Debating the Ahmaud Arbery case
"Equa mercy. Join his acklin great to see you. Did He. How dare you? How dare you? This is my house and you're wearing yenkey stuff. Scion unapologetically hello. All right well I just hope that during our debate I do better than the mets do against the Yankees that's. Hoping all right, let. This is what we're GONNA to talk about is the video. The video and the Aubrey case is an amazing piece of evidence. For the prosecution against the McMichael's because you see everything they do. Those are the two guys with the guns in the pickup, one of whom shoots and kills armory. But I think unfortunately. It's a great piece of evidence for the man who is recording that video. Roddy Brian Acklin you do not agree with me. Do not you are wrong. You're wrong. All right I'M GONNA go first, and it starts here and I say unfortunately and I want to preface that folks I'm not making an argument for Roddy. Brian what I'm telling you is what's going to happen and unfortunately this is a great piece of evidence for Roddy, Brian, this video and it comes down to the arguments that Kevin Goth is attorney. Make look at the facts surrounding the video, the only person on the face of the earth who knows this video is being made and being recorded at the time. It's being made in recorded. Is Roddy Brian Okay. He's the only one that knows. That this video exists. He's the only person on earth okay. So, if in fact, prosecutors are going to argue that these three men are working as a lynch mob. Are they going to argue that Roddy Brian's job as part of this lynch mob is to Corral And make sure that you record the lynching, so we can memorialize all of this. And don't forget how everyone finds out about the recording. Roddy Brian at the scene. Invites police into his truck to view the video, so police show up there. Just investing you try to figure out what happens and Ronnie Brian. Tells Police. Listen I got I've got it on video. I, recorded it. Please take a look at it. Shows it to them right then and there. So. Again. Unfortunately, the argument that Kevin Goth can make is lazy. Let's go inside the body Brian. What's his intent? Here was his intent to lynch. Ahmad Aubrey. If so, why would he record a crime? And then why? When police show up the first thing he would do is hand over to police the evidence of the crime that he committed. This goes one hundred percent into the mindset of Roddy Brian and this is a strong argument that Kevin Goth can make to a jury. that. Why on earth would someone record their own crime and then the first thing they do when police show up? Is hand the piece of evidence over to them. ACKLIN. Arguing was very compelling in sense. It's you can tell that you're not racist. By the argument that you provided because we did not include the racist element. Ronnie, Brian in the Michael's were racist, and they were on age racist Tirade. That is why they went around. That is why they have video. As you can see back in the day when they did lynchings in wasn't prided, they had videos. They need pictures of it because they were excited about what they did. We are in a world in which we have Presidential rallies in which races tirades are invited so to to be to say that Haiti's men weren't in building would be wrong. They were in bolted with regards to the back surrounding the video. Let's talk about it the fact surrounding videos. Let's talk about the video. When he was I invited. It was no audio I. Don't know I have that function in my recording in the sense in which I can record a thin ideo in not on your. You know who had the. Mr Brian. We didn't hear the shock in the basement of something that somebody about to die. Why because that million participating in now? He missed a whole big piece of evidence in that pieces of Ahmad. Berry was found on missed the giants car. Pieces that means that evidence of Mr Bridge that means that he hit. The armory with his car to prevent him for movie. To say that he was unarmed is wrong. Mr Robin Mister Bryant had the biggest weapon it at the time. Which is the whole vehicle? Truck with a whole trump down at he did his way, even had that man was cool hand Luke because he was watching a murder, and nobody asked for the audio initially because he was a murder. You know who that the cops you had racist cops come to a racist situation. Leave. The racism states okay hit him with the high side and let him live for three months. Months without any interruption to say that Mister. Bryant wasn't guilty is a farce. He was very much guilty at an end for three months. They watched a video and immig miles. What because they were able to stop? Being friends after Arboretum was shot and killed, they were still friends. They still had the video. They watched it so much, so daddy opened the door to sexual crimes. The this, this case should shock the conscience because the levels of racism in this case is unreasonable, we act three different prosecutors. This prosecutor who saw this in didn't think that this was a murder. We had officers at the scene saw this. In, dot, this which justify so the the Glenn Races. When the most important that evidence of our very being on righties car was still on his car. Three months acted incident and nearly care to wash off so. That that is that the video helps Brian. Totally doesn't work acting that. You didn't plinking most so. The prosecutors are going to argue. That Roddy Brian. Was Racist which they can. Was In cahoots and knew the police would not charge him, which is why he shared the video with police, and knew the process and shared it with the prosecutor because he knew the prosecutor would never charge them, is that do you think that is? An argument