"Brothers, people said you were saying Bob we. Sorry we love you and Bill Champlin, but we talked about four points in that final four. And they ended up losing the bill walking them by two or three points in the championship game, but that's just the way it's being, you know, you know, your brother's going to stay with the brothers when it comes to basketball, especially especially in the 6 a.m. These companies or, you know, and Gina was talking to me. Bob, I got another question for you. Bob wife was it that? I knew basketball had changed the first time I saw it was it was Jesus. He was Martin Luther King in the barbershop and then there was a picture of Larry Bird and the black barbershop, I was like, wow! Wow, so they get their birthday and wagons, you know, like damn just brother. Cross cross X Coast. I always tell people, I say, I was the first guy, actually, the first pro to play against it down near the league average in nineteen points of game. So, I'm playing against Larry and I was again and Prejudice black dude, who didn't never who never thought any white guys could play dead. And I remember sitting on the Statue, when he walked in, I'm like, I did like this, Great White, Hope the first birth, It's like I am going at Larry. I am scorned. Yeah. But I didn't realize that this way boy, was this bad. I was like he hit the first jump shot. I would like immediate Need Is Love second or third. One by the end of the practice. I remember getting to the first black person I could see, you know why this damn white guy can play off. So funny God though I said you think you me one great white player, he gives me two of the greatest, white players ever the flavor you could ever play any song, you want to talk about. Dave cowens they tell by Helen Jake but but Larry Bird and Kevin McKell where the shoe greatest white players ever to play together. Yeah, I definitely think about the slaves back in the sixties. Now these guys didn't get to where a bird and McHale got but dead. Did you have some bad white, boys, and Carolina and complaint? We had some boys in Greensboro and Burlington. This boy, Tommy Cole. This boy, Jackie, Kang, feeling angry, man, these boys could go. Oh, man, these guys could play Bama. Look, look, Barb the first White first white guy. I ever just admire playing a game. You play the University of Virginia, who I'm talking about your favorite wife, his name was Barry Park. He said a cc over me. He had the shaggy-haired. I know he was a very long. I can't. I came in second in both of the ACC player he didn't. I think he might have played one year or he might have got cut when he gave To the NBA..

"Those are the messages that you know, the players have to send two older players and just where you love this, that ain't take it. Now I know we live birth Taking those shit. Okay, that's how they oh yeah. Oh yeah. That's that's hey that's what the government doesn't seem as if you did. That's how you get your reputation. That's how people stop. You know, stop screwing with you and stuff. I mean my stuff started before I even got on the floor, they wanted the rookies to Thursday. I had a veteran that came in and rookie year my rookie year and tried to bump me off the table and I said, no, no, no, I ain't do that. You know, now looked at it, like what you want to do, you ain't bumper me off this table and there's there's this, the dial was set right there. Yeah, what happened? I was essentially right off me from this table. That's why I'm going to jail. What Dave cowens money off the table. What did I do? Got off that damn table. Today. I'm tell you off. Recycle up, I'm good. You got that I'm going out here without tape on my ankle right now. I could tell you something, you never believe this. I've had Bob Kaufman came in who I don't know if you heard the story. Bob Kaufman, knocked Dave Collins out. Wow, a big big Bob coughing and with the Guilford College, there was a buffalo guys come in and I said, no, I'm not doing that the rookies. Take bags, I didn't take no bags off. I say, that's not in my contract. I'm not taking a bath. I'll let, I'll let Jack Ramsey, know, and I'll let the veterans on the team. Know I wasn't doing that, maybe that's why they called me now content. Malinga that stuff off first impression, no major. Another thing where you would After you were drafted, what number, what I was the number to pick, we'll see, you know, certain things. You can go screw with some people like that. I mean, when magic came in with nobody screwing magic like that verb, we didn't ask do that. You know, he came to our team, he was mad one time cuz we had at that time. We were playing, we were flying commercial and his ticket was pink and ours were white. And we was there was when he was in coach, he was off, right? I understand though is in exactly right. When just way veterans are going to challenge you in the truck series are going to see where your heart is. They can't do. And if you don't, if you don't come back and retaliate against them, then that's going to make them do it that much more. I mean, Look at it now. You got poked in the eye by the rent in the second game, it was out in the second half. Did you see the ring walk over and say, yo man you suck you will get away.

"He's Dodge these fans, right? I mean, one way or another, when the fanbase decided to say Kyrie sucks at the end of a game that he wasn't in, where did Kyrie do? He went to social media and wrote about it? I mean like I feel like this was a way for him to sort of set the tone heading into this one. Like what? You're going to Boom me. Make sure it's disrespectful at the same time. If you guys do get really, really harsh from a national standpoint The Narrative right now I'm sitting is that it's going to look pretty damn races. If you see a bunch of white faces at TD Garden, you know, chanting, whatever they've created a chance to come up with now that he set the tone with this, with this real life. Well, if they, if they start here, if there's chanting something like, Kyrie sucks, even that for me, Bob, is, is something which is disturbing. And, and I'm saying, it's disturbing to me. Because if I have a, if I have a young kid with me and all these young kids are at the game and, you know, how impressionable there they all. Yeah, they're, they're saying I have an eight-year-old. I bring him to the game and and we're chanting Kyrie sucks. And and my son or my daughter looks at me and gone Kyrie sucks what Dad, well, what what disease I mean wage is, is the thing that I look at and I think Boston fans are better than that. I think a lot of these people are, they is just going to join into, you know, that is that's a problem. What are we teaching our kids? But that's part of sports though. I had not only sports, that's, that's part of of life. You see was happening today in society, you know, this is totally out of control right now, you know, off. And I'm saying it has to be a point where we started dragging this thing back in and maybe maybe I'm looking at it like you know I'm in I'm in Disneyland or or I'm in I'm at the wizard Wizard of Oz of seven but you are you are looking back in the bottle has to be a point where we start dragging this thing back in. Cuz right now it's getting off of it is getting out of control to somebody is somebody's going to get really hurt. And I mean, I ain't talking about like, you know, something like like Ronald Reagan. Spent some time talking about somebody's going to get hurt. Somebody going to get killed, you don't think you might look..

