"They're not going to insert a full back or someone in between the quarterback and CJ Stroud went in rhythm is arguably the best quarterback in the country. But he is not great moving out of the pocket. He's not great on the run. He doesn't run, which is one of the most annoying things to Buckeye fans because he is just, he is, he is good when everything is copacetic. And when things are disruptive, he's still a very good player, but he's not the elite guy. So I think that was one big takeaway. The other was a lot of opposing coaches really thought keighley Ringo, the Georgia corner, was really vulnerable. He's been targeted 23 times in the last two games. And there's a sense that he's a guy you can pick on. Now he's very athletic and he's big and he can win at the line of scrimmage. He doesn't have great ball skills and he doesn't track the ball very well. He's a guy who can run fast, but struggles with change of direction and start and stop. So I really feel like that was something and scouts, although they love his prototype and they love his speed, they don't love his skill. So that was not an area going into my phone calls that I expected people to call out clearly Ringo, who, you know, Mel Kuiper, I believe, has the top corner in the upcoming draft. As a potential weakness. And it'll be interesting to see who Georgia uses on Marvin Harrison junior now. I am the captain of the Marvin Harrison junior fan club as a talent. I've had multiple coaches say to me this week that Marvin Harrison junior is one of the most talented receivers they've ever faced in their entire career. I had two veteran coaches tell me that they compared mckelvin Johnson. They went back far enough, you know, 15 plus years ago in time. Yeah. He is not as physically imposing as Calvin Johnson because few are, but there's Ryan day had a good line yesterday. He said, RJ day his son did not was not given the same gifts at birth that Marvin Harrison junior was. And so I really feel like the path to victory for Ohio State is going to be the same path to victory we saw here when Alabama beat Georgia last year. You have to hit them on chunk plays and go over the top. Ohio State is not equipped to win a dink dunk methodical grinded out 12 paid drive game. They are going to have to hit the equivalent of Jameson Williams shooting down the middle of the field. They're going to have to win that type of a game. And they do have the talent to do it between Harrison junior and Mecca and buka. They are talented in their quarterback when things are calm around him, is certainly capable of hitting those passes. Quickly, on the other game, it is the other game, at least while you sit in Atlanta, what did you take away from all the people you talked to? You know, TCU's defense. I think we'll know in the first two series if TCU can hang with Michigan. You remember last year, Alabama played Cincinnati which had a three three 5 defense and this is, I'm not going to have it specifically write a memory, but Alabama, I think ran the ball, 11 of the first 12 plays. It was Bill O'Brien looked at that three three 5 and said, all right, stop it. Stop it. So there's a sense. Now, Michigan isn't a team that's going to score points and bunches or jump out on you. They're very comfortable being methodical. But they are going to say, okay, and even JJ McCarthy said it in his interview yesterday. He said, we're going to take the Big Ten to the big 12. So if they can push TCU off the ball, a scout told me this, it was interesting. They have one player in their front 7 who is an NFL prototype paradigm as a prospect. They have a defensive end name Dylan Horton. So they have very good players. They have a very fast defense. They have an unconventional defense that's going to bring players from different angles and maybe confuse them. But they don't have large humans. Michigan has the Joe more award winning offensive line that may not have the best individual talent. I think Georgia and Ohio State probably have more individual talent on their own line, but it is by far and away the most synchronized in working together. So they're going to run inside zone. They're going to run inside zone again, and they're going to run inside zone again. Now they don't have Blake quorum. Look like corn is the best player on their roster. Period hands down. The most productive player. So they're obviously going to rely on Donovan Edwards and some younger players in that, but Michigan is not going to change who they are. They are defiant in who they are. And if they can go down the field methodically and TCU early in the game, it's going to be a bad sign for the horn frogs. Who, by the way, have fallen behind in almost every game and figure out a way to come back. So I'm not writing off TCU, but stylistically there's a very clear path for Michigan to establish themselves in this game. Fantastic stuff and you can read all that on the ESPN dot com Pete. "Store for today? Well, preview it next. Loosen up those joints and muscles. It's time for your 7 45 stretch. Peter schlereth and Evans with a biggest story in Denver sports. Well, the biggest story today is to cut day. Uh, for the Denver Broncos. And we await to see what they end up doing. And a lot of debate yesterday about a guy like mckelvin a gene. Who really bawled out in the final preseason game, and I heard the argument posed why have these games, if you're not going to take what a guy does like that and it'd be enough to make the team. How do you weigh that balance between, hey, this guy really, really. He was arguably our best player in that preseason game. How do you weigh that versus all the other stuff that you've been evaluating this guy on for the last several months? Well, I think, I mean, I think you have to look at the totality of the work, right? And say, hey man, I need consistency. I think one of the things that people don't really understand, like fans don't really understand, is flash in the pan, like that lack of consistency of flashing the pan will eventually get you fired as a coaching staff. The guy needs somebody who is going to show up every day who's going to work the same every day who's going to make plays because those guys, you know what those guys are going to do, they're flash every now and again, but if they're consistent, what you can have is a dude that just gets trucked in practice. A guy that just makes mistake after mistake. And then all of a sudden, he has one game where it looks like the lights go off. It more comes down to Mike as we need to not lose