Permission to Doubt: Has God Failed You With Author Michal Brown
"I want to keep talking about this book. Has god failed. You a lotta time. You hear people a lot of times. You hear people say things like that that they just turned off. something happened. And it's heartbreaking. Because you realize that i realized that god really is your answer and it just breaks my heart that people have had these experiences that pushed them away from the very source. That would help them. So what do we say to people. When in your book has got failed you what do you say. I have a chapter called permission to doubt which is based on a verse in jude that never hear preached on have mercy on those who doubt saying. It's okay to come with your questions. It's okay to be honest. I wrote a whole commentary on job. And i still some of the wisdom from that what we learned from job. How job challenged god. But he challenged because he was a man of faith any felt. It's not supposed to be like this. And what we lay out in the book is the concerns the burdens you have got agrees with many of them. You're writing feelings. What god himself is grieved over these things which leads to the questionable wisely act immediately wasn't it wasn't bring about change really so we we unpack that in the book we go through. Wi prayers can be unanswered. But what god can be doing through it and how we can know the truth of god in the midst of it. We go through some of our wrong sociology. Sometimes it's that. God fail this but we had a wrong siale aji a superficial theology of just push button and everything goes well. Now that you're a believer just pray and every prayers answered and prosper. Sometimes it's a wrong theology that sets us up for disappointment so we address that in the book deal with the problem of evil. And how do we sort that out. How can you be so much evil and pain and suffering in the world of all good all knowing all powerful god created the world deal with those issues and then the objections to the god of the bible that he's genocidal that he's misogynistic that he's he's megan maniac that he's bigoted and transphobic and homophobic. What about the god of the bible. We tackle all the questions. And here's the thing is it's been almost fifty years in the lord. The end of this year will be fifty years that these are questions people ask and you think about it you gotta work discovered hate gays has got one oppress women. How do we sort this out. The amazing thing is the dp you get. The more you find answers on their goal ultimately is to get people to look at the

Are Black Creators Really on ‘Strike’ From TikTok?
"According to my best and friend of the pod taylor law from the new york times of twenty one year old content creator and dancer posted a fake out. Dance on tiktok. His name is eric. Lewis or louis. I'm not sure how he pronounces it in the video. He looks like he's about to dance to Medicine the stallion one of my favorites New single Thought algebra even at that and when the beat drops he basically flipped the bird and says to the camera psych. You don't know what psych means that means like I trust you in Slang from the eighties and he basically puts a caption that says. This app would be nothing without b. l. k. People black people. The video has racked up over one hundred. Twenty eight thousand likes on tick tock And it went viral on twitter. According to laurenz. And i'm going to quote here. Some tweets suggests that black raiders on tiktok had seemingly agreed not to choreograph a dance to the song which would force non black users to come up with dances on their own and prove how essential black raiders are to the platform in a later. Tiktok eric. the person who promoted this video sad black folks have always had to galvanize and riot and protest to get their voices heard that same dynamic is displayed on tiktok. Said we're being forced to collectively protest a user deja on twitter Said that black creators are telling each other to not make a dance to the new megan the samsung to prove they are the backbone of the app another quote. We are being exploited. And that's the core issue. Black folks have had in terms of labor. Mr lewis or louis. Sorry if i'm pronouncing correctly. These millions of likes. That should all translate to something. How do we get real money. Power and proper compensation reserve and the tweet from taylor today to frame this as an issue around dance credits misses the point. It's about so much more and speaks to broader issues of labor in the creator economy. We are being exploited. And that's a core issue. Black folks have always had in terms of labor. Eric said

