"Who I thought would win the division. And they are 5th right now behind a red wings, the lightning the Maple Leafs and the Panthers. Boston has some minor tweaking, I think the goal is the biggest thing to get back on track. The metro, but one team on what is actually to add Pittsburgh, penguins and the islanders. These two teams have been two of the best in a metro to me for the past 5 years or so. Understood it, but two worst teams in a metro islanders at dead last 12 points, Pittsburgh, second to last at 14, these two teams were really need to pick it in to gear haven't scored a lot. Goalies have been subpar everything else, Pittsburgh, hit with the injury bug. So often, and so early this year, it never ever had a healthy lineup once. That no excuse they still need to find ways to win games. Same with the islanders, not accustomed to a berry tribes team doing this poorly in a regular season. But Western Conference two teams again, I'm surprised by Colorado avalanche in Chicago Blackhawks two of you worst teams in the division, Colorado after being the best team last year, and it doesn't look like it'll be that way. This year, Chicago after kind of going all in, looks like they won't even be making a playoff. Pacific, the Vegas golden knights, another one who I thought would win the division do well injuries have hurt this team. But also, I think the goaltending play not having anyone behind Leonard as well, hurts them again. So those are teams I'm worried about in the NHL. Now I'm going to react to last night's college football playoff rankings. And I really did not have a problem with the rankings at all, all the time 17 from last week. One, so we all stayed the same. You know, I was thinking maybe they'll put Michigan at 5. They had a nice Gritty win over Penn State Pena over Penn State, but that could have been inter Michigan. And me saying to jump Cincinnati even though Cincinnati won by I think 17 points so I was fine with all that Ohio State big win over perdue. You know, the chair did save it. Teams are closing in on Alabama. I agree. Oregon's looked really good Ohio Steve looked good at Alabama beat New Mexico state, which is a modular competition. At all, you know, of a Michigan Michigan state, people are still set over one being ahead of the other. You know, I'm not, again, it's all gonna get worked out. Michigan state fans, I don't think should be worrying too much about that. They have a lot to focus on this Saturday against Ohio State and even Mel Tucker realized that they can't worry about the rankings they have some of them bigger to worry about..

We weren't really motivated but when we heard that let's go rinse redskins chen. It just gave us the momentum and he gave us the passion and they gave us the fire ability to go ahead and get the job done a with a football game who the fuck about native american what they feel. We're trying to win a fucking football game here. So if they're offended or we're doing something that's very offensive to will fuck those guys. We gotta win this football game. It's a season opener. What the hell the same thing with the braves fans man fucking native americans man. We got a win. This world series. We got a window baseball game. We got to win this series and that means we got to chat and do the tomahawk chop for all three games. Will god dammit. That's what we're going to do. Then those fucking native americans to like it they can fucking suck my mother fucking dick buoy al. That's what we're going to be doing here. That the sentiment that we're going to have at that's how are we going gonna be expressing our racism in our ignorance and not pity intolerance atlanta an atlanta. May i'm going to be getting out of here. Come the late. Let me go ahead very quickly. Talk about some of the things in terms of college. Football is concerned. Before i get out of here. Some of the things that i'm going to be looking for the big ten is going to be setting the stage in terms of the importance of the weekend when you speaking about number six michigan at number eight michigan state. Noontime pacific standard time on fox. If jim harbaugh is really going to make that Continue to make the positive development that he's had the season to got to be michigan state. Not just because michigan state is in your own backyard state and rivals and all this kind of stuff. It's a matter of michigan. State has greatly overachieved. Mel tucker has done an awesome job and terms using the transfer portal to break in some players. That are that have helped him get to that spot but michigan state had clearly overachieved and michigan while a very solid football program. This at the time for michigan in jim harbaugh to really announce themselves in terms of. Hey we're here to Really do some things and beating michigan state which they should beat michigan state. I would say handily. Even on the road think would be a huge huge move for those guys Don't have the quarterback play of years past jim. Harbaugh was the poll. A quarterback whisperer the stuff that he did for a cabernet can alex smith and even before that in college and stanford with andrew luck but They have relied grossly on the running gains power. "Have tomorrow both last segment. Final segment of the program world sports last segment of the podcast window. World is sports so glad that you could be with us in the podcasting world of windows world as poor. This is going to be the shortest segment. That i'm ever gonna do time for me to go ahead and to watch the end of this. La dodgers elena. Brave cody bellinger. Tied it up five five. So i'm just going to cut this a little bit short. Plus i've been talking for over two hours so i'm just gonna go ahead and mentioned very quickly about college. Football new top. Ten is out number one georgia after their impressive performance over kentucky remains number one. Don't see anybody beating them anytime soon until the championship game the sec championship game. Especially after florida. Lose into lsu. I'll get to in order to run at another time. Him in lsu splitting departing divorcing the end of the season. Cincinnati coming in at number two oklahoma number three caleb williams about that number four alabama that law texas m. already miss is meaningless. Ed number four. Ohio state good comeback after losing to oregon early in the season at number five number six michigan number seven penn state number eight oklahoma state. No chance number. Nine penn state no chance number ten oregon the loan. Pet ten squad. Who probably didn't have a chance of getting into the playoffs. Celtic wacky happens despite the fact that they beat ohio state at ohio state. It means more. I guess for those who are ranking to have oregon struggle with california then beating ohio state on the road earlier in the season so upcoming games in a couple of weeks. You've only be having michigan play michigan state. That's going to be interesting of those teams in the top. Ten who. I could say that there. I'll fraud in terms of being in the top ten. I think michigan state and oklahoma state are those two teams doesn't take anything. Away from mel tucker. What he's done with michigan state program. That has no business team being anywhere close. They shouldn't even be right number nine in their own conference let alone in the country so mel tucker had done an awesome job in oklahoma state with mike. Gundy you know he's going to be losing in the bedlam chewed out to oklahoma. So number two iowa drops to number eleven after losing to produce twenty four to seven at home last weekend we knew from an offensive standpoint that iowa was fraud kirk rents. It would be nice if you can actually get your office into the twenty first century. It'd be nice. This is one thousand nine hundred ninety six three yards and a cloud dusk and having a quarterback who is able to lead you to a championship. John times change but That's great gig. Every couple of years he wins eight or nine games and contract extensions. I mean that's the way that I will roles then. Kirk for instance that he'll be there forever because he has mastered the formula of you'd never gonna be able to compete on a consistent basis with with ohio state penn state and michigan nor should you but You know he brings them. These guys a freshman builds a month. Richardson does all these things. As a football program reminiscent of Wisconsin but remnants football programs back in the eighties. Where you were bringing these guys and you were redshirt him and you know you have strong offensive lines and strong defensive lines and strong defenses strong running games and when these redshirt freshman become twenty two twenty three year old seniors then now that's when they hit their peak and then you start the rebuilding process all over again you for a rose bowl appearance..

