"Them because then unfamiliar with that space still thing makes me nervous reading poll. No i loved her last night on this on. Nisshin i of the camera is connected to park at least somehow theoretically because you know what even into the narrative is beside dear of self fulfilling prophecy that people's beliefs influence how they perceive what happens to them And there's an early reference to edgar allan poe. It's a little bit naff. But his stories focused most famously premature burial and entombment but also On this idea that we're all kind of victims of fate In a we will have a believe we have a measure of control over our lives but actually any sense of control really is illusory and really safety offered by the panic. Room turns out to be an illusion because all dazs protect them from a problem that exists because the room exists When describing the camera and the way that he shot adventure said it doesn't have any personality to it. It's very much like what's happening is doomed to happen. So we watch these characters struggle. Undetectable physical constraints from vantage point. That is totally unconstrained. We had totally free. We can go anywhere you know if we a fight and where roy moving around and having a gay old time just watching everyone suffer. I actually think like. I agree with you. Cast finches camera has of personality. It's athletic it's invasive. Sometimes it's cheeky. But i think that even though the film touches on problems like crime diabetes. Divorce all this stuff we've talked about. I think the real problem is the room because it safeguards megan sarah whilst also imprisoning them during her press to ajayi foster. I remember watching her on the project. When this film came out or something like that something similar to the project maybe it was rove out at night. It was rife mcmanus k. And i remember that she said that the message of the movie is during a panic. Room 'cause to install a panic room means that you're living with us sort of an elevated degree of paranoia and suspicion and we all suffer from confirmation bias so if we expect to be haunt and attacked we will perceive that we are being harmed and attacked even if we're not they would enable come yup exactly just on this topic of surveillance the cameras. One of my favorite scenes is when the intruders are in the house There's a scene way. Meg looks directly into the camera. Which is obviously but we know films breaking the fourth wall. And that's when she realizes that they're in the house so she sees them on the security monitors and i feel like this stylistic choice almost contrast what can be seen with the naked eye and what can be seen with technology and that's going to appear throughout the rest of the film in what it does for the character is it brings her knowledge having now seen the intruders into line with the audience's knowledge. Because we've been showing that extended sequence earlier. And i think that is one of the best uses of the technology that finch has at his disposal in this entire film in that moment where jodi foster looks into the camera. Way own. Have that flicker feeling of what would i do yet. It creates a lot of empathy in the audience away where she is really well the bouncing bowl. I think it easy what she says. What do we think the special effects shots in the movie. I'm talking specifically about things. Like moving through the banisters of the staircase moving through the handle of the kettle. I think just about a steady. Is it just about the look and feel of the film for me. When i think about pasta you describe they are what type of film from being a typical popcorn movie potentially more forgettable one to being an elevated one. That that's what i remember in my mind that makes panic room standout as visually exciting interesting and just a joy to watch. I think those shots at pretty thrilling and our member when they when the film came out we hadn't really seen computer generated effects used to create relationships between different spaces and areas in that sort of way and the cameras sort of roads and flies about. And so you know one. One of the most sensual things about film is when this movement and motion of that camera. The film is very serious and very dowa. I mean. I know it has jokes in it but really the nasty pots are pretty nasty and it certainly grim looking. The camera feels almost joyful. Like i've called it sadistic. But but i mean there is joy sadism. That's let's say is is really. It's taking joint pain. It's not unlike being on a ride or choosing to go on a ride. That's going to completely freak.