"Unaccompanied act his three previous top. Ten hits all collaborations with other artists. Yon you're younger gonna gooney. We're gonna this'll become second nature to us after the song is just be know after it becomes a humongous hit of the next few weeks. We'll just been native spanish and japanese language right there. yes. I think the majority of the song is in spanish. There's some parts and japanese the name of the song itself for instance so It was powered mostly entirely by streaming activity in. Its first week with twenty seven point. Three million us streams and the track also debuted at number two on the streaming songs chart at number eighteen on the digital songs sales chart but doesn't quite have enough airplay to reach the radio songs chart yet yet yet. Just wait you just wait. All that chart chat has me thinking about some new chart contenders because last week was a very busy for new releases from some of our favorite female popstars. Let's take a closer look at four of these new songs and the first one is lords solar power. This is the first new music from lord sensor two thousand seventeen album melodrama and things are much sunnier this time around and there's a video to match this fun. Somebody funds This new song definitely has a laidback summer vibe. Which is not what you probably are used to thinking of with lord but the buzzer video sees her. In a two piece yellow ensemble prancing around the beach surrounded by. What seems like a commune of cello. Ladies or it could be called. I don't know they're carrying her like on a stretcher in one thing and she has a great lyric where she says. I'm kind of like a prettier. Jesus so i think she's leaning into that. You know the leader vibe. I'm glad that you pointed out. Because i i don't i didn't want to necessarily voice that opinion but it did feel very like commune. You know. we're all sort of you know a burlap colored outfits yes except for lord except in is the center of it. I'm a leader in the center of the a lot of comparisons were made to midsummer the which is a horror movie. So i don't think it goes that direction but who knows you know. We haven't heard anything else from the album yet. So maybe things get darker but she also announced that her next album will be called solar power as well Though she has not yet announced a release date this was just such a huge lightning rod. Relief like twitter lost their minds. I think between the lines not losing their mind at something that's fair but between the song being a sonic departure for lord and the video being you know so just easy to talk about. There's a lot going on there. My favorite meme from it actually overlaid a Humira prescription add over the video. It looked like you know when people are just having so much fun in those like prescription average. Look at what your life could be. Humira you too can be. Lowered unabridged yellow pills of new solar power project. Exactly exactly so. That was definitely probably the most talked about one last week but contending for that all how did. How did the chatter from this next thing. Not out outshine solar power. Maybe outshine there. We go maybe. Maybe lord releasing on thursday was a smart move because this one that came out at midnight Which is megan thee. Stallion's thought shit very fun song but this one is like one hundred percent about the music video. The clip stars a senator character who leaves angry sexist comments on one of meg's music videos all of a sudden he gets a call from the stallion herself and she puts them in his place and then his entire life is transformed where everything he sees is all just like torkan ladies. We've got garbage truck. Drivers grocery store workers diner waitstaff. Police officers all ladies ultra working and it is incredible all to end in a just absolutely honestly like i was watching the whole video videos loving it on the whole thing and then i could not have predicted. No how it all and i am. I was united warning. I didn't know what was happening at the end and i was like. What are they doing. What's happening what and then that. I was absolutely not expecting It's eye-popping it's indeed indeed and there's actually a great behind the scenes video that came out. I'm not sure if it was just yesterday. But that's where. I saw it on sunday. And it's one of the cameraman who shot the video. And he's doing this point of view shot where he's got a camera kind of like attached to his shoulders and he's he's filming one of the twerking ladies and he's moving around to like keep up with her moving and then you see the like half second shot from the video that it creates this like you know booty point of view. It's like but this guy had the greatest day of work you could tell he was loving life and he was just trying to keep up with her and it was kind of great so hard to keep up with the booty. It's hard to keep up next up. We had a a new release from doja cat called need to know. It's our latest peak at planet. Her which is doges. next album coming out june twenty-fifth and she continues the whole extraterrestrial theme with this wine in the video for the very softly song. That's that's just that's a very. That's that's her low key way of describing the track after seeing the meghan video. All of a sudden the doj like lyrics super but In the video doj out on the town. I mean out on the planet or whatever with her alien girl gang and meets a handsome stranger shares. Some smokey shops with her girls. They're like everything's very other worldly forward on star trek next generation. It's very like so. What brings you to town. Purple skinned man. You know it's her skin's green his hair blue it's all jetsons and definitely follows in the the kiss be more five that she and says a setup with her last video so i think wait and see what more we'll see a planet her before the release signed on june twenty fifth and finally we have kylie minogue cover of lady gaga mary the night as we discussed last week on the podcast. This is the latest cover song from the release of lady gaga levin. Born this way album which is now. Do not do on june twenty fifth. That's.

