Malaysian Prime Minister Resigns Amid Anger Over Virus

"We turn to malaysia or the prime minister mcginn. Yes and and his cabinet have resigned. The opposition leaders were calling for the prime minister's to step down. After he delayed the opening of parliament for over two months. Legally we have the right to be brent. From entering ballymun miss yes in submitted his resignation to the king earlier today and the palace said in a statement that he will stay on in a caretaker role until a replacement is found but now that the country's leader has stepped down. This appears to have thrown the country into a fresh political crisis as malaysia deals with its worst cova. Nineteen outbreak and a decimated economy. Well for more. I'm joined on the line from kuala lumpur by political analyst. Bridget welsh bridge. Just give us a sense of the timing for this and why the prime minister is saying he's stepping down now well. The prime minister has You know acknowledged. He doesn't have a majority of the parliament support. His speech on his resignation to the public doesn't fully sort of a Address some of the reasons why I think the public pressure has been on him to resign. Which as you pointed out are in the economy in the in the record number of cases The initially slow vaccination rate which says since picked up where over a third of the population is now fully vaccinated but the fact is is that i think that there is a covert has had a very big impact and of course this is created a context for elites to be able to pull their support from him and i think that me and yes instill sort of suggested in his speech that that he was still had lots of support which i think is probably not the case from the perspective of what how he perceives it in the case of the parliament He clearly doesn't have the numbers. The question now is who will have the numbers to form of government

A conversation on why you should vote

"Welcome back to another episode of that money though friends we have just a few weeks left before the general election it's happening November third. The day is finally here and we WANNA. Talk about the election this episode because many states are going to be having their deadlines for which which you can register usually happening in October depending on your states look that up and we thought it'd be important to visit with all of you why it's so important to vote. We actually asked them of our listeners what are the three reasons that you're voting and? They said in. His off. Yes. So from the Angelo from the Geek Life, we all knew America had major issues but these four issues have shown us how bad things could really be. He's four years. Yeah. A number to worry about a month away from being still being society e and number three I'm O'Brien in. America. And I grew up in fear and don't want my kids to do. So those reasons we love him. Thank you. and. Then we had the folks from lat. Next point of view podcast. They said that healthcare is the number one issue because less people in the US have access to healthcare, which is a big deal when you're experiencing global pandemic number two, the economy, and then number three `immigration is that these are the three reasons for black next point of view. All right. So we got Joe, Sparkman, who said number one to dump trump Helje number to fight racism and number three fight sexism Mcginn. grazes. And then we had one more and lease said healthcare and immigration for sure. So I mean, there's so many reasons to vote for this election. We have a huge opportunity coming up to course correct the past four years but rather than focusing on us whoever is trump and who by the way we've decided on a shelley and mutually decided actually decided but I agree we're gonNA retire putting trump in the trash can there's just too many trump's there. So we don't have to do that here. There's Lore we're not doing it. WOULDA yeah. He's already there. So if you're. Even, you're no longer allowed to put trump in there because he's there's too many of them in there any who so we're going to focus not on that but instead like what are we voting for? It's not just against trump, but there's plenty of things to vote for. So entertain that why are you gonNa vote this November So. Many reasons and I mean ultimately what I want most is for everyone to live there moth antic fulfilling and healthy lives and I think in order for us to be able to do that, we need to have living wages we need to be able to live where we want without fear. We need to have equal access to education and opportunities, and we need to have access to safe in green communities and environments. Amen, I mean all that can go deeper into a few things and I know Brenda you'll share some with us, but I think I vote because environmental justice and Climate Change I. Think are one of the most urgent issues of our generation and trump has shown us that they do not care about the trump administration says that it did not care about that they recently rolled. Back Environmental Procedural protections under the Environmental Policy Act. So basically, you can build your highways, your pipelines and power plants without consideration of a lot of the harmful effects that they can cause on our communities and environmentally, and also our communities, and you know it's not a surprise that most of the communities that are affected by these types of this construction are Brown and black communities. That's so true. So and then along with that I'm also voting because I care about black lives and I care about criminal justice reform, and again, the trump administration has shown this time and time again that they're willing to put the economy before human lives are willing to protect professor percents. Supremacy and that's Discussed the Americans and we've seen that in how we handled pandemic that he literally cared more about you know the economy than human lives especially. Brown. Black lives we've seen how eases uses platform twitter and other social media insight, right wing violence, and that's been really scary for for me to release it lane actual literal. You know the young man is a shit that shot people and what we've known for a long time is that we really need to re imagine how our criminal justice system works and we know that the trump administration has does not is not putting that as a priority and I know that a lot of people will say. For Sure Joe Biden did help author the crime bill and Nineteen ninety-four. But I believe I believe in the power of change and I believe from what I've seen with from Biden including Kamala that they're willing to course correct and they definitely care more about reimagining and change criminal justice system than than trump does that's one hundred percent true. Those are excellent reasons. One hundred percent concur with that. How about you? Brenda, what are the? What are a few reasons I know there are so many reasons but what if you want to call out for listeners? So many definitely underscore everything that you said, but I think it's good for everyone to remember that the president can do so much including appointing, supreme, court justices, and other federal federal federal judges. So a good reason to vote is the courts you maybe don't like Biden. Harris don't even think about them just think about what's at stake. So the president of the United States gets to appoint judges, and if we remember there's been lots of Supreme Court battles from Dhaka from ACA to reproductive and lgbtq rights in this court the Supreme Court is all over the place that he they're mostly conservative. got to a point to super right wing horrible people including Justice Cavanaugh a rapist, and also eight RPG is eighty seven years old and she's battled cancer multiple times. So it's very likely that whoever wins in November they're to be able to appoint another Supreme Court justice and what's at stake we Really can't afford that.

