Should LeBron James have more MVP awards? Yes, but it's complicated
"All right fellas. Let's keep moving here. Big baller brand versus the king. Wanna talk about this game last night so lamelo basically saying to us. I mentioned this yesterday. That it's just another game playing lebron and as for lebron. It was just another day in the office. Thirty seven eighty six became then talked about a potential fifth. Mvp award lebron running or here my name of some of the best basketball players in the league this year again. it would mean a lot At my age What i'm able to do what i've been doing this whole season You know what our brains at a table every single night on both sides of the floor. it would mean a unbelievable thing for me personally. Is my career so to see what a chips may. Kyle kuzma reiterating. That sediment saying you should want eight or nine guys. We haven't had this conversation in a while. The last time i asked you max i think you had. Joel embiid as your guy. So where are you now. Who do you think's the biggest threat to lebron for. Mvp i used to be very clear. Lebron's the mvp. This moment and beat has now missed too much time. And he's presently hurt. Lebron is the mvp of the league at this moment. The easy answer to who's the biggest threat is james harden. He's playing the best basketball of his career. And that's really saying something and kyrie's been great and have been other great james harden you watch him now. You're watching basketball. Genius like the combination of scoring from anywhere on the floor at historically elite levels combined with the kind of court vision and unselfishness and setting up his teammates that he has shown in brooklyn in the service of winning has been remarkable however pardon also miss time in the beginning of the season because he won on the team. He's on the rockets and he was forcing his way off the rockets. So let me make a suggestion here. I considered yokich best offensive player in the league this year. I think stephen the biggest threat to lebron james. Mvp is damian. Lillard damian lillard a man that you have sat up here right in that spot and apologized to on. I take on this show for ignoring we. We all know him in apology. Dropped thirty six last night. Is he has a colt. Euro kind of status in the nba. Everyone loves this guy used the most clutch player in the league. That is you nets like unanimous consensus that please if not most clutch player damian lillard. He's averaging thirty points a night with assist everything you want. He has taken team decimated by injury destroyed by injury no mccollum until recently and their fourth in the western conference the fourth best record tied for fourth best in the western conference. He's the sentimental favourite. He's playing mvp level. He's shown leadership we all know he has not been recognized. Enough hardens miss time with his team and beads now hurt that you look at each candidate on other teams and lillard is at least as good as any of them. I think he's the biggest lebron's the mvp lillard is biggest threat.

New York's Broadway costume designers lament about being left out of coronavirus aid
"Shut down in March, actors and stagehands weren't the only ones affected. The Save Our Stages Act just passed as part of the Cove in relief bill and will help theaters and cultural institutions tread water until the pandemic is over. But as W one way sees Jennifer of Anasco reports some businesses that support the arts industry say they've been for gotten John Christians in New York Inc has built costumes for a lot of the big shows Cat's frozen and the new musical six, which was supposed to open on March. 12 the day that all of Broadway shutdown So we're getting ready for opening night That night, Every machine was filled. Every table was filled. People were doubled up. People were coming and going, and then Just like that they were closed. The leadoff all 52 of their employees. Like everyone they thought maybe let me for a few weeks, But in June, they were told No theater won't reopen in 2020, and for us, Everything stopped, like all of our orders just completely stopped. That's Brian Blight, Christensen's life partner and the business manager of John Christians in New York. And it was really a moment of what are we going to do? Are we gonna close? We put everything in storage, Do we? Walk away. They didn't Instead, Blake realized they weren't alone all through the city, small businesses that depend on Broadway and the theater industry. We're figuring out if they could survive the pandemic to And the shops are very specialized. A costumes aren't closed. You can't buy them off the wreck. They're made to measure for specific actors and designed for performers to dance and sweat in them eight times a week. Here's Christenson. But we do is cut your it should be the finest quality. It's the best interiors the best flat linings that we confined to make the product that will last a long time. And be beautiful and worth that ticket price, Christiansen and Blight realized they were part of an entire custom ecosystem. It includes specialty dry cleaners who care for $10,000 dresses made of fragile fabrics, study with sequence or flowers and people who know how to make those flowers and people who put the pleats in the fabric. And makers of tap shoes and toe shoes and beat artists and fabric painters. There are people who make specialty undergarments and hats and armor. The list goes on. So the two men joined with 54 other small businesses to found the costume industry coalition. They're clear about what they need money. Life once a kind of bailout from the government. $3 million to erase the debt of these small businesses for 2020 we have to, I think in this country I'm talking about the arts and culture as something that is a warm, fuzzy and wonderful the for the human soul and start talking about it as the economic driver that it actually is, because the economic between Arkin cultures huge, the U. S. Bureau of Economic Analysis says in 2017. The latest figures they have available. The arts and culture sector was contributing about $877 billion to the GDP. That's 4.5%. It employs over five million arts workers nationwide. In New York state. The sector contributes over 7% of the GDP. That's bigger than finance. It's bigger than construction. Hi, I'm Kevin McCollum. I'm a producer of Broadway shows, including the musical six. The one that was supposed to open the day Broadway closed. Save Our Stages is so important. Unfortunately, the shops are somewhat not involved in that. The venues will get grants, but the shops that support them. They need to wait until the orders come in. They say That's why the government should also give money to the costume industry. And to those who build sets and props. Because this is about more than the question of whether theater will survive. It will Well, the artists who make it the artisans who make it still be able to call themselves New Yorkers. Sure, I guess you could say Let's move everyone out of the city. And if that's the kind of city New York wants to be, I don't think that's the case. I think we want the artist to be able to afford and work and live in New York City. A few avenues over