How to Win at Work and Succeed at Life with Michael Hyatt

You'll put in the hours crank out the work. can eventually. you'll be able to slow down. Give attention to your health. You most important relationships and and be able to have some semblance of balance. There are some people that choose sort of the opposite approach and we call this the ambition break where they just pump the brakes on their career. And they say look. It's it's not worth blowing out my personal health or my most important relationships so i will settle for less than what i know. I'm capable of in my career. We think and by the way. I wrote this book with my oldest daughter. Megan who is the ceo. Michael hanalani albany now but the we believe that's a false choice that that it's not either or as you said but it's both and and that's the double win double win fire nation and. I hope you're listening to michael right. Now you're asking yourself these important questions. Are you right now. Claiming a false summits about that. Are you putting yourself in a situation where you're facing an impossible choice. These are hard questions but imported ones. You wanna answer now not five years ten years from now and your book's subtitle michael is five principles to free yourself from the cult of overwork. Why did you choose to subtitle. We really came to the conclusion as we listen to. A lot of people like elon. Musk for example which has done amazing things in the world. How To Improve Your Running Posture Through Small Daily Changes
"Posture doesn't happen in a vacuum as negative. And all the rest of us know like if you have bad posture while you're running chance i mean this is not an indictment of megan and it's all of us right. We sit over the keyboard. We sit over the steering wheel. We sit over. Lunch is look at our over the microphone. While you're over the microphone. Exactly yeah i mean. It's just constantly in this common hunched position as a result. You know it's not like you're going to be able to just like oh. I'm going to go right now and now. I'm going to work really hard on my posture right. That's like trying to put a square peg into a round hole. Like that's going to be hard. So i would say yes absolutely work on your posture but do it all day. Long which again feels like a mandate which is kind of sucky a couple of things that are easy to do you know getting up and walking around and when you get up from your desk and walk around or from along time sitting you know. Roll your shoulders back. Stand up straight. Walk looking forward not down One of the things that i find really. But i've been told to do it more times than i care to. Count is holding your phone up to your face set of tipping your neck phone okay. Yeah so that. That's hard. I mean it's it's definitely it's a little geeky and it's it's a little hard to do but again that's one thing again like maybe one small change. Try that every once in a while instead of constantly bending down then other things that we'll talk about some tips on the road for a second but other things that really helped me with posture taking a pilates class. Pilates class is so key for helping you like always find a space in my spine is kind of what i think about when i think about posture is really like trying to maximize the height of my vertebrae in my spine and so after every pilates class had always feel taller and it could be a mat pilates class. You don't have to go and spend thirty dollars on a reformer class. You can go matt free map lot class off of youtube and see how that goes feldon crisis another one Feldon crisis a method that is the movements are super super small kind of feeling restless. Felt crisis not the exercise for you because literally like you lie on the ground. You're like your shoulder backing inch for this back and forth probably ten times and then you kind of evaluate how you feel but again. That's the class. That usually the ones that i've taken are close to forty five fifty minutes. You leave and you're like oh my gosh what just happened. I am totally

"Who's doing what. Sometimes it feels like it gets cluttered But as far as people you know. I think i don't know it's hard to answer it because there's so many people that on different levels are doing amazing stuff like obviously all of the nfl from spencer producers What the differences at this point. 'cause it seems like all the kids are on their laptops producing their own so like i don't know i think it's a hard question answer on china to make it on just curious because you know i spent some time with ryan tetter a few days ago. And here's a guy that's been doing for a long time and does a little bit of everything and has magic. You look at olympia. Rodriguez three and billie eilish one like you said there. I mean really really changing everything. Like by i if i had to like go up by to say someone now who dance your question. I have the ability because lego. She makes those records. You just make those records. There's no nope yeltsin Her and her bro. And that's like the way it is. Does he thin in a simple format. Yeah simple way it really. It's it's modern. It's kind of modern music in the purest possible. And i think that when you do that. That's kind of like the essence of right. Now you know yeah absolutely. All right. adam levine with Before we go. Let's talk about what they're doing. So this is the american express unstaged twenty twenty one global virtual performance. It's tuesday we have tickets to give to you. They're available at maroon. Amex was awesome and they just like let us do our thing and gave us a lot of control over and stuff. That was fantastic. And i got together with sophie muller again who sophie directed. She's a legend. She's like a video directing legend maniac Some of the best videos ever she did and also some of our. I think our first video to video so this love. She directed she'll be left. She directed We got her to shoot it. We did a couple of videos with her including beautiful mistakes actually And she directed this thing may just i want her to shoot it because her visual aesthetic so beautiful and i'm so happy with how it turned out It was kind of a bit of an experiment because we played a live concert so we