Johnson elected Chicago mayor in victory for progressives

"Former teacher and union organizer Brandon Johnson has been elected the mayor of Chicago. Johnson a Cook County commissioner endorsed by the Chicago teachers union, won a close race over former Chicago school's CEO Paul valles, who was backed by the police union. Johnson succeeds mayor Lori Lightfoot, who became the first Chicago mayor in 40 years to lose her reelection bid when she finished third in a crowded contest in February, Johnson took the stage Tuesday night for his victory speech, thanking supporters for helping usher in a new chapter in the history of our city, and he's promised that under his administration the city would look out for everyone, regardless of how much money they have, whom they love, or where they come from. Chicago chooses between progressive, moderate for mayor

"Voters in Chicago are choosing a new mayor today. The mayoral runoff in Chicago pits Paul valles, a former CEO of Chicago schools against progressive Brandon Johnson, both Democrats finished ahead of incumbent mayor Lori Lightfoot in February's election, but did not get the 50% needed to win outright. The contest has centered on an increase in violent crime and soaring property taxes. This is no time for on the job training. Phallus is a moderate endorsed by Chicago's police union and major business groups. We've been decimated because of high crime they've been decimated because of escalating taxes. Brandon Johnson is a former teacher in union organizer who has the backing of the powerful teachers union. My lived experiences have shaped my political views. Johnson says the city should focus on mental health treatment, affordable housing and jobs for youth. Well, there's a direct correlation correlation between hiring young people and violence reduction. I'm Jennifer King

"Still the patty basket show. John Hartman. Look at what happened to the gas prices in the three months leading up to the election. This is in my mind proof positive that the CEOs of the fossil fuel industry who hate Democrats and hate Biden wanted to bring down the Democratic Party and so they jacked up the price of gasoline. And, you know, I'm expecting that they'll do the same thing in two years and 2024. The Tom Hartman radio program, weekdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on 8 20, where facts matter. This is a W CPT a 20 heartland signal news minute. We didn't win the election today. But I stand here with my head held high and a heart full of gratitude. That's mayor Lori Lightfoot conceding defeat in Chicago's mayoral election. In seeking a second term in office, lightfoot finished third in the 9 candidate field, making her the first full term incumbent to not win reelection in 40 years. During the campaign, lightfoot delivered a relentless barrage of criticism of Paul valles and Brandon Johnson, the two candidates who will square off in an April 4th runoff that will elect lightfoot's replacement as mayor. In her election night remarks, lightfoot said she will be rooting and praying for our next mayor to deliver for the people of Chicago. It's been the honor of a lifetime to be mayor, and I just want to say thank you all deeply, deeply from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. For, a 20 in heartland signal. I'm Andy miles

Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago Loses Her Bid for Re-Election

"I wanted to talk in this opening segment about China, but before I do, I want to take a bemused note of the fact that Lori Lightfoot has been defeated. Now, frankly, I didn't really see this coming because I thought that this woman miserable wreck though she is. Nevertheless, what do you expect Chicago? This is the kind these are the kinds of places that elect creatures like Lori Lightfoot, AKA beetlejuice, but apparently even the chicagoans have had enough. They're like, no, we're going to look in a different direction. Now, what is that direction? There are two other contenders. By the way, it was like a ten man race. She came in like third. So she's out. But the race is between two other guys, apparently one of them is somewhat more moderate, the other guys are real, leftist and a radical. So in the next couple of days, I'll talk a little bit more about who these resumed successors are and where this may all end up, but for now I just want to say bye bye. Beetlejuice.

"And she was treated. She's a black woman in America, Mark. All right. This is how this goes. This is really that this works. She campaigned as a black woman in America and she won. Of course she won as a black woman in America as crime skyrockets in Chicago and she has, I mean, the stuff she has said, somebody put a compilation together that I saw of the F clarence Thomas. She said that at a speech. I'd like to say to Donald Trump two words, I mean, she's a vile, really grotesque character. And even the voters of Chicago had enough of her and believe me, this is not Chicago is not a red city. And they just can't stand it. I mean, there is a revolt going on in America, Mark. There's a revolt going on against wokeism and we're seeing it everywhere. Look at the video that went viral yesterday of the black guy who assassinated who executed the white homeless guy in St. Louis. Did you see that? I did. It's a guy sitting there in broad daylight, messing with a gun loading it to messing with it for 25, 30 seconds. Before just blowing a guy's brain. On the curb. They got their cell phone cameras out and they're saying, look at that. Look at the guy, he's got a gun and the guy standing there casually. He's putting the bullets in the chamber and he's loading the gun and then he pulls the trigger and he just puts a bullet in his poor guy's head and kills him, they've arrested him, thank goodness. But this is what's happening in the streets of St. Louis. It's what's happening in the streets of New York. It's happening in Baltimore. It's happening in Cleveland. It's happening in Chicago. And so one by one, our rejecting it, voters are saying, okay, Republican or Democrat, it doesn't matter. We're saying goodbye to this. Are okay. And I don't want to put words in your mouth. So let me try to understand you. I am really restraining any instinct to think that this is a burst of wisdom from Chicago voters that they reject Lori Lightfoot's politics. I think the next mayor of Chicago is just going to look and sound just like her because it Chicago. We're not going to know that that's true. He has a little bit of just like a little bit. He's more pro police. He's not he's not wanting to defund anybody. He's so Eric Adams then, because I want a great mayor. He is in New York. Well, he's got a great mayor, but I will say that Eric Adams is a lot ahead of better than when it comes to relationship with police. And he's not Lori Lightfoot. So but look at what's going on around us right now. I'm really encouraged today. I feel this great burst of inspiration looking around. Last night, Republicans and Democrats came together on Capitol Hill to identify the real nemesis for America and that's China. Yes. Congressman Mike Gallagher, no relation, great congressman from Wisconsin, he's chairing this very important committee and there is it's a bipartisan effort mark for once we're seeing not Republicans and Democrats trying to take each other's heads off. But identifying a very real threat to the United States, China's buying up farmland, China is flying spy balloons. All this crap. And look at what's, in fact, there's this movie that we've been promoting over at Salem now and it's a real important movie that everybody ought to see innovation race. You had a chance to see it yet. It's an amazing aware of it and the dangers of us falling. We have a guest tomorrow, I think, on that very subject about American innovation, how we better keep we better keep pace. We better keep pace. China is exploiting weaknesses in our patent system, they're stealing our inventions, our technology, we're helping them do it. They could control 5G technology, which will control eventually possibly all our devices. You got to watch this movie innovation raise it's available now on demand or you can get the DVD at Salem now dot com. Salem now dot com. And you know, you're a sports fan, I'm a sports fan. Look at LeBron James. Look at the NBA. Look at the way our own brands have climbed into bed with China and refused to say anything critical or negative. Punish you if you do. That was not so long ago. The Houston Rockets executive who said let's stand for Hong Kong and boy, he was pilloried because the NBA knows that it has to count out of China because it's such a massive market. So if this movie and you and I all together identify the economic.