"Well. This night is going to be remembered for a long time and there's a whole bunch of different reasons why people are gonNA remember it. The laker fans have their reasons. the clippers fans have their reasons. The nuggets fans have their reasons I think I just clip. Yeah they're there It's it's rough right now. I mean I I I think any team that had duplex have experienced. What just there? That is a devastating blow, but I think I just watched. McMahon I'll see if you agree. was. An Absolute Total grade a choke. Oh, not just. All much in the three one aspect I mean that jokes who actually in the three one aspect especially in the blowing double figure leads in the last three games while choke in that even setting that aside, I'm just talking about the actual performance of night. Oh, what it only took him seven minutes in the fourth quarter to get a bucket. Yeah. Okay. We're of P. turnovers than frequent hold on hold your fire is just for a second dinner decided the backboard hold your fire for a sector. That would i. I think what I saw was that was a historic choke job and combined with a spectacular game seven performance by the nuggets or. Spectacular Three game comeback by the neck and look. Let's give the nuggets credit to straight series down three one comeback when Bo series Yokich. There's no. Yeah. But with Yokich is at minimum a second tier superstar right behind the parental VP candidates well. He was a I hear superstar in this game. For sure. He totally eviscerated Kawai Leonard in this game and really in the back half of the series but in this game. especially. Yeah I mean he he was great in this game I mean. Just. Look at the box score Paul millsap only had six points but. his buckets were huge. He played on the better six point three rebound performances. I've ever seen Jamal Murray. We've gotta get in this guy's on the Kahane's factor starting five this year forty points in a game seven. So yes. Absolutely, give the nuggets credit and we've got time to talk nice about the nuggets. But what we need to do right now is pile on the most arrogant bunch of guys. The most Arab arrogant franchises never sniffed a frigging conference finals and hey, props to the Portland Trailblazers back court for completely unloading their troll game. Warden CJ mccollum absolutely deserved to just fire away because you got Paul George and Patrick Beverley acting like they're on some frigging dynasty. They've never sniffed the conference files. Why are they act like there's some you know I mean come on now. So yes, I. I'll be honest I thoroughly enjoyed the collapse and the troll jobs that came along with it.
NBA Players, Owners Meet To Discuss Plan Of Action
"Get back on track WHOA Jeez here. Thankfully to tell us what might happen here. Obviously, it's a fluid situation Adrian. I. Guess. The first thing we want to ask you is, what are we expecting today like what is going to happen today meeting Liz I have no idea what's going to happen today guys yesterday was. A remarkable day and one that I don't think any of us who cover the NBA. WHO Who've covered sports and and in my generation Bo forget but to set the table for today. The players having eleven am meeting here in the bubble. And the owners have a board of governors call at the same time. I'm pulled eleven am obviously that'll be done virtually and so simultaneously, those two groups we'll be meeting and the players. I think after a night, it was an emotional day. It was an emotional meeting they had. With most of the players in the bubble coaches were there last night there came a point where? The players asked the coaches to leave so they could hash it out amongst themselves. The teams I was told broke up into groups. and then they're going to continue that conversation this morning but I mean what's at stake is simply This season and are the players as a group going to decide to move forward. Continue the playoffs by all indications that the three games that are scheduled today. Not. Going to be played, the League hadn't officially. announced it but every indication we got in the last night regardless of what they decide moving forward that those three games later in the day. Wouldn't be played, but the players have more to work through and talk through. And consider a lot of different. Consider a lot of different scenarios. And and ultimately consequences of what it would mean to shut this bubble down. You're there in the bubble woes and you could get and I just WanNa know like what is what's the feeling is like does feel like NAM empty and just spooky and? What's that feeling like? I. Think the last several days keyshawn. and. You could feel a building you could watch on I think you guys could watch. On television and and read what people are saying and see. The interviews with George Hill and Fred Van Vliet. and. The emotion that players were carrying. Since the shooting of Jacob Blake earlier. In the week. And how that resonated not just all over the country. But here. and. On top of the emotion and Guys have been here a long time and it wears on you and guys miss families guys feel. At times like their captive in this place it I get it. It's a resort like I. Don't mean to. It is a resort and I get it and. All of us are lucky to be able to work. In, this country right now and a lot of people can't but there is a cumulative effect about being away this long. And you add on top of that. the horrific nature of that shooting. Another in a series of them in years of decades. Of them a century of them and so. data impacted this place at impacted those inside. And It was a domino effect yesterday of once. The bucks made the decision to knock him out of the locker room and not play. And then how it impacted the other teams and lead to that meeting last night that was pretty rot times. The to La teams the LA clippers. The Lakers have two of the hour say most powerful voices in professional sports in Genie Boston. Steve, bomber what type of influence can they have on the rest of the NBA owners to get something done in favor of the players? It's a good question I think the question is. And I think what the players Were spending last night doing. And and previously, it's been an ongoing conversation here. But is there something and and I and I know in the meeting last I a lot of players. Disgusted I know CJ mccollum was who's an executive on the players committee or on the on the Executive Committee of the Players Association. mccomb the Blazers Jaylen Brown the Celtics war leaders. in the Union and top players in league talked about having a plan of action and the bucks in the locker. Room. In those hours after that they after they decided not to play. Working with their own ownership in Milwaukee to get on the phone the Attorney General of the Lieutenant Governor in Wisconsin to talk about ways to move forward. To try to impact. that. Particular case. In in their state in Kenosha. And so you saw players already beginning to do that yesterday now. How does that continue today? What what players are asking themselves I know what organizations are asking players when they got back to the rooms. Last my back to the hotels. What is the endgame if we don't play? One is that what is it that we wanNA accomplish outside of the bubble outside of this environment outside of the platform that you have right now to play. play NBA Games and speak to the world through. Through this. What does that look like and so I think that's all going to be part of the conversation today with the players and with the owners if they kinda reconnect after those two meetings.
No. 8 Seed Blazers Shock Los Angeles Lakers In Game 1 Of Playoffs
"Portland. Right now. It's a Portland hoedown. Yeah, let's get it on Blazers beat the Lakers 100 to 93. They take Game one. Of this Western Conference first round playoff matchup, and there was never a moment where the Lakers were in control. There was a moment where they had gotten the game back to even but Portland was able to withstand that Damian Lillard with a huge night he goes for 34 points. He is perfect from the free throw line. Ah, McCollum and Newark. It's really did all of it between the three of them. They counted for over 70 points. It was a big night for them. Meanwhile, the Lakers they got 23. Read 17 and 16 from LeBron, who had a big night on the stat sheet. They got 28 from Anthony Davis. But the Lakers shot horrendously not so much about the missed free throws because they were 20 out of 31 Misty, nor inside the final four minutes. They did miss force turning four minutes, but they were five for 32 from three point range. Five out of 32. That's not going to do it in the bubble in the MBA playoffs when this is about offense. Putting points on the board. This was a horrendous offensive performance from the Lakers that had really bad performance is already in the bubble. You are worried about their offense, and I said no there find their figured out there figured out. This is tremendously awful, and of both one seeds to lose. Today I am way more concerned about the Lakers than I am about the Milwaukee Bucks. The Bucks losing to Orlando, Orlando gotta lead and the Bucks lost their

