"A CC Big 10 challenge presented by Continental Tire, North Carolina, Iowa at 7 30 Eastern than Illinois, Duke Tuesday on ESPN. Him becoming the first black head coach in Ohio State history to roam the sidelines in the win against Michigan State are opposite Mel Tucker, right, so like it, just like they all the way all the way around for history state there, but I was encouraged by what they did, especially after the way that the committee sought to think about moving Texas A and M into that fourth spot based on beating what we all know to be a really bad L s u team right now, John. Yeah, Yeah, you know, listen, I know Michigan State is in a great team They did beat Northwestern last week. Northwestern today was crowned. The big 10 west of his in champion. There, they have a team meeting where they were holding the trophy because their game got canceled today. So don't Michigan State Mel Tucker's got a lot of work to do to kind of build that program back up, But being as short handed his Ohio State Woz It's still impressive that they want 52 to 12. The best games were those that were not involving the top four teams A and M beats Auburn 31 to 20. But our jae young, you do not seem very impressed. By the agonies victory this afternoon. Not at all. You beat up on a three lost Auburn team, a team it's somehow continues to get all sorts of praise. From people that I respect in college football for which I'm actually pulling your coattails here and asking. What do you watching, sir? Oh, Next. Isn't that great? A quarterback If anything, the compass killing mon, Which ain't saying a whole lot text and got absolutely stumped by Alabama. Ole Miss put up a better fight. Epperson, U is in a game with another shoe team that can't play on the same field as Alabama tonight and all burns best winds right earlier this year like Kentucky. You know, they lost to a South Carolina team that fired their head coach and has hired a new one before the season is ended. I don't give any respect to that all my team and I don't give any respect to a text saying them team that needs 1/4 quarter comeback. Beat them. I'm not sold it all on what the Yankees are. If anything, moves Cincinnati into that fifth spot if that's what you're really feeling, based on how text Santa has played the last two weeks, Jeff RJ young Jeff Dickerson. Game night, ESPN radio, The ESPN Apple guest on our show appear of you the shell Pennzoil Performance line. All right, you're not buying A and M I mentioned Florida before they will play Alabama in the S E. C championship game, there will be heavy underdogs. Florida, though, does be Tennessee 31 19 the best game. I think the most impressive win before we get to the instant Classic tonight, which is coastal Carolina against BYU, and we'll talk with the head coach of Coastal Carolina. Jamie Chadwell will join us next segment right here on ESPN radio to react to that huge win at home against BYU 22 to 17. How about Indiana? Down their starting quarterback. Beating Wisconsin, which isn't a great Wisconsin team, but the Badgers are still pretty tough winning 14 to 6. Over Wisconsin That is another in a long line of signature wins this year, RJ for the Hoosiers, 100% and without Michael panics, Junior. You saw Tom Allen's defense show up in a huge way with backup quarterback Jack Total. Who, by the way, Isn't any slouch like you take a look at what the quarterback situation has been at India or Indiana over the last two years. Pain Ramsey grad transfers to Northwestern. Oh, yeah, they just won the division and the Big 10 West, and he gets an opportunity to win a big 10 title hearing in a couple of weeks. Michael panics. Junior might be the second best player in the entire big 10, depending on which week and how you want to talk about the best player being quarterback. And now Jack Tuttle, who transfers from Were transferred from but is At Ohio State, right moves to Indiana is expected to succeed Michael Finish junior needed would come through in a meaningful way. And then you got Tom Allen just out there Ted Lasso style with his players. They love each other. They're playing for each other. It shows that way. You had a debilitating injury to his son at linebacker, and you had a debilitating injury to Michael Panics, Junior and still here They are playing big boy football. I expect to see them. In a meaningful bull. And you know, like if they make it through the season with one loss, we're going to talk about Indiana. Challenging for the Big 10 championship next year. I didn't think we would ever talk about Indiana football in that way in my lifetime. So that has been a remarkable story. One of the coolest things that happen in this 2020 season. I mean, they beat Indiana. They beat Wisconsin. Without their starting quarterback, and what type fried Fogell The best receiver. One of the best receivers in the Big 10 has one catch for 35 yards, Indiana still finds a way.

"60 wjr. Well, folks make absolutely no doubts about it. The Indiana Hoosiers as a football team are for real. They go into East Lansing yesterday afternoon ranked number 10 in all the land and what do they do? They shut out Mel Tucker and the Spartans 24 Nothing. The final there. Michael panics Junior 320 yards to go along with two touchdowns, and the fact of the matter is Shawn. Nothing good is gonna happen for Michigan State until they stop turning the ball over form or yesterday. Yes, Steve, you know, basic, fundamental stuff. That's just the way it is. I don't think there's any coincidence that you know the game that they didn't turn the ball over. They find a way to win that game. But I want to echo what she's Indiana's legitimate. Okay. You know that I think you know panics is a young quarterback. He's going to make some mistakes. He's but There's so much ability there. You have to give a tip of the cap to what they've been able to do The last couple years. They were always that close, but no cigar kind of program in the big 10. This is legitimate. I'm gonna be really interested to see what transpires with this team. They might be the second best team in the Big 10 right now, Steve Well, they beat Enos you in East Lansing for the first time since 2001. They claim the old brass spittoon for the first time since 2016. Furthermore, Indiana has won five consecutive big 10 games going back to last season. They've won nine of their last 11 tilts. The Hoosiers have won five of their last six big 10 games on the road. That is their best stretch since the 67 68 season so more work to do for Mel Tucker and the Spartans. Now the question is there supposed to be at Maryland on Saturday. Maryland, Ohio State that was canceled because of Cove it 21 days is the protocol in Big 10 play, We will keep your muse talk 7 60 wjr. Meanwhile, you've got some things going on in an arbor last night, and it wasn't good for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines. Number 13 Wisconsin Idol the last two games because of covert they go in. 49 11. That was the final beat down for sure. Uh, Wisconsin now have won five of the last seven meetings against Michigan and Jim Harbaugh has got a lot of questions to answer. Yeah, Steve, it's ugly right now, and it's it's both sides of the ball. You know, the one thing that has been frustrating around here this fall. Stevens how the defense's for for really All the teams have just Really struggled. And certainly that was the case last night. Michigan couldn't do anything right. They couldn't move the ball. Joe Milton looked like he was a young man that just wasn't ready for prime time and they could not stop the run. So this is a situation, Steve where they've got to find themselves quick, fast in a hurry, because this stuff Can go down the drain and again with all the expectations with this football team once Jim Harbaugh took over and 2015, they haven't come close to living up to those expectations. And