Hard-Selling vs Soft-Selling and the Invisible Hooks You Probably Missed

"What's up everybody this Russell Brunson? Welcome back to the marketing secrets. Podcast today at one talk. About the marketing that's invisible inside of the fulfillment of the thing that you are actually selling so the big question. Is this power entrepreneurs like us. He didn't cheat and take on VENTURE CAPITAL FOR SPENDING MONEY. Own pockets marketing away. Let us get our products and our services and the things that he believed in out to the world and yet still remain profitable. That is the question in this. Podcast will give you the answer. Name's offer Brunson and welcome the marketing. All right so a couple of things ahead. Somebody An instagram right me in the questioning. Hard selling and soft selling out the wheels my head spinning and then today actually this whole week. Everybody is starting to get the the books in the of the traffic secrets are showing up. The box shown up odd so exciting seeing everybody getting their boxes and packages and a couple of people circle made videos them open boxes and it was like. Did you guys all capture? The marketing lessen the Russel's gave us here inside of this box. And it's fun because I don't think most people got it but a few people did some secrets just in case because a lot of times we focus so much on the hard selling I'm GonNa go. I'M GONNA create my offer my funnel. GonNa. I'm like Hook from a hook them. Tell the story make an offer. That's hard selling right. Soft selling rate all the subtleties. You're doing around everything for example in my podcast and my facebook lives in my interviews. My everything I'm always talking about stuff right. I always talk about click funnels and when when I had made a circle when it was still open if you ever noticed the first probably three hundred episode of this podcast as always talking about major circle members. Don't manage circle member to this circle member to this. I was talking about these people in this tier need this group and as I did that more people right I want to be in their circus are looking for it right. And that's what just it's just like casually talking about things talking about phones talking about order talking about all these things that lead back to whatever it is that you actually sell and so I think a lot of people think oh I mean there's some my product you're selling my product or I'm or I'm I'm teaching right and say no they all go together. Do you understand that? Like they're all they'll kind of tied together in so soft songs all the things. You're doing all the time lake. Just for example right. Now what have already done already talked about? Click funnels with talked about the traffic secrets book and talked about the box and talking about circles with four things. Just in the first two minutes of this podcast just and it's like planting seeds and talking about and talking about more and and as you do more and more of it it just gets people to to wonder more into look more and be more excited when the opportunity to purchase arises. So that's kind of a hard sell soft so now to go deeper on that. This is This is what's what's Fun Right. So everybody bought the book and You went to the book funnel right if you have a book yet come on Alec. Why are you even listening to me this point? Don't trust me enough to go by the book. But I digress. Traffic DOT COM. You'll get the book the book you go through down so flowing through the whole thing off there. I you much webinar. Hopefully go to Webinar. And you know the whole whole funnel happens. That's hard now. Soft cell are the things happening now right so in the mail every got box outside the boxes waiting for you open the box scan the Qr Code. And I know about people know how to use our Koji. I still am just learning how to use them if they go to your photo APP and you hold Kyoko to pop open website. Where the video from me in the video ad space basically tell people? I think you so much for buying this book I read from. Sison like you're gonNA love it. I can't wait to dive into it and ask them for favors. Look just know an authorized me biggest thing that we want is we want to be able to make how people actually get the thing. We create right. We spend eighteen months of our life. Lock down like writing this. This this thing for you like I want you to feedback. It's like the thing that being the most me right now is before you open his box of extra record yourself. The boxes you open it go and then shared on facebook and instagram social media and tag me on it and and I wanna see those things right now again. This is like this is the art of selling now right so maximum for favorite US book. I I kill myself to give it to you. Have if you could just make a video you in boxing and posted now. Obviously not everyone does not even like not even the majority of people do but a good percentage people do and posting them everywhere the posting when the close group posted on their own page posting them on instagram their their stories that like I am getting tagged in in boxing video everywhere and obviously we sold like I think sixty or seventy thousand copies of book so far and my getting sixty or seventy thousand getting literally hundreds multiple hundreds of people posting these videos. And when they're doing it gets what's happening their friends their family members or other people like what's up. What's it about and it's starting to make sales Second wave cells are coming. I didn't do anything for other than I. Just ask people to be willing to box that. They're they're thinking posting and boxing you tag. She's been really really cool All the course ones. I don't see all some land. My other folder junk-food but the cool ones. I see I share Mcginn. It's helping those people as well so there's a lot of benefits than side of the book like if you the box you open up a quickstart guide in quick start. Guide walks you through how to use the book. You can buy a computer. You Get Quick Start Guide you buy. Software Quick Star Guy like before book. We don't we included quickstart guides to get quick star guidance. I Okay. I need you to read this book. Second thing you need to do is if you ever read. This is part one of three. They go get the other two books and make sure you read the whole. Trojan get along with the workbook for free. Then here's how to get the whole box set. So I'm telling about the best way to consume the book and how it fits with the other books and for them to go get it right so. It's not hard to say here that you're reading this. This is the best way to consume it. I'm just like if I was selling crackers. I'd like the best way crackers with some some crackers. Cashew milkers of I don't even know. Is that even a thing like I was? Let's say let's say I had a food company right and Shampoo Company right. The Best Chiampou Booms doubled yourselves right. It's these little these little things like that. And so the quickstart guide is also then like little tickets to other things like tickets to webinars tickets all offers. We have just like oh by the way. Here's a bookmark you can use but it also serves as a pretty good ad smell these bookmarks that come in the in the boxes people who broke marks in the books but it's pushing to the Webinar funnel and the this thing and it just other places. They're quick funnels trial things like that you know. And so it's just it's little things kind of including in the sales process the fulfillment process that Increase a whole bunch of things right. It gets your your book. Your product is spread more viral. It gets people talking about people sharing it gets people knowing. What's the next step? Where do I go from here in the value like what's the next piece and so all the things that you kind of look at them? That's that's the magic so anyway. I hope you started thinking about