NFL: Brady's house call didn't violate league rules
"Tom Brady is not in trouble for going over to his offensive. Coordinator's House Byron Left. Which who? Tom went into the wrong house in. Tampa and I guess some of the Front Office people in the NFL were like. Hey you can't be there with your coaches. You're not allowed to do that and so tom I guess is not in trouble. What about breaking and entering thing that I I don't if you open the door and walk in. Is that breaking and entering if you walk into an unlocked door of a house that you weren't invited to is that breaking you're entering the people didn't see mad but I don't know if you're breaking you're entering. You're not breaking baby trespassing
"mccollum" Discussed on Pull Up with CJ McCollum
"We don't care because if this makes our team better this is what we're going to do. It's a tough situation. Obviously, you know, from my Instagram post people got a better understanding of the type of person ET is and not only is he guy helps your team you know, being able to be a defacto point forward, defacto type point guard who can initiate, the offense can get guys go on guide, multiple triple doubles off the bench. But he's a great person. He's one of the release people I've ever been around wanted to really teammates. I've seen and had to pleasure plane with. He's honest, every day mood never changes, regardless of playing well, if he's shooting poorly he's confidence in himself as we've seen in the playoffs with making those big free throws down the stretch of a game seven in the biggest gains where we needed him. He showed up and he delivered it stems from our relationship off the court going to stay football games him, allow me to bring out all my homies you know, him organiz dinners on the row have parties at his house. You're picking up costumes, for address up two games hidden. All the little things to help make our team better to help us get along better. And I think that, that led to us performing elite level in crucial situations because of those relationships that we were able to build. So like when I was talking about him as a person. I think it's, it's hard to see your, your make traded because a lot of times your friends with them. It's more than just a working relationship. Like we. We're kick it for the rest of life. We're gonna go to football game together. I'm gonna I'm gonna have him come to a Browns game with me this year. Like there's just so much that you do with France. Will you miss those moments? But that being said, it's a business ET's in a position where he's comfortable. He's been able to take care of his family for a long time in as he said, his Instagram posts, he's going to name his dog Neil because of the amount of bread. He was able to get out of this deal. So I'm happy for him that he'll be in a situation where he'll be utilized being able to help trae young mode him into a better player. And I'm happy when a position where, you know, we were able to get a guy like Cam base. More in the trait in a guy who's three in d he can help us right away. He has a. Championship pedigree haven't been around the Golden State Warriors have been around that process of what it takes to be able to win at the highest level consistently these hungry. He's underdog mentality metality type player for mid major, so I'm looking forward to seeing what, what else we do this summer and how we can improve individually and collectively as a team before starting next season CJ, I believe that Kevin Durant is still the king maker of this entire free agency process. I think he's the most important domino to fall. I've been very clear. I think he's the best player in the world and whether or not he's uses the Knicks remains to be seen. But what is important with k D's that you're talking about a person that can help, cultivate, and change in entire culture because of his values his ability to connect with younger players. He's a superstar, but he's a superstar that doesn't have the same ego as others. In terms of I'm willing to share. I'm willing to help you become your best player. I've talked about it with marshawn Lynch. He's the very similar. He was. Very similar with young running backs. Hey you go out and make a play. Let me help you and I don't know. I just think Kevin he's going to be the guy that ultimately decides a lot of free agency and I wonder for you who's your kingmaker, if you will, is it, Kevin or Jimmy or Kyrie or who do you look at it and say, this is the chip that falls. I think personally. I only I mean, there's a lot of great free agents but I think that the, the overall theme of this summer is the fact that Kevin Durant gets hurt Klay. Thompson gets hurt in this situation. Every team puts all the chips forward..