more bad news for the Wolverines. They suffer their largest loss at the big house since 1935 when they fell 38 zip to Ohio State right now, the Wolverines one and three. There were start since 1967. According to Jim Harbaugh, after the till everything must be re evaluated. The Wolverines supposed to be at Rutgers next Saturday. Elsewhere in the big 10 number, 23 Northwestern, they go in the West Lafayette and take care of her Do 27 20. How about this Penn State Falling tow. Oh, and four. Can you believe it? They were a preseason top 10 team folks. Nebraska beats him 30 23. Mr. Franklin's got some things to figure out. Yeah, he does. What a mass. I want an absolute mess in. You know, there's a lot of that going around the conference right now. I mean, there really? Is Nebraska still trying to find themselves. You know, the rumors of Scott Frost taking over had been greatly greatly exaggerated, but it was nice for them to get a win, but at the expense of Franklin, So right now, Steve, there's just a whole heck of a lot of Huh? And again number three Ohio State They were supposed to be in Maryland take on the Terrapins that game canceled Top 25. Here we go. Notre Dame Day Roland number two Fighting Irish upends Boston College 45 31. About Florida. Number six in all the land may beat Arkansas. It was 77 at one point, the final Gators 63, Arkansas. 35, Florida Improves 25 and one Meanwhile, you got number 11, Oregon. Lot of expectation for them in the Pac 12. They beat Washington State 43 29. And number nine. Number nine. Miami They beat Virginia Tech. Close one. They're 25 24 you a believer in the Canes. Kind of does that make sense. I don't think that they're back to the level Steve that they were at in the eighties and in the nineties in the nearly part of the 21st century, But I don't think they're bad either. I think they're probably in that level below Clemson and some of the top 10 teams. I think the raking is at probably somewhere between 10 and 15. All right. Some high school action. Certainly in this great state of Michigan District Final Action West Bloomfield. No problem whatsoever, and they make a strong statement knocking off Sterling Heights, Stevenson 63 to 6 River Rouge on a roll. They take care of New Boston here on 40 21 Belleville. Why I'll tell you what saw them Friday night. They are a tough ball club right now is they look for their first state championship, and they're well on their way, knocking off a pretty good Canton club. Battle of the undefeated goes to Belleville. 53 29 Shoni onto the regional finals. Yeah, Coach Crow else done such a great job Christian do read is ah young man that just has made place his entire career. Belleville is looking tough and Steve, I'm going to say it again. I love the idea of letting teams get in in the playoff a new season and see if they could make a run. How about Oak Park? How about Warren de LaSalle? Certainly less than regular seasons they get in the playoffs, They start making noise. That's a great story. Yeah, very exciting. No question about it The way it's all panned out. Meanwhile, we continue to count you down. Steve Courtney. Sean believes in We've got your lions playing host to that Washington football team. How about your fantasy football rosters? You have him in well here to lead you in the right direction. Here's my partner, Sean. Belief in here is the fantasy football report. "Here in East Lansing. My name is Steve Courtney. Thanks for being here and say what you will about me. I'm a man of my word Will team in. Joins us right now, with her conversation with coach Mel Tucker. Presented by TCF Bank, proud partner of an S U Athletics will Mostly thanks a lot in here It is Game three of the big 10 season melon. You know, I was tempted to say, Hey, Ma, what happen between game won a game, too, But I'm not going to do that. But I will ask you this. You've talked a lot about process and the team is process driven. I was curious in the framework of that one statement. How did the process actually get you from Game one against Rutgers to that gray one and Game two against Michigan? Person foremost, we're here to neutral thinking, which basically requires you to go to the truth and the facts and be real about you know what's really has happened. And not to judge you know, good or bad, right or wrong. Just what is it? Game one was was until turnovers. They had 21 points off turnovers. We needed to eliminate those. We had to do some things differently. Because obviously what we were doing on the daily basis did not show up on on game day. And so we went to the extremes reinforce, you know, ball security and our players embraced up. You know, the pass is not predictive of the future. Necessarily unless you unless you don't change the behavior, and so there were some things we had to change ultimately, Ah, last week, you know we were ableto take care of the football. That goes a long way to give you an opportunity to have a chance to win a game like that. You know, the explosive plays. You talk about that, like you also talked about creating turnovers, but you had six of those against Michigan five in the passing game. Explosive play meaning 20 yards. Plus, have you been surprised by the emergence of your passing game? We have, obviously, Rocky, you know, could make all all the throws. You know, J. Johnson Coast cap. You know, our office line coaching run game coordinator and aware ofthis astound, you know, they're veteran guys that understand, you know, howto work together. You know, as we learn more about our players understand how to put guys in positions to do things that they could do? Well, you know, we have some receivers that are hard to cover. Then we have a quarterback that can deliver the ball to them. So you know, it's about design a scheme to make sure that that were coordinated in our in our past protection. They're all offensive line or tight ends in our backs. Quarterbacks know you know where their hearts are in. Everyone's working together, so that we can, you know, take advantage of off somewhere our playmakers and you know, we're aggressive one. We're not afraid to take shots down the field work really hard to maintain some balance in office in terms of run past. I'm not. I'm not surprised, but you know we're working progress and you know they're certainly and things that we approve upon and corrections that we we've had to make. We have to improve on the road against Iowa got to be ready for to play. You know, probably the most physical football game with your life. Rocking Lombardi, Your Richard junior quarterback. He's in Iowa native and he was a great recruit for Michigan. Say coming out of Iowa. Do you ever worry about him may beginning too jacked up for this thing. No, I don't. I don't worry about that. You know, he's ah, very mature. Comparator. You know this is a team game. You knows it's not upto one guy ever. You know, everyone has to do their job and trusted. The man next to him was going was going to do here and he's got a job to do. His preparation has been very consistent. He's been very steady and focused the meeting rooms and on the practice field. And with his leadership, he understands our process and he embraces and he works to process. You know, Typically what you see from players in practice. When you practice with intensity, and you practice with a seance or just see an attention to detail. You're competing. You're straining and you're fighting in practice. This is what you what you see in the game, and and so what I'm seeing from him this week, you know, has been a steady leader on the knows what his job is and what his role is on his team. But when we come back with more of our visit with Michigan State, the head football coach Mel Tucker, we're going to talk about today's opponent, The Iowa Hawkeyes in the moment right here in the TCF Bank Spartan Media Network. North side or east.