"Yeah i mean for the second part of our discussion. I would be really curious to learn more about this. My move up that you developed. And i mean you are educator on your drawing on critical pedagogy and i think kind of health technology and and different apps and weather day support people to move or not. This is quite contested as well. So perhaps you start telling me a bit about the journey behind that apollo it towered became to be than what your thoughts were in in the process. Well i guess the folks who was sonny. I have nephews. Jim action but i never think. Oh my gosh you know this might insult is it. Tends to start with a line of inquiry and of inquiry was your. I've been in this field thirty odd years. Everyone in this building clue myself says that the driving forces to ensure young people are what we now are two mcadoo stat Young people into use physical activity to support life flourishing. But that might be just that you in very plain english. It would be that people participate for a long time The wise and the cit. We should participate. We touched upon and to be only a thing of arrived at a position. At the moment where i think the wise very important at the think if we're talking about meaningful engagement than it's the individual who funds that meaning as we've touched upon so to be saying to young people. You need to do this because it keeps you healthy. I think we probably shoot ourselves in the foot Started questionable one. We need to know if they saw and to. What would happen if you just. Because and just like his physical activity. We can teach you about to begin. Hopefully teach you to love it and really adopted in your life. And you don't need it because you find that because so with backdrop we've been grappling will be lives that i think the missing link is without actually know during the a a young person's schooling an uncle set against the backdrop of scored in the is applicable outside the scope Within a school. You've got peak teachers. An order of this great work. That working really hard to get kids turned onto physical inactivity yet. We do not know if they are actually do any physical activity outside vow ice shelf with at being a typically. Listen some kids might to some extra stuff that the school puts on but you know. What are they doing that junior pot. Right on a saturday do anything. Go to martial art involved in organized informal sport that i have a guy to a pock spice and enough for free speech around that i did. I swim. We don't know that and then drawing from from commerce really is i if you you know we. We started off when we started this journey around my move asking the question if apple did it. Not how many computers they were selling and let's face it. That's the very straightforward cow. If they didn't know how many downloads have i tunes would have then they would be a seriously week position in the world that we live in. Just you know that information is very very powerful. I'm wondering reasons it's powerful for me. The biggest drivers of getting up an out is to provide the feedback loop full teachers very much touches. Upon many of the things we've already covered in impart one mind. The equity now is every school using my mood for equitable sees right now. Couldn't tell you. But if i want if as a teacher i wanted to know who the beneficiaries of my program are an is there patsy this just say gender parity in other words Of the goes. I teach at a point interactivities much as the boys. An as as you pretty much every indicator every metric of activity around the world shows that always tend to be more active than goes an so if a teacher wants to know that if if

Leslie Blodgett, former CEO and founder, bareMinerals

"Hey everyone this show might sound a bit different today because we're skimming from three different couches. This is still working from home for the time being because of covid nineteen today Leslie Logic joins us on skimmed from the couch. She is a trail blazer of the beauty industry leslie founded bare minerals, which she grew into a global empire by tapping into the power of marketing and community. And in two thousand ten, she saito acquired it for almost two billion dollars while her new best selling book. Pretty good advice. Give some pretty great advice and is available now leslie were except to have you welcomed skin from the couch. Thank you so much for having me looking forward to hanging with you guys. We have been very excited to do this. We met Leslie at a conference that we were at about almost two years ago year and a half ago we. Didn't know who it was like we knew her name, but we didn't know that she was the Leslie blodget. We just saw this like friendly looking who was wearing this very cool hat and standing outside getting coffee and she came up to us in and you're a huge fan of the scam and when we realized it was you I think we both like didn't even know what to. stadio. So I think it goes to show like you have such a friendly personality and. That makes everyone feel comfortable in talking to you and is also harshly how you are able to talk yourself into any room in in your early days of your career, which we're GONNA get into. So let's start off with our standard first question, which is Skim your resume for us our. Newspaper Out McDonnell's what did you do at McDonalds? Everything. I started with like cleaning toilets and sweeping the parking lot and then moved up to making burgers it Max then at fit. Two years of fit graduated in turned beauty companies. Always wore is shadow since I'm little kid went to work in the industry or selling makeup behind the counter spritzing fragrance bloomingdales in New York City in macy's met my husband at macy's while I was working behind. The counter is part of my resume I know it's a career thing is he's he's important. Did he keep coming back or did he like ask you on a date while you were working at the counter? All right. So I worked in macy's and part time because I was going to school and his girlfriend who's really cute. Girlfriend had the same shifts that I did like. He they lived in Brooklyn together and he would come in. So she didn't have to take the subway by herself at nights. and. That's how we met. We I I never knew the story Oh my God. So he would he would come. He was so sweet I kept asking do you have a brother friend and he did hook me up with friend once that didn't work out but it wasn't until they broke up a couple of years. Later he got a number and called me so what I didn't break any relationship. Okay. That's a good story though. Okay. So keep keep going macy's macy's then got a job at Halston Orelon you guys probably don't know a Halston, the fashion design end ud line I worked there for a little while then the big job was working at Max factor and then we were acquired by Revlon and moved to La? The company Max factor acquired by PNG and moved to Hunt Valley Maryland Maryland Baltimore had a baby in Maryland that was the best part. Of Maryland then we moved back to la because Keith wasn't digging Maryland so much whatever, and then he became the state Dad didn't have a career anymore after that I ended up being the breadwinner starting the kid was born and then were worked neutrogena. And then San Francisco in here we are what is something that people can't Google about you that we should now. Aren't. So here's the thing to that I. Don't have a Wikipedia page. My team for years wanted me to build one, but I had this issue with being. Out there. So I don't know what's out there and I'm very uncomfortable with what's out there. So what would people not know about me? That I can play the harmonica and hula-hoop at the same time. Did you do that growing up? On hula-hoop for sure the Harmonica, I learned as an adult. So I have a hula-hoop now as an adult that I use regularly. So then I just combined two gifts that I have. You write about a quote kind of stuck out at me. The quotas get desperate I wanna dig into what that means because I think you know when in reading about your story like we've gotten to know you a little bit over the last year or so and I knew the high level part of your story. But in researching for this, it don't think I really could appreciate her understood how you really got your foot in the door and so I want to understand what get desperate meant for you. Yeah I think for me. I always had to work hard to get noticed it in everything I did and I think number one is my parents were divorced when I was nine and we were left with her mom not that there was a bad vanishes that she was the the strict one the tough one. So I was always like driven to please her with I think a lot of kids have that too. She was never quite one hundred percent. Happy. So I was always trying to please her. So I was always going above and beyond to get the grades and to get on the teams and that type of thing because I wasn't. We didn't have a ton of money growing up I had to be creative. So by the time I went to two years of college and I. My first two years. It was rough because it was my first time being outside of my mother's like grip. So kind of had a little bit too much fun when I realized that I had to. GET DOWN TO BUSINESS. My mother helped me figure out what my passion was. I UNI but couldn't get in to fit I couldn't get a job behind the beauty counter, which is what I need to do to get into the cosmetic program and I had to so learned that when I'm desperate when I can't seem to find my way is when I get most creative by when I'm at the bottom feeling down instead of being depressed for long periods of time I just started thinking what would I do in little steps to get there the story I have in The book is about Bloomingdale's I. wanted to work there really did but they would not give me the time of day because I had no experience on mcadoo, you have it if you don't get it the only solution to that was to just be in their face and I thought without being too annoying I'm GonNa go to the buying office. I'm going to go there every day every morning I know when they come in because the first time I went and it was a very narrow hallway. And I would smile and they would have to brush past. We had to literally touch audience for them to get by, and they just saw me every day and I think you don't persist Internet way just. So dedicated to your personal 'cause I had no choice for sleeping on couches I didn't have a place to live. They said. Why don't you come in? We'll find something