"Sponsored by Wind Bed, Download the Wind bed app today on the Apple Store or Google Play win with wind bed once again. Here are Steve Courtney and Jamie Edmonds. Right, sir. Thank you very much. And speaking. Once again of our friends at wind bed. We want to thank them obviously for their support. And as we look at the monitor here, getting ready for Monday night football, you got the Ravens in Vegas to face the Reedys. And, uh, as it turns out, the Ravens are missing a little something summit running back down and said words Hill, all going, which opens up a nice little space for the former Spartan. Lady Annabelle recently signed Yes, we're in the purple. Now in the A F C north. Yes. Which means he'll be going against the team that you know all too well. Yes, I'm sure they're thrilled. I'm sure the black and gold want to see him, not Ravens, by the way favored by four. In this tilt according to our friends at wind back. Listen, speaking of the Michigan State, Spartans, I gotta tell you getting a chance to see it firsthand. They're playing some ball. 42 14 winners over the Penguins. Of Youngstown State and for the second consecutive game. Sparty starts first play 75 yard score. Unbelievable and never seen anything like it. No, I have one question, though. All right. What? Maybe hold that play for another team. Well, you know what I think? And and the play call by offensive coordinator J. Johnson was rather remarkable because you had Kenneth Walker to third. The whole world thought handoff to Kenneth. Well, yeah, and if you see the replay, it's rather entertaining. Because they couldn't get to Kenneth Walker the third fast enough. And boom. There you go, little, uh, toss and catch Payton, Thornton, Jaden Reid and you're off to the races, but I've never seen in consecutive games. 75 yards scores first play first play. Um, you know, uh, Mel Tucker. Is it kind of guy. That demands, but he's got so much respect. From this bar club watching it on the sideline on Saturday. You know, he's high five and he's coaching. He's doing this. But after time out if you're a starter, and you weren't in the lineup Because state starts to pull away a little bit. You're coming off. Everybody is high fiving Mel Tucker. He is a fantastic coach clearly. Clearly, I mean, he is completely revitalized this program. Well, okay. It's early two games much. From from the time you know what were we two years ago? Three years ago, it was like we talked about a dark time. They couldn't do anything on the field. Look at what they're what they're doing now. Paul, you know, Spartan football is based on being able to punch the other team in the mouth and run the ball and the numbers I'm about to share with your scary You go back to Kenneth Walker and the debut he had at Northwestern 264 Yards, four touchdowns. It was unbelievable. Jordan Simmons 16 carries 121 yards. A 7.6 yards per carry average as a team, another 272 yards on the ground from Michigan State, which means and I'm not going to boy with the math through two games they're averaging. 299 yards on the ground. Yeah, and they scored nearly 40 points both games well, and Peyton Thorn. Uh, who is playing with so much poise at that quarterback position 15 to 21 280 Yards, four touchdown throws. He also ran one No interceptions. He obviously was the right choice for its starting quarterback position. They had to have known this weeks and weeks ago. Well, I think it's nice to have the temple transfer Anthony Russo and experienced backup when necessary, but Who can argue with the way Peyton towards playing right now he looks fantastic. He looks so good in the pocket just waiting for the play to develop dog, your estate guy. You can easily make the argument that between Jaden Reid and Jalen Naylor. You have one of the great dynamic duo receiver combos in big 10. Yeah, they they have speed to burn, too. I mean, deep threats. Yeah, that's the thing to watch with the Spartans. I mean, they are just fast receivers and their deep receiver to well, yeah, just the top two. You know, it's interesting, and it's been pointed out Jaden Reid and Peyton Thorn. High school teammates, middle school, They are going back forever. They've been doing this since middle school, and I believe it shows there might have been the same nursery together. I mean, just take it a step further, So obviously they know one another very well. One other point about Peyton Thorne and I was listening to your broadcast. Steve driving into work, Jamie, you're welcome Plug. Um what a poised young guy when you talked about 9 11, and you know, we're lucky to be playing football on this day point and thank you to those who have served. I just thought that was a fantastic way to answer a question like that, for a guy who was like months old when 9 11 happened. Sounds like a young dude that you know is not taking anything for granted. But having the time of his life right now, yes. And you know now, uh, Sparty. Oh, I got to mention this because, you know, I'm sure you all saw it. Uh, Xavier Henderson, Second quarter pick. Oh, my God. Was that, huh? He goes up so bad words one handed. Boom comes down keeps possession and by the way on the ensuing possession, uh, Thorn found read for that 85 yard throat. So you know, football is a game of the sudden change and there are work to precision. For the Spartans, but that play was unbelievable. Pretty great, pretty great. I attempt to do something like that. It's at least six tubes have been gay. Let me mark that down, and I don't know other don't know what you're putting a book out. I don't even know what the over under is on that. But, uh, I will let you know this up next, and this is kind of a crock. It's a family show, and that's all I'm going to say about it up. Next is the you know, they get Miami of Florida on the road. 12 noon kick on Saturday. Now what's Miami even up to well? Week one. They are absolutely greased by Alabama 44 13. Last week. Last Saturday, they had their hands full with Appalachian State, right? There's still 24 in the country. I thought they fell out. They did in the coaches in the AP. Okay, there's still 24 at one and one Michigan State has been installed as a 7.5 point dog. Hmm. Interesting. Look at your eyes light up. I feel like that's something we should get on. I think we'll discuss that during the break, which It's going to be very soon. Uh, now here's the thing. Uh, all the best of the Spartans. So in that regard now you've got the Michigan football Wolverines defending the house in a squared. Against I thought of Washington team. That was trying to get Passed a horrific opening loss to Montana. Yeah, and they're going to have a struggle or two along the way because their offense Is anemic at best. Yeah. And what about the defense again? Everyone knows Blake. Coram's coming. They couldn't stop them. It was nice to see Michigan get back to some old school football. Uh, the way they went about their business because It was as though the late great Bo Sham Bechler was, you know, on the sideline, and it was, uh, you know, Run, Run, run him bringing up the numbers Right now. It was big 10 football from Michigan. On Saturday night in front of that maze out, it was pretty exciting. I thought 387 total yards for the Wolverines, of which 343 were on the ground. So that begs the question. What's Cade up to? Was the running game just so explosive that he didn't have to try and throw I mean, they are without Ronnie Bell. So it worked out, right? Know and, you know, Listen, I think if you can run the ball, I had a conversation with Mel Tucker about this If you can run the ball consistently, and that becomes one of your mos. What does that do? It just opens up your passing game immensely, right? But they didn't throw very much at all. They didn't have to. Not when you run for, uh, you know 343 yards. But we'll see how the season goes up. Next will be the Huskies of Northern Illinois. They'll be at the big House 12 minutes start, Lombardi. It is it is that flow that blond hair I don't know if he did a Drew Brees and completely Whoa. What is Drew Brees up to? I don't know what's happening here. Breeze looks different. I I don't know if somebody just gave him bad advice. My producer at channel for its like, Are those plugs ours attitude pay. I'm like, I don't know the answer, but it's something it is something. Oh, yes, it is something, but I'll tell you this about Drew Brees. I think he's going to be one hell of an analyst. I agree. I really do. And I think he must be a very nice gentleman so well. I've had to phone conversations with him over the years, and he's always been the nicest guy. He seems That's all I can say. Um.