To Forecast Spring Flooding, NOAA Planes Fly Slow And Low

"Forecasters are predicting significant flooding in the Midwest. This spring to be accurate. They measure ice and snow. That will eventually melt into streams and rivers so the National Weather Service Hester rely on pilots who fly low and slow to get that data Matt Sepik of Minnesota Public Radio went up with them. It's a clear and very cold morning at a small airport outside. Minneapolis as Lieutenant Conor Mcginn and Lieutenant Junior Grade Mason. Carol warm up their twin engine turboprop in rundown the preflight checklist back up there among forty pilots with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Commissioned Officer Corps based in central Florida besides measuring snow Noah pilots handle a wide variety of scientific missions from counting Wales to flying into hurricanes on today's flight. Carol sits at the controls while Mcginn scans the navigation charts were soon at cruising altitude but not for long a half hour. North of Minneapolis. Mcginn tells air traffic controllers that will be dropping down way down to just five hundred feet so the instruments on board can accurately measure the SNOWPACK for six put survey aircraft parts may ten miles south field setting up for a little survey. We're so close to the ground. That trees snowmobile tracks and the lettering on small town water towers come into sharp view. In the Bright Sun. Avoiding Birds Broadcast Towers requires intense concentration. The ride is a bit. Bouncy is Carol follows the rolling landscape up and down with a large tablet. Computer Mcginn activates the radiation detector in the plane's belly that's at the heart of the nation this box. The size of a large suitcase picks up natural low level gamma rays emanating from the soil because water blocks. This radiation Mcginn can determine how much water is on the ground by putting today's measurements side by side with readings taken in the fall river. Do now those numbers go. How much water back snow can be fluffy or compact or anything in between so forecasters rely on a figure called snow water equivalent. That's what's leftover when everything melts after measuring a nine mile by thousand foot strip of land McGinnis computer reveals that the snow pack contains about three and a half inches of water but hydrologist on the ground need much more data so we fly for another three and a half hours measuring nine more of the survey areas marked on the map dipping down low each time many of these spots were established forty years ago before. Gps navigation they're typically near railroad tracks and other easy to spot landmarks and away from large population centers. The crew also shoots photos to provide a visual reality. Check on the numbers. We get halfway to Canada before heading. Back TO MINNEAPOLIS. At the hangar. Mcginn handoff thumb drive to carry. Oh heiser from the local weather service office. Who's excited to see the new data? She says it'll help. Smooth out the bumps in measurements still taken the old fashioned way on the ground by volunteers with rulers you have observers that take point observations and you might have someone who is like. Hey I see bare ground. I'M GONNA go report zero and you have another observer that's like hey I'm going to go see how deep snow I can find. This actually takes an average so it takes into account those extremes Mcginn and carol will fly up to the DAKOTAS and over to New England do similar surveys. Their work is already yielding results. Manned is helping communities along the Mississippi and other rivers prepare for possible flooding this spring for NPR news. I met epic in