that is going to fly with the again. This I'm saying. These are all unfortunate facts for prosecutors in this case, and the prosecutors are going to have to prosecute. Roddy Brian. The McMichael's the local Glenn County Police and the prosecutor's office all in the same trial in order for that theory of yours to to not help. Roddy Brian? Welcome welcome to the practicing law. The South the levels of racism is so appeared like many I. I have to think of Armagh. Arbitrary. That I may get I get that I. Get that, but here's my point. My point is this makes that video the fact that he shoots video and there's more obstacles now. Prosecutors unfortunately again that and to me the obstacle is not only do I have to prosecute these three men. I've got to prosecute the local police and I've got to prosecute the local prosecutor and guess what I'm probably going to have to do it in Glynn County. Georgia. That makes the case more difficult. It's like it's like A. It's like a harper. Literally, but this is what in is in the south? We Wanna say that we come. We've come so far, but that's what it is, and that's how that's how big it is. That's how big it is I think we're agreeing here Hear me out here me out on my theory and why we're agreeing okay, because we're. We're making to arguments that are. not necessarily in conflict everything you're saying. I'm I'm agreeing with. Right. I, just have to get you to agree with the fact that the case is a little bit harder against Roddy Brian with him shooting that video and handing it to police, because now prosecutors have to take on the police and the prosecutors right so. Can we agree on that yes? Yes, all right all right I think we solved it. I think we did. This is a big moment, but I will not ever. Ever cheer for the Yankees. Especially when they play my mets, that will never happen, but I think we can agree here. To a certain extent that the there's going to be some obstacles here, but I think what you have shown me. And made me realize how you look at the case. You know I look at the case a certain way, but I have to get a different mentality onto to to get to that next level. So? Wow Acklin, always great having you on the show for having go Yankees got. That will be her last time on the show by the way. Either that or we can edit that out next time. We'll just bleep it out. Right Acklin mercy, incredible criminal defense attorney. In Georgia knows Georgia law. Insider knows Georgia juries, which is the most important part of of trying to case when we come back. I WANNA, talk about hate crimes, because at the time of the Amman archery shooting there was no hate crime. Law in Georgia and people were. Besides themselves coast to coast. When you come back I'm going to explain to you why it's really not a big deal. Especially in this case, number one and number two. Hate crimes. Are Way too over height by the media.

Man who recorded Ahmaud Arbery shooting charged with murder
"The Georgia bureau of investigation has made a third arrest in the shooting of a mod armory he is the a black man who was shot dead while jogging in his neighborhood yesterday authorities charged William Bryan with felony murder he's a fifty year old man who filmed and later posted video capturing operates death earlier this month two other men Gregory McMichael and his son Travis were both charged with murder and aggravated assault they are being held in a Greene County jail CBS news digital journalist as Mitchell is joining us now to give us a few more details about the case in the latest information you were at the Georgia bureau of investigation's up press conference what did you learn there good morning and Murray one of the things that G. B. I. director Vic Reynolds pointed out is that in this case Brian is being charged with felony murder and that is because he was also being charged with committing a felony at the time that someone died that other felony is the intent to commit false imprisonment and he wouldn't speculate as to why we are seeing this just now happening two months more than two months after the actual death of Ahmad armory however he did point us to some warrants which we are expecting to get today and that will go into more of the facts of the case we do know that the G. B. I rated them in Michael's home earlier this week and then this arrest was made just yesterday so we are starting to put together these pieces we do know that there is more video that we have not seen and director Runnels would not say exactly what is in those videos but we're expecting to learn much more as things start to unfold such as he has Brian's arrest come as a surprise was a tornado's attorney had been pretty vocal about his client his client's innocence having nothing to do with it is calling himself it appeared on various networks including our own was a surprise I sat down with Kevin god William Roddy Brian and his fiance a couple weeks ago and they were adamant that they had nothing to do with this and that Roddy simply saw Ahmad running past and then the McMichael's chasing him in their truck and that's what prompted him to start recording this video and something very interesting happened because Kevin got has been very vocal as you said just yesterday he made a post on Facebook saying in part that we can expect to hear a big and no comment from him if we try to inquire further about anything and that he said if with all due respect if you continue to call for comment about the case I will not only block you but I will also delete all contact information not for you but for your entire news organization please don't make me do that and he made that on a public Facebook posts a couple hours before the arrest and then