Who is QB2 in 2021 NFL Draft?

"It would have been fully justified and with that we welcome you back as always live from the seaport district appear seventeen brought to you by chase. I green this get up and we have a huge our coming your wine. It starts with this. It's a quarterback sneak mc shays make board is in and wait till you see the first four picks. He's with us live to break down off the top. Then wait a minute. What did russell say. Is he talking about getting sri. Didn't from seattle the wild ride in. Nfl history continues. And then we'll tell you how the shawn watson saga plays out and what it will mean for every team in the nfl. All that and more as we get out with you when this hour which starts right now with todd mcshay post super bowl mock draft. It's available right now on espn plus all it. It's fascinating a number one. That's no big surprise. He's got trevor lawrence going number one to urban meyer and the jaguars. But here's where it gets interesting. He also has quarterbacks going to three and four at two he has the jets taking. Byu's zack wilson who has been rising up. Everybody's draft what he has been be talk of the nfl draft process so far at three overall. He's projecting trade the panthers moving up from eight to take north dakota state's train lance to be their quarterback of the future which leaves ohio states justin field sitting there. Four and mcshea has the falcons taking him fields the second highest total qbr in college football season and then jones sliding down a little bit later to make five quarterbacks in the first round in there he is the man with the mic board. It is mcshea and it's awesome. Let's start with this todd. We all understand. Trevor lawrence going number one. Nothing even to discuss. How firmly planted in. Your mind is zack. Wilson right now as the number two quarterback in this draft. I think very firmly. The first thing i do when the season is over and a govan studied the top quarterbacks. Because i know that's what we're going to talk about for the majority of this process leading up to the draft and after lawrence. There's a little bit of a gap and then at zack wilson. And then there's a gap between gods trey lance from north dakota state and justin feels from ohio state. So i think he is clearly the number two quarterback in this class. The question becomes greenie. Is that the jets taking two or the jets gonna move out and allow a team like a carolina to that number two spot to take him. And that all depends on the domino's in terms of the veteran quarterbacks right now where does shawn watson wind up carson wentz. We know is going to get moved to chicago indianapolis. I think joe douglas. The general manager is kind of waiting. And seeing some of these other quarterbacks go and he's fielding phone calls he's not aggressively making calls but fielding calls to see maybe if they can move sam darnold and if they do exactly since the pick for the jets at number two and if not as i said i think the jets will move outta to and wilson will still wind up being that number number two overall pick in this class. I grew the. I've been saying for a while. I agree with you completely. He'll be number two. The question is who winds up making the peck. Then the other part of this is. I'm old enough to remember a time when we wondered if justin fields might supplant trevor lawrence as the number one draft now all of a sudden these the fourth quarterback off the board. How did that happen. You go back. And study games against indiana northwestern. And then the college football playoff national championship game against alabama. He completed around fifty two percent of throws with five interceptions. Those games in my opinion. You look at it physically. He's big. he's sturdy strong who mobile. He's got a big arm all the traits that you look for. But he likes to see his receivers. Come open and get stuck on that. I read very frequently. So you compare him with trae. Lance and i have identical grades on the to train. Lance didn't play the level of competition. Didn't play as many games as is justin fields but i think he processes the game a little quicker in terms of going from his first into a second and third and seeing the entire field. So it won't surprise me if it feels is third quarterback off the board. But i think they're kind of bunched together in that third tier of quarterbacks behind lawrence wilson and then the other two and then i want to ask you about the guy that you currently have fifth because i'm a regular listener of the first draft podcast and so i'm listening the other day to you and field. Yates and mel kiper talking about what was going on at the senior bowl and everyone is raving about matt jones. Your buddy mel had max jones moving this thing and i believe he has him sort of. I believe he hasn't projected higher than you have in projected. What do you see for mack. Jones as this process goes on the fifth quarterback in the first round. Well i think what's going to happen. He's matt jones is going to benefit from the fact that these four quarterbacks are gonna come off the board quickly and it's probably going to be cut because of trades moving up. I have matt jones going number twelve overall right now in a i had chicago moving up to twelve in san francisco. Moving back to twenty we have to see where carson wentz go. It does go to

Trevor Lawrence Mcshea Shawn Watson Zack Wilson Jets NFL Todd Mcshay Justin Field Justin Fields North Dakota Trey Lance Carson Wentz Joe Douglas Sam Darnold Ohio Jaguars BYU Govan Espn Meyer

How To Work With - Not Against - Screen Time

"The book, you sort parents, kind of into three buckets, those that embrace technology resist technology and those that tried to find a balance. Can you talk about those three and also is resistance futile in the age of the pandemic, sure such a great question and yeah, we thought about them as like three a modes of practice three ways in which parents kind of engaged with the world and. We could hear from lots of parents the way they talk that efforts to balance, and probably that's the kind of dominant advice that parents are given always to balance. Indoor and outdoor online and offline different kinds of activities and we could. See them doing that, but we also were meeting these other parents, and we were specially intrigued by the ones who did what we called embrace technology because they were the ones who resolved the dilemma in. Should you that your kids have lots of screen time off? Should you try to restrict it? Is it? Is it the future or is it a problem? So the embraces seem to the ones that kind of resolved it by saying. Look, it's the future we need to get on with. You need to kind of find a way. And they were often the most enthusiastic and the parents and children together could kind of figure out what was exciting about it so often. They had the most kind of shared practices. And the resistors. I think we're probably quite diverse because there were all kinds of reasons why parents saw difficulties with. Technology all what they saw as the world represented. Very. Commercial or very much kind of defined by others rather than buy their own values. And probably resistance is futile, but maybe what the parents who were resisting. We're really trying to do articulate some of the other values. They didn't want to get lost as we all move forward into digital future. Interesting okay so. There's a lot to sort out there I guess I'm curious to hear more from your research. Awesome, maybe from your experience at Lucia about. What does it mean to really be a happy tech parent to embrace and maybe? The the happy Geek Parent, but some examples of that what one thing that I would say I personally learned from the parents who did kind of lean into embrace in technology is that they found a way to kind of live out their values as a family through technology, so if they were an already family? Yes, they would do paper, mcshea and coloring, but they also you know found Monument Valley this beautiful APP and play with their kids and they. Would you know watch? Watch like you know movies that felt like that. They were consistent with how the parents I'm kind of wanted to live and what they wanted to talk to their kids about, and obviously yes, the kids had their own preferences to, but the parents were very active and kind of shaping that, and certainly as the parent of a seven year old twins, living through a pandemic and working a fulltime job I would say find a lot to be inspired by by those parents because. Actually a need to rely on technology right? There's no. There's really no way of having to fulltime parents and. Kids who are at home all the time and knots you know using some form of kind of digital based entertainment and education, but what I learned from talking with a lot of parents who seemed more, confident and more calm in their embrace. was that I ha- can play such an active role in figuring out what it is that I. Want my kids to spend time with. I love that. You're using the word calm because I feel like so many parents need that right now and. We all kind of. Are Using Technology in the way that you're describing especially now to get time for ourselves, but it comes with this burden of guilt and anxiety, and what you're describing is just a much more thoughtful process. Right of thinking about well. What kind of screen time would I feel good about my kids having and doing and sharing that with your kids right