"Rachel and rachel has a voicemail for us about swears. Megan sarah my name is rachel. And i m mom to a six year old daughter and four year old son. My question is about how you handle the quote unquote bad language in your households I know you both previously stated that you do enjoy a well-placed swear i'm right there with you. I just wonder what kind of rules you haven't placed for your children. My kids were both virtual learning for about nine months and now that they're back in person school. Sometimes i do wonder if some of our looser limits might come back to haunt us would love to hear how you navigate different language and your family and what rules you have in place for the different ages and stages thank you okay so i think this is such an interesting question because of five kids i mean i swear i swear on my kids i try to keep it in check and i've tried to actually get better because i i did realize for a little while not when i was talking to them but like when they were in the other room and i was talking to adults i was just letting any word fly and not okay i ate. There are certain things. I don't even want to hear them say that aren't even bad words. Just like there's certain phrases coming out of little kids mouth. That just sound very harsh to me and i thought i'm just going to try to like clean my language around but for the most part it's been kind of a language free for all and that said i don't feel like my kids have sworn before the right age for swearing which is like around. They start experimenting in their teen years. I still have to kind of remind them. I don't like i don't wanna hear it like if they're on a video game and they play video games. They're like three kids on computers around the table. And they're all yell talking. All the boys are like yellow talking to each other. And if we'll just comes out with like an f-bomb. I don't wanna hear that and he's seventeen. I know that at that age. I was swearing and like but but learning how to swear as an adult and lake. When it's the right time where. And i will call him out. I will call his friends out But really for the most part. They've all been pretty good about not doing it around their grandma or their mom or like random adults. I do have this very clear. Memory of owen asking me if he could say a bad word and then whispering in my ear when he was. I don't know maybe ten or eleven. And then he felt so terrible afterward like he was so mortified that he he wasn't sure it made him feel any better. I think it was one of those like where it was building up and he just had to say it. Do you remember what it was. It was the f. word okay. Sometimes they think it's a bad word in it. You know when they were really right we have a really little lots of that kind of thing and that was funny but this was he knew. This was a bad word. He was old enough and he just sat on it and shoot on it and couldn't let go and finally whispered in my ear. And then i just think he felt so bad afterward. I don't think he swore again to like. I dunno pretty recently. So i guess in my house. We don't have rules and i just think that's really interesting because i don't know that that's universal it. Just the way it's played out they know swearing something people do adults do it..

"Just search for it on the I heart radio active in God, much like you and I would their God can be the environment or it could be A concept like gay or whatever, but the reason for no God on the left is with no God. There's no morality and there's no right or wrong and anybody else gets to proclaim. And that's the great source for me of societal dysfunction. Uh, it may sound silly, but you know, the one of the primary Fuel for religion is eternal life that this is there's more to this than just this. There's more to all of this, that there's more to this than Earth and and nobody will ever have any proof for it. It's faith. Trust in God, Everybody comes up with their own ways, plus their religious teachings to try to believe it have faith in it. But then you're faced with people think it's all bunk, and there was one of disregard all of it, and they want to laugh at make fun of and in Pune, people who have such beliefs. And with it, they take away morality. They take away the concepts of universal, right and wrong and you talked about truth. They even obliterate that and then they get to replace it with whatever they want. Whatever advances, whatever they care about. And at the same time ridiculing and laughing at people who don't believe in the process. Um the entire foundation of culture and society is Whittled away. I have the same fear you do. Same theory, and I've had it for much longer than you because I'm a little older than you are sure. Gets risky when you talk about truth because who gets to define truth? Well, I know our founders. They all believed in God and the Bible and they maybe didn't believe existed. I would not let me say if you you confront you can find the right leftist and he'll tell, you know that's a myth. The Founding fathers were a budget atheists, and they didn't believe in God, and they didn't care about And so this is taught. You know, your your version of truth is going to be countered by somebody else's version of truth. And then the definition of truth becomes Something over which people argue just like facts and become what's what's needed is massive educational exposure to things where people have much more information and input to be able to make up their own minds. That's what the left fears people making up their own minds. People left to their own devices are not going to choose what liberalism forces on people. Rush is absolutely right about that. Every Society needs a transcendent meaning to