"I think you probably agree with that. And is a guy who's really in the prime of his career, and does really well of young players. We've had him on the pod. He's been a he's been one of the real class citizens since he's been in the league I think he would be a perfect fit there because he can play make. He can really score. He does a lot of the same things that kyri does. But I'm not sure he's quite as ball dominant. And I think you'd be a. Fit for their culture. I definitely think Kim but will be great embossing I think playing with Brad being able to be on the Bob being able to be off the ball a looking at how curry was utilized. I think obviously things in turn out the way they wanted to play curry had agreed individual season on the regular season. And I think Kim's ability to shoot versatility wanted off the ball, and then how efficient he is with his ball, handling being able to get in and out of his moves. I think he'll be great. Like you said before he's a ball dominant player who can play off the ball. He can come off screens Charlotte variety of ways to where he was coming off downs. He's coming off double staggers in, I think this is an ideal fit for obviously. I'm sure he would have liked to stay in Charlotte. But I don't know if they're able to work at deal out on what the situation is, maybe this is all just smoke and mirrors in Charlotte, decides to give them the truckload of money that he's worthy of receiving, but in the event that he's not he has a lot of available suitors, who would love to have him in jersey with that in mind with. Kyriakos leaving Boston Brooklyn has emerged as the front runner. I think most people would say I can tell you based on conversations. I've had that I think both sides are very interested in one another that does not necessarily mean that Kyrie's going to be a net. I mean anything can happen. But why don't we assume for the sake of argument that Kyrie Irving ultimately becomes Brooklyn net? Where does that leave the ngelo Russell? So the Brooklyn nets within renounce Russell. He becomes a free agent. The Angelo is twenty three he had his best year of his career in all star year. I think he is really now just realizing how good he can be how good he is. The real question is do the Lakers that emerged as the front runner for him. I think the Lakers definitely emerges the front writer, they've already discussed their mutual interest in each other. Obviously imagine played a role, Indiana. You'll being traded. He's no longer there Magic's even come out to say that he's matured. He's a better player than he was before. So I think the Angelo being more mature understanding the NBA understanding type of role and impact he could have with the Lakers organization playing alongside the likes of LeBron. The likes of AD in a big market being an established player who's showed his all-star caliber player capable leading his team to playoffs. I think it's a situation they definitely are going to explore and look into. But one of the things my brother and I talked about, and he just decks, he's going to be calling in shortly. One of the things we talked about on our car ride from wonderland was, Malcolm. Brockton in him being a free agent in him being the type of player that would thrive in a situation like that you talking about a fifty four ninety guy, who's low maintenance low usage rate in terms of not needing the ball in his hands a lot, and I need plays drawn up for him a guy who can play off the ball on LeBron who can space the floor. He also defense, I think he would be good and one of those types of situations..

"But would you. You be on the sideline clowning like that you probably would. But I'm not Drake. So I don't act like Drake. I will be in a suite somewhere, celebrating high five in my friends. Okay. On Twitter on Twitter, so happy that he's throwing interceptions. I mean like no offence to the, you know, my fellow athletes out there. But you like who you like and in this case you like your team when you're playing against someone else, they are the enemy for that day. So if you happen to be quarterback or, or if you play an NBA Jordan, we were friends and I was watching your game and you air ball, but we were playing against you. I would laugh at you. Andrea percent. I'll make fun of you. I got you a hundred percent by the way, we're gonna get our shooting contests this summer. Finally, are we going to make that happen? Br you are Larry's, I know you said, I don't want any of this. But hypothetically, if I did you always try to shoot against me when I'm on vacation and not working out. That's always catch me Slippin, but you're not gonna catch me Slippin. Well, I think to even the playing field we need some kind of, you know, CJ has been the gym in two weeks situation. I'm not gonna shoot against you into unless I'm sharp, are, you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna go. I'm gonna go go spend ten grand with Brickley and spent a month working my ass off with this dude. And then you're gonna come into the gym, and you're going to be like, oh, okay. And I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna beat you gonna get trained with Brickley for ten years and you still. Oh, there it is. I just wanted to exercise the CJ McCollum competitiveness. I knew it was in there. Okay. Leonard, the Toronto community has rallied around him because he's a great player restaurants are offering free food to Colli. There's a coli in dine, choline basically sign on fifty three restaurants. They said during the broadcast recently, it was announced that there was a free multi-million dollar penthouse offered if he stays in Toronto, so he can live there. He can party there, whatever. How how much do you like this up Toronto? I mean how great is that? The city that has never really add a superstar, Vince. But they've never been to the finals. Remember how to play this magnitude how great is it that they're rallying behind trying to get him to stay?.

