"Maximus. Moving people and technology forward. 8 45 in here's Dave Johnson. You know, this lived golf series has us following the money. It's the Saudi backed tour stop is at the Trump national golf club bedminster, New Jersey outside New York. Yeah, mad ward of seated editor of gold today following that money. I think that's going to be the bigger issue coming forward about, not just golf getting money from the Saudis, but where does this money come from for the World Cup, the Olympic Games and everything else that ties into international sport. And as ward points out, the PGA Tour is not an innocent victim here because they have had events in China themselves. They've given releases to players to have played in Saudi Arabia earlier this year. So the PGA Tour is going to be put on the spot as they should be about consistency if you're going to talk about blood money from Saudi Arabia, then why is the PGA Tour having event staged in places that maybe are clearly involved with situations of this type? Now PGA Liv golf will compete for the game's younger players and the majors will have a major save. "Hinch brought to you by McClaren HEALTHCARE, the official health system of the Detroit Tigers. Anybody for a three game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates, a series win in Cincinnati with a 41 win yesterday. AJ let's just start right there. There's a lot to like about that series win otherwise, and it was a good team that we faced and we were able to hang with them. Offensively. There was some explosiveness on both sides and so coming out of winning two games Out of three on the road against a team that's fighting for a playoff berth. And the way we did it against a really good picture on Sunday in the series deciding game I thought was was pretty cool to watch our guys compete and play and and hustle, run the bases, put pressure on them and And come out of it with a series win as the reward, So I'm proud of our guys. I'd love to just kind of go through your eyes that sixth in because there was so many little things going on starts five innings. Luis Castillo. He's terrific. He's next, e. Cuba do on an 02 98 down away, hits a ground ball down the left field line and just beats the throw to second to start the inning Hustle double, which beats the shift and is able to get out of the box and Never gave up on the play, and it was bang banging. We ended up going to replay and the empire was right that he was safe and And against the picture. You get a guy in scoring position with no outside it gets a picture like this tea is really big and having a keel at second. Put some pressure on them. They've got to now defend the stolen base and third base. We also have a you know, an electrifying baserunner. Um, you know, the kick started ending at the top of our order with the middle of it coming up. Scope lines out software. The second base kill doesn't get doubled off Girls Man hits a ground ball lavado airports, runners at the corners, and then you steal. Grossman goes to second and that changes what the infield is doing and what the pictures do so in a 00 game, you know, a lot of attention is focused on keeping the runner at third base off of home plate, right? Obviously, they don't want to relinquish the lead, so When when you know wouldn't Robbie's at first base and they're not going to pay close attention to them. They did sort of a fake fake break, and it didn't look like they were paying that much attention to him. And Robbie picked up on that and went to second base. As we want them to be aggressive. You had a green light. We were able to get Votto off the line from covering first base for the subsequent change up that was hooked down the line. So it all worked out the the lack of fear at a Robby Grossmann to take second base, you know? And risk getting thrown out on basis. I know we make a lot of doubts on the basis, but that mentality really lead to a High leverage situation for candy who came through with a really big triple. So he triples into and then on the house fly ball kind of a line drive to right. He actually kind of Miss Reed starts down the line gets back to the bag, and he probably knows he's late. But he just turns around and bus for home and makes a nice slide around the Yeah, so there's two parts of that. It's like again getting the ball elevated against Castillo is really hard, especially for right handed hitters. So Ha speaking. Being able to not try to yank the ball, not try to pull the ball into the seats in left field, but take the ball up the middle the other way with a fly ball That's obviously was a little far to right field and you know you want the ball to center field, but Elevating the ball is really key in that spot. Candy did get a misread, broke back and then and then was just safe at home plate. So so many things that went our our way. I mean, capitalizing on the air of the stolen base, the Candelario to strike base here. The host, forcing that ball to the right side in the year and we walked out of that with a three. Nothing lead, which at the time felt like an enormously then Cuba do we have to mention scoring from first on a single because it's been a while since we saw that Took off with a pitch red were the ball landed, and man, he just flew around Second. I never quit. I mean, the helmet flew off so sort of a signature Cuba do moment around the base. Now, you know he's going. He's going as fast as he can. And and Santy read the play Great and Again. Credit to Akil forgiven Santee a decision to make if he pulls up or coasts into third base in Santee still wants to wants to to to send him home. Can't do that, because the keel didn't give him the opportunity to make a decision. So by going hard all the way to third base Santa made the aggressive decision scope ended up getting thrown out on the back end, which I don't mind with how aggressive you can be in that play as well. So It was signature pressure offense that we can create with our speed. Casey Mears goes three perfect innings. Nine up, nine down comes out doesn't fight it because he knows what the deal is. He's on short and starts. What can your pitch? How do you want them to approach these three inning starts and how? What can they learn from them down the stretch? Yeah, I mean, I just wanted to go out and get as many outs as we ask him to, And if it's if it's six at six, if it's nine, it's nine. When it's it's 18 go and get him and get I mean, however many you can get any given game. I don't care whether it's September start and we're tapering you down or whether it's a tune start and the bullpens depleted. Go get your outs. And so it doesn't change. Your preparation doesn't change your approach. It doesn't you shouldn't ration your pitches like Go get the hitter That's out in front of you. And then I'll let you know when physically We've had enough from you, and then we'll hand the baton to the next guy and your reigning came in and did his part. Yesterday. We'll see who comes in behind Scoble today, but, um it's a disservice to yourself. If you start to try to overthink this situation and try to throw harder try to show differently or conservative pitches. This is the big leagues. Just go get your outs. Playing a Pittsburgh team that's obviously struggling 40 games below the 500 Mark, You said something the other day, I thought was interesting. Just it's kind of obvious. And yet you're asked about strength of schedule, he said. You know, I never look at the schedule for the soft spots. So when you play a weaker team, how do you talk to your team about it? To make sure they're not looking past anybody? Well, I'll remind them that they beat us two out of three at our place, so I don't I don't really have to go too much further than that. To let him know this game will humble you if you all of a sudden think that you're on a roll coming off of a winning series again. The playoff team. And you're going to stroll into Pittsburgh and they're just going to kind of lay down for three days. So, um, this is a team that can can score runs. They'll make you player 27 ounce. They've had their struggles in various parts of the game. But You know, I just remind we're not too far removed from having our own little struggles..