"How about sneaking him boats time which school? He asked owns the record for the most first round picks a single draft. I'm gonna say Miami. But I read her Joe, what was guest this, right? For accuracy suited. Dominique and I would have thought maybe USC too. But anyway, just give me some credit. All right. How about a little sneaky big news? I know it's made. But we're going to talk college football for reasons that are very important, and we're gonna get to that right now yesterday Todd mcshay releases twenty twenty mock draft features three Bama players in the top ten and seven overall in the first round. Now mcshea has the dolphins drafting quarterback to a ton of low of first overall he finished stuck and of course, the Heisman voting last year dealt with some injuries through the end of the season. And he has to is top target wide receiver. Jerry Judy going second to the cardinals. That'd be quite a weapon for Kyle Murray. Alabama would be the first team since hint state in two thousand produce each of the top to fix with the ten pick. The bills are taking Bama player who didn't even play last year. According to mcshea defensive in terror Lewis missing last season with a torn ACL mcshea also has four Banda players projected in the first round. Outside of the ones. I just mentioned offensive tackle recon Davis wide receiver Henry rubs off Lyman, Alex Leatherwood and cornerback Trevan digs. And when you think about this and why we are talking about this right now. Like, I said in may because these are some things that you should know ahead of the college football season that Alabama will be better greenie than they even were last year. This is Nick saban's best offense that he's had in his entire time coaching, it truly is you look at the weapons I mentioned Jerry Judy Henry rugs you've got Nause Harris at the running back spot. And I think the key there is that. Yes, they can do the ground and pound that they liked to do running the football. But with Steve's Qijin coming in as the offensive coordinator coming back in really, an obviously his experience from the NFL side there going to sling in around they're going to throw it in. And you look at the spring game Nick Sabin. I cover the game. He was upset because they had some drop passes. That's because he wants to show teams that they're going to be able to throw it all over the field. He's got weapons galore. And on the defensive side yet, they've got some full. To fill it. But this offense is going to be dining, maybe essentially what you mean by sling. It is this going to be the big twelve all of a sudden, you think you will see some elements of big twelve high flying offense..

"Defense can be dominant. When they have a guy like this in the interior line of scrimmage, and look we didn't know who Guinn Williams worth I covered the SEC network. And we had no idea he would turn out to be the best defensive lineman in college football from interior. But what he does. So we slippery. He's done. Get your hands on him. And he doesn't stick to you can push the pocket from the inside which is paramount in fell right now. And listen he was in our studio last week. He has to spend ten seconds around love him. Also, a love having him in the building. But as far as all the deal lineman in the strength. I know there's one you like the best, and it isn't who you expect. It Oliver co I'm telling you man, look there there is there is a -bility you have to have when you go to the next level that that offends you pass people and what he has is explosive nece athleticism and ability to track the ball. Right. And we look at Aaron Donald and everybody talks about how great international is Aaron Donald runs downs. Running backs on top on toss. Weeks, and you can turn on a lot of taper bed all of doing the same thing. He's a tremendous player with its gross. And he he played it. Houston didn't seem to dominate this past year. Where we expected them to Dominique is a reason for that. Yeah. I mean, it's possible. He was looking forward to his career in NFL athleticism that he thought about real see Warren sat that might be a bit of a wreath, but I've seen that type of explosive athleticism when I see this guy. But I'm not sure that I think that he's the best Graham. I'd look at a guy like Josh Allen myself, Josh Allen, obviously more of the traditional edge rusher. But we reached a point right now. With the way, the NFL is cyclical you've talked about into your linebackers. We're having a guy who's going to rush the passer up the middle might be more valuable than a guy. And that's why you have to appreciate the guys that before you Aaron Donald brought a lot about you indomitable. Sue brought a lot of value Warren Sapp guys that you Mitch I'll book it being able to get to the quarterback from the interior and NFL is one thing that you have it. You have a chance to be a great defense. If you don't you go get gassed and one other thought going. To our previous conversation with the bosses be the second ever family to have a dad and two sons go in the first round, the others, Archie, alike and pay out. It all comes back to the main. What's that a lot to be the number one pick tonight? Tot mcshea will join us off the top of the next hour with that answer. Stapling? It's on ESPN. Keep off the bye. Because you're mine. "Careers now how much does that experience matter? We'll consider this in the last fifteen years only four quarterbacks have gone in the first round win less than twenty starts in college. Cam Newton was among them. He went on to be the MVP, but the jury is still out on Mitchell Trubisky while Mark Sanchez and Ryan tannehill considerably at least a lot of people consider them underachievers teddy. Let's talk about the job you've done it. He made the jump as a collegiate player to the NFL. How big how steep is that curve? It depends. If it was consistent to what you're doing. I mean these quarterbacks you'll see you see them on the board. Sometimes a lot of these quarterbacks will get into a system where they've been in a system where they haven't even been under center. So getting the quarterback center exchange three five seven steps drops. They have to learn things that they haven't done before on a regular basis that they'll have to do they have to transform themselves as players. I mean myself I mean changing position some players have to change positions. Like, I did all I did at the university of Arizona. Played defensive end. All I knew to do was rush the passer rush the pass and play the tight in. When I got my first linebacker meeting room, and they asked me about pass Trask which pass drop concepts. I had no clue hope trap talking about coach. When do I rest the path? Out there. Six months. It is I opening it is difficult. It is some things that a lot of these rookies that's going to be a shock to the system when they know the detail that has to go into their craft moving fast. It's not like it slowing down ten speeds up and hurry, no at the quarterback position. The obviously the speed of the game at all positions going to increase but at the quarterback position like you talked about taking the quarterback center exchange, these kinds don't even huddle. All running spread offense. They're looking over the sideline with card with death. Duck on it is the play call. So they have to get to get in the holiday spilt verbiage. I saw that firsthand this year at the senior bowl with those three quarterbacks. We just showed in that piece into to see them. It's one thing to sit in a room and do it and to get in huddle in look at guys in the stuff out and getting I mean, it's tough. So that's a big adjustment. Just just that's a big just and they're trying to adjust time where there's more impatience and more of a call for them to start sooner than ever before. Because there's so much attention on these guys for the Danish that we're living in social media and it become stars. And it just right away. The fans wanna see these guys even if they're not ready. They wanna seem thrown in there. And they get thrown in there. Oftentimes before they're ready Endo's. Joe? I mean, you know, that you'd have to quarterback in the first round mcshea said you're almost guaranteed at some point if he's in if not the first month. Well, a lot is changed twins. Aaron Rodgers was waiting behind, you know, Brett Farr. And then I think that year particular two thousand twelve where Andrew luck and RG three and all those quarterbacks able to do so much their first year, the expectation has grown since they were able to do that. And then now you're talking about social media and the impatience that has grown with that as well. But it's not just what you were saying even just on the offense of side and everything that you have to do in terms of the huddle and spitting out the place. But it's the diagnosis of the other side of the ball in the talent being that much more coming at you. It's not the pro day where no one's in front of you or the combine where you're just in your underwear von Miller Aaron Donald chopping down in your face as well. So there's just so much more with that to think coach is now, the smart coaches, okay? Now you yet your hands on quarterback? And you'll know what he was comfortable with and running in college and saying, okay. What do I what do I run? And how do I make this familiar to him to where listen I can say to you know, that players Mississippi State when you converted that third and fifteen what was it called?.