"Yeah, it's tough when Michigan loses 27 24. We're all disappointed here following the game, and that's what this show generalise about. Right. It's the first reaction. You haven't had a chance to go back and we watched the game. You don't know all the specifics about everything that went wrong. In the game. And so it's usually more of a big picture conversation after a loss, as opposed to going into all the very specific so you could look through and see. What? Some of the you know what some of the problems were on. It was. Ah, really disappointing game has to say, And so we won't hear from you. We're gonna get to the comments on social media. We're going to the phone lines here first at 73499 18 50 or talk with Terry Insulin, Terry. Good afternoon. Hey, I already doing I'm hanging in there. Embarrassing, though that was an embarrassment and my my question, you know? Mel Tucker. You know, people gave a lot of lot of grief, you know, for taking that job, and you know, stepping into it, and then the way they looked last week, But he came out and he got his signature wins. If you could. I know that you're a historian of Michigan football. What is Harbaugh's signature win that Michigan? Fair question, Terry. I mean, he has winds over. It seems that I've won the big 10 years. Whatever pence a signature win. Yeah, I got you, Terry. I got your answer. Thanks for the call at 7349 18 50. I mean, I I don't know. Maybe it's because of how people looked at the game at the time. I don't know. But a dominant win over Penn State that won the big 10 is probably a signature win. But I understand your point because it's not one over Ohio State. He has winds over Michigan State. I'm not sure any other there was the road game. Against the rain team. That was the first time he went on the road in Peter right team. That was a win for him, so that's probably to go in there as well. A win over Michigan State on the road, But your point is eyes fair because in his second game after losing last week and laying an egg at home against Rutgers, and maybe there was more to the part of the conversation that I did ask Sam Early the weekend. It was brought up a few times by people over the course of the week, which was Like we've seen Ohio State overlook like Purdue a few years ago in the past because you're thinking about Michigan they lose to Purdue and again they should lose was Michigan State, looking past Rutgers thinking it's all Walt Rutgers and preparing for Michigan and getting ready for this game? I don't have an answer that but Michigan said always brings their best against Michigan doesn't matter who they have football coaches. You got to give Mel Tucker credit for having his football team ready and inside the team wasn't ready and Assed faras what the signature wins our road win. What was that? Ah, couple years ago at Michigan State, or ah, the winner helm against Penn State against the writing the Wisconsin when another reign team at home that that was the same year that they beat Penn State. The one that ended with the Jordan Lewis catch interception, probably down in that kind of conversation, but again, it's not about but people want the signature winds to be over right teams and ranked rivals Michigan State and Ohio sister tear. Your point is made. I'm not not defending them. Just answer the question. Let's go to Delaware on the East Coast. 7349 10 50 talk to Willie. Hello, Willie. Yeah, I like to say that this is one of the most embarrassing losses have ever watched. Um, why are we running the ball? You ran the ball. Last two games. It would be them bad Look. Around 56 yards or something like that again. Minister OD only for 1 25 today with 31 attempt a sum like that. That's horrible. Tolerable. You gotta clean it up about well needs to go. Donna Braun's crap. Really? Thanks to call 734998 and 50. Email studio w t k dot com You can tweet us at Michigan insiders Go back, Teo, the phones go down to the glass. He just go to Toledo. Talk to Mike. Hello, Mike. Hey, guys. Uh, yeah. I just gotta get my make kind of echo and some of those sentiments to it's Ah, It's a frustrating game and I don't know what practice was like They're on the way, guys. I was a little concerned because I knew Michigan State was going to come in here. Ah, pretty loaded up and ready to go. The game Planning was horrible. I think anyone who has watched football from warden A couple years knows this when I'm concerned about with Harbaugh, and I'm not one of those guys who says Let's fire him and all that, because I think that's that's just, you know. Ah, Knee jerk reaction. But you guys, I got to say that I'm a little concerned, and I like Harbaugh as much as anybody. But I'm concerned with his his attention to detail and he's usually on it. Okay, but to not at least throw the challenge flag on that one play. That was so huge that third down If there's any doubt at all you got to throw the challenge, like his job is to protect that football team and give them every chance that they can't win the game. I'm so concerned with. Why didn't you say Well? Well, if you don't get it, Do you lose a time out? We still have plenty of time left in the fourth quarter that that play was huge. Even the guys on TV said that did not look like it Catch. Now. Who knows what the bad officiating throughout the game? Maybe they would have gave it to him. Whatever, but you've got to give your team a chance. And that was the most frustrating thing that I've seen with your body today. I don't know what is going on in terms of his preparation, but it's lacking this week, especially against a rival. I don't know if they got too many pats on the back. It's Minnesota. Oh, Joe Milton looks like Cam Newton. Let's get rid of that. Ah, you know, the offense old executed so great. The play calling was trash today. Absolute trash. The defense if I could just say this real quick. How do we have a defensive coordinator in D one football coaching at the highest level who does not know how to adjust in game? To playing man demand bump coverage and go into some sort of soft zone or something to protect those D B. That is ridiculous. You got guys who are getting burned on every play. Hey, maybe we should stop playing bump and run man to man when we're not getting any pressure from the D line. It is ridiculous..

