"They were fine after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges this year. And of course there was tons of controversy around this case because they had said you know the gun that the woman was holding wouldn't even fire apparently when they first got it and they made it fire than they were like yup. It's a good gun. You can count that as a weapon you know as if it would have done anything with her with it in her hand she probably wouldn't have probably wouldn't have fired anyway. Missouri's republican governor. Mike parson has now pardoned them. Something he had promised after us conservatives began to support the couple the pair. Both lawyers appeared briefly. At last year's republican national convention. Mr mccloskey has announced plans to run for a us senate seat in missouri. Wow big moves mccloskey. When the angry mob came into destroy my house and kill my family. I took a stand against him. He reportedly said in a recent campaign. But that is exaggerating. But still it was. They were on his private property. Okay guys just get that. Let's get one thing straight. They were on his private property and he was defending his private property. That's all i'm going to say about this. I'm not gonna say anymore. I'm not gonna say all the stuff surrounding it. That's it that's all there is to it and moving on moving on. I'm gonna move onto something happening right now. That was the update. You guys get that move. This can make this quick. You know what i mean. This is the toasty slice. Not toasty loaf. You know what i'm saying. Biden chides. Republican governors who resist vaccine rules. And this the reason i'm bringing this up is because it's interesting to follow up. That happens so far only arkansas. But let's let's let's again. Let's dig so president. Joe biden on tuesday called on resistant republican governors to get out of the way quote unquote of vaccine rules aimed at containing the more transmissible and dangerous. Cova nineteen variant. He backed city in private. Mandates requiring people to be vaccinated. Go about some daily activities. I want to know if this is going to backfire. I talked about this and there are in a previous episode of toasty slice. If they mandate vaccines i just said you know what bringing on bring it on. Tell me. I can't go to the mall or go see a movie or go to work or these things without being vaccinated..

Several Olympic Athletes Test Positive in Tokyo Days Before Games

"Dr Brian McCloskey chair of the Tokyo twenty twenty independent panel of medical experts says the layered approach of testing has been effective people tested before they leave we see people who get then get to the airport and they get filtered out there then you get for that when you get to finish the game start Friday in a city that is under a corona virus state of emergency there's also a slower than hoped for vaccine rollout in Tokyo McCloskey was asked about the positive coronavirus cases so far what we're seeing is what we expected to see essentially if I thought all the tests that we did we're going to be negative then I wouldn't bother doing the tests in the first place McCloskey says they need to make sure the number of positive cases is as low as possible and every case should be properly managed I'm at Donahue

"Part mccloskey is our guest. He's the man along with his wife. Patricia defended their home in saint louis. June twenty eighth of last year mark. Who would you want to play you in the movie. If you have the choices between the rock a young clint eastwood or a young charles bronson and before you answer charles bronson was a bad dude back in the day you know between between the three of those well you know the rocks the best looking guy. I'd probably go charles. Bronson who would you say would would look the most like you bob newhart remember. I don't think i was thinking. John garfield myself golf. Okay or james garner james garner. You could have. James garner about eight inches taller. Nobody knows nobody knows how tall you are. Women's last time you had shot that a are before that day. I not not very long before. I mean it's That particular ar. I bought that nineteen eighty nine. That was my my second they are. I still have the first one i bought. I bought one when i was twenty one the first version without the forward assist under you know and the triangular for stock. I'm glad i'm glad that i didn't pull that one that day because you know that's my my my collector's item. Ar and and you know the the one i was using that day is still in the possession of the saint louis metropolitan police department got no. I'll ever get back to see. That's why you have to have the backup. Ar exactly you can never have too many guns. What was the funniest comment that you got from. One of your old law school classmates high school classmates college classmates after all that when they saw you on the news they got up and said we've figured you'd make the news someday damned if you didn't. What did trump say to you. The first the interesting thing is. I'll tell you the story you guide. I can't imagine the average person can't imagine what a what a genuine person donald trump is. This is thursday during the convention We've addressed the convention on monday. Thursday was a day who's going to give his his acceptance speech. We're leaving the office. It's late in the afternoon. It's about an hour and a half before he's going to give this speech. My cell phone goes off and the voice says stand by for the president. The united states trump comes on. Say mr president. Do you mind if i put it on speaker show. My wife secretary can hear so sure. We spent fifteen twenty minutes talking about old house restoration right. And that's you know it's just like he'd know me my whole life and areas about to give the most important speeches entire life and he's talking to me about restoring mar-a-lago and what i did to restore my house you know it's like we're having a having a chat arabia and it was and then he talked a little bit about about my my issue here and about whether or not the governor. Pardon me and all this kind of stuff but really it was just like this is like my best friend called up and had a conversation with me You know over a beer. It's just just remarkable. Did the governor pardoned you to do so. We have to get convicted. I and so you know. We're at a A lincoln reagan days for the governor. A couple of weeks ago and he came in and once again promised to pardon us it in his presentation and i told the crowd crowdi. And i'm certain that he will but once again under the laws in missouri. He can't do it until after. We've actually been convicted so that you know. It's it's just a monumental waste of taxpayers money to go through this far because when when all said and done we're going to get a pardon and and it will all been for not but and you know we got the the soros-funded prosecuted costumer case and so that was good. I mean that we now have a special prosecutor who is a. You know a fair and honest guy and he's gonna take a fresh look at it. But it's still it's still ongoing and it's still uncertain. I mean we're still facing