"The middle. Caught on the fly. It's Jaden Reid in stride at the 30 25 20 down the left sideline cuts back to his right into the end zone Touchdown. MSU. Okay, That was 85 yards. So you've touched the ball twice. 75 85 2 touchdowns. Tell us about that touchdown. Hey, I can't score without the play calling And so shout out to go. Johnson again, Um Also shout out to the old line. You know they're holding up front. Uh, give it enough time to get the ball off and we're just executing. We're executing what's being called, and, uh, that's how you get points on the board. He was something before we go upstairs for questions. Just people that keep tracking them as your day was 181 yards, Uh and only important catches Syria averaging over four yards a catch. That's not a bad number. And those are in your long of 85. Then your college football career. Those are career highs. So congratulations on that. I appreciate it. So, Stephen, Jason, What are you thinking? I just want to ask Jaden. I mean, I know we're just two games in, but it's been Two pretty good ballgames in every aspect, Jaden and, uh, this team is going on the road. Uh, big game against the you next Saturday and correct me if I'm wrong. I think you guys are going into that tilt with a boatload of confidence. Oh, for sure about that. You know, you got to keep confidence like Coach Tuck. Always pressure brought respecting your opponent. And now we just got to go back and practice and practice hard. You know, The practices are hard in the games for us, so We just got to go back and be coachable. Do Coach Tuck and everybody else on the staff says to do and trust the process. You trust the process. A good things happen. Um So we just got to go in with a great mindset and try to give everything we got. So so great game today, Jaden. There was enough phenomenal performance for catches 181 yards Now I had the opportunity to watch your high school team play in person last night. Nice. Yeah, that's cool. They came out to Nevada Catholic Central Catholic Central. And play. You got a lot of talent on that team well coached program, and you and Peyton went to school there, right? Yeah. Talk about that, like your chemistry and the familiar area that you guys have with one another and how that translates into the collegiate game, which is unusual to go from high school to college on the same team and then have the success to or having nothing new for us. I mean, we've had a lot of great people around us. They keep keep us level headed. Um, they keep us working hard and make sure we're going down the right path. And, uh, it's been great playing with him since seventh grade. I've been playing since seventh grade. So the chemistry you know the chemistry is up there, and it's going to continue to build. I'm excited for Peyton. Uh, he's been doing a great job so far and I can't wait to it. See what he's going to do for the rest of the season. Just out of curiosity. Jaden When you're in the huddle, and coach Johnson dials up their flea flicker at the beginning of the game. You've got to have a hell of a poker face getting the line of scrimmage. Nothing new here. Nothing crazy going on. It's business as usual. Yeah, that's gonna be he's getting ready to block kind of would have looked kind of, like, Go about it like, okay. Nothing's going on. Try to try to look a little a little sluggish. Like I'm not getting the ball. You know what I'm saying? I kinda but your heart is just about being a what's going on, though. Yeah, yeah. Well, that's awesome. And you know, that's You know, again, two games deep there, Jaden and this team is getting contributions from all over the place, and we discussed that with Coach Tucker obviously in the opener. Uh, it certainly was the Kenneth Walker the third show. But when you take a look at this host of running backs at this team has, uh, a bunch of bowls for crying out loud and this offensive line starting to find their cohesion, and that's that spells nothing but good. Yep. Well, the one thing I think we've discovered before he let you go, Jaden. About this offense. We finally have a lot of dimensions to it. And now it looks like it has a lot of dimensions to it. So as you start putting your body work together, which is just, you know, two games deep. Um Gets you think they are. Offensive group has figured out what it is or what it can be. Um, yeah, I think you know us. Just having, uh, That summer to work out. You know that full summer that full spring ball? I mean, that just that was tremendous for us. It gave us a chance to develop as a group. You know, Bill chemistry as a hold, Um and just figure out what every player you know, strength and weaknesses. You know what I'm saying? So That was good for us to have have that time and, uh, we were able to build for it. We were coachable. Um, they did a great job in the weight room with everybody. Um, you see transformations from head to toe on the team, so I mean that that that pretty much sums it up, so we just trust each other. Uh, I feel the chemistry coming together as a team. I feel the brother bond on the team. And, uh, I mean that that's only gonna get better so I'm excited for it. Seventh grade with tape Seventh grade. Tell him, man. Oh, man. Well, record setting day and Mr Reid Fabulous. Jaden Reid. Thanks for joining us. I appreciate you sit down my to see you soon. Okay? No doubt back upstairs, guys. All right. Thank you very much. "R S Kevin Dietz. We have a big, big weekend of football in Michigan, and everyone is playing at home. We have the Lions versus the San Francisco 49 ers. Right here at Ford Field. We have Michigan State at home against Youngstown State, and we have Michigan against Washington at home as well. Joining us now is Sean Boligee. And Good Morning, Sean. How are you? And not always a pleasure. How you doing, Brad? I'm doing great. I was I was exactly right about not betting against Tom Brady. Last night 44 year old quarterback had no problem with the Dallas Cowboys. He looked like he was 34 years old. Looking good. Tampa Bay gets their win last night against Dallas, but I'm not so sure about all of these other games. Let's let's start with our Spartans. Youngstown State Spartans are given up 19.5 points. Uh, how good is Michigan State? We I mean, we saw him beat Northwestern. Last week, and that was impressive. That's a pretty darn good Northwestern team. You know, it was funny. I heard in the aftermath. Um, well, you know it was Northwestern. I think people forget how good Northwestern has been under Pat Pat Fitzgerald, so for them to go in there And knock off the wild catch the way that they did, uh, in their place. I think that's a big statement. I mean, you know how good is Michigan State? I don't know. But I'll tell you what, Kevin the pieces Were there. You had that running back yet? Good line play. You had a solid quarterback. You know, nobody was going to be reminded of that super defense from 2013. But They did enough to come away with that victory, and they should have more than enough when taking on Youngstown State who barely squeaked by Incarnate word. So, you know, listen to take care of business. Go out there. Do what you have to do make everybody happy for the home opener. Well, yeah, and you want to watch and see how well these kids are being coached because it looks pretty good to be on the road and to hold up as well as they did against Northwestern. We haven't seen a ton of this new coaching staff yet because last year was a crazy year. So we got bits and pieces, But now this is really the first chance to see. How well they're coached. And, you know, are they going to be making mistakes? Are they going to look past Youngstown State? I think it's I think there's still a good test here. Even though they're favored by a lot of points. Yeah, I agree with everything is a good test. You know, for for Mel Tucker and this crew again, you know he was hired at just a bad time late in the process. In a covid year. For goodness sake, So, uh, you know, it was great. You probably heard the conversation that he had was Steve Courtney. Here on 7 60 wjr. Nobody is planning any roses right now. They know there's a lot of work to be done, so they're keeping it, you know, in its perspective. Let's move to Ann Arbor, Michigan versus Washington. Those guys played for a Rose Bowl 40 years ago, and Michigan won. Michigan hasn't been winning a ton. The last. Oh, I don't know. 5 10 years, at least against big teams. How do you see this one shaping up? Well, you know, I think Originally, a lot of people kind of looked at this one and said This one might be intriguing because you're right, Kevin. I mean, these are