You know, going to the game tomorrow. Really optimistic going to going to the next game. Just because of, you know, seeing the guys practice all week. City game plan unfold, you know. You know, you know, we have a really good process. And so you know about this, Tom A. We got actually a really good, you know, And then I start to get excited about the game, you know? Sure And and you also know, because you're very familiar with this rivalry. Obviously that if a Steve might say you throw the record book out the window Because of this rivalry and how many things have happened over the years that you kind of scratch your head and say, Oh, my, but that's because this is Michigan State. At Michigan Kickoff it noon in Ann Arbor are broadcast time starts at 10 30. And it's going to be a good game. No matter how you look at it exactly right. I mean, that's awful about it. These robber games are special. And you really can't throw, you know, records out the window and and so you know, it's not just another game. That's what makes college football's so special. And so I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity. Teo to compete and the Gamma NUS magnitude. I think the one thing that we can guarantees you won't have The turnovers that you had in that first game. I bet that was practised and practised and practised. Yeah, I've never been. I don't think I've ever been a part of a game that has has looked like that from a turnover standpoint, but we have we have Done, Uh, additional things in practice. Tio work to eliminate those turnovers. And so you know, I sat on it. In saying that this week so all things considered coach. What are you looking for? Tomorrow? I'm looking for a clean football game from our standpoint. You know? Ah, very, very physical game, but execution on offense, Defense and special teams. We believe in playing complementary football and you know, we all have to Everything's of our team has to be at their best in order to be able to get this done, Officer. We need to take care of football when you take it away. We need to be flawless on special teams, but I'm Ah, I'm looking for a strong effort from our guys are guys very motivated. They're very excited on the preparation has been good. Um and so I'm looking forward to seeing it improved in approved football team. All right, Coach have a great game and may the best Michigan team win. God bless you. God bless you. Thank you So much talking Michigan State coach Mel Tucker game, too, And it's a big one. "It is not official yet. But we know the big 10 presidents met, and the reporting from a number of different sources now is that 12 out of the 14 said we want to and need to Reluctantly pull the plug on the Big 10 college football season, at least for the moment and move it to spring. Want to get to the down and dirty about what's driving that decision with Steve Courtney? Who, of course, leads our team when it comes to Michigan State University football Hasty What's going on there, guy? How's everything, my friend? Well, I am sorry, because I know this is this would be a deep disappointment, and I have no doubt that it will become official sometime later today or tomorrow. What's AH, in your mind what's driving the decision? Why are they so doubtful that they can move Can't move forward with some quarantining? Well, first of all, guys, I participated in a zoom meeting with the new Michigan state head football coach Mel Tucker. Last Friday, and at that particular time coach Tucker was cautiously optimistic that the protocols that were set up would be successful and again. I say cautiously optimistic because he realised, of course, a za nation were at the mercy of this dreaded virus. Well, as you pointed out at the outset of our conversation, Big 10 presidents voted 12 to yesterday to end the fall sports in the conference and look guy. Here's the thing. I'm sure like me. You have been asked by a gazillion times going back to march. Is there gonna be college football? Is there going to be college football? Is there going to be NFL football? If I had a dime for every time I've been asked? I'd be a very wealthy man. The fact of the matter is our nightmare has begun because it's not going to be a shock to a lot of people guy. There's not gonna be college football this year, and the question is, why would there be

If they they weren't cheating that they wouldn't have won the weather's and like I said until they can prove otherwise going to be hard argue against that and then I'm saying even if they do prove they go out and win the world series this upcoming season. People still aren't going to believe that they can assume they're cheating because they're doing that already. With between nineteen season when just as the whole buzzer thing? Kind of started on twitter. People just assume that like Oh yeah Robert T to once. You get and wildness. I really agree with that. Line of thinking. It kind of interesting that he was so adamant on not getting New Jersey. That doesn't just like optics of it. Very bad But yeah so the accident to figure out a way to hold their team together somehow someway because like I said I hope I hope they hope to prepare to get hit. Somebody was as all jokes on twitter about how to raise. GonNa lead the League in lead the set the record not even leave the league's use me. Set the record for mostly by pitches this year again. They're going to get thrown at probably ev. Almost every day. But not every game but a good amount of games especially in season because everybody's pest And they also may have to fight because people aren't happy about this as you have you seen and heard from different players around me. People are very up a lot of again not even in things. Not even. Just pitchers are mad position players catches whoever? They're all mad about this and rightfully so especially if you were on teams affected by eared like rightfully pissed about this and they're gonNA take out that anger on ashes next year and I just hope for the actress Mae. Ready for 'cause it's GonNa be messy messy and if they don't and they don't know well. This season beating acid for them. Ankle spiral the whole this whole core a place. "Everybody? It's me little cop and the serene out podcast want to. We're just excited at a slam like a Diet Mountain dew about an hour ago and I got the caffeine flowing through my body. Can't wait. I broke down every. Xfl Game and I'm going to prepare us for this weekend. I'm totally kidding. I would never do that in a million years. But actually there's some interesting stuff going on. Mel Tucker. I'm going to start with that. Mel Tucker going to Michigan State and the amount of money the reflection of what it meant to the PAC twelve. There was a really really good article on Rick Smith the former Houston Texans. Gm on the athletic by Dan. Pompei who can just write a hell of article. It was a really powerful article but there was something specific in there that stood out to me from a scouting perspective. And I remember when I worked in the League. Louis Riddick used to talk about it all the time. How teams is a poor job of this and it's just it's he was dead on with something we'll dive into that and then you know there have been two famous players that I've seen by like a local guy in their market. Kind of go viral on my twitter timeline. One of them was Khalil. Mack and the other was Matt Stafford. They were GONNA get traded. And I think there's something we need to discuss while talking about trays in the NFL and while we see them a lot more last year we saw L. Beckham trade which I think kind of falls under this category but we see a lot more at the trade deadline. There are certain trays that are just impossible. Factoring in financial situations in this thing that they call a dead cap. Meaning the money that even if you get caught the guy or trade the guy that you still in core incur as a franchise so we just need to pump the brakes because I love a good trade potential trade as much as anybody and I re tweeted the Matt Stafford was GonNa get traded last night at about ten o'clock while I was laying in bed but then I realized like John. You just you need to pump the brakes a little bit and then of course. We'll we'll go into my mom's on instagram. So we interact with you guys at John. Middlekauff is my instagram twitter. But my my on instagram or wide open. Ask Me Anything and we'll get you a question here on the pot and want one more thing I have. I'm sure a lot of you guys. Listen to this podcast on collins feed. I also have my own feed. Just three out John Middlekauff. You can type it in itunes and find it one thing. I'd like you to do if you like to. Show seems like a lot of you guys do get a lot of positive. Dm's leave a review on my specific handle. The John Middlekauff. It has a little microphone and my name. If you're not already subscribed it goes on both if you want to. You can just as the these shows go to to that feed and collins feed but just just go on there and leave a review that'd be greatly appreciated but let's start with Mel Tucker Colorado and Michigan state because it's kind of been the big football story of the week beside the cheating astros which is baseball story but I'd be down to talk a lot about them but I have done that enough on twitter Mel Tucker after he was hired. I think in December of two thousand. What's where we two thousand twenty? So he might have been hired right at the end of two thousand eighteen or he was a Colorado one season and he just left Michigan State this week and I want to start with just a quick exercise if we started five businesses from scratch in. And it's going to be hypothetical in an industry where they could succeed with. There was more than more than enough quantity of people to consume whatever product they were doing and they weren't GonNa fail and we just let them all for ten years the five businesses and we check back in ten years. I think it'd be pretty clear. The hierarchy of those five businesses more than likely one probably two of them would be highly successful in. This is for this exercise. Let's just assume high in business you can make a Lotta money. One or two of them would be crushing it. The other would be somewhere in the middle. They'd be surviving and one would be a train wreck. One would be a disaster just the way the world works. You know. It's just it's just a fact. When I was growing up all five major conferences. Now they were line a little differently but the PAC ten the big twelve the big ten the ACC and the SEC. And I was born the mid eighties so by the time I started watching football early nineties mid nineties late nineties you just turn on the TV and it'd be good games all over the country and you just on any given year. Oregon could compete for the National Championship. Texas Good Michigan Could Ohio State Could Alabama Georgia Florida like the same several teams but it was. It felt relatively equal. Just you had your two or three top teams in each conference and they were all kind of competing. That's no longer the case. We have two