"Campaign volunteers in Pittsburgh. He spoke just briefly, he looked healthy even if his voice was less booming than we're used to. He's a bit off Mike in this clip, but seems to momentarily choke up a bit when he mentions what he's gone through. I gotta tell you almost towards the end of my life. You know? And it's totally changed my life. Since then and we know what's in, what's it say in this very right now? The coming months will determine if voters see his health as an issue, but while he's been recuperating other major issues have come to the fore. Like mass shootings and the Supreme Court ruling overturning roe V wade, polls show pennsylvanians overwhelmingly support legal abortion, and that decision could motivate moderate voters to back fetterman, who pledges to end the Senate filibuster to codify row into law. Republican mehmet Oz, meanwhile, has praised the court's ruling. Yet economic anxiety and soaring inflation still top the list of voter concerns, add in President Biden's dismal job approval ratings, and Oz is counting on voters holding Democrats accountable. Berwood yost is a pollster at Franklin and Marshall college in Pennsylvania. The economy and President Biden's performance are both at the same place they were in May during the primary. And so the foundational issues that are shaping this campaign have stayed in place. Now there's also the abortion ruling, Democrats are angry, but yo says it's impact on votes is still unknown. You know, we've never had a circumstance in a midterm election where an established fundamental right has been rescinded by the court. So we don't really know what it means. Fatter man even while recovering from illness has been using abortion rights and the need for stronger gun regulations to try to drive turnout among suburban voters who often make the difference in this closely divided state. Democratic activists are already doing the same 38 year old Heather is bus Schumacher works as an archivist, and lives in Delaware county outside Philadelphia. She says the abortion ruling makes things especially urgent. Her focus is on both the Senate and gubernatorial races. We have to hold the line in Pennsylvania. To me, this

Fetterman absence raises stakes for Dems in key Senate race

"John fetterman's absence is raising the stakes for Democrats in a key Senate race Democrats hoping to maintain a fragile Senate majority or keeping an eye on the race in Pennsylvania Lieutenant governor John fetterman hasn't been seen much since he suffered a stroke in May and underwent surgery to implant a pacemaker The democratic candidate hasn't been fielding questions from the press although his campaign staff says he's been walking 5 miles a day making fundraising calls and holding meetings Joe foster who recently retired as party chair in Montgomery county says the campaign told him they figured fetterman would start getting out in mid July Federman and Republican candidate doctor mehmet Oz had been exchanging barbs on social media with the Democrat portraying Oz as a carpet bagger after Oz filmed the campaign ad at his mansion in New Jersey He trolled the TV host with a video from MTV's Jersey Shore star snooki telling Oz he'd be back in New Jersey soon Meanwhile Oz laced up running shoes and went for a jog as he welcomed fetterman back on the campaign trail saying it will be good to focus on fetterman's quote crazy leftist ideas rather than his health I'm Jennifer King

McCormick concedes to Oz in Pennsylvania GOP Senate primary

"David McCormick has conceded the Republican Senate primary in Pennsylvania Former hedge fund manager David McCormick ended his campaign for Pennsylvania's GOP Senate nomination on Friday acknowledging that even with less than a thousand votes dividing the candidates the results of an ongoing statewide recount wouldn't get him enough to make up the deficit McCormick says he called celebrity heart surgeon doctor mehmet Oz to concede at a campaign party in Pittsburgh he told supporters tonight is really about us all coming together The concession means that Oz will go head to head with Democrat and lieutenant governor John fetterman and Pennsylvania's closely watched general election which could determine control of the Senate Easily won his primary even after suffering a stroke and having a pacemaker put in just days before On Friday he issued a statement acknowledging that he almost died after ignoring warning signs in a doctor's advice for years His cardiologist disclosed that he has cardiomyopathy in which the heart muscle becomes weakened and enlarged I'm Jennifer King

Supreme Court order could affect Pennsylvania Senate count

"A Supreme Court order could affect the Pennsylvania Senate vote count The Supreme Court is temporarily blocking the counting of some mail in ballots in Pennsylvania There's a tight Republican Senate primary between former hedge fund CEO David McCormick and celebrity heart surgeon doctor mehmet Oz and order from justice Samuel Alito paused a lower court ruling in a lawsuit over a disputed 2021 local court election that would have allowed the counting of mail in ballots that lacked a handwritten date The Pennsylvania law requires voters to write a date on the envelope in which they mail in their ballots but the envelope is postmarked by the post office and timestamped by counties when they receive it Ed Donahue Washington

