Who decided that they have their version of how to make America great again in a way, they made America great again was by going to the polls voting and definitely wanna give some big ups to a lot of the winters that especially in Democratic Party. A lot of women became congresspeople. Senators we had a very tight and close race of Florida and Georgia in which the the candidates concede. It Stacey atas basically says she's not, you know, she she'd what I liked about Stacy Adams is that what she did was sheeting concede right away. She fought it because she realized that in Georgia. There was some trickery going on. They did the final count and she did lose. However, she said she knock on to stay silent because she felt Georgia failed the voters and in Florida. They did the recounts. And stuff like that. That's another of another of state that they're voting practices of very questionable. But yet still Andrew gillum he conceded. But like I said we had some really interesting things happen. A lot of young people voted which I'm very proud of. But it's going to keep on going. And you know, what they said we've had enough and this is a bowl of Seoul. We wanna play on a love. Let y'all know we've had enough. This too. Title. Bill collect this thing. Thing is. But you know. So the odds report with Brent now posted in its entirety as a segment on all of our different podcasts networks, but being the sl sportsbook setup over there using that promo code TB and the number two hundred one hundred percent deposit metro the sports one hundred percent deposit match bonus for the live casino affect the sl. It's only a game on till you bet it to guests on the program here today was start things off with Joe Everett from NFL draft draft scouts and inside our football. Joe? How's it going today? Man. I'll not bad made it back safe for mobile had way too much seafood. Got a lot of football. In had a really good time down there for the senior bowl was great. Then he got back just in time to freeze your ass off this week. Yeah. I'm down your Wednesday is looking brutal, sir. Yes. It definitely is. So before we get into the NFL stuff here. Let let's talk about that senior bowl experience. Anybody stand out that you weren't expecting a whole lot from or maybe somebody eat works writing a lot from that exceeded your expectations. Well, you'll love this one Terry McLaren from Ohio State, I've got egg all over my face. 'cause he's from the Indianapolis carrier. He went to cathedral high school, you know, really fine Catholic high school here in a lot of those kids go to Notre Dame. But of course, the thing is names, Tony all for one of our better recruiters defected to the buckeyes. And of course, Tony was all over Terry. Mclaren he showed up at the senior bowl just dominated attitude. Energy effort, eight brought to practice was just contagious. You know, some of the other players just start responding off the him and the the contain. He was running even on special teams the effort he shows on that he's got scouts high five and during grills, they're fired up about it. He caught every one I didn't catch everything thrown his way because there was some bad balls those quarterbacks down in mobile. So did not do themselves any favors. I think you know, someone wants to say, oh this quarterback looks the best that may well be. But none of them really looked at that that impressive. But McLaren boy, really quick mover. He's just a nice explosive athlete to just all his movements that guy's playing with his hair on fire. So I did not expect that because you know, I I knew who he was like I said just by location, and boy I'd like to talk to this kid after the first week of practice. Everybody wanted to talk to Terry McLaren. And I think that's the guy. He's gonna get his name called a whole lot earlier as a result of just a fine week of practices. He looked good in the game. And I I don't know. I'm not a fly on the wall in the NFL interviews but talking to teams worn a bet money. He ace does. 'cause the just the way that kid showed up with that attitude. I think that I I can't speak highly enough about somebody that just totally put themselves on the map. That for me McLaren from Ohio State forty out. Joe's work NFL draft bible Andraos scouts and also follow him on Twitter at Joe w Everett for more of his reports there from the senior bowl Joe Super Bowl fifty three that week is finally here Phil like last week took forever. So why still two and a half not really a big surprise there. We will see three a little bit later in the week total down to fifty six now. So maybe a little bit of a surprise there for some people but shirt money coming on the under for this game. Anything changed in your mind from last week when we talked about, you know, aside or the total for this game. Well, definitely might total. I've pretty sure it was paid step Pat under last time we spoke, and that's that's pretty much where I'm at right now. I've I've fortunately I I jumped on under when it was still about fifty eight and got in pets under par lay. Just hey, it's Super Bowl last last one of the years have a little fun. But I think that's why that total went and shot right down. I, you know, all the the pressure on this everything weighing down. I mean almost be willing to play first half under to both these teams they can run the ball, very effectively. And what's more is they want to I think Bill chick would love shorter game. And then the the Rams style of play that play action that they love to us. Well, if they don't have that run game going and really banging then the play action doesn't work. So it's it's an it's actually I think for LA here. So. Yeah. I the total more. So I'm feeling even better. But I still like fifty six I don't think it makes it they're honestly. So that's feeling better even about the total and yet still patriots. It's just this this game ski he should go down in the hall of fame. Grace game schemer of all time both offense and defense. Nothing's ever the same. It's all based on matchup, and I don't see that high total at all. And then I think the patriots sneak another way like agree with you three is is what it'll be. But maybe that's it's not it'd be two and a half by kickoff. All right. So let's talk prop bets because this is what I really want to use to our advantage here on the show joke. You know, you've got that scouting and talent evaluation background. You watched a lot of these players in college. You've written about a lot of these players for various draft guys that things of that sort. So let's start first with the New England offense here here because I think New England while everybody's tired of seeing the patriots in the Super Bowl unless you're a patriots fan. You know, they have a lot of different weapons. There's a lot of different ways. They can go about this game. What do you think in film study, Bill Belichick and Josh mcdaniels are going to see that they can exploit what that Rams defense? And obviously the corollary point to that. You know, what sorts of player props that you'd be looking at with the New England office. Well, the the pats, you know, it's it's an oldie, but a goody little triangle, they're running. It's always gronkowski or whichever tight. They got about the scene of the middle. And then they'll shoot Dorset deep last year. Of course, it was Cooksey. And then they're going to run the crossers and the slants at settlement. They've always got those maximum flat. So I think the screen game's going to be strong here with James white auto know about a big game from HOGAN, he seems to be more of the additive this offense, especially in this year's Persian of put the the real worry is that the run games crashing so hard. But I don't think they could they probably don't