing this together so we have to have the main man on board Pete Foreign it's Al from sky sports racing welcome back and it's a pleasure to be here that was my first final Furlong podcast ever back in twenty fifteen when I was living over in London then and I think back to that very fondly going from being a regular listener to getting to be on the show on a regular basis it's always a pleasure and I'm happy to be here no you're kind man my friend and it's good to have you aboard as well we couldn't do this without your insight as well and speaking of that let's get a brief snapshot of things are we go in there because Santa Anita is normally gold for the Europeans I think this is the record amount of time that track has has held the Breeders Cup but opean runners have never gone away from Santa Anita empty-handed there have been some tracks where we struggled but entries are down this year the pre entries were down the overall European and particularly UK and Irish representations down the obvious exceptions this is Brian and is this is to do Peter and we discussed this in the final film podcast earlier in the season with some of the difficulties some of the series difficulties that sent any face regarding fatalities because let's not forget it was only a few months ago that the Breeders Cup themselves had a meeting to decide whether or not sent an easy would keep it and at the time the word was it was going to be taken off them have things been sorted out and is there still a little bit of nervousness in the air ahead of the biggest meeting of the entire year to be honest I hadn't thought about the welfare issues as a reason why the euro participation is down I was thinking it was somewhat ran them but it's not it's not a crazy thought but I'd like to think that with all effort that's been made in California on you and with California racing together this surface right and say that if that if that is the underlying reason that that that's a erroneous Yes eroneous logic I'd like to think that we've got a service that we was going to play hopefully in a manner that's fair and most important Paul safe over the two days of the Breeders Cup and for the remainder of this fall meeting at Santa Anita well the fact that you haven't been thinking about it tells me that the been less issues lately they've hopefully then iron things out so that should be good barry what are your thoughts on it we donated with the West Coast the entries this year the same level as a two years ago in Delmarva we've got one more race this year significantly down on the entries interest for the British Company in Kentucky last year I doubt in general I think it's a disadvantage for horse shipping California hosted Slip Shipping East but they do that so relative time there's an east coast and they just as far as the truck goes treated hundreds from work and they've done significant amount and hopefully they will have resolved issues they undoubtedly how dealer in the year the cause of the lack of interest from this year I don't really think civilian position to say okay well hopefully things are all aren't out and we can be really excited about the race meeting I genuinely am the other thing to talk about is pace and draw bias because there's definitely draw bias at Sente- Nita impeach you've got some big about that well it's what we're trying to hit a moving target addressing this issue but I think it's something worth considering part of the safer surface I was talking about has to do with the the rail not being gene the place to be more typically in American racing in twenty twenty and we've seen this at a lot of places and it's not super consistent but I mean like Saratoga for example the inside was really not where you want it to be much of the meat now we don't exactly know what it's going to be like for the Breeders Cup something we have to pay attention to because it is very difficult down on the inside you got some short priced favourite to ordinarily I'd like quite a bit core drawn down there but as with all time you try to play the bias game at my friend Mike Baloney the professional horse player says if you WanNa dance with bias you best do so on your toes and that's very much the case but what we've seen at Santa Anita it's very unusual typically good inside means good things for speed and bad inside means it's easier to come from off the pace but what we've seen at Santa Anita this meet on Sundays is as part of the the surface also there's a lot of kickback and it can be difficult to close so you wanna be up towards the front but you want to be up towards the front and not necessarily down on the inside now whether not this is going to be the go forward to be the case for the Breeders Cup I'm not GonNa make any assumptions about it but I'm going to be looking for it and I'm going to act quickly and upgrade horses on I'm talking about the dirt of course horses on the dirt who are going to get that kind of preferred trick and what about you would you be reacting than in real time as well because I remember Breeders Cup where I think it was the year in Vizor won the Breeders Cup classic he was the exception to the rule but everything drawn on the inside like almost if you were on the dirt install water still to you immediate advantage for whatever reason the way that was playing out so I know that you've been studying for the last week or so barry and particularly since the drawers been announced yesterday and today but will you be reacting in real time to how the draw plays out on the night on Sky I think the key thing looking oh bison shifted very very careful because we know sort of simple Harlem hospital you know you'll get a show class FA across favorites join inside wins by St and some inside draw boss that's not indicate indicators you get along show them means how to take