"Last guest this week. Here in manhattan and it should be doozy. The scully was taken by montreal. And the second round of the ninety four draught and went onto play over seven hundred regular season and playoff games for five different teams. He's the last goalie to win the hot trophy for. Mvp and also on the end of the same year. Thanks so much for making the trip. The cs josie theodore how we doing pretty good. Thanks for having me about time. How to chuck heads. You're a goalie and you have almost as many games as these two pigeons combined. Thanks for that. I know i was ready for that one. I want to use it later. But that's that's right out of the way and i can't even pronounce his name right on the golf course them. Jose from our caputo. Fourteen time just about ready to walk off the chorus but everyone remembers joe say came. And he did the sandbagged jovo they beat they got the best of us. We owed them money and in the end many many requests. Finally for you to come on so we appreciate your joining us. Dude is it's great. Thanks for having me. I'm very happy to be here with you. Guys very happy heavy. I was telling him he broke my heart twice. Seven hundred seventeen one thousand nine hundred canadians upset the bruins. Why one of those years they were the eighth seed right eight seed in two thousand and two and then two years after seventh seven see. Were down three one. And now mcclaren. Mcclaren was the two thousand and two. Okay kyle mclaren through one of the dirty. Since you've ever seen in your life on richard's adventure yanni put his elbow. And it's basically formed through the guy's face and like i just remember it. Being an enormous wanted to cut in the mill and it was just like a wrestling thing like the full like i think he got suspended for one game. That really got us going after that. I think we're too in the series and we came back and we want and six. So we're going to get into that. Oh to the mvp vezina year but we love kind of starting at the beginning and and how hockey became a huge part of your life and grownup french you. You always loved the montreal canadians. Though is your squad actually not really to be honest. I was big oilers. Fan 'cause grandfathered. One of my idols actually was my idol growing up because he was wearing the goalies i would catch. I know you guys don't know that. But i catch the sign. New business no clue. I don't know you're looking at the game notes to see as i'm to be fighting me fox shooting come on all right so anyways so few grant was item of mind and and i i grew up. Just being a big unmentioned fan and there were there. Were winning everything back. Then in the eighty so But i was going to the games. We had season tickets. So i went to the games all the way till when they won the cup in ninety three. So you remember going to those games. Ninety three. i was like sixteen. I think i was playing major junior. Dan and we finish our season than when it was a finals. I was there at every game with my brother. I was there when there was a big riot after they won like it was crazy. Car cops car upside down people throwing balls in windows and air. It was crazy. And i remember saying i got to win the cup and decided i'd go tonight. It's going to be the gone like you need more help. So growing up and growing up so many guys you know. You're playing d. forward. What was it that drove you to play goalie. Was it right away when you were tanner. Did you play other positions and started playing hockey lake. Any other canadian kids like three years. Old four whatever. And i was. Maybe i was playing as a forward. I which. I was decent like to learn how to skate. And then i was goalie just because i have four older brothers right and they need a goalie and i'm the so. They were throw me in and in this man. You're pretty good. You should try on the ice. And then i played and i just saw that it was kind of coming easy just stuck with the fact that they weren't taking it easy when they shot. You're use to that on my forehead everywhere story i'm gonna keep it on. The is boom so anyway. So that's how i started to be a goalie. Huge towns you at twelve years old that vladislav trae x. goalie school came and in montreal. What was i. Don't know he was doing a first year hawkish school up in canada which was a big thing. 'cause we all for goalie trick jagdish. Russians are coming. I knew he. Montreal was such a hot or at least quebec for goalies at the time at the time. Probably just know when when he was coming like. I gotta go there so my parents like no problem. He was doing two weeks usually was one week and then another group of kids but i would always do the full two weeks and then i go there and that's actually where i met Mardi border mardi just finished playing midget aaa got drafted by the team. He played junior. Think st. dyson so he was there and i was there but i was like twelve and he was sixteen. Maybe so we became a close friend there. And then that just got a really good relationship with tricia. Because i kept going every year until actually i was seventeen. I was still going and would that be one of those things where he s camp counselors doing it or see on the ice right in the middle of it. Teaching you learn from the communist back with tikhonov was the coach we would do things. The guy was fully gear on and off the ice and then after the first year is like okay. You're twelve but you gotta push harder..