want to go away from that too much. So it it's difficult to just jump on passing props. But I still think they'll have their way because you know, there's so much to be made about Wade Phillips knowing all about Bella chicks off it. Well. The belt chick even put it in the in the headlines. Like wait hasn't changed his defense since since the eighties. You know, basically the same scheme, but works, but I think that aggressive scheme and not being able to get pressure off the edges. They can't rank contain what they do is. They get Donald brokers and sue up the middle. So I think you know, the short passing game. That's where it's it's really going to be at the one shocker, you know, following players from from, you know, college sometimes high school into college and on Phillip or sets plane his tail off watch them in that last game. You know, I've seen him previews here in India. And it just didn't never thought it would click, but I'll be damned lightbulb isn't on. He's playing like a real receiver and more importantly he's blocking like an animal out there a couple of plays and that championship game. I couldn't believe it. I never thought he'd block like that in his life. So boy, you get in Foxborough, and all of a sudden crazy things happen. And so I'd be willing to look at a door set over on yardage because with him that speed. He's got he really is electric, and it only takes one catch, and he could really get that. I think wherever the yardage is. I don't have a specific number. But I feel very good that he could get to sixty with with just two catches a very possible. And the way they're using them to like, I said, he's basically in that Brandin cooks role used to stretch the defense, then and basically, you know, get the numbers broken down for him. So I like his yardage. And then I also like James white on the receptions. I that's how they have to make the Shane's move there. I think getting him matched up against Cory Littleton is is where they'll be able to make some. Hey, Sony, Michelle's have really great runner, but he's just not as accomplished receiver that white is and outage it did never fails Super Bowl championship game. James white catching passes something. I think we count on. I would wager though that like that that receptions, prop is probably going to be pretty juicy but still I I've got confidence. He's gonna catch nine balls that I don't see little in keeping up with him and space, and even if it's not little and Johnson the safety white we'll have success in the passing game. So those would be the two pats offensive props. I like. Yeah. Look at door set right now, and you've got receiving your twenty eight and a half over at five times the over under both minus one ten there again shop around for the best prices on all of these player props and really everything you're doing for the Super Bowl longest reception prov over under fourteen and a half yards over a bed online the over minus one twenty there. There was not expected to be that busy over under two and a half under minus one fifty five. But as Joe said, you know, for receiving yards prop doesn't take much room to get over that James white pass, receptions, four and a half over a dollar ninety over at five times right now, but again shop around because there's a lot of different options here for the Super Bowl. Lot of you know, you've got derivative pro betting options first quarter, receptions, first half, receptions, things of that sort you mentioned Cory Littleton. And this is one that I'll talk about throughout the week here. You know, I think Littleton no matter what the patriots do offense. If they run the football or if. They used James white a lot in the passing game as you just mentioned would Hilton's gonna have to be around the ball at ton here. I saw seven and a half over minus two twentieth line, which isn't great. I saw eight and a half minus one ten inch way for tackles and assist at five times for Cory Littleton. He's gotta be around the football game for the Rams doesn't. He. Oh, yeah. No. I like the over on that because system basically dictates he has to be there. He plays a hundred percent of the snaps. He rarely the only way he doesn't as if it's an injury. So he's going to be on the field the entire time. And that's where Bella check. I think is going to work the mismatches. If it's not the the running backs on him he'll have to cover gronkowski in some instances. And even if it's not gronk flat out their best run defender. Do you know the patriots are gonna dial up plenty of runs whether it's birkhead Michelle whoever and that will be right up to little thin, and they basically eat up blockers to get him that free released to go. Make the plays in space. So I it's designed to be him. Yeah. I would. That's also why that tackles. That's why it's up there. But still very confident that if it's total tackles, he's he's probably getting in double digits because. The the patriots are just gonna nor the run that they want to more so than anything so Littleton. You're right. He's gonna have a busy day. No it's talking about Tom Brady and Tom Brady in the you can find him anywhere from plus one twenty five two minus one forty or my I think minus one six even Bo bottle to win the MVP here. You know, we haven't had an offense. If player that wasn't a quarterback win this since Super Bowl forty three with Santoni. Oh home. So even offense guy's gonna win it. It'll probably be either Brady your off. But what sorts of numbers? Do. You think Brady's gonna put up here? I mean, his passing yards prop anywhere from the mid to nineties just above three hundred you know. You know, is there going to be that much of a downfield threat or the patriots to score to control the clock and control the ball? What do you think Brady does here in this game? Because as you mentioned already, you know, New England's having so much success that running game you think that they may kind of stick to that a little bit. Yeah. That numbers right on there. I I would there'd be dicey to deal with that. Because it just like a mentioned, you know, they'll certainly take their shots, and they have to work the short passing game to an extent. But if you know, if it ain't broke don't fix it kind of thing that that run games working, and they're not going to stray away from it. So and he'd have a successful game. Even if it was just two hundred eighty yards, you know, high completion percentage and doesn't turn the ball over there fine with that. So yeah, I don't know that I jump on her over there because I think he's just they're looking for inefficient game that they're looking to feed them. And and you know, just take what the defense gives them. And I think that's kind of how you have to play not saying that Wade's gonna be himself by any means, but I just have to react and wait to wait gets aggressive and kinda beat him. He's not, you know, like, a madman. Unlike Greg Williams, almost but Wade we'll take his chances. He he got around say it's complacency, but he'll get bored. He'll really start firing the dogs and Bella Bellichik await and that's the difficulty in a game. Like that is you know, you only get those that that many shots. So I I would I'm not saying I'm playing hundred on that yardage for Tommy be. But I don't like an over at all. By the way, last running back to win MVP. And I don't think it happens this year with timeshares that we've gotten both backfield's Super Bowl thirty two Terrell Davis. The last running back to win the Super Bowl MVP. What about this Rams defensive line? You mentioned that they just kind of eat up blocks. Let Cory Littleton run around Aaron Donald twenty and a half sacks in the regular season ram sex over under minus one and a half varying juice out there in the marketplace. What