Novak scores twice as Predators defeat Panthers 7-3
"The national predators beat the Florida Panthers 7 to three in their inter conference matchup. Predators captain Roman Josie putted a goal and added two assists and his defense partner Ryan McDonough registered three helpers and a plus four rating. The predators are among the worst teams in the league on the power play, but Ryan Johansson says, when you get two on the man advantage like they did, it can help in many facets of the game. Right now for a power play to make impacts. It's huge and going out there with that swagger and bringing some juice to our club and so I hope to keep that going. Both the preds and the Panthers are on the outside looking in and need every point they can get as they desperately try to claw their way back into their respective playoff pictures. I'm Jeremy over

Predators beat Capitals 3-2 for third straight win
"Ryan McDonald scored his first goal of the season with three 16 to go in regulation as the predators won their third straight game with a three two win over the capitals. McDonough cap's goalie Charlie lindgren with a nifty move on a breakaway. I think everybody was a little surprised. I was surprised myself. You know obviously you don't get too many breakaways as a defenseman. So like I said, just happy to contribute here and help the guys find a way. Thomas Novak and yakov trenin also scored for the predators while Kevin lockin in May 30 saves. Sonny Milano when Nicholas obey Kublai scored goals for the capitals. Craig heist Washington.

"So I bring it up because as I look at the league and especially the Western Conference, the two LA teams aren't going to miss the playoffs again. Lakers and clippers, Denver, if they're healthy, they're going to be really good. There'll be some drop off, like, say, Utah, for example, won't be as good. But New Orleans is a young up and coming team with Zion Williams from the roster. Memphis, obviously, has the unfortunate injury to Jaron Jackson junior to start the year, but they're young and talented. So I bring it up because those windows are so fleeting. And when you have a 37 year old point guard going on 38 and Chris Paul, who's one of the all time greats and is defied the odds and the aging curve and all that to a historic level, how long can he keep doing that? How long can he be that guy and when Chris Paul is no longer that guy is a team led by Devin Booker and Michael bridges without Chris without theoretically anyways Deandre ayton? Are they good enough to win a championship? I hope so because I love those guys and I'm biased. They're like my sons, but I probably have my doubts about whether they are or not. So that's the tough part. I think whenever you have a chance to compete for championships, you have to take advantage of it. And then also try to keep that window open as long as you can. And then so for me, full bias disclosed with Booker's age and bridges age and 8 and age, I thought and hoped they'd have a longer runway than it seems like they will, but maybe the sun surprises us and match the offer sheet and they are together for the next four or 5 years, but we shall see. Yeah, and if they don't, they still have the fact of not having a center, basically. Biz Mac biombo is not starting to play in 38 minutes a night, I don't think. And JaVale McGee is already going to Dallas. So what do they have left? What are their options in mid July, having waited this long to for this thing to resolve itself? So I don't know, it feels to me like in the moment and again, they've made a lot of good moves the last couple of years. They may have some other plan that we are not privy to and it may manifest in the next couple of days. But as of right now, it looks like they have kind of screwed themselves. All right, moving on to a couple other couple of the teams in situations before I let you go. I was going to ask you, as I was typing up some notes about 24 to 27 hours ago, the jazz having traded Rudy Gobert, having ripped off the band aid having decided this is not going any further than it's gone. It's time to try something new. They're still sitting there with Donovan Mitchell putting out the kind of the messaging out there. They're like, oh, no, no, they're ready to hold on to Donovan Mitchell. I was always skeptical of that and then lo and behold, sometime yesterday afternoon report coming from the athletic that or from, I think, from ESPN. The first report was ESPN saying that there's a possibility or they're not deflecting or they're not turning away offers or whatever. And then it became the athletic saying they're engaged directly with the Knicks, the jazz. Knowing that there's always a fair amount of smoke before we see fire in this league and things can change very quickly. It might change by the time I hit stop on this recorder even.