"I I wouldn't have happened in the past under bear Bryant you right about that. And I don't understand. We're in Rodney Harrison what he get drafted at. Anyway, I think he went third round. Right now. I mean, he went out other right, obviously. Yeah. I know if they'd have stayed around another year. What do you think is best as would have been? I'm not a draft expert, and he probably would have made more money. But you know, careers are short. He's he he wanted to go out. And or I mean, by the way, he he's he I think he was the wrong person to use as an example. I I mean, there's a million guys as you know, who who come out and don't even play. That's right. And that's what that's all saving was trying to say when congress and everything I mean, he's just like it is given backs and everything I mean, you know, so why is it coming out? And and and Siam at you know, whatever he's saying, I I mean, I mean, Nick, saving, whatever I mean, he this was just a thing. He wanted to say it turned out to be a big story. Because usually with Nick save and says is a big story. And besides we really haven't heard much from saving in the last six weeks. The most interesting thing I heard today was from who did I hear it from the I'm drawing a blank on where I heard this. But. The draft expert for USPS who's the guy who's the other guy. Mcshea? Sorry taught forgot your name mcshea was on his show this morning and said that when he was at the senior bowl Savin walk over to him and began costing him blaming him for forgiving all this information out when all mcshea does is simply disseminate information that he's gleaned from co from coaches from from scouts, and he said he did it in front of about twenty five or thirty people including GM's and head coaches, and he said, it was really kind of a awkward that saving just just lit into him. But that's the way Nick Sabin works. I I don't think Sabin was doing anything other than trying to send a message or we're trying to to Vanessa message. And then and apparently he's been on this kick for a number of weeks. Charlie is in Kentucky, Charlie go, right ahead. Hey, Paul first time giving you a call. Thank you. And I'm from Kentucky named Charlie hunter. And from you gave you a little background on myself. I played back in the sixties flora, Abe lemons at Oklahoma. What a what a colorful character. He was. Yeah. He was great coach and wasn't around coach. And we also met met Texas western NCWA final LL not to files, but they beat us. So we surely were you at Oklahoma City. Yes. I was it Oklahoma City now. Now, Abe went to Texas eventually, but I I saw game when I was a kid Oklahoma City played Memphis, and I'll never forget Abe lemons way, I mean, he he he was the greatest show I've ever seen in basketball. Well, I know I think he he got reputation, you know, quite a bit around the nation. You know, a lot of people thought he's very called until a lot of good jokes. No, he I. I know people. I mean, they're still quoting him in Austin. Yeah. That's that's a great story. I'm really glad you you share it. So what are you there? Charlie. I was there from sixty two to sixty six. Okay. So you saw some good times. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Not a fact we and another friend of mine out of the name of teammate, Jerry wells, who came all made all American out there. We both went out to as a package deal. And we the first to play at oh, see you. And so we was the first African Americans to play those see you in starting at sixty two. We're what what other choices? Did you have back then? Well, I was the first African American to be recruited university of Louisville. Wow. Yeah. Nowadays was that. Now that was obviously pre Wes Unseld. That was I would have played with west. I would have been a senior west would have been a probably a sophomore. "But if you're the cardinals do you look at this as an opportunity to refresh your entire franchise with talent, which is pretty devoid class Campbell all those guys Honey badger left over the past four years, and you can get three first round draft choices to surround your quarterback or help you defense for your quarterback. And you only get this chance once going back to when the chargers passed on Vic, and they gave it up. They got Tomlinson and breeze. Yeah, I know. But it's one thing to have draft picks of the Cleveland Browns have proven it's nothing to draft. Well, which the Cleveland Browns have proven that. They don't mclovin how crazy would be if another quarterback rose like Tom mcshea said the raiders also loved drew lock like what if he went top five with that the way quarterbacks are with that blow your mind. Yes. It would cause drew lock might have the best arm in the draft. But he I just thought he was wildly inconsistent. This. Yeah. Here. And this is when he had the spotlight on him because he year ago this same scout. Who's told me most of this stuff in been right? All the time said he loved drew lock ski scouted him. Love drew lock love what he saw any didn't think he took that next step where he got that much better. And he didn't stand out this year at all is it possible. Someone's pulling a Blake Bortles where there's another guy, you know, a mystery guy, and I don't know. How did that work out? Remember a member? How shocking that was at the time because they didn't even scout him. He was shocked. The Browns projected win total is nine. You better get to nine. Because you got to seven eight in one last year the patriots eleven wins. And I was wondering about this do realize the patriots who are eleven and five last season had the highest win total at eleven this year. So they're atop the win total board before the start of the season for the fourth consecutive year and the tenth time since twenty two thousand four. The patriots are a best thirteen three and one in the over department for victories since two thousand two. The day.