life. Otherwise, you just circling around in a hyper present tense, that is that is by definition shallow. Why? Why do men plant trees that they will not live to see? Grow to their glory? Why? In medieval Europe did people start to build The most beautiful buildings, the most beautiful cathedrals to the glory of God, knowing that they would never live to see those buildings completed and to worship in those bill buildings on Russia's absolutely right there that if you cease to have faith, there's not a lot left except government. In the state on it was interesting to me through this last terrible year to hear rush reflect profoundly and honestly on his faith now by means of contrasts, and to demonstrate the range. This was always a feature I loved on the Russia his list off his 10 most favorite Ladies names that he used to say from time to time. And here is a caller taking rush to task over those top 10. Ladies names Don't wanna grab Jeff in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Welcome, sir. Great to have you on the program. Rush. Thanks for taking my call. Yeah, your best. Um I was calling which regards to your top 10 female names. Oh, yeah, well, I have got a lot more than 10. Those wonder if I could run through it with you real fast. What you claiming that I have more than 10? Yes. Top 10 favorite female names. Yeah. So I have. Jenny Melanie, Jeanette Megan. Sarah now you could have, said Sharon. But Allison Amy Morgan. Jennifer, Jenna Tanisha, Jill Jane, Nina Marcia. Kalen Laurie. Cheryl. In Chan, CIA. Ashley, Natalie, Isabella Lauren, Misty, Alexis and Lissa. All I can tell you is that when I when I mentioned each one of those names, it was in a list of 10 at the time, Okay? But I was wondering why Laura wasn't on there. Who? Laura wasn't on there. I don't know They've ever had a call from somebody named Laura. No. Okay, because it's a good name. And it's ah, you know, great Johnny Mercer Song as well. Uh, yeah, it is a great have a lot of lot of women with a classic women have the name Laura. I mean it Z tough having a top 10 list of favorite female names. That's true s. So all of this is about the fact that you think I'm discriminating against Laura. Oh, no, no, no, I just I just started noticing that there just seemed to be more than 10. So I started writing them down. Did you really did started writing them down? I have some dates if you want to date. Oh, no. I totally believe you. I'm not gonna deny this. I just some days. We're sitting here talking about legislative bills that we've thought that's good. Yeah, Long as you like, like way like having you here. Yeah, thank you. Just keep beating up on him with all your bills. Seven working here. These people bring us nothing but trouble up there. There's like I don't know five or 10 bills, Brian brains and a few other good ones. And then the rest is just a big train wreck. That was one good thing about covet. It was the least amount of legislation. 16 1911 legislative damage That's crazy. That's good. I'm just relaxing here. Edification. The Fewer bills, the better without a shadow of the better. The fear bills that I agree. Keep reinventing the wheel. They do all these crazy. We're going to start a new program. It's gonna do this and this and this. It's going to cost all this money. And we're gonna lose rights. They're gonna have all the staff like what do you and that doesn't do anything. We need to have a competition. And right now, the competition in the building is who can pass the most laws, right? And, you know, regardless of if they're good or bad, we need to have a competition. Okay? You can pass a lot, but you have to eliminate something rather than start something. Yeah, I love that. That kind of man roster. Review Bringing that one gun take to take a two hour. Yeah, Center. They misunderstood trumps logic on that when he was talking about regulations, I think so, too. It doesn't really apply to the gun roster. No, no, no, that's just like voting rights, but we won't even get into that. So what's your next one? So thank you. So that that's one. We really hate this, Uh Well, SP 7 99 They wanna to reiterate what we're talking about for new listeners that just came back to the car. Nikki Bills. Yeah, Built Sell the property. Now, the good thing about the bill. If there is a good thing is the Profit goes to the O H. B. Yeah, but they wanted the whole thing that they did about it is he wanted He doesn't want it. Now that this level he wants it at the level of 20 years ago when his dad so so we were fighting against that, too. So even though he wants the money, it Z he took for the state to sell off. Carnegie Ville Carnegie SVR right portions of Carnegie SPR ay. There. They refer to it as um, They call the test park and I don't even know how they call. It has never been a park. It was never opened for them Expansion. Yeah. So why is it refer to it that it was never gonna park it was private property, and then the state used off road money to buy it to expand the state off road area. And yet it's very frustrating. And this guy is smart. Who lives up above it. Yeah, and he is trying to get it out of Out of the peanut off road part right chaps My high too, for Carnegie, You know, maybe we should just by his house and make a nice thanks. Attendance office. And now you're talk, You know, two years ago, this build domain. This bill got all the way through Almost identical bill got all the way. Just kidding at all. What they Peter told me Say, Assembly and the Senate. This bill got all the way through and it went to Newsome. And this, um, vetoed it. It was huge for that. Kidding. Obviously, he will. Our group are lobbyists. We sent a letter in, but I think he talked to state parks his agency and he