games. That will go back to drew lock, not to bash on drew lock. You love bashing on drew. Go ahead. I'm not going to bash. This is not, but this is lynch's sitting back right now going, wow, you're harsh. Right? The point being is that, yeah, you see one big play. Yeah, you see, you know, you see a big throw. Yeah, he's all arm talent and what if, but then what you don't see is, hey, you missed the blitz pickup. Hey, you got flushed out of a pocket where we had somebody to pick that guy up. And hey, you ended up throwing an interception because you didn't understand the coverage. Those things get you, those things cost you football games. And so yeah, we had the one big game and that opens your eyes and you sit there and say, as a coach, you did. This is what's hard. Man, that was awesome. Why can't we get that out of them every day? But what if it's a ha moment? What if it's okay? He figured it out. And now he's, he's ready to roll. This kind of performance is his breakthrough moment. Yeah, and what if he was just playing against a guy that had no idea what the other side? That's what I'm saying. I think that's the other thing you look at, hey, against the teamwork against Dallas or against us, he just hasn't been that exceptional. So is that just the one matchup where he was going to be here's the good news for him is he was a third round draft choice. That's a guy you expect to at the very least make your team and be a rotational player. Somebody that you can count on if you're going to invest a third round pick, that's where your team, let's face it. That's where your teams are built. Second, third, fourth round, 5th round, even. The first rounders, they come with a, they come with a hit or miss proposition to a degree. Because the expectations are really high. And you get a 6 or 7th round and makes your team, man. I mean, even today, Terrell Davis, 6th rounder, who almost walked away from a game in Japan, made one special teams hit. Now he's in the Hall of Fame. It's the great story. It's just even more proof that we just do not need we didn't need four preseason games. We don't need three preseason games. Listening to Chad Brown talk about it, how they talk to George Peyton during the course of the broadcast and George is out there saying basically we've already made up our minds. So if they've already made up their minds, going into the third preseason game, which you've already shortened the preseason, then let's just do away with it and get it down to two preseason games or even I know they'll never get rid of the preseason games because it is a chance to make money. But even Greg penner, Greg penner, who's been owning or running the Broncos for 5 minutes, he was asked what he's learned and his observations of owning an NFL team over the last few weeks. He said, well, the preseason does drag on a little bit. Guys, a novice to the whole football thing and he can even recognize right away. Wow, this drags on a little bit. Right. But this crypto. Joint practices, fine, have a couple of preseason games, but two preseason weeks, 18 regular season games. Let's just, let's go. And that may happen because it's all money in tradeoff, right? And the big thing that you have to understand, and I'm not talking about the Broncos because we've got big pockets as our owner. So, I mean, we're in great shape there. But there are a lot of franchises since the ads of the world, they don't operate that way. Their ownership doesn't have that kind of money, right? They're not multi billionaires over and over. So they do rely on the pre season to make money as an organization. And what you have to understand about the preseason is, hey, if you're a season ticket holder, you have to buy the preseason tickets. Those are the same, the Gates, the same, the parking is the same, the concessions are the same, that you know it's not the same. How much money goes out the door. You're not paying players. I think this is a great time to remind everyone. Right. NFL players, they get a per diem during the course of a thousand bucks a week or so. Veterans get, I think what I read was veterans get about $400 a day. And rookies, first, second year guys get 225 bucks a day. Yeah, so you're making it's 400 bucks a day. You're making 2028, whatever it is, right? Let's call it, let's call it 2000 bucks a week now. So instead of paying Aaron Rodgers, one 17th of 50 million. Right, right. You're paying them $2000 for the week, right?

"Are you going to be okay, James? You know what? I actually think it's good news for the Broncos. I think look, I don't think drew lock was going to have a great year for the Seahawks if he'd have been named the starter. But was there a part of me? Maybe I'm a little bit of a fatalist that looked at it and said, you know what? He's going to have one great game all year and it's going to be that night. He's going to come out and he's going to throw for 300 yards and three touchdowns and we're just going to have to deal with that. So the fact that that's not an option now, I think is good news for the Broncos. I think you know what you're going to get out of Geno Smith and I don't think there's any chance that Gino Smith is going to carve up the Broncos. So it's certainly good news for Denver heading into that game. It is the worst possible time for the Broncos to play Seattle. So it was any other week, but week one, that game would be easier, but the fact that it's Gino Smith is good news. And look, at this point, you know, it's a little bit like it was with Paxton, right? Like you can blame the situation here and I do think those criticisms of pat Shermer and Vic Fangio and sort of the situation in terms of developing the quarterback. I think those are fair of what went on in Denver. I don't think I don't think drew had everything go his direction, but at some point when you move on and you continue to fail, it becomes a you problem, not a situation problem and it's certainly looking more and more that way for drew lock his performance against the cowboys in the third preseason game. You can't defend that kind of thing. So he has nobody to blame but himself at this point. So we got this text and it says, why do you always baby James when he is wrong instead of making him accountable for his asinine cakes, make him eat crow like everyone else? He needs to know how dumb his passion for drew lock really is. So let's just put maybe the final word on drew lock is, is this it? Did he, he's had two opportunities to win a competition he's lost both. Is he now entering the world of