felony charges. That could cost us. Four years slammer. That's not fun now and you know. Of course you get convicted of a felony or a la la license you know. And that's the end of our careers but no week. Quite frankly decided that something different. Anyway i mean we. We made a decision that we're going to spend the rest of our lives devoted to trying to restore america. What it was when when it was really real america you know when we had freedom and rights and When america represented here individualism rather than activism. Can you win this race. I i would not be ended if i didn't think so. You know we have had tremendous response. We've been once once. He likes news over. We continue to to do presentations and their time to the capital here on the on the constitutional rights and our god given freedoms and then. We've been progressing out to lincoln reagan days for the different county. Republican party committees and when roy that he wasn't going to run for re-election people started to contact us about whether or not. I wanted to do it. So i contacted one of the chairman of the one of the biggest republican parties and parties in in the state and he said. Why don't you just go outside drive nails your feet. It'll take less time in. It'll feel better But you know we just made the we're going to do it and and we've been up for example last night. We address the saint louis county republican committee. I got two standing ovations. It's it's it's a outcry out there amongst the people everywhere. We go in missouri everywhere. We went around the country on behalf of the president for a fresh look at government so people that aren't the traditional qadri posers and career politicians people that are willing to go out there and take a stand for the truth and say what they believe regardless of the cost politically or economically and socially and and. That's and that's what i think we represent. I think we represent a change and a fresh. Look what i now. Consider to be a post political america where politicians aren't going to change your life aren't going to protect your freedoms that every individual needs to stand up for themselves and just say we are not cheap. We are free. People were going to be firstly In charge of defending our own rights. And we're not going to give that consent to the government that the that the declaration of independence talked about unless the government behaves and really respects the rights of the people. I'm thinking your campaign logo should be that picture of you and your wife but a silhouette of it and above it. We don't call nine. One one and below at mcclosky for missouri. I like that. I tell you. What on the first anniversary of the assault on our house. Which will fall on sunday. June twenty-seventh this year. We're having a big party. Big celebration of freedom. We're calling it the first annual thing guy barbecue and rhino roast and You know we're live streaming all across the country. We're going to have pink shirt guy lookalike contest. We have dress up your pet. Pink shirt guy lookalike contest. I've got half size of plastic rhino. That i'm gonna put on a skewer and the people can get selfie. Rotating a a photo rhino over a faux fire. Why were you wearing that pink shirt by the way was were you wearing that or were you in your your boxers and you slips closing. No you know. We've got a little farm outside of saint. Louis who are out there working over the weekend. That's just kinda my normal weekend whereas wearing some ratty old chino's and a an old polo shirt and we just come back. We've got an house about an hour ahead of that time. Didn't have shoes on. Didn't have socks on. We're sitting on his side forth with a with a picture of leigh's about ready to start in and when the mob hit the gate. And so i was planning and have a nice relaxing sunday afternoon with a with a barbecued pork loin and a pitcher of believes and i never got the my pork turned into a cinder on the grill.

"June twenty eighth of last year almost exactly a year ago george. Floyd protests in saint. Louis missouri broke out and trespassed into a private community. And that is when mark mccloskey and his wife. Patricia decided that had enough. They went outside their home and stood there and them in a nation roared in applause changing his life and now he's running for the united states senate to succeed roy blunt in a seat that will open because roy blunt is retiring at the end of his term next year so primaries next year and election next november mark mccloskey is our guest. Welcome sir thank you for having me. Walk me through if you would. I don't want to dwell on that day but it is why you come to our attention. What was going through your mind at the moment where you said honey. We gotta go outside. We can't wait and here like here's here's the background you know you mentioned George floyd on june the first in june the second of last year the the mob decided to burn down downtown. Saint louis and They torched and they looted and they shot four police officers and killed retired. Police captain david doran during his secondary employment at a pawn shop about a half a mile from where. I'm sitting right here and so it was. It was a dangerous dangerous environment news. Crowds turned deadly violence at the drop of a hat. So is sunday afternoon. June twenty eighth last year my wife. My thirty one year old daughter had come in from chicago to have dinner with us. We're sitting out on the patio of repairing barbecue and all of sudden the street fills six lane wide street outside our private neighborhood with an angry mob screaming shouting banging on drums smashing on the street with sticks and and all the sudden We look over at the gate and think. gosh. I hope they don't come this direction. And then the gate -burse open gets pulled down to the ground and people start stumbling over each other coming in. Well i sit out on the porch. And i faced them and i said the two most racist white supremacist words in the world i had private property and because these folks are communist when i said private property and rates them and they started storing me on every so much more my wife and daughter went in the house to call nine one one and i reached around the door and grabbed my ar. Fifteen and i stood out on the porch and confronted him. And you know. I can every expectation that it would be just like had been in downtown saint louis. We're just like what had happened to captain doran and that they would rush the building and and kill us and burn the house down and they were certainly screaming that they were screaming murder and rape and death and arson and even killing our dog pointing up the different rooms of the house. This is where. I'll this is my bedroom. This'll be my kitchen. This is where. I'm gonna take my shower after we kill you and take out. That's that's the that's the scenario did any of them call dibs on your office in say i'll setup shop in there for my consulting practice you know they said and this is a quote. You've got gotta business. Your business gone as soon as the riot past our house. I went over to my office. Which is