"This is AP news. I'm Rita foley. Inflation and the state of our democracy were high on the minds of eligible voters as America decided the midterm elections. We still don't know which party will control Congress, but the Democrats didn't struggle as much as their supporters feared, and the Republicans didn't overwhelm as some GOP had predicted, though top House Republican Kevin McCarthy says when all is said and done. It is clear that we are going to take the house back. Democrats are taking great heart though from one race in particular. The U.S. Senate race Democrat John fetterman won in Pennsylvania. It was a bruising and extraordinary campaign. We bet on the people of Pennsylvania and you didn't let us down. And now John fetterman says he won't let them down. Fetterman beat Republican mehmet Oz, the surgeon turned TV star turned politician who hours earlier was optimistic. When all the ballots are counted, we believe we will win this race. Fetterman had relentlessly hammered Oz as an out of touch outsider, while dealing with questions about his own fitness to serve after suffering a stroke in May. His win is a major rebuke of Donald Trump who endorsed Oz Sagar Meghani, Washington. Still unclear who won the Senate seats in Wisconsin, Georgia and Arizona that could determine the majority. In the House Democrats kept seats in Virginia, Kansas and Rhode Island, though many districts in states like California and New York have not been called. Voters Report Problems With Voting Machines

"I know there's a lot of adversity that have gone on. It's basically in the state of Arizona. Some of the polling places, the machines are not working, some of them are completely now some of them only responded to 9% of the vote, do not give up. You have to stay in line. You have to weather the storm. And I told some of y'all to make sure you vote early, make sure if you can't vote early and you can't go on election day, vote by mail. Don't get in the rucks of listening to the Republican talking points. You better get your vote out there because you end up today and stuff happens in adversity happening. It's your only chance to vote. And you walk away from the poll and you go sit at the house, you have just screwed not only yourself but the rest of America. But if you're out there right now, you're thinking about voting, you haven't voted. You haven't voted yet. The only way to the poll make sure you vote, endure to the end, our country is depending on you to vote for what's right. 1300 people that listen to me. And most people are conservative, and we have 18% out of 1300 people say that they did not vote today. I'm encouraging you to do what's right. Shout out to everybody that's given super chats on the YouTube channel. If somebody said something that I can't repeat on the radio or I can't repeat on the YouTube channel in the comments section. You know, I think that there is adversities. It don't make no mistake about it. There are adversities that are coming up at the poll places in the day of voting. You have to endure battle to the end.

How Could You Not Vote?

"I did a poll on the YouTube channel. You know, I got 2 million people on YouTube. I got about 2.7 million. I mean, 2700 people watching live. I haven't gone live in a way. I normally it's like thousands of billion, 30,000, 40,000 people watching live. If it's a big major incident. But we did a poll about voting in like 27% of people said they didn't vote today. And I'm hoping that they're saying it in vote today because they voted early. If we have 27% of people saying that they did not vote in this election. Then we should have 27% of people not complaining about the election. Because you can not complain if you're not voting. You can not complain. Don't waste my time, don't waste your time if you're not going to go to the polls and vote. Don't talk about Biden, don't talk about Trump. Keep your political information to yourself because nobody want to hear it because you're not a participating member of society. And you complain about something in which you don't plan to fix.

Election Updates for Kentucky and New Hampshire

"We're just waiting for some of these things to come in. I'm here for you. I'm here to try to monitor what's going on. We're in the gubernatorial race. If you look at the map right here, scroll over to the state there that has a gubernatorial remarks to it. It's just right now in New Hampshire right now, oh, it's only four votes in. So it's insignificant. They only have four votes in the Republican. I can't even see his name. What is it? That's a weird name. Chris Newton who is winning. Let's go up to some of the other races and look at them. Let's go up there and forget the house. Let's go to the Senate. Let's see anything that happened in Kentucky. So we got Kentucky results here and it looked like Rand Paul is ahead. There's only been about 4700 votes counted Rand Paul has 76% of the votes over Charles Booker in Kentucky. They got a long way to go in Kentucky. He's not even close. But right now we have, who is Rand Paul, we have Rand Paul winning in Kentucky. Let's go to New Hampshire up there at the top and see what New Hampshire got. A New Hampshire only 5 votes in right now. New Hampshire got 5 votes and all the votes have gone to what is that? Maggie Hassan. Hassan, Maggie Hassan, that's who it is in this all the Democrat. So not enough to give any feedback there.

So at 7 p.m. in Alabama, this pose is going to close Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kansas Mississippi, let's see Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, and Wyoming. Why Exercising Your Right to Vote Matters

"I've been I've been speaking about how we need to diversify the way we vote. We can not just only wait and rely on election day. I told you all that, then we look out here in Maricopa County and we have some voting places that the machines are not working properly. And people are literally having to wait hours for them to rectify the situation. And some people are walking away from the polls. Now, when this happens on voting day and you were not prepared and you're not ready to endure and you walk away with your only chance to vote, then there is a problem. However, my focus, my mission is to convey to you that we will overcome any adversity that goes on today. Because it's up to us to change the trajectory of this election and force the vote read all the way down about it if you ask me. That's the way I voted. That's the way I believe you should vote. So if you're in a state that the polls have not closed, do not be discouraged. Take your butt to the polls and make sure you cast your vote. Why, mister Tatum, why do I need to vote because people have died? So that you can have a right to be able to participate in this constitutional republic and be able to see a future that is acceptable, profitable for your children. That's the reason why you vote. Not because it's cute, not because you get the little sticker, which I have my sticker in the car. Not because you get these stickers and all this other stuff. It's because you have the right God gave it to us. We need to take advantage of it. And I'm just encouraging all of you who probably have not voted yet or you're waiting in line. You're watching beat Tatum while you're waiting in line just know that you have to endure, stand in line, hold the line because I believe it is our time to shine.