do you think how much success can the Rams have getting in the backfield? Here you think they can get a couple of sex and Tom Brady. What if they get three or more sex? That's gonna go along way and decided that game I would say, no. And I almost thought I'm very confident. I'd I'd better than under on that. I dont they start Nekia the job. He's done this year and the transformation at Trent Brown left tackle, I'd say, you know, I talked to this kid when he was at Florida and thought maybe he'll survive in the league, he does have the size, but intelligence, whereas it at there's coaching in done in New England there that that that guy one of the best in the business for reason. And I think he's schemes it out there prepared they run max protect to keep guys like Brocker into bay. But Donald that's the x factor. He is just so damn town at he could beat double teams could just beat a guy with one arm, and it's it's just freakish some of the strength. He has in his hands Manhattan's. That's that's definitely Donald. So I don't see him getting their double digits in this game. Obviously, they do not w but a twice or more. I I don't I don't think they're gonna get it done if it happens. So boy that that that start deciding some things because when Brady gets beat I've got flashbacks to those giants games. That's that's the recipe to beat New England at reminisce steps up the middle twists inside. And getting the pressure up the begats and Brady's face. That's that's their hope. And they do they do have the talent to get it done. It's just what I think the the pats are gonna be prepared for that. Like, I think a lot of max protects going to be in order on Sunday. What about Marcus Peters? Keep to leave. You know, obviously, you've got five to one for that. For either one of those guys to record an interception here in this game. And who knows maybe Brady doesn't even turn the football over. How do you feel like those guys are going to match up on the outside? Well, I definitely would stay away from Peter's. I'm not gonna say he's playing hurt. But that's not the same beaters. I've seen in Kansas City days. It's just been a rough season on him. I I don't know if it's the scheme change is much as it is just scenery change. And like, I said vibes flat out there. Maybe an injury. We don't know about telly though, he is still I don't I don't think he's he's probably downhill right from now. I mean, I it's it's not gonna get any better. The basically he's turned into the later version of Nandi. Awesome. Wa you know, he better win breakfast. 'cause he's eating eaten alive. Dinner speed receivers to get open against him. So and I I don't feel confident that he those guys get turnover, and that's part of the Rams problem. And these guys are name value players still like the the glitz and. Glamour of Peter's, and they keep to leap on the Placker there. But what what they actually play like, it's it's so like not what you're paying for in LA. But be that as it may. I I I don't think they show up and play. I think they're doing a lot of chirping and talk and pre-game. And then when we actually they blow the whistle. They're going to start getting burned out there. I'm I've been very it was a former Bronco's fan to to leave. I was kind of happy to see him. Go. All right. So let's start what the Rams I mean. Obviously, the the patriots are difficult because of all the weapons that they have and all the different ways that that. Jasper Geico's and Bill Belichick and go about this thing. The Rams are difficult in that. There are a new comer to this party Jared Goff his first Super Bowl start only his fourth playoff game start overall. You've got a lot of weapons for this Rams team too. But it does seem like Todd Gurley. Severely banged up. Brandin cooks, obviously, very familiar with the patriots. So for me prop betting standpoint here with the Rams offense. Joe, what do you think where do you think we may have some matchups to export? Yeah. Get that play action going for the Rams they it's their life. But if they don't get that going in the run game move and strong. Then a lot of what they love to do. Just flat out isn't there? But the worry is Bella check in that chameleon defense. You know, what it takes away what you do best. And I think what they're going to really lock down the run game. Mike, that's not only that. But girly where he's been playing. And what he what he is at this point in the season. Sure. CJ Anderson's playing better. But I think they they they little load up clamp down on the running game. And as a result. I think I'd feel good about it Todd Gurley under on yardage. I don't think it's it's ensure they'll probably think it's you know, water torture, just a bunch of drops and eventually the dam breaks. But I I don't see this damn break and girl, he's not going to be the one to do it. Maybe. Anderson gets there. But I think since we seven week eight midseason, that's that's when girly hit a wall. I'm I know for fact, it's just that's not the same guy from week one. So not to pick on Todd because he's a good guy but you're on his yardage. I think I feel good about other than Robert woods. A win lose or draw with the has to have a day. Even if they jump out to a lead. He's still there chain mover key third downs. Basically plan that Cooper Cup row of all his routes the underneath the those crossers deeper slants like he is the focal point. Now, we're we're we're Cup healthy in this game. I would I would take yardage over on Cooper cop. But I still feel good about woods. Like, I say, they they build the the big lead. They still need him to to convert. And and especially you love it if they get down early. And have to start to come back campaign. There's I think there's you could get this prop and hit it a lot of different ways. And I don't think it's a ton of yards either. If I remember seeing ride it was just seventy some odd seventy five depending on where you get it. But I think he's he's the receiving leader the game and essential issue. If the Rams jump out to a huge lead. But I don't see that happening. I don't know that he's gonna catch ten passes. I might not be as readily acceptable for perceptions prop. But I really liked the Arctic. It's just once again similar too little on defense similar to James white on the pats offense. These are just things that no matter which game they're playing no matter the opponent. They kind of have to happen. I mean yards for would sits I it's just part of their offense. Not only that take some shots with them. But like like, I said this. That's there. Mover right now in effect there folk who per Cup. So that's who I'm betting on. And definitely we'll have that one before kickoff. Robert woods, seventy and a half receiving yards. Minus one ten each way over five times, receptions, five and a half minus a dollar thirty five to the over. So does speak to what you were saying there Joe about you know, woods like he has to be a big factor here for the Rams offense, and you know, certainly with the state of the running game. And and with the idea that, you know, Bella check may take that running game away while you should be very interesting there. What about Brandin cooks five and a half, the receptions, total under a dollar excuse me dollar fifty over at five times seventy five and a half yards. The line for that under minus one twenty five this Brandin cooks have revenge game here against the patriots. Or you know, is is Bella check able to take him away. I'd like to say Cooksey exact some revenge. But you know, really the patriots should be wanting revenge on him if I remember, right? And that Super Bowl last year. He just got Kayode because he made one too many Jukes. And that was all she wrote in the first sport or for him in that game. So