an eighteen eighty. Seven three story victorian three blocks from my house and was there to a two thirty in the morning having boarded up for that reason and then we had the house boarded up the next day. I mean i'm sitting in the living room of that house right now. Looking bought proof lexicon on the front of the windows. Maybe they just read. Shakespeare in took him at face value when he settled. Kill all the lawyers absolute like you know. I don't know they may have known as a lawyer. But you know the the advertising fire digress. One of the nice things for criminals about living in a city ruled by democrats for seventy seven years. Is that they know that there is no consequence to behavior and so they actually advertised when they're going to have a mob action and the The advertisement for the riot that came into my neighborhood Said we're gonna be loud. They think this is a joke They're gonna you know we have to be in their face and then it says and we have a surprise. I think the surprise was us. I think the surprise was breaking down our gates and coming into this private place for the to the very purpose that's like said subsequently at the republican convention of bringing the riott into the neighborhoods and not just in urban communities but bringing it into a quiet residential neighborhoods and i think that was her intent. I listened to you. And i say yeah i could see this guy taking his ar and standing out there and saying this is it. You've push me too far. I'm a man. this is my house. i'm gonna to protect. I had to tell you. I really love your wife because she had this look like. I'm the last person that would be out here with my little peashooter but by god i am backed me in a corner and i'm standing by my man. Tell me about her. Well he's amazing. I gotta tell you. I thought she was inside calling nine one one and all of a sudden i see her out there between me and the mob. I'm up on the porch. I've got a low wall and a hedge between me and the mob. All of the sudden i see patio out there waving that dumb astronaut bracco pistol overhead inches from the mob. And i think oh my guess what. I don't think she's ever fired it. Has she ever actually fired it. Knock yep she had never fired a gun in her life up to that moment and she was just she stated holiday in the night before. I'm sorry but she stayed at a holiday in the night before she she just had enough. I mean this you know. They have no respect for private property. They have no respect for the rights of others. So what happens so you know. There's that famous shot that famous photo of of youtube. That's gone net that that that's gone viral and what happens to the police ever arrived. How does the crowd disperse what what happens from there. We stood them off. And i'll tell there were two guys in body armor that were there just to be intimidating right in front of me with polls to loaded magazines out of the pockets of his body armor points from me so i can see they're loaded with shells them together points at me and says your next. The guy sent an extra wearing light-colored body armor antiques. Type stuff. where all you can see of his eyes. And he's wearing a sidearm and he keeps inching closer and closer. There's one picture you'll see where i'm leaning over my left shoulder talking to patty and i what i'm saying is if he comes any closer i'm going to have to kill him and if you look closely at the picture you'll see that. I slid the selector switch on that. A are a fire and she leans over to me and she says you're not killing anybody today so i put it back on safety. Never put off a shot but we stood stood our ground and eventually the crowd moved on. I mean that's that's the power of the second amendment even if you don't have to fire your weapon just having it. There has deterrent force. That can't be equal by by anything else. Two of us against a mob of hundreds and the only thing that made a difference between us and the mob was we were standing there with weapons with every intensive of using them if necessary. Is there anything looking back that you did or said that you would do differently or that. You didn't do that you would do well. I think we do it all exactly the same. I've got to say this that if you had asked me mom sunday afternoon at two o'clock on june twenty eighth before all. This happened what i wanted most in life i would have said i want the world to leave me the heck alone. Let me live peacefully. The world made a different decision and god came knocking on her door. That day. disguises an angry mob and it caused us to just commit ourselves to doing whatever we could for the rest of our lives when they came back. The next friday on july the third with a specific intent of killing us and burning down the house when we used to revive that second assault and i just made the determination that we were gonna put our lives on hold and do whatever we could for the rest of our lives to save this nation. The paul writes back and to decentralized power we went on the trump campaign and even after the election. We've been campaigning for civil liberties and our constitutional rights.

"And Patricia McCloskey, a couple who brandished guns that black lives matter. Protestors in walked passed through the home. NPR's Mara Liasson says the main theme seemed to be that voters don't have a choice this election day. I guess I would some of the thesis That the alternative to Donald Trump is simply unthinkable. It's the end of the American way of life and everything that you hold dear. That's the message to Republicans who might have strayed parts of the Trump base that he's lost. He's gotten softening support with seniors, even with white non college voters. But then woven throughout That really apocalyptic message was this other kinder, gentler message trying to repair Donald Trump's image and some of his deficits. NPR's Mara Liasson, Postmaster General Lewis to Joy was back on Capitol Hill yesterday. Lawmakers are concerned the agency won't be prepared to handle an unprecedented number of mail in ballots in the November election. NPR's Amy held reports to Joy testified the changes he has overseen since taking over in June, are geared toward improving costs and performance. He denied that he directed the removal of mailboxes processing machines and overtime for workers. But he did concede to something else. Well, we have had temporary service decline, which should not have happened. We are fixing this. But Democratic Congressman Jerry Connolly says D Joy has already sown doubt in americansminds about the postal Service. What leader would think that even the possibility of flowing down male in a time such as this is a good idea to joy says the service is capable of delivering ballots on time. But he encouraged Americans voting by mail to request their ballots early and vote early as a quote common sense. Best practice. Amy held NPR news. Wild fires continue to burn all around the San Francisco Bay area, threatening homes and disrupting life. One Dozer for hire company is cutting fire breaks at night and serving breakfast in the morning. Kevin Stark, with member station KQED