"Britain's Queen Elizabeths husband. Prince Philip WBZ TV's Michael across, stopped by one Plymouths shop with a special connection to the British Royals at British imports of Plymouth. The passing of Prince Philip. The Duke of Edinburgh was the topic of discussion among customers. Thank you so much nicer. Thanks, Barney and the shops, owner Unity, McClane and then obviously all the Kings and Queens of England as I was going by the shop today, but I just have to stop in and said so sorry. He did live a very long and full life. But ah lot of excitement. McClane grew up in England and says her dad knew the prince. My dad used to play cricket on his cricket team. They were great friends and wonderful night together. McClane respected the princes, dedication. The country in appreciates how he was the Queen's sounding board for more than 70 years. He was about the only person who could turn around to say and say to her when she came up with an idea where you're talking about that's bloody stupid. Royal watchers say the queen will now most likely turn to her Children to consult as she continues. To leave the country. His funeral is scheduled

Massage therapists sue Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson
"Is disgruntled in Houston. But that's just the football aspect of night ago. He was also swinging back at the filing of a lawsuit against him alleging inappropriate conduct during massages. That lawsuit filed Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, a second lawsuit by a second planet Though both lawsuits are filed by the same attorney. The second suit, claiming Watson's behavior is quote part of a disturbing pattern of preying on vulnerable women. John McClane from the Houston Chronicle. And what we have your two of the most renowned the parties in the country. Rusty Harden, a turning to the superstars in sports. And Tony Busby, who is a wealthy developer Rooms, a law firm has been on the cover of New York Times Magazine. He's tell May all Head here. He's the one that's filed two lawsuits on the half of plaintiffs, one here and one in Atlanta, charging inappropriate sexual behavior and watchin retained Rusty Harden. His list of clients is extremely long, and he's an outstanding attorney. And so we haven't seen a response from Watts and since the lawsuit Became public and the Texans and the NFL had the response. You would expect they're aware of it. They're gathering information. And so I have no idea. What direction it's going to go. How would affect other teams that they would lowball? The Texans is something's that back away. But you know this pretty. They're gonna want these issues resolved. It was NFL investigate. And that could take a long time. Antonio Brown's has still not been resolved since last off season. So there's so much out there, Freddy about which direction it could go. And right now, nobody has any idea when I say the word timing regarding all of this. What do you say? Bad, bad timing for everybody all around bad for the Texans when they want to maximize what they can get from Watson. I've been saying they should pick the Jets and the Dolphins 2nd 3rd in the first round against each other. I have seized rivals and get the maximum deal. You know their stories about Carolina willing toe. Sacrifice the farm to get into the problem with the Panthers. There's eight overall pick, and there's no guarantee of getting a franchise quarterback that general measure necessary a likes. And so there's other reports. He wants to go to Denver. I don't know why. And then San Francisco. I can't understand wanting to play for Palestinian, but they got Jimmy Garoppolo. For while there was talk of Washington, But Washington has solved this problem, at least with free agents. So This to me is not good for watching and it's not good for the Texans.