"Pull up at checkout, give it a try in. Thank me later. We have to discuss the fact that you're in hall of fame. Congratulations once again on make it to the hall of fame, it's congrats man. Thank you. I appreciate it. As Katie says, it's basketball heaven, it's basketball, heaven, man. So. What were your thoughts when he first got the call that you're going to be in a hall of fame in at one point? I think I think we all go through this face. At what point did you think in your career? Like I have hall of fame numbers of could have gun. I'm a hall of Famer because you are a hall of Famer. I would say semi early on to your career like it was kind of written like, all right, he's going to be a hall of Famer his numbers or crazy. He's winning. He's been MVP. Multi all-star, like list kept going on and on. So kind of walk me through your mindset and then just, you know how it feels now when you heal your name, Steve Nash hall of Famer. The weirdest thing I hope this doesn't sound like arrogant at all. Not like I'm incur honor. It's unfathomable to be a kid from the west coast of Canada. You know that basketball's last one I play. I started playing eighth grade thirteen years old that you know that I that I'm in the hall of fame incredibly critically honored because of all the great great players influenced me not only as as my idols, but influenced me indirectly because they influence the ones that came after them and someone else so forth until my era of. No, and respecting the history of the fabric of our score and what a beautiful sport in history is. So having said that he knew and you can probably relate in some respects that everything's like a natural progression innocence even though like you're fighting tooth and nail every day. Like I like that freshman year to go from Cancun them all of our court conference from maybe like I didn't have time in the moment to like really sit down and be like, wow, look when I did. You know what I mean? I was like back in the gym because I knew I also like, you know, we went on Arizona's beat them the next week. I wasn't a fully formed product. I, I think I made. I was like one of five or six from the field and made six free throws of eight and a last minute kinda seal it. Yeah, it was probably a past and a pain in the ass and the creative player about, you know, playing against those pros and Arizona. We probably have five or six pros and the team you. I still knew. I had some ground to make up. You know what I mean? I knew I could get there, but I had some ground to make up and similarly, Kansas experience. And so I was right back in the gym. There was. Like I still, I'm like on floor one. I need to get too far six, you know, kind of thing. So that was my mentality that underdog mentality every day stay with me my entire career. But the reality is you go from, you know, can't get the ball over half car to playing a lot more to starting to prospect being drafted to, you know, becoming a starter becoming all star to, you know, the playing. I for me, never got to the finals a player in the conference finals. I don't know four or five times and playing a ton of playoff teams, your rack up numbers, and we play a long time and all these accolades and it just because one of those things where. Everyone tells you right? Like I never thought like I might making off, but just never crossing mind like sacrilege. Just even think in those terms was I'm gonna underdog, get up, get there early, get your work done to shut up and play, and so, but everyone starts to you're going in the hall of fame on the elephant. So after after a while, you know people reference to you in articles or whatever our interviews of sitting here with future hall of Famer. And so after awhile, you become a little bit numb to like like, that's just that's your that's reality. You know what I mean? So I know I know exactly what you mean. Yeah, and I, it's like you when someone says you like CJ McCollum averages twenty two points a game when the NBA you don't like hear that stop and go, wow, right..

"Got all the nice shoes. All the nice stuff. So you think that's the life that's that's the best route for you. So being able to girls who loves right, that's what you look. You look up to the Barbara's and the people that's that's out here getting it. And I think it's important that we explain to the kids, there's different avenues of different ways to to be successful and don't have to be sports, don't have to be on the block and this other ways to to be involved in pharmaceutical sales without without pushing wait on this on the corner. So I think that you know storytelling, his great being able to tell kids that look, I was the best player in my hood wasn't even close. Like, you know how many like, you know how many Michael Jordan's out there that just didn't make it like how many CJ McCollum is out there that just. Didn't make it like there's a lot of it was nicer to me like. Well, so you can. You can go to jail and have an NBA trial. You can go to right now. One hundred people out of prison and bring them to the NBA Tom vegetarian three. I'm to make anything on God. Don't like hundred percents. This is crazy. And when you tell those stories, like unless you grew up in the hood closer to hurt, you don't believe it, but like us being there, hoping the playgrounds being like, you know, he's way nicer to me, but I got a full ride scholarship. You know what I'm saying is crazy how life works, but it's been able to share those stories. Man is it can change in all it. All it takes to change. One kid's like went for me. Eric snow came Eric's how to camp he brought by. So maybe being see each no come from my hood and make Keith McLennan. All those people, you know, six, three guard. Then he brings a I camp, but I see. Look, I write in his is a is a good six foot and a half life. I can get this six foot. And I get that like, like you able to realize dream just off seeing somebody like up closely. It humanize AI to me like, hey, I was a mythical creature until I got to see him in person. I'm like, okay, he's six foot. He skinning on sand like what he had dog. And I'm like, if I'm a dog, so I if I can get to six foot like I can get to the league. So I think it's, I think it's important man. We continue to share these stories with kids and just let them know that there's a different way we don't have to will all have to take this row in hoop. We'll have to take this route on the blonde in. It's just different stuff we can accomplish, and I break down. I want to keep you longer. I break it down home when I go, you know, even like, okay, me. I don't have no about coat. You're gonna get up to. But I, I said he did the drug them to up to the fact that he was feeling hurt. I look guys think his spammy. Okay, so bad. We think cans for him. So what can I be to take my family without selling drugs? You know what I'm saying? So it's something good. It's something good in everything you don't you. So when I look at when you look at them, you know, Georgia's, that's, that's. That's what I got out of up about his on 'em, put their families, all of them live nicer. That's what I, I wouldn't even think about the selling jobs for because the first time I tried that my friends civil from coded went for me when I was seeing that young again kids, so I never really sold drugs. I was always around, but. When you explain it to these kids and break it down like that on the stand that you know what I'm saying? Because a lot of drugs when drug just be thug by themselves, those are the better life, you know..