reports. The Cowpoke Cafe is about the only place to get a bite seat now in Middletown, on the western flank of the second largest wildfire in state history. We're feeding about 60 70 people a day here. "A brighter future for ourselves for our Children for our country. That's what's at stake in this election. And that's why we must re elect Donald Trump. Not bless you. God bless the president and God bless these United States. Mark and Patricia Mcclosky. Speaking at the Republican National Convention. They face felony charges for waving firearms in a threatening manner at demonstrators who were marching through the couple's neighborhood on their way to the home of the mayor of ST Louis, who lives nearby. They said, Your family will not be safe in the radical Democrats, America and Democrats have brought us nothing but destruction. ABC News political analyst Steve Roberts is with us before the McCloskey's and Andrew Pollack before them decrying the gun policies of Joe Biden. It's almost as if they're they're scaring voters into staying away from Biden of the Democrats. Well. Gun policy is a critical element of the Trump base. It doesn't get a lot of attention these days because gun control flares up a cz an issue after a tragic shooting, then tends to die away. But this is a core belief on the part of the Trump base. It's one of those issues that energizes the base. If you look at national polling, the majority of Americans are in favor strongly of good, sensible gun control legislation. Things that would keep assault weapons out of the hands of of ordinary folks weapons. They're, for instance, designed for killing soldiers, not for protecting homes. But the This is a core belief on the part of a segment of America and they believe it very strongly on DH. This is an issue that is very much part of the of the base. The question is, in a much larger sense, though, Erin is whether Donald Trump can go beyond his base is basis somewhere around 37. Maybe 40 Maybe 41 to 42%. He got 46% of the vote in the last election. 41 42% is not going to win the election. So can a knish. You'd like the gun control and the McCloskey's can certainly energized the base. But cannot reach beyond the base. That's very dubious. Aaron and and Trump does not do that. If he can't find a way to expand his base. He's got a big political problem. Erin ABC News political analyst Steve Roberts, the Republican Convention Here's next from Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Fox News host. Who is now dating Donald Trump Jr. The president held a son. I speak to you tonight as a mother, Ah, former prosecutor Latina and a proud American, and, yes, a proud supporter of President Donald J. Trump. Why? Because he is the president who delivers for America. He built the greatest economy the world has ever known for the strivers, the working class and middle class. As commander in chief. He always puts America first President Trump is the law and order president. Now presidential leadership is not guaranteed. It is a choice Biden Harris and the rest of the social as well fundamentally change this nation. They want open borders, closed schools, dangerous amnesty and well, selfishly, send your jobs back to China while they get rich. They will defund, dismantle and destroy America's law enforcement. When you were in trouble and need police don't count on the Democrats. As a first generation American. I know how dangerous their socialist agenda is. My mother. Miss Ellis was a special education teacher from my weather. Puerto Rico. My father, also an immigrant, came to this nation in pursuit of the American dream. Now I consider it my duty to fight to protect that dream. All rioters must not be allowed to destroy our city's few men. Sex drug traffickers should not be allowed to cross our border. The same socialist policies, which destroyed places like Cuba and Venezuela must not take root in our cities and our schools. If you want to see the socialist Biden Harris future for our country. Just take a look at California. It is a place of immense wealth, immeasurable innovation and immaculate environment on the Democrats turned it into a land of discarded heroin needles in parks riot in streets on blackouts in homes. In President Trump's America way like things that we don't dimmed them down. We build things up. We don't burn them down. We kneel in prayer and we stand for our flag. This election is a battle for the soul of America. Your choice is clear. Do you support that Cancel culture? The cosmopolitan elites of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer and Joe Biden, who blame America first. Do you think America is to blame? Or do you believe in American greatness Believe in yourself in President Trump individual and personal responsibility? They want to destroy this country and everything that we have fought for and hold dear. They want to steal your liberty. Your freedom. They.

Now, the problem is no one will hear about it. mccloskey's sue everyone was them heck? Yeah. They're gonNA see no matter what civil rights frigging investigation on. Kim Gardner but Kim Gardner meanwhile one. She won right because she got her way all the publicity wart. Yeah. She got her viral publicity and now who ever agreed with agrees with her more yeah. Visiting. Eliciting that's that's just. Part of yeah that is. Insane trump even was like this is an extreme abuse of the. Second Amendment or something like that extreme abuse of power or some. It is for sure and. So Missouri Misdemeanor assault is a person's. Purposefully a purpose a person purposely. Plans. Another. Person In apprehension. Of immediate physical injury. So. If a purpose if a person sorry, I can't speak I, can't speak and read the state. If a person purposefully displays Like malice towards another person in apprehension of immediate physical injury is what the law states. That's misdemeanor assault. So according to the video. Just. That picture right. There of a guy doing this to mccloskey's. Right there was his crowd. Yeah, right. He's that's. That's literally misdemeanor assault when you hear supposedly really and then you hear supposedly you know Jay Janice or whatever name is. Were saying. That they were saying, you know I'm GonNa. Live in that room. Can come in living your house while you guys watching. Yeah. That's absolutely. Absolutely threatening that was what they were saying that is true. Then I would be like Oh is that what you're GonNa do you know? What Sorry. That's like that's protecting property young. It's like imagine this imagine this. This is a good way to put it in perspective. If you treat your house and your property and I'm not saying that a person is property. So don't get me wrong here when I start to say this, but I'm trying to compare it here and you have someone you love and you you know standby right there and you're going to protect them. Right. if someone was speaking to your wife husband kid anything like that. The same way they were speaking to the mccloskey's if that was happening about their house, then you would literally be like Oh is that what you're going to punch in the face or you know what?.