"This is this fast money. I'm Melissa Leo Traders on the Desk Tim Seymour Karen Feinerman Johnathan and guide Dommie just breaking a little while ago Oracle. CEO Mark Her taking a leave of absence due to health related reasons since the stock selling off after hours. Conference call expected within the hour. We'll keep you updated as the story develops then if you didn't know SAS. SAS stands for software off whereas service but it could soon stan for software as a source of pain down nineteen percents these scales Hong Kong stock exchange launches an aggressive thirty seven billion dollars bid for it wait for a London stock exchange. We'll get perspective from one of their biggest rivals. CME group chairman and CEO Terry Duffy joins US exclusively here here on set but I it's still on and we are talking about the great rotation so many here on this desk. I've been skeptical of maybe even Poo pooing at times the sector showing continuing strength the Russell banks retail just to name a few so what is going to make you a believer guy. It's a fascinating question. Market has an uncanny way not that I need help by the way of making me look extraordinarily silly and here we are as as we just heard within a percent suddenly all time high the S. and P. Five hundred and everything looks fantastic. When do I become a believer I. I don't know the answer that question but I'll say is the headwinds that exist in a couple of weeks ago looked really haven't gone away all that much. Yes rates have backed up a little bit. Probably a healthy move yes to go. Market is an exploding to the upside. Maybe maybe some of the concerns with the China deal situation of Hong Kong have abated but they haven't gone away. There's still there. The markets is looking pass them so I don't know how to answer that question because it concerns since I have. I don't think it get resolved in one day. Well I know how to answer the question like when the rest of believers simple when the rest of Maga- makes the new high and apple is on its way to doing that. It's about ten bucks from the all time highs last September. I'd love to see Google Amazon participate again. Those are three and a half trillion dollars. Dollars of mega cap the largest in the market the other one. You know you mentioned the Russell. I'd like to see the Russell breakout above the seven month range and really kind of get people thinking about okay well. Maybe small caps have digested a lot of the bad news in the ready to go a little bit so those are two areas. I want to focus on. I'm not so interested in seeing Alcoa rally twenty percent off. Its you know that doesn't really convey about too much yet. Karen you know I I love to buy when things are trading down into gers. I'm kind of more more inclined to sell. Some things are trading up and injures less. I talked about taking a little money off table selling by Selig's. JP Morgan calls I I why do on something like a united rental that has obviously participated to the downside heart and back to the upside hard. I still think it's attractive here name like Fedex that Tim and I talked about a lot. That's unknown news. Whatsoever is gone for line one forty nine to whatever one seventy one. I liked it higher than one seventy one so even though that one's up a lot. I'll hang onto things like that the vix today coming in a lot. I want to own volatility here because I think we are one tweet away from going back to those markets you you seem so fresh in my mind they could be any second week could be the Mcginn Tim even sort of on board the rotation since it. You pointed it out to sort of I don't WanNa say a believer Uber but you acknowledge. Its its presence here. Why don't you try to die down your gender. Your Rangers Rangers compatriot here well. He's missed. I've moved from three twenty five down to one forty five on the ten year in effectively six months. Maybe seven months was was was way way too. Excessive relative to the fundamentals in the US economy maybe not to the global economy and I continue to think that some of this rated namic was a function of buns pulling us down in a relative value trait. I think some small and this is not full. Reconciliation and Hong Kong has been important to set the tone tone for at least we're regionally. There's a little more stability going into October talks. Which I think are very important. Unfortunately I'm not sure what we're going to get out of that but then we had reaffirmation of the US S. consumer off a couple of data points and that's the ice and the services I assume which is really the backbone of our country not a manufacturing reading and so while we know the PM is going down down around the world. I think that's been part of the story. The most important from a market perspective is I think we've had these rotations many times in many cycles throughout the last last two years so it's easy to pooh-poohed at the market almost nothing but I actually think you know if if you look at where retail is retail underperform the S. and P. almost twenty percent for a year until suddenly it it makes a lot of that back up recently if you look at what's going on and transports and banks but the thing about it is that the valuations to me do make some sense and we sat around here and we talked talked about food stocks. We talked about restaurant stocks. We talked about things that really were tough to explain and I think the markets rationalization is that those things can only go so high and recession question is off the table for the next six months. That's where the central bank at your back. That's been the justification and it didn't happen three days ago. This happened three weeks ago. When when the rest of the world started rallying relative to our market. Thanks for educating us but do you think that was particularly bullish. When you're the president of the United States vote head Fed should go to lower grades two zero arowar negatively lower because to me that doesn't elicit a whole heck of a lot of confidence in this economy. Is Picking up because you saw good