"Mostly gray out there this morning, But don't worry Sunshine on the way highs for downtown L A in Lynn OC get into the mid to upper seventies later today, it's 6 21. It's morning edition from NPR News. I'm Steve Inskeep, and I'm no well King. Good morning. Five Democrats are competing to win the party's nomination for governor of Virginia. One of those candidates is Virginia's lieutenant governor, Justin Fairfax. In 19 2002. Women accused him of sexual assault. Those accusations, which Fairfax has repeatedly denied haven't forced him out of office or out of the race for governor. Here's been pave your from member station V P. M enrichment. Two years after two women came forward to accuse him of sexual assault. Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax maintains his innocence. It is an incredible miscarriage of justice. Falsely accuse someone of these types of crimes, and there'd be no accountability in 2019 Fairfax ordered and passed to polygraph tests. His legal team has pointed out what they say are inconsistencies in his accuser stories. Fairfax has also connected the allegations against him toe larger injustices against black men. Here he is on the debate stage last month, laying into the front runner in the race. Former Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe He treated me Like George Floyd treated me like in a tale. No due process immediately assumed my guilt, and some of his supporters agree. People really get intimidated when you can articulate Move forward and make things happen. Tommy Bennett is a Democratic party activist in Dando, small southern Virginia City. Then it says the lieutenant governor was targeted by his political enemies because he's a black man. On the rise. He saw the sound like Barack Obama. When he started, But the lieutenant governor hasn't raised much money, and he trails McAuliffe, the leading Democrat, by some 40 points. That hasn't dissuaded Bennett. He still can pull it off. Even if the accusations from February 2019 R hanging over his campaign. That's when the two black women came forward Vanessa Tyson accused Fairfax of sexually assaulting her in 4 2002. Days later, MEREDITH Watson accused Fairfax of raping her in 2000 while they were students at Duke University. The lieutenant governor says the encounters were consensual and repeatedly called for investigations by law enforcement. And he says the accusations are politically motivated. It becomes Complete injustice and one that mirror's history of racial injustice. Neither Tyson or Watson agreed to comment for the story. Fairfax says the refusal to publicly respond to his rebuttals undermines their credibility. Debra Katz, an attorney representing Taison, says her client stands by her claims, she says Fairfax is trying to intimidate his accusers. The fact that Justin Fairfax is still here, it seems to be exactly what politicians are doing These days, Cats has represented women involved in high profile sexual misconduct accusations, including ones involving Supreme Court justice Breck Cavanaugh, a New York governor, Andrew Cuomo. She says. They represent a troubling trend in the me to movement Act completely indignant, Never apologize seat, no ground and to the extent that there is an apology, as in the case of Cuomo, it Z. I'm sorry you felt bad, Pat says. The me to movement scored some important victories. And yet we're in a pandemic. Now, priorities have shifted. And there's less of an urgency. It seems still in Virginia. Many Democrats keep Justin Fairfax at arm's length. Ah, lot of people think if you ignore Justin And he'll just go away. Adele Mickler is Fairfax is former policy director and trust me like I definitely hoped that that was the case so I wouldn't have to be speaking to you right now. McLaren now serves as director Virginia's legislative Black Caucus. She says she's speaking out because she's worried. Fairfax uses his public office to bully his accusers. He can't wait to get to that governor's office because not only does he feel entitled to it, but he knows that he can will even greater power over those who spoke against him. Fairfax through an attorney alleged to NPR, the McClure is speaking out because she's supporting a different candidate. Buckler hasn't made any public endorsements, she says before she resigned. Us. Fairfax is policy director. She wanted to believe in a man she once considered a friend. I put everything. Into defending Justin And stood by loyally and just felt completely betrayed. McClure says she began to lose faith in Fairfax after Taison released a statement. The clerk found a compelling and alleges other staff worked to undermine Tyson, and they were desperately desperately throughout the week trying to catch her in a lie to discredit her. McClure alleges they considered a plan that called for using black women and anonymous social media accounts to question Tyson's credibility. I was just like, no, we cannot Attack. We can't attack her. McClure says she thought the plan was later dropped. Fairfax did not respond to NPR's questions about McClaren's account. His former chief of staff, Larry Roberts, said he did not recall those conversations and would not have back that kind of plan. Fairfax has used Twitter to call it the woman by name, labeling them false accusers. Debra Katz, the attorney who represents Taison says others have seemed to follow. Fairfax is lead. She's noticed a handful of anonymous accounts that attacked the lieutenant governor's critics. NPR has not confirmed who was behind the accounts. I believe that this is a weaponized use of Twitter and social media. And I believe it's part of coordinated campaigns. And it does have a chilling effect on women were going to win and win big and 2021 with your help. Thank you all so much. God bless you. Fairfax has had a busy spring. Crisscross the state in a low key low budget campaign focused on education and racial justice. Still, the accusations are on voters minds. Monica Hutchinson is a Democratic Party activist who lives outside of Richmond. She says, whether the accusations against Fairfax True or not, we cannot have anybody be the head of our state. With anything with any dark cloud like that hanging over their head. Instead, Hutchinson is backing state Senator Jennifer McClellan. McClellan and another candidate, Jennifer Carroll, Foy are running to become the first black woman elected governor in the U. S. Hutchinson says black women are ready for a change Every single election we show up. When it's time to pay to pay it back. To let black women lead. There's always a but but but in black women are tired of it. It's not clear what Fairfax will do if you lose is the primary. Either way, he says he plans on continuing a career in public service..

"Clear your schedule. Racing through the streets of Monaco. Yes, indeed. Ladies and gentlemen, f one Little F one shatter here on the show over excited to bring in Nate Saunders from ESPN on our Western Hotline. Eight. It is Howard and Jeremy. Good morning, sir. How are you? Hey, guys, I'm great. How are you doing? Well, I'm good, but I got to tell you now, my partner. He's a big Max Verstappen guys, So I don't know if I should bring this up is the first question, But it sounds like Max wasn't happy with how his cars look so far in the practice sessions. What's going on? Yeah, well, I mean, it's a good year to be a match for Stafford found. First of all, I think it looks great this season on. Yeah, it's a weird one. You know, Monaco is this great place where having a having a car that is even slightly? Out where you want. It is obviously a massive issue. But the wall is just so close to the whole time. But Max Max usually tend to go pretty well Round Monaco. His results There haven't actually been that good, but he's usually pretty quick. He has never just pulled it all together, so It's very quiet, Interesting weekend for him on given where we're at with the championship on him and Louis some really fascinating to see how that will play out this weekend Backstory. Both of us got into this through drive to survive. So now last season was the first season I watched races, Nate so we didn't I've seen Monaco from the Netflix show, but I've never seen a race at Monica. What is this track like? Also, I mean, this this is I mean, you hear it said over and over again. It's one of the jewels of the crown, you know, goes back years and years. I mean, former one was racing here in the fifties. Really, If you try to put this race on today, if you tried to suggest, Hey, let's have