"And of course, Biden accused Trump of fanning racism in his criticism of the Chinese government over the pandemic. And when Biden later revived an investigation, reluctantly I'd add into the origins of the virus, Biden denounced, he was denounced rather as sugar coating Trump's racism. This is, this is really about censorship. The scandal here is censorship. The media guaranteed that we did not have a full debate over the origins of the virus and attacked anyone who had the temerity to state the obvious that there was a plausible basis for suspecting the Wuhan lab. And Charlie goes on to point out that the Twitter files revealed an extensive and secret FBI effort to censor citizens on social media. This included undisclosed efforts by people like Adam Schiff to get Twitter to ban a columnist and target critics. In a house hearing, democratic leaders like representative Jamie rashkin called for more censorship and opposed investigations into the censorship efforts. Biden previously called for more censorship and accused big tech of killing people by not censuring more views that were deemed COVID miss information. Jonathan truly points out the opposite is true by suppressing alternative scientific and policy views. The public was denied a full debate over mask efficacy, vaccine side effects, COVID origins, and other important issues. Many of these questions are only being recognized as legitimate and worthy of debate. Censorship does not as Biden claims save lives. It is more likely he says to cost lives by protecting approved views from challenge. It does not foster the truth any more than it fosters free speech. Whatever the origin of COVID-19 may be in China, the origins of our censorship scandal is closer to home. It's a really smart analysis of the biggest scandal that I'm not kidding you. This is the biggest scandal. I've ever witnessed as an adult with 62 years on this planet. The way the left has embraced censorship and a totalitarian way of shutting down any view that questions the narrative is disgraceful, it's appalling. It's corrupt and it should be criminal. We're going to kind of focus on that theme and stick around as we roll along on this Wednesday episode of the Mike Gallagher show. Great to have you here. Wednesday, the 1st of March, 2023. Mike Gallagher, every day Mike visits with Mark Davis, morning host on 6 60 a.m. the answer in Dallas. Here's today's Eminem experience. My salt we throw some love to the windy city Mike because those voters have at least some degree of wisdom. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. Every once in a while, you are correct. Okay, Lori Lightfoot, it's a nonpartisan election, meaning nobody runs as an R, nobody runs as a D there were like ten people running. And if somebody gets 51 vote more than 50%, you're the next mayor of Chicago. In a busy field, people thought there would be a runoff, but they surely thought that Lori Lightfoot would make that runoff being one of the top two. She was a distant, distant third, and the competition will now be behind former Chicago public schools, CEO, Paul valles, and Cook County commissioner, Brandon Johnson. They had 39 33 and 20%, respectively, and Lori Lightfoot, the first mayor to fail to get reelection in Chicago in more than 40 years, got 17 percent. Wow. Was a landslide. And incidentally, don't get too excited about Paul valles. Check out what he said about Ron DeSantis recently. Nobody should pretend to go ahead. He's a fascist, and he's a human being. I mean, and this is a weird thing because the FOP, the local police union, endorsed him, and then they invited desantis, and then he denounced desantis. So it's just kind of strange. It's typical Chicago politics. I mean, it's always, that's how they roll, but golly, what a glorious, rebuke of woke ism. Incidentally, Lori Lori Lightfoot was asked, apparently this morning, if she was treated unfairly, and her answer was, well, I'm a black woman in America of treated unfairly by whom. Well, I have no question. No question. Let's make a possible by the media. Are you kidding me? She checked both the black box and the gay box, meaning she was going to be absolutely coddled and revered and ushered through one of the most disastrous stewardships of a city in recent American history..