I mean I don't know Saint Louis Specific Statutes regarding Saint Louis itself. But to me. They're not being threatening. I'd be like I feel like they're being threatened I think she's being threatening because she has her finger on the trigger. If you look at the pictures, she is a finger on the wall and she's pointing rate at but look at how she's point. It's so funny is you don't know how to handle. Little, like she has her like elbow bit and she's like you guys get off my lawn. It was hilarious me. memo his fingers on the trigger in every. Like, stay over the get the heck out. Right. Because then he could have brought it up or whatever but like also. Their personal injury lawyers that they are so they they knew what they were doing the whole time. Just, not abide by the law just Willy Nilly. or You could have the same argument saying they know how to defend themselves maybe but they have their own lawyer anyway doesn't matter. Besides all that apparently that gun she had was not able to shoot when they got it. Wrong. They confiscated it for evidence it didn't shoot. Finding out now from some news sources, Mercury News and. and. Channel Five was. That one may have been I duNno frigging five hundred side never mind then but yeah, no they said that they reassembled in the crime lab and got it to shoot and then said both of these weapons were lethal. Enable So now, they can charge them. Rights weapon was not lethal than it doesn't matter at the time because it says waving around a lethal weapon in a threatening manner business. And so a lethal weapon would be something that can shoot projectiles during the. Lol. Or? Some other form? No. Baseball that. would be like literally swinging a baseball bat someone right? Exactly. So Be like tampering almost wouldn't it? I mean like Yeah that's that's I. Feel like that's that could be evidence tampering, but it could also just be. A judge may made de met admissible or he may allow it he or she male yeah. Yeah. Good right and we're still waiting on. Read a month ago. And we're still waiting on somebody to say something about are they going to trial or what's going on there charged formally indicted? So they are, they will go to I'm sure they're talking with lawyers and seeing exactly what they're gonNa do if I was the mccloskey's I would go to trial and if convicted it doesn't matter because the governor said he's going to pardon him which I believe he would do. there under intense pressure from the attorney. General of the state to. Dismiss the case. The case you'd be involved in it. Yeah and what I don't. What's GonNa? Here's what's I see happening. We go through this. And let's just pretend they go to jail or they get charged actually in their guilty. Okay fine. Right after that, right after that day in court. We're not going to hear another word about it. What's going to happen the attorney general just GonNa Pardon him he's like cool..

"Beverly Harbored. We've got ST Louis police this weekend on Friday seized a gun from Mark and hatred and Patricia McCloskey. You'll remember they were the couple in San Luis were standing outside their home holding their weapons. Because they were being threatened for their lives by the people who were coming past their home who had broken through the fence, the gate on their private property, and we're walking through that private street and shouting insanity is and threats at this couple couple holding their guns to defend their home who felt that you couldn't get the police there to help them. They were left to their own devices and that video become becoming famous. The cops have seized their weapons. The police went on. They took Thie, 15 Mark McCloskey was holding. Additionally, Another weapon was taken The one net. Patricia McCloskey was holding her hand gun. Apparently, she had already turned it over to her former attorney, his guide and al Watkins, and he was telling reporters outside of the courthouse in ST Louis on Saturday that he turned over the handgun. The police. The reason he took the handgun was to make sure it wasn't tampered with, he says. According to that attorney One of the weird things in the videos. You see, Patricia. She's obviously concerned about her well being. But she's waving the gun around. There's like no muzzle discipline whatsoever. It's just like kind of flopping around in front of all the people. She was also got her finger on the trigger. Apparently, according to their attorney, out walk ins. That gun was inoperable. And she knew it at the time. She was wielding it that way, which is interesting and but somehow ST Louis is prosecutors have decided that you know the real suspects. Here are the couple who wanted to defend their home. These are the people we need to go after. Yeah, the only crime I see here is somebody not being properly trained on a gun. That's something that everybody should should have less than should they have a gun? But here's the question I have for you events is, though, in order to be able to seize weapons, you have to have probable cause that criminal activity has taken place. What was their criminal activity? What is the basis of taking away their property and by the way, taking away their ability to defend themselves? Now everybody knows now unless they have a whole arsenal in their home, And maybe they dio. How did they protect themselves in the future? Great question. Now we know they don't have the guns, and that's and I wish. I wish I had the answer to your question because I'm looking at coverage from places like CBS News. They executed a search warrant to seize the guns and ST Louis. Police charging Keith Barrett quote said the weapon was seized as part of the investigation into the viral incident from June 28. Barnett did not name the McCloskey's. But the warrant was executed at their address an investigation into what An investigation into them standing there, indicating that they were prepared to defend themselves in their home. What is the law that they broke by doing that on their own property? Well, thankfully, there are Republicans who are standing up and reaching out Tio attorney general Bar saying that this is an infringement on our second Amendment rights. I completely agree, so I'm glad that Republicans have a backbone on this issue. Some 12 of them. There's so many more Republican Congressman Don't give.