career backup? Probably, but it's funny, Mike. I'm pigeonholed, is this true locks fan? Like all I've ever done is not pile on the guy, right? And said that, hey, I think he's got some talent. I don't think he was properly tutored and mentored by Vic Fangio and pat Shermer, two people who everybody in town ripped, so it's like, okay, well if Vic Fangio was a terrible head coach which he was and pat tremor is a terrible offensive coordinator which he was, it stands to reason that they weren't good for drew lock, which is the argument I've made. And I've always said that he was a better option than teddy Bridgewater. I'd rather go 5 and 12 with a young quarterback than this strive for 8 and 9. Maybe we can get to 9 and 8 with a mediocre quarterback that is taking you nowhere. It's an HOV lane to nowhere. So that was always my stance. I did think Seattle was smarter than that. It wouldn't go that direction, but the ability for NFL teams to continue to strive to get to mediocrity never ceases to amaze me and hear the Seahawks are doing it too. Like, what is the point of going with Geno Smith? Where are you going with Geno Smith? It may be 8 9, maybe 9 or 8 at best. So to me, it's a ceiling issue of drew lock, you're either gonna go 5 and 12, most likely, or he may turn out to be a good quarterback and you're a playoff caliber team. Maybe I don't think it's likely, but maybe, but at least there's an upside going with a quarterback like teddy Bridgewater, Gino Smith, Trevor Simeon, the guys that NFL head coaches continue to go with. It's mind boggling to me, but we're seeing it again in Seattle. So, you know, I guess like you need crow because of what? I didn't just pile on drew lock and say he's the worst quarterback of all time. I still think the kid has some talent, but at this point is he probably an NFL backup? Yeah, that's probably what he is. All right, we accept your apology, James. It was a lot of I doth protest too much right there. All right. Hey. Real quick. As they get the final cut down day, it feels like forever, two weeks before the first game kicks off, which is crazy to me. But as they get the final cut down day, you expect, is there anybody you're looking at like a surprise cut or anything that you think might go down that I'll say that surprise cut and who's your backup quarterback? Well, my backup quarterback will go to first order is Josh Jonathan. I thought, you know, Bret rippon played fine, but I don't think he did anything that made me say, oh, that's the guy I really want to go with if you have to go three or four games without Russell Wilson. So I would go Josh Johnson, I think he's a better, I think he's a better player. I think he just brings more to the table. He's more dynamic. He throws the ball downfield instead of short of the sticks all the time, so. But James Brett rippin is 26, Josh Johnson's 36. You gotta go with the younger guy. Nope, not a just not in this case. Not when it comes to the backup. I want a guy that can keep it on the tracks. I will say this in terms of surprise cut. And he didn't play in the finale. And Nathaniel and I could joked about it in his press conference afterward of. He's old, so we gave him the night off. But if preseason games mean anything, if they mean anything, McDonald regime should make the team. He was great on Saturday night, and we've never seen in a practice and a preseason game in a regular season game. That kind of performance from Mike Purcell. We just haven't. And I get it. He's played that regime was playing against backups, but he was really, really good on Saturday night. So going with youth over a veteran and going with a guy that's got more upside, if those games mean anything, if they're even paying attention to what they're watching on the field and on film. Kelvin regime should beat out someone like Mike Purcell, we'll see if something like that happens. But I think going into that game, maybe all 53 weren't set, but probably 48, 49 of them were. So I think he should make the team and I think Seth Williams should make it that play in the second half Kendall Hinton did. I think that's telling. "Yeah, that's that's kind of my gut based on and then see how he responds for Friday, right? Some conversations that were had today But tomorrow is gonna be the pivotal day for Brother Chip. I think no offense gonna play. But you know Bradley Chavez, that's the one. That's the gigantic question mark, and then I'll field stuff occurring it. It's just one extra headache on top of it. Also, how does this impact the game? I mean, Because we know Von Miller is good. He's full participant. Good to go. The the offensive tackles for the Giants, Andrew Thomas and Nate Solder, actually playing right tackle. So we know what Malik read is we know Malik read is a serviceable Spot starter. He's a good player is a guy you need on your team. In the event of either rotation or an injury. But it's certainly not the Von Miller Bradley Chubb Show that we've all been anxiously anticipating this entire off season. Is it right hands? Von Miller will be up against solder and Matt Peart on the right side there. Um, if I don't know, Perch plan or not, but he was the starter last year. Uh, soldier doesn't really have a lot like is not the same player he used to be, and as a mismatch in bonds favor On the other side, Andrew Thomas. That's where you need somebody who like a Bradley chill. I don't think Malik readers got enough power to be the guy to beat Andrew Thomas consistently. Andrew Thomas does not impress me. He didn't impress me coming out of the draft, and certainly last year in his first year, I thought he struggled. But you'd also say the entire offensive line struck. Their offensive line is bad. I think Shane Lemieux there was a serviceable left guard. Um, I would call him Die Adult Horizon. Er will Hernandez Hernandez is okay at the right guard. Their centers is Nick Gates, and he's not very good in his backup is Billy Price, who was terrible in Cincinnati. That's right. They do. Get Billy Price right? And so you know, you've got an offensive line. That's just not that good. Overall, it's a bottom six or seven offensive line in the league, which is great news for the Broncos, who, maybe even without Bradley Chubb have basically the full complement of defensive line back. Expectations of Draymond to be up expectations with Mike Purcell, along with Shelby Harris back at the defensive line. Plus again, you know, McKelvin a game had I mean, depending on if he's a healthy scratch or not, but he had a really nice