"My other offensive. Question that i have an entering. This game is will. We see clyde edwards allaire and mccoll hardman actually step up in elevated rolls. We know it can do had a great season last year with production in the thirteen games. Eleven hundred scrimmage yards. Now he's supposed to have a boosted role in the past game. A we'll see we. We thought that this would be the case when he was drafted now. He didn't have the off season that a typical rookie. Has i think that impacted that it seems like he has a better understanding of the andy. Reid playbook at this point will we see him. Step up into what will be elevated role. And then you're thinking about a third or fourth option. Clyde mccoll maybe one eight one be in that sense will michael harbin take the next step and actually perform and be reliable for the chiefs. We saw glimpses of that at training camp war in practice than in the actual preseason games. Which gives you. I think a little bit of pause but here it is. I mean everybody knows that these two guys are expected to take the next step. My question is will they. Yeah and i actually have. Essentially the same question on my list for my second offensive. Question is the running game And i i to me You know all the talk has been about edwards hilar- improving his receiving game From patrick mahomes. But i wonder to me. It's been kind of a different question You know how much is he going to improve as a runner with better offensive line in front of him and it may not be necessary for him to Step forward with receiving yards and this could be a piece of the four tight ends question is well you know You can improve your one in game by having lots of one to personnel as well Not you know. It's not just the one four personnel. Where it's all exciting because there's four tight ends on the field. But i mean the one to personnel can Can extend your running game quite a bit. You know when you still got kelsey on the field. They got to pay attention to him. And then you got another blocking tight end On the other side of the line you know you can. You can open up some holes and do some things. So i think that's part of what what is the question for me is not only a running game be better with a production from the running backs be better. In what way will it be better. I love going to be receiving or more running. I love this idea. I love the idea of the chiefs getting a little bit more run friendly. Yeah especially early in games and sometimes if the game dictates that because we do occasionally see times when you feel like they're trying to force the passing game too much i'd original. There is five seven and two injured and eight pounds and he is at beast. I understand is smaller for what would be a typical running back that stan staff success in the nfl. But i think there were times last year where you just stuck glimpses. If he would get a little bit guy what he could possibly do. Especially in that week one game. It was and we thought that that'd be a sign of things to come. And then you did have problems with the offensive line starting with mitch schwartz and as the year went on it was more and more issues and now you have these bigger athletic offensive lineman who should be giving clyde edwards allaire more space and that should lead to more rushing yards right and more rushing yards should lead to more passing yards not only for him and the rest of the offense because all of a sudden if clyde is doing damage yet you have to a sense. Stack the box and maybe one on one with tyreek hill. Maybe you're one on one with travis kelsey or even mccoll hardman. That's where this offense is really good a click. That's why i think we see return to some of the early days of the mahomes era with kareem hunt and just no answer because there are just too many questions for the defense to address. Well i also think that this is to me. This is something that really bugs me. Is that a lot of fans. Think that andy. Reid takes his foot off the gas in the second half when he has a lead. And i don't think he does that. I think what he does is he says okay. We've got the lead. Let's run the ball and up to this point running. The ball hasn't been a thing that she's very good at when everybody in their brother knew the chiefs are going to run the ball. They couldn't do it effectively. They couldn't impose their will on other teams. And i think that with this offensive line. They might be able to do that. And by the end of the season people are gonna to say. Oh look andy. Reid didn't take his foot off the gas. No he never did. It's just that now when he does what he should do what he has the lead which is run the football Then they can do it. More effectively shadow to mike frazier. The statistical analysis coordinator of the kansas city chiefs. He'd wears glasses like you and me. It's better to run the game. When you have to touchdown lead might be the most obvious thing that we say on the podcast today. And i think and i hate to bring this game up. I think there was a lesson learned in that colts loss. To where andrew luck pro probably in the greatest game career was able to rally back and come back early in that sense. I learn a lesson i even the head coach of andy reed's caliber future hall of famer. Ken learn from that game. Where if would have just knelt on the ball. Yep there would have been a better scenario than you were. And they that idea to me of the chiefs taking their foot off. The gas is bananas. Because i'll i'll give you an example. How many times we've seen the chiefs up. Seventeen to twenty four points in the fourth quarter and number fifteen running back out there right like why..