"A high of 97 Island wailing in the storm Watch seven Weather center right now in the nation's capital 75 degrees, 8 47 Remember the couple from ST Louis. The lawyers, Trump supporters. Thie McCloskey's Mark McCloskey was the guy holding the A R 15 has a mob of people trespassed on private property that was there in front of his, and he was threatened by that mob did a series of interviews this week. One of the interviews he did was with him last night. But he also did an interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo. He was seated next to his lawyer during all of this, Chris We did not prepare for the interview because he had no idea what he was talking about. At one point, he suggested that President Trump had tweeted and then deleted a video of McCloskey holding his weapon. On and he did it. You know, because of something about white supremacy or something. It's deranged. Cuomo doesn't coma did not prepare it all for the segment. He doesn't actually know what he's talking about. But that's neither here nor there. Watches McCloskey throws down with them as soon as Chris Cuomo starts accusing the president of him and him of being a part of some sort of white resistance to black lives matter. Listen to this. I want to talk to you about the broader implication because it's just a horrible picture of what's going on in America right now. So to me, it's not about what's right and what's wrong. Just in a court of law, it's about what we want right to right and wrong about how we treat each other. And that's why I was with Mr Watkins. You know it, Mr Mcclosky, you know it. He re tweeted it because he liked the image off white resistance to this movement, and I'm not saying that was fair to you, but we know that's why I did it because that's why he deleted it. I wanted you to I'm glad you're a mind reader, because no one else thinks you are. In fact, he didn't believe it makes my point. Even though you didn't say that. It was sent to me for me. I'm thinking about something else where someone was screaming White power in a video that the president retweeted he deleted that won. He didn't believe the one of you. I wanted to give you a chance to speak about it. We both know you don't have to be a mind reader. To assess a pattern. You're not a mind reader, either. I haven't seen the video of the person clapping the magazines, but you drew certain inferences from the baker before you. I'm doing the same thing. We've seen behavior before us. I'm making a judgment. I'm sorry that you're caught in it the way you are, If it's not what you intended by all of this, Mr McCloskey, and I wish you good luck, Mr Watkins. Thank you for representing your client. Appreciate you taking the opportunity to be well out. You hear that? That's what my dad boom. Chris Cuomo. That was a disaster. So what Chris Cuomo's trying to do because he's disgusting is trying accused President Trump and everyone around him. And this guy, Mark McCloskey, who was defending his home, and you heard it in the interview. Cuomo is like, Well, I was going to take you at your word. McCloskey had earlier in the interview, described that somebody had clicked Mac magazines together and threatened McCloskey's life. Who is a part of that group. And McCloskey was like Not today, Brother. I've got my gun. I'm gonna stand here and defend myself on my property. And Cuomo first of all, expressing skepticism that that even occurred and then because he's dumb Mixes up the fact that the video that he's referring to is not the one McCloskey was in it all. Cuomo was talking about this video that was shot at the villages where a bunch of Trump supporters were riding in these golf carts past a bunch of anti trump people. Biden supporters on some woman was screaming about Where's your cake? Cake? A hood and this old guy response would power Like it's a good joke. And Trump took that video down after he got some blowback for that guy screaming that, But regardless Chris Cuomo, not exactly one of his finer moments, no, but that's what you know, according to the Media Research Center. This is what the media is doing with exactly what we saw happen there with those homeowners defending their home. On Monday night, ABC and NBC and according to the Media Research Center, intentionally hid fax. They insisted the mob was made up of peaceful, peaceful protesters and demonized that couple on the NBC Nightly News. Lester Holt talked about the president Retweeting the video that Chris Cuomo was just talking about about them standing there he came in. He was he was confusing them, as you just said. He said this evening a new firestorm involving President Trump after he retweeted, an inflammatory video made during a protest in ST Louis. So this is what happens. Chris Cuomo when you're trying to paint a narrative and not report the news, sometimes you get it mixed up because you can't remember the last lie Well, Cuomo's mad that the guy was white and had a gun. That's the center of this story. This is insane. What about what about the black stOreowners in Minneapolis that we're holding guns to protect their stores during the rites? What? I don't understand why, Why do you understand why he's doing it? But it's contemptible is what it is that we treat people differently. Based on their skin color is, of course, the opposite of what we should be doing. We should be treating them uniformly and That's that's the promise of America and you know Chris Cuomo and CNN. They just like on a routine basis violate that promise, because they'd rather have a country that segregated based on skin color, which is insanity state 50 to life with doctors, Sanjay Gupta, It's important to teach your kids how to make their own healthy choices..

I've every morning when I get up my partner and I you know in the evening we pretty much leave all our dishes overnight and one of my practices and I hadn't really thought about it and I really appreciate you saying this. Yes I always start with washing the dishes and kind of cleaning the kitchen. Every morning has become a default part of my practice. And I've kind of weirdly enjoyed it but I love what you just said you just really redefined the experience for me in. Because I'm being custodial. Im preparing the space. It feels so so good to clean the counters in the dishes. So that there's this empty canvas if you will yes and it makes us feel feel that we've not left anything out in the process. We didn't just show up to be stars on the middle of the Dayton. What now airs? I've taken the come off the wall. How we honor this humanity of you do that? Then we don't look at people doing the gum on the chair on the stage being different but really performing different parts of a larger conversation which allows us to really appreciate that when we see ourselves as that we can really include rather than exclude. So it's so profound yet and so simple. So humble of vying humbling is at the word. I'm looking for like humble. fighing sounded more fun. But no. That's so beautiful and and also extending that. This is a practice that I'm that also you're helping me really reframe as being the custodian of my body doing the things first thing in the morning. Not a really reflective of self care rather than I was thinking this morning there. There was a point where I was like Kat. It's so annoying to have a body like a lot of work was it is there. Is this whole mindset Leinster in Silicone Valley. How do we defeat the body? How do we escape? Body had we upload our consciousness into a computer so that we have to deal with these things that wear out every hundred injured years or so Goodness so much lead. We could talk for hours and hours and hours. I mean I could just listen to you. I'm I'm so enriched by you and your presence thank you so much for saying yes to this. Thank you very much. Its inspiration such a delight to