really kind of left those. to mind dry, but I don't think he gets revenge game. And the biggest problem there is match up their best corner. I think he goes on cooks the civically their fastest corner. Gilmore is not only a very skilled player. But I think he's the only one that can really run with cooks and that four three speedy Scott. And then that leaves the other mccourty on woods. I don't know if they want to switch it up and get jumping Jones or Dawson out there. I I really don't think they've got a good answer for woods on the other side. But then if I'm wrong and Gilmore man's up on woods than Troy cooks. Good potentially get a lot of deep shots. But I don't see Bella check allowing that to happen, and he is full aware more. So than anybody than having him in in the building of that speed. So I think Mela chick fears that deep speed cook. Wchs. And he makes sure they run a bracket over there. Not not double. But they're they're going to be very aware. What side of the field cooks is on. And they're gonna make sure that he does not kill him deep. If anything he may get lucky with a shot or two still I did I would be a feared of taking any over with cooks or or feeling a revenge game as opposed to like, I think that's one thing. That's like so many times people think the number one receiver. That's what Bill checks gonna take away most times it's stuff speed receiver that he fears the most when when they play the Texans, and they're fully healthy. I can guarantee you Bella Bella checks spending a whole week talking about will fuller in that speed and not a new copy and he's same. We cannot get killed with these deep shots. And that's that's probably going to be an agenda on up on the whiteboard is Mike guess, so I would I'd not be barking up cooks tree for this game is my thoughts. Last guy. I'll ask you about here. Joe Jared Goff could very well. Be the key to this game. If he's not rattled by the atmosphere. If he's not rattled by this patriots game plan against him. Maybe the Rams have much not maybe. But the Rams would have a much better shot here off passing yards to eighty five and a half or thereabouts. You know, some places juicing the over a little bit there one and a half to two TD passes about where you're going to see this line. How does Jared Goff fair in the Super Bowl in your mind? Joe? He is the key to the game. I believe that. That's where it may. Go wrong for the pats or strip of the ranch because patriots they love to get that that that timing the schedule and once once he's Atta structure Goff tends to to to really start to to make his mistakes and really struggle. And he doesn't get those base that planted feet on his throws. It's it's it's a whole different story. He is a good little player, but he's not gonna make those sandlot Mahomes. Russell Wilson plays. He's he's more of the traditional state quarterback. I don't want to call them a statue. But he's a bit of that style where it's gotta be a clean pocket. And that's where the biggest issue is going to be for these Rams is protecting him and making sure that guys looked trae flowers, and and the interior that PAT's D doesn't get to him. And if. There's any kind of pressure. I seek off getting rattled. There's been some really difficult games to watch towards the end of the season. And I just look back at it. Any of those games Goff played against winning teams? That's when the bugaboos started surf the Senate. It's just, you know, the real turnovers that he had I really I would just make sure if people feel strongly about a Goth prop go back and watch some of those games against teams with winning records. And you know, maybe get the real one third downs for him. He's not been good on third down either. So it's I agree with what said I think that is the the key. If Gough doesn't get rattled and his able to sit in there with clean pocket Ramsey gotta shot. But I do not see that happening. I think of the Florez bell check that that defense improved. They're gonna find ways to get the photo. And he's not going to be looking like captain coup in this one. Joe ever who's working and find at NFL draft by draft scouts and insider football at Joe w Everett on Twitter. Appreciate the time. As always Joe, dick you so much for joining me, man. We'll talk to you again real soon. All right. Looking forward to it.

How you doing buddy tough night for Matt Patricia hope tonight for everybody. Everybody. Goodness gracious. Everyone is not named Bill Bill. Check seem like it's made. I have some information for you in ten years the hatred. I concur. This county four. No, no one's gonna. Well. I mean the effort let's be clear they don't care right now. They'll take it. But I'm saying no one will care in ten years. They're just going to add another one and was just, you know, listen, the patriots played odds better than anybody. Maybe in the extreme sports if you play nine Super Bowls, you have eight epochs at some point you're going to have a clunker. And this was the clunker. By the way, the clunker the deficit clunker here is limiting the most innovative head coach and football at this point two zero touchdowns and three point. So this is a very narrow definition we've been spoiled by a very strange offensive season most touchdowns in history. And now Bill Belichick is Sean MC DAT. Make. Vase dad, he stole McVeigh's lunch money in this game. It was incredible. Is his dad is Sean McVeigh Bill checks large adults on it. I it still. I'm still having trouble processing we were sitting here. It's to seventeen AM eastern time. The game ended a few hours ago, and I still. Haven't wrap my mind around what Bill bell check accomplish tonight. I will say before we get into the nitty gritty on this. I do want to say we're going to forget Wade Phillips performance and all he was mazing yet. It's let's not forget it. However, let's not spend too much Phelps who has Bill. Check won the Super Bowl. We had arguably the two best defensive game planners of all time coaching tonight and Bilbao check just happens to be the better one. I will say this. I think that we're gonna reclaim this in five or six years at like sort of a hipster tape grinder lake genre game where we're gonna talk about this game in a way. We don't talk about a Super Bowl is because the defensive schemes were so great, and so cool, and so unpredictable. So I think that in like I think in a few years we're on a talk about this game. Maybe more than we think maybe more than somebody with you for balls. I mean, some of the really bad Super Bowl stuff like Baltimore versus versus giants. You know? I think Denver Carolina. Those just fade in the history. I don't necessarily sit happening on this one. Because the schemes were so good. Well, it's I think the reason this one this one won't fade into history is that it's kind of a jewel in like the bell. Check dynasty, if it's the Jew and his legacy. We're gonna look back on this in the same way that we will look back on the two thousand and one game not with narrative, but just how it fits into. What has made him? Great. What he did tonight? We can start. Getting into it. If you want to if that's the place to start what McVeigh does so. Well, and would have is MC mate, what has made McVay great. Is it McVay as such a solid understanding of how defensive rules work and his entire offense is designed to take advantage of specific roles and specific jobs of defensive players. Yeah. What Bella check did was. He said everything we've put on tape about how our defence works. You can forget that because we're not doing that tonight. So that stuff that they do so. Well, the Rams they weren't able to do it because they weren't seeing the stuff that the patriots Donald year. There's no way to know the rules because the patriots are