"My pillow dot com from a code Mike G portions of the following program may contain pre recorded material. This is your source for breaking news and what to make of it all. This is the Mike Gallagher show. Joe Biden is losing his ability to speak. Your docs are good. There's any angels in heaven they're all nurses members. And you'll probably sound like that too if you make it to Joe Biden's age. We will also. The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan. Now, from the relief factor dot com studios. Here's Mike Gallagher. I often say that it's hard to distinguish the big things from the little things. The things that matter versus the things that don't. I often think of the late great Charles krauthammer who wrote a book called things that matter. And we get distracted by so many little things. I saw on The Daily Beast earlier today, there was a headline Trump doesn't pay the overtime fees of the police officers who worked his rallies. Anybody who knows Trump knows how extraordinarily loyal he is to law enforcement, how pro police he is. In fact, I traveled and did some coverage of some a number of his rallies and he always made it a point to stop and thank the police officers who were working his events. But there's The Daily Beast with a, they think I gotcha moment, look at that. Trump is a deadbeat. He doesn't pay. He doesn't pay his bills. Those are the kinds of things that the beast wants you to be distracted by. But there are big things. Really, really big things. And we've seen an unfolding scandal about COVID and the coronavirus that is really one of the most shocking scandals in the history of America. Christopher wray, the FBI director, joined Bret baier yesterday on Fox News to also confirm that his agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has concluded with moderate confidence that the virus did leak from the Wuhan virology lab in Wuhan, China. Here was FBI director ray yesterday on Fox News. The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan. We step back for a second. The FBI has folks agents, professionals, analysts, virologists, microbiologists, et cetera who focus specifically on the dangers of biological threats. Now, you know, a lot of people don't know what to do with this. It's quite something to look at the pages of The New York Times where they're essentially saying, well, does it really matter now? Does it matter? The media is in a real pickle over this. And I was very, very well, I was riveted by an article written by Jonathan turley for the New York Post. Jonathan turley, of course, is the is the law professor. You see him on Fox News a lot. He's an attorney, professor at George Washington University law school. He said he points out in his column recently that for years now, the media and government allied to treat anyone raising a lab theory as one of three possibilities. Conspiracy theorist or racist or racist conspiracy theorist, academics joined this chorus in marginalizing anyone raising the theory. One study cited the theory as an example of anti Chinese racism and quote toxic white masculinity. As Leia's as late as May of 2021, The New York Times science and health reporter was calling any mention of the lab leak theory as racist as Jonathan turley points out this particular reporter embodies the model of the new advocacy journalism at the times. Reporters who remained wedded to the dated view of objective journalism were purged from the ranks of the times long ago. You see, this is the scandal. The scandal is the media has become so corrupt in its advocacy. That the American people have zero confidence or faith or trust in the American news media..

"We're visiting with Dan prof. He's a morning host on a.m. 5 60, the answer in Chicago, our station in Chicago, proud to be on their team and always love to catch up with you, Dan, when we have a chance. I want you to hear a little bit of Lori Lightfoot's concession speech. He also told a reporter apparently this morning who said, were you treated unfairly? And she said, well, of course, I'm a black woman in America. And here's a little bit of her concession speech last night. Four years ago, four years ago, I looked into the camera and spoke directly to young people of color who looked like me and to every kid who felt like I did. When I grew up. And I'm going to do that again tonight. I told you back then that anything is possible with hard work. And I want you to know that no matter what happens along the way, you should always believe that because it's true. Believe that you can bring about change. Believe that you matter. And believe that you can love who you want to love and do what you want to do and be who you want to be. You will not be defined by how you fall. You will be defined by how hard you work, and how much you do. Good for other people. Well, I would agree with her that anything is possible, including your landslide defeat, mayor lightfoot. Can you imagine her saying that the reason she lost now is because she's a black woman in America and she was treated unfairly? Well, I mean it's how she ended this how she started. And it's the tale of Lori Lightfoot. That's why you got demolished yesterday. She once you won a rent she ran and then once she said, I'm the triple threat. I'm black. I'm gay, and I'm female. So she didn't identify herself by her heart work and want people to judge her by her hard work. She wanted to be a judge by her identity. And so now she's playing the role of the victim, which is just preposterous given the field and given Brandon Johnson. But she's not, but Dan, she's but she's not alone. But she and all the unions that play identity politics the same way she does. So that's sort of Charlotte Rae is why people tired of Lori Lightfoot. I just wonder if we're going to get different varietals at the same race hustle but from the two perspective mayoral. But that victim grievance is not alone. It's not unique to Lori Lightfoot. This is a strategy. This is a tactic of the left. I mean, again, for crying out loud, we live in a country where a black woman is a heartbeat away from the presidency. Second most powerful person in the government is a black woman, and yet Lori Lightfoot wants to paint a landscape, this is a country that's so grossly unfair to black women. It's like, boy, try to have your cake and eat it too. I want to be my qualification for a job is because I'm a black woman, and then if I lose, it's because I'm a black woman. Boy, it kind of kind of convenient to have it both ways. Well, it's a way to issue a kind of ability, you know? What happened on my watch is not my fault. The fact that Chicago continues to lead the nation and murders and has every year since I've been mayor. That's not my fault. The economic department in Chicago, the company is leaving Chicago. The residents fleeing Chicago like it's on fire, which it was several times during her tenure. That's not my fault. So it's got to be somebody else's. It's white supremacy. It's the patriarchal society and so on and so forth. But, you know, I think there's enough people who see through that or to the extent that she wants to wear that cloak. They're not buying it her at least. Well, thank goodness for that. Dan, we always appreciate your insights, great catching up with you and we'll keep live to fight another day. You keep fighting the good fight, my friend. Thanks, Mike. Appreciate your time. Take care. Dan prof morning host on a.m. 5 60, the answer in Chicago. "People who live in these cities and work in these cities are experiencing just hell. Hell on earth, do you share my optimism that maybe the tide is turning as a result of Lori Lightfoot's stunning defeat? No, I don't. Tim Fox was reelected two years ago in Cook County, but because of the city of Chicago, the city of Chicago residents and the politicians in this race running from mayor all support the safety act in Illinois, which is exactly what you're talking about. No cameras fail, decarceration of criminals, anti prosecution, anti incarceration of habitual offenders. You have 55% out of those who voted yesterday voted for an out and proud Marxist of one candidate or the other. Right. So I think there's a long way to go to be able to say that Chicago residents are really interested in a paradigm shift. I think they repudiated glory lightfoot because as I said, she was just so antagonistic personally, but a brand of Johnson, for example, the runoff is even more hardcore Marxist than Lori Lightfoot won. And Paul valles, as you were just talking about with his comments against desantis and other comments he's made is put his P hat on and he's pandering because he thinks that's the way to get to the mayor's office. I don't think he's right, but that's what he's doing. So I think what you have in the choice is much like you had with Eric Adams in New York. You have people hoping that Eric Adams is going to be something markedly different. You have people hoping that Paul analysis is going to be something that could be different. But I think what your choice really is is between somebody who will more orderly manage the decline of Chicago versus someone who will press the pedal to the floor and destroy the city with catastrophic economic and justice policy. Well, it's interesting too that the left seems to think that I was reading over the new republic the conservative pseudo Democrat could become Chicago's next mayor. They're calling Paul valles a conservative pseudo Democrat. Well, right, but I mean, remember that anything left of Lenin is conservative to new Republicans like that. It was sort of, you know, have a dalliance with a center right voters because he wanted to get funding from center right businessman, which he did because that was the only pathway for him to get the money he needed to compete. But soon as soon as he got the money and as soon as he was positioned being the only white candidate in the race of 9 to make the runoff, then he did exactly what you were just referencing. He went on a full frontal assault against center right voters, made a mockery of their support. Ruthlessly and erroneously attacked Ron DeSantis, and that's not the only example. And 12 Alice has been a guy looking for an office for the better part of players. This is the election he's won, but not the first election in which he has run. And so I just don't trust the act. And because I had some overtures to center right voters for a finite period of time doesn't make him a conservative Democrat or anything like the new republic is describing..