just played our songs written. But don't know people which is bizarre weird. Yeah and it was. I wanted to give. There's so much happening. Now there's so much stimulation. And i just wanted to build a really beautiful cool set playoff songs. It was very similar to the way we approach the super bowl. That was like there's a lot of fanfare and a lot of stuff in a lot of glitz and glam. And i think that we take pride in the fact that we're just a bunch of guys play music and that to me was an important thing to once again kind of reinstatement. So it's just us kicking ass and being abandoned being really loud. it's also do we. Do we see that maroon. Five dot live dash now dot com That's what they told you. "Like i'm twenty five years ago. If immensely all heard the south got something to say from andre thousand nine hundred ninety five source awards inky on and i were both contributors to npr southern hip hop project so to conceptualize megan's historic rise in ascension. No-one in hip hop would've thought that in nineteen ninety-five. The hottest rapper in the world is from houston texas right. I think the reason why she will be forever. Loved in the south is that she was able to. I wanna say defeat. Be the originators of hip hop at their own game because for a long time the south was not recognized nor honor in the hip hop lexicon were anthology and at this current moment. Npr national public radio. The new york times. Harper's bazaar w magazine all of these nodal publications that very much did not accept hip hop in its early beginnings and especially not southern hip hop whenever our region kind of ascended to mainstream. And right now. We have this woman who inspired so many young girls from texas to be themselves so just to kind of cloth on that savage remix of beyond fate. I know it is over. Said that is the passing of a torch. But i think there is that shared sister in that kinship. Right as we see in beyonce's latest interview with british folk that she is taking the time to be a mother. She has given her whole entire life to pop culture in music in this kind of tudela says mentorship of meghan at think. We're seeing that. She is trying to figure out what her her legacy in her. Lineage is going to be at such a young age and that allows us critics. I think journalists to offer valid critiques. Because we do love her and inherently see her and want to grow. And i think this is something that could be said with kiana as you know black people from texas or the first ones to really love and embrace her invite for her to be covered in national publications. So it's such a full circle moment to witness her to critique her and offer her feedback for her rise because we've only seen the beginnings of megan thee stallion and i'm really excited to finally hear meghan. Pete went day. Nice thank you so much. Do you want to shell out a couple of links to coverage at npr music. Taylor mentioned the south. Got something to say this amazing southern hip hop playlist the both taylor kiana contributed to it is fantastic. I could not recommend it more highly. Also we did a megan thee stallion tiny desk concert as part of the tiny desk fest in which she brought so much absolutely awesome star power. I got to stand in the crowd and gawk at intensity and power and majesty of that performance. I really really highly recommend both of those what we want to know what you think about. "Welcome back joining me from her home. In san antonio texas we have writer kiana fitzgerald. Hey steven it's great to have you also here. Joining us from dallas. Texas is cultural critic and writer taylor crompton. Al it's great to have you here so good. News is officially billed as megan thee. Stallion's debut album but it follows several years full of ep singles and mix tapes. The rapper came up in houston and has showcased several sides persona even adopting alter egos like tina snow and hot girl meg and in two thousand nineteen. She presided over what was called hot girl summer. A season of celebration. That marked meg's passage into superstardom and doesn't hot girl. Summer seem so long ago. Yana you wrote a cover story. Megan thee stallion for paper during hot girl summer last year. What do you think of good news. Well i think she's a long way from that era. Fever was her. Debut of hot girl meg. That was her carefree. Like won't take shit attitude. Was her her. Really stepping into her own fulfillment and i think good news is a progression. But i think that she's trying to figure out what she wants to be as a pop star. I think that there are some elements. Here that are still like reminiscent of fever of tina snow of sugar. I think there are some places where she tries to go in a different direction. But overall i think that she's still spitting she still writing really really tight rhymes. But i'm still sitting with it. Obviously and i'm trying to figure out how this is going to stand the test of time as opposed to fever. Fever for me was very very fun. I lived with it. I loved it and it represented like hot girl summer. It was truly a moment in time. And i feel like this project may not live as long as fever. But time will tell tiller crompton you also wrote a great piece about megan. Thee stallion For harper's bazaar will put links to both of those articles in our newsletter. But i highly highly recommend both of them. Taylor give your thoughts on good news. Yeah i think. I was one of the multiple people who stayed up until its official release and as i was processing in real time. It made me reminisce. On megan's early beginnings her youtube freestyles which really solidified her fan base on social media. Just as you said she already had a fiscal fan base in texas and across the southern united states but after the billboard success of hawker summer followed by the tiktok success of savage. I think right now what we are. Witnessing in good news is her kind of calculating that that override worldwide success and making her debut as a pop star on this album. There are so many singles that i can already see be mentioned on instagram captions. In tiktok dance challenges in this catapulted with the release of her g. q. Cover for rapper. The year i think this album is a testament