when the arrest was made two hours after the arrest he said he does not expect to be hosting any news conferences and he has hosted news conferences as late as ten PM over the past couple weeks can you just sort of talk a little bit about the video in the timeline and what it shows could because it was the release of this video the leak of the video that really was a turning point in this case so Ronnie Bryant recorded this video and turn it over to police as soon as the murder happened on February twenty third but the public didn't see it until three weeks ago three weeks ago a separate attorney from Brunswick who is not on retainer by anybody in this case released the video saying that he was hoping to clear his friends Gregory in Travis Nick Michael by doing so and it from there sparked protests across the country people have been running for a mod to show their support and their we've been in Brunswick for the past two weeks seeing protests and rallies outside of the courthouse demanding justice but that was really the catalyst for the attention and the GB I was brought in just days after that video was released to the public and that was on may fifth at the GB I started their investigation on may seventh they arrested the man Michaels and just yesterday they arrested righty

"mcmichael" Discussed on The Breakdown with Shaun King
"You're going to hear me say this. A Lot. Here on the PODCAST. It's it's a hard lesson that I've learned after years and years of standing with so many families and fighting for justice so many times the only justice will ever get his the justice. We fight for as you already know. They had no intention on arresting anybody in the murder of a motte. Aubrey Not Travis. Mcmichael Gregory McMichael. In fact Gregory and Travis McMichael. They had moved on they. They were being seen all over town at the grocery store and the family of Ahmad was forced to see them casually everywhere. I mean that case was in effect basically closed it had been passed around like a hot potato from county to county. Da To da and the DA. They gave it to had no intention on ever making these arrests. It was not until we got involved in made this a national issue until millions of people filled out the petition and hundreds of thousands of you made phone calls that they then quickly made the arrest. The arrest is should have been made from the beginning. Now we know that not only will we have to do the same thing for William. Roddy Brian? But we're GONNA have to continue to fight from here until these men are convicted. The moment we let up the moment we stop putting pressure on them. The moment people in power in Georgia get the impression that we're not on them in on this case they're gonNa let up and drop the ball. They need to understand how invested we are how frustrated and angry we are and we have to continue to put the pressure on them that they deserve over the past. Forty eight hours. I've gotten several new very insightful. Bits of information and there is something I have to say. That is burning me up about this because we are finding residents of Sa- Tila shores. The neighborhood where Ahmad Aubrey was killed in Brunswick Georgia who say nobody ever talked to them. Not Police not prosecutors not the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. Nobody and that is alarming. I'm talking about people who were literally a home away from where Ahmad was killed people whose home was really twenty feet thirty feet away. From where MoD was killed Salah. Nobody ever spoke to us. What will now that we are speaking to residents. We're starting to understand what was really going on. Because he was the question that I had and and and have continued to have over the past month. How did everybody know that Ahmad was jogging through the neighborhood? How did the whole neighborhood? No Gregory Travis McMichael. They don't live next door to William Roddy Bryan. Out of William Righty Brian. Though how did Gregory and Travis Mcmichael how did they know who he was where he was? Who TOLD THEM? How did people all throughout the neighborhood? We now see and hear a nine one one call. That's not from William Righty Brian. That's not from a gregory or Travis McMichael but from another person at another part of the neighborhood. How how did they all know? Well we now have that information inside of Tiller shores the neighborhood. They had a private facebook group that they were basically using like a an armed militia and in that facebook group. We now have screen shots of other post from previous months of residents of Tila shores. Saying that if they ever saw somebody that didn't belong in their neighborhood and got the impression that they were committing crimes. They were GONNA kill them. There was a man who posted Ah Post on there. Basically saying if the wrong person comes through here I'm killing them and nobody was like hold on. That's crazy. They would just a minute. They all agree and what we now know. Is that on February. Twenty third on that fateful Sunday afternoon that residents of the entire neighborhood. We're texting each other about Ahmad posting about Ahmad calling each other about Ahmad frantically so much so that Travis Gregory McMichael got their hand guns and shotguns. That William Ready. Brian got in his car. And what we hear appears to be him cocking a gun. Of course he denies it because that's what he needs to do but we hear it other gun. Experts have heard it and also say that's exactly what it is and other neighbors also began coming out of their homes right away because they were texting calling and messaging each other through facebook through text messages through phone calls that they needed to confront