two brands that have Kind of taking a step back. Not kind of taking a step back. They have taken a step back. I mean, Michigan hasn't been able to take care of business in the conference since 2000 and four, for example, but I think both Teams were teams that were thought to be headed in the right direction. Michigan lived up to its billing A. You know they did what they had to do against Western Michigan. In the meantime, Washington really struggled last week. Against Montana. So you know the mindset is, you know, where is Washington? Are they going to come in angry knowing that they are, or at least thinking that they're better than a loss to Montana? Or are they going to come in and be a sacrificial lamb for Jim Harbaugh's Michigan Wolverines? It'll be a good watch Saturday night. As two teams try to, you know, Spit shine that glory back on their brand. Yes, it's going to be big for Michigan State and Michigan. If both of them can turn the corner here and come out to and no to get off to a good start, fans, fans are going to get interested again. You know it was look. Last year was tough people. People weren't paying as close attention, and maybe a good thing for Michigan that they weren't It was not pretty. Um, But if you know any of these teams can get on a roll, they can get going and they mean they have a shot in the in their division. Maybe not to knock off Ohio State, but they have a shot at doing well. Yeah. You know what? I think both teams, you know, right now, the the expectations in my mind Kevin are similar. I mean, hey, let's let's do what we have to do to get to that bowl eligible level that 67 wins and let's see what happens there. I think that the two teams are very close together, which will make that game coming up. In East Lansing on October 30th Look, it's always interesting, but in a year like this, I think it's even more interesting because it could be the difference between dare I say, one team having eight and the other team having six ones. All right. And what do you think about the lions? I don't know what to think about the lions I want I want them to do. Well, I'm just fearful that they won't. I don't know. San Francisco is favored by eight points. What do you What do you thoughts? You know, San Francisco is a weird team because a couple years ago they looked like they were on the brink of something special. And then they just they fell flat on their face last year, So a lot of people saying, Well, the real 49 ers stand up. We know where the lines are at this is Look, This is going to be a long year. I think they're playing the long game. They had these extra picks. Do what you have to do.

"ESPN 1000. Hmm. Mhm. So Mark Xander Pouch Football executives excited on an opening weekend. Our weekend zero is every for two, the last last week when the line item Came out and brick feel model looked like he had the lie night together against Nebraska, and I think a lot of people sell. Nebraska wasn't very good last year, and Scott Frost is gonna get fired at some point this year. Since then, Ah unloads on him. Were apparent infractions, but Week one to week two. You thought they lie night of couch football coaches always like to say the biggest improvement made usually is from Game one to Game two and Here Come the line I hosting. The Texas San Antonio team that, uh, never had a win against the big 10 teams is there only 10 years old. They come down to champagne or they play fly the champagne. And walk out with a win that a lot of people then see coming. That's the wrong direction, Brian. Yes, that would be the improvement you're looking for. From week one to week. Two. Um, interesting because Was talking to Tyler, Rocky yesterday before our show. And that line. I think that the line I opened up 6.5 point favorites, which really wasn't big enough for my taste to begin with. It smelled a little bit funny. I think it was done about four by kickoff. So look Bread Bill. My, you know, said that they're they're working in progress, and they are But I think you've got to take care of business against a team like that. That basically is coming to cash a check right? That's one of those Seems the other the power conferences Illinois being, uh, program that's been down forever anyway. But a big 10 team usually Imports a team like that to come in and give them a little confidence and get a pretty, you know, dominating win and you give the Texas San Antonio team a nice check with a lot of zeros on it to go help build their life department but in turn out that way, Yeah, no, it didn't final there. 37 30 and yeah, the you know, against Nebraska. Obviously. Now that was that was a nice way to open the season, but it just goes to show you From Game one to Game two. There's there's some, you know. Things you have to. You have to fix from 2 to 3 now and yes, I think that caught people by surprise, certainly did me And Rocky Lombardi, who was a Michigan state transfer now quarterbacking the Huskies out in northern Illinois. I mean, what a great name rocking Lombardi! You gotta play football, right? My gosh said There's no way you could do anything else, right? But I mean, what is Rocky Lombardi? What? Really? Yeah. No, I don't want Iraqi doing my taxes. Yeah, Iraqi might get me an audit. All right. I want I want I want to directing a little too aggressive. Yeah, I wanted Rocky Lombardi, leading my team down the field at Georgia Tech and starting that winning drive with 38 yard completion. But I love the fact that the coach Thomas Hammock don't sleep on Hammock. Um Went to the two point conversion to get the win because they're in 18, a half point dog down at Georgia Tech. It's like easy decision. We came here to win. We expect to win. That's what we got done. I mean, you got to love that right. You gotta love that's football Coach. Speak right there. Yeah. Yeah, you do. And I saw what you did there with the sleeping on the Hammond. He, uh, yeah. Yeah, they're not. You get you get points for a dad joke there. That's a fine, I think is what it is. Yeah, well, yeah. I'm not gonna let me define I think of management will end up talking, but, yeah, Yeah. You know what I always love seeing the Huskies do well. I think that people sleep on them. As you said, Don't do that. You know, it's always fun to watch what they're doing up there into Cal, and that's a nice win. And I think you know, Northwestern. Obviously, it didn't have the results they were looking for on Friday night and Michigan State. That's a team that seemingly has a news number. And when Kenneth Walker a third I mean, he springs 70 What? 73 75 yard run 13 seconds into the game. ESPN had even joined the game yet. Right. All right. The show that they got there They were already down. Seven. Nothing. Um, that's the one thing about the Wildcats that I would like to see fix. They always seem to dig themselves a little bit, or even a little bit bigger hole than need be at the beginning of seasons. And then they rallied. For always, it seems like every season they come flying out in the second half and make it interesting and get into pretty disappointed. Make sense of that from year to year. I don't I don't. I mean, you know, there's Patrick's Gerald Seems like a coach. I covered in boy when I was covering Northwestern back in the day. Randy Walker was the head coach. Unfortunately. Lost Randy Way too early. Um And and Fitz was not only assistant coach, linebackers coach, I believe, but he's also the recruiting coordinator, and his enthusiasm is infectious. I mean, I can imagine when he goes into Living room and cells that program and what they the whole package of the education. You're going to get Northwestern. Everything else. You know, why wouldn't you want to sign on with a guy like that was hard castles into it. And your And But, boy, I had be disappointing for him because Michigan State under Mel Tucker, not very good last year and for them to come out and and throw that surprise party is well disheartening. You know, they can regroup. Obviously not likely. They will. But Not ranked and they have a new quarterback who's their own quarterback, So they have some things they've got to get fixed. But, uh, you know, the defense is a as much as anything, probably a little bit more of a disappointed disappointment on the offense. Yeah, Who? Who are they facing next week? That is a good question. I will find that out for you may be a long long list. There's so many here. Um Yeah, there's obviously there's improvement to make it they're going to face Indiana State. Next Saturday. See, there you go. There's the check game. There's India states coming to get a check with a bunch of zeros on it, right. Right. Well, this is their time to get some confidence back and jump on it. You're right. Fitzgerald's got a lot of energy. So it's really weird that they got to struggle out of the gate, but hopefully they'll get to it sooner than later this time. No doubt about it. 3123323776 is our telephone number. We've covered a lot of ground At this point. I'm talks of Blackhawks top of the hour. Ben Pope. It does a terrific job of covering the Hawks for the Chicago sometimes. Interesting article from Ben on Friday that there was a little bit of a shake up in the front office of the Chicago Blackhawks. That really went unnoticed or unreported until Bannon wrote that story on Friday, J Blank out who was the right hand man of John McDonough? For all those championship years. They both came from Wrigley Field and the Cubs and did great things for the Blackhawks. But we'll talk to Ben about some of the moves made off the ice and as importantly or most importantly, the moves in the off season. On the ice with with the visit winning goaltender coming into play, and hopefully Jonathan taste back, But there's a lot to cover their so we'll talk some hockey as well. We've got lots of time between now and 12. 