CBS. We're gonna talk more about this with John McClane of the Houston Chronicle in the next segment, But let's keep squeezing some more of you in here. Let's go back to Cleveland, Cleveland in on this thing, man, Let's go to Sam. Sam is in Cleveland. Sam Europe on CBS Sports Radio. What's going on, Sam? I'm not think things all. How are you? I'm great. How are you? I'm well, Thank you. Access. You know, the Houston Texans They just need to think from trade wants, and they have to recoup all those pics from the previous regime that we wasted on essentially nothing. And a little revisionist history and the Rams are willing to spend all those picks to get Stepford. I wouldn't bother getting Watson instead, Susan's interdicted and spend all that capital and then not get somebody in return that I'll give you 10. Years of all of football. You know how loving football productions and Word. JJ ends up man. You know, I think the Rams would be a great place and just because the weather is going to be a lot better considering they're in a dome. There's some sort of don't like area. The weather is warm around. That's end of town and the older you get I feel like you should play in the place where you can minimize injuries on the field beyond the weather, and that's really all I gotta say. Alright. Appreciate the phone call. I've said all along. I think the Rams are a dark horse for JJ Watt. I think Matthew Stafford going there puts them in the Super Bowl conversation makes them better than the Steelers. Let me put it that way. It makes him better than the Steelers and Timmy talk about somebody to draw attention away from you. Erin. Donald. My God, right, Jay? What His brother would obviously serve that purpose in Pittsburgh. You would have six of the last What we ate. We just had 2026 of the last nine Defensive player of the Year Awards will be playing a game defensive line with the Rams. There's a little bit of Hollywood to JJ Watt to he's done some Handsome my late night talk show circuit and done some movies and things like that SNL my nose in New York thing, But you know that Hollywood vibe. So I think l a would suit him with suit him pretty well, You know, as far as your take. Hey, look, if they were going toe trade that much for Stafford, they should have just traded for Watson. The problem with that is two things one. It's gonna take a hell of a lot more to get Watson then what they gave up to get Stafford. They gave up a third this year and then a first next year and the first the following year. The Texans are gonna need to get stuff now, more than a third. They got a third. They don't have a first or second. The Rams would not have been a good trade partner for Shawn Watson in the Texans. Sean will probably go there be my guess. I mean to Shawn's Got a little L A and a swell But I don't think you can look at the Stafford deal and think that that's going to be anywhere near the ballpark. That's going to get a deal done for two Shawn Watson. The Texans can certainly look at it that way The Texans are looking at it is we're not trading the guy. In fact, this is a good segue way into our next segment. If you're on hold, stay there. I want to get through some of these JJ Watt calls. I'm enjoying this. 855 to 1 to four. CBS. If you want to get in John McClane's got a better view on this than anybody myself included. He's been covering the Texans since day one. Hey, is he's I'm sure got some takes on where JJ Watt could end up And where the Texans with Shawn Watson, John McClane, the great John McClane from the Houston Chronicle, the Hall of Famer. He will join me next to talk about that if you want to get in and get on, hold and.

We encourage you to call in If you had any thoughts and wanted to weigh in on wonder Woman in 1984, the number is 6516411071. So grant do we still have our caller on line? Yes, Lin is with us Highland. Thanks for calling and Linda to see the whole movie in one Go. Absolutely not. Three issues with it right away. We go endgame part. Okay, Number one, But you're taking me the most is the stupid, sexy duck face that women trying make where you relax your cheeks and you have a pouty lips. He was doing that when she was running slow motion in between the cars and I'm like, Oh, my God. Come on. Great. Right. Okay, then my other one. How long did we need to watch her flying in the air? Yeah. So this is an action movie. Get it flying out. You need to get from point A to B. We get it. She doesn't really fly. She just thought, you know she knows how to manipulate. She basically air service kind of thing, but that's cool. Like about five minutes. That was absolutely painful. Exactly. Okay, I'm in. The last thing is that we waited two hours for 20 minutes fight that looks like it could be good. Yeah, Yeah, I'm disappointed as well in Thank you for calling. Yes, waiting. Congratulations. And she's good at waiting. She saw this Almost. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Thank you. Have a good new year. You know, I agree with everything that Lin said, you know, and, you know, I think one of the first things we heard is that somebody told us it was about an hour too long. And so I agree. You know, And so I would have liked a film if we took out back to my whole take Steve Trevor conversation out. I'm really one of the other tropes that I get really disappointed in is that First love. I love it first sight love that transcends time and space Trump and that's what this is. This is the light him she met him. They had been together about two weeks. Two weeks. Listen, we all get crazy with our first relationship. Yes. S O s So the first relationship and don't get me wrong. I think back fondly on the first dude I ever hooked up with. But, man, am I creating a shrine and like, just finding first go saving the world Seven. That's not a very feminist attitude. Exactly. And grant you had some really good points too about appearance. Yes. Oh, this was this was what struck me is That Barber's character, right? She was, and this is where I thought, Well, this is where a woman needs to help out another woman. Was she met Diana, right, Correct, Diana, right? And Diana and she was obsessed with trying to look like her and be like her. And and then I just don't understand. And I was I asked on this. Did you guys feel offended at all that it's a show? It's a movie about empowering women, right? We need to have these more movies about empowering women, right? And yet they fell into the same trap that all these Hollywood movies fall into is that you have to be beautiful. You have to be, you know, perfect looking looks manpower and yeah, and they played into that very narrative with her getting beautiful and all of a sudden, Jake recognizes who she is, and she he didn't recognize you in the beginning, And then she's got all these colleagues around her listening. It's like the only way you could be successful in her world is if you're The full and I thought that maybe they might take a spin on it and do something else, But I think it could have very easily been if we're gonna actually empower these characters. That's why if we take out Steve, if it was, if she had been a better friend, take him out completely. She had been a writer friend like Doug because you don't even have to rewrite it that much. You can really just kept him out. And she didn't make her wish The movie still would've stood because it would have been okay, So Barbara Minerva is still having the issue she's has. There's other ways that you can address those and work on. Well, Basically, we want to talk you through your self esteem issues. We can work on that and that that's really what we work on is going. That this is what you need to think about is being yourself and why you're enough Not being enough means you have to be these things. And like what she was focused on which was the beauty and that gives you power and all those things and now you're sexy and people care. You know, and so and the way that they were showing villainizing her and making it sound like she was just so envious and it made her a bad person. I'm like, I'm no. You're just leaning into our patriarchal society. It's not your fault, and then they like the way that they made It seem so bad that she beat up this guy who physically assaulted for didn't care about him. Was I supposed to care? Then he even died. Don't even her friend that she had been feeding whatever was called her out, and I'm like, what do you do then? Wonder woman lectures or later. I'm on like you need to get off your high horse because you are pining over a man has been dead for 70 years and stop it. And that's not very feminist, Is it? No. And back to your Steve character not being involved. I love how we had to sit there and experience Steve Learning what the eighties was like a scene. Oh, man. Yes, It's like you're cool with that. Yeah, I was. I was cool Part..

"Her fabulous treats from the QuikTrip. Here's dog, McClane. Guys, It's don McLean you know that because you're looking at my instagram today on this show, we talked about QuikTrip food, and I went to quick trip just a few minutes ago and got some food like some Chicken tenders here and also a rolling meat log. Now, I will say I tried to pull up into this parking lot right next to quick trip, But guess what happened. Some dude pulled up next to me. Not right next to me, but like two spaces away, and I'm like, what do you doing? I'm just trying to eat my food in the fitness center parking lot in peace. So the first thing I got was, it wasn't one of those bright red meat logs that I talked about that are rolling for like 14 hours. This is a bacon cheese. Um Chicken roller bite, So that's what it looks like. I'm going to try it right now. Own grimaces here. Yeah. That's okay. It's nothing that's gonna really knock your socks off their e Don't really love that. I'll have to come back when the red meat logs rolling. Um and this people are raving about this listeners. Talked about the chicken tenders at quick trip, So I got the last one. So I got to try a little chicken tender. Just to make sure that they're good and tender, just like a tender chicken tender should be so Mm. Those aren't bad. Mm hmm. And kind of would want the breading to be a little West soggy, but I