Ahmad Aubrey. Then William Roddy. Brian got in his car. William and Travis McMichael got in their car at first I mean Gregory and Travis. Mcmichael got in their truck ended. I Gregory McMichael was sitting front. Then he decides get in the back so that he can move and aim his gun properly. Do you hear what I'm saying? They planned on a shooting going down. They planned on it. Not only that but we have just been contacted by former classmates of Travis McMichael. Who said that? He was an open bigot and open racist who deleted any trace of his social media so that it would not come back to him in this case. They said he was obsessed with his racism and bigotry and that the moment they learned that it was him who shot and killed him on that. Not a single person who ever knew Travis McMichael would see that and be the least bit surprised. In fact one person told us they were surprised that it had not happened sooner but he was an open racist and open big. This was their moment where the neighborhood basically collapsed on a MoD. He runs through. They WANNA make Ahmad out to be a criminal but let me remind you the owner of the home that had no doors and no windows that Ahmad went in and came back out of has already openly said that Ahmad took nothing did nothing and cause no harm and that he had no problem with the owner of that home has openly said he did not in would not want the McMichael's a William. Righty Brian Acting as some type of armed Melissa that they did that on their own. So here we are what men that we now know racist. Open bigots getting their guns in tracking a Ma. Not For thirty seconds. Not for a minute. Not For ninety seconds two minutes or three minutes or four minutes but nearly five minutes they tracked and chased Ahmad all through that neighborhood and it appears that Ahmad may have even been almost exhausted by the time that he finally got to Gregory. And Travis McMichael Traffic Michael Walks around to the front of the truck and shoots Ahmad the first time the first shot went into a monster chess. So MoD was mortally wounded from the very beginning and at that point modest just going to have to fight for his life but he is critically injured. Would a shotgun blast to his chest? We hear on the Audio Gregory McMichael. The father telling his son to shoot amount and so here. We have this new information. But William Roddy. Brian is still free roaming all over social media and the news media being interviewed by anybody who's willing to talk to him but not answering any tough questions about how he knew that Ahmad was in the neighborhood and what he planned to do pretending if he's a good citizen. I need to remind you that he didn't release this video. Someone else did not his attorney. But people connected to the McMichael's in fact the attorney for Gregory Michael. Says he was actually Gregory McMichael. Who released the video? We will see all I know. Is that the man who participated with Gregory and Travis. Michael who are in jail right now. The man who participated in this confrontation in boxing in of Ahmad is still free. He wasn't there as a good Samaritan he wasn't. There is a good citizen. "Black Geogra- was shot and killed by this father and son in Brunswick. Georgia has exploded, and it's interesting just to have another story out there i. mean just to have something is grabbing headlines. That's on the top of all the news websites that's not related to Covid Nineteen, just legitimately a completely different story that has people all fired up and ready to. To Go, but we knew very little about this and I I've seen a couple tidbits about somebody being shot in a neighborhood in Georgia and then everything changed when that video leaked out, and the video was not released intentionally as far as I can tell, it looks like somebody just got a hold of this and leaked it out to the press, and it was about a thirty second video on this video. Video you see a truck driving? That's the person that's filming and there's another truck in the road that blocks off the road for this jogger. And these two people got guns, and it looks like it's out of like the eighteen hundreds or something for God's sake minus distrusting. Yeah, just very very very weird to see this happening. Then there's an altercation and then this guy gets killed. He ends up getting shot. Shot and killed by this father and son duo, but we didn't know what the hell led to all of this now. As of last night, there have been arrests so after the pressure from the public. After everybody reacting to that video, there have been arrest of Gregory. McMichael is sixty four year old man. That's the father and Travis McMichael The thirty four year old son. Those two were arrested on Thursday night. On murder, they were arrested for murder charges count. I don't know if they did. Let me see what they say. This Georgia Bureau of Investigation Gb I got involved, and they just hauled ass and pulled up to this House and Yanked these folks out and arrested them. It doesn't say just says arrested for murder in what I'm seeing now. initially, they had not been arrested. There was a lot of stuff going on, and you gotta remember beyond. Beyond the racial implications here there's other stuff going on to a lot of tossing around the phrase. Good old boys, because this used to be high up in law enforcement in this town, and then when you investigate one of your own, it just so happens that you find them not guilty of anything or not worthy of charges. It does a charges of murder and aggravated assault. That sort of. Then, they find some stuff, though like digging past post on facebook from these guys artists. You know anything about that that biggest. Obviously it's been