30 when we get out of here to, uh Talk bears and talk white socks and talk council. Do it all here on ESPN. 1000 E S. P N 1000. "Throw out there But yeah i'm buying. I'm buying big on on you know like a. Where the san francisco forty niners can do potentially in this offense not only with the running game but the ability to take advantage of the one on one coverage they can get on the outside because remember. George kittle is back in. George kittle in the middle of the field commands attention and because he command so much attention with the running game that they have in place out of twenty one personnel. You're talking about one one coverage on the outside each and every dow brand new york is going to win he can win in a variety of different ways and even though he'll have to split some of that depot samuel i do like his emergence Another guy that will keep an eye on. And i don't wanna be a homer but i will say just keep an eye by fantasy football just keeping a close eye on the viscous should discuss chenault. I knew all on. Just keep an eye because everyone would. Everyone went crazy when trips. It's ended wide receiver stuff at the first rookie minicamp. The viscous should notice a guy that could be the h man. He could be the guy that does to fly. Sweeps did wildcat stuff the bubble screens stuff over the middle. The role that percy harbin. Play for urban meyer in the pass. Keep an eye on. The viscous should not. I'm not guaranteeing that he's gonna put a big numbers but of the wide receivers in jacksonville. This is one that can go big in in the second. There's a play. I know a reference that we put it on his tape. When he got picked play against stanford. I think it was fourth to And laviska shenault was either in the wild cat or they had given him the ball A jet sweep on like a fourth into the end. They didn't block the end and they assume that the end was going to crash down and he's getting well they didn't block the end. The ends not fooled. He's just staring at stanford defenseman just stare staring at the face to face and the biscuit channel runs in flush To get the first down there when he was in colorado and i remember talking to Mel tucker about that. Play our buddy. Who was colorado's like you got to go back and watch that so we ended up long story. We've been put it on the on the draft tape when he got picked. And i'm sitting here and i'm listening to all and i'm not going all the tim tebow stuff but i'm hearing all this talk about tim. Tebow wildcat. i'm at. I'm sitting here going like you folks to go watch la viscous chenault in the wildcat and tell me that you if you're giving your choice with those two options at the four yard line that you're gonna put tim tebow. They're not live is off saying it's all smoke and mirrors and in talking to people down there like they are just trying to find..

"You know, I say when you mentioned it was late in the game when it came to the transfer portal, I Did you saw? Michigan State had their spring game this past weekend, and you know there was a mass exodus afterwards. I don't like you know, they lost half dozen dozen players or whatever it's Is this something like the normal normal calendar year? Is that what you're talking about it being a late in the game or with it being this year and the free rolls and And we don't really know about the whole scholarship limitation and how teams might try toe, you know, stacked their their teams here. You're not expecting Michigan to bring You know, 2345 transfers in here. Well, I am thinking of that kind of in a normal calendar. And obviously there Yeah, There's a lot of people still entering the portal. There's a lot of people they were still haven't found homes, but I think when I stay late in the game, it's kind of ideally rather you hope to have that guy at least in the fold. Whether it's on campus or just having a playbook in his hand by spring ball, But that's not the case. Obviously, there's also the constraints of You do know that Michigan tends to target grad transfer types more so than then the underclassmen. Now there's nothing that they haven't brought in underclassmen, but it's just very rare. I mean, Edward Warriner came as an underclassman last year. Shape Patterson obviously a couple years ago, But you know, there are the academic constraints and I talked about this on my podcast recently. Like when I see I had dropped out of Michigan. Has a student after my freshman year in order to come back, I had to go to community college to prove that I was able to, uh, that I was serious about my academics again. And when I did that Had at least the benefit of sitting down and taking a look at the course calendar and finding out what what classes I just taking. We're gonna transfer over now, If you start your career somewhere else, your chances are you're not sitting there doing that. So You know that there's a good chance that a lot of the classes you were taking, especially with athletes. Sometimes, you know, not saying that athletes necessarily take easier classes because we've seen a lot of them. Take ones. That art of course, like Noah for Bush took the regiment that was Significantly harder than my film degree ended up being, but, uh, I mean on the athletes, they might not be, especially in their first couple of years. You know, when you're You don't know what you're gonna major in. You might be taking just glasses that are a little bit easier, just kind of active mate. You know, everyone pretty much does that and that could really affect the way that your ability to transfer in And you know, some people might look at it and say, You know what? I'm fine, look losing those credits. I'll make it up or I just I'd rather be in Michigan. Some might say, Man that puts me behind the eight ball aspires wanted to get that degree. So, uh, It's there's a lot of factors that go in the hole into the whole transfer aspect. And I'm curious to see uh you know what they end up doing because, Yeah. There are a lot of names out there. The Michigan State I've been actually. Like what? Well, there you have the element of like this mass accidents. Which I'm surprised that there, you know. Names out there are sitting there ragging on Michigan State feel like what is what is hard about Doesn't it doing in East Lansing? You know what you see any time you don't really play often. Uh, Go elsewhere. Uh, Michigan State is only older, fast one, right? I mean, Dantonio got them all in and then the next week. Abruptly retired, like so that shouldn't be that big of a surprise, right? No, it shouldn't be, Um But I've been really impressed with Michigan with Mel Tucker started as far as I mean, they brought in Guevara's crouch. This last week would have been a guy that would have been awesome TOC in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Came in second for him before he ended up building the Tennessee and Michigan's after him for a very long time. I actually met him back in the summer of 2017 when he was at its first unofficial visit. Just cut about by coincidence, and but they brought in a couple of feel like high end running backs, and they Wake Forest transfers What? You know, the one that kind of comes to mind and I'm really impressed with very little dude, but they shouldn't have to find a way to match that type of thing right? Because Mel Tucker He's being very aggressive about bringing in talent that might not have considered Michigan State had they not been leaving