David McCormick and Mehmet Oz Locked in Tight Race for GOP Primary

"At the end of last night, Dave was down 2000, 752 votes, meaning Tuesday night. Today, roughly 10,000 out of 33,000 absentee ballot votes were counted, and we, meaning the McCormick campaign, averaged a 10% victory, closing the gap by 1509 votes. Dave is now only down 1243 votes with an estimated 20,000 GOP absentee votes left to count. Dave is going to win. You'd rather be Dave McCormick with those numbers, and that trendline and you'd rather be Doctor Oz, and both Dwayne and I did the algebra. It's a ratio and of course Dwayne got it right and I got it wrong. But when we compared notes, it looks like. If everything holds the same, that at the end of round one, there'll be a recount. Mandatory recount McCormick should win by 2200 votes. I had him winning by 409 votes, and I had the wrong denominator. There are a couple of horses in there that might come close, but not close enough. One is Lancaster county's all screwed up. Another is Allegheny county is not all absentee ballots are out. There they have 30 odd precincts that have been counted. But Allegheny county is Dave McCormick's home, so one would have shown he's going to win those. But we'll know more tomorrow morning and we'll know a lot more Monday and then there will be a

Mail in Ballots Could Determine Outcome of PA Primary

"Who's going if you had to bet your house right now? Who's going to be the Republican nominee for the Pennsylvania Senate seat? Oh boy, we go from brown's playoff eyes to an even harder question. What I want to know, I don't mean to duck your question, but literally what we are trying to figure out this morning is how many mail in ballots need to be counted. And my answer depends on when we can get that question answered. Because McCormick has been leading mehmet Oz in the mail in ballots by about 9 points. So there's the potential there if there's enough of them that he could overtake on that. But we're trying to nail down how many there are. And there's a great idea. What's the minimum number of them that are out there, do you think? So what we think is what, in terms of yesterday morning, we got to count from the state in terms of returned Republican mail in ballots. And as of right now, there are about 20,000 fewer of those counted than there were returned as of yesterday. So I think it's reasonable that there's about 20,000 of those.

Amber Athey: Same Story if Trump-Endorsed Candidates Win or Lose

"Primary elections huge Of course amber they want to make everything about Trump but I mean he does it get involved in this cycle He doesn't make it about himself but he chooses Some candidates who run for office and win George W. Bush He kind of stays out generally of the process He's done a few events for camp but he isn't like really dig in Donald Trump said you know what I'm not done man I'm jumping in and I'll endorse who I want when I won You know what Good for him But there's a lot on the line for him He threw a lot of his weight behind mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania And that's not just it You got Madison Cawthorn in a really hot congressional race in North Carolina will know about today and Ted Budd in the Senate race in North Carolina too So yeah these candidates have a lot on the line but a lot for Trump for Trump too Definitely And there's always this narrative that emerges after a Trump endorsed race finishes up and if he happens to have that candidate lose all of a sudden it's proof that Trump has lost his power and the Republican Party and he's not the kingmaker anymore But if you win then you get the opposite article that's talking about how the GOP is a bunch of Trump cultists So it's really impossible for him to win Even if he wins he loses In this case It's so wrong I'm really curious about the Pennsylvania race because this candidate Cathy Barnett has had a really late surge in the polls and is apparently neck and neck with Doctor Oz and Dave McCormick So I think that's the one to watch I have a couple of friends down in North Carolina right now working with Ted bud and it looks like he's going to just run away with this thing So I'll give you my eyes on Pennsylvania right now for sure

Dr. Mehmet Oz: The Biggest Issues Across Pennsylvania

"You know people don't realize how big Pennsylvania is I mean 67 counties the western part isn't like the eastern part the southwestern parts not like the central part and they could go on and on and on It really is a diverse state in every respect What do you find are the biggest issues that people are raising as you campaign across the state Just to underline something you said it is actually a bellwether for the country because of that Because you see microcosms of the east coast the Midwest a rural areas Areas that have been deprived of support and areas that are incredibly affluent Issues with our questions start with inflation in part because Pennsylvania's know that energy prices are driving a lot of inflation and under our feet here is enough natural gas to power the entire country for hundreds of years There's two Saudi Arabia's beneath me So when people know they've got an answer and there's a problem in front of them as well they want to combine the two but they're frustrated that ideology has prevented the Biden administration for doing the simple basic things of creating an operation warp speed for energy policy to actually prioritize what we're doing with the domestic energy For that reason our communities are communities are impoverished We're not taking natural gas out of the ground We're not actually able to become energy dominant again and we can't help our allies overseas