a racing around the place that Monte Carlo, you'd be laughed out of the room. You know it's there because of the history of it. First of all, Andrea Lee, I mean, The fascinating thing with Monica. Usually it's a It's a back to back with Indy 500, which is obviously next weekend. Now, usually it's the morning of the Monaco Grand Prix and then in the evening is the Indy 500. It's a really interesting kind of contrast, because Monaco while it's an incredible race, and one time mistake, you're in the war. Front position is key, so qualifying on Saturday is just as important as the race. You know, you don't need to be an expert in racing to see that it's very difficult to get past anyone at any point there, But it's such a quick tracking The drivers will love it. I mean, you know, every drive you talk to It's an honor to raise that, Monica, you know, they say how much they love it, And it's because of that kind of jeopardy you guys might've seen over the past couple of races has been a lot of chatter about track limits. And I've got to go slightly wide like with the staff at the bar and going three, for example, which cost him that wind. Truck. The track limits of Monaco is a big barrier. You know, if you if you if you go past track the track limits of Monica, your car's in the war, so I think drivers like that, and they respect the The barriers of it and Yeah. I mean, it's definitely worth it if qualifying and take it or leave it, But Monaco is one of the ones as well. It's on at 8 55 on Saturday morning s O exactly 24 hours before the race, and that is usually one of the spectacles of the season just because of how much these guys pushing it. S so yes, It's a tremendous rate. It's usually got quite the drama in there. You know, we need to do is get stuck behind a slower car. Have a pit stop that goes wrong for you. And like I said, if you get stuck behind a slow car It really could be a long race for you. So, yeah, A lot can happen, even though it might not look like the most entertaining spectacle from entertainment point of view. I don't think there are many events better on the calendar. We're doing the left one talk mate. Saunders, ESPN. Let me let me get you back to Red Bull for a second again to the drive to survive serious. One of the things we learned was that red pool is pretty cutthroat with the driver not named Verstappen. And I mean surgery Press. I looked and I thought, Wow, what a great match. This is fantastic. He's a hell of a driver. He's going to Ah, fantastic team, And maybe it's not going well right now. Is there pressure on him? Do you think is there pressure on him? From Red Bull. Can you talk a little bit about that? Because they don't really waste a lot of time moving guys out of rides, right? No, You're absolutely right. And it is very cutthroat. And I think that over the past 262 examples when you have gasoline album you have younger guys coming through who really didn't have Of a pedigree before 100 for the one. I think the thing that Paris has going for him is that he had such an established correct This point obviously won the Bahrain Grand Prix last year, so I think that there's a bit more patience with him. Given What he came in from and given the fact that if you actually look at every driver that switch teams this year is taken. Even guys like Fernando Longer, you know, taking who's come back into this one. It's taking these guys a bit longer. Just Adapt. Ricardo McClaren is a similar example. So I think from spoken to Christian horn in a few people at Red Bull. The kind of the language they're using to describe parent is very different to what we were hearing about album this time last year. It was clear frustration last year. I think they're seeing Good things with parents. They just take him to put it together on one of what a perfect weekend to do that Monica because they often say, you know, the car is a huge thing in from the one that Monaco is one of those tracks were a driver can make a huge difference. Just Just by being a bit more committed to a corner than another guy's. So you know, Paris was quickest on the first practice session. Doesn't always mean a huge amount, but I think it just shows that he's starting to get more comfortable with that car on. Yeah, I think I'm a huge current stand. So I'm expecting that to come together to him sooner rather than later. Yeah, that there was a great move for them. I really did. I think he's a heck of a driver. Um, for sure, Nate. I wanted to ask you about Ferrari. I think it's one of the stories of the season so far. They were so bad last year that they've bounced back this year and lo and behold, it turns out so far through the practices. They are the story right there. Their cars have been really fast the last couple days. Yeah. I mean, I think if you guys know the gift from Commander you know, he's saying What year is this by saw so many people tweeting that when yes, for everyone to in the second practice session because that was the case in 2017. And what's stunning about Ferrari in Monaco is their only actually won Monaco twice in this century, so that she might have won in 2001 the vessel one in 2017, But other than that Ferrari haven't won, which, given their history and given the fact that they had some very good cars in that time. It's pretty stunning, but you're right about last year. You know, that was the noticed point that's already been up and I think we've seen definite progress, You know? I mean, Charlotte Clarke is just such a good driver. You know, if you put him in that mix with Louis and Max at the front, I think he'd be making a three way fight if you have the machinery to do so. I think what we're seeing as well. Is that the signing of signs I'm actually it was pretty sure you know he's a He's a quick guy, I think, because again, you mentioned Red Bull earlier. He's one of the guys that was dropped from that.

"F good to have you with us on the Frank Beckmann show. Just listen to Paul. They're about go Great Lakes and the Frankenmuth area And once again if you missed it earlier, I was absolutely honored to learn that the board of directors for the Michigan Heroes Museum. Has voted Assn. Amy, a voting board member. Now I was an honorary member. If you will on the board of Advisors, and now they have. They voted me into a full time position on the board and blown away by that and completely honored and look forward to serving them. And making that museum even more attractive to all of you. So thank you very much. Ronnie Cyrus and company for that, and we'll talk more about it as time goes on, Okay? At the golf tournament coming up May 24th two. Don't forget we'll get you more equal on that. All right. Let's get back to the phones here at 808. 590957 will start out this segment in Dearborn. Roberta, You're on the air. Good morning. Good morning and happy retirement. I'm sure Enjoy it. My question is has anyone from the Flint City Council? Yeah, um, charged with anything concerning the Flint water crisis, Not a soul. Even though they voted. I believe again. Good to say it. I think that I'm correct. The vote was 6 to 1 in favor. Switching over to Flint water back then, and it was the council that did it. You're absolutely right. And nothing has been done to them. But they go to the governor right? They go to former Governor Rick Snyder. And it's not just about Flint water that they're doing this. They're trying to tie the Flint water situation. Who the outbreak of Legionnaire's disease at McClaren Medical Center. They are not related at all, and that will be proven in court. I'm sure but this is just absolutely overcharging. It's it's incredible. And I also make a comment on your public service announcement. The fact that we have more people incarcerated than any other country in the world. When I was in Buenos Aires a year ago, they told us Oh, watch your wallets on def a car happens to be stolen. Well, you just go and get another one because insurance space for it so forth. Perhaps the reason our incarceration rate is high is because we incarcerate criminals and other countries don't Maybe, but what's your alternative to leave them among the public? Well, that's apparently what they do. My point is, they're blaming us for the fact that we have the higher highest incarceration rate in the world. Well, sure, who's blaming us? Titan who is blaming us? And who is that? The public services notes when under W. J. R And the point is, according to that, that it Z travesty against the blacks that we incarcerate more people in the blacks