services number less so you're talking about psychology. Do you want one. I'm in an AP economics class again. I think we've got a case where the macro data doesn't add up to a market that should be falling off a cliff with soot and you just mentioned that the last two years the market hasn't done much because you said that you've acknowledged the fact that we've seen lots of rotation so you know the thing is here. We are three thousand the S&P eighty five hundred and we'll make a new high. Do you think we're going straight up. Do you think we're GONNA go to thirty thirty and then go straight up. Five seven eight percent not particularly weekly likely if you look at over the last two years when we made new incremental high. We've gone down a lot. I mean I don't think I don't think most of our audiences is making a call on the market out so and so I think people are investing in stocks. They are themselves rotating in and out the fact that the semi's which I think are again been an easy target of volatility and the volatility in that space has been enormous but semi's are to make another fresh high and semi's are still up almost now they make that fresh high. They'll be nine percent from June of two thousand eighteen when everyone everyone said that's it that's it. I'll take ten percent and I'll take ten percent of the time. We don't really ten percent to thirty percent drawdowns. I mean does that. Make aren't trading those drawdown. I look I understand those people another individual again. I understand statistics and I understand standard deviations and we are split up to tell me that that people should not have been investing in things that overall business you. Are you saying that because they went up a lot and they went down a lot. They were on investable during this period and I think most people aren't trading like that. What's the flip side to not believing in this rotation. What's it's the flipside to necessarily know if you don't believe that this rotation is for real. What did the market do the have. I've been training opportunities listen. I'm the first to tell you I mean I thought the market's going down for quite some time I don't hide from it but within the context of that we brought up some pretty good training opportunities we as a matter Arafat couple of weeks ago. We power pitched bank at a time when nobody likes you did if you recall that was pretty much universally th you know pooh-poohed you use that word but not me by the viewing audience and that's gone from six to one and a half. I think closes sixty nine today so within the context of being a non believer there are trading opportunities again by only the point is everything that got us down to where we were a month and a half two months ago have not gone away. It's gotten a little bit clearer but they haven't gone away and I think in a fifteen fixed accounts point. It's just too it doesn't make sense with the backdrop that that's out there right now all right well. Our next guest says the value rotation can continue and new highs are coming with it. Let's bringing Margaret Kalonovik global head of quantitative and derivatives strategy at J.P Morgan market's always great to see you so you have a bunch of skeptics on the dust in terms of this rotation so so what has to answer guys original question what has changed to make you believe that this value rotation is here. We'll first positioning is extremely low so if you look at the sort of hedge from equity exposure it's about zero percentile so close to all time lows match in two thousand eight. If you look at the individual investors a I will be our sentiment is basically similar to two two thousand eight so a lot of these early price in the market right like and positioning is very low then generally. There's upside. That's pure mechanics. This is not even a economics one to one so so so so that's that's something that we can sort of hold onto low positioning and then you had some positive things within mentioned already. You know so you have a services in us. You had a little bit on Brexit a little bit on a little bit on Hong Kong Essay are and then you had this October negotiations so if we we have like two to three weeks before October where we still have a buyback full force when the Biggs declined from twenty two to fourteen fifteen so all the sort of systematic folks who actually really ever and you have discretion investor who's basically zeroed invested in the market so that's what we think you can continue now why valutation can continue so people adds to market the first thing they will close the short while net positioning get zero percent but the gross positioning gross exposure according to JP Morgan prime is ninety nine percent out so you have like a massive longshore trade where people are super long low vault of quality momentum and growth and they're super short value so if they want to increase the increase the net exporter. I don't think they're going to triple quadruple on software and stuff like that. They'll close some of the energy oil than gas some of the some of the banks and other value stuff so we think that this can continue okay so it can continue in our view until October in October. Basically you have negotiations anything. Anything can happen right so if the negotiations blow up we go back. Even negotiations actually produce some results. I think this loss for a full year like in two thousand sixteen and Seventeen when when it lost more than eighteen months so that's very strategic trade so strategic is until October right and in October. I think we need to reassess. If there is actually progress towards its radio this can can be new two thousand seventeen eighty two thousand two thousand sixteen age seventy two kinloss another eighteen months if the if we have more of the same back you know back and forth tweeting and stuff like that then we go back to software guy thinks will when when you say we go back if there are stumbling blocks oxen trade does that mean that we re-test the ten year yield lows like legal retail would have on