What is it they say about revenge? It's a dish best served cold when Kayleigh McEnany was The White House press secretary, the former mayor of Chicago, the outgoing mayor, Lori Lightfoot called Caylee, a Karen, and you know the expression, Karen is a busybody, nosy neighbor who goes to the manager and complains about something. Lori Lightfoot comic with that she is referred to Kayleigh McEnany as a Karen after Lori Lightfoot's landslide defeat in Chicago where the voters woke up and rejected woke and rejected the crazed far left radical anti police ideology of Lori Lightfoot, Kayleigh McEnany had an opportunity to do a little gloating last night. I stood at the podium in The White House and I called out Chicago's crime because in the Trump White House, we cared about the victims of crime. She responded and called me a Karen. So she had enough time to call out The White House press secretary as a Karen rather than focusing on crime in her city. So I loved your dance moves. That was fun to watch on TikTok, although they really weren't. They weren't good. But sorry, Karen, here you lost. Ouch. Ouch is right. Hey, Karen, lightfoot you lost. And it turns out that critics, of course, are her critics are breathing a sigh of relief, of course, under Lori Lightfoot, Chicago has seen soaring crime rates. She had a terrible relationship with law enforcement. Now, I don't want you to get too excited about Paul valles. He's the Chicago public schools CEO. "Here's Joe Biden in Warsaw Poland just last week. The questions we face are as simple as they were profound. Would we respond? Or would we look the other way? Would it be strong? Would be you, we would we the all of our allies would be united or divided. Should we play clips like that a million times free over the past few years we could play a million more because Joe Biden talks like that every day. At this point, it's how he talks. Joe Biden is losing his ability to speak. That's not a secret. It's not something you learn from our confidential sources and are bringing to you for the first time genetic exclusively that is obvious to the entire world. And you'll probably sound like that too if you make it to Joe Biden's age. We will also, it's not weird, it's natural. It's not an attack on Joe Biden hardly. It's an observation. But because it's natural, we have been commanded to ignore it. He's right. He's absolutely right. And you know what I like. It feels like the American people are starting to say, you're not telling me what to ignore or how I can think anymore. We've had it. We've had it with the thought the thought police. We've had it with being censored, being stifled. The American people are fed up. And apparently chicagoans were fed up. That's an incredible story. I didn't really, I wasn't too excited about Chicago. I thought, nah. The Chicago voters won't get it right. She got clobbered. And I'm reading here that moments ago, the Democrat Chicago mayor blamed racism and her gender for her landslide defeat. A reporter asked if she had been treated unfairly and I thought, by whom the media, you think the media treated Lori Lightfoot unfairly, but the reporter teeter up for the perfect answer, I'm a black woman in America, of course. I'm a black woman, let's not forget. Shirt and folks, frankly, don't support us in leadership roles. That's an embarrassment. That's an absolute embarrassment. And to see that crime skyrocketed on her watch, everybody knows it. When you're woke, that doesn't work with law enforcement or policing. Or the judicial system, being woke doesn't work, the bad guys, what woke. They want no cash bail. They want to get away with crimes and not be incarcerated. They want to be able to torch police cars and shock cops in the mouth and not be held accountable. Lori Lightfoot and Chicago proves it. This is an amazing thing what happened. She didn't lose, she got clobbered. It was a landslide. It was a 1315% or something she got? She didn't lose. She got trounced. And it gives me hope, it gives me hope for this country. I am hopeful. I'm cautiously optimistic that we're about to start getting things right..