Recorded a fantastic conversation. Thursday afternoon with Ryan McDonough, former sons GM and the man who of course drafted Deandre ayton a few years back. At the time we recorded dehydrate and was contemplating signing an offer sheet with the pacers was moving toward that. By the time the afternoon was over by the time evening was hitting here in Las Vegas, ayton had not only signed the offer sheet, but the suns had matched. Call off the dogs. I wanna put it on my record. And i was like dude. I'm way down the line here and then last year. When i had cova during thanksgiving tom i was struggling. Not even want to is open. It's funny because but i remember about that two year run you had there. I i don't re- i mean listen. You would know it because you lived it. I don't remember if someone system. Sean mcdonough monday night football. I don't think of the narrative that anyone thought you aren't big enough for it. I do remember what weren't there a lot of. I don't wanna use her controversy because that's really strong but there's a little blowback because you would have our the officials sometimes and i. Don did you get heat from the nfl from espn. Yeah i'm sorry. I didn't mean it. Nonsmoking no no what it yesterday. I never said hey you need to back off on you know. I definitely no in from the league ever directly said but you only know you get the sense that the wasn't happy about the narratives. You know the the ending of of my tenure. Monday night with leonard. Football was strange. Because ill when i got the job the money job john skipper president of espn john. Wild hack was basically the number two and john. Kennedy hired me on wild hack. And then he left very shortly thereafter shadowed objector at the heart of central new york syracuse university and at the end of our second season. You'll remember this. Espn convened a big powell at all the town sports. The bristol basically gave us pep talk. It was john skipper connor shell because the narrative around then was that the slide and in l. day actually did a great job. Telling you don't believe it. We're not gonna lose this property and metric we're going to bid on that when a try this bubba blah you'll the futures brighton. Disney's doing fine and so i i saw stupor on the way out and he kind of padding on the back and said you know you're doing a great job of above above it right up there really feeling good and then a week later. He resigned within days of that. Jon gruden announces. He's leaving and going back to coaching. So no one really knew exactly who was in charge. You know we had several management people who all had kind of similar levels titles They brought The great george bodenheimer back. But he was just you know. they're mixture. I was instructed to do was to try to make it more conversational Make it a little lighter. Bring out more. Jon gruden personality that used to see from climate time. Excuse me on that quarterback show that he did Gb camp um when he when he do a half hour every half hour special all the quarterback prospects and they'll get more storytelling. Which is something that. I've done a lot of koch launch Join costs much. More storytelling for the most part people watching don't know much about the players whereas you know when you're watching nfl game. You really don't wanna know tom brady. S a stamp collection. So he'll mitzvah. It's really not a part of presentation so but i think would be totally candid. Jon gruden enjoyed the show. I call this played ninety six wanda blah blah in the loved telestrator and he told me when i got the job. I don't likes to burgess hill. But he so he didn't want the stories and he didn't really want to engage in conversation. There were times when i would ask them questions. Make a point where he didn't respond. And i think it was just because He was so focused on gonna diabetes play in he. He just didn't wanna do it so there were times when i came across it off the awkward awkward as for me. You know. you're standing there next sunday wondering you know if i asked him a question about this is gonna answer it or is he gonna be annoyed that i asked him or so. It wasn't you. It was uncomfortable. The part of you know now the part of the bothered me. Was you know the narrative sunk people in your line works Must have been a little too big for mcdonagh you know. I did the world series. When i was thirty. I don't think anybody thought i was nervous. Out of place. Maybe a few people did and then all of these other events that we talked about It wasn't but i felt like i was nervous in on the old. This is minor football. 'cause you know big gig. Would i take him learn one of them at a time. So the one that. I'm on now like just trying to learn. How will i works and all that kind of stuff is there is there. Is there any part of you because part of me misses the music days where it was like cds and and i mean i think cds i mean you remember the vinyl days but were you had. You had the notes and all that kind of stuff when i pull it out. The she'd or some of them. Like i never having tool cds where they don't even put a the name of the song is on there and that is there. Is there a party. That mrs that experience you know i. It's a double edged sword. I totally miss buying albums. The vinyl the i miss the size of them. The artwork was bigger and I missed the sized. I missed i can still open it. would have certain smell. You know that was always like. I don't know something appealing about the smell. Especially the albums that you could open you know like this and it became like whole thing of an end photos and artwork. I miss that. I do but what i like about. Cd's is how if you take care of them. You know they sound just as good ten years later in the day you bomb them. I don't miss the snap crackle and pop of the l. slow it's and of course now it's all straining people. Yeah so it's a double edged sword. Yeah now i'm sure on the musician side the streaming parts nice because your immunity just people can get it gets out there you know big artists martyrs or whatever. You're all almost on the same playing field because if people like you're muted they're going to stream it whether you're a big artists or not and you can find all the links on your website and all that stuff is there any shows coming up that you promote. I don't not believe any talk. I know it's that when when covid i had. I had to cancel all those shows. I told you about all shows around my hometown. And then i started revoking thinking. This was going to clear up by summer. Then i had to cancel them all again because we all know did not clear up ice summer last year so this time i don't to make that mistake again so not looking anything until along until i know for sure..