"World class. Sprinter is a world class, Brenna. You can put him out there I mean. He probably would be loose on, but you could put him on the line with eight. You know guys for the Olympics and he was shown well in that because that's how fast he was I mean. I've never seen a slow Sokha play anyway. Remember I told us all American soccer player in college along with the basketball. So, guys quick as as Ricky Green wasn't fast like Randy. Well Alan. Iverson, coupon can wait. Kuba did question. Green quick. Quick Randy was quick and fast, he said the fastest. The ME is foot speed. Baseline to baseline, they couldn't hang with him. Baseline to baseline, so can I ask you a question? You being one of the top defenders in the in the League, and been there for a good little while who was one of the toughest guys you had to defend that you. I know you took those challenges every day night in and night out. But who would you say like that dog I got got I got to defend this guy. Good questions for you guys all know this I. Think some of the top one was George Gervin. Late Great Mike Mitchell might Mitchell could score man. To him, people forget about how good that guy was. Brains and posted a basket. Obviously Michael Jordan Young Michael Jordan but the hardest one. Would have to be Larry Bird the only reason I say this is because Larry. With dangerous with the basketball, but he became more dangerous when he didn't have the basketball players like Michael Jordan. Michael threw the ball away. He kinda like rested a little bit. Might Mitchell door to govern government. Vice versa, but Larry was GONNA go rebound. The ball was going to go setup. Pick for somebody when he has the ball. If he wasn't scoring, he was looking to throw it to somebody for scores, so he'd have to be the toughest. Simply from the the mental aspect of the game is that he was always on the offense with those guys when they had the. The basketball and in. Do you know sometimes when you're tying? Not when you go that? Ball your team, mate. That's your time to rest, so you take a breather from Larry? Never arrested, and he was always on offense, and he was, he was the toughest I had to guard, but another play I like to bring up that people have a tendency to forget to. That can and do Tony Man. This dude here who? Anglo before. The Kelly's. Our no this call it. Boy, Boston Strangler because why. By that could guard that to ban Andrew Tony was a out bits on that basketball court man guide when at you at all positions, he could take down low post. He could take you from fifty, and he had that Moxie like many Johnson had. Stopping mate and he's around the face, so but those. Guys were good man, but lay after the best. What would you do? You have a God David Thomson. David was good. He was hired to his Thompson with. The dentist issue, but they. Would just jump over your dunk on your ass, so you would. I. Think of another guy who who you would respect and David..

You know what and I say this about Boston. Guess I hate the city. I didn't like the people could stand there players, but I loved the Boston Garden because of the the historical basketball that was always played there. The floor was terrible and you know that was the one thing you hate about planning the garden because the players knew where the dead spots were, we played there, so much kicks so much, but we eventually learn where the dead spots. A banner with all other players numbers, I really respect that about Boston, because it takes more than those those individual jerseys and those players to win championships I mean. "Big. Slip in slip through their. Top he's GonNa go. He's those slippers, little slender body through their. He'd be right there on you on. Pitman I'm. Walk and play some. That's vantage of being. Hate it. I hate it when. I say hey, when they announced his name. I hate it when they are now. I. Hated it? Aided there. Guys listen, let's put this in this Mac. What type of player would you be in today's game? To win a million dollars a year for. Right now. I mean. I think that all our games I think Bob mcadoo's game was probably more suited to today's game than any any of us the three of us I had to really change my game because the power game around the RIM and layups in free throws. That's that's gone. You have a better shot because you three point shooter and you were you guys in both before a lot of other people, but the game with a really had to change, but a lot of players great players played it at the time. Their game with the has evolved because you you have to be. Be Able to knock down the three right now you have to be a but back to north for me for you and looking at your game. Teams don't know how to double team. That's why I think that you would probably be thirty. Points score in today's game. If they got a down to you real quick because you do look at the glee. Everybody's spread out so much to wear all. They're concentrating on his takeaway teens three point shot I. Think the first a lot and I hate to say that because you know I don't really like you but I. Don't worry more hurt that much. Again you know the crazy boys when you talk about that. Is You look at layers now? and. The history of the game. was lost, but now is Kinda gained again with the whole thirty thirty. It's quick story I'll tell you was. We the thirty for thirty series came on Lakers versus Celtics and Jason Tatum. You know one of our star players on the team now. He is seeing the series, so so A. We came to a game and he started yelling like he was walking the and he saw me. Cooler bree cuong acid. What would you? Are that thirty for thirty. You're a bad ass bro. I think the history of the game now was lost, but because of some the things that have happened can be recaptured by whereas because. Then look at you sometimes even what you're talking about. You got multiple ring all well. Let me tell you. Why I remember when I was coaching with the heat talking about it's the game when I was coaching with the heat me and Brad. We used to see each other before the game. He's doing his. And bread.