programs of the power five. They're on a completely different level financially than the other three in really Oklahoma in the big twelve and clemes in in the ACC help make those conferences somewhat outliers. Because they're both in shambles but those do conferences dominate like an SEC or a big ten school when it comes to money when it comes to funds and when it comes to winning then you've got the PAC twelve and Dan. Wetzel wrote a good article this week that we need to stop using the term power five. It's really like power to Oklahoma Clemson. And then the PAC twelve is basically. It's actually much closer right now till the mountain west than it is to the big ten or the SEC. Because when Mel Tucker took the job. And I'm not going to go into some moral high horror story about keeping the job. He did make a comment about. There's no transfer portal in the real world. Which is a stupid comment because there literally is. I mean the great part about America. You literally can quit any job at any moment. You can do whatever you want to do. I can't speak for every country though. I do know a good amount of countries like ask the NBA about China. You're not allowed to do whatever you want. In America I could just stop podcasting tomorrow and just go work in insurance go work at a restaurant. I do whatever I want. So can you. Now we might not choose to but we have those options so he can say whatever he wants. The players a player can't just leave it program. They could transfer that the sit out a year. We all know that I'm not going to go into some huge deep dive into that. I think Jay Bilas world have that market corner but he got his salary doubled and he got his coaching salary. Dell is coaching pool for his assistance doubled any also is not from the West Coast. He's from the Mid West Coast in Michigan State. So I get like you. Don't love a guy being a one and done from a power five again allegedly power five but I think it shows you because all I've heard from the pack twelve people Colorado was being fiscally responsible. I don't think you can be fiscally responsible with your football coach. You could be fiscally responsible with the swimming team with the men's baseball team but one comes when it comes to football there is no expense that the SEC or the big ten spares on their football programs they cut corners with programs but when it comes to football in most programs men's basketball they pay for every bill every stinking bill in the athletic program without those programs. You couldn't function because every other programs in the red in one issue. I think we're having out here on the West Coast are school. Presidents are consumed with everything but football the Olympic sports academics. And I'm not anti academics. But do you notice this and there have been studies and they talk about it all the time on the broadcast when you win it football. It's such a national televised and so many people are watching your enrollment. Goes up your competition to get into the programs increase and I think Callan. Ucla would say what we don't need that to get there right. They don't well. The problem is the money that the athletic program is generating because they're not putting into resources into the football program. Which is why these coaches. We've had coaches in the PAC twelve. And I say we because I'm a pack twelve fan but I feel like I'm the only got an island beating the drum gotta change because this is not working. Michigan state just came in in the blink of an eye doubled. The Guy Salary doubled the guys assistant pool and the do left a pack twelve job. It'd be one thing if he was at Colorado state or Fresno state like. Yeah I get it. He was a Colorado which produces pros couple of years ago they they won the PAC twelve south. Like it's a pretty good job but when they're only paying two point seven million dollars in Michigan State's GonNa pay him six million dollars. I get it but my question is why can't Colorado pay the six million dollars? You went on a coaching search. You believe in this guy. That's the cost of doing business in the industry. The problem is the PAC twelve isn't generating the money they don't have the ability to just snap their fingers and write a huge check where the SEC. And the Big Ten. Do it all the time because in those conferences when another school comes after their coaches whether they're in love with their coach. Listen most coaches aren't excitement. We understand that. But if you've got Dan mullins and you really like them. Then all of a sudden Penn state calls you gotta give them a raise cost of doing business and I feel like the PAC twelve operating like a mom and pop shop. We gotta be fiscally responsible. Well when the MOM and pop shop moves in to whatever building. They're moving into to run their business. The rent check matters them how much you're going to charge them in rent. When Google or salesforce or facebook moves into a building. They cut a years worth the rent. They don't care and right now the SEC and the big ten they don't care when it comes to football there is no check. They won't cut and in fairness like the ACC Florida state. Did it with Willie Taggart the big the big twelve? They've done it in Texas before. There are programs that will do it out here. It's like we can't afford to go the extra two million a year. What is two million a year extra for football coach? If you believed in the guy would you clearly did because you went on a natural search after having the same coach for six years? And you already paid him now. I'm not even some Mel Tucker. Fan even open everyone that I text within the NFL. That have been around really like him a lot. They think highly of the guy but my my issue is the PAC twelve if we keep going at this rate because clearly they are not making anywhere near the money of those two conferences because they have this television deal that no one can see. Their football programs are not winning enough. They're not going to you know they're not going to the college football playoffs. I think they've been there once in the last five years they're even in basketball like the SEC. Notice if you fall college basketball did you see the SEC? Like Auburn's got Bruce Pearl. There are like a top ten program. Georgia went out and paid five million dollars to Tom. Green when you went football and you conference Wednesday football it trickles down the other thing we love hanging our hat on out on the west coast well we dominate the Olympic sports. Swimming Soccer Lacrosse. Well what do you think Alabama's GonNa do in five years when they go? You know what? We wouldn't mind being good at women's soccer and men's swimming too well who's got the best coach Oh? Ucla well how much they pay the swimming coach. Ucla they pay him one hundred ten grant..

"You guys voted against the the CU football contract from Mel Tucker. In the reason you guys did that is why? I think there's a number of reasons why you know, there's some growing concern not just among region shoemaker. But but some of the other regions on the board, particularly our new colleague on the board, Leslie Smith, she's a statewide elected. Regent who also voted against some of the contracts that team word in our meeting just after the first of the year. And I think our concerns really are predominantly around the distribution of revenue between our coaches directors administration as well as our student athletes. I think also we have concerns around the amount of subsidies that we are providing from other university funds to go towards subsidising large contracts for athletics coaches, and then there's the element. And I think that that's what this piece really focused on is. You know, how the university that it committed to developing the minds of young people. How can we wrestle with this game of football that seems to? Much of the new medical evidence points towards really have a drastic impact on the brains of young people and those are the three primary concerns so Jack. This is Dave Logan and Alica with Rick said, thanks for coming on in a in a qualify. My comments or questions with the obvious. I mean, I went to see you and I played football. So I think there's the elephant the room in terms of any any line of thinking from my perspective. Let me take you back to what you said about the contract of of of Mel Tucker. So was an issue in your mind because you voted it down as did. Regent shoemaker wasn't an issue in terms of how much money Mel Tucker was making an if so was there a line of demarcation for you in region. Shoemaker in terms of what you thought the contract should look like. So what we wanted to bring to the forefront by by casting. Our votes was the the realize ation by members of an elected board that we have a very risky game in which our students who are their families in trust us to develop that are going out there and a massive amount of risk healthwise. And yet are not being appropriately compensated, there's an element to Mel Tucker's contract, which basically says, well, you know, if the football team doesn't make the ticket sales and doesn't get the wins and losses we're going to have to subsidize this operation, even further setting aside. I think what the real issue is. How can we as an institution distribute so much of the risk yet onto the players yet? Take so much of the. Award of that rich taking up the chain to folks in administration. And I can't say that there's a specific number that we would have been comfortable with. I think we'd be more comfortable if there was a plan in place in one of the things I mentioned in the New York Times. Hey, can we move towards a system where we're setting up insurance? We're going to take care of them running to health issues down the line. Those those are the types of conversations we hope to start having now that this is getting a little bit more attention and folks are listening game. Yeah. I would I would be in favor of that for sure as a former player, I think that's an important important role. Let let me just ask you a hypothetical question just in front of our traffic break. If if the board of regents had to take a vote today as to whether to play football or not play football at the university of Colorado. What would that look like? Certainly vote two to play football. Now, how each individual's votes would come down. I can't speak to that. You know, my vote would would really look hard at something. You know, one of the things that we have now with the the new football stadium expansion is a lot of long term debt obligations to that institution. And we would need a viable plan to cover those obligations. If we didn't have football team playing in that stadium. And I think has. And this is something I said a few months ago on my other interview, we wouldn't want to see the university to take a hundred million dollar hit from other areas of of our operations to to pay that long term debt obligations. So I think it would be a long hard conversation that we would need to have. We're talking to see reaching chat. Curl tw- quick.