off season training camp. So I mean, I think there's some reasons to be excited about the matchups here. It just feels like a bit of a letdown, not having Bradley Chubb out there and again. I'm not saying that he's not. I'm just saying that he's not going to 100%. I think we know that for certain and there may be limitations on how much they'll actually use them in game. Based on the fact that we're still at this point now in game week on Wednesday, and he still can't get a full practice. Yeah, I'm wondering if I'm gonna get to see a little bit of coop. I wonder if we're gonna get a little see. Let me go to Jonathan Cooper. Yeah. Um you know, I I He he put on a show in training camp, and I wonder if we're gonna get to see a little bit out of him. Platooning because I don't know Malik is more the other side. You know, Malik is better when when going up against the right tackle. That was where he made most of his living last year. And so I kind of think that they want to keep him over there inside. I wanted to ask that question. I didn't really get a chance to today because I want to practice But I didn't go to the pressers which were before right up after like they usually are. So my plan is to kind of slip that question in tomorrow. Certainly, and you're you're right. Tomorrow is going to be a pivotal day for for a lot of reasons, but specifically, those two players know if and being out in the field and I need an argument. It was it was that you were off, but I made an argument that Alberto Cohiba Nam might end up being the Broncos best. Tight end by the end of this season is a better blocker. He is he can be a complete receiver. The drops are something that we're gonna have to monitor. But no fan had drops to. We saw that even in training camp, so I made kind of the point of like, Hey, listen, If we're really having a conversation about this, I don't think it's outlandish. By the end of the year. We're saying that Alberto equipment I was actually the Broncos best tight end. It's awesome. It's possible. Um, it's possible. I wouldn't say it probable, but it's possible. No if no fans really worked on quite a bit to get himself worried, Super talented, he's just limited right now. It is certainly an on field weapon like Don't don't don't get an advantage tight and sets to see Oh, get out there, and that's a question. I want to get into a little bit later on because I got the right guy Ted win actually put in an article talking about the teams. They have the best. Uh they went, he went through. Hold on. Let me pull this up right now. He went through the best personnel groupings. And and how each team across the NFL Broncos showed up on this, By the way the best personnel groupings in the NFL. The Broncos showed up on this list. And I want to ask you a little bit later on specifically about that, Like what's the Broncos Best personnel grouping? I don't think it's an automatic 11 personnel even with Courtland Sutton, Jerry Judy, KJ Hamler and Tim Patrick. I don't know. If 11 is best suited for what this team wants to do, So I want to have that conversation with you a little later on, and I'll tell you where the Broncos showed up on this..

The teachers don't allow the teachers did their job teach us the curriculum science math biology etc. They didn't try to shop propaganda down our throats like now in the twenty first century we have social social justice warrior. So-called teachers are trying to shove the garbage ideology. Donald kids throw these our children not yours. Their job is not to raise my child or my neighbor's child. Their job is to teach our kids. Math science biology literature. And that's it not ideology. Now you want to push garbage craft pronouns. How the hell does i keep a kid from succeeding. How does that help them. The white populace has always been susceptible to manipulation around racial animus. Listen to the way this buffoon talks the white populace always susceptible to manipulation around racial animus. She doesn't know you. She talks in these bigoted platitudinous phrases and this is all she is. This is what she does. And it appeals to a lot of people particularly other bigots and racists. But you see you don't know a critical race theory is if you read my book you know beginning to end nuts and bolts and even quote her not extensively because she didn't invent it. She's made a fortune off of it go ahead. I assume you're aware of the southern strategy. This is the latest manifestation of it. The southern strategy another fiction created by the democrats and their marxist left friends the southern strategy latest in german. All of you part of a southern strategy about college and university strategies go ahead. It's perfect in a way you know. It's just vague enough that you can attached to it but what it comes down to and the reason that i am called a critical race theorists even though technically i am not a legal scholar. What it comes down to was at technically. I'm not a legal scholar. Critical race theorists. You don't have to be illegal scholar you know it and you go ahead. Let's that racism exists that it is real that the country is founded in it and that is infused. All of the country's been founded in liberty country was founded with the declaration of independence is not a word of racism in the declaration of independence none other than abraham lincoln who did more for black people in this country. Then you you clown could ever wish to do. Could ever wish to do engage his life ultimately he understood why the country was founded. He understood why he wanted to keep the union together. He embraced the declaration in the constitution. He embraced the founders. He explained it. But not you. You're hack go ahead going to be seen as critical race theory. So i am certainly in the midst of lake vaccine denial world but in a way i really do worry about what has been thought of or if like a fringe anti-science movement that like wasn't even across the political spectrum people were okay getting their kids vaccinated as a general rule. I am worried about like what happens after this because so much misinformation is spreading. I just seeing the other day on instagram offender. A friend who is a nurse and she's protesting outside the hospital because they're saying jessica vaccinated and she doesn't think that's fair and you just wonder. Yeah it's very it's dark right. It's very. It's very depressing concerning to see so much rejection. Even from medical professionals rate of the need to get vaccinated against something that has literally