"Inflation is affected by this Biden is blaming Putin for inflation Isn't Biden responsible for inflation About a question I guess this is the kind of roost that is infuriating to folks because you look around and you say they must be cameras watching me There's no way he really thinks we're going to believe that Putin causes problem when it has started well ahead I mean gas prices are already jumped in download Way before the Ukraine And the solutions even if Putin contributed to the worsening inflation are right here I mean imagine this If we could actually declare a domestic energy supply as a critical element to national security If we could just say that we could maybe allow people to get permitted drilling rights I'll open up our federal leds by the way our federal lens of mine to yours right Mark we are property And so one third of all energy in the country is under those federal lands that the Biden administration in his first week banned us from drilling and he still hasn't opened it Allow us to at least build pipelines or don't let woke ideologues and activist lawyers shut down pipelines that have a $1 billion in the production thus bankrupting the companies And for God's sake allow us to open liquid natural gas facilities in Philadelphia would help the city It would allow us to export to Europe and allow our country to be able to help our allies But can I give you one stat that will blow your mind Because I know you love if I were to take the natural gas under my feature in Pennsylvania and ship it overseas to countries that need it It will be the equivalent the equivalent of electrifying every vehicle in America Plus putting a soil panel in every home in America plus doubly wind energy So if you're a real big environmentalist you should want natural gas The reason the United States is way ahead of the Paris accords or anybody else is because we have natural gas So we naturally will be able to reduce our carbon footprint It's good for the economy It's good for national security It's good for the environment The question Mark I ask you is why do people hang on to the Green New Deal when we know scientifically it's a lie

"Crime is through the roof You have a mayor and a DA a DA put in there by Soros The mayor who looks the other way It's really awful The death rate in Philadelphia this is my home city and the Philadelphia and the suburbs And I think people are sick and tired of it I don't care what part of the ring What would you say to them Well we've got krasner which is a Soros funded DA who I voted against but has now made it very clear he does not think it's a crisis to have 550 people die a year in Philadelphia And the prior mayor who is a Democrat nutter I do free clinics so I had done a free clinic in Philadelphia and met him He wrote a piece saying what kind of a woke white crazy person thinks it's not a crisis when there are 550 black men primarily being murdered I can't walk out my stupid west Philadelphia because I'm worried about getting shot and I'm not worried about getting shot by cops You know I look this up I think there's 6000 police officers in Philadelphia There were less than ten discharges of weapons last year Not shooting discharges There's no police violence is not the problem here This is people killing each other because they know no one's enforcing the law And when that happens you are violating your coveted with the people The people say I'll pay my taxes I'll be a good citizen You make sure we're safe in the streets and you make sure your police are border They're not doing that either obviously because you've got a cartel run human trafficking operation And we've got immigrants being flown illegal immigrants being flown in the Pennsylvania under the cover of night So we're basically a border state

Dr. Mehmet Oz: People Are Livid About Philadelphia Mask Mandate

"What do you make of this masked argument now They're not following the science They're falling to political science And that's why the judge rules in Florida against the CDC's authorities saying they specifically she said it was arbitrary and capricious This public health services act was from 1944 During the Second World War it was designed to present and let it prevent communicable diseases from foreign countries coming into the U.S. by sanitizing us That's what that's not what matters are doing And I got to say as you know president Trump endorsed me in our Republican primary in Pennsylvania because he knows that I'm smart tough and will never let us down And these types of topics require mandate that someone with a bold voice who understands a bit of the science step into this Masks do not help us They have been demonstrated In fact none of the mandates made a difference The states that had the least mandates did the best The ones that had the most New York New Jersey was the worst Pennsylvania my state All of us did horribly during COVID because people passed mandates and made no sense So when president Trump says he wants someone to be smart tough that won't let you down He uses those two words or phrases to describe why he endorses me It's because of these kinds of issues We have been walking into these culture war knife fights with three by 5 index cards no more Let's be clear and precise the science was off here we're no longer going back that We have a mass in Philadelphia Mark In Philadelphia your city has a mass mandate People are livid about