"I never know how the young people around here. How much they know about ESPN, but media dorks among us get interested in some media stuff at ESPN. So for example, Peter gammons was our baseball guy across a decade. He was the baseball guy. And then Tim Kirk came for his stuff. And then BUSTER only came for stuff where else have you seen this happen? Chris Mortenson was the guy and then Adam Schefter came first. Now their peers, and they're doing it together. But mort is the guy who was Peter gammons in football. Whoa. Was the guy and now schefters coming for wo? Does that mean they'll happening? It's it's a work in progress. But what we've had happened around. Here is yesterday. Jeff passan announced himself. He did only Kirk shin coming to get I'm not only going to break this story on every platform. It's going to be a surprising story on my trout. No one else is gonna have it. And I'm gonna be talking about it minutes later on all the platform, some of them as Elmo if I remember correctly, and I researched it I believe Peter game. It's actually left ESPN parental be network as part of their launch. It was the guy. Yeah. Replace I know point but made it seem as though like Tim Kirkman took. Okay. But you remember Mick sailing team is capable of doing such a thing mcshea is is is chasing Kuyper stuff or your. We all remember where we were when mcshea arrived and dared to argue. Draft with Kuyper never seen it on television. Like, wait. What why would you argue with Mel kiper Todd mcshay announced that early correct did Jeff passan? Yes, or no. Did he do that yesterday? Did he announce himself to everyone as at the network? Hey, there's a new baseball guy in town. I think so. Yeah, I think he did he broke the biggest baseball story and years. Of course, do you think Archie was upset or now Kirch into about BUSTER? He's been on my radar for a while. Because he's hated the Marlins for a long time. I was not a Jeff passan fan before Elmo. Now, I like them that was cool Elba. It does wonders for you really does elbow. I called it album. I don't know. I was thinking the elbow room that little beach on four little bar. What? I mean, just you pivoted to lie the lie. Good bore though. Right. Who's Wilkin coming foreign? I take. All right. Then we all know CNA. Can we absorb for a second the size of that lie? I was thinking about the elbow room a bar in Fort Lauderdale like it's one of his worst efforts here. It's one of stupidity. It's one of his worst efforts ever. I'm with them. It's a good place. You guys don't like elbow room. There was a live terrible live. Why was believe him? Throw yourself out. How about that? Guys are good elbow room story. I I I don't know. All right here, we go..

"You tell me you want me to come on show. I gotta be honest. Listen, Jason, you know, I love you. And I think we'll have you on the show. Right. But I mean. This whole thing with you. When the goal ex I'm gonna adopted son. I was the original adopted son into the going family, and I feel like you have kind of just stepped on me. And you are the Sunday always wanted. Sorry about that. But I'm just telling you like, I still I love you, buddy. Ben, Stu, you're you're a starter house. Okay. I'm the mansion you're the starter house happens. I'm sorry. You're you're always hanging out with the family. You're always filling in with trae is out. You know, I just thought in the goal for closer. And then you bring it Old Dominion, you'll get Mike backstage passes. I don't know if there's anything I can do to win going back. And certainly have you on the podcast is not gonna is not going to do that. I'm not gonna lie when you put the side by side and stugatz up next to Jason the way they're both dressed right now. And the way everything's put together it looks like Jason is Stu gods after he stopped drinking for a while when he shaves. And does will transition is canny, I appreciate that. So let's get you since you the number one podcast in the world. Let's get your sports opinion on something here. Mcshea put out a mock draft two point. Oh, do you like it? And what who do you want? The jets to take. Well for the first time in a long time. I'm not gonna say quarterback. So now it's about it's about putting people I do like the mock draft. I always liked Jay's mock draft can put out one every day. And I'd be glued to it. But as far as the jets are concern, I Muslim Sam darnold showdown off. I'm not going to sit here and say, let's go take a quarterback in years past. I upset what's a quarterback every single year. Abu darnold was good enough for me where I'm willing to see that play out. Now, it's about putting pieces around Sam darnold. So whether it's going out and trying to get Levy on bell or Antonio Brown. And then the draft I think, you know, it's not sexy. But I did the judges need a God to protect Sam darnold for the next ten years. So whoever that best left tackle is in the draft. I don't know who that is. You guys would probably know better whoever that person is that's the guy like to see the jets take. So here's the amazing thing. First foremost mcshea has jets taking Gary the N from Michigan second. There's about three minutes left in this segment. And we were told we have to let stugatz go because he has to go onto the next thing. He's done. So now, he can't even knew full seconds with us because he had the number one podcast. He's Mr. Biggins right now. So go on go do what you gotta do. At the home. Oh, my here's the problem. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I what are you talking about? I guess your handlers. We'll tell you. We were told we let you go. So. We love. Thanks for hanging out with this. All three of you. I'm sorry. Subscribe down read a nice review, and then unsubscribe, and then subscribe again, that's how we do it. Go make sure they going to hand on that again. Remember, my percentage time. I don't know. But I think he's big time any year. We gotta let go. Got to God's is going to be pulling up to interviews in a year like big boy, did it the Super Bowl like with with the full mink, and like the whole the whole get up..