"But you know, I'm interested in USC that next chapter as you mentioned what happens at USC UCLA. What is the next chapter for them? Colorado's got a new coach Mel Tucker. We've talked about L Tucker a couple of shows ago. Yeah. Brandon Huffman talked about how he thought that was actually a really good Fidel looked like it was working out. Well, and then, you know, at the end of the day, I'm just real curious to know how Utah's going to manage to win nine games again shore and defy the odds, despite I know, come August. We're going to look at Utah and say they're seven five team. Yeah. We'll be wrong. Like we are every every year. They win nine games. I in my mind UCLA is incredibly intriguing not necessarily. The short term. But like an you're you are in this business. You're quite literally in the business of when when a website gets redesigned and ABC gets. Sorry. She's me. You are in the information technology business that was better that was bad. Yes. When when a website read is gets completely overhauled and redesigned or a new operating system comes out. What happens? Everybody hates it. Right. Oh, this where's where's the menu? Then a week later two weeks later, it's either real still really bad or people just get used to it people just move on. I'm curious both as relates to chip Kelly in his career and his legacy as a college coach, and for UCLA what this whatever it is two point. Oh, three point. Oh, four point -o redesign reboot. Refresh what we end up thinking about at the end of twenty nineteen with it that isn't that is incredibly intriguing to me USC turmoil upheaval, that's all well documented. I am genuinely excited to see what their offense evolves. Into Graham Harrell. Bears. Ona schools is clear tape. Good again. What is as you look like in your two of her without Todd Graham, guys how how deep are. They really even though he has recruited pretty well. The Mel Tucker thing is interesting to me. And you mentioned Brandon Huffman Mel Tucker. I believe is the one new Pac twelve coach. And I think I am more excited. A then I am skeptical of him. But I like to see what they look like on the recruiting trail and how much they go about doing things in an even slightly unorthodox way. I would have loved for Colorado to have hired the the Princeton offense coordinator who ended up at Oklahoma state. Like, I felt like that out of the box higher would have would have been really nice at Colorado because there it really doesn't seem like they're gonna be able to pull in top twenty classes. But it's a great place to go to school. And it's a it's a picturesque experience in boulder. I'm curious about that Utah. I don't think there's anything new to wonder about with Utah, Utah Utah under Kyle Wittingham. I just look at this. And I. A tale of two cities with the north being the sim city with the cool arcologies, you know, and things are bright and sunny and looking up and the south being just maybe that side that's gonna have a tornado or disasters are turned up to ten a high crime rate in that area is just rioting. Yeah. A lot going on in the south that I think makes it more interesting on the surface with Utah. Just like, Yep. They have a rent controlled building. And things are going pretty well people are paying the rent so nice little courtyard. Up north. Oh, I'm in for sure optimistic about Oregon, but I'm also very much in prove it mode. You tell me Justin Herbert's a top five pick. You tell me they recruited super, well, solid. They look like on the road last year. I am show-me prove it. Let's say it Washington..

"Country. Talked a lot on this show. All ready today about the transfer portal. What are your thoughts on it? I think there's something that we have to embrace because it's here, and I've always believed that we have to do what's best for the student athlete. And so is our job here to make sure our players have a good experience students, and as athletes and make sure that they become better people on and off the field. And in the portal is there for for them. And so whatever I have to do to to help our players. Here in boulder, I'm going to do and if the portals part of it, then we'll have conversation. But to me as whatever's best for the kid. Coach for the first signing period. Until now, obviously that are tremendous challenges. You're putting together a staff, and you're getting acclimated to the environment. What have been some of the challenges that you have felt have been the most difficult maybe to deal with as we head to Wednesday, February six. While just that. You know, you just have to take everything in stride. I mean, I haven't had any real major issues any real snags of the coaching staff is come together nicely, which is really one of the more challenging challenging things. But what? You know, right away that there were tremendous amount of grateful ball coaches who wanted to come the boater with me. And so we were able to put together great staff the players here. They were they really embraced myself in coaches it put in place, they're very hungry to get started. And and the recruits have been very receptive to to our our culture and our way of doing things. So all the challenges have been have been having good. And it's been very exciting. You talk about culture, you way of doing things can you describe for fans, but we hear a lot about culture. But what is culture, how do you implement that culture into that locker room with those players? Thank you wanna make sure that that you're very clear about how you want to do things. Hi, you want to go about things give them the why and make sure that you that you let them know that it's all about love and discipline? And when you keep a simple that way, I think the players can understand it. They can understand it. I think everyone in an administration can understand it. Love and passion for the game. Love for our players making sure that we care about them. I as as as young men off the field love for our university. We have a great a great university here. What tremendous tradition great education, and then and then discipline now, we're going to do what we're supposed to do how we're supposed to supposed to get done on and off the field, and we reinforce those things every day. And so I think that's how you build culture. Everyone's on the SCI page. Our administration our players our staff our fans, and so is a work in progress, but we will work very very hard each and every day to develop our culture. Culture. Now, you got a busy day over the next twenty four hours. So we thank you so much for taking some time out to join us and good luck tomorrow. Thank you. Thank you. Coming up. "New facilities and the athletic director Rick on a great job and putting putting things in place to give us a chance to win. The administration has Hungary. The fans are hungry. We have everything in place that we need and recruiting is going well, so far coach over the last few years, you had spent time recruiting in what I believe to be the most competitive recruiting environment and all of college football as you move over to boulder. How have you tried to instill some of those practices to give you guys Egede Colorado now recruiting in the Pac twelve. The first thing is not to not to have any self imposed. Limitations understand that we have a great a great university to sell a great football program cell, and we're going to go after the best player as very aggressively. The other thing is that we understand that we have to recruit every day. And there's not a day that goes by that we're not a rushing out of building relationships with high school coaches with with parents, and with prospects coach is more than one way to build a program. Some will come in as a new head coaching Gober old school and hard nose will come in and go completely high tech and want us all the latest of the latest with schemes and techniques. What's your plan to build Colorado to champion? I'm more of a more of a made potatoes. Not so much French pastry. I think we have to do a great job of building a solid foundation been with Technica fundamentals, planned smart plan, fast and and being relentlessly physical..