"Player. Let's move to another one cameron. Newton probably a big story within the nfl right now since he's been released with the patriots like i think for him maybe the best bought for him to go. 'cause if you know cam cam is in the thinking of. He is still a starting quarterback. And and i could see his thought if they can. There are some guys around here that he he can give teams a better chance to win. I know hill in houston he shares can but outside of that. I don't know if those opportunities are going to be there for cam to be a starter right now and so. I think the best thing for km is to go somewhere with an established quarterback in a place where he has a chance to really win and you could use him in a package like if he goes to a team. Whose quarterback is not you know a big time running thread or somebody who you know. Like lamar like is not a tape deck. That i don't know how much they want to run him. But like not those those types of settings certa. I don't think it's insane for andy and brit features to just take a look to see. Hey with our creativity with us having the best play designer in a game since bill walsh having pat they're or short yardage was not good last year. It was a real weakness for us especially trying to run the ball into the end zone inside. The you know the ten inside the five with a they struggled with that in a major way to at least have that package and a have that threat for other defenses. Not only do we gotta deal with pat mahomes and kelsey in hill and obviously mccoll hardman. Who is destined for a breakout season. And marcus. all right. But not only. Do we have to deal with those. Those guys and deal with with with clyde edwards hilar- now we got cam. Newton in the potential short yardage third down fourth. Insures the mini things that you could probably do. An anti could do with it. I'm just saying super bowl or bus given yourself a chance to to to get to have all kinds of options and it was something you struggled with big time. I'm not saying go getting. But i could be decreed by the creativity of andy reid airbnb and what they could do as just that is another weapon for them. Is it intriguing. Yes i would absolutely be curious to see how andy reid would utilize cam. Newton downright horny about zeon. Did they struggle in short yards situations last season yes absolutely. I think that that's going to change this season with his offensive line With the stellar. Run blocking these guys are going to be able to create for clyde. I don't think that's going to be something that we talk about this season. And the reason i would not be in favor of this in any way is that i just don't understand why you would ever consider taking patrick mahomes off the football field under any circumstance when you're trying to score points like he's just proven that he's better at it than everybody else in. Football is so i understand if you're on the one yard line. Yeah cam newton. Pretty much unstoppable. And he's inside the five over his entire career. When you get that close to the end zone yes he's not vaccinated so you're risking bringing a player in his refusing the vaccine who could potentially expose you patrick mahomes to co vid which could jeopardize him being available for a game. So i don't know why i would want to introduce that risk to my team and it's also like you know you're like those cats did it. Britney's party over this week. I don't know. Because you got quarterbacks with limitations and you have quarterbacks who just can't do certain things aren't particularly good at various aspects of the game. You have the guy who's better at every aspect of the game then everyone right now. A aside from you know patrick mahomes in a foot race with lamar jackson. As far as passing the football goes in scoring points. Patrick mahomes better at it than everybody else in the world right now so i wouldn't want to jeopardize any rhythm or flow continuity within the offense by taking him off the field for play. So cam newton can get an easy. Go ahead touchdown because i trust andy reid creativity to get in the end zone and trust patrick mahomes creativity and athleticism and improv ability to get that figured out so i just don't see how it makes the chiefs. A better football team by taking was off the field or you know the other. That's a fair point. I would argue. They had they had those guys last year. They had their creativity last year and they were still one of the worst teams and that was one of the biggest issues were was was running the football in scoring in close and had like they had to ahead to do a whole lot like very they really struggled with that. And i think you add cam now as it. All those points are valid points. But you add cam there. I think cam makes your short yardage and your inside the tin offense better. I i think he does that. And i i think now cam has to come here not be delusional and understand what the role is but like you go. You go like i could imagine camp on the field at the same time as bad like i can imagine a lot of those those things to where like. I'll disagree with you a bit. Like i think pat is really good at almost all aspects of the game but but that right there the short yardage that running in run with like he can do it. But i'm nervous every time that dude pulls it in and and and and and runs it in and he's done a little bit as we remember the super bowl that hit. He took into the end zone. He can do it. But man you add cam. Who's basically going to pay for play for free. Because of the veteran minimum minimum and his contract. I just just to make yourself tight at all those and in a spot where you struggled and they had andy and then last year and they still could make it work. Well and the chiefs did free up some cap space on thursday this week. It was a little bit of money..