Running Experiments When There Are Network Effects

"So we talk a lot about AB testing. But I think there's some complexity that we often don't address you don't say yes talking about it. Yeah let's do that. You're listening to linear digressions. Well so there's a lot of things that you're talking about with complexity in experiments but the one that we wanted to talk about in this episode is network Effects Network Effects. Yes so you you used to work at facebook. I know which is one of the more famous networks out with their And so I don't know if you've ever. I thought about this before but let me use facebook as an example to introduce the problem here. So let's suppose that you your face but you're working on some new feature that Was designed to when people Had that feature in their feed my goal was to have them like visiting facebook more often. Like maybe maybe it's I'm going to use an example from some of the one of the papers. I was reading this weekend to research for this episode. Let's suppose that it's A. It's a new search algorithm. That's supposed to give you a feed. That's better tune to the stuff that you want to read and that you're going to like that you're gonNA share and all this stuff you get a better feed need and the question is is actually better like does it drive your engagement. Number's higher or whatnot. And so let's suppose that we run a very simple. Ab You test. And you get randomized into the experiment which gets the new algorithm and I get randomized into the bucket which does not mcadoo algorithm. But you and I are friends and so we are. There's a a a no a line in the facebook graph that connects us to each each other and so you start interacting with facebook a whole lot more and you're sharing a whole bunch of stuff and you're like in a whole bunch of stuff. 'cause you've got this. Great New Algorithm is. See where this is going long. What's that GonNa do to my feet right or was I going to do to my engagement numbers right I mean Susie more? Maybe you see more ben in your feet because I'm more active exactly so there's is this feature here that is either has some kind of impact propagates out to other people in the network or maybe it's a feature that explicitly explicitly involves people interacting with each other. Like maybe it's a chat feature and you will literally never use it if you and I aren't both on it because we have to be able to chat chat with somebody else and that means we're both on it together these kinds of rise right. Yeah so the very simple just half the people in bucket a half. The people in bucket be leave randomize it and let that sort it all out. That doesn't work very nicely when you have network effects and so that's what we're talking about today. Yeah and actually let me give you a a couple of other examples of that grocer even even more I guess the effects are even more blaring. Yeah Yeah yes so very commonly. This is not just facebook obviously and obviously obviously all of my views are my own and all of that but like Very commonly at a tech companies in general. Actually anyone who can manage it. If you have a new thing that you've developed you want to test it out right you WanNa make sure that it works. I can say that launching a new feature to to millions of users or tens or hundreds of millions of users or a billion users. There's a lot of anxiety there because even if the amount of code that you've changed is fairly small if there's a bug that could that could Surface for a very small percentage of your users. That still might be a million people. And you really don't WanNa make a million people sad by crashing their facebook or whatever so you do some experimentation may be you launched to a smaller group of people or something like that. But what if your feature is. Let's go back in time here before. FACEBOOK CAD newsfeed. What if your feature is news feed? Then you've got you know seventy five percent of your users using the old thing which was just think I don't even remember what what there was before or newsfeed but then you've got twenty five percent of people who have this new thing so you're going to have people in our interacting differently with the platform and that's going to affect other people who are not seeing the new treatment but also you're GonNa get press coverage you know and you're GonNa get people talking about this new thing that seventy five percent. The people are not seeing. You're going to be over at your friend's house and you'RE GONNA be looking over their shoulder as they post something and you're gonNa wonder like what the heck is going one on with with them and their facebook or or their their service so there are so many different work effects especially around the launch of new features the launch of things that look visually distinct Website redesigns for example. It's just it's just really. It seems really simple on the face of it to make an AB test but the reality of it is that it's very very difficult to isolate those things in in to understand whether there are network effects and if so in what way are they skewing the people who were supposed to be the control group and unaffected by your by Your AB test. Yeah and I mean to some extent when you're thinking about this as a launch there's you in ways that companies I know we're like data rabbit hole right now but we'll come back up for air and a second reminds me there's some ways that companies can even take advantage of that to drum up publicity and stuff like remember. When a couple years ago twitter we went from one hundred forty characters two hundred eighty but they only rolled it out across the cool people I and so there are all these? PD like the long tweets. And they're puffing their chat sad a little bit cool people nor was I But anyway so in terms of like nerd speak here this is most relevant it for as you said there's all kinds of things that get tricky when you're just in your generic product launching mode and debugging but in particular. We're thinking about the case when you're doing causal inference on some kind of trying to figure out if the change that you've made is causing some kind of outcome to be different than it would otherwise which is has a lot of the same DNA but maybe it's a little bit different in practice. Sometimes anyway in nerd speak if we we are now doing the Living in the Rubin Causal Model Framework which is usually what we're talking about when we're talking about doing a causal inference on like Ab test type things. There is an assumption in that whole framework. The whole idea that we're gonNA use a randomized control trial to understand causality and that assumption in is it's an acronym usually that you'll hear about it's Where cut for the curse word? Don't you think I just I just thought like wait. What did you call me? I called U. S.. Ut Va Stabia appear via a stable unit treatment value assumption and. I don't think that this is very evocative of what the idea actually has the idea. Actually as that someone else's treatment assignment has no effect on anyone else. So I as someone who is in this experiment kind of live in a little bubble and I don't have any way of having my outcome changed in any way whatsoever by anybody else's assignment assignment. Either to the treatment bucket or to the control bucket so that that's what set for is talking about. Is that idea. Yeah so is making. Its that sutter. Assumption is built into kind of the the framework of most causal inference when you're doing a randomized controlled trial but as most people who deal with causal inference and experiments and stuff in practice. They know that sutter can oftentimes not be strictly true And so part of what in some cases you are trying to do when you're running. These experiments is understand and take into account those network effects. And there's ways that you can do this so all is not lost. We'll talk about this in just a second but Just wanted to make sure that we sign and posted here that this is actually pretty important assumption in like the AB Testing Framework Paradigm. Whatever you like to call it but it's something something that in the real world can be anything from approximately true or mostly true if you're a pretty fortunate to completely missing the point whatsoever of some of these things that you're trying to study yeah interesting in in my world I can say that Sutton is almost never guaranteed to be true? That sounds about right. I mean I used to work in. I used to work in particle physics. His Ex rate and so we were smashing particle beams into each other. There's barring any kind of like fishing on like of the quantum entanglement level which is probably mostly not an issue you know you'd think that independently and identically distributed data is you know. There's there's no place where you can find better examples of that than in particle physics but even us we had to think about what collisions were happening like immediately before especially the collisions. We were studying because they could change the response in the detector if there was like a proton that just shot through your detector sell an uh-huh Proton shoots through it then you might like a slightly different electrical response out and so it usually wasn't like got big of a deal but yeah it's it's it's actually if you think about most cases very very carefully. It's pretty hard to think of things that are truly truly have no no connection with each other whatsoever. Yeah I do sometimes wish that we could fork the universe and Do a true Ab test and it'd be interesting thing. Yeah sadly sadly probably never going to happen at least not in our lifetimes not outside of Black