"Some of the things I've heard play. Some of the things I've said to a referee compared to Serena said it's not even close. Just looking at other male tennis players, how they talked the referees, how they slam rackets, how it's perceived when they take their shirt off versus how a woman does it and she gets points. I, I think it's all sex, and I think this is the first time I've seen teammates openly speak out of another guy's contract situation. Literally comment on his pockets that's golden. I think for them to criticize him, a guy who's trying to do what's best for him fit for himself and his family, you have to support that shelter. The Cleveland Browns credible atmosphere. First game of the year. It was a roller coaster. Ride of emotion. Defense was great. Myles Garrett looked also things that war was great year. We turn his franchise around. Welcome to the Kobe Bryant edition of pull up. That's right. Number twenty four. I'm currently in west linn Oregon back out of the crib for a few days of working out or should I say a few weeks until training camp feels good to be back at the house? A lot of boxes and a lot of packages we just passed up are we just had our first football Sunday in the books. I was at the Cleveland Browns game. It was super, super dope experience. Jordan's been hating on me about the says. It's very Brown's, like of us. So without further do we have to welcome Jordan on as always discuss this Browns game fives must mytalk mytalk with the team. Actually, it didn't talk to the team. I loved how you were parading around the stadium, like you're a flanker receiver. I mean your your passion for that team is is remarkable. However, as our producer Matt pointed out before the segment, if you just watched the CJ McCollum Instagram, not only would you thought the Browns won, you would've thought they won by thirty. So it will point. I mean, 'cause it was. It was a crazy game. There are a ton of turnovers and then they had a misfield goal late. So it will point. Did you realize that this thing was actually going to be close and and then a point, I guess, did you realize that that you come to the realization that you know you're not gonna win? You're not gonna lose. It's a tie like what? What was your feeling on that? Because to me, that's almost more disappointing, but I, I don't know. Yeah, honestly, first of all, show to the Cleveland Browns shout the juice Josh on under squad, man. I appreciate the Browns hospitality allow me to come on the field Jumbotron action. On the social media, you Salata love in general, and I'm a loyal fan, true fan bene- fan for a long time. So this is no bandwagon talk. I've been. I've been here just want to start off by saying that the vibes were incredible. It was incredible atmosphere. First game of the year little bit rainy. Walked about a mile is a lot of stories I can tell from behind the scenes that I'll share later, but long story short got the Dabbagh juice before to gain talked to him. I told him handle his business and we, we shared a conversation in Miami during my friends Bassa party. I told him, I got his number and everything. I said, this is our year bro. This year we turn his franchise around. I say, we like I was playing because that's how I feel about my Browns, and I told him I was going to be there opening night. I said, if I don't have workout into like that, I'll be there opening night. I'm bringing home. I'll be in the field pre-game. I told him. I said, my word is everything. My word is bomb here on the show. He sent him a bless him. He did just that he blessed him bless them over one hundred yards. I think he has six, seven catches you. Look great out there. I was on social media, heavy man. I was excited. I have my my dad, my brother with me all my home needs from a home..

"And our my said was like, man, he's not being not being again, and that's what are my said was like we had young guys who can really play and we didn't back down from nobody know. And a lot of teams did you know a lot of teams got caught up into this caught up into that, and we just came out and play basketball. And that's what we do at the end of the day, doesn't matter if we are to favorite in the east over predicted to win ten games and he's you. Gotta come out and play simple. It's like it's okay Ray. Nobody. Cares. But at the same time, you know, expectation levels are there and we have expectation levels for ourselves. So it's important for us to stay grounded. You could just continue to play ball, continue to play the way we play this past season, sharing the ball on everybody to get off and everything. Take care of yourself. Like we got a lot of we got a lot of, we got a lot a lot of talent on his team, and we have some real good my says, and it's a pleasure plan with them. All you have to be on one one page. If we want to be successful, how competitive do you think practices will be the season with understanding that only five people can be on the court at once and how how that training camp goes with determine literally who's playing thirty five minutes and who's playing twenty six, very competitive expert, be super competitive and the same time we all get along. So, well, we still like are very competitive innocence. You know what I mean? So it'd be fun to see what training camp. You know, it's it's guys that are more competitive than others guys that love plan went on, win against each other. And his guys that you know little, talk trash to each other with Saint times. Do we all family in in a sense like we all get along very well, and it was so different from my first year 'cause we was cool my first year, but it's like a whole 'nother level to now like we all like really get along. So I can't wait for training camp. I got. I got people checked off. I'm ready to disclose those names. I mean, everybody, you know what I mean? We all competitive. We all going to play ones all ready. Know we already talking about it, but you're going to get after each other. But you know, we not going to beat up on these other two months. 'cause we, we're not competing against each other. We can beating his your so we're gonna save it. We're going to save it from. We got to CJ McCollum matchups in etc. Matchups and we will come after you. They go see j. I liked have been tallied. I hope you guys beat up on each other and practice where each other down in our exhausted moving. That trip from the Pacific northwest to Boston. I hope you guys are worn out from all those one on one games and competitive practices. We'll be Jordan. I think he he has his very popular. 'cause he's a very popular cousin. I'll let you answer your question and then I'll have to ask him about his as popular cousin. Yeah. Well, I'm just curious for you Jalen with was AJ boy in and what's your relationship and then also specifically taking it a little bit further, how, how important you know or how significant has it been for the NFL in terms of their health concerns concussion? The fact that they haven't to see point earlier, they haven't been able to adjust to maybe their personnel and their players as well as the NBA has a relating to fans, etc. And so for you, are you a football fan, and do you worry about the health of of players in that sport? Like I said. CJ said, actually, NFL NBA are in two different places in terms of the union in terms of leading concerns of everything..