"Now ron cop. Beautifully did but jodi fortson Makes his team and he made the decision really difficult on the chiefs. And i think that's part of the reason john why you don't have darwin thompson. left anymore. It's because of what jodi fortson was able to prove both practice and scrimmages and then ultimately the games. Yeah now. here's i have a question though. If this is a survivor game they're going to be a redemption island. We need to know this shot. You come on the. You're showing that you don't didn't watch. Wwf back in the day. The survivors year is about is on cbs. Yes outplay outlast. Now look this group would win either. Competition can live or on. Cbs or wwf series but the survivor series in wwf. That was referring to is a battle four on four if you get pins you're out it's kind of like survivor on cbs. Okay there's an elimination part of it. kelsey would be the survivor in both of these. It doesn't matter. The rest of the team is just way way better this year. Not so much. More upside in belfort's and a grey then. Kaiser absolutely had never even was a part of this team stimuli. Well he he felt like last year just as a guy that they would have in their back pocket in case kelsey was hurt. That if kelsey was hurt they would Activate seals jones to the active roster and and make him active on game days. He did he did. I think ultimately go onto the practice squad once or twice over the course of the season. And i think that was in the postseason. Actually now that i think about it but I think that was just a guy that they had in their back pocket as somebody who could replace some of chelsea's production In a pinch. But i think what we saw in the preseason game the other night where we actually had one four personnel. That is one running back and four tight ends on the field. Once and the play resulted in a touchdown. I think that we're going to seen entirely different kind of approach with these particular four players on the field because all of them can make plays. I mean you know. You had travis kelsey Noah gray and jodi on the field and it was blake. Bell who caught a touchdown pass so because yeah so i think this is going to be real interesting to see what the chiefs do and i think that play on. Friday night was an example of the kind of things. They're thinking about right now. This was an article. I wrote after that game on friday night the idea of fourteen personnel which is running one running back and four tight ends on the same time. Eleven plays in the entire. Nfl last year during the regular season so this is not a personnel. That is used a lot. And when andy reid see something that is not right lot guest. That's the toy that he wants to bring to the table and finally gets to do it and mahomes noted in his post game press conference and it was beaming. I mean this guy. He's mr cool but he's a nerd. When it comes to like the xs knows of football you could tell that. He's digging this fourteen personnel that the chiefs can now do and the great part about it. And i think especially with chelsea gray and ironically bell to a lesser extent. These guys can catch the football. Like receivers and i think that is what makes this so exciting. Like imagine having the speed of tyree killing mccoll hardman on your team and you know you. Guys stay on the sideline we. Don't we're all right right now. we're gonna go. You don't need players. You don't need that speed when you're down on the ten yard while you wanna pass them all and the big dudes who can catch right so right this is. This is the andy reid. Bread and butter see personnel and for the first two games in two times they show the look. They pass for a touchdown. Now you get to the third game. The team sees the same look. They're ready for it. And then all of a sudden. it's a bruising. Run where they handed up the clyde. And there's a gaping hole for many old clyde to just skate through and that we're the beauty i think of having the four tight ends after all the analysts call one even one two or one three personnel as heavy formation. So what's a one. Four person zuma. We're talking a really heavy. Yes speaking of sumo's let's move onto the offensive line. John the chiefs end up keeping ten of these big fellas we know about orlando brown junior joe creed humphrey smith look and yang. The three rookies along the offensive line. Then we go to. What will be the reserves. We have austin life. Andrew wylie. Mike remers nikola gritty in l. d. t. as i wrote in the review right now a p were still waiting on injury updates. A little bit clear picture as to win. Blyth and lt be back in the mix. I know that there have been trade rumors circulating around l. d. t. does have the note trade clause so anything that happens in that regard. He would have to approve. But you have a backup center. In austin blythe oss nikola grady also plays a little bit of center. You have swing tackles and andrew. Wylie and mike remers ideally ideal but ideally widely would be that left tackle for you remers on the other side but both can play both. And then you have ele grady l. Dt who could play the guard positions. Andrew wylie has found surround really everything but center. Same thing for mike remers so the name of the game when it comes to the depth of the offensive line is versatility and i think this chiefs team has versatility really at each and every position. I just named two players for each position along the line. Where if a guy misses a game or two or you get down to a little bit of your depth and super bowl is not drastic and you have players to back them up. I like the depth on this team..