to her overall star powered what she needs to be impact culture but it is a distinct difference than her her earlier. Works been fever in sugar. And i'm trying to process if that distinction is due to the overwhelming success that she's had in recent years in how those singles have been. You know popularizing charted compared to more of the deep cuts on the albums. Which i enjoy. So i think we're seeing megan thee stallion the pop star. But i'm still trying to figure out when we are going to hear megan pete. I think that's the album. I'm really looking forward to is the one that's going to be released with q tip in twenty twenty one. Yeah it's fascinating to listen to her progression over the years. And i remember pulling tracks on soundcloud in late twenty eighteen and like i was putting together a playlist and i was like well. I probably shouldn't pull anything too explicit. I couldn't find a twenty second excerpt from any one of her songs that i could have played. And then you listen to this record it still blunt. it's still sexually explicit. It's still filthy in spots. But it is definitely. I think that side of her does feel dialed back. And it does feel more like a pop star record and as a popstar record. It's very overstuffed like seventeen tracks. It's got savagery mixed with fiance. It's got these features from young thug and ciza debate and just like big name after big name. It feels very much like a big big swing like four world domination. Yes absolutely and i do wanna kind of just like backtrack and set the scene of me listening to this project for the first time i kind of timed it out with my sister that we would be in the car at eleven. Pm central like be able to hit the road and listen to this full project and she doesn't know this. But i recorded my sis reaction. Just because i was like i know this is going to be a moment. And she was screaming like she was really really feeling it. And i think that really sets like a foundation of understanding like this project will mean something to different people like. What's new is my favorite song. I think it's super fun. I think it's Her new cash it even though she has a song with the baby on this project which was her previous collaboration. But i think like this is her talking like her mass. Like saying what she's gonna do and when she's gonna do it. Let's hear clip of that discount. Pictures through my. Y'all no i'm gonna put them in a booth a better title angi back with me kept pulling me. I'm a quick these. Yeah that line where she says all of these host my sheep. Mary had a little lamb. They was talking about me. I was like oh yeah. They're definitely elements of this project. That like screamed out at me and jumped out and just like grabbed onto my heart. I don't know they're like there are some moments where i feel like. She's just doing what she wants to do for herself. And i respect that. I wanted to talk about the song shots fired. I had this reaction going to this record like well you know. I don't know if she's going to address this this shooting from over the summer where she was shot in both feet. The repertory lanes was arrested in relation to that. And like is she even going to touch on it. Very first track record is called shots fired and it is very very blunt and pretty specific and man if you are ever going to cross megan thee stallion i highly recommend not being five foot three baseball given a puppy villeurbanne. Name me josh. How much you want piss. Believe you wouldn't have been saying you won't excited. What did you guys think of that song. Well i mean like i said we were in the car and we were just kind of sitting there ready to hit the road and my sister and i heard the first couple of bars and our jaws dropped. We looked at each other like. Oh she's doing it. she's going there. I think that it's very bold of her to flip a biggie and not only that to directly address exactly the situation that she kind of danced around for a while and eventually came forward and said. Hey this is what happened like in so many words. Please believe me. I'm the victim here. I think with the song she kind of flipped it on. Its head and said yeah. I was a person involved in this situation. But i'm not a victim i'm taking voice back. I'm taking the situation. And i'm controlling the narrative to or you wrote in harper's bazaar about the relation of megan thee stallion to the the phenomenon of misogyny warr the treatment of women in music. And kind of to this shooting. What did you think of shots fired.

Wasn't it right right in the living room i got. You can't see this unless you're watching the video. But she sitting with the background of good news stories behind her. These are all good news stories. I hope they're good news. They should be right is is as everything about me is good news it is. She's bringing the good. We need the good news. But i want it. We just played savage there. But i want to hear more about how this came together in the midst of one of the most challenging times of our lives for sure so savage was already going crazy and it was already smash. I'm in the living room. I'm probably in the kitchen cosette In a lot of time in the kitchen that in a second team kaufman. They're like the onset. Get on the roommates. I'm like what like just going to be all say the same like yeah. I'm like shut shutout. Whatever the nickname my manager comes in he's like you need to go record a new burst of a savage. Buddy wanna tell anybody until it was like for sure. So i didn't even call my grandma. We've heard yeah. Yeah you don't wanna get excited before cry. But then so i was reading when you talk about back doing mix tapes back when that was like flirting or dating with your fans and now the album is like marriage. Tell me more about that. So my my mic sites in my. Ap's like those would just need to know everybody. You're not gonna make a big commitment like we're dating. And i never wanted to call anything album because i'm like i'm not ready to be near yet. This is this is a big commitment like saying that the album means that this is something i'm thinking. They're not like all my music seriously. But like my baby. But what changed. What's switch was at the beyond. Say what