another school. So Michigan obviously, is Calvin, including Michigan State would not even with Mel Tucker. Coaching, but you've definitely got to feel to find a way to keep pace and so, adding some high end talent some way somehow would be priority one, especially the linebacker position, So it's really disappointing that Crouch ended up in the slanting. It's disappointing that Henry to two didn't end up coming up north. I know I'm just basically naming Tennessee linebackers. But are you sure crowds didn't Michigan and Michigan State because he put his bio? The University of Michigan? State, So I thought maybe he had also ready. Hey, did do that I may be splitting time. He's putting some time it That I was more amused and not to make. I'm not making fun of making fun of him here. I want to clarify that. But I was really amused by the spelling Just in general of that hole. That whole scenario that was really fun Toe do that. Been shot. Yeah. Doesn't hear football player. I said, we gotta go. We gotta, uh, get to Nick Balm Gardens, but appreciate it. Everybody, you gotta you gotta read with Isaiah. It's but its position by position. He's got. As I said, He's got some interesting. He's got running backs number five He's got Why receivers that number four He's got quarterbacks at number three. He's got safety's at number two, which I agree with, and he's got the offensive line at number one who So I see a good job. Last version I had the running backs is number one, actually the last two versions of that writing back to number one, so they felt based off of what happened last year. Wow. Okay. They got a new coach Isiah and the guy that young freshman who I think will play and he's got they got a senior deck and lead them. So I appreciate you coming on to talk to you later have a 26 year senior and Jamie Morris. Uh, whatever it takes that said, You know, many We had to go to a break. We come back. We gotta work on this draft. What are the lights going to do? We got nicked Bumgarner. He covers them. So maybe.

Jamie Morris Edward Warriner Isaiah Shape Patterson Henry Isiah East Lansing Mel Tucker 26 year Bumgarner Michigan State 2345 transfers last year Calvin University of Michigan half dozen dozen players Tennessee next week Wake Forest two

"Hit Man. Ms. Lerner at the Where are you? Two. Don't joke, Wherever it was, wasn't too and with his look alike in the windshield as I see him again, you know who's on now? Nothing but the whole truth. Isil's Oh, from Wolverines Wire. What's up, Isaiah? How is it going? Sounds like the new coaching staff is going out there. And they're working. They're they're working to Fanny's office as I was told in the program's store this morning. First off got gotta, you know, reiterate what I said affair that Wanda dies at the end of this new episode of Wind Up, making, Damn it. No, It's not true. Don't believe him. You're right is that it's at the beginning at the beginning. Well, these are no early on then. Uh, you know, it's obviously you see you're seeing between signing day on and today that with the new coaching staff is really able to do it. It's not even the new coaching staff, right? You look at signing day with Shaun Nua. Really seems to have stepped up his game last in the last week and a half. I mean, you got three defensive tackles knew of being the primary guy and all of them, But then you get a little bit of an assist with the rush on Benny Flip from Ron Bellamy. Uh, that I think goes to show you how important he is going to be a scar is trying to keep some of the top targets in From this local area from going anywhere else. I think that's a huge blow, particularly to Mel Tucker on Michigan State, right, because if they want to try to go out and get some of these guys, they're not gonna be able to have as much luck. Keep in mind that Bellamy has been a big part of the SMS Be circuit is really close with Curtis Blackwell. Curtis Black will already has an ax to grind when it comes to Michigan State. S Oh, it's uh s o. It becomes that much more difficult to started. Seeming like, you know, maybe a mess. You could sneak in there a little bit and get some of those guys, especially with Benny initially committing to the Spartans and then Didn't go that way. But the guy that I've been I've had my eye on since he got hired has been Mo linguist, the co defensive coordinator, cornerbacks coach. He's the primary recruiter on Both of the commitments, presumably both safeties. Four stars out of Tennessee. Uh, incredible what he's been able to do in short order, especially. Listen. I knew that one was going to commit today. I didn't know that Both were like I had a pre right for the for the first one, but they both fell within seconds of each other. Like I had the pre right sentence. All the 11 committed. And the Nets Groves. So I started to put the tweet into the to the article. And then Cody Jones commits the same time. Uh, these are guys that you wouldn't necessarily expect to see Michigan and be able to To get. They haven't really impressive offer sheet coming down in SEC country. No, there's no Georgia, Alabama, those offers sheets, but you do have Texas A and M you do you have? Tennessee was obviously reeling from everything that just happened, But, you know, I'm sure there's a little bit of extra energy and juice with Josh Heupel there. Uh So they have really nice offer sheets. They have a lot of Ah, you know, Notre Dame Penn State. All of those teams that you that is leased on the same level is Michigan and normally, this is not the type of guy that Michigan would be able to get. And you got two of them in one day. I think that's ah. There. You see, You see linguists flexing a little bit on Twitter afterwards, saying You know what? Michigan Nation you? This is what you need to be ready for. This is what's gonna happen. And Josh Gattis parroted it, uh, you know, And so you've now got a staff that's just full of Top notch recruiters. George Hello is part of one of those guys is recruitments like McDonald's a part of the other. You've got to tell your staff now they can recruit and now you're seeing what happens when you have a full court press. Compared to before when I would say like they've got Full court press going for a guy like Will Johnson that full court press isn't quite the same. Compared to what this one is now, right? Because now you have an entire staff full of guys that are hungry to go out and bring in the next generation of Wolverines, not just three or four. This is an Ohio State style now they don't have the results is Ohio State yet? But this is an Ohio State style staff in that every single guy on the staff is an avid recruiter, so you can see the philosophy change at work with the morning like this morning, which Kept me plenty busy. Unexpectedly. Well, you did say you were half expecting the yet a pre right on the one kid. And it makes a little bit of sense. Even though the inks barely dry on national signing day that you get Ah, couple commitments you realize you get to the Next cycle, and some guys want to get out of the way. My question to you is this weekend. Do I need to have my phone during the Super Bowl? The beyond a commitment watchers. No. Can I go and watch the big game on Sunday without thinking of Michigan's gonna be pulling? You know some additional four stars in from the south? Well, I'm not entirely sure, because I think that that this could be e think we're kind of going back to what things were when Harbaugh first arrived in that Things can happen very quickly. I would say that. Keep your eye out. I don't I don't know of anyone. Specifically, I have one. Excuse me. One guy in mind. He's a three star and Miles Pollard. If he wants a the same high school as Junior Coulson, he seems to be He doesn't have any crystal balls and for him yet, But He seems to be a guy that's trending towards Michigan. But like you look like what just happened with these two guys. They didn't have any crystal balls indicating that they were going to Michigan until yesterday. I believe so This is how fast something can happen with this staff. S so it's kind of Ah. You know, be ready for it whenever it happens, And so the class is full, and certainly they've got some room to work, having only brought in 23 guys the last cycle, having a bevy of transfers, a couple guys who Decided to go. To go to the NFL as well. So they've got the room to really make this thing with this class. Really stand out. Not to mention you. You'll be losing more guys next year. Just you know whether it be the draft other, you know other Avenues and such. I just think it's an exciting time. If you're if you're a Michigan fan, because.