We had noted on the arrowhead drive and elsewhere on this podcast network that thornhill had been getting most of his time at training camp with the second and third team but from what it sounds like from the team. It's truly been a rep thing in a way. Thornhill is still recovering from the major knee injury from two thousand nineteen and that she sound like they simply wanted to get his feet under him again. No better sign. That's happening than that. Play that we saw on friday night under pressure lots but call believable concentration. So thornhill had the chief stop defensive. Play against the cardinals. wide receiver. mccoll hardman had the chiefs top offensive play after seeming to be a little out of sync with patrick mahomes hartman. Made a shoe string cat. For a seventeen yard touchdown wouldn't atari wasn't planning to like the game started again so it was like what doing so but i ain't nobody gonna put a whole but it was cool does good to get some a lot of riptide dern guessing targets the.

"I. He's been vocal about what he's prepared to do this season and some of it's been kinda tongue-in-cheek like we know you're an exceptional player. But like you know you're going to try to come out and get yours and throughout training camp in so far in the preseason he his just flat out looked like he can challenge. Aaron donald this here as like being legitimately the most dominant interior defensive lineman and then he's going to go outside to what's crazy right now. He he might be the best interior player and the best player on the any jokes and likes to talk about sack nation and he has fun with the media and the fans about it but this team has a unit is starting to look like a nation. Anthony hitchens with the sack. Jarran reed even the depth players in linebacker darius harris and dicaprio budel getting in on the mix. He doesn't say that it has to be defensive. Lineman that can get involved with sack nation and now that's that's ten sack preseason. I've said it now. Three times on this podcast. But i just think if your defensive line is cooking we always get on bread. Vh about maybe not. Investing premium picks that the chiefs make themselves in the cornerback room. But if you have a solid cornerback room and it does look like that. Which are various ward and luxurious need. And mike who's actually really playing well and you have a defensive line that has led by christians who we had mentioned. Looks like an absolute monster. I think you're gonna see the whole defense look really really strong and i think we're getting clues to that now in these first two games steve and so i wanna talk about that secondary for a second because the defense obviously been phenomenal so far in the preseason they were completely shutting. Down the cardinals. I drink offensive unit in the first quarter of that game chris jones exceptional. But we've had these questions about the third cornerback in. It's kind of been a rotation between guys mike us and the baker of both shown promise in that role but we finally got a glimpse tonight of one thornhill and that incredible athleticism that we saw in his rookie season with that unbelievable interception that he pulled off. Like i still trying to figure out what the chiefs are doing here with the rodeo issues. In the way they're they're kind of moving that second nature to me and says well we're still figuring it out like we understand who we have in who we have locked in everybody else. We're just kind of putting the chess pieces as we see fit and kind of figuring it out as we go and i don't have a problem with that is inevitably means that one thornhill is going to be the guy. Well what was interesting tonight and not only did want thornhill start with the first team as defensive tackle collins saunders who deserved it. These guys have been playing. Well lately. the chiefs have made points of that in in practice. Thornhill has been a little bit more mysterious because we've seen him with the second team. If you notice tonight. He started with the first team and he was still out there with the third team. Andy reid as you just heard was asked about it and he said essentially we need thornhill feeling confident about self. A notice you kind of have teams when you come to the microphone. Want to know what your team is You know would you have on but more seriously going into the training camps your first time with all the players What are you hoping to get out of this. And what type of what type of kamari are you hoping to make the offense to lie. Training camp is always important for that. Reason i think it gives you an opportunity to get around coach his teammates and really get to know people for who they are just because of the amount that you're spending here consistently on a day-to-day to day basis with some I'm looking forward to getting to know. All of my teammates Offense and defense all the coaches in staff around here as well Not as you got a lot of free time and training camp but you know it definitely helps pass and tom by getting no guys go next to aaron land. Good air appreciate the time here. I know it's a lot of new faces in the offense ally room. Especially you is. Maybe the you guys have communicated leading up to this in the kind of the relationship that jello worked off man. We we've actually been communicating all off season. I would say definitely ever since. We all stepped on on in the building together. Not as it's a great group man. I think