doing things that they'd never shown. So how could you possibly know them? I mean, the whole thing was quite incredible bullets start big picture like you said they played more zone than the Ramsey when anticipated you know, in their wildest dreams. I mean, like eight out of every ten. Yes, anybody and that was just not something into and. Angela with set at a couple other ram set. It said it McVay said it McVay, by the way to his credit said he got out coach always said he got he was very open about there's not a hell of a lie. You can say about them. No. I think that there's there's a couple of things to unpack in this specific matchup number one. You know, you talk about the crown jewel part of it. And I totally agree. I just think that this just reinforced everything we knew about them, you know, Roger Sherman, and I had a debated an aquarium day for a video, and we and we're doing a week, and we were doing a bit on just too many to be on who the greatest coach of all time. And Roger earnestly said he thinks that one of the points against Bill. Check is that someone like Bill Walsh had something that he invented and it spread and that sort of was very simple. And then was a system was that implemented all place, and that is true. And I would say those certain other there's certain other innovations. Two is one of them where it was invented. And then you know, half the league was running. You know, jed fish today said that Pete Carroll is an innovator. We don't think about enough because he's at his eight seven or eight teams right now running the Seattle defense. And most of them are are in the top ten bell. Check doesn't have that that specific semantic legacy. That's why he's great. No. But here's but here's this. Yes. And that's what I'm getting at the only thing he's invented himself and the patriots. And he does it every week. And he doesn't have a, you know, a thing to replicate because there's nothing there. He's like his team is Kaiser so's I mean, like they just they build their they're then they're not they're not the greatest trick Bill Belgique ever pulled as it is that he ever had a scheme. He do create something new every single week. And so we just saw a new patriots teamed played zone. And I you know was him line. Games. They played six on the line. Yes. But I'm just saying that I just don't understand. And we've tried this a lot. But I don't understand how you doing at the patriots. If you hate the patriots because you're a jets fan or that's fine. If you had the patriots because you cheat near like, super NS, sportsmanship, whatever let's run deal. But if you're bored by the patriots, that's on you. Yeah. They are with you. Amazing. Yeah. And so this time was so fascinating on so many levels. And you're right. It's because they can just kind of put on whatever outfit. They want at any point it whatever the game costs for they can do. And they've done that over the years. Yeah. But this game was so interesting because it's that. But it's also stuff we've seen forever. They ran at Haas wide you three times on the same drive, including that huge play gronkowski that plays been in the patriots playbook since two thousand it's the same play that we've seen Fernandez run that we've seen Welker run that. It's just like all the same stuff is still there. Air. It's for me. It's not even just that. They haven't invented things that maintain. It's just that they can be whatever they want in any moment. And sometimes that's going back to stuff they've used for the past two decades. Sometimes it's doing stuff we've never seen them do before any single choice schematically and otherwise is on the table for them. And it just why they're able to handle any scenario. They can do anything yet. It's it's a major marketable. I'm still just like blown away by it was a boring game. But just kind of sitting back and considering the totality of what he just did. I just had me I was kind of joking about because they're actually like, you know, Dan, Day-Lewis gets so into. He just becomes like a dressmaker something like the patriots decided they were zone team. And then they just became the best zone team. Yes. Daniel Day-Lewis and the patriots are one in the same market down. Guys. We did it it. What that did? Is it just Goffin no early options that sucked? That. Okay, live. But like the man golf he was really bad in that game. And it's one of those things where Jared Goff is not an anticipation thrower. He needs windows throw the ball. He needs guys to be open. He doesn't throw guys open. He sees guys. Open them the ball when they're playing so much Zona just flooding. The back end of the defense that stuff wasn't coming open. And that was a problem because he's not going to succeed in that scenario. The cooks miss touchdown that happens because he's not diagnosing plays quickly that had heaven instantaneously that's a score. But it doesn't everything was half a second one second later than it should have been. And that was the issue the entire game. I mean, he and golf he and McVeigh just they were bad. There's no way around it. They were bad tonight. But I don't think this is a referendum. On McVay in golf in general. I think this is just Bella chick. I wanna get into that. You know, Jeff Schwartz made the point on Twitter, which that was was correct. Which is big McVay. Didn't have anything new. You gotta have new shit. You know, it's the Super Bowl, and you know, Bella checks going to have something. Yeah. And my career acidy is whether or not what McVeigh learns from this is this going to be sure the lead anecdote in a Robert Mays or Gregg Bishop or southern Shan profile and five years where he's won his second Super Bowl. And he's saying, you know, right now, it's it's two twenty five right now is he at the Buckhead Marriott, or whatever the hell, whatever damn Buckhead hotel Darren there, the bucket Marriott. They were staying across across the street yet, so hotel. Yeah, W, I think I I can't I dunno here, whatever. And and he see right is he is he building something right now. I guess probably us and that that determines because what I what I find fascinating is all of the teams. That the patriots played in this mini run. Whether that's Seattle. Whether that's Atlanta. That's what Elfi last year. None of them have come back now. And it's really hard to win an teaches you a lot about the fact that patriots make it every year. And those teams don't I mean, the fact that Seattle hasn't come if you were to tell if you were to say Seattle was not coming back. You'd be shocked if you were to know that the eagles were the sixty this year you'd be shocked on this night. And so it's really hard to sit here and say the Rams won't be back in contention next year. But also, it's really freaking hard to get back to this. And so I think this is an inflection point in the Rams franchise aboard or not McVeigh can can win these sorts of games going forward against the elite elite defensive play golf. There's only one Bill. Check did use. You a Steve Harvey said the other day. No, okay. This is. Steve Harvey hosted the NFL honors. I only saw clip, and I actually wrote this in the piece, but he said he started out with saying like graduations to the reason we're all here tonight is Tom Brady, and they show like to Shawn Watson and Patrick Mahomes, these guys and everyone's like puzzled and he says if it wasn't for Tom Brady some of you will be playing in the Super Bowl tomorrow. Not here that's true of every single year. That's what it is point. I'm getting at is that there's only one Brady and ballot check and there's certain people in this league. Just kept to wait until they age out. Yes, we were. I was thinking about it today. And you know, the Rams the Rams and second I think what you said