killed. Almost you know over half a million americans alone And yet there's still so much pushback. So i i'm worried about what is coming down the hatch on this i mean it's so our inability to act for the collective good so high. These days are failure or incapacity. To see i mean to. I'm sure the nurses saying oh well i. I'm willing to endure that risk for myself and it's like it has nothing to do with you. It has nothing to do with you. Nurse it has to do with all the people you're going to interact with who are vulnerable. I mean what she what she said was like she was. They were treated so badly during kobe. They had no. Pb protection they are asked to do so much they which is totally true. I don't understand why the response to that is. We should be able to put you know sick. People at risk versus we deserve better protection. We deserve You know better. Hey we deserve better hours in It just feels so misguided to me in in some ways. I think it is an attempt to exercise control in a world that that people feel like is unpredictable. And they don't have a lot of control over rate but honestly seeing nurses protests outside hospitals. Beat me a lot more pessimistic. Can i ask you all a question about the sort of global moral quandary. Were in so you know. I totally understand why parents of younger kids are begging for a faster approval vaccine in the united states. it doesn't seem like we can get to herd immunity without those kids especially with the more contagious variant. At the same time we have these horribly low rates of vaccine access in much of the world and you know we were supposed to have a plan that ensured that vulnerable people globally older people people with Other risk factors got access before the lower risk. People who were the younger people. I mean have. We abandoned that out of pure selfishness in the united states is the contagious of the delta variant. A legitimate reason. What like how are we supposed to think about this. I mean i was actually thinking about emily that i've been talking about the us so much as we've been talking about this and not like what this actually is is so much more dire for people in other countries and they don't have access to what we have access to up by the way makes the vaccine those who are refusing to the backseat a little bit more frustrating. Because you see. In other countries people waiting ten twelve hours in line for the hopes of getting a vaccine in here were just rejecting it but it is true that what we're seeing in places with less vaccine access is in no makes what's happening here look like cakewalk. It's it's devastating. Let us go more. Surely to cocktail chatter when you are sitting in the swelter of new haven. Emily baz lan extremely cold. Drink next you cold alcoholic drink. What will you be chattering about to paul sabin. I am imagining that margarita. Over the weekend. I can never resist an opportunity to talk about the census and this week. The census bureau is dropping the all the data for redistricting across the country. So this is the data that will enable states to reallocate legislative seats within states. We already did apportionment now. We're onto the inside states. How does power shift. And we're gonna just have this mad dash of map-drawing Because a lot of states have these really fast approaching deadlines for redistricting to take place like in the fall. And it's just gonna be really interesting to see you know how. The state affects the power balance within states. What happens to opportunity districts for black and latino voters that are acquired by the voting rights act There's just like lots of political power to be reallocated with huge consequences and some of the states that are going to expect it to move really quickly. According to politico are colorado michigan. Ohio kentucky iowa. Other states with early deadlines oregon north carolina california virginia. Those are some really important states for both the balance of power in the house and st some of them with their own state houses in play. So anyway i will be watching all of this very closely because i am obsessed. The census j. dr jesse w race. What's your gender. So clint smith who co hosted justice in america with me for our first two seasons. And it's just one of the kindest people on earth guys not. I'm recommending his book. Because this book is legitimately great Is called how the word is passed and it is kind of a survey of american history through visits to different Historical sites so he goes to different sites including angola prison in louisiana. He goes to monticello. And he printed analyzes and assesses the role of slavery in american history. The way that we grapple with it or don't grapple with it and it's really just beautifully britain as well. i mean it's it almost feels like fiction. It's so so beautiful So i highly recommend clinton and then one other book that i just to anybody who has middle school kids will really enjoy. This book called my in the robot which is just amazing book by eve. Doing who is just incredible scholar in all sorts of ways. But this amazing. Why book for kids. I guess it's not why maybe it's for second to fourth grade or something around that age but it's really really good and so I highly recommend that one as well. I just want a second recommendation. Especially for clinton's book and also to a few weeks ago you're on the show and you talked about d. transition baby is a novel that i was in the middle love when i was listening to you talk about it. Oh my gosh. We talked about online. And i got a lot out of that but yes it's so good. my chatter about. Maybe the best story. I read in a longtime. It's jen senior story in the atlantic. What bobby mckelvin left behind grief conspiracy theories in one family search for meaning the two decades since nine eleven and it's about a family and this family lost a son in nine eleven. Bobby miguel vein and his father and mother survived. His brother survived. His girlfriend survived and jen senior. Who is very close bobby. Miguel veins family goes back and spend time with twenty years later and tries to understand what his loss meant. And how how. That's shaped how they've moved through the world since then and it's i don't want to spoil it by getting into any of the details it's just a beautiful heart wrenching story about loss and and about surviving loss so check it out listeners. "About like what was what was great. Win that of twenty seventeen regular season. Yeah regular season to the giants game. Where was it over. Time