"Doing David Bowie, but trans up. He is supposed to be a fashion hero because he keeps wearing women's clothes on the cover of magazines. Because he's flaunting the rules, guys, woohoo. And it's all part of the face tattoos syndrome. Harry Styles. Wow, it's groundbreaking. He's wearing a dress on the cover of a man. And then you say, well, yeah, and that's not very masculine, and he looks like he looks like a dope. He looks like an idiot. And maybe men should actually act masculine as a general rule. There are people who are not, but maybe as like a model of male behavior, you might want to act like somewhat masculine. How dare you notice? Also, what makes you think he's not well, I think that it's not masculine to wear a dress. I'm just gonna put it out there. It doesn't seem like a particularly masculine thing to do. Well now, English pop singer Harry Styles his partnering with Michael Bloomberg's everytown for gun safety's students demands action. He has donated a $1 million into a proceeds to secure more gun control in America, according to breitbart. On February 27th, 2023, styles decided to join forces with every town. Styles responded to a recent shooting saying he was absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, and so he is going to use his money in order to promote gun control in a country where he does not live. To which we can only say that we fought a revolution so we don't have to listen to Brits. So Harry Styles can go back to making his crappy music and second rate movies with Olivia Wilde and we're in dresses on the cover of magazines. You're not going to take our gun rights because you donated money to Michael Bloomberg's group. So tiresome. And final thing that I hate for today. So the Puerto Rico Miss Universe pageant is now going to allow a dude to compete. That's actually exciting. Maybe I should have put this in things I like. Finally, finally, gender parity. Finally, finally dudes will be allowed to compete with the ladies in the Miss Universe contest. So exciting. According to The Associated Press, daniela Arroyo Gonzalez, who is best known for winning a federal lawsuit against Puerto Rico's government that allows people to change gender on their birth certificate, was chosen on Thursday. It was her second attempt by her women his. He's a dude. In the April 2018 ruling, U.S. district court judge, Carmen consuelo wrote a royal and others who brought the lawsuit have stepped up for those whose voices debilitated by raw discrimination have been hushed into silence. Arroyo will compete with other candidates representing the island's 78 municipalities for the Miss Universe. Miss Universe pageant has allowed trans participation since 2012. The first transgender woman competed in the global event in 2018. Now, this is not a great shock because, of course, a trans activist was a dude from Thailand, bought the Miss Universe organization for about $20 million last year. And so you're now going to be able to get to see a bunch of surgically enhanced dudes participate in the Miss Universe contest. At this point, I'm just wondering if there's any purpose to this. Why don't we just honestly, why don't we just do computer generated people and we'll have a contest for that? Because let's face it, that's what's happening when you have a Miss Universe contest featuring surgically enhanced dudes. It's basically a contest among plastic surgeons so maybe we should just call it the plastic surgery contest because that's really what you're doing here, right? Just slice an awesome and you're putting in some fake vaginas and you're enhancing some chest tissue or planting breast tissue and changing hormones and you're shaving down jaws and you're poofing up lips and you're like, who's the best plastic surgeon? It can actually be a reality show. Who is the best plastic surgeon? Because it certainly isn't who's the most beautiful woman because these aren't women. I know it's uncomfortable for us to recognize the simple fact, but that is a simple fact. You are now looking at dudes who have been surgically enhanced to appear more feminine to look like women. And so if you are saying that that is the best woman that I guess women are all just assemblages of parts. Everything that you say in the feminist circle is about how people should stop viewing women as an assemblage of parts, is completely undermined by this, because you are literally talking about a man with an assemblage of fake female parts who you are now calling a woman and having compete with the other women who apparently have not been surgically enhanced generally speaking. So if this person wins, congratulations to his plastic surgeon because that's really who is getting rewarded. Well done, plastic surgeries come a long way. Also, a thing I like that is related to a thing I hate Mississippi is now banning transgender surgery on minors and hormone treatments on minors. And that is good. My friend Matt Walsh, what is a woman? He went actually to the signing of the bill, and he appeared at the press conference with governor Tate Reid's of Mississippi, who invited him. He was the only invited guest speaker. And it was great that Matt went. He also shellacked a couple members of the PRES we're asking very dumb questions about why boys can't be girls and all of the rest of the Mississippi bill banned from minors under the age of 18, puberty blockers, those would be chemical castration drugs, cross sex hormones, and surgeries for minors. It is a very good thing. Again, all of this is because daily wire does things like what is woman and all of that is possible because you are subscribers make it possible. You give us the money that allows us to actually make things like what is a woman and to go on crusades like this to end child mutilation across the country. By the way, your doctor good there's any angels having all nurses met with people. And you'll probably sound like that too if you make it to Joe Biden's age. We will also. The FBI has for quite some time now assessed that the origins of the pandemic are most likely a potential lab incident in Wuhan. Now, from the relief factor dot com studios. Here's Mike Gallagher. Eric Hansen has filed a complaint with HR here at team Gallagher and Salem media group. He felt very guilty about having to put the clip of Joe Biden mumbling from the podium in the open. It does feel really wrong to make fun of old people, doesn't it? Do you see Tucker Carlson's monologue? I've got a lot of great news today. This is really kind of an uplifting positive time we're living in right now. Some good stuff's happening. Good stuff's happening. Chicago? I don't know, I didn't have any high confidence you do it, but they did bye bye, Lori Lightfoot. Woke, loses. In Chicago. And it wasn't even close. She lost by a landslide. And of course, she's now blaming her defeat on the fact that she's a black woman in America. I can't believe some of these politicians have zero shame, she's literally saying that a reporter said, would you treat it unfairly? She said, of course, I'm black. I'm a black woman in America. I got it. But let's go back to bigger picture. The commander in chief, Biden insists on giving speeches and his speech in Virginia, Virginia Beach didn't go so well all that well yesterday. We docs are good if there's any angels having they're all nurses, male and female. You know why? You guys let us guys make us allow us to live. Nurses make you one of it. Huh? No idea what was that the same as the open Eric? That's the same thing in the show up. I was the same clip. Play one more time from the beginning. Let's just listen to the guy who's got his finger near the nuclear codes, the commander in chief, the leader of the free world, I give you the 46th president of the United States who has promised to be apparently running for reelection in 2024. By the way, redox is good if there's any angel in heaven, they're all nurses, male and female. You know why? You guys let us you guys make us allow us to live. Nurses make you one of them. There you go. And I'm not even including the part where he says nurse Florence came into his hospital room and did things that no nurse has ever been trained to do. Did you hear that? That's not too creepy. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing to see here. It's all normal. Everything's okay with Joe Biden. Do not question his age. He's knocking on the door a 90, but he's a young 90. Tucker talked about it last night, a really important monologue. And again, it's not pleasant. I'm not, I don't feel comfortable making fun of an old man. I want to be old someday. I want everybody who's listening to me and watching me right now to be old. I want us all to live to 99. I'm not sure I want any of us to run the country when we're 99, but that's apparently what the Democrats seem hell bent on doing. Check out what Tucker said last night about the obvious regarding President Biden. Any two year old men should not be running countries. They're not strong enough mentally or physically. Everybody knows that. Very much including any 82 year old menu ask. The people around Joe Biden certainly know that. How could they not know that? They watch him and you do too..