"Ryan wheels. With you in studio tell the bottom of the hour than it will be Avs and capitals from our nation's capital. The pregame starts at four thirty five. It's been a weird week. The Avs did play at home the other night against on Tuesday night against the jackets, but you have the nuggets three times this week play tomorrow. It's going to be an hour and a half show. So just kind of one of those perfect storms where four out of the five days of the week. You have the nuggets or the avalanche in east coast city. Are you more of a do you like the? Five o'clock starts or the like, eight o'clock starts you like the late window or the earliest window the late one. Their way to. Yeah. Certainly not for attending. Like, I've been to some nuggets games have been on TNT. And it's like good Lord. It's midnight by the end of the third quarter. Feels like it's going to be worse when the nuggets are in the playoffs because they're going to get if an eighth stop. He's gonna get an eight thirty tip, and it's going to be pushed back till nine and the game's gonna the third quarter is gonna be over at one o'clock in the morning. But hey, you deal with it. When you're in the playoffs. Right. So i'm. I I do like the late window as well. Because I feel like once might teams done. It's like, okay. What else am I gonna do tonight that way you watch the late window, and then you can go right to bed. So anyway. Avalanche and capitals at the bottom of the hour. If you want to interact two eight six zero zero four six last hour, we talked about Kansas City GM Brett VH should be still John Dorsey, by the way. Saying that they have told Patrick Mahomes in his representation. No moss on the basketball playing and. You guys have opinion on that. And we appreciate it. We'll get to the other thoughts. You guys have on it coming up in a little bit. Todd mcshay came out today with his. Two point oh, mock draft and some interesting things came about. Not so much where he had them going at number ten. He has them taking the corner out of Georgia. I want the wind the one is the LSU that's named greedy. Maybe I'll see his name before. I get too. Yeah. They have a cornerback yet, greedy Williams from LSU. I have yet to like I remember both. He and de'andre Baker. They cornerback out of Georgia, greedy Williams is out of LSU. Yeah. I've seen them both play. But I'm going to have to go back and look as we, you know, fully enter our draft previewing and things like that. But on name alone. If you're a Broncos fan get greedy, right? That's it's the easy hashtag and everything like that. But we had a show with force lamp, we didn't take that. We didn't know Broncos did not take four slam. No, he loved lamp though. Exactly. By the way, not to plug the other guy. So I won't give them credit for hosting this. But did you see Ron burgundy has a podcast? Nice. On the other guys though. So I'm pretty sure that my phone will be will explode if I try to listen, don't because our employers always watching, and yeah, they are. So he has the Broncos taking de'andre Baker the cornerback out of Georgia at number ten, greedy Williams has going eight to Detroit. I he does say that they could trade up for quarterback or take a quarterback at ten with Kyla Murray. And or drew lock, but he just thinks in in the absence of that he has Haskins going six to the giants. And we talked about the pro football focus mock draft, add the Broncos training up to three. I just can't see the Broncos doing that to go all in like that feels like twenty twenty move for Herbert or tongue vilo. So I just don't see that happening. I think Haskins is out of the question. I just don't think again the top five. And if everyone agrees Haskins the best quarterback, then the giants are going to take him. They took enough heat for drafting saquon Barkley. Over Sam darnold even with the year. Barkley had. I can't imagine the giants. Pass on on the best quarterback. Right. So could the Jags jump them? Right. There's a situation where that could be the case. But you certainly don't believe that Haskins is going to drop below six. So the Broncos decision will be Murray. Lock or you go a different route at ten. And I have said already that. I would rather the Broncos go I think this is a perfect again. I liked greedy, Devon, white LSU inside linebackers also pick. But the sentiment behind Tom mcshea, saying the Broncos would take the Andrea Baker at ten I agree with maybe it's not the player, I would take. But. I will still nothing that will happen between now in late April will change my mind that the Broncos should go with a different position at number ten. This is just not the right quarterback draft to go QB at ten now. What is heartening if you're Broncos fan? And if you are someone that thinks that Todd mcshay is the best Macher of all the markers is that. There's only one more quarterback going in the first round, according to Tom mcshea in that is Cuyler Murray going to the dolphins at thirteen. If that is the case, I think that is the best case scenario for the Denver Broncos. For drew lock to be available at the end of the first round or Kyla Murray. Because now you say we we made the the Bradley Chubb like pick, and that's also part of the issue here with what the Broncos did last year. Was it? The right move going Bradley Chubb when there were when there was Josh Allen. Or Josh Rosen still on the board. We can debate that till the end of time. I like Josh Rosen. I don't like Josh Allen. But I think you can't are. It's like the giants was saquon. You can't argue with the results should the Broncos have gone with the quarterback at ten given the weak relative weakness of quarterbacks in this draft. Maybe but they made a good pick and got an impact player that's going to be in Denver for a decade. So. Kyw kind of one of those things that it's hard to argue with the production Bradley Chubb had. So I certainly think this draft should be the same way. But the problem with last year is that the Broncos damn tried to put themselves in a position to get. A young quarterback after they took Bradley Chubb. They just weren't in a position to do. So this year, I believe that they could put themselves in a position to be able to take the safe pick with Williams or Baker or white in phila- need at either inside linebacker corner. And then potentially move up to get Daniel Jones through and that's not like he Tom mcshea has drew lock dropping out of the first round. That's not even to mention Daniel Jones who some think is even better than drew lock. So I think this mock draft is about the best case scenario that I've seen so far for the Denver Broncos. Is that not only do they go with a bigger need because let's everyone needs a quarterback. And I don't think that the Broncos are immune to that. But they have something in case keenum, whether that's good enough or not. You know remains to be seen how this team bolsters the rest of the roster around him. But they're not. They're not in as big of a spot as like the Jags are the Jags are like they gotta get a quarterback one way or another because the Bortles ship has completely sale. So they find somebody whether free agency or the draft. So if the Broncos go with a corner to pair with Chris Harris. At ten and. Daniel Jones, Andrew lock or still on the board at the end of the first round. I think that if you're a Broncos fan, you gotta be ecstatic. Now the question after that becomes 'cause you and I were talking about this off air wheels. I think you bring up a great point. Who can the Broncos moved back into the first round with because if the patriots are doing their homework on Kyla Murray? I am the Jason lockenfora and others have said if Tyler Moore is available at the end of the first round the patriots are taking him because they've done extensive homework on Kyla Murray. Maybe they don't love drew lock as much, but it seems like the patriots coming off of another Super Bowl title. The best pick. They can make probably trying to find. Tom Brady's successor at the first round. So looking at the rest of the teams in the bottom of the first round. Do you see a potential? Fit for the Broncos because you're looking for two things you're looking for a team that doesn't have a glaring weakness that they have to count for and also a team that would be okay with trading with the Broncos, aka not. So do you see a fit near the end of the first round for the Denver Broncos. Honestly. No, I don't. And and here's the thing you're missing collar Murray falling the potential falling. Isn't there a point where he fall so far that he says, you know, what forget it? Don't bother drafting meal make more money playing for the for the as. You know, pull a Charlie ward. Certainly there's that with Cuyler Marie. I think if he's taken in the first round or or goes to a place like Denver where he feels like there is a quick path to starting. Yeah. Even if he has to sit behind case keenum for a year. You would think twenty twenty is going to be his year with the Denver Broncos. I think that he can justify it. So if he goes to a place like Jacksonville or Denver. I don't know. Maybe even New England. Where he feels like there's a chance. Because because of the way the draft is is structured now because there's you know. There's slotted money. You know, how much you're gonna make right? And there's there's got to be a point for him where he says. Yeah. Never mind. That you know, that's certainly some. But drew lock doesn't have that. No. So if drew lock falls like Tom mcshea thinks he will. Yeah. Then you've mentioned collar Murray and the right atrium. No, you're right. You're absolutely thinking collar Murray's not going to make it to the patriots. So. But yeah as far as far as the Broncos trading back in. I mean, the Rams are like the only thing I could see, but they probably have some things that they want to address in the first round. Potentially especially with losing Dhamma can sue maybe in free agency Rocco's are picking at forty one. So it's not I think I did look at this. They do have a higher second round pick. Then the ravens did when they traded back to get Lamar Jackson. So just because the Broncos are sitting eight picks into the second round. Does not mean they don't have the ability because it's all on a point system. They could give up a third and a fourth and be able to trade back into the first round potentially or trade highly in the second. So. I still think it's the best case scenario when you're looking at a mock draft where only two quarterbacks go in the top in the first round. Then some of these other ones that think that Haskins goes six lock goes seventh. And then all of a sudden if you don't like Daniel Jones, then your last chance here is to get Kyla Murray. Yeah. The deal re looking at it the only other team I could see them maybe getting to trade with them is Green Bay who was the thirtieth pick from the saints. Right. I mean, Todd Todd Vishay has them looking at defensive end, right, which if they go back to the, you know, the second that forty first pick then it'd be fine with that. Looking at a Denver Broncos website. Did they do this? Every once in a while, they kind of take all the notable mock drafts put them together and say, this is who people think we're gonna take Tom mcshea, obviously with the Andre Baker Walter chair Pinski from Walter football dot com has them taking drew lock will Brinson of CBS sports. Drew lock trad reader of NFL dot com..