word of mouth. Can't haven't seen it myself, but I'll see if I can find. I heard nothing about that I. did hear that they they knew who this guy was. They had some previous run in with him. They didn't say exactly when that was, but both the father and son had been arrested really for a while, they were saying. We're waiting on a grand jury. Grand Juries aren't in session because of what's happening with the covid nineteen and here we are, so they finally did something so I've got the information, and that's what's most important. This is the incident report when this happened. It says on Sunday February Twenty, third, twenty, twenty I responded to the intersection as to Tiller. Driving homes drive in reference to shots fired while in route I was advised there were shots fired a male on the ground quote bleeding. On, quote a short time later I was advised. The Mail on the ground was deceased upon my arrival I observed officer Minhsiu setting up a perimeter I began speaking with Gregory McMichael who was a witness to the incident, but Michael stated there have been several break ins in the neighborhood, and the suspect was caught on surveillance video, and what are these incidents? McMichael stated he was in his yard and saw the suspect from the break. INS quote hauling ass. Unquote down until the drive toward Buford drag. McMichael stated Iran. Iran inside his house called Travis his son and said Travis. The guy is running down the street. Let's go McMichael. Stated he went to his bedroom and grabbed his three fifty seven. You know because that's what you do right? We've got a guy out here. Let's get the gun and chase him down instead of calling the actual police. You're not up by an officer of the law anymore. So grabbed his three fifty seven magnum and Travis grabbed his shotgun because they didn't know if the mail was armed or not. Medical stated the other night they saw the same male, and he stuck his hand down his pants, which led them to believe she was armed. Fixing his testicles like all guys do well. This is what they're suggesting like. Okay, here's our reasoning for having the guns and chasing after alumnae, really the raising reasoning for having the guns and chasing after the guy was because you wanted vigilante justice, because racist pieces of crap that will because. Thought, this guy was the guy had robbed other places in the neighborhood. Now checking on that, too, because that's that's what they keep running with rob multiple place in the neighborhood. There was only one reported robbery in the neighborhood in this past well in twenty twenty. In this particular area then there was another guy who said he got a bunch of fishing equipment and stuff stolen, but he didn't report it to the police. So that's that's what supposedly happening in the neighborhood, so it can continue. Let me just get through this real quick 'cause. There's not too much more McMichael Michael stated. He and Travis gotten the truck so now the fathering center in the truck, driving down the road after this, this guy who was jogging his blackout McMichael stated that when he arrived at the intersection, they saw the unidentified male running down Buford drive McMichael then stated Travis drive drove down Buford at. At, attempted to cut off the mail cutting him off in the road now he is really legally able to defend himself. If something happens McMichael state of the unidentified male turned around, and began running back the direction from which came the attempted to block them, but were unsuccessful. They said he jumped into the bed of the truck. And he and Travis continued after this guy. So this keeps running away from you over and over and over and over again you them off here. You Chase them down here. He keeps running away from you and you keep chasing him down, so you know what you're getting yourself into..

"That father and son who murdered Ahmad armory there's video to show it have been arrested Travis McMichael and his father Greg McMichael both arrested yesterday somebody pointed something out about that video that just horrific video that shows him being shot and killed the moment that doomed the guy who did the shooting I think was the father of whom is actually did the the shot yeah Obree it was that he didn't turn around and look back shoots in that final shot if you've seen the video you can see it Akhmed then takes a couple of steps and collapses and the guy never turns around looks at him like oh my god what just happened right I just do right what what have I done I just took a man's life right there's no at least on the radio livor there's no indication while United that didn't occur to me when I saw that he knew that that was the fatal shot wow and that does that mean those guys plus this it turns out that the the guy who was a DA investigator the father of the father and son duo was the DA's office investigator for sometime and I'm assuming in Georgia that still means what it what it would mean here in in California is a sworn peace officers sworn law enforcement officer and that he had dealt with that kid before when he was a high school student and then some other case later on so I don't know if there was enough for him to recognize Akhmed armory as he ran down the street like he knew who that was or if it was just that that could match the description of a burglar suspect burglary suspect in the area yeah all right well it looks like Hollywood as the LA times put it has been preparing us for this moment for decades they talk about all of the movies slight gap Pacific liner from nineteen thirty nine about the chaos that ensues when a cholera infected man stows away on a cruise ship bound for San Francisco that sounds