is correct. I think they're timeline now becomes super interesting. But when we talk about going all in in the NFL right now, we talk about really going for it the team you are building is the team to be to beat the patriots. That's what you're doing because every single championship if a do like the patriots own exists. You know what I'm saying? It's not. Not it. It's not like a schematic team. It's just the quality name overdosed that you're trying to beat the page. That's not what I mean. It's not about trying to find different weaknesses in their roster building. It's you're trying to build the best team possible to beat New England. It's the same way. Like with teams are doing with the warriors right now in the NBA, right? You're not building something specifically to be the warriors on personnel basis. You'll be a building the best possible super team to compete with this one because every single team in the CBA era in the modern CBA era has had to beat the patriots to win the Super Bowl except the two thousand thirteen Seahawks. Do by the way, shouts to Doug. Peterson amazing amazing what they did. And that's the thing you have to be perfect to beat the same. And the eagles were and the patriots. The Rams wanted to do the same thing. The Rams try to build this super team in order to have this perfect roster to beat New England, and they couldn't do it. And now we're sitting there with these choices they made kind of despite their long term future. And now they didn't get it that news it hurt. In worse is knowing that you made these sorts of financial draft capital everything commitments, and you still didn't get there. We're looking at thirty five million in cap space for the Rams Dante Fowler, Dhamma consumer Marcus joiner, Roger Sappho. They're all free ages. Marcus Peters is coming becoming up next year. The golf thing looms. The golfing is just I don't even know where you go with. It's put out to them saying we had this discussion like last week about how the Rams window is shorter than it seems. And now, it's even more. Everybody's windows short events. Right patriots whose windows exaggerate forever. It's a Hugh the patriots. Everybody else is very small window in the patriots live in one of those in black mirror. Every single home is just this huge glass yell their window. Yes. Just like one huge glasshouse. But it's everyone's windows short. But it's more glaring, and it hurts even more with the Rams just because they went so hard to do this. All right before we move on. Let's take a quick break. Yes, what let's talk about this. What the hell? What are we doing? I. So by the way, congratulations to Trump gray for finally forgetting a football player. It's Todd Gurley was sitting there, and I asked him this. And he didn't have a good answer girly McVeigh. I said did you was there anything specific? They were doing that lead. You to believe you couldn't throw the ball to him because they blitz on fifty percent of their downs. Yeah. We have arguably the best screen team in the league. That's not the chiefs. How do you not through one screen pass to Todd Gurley in this game? They're bringing five or six guys on half of their drawbacks. It just makes no sense. What did he actually will Zac? It was just kinda you know, they're doing certain stuff. And you you wanna get out of the rhythm of your play calling. It was a non answer. I was really curious if there was a coverage they were playing or something. They were doing to them where he thought we can't do this. We can't use our screen game. We can't throw him the ball. And I just strange it was so odd because when you watch him run, and when you hear everything that McVeigh had to say is he healthy? I don't know. Maze. Feel so weird to watch that game. And to not have him be a bigger part of the game plan. I understand they couldn't run the ball. Very well because the Rams are playing with six guys up front. They're essentially daring you to run outside which they did. Well, a couple of times we didn't we saw barely saw any toss place. And we did not see any screens McVeigh's did such a good job over the last two years. A finding ways to manufacture Todd Gurley. Touches if the even if you're running the line of scrimmaging two point eight year to carry he did such a good job of getting the ball on his hands in order to let him feel himself in in the open space in order to kind of get yourself going in these artificial ways. And we saw none of that tonight. The only running back through the to a CJ Andrew. Jason. I never he tying them two hundred a coach, but I would not throw the ball to see Chander. Some may the one play worked at one on the new left flat. Whereas nearly picked and he got around Hightower. The thing about I feel like the patriots game plan for the last two weeks is a little different obviously against the chiefs in the Rams, but in this league in this year where the world has become so often Centric and offenses of dictated the season. It was incredible to watch the patriots saying consecutive games against the two officers and football. We are dictating the game to you. We are not going to sit back and let you do whatever you want. We are going to blitz and stunt and just it was such a proactive choice. And I think that's why it was so impressive. I wanna say I want to bring up the other side of the borrow quick. Because I don't know if you saw this. Did you see that every single team? The patriots played in the playoffs had their lowest pressure rate of the seasons mazing against the patriots in these playoffs. It it's we knew if the Rams were going gonna have a chance that Donald ensue in the pass rush is gonna have to consume did sue play in this game. He did nothing. He had that one play where he kind of just bull rush cannon right back into Brown knocked him over that was it. No, not not impressed had one pressure one. And there is I think that I mean the Rams secondary. Actually, a very good job in this game for the most part made again Wade Phillips was fantastic. It's the same kind of thing. I mean, they mixing up a lot of man's own Brady had no idea what was coming for the first half. And he just wasn't play. Very well it wasn't. It wasn't like Brady was lights out at all. No. But he was lights out on that. Touchdown. Did you see Julian Ataman Ducey his separate? Today. It was unbelievable point one three point nine nine. It was more than three yards three yards or target target. Yes. Which is outrageous because tight covered is is less than one yard. So if you're one point one yards away, it's not hers, you're considered open. He was cooking guys in when they run, man. Just cooking them. He was fantastic tonight. The two throws bring out eight his whole fan thing though, we got us. Yeah. It's it's I mean, it's so strange to element is one of the best playoff players. Do we have do the white? Can't. We just say we love joy, Donald men. He's great. He's unbelievable. He's unbelievable playoff layer. We don't have to put everyone in the hall of Agri. We do rob gronkowski in there though. I mean, rob Caskey's. Maybe like the best thing is the best tight end ever. But I'm not I mean, rob gronkowski was huge in the biggest moments. I mean at twenty nine except in one the game. And those two throws from Brady on that drive. Somebody tweeted about it. And so it was like those were pretty average. They just look really good. Because this game was way. What the cat thoughts cat? Both. Tom Brady's throws the gronk in that. I'm not drive fucking gorgeous. I be wanting to deletes over social media. It would they were beautiful throws the throw, and this is just let me little tiny design stuff. But the play action one to gronk down the right silent start that dry. It was just a little hesitation a we've on