said, What do you guys think about this? He has a lot to do with this. Well, they have to manage it. It's there, you know? So they said, Hey, you know, this is a bad bill, Please, Vito, and they're not the enemy. People need to know they're not yet. Yeah, No, Absolutely. No. There is a great agent Parks is with us. They get it. They're out there. They're in the field, trying to save him Beat. The earth. Their back is against the wall right? Poor Sara Higgins, who just took over the off road vehicle, part of state meeting yesterday with Sara Higgins. I'm sorry, not you say Friday. What didn't you get to join in on the highway Motor view? Yeah, it wasn't. I wasn't. I wasn't part of the collaborative. I was doing a presentation. Did a presentation for the commission? Don't even know who I was on that call Ohb Commission. Yes, war presenting a presentation for their 50th anniversary. Okay, was on portions of that meeting. I was at work and I go in my office. I watch for a while, so I didn't get to see that part. They're going through letters that they need for for different either letters of support or letters against different actions. I know Big One was the California Coastal Commission for the Friends of Ocean on the Dunes. And I'm sorry for the public works plan and how that played out. Always be commission is writing a letter to the California Coastal Commission explaining their position. On ocean. Oh, dude, right, And they're saying that they want the park to stay open for off road vehicle use. I was very impressed with what with their letter and the other thing so and on that note and what you were saying earlier that we need to get some of the coastal commissioners down there and take a tour that would make a big difference. Absolutely, And there's a difference between the Coastal Commission. And the Coastal Commission staff. Big difference the staff they work for the Coastal commission, and there's a lot of California Coast. There's a lot of projects going on. There's a lot of stuff going on. So they have these People who are doing work, right? I bet you've been tasked with coming up with <hes> ingredients swap recipes so i think i'll start with you. What's your take on. This trend well. There's the good and the bad as with anything. I mean i think the trend of the sneaking good foods into children's foods marketed for kids is a little questionable. I mean you've got kale dino shape nuggets. We'll get some that sort of thing sort of well. Why don't you just introduce introduce kale <hes> to your child because as they grow up they're just going to be eating these processed things and if you've to sneak the food in then. I don't think you're ever creating a pallet that really understands how to eat healthily but at the same time there's some there's some good things the lentil pastas and the keene wa pastas and and things like that where food where it's incorporating more fiber and more protein i think those are great and if you're stepping away from refined carbohydrates hydrates that's a good thing to you know in those higher fibre <hes> lentil pastas and so forth and cauliflower pastas are great because you eat eat less of it because it's more filling in slower in your gut sizzler transfer so that's great but coming at it from a recipe development standpoint sandpoint. I don't know if i am looking at megan sarah and if they've ever tried some of these some of these yes there is a lot to be. I tried one on that was eddie. Mommy mung bean pasta and it tasted exactly like a co op floor sweepings so texture was awful. I did develop this recipe or you. Just try to use it in a recipe development so you really got to pick and choose your battles and and you know and they don't always work. They have various sort of flavor either. You can't make carbonaro creamy with a with a weird tasting pea protein eighteen pasta so there's lots of ways around this ways into it so you just have to be choosy customer. Yes similarly all early. I had to develop a recipe using brown rice pasta that i will not name and the texture for me was the hard part like it tasted a little bit weird. The texture was very grainy and you could never it went from being what seemed like undercooked to being overcooked in about twenty seconds so it was really hard to get it to the right texture and even when you did you were just feeling a little sad about choices at ternate ivano foods foods are really difficult to work with because they lacked some of the textural <unk> pretty's i see and all the foods that were used to <hes> and that's that's a good point sarah uh-huh if you crave something maybe it's better just to have that small piece of pizza and moderation instead of getting a cauliflower and almond crust just pizza base that you pay exorbitant amounts for and then i had the experience of making a pizza with that with like a homemade tomato sauce and really good mozzarella zarella basil from the garden and took one bite and it was exactly like that scene from big were tom hanks is trying caviar for the first time and he's you know extensively ten years years old and the film and he's just it's like chewing and spitting it out at the same time like i couldn't get the drywall out of my mouth fast enough so i think if you don't absolutely have to have if you're not doing low carb there's no real reason to eat those but i think it's great that there's alternatives on the market. I mean back back in the day. When i first started writing recipes whole wheat pasta was cardboard you might as well just be tune on the box and it is getting better so that's that's a sign for for the future where things are becoming more aware. I like your point. Though about satiate is out of the word so tired so tidy i._v..