"To let people die and lose their life savings because you needed your like whatever he did. And he's claiming that he's a victim in all this as well. He's saying that all the people got involved where shady in they went and ran with everything. It's just not true. They're not the ones out there. Buying a bunch of mansions in ferrari's living it up in south america going into hiding. They're not the ones doing all that. I just don't get how he thinks that he's the victim in all this. He's destroyed the multiple people's eyes and rightfully so. I'm glad that he was extradited and they caught him in the airport. Hopefully he'll get thrown in turkish jail for a long time. They found him with like thirteen dollars in his wallet. I find it interesting. That as soon as he runs out of the eighty million dollars that he stole three years later runs out of money. Then he can go ahead and like deal with the consequences of his actions is stupid. Eighty million dollars eight dollars after. Thank you get that much of a return on an app right. it's just totally shady. The whole way round out yonder mansions cars. This is just a dushi kid that came up with some great idea. "Whole city right. Yeah yeah so. And i think this is a lot like that. It's very similar to farmville. On some of the other spin awesome. There's been probably a few other spinoffs from that original. I think that's where eight and got the idea from to do this at that time. And so basically he scammed people out of it. Looks like one hundred eighty seven million dollars. Yeah one hundred and thirty two thousand people in a single year people. Yes of anybody reach seeing now. Yeah these are people that really believe this again. We're seeing this stuff over and over again where these people are believing that they are investing their money into something that makes a difference in the world and they are going to. Get some of kickback from doing that. I've been a victim of this stuff too. It's really easy to get sucked into especially when you're seeing proof that it does work. It's hard to walk away from that and that's how people are like when you're going up gambling you win like fifty bucks on. You're like oh. Well i'm just gonna go ahead and put this fifty back in the slot machine. Ask another twenty dollars in the end up losing it all. It's the same type of thing gambling basically. It's called the gamblers alyce. It's a very specific psychological issue that he will have they think tactically phenomenon where they think. Oh i short chop gains. And that's what these ponzi scheme washer smart at is that they show the short term gains her people so that they go onto facebook for go onto wherever in south dakota the same thing with the proto currency is one hundred percent. Yeah like all those schemes to it's endless. You can just scheme out of anything. We've got apps. We have cryptocurrency. Just ah products. Products fake services. Remember the psychics from new walk him. Oh my god yes so. I'm just doing a little bit amount on this to you. Said it was honey. Seven million one hundred thirty something thousand evil. That's fifteen hundred bucks per catholic money to in an app won't especially if you live in turkey. I'm sure they don't make a whole lot of money there. I'm not sure what the economic status of that region by. I don't believe it's that good so yeah. That's a lot of money for those people that can be a life saving type of investment and. That's why i always say. I've done stuff like this before where i just wanna see what happens and what you gotta do is be smart about it if you wanna try something great. Go ahead and do that but maybe only put like five dollars in it. Put money in it that you can afford to lose the okay with that. It's kind of like letting your neighbor. Bob borrow some cash. You're not probably not gonna see it again. Careful what you guess right you just gotta be okay with whatever you're putting out there you gotta be okay losing it. It's the same with going up to a casino. You just have a set amount. You go with. Euro came losing it. If you don't get it back in so far. I know it's like the first few were the ones making the money in under everybody else lost. Everything is typical ponzi. Classical pyramid scheme that we're just seeing across all different Avenues and platforms. It's crazy to me how much you can do that in a scary because it can happen to anybody. I don't feel like we should say all these people are idiots for doing that. Thing because a ton of people probably don't even admit some of the stuff they've been into. I admit my stuff. Everyone knows what i did. But i think a lot of people are embarrassed by admitting that happened to them and they would feel totally ashamed by friends and family didn't want to admit that they did the stuff. So that's what makes these teams of dangerous is because it's hard sometimes to prosecute some of these people obviously not mess case because it was such a large scale but like some of these smaller ones like the psychic lady that she got away with so much because it was just small. People were so embarrassed to come forward with that they had invested in that. They don't wanna be categorizes in the idiot category. I think we're all struggling in this world. We all want to be millionaires. We all wanna shot it investing in things that hopefully we'll get something back for. Unfortunately it's not a short term thing with any of that. I think all of that just takes a lot of time in you. Just have to be around the right. People have a financial advisor stuff like that. There's not really a quick way. And i think it happens to very few lucky people that just end up in the right place at the right time. That's pretty rare. You know up doesn't like one hundred percent is just the same thing. Some people just luck out but most of us don't so everybody's looking all the new face both whatever but you never know Everything yeah so esoteric but don't put everything into one basket. Basically you wanna have all different things. Everyone will tell you that. Any of them billionaire. Warren buffett says that any financial advisor. What category rhys iris. You you like to take risks. Do like do not right now and then. They always put it in multiple funds hall every single time. Oh yeah i've gone through with mine. He does a great job at those. Go through it together. You've gotta take control of your own money and you have to know what you're investing in and be comfortable with that so yet doesn't matter even if right. Yeah a hundred percent. I can't believe we haven't done burning the do that. Leary one hundred percent of. Yeah but anyway. That's where all this has gone too. Unfortunately there are some victims here to the sky name at he had invested quite a bit of his money and he was very young which is sad so he was out on a shooting range in decided to kill himself over this. Yeah i'm sure there's more victims that we don't know about. I'm sure there's more victims of all the stories that we've actually talked about on here of these stupid ponzi schemes. That people get sucked into impairments games where they put all their eggs in one basket and then they lose it on. And they don't know what to do with their life. Or i feel the worst for the people. That are a lot older in their fifty sixty seventies that they get taken by these things and invest a lot of their money into something and then end up with nothing with nothing in no time left but yeah young person. Iv money's not everything you can come back. You can now back. I know people have been homeless. Who bounce back so you can happen and this is so sad you imagine like creating an app is starting the process of going through this ponzi scheme and i doubt that this guy has a ton of empathy to begin with but thinking that some j. your choice your decision to drive a ferrari just end in a person's life because you're so damn selfish you have to have all the things and you were literally willing.