"Position guys aren't growing on trees. He certainly going to be one to watch Jerry on ille- with a one time ole miss commit. He's a two sport athlete. A high projected draft choice in baseball hill. Eventually have a decision that he's going to have to make an in-state defensive tackle is my associate for. He's a player that LSU has got to keep it home for two reasons obviously in state kid, but he's also a defensive tackle. We're LSU needs immediate help along the defensive front, and I think eerie lem is a player that could play on either side of the ball projects on defense and offense. So the more you can do the more valuable you become. So there's enough high profile names out there. They're going to make their Mark for a class or two here. And there. But really with the second signing period. I'm starting to become more. And more of a believer guys that this is about bottom or middle tier power five schools rounding out their classes and the group of five schools ending up building their classes, and there are going to be some great players that think they're in a power five situation right now, we're gonna find out they're not in a group of five schools gonna end up with some really good players in this class. So that leads me to my next question is fan sit around and they scroll through Twitter or watching on television. What fan base will be disappointed after tomorrow, Florida state because of what happened with John rise Plumlee as we just talked about they were finalised they need a quarterback. They don't have one in this class. They lost when the early signing period did not sign a quarterback in the eighteen class. And then, of course, dismissed the Andre Francois very curious to see what happens out west with both USC and UCLA those are the three programs Florida state USC and UCLA how they come out of Wednesday. I think we'll really send a message going into the offseason Trevor about where the programs stand in the eyes of prospects. Because that's really what matters here how are these pro- programs perceived by the individual prospect, I agree with you about Florida state. They look good on paper as we stand. Thank the number two recruiting class in the ACC just to Clemson. But when you dig down deeper you see? Terrific defensive recruits, but on offense, not so much. They need a lot of help on the off. It's they've got a four star off its Lyman. That's nice. But other than that not a lot of help for the line cupboard is bare quarterback outside of James Blackman. And I think that this recruiting class won't make this upcoming seizes team better in Tallahassee because of that. This time tomorrow looks you're going to be on what you're eleventh Cup of coffee making it through the day..

"So I think there could be from the smaller schools to the bigger schools in that scenario tomorrow at Nash. National signing day. And we have big news out of Oxford is four star quarterback. John raise Plumlee flipped his commitment from Georgia to omiss on Monday, so Alabama once again leaves the way at the top of the class rankings entering Wednesday's national signing day, the crimson tide are seeking their six top ranked class in just eight years. In fact, it's looking like a dominant day for the SEC as the conference holds the top three spots, which would be a first in the history of ESPN recruiting. So Tom will we see any shuffling around of the top five tomorrow? I don't know we're going to see a lot of that. Because just outside of the top five. You may have a Tennessee. That's not in contention to be top five if they were able to maybe flip George Pickens receiver from Auburn or sign the offense of tackle Darnell. Right. I just don't know if there's enough significant pieces of the puzzle that would sign with one particular team all at once that would bump. Out of the top five. Now, there may be some shuffling within that top five. But for somebody to crack it I think we'd have to see some surprises tomorrow with some teams between six and eight or so let's see a school like Tennessee doesn't have to be in the top five. They have to be better than they were trying to get things turned around and rebuilt. They've done a great job of placing the right kinds of recruits in there, including a couple of highly recruited junior college defense of linemen to help them that spot right away. But I'm really interested Tom in Oregon right now because they're they've got the number one recruit in the country cave on tiptoe defensive lineman out of California. I think a lot of balls went up with other top recruits as to why he went there when he could have gone anywhere. And then they are the number one recruiting class in the conference. I think other people other recruits on the west coast are looking at that saying, okay, there's you see there's Washington there's all kinds of Oregon seems to be hot again why? And I think they'll be able to get into doors with credibility now because of how hot they are in this recruiting cycle. Tom we've seen so many of the notable recruits sign early, but who's left who's notable uncommitted that we should watch for tomorrow, or we're going to have several that will end up signing on national Sunday with our coverage here peon, I think it starts off with the offensive tackle that. I mentioned Darnell, right? Highly coveted premium.

"They're all while they've told their team and their coaching staff that they don't really want to be there yet that team and that university is still providing aid still feeding them still training them providing them with academics services in these universities. Now have to figure out what they're gonna do with their scholarships. If this young man doesn't wanna be there. I just think we've got to do something to at least put the kids in a position where they truly have thought it through. They don't just get disgruntled Trevor they don't just say a, well, I'm not happy because I'm not playing right away. And I just wanted to leave right now make sure that they've thought it through to educate themselves on the right decision. I see that differently. I think the transfer portal should be able to remain open for a player a lot longer than just that. Because it will take a long time for him to get his emotions settled to get his search for a new school squared away to see which schools when he said before he should do that before Trevor before why does it matter if he does it before it doesn't now what's the difference? Because the university is in a position where they've got to make a choice in that choice may not include that young man anymore. So in telling the young man, he listened before you enter the portal, be sure you want to do this because I'm telling you now college coach, I'm telling that young man you enter in there. I'm not renewing your scholarship to build a roster. But Tom when whether he enters it before he's ready or whether he doesn't whether the scholarship or excuse me, the portal is open for seventy two hours or whether it's open for an entire semester. He's still can before he declares his entry into that portal. Do all the things you've talked about no matter how long that portal is open. I think for me the schools. I don't care if the schools have to pay him scholarship while he's thinking about it. I don't think should be indefinite for goodness sake. Right now the rule is that they have to. Give him a scholarship for the rest of that semester. For me. The key is will the school be penalized the scholarship if he doesn't leave until after the next signing day. So I think he has the should give schools a waiver for a player who is in the portal where the school can declare that they are not going to allow to scholarship then get that back even if the signing day passes before he does leave. I love that bring up a great point because the coaches and staff now have decide where we going to move onto. So Tom you follow this recruiting so heavily now. And with what we're seeing with the amount of kids that are transferring how is that change how coaches are recruiting. And maybe if they see one of their top quarterbacks is going to transfer now needing to want to have a backup top quarterback even quicker than maybe a two or three years that we've seen in the past. Maybe the single biggest change I've seen over the last. Couple of years is now programs are really truly holding over scholarships that they're choosing not to use either doing. In the first period or the first Wednesday in February. So that during the spring or during the summer, they can be in the market for a potential transfer for grad transfer and build a scholarship that player in mmediately. So we're in years past we didn't necessarily see coaches preparing to be on the open transfer market the way, they are. Now, I think that's what they're doing throughout the spring and the summer months, so maybe there's going to be some schools on Wednesday that has scholarships that they're not gonna utilize for that very reason. And then they'll figure out what they want to do with those numbers and those scholarships moving forward, I think that this is an area where it might hurt the group of five schools because if you've got a group of five quarterback wasn't offered by the power five school, you want it shows up with a group of five and plays exceptionally well shows that he can play at this level. And all of a sudden the group of five is goes that wanted it needs a quarterback because they had a couple of guys transfer. Now, he can take off and go there..