or regulation rate would have gone into overtime physically. It didn't make a sixty one. Yarder men are sixty three. I can't remember now Also eagles played the panthers on thursday night football that year. I was like a really big like this is like a while. Eagles are like good. Because they're getting screwed by the rest in that game like like just really in a big way and they still like. This'll beat the panthers was awesome win. So yeah that game like again. It just seems like a blip on the radar to me in hindsight to it. Wasn't it was nicer. Beaten the cowboys. I remember specifically Like they're getting deduct all game long at the box score here. They sacked him four times. I know i think. Dark arnett strips actum brennan. Graham had a really big on at one point. Dak threw three interceptions in that game so it was fun to beat up on the cowboys. But it wasn't like you know Anything this it was like. Oh this triumphant win. It's like one of our best wins. It was just a really nice win. but it was almost easy to take for granted because of how awesome everything was going on in that season. That's fair. I'm gonna try to get yours. So are you ready for this. Because i i have. I have like what was going to be my guest. And then i adjusted it so my gas was going to be a twenty fourteen. Second meeting between the two teams. When dez bossed are moss rather nolan kale for three touchdowns. But then i thought about and i was like biaggi was probably not that committed to the at that point because mark sanchez was starting like he. He wasn't emotionally invested. He knew that you know the eagles around borrowed time. So my actual guests is the two thousand and sixteen match up on october thirtieth the first deck whence game. That went to overtime. Because i can only imagine that you were just in pieces after dak. Prescott hit slow mo jason witten in the end zone completely by himself for the game winning touchdown over so i thought about both of those. It's not my pick. Oh i'm so happy that there are multiple options for you to consider that we're devastating losses. Well i think again. The team thing like it couldn't have been super devastating with the sanchez. Context deals weren't really going to do anything year the long term anyway. It was devastating. I would say that was the most devastating at the link that i can remember in high point because remember. There was a lot of energy and excitement and giant going on. That's between dez. I think malcolm jenkins and you'll see down in that game. And then he came back for a little bit too and it was like until there's life in the link and then it just ended really badly. And i was considering two thousand sixteen and i did want to talk about that game because this whole narrative speaking of narratives here that like all dax superclubs something that people really forget in that game in two thousand sixteen is that dak prescott through a sore interception till yoda's mckelvin any just dropped it. You just dropped it. He's he was a sure pick. He dropped the ball like it couldn't have been any more simple. And then like that gets glossed over because they won over time which is fine. Qb god that people rely on like you know what i mean like that has that has evolved over time. But it certainly wasn't the case at that time. And i think something people also forget about that game and the wind and everything wouldn't have happened. If not for the chris jones. Fake punt that jason garrett called i mean jason garrett was a much more aggressive head coach in that time and there was an incredible. Nfl films clip. I forget which to eagles defenders and they were like they were coming to the bench. They're putting their helmets down. And then like in the background. You can see chris jones scampering for the first down they just turn around like aw crap like we gotta go back out there like. It's it's those little weird things that made that game what it was. It wasn't to your point dak just but that game did go along way. At establishing the deck is better than wentz narrative. I will say though like that game. I legitimately felt like the eagles were the better team in that game. I know there's another model store didn't reflect that that's not always the case. Not every every loss. I always feel that way that game specifically i felt like they outplayed. The cowboys in lake. Deserved to win that game. So that's why that one did hurt but it's not that one for me. It is the twenty eighteen clear recovery game because that is that was the biggest joke i've ever seen and you had. You cannot tell me that that was not an eagles like it makes no sense. Watch that play again. The rep said no clear recovery. Which isn't even the basis of the rule by the way even if that is your like determination that's not what needs to be decided for us to recover that ball if you look at the rule it says if there's no clear recovery but like there's a body of only players from our pile of team players only one team around the ball then. That team gets the ball like common sense and it was so obvious and like it was such a gut punch from the jump like he didn't feel like a fair game from the jump because the eagles had this big emotional play that would set them up in scoring territory from the job and taking out the cowboys i chance to score which is like this huge swing in a game. That went to overtime. Mind you like. That was an obvious. Screw job that one really sucked and So hold on..

The nickname. Uh, Yeah, man, I got it from some of my friends growing up. Uh, it really started as a Joe. They're really trying to clown me a little bit trying to Sally like Keith. Uh, So you know my real aim to make Children so I realized Nativity like everybody's always mess it up Growing up. So it was like, Yeah, like this like this hard actually. And they, actually just with me like this. That's pretty smooth. Oh, hey, big sauce, right, Chief? Three months, So the big stuff is okay. I see you, man, you know, but you be out in the community. You know, people outside of Denver may not notice, but you'd be in the community, You know, Community service. You know, I I see your name up there almost every time I see something up there. You know where decide passion? You know, obviously, it's always about where you come from, but you know, it's how is your experiences? You know, we're giving back and and you know what drives you to give back as much as you do. Oh, man, bro, Like you said the experiences Um just like like the Salvation Army, Like like we was homeless at once time, and they gave me me, My mom and my sisters a place to stay. You know what I'm saying? It's like like, like they didn't. They didn't know who I was gonna be. They like, didn't they Didn't they didn't have no explanation like okay, he's going to be, uh, a good pretty good football player. He's going to make the NFL and it was just doing it doing it out of the kindness of their hearts. So when I can do something like trying to donate my cleats or You know, try to give back to the community. Get back to the youth. Um Give back to the use, Like even like talking to the to the juvenile kids. Um, I was in the same predicament. Um, when I was in, like, eighth grade when I was a grade I had got arrested. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Being in that spot. It was kind of like when I had got out. It was like dang like, Oh, no, Like I kind of felt like my life was over. You know what I'm saying? Eighth grade. I was like, Hey, man, like is no way I'm gonna be able to make it now. You so you so So for me. It's like I was in the same position, so I'm just trying to get him hope like if I did it. How far off the wagon I was like, I know you can do it. You know, so that's that's that's really what it is, Um Just trying to China. Put some good deeds out there, man also and I don't know how people how many people realize it's the Broncos. In addition to the Walter Payton, Man of the year, where every team nominates a player to have a shot at the National Award, and it was von a couple of years ago with his Vons vision stuff. The last two years has been Justine Simmons. They also recognize a handful of other players that are involved like Dawn Risner. We know he has his own foundation. Bradley Chubb has his foundation Alexander Johnson. Joe Jones has been a three time community ambassador, Tim Patrick. And then you were the rookie. You lead the rookie class last year 19 instances of community outreach. That's just through the team. I'm sure there's other stuff you did. Beyond that, And and so the Denver Broncos mentioned that anything that you know when you can discuss the juvenile justice system. Uh, it's really cool to see And you know the one thing about doing that, right? It's sort of like just it correlates to sports. If you have a really good rookie year, you better back it up. And obviously we know that Was on the field certainly matters around these parts, but you can't do 19 events last year. Now that things are opening up. Only do one or two this year you're going to have to now you set a standard for yourself. And I've had it doesn't sound like your mind it at all. Yeah. No, I don't mind it at all, man. It's just more opportunities to get out there and be able to, you know, like you were able to do events and over his home and everything, But now it's It's gonna be a little more being able to be a person to do it, You know? So, um, so even like just pride month. Um, yeah, there's something to his, um, for me, Uh, My mother. My mother has a wife. So, um, like just something that I grew up around all the time, So I want to make sure everybody knows like it's okay to be you and living your truth. Um Right. So so, like this month like I want to make sure I get out there and do a couple things like, make sure people know that I'm behind them, and I support them. 100% Uh, just because, Miss Lee, I know that that can be hard for a lot of people. You know, like they can be tough for a lot of people to try to try to live in the truth, especially in a society or, um, people try to put you in a box. You said something I was talking about your mom. And her wife look like I mentioned I grew up in Texas. I understand things are a lot more tolerant than they were even when I was a kid just a few years before you guys but we're still not where we need to be. And so it's great to see the growth were pride, Pride weekend and bright braids became bright week and bride months, But what kind of challenge was that? Growing up where you did in in the south and in different parts of Texas with, you know, essentially two months? Yeah, man. It was it was. It was kind of tough, You know, because well, while I didn't have a father singer Um, And then also, you know, um they were sometimes growing up. Used to be hard like people Just try to you know, they make funny. You know, there was something my my grandmother. Um, is like Like the biggest Christian and I, it will. You know the answer. Like I ever meet. She was She was big. You know what I'm saying? She was. She was being hard, um, old customs. If you yourself like a man to be with a woman and a woman should be with a man. Um But it in the day like you know, she still love your child and like that, That was my mom. Like so so almost discipline my mom and I always love my mom. But it definitely was. It definitely was toughest, sometimes growing up, But I got to the point. It was like at the end of the day. Like this year, my mom like it's not gonna change anything. I still love my mom threw. She is like I'd rather hug, be herself and be truthful to herself and living her truth. Then try to fake for society. It doesn't care about you for real, You know? It's crazy what some people will do just because of what other people think about them. Signal that some busting storms. I mean, like, you gotta It's really like, you know. People. You've got a lot of people, you know that live a different life because I think that they have to because they've got to show everyone else what they what they want to do instead of living how they want to live so You know? Kudos. Kudos because you got you gotta You gotta live your truth. You gotta live who you are, or you'd be miserable in this world, You know, like it's just You know it. It's was too mentally taxing to add that to not be able to be yourself and and still have to live through this, you know, it's just likely to, you know, that's his weight. "There's some duds at the back end of this, But like if you look at number 31 the Jaguars, okay. CJ Henderson Colombian chase on legislation all around, too. I think you're really excited about him, right? But you expect some of these pics. To be too need to develop just because they didn't all of a sudden bust out like Justin Jefferson. You're one no reason to throw in the tower. The Jeffrey Ricotta Detroit, another example. You know, so I'm not. I'm not overreacting to it to dramatically. I think a lot of the teams at the top it got a ton out of the rookie classes. You look at the Washington ball team, the box Tristen Worse. And