think it's just because it's in this this box here, so that kind of gets condensation on it. Um, but, hey, I'm willing to try that rolling red meat log assumed they sues. They get those popping over at the Quik trip today, So I hope you enjoyed my video who the company that makes these is comb kitchen cravings. It's not a lot of people getting food, a quick trip like construction workers, Um, just regular ladies with kids. It's a hop in place to eat. Just don't know what reason just regular ladies with kids moms? Yeah, I don't think I've ever felt like a regular lady. S so that's probably why I look at other moms and go. Oh, you know, that's a regular lady. I'm here regularly beat somebody a normal She's a normal construction workers regular ladies. This shit, you know, Mom's God. Oh, okay, So, uh, the taste. Obviously the breading could be crispier. But It's of no fault of the quick trip. That is the condensation of the packaging. If if it was at full Chris Penis Dawn flavor profile of the QuikTrip chicken tenders that so many people told us about Oh, flavor we had. Yeah, definitely. It had just the right Kind of spices on it. It was like a crumbly breading didn't feel like it had come from a truck that had been, you know, frozen foods. They're just kind of, you know, whatever a chicken tender they is not tender and you have to break through that breading to get to the chicken and just feels like it's been frozen forever and then tossed in a fryer. This really felt like they were pretty fresh, and I hate the word fresh, but it's just a descriptive word that I That's why you're not normal price so fresh. So, yeah, it's pretty good. I would try to get if they and it's funny because they must be so popular. Cause the entire I got the last little box and it was on Lee 10:45 A.m., So I think they have to continue to crank these out. You know for everybody that's coming in like regular ladies with kids. You know those regular ladies with kids. There's so much food a quick trip. It's half of the story is food. Yeah, it's just, you know, very little bit. Little of it is package convenience store food. Yeah. You've got a coffee station. And just like the grab and go total. And this wasn't a big quick trip. I was like, Wow, this is really like Lot of food here and somebody emailed and said they'll make it for you fresh if you want it, and I'm like, you know, I'm probably not gonna be a Karen like that. Don. I hate to tell you they only do that for regular ladies like you are very irregular in a number of ways, so just to reveal what I had to do when I ate this I literally there was a fitness center like a small one. Like in anytime Fitness type place. There was literally one in the parking lot adjacent to the quick trip. I pull up in there. There's a guy that pulls in, so I had to leave their I went across the street and where I parked too. Eat this food was a natural food market. Oh, everybody's going in getting their organic. No avocados and eating, You know, organic, good farm. Fresh food. You're eating or processed chicken finger double fisting fingers me long. But I, uh it was so it's just like you can't hide in. Shame way love you quick trip We had the Dural er coming up. Minute. 8 30. I'm excited. Dawn finished that docuseries. We've been talking about murder on Middle beach. This article could to use that movie theaters were allowed to reopen at 25% capacity in places. Wow. They mentioned New Jersey 5%. Yeah, I actually saw an article yesterday. It was It was in my news feed, right? Like the Google suggestions of things that you might wantto might want to read about. And the title looks really good like it was about how movies in the 19 eighties specifically 1988 where diehard came out for sure. John McClane, the character Bruce Willis's John McClane from never forget Nakatomi Towers. Yeah, exactly. Great movie one of the best. Ah, and so the headline of this story. We just pull it pull it up here. I can't actually read the thing because it's on a New York Times site. Which means you can't read the thing. Ah, well, you know, it's gonna let me read it Now. That's good. Anyway, the headline UN coup wth cranky and rude movies in 1988 were a far cry from today and films like Die Hard Cocktail in a fish called Wanda Characters were allowed obscene, neurotic and mean. Now the edges air razor it off. And I thought I was to be an interesting article about you know how cool you know Movies used to be and how ossified they've gotten today. That's at least what the title and subtitle made it sound like, but I couldn't get down past the third paragraph. But in paragraph two The guy who's writing it who I presume lives in either New York or New Jersey, because he's working for the New York Times, and he mentions being around that area. Wesley Morris. Hey says that they were going to go see 10 it, which is the only movie really of words has been released since the pandemic. Basically, that's been released at some theaters, right like there's Ifyou're theaters are open in your area. Then you could go and see this one movie. Of course they're selling. You know they're showing old movies