Eli Manning and the Hall of Fame: The case for and against

"Ally manning thing announced his retirement on Wednesday retiring after sixteen seasons. He's thirty nine years old The giants quarterback who was of course supplanted by Danny dimes. This year but was a rock for for many years is now heads into retirement and it makes sense Meena In fact as a New York I all my friends are giant spans. I was on a tax change just the day before this news broke. And we're talking about that. Allies GonNA retire probably soon. Because when you look at the landscape with all these older quarterbacks on the market and what allies allies been doing the last couple of years. It never made sense that he was going to find a place to start games or perhaps he didn't want to be a backup. So this all made sense but still it. It is the end of an era in New York. I would love nothing more to come in here and defy I. I think what you all know. I'm about to say about Eli Manning I should not be wh- down calls US football cools right. Yeah I would love to say you know what guys you can't tell the story of football without Eli Manning which by the way why why is he the only person who gets that benefit say that about anyone else other than Eli. There's a lot of guys you can't tell the story of football without Aaron Hernandez put them in the hall of fame or if you want to look at pat super we were both. I mean they don't want any of them without dont`a hightower that's a holiday thing. Greg is compared. Eli Manning to know first. Ten Sahal Hyphen reductionist could be just one thing. You consider about a candidate quite well the few want ally in the holly. It's either two cases. One one is longevity. which is I think? A lot of people throw out. Because there's just too many guys who would get in by that and then the other is the two super bowls in the story thing. That's just not about how I would define it. It just becomes an argument. About how do you define the hall of fame. I think in my case against him has always been and yeah. I've been making this case for probably eight or nine years. So this is how long he's been average He's just been averaged entire career. Average in completion percentage yards per attempt. He's actually really way. Below average in the law of the interception categories passer rating these average. He's just for the time he entered the league to the time he left the league. He was an average quarterback over or that span. I I still don't like that being the conversation though when he retired. I we've had this argument so many times that I think we're just tired of it like we've said everything that there is to say about. Eli Manning in the Hall of Famer Eli Manning in general that. I actually was annoyed almost yesterday that that's the conversation when a really great player who was a big part of the league in you know no matter whether he was a top five quarterback no he never was maybe in two two thousand eleven. I went through it once. I think I had him at a top five quarterback one year top ten quarterback only one other your. Yeah that's not the hall of fame but like immediately the second he retires. The entire conversation is like the start of the public hall of fame. Talk which is GONNA be. Never any people are so confident about what's going to happen you don't I know what's going to happen becoming. We were like you know he will be in. It's like you don't know that I think the manning name like this is not a new thought but just that we've talked about royalty and stuff that he's sort of this. NFL Family fixture that. The people voting for this. I think they're gonNa Push Eli Manning right in not maybe. CBS voters down. The conversation depends on who he's against. Though you're really does. Conversation will be never ending for five years then going in. I'm sorry I don't listen you. Everybody discounts counting stats and cory will get too caught up or only point at the two rings and the two superbowl. MVP's but I just think there's something that'd be so if he didn't win those super bowls he's he's not he's not going to have him. I get that but there's something to be said and it's always been feel overlooked both on this podcast aspect in general. Because Eli can be a target. I feel like on twitter that the giants drafted him or the chargers. Technically but the giants Brought him into the team in two thousand four. They put him in the lineup in around October that year and then they never had to think about the quarterback position again for the next ten eleven eleven twelve years and I know things didn't end very well but they should have been thinking about it so when you're when you're talking about right ten years okay I'm GonNa say ten years when you think about other teams about your Brown's Mark My jets so many other teams in the league that go through constant search a churn looking for a guy and you end up with a stop. Stopgap and a rookie. You stinks and then a stop Gat and then another rookie. And maybe you hit on something. Like the SEAHAWKS got Russell Wilson. They don't have to think about anything. Russell Wilson's a better player than the but he eli for ten twelve years. They put him in there. He did his job. He was not spectacular but he was steady. You never had to worry about him getting hurt because he never did. He's the most durable the player ever. You'd never had to worry about him saying stupid something stupid to the media. He always handled that very well. You never had to worry about him. Getting into like a behind the scenes drama with with a coach and exploding and him being at odds and using the media to get a point across and all that stuff he was a Walter Payton Man of the year guy he was a total title. Good Dude and in those playoff runs. Then you factor that in for me. He rose up in historic way. And then just beat. Anybody didn't beat the Jacksonville. We'll jaguars didn't beat a Pittsburgh. steelers heat the Patriots and he'd be Bill Bell Check and he'd beat Tom Brady. And if if that's not something that should be given added points knowing who the Patriots are and what they represent in this era of NFL football. I'm sorry I disagreed to just kind of view that uh-huh yeah beat the Patriots. No he beat the greatest team of all time the greatest quarterback in the greatest head coach. I think that means a lot. His team did right playing. Okay Ah in that Super Bowl. I don't think he would say he had the best game. Even the play he's known for is crazy play. That could never be replicated. The two twenty eleven run is what I remember most fondly. Va Man. I think people kind of forget that won the last game of the regular season that they played it was against the cowboys and then the three league games in the NFC playoffs and that Super Bowl he had a collection of some of the most improbable. Low percentage awesome throws goes for five weeks. Stretch that you'll ever see Joe flacco kind of had a somewhat similar run any add little moments like that the year after they won the Super Bowl two thousand eight. He was really good throughout the year but they didn't win the Super Bowl because if eli manning they want it because of their defense I mean they wanna because of Justin Tuck and he learned of it. It's equally reductive to me to say. They won because of the argue he was part of it took to get into the. I mean the kind of connected back to the HIGHTOWER. No one's out here making a case for hightower you kind of do you. You like to throw this one in. I is the single most important outside of Brady and Gronk like the Patriots. Don't have this run of Super Bulls without dont`a hightower. I think I don't think belongs in the hall of fame but you could every all of the cases were making for. Eli You could just as easily make for like twenty other other random playwright quarterback a case you've made for you. I think is the case. Why he's a great memorable? NFL figure. It's just that's different than in. Our weather also talked about about it forever his position he was not a top ten quarterback. I would say for every year but two of his career. There's no one in the hall of fame you can say they've also said forever. You're in West. You've quoted Vince Lombardi on this that the quarterback it just the most important for a position or a position where the spotlight as and that comes with way. More pressure To it then dot high tower where his position is. I just think what you I was able to do in that spot in those two years is something you can't take away from. I and and say oh he was carried to titles. Because I don't I just don't see it that way. I think you've you stated the case very well. I think it falls shy of the hall of fame. I think if you're a jets fan like Dan or you're the browns fan and you've seen nothing but Ship wrecked chaos at the quarterback position. That the the idea that you would draft someone who would play as Eli did before a PR stunt got him benched you know. Couple of years twelve years of sixteen starts and by the way we are stunned. Got Him benched. He got himself well. That's fine but I'm saying but also the disrespect I just giants fan and you draft draft Philip rivers and he. He did what he did. But you get Eli Manning out of it and you know. He's going to win two super bowls in essentially a total ironman at the position. He's a hall of fame to a lot of giants fans I get. I don't think he belongs to the meeting. Early either reading a story just reading up on allies career. I completely forgot the whole two thousand seventeen. Browns Make It Official