Raytheon, United Technologies to merge, creating defense giant

"One files the corporate news of the day. The all stock transaction merger of equals, it's being called joining the giant defense contractor, Raytheon with the giant, aerospace company, United Technologies forming the more giant, if not, especially imaginatively named Raytheon technologies, one files that transaction under the heading done. Have you seen the defense and aerospace businesses lately? If the deal does make it pass regulators, the one hundred billion dollar result would be the number two company in that space behind Boeing. So marketplace's Kimberly Adams gets going with some market based realities from Washington Raytheon and United Technologies say the mergers important for them to keep their balance in shifting markets. Doug gates is head of aerospace and defense for KPMG. They're looking at it in this. Acquisition to a long term view that this combined company will be able to ride the ups and downs of the markets Raytheon has a big defense contracting business. United Technologies is big in commercial aviation. If commercials slowing down, they've got large military my and vice versa. Another reason behind the merger the idea that bigger is better risen McCormick is a fellow at the center for strategic and international studies. The merger would create a company that would bribe Boeing and Lockheed as largest defense contractor continuing trend of consolidation that's been ongoing since the nineteen ninety s that consolidation worries President Trump. He expressed concern this morning that too much consolidation in the defense industry may raise prices for the US military and by extension taxpayers. But Gerry McGinn executive director of the center for government contracting says this merger is unlikely to face a lot of pushback from federal. Regulators because there's not a tremendous amount of overlap between these two companies in terms of the markets. They operate it, but government regulators do have to approve the final deal among them the combined company's biggest customer, the department of defense in Washington, I'm Kimberly Adams for marketplace.

"Correct me. It's really hard to keep track of all of these districts. It is. And I will confirm. It is district. Seven downtown. All right. You, you are truly a night of the rational opposition when I sit down with you. You give me the sense similar to answer atler and argue Hoffman you're looking to have conversation. You believe we need to have more fiscally responsible elected officials here in this in the city of Seattle and and your little late to the game. But how's the campaign been going? What's the response been like is you've been going door to door and I think a good reminder for all of our listeners. What are the top three issues for you out there in our community? The campaign is ramping up and going well say, you know, my, my message has been universally positively received I I've feedback has been terrific. I think people appreciate that. I'm actually taking positions on, on things rather than just kind of engaging in political cliche talk, so things are going well. And I hope I hope the message is getting out. It's a it's a slow process, especially I live downtown so door building in insecure high-rise buildings is not a possibility. But I'm I'm taking meetings of various buildings. And, and the message is getting out magnolias available to you. I, I've been encouraging you at some point, I may I may, I don't know if you're allowed to do, but if I ever give you money, it would be in the hopes that you buy a scooter, so you can get around magnolia more and talk more people about how we need a magnolia bridge rebuild. I don't suppose you saw. Former mayor Mike McGinn 's comments on the magnolia bridge lab. Last week when he said that what we need is a environmental climate mayor to not build a bridge, that would actually move more traffic. I'm assuming you disagree. I would disagree with that. I mean, a big big part of bringing fiscal responsibility back to the city. I think is, is spending our transportation dollars with some, some women with epoch ac- and actually moving people in mind instead of instead of projects that, you know, we have things like the first avenue streetcar. And claims on second avenue that cost a great deal of money and don't really don't help transportation at all. And in fact, they say her traffic, they hurt people's ability to get around second avenue down to two lanes and buses or stop debt. So that's, that's neither environmental nor nor effective. So I absolutely I'm I. I think we need to spend our transportation dollars.

More congressional Democrats call for impeachment inquiry

"Stephen we've heard the the word impeachment thrown around quite a bit. And, and Rhode Island Representative David cellini had mentioned yesterday. Mcginn didn't show up and it was time to start impeachment inquiries towards the president. Is that something that there's a stomach for at this point or growing stomach, for well, the as you know, speaker, Nancy Pelosi has said that this is not the time to start talking about impeachment? But the, the calls are growing. Congressman cellini is just one of many members of the democratic caucus, who are clamoring now for it saying that, you know. Mentioned there, a couple of arose in the quiver when it comes to enforcement of a subpoena, there's one other power that the constitution gives the congress. And that's the power to impeach. There are also many Democrats who believe that by initiating an impeachment inquiry. It might be easier for the Democrats to make their case in court that they should be given some of the documents and testimony that they've demanded because inasmuch as there is case law, what the courts have said, is that, you know, it's, it's entirely appropriate for a formal impeachment inquiry to be able to dive in as it investigates, whether the president's committed a high crime or misdemeanor and therefore the congress in that case has investigative prerogatives that investigatory providence that, that, perhaps are in greater than the typical standard yesterday mentioned briefly the house oversight committee, one in initial round. In court of the president's attorneys said this morning, they're going to appeal. They filed a formal notice of appeal to the DC circuit court of appeals, but the district court judge Mehta said that. That the presence attorneys a wrong when they say that the house oversight committee's engage in politically motivated war using subpoenas a weapon. The judge said, it's not for the courts to decide whether congress is motivated by politics or not. And by the way, the review of the president's business records, appears to him to