"The is the Paul finebaum show. Our four podcast. We welcome. You back. The final hour of the we've has arrived, and we will get right back to the calls at eight five five to four to seven to eight five. Mark is in Florida, and you are on the air. Mark. Yeah. Thanks for taking my call. I don't keep very much. I was wanting to bring up the transfer rose. They got going on right now. And I want to make a prediction that I think it everybody that's college football fan should be aware of with the transfer rule. I think all of his fixing the change. And if we don't get behind the and get on the NCAA to give them the changes thing, then you're gonna have these high power recruiting classes like Alabama and Georgia come in retreat. All these big names and there used to be in the stars. And then if they're not playing their first years, then you know, after springs the after the spring drills, and I'll they they could actually transfer being and. Point. I had you could you could have like to add Alabama. If he got mad at saving, you know, hate could transfer and that's their that's their offense. I really don't think. It's right. I can see why they did it, you know, get kids from sitting out sitting bench or your loan, and and maybe going to another school and play, but they're actually hurting the team's by doing this. Well, what do you think? I I think it is a challenge. I I do agree with you on that markets are fair point. Thanks a lot for for bringing it up. Good to hear from you. Brian is up next in Tennessee. Hello, Brian April. How you doing very well? Thank you while. I was just wondering what you thought Kentucky's. Josh Allen has to do to make it into the top spot in the NFL draft this year. I think he may already be there. I mean, depending on the projections, and I think I saw mcshea 'Estime mcshea as he was number two. Now, let me say this Brian everything is fluid because once you get to the combines and the and the NFL pro days, you'll see a significant amount of movement. But I think right now, he's a definite top ten. I think it depends on need. And that's the one thing on. I'm not a I'm not a I'm not a draft expert. So I mean, I couldn't I mean, I I know I know what the average fan knows. I couldn't tell you exactly what every team in the in the top five needs. But but I'm pretty sure his position is a position of great need in the NFL. Right air. Thanks for the insight. You got a great to hear from you. Nick is next. Hey, nick. Oh, mama, man. How you doing? We are doing great. Thank you. Hey, paul. I'm I'm I'm glad you're off the TV because what I'm gonna say my Michael my Obama considerate pissed at. I got agree with. Kubiak really? Yeah. 'cause God ride whenever I met when I was show about Notre Dame. But L ball Notre Dame. How I number back in the seventies and eighties. They're five and two Agha's. Bama as you will know, of course. Yeah. I mean, some the seventies eighties. They had our number airforce Asian. We couldn't beat him. Now, I mean, those two famous bowl games in a row that cost Alabama national championships. They lost again. What in seventy I got wrote down seven. I think seventy seventy maybe seventy I can't I know lost in nineteen eighty again as well. In nineteen eighty in ages Notre Dame one to the seventies. Notre Dame won three. We've made them in eighty six. Yeah. Yeah. That was when I think a Lou Holtz first year, right? Right. And then we beat them in you know, in the championship game back and thirteen and that was it. But go back ride. I mean, I'm I'm straight out Alabama, but Boeing, and Brad, but Marco got born I have great with Mark on that one. Well, that might be the first time anyone's ever agreed with Martinez. Our Greg is up next. How are you? Greg. I'm fine, sir. How're you doing? I am doing great. Thank you wonderful to hear from you. How to talk to you. Thank you very much. What I have to ask is, you know, when we lost to Clinton the first time pervy smart was leaving. And we lost this time and the other coordinator was leaving offensive. And I was wondering how much you thought that portrayed interest losing?.