Being <Speech_Telephony_Male> made on <Speech_Telephony_Male> drugs <SpeakerChange> to <Speech_Telephony_Male> take us to that point <Speech_Telephony_Male> I'm very <Speech_Telephony_Male> optimistic about the vaccine <Speech_Telephony_Male> scenario. We've got <Speech_Telephony_Male> over a dozen <Speech_Telephony_Male> products that are out there. <Speech_Telephony_Male> Be Getting Ready for testing. <Speech_Telephony_Male> Some of already started <Speech_Telephony_Male> a Pfizer <Speech_Telephony_Male> this week announced <Speech_Telephony_Male> their their clinical <Speech_Telephony_Male> trial <hes> <Speech_Telephony_Male> on forty five <Speech_Telephony_Male> people just to show that <Speech_Telephony_Male> it was safe revealed <Speech_Telephony_Male> that these people <Speech_Telephony_Male> made antibodies <Speech_Telephony_Male> at levels <Speech_Telephony_Male> that were similar to what <Speech_Telephony_Male> you get if you actually were sick, <Speech_Telephony_Male> and this is an <Speech_Telephony_Male> interesting approach because. Because <Speech_Telephony_Male> this this buyback <Speech_Telephony_Male> scenes technology <Speech_Telephony_Male> never been actually <Speech_Telephony_Male> commercialized <Speech_Telephony_Male> before, <Speech_Telephony_Male> so if this <Speech_Telephony_Male> is not borne out in large <Speech_Telephony_Male> trials, <Speech_Telephony_Male> then we'll, we'll <Speech_Telephony_Male> be in pretty good shape. <Speech_Telephony_Male> Come the first quarter <Speech_Telephony_Male> of two thousand <Speech_Telephony_Male> and twenty one <Speech_Telephony_Male> because it will be able to use <Speech_Telephony_Male> these vaccines, <Speech_Telephony_Male> you know <Speech_Telephony_Male> that one and other ones <Speech_Telephony_Male> widely around <Speech_Telephony_Male> the world now <Speech_Telephony_Male> in Arctic celebrated. <Speech_Telephony_Male> There's lots of things that are being <Speech_Telephony_Male> done to government is saying <Speech_Telephony_Male> we'll pay. "Even though it's the first of all country, a lot of people were worried about the virus whereas this morning. One of the leading doctors in our country Doctor Amendment as the morning. Dr Is how are you doing good morning, John Happy July fourth weekend, and I got say I am struck by the Asam Ism that is sweeping the nation over the covert nineteen resurgence, and it's worth discussing server one has the right facts and the right perspective what we can do about it mimics People worried. They're scared. This hits. The barbecues scared to go see their friends. Let's talk to certain things were going well. The economy is starting to come back and all of a sudden. We have a certain. Is it real or the surges real in that there are more people have gotten infected I should point out that the median age of these people have gotten infected in Florida and Texas and Arizona and California. I speak to those states every day I visit their stations. That are my affiliates and those. States I hear firsthand their numbers as well the ages thirty five, and the median age in this area in New York City new. Jersey Connecticut area was twice that height of the pandemic for us when we were the epicenter so. There's a significant age present that has some implications, because although the cases are increasing rapidly, number of deaths have not increased. In fact, they're still decreasing now I. DO I want to caution everybody? That's already lagging indicator right so they're gonNA happen weeks after you get sick, but if in fact, the younger age folks are the ones getting ill, we know statistically they tend not to be. The ones admitted to the hospital of other conditions, obesity or diabetes hypertension, and in fact, the vulnerable populations we worry about are those people that. Overweight folks who are better type, intensive, chronic lung issues, and especially. If you're older that that's the one two punch off. You're in the hospital. Ninety five percent of admitted patients in New York City had those risk factors, but if the people in the south. In these surging states don't do not have those risk factors in theory. If they get admitted to the hospital, and get go, you can go to the ICU. They hopefully won't pay the ultimate price. That might give us a little bit more breathing room when it comes to mortality numbers, there's also the possibility that because we've gotten better at treating these patients. In the clinical management of the situation, and we have some medications now known as you know in a clinical trial was beneficial, critically ill folks at the steroid reservoir same thing and there's ongoing trials with a slew of other old medications. repurpose them to use the so if if all those work together, maybe these will translate into the depths, but nevertheless countries panicked and we've had examined white. White happened because just to set expectations. The cases in Canada and in Europe are one tenth of what they are in this country one tenth, so they're able to do things that we're not doing, which also means we could be doing those things and therefore grabbed back the power to control over this this virus, because after months of hard work. We seem to have lost our way. Well I had a friend of noise often say that. Any kind of debt the person dies scrub. The automatically put device, so the question is total deaths in twenty, eighteen, twenty, nineteen, twenty, twenty, some many or Real, the virus, related versus other that's why other man's why I looked this up not to get I was curious about the question of myself, and for March April and May. We have one hundred, twenty, two thousand more deaths than typical, but I wanna say something that's important and this data we have..