from like theeighties in the night, which is cool, But I just want to read this. Sentence or the few sentences for you. The conditions were optimal. Newjersey caps theater attendance at 25% and my boss rented out the entire house as a precaution. So a few of my colleagues and I sat rows apart and agreed to remain masked the entire time. It was lonely, he says. And then he goes on to actually criticized the movie that he was watching. But I just thought What it must be like to live in that level of fear. You're so afraid of going to the movies that your boss rented the entire theater, which could only have 25% of the people in it, period. So he paid for whatever the costs, 25% of the seats rented the entire theater. So this guy and a few as he describes it of his colleagues. Could go and sit rose apart from one another and wear masks the entire time just so they could watch a movie. That's how arguably right about it, and that's how frightened that this guy is. So it's like, What's this guy really going to say? Now? I don't really want to read his article because, you know he's talking about how movies and characters have their edges worn off these days. Well, yeah, it's because of people like you come in here, so no balls who are so ossified that they you know, won't even go to the movie theaters without a mask on constantly on being sat rows away from people. I just thought Tonight. I'm going to talk about or try to work in The show that's based on the Betty Broderick murderer, and we didn't discuss any of this during a commercial break. Oh, my gosh! Wow! That's cool. OK, we are. Oh, my God. Yes, They're getting cycles. Do you think of Eyes that time. Nobody So we talked about you got me into listening to this podcast isn't dirty John. It's season two. So if you'd never listen to the first Dirty John podcast, and I think the show's kind of hokey with Connie Britton, it's not that great from what I heard. Yeah, I skipped over that one side, and I've not heard good things about it. But the podcast is freaking excellence. It's from the L A times. Yes. So this is a completely different story. But it is just a cz. Good. I think I actually wanted more. I wish there were more episodes. I agree by winning four episodes. And then I listen to all the supplemental episodes that air about like the writers and what where they're coming from. And how they wanted to tell the story from a different perspective. Yes, Betty Broderick was a woman who? Spoiler alert, You know, right away. I mean, this was all through the Yeah. I mean, this was all over TV. You could see it on. I don't know if it was TV at the time, but it was you could catch it during the day. The the trial, right? Yes. Yes, it was on court TV. Um, so anyway, that's that you can find out the story. There she was on Oprah. She was interviewed. She became sort of an anti hero for for women who have been abused, right? Eso. It's It's just an interesting story. So I really, really wanna watch. There's a show with Christian Slater in Amanda Peet, and it's about this and you know, I'm not a huge Amanda Peet fan. I think you will. I think, Get on her word, but you've got to stick with it. Well, so good in it, and it is campy. It's gotta campy feel to it in the beginning, But if you stick with it, I haven't even looked to see what the Reald Betty project looks like. My God, her because she's described is like very beautiful, leggy. Just Ah, lot of make up pretty Amanda Peet. You know it is a beautiful girl. Yep. Woman, I guess Now Christian Slater plays the husband and he you're just going to hate him. Am I? Because I'm confused. You know the way the podcast lays out it really You sort of halfway through. You're like I don't know who was right and who was wrong? Or if I die here, excited both perspectives and tell the end which I won't spoil. Right. Here's here's the thing. Did you get to the point where he's like at the Las Vegas bar? Yes, and somebody over here? Some of them that I was, like, Shut the front door. What have I never heard That portion of the Betty Broderick story? And when I remember hearing the story Cause I had to have been in high school. Probably What was the year? I think it's no, I was in 1992. Okay, so Okay? So he I think that the actual event happened in 89 then okay? Yeah. Her trial was in 92. OK, so I was already in college out of college and I followed this story and then MEREDITH Baxter Birney played. Betty brought Broderick in a made for TV movie. Okay, Yeah, And she was fantastic. And she fit the profile because, sir, looks like like her and Amanda Peet is a brunette and you don't kind of There's kind of a disconnect. But that version of the story from how I remember it. Wass. That Betty was just a revengeful, angry woman. Losing her mind needed anger management kind of thing. She just can't get over it. This one This dirty John rendition of the story is kind of gives you a little bit more of an understanding of where she was coming from. Yes, well, I I can't wait to watch it. I know. And it doesn't show him in the most positive light. Okay. Where is the other one Just showed, like here's this