happened to be incarcerated more. It's a public service announcement. If you listen to it, you'll know what I mean. I know which one you're talking about now. And I have similar feelings to yours. You know, I think a lot of the crime that we see in our communities occurs in those neighborhoods. The criminals victimized those who are most vulnerable and they happen to be those who are poorest among us because They just don't have defense and I see that as the major issue here, so don't let more criminals out of jail. Let's jail more criminals. It's my own feeling anyways. Thanks for bird. I appreciate the call. Let's go to Lake Korean right now. Tony, you're on the Frank Beckmann show. Good morning. Morning, Frank. Hey, will quit. God, I just want to tell you I met you briefly at the 90 11 Memorial for the fallen soldiers. And I just want to say what a consummate professional and a gentleman you were, and they really great Yes, Itwas and, uh, I just want one more quick thing If I made the collar that said that, uh Snyder was they actually should have it be before his name put the words right out of my mouth that both have said that For a long time. I mean, he, uh, tax, my pension, and the reason that he gave for taxing the pensions was that we were only one of five states that wasn't doing it so he felt compelled to do it for that reason. That's not why I called one of the cost. If you everybody is, uh Told you about the fifth grade school teacher from medical school district that Had a Facebook post that I'm gonna quote, she stated, Uh, anyone who still supports Trump. I want them completely out of my life. All of them. BLM needs Step in and kill them all. So that was a teacher teacher wrote that on social media Fifth grade teacher on Facebook, and I called you Tickle school district prior to call you and they said that it is Under invest investigation by the police, but Who knows? Work's gonna go. But anyway, I just wanted to anybody had called to tell you about this. Or if you know anything about it. No, Tony, that is the first I've heard about it. And I'm absolutely a dashed at that news. I've got to tell you. I can't even imagine the teacher doing that. I am a swell we're you know what? You would think that account would immediately be scrubbed from social media, wouldn't it that that inciting violence It may have By now someone is screenshot and a group of people at a chat with sent it to me. Well, the scent posted it not thought And, uh, it's not the first one I've seen up. I'm seeing another pulse by a Lake Korean kindergarten teacher. Uhm and on her pulse. She has her, uh, picture of black lives matter, But she wasn't is quite a threatening but it was like the same thing. Trump supporters. If you're trump supporter out online thing to do with you. We're not friends, that kind of thing. And then it said she had a pulse down there about celebrating Thanksgiving in her class and don't bring feathers and You know things of that nature that without me, is this someone you work with? Uh, no. I do not work with that person. No, but I'll be honest with you. I worked in the district and I have approached the district about that teacher as well. And what was the response? I'm curious. They wanted me to send a copy of the Facebook post to them, and I have not heard anything back. That was Day before yesterday. I believe Well, if everybody on the writers being kicked off of Facebook and Twitter because of their supposedly incendiary tweets, you would think that would be considered one as well. So we await further word. Tony. Keep us up to date. Okay, buddy. Sure. Well, Frank, take care. Alright, man, take care of yourself as well. Have a great weekend. "At the Detroit News, who has got a very, very interesting question. In her latest column for the news. She wonders whether Whitmer officials have buried Flint evidence. And why is this come up? Well, because we now have word. That the Wittmer administration had this this evidence for more than a year more than a year. Governor Whitman State health director Robert Gordon knew for more than a year. That the Legionnaires outbreak in Flint that we had a few years back. It was all at McLaren Medical Center had nothing to do with let water. In fact, none of the people who got it got Legionnaires were on flint water at the time. So there you go. And English just found all that out. She wrote about it this morning. And it is absolutely eye opening. I'm telling you, you've got to read this column by Ingrid Joxer is on the other end of our line. I was just aghast, Ingrid, even though we had to receive the information from John Trust got a couple of days ago on the show. Thank you for writing about it. And for joining us this morning, How are you? Hi, Frank. I'm doing well and congrats on the honor. Very deserved. Well, thank you so very much. I can't thank you enough. And you know, part of this incredible career has been my time writing for the Detroit News. While to that was that was a part of it. And I just I can't thank all of you enough. You will. You will be very missed voice in our community, Frank. I appreciate that so much. Well, then that's why I won't go away completely. Yeah. Can't somebody like me up? You know, but at any rate that let's talk about this, because, you know, we just saw Rick Snyder charged with this, uh, this crime of apparently allowing people to die, and Nick Lyons, a former health director, Same thing and It just seems to be a political inquisition that's going on. Well, sure, And that's why I thought it was important, too. Bring up this other side of this story, But, um, you know, as you said former Governor Rick Snyder charged yesterday with willful neglect of duty, but Nick Lyon, the former state health director was he was charged with nine counts of involuntary manslaughter, very serious charges. And Nick Lyons. Charges were specific, specifically related to the Legionaries cases. And Dana Nestles prosecuting team has Specifically tried to tie the Flint water switch to the uptick in those cases, but a ZAY point out my column. This 47 page report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released at the end of 2019 points clearly to, um enough to ongoing cases of Legionnaires. Coming from McClaren Clint Hospital. They've been going on since 2008 and as of that report in December, 2019 were still ongoing to CDC had a lot of concern. But yet that report has not had not been made public until Jim Hagemann who preceded neckline, he he had gotten ahold of the report and just decided that this is important information. The public needs to know about this, so thank goodness he did. Do you believe that this will lead to anything? We'll go anywhere, Will it will it mean that those who were really in charge of what was going on in in Flint being those people who run the hospital McClaren hospital where the legionnaires cases originated and where they sickened about 90 people and killed 12. Do you think they're ever gonna be held responsible? Well, that's a good question. I would like to think that if Dana Nessel really cares about protecting the citizens of Michigan that she will equally direct her attention to what's going on the last couple years under the Whitman administration, as she has two what happened under the Snyder administration? Well, see, Um, but I have a question. She also take action against Governor Wittmer for spreading covert 19 in the assisted living facilities among the elderly in our state is the governor bear responsibility for that she did charged with killing those people. That's an excellent question. And you know, once you set the standard Or criminalizing these kinds of policy decisions. Um, I mean that standard could easily be applied and thousands of people have died under the nursing home policy, as opposed to 12 with the Legionnaire's disease, which As the CDC. Even Marc Edwards, the Virginia Tech researcher who helped Exposed the lead in the water. He testified in defense of Nick Lyon two years ago when he was mine was charged just similar charges under bill shooting. Um, he said that these cases were not Coming from water in homes. It didn't happen after the switch. So I mean, this information has been out there in a long time. And if nothing else, you can be sure. The CDC report on the preceding research will be used in in defending a client and others of these charges. Just so people know and understand. Legionnaire's disease is not spread by by water from a river like that. That's not where it where it sort of reproduces it's.