"Dependable four G lte networks. All right. What do you got with mcshea mailman about a big deal? It's just we were. We were doing not a big deal. But now we were doing a show the other night, and we get to the end of the first round I'm talking about Daniel Jones going to England Patriots New England Patriots pick twenty nine in this whole mock draft that it could be picking they hope it thirty two, but we did it based on different formulas. And where it is for the final four which hasn't been set yet. So let's lock them into twenty nine for now at Daniel Jones quarterback do because the apparent the Tom Brady, I was given the strengths and weaknesses of Daniel Jones. And I said he has a Compaq released, and then we got to go to mcshea and mcshea is a little valuation. Then he does not have a Compaq release. Well, okay. So one one valuator says he has a compact one says he doesn't somewhere Kirk Morrison said, well, it's not a long delivery so somewhere in between. I say if it's not along delivery. What is it? I call it Compaq mcshea at a problem with that. And he said it we'll see I we had to get some different people. Now doors shut its chief shot because he said it, and it was a lab essentially the last word, it's like hitting a heart out. Yeah. Yes. Okay. Which I never do. You don't you know, you and Philippa would've still been talking if I hadn't we weren't taking that thing. So make shea got the last word. Yes, he shot down your your compact release. Right. But you didn't ask show? He doesn't have a radio show on ESPN radio. So I had less word. Now, you have the last. Yes. But it was cheap shot when you ever no chance to defend yourself. Exactly. Exactly. All right Shays listening and he wants to call into the show today. He is free to do. So that's right. That's right. Mcshea feel free to. She has a standing invitation. That's right. Call on the show anytime he feels it's warranted. Because as of now, you have the last word, exactly and mcshea, you're wrong. It is a compact released. Yes. Okay. Long delivering that's right atom Tushar. We're gonna takes them to get that ball. Once you get that bottom his hands. It's pretty quick. All right. Chiefs reporter joins us next on that. "And so he's done a terrific job. But I think it's also been the tight ends as well Tyler hick, be eighty nine also Gerald every eighty one so those have been kind of the quarterbacks best friend and they utilize them maybe four or five times a game. I think that they still need to get more active with the tight ends. But that's really what's taking this offense over just a little bit of the loss of Cooper Cup is more the tide in especially in the bootlegs. We saw last week early in the game. They got higby going early on a quick bootleg. That's just going to keep the defense honest, and it gives I think Jared Goff levels. So he's gonna have that three level route. I think male where you'll have the underneath guy there you'll have that second level, and if the banks take away that third level, which is usually Brandin cooks we saw with Jared Goff. Was able to Bill where he held it. He kept it and ran for I down to kill the clock. So the Rams of have got different ways. Now to kinda help the loss of Super Cup goodstuff Kirk we appreciate your time. And enjoy the game. Always a pleasure right before I go. I gotta say male senior bowl next week of all these quarterbacks and tell me one who's got the most to gain though. That's a great question. That is a great question of the quarterback. I would say the one that I look at. And I say we're will he be come draft day. Ryan Finley some people want to see state would be a first round picks on people say third or fourth round pick. I think Ryan Finley that battle with Finley will Greer drew lock is going to be interesting to see out of those three who wins out to be maybe the fourth quarterback off the board. And they've even the quarterback off the board because there's no guarantee Daniel Jones from Duke will be a head of those guys. I think that locked rear Finley deal between now and the draft day is going to be interesting to see how it plays out Kirk. Well, yeah, I had Daniel Jones and the bowl game had them three games. The last couple of years. I think the is legit. And so what do you think? Hey, kirk. What do you think about Jones is really how would you describe his release? You know, it's it's not necessarily a long relief. But he gets the ball quick. I like the way that he gets to the line of scrimmage, and he's got a plan his head. I caught a Kirk Compaq release mcshea says it's a long release. Yeah. It's it's. He gets the ball out. The ball comes out. It's far. I mean, he's got a lot of Lhasa city on it..