familiar doesn't it as the disease spreads among the working man in the boiler room the paying passengers party on as usual tough guy refuses to believe that anything that he can't see can't hurt him by the time the doctor is proven right it is almost too late so in other words all of these debates that were having they've been having since nineteen thirty nine well it isn't a part part of the story telling like this is that we want to see who's going to emerge as the sort of unknown hero or the the unexpected hero in a story like this we see it play out in regular everyday life I mean the the people that we would take for granted doctors and nurses paramedics first responders are being considered the heroes for deep you know rushing headlong into this end of this pandemic to take care of other people in nineteen seventy one audiences went to see the Andromeda strain Andromeda Andromeda skews me an adaptation of a panicked citizenry and the armed government officials who stand ready to use extreme measures to terminate an outbreak at its source of course George Romero from night of the Living Dead and dawn of Come by the way for tailgate party and get ready for some football with ninety two ninety game. But thirty five going on thirty six a window is closing. And we're starting that conversation ever so slightly in some people have been hitting the gas a little bit harder than others. But ever so slightly. We've been having that conversation about where he ranks on the all time greats. Drew Brees looks like that team could win the Super Bowl. This year will be a second. Hell he hasn't even won an MVP Tom Brady. He's got five means been how many different times nobody's questioning his legacy. Now, even though Aaron Rodgers has won a Super Bowl and that team completely hits the deck anytime he's not on the field. There have been people. Well, Ben one too. Where's Aaron been? There's pressure now earned doesn't have a whole lot of time. The injuries have started to mount over the last couple of years the seriousness of those injuries have begun to mount over the last couple of years. And now they are finding themselves in a very difficult position. Where the draft hasn't been terrible. But it hasn't been overwhelmingly great. That's why they've made their changes, and they like their general manager that they have now it hasn't been terrible. It hasn't been overwhelming. But now remember clay Matthews is in his tenth year. They're starting to bring in guys were a little bit younger. There is a change that's being made with the Green Bay Packers. And now Aaron Rodgers looks around the NFL and don't think for a moment. He doesn't see Eli manning in the change at the New York Giants are going through our ally. Manning just doesn't have the stuff any more of what it takes to be a franchise elite quarterback in the NFL can't make it through that change. Russell Wilson on the other hand has youth on his side. Now has that experience? And he's keeping Seattle's heads above water while. They go through the cycle of trying to change out the talent that's going to be around him. And then take that team to the next level even possibly changing their their head coach because Carol is a pretty old, man. Aaron Rogers sees these examples makes them nervous. There's not a lot of time. But for his legacy for how close that team has gotten for the Packers fans for his own wellbeing. The pressure is absolutely insurmountable. And so there's that mutual respect NFL game day. Well, those words killer instincts, and that's where the great teams great players they develop that. And it's not something that has has to be said, we know we have an offense that can go out there and put on points. We know we have a defense that can shut you out at any moment. To protect homefield at Soldier Field in the crowd and everybody being their use that to our advantage. A good team. And a really good quarterback. I'm going to our house. Protect our our been. NFL game day with Fred Hubner. Steve mongo McMichael. ESPN one thousand and ESPN Chicago dot com. Exciting. Those people would patriots jerseys walking by. I just raspberry. Yes. You did does about five or six guys are patriots jerseys walking by welcome John in Chicago's NFL game day you heard from. Moore you heard. Yeah. The evil empire. Yes. They're in town all over the place. I heard from Matt Nagy Mitchell Trubisky and Akim Hicks is a head up to one of the bigger games of this Sunday in the National Football League. Obviously a huge game for the bears after they go to Miami and lose the Brock Osweiler and overtime. One of those. Learn to this is a game that going to speak where this franchise and going. It'll win would help a loss doesn't necessarily hurt him. All that bad. It's not. I mean, there's still I was so away. If this was is third year. Right. It would be a defining game. But yeah, this brand new system. We'll see. Yeah. Well, you know, what there's points all over the place the bears had an opportunity and Steve Martin McMichael me. I'm Fred Hubner. We'll be here till noon leading up to the bears and of the patriots Donald along the lakefront, it's nice the bears fans get a game to be excited about you know, finally cargo game where you get Tom Brady coming to town. The patriots are four and two. They are oh into other road. They've not one of the road yet. I don't know if that's good or bad but around the road, and that's a good thing. You just said, well, you would hope sometimes they just say, well, they lost two in a row. On the road there due to get a victory now. My dad always used say the law of averages is that eventually things will turn negative thinker was well, that's where I got it. I got