that's one of the most important things to a great office. Alon is just a continuity off the field and the news. good off the food. It'd be great on the field and You know we play position man. Just how comfortable do you feel already with joe. -tuni- in what do you looks forward to about building that as time goes on here at training look forward to man does a great player. I really look forward again back to work with them and getting going on this long season just just grind it out. Man like cement mcmullen goodman. His team in super bowl contention next to adam. Tighter but at orlando was just wondering whether you did anything in the off season this year outside of practice to prepare to play left. "Slander is the only thing that i can call it on with. Mccoll hardman it. Demarcus robinson and i listen. I'll i'll say there is some fairness to what they have shown thus far in their career. But i do think especially with hardiman is young and i don't think that he's really had a a real fair moment to come in and say all right. This job is mine. I know exactly where i'm going to be. I do think he's had to learn multiple positions and a lot of different things to get on the field and its that play making ability that he has is there. He is a big play waiting to happen. And i guess just like you believe so much in legit serious need. I think that's where i am. In hardman. And i think that explosive playmaking ability to go along with the play caller and the person throwing the ball and never ever will coverage be slanted his way he will always be able to to go against weaker corners at least the teams weaker corners and and probably one on one coverage. And i gotta. I gotta see that he can complete. He will completely be a failure. I just think there's just too much around him and robertson to like robinson he just needs to be solid. And and i think i always said about two marcus. Robinson is. he's just super solid and reliable and to me. That's never once about about demarcus. Robinson never up saying and i just i b. I think he could just be if he is solid five. Andy's playbook still can't remember all of his routes if he could remember the eight that he needs to the eight seven or eight that he needs to come. On man like demarcus robinson has not been trashed. Not find marcus. Robinson is a. I said the word find earlier. I'll say it once again. Here actually applies to robinson. Going into the season have brian. Edwards is pretty good player out of south carolina last year. hunter renfro john brown. Willie snead zeh jones I i would take the chiefs over them. I will take john brown over. Any of the secondary receivers chief south and brian edwards. I'm not taking brian edwards Bryant has some upside. he didn't do much as a rookie but he's got some upside. John brown's how the hell does he get to have upside well. How the hell is brian edwards. Get to have upside mccoll hornet. Doesn't i never said that mccall hartman. Doesn't have upside. My issue with nicole hardman is that he is shown through two years in the nfl. Yeah he's faster than everybody on the football field except for tyree kill. But that's all he can do. Tyreek can go up and get a football. Tyreek can make a cornerback. Look like a joker on the field. I haven't seen that from a coal hartman. I haven't seen nicole hardman. Go up and get a football ever in his nfl career. I'm not sure mccall hartman. Athletic enough to play on the outside and go up and get a contested football. The other thing run is it. It's less to me about his upside in more about his role. And i don't think the role that they want to utilize him in this year is one. That's going to accentuate his skills. I think the role that he would have to be in four that would include tyreek hill. Not being on the roster. And i think that was part of why he was drafted mean. Go back to draft night with gall. Cd what happened there I think they felt that. The role that tyreek hill has in their offenses show valuable that they could not go a season without somebody having the ability to fill that and now they're trying to basically put a square peg into a round hole and i don't think he's the guy to go there and we can go to the chargers as well keenan allen mike williams josh palmer jalen guidon. I liked their death a little bit better than the chiefs as well. The the chiefs have the top end. Talent too far exceed every other team in the nfl and they've got the quarterback to make this thing work but their depth is a real issue in one. Cut down calm. There are going to hopefully be better options than what are available right now out there on the market and i hope that the chiefs are interested in our indu. Consider somebody or maybe multiple. Somebody's that can come in and help this roster receiver because they are completed there in terms of their talent. I can't wait to this damps. Season starts depleted. I mean deplete it. Good god man. I mean. I'm just saying do you think it's going to be somebody like i feel like the people are going to be available in. The range of byron pringle are in the range. We are we serious about this guy who is been a bust right now in nicole hairy it with the patriots now granted. Some of that quarterback play in year. Two that he faced last last year with cam and brian. Hoyer isn't really the great thing to help you out with. But a guy who's been a bust eighty-six targets in the last two years since he's been in the league. And then josh gordon