"Way there is this abuse of power going on in Lansing right now, Uh, Nick Lyon, who was the former health director under Rick Snyder? You know Rick Snyder is being charged with some sort of criminal deed in the Flint water. Crisis, even though he had nothing to do with the Flint changeover from Detroit water to city water to the Flint city water that was run from the Flint River. But the right uh Rick Snyder is being charged and you heard about that. But how about this now? Michigan health director at the time. Isa also being charged. Nick Lyon pled not guilty during your parents and Genesee County. Circuit court. That was just before Governor Rick Snyder pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of willful neglect of duty, the charges that have been brought against Nick Lyon. Are even more severe. He has been accused. Are you ready for this of involuntary manslaughter in the deaths of nine people who got Legionnaire's disease? They got it at McClaren Health Center. We went through this story yesterday. Theater knee General can't even follow What's in the news? She could get her witnesses and get the true story of what went on up there. It had nothing to do with Flint water. It was the whole virus. Was developed within the McClaren Medical Center, where the charges against Mona Hanna Attisha. If you're going to be consistent here, Madam attorney general you've got to go after more people than Nick Lyons, who had absolutely nothing to do with Legionnaire's disease at McClaren Hospital. It is a lie a complete lie by our attorney general who is so vindictive, so partisan. She cannot even see straight. I'm telling you this is this is just stunning stuff. Manslaughter, involuntary manslaughter because of Legionnaire's disease, which had nothing to do with Flint water. How do you You take the people of Michigan for fools that I'm sure you're gonna find some some judge on your side. Who's been appointed by by Jennifer Granholm say, and they're going to agree with you, Madam Attorney General. That doesn't make it correct. Okay? And we as Michiganders can see what is right. You explain to me Madam Attorney General. Why you got extra money for your office to distribute to your campaign contributors? Law firms, Okay, yes. Private law firms, and they're all trial lawyers. Imagine that who donated to your campaign, and now they have the possibility of being on your payroll. Thanks to the governor's shifting more money over your office. People like the Bernsteins, we've gotten $3 billion in settlements. You know what That means? Madam Attorney General. Your begin. Do you don't want people to get wealthy they've made over a billion dollars is what that means. As a family. That's what it means. So the inconsistency up there for our attorney general. Now with their campaign contributors, they're all good. They're fine. We'll help them out. But if they're on the other side of the aisle what we're going to find a way to throw him in jail and we're gonna charge The former health director in Michigan with manslaughter, manslaughter for Legionnaire's disease. Are you kidding me? What should he have done? The one thing that the clients could have done to stop Legionnaire's disease from spreading at McLaren Medical Center. It wasn't a wide outbreak in the city. Anybody who thinks that is being fooled by these people And I just want to make sure that we get that on the record because it is. It's just disgraceful What this attorney general has done with her abuse of power. And she this is this is political planet simply political They think that they can get Rick Snyder like Donald Trump. They're gonna make him look like Donald Trump or he killed people. He's killed people who did it intentionally. I'm waiting for that now. Uh oh, yes, because Flint is ah Majority African American City, So he went after blacks he wanted to kill blacks. Why didn't he pick Detroiters? You know their arm or in Detroit. If that was the case, it's ludicrous. It's absurd to even think that, but our attorney general just never ever stops. The political battles and she is she is absolutely turning Michigan's legal system upside down with charges like this. It is an abuse of power. Madam attorney general That's what it is. You might as well grow the mustache and give the one handed salute. Hand out right in front of you toward that flag. Yeah. And where your brown coat while you're at it, And then right. There you go. Let's get to your phone calls before. I'm sorry. 808 590957 is our phone number. And I've taken up enough of the time that we set aside for your calls right here. But I'm sorry. It just It upsets me period that that we are weaponizing the attorney general's office like this. It's just stunning. All right, let's go to the phones out to Oxford right now, Debbie, you're gonna lead this segment off Hello with Demi. Thank you for putting me on since I waited an hour and a half to talk to you, and then I'm sorry about that. W earlier. I know that's no fun. But now you open your big mouth and I'm joking, Um, that you have to remember. I have three things to tell you and I'll try to make it short and sweet. Um, this is to bring down any Republican. Any conservative. This is not about charges. This has nothing. They brought John Trump. Now they're going after the other people that you know, didn't vote. For the impeachment. It's just so the Republican Party will never come back again. And they want full Coke full control. And this is scary. This is in it is an abuse of power. Second of all, um, I hope happy retirement have been returned 20 years and I love it. Um, My only fear is that your station will put a Democrat on because as a conservative that believes in the Constitution and fairness I cannot listen to a Democrat right now when they stole the election, But let me just say this As far as my successor goes, I think they're going to choose. I don't think they're gonna look at political party at all. I think they're going to choose the person that they think has the best opportunity to Ah Continue to educate our audience to learn along with them and the carry on whatever success we have had into the future, and I think anyone have success if you if you bring in somebody that's fair and balanced like you because I love your show. I've been listening to W. J. R for I mean, since before 9 11, So it's been a long time. Okay? My third thing. I believe it was your station, but I'm not sure I see the Sean Hannity or Rush Limbaugh. Ah girl called. She said she throw saw three busloads of people 150 people getting off the bus at the death the capital. They were led in by the police into the capital and the doors. Relax again because you can't tell me and maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm a conspiracy person. But I don't think so. You can't tell me that people just walked into the capital. Those doors will act. Okay, then the 150. People were led in the girl said Then they opened up the doors because I saw on Fox. The people that were, you know, pro testing. Walking and slowly. They didn't care anything. They had nothing. Other hands flags that we also we also, though, saw the smashing of windows and I understand that. Yes, I agree. I.