I think very good battle and was very emotional going to the periods there every time. We went into that dress. "Business and most people won't be ready to buy right away. Right. You have to get in this mindset that it's going to take some nurturing. It's going to take you putting some effort in first, and then they will reciprocate with purchasing from you. Now, some reports state that your return on investment for Email marketing is thirty eight to one I don't know about you. But I'll take that ROI any day of the week. So basically every dollar I put in. I can expect to generate back thirty eight dollars in return over time. So that is the winning combination. Right. Like, if the lotto had those kinds of odds. Oh my gosh. Everybody'd be buying ticket. And this is your ticket to success growing your Email list. Yeah. That's so true. And you know, you I don't know if you've heard this Karen shoe, but some people are saying, oh, Email marketing is dead. We can confirm Email marketing is not dad because it is. It's a warming up process people. They really do need some time to get to know you and to trust you, and it they could be on your list for a day a week. They could be on your list for a year. You just don't know at what point they may be ready to sign up and work at these. That's why it's so important to stay in touch with them. So we are here to say Email marketing is alive and well. And it's still working phenomenally doesn't mean, you know, not to try other forms of marketing, but Email marketing is still the number one driver of revenue for your for most businesses, and it is for us, and for most of the coaches that we talked to. So let's let's talk about the five common questions that we get pretty much on a regular basis that will get you on your way to building Melissa. The first one is how do you offer value? So your ideal prospects will opt in with their Email address. So the first thing that consider is that you wanna provide one solution for one small problem. I know when I see this question. Karen, it's will I thought about covering this then than that? Then I went down a rabbit hole. Then I have to include this before I know what it ends up being like a fifty page E guide. So we. Really want you to focus on one aspect of one problem, and you want to focus just on one small area. So it can be specific and not overwhelming to the person who's opting end. So McGinn example, if if your name is helping people with gluten free living, you can create a list of ideas for Wootton free breakfasts as your freebie know, something just kinda stumble. Your solution would be gluten free ideas for breakfast, super simple..

"But anyways, just him walking in made me feel confident. But my point is you've got someone who makes you feel that way. So just get a little dose of them. Get a little shot in the arm from them. If you need to before doing that thing where you lack confidence, but you've got to stop thinking about what other people think because you're not going to change their minds, and you're just making things worse for yourself. And is diminishing your own confidence. You also need to stop doing things that don't make you feel good about you, nothing diminishes your confidence. Like doing things that you feel crappy about McGinn example. This happens all the time. And I just need to say right now. Thank you Jesus. This is so weird. I don't know if this is ever happen to you. But this is so weird. I will be thinking a negative unflattering thought about somebody. And let's just say I am so shallow that I've taken a screen shot of their social media. And I am putting together. A text message to say things that are gossipy or judgy or not very kind about this person. And I'm sending it to somebody else every single time every single time. I'm not kidding. That message disappears and on my and every time it disappears. Okay. That was God. That was Jesus saying you are better than this. I'm not kidding. It happened me yesterday. I swear house composing this long message. It wasn't very nice. It was none of my business. I was gossiping. I was being judgy. I was not being a very good person..

"It means that you feel appreciated and recognized when people give you their undivided undistracted attention again, you can see how this would relate to not just romantic relationships. It might be this is how your child experiences love or it might be how someone that you work with feels appreciate. It is not because he gave them a bonus. But because they have your undivided undistracted attention at some point. And then maybe this one isn't appropriate for work the fifth and final large category is what's called physical touch. So it doesn't have to be what you're thinking. It doesn't have to be sexual thing. It can just be, you know, the touching of hands or a gentle brush to the shoulder is just a way that you are you're physically close to each other. So physical touch can be putting your arm around someone it can be holding hands. Of course, it could be sex. It could be intimacy, but that doesn't necessarily apply to the work setting. I hope unless of course, you're married to the CFO in which case, it's fine. But for most people that physical touch is just another way that they feel very emotionally connected to people, and I've talked about this before where I've been in like a yoga class or Ben in the presence of someone who I know is a a healer if you will. And when someone who. Who's very emotionally connected. Just lightly. Touches you. It's just crazy. How connected you can feel. So those are the five broad areas of love languages, all go. Over McGinn so words of affirmation.