"The aggressive in exert a lot of energy or you know should they them and make others step up and make plays and you know make him work for his points so i'm not sure which you know strategy day should approach i'm sure is going to have you know mix and match in sometime doubling sometimes letting go one on one but for sure he's going to get tired on also with the travel going back and forth from cleveland to california's not easy trip either so he'll wear down some but you know his own his teams to help them in you know if they provide that offense output he won't have to exert as much energy he can find time to rest on the court during fritos fouls when plays or for other people as well i think you hit it right on the head they're going to let him get here's in obviously you can't stop them but it's the supporting cast that that that is going to be the difference the supporting cast and what they're able to accomplish out there there's a lot of new guys who've never played in a final sore been in that moment facts yeah well the the warriors are they have young players but their core is incredibly experienced the cavs have obviously love and and jr and lebron they've been here a corner but they just don't have the insularity parts in with with love knob being one hundred percent you know i would argue i don't know if there's more more important player other than the braun than love it you know maybe jeff green but like that's the difference maybe it's short chill the warriors have four guys and they have they might not have as the benches they've had in the past but you know these guys they don't need durant the whole point is they don't need durant to play fortyeight he doesn't need to play forty steph doesn't have to play forty these guys can rest and they can allow some of the younger players to spell that you mentioned mccaw cleveland doesn't have that and that's why cj it's kind of like when you said with the new orleans series and golden say you thought antidrugs could get them one maybe can lebron get cleveland to is that the max now considering his supporting.

"A key factor in this series i totally hear what you're saying but neither one of these teams i wonder and that maybe this maybe this helps the cavs because neither one of these teams is playing or as flawless like last year they were combined seventeen one seventeen in one going into the finals when they play each other this year you have both teams that at least seem vulnerable especially the warriors for for what they are it doesn't seem like there is dominant guys like guys at good players that are that have helped them guys like jordan bell and loonie and quinn cooked these guys are getting minutes whereas i'm not sure last year they would have so i wonder does it does it help the cavs that that maybe the warriors even though the cavs maybe aren't as good as they were last year obviously without kyrie but the warriors aren't invincible is does that cycle michael element matter at this level i guess that's both of you having played against elite players for a long time i think a lot of it has to do with the lead start to catch up a little bit you know houston addison pieces the western teams were playing at a high level even the pelicans you know they pushed him to to bring a little bit even though it was a what a five game series is still was a lot of close games there and things that came down to the fourth quarter and you know boston team was much stronger this year the pacers were surprise i think obviously both rosters were hurt by free agency some financial decisions someplace they had to let go some under the radar guys and you'll ian clark you know almost bates you know some guys that you know help tone to tie with the second unit that maybe don't get a lot of credit but they're good players as far as richard jefferson for cleveland you know these are the guys who kind of unsung heroes so when you lose some of the key pieces you have to plug in new guys who maybe aren't familiar with the offense the defense the terms of flow you have to build chemistry with them again you know sometimes the pieces don't fit you know right away as you've seen what the cavs making those changes in those trade but i think you just have to give credit to a lot of.

"With that being said he's obviously not going to be a hundred percent in this series both of these teams are vulnerable we know about cleveland but this is not the same warriors team of a year ago in fact last year these two teams combined to go twenty four and one entering the finals this year obviously considerably different the words go to a game seven cleveland has to game sevens so i just wonder with the fatigue factor where does that come into play and then pushing the pace making sure that lebron is not comfortable and that he's he's tired whether or not he's gas going into this finals we know he's tired at the very least i think you you said it you hit around the head you have to make them comfortable a lot of times throughout a game steph or clay is freed up and they find a three pointer in the corner or they get a transition three right in the basket opens up for them so you have to try to prevent those easy opportunities understand it they're gonna make tough basket you gotta make it tough on them as possible and then the other way to really punish them you go adam offense and i think that's one of the reasons why we've been successful in the regular season and then in the playoffs they kind of tighten things up and do a better job with defendant but you have to attack them you know like they attack james harden on the defensive end they attack steph curry you gotta put steph in pick and rolls you gotta put stephan isolation situations and obviously when kyrie irvings with was with the cavs that was ideal for them to try to exploit those matchups but look for the brand it'd be the main ball handler and look for him to try to get steph curry and as many pick and rolls as possible to try to promote a switch and try to.

"In the finals has been out this world he's been efficient as as it gets he's played essentially every many blocked shots he's done a little bit of everything in eighteen he's averaging thirty four nine and nine eight point eight in this ridiculous so basically is average and thirty five point triple double right now he's going to need to take those numbers up a little bit get to the free throw line a little bit more and try to get kevin durant or klay thompson whoever's checking them out of the game i think if he's able to do that you know that that makes the game a lot more competitive for the cast and and puts them in a position where they have a chance to succeed but i think you hit it on the head it's not going to be with lebron does it's going to be with the supporting cast us you know you never know which which supporting cash you're going to get from the cavs they'd been very consistent at home in pretty inconsistent on the road except for that game seven on the road against boston but i think that it's going to be extremely tough it's going to be tough to beat the worst it's hard to beat them for times especially when they have homecourt advantage and especially when you're not sure what type of deduction you're going to get from the other cast other cast members but i will say it is kyrie irvings not walking through that door and he's a guy who was able to get forty hit big shots down the stretch so they're going to need kevin love to be aggressive inefficient stay healthy and throughout this series and they're going to need an aggressive george hill to have a chance as for me i think as much as from ohio obviously root for portland if you could see any team win you'd like to see to cast but it's just not realistic you're expecting the cavaliers team who's not as good as last year a team that lost in five games.