was the switch. The change in your mind and say i'm getting married Love it so yeah. I definitely felt like everything. That's going on in the world right now. Everything that i've been through. I just felt like okay. This is the time for me to actually get committed and of course savage the abbas called good news which you should comes out on friday from megan thee stallion meghan. What was the best news that you heard this year. Forget you and your album everything. Did you hear a lot of good news stories. Because i feel like every time. I turn on the news it was bad news. So that's why when its name mild and good news it literally. You cannot on social media you cannot turn all bad something bad something dark. You know what the world needs some good news to complain and when you when back when we were allowed to go to restaurants and things like that on a regular. Did you make your reservation under meghan stallion. Everybody's name on martine so it doesn't matter like she's rolling. Now you mentioned you spent time in the kitchen during quarantine and neck food food is. The is what i live for so i started thinking. Is there a signature thing that you did in your kitchen or signature. Dish that you have that. I should know about now. We were cooking all kinds of stuff in the kitchen under pointing. Just coming up with. I was looking on instagram. A few people make banana bread thing. So i was cooking anything. We're wrapping honey buns and turkey bacon and all kinds of stuff like how we coming up with these mac. We're eating everything in the refrigerator. That was one of the an actually thought of what i wanna do for. The new year actually want master instead of taking a cooking class. I wanna learn three dishes like an expert. Like i'm gonna find a cooking class teacher and say okay. I want to learn this. And i want to practice at one hundred times and get it perfect and then this and this and those goes all the time if we can ever entertain again you know. I know how to cook. Salmon really will nachos we would you. You mentioned two of my favorite things to make nachos. I like to make on a cookie sheet flat. I turn the broiler on at the last part to bubble. The cheese upset almost brown cheese and on the salmon. What you should try this or at or find it. A cedar piece of wood cedar plank piece of wood and put the salmon on there. And you cook it in the oven or the guerrilla wherever and the flavor is incredible that goes into the salmon so just cedar plank salmon. Look it up after this and you're gonna to have the most amazing salmon dish. I'm telling you like. I'm literally plank. San nagin beast and you can thank me later. I'm gonna. I'm so happy to see you. "Think globally let me be very very clear. Zion is the truth and a half no question and he's box office because of the hype and because of his ability and his ability to dunk the basketball but because of the way the game has evolved combined with the expansion of the NBA brand. Don-shik is white. He can speak English and he can ball that combination and as a foreigner the combination of those poor element to me makes him lodger sometime. Say who's who who's the biggest star in the history of sports who's the biggest the history sports and the history of sport period worldwide right now Georgia's Mohammed Ali. Right both African Americans. That does not is not a whether or not it's an impediment to worldwide fame. It certainly doesn't eliminate anyone from consideration. Why does basketball player would be ahead of Jordan? And what white box would be ahead of. Mamata Larry Bird was the best player in the NBA. One three people but the point is he didn't really sell sneakers right by the way neither did magic really Jordan soul sneakers the differences. They weren't high flying acrobatic above the rim. Oh my God. Did you see that kind of players? Bigs don't sell sneakers and those and that bird magic kind of guy does but you know who sells sneakers. You know who really blows up Michael Jordan? Lebron James Kobe Bryant now Zion's to eighty but he plays in above the rim type of game that kids are going to want to be identified with. It's not a big plotting like shack themselves. Nba is not going to sell. It doesn't matter if you have a big personality for the best player in the game do you. The kind of electrifying athletic game. That people want to be part of them if they buy your shoes that Cihan Williamson. Oh and by the way. He's a winning player. And He's already high level all star rookie. Nineteen years old though. This is a terrific question. It is a great contrast. Because you have a guy in Zion who's powerful in is going to be playing the room and doing things that when you watch basketball is going to be. I wish I could do like he does. But Zion is gonNA give us that Steph curry affect so many people see him play and be like well. He's not necessarily the fastest. He doesn't seem like Luca Lucas going to give us. What steph curry gave us a lot of ways because it you see him? It'd be like I could do that. Relatable I hate to say this match you know the all all of the hyphen the stats at some point. We're GONNA only judge them how much they went for this year. Lucas GonNa be all star in all NBA and in a playoff. Zion wasn't available. Unfortunately for him because he was hurt didn't make all star we'll all NBA won't win rookie of the year. So you're GONNA be Luca correct but what about going forward. I gotTA use your most important point against you. You said bigs don't do what sell sneakers boone. That's why I can't be. I don't think Zion Zion doesn't play. He plays powerful but he plays a High Brigade Mike. He's up and down the floor. He's scoring and transom. So we just going to sit here and ignore the fact that I said he's white. You'RE GONNA have both actor all you write about that but what I'm saying is we just GonNa notify that. He's why good looking dude who the foreign but speaks English and we just ignored a fact. Let me know he's a white dude right just like we all we all to say. We just don't ignore the comfort of knowing that at all my brother. Thanks for listening to the PODCAST. I Dig Weekdays. Ten Am eastern on. Espn have a fabulous day. We'll see you tomorrow..