from Winfield, the Colts on Ben, Of course, the Bangles with choe Burrow. They had guys that were put in prime position and, yeah, they delivered in their rookie year. But that doesn't mean that the guys at the back can't deliver in their 2nd and 3rd year. That's why you're drafting them in the first place. You know if you're auditioning for one, Wait nine. The hater. I don't think the reason too nuanced. Take like that is gonna is gonna work. Let me ask you Look, let me ask you a legitimate question here, though, When? When do you think it is appropriate to judge Class A draft class. That's a great that's a great point. I think once you get to once you have three years in there, um I think it's appropriate to start looking at that draft class relative to the rest, But I really don't think you wanna overreact. Certainly to the first year, I think you're too you know, depending on the consistency of the team around them. You can start to look at things, but I would really want to see Three years. Hopefully, by that point, you had some sort of continuity within the team. I mean most of the team's drafting, high or bad, right, So it's tough to get a keen scent on the smaller sample your three fine, but ultimately you want to look at that fool wait for that rookie contract for five years. All right. You know, I was looking back because because, you know, we're all used to talk with you about this. I was looking back at the Broncos draft class of 2017 and yes, carry balls turned out great. There was a shaky there for a little bit, but it turned out great after him. Marcus Walker, who did play out his contract but will not be back Carlos Anderson, not in the league. Brennan Langley, not in the league, Jake, but this he's gonna be gone and it's unfortunate but injuries. Isaiah Mackenzie actually has been pretty good out there in Buffalo Butts, a miss for the Broncos because they moved on so fast. The Angela Anderson and Chad swag Kelly That is the 2017 draft class. So we're kind of right in that window. That's four years, but my goodness, I think after two we all felt pretty good about knowing with that draft class. Will you still call him swagger? Do we call him vacuum bag now? It Z. Yeah, Swagger's not the word that you would use for that particular graphic. No You shine a light on something that's really important. Which is the draft is is a lottery. You know, in so many ways, if you think you know you don't know. Oh, public water supply operator got a permit number and all and Then I started building a plant and anyway, then I get the T. C cute government agency over oversees our water supply in Texas. And they said, Well, Mr Hannagan. That's a pretty good idea. But green Waters not approved as a source for water. That's okay. So where you getting your water, you guys? Well, you know where we get our water. We could have a lake. Travis. Where's that come from? Well, you know, it has a slight brain myself. Okay? That's okay. So I'm gonna That's why, you know, so we need to make this building. Have. This is a source for water. I don't know, sir. In another thing, Mr Hannigan Now that we got this conversation gone, we can't talk to you anymore because you're not a licensed engineer. So I went OK, Great. Well, I will come back, so it's just had to prove it to him that it was a good source of water. So I built a little pilot bottling plant And they said they prove that building my own bare hands. I'm a blacksmith. I'm a sculptor. I've cut the pipes and news trans Just got the right things and boiled it everything up, and then we go and put more systems and I get him or some more money. Go out. Buy more metal. Put it all up. Then I thought, Man, this is I can't really start this yet. I got the plant's going. I got everything. I need some tanks and buy and 13 tanks. I mean, I'd like 250,000 gallons, and then I had the engineers and he's a friend of mine and basically wrote it on a napkin. I said here, right this out. Make it look real official. Here's what we're gonna do. We're gonna micro we're gonna put it through a really tiny filters. And we're gonna separate it after it goes into a couple of tanks, and then we're gonna put it through UV light. And then we're gonna start in a sanitary tank. And then we're gonna put just before Bob. We're gonna put ozone innit, No ozone. It's a really great sanitizer. City's water supplies to use chlorine and chlorine is a cancer causing chemical. And so we didn't want you to have the Clean Water act required. Public water survives to use chlorine, and there's no other source of Sanitation, They would have proved. You know, I have a saying The solution to pollution is delusion. And it's the same thing the city's used. They just say go. Okay, Here's a 10 gallons of chlorine. And so we're gonna have to mix that with 13,000 and 170 gallons of water and that'll do it. Okay. It might taste a little funny, but anyway, I can't do that. And so my plan was I said, Okay, Here's the deal. If you take me to court, and I'll even here settled into it, we have to end up in court. I'm gonna tell the jury that Okay, Here's what they want me to do with my rainwater. They want me to put chlorine in it. And that will cause cancer. Possibly and then rain water We've already proven has no cancer causing byproducts and from the way we sanitize it. So it seems like a really smart thing to do. And so and then also, if you say I can't do it them, then it will be. It won't be good because the jury is going to say Well, I was trying to go. We certainly don't want you to get cancer. So we'd like your idea. They said, Well, we kind of like your deal, and it's also sustainable. And then we started doing testing on it and then did their monthly reports. And it all always came back. Just beautiful. And at that point more people in Austin on the hill country we're getting into rainwater collection, so everybody's calling this ancient saying. Hey, I want to put a whole rain water system in my house. So four years later, we got the first public water supply using rainwater's sole source of water without using chlorine, and then that's it. It's all over town. And it's pretty damn good feeling so it's a It's a future water. There's no doubt about it. That's that's still the purest water on the planet because it did never touched the ground. As soon as it touches the ground, it turns to trash. Deeper water goes people stay home and my wells 10,000 ft. Deeper hole, man. That's 9999 ft. Of trouble above it. It's just the perfect water, but it's a little difficult to get.