great, successful guy just decides he doesn't want to. He has an affair with his secretary and marrying her s O. I think that you know, honestly, it sounds like because this was one of the first televised court TV cases out there. People became really focused. A lot of women were champions for her because she was, you know, sort of an anti hero like I said, and and they fueled All of this for her into never let go write that, believing that she was right and justified in killing her ex husband, right and his then wife and spoiler alert. Um, you know, she Tries to get out on probation, not probation. Parole. Yes. And it doesn't seem that she has the remorse that the parole board is looking for, like she's still kind of justifies her actions. Right. It's been 30 years that she's been in prison. It's crazy. "John McClane filling in And, uh, we've got whole producing. Hey, thanks, hole. No doing a great job. Thank you Way. Got some tents for you. Time for a tip tips there, okay. Their tips it everybody Alright, John, You've got some tips on peanut butter. One of my favorite food. Yes. I had a boyfriend once who used to not refrigerate his jelly. And it was in the cabinet with his peanut butter and I'm like you're supposed to. And he used to fight with me about like, No, you don't need Teo. That's what preservatives or for unlike those air preserves, not preservatives. Okay, so anyway, peanut butter. A lot of people don't refrigerate it now. I found this article on the Food network's website. And they said, you do need to refrigerate some peanut butters. How do you know which, well, that's a good question because there isn't and there aren't any instructions on a jar's label. So on a peanut butter jar doesn't say refrigerate after opening. It doesn't say that it doesn't say anything, but when it comes to, according to the National Peanut board, Very prestigious. Um, open jars of commercial process. Peanut butter stored in a cool dry cupboard is okay if it isn't natural peanut butter. That's what I wanted to know. Because with that oil and everything it gets a little tricky. Yes. And if you take a long time to eat your peanut butter, it's going to go rancid Very quickly. If you have it in there for, like, four months, And you khun Taste he have ever tasted rancid yak butter grows like Who are you? Okay, So right now my PB is in my C B. Huh? Um, your cupboards. Okay? And I used to refrigerate it. But it's such a pain in the neck, kid like, isn't it's hard You're toast rips and, yeah, you know, I don't strip right. No national. Eso Eso. Natural peanut butter is what you need to refrigerate after two weeks. If you eat it really quickly. You're fine. And they want you to make sure do not which I am saying this and I'm thinking I hate stereotype men and women, but I'm thinking of men. If you have a dirty knife that had jelly on it. Don't put it in the peanut butter because you're going to grow things in your natural peanut butter, especially especially if you don't put your jelly in the fridge. Right. So please use a different knife for peanut butter and jelly came in. Okay, That's a great idea. Yeah, okay. Um do you put your syrup in the fridge? Uhm I normally would if I bought it. I just I just don't have it. I usually just heat up jam in a little. Cut the like, and that might go a jam on your jam on my waffles and anything else, Alia, We don't really I don't usually buy just regular, sir, but most of time, I guess I would put it in the fridge. To you. I never know what to Doson have maple syrup. I never eat it unless I have My big manly relatives coming to visit like my brother and my nephews. And then I went and bought a big one at Costco and I'm like, Why did I do that? Because a little one is like $8. But a hosko It was like, 12 for a big one, Huh? Yes. Like, well, I need more so I went. I'll just take the big one. So I don't know what to do. All right, Knock it off. I don't know. You don't know if you should refrigerate syrup? Yes, because we had the conversation when Steve Steven I at one point we're talking about whether or not to put butter in the fridge or on the counter. Turns out, it's supposed to stay on the counter it ISS. My mom does that, And I think it's growing. I just started doing it because, Hey, I don't have to wait for to get soft before I put it on my bread because I don't want it to rip. Yeah, My mom always has butter on the counter. Well, apparently we had some dairy farmers call us and say that it should go on the counter. Wow moms, right? Yeah, And I don't remember why, But you know what you do you Yeah. I still want to put it in the fridge. I get it. Hope. What do you do with my butter? It's in the fridge. But my grand parents, I guess would leave that out covered, right? Yes. Yeah, but my mother is yet exactly, but with this syrup, I'm not like I never know what to do with that, either. So I take like I rotate whatever I feel like when I have it well put in the fridge or I'll just put it in the cup. I know, but I don't think that change of temperature is ignoble either, But I do this Like when I just like If I have it are by, I think I just never know.