How do you feel about after hip hop nowadays current state? We've seen it for twenty plus years. And how do you feel better now. May I feel about a man in the hip hop world role is still in competition. Every great movie wouldn't be good if you you didn't have ups and downs. You know what I'm saying so I learn from the mistakes and I'll put it out in the music and Griffin is is one of them albums gone WAC- The whole city up is GonNa always talking about outstanding like I have a track on their car black hearted it's about it's about a mother losing her husband and her in her son to APD eighty shootings you elicit hosts on man Rezone Arabia. especially this is really wrote. Somebody cares if you if you don't like the music and Meghan this is making law. He'll put out what I'm back in ninety eight. Go ahead and listen to that May J. blodget logic celebrated twenty fifth anniversary of my life but Musical opinion look granted. You know you don't have to like lot of stuff you don't personally. Oh my God I don't care is much Mike Skills about your sexual whatever Bragg Bragg Bragg that is wrapped to me the origins of hip hop emcees bragging about whatever they got going on so for anybody to say that making just talk too much about sixty biology. Don't tell me that you like music nowadays. Just tell me your listen. Nothing else. People are saying well you know what I'm just laying. I don't listen to a lot of stuff. They lie look may look like penalties from the game from the gain I get did I get it like freshman. We call we ride together. Mortar liked him. Well listen to stuff that we've been listening to before he met each other. That's fine that's fine but because of him on radio and DJ we consume a lot of new music for you to tell us that the news nowadays. It's no good. You're lying to yourself and your stupid confidential. I'm getting a real faint spell of deja Vu man. Let me and I just last week. I love say I got a real oiling in Asia. Man Don't want me to a series of why the hell up about getting good because I can clearly do it especially in this city. I'm sorry yellow washed up. "Week. Betray really no I mean this week I was ready. So everybody's favorite time of the year happened this Wednesday grammy nominations. She's war announced bits on Melania and unseasoned. I'm being sarcastic so grammy. Nominations came came out on Wednesday. I just happened to be to see the livestream. This is my thing before I really get into my own personal opinion hip hop speaking everybody hip hop whether you're black white Brown Puerto Rican Asian and if you get their reference. You're really I do hip hop. Why do we continue to be upset? Upset about the grammys every single year. Monsieur I kinda thought. They did a good job last year. I thought they did a good job a yet. y'All find a reason every single year to be mad at the grammys and then come with the same excuse every the grammy's and no valid. We don't need to grammy validation and it every year. y'All get Matt on the Grammy Nominations. Come at you'll be glued to your phone screen and computer screens looking looking at those grammy nomination. So obviously you care what the grammy has to say to some extent so with that being said a lot of people seem to be upset the Megan the stallion and the baby. Why don't they nominated for best new artist? They standing nominations. She got none which I'm shocked talking. She didn't get any but my own personal opinion isn't about why she didn't get any nominations. My unpopular opinion tonight is not for the baby. It's not about the baby. He got his grammy nods. My is more geared toward Meghan. The stallion everybody hollering. She was snubbed for not being nominated in best new artist. I don't think Meghan stallion needed to be grammy nominated for best new artists looking at the category of Rosalia. Billy Irish little nausea six black boomers and Liz. Oh I don't think she needed. I don't think the years she had with great make make undoubtedly had a great year and she had a breakout year for her. But planes. Devil playing devil's advocate. If I'm on the Grammy Board I if I'm on the board I'm looking at it like compared to everybody else compared to Billy Irish did she have was here better than billy. Eyelashes looking at. It was better than Le's X.'s. Yes was it okay. Okay okay who for best new artist. Rosalia Rosalia Billy Irish black boom lack homeless Liz. Liz Naza Luna's aches and I think Maggie Rogers Maggie Rogers. She brought her two major. But that's neither here nor there but if I'm looking at it sitting at the Grammy Board I'm looking like yes. She had a great year. She was everywhere girl someone was even in the NBA Geico commercial. But you know what guy eight little song that was in like eight other commercials like follow the TV shows. And I think the Grammy Board kind of gauged. You that way now. Is that me saying that. She didn't deserve it not saying she didn't deserve it. But you don't always get what you deserve just because you deserve something talking doesn't mean it's going to be given to you. I think the Grammy Board. I think this is just me speculating. They looked at it and say yeah. She had a great year. She had a big year. Sure but compared to Louis who had who now who song now holds the record for longest weeks at number one year wasn't bigger than he is. Compared to Lizardo truth hurts the being number one song and she knocks is from being number one who really knocked exempt from being number one. Did she have a bigger year than these ours. Rosalita from my understanding is huge. Huge there are some people comparing her to Selena. So I'm just saying in that category Black Pumas from Austin I'm not gonNA say no Ma'am I just birds but she probably could make probably could have taken can either black or Maggie Rogers from what I never mentioned. Rogers she gets. It may be okay but I'm just saying looking Eh the field and looking at her year and then looking at the grammy boy grammy probably say she had a great year it just this wasn't groundbreaking. And we kind of already saw this with Cardi Cardi came in. We hadn't had a woman really another woman them into really look at it and rap since you know Nikki entering it and being dominant and now we have this fresh new face and she's breaking ground and and she's doing doing all these