eb Cam, maybe or somebody somebody was supposed to be covering him. And he blocked him for just a second. And then just kind of almost dipped like a pass rusher around is an amazing release and that ball just could not be more perfect touch slow from Brady and the one in the down the seam. I'm still trying to figure out what little was doing on that play because I saw him scrambling late to get to gronk in the seem. I don't know if he was trying to disguise in the middle of the field, or he just didn't know where he was supposed to be. But he was really late getting there, and that's all they needed. And then that's that was the Hosoi ju- pie. They're right over and over again. It's just a tight end seem and then when you have to split high safeties Eshelman is supposed to take advantage of the mic just in the middle of the field. He can't covered you wait at him and Milton had to on a. Couple of those plays. It just they knew it was working in the kept going to going to the same thing over and over and over again is sign of a really confident really good coach one hundred percent, and that's Josh mcdaniels. Yup. And if I may drop nugget here, we'll nugget I was talking to somebody with chiefs. And they were saying one of the big things that happened over the past couple of years is Matt Nagy convinced Andy Reid to become more of a play repeater. Yeah. And Nike's brought that to Chicago. But they they think that's one of the things that really help Andy's Andy love just the big playbook. Just this something fair was two to his Dan. And Nagy was like, why don't we, you know, this play just hasn't been stopped. Why don't we just keep running until I stop it? And you think about somebody like Andy being helped by that? And then you know, jockey, Dan Lewis has been doing that for a very long time. And I think that is the sign of someone who just wants to do will works. And I think that we saw that tonight. It's just just keep going. Going buddy. The patriots don't care how it gets done. They just don't give a shit if it's the same plane over over again fine. If it's something different every play fine. They also zone. Quick throws into the flat today aren't exciting place. But it's like seven years. They're seven yards here. It just they don't care. It also gets to you know, how many times Belcher talked about like run by Brun pass balance. He doesn't care about any of this. He does not care. He brought a wasn't a staff James Devlin played more snaps in the apes chimp became than any fullback new game enshrined. No, it wasn't like the last like seven AFC championship. Oh, yeah. What do we like it was just ridiculous? And then you think we'll maybe James Devlin can have a big game. No. Now. No, yeah. But they did. I was so impressed at the end of that game. Obviously the offensive line played fantastic period. A great job in the end of that game where they get the ball down there after the Gulf pick. Yep. And it's just like we're just going to we're going to look this. Now, we're going to squeeze the life out of this game. And just crushing dudes. Demi the push that canon got on the double team that led to the really long Michelle run that late in the game those monsters. I mean, those guys are just they really really really set the tone of that final drive, and they were so impressive the entire season. But tonight, they brought it again, I was on russillo today. And we talked about this in it's not going to happen because he's seventy years old. If you're like Daniel Snyder, why are we not just giving Dante's cornucopia blank check. He's the greatest present saying, let's sort this out. I don't know who else would it be. Greatest position coast in the history of football. I'd have to think about that. He has been a staple of the greatest dynasty in sports entire existence for twenty years. It is a great could win wins above replacement because when he talked and the guy that replaced him was the guy who the offensive line coach for the colts this year who was fantastic. So that's how good Dante's karanicki is that he was the drop between him and a guy who was arguably the second best offense a line coach in the league. This year was a massive. It's crazy. The the dude there is no one has ever coached offensive line like him. I don't think I don't know who else it would possibly be just the results. He reminds made it's offensive line. So it doesn't get the same buzz. But he reminds me of like, Leo Mazzone with the Atlanta Braves. Yes. Where it's like, okay. They got Maddox and Smoltz these guys within it's just like, oh, we found some random guy with the reds up. Wait. Sorry. He's he's an all star James Andrews. Yeah. That's exactly what James David, David. And I'm sorry, James. Let's not distract. You do amazing thing center. They'd be fine Andrews had a couple Reese blocks today inches, but go ahead. I mean, just they on sue. And it's just like this was an undrafted free agent. He's one of the better centers in the entire league. Now, I need to talk about David Andrews because it was sort of poignant moment where I I walked downstairs, and I was with the patriots. And I have to be completely honest with you. It was not it was not exciting some of the players on, you know, Nick, Syria. I saw like Bret bielema like kind of exhaled like it wasn't like a we did it. It was just kinda like well that's over. Yeah. Man. What does this vibe here? And I went into the with the players we're talking and David Andrews was there and local columns. I I don't really know what he was getting that was like is this ever get old and David Andries out won two. Superbowl has been three. Obviously his his answer. It was not like phony enthusiasm wasn't anything. He was just like, no. That's that. That's the wrong word to use. And it was almost getting angry as Jetta talk about it. Just the understand that yet. They might have worked cave is like speech and wasn't on transport. I don't think anybody recorded. I feel bad wrote it down. But he was just like this. The most amazing few in the world you dreamed about this with the aid is is basically saying without saying that it's insulting for us to say that it gets old. It would never go fan from that moment on I was walking around, and I was gonna people, and you just realize that these guys are just tired and they're beaten down exactly, right. When I was in the locker room after Arizona, Arizona game against Seattle the Malcolm Butler game. However, you wanna phrase that? And then in Houston when they play the falcons, there was way more exuberance because there was just pure shock at both of those. Yeah, they yeah. They didn't know they were gonna win. It's right. Exac, right. This game. Also, I think sappy energy from everyone. So you just don't when I was with Andrew you just sort of realized that these guys even though it might seem like they didn't care they really really really cared. And I think sometimes because it's the patriots dynasty because all of these things run together. We forget the human element of the patriots. And general I'm with you on that. I feel the exact same way. I think they would we do discount. Just the magnitude of what this department fifty two players who really really care genuinely care and then Brady umbrella check won't stop talking about everybody. Counted them out. Yeah. That's all anybody cares about ballot. Check everybody. Counted us out from beginning season. What are you talking about Bill? We. We maybe we love the logic more than any non patriots fans. Yes. Bill, you're on one. You're on your back on your bullshit fill Bill and everybody can't though the Bill check always be here. I the same the human element of it. I walked into the Rams locker room, then golf is just sitting there with Sean Manion. He was sitting