"Terry Nelson, this is John Brandon radio Show on NewsRadio. 700 WLW We have checked in with the coach already don't have much more to talk about where basketball is concerned. We didn't hours worth last week with no games to play, so we're going to transition on the show tonight. We're going to move to football for our next segment. And right now it is my pleasure to welcome in the new defensive coordinator at U. C under head coach Luke Fickell. Mike Trestle back to Cincinnati after being gone for 14 years, Coach How are you? I'm doing great, Dan. I appreciate it. So you were here from 2004 to 2006 with Coach Dantonio. And then you went with him to Michigan State and you have been in East Lansing. Since. Are you floored by the upgrades in facilities that you see and Nippert Stadium. Yeah, There's no doubt about it. The press box at the stadium. I was actually when I was first getting back on the campus. I was asking questions about new athletic facility because they were just Building. It is. I was here last time and obviously that's fully completed. But, yeah, there's no doubt about it. The program's looking big time. I'm impressed. Coach this Terry, How you doing? Doing real well. You saw what took place last year and and how the defense sort of catapulted the offense. The offense started a little slow, but the defense was so lights out with what elite defensive secondary coming back and the pass rush really added to it. The offense caught on and and, you know, 40 points per game was outstanding. I guess people are wondering what defensive philosophy will you keep or add to or replace as you come to new defensive coordinator here? Well, first off offense averaging 40 points a game Hard for me to say that started slow. I mean that that's rolling pretty good. I think that both sides of the ball rolling Real well here in the bear can football program But dance your question. There are a lot of returning veterans on the defensive side of the ball and Certainly we're not going to try to completely overhaul things. I'm not gonna come in and pound my chest and say this is the way we're going to do it. We're gonna play to the strengths of our guys. And will the world be some differences? You? Absolutely, I think Pontifical done a great job of evolving every single year, But we will play to the strengths or guys and we're not going to try to change things with too much with the group we have coming back. Talking to new defensive coordinator Mike Trestle coach. You were at Michigan State for 14 years. You enjoyed a lot of success there with Coach Dantonio Big 10 titles, Rose Bowl appearances You got to about 14 playoff while you were there. I imagine you and your family were very comfortable there. What made this job attractive to you? First one. I would say Coach. Sickle is somebody I've known and he's one of the coaches out there that I said If I had the opportunity to work for work with, I would jump at that. Um, so I'm excited to work with Coach vehicle. I think the culture he has established right now is amazing. And and I was not going to leave Michigan State for some place that I didn't feel like I had that culture already set up, and certainly coach simple has that Um You know, I guess the bottom line with coach Dantonio retiring. Some of the people. I'm a people person. I'm not trying to move quickly. I think it's about the relationships we're putting in 100. Health is a week or whatever it might be. You have to be real comfortable and have great relationships with the people. We're with. And And right now, I guess that was an opportunity for me to get with some people that I trust here that you see in the place that I trust. And there's people should even outside of the coaches like John Witter can or other people that have been around. Four years since I was here last time, So it's been awesome. I feel I felt like a bear cattle along. It's been awesome to watch his program grow of the past dozen years. Coast Year 25 Year coaching vet. Obviously, you gotta grab some like a video game. Every level you goes, you're gonna grab some nuggets from each level. What is some of the last things or some of the mineral things that you remember just on each stop that you had? Not even each stop. Just so some of the things that stuck out to you? Okay? Were you threw me with each stop, and I've had a little bit of a journey. I mean, I have coached Division three. I have coach Division two and I've sort of been one of those guys worked my way up the ladder. Probably something that's interesting is my first six years of the football coach. I was on the offensive side of the ball. So I've experienced as an offensive line coach I've experienced of the Quarterback coach. And when you flip over to the defense of side of the ball from that you have a Little different perspective and something that's coached on one side of the ball the whole time and coach Trust on my uncle was the head coach at Ohio State. When I went there, and that was my first opportunity to work with coach Sickle. And it was actually coach Tres, who said, You know what I like to take guys who've worked on offense and put them over for that different perspective, and that's when I Lift to defense and certainly Um, I think having a background of both sides told me Um, Coach Tressel coach Dantonio most recently coach Mel Tucker and Michigan State. Ah lot of guys who Even though Coach Trust with an offensive guy really take pride and great defense really think that relentless defense is is critical to a great football team ball control turn over some of those Face. You know Fundamentals of football had been sort of raised with that. Um I guess just the fact that I've coached a multitude of positions, and he had opportunity Coach a secondary for the first time this past year under under coach Tucker it, Miss Michigan State makes me sort of well rounded. Talking to defensive coordinator Mike Trestle. You referenced your uncle Jim, who led Ohio State to the National championship in 2000 to your dad was a long time coach of Grandfather was a highly successful coach. Did you grow up thinking that this is something you wanted to do? Probably haven't had a false Saturday since I've Was born, and I haven't been at a football game. That being said. I think that.

"19 rebounds for the Knicks, meanwhile, tipping off at 10 o'clock tonight, Alan West Coast, I'll be a few minutes from now It'll be the Los Angeles Lakers against Golden State, the Lakers trying to improve on their 11 and three record. Steph Curry trying to carry the Warriors. He's averaged 28 points a game in his comeback season since last year's injury on the college Football, where news was made today in Knoxville, Tennessee, decided to fire football coach Jeremy Pruitt. After an internal investigation on revealed some serious NC double issues. Also, athletic director Phillip Fulmer is retiring. Supposedly, that is unrelated. But it was former who did hire Pruitt three years ago. Pruitt Steam went three and seven this past year, dropping his three year mark at Tennessee to 16 wins against 19 losses. Again. That's the fourth coaching change in the Southeastern Conference for the 2021 season, and former University of Louisville head coach Charlie Strong, is making the move to the National Football League. He officially joins Urban Meyer's coaching staff at Jacksonville. He'll work for the Jaguars on the defensive side. After serving as a defensive analyst under Nick Saban at Alabama, I guess Coach Strong picked up a championship ring to and Mike Trestle has taken over his defensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bearcats Trestle Who's the nephew of former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel. Previously coached. It's Cincinnati before going on to Michigan State is job became open because after a great season defensively, Mel Tucker is leaving Cincinnati for the defense, the defensive coordinator post at Notre Dame. And one player note. Ohio State's Krystle Ave. Will return to the Buckeyes for the 2021 season. Ah lobby was Ohio State's top pass receiver last fall with 50 catches for 729 yards and seven touchdowns. In just seven games. But like so many teams, while state now is looking for a quarterback who can take advantage of those good men on the outside, who want to catch the ball back to give you the call of the game also update you on the score of the Baylor Kansas game. As we take this time out. Final score again. It was Florida State winning over Louisville, 78. To 65. This is Cardinal basketball from Deerfield. I am G college..