speak with you really. Is there Will work in our listeners. Learn more about you than what you're up to. Where would you want them to go? "When it was one one one one one it was a line of development and that took time? Now think of that as an analogy. We've been going through time those journeys through all these different conditions but we are now at this turning home this coming full circle. That's what I think. The key to the art here in the community here is so essential because what we discovered even in the structure of this. You know this this remarkable structure is. It's this story that that we find in the wizard of Oz. Dorothy is in the black and white world difficulty. She wants to see that there's more more than that she goes to ours into color. There's Munchkins there's all sorts but she doesn't want to stay there. The first thing she wants to do is get home at home to those I love in the imagination means. I'm going off in Lala. Land help me get home and so it does the good witch say she says. Close Your eyes. You've never really left but you will away. So by the time she comes back at the comes back to the black and white world right. She's just trying to get out of the difficulty but suddenly she sees beyond the outer older person a deeper beauty. And that's what I really feel now is like the idea is the instrument for us is black and white it is always this archetypal journey of the characters of our stories but the imagination integrated finally like it is in this hall says now we can navigate the black things and understand. You sound like a piano. Those characters are always with us so like devil love the empress. Of course you must like the devil. That's the point of the story. The right always there because essentially dump during the redeemer meaning. I just wanted to test your values is I'll I love that I. I learned from Mark Twain. His book as at the Perfect Stranger. I can't remember the his short story a the perfect the perfect stranger where he totally redefined Satan from me. And Gimme a whole new perspective in the Tarot and I love how you described in your presentation on the Tarot. The Devil's job is really there to just help view kind of make sure your integrity with yourself incense and England. I wrote about it and said the point of the dabble is the archetypally is Mirth Mirth is like you're taking it way too seriously right. Yeah no I step against the wall and there's so it's like it's like. How do I create again? Dan Prospection with material reality because again the energies of madder that fixate US fixate as thinking that it's the object and and finally though because we go through that journey almost like we learn the piano. We learned the keys. Were finally given permission to be the piano. And that's where I think we're at I really think we're coming from developing over the last eight hundred years in particular going back to King Arthur and the grail knights of this journey and then the beginning of the Sistine Chapel in this vaulted sense of the eighteen foot high sculpture. Everything was about this grand outward thrusting ego that on nine eleven essentially reaches the twin pillars of Dodd and these directions. The can't go hire a sense. Have vaulted view but keep the people wait from everything collapsed and in this story then I do feel they bring us back to humility as if the artist falling off the scaffolding. We're not arguing with popes. In God's Gods nobody who thinks art is relevant. Yeah in a way. It's giving US bacchus human beings. You're the artform meaning. You are what you create. That was my dad's ads gift to me. When he died? I realized the painting secret. Yeah our life. Yeah I see that in you know as you're sharing thinking back again about the wizard of Oz and how win Dorothy returns. She sees in all her. What were before? Just her mundane family members now. She sees the wizards she sees the lions. She sees their infused with magic that they didn't have before she went on that journey into imagination. Absolute and I think this is live when we think about why are these stories so significant. It was very interesting with the fire back to that. What showed up here? I kid you not was a fire tornado and told us of of the wizard of Oz. Here because it's so relational but it's interesting that even the mythic signature here as it's tornado. Show up and this idea of. We've been using the the imagination to escape like Dorothy. We don't want to leave those we love in other words. It's like I want to go to Mars. But if I gotta go away for fifteen years and I have a family. I'm going to go you know certain age. That's fine but the other when you take on the responsibilities you think I don't want it to be about leaving. I WANNA find out. How do I create the theater of the hero? Now how do I and I think that's what the library is saying. It's saying look you've offloaded your human story. So there's the sixteenth century the seventeenth century. There is the Aztecs. Byzantine when you see this is all part of your human story but part of the greater. We've you know in the sense your created created from all of this and yet you're able to be uniquely human in the sense uniquely ordinary that to me. Is this indicator that the last point would be not to tell your neighbor how to be or what's wrong with them but to finally realize that we are starting from being on our knees. Finally saying what. What do you need from me? I've been responding to the outer world. I've been fighting a battle for thousands of beetle woman. Trying to find some relevance over and over again I am I am on my knees. What do you need from me and I really feel that these energies are saying for you to be here to not trade your creative spirit to finally finally say even if it's only between you and me and I closed the door that's why this is my home right? It's the it's my home because your home is but up for judgment judgment. It's not like what do you think of my daughter's alive. It's like I'm asking you would using my daughter's life in other words it's not up for I give her a sex. It's not judgment judgment. It's about an invitation to sing in bringing my family and your family. In bringing people together we are honoring the sense of a unique identity. Unique Nick home like a book library. Your your book has a different name on it than my does open. Your book is completely different lights than mine in at core it. Here's what human and we understand that. Then we adore the humanity of the library because we're woven of it but then we also door the fact that we're given an abacus is your net. Every man is Adam in this story meaning that each of us are woven of the whole and holy the holographic story. It's it's it's our mechanism so we have innocence the villainous Adam and the good atom kind husband and the brutal husband. But when we understand that this is it's all part of the story. We are finally clear to say so. What part of that story too I choose to activate within myself because as I am a seat that will grow according to the ideas? I infused myself with if I choose myself with this idea. Let me begin with where I live. Let me begin with the linoleum with the ordinary. This sense that I'm not Goldman. I didn't win the lottery. I didn't show up with the title. And that's when I finally think we finally reclaim our Emerson are American sold. It says yeah. You didn't want time. You wanted to relationship with nature in the land that gave you a relationship relationship with God. The great outdoors stays you at sense of wonder the sense of. I'm part of a great experiment. A possibility in human capacity participate in that. Even if I don't know why I wonder so. I WANNA finish with a really big question. You've probably answered it in some way and and I think a lot of our listeners. In this to this conversation y'all thought