"mayor lori lightfoot" Discussed on The Ben Shapiro Show

"Mayor Lori Lightfoot doesn't even make it past the first round of voting in Chicago. A St. Louis man shoots a homeless man point blank on the street and we examine the reasons why, and the Supreme Court considers striking down Joe Biden's student loan bailout as Democrats wine. I'm Ben Shapiro this is the bench bureau show. Well, Lori Lightfoot, the smeagol of American politics, a person who began as sort of a semi charming hobbit and then ended up being really just a quite terrible person who helped wreck Chicago's politics even further. She has now failed in her reelected the first mayor to fail in a reelected in Chicago in 40 years because Chicago is a one party town Chicago is a place where when the party appoints someone the head of the party, that person stays there for literally ever. Daily family ran that city for decades because of this. Lori Lightfoot did not last two terms because she was that bad a mayor. According to The Wall Street Journal, mayor Lori Lightfoot lost her reelect bid by failing to Garner enough votes to make even a runoff election. So she wasn't one of the top two. She was like number three in this election, which is pretty shocking. The top two, by the way, included a person who last time he ran for mayor, actually was endorsed by the Chicago Republican Party all 7 of them. This is a stunning fall for a candidate, but one all 50 of the city's wards four years ago, but inspired with powerful teachers unions and been under fire for her response to rising a crime. The Associated Press declared Tuesday night that Paul valles and more moderate Democrats who had won the support of the city's police union, ah, there you are. And Brandon Johnson a liberal teacher's union organizer secured the top two spots in April's runoff election. Again, the guy who won the most votes is actually police friendly. He's a little bit more investor friendly. He's somebody who's not nearly as radical as Lori Lightfoot, lightfoot ran in third place. It was the first time in 40 years the city did not elect a sitting at mayor who sought reelection. She told supporters on Tuesday that she had called Dallas and Johnson to congratulate them and that she appreciated the love that her supporters had shown her during the campaign, unfortunately, there were only 7 of them. So she actually didn't hug them personally, which I guess was very exciting for Lori Lightfoot. And this should remind us that what goes up in American politics does come down that the laws of political gravity apply. The real reason that Lori Lightfoot is no longer going to be the mayor of Chicago is because she was a terrible mayor. She was abrasive. She was rude. She was nasty. She wasn't indeed racist, and she also happened to not do anything about the massive crime problems inside the city. In fact, according to wire points dot org, Chicago's 2022 homicide rate is 5 times higher than that of New York City and 2.5 times higher than Los Angeles. Those numbers aren't just host George Floyd, host COVID, about a year ago, where points looked at a study of Chicago's homicide rate, found the city broke ranks from New York and in LA in the 1990s and it never dropped. Overall crime is up 37% over 2021 and 20% over the pre George Floyd 2019. Carjackings are set to hit nearly 2000 this year or one every 5 hours. This year alone at 35 Chicago children have been murdered so far. That was as of September 2022. So yeah, she did a horrendous job. It wasn't just that she did a horrendous job, however. It is worth noting here that Lori Lightfoot, who was treated by the media as a godsend, because she was intersectional as all hell, Lori Lightfoot, she was a woman of color who was also a lesbian, which means that she was sent from on high by the angels to be mayor of Chicago. In fact, she was so intersectional, she was like, she was the closest thing that we have ever had. The most intersectional person in the United States which meant she should have been amazing at her job, right? Because diversity is our strength in all of this. Well, it turns out she was crap at her job. David axelrod, who of course, is a Chicago insider among Chicago insiders. He said, everybody strength is their weakness. Her strength is she's a very pugilistic person. She's fought for everything she's gotten in her life. She antagonized a lot of people, those chickens are coming home to roost. He said the uncompromising nature of her personality, the lack of relationships with other people she has to deal with constructively. They wind up being very, very damaging. Yeah, well, that happens to obviously be the case. And this requires us to take a bit of a journey through time to remind you all who Lori Lightfoot was, because one of the things that Lori Lightfoot's ouster tells us is that the chickens are going to come home to roost not just for Lori Lightfoot, but for the entire radical left. It's going to happen. 