"Welcome back into the program. Everybody good Have you with us? It's a spot where we always keep you the best informed audience and all of radio, your merchant of truth on the air, and we'll get back to your phone calls in just a little bit. 808 590957. I wanted to add one thing about the Flint story. We had Karen Weaver out a moment ago that I just want Tonto point out, and that is When we're talking about the Legionella outbreak. This has now been traced by CDC, not the Flint water. It's been traced directly to McClaren Hospital, So McClaren Hospital had the problem. They're the ones who did not deal with it. And that's why the Legionnaires broke out. And yet we're hearing that Governor Rick Snyder might face criminal charges in connection with this in, and I just hope that there's a little deeper thinking that goes beyond Republican and Democrat in the office of our esteemed attorney general. Uh Or should I say steamed because she's always angry about something, but at any rate that Zatz where we are, and we shall see how it all plays out, But no, it was. It was McClaren Medical Center that had the problem. CDC traced the the Legionella right to the hospital, not the Flint water. It didn't come from Flint water. On, so I just wanted to make that clear. I don't think I did that earlier. And so I wanted to correct it right now. Okay? Okay. Let's welcome in our next guest because we're getting some. If this is true, what he hears is true. This is really good news here in the state of Michigan, where The restaurant industry has just been absolutely decimated by all of the shutdowns ordered by our governor, Gretchen Whitmer. Scott Alice is executive director of the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association. And Scott says he's now being told that we're going to see the restaurants around here in Michigan, Reopen on February 1st. This is great news of its true Scott. Good Morning. Nice to be with us. Good morning, Reagan. Thanks for having me. So the governor's gonna get I gotta go ahead. I'm sorry. Well, I mean, I don't want to make sure it's good news that maybe there's light at the end of the tunnel, but the response we're getting. It's not good news. We were all expected and ready to open on the 60. Yes, of January and not wait two more weeks. Correct, but what you're saying and I do appreciate is, you know way gotta look at we got to get open and that and that's our ultimate thing. And if it's February 1st, we're gonna hold tight to that date. We're gonna push to make sure that that happens So I mean, I do appreciate this got mixed feelings or calls throughout the night and today and I and I understand why this this industry is Like I said before. It's beyond chip tipping point we have kept you know we're losing thousands. We've lost thousands. And every day we stay closed, more will never reopen. You know that was my other question is, do you gotta feel it all from people who have hope that they'll be able to reopen, or are they just out of business out of money and have no hope of ever? Serving people again. Well, as of right now is our last survey a couple weeks ago, 5% had closed permanently, not 5%. You're talking 8500 on premise laces in the state of Michigan. Obviously, we did not survey all of them. But The average is that we got from our survey 5% of permanently closed and will never reopen. Many are on the verge. Many have said. You know another month of this and we're done Money, said another couple weeks. And so, you know. In the meantime, the legislature the governor have released some money and grant will be announced on the step Daddy or announced in past but the process will be announced on the 15th. Of this this month about Prancer available, But at the end of the day, this industry wants to be open. They're capable of being open and they're capable of doing it safely. We argue with the administration on what you know that the bars the restaurants that cause we disagree with that. Wholeheartedly in 100%, But we are discussing with them and we're trying to make sure we do open and I say when are on the first cause we will open on February 1st. We're gonna push for that, like no other and today's press conference from what I'm hearing. Will give details on that February 1st opening Well, that's that's some good news, at least but not for those people who have been closed permanently. Obviously, there's there's no road back for them is there You're right, Frank. And this is where this is hard with all this is, you know, I have to stay focused on getting us open. Our membership is in this industry is key. So we don't want to leave behind whose clothes that were there? No. We're trying to work with them ones that are struggling and may not make it. We're trying to help And then at the end, we have to get us open. And it's just a mixed bag. Our people are across the board are frustrated. They're angry. They're tired, and they want to get their employees back to work. And that's the other big thing that they concerned about their employees. So and the other problem is a lot of our concern is when does this end? So we're you know, we want we want encourage that people the vaccination as assumes we can get frontline servers up there on the vaccination vaccination list so they can get back into the industry because we need to get open. So there's a lot going on that we're continually trying to do for this industry. Yeah, I can see where that would be a priority because they're going to be the workers in these these restaurants, bars, etcetera. They're going to be in contact with people face to face. And you know, there's the risk that if they do have the virus that it could be spread that way, I suppose and And that's one of the concerns that everybody has right now. You're exactly And with that being said, we we argue with the administration disagreement, but at the same time we have to tell them look. We understand it. You have your beliefs, and the DHS has their beliefs on it. And we disagree with you wholeheartedly. But we need to separate that right now and say we can't survive like this. And I think even The other governors and other states. They were showing that we can open safely and we got to do it and that's what we're focusing on now let us open and what what do you want us to do within reason to make that happen? So you want the individual retailers to have that decision on their shoulders that if they want to open they should be able to open and you know if there if there are risks involved in that, you know they will They'll be accountable thing. Well, that and we have to balance the economy collapsed with safety. We are not against. Obviously, public health is number one issue correct. And we don't argue that our staff our workers number one priority, but at the same time they're to the point. Sam, look, we're wearing masks were doing what you asked. And there's gotta be a balance that we allow this economy open. We cannot take the second largest economy in the state of Michigan. Okay, Uh, again, we're beyond that tipping point. Now we need to start properties back up and we need to get open to do that. Scott. Have you had direct conversations with the governor or other officials in Lansing, Robert Gordon, for instance. Unfortunately, I don't get to Robert Gordon. I've asked several times and I don't I don't get response for men Don't get to him. However, I do discuss with staff from the administration, and we do have.