wonderful things and she's hot out here and they probably looked at me like where we just saw with. Cardi is not really that impactful. That's just that's just. That's just my speculation. y'All GonNa be mad I'll you won't mind debating it that's just my speculation and her team might right not be that chummy with the Grammy Board. Because the grammys aren't indicative of what the artists do but more so of what the label is willing to do. Or who the label people at the label known in in such and such so third. So you're never wrong. I want to give a shoutout to dear friend of the show Reno Reno. At least Alana's a manager who who will be our break live a second December second. Can't get those tickets it's GonNa be a great interview we we're all cool so I thought lining was wild and it'll be magic's Reno hit me to something that and know before you told. Let me this Cardi in Lisboa assigned to the same label Atlantic. So do I think that is coincidence. That lives Oh got the most nominated. Female rapper no the year after. Carter got the most nominations. Oh Oh the same reason why. Liz had the biggest stage next to Carter ACL. No the grammys are not culturally relevant. First stuff like fresh was saying you look Graham Say Wail Kosovo Soda Get nominated. Because they didn't win. That means that now disappointed should be. That's alive the baby is the most important rookie hip hop artist of this year. And may make my literally naked. Neko's everyone a grammy and J. Cold is one of the most important here bars for the last ten years. Look up to video. When when he lost best when he was nominated for best new artist lost and he loves Yoshi just see his reaction like his face say that all like he looked like he was there suited booting looked like he like? You know I got a good chance. Remember lemonade never won the album of the year re honest anti which is arguably her best In terms of like like conceptually album didn't win anything but like some Greta show on television city. Good Messy didn't win. Any grammys lost all grammies. The macklemore war in Ryan Lewis. WHO wherever they've been at After Graham tweeting basically but I mean Salon Jay Z.. And beyond say all made three albums all inspired I by your and other than what really nobody even had to get up on stage and say wow I wish you went out of the year for twenty four. Whatever she literally said what as we also have to do to win a year? What you have to do this? Her album eliminate inspired me to make this APP portable play into family. Got My arm just flailing Leyland. Just what are you need to do. Anything about color is about what is culturally relevant. Yeah Yeah.

I turn our views official weapon of the show is it as an unofficial for ball extreme uh-huh and get right into the pike guys got a lot of stuff a lot of news hitting the airwaves things to talk about Let's be of Love Kevin Hart and car wreck remember that well apparently him and passengers are prepping for vented right lawsuit. Oh Shit heartache heat from those injured parties in the September wine crash because it was him some pastures. They're all him in his Nineteen Seventy Plymouth Barracuda. Let's say including a driver and another passed through say heart show significant negligence for not having critical safety features like airbags bags and safety harnesses in a car. The missing safeguards questioned was standard and more modern vehicles but we're not coming back in the seventies so hard reportedly passed on them adding Lena extra bit of authenticity to the car. The auto body shop who designed hearts car may also be on the hook for allowing accustomed to go through as well report Tennessee a negligence claim could be rooted in the body shop's decision to go ahead with the job despite the car lacking modern safeguards in the powerful seven hundred twenty horsepower engine vehicles Geico. I want to have on vehicles like they're rolling around. I mean if you got money like that. Go ahead and pay for the sake of features. Yes yeah well. That's not what I was gonna say but I was GonNa say if you have money like that you probably GonNa Forfeit them not to do the safety features. It's not a matter of authenticity I want this to look like the nineteen seventies version of this car through Agassi him doing that but it does seem like it would be illegal to make that car into nineteen. Oh right right like the people who rely. I know you WANNA authentic booked no sir no sir cars back in the day with death. Perhaps it was a mini cars. Older cars has data. Don't be in but everybody net cooking died right so that was I mean Shit certain time. You didn't even need seatbelts. No you did not not so but yes I thought that was why am I explaining why they didn't explain a lot about that wreck and all that stuff because some some old older cars I see and I almost seemed like eighteen. We'll stay away from because you know newer model cars designed to crumble. I always buy damn hit me. Discount this guys totally now what was in a car with him. I mean whether it was a friend or somebody hopefully not a mistress type pain but whoever's in the car with you even if they get that many injuries like we just know his injuries 'cause he's famous but if they're also injured badly in the crash there people award coming in here and say you need to Ecorse is not just about like friendship or not. It's just like literally medical costs yeah so much how you might be dealing with this paying for the rest of your whole life. You need to go ahead and sue and just go ahead and take this now and just worry about whether you're going to be friends after come on which uh would sucks. You know it really does but that's just kind of you know how to weigh she. It works and you know you have some people that are actually actually one reason. Why a lot of people just driving home and I I don't? I don't like a lot of people in the car with me. I like to be by myself because this must look ahead. I consume myself. I only nobody else pailin lawsuits because they've been injured does make you wonder like when you see old school cars on the road like you know those rich. You'll see like a race do rocking Ode ass like you know Pontiac Associate and I'm always like so does that have to pass inspection and if it does it does same inspection as everybody else's cars.