2020 22. The Democratic Party, which is associated itself with the radical left, escaped the guillotine blade because Republicans decided to raid the local homeless shelter for candidates. But that does not mean that gravity is not going to apply. They're going to continue floating up there. Like the Chinese spy balloon, they will, in fact, be shot down and they will plummet to earth and it will crash and hurt when that happens. You remember back to the pandemic. There were three mayors above all other mayors were treated by the media as amazing at their job. They were actually terrible at their job. Lori Lightfoot in Chicago, Eric garcetti in Los Angeles, Bill de Blasio, in New York. De Blasio left in disgrace. He then ran for Congress and couldn't even make a runoff. Eric garcetti left he was thinking about running for Senate. He didn't even get an ambassador slot under Joe Biden. And now Lori Lightfoot has become the first Chicago mayor in 40 years not to even, not forget winning reelection. She didn't even make the runoff. You understand how bad that is. She didn't make the top two candidates. Tap two. She was number three as a horrible strong for Lori Lightfoot. And again, there is a reason for that. So let us review the reasons why. So let's begin with Lori Lightfoot on crime, because crime is, in fact, a major issue for the people who live in Chicago. Well, it turns out that because Lori Lightfoot has not clamped down on the crime. A lot of major corporations are like, we don't feel like investing in your city. And Lori Lightfoot because she is quite a terrible person. Her response to this is to tell the CEOs that they need to educate themselves. This is Lori Lightfoot September 2022. Any remarks to counter the McDonald's CEO who says, people are afraid to come back to the headquarters. Well, I think that what would have been helpful is for the McDonald's CEO to educate himself before he spoke. So when corporations asked Lori Lightfoot about crime, she immediately tried them this way. And then, of course, he's no exception for loyal life, which she's very abrasive. She's not a nice person. And the kind of bizarre mix between Lori Lightfoot, the reality of living in Chicago, which means you might get shot or you might get locked down and pretty much any time under Laurie lightfoot. And her bizarre demeanor really is not amazing. Back in April of last year, she was talking about there's going to be a summer of joy in Chicago. Meanwhile, people are getting shot on mass in her city. And folks just wait till Memorial Day and our summer, it will be the summer of joy in Chicago. It was not in fact a summer of joy in Chicago because, of course, people were getting carjacked on a routine basis. And Laura lightford always had somebody else to blame. She blamed remote learning for an increase in carjackings. Yes, that was the issue. It was not how you undermine the police, as we'll get to in just a moment.

Time now to take a look at some of the other stories making news in New York and around the world, good morning Michael Barr. Good morning, Nathan, at least 32 people were killed in a train crash in northeast Greece and 85 more were injured. The crash took place in the Tempe valley when a passenger train traveling from Athens collided with a cargo train igniting a fire. The passenger train carrying hundreds of people, including many university students, returning home from holiday. Chicago voters have denied mayor Lori Lightfoot a second term. Lightfoot told her supporters that they fought the good fight. Now as we all know in life, in the end, you don't always win every battle. But you never regret taking on the powerful and bringing in the light. Candidates Paul valles and Brandon Johnson will meet in an April 4th runoff to succeed lightfoot, valles received 34% of the vote while Johnson got 20% lightfoot, got 17%. Republican representative George Santos may not be well liked by his colleagues or constituents, but his bill and Congress deals with something his district on New York's Long Island once, raising the cap on the state and local tax deduction. Santos, who lied about his resume, introduced legislation that would increase the deduction known as salt to $50,000. The salt right off was capped at $10,000 in president Donald Trump's 2017 tax overhaul. Representative Nick loloda, another Long Island Republican, says despite supporting increases to the cap. He will oppose the measure because Santos proposed it. The U.S. says it is watching what it calls Russian sanctions evasion in Central Asia. Bloomberg's at Baxter as the story. Secretary of State Antony Blinken highlighting microchips taken from devices like refrigerators, even breast pumps and shipped to Russia. He says it has a global message. Other countries will learn the wrong lesson and would be aggressors in every part of the world will say, well, if Russia can get away with this, then we can too. So a different tag, U.S. will provide an additional $25 million to help Central Asian states help diversify trade relationships and export routes, as well as trying to help businesses get out of previous relationships that could violate the sanctions. How Chicago elects a mayor, and why a winner may take weeks