on they didn't hangs around and then finishes a close fourth that tells you that the drill by so you hundred very careful how you look at the data it's being presented you you call you see what you're saying if there is the current vice that let's stay alerts and try and take advantage so that we can get maximum gravy so over the two nights all of it live on Sky I've got a brilliant promo to pray at the halfway stage here but let's get straight into the Breeders Cup juvenile turf sprint I'm almost afraid to say the name for the reaction from Pete Four Hundred L. Kamari dear we've got four wheel drive the good as we are getting a decent price seventy two but the terribly unlucky horse at Royal Ascot four wheel drive is currently a best price of nine to two if you look at the races dot com there's allie making the trip over to represent the Europeans to be fair that's for seven Crisford with old friend Frankie Dettori on board as well so there are the three that had the bedding was the awards what are the representation Ena Brian sending over King Neptune with Ryan Moore who will be writing all of his main hopes for the week Barry and I will talk about the group one I stakes which would be run at Newcastle just before we move on Saturday that's a fascinating races has been reopened but Kamari was your goatee the horse for Roy Alaska he's too from to since he has been he was a long odds on favourite in one of those races short price favourite and the other are you sticking with the my friend she's the real deal Kamar very impressive as you pointed out did everything but win at Royal Ascot on ground that she didn't love and has looked so good in the starts since particularly in the last day showing new dimension coming from last I I had ripped up my ticket practically after they broke from the gate at Keeneland that day figuring out what you can't win from their managed to get the job done anyway and has looked very good in her track were park as well she worked out with down for nowhere the other day and really went to the toying with bound for nowhere in a work and then all he went and did is run a massive time figure in an impressive victory in his race last week I think she sitting on go I think she's square price four wheel drive is another ward runner who is very talented is actually done better on the clock Kamari has I plan on getting Kamari to win yes and I'll play a forecast exact with a four wheel drive over Kamari to back that up in just taste. I'm very curious to hear what you guys think of alley as a potential one to upset the apple cart I just don't know I love him I I don't know how well he's going to be sued by this by this configuration of the very sharp five furlongs around dead but it's Kamari from me

"And music, and dancing and fireworks. And they all. It used to be a bigger drawn out affair on the broadcast side that that is that has been reined in. But when the racing started, it, certainly I it it certainly was a very strong several hours for American racing interests. And forget Alvin basically, those were the two those were the two entities that that really dominated. The. The first. Made event after the the Arabians cold front and talking to Todd Pletcher and then actually seeing them later on Saturday at the Gulfstream. That was that was really nice for for everybody involved baba penta, and the this this group of salt cumin partners under the head of planes name, and it kicked off a a really good. Couple of hours, certainly. When it came to Jose, Ortiz and. Cold front. Wins the Godolphin mile and things were were well underway from there. It got. I thought that day really started to fly the Gold Cup. You had a chance to to see the Melbourne Cup winner cross counter and cross counter. Successful. Then came the out Qantas sprint the turf and. Another international star, really blue point who of course, last year was the night his chance to participate and the now five year old. With the William Buick. A winner over Peter Miller's stormy liberal and belvoir bay. They ran great. But blue point. International star on the. On that front. The. You a derby, and you know, being being heavily debated. Here after the wind by plus ca Parfait, we'll talk to Brendon Walsh. Tomorrow, Brendan making his way back, and if you might have seen some of the you know, some of the. Clips from on Twitter from Nick luck, show luck on Sunday. Nick is going to join us in our three. Dick had Brendon Walsh on Mike Smith the yesterday on his neck on Knicks Sunday morning show and Brendan Walsh. Just tickled. He spent time working in in Dubai, and this was a very special sort of homecoming for him to to win the UA Darby and plus ca Parfait for imperial racing or local interests. And the point of entry ridge Ling got an amazing ride. I lay let's just let's just acknowledge you know, after Ortiz had had really done a beautiful job on coal front. Going out in space and a running down a loose leader. Essentially here he had to he had to. Had to weave his way and dive inside. The. The pair of of players that were out in front of him. And. Plus Cup are Fe after the two. Disappointing performances earlier this year in the Lecomte and the risen star. I see. Disparaging. I see disparaging comments all over the internet about how appropriate. It would be for him to be in the in the derby. I. I think a lot of us were looking forward to him early in the season and. Brendan Walsh acknowledged in the Lecompte when he was fifth that they might have been a little a little short. And then the risen star that didn't go any better. And so at that point everybody kind of wrote them off in this was their target from early on. And we'll see we'll see what Brendan's got to say. But. While he was diving inside and. Slipping up the rail gray magician. Was rallying outside and grey magician..