who who who just cannot stay on the field and hell. I don't even know how good he is anymore. Right now he. I mean he hasn't even played long enough to even know how good it's been a long time. Eight nine years since he led the nfl in receiving yards. I we are not in this desperation mode that it feels like every week. Please tell me why the chiefs need to go. Take a look at these two guys. The patriots haven't done a lot to help him out but he hasn't been very good in the. Nfl doesn't create separation in any way not interested. I wasn't really that interested in him as a prospect. I am on the josh. Gordon train because i wanna see as many weapons as possible with patrick mahomes. Maybe we believe fifth round wide receiver. Cornell pal is the answer or mccoll's finally going to take a huge step forward on the outside which is out of position for him. But i'd like to see. I'd like to go to training camp and see josh gordon practicing with the chiefs and see what that looks like. Yeah i'm out on josh gordon of you should be i one jock. Laurie hawkins seed. And i hope he latches on somewhere in his super successful. It has nothing but the best moving forward. I just don't think that's going to be chiefs. Calloway and you have antonio calloway already on your roster so i think what they have right now is probably barring some sort of trade or a surprise cut after camp what they're going to have going into the season and that is a little bit concerning because what you're looking at right now as tyreek hill which is great but then mccoll hardman damarcus robinson cornell powell byron pringle and then probably one of marcus camp garrick deeter antonio calloway or daria shepherd. One of those guys probably going to be the final roster spot where the wide receivers that just doesn't inspire a ton of confidence from me. The only guy that i feel good about his tyreek hill and then everybody else is a massive question mark in when i read earlier. This week from nate taylor of the athletes and i quote from the voluntary wait workouts in the teams mandatory minicamp mccoll hardman appears to be in position to have a breakout season as he is expected to have the role previously held by sammy watkins. That's terrifying for me. I i don't think he's a guy that profiles to play in that role sammy. Watkins was a prototypical x. Wide receiver where he can line up. On the line of scrimmage and beat man press coverage that is the opposite of what mccall hardman profiles as in fact the only guy on the team. Maybe you got two of them. That can do that. I think is cornell powell and byron pringle and i don't think those guys are starting level wide receivers at least not right now so i. I don't think they have that guy on the roster today. Listen i. I think as upset before that is something that is being overblown using the words terrified a mike that that feels a pitch strong. That feels a bit strong to use. Sorta josh gordon. And i i hope he hooks up with chip and joanna gaines down in waco. And maybe they can you know do some kind of work with him. Maybe he can help build some houses and work at magnolia farms. I don't i don't particularly well. I think they can help people. I think he got a better chance to his life getting on track them. Come in and play in the national football league. Is that like. I think what you have in. The interior is more than fine. And i made the mistake of saying the word find. That's on me. I no issues with them going out. And signing by the way bringing in. Melvin ingram or olivier vernon. Those guys can help you like whether chris jones on the interior on the outside wherever he ends up being. You still need help right now. A defense event. And i think that's totally fair to say that I think what they're doing is more about the run than a pass. I think the chiefs have noticed that their run defense flat out has stunk for the last like three four five years. Now in if you're going to get better there at the best way to do. That is by moving chris jones to the outside having jarran reed and derek nadi playing in the interior on running downs. Like first and ten second three those sorts of downs. You're gonna see chris jones. that's when he's going to be playing outside. That's also when you're going to be seeing anthony. Hitchens and mick bolton on the field. I think they're just going bigger. They wanna get more bulk out there to be able to prevent teams from running all over them. Which has been a huge huge issue for many years now and i think that's the biggest thing i think on passing downs third and seven Second fifteen those sorts of situations. I think you're gonna see chris. Jones bump back inside because they know that's where he's at his best when it comes to his pass rush presence. I don't expect to see him out there a whole lot on those situations. I think it's going to be very specific in the way that they utilize them. And i think they're gonna utilize them as a weapon similar to what you see them. Offensively utilizing mccoll hardman. Wear a one time. He's going to be in the slot. Maybe he lines up in the backfield and then ends up. Kinda motioning out. Does that that orbit motion like you're going to see him all over the place. I think that's gonna be what they do with chris jones on the defensive line and i think it's perfectly valid to be concerned about. Christians are moving outside. I have questions about whether or not. He is truly athletic. Enough to like ben the