"Good Morning America. This is about table Tron. Catch Matisse here well. Our country is in a deep crisis. When is this morning is Dr Oz Mehmet Oz who has gotten a battlefield commission being one of the top doctors in the country now and being trying to solve and give advice to all American people on? How survived this crisis. Good Morning Dr Oz. How are you this morning? I'm doing well? I don't think I ever worked harder in my life. The information has been coming in pretty aggressively like a magnet pulling through needles in the needles are often it founded haystacks church deep for them but Even today I'm getting information coming in from overseas new insights on ideas that we should be exchanging with each other so I feel like I'm just pushing notes back and forth and trying to call the best of it the share with America the following morning. So what's the latest update of what's going on? So let's see two ways talking about what we're the numbers are in terms of this virus passing through our system so we have a chance to get onto the recovery. And then I wanNA walk through some ideas that may be helpful first off The number of people dying is still high but the number of people coming into the issue number people people having breathing tubes inserted once. They're they're those numbers are stable and maybe even going down a tiny bit which is good news because when the virus hits the hardest. It's when we are seeing rapid increase because we have to dramatically expand the number of beds we have and that's hard to do magic doubling the size of your house. The state has hospitals to increase by two and a half old that their capacity which is impossible without making A lot of aggressive changes to how you do things like putting patients in operating rooms and enough for surgery but for recovery Intimating people in the in the emergency room which you don't like to do all these things that hospitals across the area to do but now that we see where the top of this and we think we can stay here for a week. We'll start to see a decline in China. It took them about twenty four days from when they socially isolated and shutdown infection spread to when they finally flushed. The massive people through the system began to see a decline. That's how long it takes for the secret people to get sick enough that they're in your ICU. Now those numbers so that takes us towards a goal of May I for some of the country opening up because much of the country wasn't as hard hit as New York City and in fact it was his New York City but I do think for the major crowded urban areas. That New York is not going to be business as usual on May first. We're going to have to do some recovery. In fact I think I'm a heart surgeon. Is You know. I don't send patients home directly from massive surgery. This was massive surgery. The treatment was basically pulling the emergency brake on America. So we have to go to the recovery room for a while and then we'll get discharged home where life goes back towards normal and that recovery period going to be depending on three really important things first off. We have to make sure that we have testing without testing. There's just no way you can have any intelligent inside about how things are going. We didn't have testing at the beginning of this crisis. It was a single thing. No one anticipated simulation. Every scenario always assumed we know how many patients were getting sick and wear so. Hopefully we don't repeat that second we've got to have an aggressive program for helping those people who test positive not infect others and we have to get to all their contacts we can contain the virus and then thirdly we have to have enough hospital beds and capacity to take care of an outbreak if we miss so that we have a little bit of a safety net those three things that triad will allow us to come out of this crisis with a confidence that we cannot pull the emergency brake again because the political pressure on leaders to stop everything down again. We'll be mance when we have more breakouts and we will have outbreaks. There are GONNA be times. Actions Spread. Unwittingly one person goes to church and gives it to seven people. Now you gotta be able to stop it down pretty aggressively the one thing I see. It is two step process. One step is how to control the situation. Now and second step is getting the vaccine as soon as possible. Now you've been a big supporter on his hydro cts pro quin solution as a temporary solution gives us a an update where we our debt of course and the vaccines as you point out. Are the real goal. We have here but we won't have them for fifteen months as best. I can tell and I've interviewed a lot of the big leaders in this space and I'm very optimistic that we're actually saving time. I buy repurposing earlier research. We can actually save us a year or two of development time but it just takes a year to make somebody that safe enough to give it to a billion plus people right and and that's you don't want mistakes happening like we had with other vaccines where people sometimes get paralyzed or complications or are horrible. So we want to be safe and smart makes that works. But what are you? GonNa do in the meantime dockers or on the front lines. They've gotTa make decisions today. John There's someone going into a doctor's office emergency room asking for help. Doctor has to make a decision. What do I do while I was you know? My show is in areas in dozens of countries and one of them is China so I was aware early on of what the crisis was in China. I didn't I wasn't aware how bad it would hit us but I knew that it was captivating. Their medical