"I want to talk about fetterman, the debate between fetterman and Doctor Oz. I mean, it was a complete meltdown. How have we gotten to a point where fetterman is the only Democrat that could possibly run in Philly? I mean, running a Pennsylvania. How? The guy is mentally unwell. Joe Biden is dead. And fetterman is mentally unwell. Not only can he not interpret the, I guess, human interaction or the human voice, I don't know, he got to read close captioning. He lies. He got up there in line. In an article he said that he was against fracking. Then recently he said he's for fracking. Why can't these politicians just say, man, I was wrong? I speak to my constituency. I go to the community and I see what they want. I see what's necessary for our state. And that's what, and that's what I believe in. So I used to believe that fracking was a bad thing. As you know, a movies are a narrative. They have a storyline, and they are a visual medium, because you have to see things. And of course, the most powerful thing I think in 2000 years is the official electronic video surveillance of these drop boxes where you can see people stuffing ballots. And you can see right away that there's a need and a demand for their investigation of that. Now, a book can do things that are movie can't. And that is a book can be more thorough, more detailed, more systematic, it can explain things more fully. I mean, it's obvious from the movie 2000 meals, but there's a whole bunch of people who don't know or pretend not to know what geo tracking even is.

The Conflict Between Cultures

"When I was growing up, and this is something that, you know, I wasn't participating in it, but I noticed that there was a conflict between black people, Jewish people, Jewish people, black people, there was conflict between black and Hispanic, Hispanic and black, black and white, white. People act like everybody's walking around the world living in harmony. There's all these factions of people who hate each other for whatever legitimate reason they have in their own mind. But people and we live in a world where it's like we act like everybody's getting along and it's just like, why can't we keep it real? Let's get to the bottom of this. Why are there people in the black community that have a problem with some people in the Jewish community? Why is that? What's the reference point? Why is Kanye even saying this? Because he just thought of this one day, I mean, we get to the bottom of it. And for you to think that Kanye is saying these things about Jewish people and there's no Jewish people that say these things about black people, come on. Come on. Keep it real. There's conflict between races and cultures and it happens on a day to today basis. And we, you know, we try to play like we, you know, like we all get along. We don't all get along, bro every Christian don't get along with Jewish people. Jewish people don't get along with Muslim. If you actually look at the and I'm saying there's a bit between ethnic Jew and religious Jew. But if you go down to orthodox Jewish religion and Christianity, they do not go together. Christians believe that Jesus was the messiah. Jewish people believe that Jesus was not the messiah. Not let you talk about masonic Jew, but I'm talking about the orthodox Jewish precision.

If you gonna get mad at yay for what he said, you should be, you should be understanding that it's problematic that the founder of your company, what he did, what he stood for. Y'all ain't. I see Jewish people, some people. Not all. Some Jewish people pointing at the Adidas sign. Like, yeah, this is a victory for Jewish people. What the are you talking about? It's named after a dude that was a Nazi. He joined the Nazi Party. He making shoes for Nazis in what they call him the Hitler youth. His name is literally Adolf. You can't be that hypocritical. That's like me going in a company called Jameson. Let me just I'm making his name up. So if there's a company out there, I'm not talking about you. They say that there's a company called Jameson, right? And Jameson just fired a white man for saying disparaging things against black people. But jamison is the name of a klans member that owns slaves. Now, what how stupid does it look that I'm pointing at the name jamison like, look, as a black man, look, they standing up for black rights. Let's go out and support jamison. "Make sure you vote. If you live in Georgia, make sure you participate in early voting unless you're prepared. To sit in line on voting day for several hours. And you are prepared. That they may pull some shenanigans on voting day to try to thwart the election. Understand this ladies and gentlemen, I want us to be very cognizant and familiar with the attacks of the enemy. They can not, they do not want us to win. They don't want us to win. So they're going to do everything in their power to try to thwart our ability to take over the house of Senate. They are going to do everything they can. And if you somehow think that they are not listening to Republican politicians and pundits who are saying, don't early vote don't mail in your vote, just show up on election day. If you don't think they're listening to that, and that they're going to try to do something to circumvent your ability to go and vote, or make it hard, make it difficult, be unprepared, intentionally, if you think they're going to skate through, let you skate through, you better think again.