"I'm just reading misses a quote this is a quote so those major news news networks and out there who are going to try to quote me l show into message ashmead don't shoot the messenger this was said and i'm just repeating what was said what are your thoughts on this series jordan era what are your thoughts on this potential series with the cavs facing the warriors first of all some of the criticism of kevin durant was fascinated me just go into the warriors side because there was a sentiment that he wasn't doing a lot and that he struggled but he actually he did struggle at times in that series against houston but he had one hundred ninety four points in seven games that broke the all time western conference record so i'm not sure how fair it was because at the end of the day in game seven he was huge for them and he was fantastic and they don't win that series without him so with that being said his responsibility against cleveland to meet will not be the same as it was against houston because houston is more equipped to be golden state then the cavs now i don't know what lebron would need to do for them to win this series but it's it's gotta be somewhere along the lines of of averaging thirty five point triple double i don't know how else because you're going to say okay yeah well i'm saying unless he goes unless he's incr incredible an almost flawless for for six seven games whatever then house cleveland going to win a championship how are they going to be golden state it's not going to be because you know guys like you might get a good game out of jr smith or what they're relying on jeff green and they're relying on guys and haven't really proved themselves and then it had a couple of games in the playoffs like green was good against boston but you're not you can't tell me that cleveland is going to win this series without lebron playing flawless basketball and even then i'm not sure it's enough what about you i mean i think you hit around the head thirty five point triple double is something lebron is capable of he's done in past years and his performance.

"The favourite countries so far for me is israel playing in a yearly you're fortunate enough to travel to many countries are probably been to maybe fifteen twenty countries every time you go you're three or four days preparing for the game and sometimes you get to find some time where you can site c take in the culture what the country has to offer but israel's is beautiful it's warm all year round everybody speaks english they even speaks laying and they understand you don't have to slow down your speech or anything like that the food is great i've been invited to mini chabad dinners myself and i can tell you the israeli people were very welcoming very warming just allow you to feel like you're at home i'm also enjoy the beach and i think it's just a special place especially if you go to jerusalem no no matter what your religion is every religion is represented there from muslim from christianity obviously jewish everything is dandy just a special place where i think is like tel aviv is a little bit of like miami and then you know jerusalem is a place you go and you can get your spiritual hailing so by far on there's any place i like to visit i recommend anybody who's never been abroad our recommend israel jordan have you been israel i have i went to israel as a as a kid before my bar mitzvah growing up jewish and it's a really special place but i i need to go back israel's one of those places where you in were you in haifa where were you eric roussel my first year i was in netanya and my second year was in for saba netanya was about twenty five minutes from tel aviv facade was ten minutes from tel aviv so i was in a great location oh yeah i mean it's just great it's a it's an incredibly cool place very spiritual obviously jerusalem but but tel aviv is like one of those really world class cities.

"I will say it is kyrie's walking through that door and he's a guy who's able to get forty hit big shots down the stretch so they're going to need kevin love to be aggressive inefficient stay healthy and throughout this series and they're going to need an aggressive george hill to have a chance i don't see him winning two games i could be wrong but i don't see i don't see it happening i think anything is possible you never know what's going to happen throughout a series of opinion injuries there've been foul trouble situation that you can't control and that just kind of come about but based on the depth and the situation with the matchup i don't see the cast blending two games i think bronze enough to win one and i think he's gonna have to be competitive in every game but i don't think they have the firepower to be able to really get through this welcome to the knife episode pull up cj mccollum here big bro into building actually i'm in his building and it's taboo turkey bhagat rick reilly serving as underdog let's right i use his government name rick rally underdog right now out in turkey is we're going to be doing some research for us making sure our facts straight regarding this pushy tea and drake vattel regarding this colangelo story i with the burner counts and also regarding some lyrics that were discussed in some of these distracts but we also have jordan shows joining us as always looking forward to pretty good conversation but we were discussed our childhood was like to grow up as friend what it was like for me to be known as eric's little brother among other things so without further ado eric welcome to pull up how's it feel feels good thanks for having me no problem at all cruciate it and right as we speak mom is trying to face time so i'm going to have to hit decline and call.

"And some charity work you can donate just donate to my exactly is that something that you can tell kevin exactly no i'm definitely going to tell them that the next time you want to get out of the game just think about cj mccollum dream centers that were provided for kids all what cj mccollum press pass and we can provide them with better resources like we already have the coating the coding class in place where we're providing coding instructions and now we can do more advanced things with the extra money katie is gonna provide for us absolutely okay all right that's good to know number three jeff hornicek said the triangle offense turned off free agents to the knicks last year is having a better offense a big deal or not a big deal to potential free agents nah i think having a better off it it's definitely a big deal free agents especially depending on the play calling schema team has in place skin can alternately dictate the player you look at okay see having to change their offense for paul george a little bit putting in pinned down putting in flares allow him the rump pick and rolls and putting russ off the ball as a free agent you have to look at the roster the coaching style you have to look at the play calling skin schematic movements of the flow in figure out how you fit in i think versatility plays a factor in that in the triangle is a little outdated honestly i think that a little on the triangle very outdated it's easy to run and try and go when you got michael jordan scottie or shack and coby to lot harder when i try and go and in this new era of nba where's for men who can shoot threes and bring the ball up and there's centers who can guard one through five is just so much going on now in the nba you have to keep up with the with the time so you get left behind also part of what and i don't call the triangle the knicks run i call it the rectangle i mean the thing is so disjointed it's so unorganized i i i'm in new york i've probably seen forty at least forty nick games this year they they don't even run it right but part of what running it right is and you correct me if i'm wrong.