edge and go up against some of those best tackles in the nfl. But adding melvin. Ingram doesn't change the situation in any way. You're you're still expecting frank clark to likely be suspended in some way so even if it's for the first four games of the season or whatever you're probably going to see him bounce outside a little bit and i just kind of to see what happens. It's early in the years. So i want to experiment. I want them to play round because their pass rush was a problem last year. It was an issue. So they're run. Defense has been issued for several years. But let's not act. Like last year with chris jones on the interior he went for like twenty sacks or something like that they had issues getting pressure. And that wasn't chris jones fault. That was frank clark's fault and they still haven't addressed that. They're still banking on frank clark being productive and hopefully they do bring in veteran guy but i wanna see how that all fits together at maybe it's taco charlton. I don't know but they still have plenty of question. Marks there no. I'm not saying. They don't have question marks. But i mean if you bring in a guy. A veteran like me melvin. Ingram is the one that has been talked about the most cheap circles. I think it definitely changes it. I mean you. You have a veteran. I think a guy out there that you trust that can play that role out there right. Now you're sitting here with taco charlton and mike dana. Like i mean right now like there is no. You can't feel great about that. And i feel like a bit of that makes you feel forced to kick him outside. I think that was a really nice point that you may be k. About this is about the run but this ninety four anymore. So what they're gonna do. They see those off those four linemen out there and they see oh derek. Nadi in june read and chris jones on the outside. But they're gonna throw they're gonna to teams are going to throw mega. They're going to change the way as you said. I believe you all said that that. That kid is the top three quarterback and all of the league doesn't herbert heston herbert for the chargers whenever they play him talking about. Because you referenced. Top three quarterback. That's not on the chiefs atop two quarterback in the league. You guys believe is better than aaron rodgers right now flow herbert justin herbert justin herbert. He gets it games and he sees that front. They're going to throw justin gobert. Yeah they're gonna throw. And i don't believe that they believe that. I do not believe that they just want to say that before. People get confused. Show that just in herbert's atop to quarterback. Mccoll hardman and like you said cornell powell i mean everything out of out of Ota's and and you know things like that is that you know core cornell powell looks the part so i'm with you man i. I definitely don't think they need to reach here. Who who would you say you're most excited to see in the wide receiver room that maybe we don't talk about as much. I probably have to say cornell. Powell i just i don't for example. I don't dislike mccoll hartman. I think he's an amazing human being of at a chance to speak with him. He's someone who actually gives you something somebody who cares. I really like mccoll hartman. I think is a great human being i. I'm just not going. Sit here and say i think he's all of a sudden going to break out and have over a thousand yards and ten touchdowns i just. I just don't think that. I don't believe that i don't i. Don't wanna just pander say stuff just to say it. I think you can improve. I think he's going to take take a step forward. I think people and chiefs kingdom though are still going to be upset because of who was drafted after him. I think seven hundred fifty yards seems to be about where i'd go with him. I think probably going to have the second most yards as a receiver on this team harm. I think he's behind Tyreek and you're going to have cornell powell and and derived but the reason why. I'm excited about cornell powell. I think he's going to be the future d- rob. I know that's not sexy. I know that's not what a lot of people wanna hear but were you drafted. Him was not in the first or second round right. he's not supposed to. You're not supposed to draft a guy in the fifth or sixth. Expect him to all of a sudden become a number one legitimate bona fide wide receiver. Someone needs to fill the bigger body wide receiver spots so many to do the dirty work. Someone has to be good at the little things including blocking. I think cornell. Powell will do that extremely well. I think having derived here for one more year to teach him will lend a vast experience to him. So i think the growth of cornell powell to me will be something to watch. Who are you most excited about. Yeah i mean. I i would say so. I've sort of been high on the mccoll hardman train for a while. I mean i'll just put it this way. Like i always kind think the second year is probably the most is probably the toughest for guys in the nfl. Because if you display any kind of explosiveness or elite talent in your rookie season you're going to be at least on the priority list when it comes to defensive coordinators and i just think despite the fact. That mccoll wasn't all pro or anything like that was rookie. I mean he did make the pro ball but he did show that really made you think and especially if you're defense coordinator made you think this guy has the talent at least to be a big factor in this offense.