community and population and I began hearing about hydroxy. Chloroquine is treatment that they notice because people who are taking it for example. Lupus patients didn't seem to get over nineteen and then over. Nineteen patients didn't seem to have lupus which is strange because Lupus autoimmune disease you'd think you'd have more of it so they thought maybe it was his medication. Hydroxy clicking because laboratory laboratory studies it does seem to dramatically affect the virus ability to to damage cells so they began using it. They did a randomized trial. Which is kind of trial? You want sixty. Two patients statistically significant reduction and. How long had a fever? How long you coughed. And this is important. They had cat scans All alongs and then the Monja incidents dramatic drop dramatically more statistically significantly more in the patients who are on this medication which is all a good news for the patients and in China. It is part of their national. Handbook Protocol. People come to the hospital. That is what they get now is not the only thing they get they get antibiotics and other things as well but it's part of their protocol. That's how strongly they feel about. Its other Turkey. Where my family's from same thing? They're a bunch of other countries that have Israel's move quickly in this area we don't know for sure if it works because one clinical trial in one center is not going to get the entire world convinced. But I don't think it's fair. Ignored that data. Meanwhile probably the most famous veterans disease person in the country in the in the world next adopt falconry is. This guy is brilliant. French researcher Dr He met with the prime. Their their President Macron This week for three and a half hours and Redo some of their new data which he sent to me just just recently and I'll summarize it thousand sixty one patients ninety six percent of the patients where free virus within ten days. That means they're not contagious anymore. That's important now. You're actually dealing with the real problem which people are speaking to each other. That would help Five people died out of the thousand sixty one ten went to the ICU so they were healthier people. But those are good numbers and you can't say significant because there was no control group but he noticed a couple of important things first off was safe. He didn't have complications from this drug competent combination and he was smart. This screen is patients and do the testing. The doctors are going to WanNa do these. Are PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS? You can't do it on your own. You shouldn't do it on your own documents together for you. The second thing he noticed is that blood pressure was a big problem and the people taking blood pressure pills haddish had problems and maybe because of the pill maybe because the pill reveal something about those patients. We don't know it's an association doesn't not causation. But this is important for doctors and pharmaceutical companies to examine. Is there an opportunity to to help? People not get infected by taking advantage of insight and should we we moving around medications just in case some of the medications might make it easier for the virus to hurt you these kinds of questions that he's raising and I listen. Let's go half a life ago. I was always taught a good doctor asks the questions. These are the questions no matter what. People argue about the final answers. We have to ask these questions that we can find out the best solutions for our patients. A now So you're educated opinion Were no guarantees that this could be ninety. Six Ninety seven percents of active. I guess it makes people feel better doesn't it? I'm encouraged that. We have dozens of good ideas. This being one that doctors around the country are starting to use people at zinc to the regimen by the way zinc is toxic to the virus. There lots of theoretical ideas and some practical ideas. And I'm confident that by the time this virus comes back day because it's going to go away. I'm hoping this summer a little bit because for a bunch of reasons partly we believe the virus swells up in. The humidity doesn't travel as far. And maybe it's because people are outside. They're not near each other so they don't spend quite as much but usually virus like this will go away for a while and they come back and hit us hard in the fall we to have some good ideas ready to go and the randomized trials are just started now the NIH just announced trial on this drug chloroquine that I mentioned and take months to do it. But it'd be nice. Studied kind of say that will be convincing compelling researchers to pay attention to and will have no for sure by then but in the meantime today listen you march into war with the army you have and so doctors don't have that many people in their army. This is one of the choices. I'm openly searching for more ideas and I love when people send me notes on on these for that reason the top brains of the world not country. The world working on a vaccine. You think a couple of them if you come up with some good solution in the near future. I'm very confident. Just had a big JOE researcher on my show recently and I'm confident that he's going to be able to help us. Let's you never know until you get there but there's some smart people who've done great work and we're listen. It's the right time to be alive because we have a lot more insights about these things than we ever thought possible. I'm an Ascari question You don't have to. We're friends you don't have to answer it. I heard some scary statistics that ventilators eighty percent of the people on..