"A button-down our flannel shirt with an apron on it. And for me, I always feel almost like naked. If I'm walking into a kitchen, and I'm not in full garb full regalia, the old school military style jacket. But I think that it does it puts Tom in a position of thority, maybe not specifically. But I think probably in the minds of most of the people who work in the kitchen he wouldn't have to wear it to be in a position of authority or to to take that position. But at least that's how it is. For me. I see him walking in with chefs code you stand a little straighter. You get ready because you know, you're about to talk to the boss. Yeah. I'm always on Cesco watch with Tom that makes sense that he's got the gravitas anyway. Like you're saying but by putting the chef code on. He really comes across as like, okay. We're on the same playing field. But clearly, I'm up here. And you're doing what you're doing Graham didn't do it. Like, I said in this episode, even though he is obviously a chef. So I didn't know if there was any real like stricture or rule over when you put the code honor. Not it seems to be a choice like you're saying, and it is a choice that Tom is clearly making to say like, I I respect this. Maybe it's an old school choice. But I so I'm always on chef co watching. I'm it's always fascinating to me when Tom chooses to put it on versus not like, it's not an any kitchen sort of rule. So if they're cooking in the kitchen on the a fairy or they're cooking in like a baseball kitchen, he may not put the chef coat on. But if he's going into someone else's restaurant, or if he's going into a scenario where he's got some really there. Their high level. Yeah. He goes there. He got he has the white coat on for sure, I'll give you a cool piece of a chef wear trivia. The the big stovepipe hats that people the chefs wear like I really hate those. I never wear them. But the reason why the people would wear those hats back in the day. I think this is something that is from French in those old school, European militaries. Is that when you would take your chef into battle with you? But neither side one of the shoot the chef from the other side because if you won you could steal their chef. And so you know, that the guy with the tall hat is the guy you don't wanna shoot because you want you want them to cook your food on next day. That's great. I wonder if there was some sort of battle in the history of wars where like every all the troops disguise themselves at chefs, and nobody knew. Mike. I know you're thinking that they wore those hats. So they could keep a rat in the alley them how to cook the whole time. But there's actually more rat is a thing making it a thing now. Now, there's actually more of a real reason for it. And that's probably why it's white too. So that she would stand out that makes a lot of sense. They oh they come in peace. I guess we should not shoot them. That's really great. I love that. I love that. That's really great. Jim. That's this is why I like Jim not just on the level. Jim I like you not just on the level of being a great chef. But you're like us in many respects about the details of these things and the fine the fine trivia that that takes a great dishes like the salt. Right. You just put a little bit extra in there. And it sings it up. So that's fantastic. I and I think that's where some of these chefs did well with these these these dishes, not note, let's go through the dishes here. And I want to sort of go, I guess, I'll go group by group in terms of them coming out in groups of two or three McGinn sort of talk about the highs or lows here. So let's start with this first group here. Eddie's take on the old fashioned is something that puts him into the top..

"The road is beautiful wto studios in orlando florida you know we're talking about we haven't really touched on the other big topic of the day and that is russia i mean they're using nerve agents to kill their former patriots who are swapped in one case a few years ago living in england and they put both of them in the both the agent and the daughter in the hospital a nerve agent attack that you wouldn't expect to find possibly in syria it's now happening in the uk there's a response and expulsion of twentythree diplomats russians have answered back now germany has hit hidden with sanctions we have hidden with sanctions and i knew this was going to happen they're talking about a world cup boycott can you imagine this even if you're not a soccer fan just no it's the number one sport in the world is bigger than the olympics when the world cup comes their russia got it in a corrupt fashion because feta the governing body we've proven to be extremely corrupt no question about it they paid off to get it it doesn't belong there they actually beat us out four it why would you go in send the british soccer team to russia when you can't even trust that they're going to be okay or the british citizens who want support the team would do it and if i'm germany i follow suit and that will get his attention he hates worldwide embarrassment that's what makes me wonder what he was thinking to green light this operation because he was a boy scout right before the olympics and now right before the world cup he goes ahead and attacks where soccer was founded and that's the england so this to me is a huge risk for four vladimir putin and i don't know how many heard the show yesterday but bill browder snitch national investor and had major investments in russia and his lawyer when they started taking his money and taxing them through the roof when started become clear that russia was not going to be a place to invest they took hundreds of millions of dollars from a lawyer tried to get it back and they basically arrested his lawyer tortured and killed him and the mcginn ski act is an answer to that so they immediately sanctioned a bunch of oligarchs and.