"It's Megan, Sarah. And Eric j MAC, and this is the daily dish Bravo's official podcast. So we have a lot to go through today. Yeah. We we need to talk about real housewives of New Jersey because while Vander pump rules, and then later, we're going to talk to John Thrasher who is co host of Martinez and murder podcast. Also, our friend also a front, and he's a huge fan of real housewives of Atlanta. So he's here to help us break down that Tokyo bus ride. Oh, love a good bus ride. Plus we actually have a sneak peek at the below deck reunion. And we have an interview with real housewives of Atlanta's Tanna Sam. Yes. And as always will end things with our rose and thorn, but first you wanted to talk about something we have an emergency word on the street segment because Andy Cohen celebrated his baby shower this past weekend. And it was epic. It was insane. I mean, so many people I saw and social media being like this is my Super Bowl, you know, people were so thrilled. I don't think even we knew the caliber that it was going to be you know, like we knew it was. Happening. Kyle Richards was hosting right? Yeah. Some of the oggi's throwing it. So like great. Wonderful sounds cute and intimate. No way. It was a huge party. It was insanity. And you know what? So funny, crystal, our friend and co worker brought up a really good point, which she was said that it was giving her anxiety because you know, the president and the vice president should really never be in the same room. God forbid something happened. She was like what if something happened at all of our favorite. Bravo loves are in one room together. So true. I mean, it really was like an all star cast. I mean, all of the Gs were there Vicky need Theresa Ramona. I mean, Kyle like you had mentioned and then a lot of some of the newcomers. Eva was there from real housewives of Atlanta. We saw the Dallas ladies, I mean, it's true. Like that is the one room that you want to be in. But you also want that room to be safe. Right. I think also we were kind of trying to figure out Who Wasn't There. Right. There was a lot of investigative work going on on Twitter on. Instagram being like who's missing? And a lot of people were missing, you know, some of the kind of major players Lisa Vander pump. But she was opening her restaurant in Vegas. She's out there. Working Bethany couldn't make luanne as well. But you know, I mean everyone was sending their love from a distance. Yes. We also had some cameos from we know Andy's friends with John Mayer. We saw Jerry O'Connell and his wife Rebecca romaine there and Jenny Pula Johnny polo. She did a death drop in one video. And I wish I had seen it from a different angle because I couldn't see the whole thing. But there was a death job. So like, we said it was a huge party. I'm sure you guys have all seen everything on Instagram already. But my favorite part was Lisa Renna on the tables and Kyle Richards to be fair. Yeah. But I feel like Lisa Renna is who you want emceeing all your major life events going forward. Absolutely. I mean, I can like she's got her line on QVC. So I understand how she's already good sales person. Because she was there screaming for everyone kit on the tables, you better dance. Andy cohen. Pays your bills? You better. Celebrate him. One of those dance for. Dance. You good. I mean, if Lisa rented told me to do that. I would do that one hundred percent. I would do that regardless. I love win. Kyle who's wearing this beautiful white suit shows what it looks like at the end of the night. And it was just like covered in red wine stains. It was it looked like someone had thrown red wine on her which at a house wives event. Could very well. Be the case, but was not she just was having a party. Celebrating wind got everywhere she had like chocolate smeared on like one part of her coat too. What are?.