you were coming here for answers. BITCHY got a lot more questions. Don't you live the questions that's the deal. It's the dance. That's the play leap. I WanNa ask you this question what do you think. Then what do you think is the biggest challenge facing men today. I believe that as we have to begin to deeply hold appreciate the journey of Man Dan in ourselves meaning that we are all of our conditions so we cannot feel either good no guilty over all of these things but we can honor them by saying if this is part of my story. If this is part of who I am then let me not rejected nor reject another man but see in that greater expression those resistances those difficulties the incapacity to love the fear of love and begin to appreciate that I can somehow even make a small inroad into changing that within myself then inversely because I am Holographic I am genetically you and you are ethnically me then. Every chain remake incrementally allows the what I think of his oxygenation oxygenation a bit of brass and I would almost say that we are at a point where men have to breathe. They have to see the storm with with me to the the sense of upset. The fury of different. This is what I feel very strongly. I was in the killing fields the year to the day where the fires hit Malibu and I was standing doing the killing fields meeting. I was in Cambodia. Yeah I was overwhelmed with a sense of deep soul trauma because they're looking into the heart of darkness. It looked back at me and it was not interested at all in what I saw. When I smell politics were it was devouring moorings thing? When you're in a killing field millions of it thinkable what's gone on have been Auschwitz? Then you know all that free days there that's soil that cry at but I'm standing there said these are not your tears. Tears you ought to bear witness you are to see that. The blood of the ages is not the story of the age. It is in spite of the blood of the ages and it said look at our children look at the smiles on people's faces it is in spite of this darkness that humanity is formed. Not because of it so do not think you can solve the darkness it it will destroy you rise like job in spite of that difficulty is the I choose while I live the life not fear. You're of truth. And that doesn't mean for the world that means a sentinel standing like a tree and that's I think it's very interesting for me is I felt that I left Sentinel meaning I will bear witness and then a year later to bear witness to this fire as well and I realize this is the human fire. It's the story of of judgment in the archetypes. which is this burning away of the old stories? That are no longer of service. But they're creating a different stentor a different place to sit in ourselves and to really give ourselves permission to understand that the story can't begin the change range unless we give permission that it can change and this is about ourselves and I think it's very important that we begin to honor the approach to things like as I say when I teach painting art I would say that you can't know how to do so what you want to do is to create the willingness to let something be expressed to let it come out to do and to just begin a relationship that grows a sense of interest do no so. That's that's where yeah good and I would encourage your listeners to rewind about five minutes and listen to all that again. Listen to this whole podcast again. This is like one of those secrets there. So many secrets that just the more you spend time in this conversation you're going to unlock more and more layers of of mystery like like your Home Lee just magnificent and that the words have no words of course any words of Pale in comparison to the experience periods of being in your home and and listening to you and and so thank you so much. We're GONNA finish with just what I call the five key. Takeaways finale rounds kind of ground. This bring this home number one key insight. What's the one key insight that you would offer our listeners? That you believe can make a meaningful impact act on their lives because it has in yours trust yourself.

"Absolutely. The grieving parents of Lauren mcklusky are opening up for the first time since their daughter was killed on the university of Utah campus by a man, she dated for just one month. She was so excited about having her career about having a family in the future. We won't get to see any of that or experiencing that in October the twenty one year old track star broke up with Melvin Roland after discovering he was a registered sex offender on parole who lied about his age and identity after the break-up the Thirty-seven-year-old began harassing her through Email and text mcklusky feeling threatened. I on tactic university of Utah campus police on October twelfth. Eric from security are crappy more Carlos. Little. About. Situation. And I wanted to kind of. Given the college senior calling on campus, and at the Salt Lake City police department over the course of ten days, I'm worried because I've been working with the campus police at the and. And last Saturday I recorded, and I haven't gotten an update one thing. She did tell me is that she said she says it feels like I'm bothering them because she calls. She was calling so much and then and then I remember telling her it's their job to listen to you. You know, if you're complaining. They weren't they weren't. They weren't. They weren't taking her seriously then on the evening of October twenty second tragedy struck can you tell me can you walk me through what happened? I was on the phone. What's her as she was as she was coming home from class? And then all of a sudden, she yells. No, no, no. And then the line was still open. And and then and then Matt called nine one one she was affected while talking to her on her getting salted at that moment. Police say Roland grab mcklusky pulled her into a car and shot her role later took his own life at their home in Washington state, Lawrence track medals, still hang on the wall. The mccloskey's now say the university of Utah failed their daughter, they should've investigated. They would have very quickly found his parole status and one call we wouldn't be sitting here shortly after her death, the university of Utah's president releasing an independent review of the case and announcing actions to improve campus safety. The report does not offer any reason to believe that this tragedy could have been prevented the university of president said that there was nothing that could have been done to prevent learns death. I just had a six stomach for. Days after that. In a statement ABC news, the university says they grieve Lawrence loss and that their report quote identified areas of deficiency in the university systems and processes and made thirty recommendations for ways to improve them the university is acting immediately to correct the division series. If that's true. There was no way then why are all of these reforms being implemented? These changes correct would be pointless. When asked about this directly, the university, again acknowledged serious mistakes were found and is now working to correct them this as the mcklusky start a new foundation and Lawrence honor hoping to improve campus safety and celebrate their daughter's life are you angry mostly sad. The sadness is so complete. I don't have room for for anger that we want. We do want change. The university of Utah says they are increasing training for officers and hiring victim advocate who will work closely together with detectives in addition to promoting campus safety, the mccloskey's new foundation also supports charitable work in areas that were very important to Lauren athletics, an animal welfare, and you can learn more at Lauren mcklusky dot org. But her mother told me at one point Lauren called the detective twenty two times. She did everything.