"We will start with the official news out of Cleveland Scavenge to ban skis hired by the browns. They announce officially on Monday. He's thirty seven. Spent fourteen seasons as an assistant in Minnesota but has never been a head coach at any level level his entire. NFL coaching career. As I mentioned has been with one organization the Minnesota Vikings Stansky took over play calling duties on offense late in the two thousand eighteen season. Minnesota ran the ball. Forty seven percent of the time with Danske asked the play caller. That's the second highest rate in that span trailing only the Baltimore Ravens was introduced at a press conference just a little while ago. I the foremost success starts with people and I know we'll talk a lot about culture but it is absolutely about the people and everybody knows the Harry Truman quote. It's amazing what you can accomplish when no one cares who gets. That's the credit and that's what I believe. We have in our building. We have great people. I know we're going to add to it will hire G. G. M. here in the next week can or two and we're going to add to this culture that that we're building here and we have the right people and again. I can't stress enough. How excited I am the be? Just a part of did you know to use a basketball terms to my dad can understand this. I want to be the point guard for this organization. I want to bring the ball up then I wanNA share the basketball and let so what else get an easy bucket though smiling over there. WE'RE NOT GONNA I'M NOT GONNA speak anything into existence right now I can. I promise you that we're GONNA work. I've already spoken to a few of our players already. And that's what I'm about I'm about working and I'm about putting a foundation together the other. We will be methodical about it. We will not skip. Step two two and three to get to four. We're GONNA start in the foundation and then we're going to reinforce foundation Shen said we can build upon it and when I'm talking about this I'm talking about schemes and technique will be diligent about working with our players so that they can develop into the the best versions of themselves and ultimately we're building a foundation for what we hope is a championship. Effort will have a culture of accountability. We'll have structures is in place the players will understand our rules. And what we're about and we're going to demanding and we're going to hold each player accountable. Because ultimately I know this about players they they May Not come out and ask you for that. But that's what they want. Well perhaps the tenth. TIME IS THE CHARM IN CLEVELAND. Stansky is the tenth full time head coach Wjr. The browns have hired since returning to the League in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine that is the most in the league over that span of the previous nine. None have posted a winning record. Heard and not a single one has lasted more than four seasons continuity and consistency has been a real issue in Cleveland. Victor certainly something they'd like to you see changes to fanciest step in the right direction. In your opinion will I believe he is and I think that consistency where it is important. And right because you put up that list of all the coaches and the coaches that they've they've pretty much funneled through throughout the years can you provide that level of stability that they've been seeking for almost a year in and year out. Can you provide that for their now. The thing I do like about Stansky a fan ski is that he has experience with creating plays for two star receivers and I think that's something that's going to have to translate over to the Cleveland. Browns obviously with Odell Beckham junior junior and Jarvis Landry and having that experience I'm sure enticed of that for an office inside bring him in and understanding that they got to get the best out of these players in the best out of all their play makers obviously nick included In the backfield now is he going to be a leader of men and he is he going to be able to handle. The Eagles and the different personalities is that are in that locker room. Desk the biggest question that still remains to be seen. It's defense gas interviewed with the browns. Before in fact it's believed that he was the first source of politics but Desta several seasons ago and and it didn't work out. Matt you spent time with him as part of that Minnesota Vikings Organization. What can you tell us right? He he was a young quarterback coach at the time. And so when I got there was actually a little bit older than he was which is an interesting dynamic but at the same time. He's been all around that building. You know he's an administrative assistant and when he started there then. He was a quarterback coach. He's I've been with the running backs he's been with the wide receivers so he's been in all the different elements of the offensive side of the ball. He's seen the ups and downs. He's seen how free agency can impact so he's got a great feel feel. He's a great leader. He's got a presence about himself in the other thing that I think that the Cleveland browns are probably drawn to is the simple fact that this is a very quarterback friendly offensive structure that he's presented presented in for a guy like Baker Mayfield that had had his struggles last year. And maybe some confidence issues. Maybe not though. Let's see the press conference the same time. It's a quarterback friendly. There's a lot of play action. There's a lot of movement of the pockets. A Lotta easy throws to be made screen. And then there's like you said that balance forty seven percent percent of the time the run the ball. There's great balance in that offensive structure in for a young quarterback and going into his third year after some struggles. I think this is a great fit for that organization Asian and going back to when they actually made this higher People in Cleveland were telling me that it was actually his run game because we see what he was able to do with Dowling Cook and how he was able to make become a good player to really a great one and he's a central part of that offense that we now see in Minnesota and that was a big part of it but in terms of now Cleveland going forward looking for GM the way it was explained to me is they really want these to head coach and gm to work as one. This is why they moved on. From John Dorsey Percy and Freddie Kitchens. They didn't feel like this was working together. So they're looking for someone who has the same vision and the analytics department obviously is of of crucial part of Cleveland. And what they're looking for a head coach and I think that's why Stefanski became that lead candidate because he's accepting of it. He wants to be part of that and You know I think I saw some reports out there about how Cleveland is demanding that their head coach presents the game plan to ownership and really the way it was explained to me. It's not so much that they want to see the game plan. They just want everyone to be in sync to go over to make sure they're all on the same page headed into the game. Well you can't blame him and and that is something that clearly was not the case. I think you make a great point. It's poor in that somebody come in and be able to work and mold Baker Mayfield but also be able to be the CEO and run this whole organization and have everybody else be accountable. I think Freddie Kitchens might have had one of those two things that went by the wayside outside the quarterback with the hiring in Cleveland. What it does mean? Is that every chair on the head. Coaching carousel is now accounted for. The browns were the fifth and final team to hire a new head coach in the off season. Three of the hires tires Stefanski as we just discussed Joe Judge with the giants and Matt Raw and Carolina our first time. NFL head coaches the other two quite the contrary contrary Mike McCarthy in Dallas Ron Rivera in Washington they will get a second chance or in some cases third or fourth various established. NFL head coaches of of all the five. Who Intrigues you? The most in their new spot intrigues me is Matt Rule. I WanNa see what really transpires here right. He seven years sixty million dollar contract. That's a big commitment big commitment. I mean we might need to think about going into coach. That's it has everything else that they're also saying that they're making a commitment to Cam Newton with the type of style and the offensive structured. That they've set up McCaffrey's there I mean they've got the pieces of the puzzle there now. It's interesting to see how that that offensive structure from college translates to the NFL. which is I mean? There's been guys like chip Kelly in the past right John Harbaugh's price guy. That's been the most successful but that was more of a pro style offense with the most the most recent Kingsbury in Arizona so cliff Kingsbury. Excuse me it's been a mixed bag. There's no question. Let me ask you this just circling back to something you said by hiring Matt rule it you believe this means a commitment to Cam Newton. Can you explain why why I just think that The Baylor and watching their offense of structure and the RPO that takes place that's run pass options and all the different things that they're well versed in and that the Baylor offense has been historically historically very successful with in terms of that offense of structure I just think that that Fits Cam Newton's game very well and so I believe that that's a statement saying look. We wanted to bring somebody in here that you're going to be comfortable in this type of offense of structure and go out and be able to put yourself in a position to have success extent to intrigue you for me. Is Joe Judge my beloved giants. I think well I just think because going into it. Once I saw the Vacancy Happen at the head coaching position I was all right. The giants are GonNa come in here and get either like a Ron Rivera type or even McCarthy and get a guy that will come in and commanding presence. Once he walks into the building and I think with the hiring of Joe Judge just left me like okay I. It felt like the same cycle almost felt like coach mcadoo a couple years ago when you give a guy a shot and bring him in if he can transcend The coaching position or the year. After that when you bring in Pat Shurmur and you try to bring take a chance on another guy. Felt like we're taking another chance on another guy but granted. I must say I loved after the press conference I loved his mannerisms I love. He literally embodied what the New York Giants Football Organization is all about when he stepped up there on that podium Liam so I say that with a grain of salt because I love the press conference and I think he's going to bring something different than the other two coaches did in the past. But I still left me scratching my head in terms of who was out there here in the type of guys that could've came in that building and commanded a present these guys by the way Matt Rule and Gioja Geno. It's not about winning the press coverage but they did rule who was must see TV. I was just watching. He's missing time with the giants. Who so I knew all about? He's got does I think you know obviously recruiting such a big part of being a head coach in college. You don't mean to recruit You know when you're in the NFL. Which is why? I'm an agreement with you. I think that is the most enticing match COPA or at least the situation of the coaches just because you just look at history and making that jump from college the NFL. It's not easy and there just hasn't been a high success rate there. I think obviously he spent a little time with a giant. So it's not like he's