"He was on auto pick ended up. Having george kill darren waller and he ended up trading daring waller and ended up. You know messing him up. Because george kill was hurt for pretty much the whole season and you know. He didn't have another tight end while he had entre. Henry i believe but hunter enemies not daring waller. So yeah that wasn't really smart trade on his part But needless to say Darren waller's definitely gonna be top three tight end fantasy this year. You know he stays healthy You know he's a guy. Like i said should be taken third fourth round probably and should have another productive season. So let's move on to kind of somebody that. I don't think i ever talked about on the show yet. And that is henry rugs. Now you know only had fifty eight fancy points. Last year played in thirteen games last year. his best game really came against the chiefs where he had seventeen point. Eight points at one hundred. Eighteen receiving yards and a touchdown in that game That was in the week five contest. And did have the game winning touchdown against the jets and thirteen. He had twelve points in that contest. so yeah those are really is only good games. But the reason why i have him here is now nelson galore. Laura's gone And that was like the top wide. Receiver for the raiders last year arguably Tyrone williams is now on the lions even though he played all last year. So this is the year that henry rug steps up. And is that number one option in vegas and i think that you know. Hopefully for his sake he does well. I mean i- outside of darren. Waller i mean who else is on this offense. You know that. I could really think of. I guess hunter renfro but you know he should be. He should take on a much larger role. This year. Henry rugs and i think that if he stays healthy you know he could be productive. You know he showed flashes. You know he's got the speed You know let's see what he does. I think that you know he's probably gonna be taking a lot later in a lot of drafts But you know. I think he could potentially be a guy that you pickup off the waiver wire Or be a bench player. Be a backup for you. Know just in case Anybody gets hurt you know. So that's my thoughts on henry rugs You know what we'll see what happens with that and then of course. You've got josh jacobs. I talked about him earlier in the show you know. I talked about the inconsistency that he sometimes you know circum- to you know in some games you know when he has a good game and then he does really bad You know. And i and i've talked to people that weren't really pleased about that. When it came to josh jacobs. But listen i i think he's a solid number two running back then he's the guy that's gonna get taken in the third fourth round again You know i. I know kenyan drake is there and you know. Let's see what happens with that. That's going to be an interesting situation but you know. What if josh jacobs plays and is effective. He's a good running back. You know so. I i think he's going to be a solid number two running back once again so That's my thoughts on him. So you know. Those are the raiders players. That i think you should draft and then moving on you got the kansas city chiefs now. It's pretty obvious on who you should take I would throw clyde edwards hilar- in there as well. I talked about him early on in the show. But really looking through the chiefs players. I mean obviously the big three. Patrick mahomes travis kelsey and tyreek hill. I think those are the guys you must have and that really outside of that. That's probably it. I mean. I don't really see damarcus robinson or mccoll hardman being guys that you'd wanna take i mean if you're playing in deeper leagues story They could definitely be waiver. Wire pickups you know in case tyreek hill gets injured. But you know. I really see Me taking any of these guys You know now that sammy watkins is gone. I think that gives them more targets. You know we'd have to wait and see how they do with the with an increased role. You know with sammy. Watkins leaving to go. Play for the ravens. But you know like. They just got to give him the football more and be more consistent running the football. And i think you'd be solid number two option At the running back spot tyreek hill. I think is a wide receiver.