it. Yeah. There's no doubt. Blah. There's no. Well, that's that's the question is the glass half full the bears with a really an awful loss last week not because it was Brock Osweiler necessarily. But because they gave up and I wrote it down five hundred forty one yards to the Miami Dolphins last week. Steve you give them a five hundred and forty one yards. You don't deserve to win a game or didn't speak. We've got a good defense. You just one game sample size. Does it backup quarterback? Yes. Five hundred yards can keep the lead. Sounds like oh FOX's team to me. Three hundred eighty six yards twenty four points after halftime. I mean, I don't know what was said at halftime. But something you know, what happened at halftime? They went into air conditioning the locker room and melted. Did you see? I mean, you you've played down there. But when you guys played down there was the evening, but you know. Tampa Bay's the same rate, right baby. And good Lord. It would be hot. Did you see how the the way that? They built the rebuilt the stadium and fixed the stadium down there which used to be Joe Robbie now it's hard rock stadium that the mind dolphins were in the shade. And the bears were in the sun. And they actually had to have guys holding things over that are big piece of cardboard. Right to keep them in the shade. A little bit. I'll just hang out in the old tent where they check them out for injury. Yeah. Fan going do something Torri colon actually said after the game out his phone Bill, which was a huge fumble midfield. He gained a nice and had a nice gain in any fumbles the ball. He said that he actually let the heat get to him. He said he wasn't good enough. He said he wasn't thinking enough on hold onto the ball. He was worried about sweating and. Yeah, I'm sure they did it was it was a really hot day. I couldn't believe the Matt Nagy was wearing long sleeves. Long sleeves and adviser. Well, that's superstition Higuera the same thing. Yeah. That's what I'm if he's going to be that superstitious while they're held it. He let them come out in the tomorrow jerseys. I don't think thing going, and you go change it up. Are you wouldn't you think the orange was probably would have been better in that heat than the dark? No. It's just like twenty below. You can't put on enough clothes. Yeah. I don't care. What color you got? Dan, is that humidity you're running through like a wall? Yeah. Will you sit there and it's like a blow dryer? Just going on constantly the whole the whole game. And you know, the Byrd had taken a lead twenty eight twenty one thought good things are happening there were some questionable calls questionable plays. We'll talk about those here in the first half hour. Jeff Dickerson will join us at nine thirty. He's out at Soldier Field. Mongo's man ups at ten thirty Ben Volen from the Boston globe's in town. He'll join us at eleven we'll do. Just raspberry. Who are NFC north preview at around eleven thirty and eleven forty five before right here. We'll give you predictions. We also got to squeeze in here somewhere. You're coz keys to the game. Maybe maybe ten forty five or something. Like that squeezing your coz keys. His biggest key last week was the heat. Yeah. He was right. He was exactly right. Yeah. They they definitely will today lose overtime. And it's funny because Bill Belichick talking about the Chicago Bears this week ballot. Check said he said you look at him. He goes, I look at them. Basically as a as a five hundred team was over a couple of plays the interception that fuller doesn't make and then losing to Miami and overtime or there was that close to me. Live team. I would say three place. You know, the one up in Green Bay not intercept in the ball there at the games over and throw an interception in the end zone and fumbling on the one. Yeah. Holy cow. You can't fumble you can't fumble anywhere. But fumbling yard line going in for the score. But look according to the record that's the glass half, full baby. Yeah. Well, there's teams on the up eight aren't they? Yeah. They are. I take heart Chicago. I gotta give I gotta give a guy some props that we've been. I don't know you want to say we've been hard on him because he's a. He's a tad overweight. My doubt he probably made a play. He recovered that one. But it was because he was so tired. He was just standing there. Well, he reached out for the ball. And he got all he was standing there. Tired in the ball was writing his feet Audet do with fall down left. At pro pro football, focus has the best three interior defenders in the NFL. So far this season, Aaron Donald Fletcher, Cox and akiem Hicks. They listed as one of the top. Yeah. He's on the field. Good. Yeah. They make a play on the sideline tired. That's right. And that's all as we've been saying throughout the course of the season. Pro football focus, also their pass rush rankings by teams. They got the eagles won the Rams to and the bears. Number three. It's it's interesting to bears. Don't blitz a lot. And today is not a data blitz. Because Tom Brady's not the guy. You wanna blitz? Look how many sex bears have last week as many as you and me had zero. Yeah. Now, I wonder who man ups. Uh-huh. We'll get to those ten thirty. There were a lot of things in last week's game. All I wanted to touch base with you on because one of them is is something that you look at it. And I saw it and I thought it was bad play. And then I said, well, I'm white watching halftime. But I see a hall of Famer how long said, well, it wasn't that bad of a play. What else could he do give it a listen. This was in the first half of the bears game against the dolphins. This is Leonard Floyd trying. To tackle a Miami receiver. Is.