"Ladies and gentlemen, the double doing you. Did you hear the story with Cris Collinsworth said about after that game? No, his one of his sons either was there. I think they wanted to send us with them and came running up to me. Said Dad, You're number one thing trending on Twitter right now what I'm doing and he goes. Oh, God. What did I say? And he goes double doing and he goes. Oh, really? For double doing, Okay? They got Yeah, I'd love the double doing. Kimmel is double doink Allen Chris two years ago today, Let's hope that doesn't happen in the dome. The Bears have a kicker, man that's like those don't have to worry about it anymore. From time to time, they found the car. Another big anniversary train nine years ago. Today, the Cubs acquired Anthony Rizzo from the Padres nine years ago. Today, huh? One of Theo's first moves, right? Randy wasn't it? Yes, it was that they just had him in San Diego, right 2000 kids because Theo came on board. What about October? 2011? So that would have been Jan of 2012. They acquired Anthony Rizzo. How about that? Very good. You're a couple guys on Twitter. Want to know everything. We were talking about last segment with the drop off, especially for Mac, You know? Is it too easy to blame? Logano was there's something there is. Is cool Mac, not winning as much as he not hitting the quarterback as much because of the scheme. Is there something Vigano isn't doing? That Vick did. Is it the stunts? The twist? I mean, like, what is it? You shut the atmosphere, right. You see, You said the atmosphere. You set the expectations for your defense. Okay, So maybe that's what big fan Joe does better than check regatta. I don't think that Chlo Mac is winning as much as he wasn't 2018. Whether there's an injury, whether there's something pulled, whether he's playing threw something at this point of the season, Every NFL players got some sort of discomfort there. And remember, you know, playing in the NFL. The challenge of it is playing through injury, sometimes. You know that pain but playing through injury sometimes, so that could be a legitimate excuse. That's out there. But for the coordinator, you're the one that said the expectations and if the expectations are to create turnovers and you get turnovers, they failed miserably at doing that this year. They did, you know, and the clothes that the only guy not getting to the quarterback. There's other guys not getting to the quarterback. And when you say not Justin Sachs, but in pressures, and we've talked about that already one. Unfortunately, Quinn and maybe he's come on a little bit, because maybe he's actually feeling healthier. Obviously, they signed an injured player. I mean, there was an injury, All right. I don't know Hollis. He could explain it is Robert Quinn. All those stats we talked about hitting the quarterback pass Rush win rate. He was terrific the last couple years. I mean, did it all disappear, or was he hurt? And I think It's pretty obvious he was hurt. I mean, he didn't play in training camp. I didn't participate in training camp didn't play in the first game and really had no impact up until the last couple of weeks. So that certainly didn't help because they were depending on him Bobs and while it may be undetermined, gets better. Maybe good point. We'll see Bob's in while what's up, Bob? Hey, I'm sorry, but I think the Twitter guys got to your first I was gonna ask about the change in defensive coordinators. Possibly being the reason that Mac and the defensive yells stayed down instead of getting back towards 2018 level. Well, Yeah, I'm sorry, but I don't know that. That's what you're gonna ask. Why do a project just I just happened to see it on Twitter and you're kind of went through that. I mean, I think God knows definitely an easy target right now. Maybe he is the problem. I don't really know. I think when you start assessing, blame or or You know, giving too much credit maybe too much blame to coordinators. It's like to me. I don't know. I don't want to say it's a gray area. That's probably not the right way to describe it. Your but I think it's sometimes maybe a little bit hard to quantify. And I knew you could speak to all that better. I mean, I know that smell stalker was here. Remember Mel Tucker? Yeah. Mel Tucker was here. And it looked like he had no idea how to call defense by Babbage to remember your Bob Abby Charles. So he goes down to the University of Georgia and becomes their defense coordinator or University of Alabama. He went to one of the two And what's the bet? He joined Saving Obamacare. You go through with Obama, and he looked like a world beater down there. He looked like a guy that was a master of of defensive philosophy down there. Course you play with some of the best athletes in the country and most of the teams that you're playing, you're much better than if you're not a touchdown or two touchdowns better than so Maybe you know, when you have the town, it's easy to be a great defense coordinator. When you don't have it. It's a little bit more difficult to be a great defensive cordon. I think I think part of the problem, too, is that the drop of Vic Fangio is highly regarded snow probably the best play caller. In terms of defensive minds that are currently in the league. So you had him in place in 2018 when they were as good as they were and how he was right. Yes, so it's like, even if even if Pagano's good or serviceable, he's not the best, and that's what you lost when fans you left. It's a good point. I heard water lot to mention the other day were where they were joking about that New Orleans game in 91 that Waddle played in That's the last time the Bears won in the Superdome was 1991 and, meanwhile,.

Sources: Big Ten expected to cancel football season; no games for Michigan, Michigan State in 2020

"It is not official yet. But we know the big 10 presidents met, and the reporting from a number of different sources now is that 12 out of the 14 said we want to and need to Reluctantly pull the plug on the Big 10 college football season, at least for the moment and move it to spring. Want to get to the down and dirty about what's driving that decision with Steve Courtney? Who, of course, leads our team when it comes to Michigan State University football Hasty What's going on there, guy? How's everything, my friend? Well, I am sorry, because I know this is this would be a deep disappointment, and I have no doubt that it will become official sometime later today or tomorrow. What's AH, in your mind what's driving the decision? Why are they so doubtful that they can move Can't move forward with some quarantining? Well, first of all, guys, I participated in a zoom meeting with the new Michigan state head football coach Mel Tucker. Last Friday, and at that particular time coach Tucker was cautiously optimistic that the protocols that were set up would be successful and again. I say cautiously optimistic because he realised, of course, a za nation were at the mercy of this dreaded virus. Well, as you pointed out at the outset of our conversation, Big 10 presidents voted 12 to yesterday to end the fall sports in the conference and look guy. Here's the thing. I'm sure like me. You have been asked by a gazillion times going back to march. Is there gonna be college football? Is there going to be college football? Is there going to be NFL football? If I had a dime for every time I've been asked? I'd be a very wealthy man. The fact of the matter is our nightmare has begun because it's not going to be a shock to a lot of people guy. There's not gonna be college football this year, and the question is, why would there be