"Whitehead. Safety, But they do pick up five. They do pick up five and they get down here. The seven yard line Kevin once again excellent pass protection by the offensive line of Washington. Hi, Nikki. And a lot of time in the pocket. He surveyed the fields is right. Who's left came back over the middle of McClaren moved the change. So it was clear it was Simms. It was Simms. He was reaching for more yardage is he went airborne. Here now is a second down and four from the seven Tampa Bay. I think he's under center got the snap some pics of pass hands off, instead hits and grab behind the line of scrimmage and brought down Nice tackle there by the rookie Antoine Winfield, a starter all season long on the top rated rookies, safeties and pro football, and now it is third down and four 3rd and 4th lose about a half yard Ron George. Beyond the employer, you talk about big plays early in the game. I'll go down third quarter. This is a huge plate right here to Miss Tampa Defense Bowler back and keep washing out the end zone. Or is there a plane Scott Turner's game plan, It's gonna knock it in McKissick in the backfield, Hannity with a third and five In the gun. There's the snap Four man rush. He has to backpedal. He's hit. He conscious long He avoids the rush. He rise to the temple in here something if I dive into the pile on your side. There's a touchdown they night pickets. Water run by the Washington quarterback. Touchdown. Washington What a fantastic play once again by Tyler Taylor. Hi, Nikki Using his legs. We thought he was trapped in the pocket. Fucking your bodies all around him. He escaped his right. Art to his left, sees the goal.

"Here in the nation's capital. Kickoff is going to come from the Buccaneers from are left to our right. Tampa Bay second place NFC South 11 and five This is the first time by the way Brady has played on the road in the first round of the playoffs, which is surprising all those years. 20 all those years. First time ever in the ever on the road, Kevin, You always find a nugget. I knew always working with you and the preparation had to be intensive. Always. Flaw. It was it was your your intense everyone. I am thrilled to be with you here tonight In Landover. Why the fun? Sixth and final Game third and final game today and three more tomorrow. Here's the kickoff taken by Johnson at the goal line for Washington up the middle 10 20 got a sliver. He goes through it at the 25 years on the 30 and the hash mark and brought down right there. So Washington is gonna get it Nice and return there by the defensive back Danny Johnson out of Southern a third year player, And here comes Taylor Hi, Nikki, with the first in 10. I've been impressed with Taylor hiding. You know, Simms had a chance it happy Camp Sims. You're in the game on a post to make a big play it doing off his hands knows the type of place you gotta help young player with helping an experience player with when you got up to make a play. Make a play on the views in the gun. Multiple tied ends from the 31st in 10. Fake handoff. Drop It looks left. Looks right, backpedals. Further it comes the pressure. Goes into the near sidelining, complete on the near side line of the 35 Yard line of Washington with coverage on the play by the terrific Levante. David second TEM. Kevin. You talked about keys. The second half. What I mentioned was exactly what Washington did. He went to two men receiver route, see an eight man protection as we saw. Hi. Nikki had a lot of time, but no one was able to get open because obviously, with only two receivers going out, the defense had the advantage. If you're on the sideline tonight, coaching, have a wool cap on Everyone wearing masks on that sideline. Second down 10 from the 30 Washington quarterback Taylor Hannity. There's a line drive inside. The numbers come from McLaren 35 bills on the numbers for 40 runs up to about 44 yard line before he tackled in the secondary. By Jim L. Bean. It is a cancer on the 14 and a first down for Washington pitch and catch on. If he drops back at a shortcut past McClaren, What you wanna do is get the ball his hands quickly. He's an explosive player. He's the player that they must get the ball in his hands in space because he could take it to the house makes the stationary catch, spun around and dug his way to the 42, where its first intent shotgun snap. The Washington quarterback is back flag is thrown short crossing pattern, but in stride by McClaren it about the 43 caught a belt high, built it on the plate. In the body yard is all like we said the flag was thrown And the clock is of less than a minute old here in the third quarter. Outside defense number, 90 lined up in the neutral zone, five yard penalty first.

"Is the exact guilt show went 28 to 14. Ohio State up on Clemson to 14 left here in the second quarter. Justin Fields has the ball. He's facing a second and six and fields took a shot in this game, and they didn't and he's still in the game. Earlier, James Kowski got ejected for targeting. He's the quarterback of the defense for Clemson. I didn't like the targeting call personally. Now Fields has the ball in his own 40. And he's gonna step up and he's gonna get tackled. So he just got sacked and know he's in a lot of pain. He's on his back. He slow to get up. It would be a shame. If he's not able to continue during this game, but He has been phenomenal with three touchdowns. Oh, yeah, he got hit hard there. Not that it was a bad head. Let me reframe that. He was sliding down. And it was in the area where he got injured earlier, and there was a little contact there and you saw how he's grimacing in pain. He's not gonna want to come out of this game. Let me real quickly Get to Mike and D. C Next up on CBS Sports Radio. Go ahead, Mike. What's going on, man? Happy New Year Happy New Year Teacher What you got for me, brother. Well, I feel like we are in the middle of one of the best sports stories ever if Alex Neck and win Sunday and carried it Washington football team into the playoffs. I don't think any of the team that we were are lined up to play will be lost the match up with his defense, or do I think they match up? Well, what you think I think your defense is phenomenal, but your offense doesn't scare me. I get it. Rivera Story's unbelievable What he's overcome through this year. I'm rooting for him Alex Smith to definitely rooted for him offensively. I don't know if McClaren's playing around on Gibson's plan, and they're good players, but even if they do play that offense, even with blood by Alex Smith It doesn't scare me if they get into the postseason. Could they win a game? Sure. Could they do? What Carolina did. Could they do with the Seahawks did in the crazy year would've below 500 team gets in and wins that division? Yeah, they could. I expected to win multiple games, so I think any team is really shaking in their boots, getting ready to go up against Washington's football team. No, I don't Don't And they just lost to the Panthers. No. They had Taylor, Hi, Nikki and Haskins and all that. The front seven. We knew it was phenomenal going in, even with a losing battle, United States Year and Chase Young's of beast I can expect That Washington. I actually I'm going to fear I don't even have to go to get in. And if I look at if I give you my predictions real quickly, But.