I love denver in colorado and i love santa. Fe's one of my favorite places as so that was really great because the weather was beautiful. Mountains were beautiful. I was most of the gigs went really well. And i was in sedona for gig. Santa fe for just all these sort of magical places on top of having experienced playing music now so i have to say that was really good. Yeah i i might last tour. I had a big tour plan for the east coast. And last year which i had to cancel. But i'm very excited to redo that one. 'cause i want experience the east coast as well. Yeah yeah The east coast. When i've been i'd i drove truck trick for years so i i never like these coasters because when driving truck because it was all packed together like the west market. There is lots of highway between the not city city city. City the kings in here and he He he's a big kiss on. The he mentioned the out. I was furiously. Took an Did some song did some covers. Have you done that on any of your albums where you've covered any songs by very very first cd. I did a cover of fire and rain. By james taylor and this is literally like twenty five years ago and and i did another cover that i can't even remember right now but mainly do that because i didn't have enough material to mitch malone cdc i so that's the only one ever since then. It's all been a violent songs. Yeah so i'm trying to i. I love playing covers. Actually advised by gigs. Play covers that. I i have a great time doing them. But for the cds. I try to stick to my on. The troops are in here. There are actually from canada. That's another place i wanted to. I've been but i haven't played music up here. So that's another goal of mine. Well they they do food review tin on. I know you have a youtube channel as well. So if you guys want to go subscribe to that it's in the description of the video and read sites on there as well The great van life gina. She she's a musician as well. Plays guitar played in bands. And so another one your songs that i wrote down I'm home and now that one. That just the intro. Like as soon as i hit that. And listen to the intro. A hooked me already and you put you put just a little slide guitar at the start of that and that that was. That's what really drew me in. How how is the process right and that one and how did you come up with that one..

She is a beautiful woman and pat you are very lucky to have. I don't know how, but you were very long just saved yourself by the way. Four billion added a year to the school system on top of what is already added. $640. Yeah, Well, how about this? How much is that per person in the state of Maryland? You know, $140 per person, man, Woman and child. You take that by every household it that number $2200. Excellent. Thank you very much great money. So that was delegate Impallaria. And that was great $2200 per year. That's almost $200 a month more per household. For Kerwin and the public schools aren't even open. Correct. Teachers are getting paid. Yep. Administrators were getting paid. That's the one I like. And the fact I think it was a wonderful gesture by the governor when he said, because he is a very wealthy person personally, and I don't regret him. Think he did that on his own? Thank God for him. "Guests, but I I need to tell the Republicans just wood in Annapolis is fighting with a lost cause. The Democrats rule this state hand over fist. There's not a damn thing you can do about it. Because if you don't have more numb numbers, and they do elected number is you don't have a prayer in hell. But it's a numbers game. But there are people who do fight and work hard like Joe and Rick. And there are a lot of sellouts to and people need to know the difference. We can. We can make a difference and we have over two years. First off, we slowed the attack. We held off illegal alien issues for years. And 12 or three people can make a difference. We had a meeting with Governor Bob Ehrlich. It was myself delicate McDonough and don't get weighed. Koch. And he want to talk to us about slots. We don't wanna talk about slots we want to talk about. What is this going on illegal aliens Get in state tuition By the time we walked out of that room. Bob vetoed that bill so because we were there and because we were take important system, and there's numerous examples of us making a difference, But that difference can only be made when you have a strong caucus who's willing to stand up to the governor and will understand up To the Democratic Party. You gotta do you gotta get off your butt. Get out there, even both for election starts. Not going every damn dort. We have to do it as well as Stacey Abrams in Georgia, but I got I think I'm going to defend these two guys because they do that. Got to convert the voters and that Z hardest thing that goes well, you know, Bob, One of the reasons it's let me let me tell you why let me tell you why it's hard to do okay. It's hard to do because the media is totally radical left and they criticize people like Impallaria and Boteler on. It's hard to get through to the people because the people don't pay attention like you do.