"No sleep until national signing day is over we'll get to national signing day in just a bit. But there is some news this afternoon as e AVI Anoma linebacker out of the university of Alabama has entered the transfer portal Anoma was on the SEC freshman list. He was also these star of last year Steininger day. So let's start with you. It's not like this guy didn't play he played in all twelve green games. Granted he didn't start. So what does this say about the players nowadays and the rush to want to transfer compete? It's not going to be easy. Don't just show up on campus and think that it's all going to be rainbows and unicorns. Listen Yabe Noma was d- premier pass rusher in last year's class. He is a physically town. Did young man. You know, why he didn't play very much as a true freshman because he wasn't ready coaches have to be able to trust that you can handle all the other things that have nothing to do with physical ability in quite frankly Yabe wasn't there yet. That's not an indictment on him. That's not a negative appraisal of his ability level. He needs to just hang in there. You're out of place. Trevor that's developing NFL caliber prospects and after one season where you did play some you up and just enter the transfer portal. I'd be pulling my hair out if I was called coaches across the country, particularly here, Nick, saving, Tom, and I can see it with quarterbacks because there's only one position you see the roster stacked ahead of you. When somebody else beat you out. You might not get on the field except for mop up time, but other positions there's all kinds of opportunity to play. Even if you don't start on the office of line, if there's a left tackle, you could move inside or move to the other side on the defensive line. You'll have six to eight guys rotate in and the top backups. We'll play almost. As many snaps as the starters same way with linebackers. There's all kinds of ways you can get onto the field when you're ready. And so from his quarterback standpoint, I think it's a different discussion a linebacker leaving to me that is inexplicable. And he's got a tremendous future. I think really there's two things wrong with transfer portal right now number one it needs to have a time limit on it. They can't just float out there for as long as they want and test the waters and number two. I'm going to tell you what's going to happen kids, if you decide to transfer you'd better have a place to go because college coaches are gonna tell you your scholarship will not be renewed. If you enter the transfer portal, so think long and hard about the decision you choose to make for the next four to five years. Okay. It's time you brought up the idea of there should be some kind of time limit for the transport. So if you work going to make the rules, what is that time? Limit. I think is be somewhere between forty eight seventy two hours with a kid has an opportunity to test the waters figure out what his market value is if he has one, but we're allowing these kids to go into this transfer portal and just linger..

"The way, there is some breaking news out of Boulder, Colorado Mel Tucker has officially been named as the Colorado head football coach he will leave the university of Georgia. I don't know whether or not he'll be in the bowl game or not. We'll find out soon, but my Bobo left a couple of years ago to go to Colorado state now Mel Tucker who worked with Kirby smart for Nick Sabin at the university of Alabama heading to Colorado to be the head football coach. So Georgia has an opening at the defensive coordinator's position. We will continue with your phone calls more guests. Come. We are live on a Wednesday afternoon. You're listening to Paul finebaum show podcast. Your words are out from the conference to a player of the year. Offense a player of the year. Josh Allen defensive player of the year riding manned special teams, Waddell freshman. Scholar athlete Jona Williams locking trophy. And Mark stoops gets the coach of the year that has been the question Mark, many believed he would get it. But he now has won it. And I think in the end it was the right choice. So welcome back some reaction to that. Is we moved throughout the program, which grab some calls. Tisch is up next in Arkansas. Hello tastes, welcome to the program. Thank you so much with I can my call. Thank you. You know, there's not much talk about Arkansas. I'm glad co Kelly town anyway, Georgia why why is they deal? Why do people not age or dish shit happen? And they play off my opinion. What do you think? Well, I think it's a matter really where your loyalties live if your objective, and if you're looking at the best teams, then you agree with that. If you're. An SEC hater, or if you believe in the old guard, you probably don't agree. And there are a lot of people who just frankly believe that the team that lost shouldn't be included the argument, I think Kirch three hat and myself and others because they look so good. They may have moved up in our estimate as opposed to moving down. But it's a mood argument. Now, it's not going to matter. I know that I know that. But it's still it's still disappointing. You know and everybody I heard today on your show letting show watch it every day. Thank you know. Boring. Boring ear for college football to me no year is boring year for college football. I will take college football where the NFL in day, and there's always some gum in college football. Well, let me let me explain what that Matt. What what what is? I don't want to say it's boring. We have the most passionate fan base in the country. And this is a college football oriented show that does talk about other things. But that is the the bread and butter and every week is exciting and different. I'm talking, and I think Pat was talking mainly big picture. We started the season with Alabama and Clemson at one and two we ended the season with Alabama at Clemson one and two we knew Ohio State and Georgia would be top five top ten teams. We knew Oklahoma would be up there. There were a couple of surprises. But not very many. That's that's what he was referring to. I agree with that. But call can mean college football. I would look to every college show. God understand that basically SEC that kill yet. We watch pre college football game that we can. And another thing I wanted to talk about what you need to Ryden at a book. Well, thank you. I appreciate that. Really? Really? I I will say that writing a book is difficult and the the one I did a couple of years ago. It was a perfect storm. And I don't you may have heard me say this. You may not have I did not intend. I did not really will set out to write the book. I happened. I was approached by some people who who came up with the concept. I never thought I'm going to do this book. I had a literary agent in New York, call me, it just happened that when he said, are you ever do you ever come up to New York? Happened to be here right now. I was I was about three blocks away from him. We met the next day. He proposed this idea. Concert at the same time or almost contemporaneous to that, gene. Whoa. Hausky who was my college classmate was approached by his his publisher?.