Hopefully, we've got some answers. I'll start with the question that I actually didn't ask you yet. I suppose know the answer, but we did some halftime streams during the two playoff semi finals can people expect more streams from you. And I on Monday evening may be pre-game. Maybe during halftime, maybe a quick one post game. I mean, sure let us know if you prefer which time all times, I don't know. We'll do whatever you guys want. But I'm game. They'll be Instagram. Right solid. The Graham handle we'll do it on the it'll be on Instagram because I don't think you can easily do side by side on periscope. Right. If you feel like doing something on periscope by all means do something on periscope from the solid verbal count. But yes, it'll be Instagram. It will be maybe we'll do something pre-game answer some. Questions and do half time and post game. Yeah. Why not? All right. Also. There's no coaches show. Did you see that? My god. I'm fit to be tied over this. So the coaches film room has affected been replaced now by the Monday night football film room, which features Joe Tessa tour. We love we love Joe Tessa tour. Sure as well as Jason Witten booger McFarland anti mcshea like Todd mcshay, as well, the I just, you know, I might be another out of touch podcast her. I'm just not sure people were begging for more Jason Witten in their college football. Oh, maybe it's just me. I don't I don't know. If it's just me it here was my question. Really? Do you think it was ESPN saying, you know, what we're gonna try something new and try to put our Monday night football crew in a more forward facing college role. People can get used to them all over the sports spectrum. Or do you think the only coaches they can confirm were not big enough? No, I think they pulled the plug. I think it's they signed Jason Witten to a big contract. And now they want to try and get their money's worth of you know, like they bought the SUV he'd cooker now they wanna cook everything with the SUV cooker. Yeah. I think that's entirely possible. I just am. I am very hopeful that somebody at ESPN said. All right. We've got Chris ash. We've got Luc fickle. We've got. No. That's not true. You know? That's not true. I know they they can get big names got kalani talk. Right. And that's it just with the Raas. Sir. All due respect to all those coaches. Do varying degrees of jobs. I think it's possible. I think it's possible that maybe they had one big name because you can get Mack Brown. You can obviously get back Brown even feel only have three guys or two guys in the booth. Even if it were just the coaches that work for ESPN and a lot of people don't love, Jim Mora. But if you just had like, a very nerdy film room with maybe a recently retired coach, I dunno whoever's still can add texture to the average. They still know they're doing to some very put richt on camera. Put Rick digamma and try to get. I mean, it's a tough ass, but like get Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley about urban. What's he doing urban got ESPN do that while he's he's teaching? He is he's a professor now too. The that was disappointing. And again, we put this off route on Twitter if any F B S head coach wants to come over to either one of our places in eastern PA or a New York we will feed you we will put a webcam on you'll straight, and we will we will stream out the game. The camera facing the couch, not the TV screen extremely low rent. But we'll do it drive to your place. You can drive to mind will will figure out what we will feed you. Yes. So I have I have twenty eight twenty three I'm gonna miss the film room. I'm not gonna watch the halftime concert. Do you have a final hop -fensive coordinator recommendation because I do. Okay, you go first we have a brewery that we are just enormous fans of that is probably the college football brewery in America, man, that's druid city. Yeah. And Tuscaloosa Alabama, I don't know their distribution plan..

John Wick 3: Parabellum discussion

"Want to kind of discuss John wick three. This is Joey when it first came out was a huge surprise everybody on how awesome canneries was in an action movie with killing a bunch of dudes. Now, don't get major cool. But this is more this actually one of these movies that they said the actually change the action. John. Rowe the entire action on how action things are shocked. No, more crazy. You know, slow motion bullets. It's all real live. And he didn't doesn't he doesn't himself. If you Google Keanu Reeves three gun or gun shooting range. He is amazing zeal and he's like. And I I I never liked him as an actor till John wick the desert, see more. He was born several other stuff. He did as a person. Damn Yuki honorees, you're making me like, you know, how dare given his seat up to somebody. Letter three the guy the other Bill and Ted the other guy who Preston Brenston Bill or something he's going to be done with three playing the manual shoveling. No, just kidding. That that'd be great crazy doing the guitar. Yeah. So this is going to be more of a speculation thing. We don't it's still out there. We know who that cast the we definitely know who they cast his back and the hotel. Yeah. The hotel manager maybe at well. I think is the manager. Okay. Hotel hotel, which I I watched told the other night. Yeah. Really wish they actually would make because I I heard streaming that they might make hotel continental show about about body about fanciest chain of those hotels internationally there. Forgive me for him in though. So yeah, but Lawrence fish worms come back. Right. All his character is posing gonna clash heavily with English as because lords Fishburn, the leader of the. Yeah. That was. Yeah. So you got two other big names with Halle Berry. Yes, she's Safiya fasten. We'd be rose potentially rose was she was in jumping to what she did. She was she was one of the main people are right. The thing is like at the end. He I think either shoots our stature. And then he says hold this here, and then he leaves? So we didn't see her by so. Yeah. Well, I wouldn't she wouldn't be top billing was the way. Yeah. But I at the end the also saw where they told him. Hey, you know, we got to come after you. Yeah. Go ahead start. What is it? I looked it up Zeevis pessimism barrow bellum. I guess that's a that's the para bellum is the dumb with three pair of idle subtitles subtitle, and he was excommunicated resigned. So he he screwed up and he killed so many on hotel continental at the let me rephrase spoilers. But you know, if Yeah. I'm. Even one or two people in this movie and two, but yeah. So he p kill. He kills guy in the hotel continental which is rule number one. No, no. It's a big. No, no. So you get you get banned from your assassin club on you because. Yeah. Be safe ground. Yeah. So yeah. So John week three, man. It's going to be apparently he's on a horse that was that was on that Trump is scape. The city, and I guess that was one. There. It is. Yeah. Who's feed is dog? Will he's leaving big pit bull compete himself. Now just goes out and killed scores. Like, wasn't you? Don't wanna do is mess with John wicks is -actly. Oh, you know, the first one was a beagle. Sick was a pit bull. So yeah. Yeah. There was going to be like a miniature horse one isn't a big horse. So yeah, I think I it's going to be one of those movies where you you just got to go watch theaters. But yeah, it's it's it's gonna it's gonna be crazy. I can't wait until it is especially I lords Fishburn and Andy mcshea any machine. I mean, if you're like you oughta Reeves's xactly picture by being. It's the fourth matrix Laurence, Fishburne and canneries. They're they're going to be consuming. It out. Ooh. Ooh. Thank you did see that tied tied it altogether. Matrix, the fourth meet, well, you know, matrix revolutions what I'm saying here joke. Houston's going to be in this also as the director member of the hi this is this is you'll be one of the high ups. I hope this is going to be like the JAMES BOND series. I could I could get behind that get behind that in like five years, John wick is actually in five years. They replace it with with another personal. Yeah. I could see him going following another assassin. I hear here's thing. I think what they're going to do. They're going to do the board series. It's going to it's. Joan week. That was the worst born ever. I like Jerry come on man on Hawkeye. Yeah. Oh, yeah. People heroes, but hey, comma, down below because what do you guys think about John week three coming up? I think I can't wait that that is one of the movies. I'll just go ahead and pay for out of pocket. I don't have movie pass anymore. Screw you movie that by it'll Blu Ray watch marathon. Yeah.