"And schedule you're free in home estimates. It is 6 12 Now the campaign 2022 on WTO. A lot of talk tonight about the fallout from last night's U.S. Senate debate in Pennsylvania between Democrat Jon fetterman and Republican then at Oz. WTO Capitol Hill correspondent Mitchell Miller joined us a little earlier to talk about the impact of the race. He says a few moments stood out in particular, those that highlighted continued communication issues following the stroke he suffered in May. It was clear throughout this debate that he had difficulty at times coming up with the words he wanted to and seemed to refer to memorize talking points. All of this, of course, related to his recent stroke. Of course, all candidates do that to a certain extent, but this was really more pronounced. On the other hand, he was at times energized and ready to jump in on issues he was ready to engage in, and that included his support for abortion rights and roe versus wade. And fetterman opponent mehmet Oz also had this statement that's getting a lot of attention about his position on the federal ban on abortion. I want women, doctors, local political leaders, letting the democracy that's always allowed our nation to thrive to put the best ideas forward. So states can decide for themselves. Well, the fetterman campaign thinks this is fodder for the next campaign ad, doesn't it? That's right. And they're already rolling out that ad. The fetterman campaign and Democrats felt like this was a big stumble by Doctor Oz, effectively stating that local political leaders would somehow have a role in a woman's decision involving an abortion. Now, although it could also be looked at as a poorly worded statement. Overall, Oz who's been a TV host frequent TV guest was glib as you'd expect him to be. He went after fetterman on his past positions on crime, suggesting he soft, and he never really directly said anything pointed about fetterman speaking issues, which was hard to ignore. Niche this Pennsylvania race is really important for Democrats and Republicans. What kind of an impact do you think the debate will have? Well, I think because it's such a unique political moment, it's going to be continuing to get attention, but because it's so unprecedented for a Senate candidate to have these auditory processing or speech issues during the heat of a campaign, it's really hard to know how voters will react. I think for the most part, many voters have already made up their minds, but it could have some who are on the fence, maybe have some second thoughts about fetterman's readiness, also keep in mind most voters don't watch these debates, just catch short reports on them. But I think also what is significant is nationally Republicans are planning to pour another $6 million into this race for Oz to try to push him over the top, also keep in mind this was a seat held by a Republican senator pat toomey, the GOP obviously wants to hold this seat just as Democrats want to hold the Nevada seat of Catherine Cortez masto. That's WTO Capitol Hill correspondent Mitchell Miller. Commanders head to Indy this week. They get back to practice today. We'll talk to rob wood fork next. 6 14. "Senate candidates, democratic lieutenant governor John fetterman, and Republican doctor mehmet Oz faced off on their one and only debate. Fetterman began the debate acknowledging what he called the elephant in the room. The stroke he suffered 5 months ago. He attempted to characterize Doctor Oz as a wealthy outsider unfamiliar with pennsylvanians. Oz returned repeatedly to the issue of crime. CBS News, chief election and campaign correspondent Robert Costa was there. This debate at times personal raising questions about issues like the economy and crime, but there were also exchanges about fetterman's health, 5 months after he suffered a stroke, fetterman used closed captioning during the debate, reading questions on a 70 inch television monitor placed above the moderator's heads. The debate format only allowed 62nd answers and 15 and 32nd rebuttals. Millions of Americans have already voted and there has been record turnout in a key state for the midterm elections. Our Mitchell Miller has more on Capitol Hill. Across the country, more than 7 and a half million people have already voted in 34 states, including Virginia, as well as D.C.. And in Georgia alone, Secretary of State Brad raffensperger says the number has already exceeded a million. To put that into perspective at this point in the last midterm in 2018, we stood at about 590,000 votes. Georgia has high profile races for U.S. Senate and governor. More Democrats are voting early than Republicans, a switch from this stage of the midterms in 2018. Figures also indicate more women are voting early. Maryland's early voting begins on Thursday. During the debate hosted by W HTM in Harrisburg, Oz accused fetterman of being soft on crime during his time as mayor of Braddock. The patrol order of police from Braddock, the small town he represented endorsed me. They supported me because what he's saying is not true. Violence skyrocketed in Braddock. "There's a huge categories category of companies, especially younger companies who don't have that luxury because they're financial conditions. Yeah, so they don't have the cash. And they don't have an alternative. And the way you sometimes solve that is stock for stock, because you don't say to people, I know it's hard to sell for cash at 70% lower than you were. So let's not do that. Let's do stock for stock and you're exchanging your equity for arguably a better one. What about just financing costs? How much of a chill that puts on deal activity too? Financing markets are tough. There's no two ways about it. And if you need non investment grade financing, it's hard to the point of very hard. And a lot of transactions Becky that require that are just stalled. I mean, everybody knows that. But there's also a whole category of transactions. Either because the credit is so strong or because it's stock rather than cash, which can go forward. But those that require non investment grade financing, for example, or what I might call edgy financing. That's tough. So roger, you look, you're like a legend and you're a specimen too. Obviously, I won't ask you, he's a friend of yours, but he's a personal friend, and I like him, and I would go all the way out of my way for him because he played a huge role. I would say. And like I said, I look at you and I think what a stud. It's cool. Because we didn't used to think of, I don't know, people that get heart trans in the old days when I was growing up. There were so many drugs you had to take to prevent rejection. We've got it down there.