"Good Morning America. This is the catch. Roundtable trump castle Matiz here Sunday morning. The concrete the world. We have a problem. It's called Kuroda virus with us. This morning is one of the smartest doctors I know we have with us. Fact Amendment us. Good morning doctor. Ause how are you good John? It's been a very active as his corner virus that if each headed states well you must be getting phone calls from every person you know and give us the update. Where do you think we are? Well the viruses a lot more contagious than attritional flu virus which is why it's spreading so quickly some numbers. I had the flu virus. I would pass it to about nine people over the call. If I have the corona virus I pass it to about forty five people so it. Rapidly accelerates through communities especially People at risk you know folks in nursing homes hospitals etc are the ones that get hit the hardest so it spreads the most rapidly. They're generally speaking. However mortality rate. We believe is going to be relatively low. You know maybe twice what the flu viruses now. The flu kills fifty thousand people a year. So that's not good news. But if he's not gonNA devastate the population but I gotta say John. We don't have a lot of these answers and I'm always concerned about getting people a false sense of security or panicking them and I. I I WANNA just call back to our roots as Americans the props long. She'd know what we're facing we've mobilized in times of war and crisis so this is one of those moments tell people the truth as Americans will buck up with what the issues. I'm very confident that our scientists and medical professionals will catch up to the krona virus. It's GonNa take a while. I mean the the vaccine for example. I spoke today to the men called the virus. Hunter Dr Ian Lipkin Columbia University with me. And he says we're twelve eighteen months or a vaccine at the earliest so we have a while to go before. We're through this tunnel but if people know what to do and I think the show will help them understand that they'll They'll take care of themselves. Doctor Ause you have some We were talking to you today. You have three particular.