New York Jets head coach Adam Gase responds to support

"Adam Gates in his first season as head head. Coach of the New York jets his record today to end seven nevertheless interesting time for a vote of confidence jet CEO. Christopher Johnston said yesterday Ah Adam gays will return for the two thousand twenty season here is the jets CEO. I want to ensure you there would be no changes changes in coaches Adam. How's the trust of this team as the trust Sam? Joe's trust he has my trust. He's a good man. He's a good coach. There is a lot of work to. There's a great deal of to everyone understands And we're just getting started. I feel really good good Memphis team moving forward anytime you get support from ownership the way that the staff Scott supported. The old has gone way. Obviously we wanted We got a lot of games are jobs improve this team and go out and try to win games every week. And he's with us through every step within our communication with him so he kind of knows what we've been trying to do how we're we're trying to fix things that are that are wrong so no to get his support for him to Kinda see what we're trying to do. It's that's an important step fluish. Well that was Adam Gatien course responding to the SAGA lineup. Was He trying to avoid eye. Contact Tech High. We're out here. Do you find that the timing at all interesting or Steve. Young made the point. Yesterday Robert was a good time to do it. So people stop asking the question. I mean it is a good time. Just say. Hey He's going to be here next year but look he's been there one year having hasn't been a great year for him but you know look overall head coaching record. He's about forty a two percent. When winning percentage he wins about forty two percent of the time? So you know. It doesn't look so great for him moving forward but look he's got the support Ownership they're going to give him one more year and I can guarantee that next year if they're in the same position that they're not going to be so lenient on giving him another year. So Oh you look at what. NFL coaches are nowadays. They have guaranteed contracts. I highly doubt they WanNa give him a nice contract and then just release him halfway through his I well it gets to be an expensive decision. Yeah and that's a really great point because ownership obviously is invested in their pick. They want their pick to look good exam. You know you don't WanNa WanNa give up on what you decided so quickly although that has happened to certain coaches inside right around the league. But you can't forget that even even when Todd Bowles was there that the jets were ten and six in their first season and it was really bad. Blow to this team to the supper loss against the Miami Dolphins and just some of the adversity city that they've gone through since Particularly when there's been a lot of expectations with Sam darnold presidents on that team. Well Yeah. He was brought in large part to work with a young quarterback to develop SAM. Darnold help him take the next step. What's interesting is that they share the same stadium with the giants are struggling as well? Now in this case Pat Shurmur is in his second year as a head coach. But look they're coming off the bye. They've lost six straight. What's the word around his future? Well Adam gays was asked recently just how secure he is in his job in one of the ways in which which he retorted. What's to say I'm built for this? Just projecting confidence which you would expect the head coach to do. But I would be remiss to mention that some of the reporters in New York noted that was kind of the same something that Ben mcadoo said three weeks before the giants got rid of him and and clearly this is not the adversity or excuse me what they were looking to results wise to be having right now coming off of in two years of What they endured under Ben mcadoo but the reality is promising as Daniel Jones has looked particularly when he's throwing the ball With with the return of Saquon this is not what they were looking for. They're still suffering losses even with saquon on the field. I mean he has not had over sixty five rushing yards in the last three times he played. Hey only had two one hundred rushing yard games. That was in the first two weeks Daniel Jones continues to have issues with the interceptions. Fumbles and things of what have you and it has has. It was altered in wins. And you can't neglect the fact that this is in New York and teams with that media pressure there as well. It won't stop. It's hard to perform with a rookie quarterback though in this in this league it's not they had veteran it didn't it didn't work out. He still there by the way. He's still there. But look in this league. It's hard for a young quarterback to come in and be successful and I just think that we're witnessing growing pains of a young quarterback trying to figure his way Out through a hard schedule last year at this time he was done you know now. He's about halfway through so I mean it's it's a lot more difficult. I agree with you. Rob The only issue of course with the New York giants dances. They've had a lot of these same problems whether it was a long-term veteran quarterback or a yet stroup Such a great point. And so then you start to have to ask other kinds of questions

"Symbols be a is where we begin the program today the Boeing Company a global aerospace manufacturer as the company itself would surely like to remind you buddy company-owned at the moment for the fatal problems with a single model of a single plane the Boeing seven thirty-seven Max still grounded still driving Boeing's share price lower and the effects of which are still spilling out into Boeing suppliers and customers and the economy as a whole marketplace's Mitchell Hartman gets us going let's start with the airlines it's not like air travelers see a bunch of empty seven thirty seven Max planes grounded on the tarmac but mcadoo unikrishnan at airline weekly says this is affecting the industry free tickets against what they expected to have in their fleets and now for example in American and South West cases they have twenty odd fewer aircraft on that means fewer routes they can serve meaning fewer options and higher ticket prices for flyers Boeing is trying to get regulators to recertify seven thirty-seven Max as safe to fly so airlines will start taking delivery and ordering new planes again. Microsoft Reveals Foldable Surface Neo & Surface Duo

"Was a big surprise in the Microsoft announcement this morning that we're a couple of the very end right at the very end. They did their whole one more thing but I think it was more like a one point. One thing was one more thing and then. Why did he go? offstage aged came back is like oh actually literally said thank you thank you thank you as if aren't descended a story and then we get the neo which is a beautiful beautiful dual display device but did duo right after that that was quite a surprise quite a surprise and I mean and we've been hearing for a long time now. That Microsoft is just out of the mobile phone game. Allegedly allegedly didn't really work for for them so they kind of you know back to the drawing board apparently and so the duo is actually running android right right. That's part of the reason that we we would talk about this on this. Show show What did you think like? It's kind of seems like we know very little about it. At this point right again. I'm going to go on record as I said into livestream that we ahead here on the network The duo. I'm not sold on it because I'm just not ready for the foldable phone. I just don't see where that fits in my workflow. I noticed some some people that think have an extra screens in their pocket is just giving them a smaller version of a tablet but I just can't get into it. I do like the the fact that the screen is not foldable itself. There's a space in between the hinges so you don't have to deal with what Samsung was dealing with for twenty two hundred dollar device conventionally wear out regardless of how many times they tested it in their labs so you got that going for it yep but the neo on the other hand I totally addicted. I totally dig that now. The NEO is not android this zone and windows ten only right 10x are what what about it and has you because you getting productivity out of you have the dual screens but you can have they say like a smaller laptop if you will you get the extra keyboard that pulls out that's magnetically attached to it. It can slide to give you an extra touch bar like what micro macro mcadoo back on the macbook pros the touch bar but it's actually useful not getting into way always in tablet. I'm sorry the NEO is a tabular tape attached keyboard right right but does this is just small enough now the way they demoted in in in the key notice noticed they were holding it more like a book yeah. I don't necessarily they were holding a book. I don't like that I I it give it more of a clam shell productivity form and I and I'm with they called it a posture as what they kept saying during the keynote posture okay if you set it up more like a laptop I think is a great great device for about a nine nothing was nine inch display okay but the phone the duo nice that they're jumping in with the android world and trying to get that market share here but it's not for me but they they went to great lengths from what I understand to not call it a phone right. No why why development yeah this isn't coming out until twenty twenty one twenty corral this year I give them credit for not rushing into into it the way other. Oem's have but it is nice to just wait yeah early early preview out more little more than a a year from now the version that they were showing has a snapdragon eight fifty five which is this year's nearly top of the line of his time line until the fifty five plus came out so you know if they stick with that in and it comes out next year you're running into the complaints of like okay but again this is is this is a nonproduction version NATO to hopefully that would upgrade by then my like. I totally agree like I'm not a big Fan. Dan of the foldable technology the way it is now because from fraud fragility standpoint things are so fragile spending too much money for that the break right yeah at the same time the scene down the middle is really nice when you're using it for productivity but don't watch a movie like that I guarantee you. It's just not going to be funds. Yvette live through the middle of your movie. I liked what the what the neo they had the DACA options if you know if you're running windows ten year use to pending windows along long display yeah but you can do with the neo and put it down net lower tier screen just above your keyboard and hop back up to the main display and in take notes or what have you based on what you've seen danner just above your keyboard. I think that's just that's the use cases not just Oh. It's a pretty displayed. Are you actually getting some use out of that extra real estate right