"And thanks for your call Hi good morning and then found pleasure to talk to you again I had. To play game too long ago and I really. Appreciate all. You can. Do, for all. The gentlemen in the world helping out the. PSA, and making sure everything's good everybody's phosphate thank you All right I have a question for, Mr. Chambliss I it's been an honor to talk. To you. I'm a Unfortunately now, brave fan I fall down after being with. The Yankees My name is del Murphy, was, the honor, to meet him I just wanted to know You have. Good feelings still being with the people Atlanta I know it's. Hard to leave back then I know after firm has you. Know things that will not Yeah you know, I played for three teams you know I've played for Cleveland Indians before both of those teams but I live in Atlanta area so part, of Gray's alumni Braves alumni is very well. Organized now by a picture that would, know his name is Michael Greg McMichael relief pitcher for the so the Braves and he has now ahead of raise. Alumni so he has got us by us. Meaning the former Braves, that live around the area and and. Really. Around the nation going to a lot. Of events so I do a lot of Braves alumni and, then. Of course the Yankees are keeping me very busy also, I go to New York. A lot so those two teams. Has kept me pretty busy after retirement you you spent seven years down in. Atlanta with the Braves, talk? About the bomb squad people may forget the bomb squad I think it was thousand. Nine hundred eighty six and it was a. You Ted Simmons Billy sample right what a what a lesson In Yeah No not. Not playing every. Day you, know I I played every day most of my, career? Right Ted Simmons was was the leader of the bomb squad and and what what would it really, was was a, group of guys who had been very, similar to me with played most every day their their, career and we were some of us I I. Was probably the though the integral dole this guys but we were just not playing every day anymore and and but we, had to learn how to come, off the bench and and and. And really perform off the bench which is just as you know is not very easy to do and so Ted organize the group and and he made it fun for us. To. Be ready to help, the team out? Whenever, we can. Be great to. Be it, and everything so so he named us he made shirts It was so much we really we really had a fun because it's easier to, be really down and and and, and you know downtrodden and feeling. All bad feeling sorry for yourself go yeah playing their day anymore and Ted make pay made that just the just a ball we had a we have fun those t t. Shirts we had the bomber. Hats shirts and And so it was the famous. Bomb squad that, was, the, last year of my. Career right results the result of it now I want to. Say that the, I start I. Stopped playing every day. Really mainly like eighty four eighty five I like to thirty years off the bench I wouldn't. Play good at all then eighty six we? Had the bomb squad it, turned, out that I was like a leader in pinch. Hits. In the, league I I, was, I was getting clutches all the time really because of of kids work and, what, about the bench on the ninety, eight club with Darrell strawberry Tim Raines. And chili Davis not to teach. Those guys. Exactly I mean just that wow hazing and and and for those guys come over there, and take on that role they, they didn't have the bomb squad but they. Really have that same attitude they knew how to be ready they were they were really appreciative of of, the, group that I just mentioned the all they do, those guys could. Play every day and so they wanted to. Back them up and so whenever the job came to. Pinch it or just. A start every once a week or something they you know they were ready to get it done I would think In your additional work as a hitting coach at Seattle Cincinnati. Saint, Louis the Mets you always in your mind were thinking back to nine hundred ninety. Eight and how icon EQ that team became? Yeah yeah I really was, like, I said when you're when you're trying to teach. Team. Hitting you, know you wanna, you, when you're scoring runs it's more than just you know we've got a couple, of, guys driving one hundred runs to, get forty one runs but but when. You're when you're talking about a. Whole team. Concept you know that's that's that's the groups that I referred to and and they they, made they made it easy for, me I mean it was they they go. In the cage they get their work done and and I'm just telling you they didn't if they needed, they, put the ball better than a ball they could. Do it right It wasn't it wasn't striking out a bunch of times and and just. Just, a. Controlled aggression is, really what we, call it 'cause a lot of people want people, to take, walks you know by taking pitches and, you know seeing so, many pitches, per bad that kind of thing it really wasn't like that every pitched up it's, throwing down the middle was had an aggressive swing at it and, and but, at, the. Same time they knew the strike zone and and and it was. Throwing bad pitcher's throwing dirt over. Their head, you know they, would be very disciplined and. Take those walks when they could Chris got a lot of calls for you I would, like to ask you if you could please. Stay and take the calls Yeah Chris Chambliss is with us a beloved here. In New, York not an exaggeration we welcome your phone calls for him on. The toll free at eight seven seven three. Three seven sixty six sixty six back with him and me right after Dave's.