"Chicago was holding an election today for mayor, but it will likely take weeks and a runoff election before a winner is declared. 9 candidates are competing for a chance to be Chicago's next mayor. That includes current mayor Lori Lightfoot seeking her second term to win the office outright a candidate needs to receive more than 50% of the vote. That's unlikely with such a large field, so the race is expected to go to an April 4th runoff between the top two vote getters. The election is officially nonpartisan and has not considered or called a primary, though all the candidates call themselves Democrats. In addition to lightfoot candidates are U.S. rep Jesus Chewy Garcia, former school CEO Paul valles, Cook County commissioner Brandon Johnson, businessman Willie Wilson, state rep cam Buckner, activist Jamal Greene and city council members Sophia king and roderick Sawyer. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Won't Acknowledge the Real Killer in Her City

"Lori Lightfoot from Chicago has announced that you are not allowed to go to bars, restaurants, gyms and entertainment venues in Chicago without showing proof of vaccination. Even though the vaccination is showing to be nowhere near as effective as they said it would. Now, mayor Lori Lightfoot is super concerned that a 7 year old might try to go into the magnificent mile without being with being unvaccinated. But mayor Lori Lightfoot is silent on the fact that there have been 833 total homicides in Chicago this year, 4447 people total shot. 3663 people shot and wounded and 784 people shot and killed in downtown Chicago. Lori Lightfoot is more worried about checking your papers if you want to go to Gibson's steakhouse or checking your papers if you want to go shopping with your family.

Jen Psaki Breaks With Progressives on Smash-and-Grab Robberies: 'We Don't Agree'

"Is wrong. This crime surge is happening and we must not look the other way. Here was Jen Psaki yesterday in this exchange with Fox News channels Jackie Heinrich. Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot appeared to pass the blame on to retailers for these smashing grads saying that she's disappointed that these stores are not for the security officers who plays them working cameras and chaining up Cayenne bags, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, congresswoman said earlier this week also that she doubted allegations of organized retail thefts which you believed it was a Walgreens in California that cited it with a giant didn't back it up. Does the president believe that organized retail theft is really happening and should it be on the stores themselves to take action to prevent it? Well, we don't agree. And I think our actions and the work that we have had in working with the Justice Department, the FBI and federal law enforcement show that we take, we have seen some of these extremely video extremely disturbing videos showing retail thefts and both major retailers as well as state and local leaders like governor Newsom have identified this as a serious concern. We agree. That's the reason why we have sent additional support from the FBI, providing additional assistance. It's one of the reasons why we have also been the president and members of our administration have been long time advocates for supporting and funding the cops program something where the president proposed almost 300 million in additional assistance through his budget from what it was last year and why we have also provided money to get a Friday provided financial assistance to get money to hire 50 more police officers through the cops program that the president has championed in places like San Francisco and additional 20 officers in Los Angeles. So I think his record speaks for itself on this. We are going to continue to advocate for supporting programs like the cops program, ensuring that our law enforcement are good partners as we're working to address these retail thefts across the country. I'm no fan of the Biden administration. I'm no fan of The White House press secretary, but that's the right answer. It is. We got to stop this insanity of progressives trying to convince the country we shouldn't believe our line eyes. This crime wave the surge in crime is real.

Matt Rosenberg: There Is a Problem of Moral Authority in the City of Chicago

"I'm talking to matt rosenberg from chicago and the book is what next chicago. You're just telling us something really nuts. You're seeing that mayor lori lightfoot Was quoting john lennon's beautiful but insipid song. Imagine in response to some killings. Tell us more about that just so that we understand what in what context was she doing this right while i put it this way that she is channeling john lennon. She did not name him what she did. Say after a mass shooting. In which a number of people were killed was it's a whole essentially. She said it's a whole different ballgame if we don't have all these guns around and the absurdity of that is that it's the proclivity to shoot a gun for spurious reasons. That is the real issue here. I think common commonsense observers understand that so the hard part here is going back to a failure among parents. You know the hard part here to me is the issue of what i like to call in eric. This was growth experience for me. I had to confront. What is the central problem here. And i realized it's centered around something that i decided i would call moral authority. This is probably an area in which you have some experience of thinking and writing and and analyzing i realized it's a pretty basic definition what that what's constituted within that but there are maybe only five percent of chicago's one million households that are not living with moral authority but that's a large enough number to affect a tyranny of the minority which means it's not safe to be out on the streets which means that schools k twelve public schools are in state of disorder. Where police are required to be onsite breaking up fights guarding students against violence from other students. There's a great pressure on the county court system because of a small relatively small handful of miscreants who have an outsized effect on the city's so there is a problem of moral authority in the city

Police Rightfully Give Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot the Cold Shoulder

"Lori Lightfoot was given the cold shoulder. Chicago police officer L. A French, as you know, was killed. "Will bellow that it's a mayor Lori Lightfoot swindle. Ah scam to steal our money to balance her budget to nickel and diamonds in a grab for cash to generate revenue on the backs of the taxpayers. It's a bad idea. The recipients of tickets and fines will say, I say no way. It's not a swindle or a grab for cash, but an effort to protect Children near schools and parks and whatever money it collects. That may balance the budget. It is a good idea. Recent statistic is that last November in Chicago, there were 120 car accidents 35% more than the preceding month, October. Drivers driving 8% faster car crash fatalities 80% higher The neighborhood hot rods don't want to stop speeding and even more so they don't want to be bothered by tickets and fines.