Terry Bradshaw on Giants benching Eli Manning: 'I'd pack my bags and I'd go home'

"Giants bench Eli Manning this week in favor of rookie Daniel Jones skew. I was gracious after his demotion but hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw thinks he should say goodbye to New York so I hope he lives okay with it because he's such a good dude. I hope he's okay with it. I'm sure he isn't if they came to me in Pittsburgh after two weeks and they said Terry we're going to have to go with so and so I'd shake their hands I'd pack my bags and go home because that would be a hard pill to swallow after all of that well allies making twenty three million dollars this year in twenty twenty and he did start the season. He's Eli Manning so quitting right now. I'm well. He's made lots of money in his career but he's not going to quit in the middle of the seats. Also Terry wasn't bad at the end and tear never been a guy ready to take for terriers job like they drafted drafted a guy at number six pick so there's a Guy Terry didn't have the number six pick quarterback behind him. Also it's two weeks into the season. There's a lot can happen. I mean obviously obviously God willing nothing happened. Daniel gets injured then why the season is far from over literally just began. I'm not saying that we should should expect to see Eli again. If nothing goes wrong for the rest of the season hopefully they don't flip flop on this decision but if you're excited to watch Daniel Jones very exciting. I don't why I not the way that it was handled with mcadoo. benching was really disrespectful and quite frankly made no sense whatsoever. The season was completely lost. You weren't GonNa find out what you were going to get with Gino Smith so the whole thing was that was handled disastrously but this is this football and that's the way it goes. I I don't think I I would have preferred that they they did it my way which was turned over Daniel Johns at the beginning of the season and make it his team and get the locker room behind him and all of that they wanted to see what they had left with manning or maybe the fact they're paying Eli Manning almost twenty three million this year had something to do with it probably a little bit but this is a this isn't a disgraceful way to go out. We all know what you like. Is At this

They've got a mascot that runs out with a net and the costume to attack the bats every time they. Here you have any San Antonio is an awful place to play story. No. I love playing the fans are generally genuinely warm Holly. Because they I think they at least when I played they always knew they were going to win. So they never had any need to be really mean. Nicer winning will make you. Got the funniest thing from the sports weekend. Being the New York Giants picking up the option on ally. Man. I can't believe what happened there. Ben mcadoo had the strength was the general manager at the time Ben mcadoo had the strength to bench ally. Manning and move on into the future and everything that's happened since then is the Mara siding with ally. Manning and now they get rid of Oto Beckham instead of ally. Manning did you anyone in our audience have the idea a couple of years ago? Think about this got the idea that ending would still be there. But ode L Beckham wouldn't be no one. How is that possible? Or what you've been waiting for is next. We're gonna do stump the meat, which Onomichi cattleman that's out. But wasn't Gilman was it. I don't think it was Gettleman. I think it was Ben macadear. GOP Rep. Mia Love rebukes Trump in concession speech

"Behavior towards me made me wonder, what did he have to gain by saying such a thing about a federal f l Republican it was not really about asking him to do more was it or was it something else? Mr president. We'll have to chat about that. However, this gave me a clear vision of his world as it is no real relationships just convenient transactions that is an insufficient way to implement since theor service and policy above all my experience in the last year as provided me a big reminder of who I am. And what my purposes? This election experience and these comments signs a spotlight on the problems Washington politicians have with minorities and black Americans Mia love who lost her reelection bid. She represents Utah's fourth congressional district. Conceding a narrow loss to democrat. The legend of New York Giants RB Saquads Barkley

"The jets don't have anything around him and for the first twelve eighteen months of his career the new york giants are going to look like they were brilliant passing on him and taking saquon barkley because running backs transition much easier high school to college college to pros than quarterbacks do very rarely do you see a quarterback in high school go to college and star very rarely do you see a college quarterback come into the nfl star even carson went was bumpy as a rookie andrew luck through a lot of pixellated a lot of mistakes rookie peyton manning early in his career made a lot of mistakes sam darnold gonna be real choppy as first year but years three through thirteen the giants will regret passing on him and taking a running back who year thirteen will or to be out of national football league ben mcadoo yes sam darnold imperfect the top five guy is in the league i like for the next decade i love these guys and i got concerns with all of them joy tatum the news this is the headline news stick with quarterbacks cleveland browns rookie baker mayfield has a fan currently in the minor leagues tim tibo tvos rumbled ponies playing in akron and he had this to say about the number one overall pick sure that their 'bout sands disappointed in it but i will say this that i think that they're making some moves to give themselves a chance i'm friends with baker and i think he's going to do a good job i just saw them two days ago i think he's really focused on trying to prove that he was worth it and i think he's gonna do good job to them are similar and they both have chips on their shoulders the way tim tebow good baseball player you know what a good athlete i never bought into the tim tibo and building my football franchise around him but when i watched him tumble highlights on youtube he looks like he could play in the big i'm not saying he's gonna be mike trout but good for tim tibo i loved that he chased his dream and he's actually he's a heck of a baseball player he is so polarizing always fascinated me ten tibo people people either like tim tibo or they truly like it can't even explain how much they hate these hard to hate i think he's easy to doubt as quarterback i don't think he's i never hated him i just doubted that that kind of thing could work mtpa makes people crazy but hopefully baker mayfield ceiling in football is a little higher than tim tvos so new panther's offense coordinator north turner knows cam newton can light it up but he wants to see more consistency from his starting quarterback so in a recent interview with sirius xm nfl radio he said this the one thing that i think when you look at it that we'll gonna work hard to help them is he has a large number for his quarterback grading as high as england's in that high nineties hundred in the middle of that of a sixteen game season is a four or five games where that rating is not very good and that obviously makes your average not as good as you buy so what we're going to try to work hard for is eliminate the peaks and the valleys and try to on a weekly basis make it more consistent i think that will help us off into it'd be more consistent and certainly will help him hearing this i've always felt like this was cams biggest issue is that he can be so dynamic and so great and then the next week it's like where who are you where did you go what happens because.