had this grayish green towel in his left hand. He was laying in this. Like this had in his face ins hand was his head was in his hand in his arm is just covered in welts. I mean, just beat shit, and he was just talking to Sean manning in this way, were it was very animated in. He did the same thing with John Sullivan right after any clearly is just talking about like would this play net. This searching for answers, and I think both him and McVay tonight. They were just. Zombies. They were ghosts. You can see it in their face completely drained, and you don't know whether or not you're coming back, and I guess a couple of years ago talking to rich Gannon for something. And he he started going through is separate from what I talked to him two weeks ago. But we started going through all the mistakes that the the raiders made in the first quarter like literally going through this. Yes, this I think it was like twelve mental mistakes in the I if she plays whatever and you realize that after the game. That probably hurt. But then it probably really hurt really grew. When he realized that that was it for him. And so when you see someone like golf, you don't know how tonight's going to how he's gonna feel about tonight in ten years. What other things did you see from him? That was really it. Yeah. I mean, it's I think that he really was just like you feel like he's got a soul torn out. I mean, he was really bummed, and he's the type of guy, and we talked about this general Afghan the pot earlier this week, he's a very even keel, dude. And I feel like he was really really bump tonight. And not I mean, obviously you also Super Bowl. But there was really something. They got ripped from him. And I think it was the same way. That's just how it kind of came off to me. And then Andrew Whitworth told me that we're all going to die. Yeah. That was tough look for everybody. So that's I'm sure people have seen that. I asked him. He was talking about somebody asked him if he was gonna come back next year. And I assume the answer is would have been absolutely. And he said that he didn't know, and that's a whole 'nother thing about where this team will be going. But when I followed that up, and I said, what kind of with that in mind. Does it make tonight even tougher to know that this may be your chance, and you may never be back as it? Make it hurt. Like even worse is like I'm not I'm never going to be the one to pow, you know, it doesn't matter if you're in the hall of fame or you win twenty Super Bowls or whatever it's like I this game just this game. Like, we're all going to die somebody, and I was a skull. Well, I did not expect that but an expect to consider my own mortality after asking that question. But thank you very much. Andrew whitworth. I have a question for you, Robert Mays if you had to guess who which of these teams is more likely to be back in Super Bowl next year. Patriots. Why would I don't know? Is there any question about that? Hey, been Mr. Ramsey points this year. I think the Rams are excellently built football team with a really good football coach. I also understand the realities of what's going to happen to their roster. The Rams built this team that they can they can have one more year as I agree. They can. But I'd still bet on the patriots before. I bet on the ramps. I think at all I think a lot of the patriots next year in the AFC comes down to what the chiefs rebel to do with that defense. Yes. But the Rams this is the best Rams team in terms of a tough higher. That's really not Charlotte's going on there. I don't know what I feel like you almost have to concede that this is the best Rams team. In terms of roster talent that we will see how could it not be it? You're not going to have Dominic consumer next year. You're not gonna have Dante foward extra most likely. You may not have Roger Sappho. Thanks you. These are high level starters jamarcus Joyner. We went over. The list before but the Rams built their team in such a way that they've spent on a lot of these players they've already paid off. Or are there any paid girly? They already played Donald and those guys did not show up in a way tonight that is conducive for that is in line and in kind of coordinates with how much money they make. I mean this team is constructed. It's kind of set in stone where it's going from here in terms of the court players, and because those players are now getting paid the margins are going to suffer a little bit in that's already going to be true next year. Yeah. I mean, that's that's part of if you're a Rams that's part of the tragedy. That's that's the entire tragedy. That is why tonight hurt so bad. Well, okay. But here's the thing. I talked about the right around the Rams this week about this specific thing. And their argument was well, you can't really say we're not playing the long game. Even though it's very very different. Because the the the crux of the patriots is the coach of quarterback Ned if they believe they have that. And they do believe that then they think they have the recipe now just comes down to not if Jared Goff. You know, the number Kevin demo off put it at in. My story was fifty million dollars in casper. As over four years. That's what you were saving. So you have to make sure that if you're gonna sign Jared Goff to one of those deals. He's worth fifty million dollars in extra players basically over for your period. And right now that may not be true. And we've I mean right now. Dude. Like come on. Yeah. And like now, and that's those fifty million dollars worth of players were good players this year. They were guys that got them here. And they were those guys that will probably will not be around in the team extra and that's hard. That's hard reality to face. It's hard to come to terms with when you were one game way from winning the Super Bowl. I mean, not just one game in one broken tackle in the game. Like that. You're the one. I mean if Brandin cooks catches up all in the end zone, and if drought Harmon McCorvey my man those guys the secondary for the Jason L in sixteen last. And now, he's breaking up now Gilmore was unbelievable. I mean, this that entire defense is played out of their minds. Hightower was monster. I mean, he had on back to back drives. He had plays the ruin the drive. He had the third down. When the Rams had the ball with their backed up. He just destroyed Marcus cannon this little hand move on the sl. He's playing defensive end and the next play the next drive. He is a drive ending sack. Just beating awesome plays one on one with an inside move. This dude is a linebacker and he just playing defensive end at every single one of these spots. That's why they're so hard to to play against on defense because. All the rushers are so similar. They can just kind of play any single one of those roles within that front and just makes it so difficult to deal with I'm still my head's just spinning and much like, Sean McVeigh funny. It is the Jasper Daniels in and Sean McVeigh to the youngest most innovative play calories went out there. And it's got owned by two seventy year old this cruise gripe. Space cowboys. See old guys just going after for one last score. Space. Cowboys tell me it's nice. They have literally no difference between that game and space. Cowboys does the who was Donald Sutherland like lied. Advertise scenes is his final destination where I just use the analogy. Space Cowboys before great film. Yeah. That's definitely an adblocker person. Yeah. There's a couple movies like that remers like this. I'm just gonna use this analogy. Never see. The movie buddy is anything else you wanna say about three incredible week. Thank you. Everybody who listened consumed watch read all year all year, you know, down here. We had an incredible team.
